The only way I have found to log into the sucky journalism thread is to open the pumapac page and find somewhere to log in – if nothing happens I refresh and sometimes I get a comment box. OMG – other times it is different but definitely cannot see anything current until I log in (although sometimes I can’t get in). So log in, refresh, press the older comments to find the newer ones
Hi Remember, I have tried everything and sometimes it works, other times I end up somewhere else on that blog and just give up. Most PUMAs are not blogging, so I think it is pretty similar for everyone. At least we can post here and check in every now and then. Hopefully it will get better.

Hey wierd looking spider you linked to. I believe the female black widow spider is also much larger than the male. Spiders are fascinating but creepy. I’ve had a rash of spiders inside and outside my house this summer. More than I’ve ever had before. I try to pick them up carefully with a Kleenex and take them outside when they come inside. I’ve even found them on my bed. That is too close for comfort.

Mr. Messina: He served for almost two years as a deputy chief of staff in Mr. Obama’s White House, and has been a “fixer” for the president, dealing with the most politically difficult problems. Messina was recently in Chicago meeting with Democratic donors and scouting space for a campaign headquarters.
Julianna Smoot: She served as Mr. Obama’s top fundraiser during the 2008 campaign. Her $75 million haul for Mr. Obama during the first nine months of 2007 helped establish him as a top contender. She is likely to be a deputy campaign manager in 2012.
Penny Pritzker: A billionaire from Chicago, she served as the chair of Mr. Obama’s fundraising team but took herself out of running for Commerce secretary when Mr. Obama was assembling his Cabinet. Her family’s financial empire includes the Hyatt Hotel chain. Though it’s unclear what Ms. Pritzker’s role will be, her background, connections and close relationship to the president suggest it will be high profile.
Tim Kaine: The chairman of the Democratic National Committee has already spent much of the last two years raising money for the president and the party. If he decides against running for the Senate in Virginia, look for him to ramp up that role.
Wall Street: If Mr. Obama wants to raise close to $1 billion, he’ll once again need the support of wealthy friends. The Washington Post’s Jason Horowitz offered some familiar names: Orin Kramer, an investor at Boston Provident; Mark Gallogly a co-founder of Centerbridge Partners; James Rubin, an investor at BC Partners; and Robert Wolf, president of UBS Investment Bank.

Obama’s 2008 Campaign finances were a huge fraud. Some of it is detailed at the website MUR6142.com that is about a Matter Under Review with the Federal Election Commission. Not only does he have $259 Million listed as \”Unitemized Donors\”, but he is holding several million in over limit contributions, including one that is twice the limit from billionaire Herbert A . Allen, Sr who died in 1997.
The FEC records show fewer than 700,000 unique donors listed who donated the documented (itemized) amount, making the claim that the unitemized funds were donations under the $200 limit, highly implausible.

They’re working on it.
Usually when pumapac is down for more than a two or three hour period the problem is with the server and beyond Murphy’s control.

WordPress Suffers DDoS Attack
WordPress.com has suffered from a huge Distributed Denial of Service (DDos) attack, the service confirmed Thursday.
WordPress confirmed the attack in a blog post, specifying that it is being attacked at the rate of “multiple Gigabits per second and tens of millions of packets per second.” The blog post is unavailable but Naked Security captured it in a Twitpic.
“We are working to mitigate the attack, but because of the extreme size, it is proving rather difficult,” the company’s Sara Rosso wrote. “At this time, everything should be back to normal as the attack has subsided, but we are actively working with our upstream providers on measure to prevent such attacks from affecting connectivity going forward.”

Huffington Post contributors go on strike, propose collective bargaining
Arianna Huffington is being cast by some unpaid Huffington Post contributors as an unethical robber baron. With Huffington awash in funds from AOL’s $315 million purchase of the Huffington Post, contributors have called a strike to demand proper compensation.
The Huffington Post, established in 2005, emerged as a leading source of aggregated news content and liberal commentary written by unpaid contributors. With the success of the site, founder Arianna Huffington rocketed to national fame, frequently appearing as a guest on cable news programs.
Bill Lasarow, Publisher and Co-Editor of Visual Art Source, announced that his organization is “now going on strike. For now, at least, no more content from us will appear on the Huffington Post.”
Visual Art Source members have contributed content to the Huffington Post for free since 2010. Lasarow wrote that “it is unethical to expect trained and qualified professionals to contribute quality content for nothing.”
How far the strike will spread is currently unclear. But Lasarow wrote that his group is calling for broad participation by Huffington Post contributors. “I am also calling upon all others now contributing free content, particularly original content to the Huffington Post to also join us in this strike,” wrote Lasarow.

As the big-money race begins in earnest, here’s a look of some of the key players — and components — in a campaign money machine that is tasked with raising close to $1 billion dollars for the president:
Mr. Messina: He served for almost two years as a deputy chief of staff in Mr. Obama’s White House, and has been a “fixer” for the president, dealing with the most politically difficult problems. Messina was recently in Chicago meeting with Democratic donors and scouting space for a campaign headquarters.
Julianna Smoot: She served as Mr. Obama’s top fundraiser during the 2008 campaign. Her $75 million haul for Mr. Obama during the first nine months of 2007 helped establish him as a top contender. She is likely to be a deputy campaign manager in 2012.
Penny Pritzker: A billionaire from Chicago, she served as the chair of Mr. Obama’s fundraising team but took herself out of running for Commerce secretary when Mr. Obama was assembling his Cabinet. Her family’s financial empire includes the Hyatt Hotel chain. Though it’s unclear what Ms. Pritzker’s role will be, her background, connections and close relationship to the president suggest it will be high profile.
Tim Kaine: The chairman of the Democratic National Committee has already spent much of the last two years raising money for the president and the party. If he decides against running for the Senate in Virginia, look for him to ramp up that role.
Wall Street: If Mr. Obama wants to raise close to $1 billion, he’ll once again need the support of wealthy friends. The Washington Post’s Jason Horowitz offered some familiar names: Orin Kramer, an investor at Boston Provident; Mark Gallogly a co-founder of Centerbridge Partners; James Rubin, an investor at BC Partners; and Robert Wolf, president of UBS Investment Bank.
The Internet: As much as big donors matter, Mr. Obama is likely to rely heavily on the kind of smaller donations that were key to his campaign in 2008. The biggest player in that game? The list of supporters — and their email addresses — now housed at Organizing for America, the DNC’s outreach arm.

Obama’s 2008 Campaign finances were a huge fraud. Some of it is detailed at the website MUR6142.com that is about a Matter Under Review with the Federal Election Commission. Not only does he have $259 Million listed as \”Unitemized Donors\”, but he is holding several million in over limit contributions, including one that is twice the limit from billionaire Herbert A . Allen, Sr who died in 1997.
The FEC records show fewer than 700,000 unique donors listed who donated the documented (itemized) amount, making the claim that the unitemized funds were donations under the $200 limit, highly implausible.
Obama is nothing but an empty suit for sale.

the main den was down when I finally got back online..electric was off for a few days after the storm.. and then my computer would not come on …old age or power surge?..I dunno
anyway..had to purchase a refurbished tower and it is working great…more speed is nice
