Made in America

Barack Obama may have been born in America, but he seems to have been “made” somewhere else.

From Byron York at NRO:

In the audience Saturday [at the McCain rally in Virginia], there were plenty of people who were mad about [Joe the Plumber]. There was real anger at this rally, but it wasn’t, as some erroneous press reports from other McCain rallies have suggested, aimed at Obama. It was aimed at the press. And that’s where Tito Munoz came in.

After McCain left, as the crowd filed out, Munoz made his way to an area near some loudspeakers. He attracted a few reporters when he started talking loudly, in heavily-accented English, about media mistreatment of Wurzelbacher. (It was clear that Spanish was Munoz’s native language, and he later told me he was born in Colombia.) When I first made my way over to him, Munoz thought I was there to give him the third degree.

“Are you going to check my license, too?” he asked me. “Are you going to check my immigration status? I’m ready, I have everything here. Whatever you want, I have it. I have my green card, I have my passport — “

I was a little surprised. Did Munoz really bring his papers with him to a McCain rally? I asked.

“Yeah, I have my papers right here,” he said. “I’m an American citizen. Right here, right here.” With that, he produced a U.S. passport, turned it to the page with his picture on it, and thrust it about an inch from my nose. “Right here,” he said. “In your face.”

Munoz said he owned a small construction business. “I have a license, if you guys want to check,” he said.

Someone asked why Munoz had come to the rally. “I support McCain, but I’ve come to face you guys because I’m disgusted with you guys,” he said. “Why the hell are you going after Joe the Plumber? Joe the Plumber has an idea. He has a future. He wants to be something else. Why is that wrong? Everything is possible in America. I made it. Joe the Plumber could make it even better than me. . . . I was born in Colombia, but I was made in the U.S.A.”

The scene turned into a mini-fracas when David Corn, of Mother Jones, defended press coverage. Munoz was having none of it. Why, he asked, would the press whack Joe the Plumber when it didn’t want to report on Obama’s relationship with William Ayers, the former Weather Underground bomber? “How come that’s not in the news all the time?” Munoz said. “How come Joe the Plumber is every second? I’m talking about NBC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN.”A black woman with a strong Caribbean accent jumped in the fray. “Tell me,” she said to Corn, “why is it you can go and find out about Joe the Plumber’s tax lien and when he divorced his wife and you can’t tell me when Barack Obama met with William Ayers? Why? Why could you not tell us that? Joe the Plumber is me!”

I am Joe the Plumber!” Munoz chimed in. “You’re attacking me.”

“Wait a second,” Corn said. “Do you pay your taxes?”

“Yes, I pay my taxes,” the woman said.

“Then you’re better than Joe the Plumber,” Corn said.
That set off a general free-for-all. “I’m going to tell you something,” Munoz yelled at Corn. “I’m better than Obama. Why? Because I’m not associated with terrorists!”

Read the rest — it’s worth it.

The reporter from Mother Jones believes people who pay their taxes are “better” than people who owe the government money. That, Folks, in a nutshell is the NeoLiberal approach to ethics and morals — reflexively condescending and profoundly hypocritical at the same time, just exactly like the Radical Right.

Miq2xu posted an excellent article related to this last night.

Gosh darn the MSM and the DONC for putting our nation through this. First they gleefully swarmed Hillary out of the race like a pack of rabid, sexist dogs — just to show us that a woman’s job is ALWAYS to help a man, no matter how incompetent and inexperienced he may be. “Shut up, Hillary. Sit down, Hillary.” That’s what they fed us every single gosh darn day and night during the primaries. The overriding message, from February to August, was “When will Hillary GO AWAY??”

And now they’re going after little guys: Joe, Tito, even baby Trigg. And I am SO SICK of being forced to participate in the virtual group-sexual-assault that the MSM is perpetrating on Sarah Palin. Enough. The freaks in the Radical Leftwing, who share with us daily their sexual fantasies involving Palin and some instrument of humiliation, are beyond the pale to me.

If there is ANYTHING good that comes out of this horrible psychodrama of an election it will be the permanent EXILE of the NeoLiberals. The collosal failure and disaster perpetrated on our country by George and Dick and Donald succeeded in making neocon a dirty word. A very good thing. Obama and the DONC’s hit job on Hillary, their assault on the working class, and their exposure as actually being, at the end of the day when all is said and done, pretty freaking UNAMERICAN will similarly discredit the NeoLiberal Freaks who are still holding our party hostage.

But keep your eyes on the prize, Pumas. We pay the ransom on November 4th.

ACTION LIST for OCTOBER 21, 2008

  • Call the Obama Press Office and ask them when Sen. Obama will be releasing his Small Donors List. Hillary made hers available. So does John McCain. It is HOGWASH for the obama campaign to claim that they “don’t keep track of the information.” It is a LIE. Call today. Call often. Spread this phone number around and ask your friends to call: 312-819-2423.
  • Call the Obama Press Office and ask them when Sen. Obama will be making a public statement denouncing the Terry Tate Youtube, the Palin pornographic film, and the relentlessly sexist and degrading attacks by his followers on Gov. Palin. Ask the Press Office when the Senator will be calling for his supporters to STOP the attacks on voters who oppose him! Call today: 312-819-2423.
  • Go to our  Action Center for graphics, flyers, postcards, and other ideas on getting the word out on the streets.  JOIN Puma PAC for mass action alerts (always free and fun; we NEVER share email or spam you).
  • Meet Harriet Christian in Manhattan on Saturday and Sunday from now until the election.  She is rounding up a posse to go to Scranton, PA to canvass in coordination with Democrat’s for McCain.  If you’re interested, send her an email at hchristian at infnyc dot com.  The buses leave from 31st Street and 8th Ave at 9:00AM.
  • Join Paulie and MariLu and Real Democrats on their canvassing Bus Tour of Ohio. They are having HUGE success reaching out to Democrats and Independents and also having HUGE fun doing it! Click HERE to join them.
  • Help Heidi Li and Marc Rubin get more ads on the air.  Visit Democrats for Principle before Party and make a donation.
  • Visit johnmccain.com to make phone calls from home. You don’t have to sell your soul to the Republican Party to take this action. Simply call voters in swing states and tell them the TRUTH about WHY you are not voting for Obama. If you’ve forgotten all the reasons, read through the comments HERE for succinct, heart-felt, and inspirational reasons.
  • Find a Puma Buddy to canvas or flyer with this weekend and next. In comments, shout out what area you’re in and ask for a buddy. If you are anywhere near a city in most of the 50 states, you will soon find at least one helpful Puma to join you. Greenfun and Billiejo in the Berkely CA area just got back from a weekend of canvassing in Reno and they had great fun while doing great work. You can too!
  • Tell your friends to tune into blogtalkradio programs.  There are a wide variety to suit everyone’s taste and you will get to meet a lot of new friends from all over the country.  Tonight, you can Chew the Fat with Ophelia, from The New Agenda tonight at 10PM EST.  Join Amy Siskind and Dr. Violet Socks talk about how women from both sides of the aisle can find common ground, work towards the 30% solution and move women’s issues forward for a better society for all. Dr. Lynette Long will be on this week with Sheri Tagg. Tune your cat channels to Puma United Radio (PURrrr!) and spread the word!

Oh, and here’s a picture of Sarah Palin that reminds me of the famous Hillary in the rain in a shiny black leather jacket picture from the primaries. Sarah Palin is a woman in control. And that’s pretty awesome.

Unless the Obama Campaign applies for a withdrawal of admission and shows GOOD CAUSE, as of today, October 21, 2008, the Obama Campaign has legally admitted that Barack Hussein Obama is ineligible to hold the office of Presidency. Full coverage of this court proceeding can be read here: http://www.americasright.com/

This is a re-post from late last night.

Just a very small sample of our Nevada prowling. I do mean a small example because BillieJo brought about 40 different flyers…in english, spanish, about ACORN, caucus fraud-you name it.

Murphy, excellent post (brought tears to my eyes).

See, people get it. Sweet, small town, honest, generous, hard working AMERICANS get it. We are all Joe the Plumber, and as such NOBAMA is our enemy.

There is a real disconnect between the media and supposed intellectuals/liberals. These people are so smart they cannot see how dumb they are, but ask any ‘average’ american (avoid Harlem though) and they can quote you pages on what is WRONG with Nobama.

This is really a universal historical fight between good and evil. Today it is just being fought with access to television/radio and money; a century ago it was fought with guns; 3 centuries ago fists.

Hopefully right will best wrong this year. We cannot be working hard enough to see this happen….

The story about Obama supporters’ tires slashed at his rally, only 11 claims have been filed, of the 30 reported by the newspaper.

Annnnnnd! Read this:

“A similar incident was reported Oct. 2, she said.

Five people reported that the tires of their vehicles were slashed while they were attending a concert by recording artists Trace Adkins and Alan Jackson, Tanna said.”

So it may be indigenous to the area, not WHO the cars belong to.

It could be people from the area who don’t want cars parked there.

I know in Philly, back in the 60s, at Connie Mack Stadium, you’d have to pay the neighborhood kids “protection money” so your car would be in one piece when you returned from a Phillie game.

