Just think of the change Obama can bring the U.S. if the 600 million from his campaign was given to the 304 million people who live here. Now that would be change!

#890 kevink,

Yes, the small donors. The population of the U.S. is 303,824,50. That means if the small donors each gave 1.97 million , the 600 million donated for his campaign would come out right?

#490 mick - My husband is black, my children and grand children are bi racial. I am from California, have lived in Co, Tx, Indiana....It is a racist term used by people towards blacks, and it wasn't said by "damn yankees". I will have nothing more to say on this subject. I still find it offensive.

I got this in the mail today thought it was interesting

Question: What is the ONLY National Guard unit on permanent active duty?
Answer: 49th Missile Defense Battalion of Alaska National Guard
Question: Who is the Commander in Chief of the 49th Missile Defense Battalion of Alaska National Guard?
Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska

Question:? What U.S. governor is routinely briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counter terrorism?
Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska

Question:? What U.S. governor has a higher classified security rating than either candidate of the Democrat Party?
Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska Commander of the:49th Missile Defense Battalion of Alaska National Guard
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets. She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.
Now you know too, please, pass this on.

**** CNN - Lies - and Gov. Palin ****

I'm soooo SICK of this kind of BS from the drive-by media. In an attempt to paint the conservative National Review Online in a negative light, they lifted the words "incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt or all of the above" out of a sentence and then put their own spin on it. We can mark 2008 as the year that ethical journalism died. Every story, every interview is suspect. Sad.

Don't hold your breathe for CNN or reporter Drew Griffin to come out with the truth.

National Review Online
Palin and CNN [by Byron York]

A bit more on CNN's "quote" from National Review in its story on Sarah Palin. In the CNN interview with Palin, aired today, reporter Drew Griffin said to Palin:

GRIFFIN: Governor, you've been mocked in the press, the press has been pretty hard on you, the Democrats have been pretty hard on you, but also some conservatives have been pretty hard on you as well. The National Review had a story saying that, you know, I can't tell if Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt or all of the above.

PALIN: Who wrote that one?

GRIFFIN: That was in the National Review. I don't have the author.

PALIN: I'd like to talk to that person.

GRIFFIN: But they were talking about the fact that your experience as governor is not getting out. Do you feel trapped in this campaign, that your message is not getting out, and if so who do you blame?

Actually, no one wrote the "quote" that Griffin read to Palin. But I began a recent magazine piece (unfortunately not available on the web, but hopefully coming soon) on Palin this way:

"Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it's sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above. Palin, the governor of Alaska, has faced more criticism than any vice-presidential candidate since 1988, when Democrats and the press tore into Dan Quayle. In fact, Palin may have it even worse than Quayle, since she's taking flak not only from Democrats and the press but from some conservative opinion leaders as well."
