Not with guns, or hate, or violence of any kind. But with our voices, our presence, our courage in standing up for each other, our unity

I think I have figured John McCain out.

I think McCain has been frustrated and embarrassed for years by the goon squad in the Republican party. He does not subscribe to the underhanded, slash and burn, character assassination of the Karl Rove types. They did that to him in 2000, and it sickened him. He wanted a campaign that was filled with truth, honesty, above board ethical campaigning, and one that did not go contrary to his own personal integrity.

The contrast with the Obama campaign is stark. Here is a man who, though a career military man and politician, is almost gentle in his campaign style. He talks about principles, whether it be in economics, foreign policy, or education. He has lived an exemplary life, and his campaign style reflects that. He is focused and determined. He has remained true to his principles and does not pander or buy friendship or votes. He would rather do it right than have a gutter fight, all the while believing that the American people deserve better than what we have been presented with for the last 1/4 of a century.

Sarah Palin’s style is similar to his, and her lifestyle is that of a good solid every day American working person. Her husband and children are examples of what you would find here in my neighborhood. She could be me. She does not try to act like a man! But she is not a cheerleader fluff headed bimbo either. She seems to be the female version of John McCain, cool, grounded, honest, forthright, patriotic and competent.

If John McCain can pull this off, and I think he will, this may change the way politicians present themselves for a generation. If he can beat all of Obama’s millions of $, with a small budget and a well grounded campaign, we will know for once and all time that money is only one factor in a campaign. Maybe McCain IS the CHANGE we have needed for a long, long, long time.

Muprhy ,
Agreed, our voices are the best weapon we have. our voices and our votes. If any of my posts were taken to encourage violence, they weren’t meant to.
I do however believe the right to self defense is not merely absolute but, the capacity and willingness to defend yourself and neighbors is a responsibility in a free society.
We need to have the confidence in ourselves and fellow Americans so the true goal of terrorists, which is to terrorize, is never achieved.

Very thoughtful observations. I completely agree with you and agree that McCain has a gentle, almost fatherly, campaign style which I find very reassuring when contrasted with the lofty, empty rhetoric of Obamessiah.

Repost -

Wow, clearly this woman’s experience has brought up a lot of anger and rage here… and for many the incident has brought up pain and anger from their own personal experiences with violence. I understand that. I get the outrage over what happened to this woman, I too an upset.

What I also find upsetting is since this story was first posted on the blog, I have seen two people verbally attacked here. In both incidents, first with RedStateGuy and then with Gina613, instead of giving the person a chance to clarify their response, they were attacked with hateful rhetoric.

I find this really sad and for the first time I think that this blog has taken on characteristics of the Obot sites. These two people were attacked for making some thoughtless comments. Their intentions were not meant to harm anyone. Sometimes people make mistakes and they should be given the opportunity to explain what they meant, instead of automatically getting attacked. How does this make us any different from the Obot sites that we criticize? RedStateGuy and Gina did not deserve to be attacked, this was wrong.

#290 KER made this comment -

“Mick doesn’t know the extent of the Obot insanity because she is not a Democrat.”

Ker, are you kidding me?? This is hilarious. Do you and others here truly believe that these insane Democrats are only just now showing their deranged hatred??? Where have y’all been for the last 8 yrs.? The deranged Obots that you are seeing have been spewing their vile at Republicans for years. The violence that you all are finally seeing is nothing new to me and other Repubs. The crazed loony left have been attacking my party for a long time and if you think that this is new then I suggest you do some research. What you are now seeing is the Bush Derangement Syndrome which is now being spewed at anyone who is against their new Leader.

Maybe now you see what those of us who are 2nd amendment defenders mean by the idea of owning firearms for the express purpose of persobal defense and why we fought so hard to prevent the ownership being downgraded to a government approved “sporting” purpose.
Maybe we are seeing why the radical left has pushed such an agenda for so long. People who cannot defend themselves are easily cowed.
A few well placed acts of violence and many will just fall in line.

McCain-Palin 2008 Launches New Radio Ad: “Spread The Wealth”

ARLINGTON, VA — Today, McCain-Palin 2008 released its latest radio ad, entitled “Spread the Wealth.” The ad features Florida Governor Charlie Crist discussing why he supports John McCain’s economic plan that will create millions of new jobs in America. The ad will be aired in Florida.

