Hi Murphy,

I’ve been a lurker the past month or so. I am not a member and not as brave as your members to even sign on. I just wanted to comment on a post tonight. The writer was wondering if others are getting scared of BO in the WH. I can tell, you everyone I know, friends and coworkers are very scared now that the mask has slipped and they were informed to go looking on the internet. I’ve lurked and read many blogs, most posters there are getting scared as well. You may not know it but people are indeed flipping left and right from Obama-those that are not complete Koolaid drinkers. Fear of this man, his violent and dangerous radical ties that continue to mount, trump any and everything else.

I’m in a blue state and have turned 5 coworkers to vote for McCain so far. None of them knew any of this stuff becasue it was not in the MSM. I feel for this guy Joe-being villified but it is a huge eye opener to people – both the conversation with BO and them ripping him apart for daring to disagree with him. The ACORN thing is a huge eye opener too. It has finally made a lot of on the fencers question everything BO has lied about and they go looking on the net. Nobama thinks we that have internet access are stupid enough not to go looking. It is those that don’t have it and get their only info. From the MSM don’t know the “real” Nobama. I just wanted to let you and your posters know they are far from alone. Many, many people lurk here and more with each passing day. You ladies(and gentlemen) are making a huge difference. Kudo’s to you all and keep it up!!!!!!  Us lurkers may not be as brave or vocal as you but we are fighting the fight-informing the uniformed and changing votes to McCain whenever and wherever we can-in our own small way.

Folks, enough. Enough name calling and back biting. Enough bitterness and hopelessness. Most of all, enough PANIC!!! We are all still here, together, fighting for the same outcome. We’ll be together on November 4th, and we’ll be here together on November 5th. No matter what.

Frodo, gogandalf, goalucard, utahpuma, and MANY of our longtime Puma PAC activists have told us that this REALLY works. Especially in the swing states.

Bottom line: there is absolutely NO REASON for discouragement or despair. We are here, working together, and we’re not going anywhere (well, some of us will be going to Ohio, Florida, Nevada, and Pennsylvania this weekend, but they’re still “here” when they’re “there”).

So Puma Up folks — turn those frowns upside down and dig in. It’s going to be a LONG 18 days until November 4th — but it will also be wonderful, because we’ll always have each other to rely on: for help and inspiration every single day.

Twenty days left in this nightmare campaign, Folks. Between today and November 4th things are apt to get heated and tense. We’ve all had enough. Enough of the pandering, the lying, the insults, the denial of reality, the indifference of the media and our leaders, the Palin porn, the sexist onslaught, and enough of Barack Obama. Why isn’t he back in Chicago already, where he belongs? I believe the country is well and truly sick of him.

Obama is an empty suit in love with the sound of his own voice and the shape of his own naive ideas. As Riverdaughter said this morning, Obama has permanently sidelined Hillary Clinton’s political career. She will likely not seek national office again, and the ONLY reason is that he willfully and viciously kneecapped her during the primaries. McCain did the right thing last night in confronting Obama about the sexist and racist attacks on him, Sarah Palin, and even Hillary Clinton. I won’t hold my breath waiting to see if the MSM addresses the issue, but it was a good and honorable thing for McCain to do. Obama, of course, sputtered and muttered a response that made him look more guilty and smug than ever.

McCain is wrong on health care, but who cares? The treasury is empty — the country is broke and feels broken. There will be no will and no wherewithal to adequately address the health care mess this time around. And Obama is wrong about everything. Because he’s a liar and a panderer. His platform looks pretty good on paper, but that’s all it is — paper. His tax cuts are actually tax credits, an important difference, but he assumes we’re all idiots and won’t know the difference. He has NO plan for education reform (maybe he’ll hire Bill Ayers to run the public schools even deeper into the ground). And his foreign policy is an incoherent shambles of nice ideas and lofty ideals. Spare me.

The Obama Movement is in love with its own image of itself — as youthful, hopeful, shiny, and new. They remind me of the young Bernie and Bill — privileged, pampered, petulant babies, over-educated and underinformed.

Meet the new brats. Same as the old brats.

Meanwhile, like Jo up there (the 21st Century reincarnation of Rosie), it’s our job to do the WORK now, just like always. We have 20 days to do everything we can to keep the King of the Brats out of the White House.

Oh, and THIS STORY stood out this morning as well. These two beautiful girls were apparently murdered by their father because they messed with his HONOR. holy smokes.

Joe Cannon says that Larry Johnson was not pulling our legs about the Whitey Tape — but there’s no evidence the tape actually, you know, exists either. At this point I agree with him — even if the tape is real and is played nonstop on PBS, NPR, and MSNBC until November 4th, I don’t think it will affect voters much. Go back and listen to Howard Stern to find out why I think that.

Danforth says that 53,000 of the 300,000 or so new registrations filed by ACORN in Philadelphia were rejected as fraudulent. Wow. How many slipped through? That’s a high percentage. Holy smokes.