Bottom line, if you go to the Colliseum, don’t park on Wilkes Road.

I’m here earlier than usual this morning because I am so upset about what is going on in the important states concerning voter fraud. FOX has announced actual VOTER FRAUD, not simply voter registration fraud. And then there are the voters in Florida that arrive to vote with ballots all filled out, where all they have to do is copy what is on their copy of the ballot. It is thought that many ase non English voters are concerned in this practice.
My fear is growing with every report of FRAUD that OBAMA AND HIS GANG may actually pull off a fraudulent election. They did it in the primaries.

#16 BrianH on 10.21.08 at 10:01 am

freddie, you’re prob’ly unconscious by now, but about naming links:

two issues;
1) standard html permits labelling/titling a link anything you want. Here is the usual format:
<a href=”URL goes here”>label/title goes here</a>
2) TinyUrl.com is a site that permits “squashing” of a long URL into a short one. Basically, it keeps a file of entered URLs with randomly generated short ’strings’ that can be used to link to the full one. They promise never to wipe the file.
NOW, they have added another “layer” — you can tie any word or phrase to the same URL and use that instead. But you have to keep track of your own assigned labels; they don’t have a personalized list function yet. And you can’t make a new one later for the same URL if you forget your first one. I use a special permanent Save file in the ClipMate package to hold mine.

re-post because I think it’s important , and there seems to be a growing consensus around the web ;

Last week it was reported that the Bush admin had been bringing both candidates in for security briefs by the CIA so that there transition will be more smooth regarding National Security Issues .
Now Biden is coming out and saying he ‘guarantees’ we will be faced with some kind of ‘test’ during the first 6 months .
Here’s the part that gets me – he goes on to say that we will not agree with the ‘direction’ the Obama admin is going to take in this conflict .
What we also know is that Israel has contemplated bombing Iran if Obama gets in because they don’t trust that he will side with Isreal .
SOOO – I think they may have some idea of Isreals real plans and I also think that Obama has decided to side with Muslims and Iran and will try to sell us his plan , and that’s what Joe is talking about when he says we won’t agree with Obama’s decision .
This is my theory and gut feeling , and I think all of America needs to really consider what their position is on protecting Isreal and they should know what’s at stake here …

Obie’s trip to Hawaii is regarding the b/c not to slight the grandmother, next week he will have a stamped sealed b/c. He wants to tie up any lose ends. Although I know it won’t happen but we Americans should be asking “who is the real Barak Obama” because we really don’t know he has not shown us his legitmate b/c so we are all in the dark and this man might(gasp) be our president elect this time next month.

Shasta—early voting started yesterday in FL, I received a notification along with a sample ballot and places where to vote early.

I posted this comment a couple of weeks ago but in view of Biden’s comments, and possibly his inside information, I believe its worth reposting.

AN UNFOLDING SCENARIO: While people in general speculate of the financial crisis as a basis for which to elect the next president, a far more ominous cloud looms over the election outcome. November 4th could usher in a sequence of events that have little to do with sub-prime mortgages and everything to do with the survival of western civilization. Alarmist? Follow me on this. Detach yourself from parochial interests and take a serious look of what’s happening in the world. The situations in several countries are unraveling beyond redemption and they are all leading to an inevitable end game. The tipping point that will trigger events is the US election and most definitely, the election of Obama.

The most eminent, although not the most serious, is Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda has a bead on the US and they recognize our vulnerable financial situation. They realize that our president is paralyzed and our democratic congress will be complicit and even helpful in our own demise. They will be very careful to keep their intentions under wraps until after the election. Their dream scenario will be Obama in the White House, as CINC and the reelection of a “surrender-is-the-only-option” congress. They know that a major terrorist attack on US interests before the election will virtually assure McCain’s election and maybe even boot out most of the cowards in the democrat congress; that would not serve them well. Look for an attack after the election and before Bush leaves office. They would love to attack us on Bush’s watch but only after we have safely installed their man in the White house. This attack will probably occur even if McCain is elected but the following scenario will more likely unfold if we elect Obama:

The key players in this intriguing chess game are Israel and the Iranian theocracy. The countries and players that will be brought into the mix are primarily the US, Lebanon, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas and most essentially the ordinary people of Iran. Other players might be Al Qaeda, Somalia and perhaps Russia.

It could possibly unfold as follows: Israel will conduct a fast, minimal strike on high value, high visable targets in Iran. This will be carefully designed to irritate the Mullahs and alert the well organized Iranian dissidents. We will be counting on Iran to lash out primarily at US interests in Iraq and our gulf fleet; (if they don’t take the bait, we may have to fake it). Israel will have to be ready to aggressively take on Syria and Lebanon’s Hezbollah who will be immediately set in motion by Iran. Our ground forces in Iraq will already be in preemptive posture. The US, being the US, will probably try to generate a rapid coalition and UN consensus to strike back; the president may try to involve congress and he won’t get much support there either but it won’t matter; all this is only window dressing. The war plans for striking Iran have been fine tuned for years and the means to carry it out have been already prepared and prepositioned. We will strike very hard and decisively on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and Quds force. We will destroy their Navy, Air Force, Army and their defensive systems. The bulk of the fight will be the responsibility of our Navy but USAF B-2 bombers, remotely controlled air attack and reconnaissance vehicles and other assets will prep the battle area. Israel will then conduct their real strike against the Iranian nuclear weapons facilities. Israel already has the aircraft, advanced weapon systems and over-flight permission, all from us, to succeed. They will be able to refuel in Iraq and strike deep into Iran. American efforts will have already cleared the battle space for Israel’s attack force. With Iran’s Revolutionary Guard crippled, the Iranian resistance groups will have to roll the dice and oust the Mullahs. This is an essential move on the Battle Chess board, if the Iranian people sit on their hands it could get ugly fast. I am confident that our CIA and SFs operatives are prepping the battle space already. If the Iranian people rebel against their leaders it will give us the diplomatic cover we think we need. We don’t operate like Russia. There will probably be a broader scope to this plan to include other trouble spots like the horn of Africa where Al Qaeda pirates are causing so much mischief. The overall operation will not stretch us as much as some may fear, the vast bulk of the effort will be on our Navy and Air Force with the Army and marines playing mostly defense. Israel will play their key part. At this point in time we have total world military dominance in the area of Air and Sea, if we elect Obama, in our future not so much. The odd man out in all of this is Putin; he may use the distraction to move on the Caucasus if he believes us to be distracted. The Russian military is no match for ours but they do have interests in Iran that could complicate things and they have a growing alliance with the unsavory Hugo Chavez and his nascent military. The world could unravel.

I don’t profess to have any inside classified information but I can see what’s going on in the world and I have a background that gives me some insight. I was a primary player in CENCOM, in logistic planning and in the prepositioning of war assets in the Gulf region during the lead up to the first Gulf war. In view of the continuing turmoil in the Middle East, I can confidently assume that those planning efforts are ongoing. In short we have a plan and all assets in place to finally finish off the most dangerous regime we have had to deal with since the end of the cold war. America has been itching to bring down these terrorist enablers since Jimmy Carter so generously brought them to power.

These events may unfold at some time in the future regardless of the election, but if Obama is elected the clock will be ticking until his inauguration. Israel knows that Obama will never carry out this ambitious plan and they will be totally incapable of carrying it out alone. If McCain is elected the plan may be put on hold to let him put his stamp of approval on it. It’s pretty certain that McCain will not allow Iran to go nuclear and Israel may take heart that they will not be abandoned. If we go into an Obama administration without taking any kind of action, a stable middle east and Israel will be lost (and we and Europe won’t be far behind.) For America it will be the most dire time in our history since the Civil War; for the world, only one word need discribe it, Armageddon! You can sleep soundly until November fourth.

good morning PUMAs

my to-do list for today:

–call Obama press office about small donors list
–call back from yesterday to Obama press office to talk to a real person about Obama’s lack of concern over misogyny & hate-mongering
–call Reebok about Tate video
–gird my loins, take my pills, put on my Hillary baseball cap, then (shiver) go to the local McCain headquarters to see how I can help in my ‘hood
–print up a bunch of PUMA flyers & share generously
wherever my journeys take me today

–lastly, try to come up with an effective One Liner for anyone who confronts me about That One. My current best: November 4 is no longer about Democrat versus Republican … it’s now about Fascism versus Democracy

Good morning Dear Pumas:

MURPHY – you mentioned you were looking for a link regarding the polling indicating the swing states – think you were referring to Rasmussen as follows:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll
===============================
You will see on this Page each states polls – swing states as of yesterday FLORIDA – 49-48% for McCain – BO has 3% lead with women – MISSOURI – 49-44%BO -
7% lead with women – OHIO 49-47% MCain – even with both women and men – N CAROLINA – 51-48 BO -6% lead with women – but McCain only 1% lead among men – VIRGINIA – big lead for Obama – 54-44% with a 5% lead with women and 3% lead with men
COLORADO – 51-46% BO – whopping 14% lead with women for BO.