LISTEN TO THE AD HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AO0-Xz3F2M

Script For “Spread the Wealth” (Radio :60)

GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST: Hi, this is Governor Charlie Crist.

Let me tell you why I support my friend John McCain.

He will lower your taxes.

He will stop wasteful government spending.

And John McCain knows that people don’t want to “spread the wealth.”

He knows that Congress should let you keep more of your money, and not take it away.

Thank you very much.

ANNCR: Your savings, your job and your financial security are under siege.

Congressional liberals will make it worse.

Congressional liberals plan nearly a trillion dollars in new government spending.

To pay for it, Congressional liberals promise higher taxes on American families making over $42,000 a year.

Barack Obama and Congressional liberals call it spreading the wealth around, we call it higher taxes, bigger government.

Either way, it will cost you.

Stop ‘em before they make it worse.

Paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

AD FACTS: Script For “Spread The Wealth” (Radio :60)

GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST: Hi, this is Governor Charlie Crist. Let me tell you why I support my friend John McCain. He will lower your taxes. He will stop wasteful government spending. And John McCain knows that people don’t want to “spread the wealth.” He knows that Congress should let you keep more of your money, and not take it away. Thank you very much.

Barack Obama: “I Think When You Spread The Wealth Around, It’s Good For Everybody.” JOE WURZELBACHER: “I’m a plumber. You know, I work, you know, 10, 12 hours a day. If I buy another truck and add something else to it, and you know, build the company…” OBAMA: “Right.” WURZELBACHER: “… you know, I’m getting taxed more and more.” OBAMA: “Nobody likes high taxes.” WURZELBACHER: “No, not at all.” OBAMA: “Right? Of course not. So — but what’s happened is, is that we end up — we’ve cut taxes a lot for folks like me who make a lot more than $250,000. We haven’t given a break to folks who make less. It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success, too. And everybody is so pinched that business is bad for everybody. And I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” (Barack Obama, Remarks, Toledo, OH, 10/12/08)
ANNCR: Your savings, your job and your financial security are under siege. Congressional liberals will make it worse. Congressional liberals plan nearly a trillion dollars in new government spending.
If Barack Obama Could Enact All Of His Campaign Proposals, Taxpayers Would Be Faced With Financing Over $1 Trillion In New Spending Over One White House Term. (Barack Obama’s Spending Proposals: http://www.barackobama.com/index.php, Accessed 10/19/08)
Investor’s Business Daily Said Under An Obama Administration There Would Be “Nearly $1 Trillion” In New Spending. “Absent enormous cuts in government spending — and Barack Obama alone promises new spending of nearly $1 trillion — there will be no hope of anything resembling a balanced budget.” (Editorial, “A Bad Scenario,” Investor’s Business Daily, 2/28/08)
PolitiFact Discredits Obama’s Claim That His Proposals Are Paid For; Says His Rhetoric Is “Disingenuous.” “Until he fleshes out his economic plan considerably more, it’s disingenuous to go around claiming his proposals are ‘paid for.’ And that claim is even more suspect considering that his proposals would leave a larger deficit than would the tax laws currently on the books. We find his claim to be Barely True.” (”‘Paid For’ Without Real Money,” St. Petersburg Times’ “PolitiFact.com,” http://www.politifact.com, 6/16/08)

Before tonight, I have not ever had a problem with the discourse here … in fact, I think healthy debate or discourse among friends is good. What I didn’t like this time was seeing two good people verbally attacked with fuck u’s etc.

As a result of how Gina was treated, I’m sure she won’t come back and I think that is really sad. Like many here, she’s been through I lot and it breaks my heart to know that she is hurting over what happened this evening.

You are correct, I’ve been dealing with the radical left for many years so nothing that they are doing right now is all that surprising to me.

Please keep in mind that as you stated the topic of violence against women really hits some raw nerves for a lot of women. Also keep in mind that tempers flare at times, but usually things settle down after a brief cooling off period. And also that usually out of the many people posting and online, the attacks are usually limited to few, if any, on any of the provocative topics. Not all minds will agree. Freedom of thought and speech at work….