Danforth is a bore — but it’s worth listening to the press conference.

“Evidence is overwhelming that there have been an enormous number of problematic registrations.” — Warren Rudman.

Time to call Congress and tell our reps to DEMAND that ACORN share its voter registration database with Congressional officials.

Drive thru:

• Banks (under the tube chute) 
• Fast foods (under the ordering speaker) 

Indoors:

• Bulletin boards (activity centers, fitness centers, grocery outlets, Laundromats etc.) 
• Dressing rooms (department stores) 
• Bathrooms and port-a-potties (stalls inside door) 
• Highway Rest stops 
• Info racks in Welcome Centers, Hotels and Motels 
• Shelves at grocery stores, pharmacies etc.

• In the shopping carts (in the aisles, parking lot)

• I like to tell sympathetic Anti Obama people that I leave flyers around. A lot of them get curious and some tell me they want to do that too… I have recruited 18 year olds to 70 something year old’s… (from Freddie) 

Things to bring with you while out distributing flyers:

• Rolls of scotch tape 
• Other stickers (such as with Nobama or Vote McCain/Palin on it) 
• stapler 
• glue dots

 
Prepare yourself before distributing flyers 

Distributing Flyers in the Community:

One of the best ways to get to know your community and the small business people, is to distribute your flyers at stores, restaurants, convenience stores, laundromats, bars, etc. 

Distributing Flyers in the Streets:

One of the easiest ways to “get your feet wet” is distributing flyers at events, parades, etc., interacting with the public in a non threatening way. This is by no means easy but you know the adage, blood, sweat and tears will apply.  If you are shy, there are many other ways that don’t require face to face interaction.  

Do not waste your time engaging Obots.  You will not get anywhere. Focus on why you are doing this. If you do it with confidence, no one will question you – normally. 

Rule One:  Never distribute flyers alone. Always go in pairs. This is for safety, and for practical reasons.

Rule Two:  Blend in with the community in your appearance and demeanor. If the community you are targeting is a college campus, send your young, college age members, dressed accordingly. If the community is working class, don’t wear a suit. Be clean, friendly, non confrontational, and smile like you’re having fun!

Rule Three: Position yourself to hand out the maximum number of flyers with a minimum of disturbance. Don’t block sidewalks, stay to the side. Hold the flyer out, let folks take it. NEVER press flyers on anyone. If someone doesn’t want a flyer, refuses it or hands it back, no problem. Smile but don’t slow down nor get in a conversation, just continue handing out flyers.

Rule Four:  Repeat! Don’t argue, don’t discuss, don’t explain and don’t turn around and go back. Hand out flyers. If engaged in conversation, you can’t hand out flyers

Rule Five: Know your 1st Amendment rights & exercise them. You have the right to hand out flyers on any public sidewalk, park, or right of way. You do not have to obtain any kind of permit to do so. However, you need to decide in advance, what action(s) you want to take if confronted by the police. Unless you are breaking the law, no one is going to arrest you for handing out flyers.

And a hypocrite too. Let’s not forget HOW and WHY obama got Alice Palmer’s name removed from the ballot in Chicago — he questioned the VALIDITY of her nominating signatures. In other words, he accused her of VOTER FRAUD. And he won*.

So obama was AGAINST voter FRAUD before he was FOR it??

Very conveeeeenient, no?

Oh, and a liar too. His website flatly denies that Obama ever worked for ACORN. Not true. Not even close.

What’s John McCain playing at? His unpredicted announcement of a Homeownership Resurgence Plan caught pundits on both the left AND the right by surprise. The left pretended to yawn while the right threatened to blow a gasket. Well, none of THAT is surprising. What’s curious to me is WHY did McCain drop such an unexpected policy initiative on voters last night? Seems like a pretty big gamble this late in the game. My hunch is that McCain is betting Republicans are NOT going to bolt the party and vote for Obama at this point. Seems a pretty safe bet to me. Republicans may not love McCain, but can you imagine ANY of your Republican friends voting for That One?

Didn’t think so. If it were Hillary he were facing, McCain might not be so willing to risk his base’s ire. But alas, it is a man McCain faces in November. (No indulging in “what might have been,” Folks — them days is over.) And, of course, the committed Obama voters are NEVER going to vote for McCain. NEVER. Not even if Larry Sinclair, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, and Louis Farrakhan himself all host a joint press conference in the nude and regale the public with tales of drunken and drugged bestiality involving Barack Obama, a donkey, and a very lonely Acorn. And then burn a flag and make fun of how gullible intellectual white people are.

Ahem. Anyway — I think McCain is risking the Choir by preaching to the Heathens (that’s us, Folks. Us Heathen Racist Pumas!). He’s taking his base for granted and conceding the voters of Obama Nation. The question is, will it work? 