As you said so rightly so Murphy – the PUMA WOMEN and independent men will have to decide this election -

I know everyone thinks Rasmussen is in the tank for BO – but being in advertising for 20 years as I have been – if that is the case – why is McCain advertising so much on the Rasmussen pages – you would think he would know that and it would be just the opposite – in my humble advertising opinion.

#32 Gogandalf on 10.21.08 at 10:17 am

I will be blogging on my above list of swing States – can someone give me an idea on how to target the womens issues such as the 14% in Colorado going for THAT ONE – is it they do not like Gov Palin – Roe vs Wade – I want to direct all my blogs to get that % down from BO – I can not accept they ALL drank the kool aide – just can’t put my finger on why so many go his direction (I know – I agree – polls are fickle and you can’t trust their results – but just in case – please humor me – it won’t hurt to try that approach) up to now I have going for the Acorn, Ayers, Rezko, etc etc etc routine – we need to sway others with their own arguments against BO…please….

#33 wontbackdown on 10.21.08 at 10:17 am

Well, I had a REAL experience over the Tate Video prowl:

Sent someone to the PUMA site. Although this person repeatedly stated: “I do not believe a single word the mainstream media prints, because they are bought and paid for – but, if all this was true about Obama, McCain would be telling all of these facts on every campaign stop, every ad” etc., etc., etc.

My answer, “Is it McCain’s job to spoon-feed voters the facts about the candidates – do you really care about your vote, why you vote, what your vote supports or rejects?”

Went round and round for over an hour.

Outcome: Called PUMAS a bunch of lunatics, crazy, radicals, etc. and me “TRASH!” and hung up.

P.S. I want to personally thank everyone one of you on this person’s behalf. Your tax dollars contribute each and every month to this person’s disability check.

No matter what a person’s ideology, you must admire Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton.

They have shown all the world how strong American women are, once and for all.

With all the trash thrown at them, they never miss a beat. They don’t complain and stay focused on the important issues.

They never blink!

I am so proud of both of them. And of all women. (Except for those far-left who villify Palin and Hillary)We have never really had a chance to be on center stage, here in America. (Except for Ferraro where there wasn’t as much trash thrown at her)

Look at other parts of the world, there has been Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher, Indira Ghandi, Mrs. Bhutto.

We’re supposed to be the most progressive nation and yet where leadership by women is concerned, we’re one of the most oppressive.

Other than Pelosi whose leadership, gives women a bad name, we have never really spotlighted such strong women.

Sarah and Hillary shine as examples of leadership by women in America.

I know some Hillary supporters are disappointed she is campaigning for Obama, but she’s a woman of her word. Unlike him.

I just had to speak from my heart.

So, Al Quaeda will attack us AFTER the election, even if McCain is elected?

and additionally, Israel and the US have a coordinated, long-planned scheme to attack and destabilize Iran starting after the election but BEFORE January 20?

And this Israel-US v Iran plan is what Bush briefed McCain and Obama about last week, AND it is the reason Biden was being so cryptically scary the other day?

MKfromLA — jenni is referring to the preposterously ignorant responses a reporter in Harlem received from people who said they were voting for Obama on the “issues.” They didnt even know that Biden was Obama’s running mate, and didnt bat an eye when the reporter claimed that Obama was anti-abortion, just like his running mate Sarah Palin.

It’s not limited to Harlem though. It’s also not limited to the Dem Party. Most of us dont vote with a very deep knowledge of the candidates’ positions or platforms.

Gogandalf – i always point out that we have had the Most pro-life President EVER for the last 8 years and Roe v Wade hasn’t come up . Further , Stevens (chief justice )has said it was precident and had no interest in reviewing it . I hope that helps .
One more thing , most Americans believe in “choice’ but don’t like abortion , so I would also mention that , when discussing late term abortion survivors , Obama refused to allow a living , breathing , crying infant to be called a baby , but demanded that they only call it a ‘Fetus’ in order to deny the infant life saving measures .
I am a pro-choice Liberal , and that is just too much for me to stomach …

Monday (today) we petitioned the Hawai’i Supreme Court to order Obama’s secret birth records released.

How did Obama respond? He suddenly discovered that his grandmother, who had supposedly been released from her hospital a week ago, when he showed no interest in her, needed his immediate attention. Cool, calm, collected Obama suddenly suspended his campaign and headed for Hawai’i.”

To the first question , it has been , so far a unilateral (Israel) threat to attack Iran if they fear that the leadership in the US will no longer be supporting them .

What does “rich” mean anymore? It has two meanings. I’ll start with the less obvious but more important definition.

First, “rich” is one’s personal value. Who you are, what you do, how you affect the world in positive ways. Personal growth through assisting others is one way in which we can become “rich.”

The other defintion of “rich” is the one which provokes morbid hatred and is often used to incite class warfare – that being monetary wealth.

I can assure you those making $250,000/yr are not rich. There are two reasons for this.

First, let’s assume the $250,000 is a single income. Anyone making a salary like this is entitled to enjoy it. Their lifestyle may include a nice home, vehicle and some luxuries. When you add up the cost of maintaining a lifestyle at the $250K level, 70 to 80% of this income is spent. Sure, it’s nice to have the ability to grow a nest egg like that, but some people (who make minimum wage) think these “rich” folks should eat at McDonalds and give their nest egg to the Federal government. They shouldn’t be penalized for getting an education, working hard and achieving.

Next, there are small businesses. These folks work. I mean they WORK. For example, I am available for my clients 12 hours, 6 days per week. Do the math. I barely scrape by. If every hour of my day were full of client interchanges, I would be really well off, but that is unrealistic and never going to happen.

Another example, a small mom&pop pizza shop (I’ve seen their books) located in a small town does quite well for themselves. They consistently clear $10,000 each week. That’s $500+K/yr. That sounds like a freakish amount of income; however, they also barely scrape by. You see, there are amny factors communists like Obama love to overlook. The main factor being “cost of doing business.”

When you run a business, you have expenses. Suppliers aren’t going to give you what you need for free and there is that ever present light bill which needs to be paid. Going back to the mom&pop pizza shop, their labor costs average 25% of their gross income while their food costs average another 40% of their gross. That’s 65% off of the top. Throw in overhead costs (electricity, gas, professional fees, maintenance, non-perishiable stock, etc) and the cost of doing business shoots up to an average of 85%. This leaves a profit of only 15%. You say, “well, they are taking home $1,500 per week.” Noooooooooo. They are paying 65% income taxes. They take home roughly $500 per week (after working 80+ hours.)

Then, they get to pay their own bills. Say bye-bye to that $500-ish and say hello to “tired as hell and heading back into the shop for another round.”

Raising taxes on these folks will put them in a hole… if not out of business.

Does anyone need further explanation?

Al Quaeda attacked the US in 1993, the first year of President Clinton.

Al Quaeda attacked the US in 2001, the first year of Georg W. Bush.

And if their history repeats itself, Al Quaeda will probably try again next year, the first year of the new President.

So what else is new?

I noticed that trend in 2001, after 911. That’s Al Quaeda’s M.O.D.

They want to test the new President. That’s why they did it in the first year of Clinton’s and Bush’s presidency.

#19Texastigress: I think you are correct. Let me add a few more tidbits re the Executive Order prepared but not YET signed by Bush, which I and some others have mentioned periodically, in relation to your comments . After the order was prepared, and it was a while back, can not remember, I looked it up and read enough of it to see and understand its purpose was to give the authority to the President,if any event in the world occurred that threatened the interests of America to assert martial law in this country. That is how general it is…any event considered threating to our interts…
One report in the news indicated that this came as a result of the possiblily of a Barack Obama Presidency,
Specifially they did not want him and his views to have the aegis of deciding Middle East issues like Iran , et all
given his comments indicating a too close of leaning to radical Muslim groups, et al. Since the order is so general…it does not have to be a war…anything that is judged to be a threat to American interests.

How does that fit with Texas Tigress thoughts?
I would say folliong the premise of the Ex order, if Obama wins, then an event would happpen before the Inauguration and martial law would be called befor then!
This could also happen if McCain is elected President.
And, given the general nature of the order: if Georgie Poogies handlers want to ..they could say…this credible threat at some point . while he is still President is enough to call martial law as a .precaution for who knows whatever…
For Biden to stand there and say what he said about what he learned and use it as an attempt to generate support of Obama is a disgusting outrage…moreover, as others have stated here, all he really did was underline one more reason why not to elect this inexperienced continually morphing hologram who indicated once again when he selected Biden, the speaker of these words, how pathetic his (Obama) and Biden’s judgment are!
All of this in my view is a series of effects from 8 years of radical right rule and 8 years of neoLiberal, radical left complicity in Congress from Democrats no matter what their grandstand views after the fact state . and most importantl, given the moves of that party in this campaign cycle, in which, rather than correct, they one up, two up and are even worse in their methods used than the radical right nuts. Murphy is correct here for sure.
For 6 years I have said to friends, etc. that what really is going on and now with the financial situtaion here, I believe it more thorough is that the top % financial
world order, globalization, countryless 19th century Adam Smith greed monger money changers of BOTH RIGHT WING AND DEMOCRAT PARTY have not been in agreement on how things should be structured here to do their bidding and during this cycle some who had supported Bush support Obama…And guess what?
Very few of either support McCain, because he is much more a traditional Republican, than their own party leadrs (ultra right) have seen or wanted for 25 years.
The world oligharcial 1% ers are playing a real life monopoly game with the world and specificall y now here in American are clearly redefining and repostioning for their desires as they move on.
We must defeat Obama at all costs to our energy, mind and hearts. It is possible. It is happening …Onward

I give BO this he is not a dumb man (god that hurt just saying that) but on the flip side he is so transparent it’s not funny. Remember when the “family took a vacation in Hawaii (when the first talks of the Birth Certificate came out) . Then when all this is going down in Ohio with the hearings on fraud and Jennifer Brunner was fighting it , where did BO go to prep for his last debate OHIO.. the debates where in NY but he went to Ohio (and we all know the judge ruled in Brunner’s favor) now when Andy Martin is in Hawaii BO is again going there to see his “sick Grandmother”.