It’s been an enlightening, frighteningly enlightening experience for most of us - this election.

Yet, despite the attacks, I haven’t seen the degree of hatred and violence here towards anyone as extreme and despicable as I have seen in many, many of the Obama sites.

Perhaps, having experienced the radical left on a more intimate level for the past 8+ years you are more familiar with their tactics. Here, many of us are just learning…..

I have to say I, personally, am seeing traditional Republican positions in a whole new light as a result of all this.

Below is Anna7000’s letter to elected officials. I have made the corrections she suggested.

The Obama campaign has nurtured a culture of violence all year. Obama has urged his supporters to “argue” and get in people’s faces. One of his supporters, Ludicris, writes rap lyrics that describe Senator Clinton as an irrelevant bitch. No comment from Mr. Obama. Another supporter makes a u-tube video that shows the former football star punching (a stand in for) Sarah Palin to the ground, rendering her unconscious, at best, or perhaps, dead. No comment from Mr. Obama.

Young high school students in Nebraska are seen in army fatigues chanting Obama’s praises as they go through militaristic movements. The citizens of Missouri are threatened with the power of the state, enlisted by the Obama campaign, should they question Obama by speaking what he deems to be lies.

Those who do not support Obama are being verbally accosted, physically assaulted and in some cases, lives have been threatened. Personal property is damaged. No comments from the Obama campaign.

Some schools are practicing lock downs for Election Day and the following day in anticipation of possible violence.

Those who dare to question Obama’s qualifications are accused of being racists.

Louis Farrakhan, the man who proudly announced his great admiration for Hitler, calls Obama the Messiah.

I could go on.

Who among our distinguished leaders, Democrat or Republican will speak out against this? Who will do so loudly and strongly? Who will risk being politically incorrect but morally right and perhaps even risk their career in order to say what needs to be said?

This is not about party alliances. This is about basic American values.

Who will stand up and speak out?

just would like to mention that I am a person who would never allow a handgun in my home, although I have always supported gun rights. Well, for the very first time in my life, this household purchased a handgun earlier this week and I will be going to the range to learn how to use it. I have never held a gun in my hand before. for the first time in my life, I feel the need to protect my home and family.

21 Reasons Why Sarah Palin Should NOT be Elected Vice-President of the United States:

1) She is a Woman.

2) She does not believe in killing babies, born or unborn.

3) She is NOT endorsed by Susan Sarandon, Jane Fonda, Rosie O’Donnell, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Geraldine Ferrara, Barbara Walters, Helen Thomas, Ellen DeGeneris, Ted Kennedy, Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews, Barbra Streisand, David Letterman, or others who fervently believe in a Woman’s Right to Choose (to kill babies).

4) She is married to a Foreigner–a species called ‘Native American’–meaning her five children are half-breeds.

5) She has on more than one occasion expressed PRIDE in the United States of America .

6) Unlike decent, self-respecting Democrats everywhere, she has a 17-year-old daughter who became pregnant out of wedlock.

7) She is a member of the American Riflemen’s Association / actually owns firearms / and knows how to use them.

8) She has killed a moose, among other animals–and spreads the propaganda that it is hunters, through their license fees, that keep American wildlife from becoming extinct.

9) She often does her own grocery and other household shopping.

10) She drives a car and flies a plane.

11) She chose to give birth to a defective child, rather than allow a skilled abortion doctor kill it for her.

12) She refuses to apologize for seeking the termination of an Alaskan State Trooper just because he applied a gentle taser to his 12-year-old stepson (who, of course, happened to be Gov. Palin’s nephew).

13) She is inexperienced. And she refuses to admit that her duties as the chief executive in the State of Alaska are nowhere near equal to those of a public servant who was once a Community Organizer, or that of a United States Senator who has carried the awesome burden of overseeing a staff of political appointees.

14) She has a son who is in the U.S. military, deployed to the Persian Gulf — probably making her prejudiced against all the peaceful Muslims in that part of the world.

15) She is on Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Do Not Invite’ list.

16) She professes to be a Christian, but has no ‘Spiritual Adviser’ — even though Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who served Sen. Obama in that capacity for 20 years, is now available.