I’m not sure. I was admittedly intrigued by the idea of a $5,000 health insurance credit (would help my family a LOT) since I know Obama is as committed to UHC as I am to abstinence only sex ed and I also know that the economic landscape of the next four years will make it pretty much impossible for real UHC to pass. So $5 grand a year until 2012 to cut down on our health insurance costs? Hmmm. And now add in an apparently sincere and far-reaching plan to include the working class in the COLOSSAL BILLIONAIREs’ BAILOUT of 2008? 

I’m intrigued. As a Puma with no candidate in the race, watching this game play out from the sidelines has at least some benefits. What do you all think?

Sol Stern will have none of it. In “The bomber as school reformer,” Stern writes:

“Calling Bill Ayers a school reformer is a bit like calling Joseph Stalin an agricultural reformer. (If you find the metaphor strained, consider that Walter Duranty, the infamous New York Times reporter covering the Soviet Union in the 1930s, did, in fact, depict Stalin as a great land reformer who created happy, productive collective farms.) For instance, at a November 2006 education forum in Caracas, Venezuela, with President Hugo Chávez at his side, Ayers proclaimed his support for “the profound educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chávez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. . . . I look forward to seeing how you continue to overcome the failings of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane.” Ayers concluded his speech by declaring that “Venezuela is poised to offer the world a new model of education—a humanizing and revolutionary model whose twin missions are enlightenment and liberation,” and then, as in days of old, raised his fist and chanted: “Viva Presidente Chávez! Viva la Revolucion Bolivariana! Hasta la Victoria Siempre!”

Stern reminds us that Ayers was a revolutionary driven by hatred of the United States when he was planting bombs in the 1970’s and he is a revolutionary driven by hatred of the United States now. The intervening years include the period of his alliance with his young Chicago friend Barack Obama. Stern drily observes: “For the first time in his life, Ayers seems to be observing Democratic Party discipline and won’t be talking until after November 4.”

The disturbing look on the young Bill Ayers’ unnervingly boyish (despite the MANLY MUSTACHE!) face reminded me of this other very young “radical.” Though there has always been something fiercely tragic and horrible in the look of terrified determination in McVeigh’s eyes and mouth. McVeigh comes through (to me at least) as a horribly misguided and WRONG “true believer.” Ayers looks like a sadistic psychopath straight out of central casting.

From today’s Wall Street Journal’s Political Diary:

“One of the funniest and most politically searing comedy sketches in years has vanished from the Web site of NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Visitor comments asking about its disappearance are also being scrubbed from the Web site. The sketch — a harsh indictment of the housing meltdown that led to last week’s bailout bill — was clearly too much truth for someone to handle.

The seven-minute sketch featured a mock news conference of Democratic Congressional leaders on the bailout bill, during which Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank inadvertently acknowledge that it was Congress that blocked reform and effective oversight of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

They were followed by actors portraying the real-life couple of Herbert and Marion Sandler. They explained how they built a mortgage company that specialized in subprime mortgages, which they sold to Wachovia Bank for $24.2 billion in 2006 — one of the worst acquisitions by any company ever. It helped precipitate the collapse of Wachovia last week.

The Sandlers were hustled off the stage by “Speaker Pelosi” after they said they couldn’t understand why they were invited to a news conference of “victims” since they had done so well out of the housing crisis.

They were followed by financier George Soros, identified as “Owner, Democratic Party.” The actor portraying Mr. Soros informs the group that the $700 billion bailout package “basically belongs to me” and that he has decided to short the U.S. dollar. That will trigger a devaluation “either Tuesday or Wednesday. I haven’t decided which yet. It will depend on how I feel.”

The brutally wicked sketch must have caused tremors in left-wing circles. The Sandlers and Mr. Soros have all been prime financial backers of independent political groups that have secured huge influence in the Democratic Party and helped fuel the rise of Barack Obama.

The Sandlers, for example, were major donors to the left-wing radio network Air America as well as the liberal housing lobby ACORN, a major player in pressuring banks into making more subprime mortgages. They also donated $2.5 million to MoveOn.org, the liberal group that insulted General David Petraeus as “General Betray Us” last year. Mr. Soros contributed a like amount. In turn, Eli Pariser, the head of MoveOn.org, was quite candid after the 2004 election about the influence this left-wing cabal hoped to exercise: “Now it’s our party: we bought it, we own it, and we are going to take it back.”

No doubt the Sandlers and Mr. Soros were displeased with the Saturday Night Live sketch. Herbert Sandler told the Associated Press that its portrayal of him as a predatory lender was “crap.” “We are being unfairly tarred. People have been telling us to speak out for some time, but we didn’t think it was appropriate. That was clearly a mistake.”

I suspect that some of the people the Sandlers have spoken to — or complained to — are the corporate overseers of NBC. That may explain why the bailout sketch has been airbrushed from the network’s Web site and will likely never be shown again.

That’s a shame, because rarely has political satire been more timely, pointed and, in many respects, so truthful.”