I hear you Texas. It is a “very difficult” issue.

The sad part is that, until now, I had never wanted to consider what can happen beyond the “procedure” — and the perimeters used to define the various stages under “law”.

Oddly, that is the whole issue in this election: Being fully informed on any issue involving our positions on the choices we — or our political parties (thus, our government) — make.

Today, more than ever, our country’s future, maybe very survival, depends on “average” Americans being hands-on!

I heard Corsi on the radio a few days ago, on the web. I believe it was on World Net. He’s one of their correspondents.

Corsi talked about his trip to Kenya and proof he has that Obama, from his US Senate office, discussed Odinga’s strategy for election as President. Corsi also stated he has phone records of Obama and Odinga. Obama also, as you know, had Mark Lippert as his point man. Lippert was with Obama in Kenya in 2006, also.

He’s supposed to release more info soon. Check with World Net:

and MK you are forgiven….I went back and read my post and I should have put a tag in it to Howard Stern (whom I detest but I thought that interview was shocking and a tad bit funny)….

Murphy is 100% right ignorance is running rampant from NEW YORK to CA to MI to FL and it crosses every economic, social, gender, sexual, age, and other line.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, PUMA is made up of a beautiful cross section of this country and I am dang proud that we can make the claim and BACK IT UP that we are Joe the Plumber, we are every American, and we speak for America. We just decided to choose informed over ignorant, and country over party.

Every single day I am more proud of PUMA and the people who work on behalf of this organization. And while I have lost friends and business associates over our fight, the new friends and the true hope being here gives me is more than enough reward for what has been lost.

I had a LONG talk yesterday with a very wealthy Texas Family who are connected with important religious leaders in this country. They tend to vote Republican, but they voted for Hillary in the primary and WERE GOING TO VOTE FOR HER in the GE until the Demonazis stole her win. They feel that the SILENT MAJORITY is going to come through in the end and we will have a victory for McCain/Palin. They feel that the polls and the media are wrong, and that when the majority of Americans go to vote they will vote McCain/Palin. Their fear is voter fraud.

We agreed that this country needs a NEW PARTY–one that takes the best of all existing parties and comes forth to actually do the right thing. Whatever happens, we have so much work to do….

First things first, DEFEAT OBAMONSTER!!

new Orleans – I think the most ‘telling ‘ (foreshadowing ) statement Biden made was , “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

This can be summed up to simply state “get ready , America ’cause you’re not going to like what we are getting ready to do to you !”

#79 NewOrleansPuma on 10.21.08 at 11:11 am

Murphy: I had not read Brian H’s article posted nor your comments to it before I posted my comments to Texas Tigress at post 19. My coments re possible event seemed logical given reports after Bush;s construction of Executive Order. In any case, I have thought..well now what would be worse: Martial law under the ultra right mouth piece, George, or Barack Obamaand concession to the radical left regarding Israel…George Soros and others do not agree with many of Israel’s positions…re issues there.
And I am asking myself this question over the last 7 months in the United States of America! I who have no paranoid or consipiracy tendencies….in my bones.
Clearly neither of these possibilities is acceptable.
We will defeat Obama and will rebel if any martial law is called regardless for something outside of our country occurring prior to inauguration in Jan.

#23 MKfromLA Noticed you are going to go to a McCain office and volunteer. The phone bank at their offices are for registered Republicans requested Absentee Ballots.

FYI – When I did it, I found out that the fraud of ACORN…making them Rep. but using business phone numbers. I flagged them all especially the ones at a Perkins that had a Get Out The Vote for #61. Took me five calls to finally get it and confirmed it with the GM that allowed it that was also voting for #61.

I also put my name and phone number on them but knew the local office would not address. Finishing letter to report since I had to work yesterday.

NO WAY NO HOW NOBAMA…NOW OR EVER!

Thanks Kat — I’ll update the post.

Let us know what they say.

Hey Pumas, Get PROWLING, the day is YOUNG and Joe Biden is still a doofus.

ACTION LIST for OCTOBER 21, 2008

* Call the Obama Press Office and ask them when Sen.
* Call the Obama Press Office and ask them when Sen.
* Go to our Action Center for graphics, flyers, postcards, and other ideas on getting the word out on the streets. JOIN Puma PAC for mass action alerts (always free and fun; we NEVER share email or spam you).
* Meet Harriet Christian in Manhattan on Saturday and Sunday from now until the election. She is rounding up a posse to go to Scranton, PA to canvass in coordination with Democrat’s for McCain. If you’re interested, send her an email at hchristian at infnyc dot com. The buses leave from 31st Street and 8th Ave at 9:00AM.
* Join Paulie and MariLu and Real Democrats on their canvassing Bus Tour of Ohio. They are having HUGE success reaching out to Democrats and Independents and also having HUGE fun doing it! Click HERE to join them.
* Help Heidi Li and Marc Rubin get more ads on the air. Visit Democrats for Principle before Party and make a donation.
* Visit johnmccain.com to make phone calls from home.
* Find a Puma Buddy to canvas or flyer with this weekend and next.
* Tell your friends to tune into blogtalkradio programs.

Hey – I just got a very different response from John Cornyn (yuck) regarding the Logan Act Violation than jen got from feinstein yesterday ..

Dear Ms. *******:

Thank you for contacting me regarding elected officials interfering in U.S. negotiations with Iraq. I appreciate having the benefit of your views on this matter.

Under Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, the President is charged with conducting diplomatic relations with foreign countries. If any elected official interferes with diplomatic negotiations without having been requested to do so by the President, the United States cannot speak with a unified voice to other nations. Such an interjection sends the message that the United States is divided in fighting the War on Terror. Elected officials owe it to all Americans to establish a strategy for victory in the War on Terror and to support it with one voice.

I appreciate having the opportunity to represent the interests of Texans in the United States Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact me.

Sincerely,

JOHN CORNYN
United States Senator

By the same token, when John went to Harlem, the premise of his pop-vox was to use Senator McCains political positions and attribute them to obama to see if people in predominately black were voting based on race v issues.
I’ll assume that he edited out/didnt include those responses that didn’t lend themselves to the entertainment value and premise of his piece, i.e. those who challenged him, those who corrected or were otherwise informed about the issues and candidates.

here is the best simplest video to see to educate how the president is elected….it would be great for children in school……..it covers everything except that the electors are free to vote for how they want when they meet in December to cast the “OFFICIAL” vote for the president….we elect the delegates to represent us and the delegates are from a list based on what party wins that state and then they are free to vote for whoever they want….but that just complicates the matter…HUH?

FINALLY got through reading the LATE NIGHT Puma crew’s post and have to clarify a rumor that someone started – they saw just the last part of a clip from that STUPID David Letterman show – it was a joint rally with Sen Clinton and Sen Biden – which were real people – but then Letterman – switched the ending to someone (made everyone think it was Biden) that slapped Sen Clintons behind in a blue pantsuit – it was a prank – the type that he always inserts – was not true – just one of his little pranks – so hopefully that has cleared up – I don’t like Biden – but he did not do that.

Hi PUMAs,

I normally only lurk… but I am hoping you guys can do a PUMA prowl for the following info… if you can let people near Philly (and places close by) know about this rally, and encourage them to attend, FOX news and HBO will be covering it.
Thank you

=================
=================
HBO and FOX will be covering this – we need to get as many people there as possible!

Go to http://www.democratsforMcCain.com for more info.

DemocratsforMcCain.com has finalized plans for a big event in Philadelphia this Saturday, Oct. 25th. HBO will be covering the Event for a Special they are doing. Several other media outlets will be there.

The Event is from 11AM until 5PM. The start off point is The Constitution Center: Arch Street between 5th and 6th Streets in Philly.

The Event is Called: McCain Brotherly Love – A Liberty Event.

The Liberty Group will be a list of grass-roots organizations that will be marching and canvassing and rallying at the end of the Event. I was hoping you could get the word out to all your people and every possible organization supporting Senator McCain in New Jersey (that you know of). Have people go to my Web site for details: http://www.democratsformccain.com.

ATTN:

I called 312-819-3008

I spoke to a woman. Told her I was a Hillary supporter and registered democrat. Didn’t say I was a puma off the bat. I said that I was still undecided because I was concerned about TRANSPARENCY in the Obama campaign. I wanted to know if the small donors information would be released since I know that Hillary and McCain released their information.