17) She isn’t really a ‘beauty queen,’ as advertised. She was only the runner-up in the Miss Alaska Contest; and Alaska is not a very populous state, anyway.

18) The Obama-Biden ticket is favored over McCain-Palin, 80% to 20%, by our friendly allies in France .

19) Her children are not properly trained in hygiene. (Did you see her 7-year-old daughter shamelessly lick the entire palm of her hand at the Convention, then use it to slick down the hair of her little brother?)

20) She is of mixed English, German, and Irish ancestry — and you KNOW you can’t trust the Limey’s, Krauts, or Micks.

21) Back to No. 1: This is the one that really galls modern, liberal ‘feminists.’ Gov. Palin is a Woman, a female-type wife and mother, who shaves her legs, wears makeup, dresses smartly, often cooks meals for her family, doesn’t give a hoot about the National Organization for Women or the all-powerful Teachers Unions — and obviously will never, ever fit in as a member of the Washington Elite.

Do we want a person like this to be the Vice President of the Unites States?

You bet we do!!!

Another incoming email—from three friends who are under 30. Don’t believe the locked up barack logic that he has the youth vote at his back. With emails being sent out like this from that demographic, could be another reason to explain his HI visit.
*********************************************
This is one of the most dispiriting things I have ever seen in an election for the highest office of our country. Not only should this man be relieved of his duties as a Senator but should never never be considered for this high office. Please pass this on to some of your Democratic friends to see their take on it!

The following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning’s televised ‘Meet The Press’ and the author is employed by none other than the Washington Post!!

From Sunday’s Televised ‘Meet the Press’ Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem Stance Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn’ USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain why he doesn’t follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171… During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, ‘Stand and Face It’

Senator Obama Live on Sunday stated:

‘As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. ‘There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like To Teach the World To Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.’We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It’s my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine’. Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country’s First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.’

WHAAAAAAAT the Hell !!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our next President.
I, for one, am speechless.

Dale Lindsborg,

Washington Post

8 snowtiger The American Revolution was not fought with words alone. Nor were any other conflicts in which sacrifices were made to keep our nation free. If I am attacked again by one of BO’s goons, I will shoot him. Guaranteed.
Furthermore, when I see Ms Clinton, who I supported and worked my butt off for, take the stage and ask me to support and vote for BO, I feel as if I’m being attacked by someone who WAS my friend.
There are some people who make enough money to live and work in areas where they are fairly insulated from some of the realities the rest of us face on a daily basis.
I feel for those people because once the money goes, so will their security soon after. And words will not protect them.
I am certainly not advocating going out and shooting every black person I see, or every man who threatens me even. But I am giving notice that if you mess with me, you do so at your own peril. “Don’t Tread On Me” still applies today.

TOPIC: NEWSPAPER THERAPY

Need a therapist but can’t afford one? With rising unemployment, hiring freezes, economic meltdown and the rising costs of Health Care I thought ya’ll might like an idea for how to get therapy on the cheap. And it only costs 50 cents, in some cases, less!

PUMA’s, what you do is, every day you buy your favorite local newspaper…now it’s yours to do whatever you want with, right?

So, now you go and sit yourself down in your favorite local coffee shop. Pick a place where LOTS of people sit and sip coffee and read the news. Now you take out your sharpee or ballpoint pen, and at your leisure and your own sweet time, get it all off your chest.

Here’s what I did today. First, I started off with a story about SARAH PALIN’S wardrobe. Wrote in big letters beside it, “WHO CARES?,” then I circled the SOURCE they quoted (politico), wrote “Figures! They’re Sexist Pigs!!”

Next to all of that I wrote in huge type: “Just more Gender Bias, people, remember the media hated Hillary Clinton’s pantsuits, too!!”

On to an article about Health care. Underneath it I wrote in big letters, “Tisk-tisk! Now that the Dem$ and Repub$ have squandared all our money, NO ONE can solve this!!”

Next, moved on to a big OBAMA Cartoon featuring Colin Powell. First drew a BIG arrow to Obama, and labeled it “Transparent Bozo #1.” Then, another big arrow pointing to Colin Powell: “Transparent Bozo #2!”
Felt real good.

Now remember PUMA’s, we should always try to end our therapy on a Happy Note, you’ll feel so much better! ;D

In my case, on the opinion page was one article I liked, by Thomas Friedman, the NY Times writer, on world oil supplies and gas prices (real brainy guy, a rarity in today’s world).

I wrote: “Real Smart Guy, the only column worth reading in the NY Times these days!” Then I placed everything in a nice, neat, stack for the next reader.

Felt sooooo fine!!!

#42 michelle47 on 10.23.08 at 9:52 pm

I have learned many things this election year.
But the one that stands out most in my mind is this…

We as voters are used to smooth talking politicians, but how many people really understand what they are saying? I would bet no more than a 1/3, so here comes 2 people that give simple answers to what we view as complex questions, simple answers, Obama talks in circles, pretty circles, but circles none the less and never once touches on the ACTUAL ANSWERS. So there are people out there that expect to NOT UNDERSTAND what they are being told, the less they understand the smarter the politicians seem to them. McCain and Palin do not use pretty words, they answer questions simply without bullshit and they are considered dumb, not qualified, etc…..This really has become an ass backwards world.

WTF!!! He has “put aside his hatred” Since WHEN????

Everyone in this country needs to hear that!!!

mick, I have seen the discourse get rude and personal here at times….but what I also have seen is that usually the attacks are not representative of what everyone on the blog feels. Usually, it’s something that an individual person or limited group feels very strongly about. Often it’s an emotional experience and it illicits a strong emotional reaction…. And usually there are more people who want the person who leaves in hurt or anger to come back, than there are who want them to stay away permanently…

I hope Gina comes back….And I hope Gina realizes not to judge the whole universe of bloggers here by a sharp exchange with some.

I truly believe it is much better to express one’s views in good faith and to criticize those views if necessary, but not to make it personal. Respect and communication (even if heated and controversial at times) bridges more gaps and fosters more legitimate understanding than hostility and banishment. At least that’s my view….

I also am glad to see RedStateGuy came back….

We need to bridge gaps, not increase divisions and open communication is the best way to start, again, jmho.

Mountain. I am one hundred pe4cent in favor the right to keep and BEAR arms whenever necessary. If it ever came down to that I will come live with you and bring my like minded friends along.
However, the whole purpose of our established freedoms is to insure it does not become necessary. Our voices and votes are the most potent weapons we have atm. We must use them to the best of our ability.
If some bot goes after you I hope you shoot him twice. As I hope anyone will. If anyone sees a bot attacking another I hope they jump in and act like a real American. We must defend each other and ourselves.
People are abusing their rights in this election. The msm worst of all. However those rights still exist.

#54 antifish on 10.23.08 at 10:02 pm

#35 girlsrule,

I too once held the position that I would never own a gun and I’m retired from the Army. The biggest reason behind that was because of an incident that occurred while I was visiting my mom and brother when my son was about fifteen months old. I had put him down to sleep in a crib in my brother’s room. When I later went to check on him, he was sitting in the crib playing with a loaded .22 revolver that my brother had left laying on the dresser next to the crib. Needless to say, I freaked out.

My son is now 24 years old so, that is no longer a consideration. I bought a gun about a year or so ago when my neighbor set his pit bull on me when I went out to check on the noise he made while bashing in my mailbox with a beer bottle in the middle of the night. The police refused to do anything because he has a history of mental instability. Well, I hate it for him, but refuse to be terrified and fearing for my life on my own property as I was that night. I’m now armed with a .40 cal semi-automatic pistol and will use it the next time something like this happens.

#55 KarenWI on 10.23.08 at 10:02 pm

Sick, sick, sick — Obama Website Urges Grandkids to “Use the Love That Your Grandparents Have For You As a Weapon” Against Them

More hope and change…
A webpage at Barack Obama.com instructs young Obamatrons to “use their grandparents love against them” and get them to vote for the Marxisant radical.

Nelso at Blogs for John McCain discovered Obama’s latest disgusting election strategy:

Here’s more from the Obama webpage:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/stateupdates/gGglJ4

The one thing most grandparents have in common is that they have the most wonderful grandchildren in the world - so clever, so handsome, so pretty, ever so precious. Even if you are still unsure of your path in life, and even if your parents and friends occasionally wonder about you, your grandma and grandpa love you and have faith in you.