This woman IMMEDIATELY ignored what I was saying and said: “I was a Hillary supporter as well, and I understand you may be undecided, but if you care about women’s rights and Roe v Wade, Obama is the right choice.

I said I wasn’t talking about women’s rights and abortion. I was talking about open transparency and honesty, and I wanted to know where half of his 1/2 a BILLION dollars was coming from.

She said: Where are you hearing this from? Obama released his amount $150 million just a few days ago.

I know. I am asking about the individual donors. This concerns me.

She told me to hold on, then she came back and told me that Obama doesn’t have to release small donor info ($250 and below) by law.

I said: I know that. The issue is transparency and openess because the McCain campaign has been open about their dealings.

She said that the republicans are trying to lie about Obama’s donations.

I said: So prove them wrong, and release the information.

She told me: You know, Hillary backs Obama 100%….women’s issues…something….

I said: Hillary? No, I am voting. Hillary has her vote, and the issue isn’t women’s issues. It’s honesty and openess and transparency.

She said: The republicans lie about everything so…

I said: So does Obama. That’s one of the reasons why I am undecided.

She sighed heavily–angrily. Then she said: well, they will not be released.

Then I said: Well, I won’t vote for him unless it’s released and I will protest and get my friends and family to protest.

She said: GoodBYyYYyeeeeee. And hung up.

SO call that number and tell them you want TRANSPARENCY and to release their small donor list because it is suspicious that he is the only candidate who refuses to do so. WARNING: The O staff will lie and pull the guilt trip garbage, just stay on topic.

1. US District Court, Eastern District, PA – Berg v. Obama, 08-cv-04083-RBS
2. Superior Court, Seattle, WA – Stephen Marquis – 08-2-34955-1 SEA
3. Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaii, Andy Martin – 08-1-2147-10

the ignorance isn’t limited to Harlem or some African Americans though. I can’t tell you how many conversations I’ve had over the past year where my mind has boggled over responses to why people *aren’t* voting for obama. No matter which side one supports, the least voters can do is inform themselves… altho, given overt media bias, that can be quite a quest. Voters probably believ they *are* informed!

Good Morning Pumas. Went to the Las Vegas airport yesterday and wore a McPalin Maverick t-shirt, I printed out Freddies black and white flyers and took them with me. I left them on cars at the airport, went to casinos and left them at slot machines, bathroom counters and at the valet desk when we left. I didn’t get any flack from any one but quite a few thumbs up! I am going back next week, so will be doing it all over again. Too much fun. Going to Grand Canyon for the day but not to many Americans, still taking some of the flyers and tape for the bathrooms.

Why I am voting Democrat!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending MY MONEY than I would. I think when you spread the wealth around it is good for everybody! It’s Patriotic!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. All profits are evil and should be confiscated for Government Redistribution.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe that MORE Government regulations and higher taxes on Business will stop Business from exporting their jobs to Countries with LESS Government regulations and lower taxes.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe terrorists should be allowed to have trials in American courts. And be able to subpoena top secret documents, soldiers, government officials, etc. to cross examine for their defense. They should have ACLU lawyers who can help intimidate Americans who serve on the juries!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe Gay Marriage should be the law of the land and will probably produce better children.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe English should not be the official language of the United States. I don’t mind pushing one for English when I use the phone.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe partial birth abortion is okay but water boarding a terrorist is disgusting.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe having a domestic terrorist like Bill Ayers as a close friend is a good thing. It allows for great relations with foreign terrorists.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe in a FREE government health care system. I believe doctors, nurses, hospitals, drug companies, etc. will gladly donate their time, products, services, facilities, etc. for FREE and that will be a better system.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe in and support trial lawyers, frivolous lawsuits and outrageous jury verdicts.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe 9/11 was an inside job to con the American people to go to war for oil.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe social security is solvent and that there is a social security lock box and I don’t believe social security is a Ponzi scheme.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe MOST AMERICANS are bitter and cling to their guns and religion. Let’s rid our country of guns and religion!
I’m voting Democrat because I believe illegal aliens deserve all the rights of ordinary Americans plus some additional rights Americans do not have.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe corporations should pay higher taxes! I believe higher taxes on business will make the price of their products and services LESS EXPENSIVE.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe groups like ACORN who register felons, drug addicts, wino’s, homeless drifters, illegal aliens, dead people, children, fictional Disney characters, etc. makes my vote count more.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe celebrating the winter solstice shows compassion for the small minority of people that do not celebrate Christmas.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe hard core criminal murders and rapists deserve life and that the innocent unborn deserve death. It’s a choice I can live with.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe Bush caused Hurricane Katrina and he blew-up the levies in the ninth ward of New Orleans.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe that any one who is not partaking in one of the many wonderful government programs obviously has too much money and should pay higher taxes.
I’m voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq the terrorists will be happy and now think of us as good people.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe our soldiers are AIR RAIDING villages and killing innocent people.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe sex in the Oval Office with an intern is a private matter and that everybody lies under oath about sex.
I’m votin Demokrat becuse I wus edumkated at a publick sckrool. I lik da Natsionel Edukatshun Assoseeashun!
I’m voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as it does not offend people. Can’t we all just get along?
I’m voting Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits are wrong. I believe higher taxes on oil companies will produce lower prices at the pump.
I’m voting Democrat because I believe we need to rid ourselves of dependency on foreign oil, BUT I AM AGAINST offshore drilling for oil and natural gas, drilling in Anwar, building nuclear power plants and clean coal technology.
And finally, I’m voting Democrat because I believe Reverend Wright when he said “GODDAMN AMERICA” and “OUR CHICKENS ARE COMING HOME TO ROOST”. Hey let’s make a comfortable nest for those chickens!
Why are you voting Democrat?

“Later in life when his mother was dying of ovarian cancer, he did not visit her at all. He later said he regretted that he didn’t. Another issue of poor judgment and lack of empathy for Barry’s OWN dying mother”.

Don’t know if you all heard about this, but my ex-best friend’s (now an Obamabot) mom who lives in Tampa told me about this when we spoke on the phone yesterday. Thought I would look up the story to get the particulars. What can be said about a candidate who inspires such behavior in his disciples (and they are disciples, not fans)?

Car displaying McCain sticker vandalized

Saturday, October 18, 2008

CLEARWATER (Bay News 9) — A Clearwater man’s vehicle that displayed a bumper sticker supporting John McCain has been defaced in what appears to be a hate crime, authorities say.

According to authorities, 41-year-old Frank Armstrong’s 2006 Lexus LS 430 was parked on the 1400 block of Gulf Boulevard when someone or a group of people scratched the letters “KKK” into the paint and burned a U.S. Flag on the vehicle.

Authorities say those involved also used cigarettes to burn several areas of the car and apparently urinated on the car.

Armstrong’s vehicle displayed a bumper sticker supporting the McCain campaign and another that was anti-Barack Obama leading investigators to believe the crime was racially or politically motivated.

No witnesses or surveillance video have been found.

(Dept. Of Justice)
DOJ attorneys in the bag for Obama?
Rosslyn Smith

“Quin Hillyer of the DC Examiner is asking whether we have public servants or stealth political partisans inside the Department of Justice.

In all, DOJ lawyers and staff in the metro area have donated at least $150,000 to Obama. No wonder they seem more interested in prosecuting those who warn against vote fraud than enforcing vote-fraud laws.
These are the attorneys who have the sole legal responsibility to assure fair elections under the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). From their inaction on the ACORN cases may we presume their legal interpretation of “fair” is Obama must win?”

Hello PUMAS.

I wrote to Sister Baird who is the Director of Race Relations for the Archbishop of Chicago re: Fr. Andrew Greeley’s racist comments:
October 15, 2008
Chicago Sun-Times
Father Andrew Greeley

“[Palin] is a racist wither her eye on the White House. She can stir up crowds to shout “kill him.” How can she ever justify silence when she heard a cry for lynching?

McCain increasingly acts like an angry, befuddled, cancer survivor and treats his rival like a field n***** who is just barely human.”

I got this response:
Ms. Ruffo,

I cannot speak for Fr. Greeley and would suggest that you address your
concerns about his comments regarding Sarah Palin directly to him. As
a citizen he certainly has the right to voice his opinion.
Informed readers have the obligation to search out the truth for themselves.

Unfortunately, racism has raised its ugly head during this election.
Whether or not someone actually shouted “kill him” has not been proven and I pray that it did not happen, but I do believe that both campaigns must stop the personal attacks and focus on the issues that we are facing as a nation.
This country will not survive if we are divided and fearful of one another.

The best thing that we can do as Catholics is to read Faithful Citizenship, vote with an informed conscience and pray to God that in the end we have elected the best persons to lead this nation for the next four years.

Sr. Anita Baird

I wrote back:

Sister Baird,

But you are the Director of Race Relations for the Archbishop. Are you telling me that you will not address this man who speaks for the church to the archbishop? Does the church turn a blind eye to people who represent them? He still calls himself a priest.