That is your weapon! “Precious” needs to get on the phone and say, “Grandpa, Grandma, I am asking you to vote for Barack Obama…

When it comes to your family, you are Barack’s most effective advocate. There are less than two weeks left in this election. If you haven’t already talked to your family, now is the time.

If you’ve already talked to your parents and grandparents about Barack and what’s at stake in this election, let us know how it went, and what advice you would offer fellow supporters who are thinking about having the talk themselves.

So is this supposed to represent hope and change?
Disgusting.

A few more details:

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― She calls it a political attack — a McCain campaign volunteer says she was attacked in Bloomfield.

Ashley Todd, 20, claims it all happened because she supports Sen. John McCain in the presidential race.

Todd claims she was robbed at knife point then roughed up.

Patrick Graham, the president of College Republicans in Pittsburgh, told KDKA that Todd works for the National College Republican Committee.

She’s been in Pittsburgh about a week.

Graham said Todd was on her way to meeting, when she reported robbery and assault took place.

“It’s a disgusting act of violence,” said Graham, “almost like a hate crime, because she was basically attacked because solely because of her political belief, and no other reason.”

Todd is a 20-year old Texas woman, a volunteer for the McCain-Palin campaign, who told police she was robbed and attacked by a man in Bloomfield.

A police report states that Todd said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday night near an ATM.

Todd said she made her ATM withdrawal and was approached from behind by a man who put a knife to her neck and demanded money.

She said she gave him $60 and managed to step away from the robber.

But, then Todd claimed the mugger spotted a McCain sticker on her car, and became angry.

She said she was punched in the back of the head, knocked to the ground and the man etched the letter “b” on the right side of her face.

Among other things, police are checking security cameras in the neighborhood to see what, if anything, they may have recorded.

A photo obtained by the Drudge Report website showed Todd after the alleged assault.

200 absentee military votes in jeopardy in virginia:

http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-10-23-0206.html

Rokey Suleman is the person responsible for attempting to invalidate over 200 absentee military ballots because the signature witnesses did not include their addresses Witness addresses are not required on any civilian form of absentee ballot used in VA.

Interestingly, Rokey Suleman is a recent hire and comes from OHIO.

If you’d like to ask Mr. Suleman why criminals are provided absentee ballots in their cells while active military are disenfranchised in VA because of technicalities, he can be reached at:

http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov

Under e-services on the right of the screen hit “Contact Fairfax County.” On the next page at the top of the screen appears the alphabet, hit E. On the next page go to Electoral Board/Absentee Ballot and hit the envelop at the end of the line. That will bring up the e-mail page. I’m not worried. Have you noticed the polls “Have tightened” ever since the AP poll showing just one point difference?
How much would you like to bet that the other polls will soon say the same thing. all we needed was one to break the ice and the rest will HAVE to either go along or show why they are getting such different results.

Yes, snowtiger, I am seeing the 2nd Amendment in a whole new light….I’m all for the best possible background checks, but I now support the 2nd Amendment. I see the rationale in the Founding Father’s views on the topic. Bad guys are going to get guns whether they’re legal or not. The good guys need to be able to protect themselves.

Repost from this morning.

I guess to “malafluster” means to cause someone to become “flustered in a bad way.” I really like Dances so I wouldn’t want to be malaflustered by her.

Also, I have a little tidbit from FOX NEWS this morning, if it gets viral could help McCain/Palin in a big way.
There was a gentleman in Chicago, I believe, that shot a man who was breaking into his house where his family was sleeping. They were going to prosecute him for having a gun in his house. It was overwhelming voted in favor of the man who was protecting his family, BUT GUESS WHO VOTED IN OPPOSITION? You are correct, IT WAS OBAMA!

This (still) looks like a good idea to me:

Hillary Clinton: Let’s Keep People in Their Homes
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=7954

I’ve proposed a new Home Owners’ Loan Corporation (HOLC), to launch a national effort to help homeowners refinance their mortgages. The original HOLC, launched in 1933, bought mortgages from failed banks and modified the terms so families could make affordable payments while keeping their homes. The original HOLC returned a profit to the Treasury and saved one million homes. We can save roughly three times that many today. We should also put in place a temporary moratorium on foreclosures and freeze rate hikes in adjustable-rate mortgages. We’ve got to stem the tide of failing mortgages and give the markets time to recover.

I stand by my theory that the polls are being manipulated to show BO ahead so his bots don’t act up before the election. I believe police departments all over the country are gearing up for the repercussions of his loss and do not need the distractions that bots would cause if his true standing in the polls were known..

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!!!

#147 alohapuma on 10.23.08 at 10:45 pm

The more I read the more I feel John McCain is really a good guy.

If rumors about the “whitey tape” are real at all, they all say John McCain said he wanted no part of it. Could be a ruse….

Then watching the video release today of McCain as a POW was heartwrenching. Think of the internal fortitude it took to pass over the early release an live in that hellhole.

Then to forgive. Bill Clinton said RECENTLY he could not have normalized relations with Vietnam without McCain’s blessing.

PUMA’s and other supporters have taken abuse, but think of the ongoing abuse John McCain endured without becoming a bitter broken loser.

The more I see, the more I think Sarah is the celebrity, but McCain is his own man and comes to the White House with less baggage than anyone in our history.

He was a “plug my nose” vote, but I’m turning to a real supporter.

I agree with you about John McCain….I feel the same way about him. The more I see and learn of him the more admiration and sincere respect I have for him. It’s truly a rare and exceptional human being who could do what he’s done re: early release from Viet Cong POW camp and having the internal wisdom and strength to forgive his former captors. I’m always astonished and awed by people who have that kind of strength and wisdom. It’s a very, very hard thing to able to do. Not many, even among the very best of us, have the ability. It’s truly exceptional.

The news I got tonight is that it’s a 2 point race in VA. It will all depend on voter turnout.

One of the speakers said that in the last election Kerry supposedly had the state by 3 points. VA went 8 points for Bush - an 11 point spread.

It gave me hope. Basically the national polls are meaningless.

I agree about McCain. He is a rare kind of person… honest, straight-forward… and one who has LIVED “country first” more than most of us ever will. We can trust him with this country. Also, he truly IS someone who is bipartisan. I saw on fox earlier this evening that BO had voted with the dems (I’m going from memory here and may be off by just one or two)
like 97% of the time, and McCain had voted with the repubs like 76% or something like that (it was definately in the 70’s)….

#166 VAKatforPalin on 10.23.08 at 10:59 pm

From http://www.powerlineblog.com/

Barack Obama has pretty well proclaimed himself President, and is already building the stage for his acceptance speech in Chicago. His supporters in the media are declaring the race over. This weekend the New York Times magazine will feature an elaborate “post mortem” on John McCain’s campaign, explaining why he lost the election. Democratic pundits are already salivating over the NYT magazine’s “analysis.”

I’m not posting the whole article but you get the idea…

#167 BrooklynNY on 10.23.08 at 10:59 pm

On Gretawire….Poll. Should Gov. Palin have to release her medical records re: birth of her children.

Results so far:

Yes, 3%
No, 97%.

#163 snowtiger on 10.23.08 at 10:57 pm

The bots did that in the primary also. It’s part of the Bozo strategy. He think it will suppress McCain support and people won’t bother to vote but most people that I’ve spoken to seem to think it backfires and just pisses people off. They get fired up to vote even more.

#169 alohapuma on 10.23.08 at 11:00 pm

________

Michigan Police Officers take on Obama….

Please pass this along everyone that you have on Your e-mail list because this is just the beginning — if
This arrogant, egotistical, super liberal, presidential Wannabe gets into office….God forbid
To all, I have read all of the emails from Law Enforcement & Military personnel about Barack Obama’s rudeness. And what seems to be disgust for basically anyone in Uniform.
Well, it’s my turn to add to the list of e-Mailers and here it is:

So members of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, (me included) and other local Agencies inside Calhoun County are working with Secret Service in the security of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama’s bus arrives in Battle Creek and pulls into the stadium area.

Before Mr. Obama exits the bus, he has the Secret Service get off and Tell all Law Enforcement personnel in uniform that they now Have to stand behind the bus so Mr. Obama is not seen with Anyone in a Law Enforcement uniform before he gets off or While in the public view.
So, everyone from Michigan State Police, Sheriff’s Departments and other agencies look at each other for a Brief second, go and stand behind the bus Out of sight so Mr. Obama does not have to see, or be Seen with, what to him is ‘undesirables’ since he Refuses to be seen, or even acknowledge Military or Law Enforcement personnel in uniform.