I do pray every day that the right person, the one who will guide our country in a Christian manner and protect the lives of all citizens, born and unborn, wins in November. I have great fear that like when Hitler was coming to power the church and the most powerful nations did nothing until it was too late for many millions of Jewish people.

I regret your inaction on this. Directing questions to the man himself, who obviously has no regard for his church, is fruitless in my estimation. I had hoped that in your position you could do your part to stop the madness. It seems all of Chicago is in a spell.

I hope that God blesses you and that your conscience is clear.
Sincerely,

Perhaps we all jumped the gun here, but just because she was not staying there does not mean that the order was not made.

At conventions and other large gatherings, it is not unusual to rent a suite for meetings and only for meetings. If I recall correctly, wasn’t that on the same date as the Memorial Dinner at the Waldorf?

#158 zephyr on 10.21.08 at 12:20 pm

Hey Murphy, until the NYPOST wrote the retraction …you didn’t know it was a false story. So I wouldn’t worry about it.

It’s very hard to discern what’s true or not anymore from any of the media sources. And then again …maybe they were paid to write the retraction…that’s what popped into my mind. Wouldn’t put it past NoBO and his campaign.

Can you believe this e-mail I got. As if I would let one of those thugs in my house. E-mail him and tell him what you think.

Across the country, hundreds of dedicated young people are joining us in an all-out effort to help elect Barack Obama — and dozens of these organizers are coming to Florida to help Obama make history on November 4.

Our organizers will be working incredibly hard over the next three weeks, but they will need at least a few hours of sleep each night. Do you have a couch, an extra bed or even some floor space that you can spare?

http://www.environmentamerica.org/voter-action/host-an-organizer?id4=ES

In the next three weeks our organizers will be talking to thousands of undecided voters, helping to spread the word that Barack Obama is the right choice for America’s environment.

Offering a spot in your home would make a huge difference, so we can devote more of our energy and resources toward winning this election.

Click the link below if you have an extra bed or couch to offer, and please forward this e-mail to anyone who might be able to help.

Thanks for helping in whatever way you can.

Thanks for the kind words. I am working on the pic. This week has been crazy. My 12-year-old diagnosed with migraines yesterday and the dog sick today (he’s almost 15).

I am so ashamed sometimes of the catholic church. During Katrina I called and they said call Red Cross. We are not doing anything (remember when everyone was sending clothes, water, food?) This week a lady collapsed and they walked past the ambulance gurney and kept on singing and the Priest ignored it (it was in the front of the church middle aisle) and NEVER said a prayer for her or anything. My daughter had tears in her eyes. I raised my kids like my Gmom (God rest her soul) did, praying a Hail Mary at an ambulance sound, prayers at meals and nighttime. this world is a crazy place. We have to teach love and humanity to our kids.

I have to meet you. You sound so sweet. Take care and pray!

PUMAS, I leave you today with this last thought:

I went through a legal issue that spanned 20 years of a history that culminated into this issue.

On the eve before the civil trial (I ended up having to represent myself) the opposing side started calling my home, trying to get me to “settle or else”, threatening me, etc., etc. (They had hired three separate law firms to fight little ole’ me?)

I was so tired, scared, etc., I gave in – trusting them (my opposition) to do the “right thing in the paperwork”.

Now, two years later, I am still going through the fall-out of their deception of “settle or else”.

Moral to the story: When you know YOUR TRUTH, STAND ON YOUR TRUTH!

The threat of “or else” will never go away, regardless of whether it is a batterer, crooked lawyers… the “new” Dem Party… if you do not STAND AGAINST THE “OR ELSE” WITH YOUR TRUTH – It can haunt you the rest of your life!

Vince Foster committed suicide over nothing more than the threat of “play ball… or else”. Many Republicans, including John McCain, regretted their tactics because of it, and wished Foster would have “never given up fighting for his integrity”.

Texas Tigress said: “NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP, GIVE IN!” She is absolutely right!

YOU ARE OUR DEMOCRACY… or else…

#195 jenniforhillary on 10.21.08 at 12:46 pm

I am in shock and will never ever get over Ms. MacKinnon’s support of BO. My heart is broken in such a way I will never recover. This woman is someone I have always respected and I have risked my life to support her work. I will never be the same person after today, and I will never stop crying…

This is the letter I wrote her, I apologize for its length but I wanted my pumas to read it. I felt like I was writing God, and she had left me…

Regarding Ms. MacKinnon’s plea that women support Senator Obama as he is the ‘way forward’ for women, I must beg to disagree. In fact, I find her post to be the single most disturbing post I have read in regards to Senator Obama and the Democratic Party’s total disenfranchisement of women and their abject relegation to third party status–directly under white and black men. As a co-founder of the student anti-pornography group SOAP (Students Organizing Against Pornography) and the student leader responsible for hosting a conference at Miami University of Ohio where Andrea Dworkin was the keynote speaker, I have met Ms. MacKinnon and heard her speak many times. She was, in fact, someone I was going to write to ask her to speak out against what the Democratic Party has done to Hillary Rodham Clinton and women in general, but I see now that she too has drunk the kool aid.

Ms. MacKinnon claims that abortion rights will be taken away if we do not support Senator Obama, that laws protecting the affirmative action laws that assist women will be overturned, and that when these two protections and/or rights are taken away women will suffer economically and thus our standing in society will fall. Her arguments are vacumn sealed in the land of unreality though, because she fails to address what Senator Obama really represents, what happened to Hillary Rodham Clinton because she was a woman, and why supporting the misogyny of both the Democratic Party led by Senator Obama might cement our position as objectified victim.

Ms. MacKinnon did not address Senator Obama’s severe ethical failings, including, but not limited to, his 20 plus year relationship with a racist church, his 20 plus year relationship with Rev. Pflegger, an avowed misognist and racist, whom he gave $100,000.00 of tax payer’s money to a few years ago, his close friendship with the Reverend Louis Farrakhan who has called for the extermination of whites and jews and has said that he considers Hitler a hero, his connection to avowed American Terrorist Mr. Ayers, or his connection to Mr. Rezko. Senator Obama appears to have as his friends and mentors racists, misogynists, and convicted felons. Furthermore, Senator Obama appears to have a very hard time keeping his word to anyone, and his track record as a politician in Chicago shows the same old thing (rich people making money off poor people). Thus, while Senator Obama may pay lip service to anyone willing to vote for him, if you look even momentarily behind the curtain you will see someone who is so ethically challenged that I find it shocking that anyone could support him, much less Ms. MacKinnon–especially based on the fact that we should look to what he has promised to do for us if elected. If you ask any good criminologist what is the best predictor of future behavior, she will tell you past behavior. In Senator Obama’s case, this should speak volumes about who and what he is and what we have to look forward to should be become President. In my opinion, if even a single woman votes for him I would consider it a personal tragedy.

Regarding Ms. MacKinnon’s failure to address what was done to Hillary Rodham Clinton, I find this as shocking as her support of Senator Obama. Senator Clinton faced overwhelming misogyny not only from the likely suspects, but also from her own party. Remind me of the last time any candidate for President was encouraged to step down for the good of the party, and I can tell you the ONLY time this has ever happened was in the case of Senator Clinton. In spite of the bias of her own party, the main stream media, and budget constraints, Senator Clinton WON the popular vote, and–while very few Americans realize this–was only 17 delegate votes away from winning it all. Had not the Democratic Party strongarmed, threatened, bought off, and harassed the delegates, Senator Clinton would have easily won the nomination. Ms. MacKinnon’s failure to address this misogyny is so sad that I do not even have words to describe it.

Finally, in the last few months we have seen what many really think about women. Sarah Palin has been the victim of misogyny ranging from verbal violence (e.g. Senator Obama supporters wearing Sarah Palin is a CUNT tee shirts) to the Terry Tate video showing her being beaten down by a large black man supporting Senator Obama. She is being told she does not have enough experience to be Vice-President, when she has more experience than Senator Obama. She is being told she is not smart enough, when no one has said the same about Senator Obama even though he forgot how many states are in the USA, did not realize that Russia can veto United Nation sanctions, or when it is clear that without reading from a script he has real problems communicating. It is clear what position women currently hold in society, and abortion rights and affirmative action aside, we have a long way to go baby. Hillary Rodham Clinton won the Democratic nomination, and it was stolen from her. Until this is addressed, I would rather be poor and celibate. I want my daughters to have more than the right to abort and make money, I want them to have the right to be President.

(On a final and most personal note, I realize that you were very close to Andrea Dworkin, but I loved her too. I think that she would be standing with me on this issue, and perhaps one day I will be able to sit down with her and discuss it.)

#173Ruffo: The Catholic Institutional Church in America, especially is in grave danger of becoming ,if it has not already irrelevant, as a vehicle for leadership, because of many reasons…I will continue to pray…I am and have been praying my literal guts out…since Janurary…And, regarding the American Catholic Bishops and some priests …I always remeber or try too that Jesus left his Church in the hands of humans..and that includes every denomination..very tolerant and hopeful of Him, indeed….the incident you described is outrageous..given my personality I know I would have jumped out the pew and yelled at the top of my voice to him and others..what the hell are you doing? Stop and get help NOW! The story reminds me of the Pharisees and others who walked past the beggars outside the temple and ignored or the people who walked past the man injured, except for the Good Samaritin…or the Pharisees and Saducees who faulted Jesus for curing people on a Saturday…in this case..Sunday!

Wow. That’s horrible. What Catholic Church is this? Like you, I would be outraged too if my priest did that to the poor woman. Please don’t stay silent about this, call your Bishop and report this incident.

As members of the Church, I believe that it’s our duty to applaud our good priest and identify and help the one’s that are weak. Clearly, this priest needs prayers but more importantly he needs to be reprimanded.

I have several opinions on Powell’s endorsement.

(1) It would have meant a lot more if it was given months ago.
(2) Most figured he would endorse BO because of him being AA.
(3) Powell, like Biden, was for most of the things BO was against – so this might not sit well with some.
(4) BO’s base would vote for BO no matter what.
(5) McCain’s base will not change.
(6) Endorsements do not really make a dif when push comes to shove. Kennedy and Kerry could not help BO beat Hillary in Mass.

Also, thanks for defending Hillary. She is the reason that I am a puma. She will prevail. Hillary is doing what women everywhere have to do to survive. We must stick together for all of our daughters to change this, hopefully with SP in the WH, we will.

“Murphy, I just spoke to someone at the Obama office(abetter number to get through right away is312-819- 3008) after being hung up on twice. The first two women were very ignorant and would not listen to what I had to say. The third women listened and than acted like she did not know anything about the tee shirts(Sara Palin is a c—) she basically called me a liar when I told her that If she had listened to the debate she would have heard John McCain bring it up. She said she had seen the whole debate and that it was never said. The two women who hung up on me claim they knew nothing about the Terry Tate YouTube Vidio. It seems that the lying starts at the very top and goes all the way down the line. They also tried to use the scare tactic of women’s rights being in jeopardy if McCain becomes president.I am a Democrat and have been for years but after that experience i will not be voting that way this year. You need to get this out and let people know what liars these people are. Thank goodness for people like you who can see through this whole charade.”

I have some relatives with NPD and it can be very devastating to the people around “THE ONE”. I think BO is a typical narcissist. Sometimes I actually worry about MO and her girls. I noticed, too that she has disappeared recently and has done so before. Maybe she has reasons she cannot talk about for being such a sour person. If BO loses, you can bet he will blame her. Ms. MacKinnon is a very famous law professor in Michigan and she and Andrea Dworkin wrote the anti-pornography legislation used by the Canadians to show that pornography violated their equal rights amendment in their constitution thus outlawing it because it hurt women and their equal standing as citizens of Canada. She considers herself to be a feminist. Until today, she was one of the five people in America I thought I could trust…

Rosebud and others, we should not be naive in believing one person’s email account being hacked is a random event. Because we oppose Obama being elected and we rely upon the Internet in opposing him, we are all at risk. A friend of mine (also politically active) was hacked just this past Sunday.

Also, I work in info. security and am not paranoid. IF Obama is elected, Americans will lose freedom of speech first, privacy and the right to bear arms.

Yes, but it could so easily have been fabricated to look like a legit receipt. It wouldn’t be difficult to superimpose MO’s signature on a fake Waldorf/Ast receipt. Just a new thought ladies and gents- either Obama is in Hawaii re: the lawsuit, or there is a scandal he is trying to distance himself from, but what if there is something he is unleashing on McCain that he wants to stay away from? Be watchful. I know they are re-running the cancer stuff on McCain but that is old news and its been 8 yrs and no cancer. Keep your eyes and ears open. He is a snake in the grass.
I know Biden is sidelined again because of his recent comments. Is he under the bus yet?

#274 tashacakes on 10.21.08 at 1:53 pm

As a life long Independent I have no business trying to persaude any Democrats who are conflicted about voting for McCain, to actually vote for him. I will try my best not to cross the line here, but please consider the following:

I’ve shared your dilemma my entire adult life. I have always had to compromise some of my positions and values for others because neither the Democratic or the Republican platforms has EVER fit my political hopes and dreams.

I’m socially progressive and I am strongly pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and care very much about the poor, the disenfranchised and the disabled. But I’m also fiscally conservative, believe in smaller government with drastically less government spending. I want my country to have a strong defense and to be a world leader in promoting democracy and human rights.

I have always had to vote for the candidate who I felt had the better character, and the one who would lead this country in the proper direction. This year, for me, the choice is clear. I will vote McCain/Palin even though some of the things they believe in are anathema to me.

But you see, this is nothing new to me. I understand it is new to many Democrats. Know this–you do not compromise yourself when voting against some of your interests. You are simply acknowledging that at this point in time, you are voting for your MOST PRESSING interests.

Given the fact that Obama has stacked the deck against America so virulently with his dirty money and his dirty ACORN tricks, please remember that our very freedom is at stake here.

To every one thinking of staying home, or writing in, please reconsider. VOTE THIS YEAR AND LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY. This may literally be the last free election this country ever holds.

Peace out puma,s, off to spread the flyers from our dear freddie. Have a great day and keep the faith.

#278 mountainsong on 10.21.08 at 1:54 pm

Two and a half weeks ago, while putting out freddie’s flyers, I was physically assaulted and called a racist. I thought it was a small sacrifice for a greater good. And I cast my ballot for McCain and Repubs down the line except for one democrat who happened to be female.
Today, i feel insulted and defiled when I read that “Hillary Clinton is a PUMA”. While she may be the reason I’m here, and while I worked hard to see her nominated, history shows it wasn’t meant to be. I accpeted that as best I could.
But, was it two days ago? Hillary appeared in Florida by Obama’s side and encouraged us all to vote for him, telling the crowd this man is fit to lead America. I almost gagged. Hillary is an amazing woman and would have been a great President I think. But all women are amazing.
I have tried to accept that there are those here who totally revere and worship Hillary Clinton. I’m ok with that. But to call Hillary Clinton a PUMA is the same, to me, as spitting in my face.

“….the feminist movement is dead, just like the DNC, and both should should start anew. Puma is like life in so many ways I cannot express my deep respect and love for this group and every member here.
——————-
I agree on both statements.

The Feminist movement has deteriorated into an empty shell of its former self and fallen by the wayside in terms of fighting for/advocating women’s issues relevant to the 21st C. In fact, aside from its early work re: reproductive freedoms, it never lived up to its initial promise to my mind.

Where was effective action on the whole host of other issues of concern to women? Equal pay, equal opportunity, child-care for working women, the right TO KEEP your child/stay in school/collect child support from the child’s father? The right NOT to be accosted by vile, misogynistic pornographic images at every turn? When did they speak out against the whorification of today’s young women in music, advertising, print media?

They’ve done basically nothing except turn a blind eye; they’re in bed with the enemy and we all have to bear the fruits of their demonic liasons. It is not right.

I’d much rather see a concerted effort AGAINST PORNOGRAPHY, against sexism in the media, the workplace and now in presidential politics, than have them harping ad nauseum on Roe v Wade.

I’d like to see support for TRUE choice, i.e. support and respect for the decisions of young women (all women, in fact – not just the celebrities) who decide to go through with their unplanned pregnancies!

It seems the modern feminist movement only believes in ONE choice – theirs. It is not right. True choice means respect for those who chose a contrary path to yours. I don’t see any of that in the Dem Party OR the feminist movement.

They’re both useless frauds to me. They’ve outlived their relevance and lost their moorings.

I most vehemently agree we need a TRUE new feminist movement. That’s one of the good things I hope comes out of this nightmare we’re all enduring now.

And I agree with NewOrleansPumas comments @ #253:

“….One thing about being older as I am Jennifer is one learns that when those we trustat those important moments and periods in our lives such as your recounting of your reasons for trust of MC break our hearts, we can and do reconfigure to wisdom and knowledge regarding them and us and as well learn there are others who will come along in time to elicit trust and not just on little things but in large intellectual and personal ways like McKinnon for you and not break our hearts in that regard!

Once again NewOrleans offers us wisdom, hope and courage….

Speaking of fine souls….

Think of it this way: as soon as you found out that the story was refuted, you came right out and apologized for having posted it.

How many newspapers are still running stories about “Kill Him,” even after the Secret Service said that they found no proof that it was ever said?

You are in the right. That’s how PUMAs roll.

Thanks for such and expedient retraction also Murphy.

I know we all want to get the latest news/information out but to take our time and verify it is so much more important to maintain our integrity as a site of truth seekers and accountability…which we are so proud of.

also if anyone wants any of the flyers to use as posts for webpages/blogs I have a program that can turn them into JPEGS that are easy to upload like any picture to the post section and when you single click on it it will open as a full page that can be read…also makes easier to email also………so let someone know what flyers would like converted and I will do that for everyone.

#301 Woodie on 10.21.08 at 2:06 pm

Murphy question:

there are 18 million of us who vited for Hillary. this will make up the difference in the polls of the 6 or 7% of these older women actually who are goo-goo eyes over obama (these are not puma women of course). Are all the 18 million going to vote for mccain? How many do you estimate and can a push be made to change this and convince them otherwise? They need to know for instance that hillary write-ins, will not count.