And he wants to be our commander-in-chief!
At a time of war and terrorism in our world, this Presidential candidate who is being protected by various Branches of the military & law enforcement at the tax Payers expense, refuses to acknowledge, be seen with, have In his photographed background, any type of Military or Law Enforcement in uniform. But this is not in the headlines or in The news or on TV.
The TV news doesn’t show us marching Around behind the bus. In the future, look and see if you Can see a single soldier or police officer in uniform when You see Obama.
Why? I wonder what the story or media Frenzy would be if it was Muslims, blacks, whites, Jews, or Any other race, gender, religon, and/or occupation, that Mr. Obama refused to be seen with or have around him.

Why would I make this up? Everyone in Law Enforcement Knows we have traditionally had more funding under Democrats.
Just food for thought leading up to November 4th.

Michigan State Police
Executive Board Member

#171 Woodie,

No, you are not paranoid. You are right. Obama is filled with hate and rage. One need only read his first book and look at his associates to discern the truth about him. It amazes me to no end that so many people can’t see it.

He will seek revenge against those he sees as oppressors if he gets the power to do so.

#179 BrooklynNY on 10.23.08 at 11:08 pm

O’Reilly just slammed that blond bot spokesperson. Wow. That was good. Didn’t let her pull the usual Ayers dodge. Called her on it, relentlessly. Perfect job, Bill.

#180 Seattlegirl on 10.23.08 at 11:08 pm

#175 snowtiger: Yeah I am sure the free kegger idea would work to suppress BO votes. Also the Republicans should be setting up free concerts of up and coming local bands in swing states to distract BOites from voting. A large number of BOs followers just desperately want to be in the middle of an “it” movement but an “it” free concert would give them the same sense of belonging and keep them away from the polls.

McCain-Palin 2008 Launches New Radio Ad: “Spread The Wealth”

GOVERNOR CHARLIE CRIST: Hi, this is Governor Charlie Crist.
Let me tell you why I support my friend John McCain.
He will lower your taxes.
He will stop wasteful government spending.

And John McCain knows that people don’t want to “spread the wealth.”

He knows that Congress should let you keep more of your money, and not take it away.
Thank you very much.

I would have changed this line in the script.

AND JOHN MCCAIN KNOWS THAT PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO SPREAD THE WEALTH.

TO:……..And John McCain believes that people know how to spread their own wealth, they do not need the government spreading it for them.

The other lines makes it sound like wealthy people are selfish. Which is not true, if it were true we would not have so many charites and causes.

Woodie, there are over 100 million armed citizens in this country. NOBODY is taking our guns.
When the so-called assualt weapons ban was placed here in Ca. gun owners had the option of registering their firearms with the sate. It is estimated that more than 250,000 did not. Only about 35,000 did.
In the first six months one criminal org. smuggled in and sold 500,000 such fire arms. Now get this. Before the ban there were about 300,000 such firearms in California. See most gun owners never had any use for the damn things. Innaccurate, low powered shoddily made noise makers for the most part. ( Iwouldn’t waste my money on one)
I would not want to be the president that tried to disarm America.

One thing that we all need to get across to the democrats who support Obama just because he is a democrat:

OBAMA IS NOT A DEMOCRAT!

While he might be running on the democrat label, he has flaunted and destroyed every principle the party once stood for. Fairness and equity between the genders was the first principle to fall. Equal treatment under the law feel next. Decency and everyone having a chance to participate without fear (the B attack on the young lady this week, along with all kinds of thuggery) was next. Honesty, intergrity and ethical behavior fell early on. Following the law (election fraud) was never practiced by him and his followers. Upholding the Constitution, especially the first amendment fell by the wayside when he accused anyone who opposed him of racism, and further eroded when he voted for FISA and then even more when his campaign organized truth squads. The party’s long standing support and assistance to those who were helpless was totally disregarded when he blocked the born alive legislation that would have given aid and comfort to babies who had survived abortions.

He is like no Democrat that I can identify. He is not a democrat.