I wonder what will happen to the money that obama has left over after the election. maybe he could put it in a stimulus packet for the unemployed! It is amazing how he has raised in total 550 million dollars. He had 225 million left AFTER the primaries, plus what he has got since. Amazing. Gee I wonder where all that money came from?

Hello PUMAs,

Heading off to the Pasadena Republican Headquarters (I can hardly believe I am doing this).

Just wanted to post my to-do list status for today…

called Reebok at 781-401-5000 and left a voicemail on Dan Sarro’s line, saying…
– I am disturbed & concerned about the Terry Tate video looking as if he’s tackling Sara Palin
– I asked if Reebok has a company policy about violence against women
– I asked if Terry Tate is still being paid to represent Reebok
– I left my name, city, call back#

sent email to Hawaii governor Lingle, saying …
– Would she please help avert a national crisis by ensuring that the truth about Obama’s birth status is revealed?
– Although I am not a Hawaii resident, I have standing in that this is a national issue and is of vital concern to all citizens

regarding Obama’s small donations list – I called Obama Press Office at 312-819-3008
–I asked for the URL so I can see where all these small donations come from
–I stated that I was a Hillary voter & need to look closer at the 2 remaining candidates
–Volunteer #1 directed me to http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/norindsea.shtml
–I told him that the URL gives donations if you know the name … I want the full list of all the under $250 voters because I am concerned & astonished that nearly a billion $ can come from $5 and $10 donations
–Volunteer #1 asked me to hold while he checked, then he accidentally disconnected me
–I called back & made same request to volunteer #2
–I told her that I was a strong Hillary supporter & my orginal reasons for not voting for O. still exist, so I need this info to understand why I should vote for him
–She agreed that we Really Need to get a democrat in the white house
–I said that what we really need is a person of integrity & transparency regardless of party affiliation, and getting that list of donors would help me with the part
–She took my email address so she can get the information back to me after she finds out

regarding Obama’s position on the Terry Tate video & other violence done in his name – I made another call to Obama Press Office at 312-819-3008
–I mentioned the Tate video
–I mentioned the damage to the McCain supporter’s car and the KKK and flag burning damage
–I mentioned the woman whose sign was taken from her and who was struck in the face
–I asked when Obama would condemn this type of behavior
–I stated that his absence of condemnation tells me the kind of change he wants for America, which is not what I want for America
–I volunteer said thanks they will pass along my message … (get this) … to the strategist!

The more I’ve research the facts and mega years of information I have come to the conclusion that it isn’t the DNC’s fault (not that I’m letting them off from their participation in the corruption) but it is Obama and his “Mob” syndicated corruption that has taken over the entire election…..and I mean “mob” in the old sense of the word….syndicated crime and politics of the Old Chicago criminal Politics of crime bosses running the show…it goes so deep and so very long and ingrained that no one can stand up unscathed to them….even Elliot Ness and J Edgar Hoover would have a hard time……….when you have money, power, crime, corruption, politics, communist philosophy, socialist ties, and extreme Radicalism tied together you get one very deadly cocktail. His white Grandfather and friends, and O-ssiah’s youth years are not innocent in the formation of who Obama really is. There is plenty of contributions and blame to go around…….let’s just say that his parents, grandparents, and family weren’t as “mainstream” American as he would like people to believe……it is way too much to be discussed in detail here …..no I’m not saying that they were bad people just different philosophies from the “average” American…but always far Left.

#278 mountainsong – I always read you posts and follow your frame of thought whenever I can.

I smiled and did a mental high 5 to you when you bit the bullet and voted for the right guy.

When I read about Hillary’s speech in Florida a few days ago, I couldn’t believe it. It was such an eye opener, that she was able to put aside her personal feelings about her former opponent to embrace the
party. Even tho she has amazing qualities about her, she knows which side her bread is buttered.

Its really pointless to be dissappointed in what others say or do because we will be forever dissappointed. Just like whoever said that Hillary is a Puma. That is how the person feels. It is right for her and we should let it be and move on. We don’t always say what is right for others but sometimes we say what is right for us for that moment.

I guess I am trying to make you feel better by not letting others cause you dissappointment. Just understand that they do what they think is right and perhaps we won’t take things they do too much to heart. The same goes vice versa – people could be dissappointed at how we are, they just have to accept it and move on.

Don’t let people dissappoint you. You will be happier.
It is possible.

I am giving you another high 5 – I think you ROCK and you don’t even know it.

#331 oscarp on 10.21.08 at 2:55 pm

Good afternoon my PUMA family!! I have been lurking for a little while ( got my internet back recently) and I wanted to say some things regarding Hillary. I became a PUMA from the very beginning, and although I am not very active here due to work reasons( a full time and a part-time job) if I have to become a PUMA, I will do it millions of times without regretting it, and with the sme heart and mind that made me become part of this huge family. I still remember the hope, the anguish we all felt those days when Hillary was still campaigning, and I wonder where is MY Hillary now. I love her, and I will love her, but I still do not understand when women are going to say ENOUGH and step forward no matter what happens. When a woman says ENOUGH, millions of women will join them, and millions of MEN will too.
I understand Hillary’s position, you bet I do, but there are limits. I am surrounded by Obama supporters here at work, and yet, I fight like hell to defend my position, no matter what, I even have friends who can not understand why I am not voting democrats this year ’cause I have always done it, but I have accepted my responsibility and I have sticked to my mind no matter if in the meantime I lose some “friends”
I know that Hillary is a TRUE DEMOCRAT, but it breaks my heart when I see her asking people in Florida to support Obama. Politics sucks, I know that, and pardon my French, but I am very upset to see how due to our love for Hillary we are not allowed to criticize those aspects we don’t agree with. Do I want Hillary as president? YES I DO !! Do I admire Hillary? YES I DO!! Do I respect her? YES I DO!! Do I agree with what she is doing for that imbecile? NO, I DON’T !! and that does not make me excluded from my PUMA family, and that does not speak less for my love and respect for her.
This is a decisive moment in history, many people can see Hillary’s support as a signal that she really thinks he is the best candidate to become president, and she is sending the wrong message to those who are not secure of their political convictions!!!
Am I upset at Hillary? No, I am not, but again, I would have preferred to see her fight like the old days for what she believes in, a real DNC, not the piece of human heces that the party has become. Am I angry? Yes, and very angry!! Do I want to vote this year? No, I don’t, but I will write John McCain even if it goes against my principles, because I do not want another grain of sand that will contribute to the destruction of this great country ! So I think I am entitled to say that Hillary could have done differently!!!! No matter what happens, I am and I will be a PUMA, my heart hasn’t changed a bit !!!!

#332 cosmo on 10.21.08 at 3:08 pm

About the Powell Bump that Oblabla got;
Maybe McCain should counter with Bolton and Wolfowitz! ;)

And about “Brian’s article” on the post-election emergency: note that it is a copy of SOMEONE ELSE’S COMMENT POSTED on American Thinker — Raf, from Florida, an ex-military CENCOM planner.

HILLARY SUPPORTERS: GOVERNOR PALIN IS VIABLE!

As a woman who strongly supported Senator Hillary Clinton, I have to ask my fellow Hillary supporters; why be loyal to a party which chose to disenfranchise us? I, like many of you, campaigned hard on behalf of Senator Clinton in several states. I remember pleading her case, our case, about America having the ability to nominate a smart, strong, viable female candidate who could ultimately shatter the highest and hardest of ceilings. Women from across the nation – Democrats, Republicans and Independents all rallied around that plea.

When I was in Denver for the Democratic National Convention, we celebrated the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage. That was the night of Hillary’s speech. It was bittersweet for me as I spoke with CNN. I was convinced then that we, as women and a country would not be afforded another opportunity, another viable female candidate for a very long time. Enter Governor Sarah Palin!

Wow! She can hunt down the bacon, bring it home, and then fry it up in a pan, and never let you forget that she is a woman! Feminine, tough, smart, and very capable. Governor Palin is a wife, daughter, sister, CEO, CFO, and COO. And, oh yeah a hockey mom! Let’s face it, it will take a “pit bull with lipstick” to defeat the sexism and misogyny that still permeates society today.

Abigail Adams frequently wrote letters to her husband John while he was convincing Congress to declare independence. On March 31, 1776, she wrote: “-If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.”

The more people like Nancy Pelosi and the leaders of the Democratic Party call for “unity,” the more distance I want to create between us. Remember the way Senator Clinton was treated and betrayed by her own, by our own party. Remember how party leaders engaged in and turned a blind eye to the vicious sexist attacks made toward Senator Clinton. Remember how they worked vigorously to defeat our efforts and silence our voices. Then ask yourself if you want to reward this kind of behavior. Now, we should not be complicit to the same attacks toward Governor Palin.

Others may engage in blind, irrational loyalty. I, however, will not! There is so much consequence that will emerge from this election. We must not behave as though we are suffering from battered wife syndrome, sounding the alarm, then to simply make up. There will be no honeymoon faze with this gal! Women, we must say no! No way, no how, hell no! Dignity and Country first!

Maya Angelou wrote “History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again. If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
