Endorsement reposted from earlier thread – thought you’d like to see – from Columbus, Ohio Dispatch…..
important for Ohio

For president: John McCain
A lifetime of sacrifice and service make John McCain best choice
Sunday, October 19, 2008 3:39 AM

For president of the United States, The Dispatch endorses Republican Sen. John McCain, whose experience, service and sacrifice for his country make him more qualified to lead the nation.

McCain’s Democratic opponent, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, is a rousing motivational speaker, but his experience and achievements — eight years in the Illinois Legislature and less than four in the U.S. Senate — do not stand comparison with McCain’s.

A resume containing so little evidence of leadership and accomplishment leaves in question Obama’s ability to handle the most responsible and difficult job in the world, especially at a time when the nation faces a combination of problems so large and complex that they would challenge even the most seasoned leader.

Nor does it seem likely that a man who has traveled in the left lane of American politics for his entire adult life really is the bipartisan centrist that he claims to be. And with Democrats already in control of the U.S. House and Senate — and the possibility that they might gain a filibuster-proof majority in the next Senate — there would be little to check the inevitable excesses of one-party rule if a Democrat wins the White House.

This could have a profound effect on the U.S. Supreme Court. A divided Senate acts as a check on presidential nominations to the court by preventing the confirmation of justices with extreme views. But with a filibuster-proof Senate majority ready to do his bidding, Obama would have the unfettered ability to appoint justices likely to be judicial activists, eager to launch a new era of legislating from the bench. Such a Supreme Court could end up as a rubber stamp for, rather than a check on, the White House and Congress.

While neither party can make a credible claim to fiscal responsibility, the dangers of more deficit spending, a growing national debt and uncontrollable entitlement spending are likely greater with an Obama administration. Democrats have not controlled the White House and Congress simultaneously since 1994. A return to majority status is likely to unleash pent-up demand to enact a Democratic wish list of new and expensive social programs when the nation can’t afford the ones it has. Given his party-line voting record in the Senate, there is no indication that Obama is able or willing to stand against such an onslaught.

But many of the policy choices the nation will have to make in the next four years are monumental and should be the result of a bipartisan dialogue, not of unchecked one-party dictate.

Debate and political give and take ensure that decisions have been fully vetted, that all interests and concerns have been weighed and that the resulting decisions enjoy broad public support.

Unlike Obama, McCain has a record of bipartisanship: He was a member of the Gang of 14 Republican and Democratic senators who joined in 2005 to preserve the Senate filibuster rule. Note that this courageous act, which enraged the Republican Senate leadership, preserved the filibuster power for what was then the Democratic minority in the Senate. And that was not the only time that McCain has bucked his party.

At a time when the nation faces serious problems, including international economic turmoil, immigration, health care, war in Afghanistan, nation-building in Iraq and foreign-policy challenges from the Middle East, Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela, the president should have an extensive resume and long experience in grappling with tough decisions. Few new presidents have faced an assignment as tough as the one facing the winner of the November election.

From 5 1/2 years as a POW in North Vietnam, where he endured torture, through 25 years in the U.S. House and Senate, McCain has demonstrated the grit, energy and determination that the present challenges demand.

The choice is between a candidate who has been tested to a degree experienced by few and a candidate who is untested. In Obama, Americans are presented with a question mark.

Among the top problems facing the United States is its dire fiscal situation. The nation has a $10 trillion debt and other unfunded obligations to entitlement programs that total $53 trillion. The federal deficit this year is nearly $458 billion and some project the 2009 deficit could hit $700 billion. Despite these staggering numbers, lawmakers and the president just approved a $700 billion Wall Street bailout that they don’t have the money to pay for. In short, the United States is dangerously overextended at a time when a worldwide recession threatens.

For years, The Dispatch has called on the president and Congress to deal with this massive, mounting debt which threatens the prosperity and quality of life of generations to come. But year after year, the nation’s leaders have kicked the problem down the road.

Seriously confronting this problem will require a president able to call on Americans to make sacrifices for the sake of their grandchildren.

The president will have to ask them to accept cuts in popular programs, tax increases and lowered expectations of what government can afford to do.

Because of the personal sacrifices that McCain has made for the nation, he has unmatched moral authority to call on Americans to take their medicine. If elected, that is precisely what he should do.

The Dispatch urges voters to elect John McCain as president.

Good Morning. I am not at all surprised about endosement from Powell. If his reason is Palin then something is wrong. She has more experience than Obama who is running for POTUS. Powell is 71 years old and stood behind the war. Seems a bit fishy to me. I am more concerned bout the POTUS having experience than the VP. So if McCain would of picked another VP he would stnd behind him? Hmmm…there is more to this. Off to exercise then go pass out flyers.

Patty- I award you my first place – I’ve been there before….We’re all in first place in our fight against BO

I’m very angry right now, very very angry with Colin Powell. Because of Colin Powell, three of my nephews are in Iraq, the third one went back to Iraq for his third deployment last month! I was against invasion of Iraq, I joined Vietnam Vets holding a placard, marching opposing the invasion. I was spit on, called commies, unpatriotic because I do not believe Powell was telling the truth. The media like CNN, MSNBC, Fox, ABC, CBS and other radio jocks, helped Powell and Bush LIE to the American people. Head of the CIA LIED to the Armed Services and Intelligence Committee in the Senate.

I remember John Kerry solidly supporting Bush in the invasion of Iraq, he forcefully convince Hillary Clinton to support the invasion.

I give Colin Powell the middle finger! HE IS A LIAR!!! BECAUSE OF HIM MY NEPHEWS ARE NOW IN IRAQ!!

#9 mtsharpshooter on 10.19.08 at 10:47 am

Good news on a couple of fronts:

1) NBC is cutting 3% of budget…$500 million. Sure the economy´s down, but could it also have something to do with the fact that viewership is down? I would like to think so!
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117994262.html?categoryid=14

2) McCain´s within 3 points in Zogby´s newest poll!!!! Ok, so polling´s skewed, but little by little they´re starting to show a closing gap (much to their own chagrin)! http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1597

Murphy: Great post..great flyer idea…
Perhaps Michelle should have been more discreet in her culinary delights at the Waldorf….and ordered petite fours instead! I think anyway with all this seafood, she must have some kind of iron deficiency, in which case ordering a bottle of generic iron pills AND petite fours would have been more in line with the Socialist theme of one for me and all for me…

I am sick to death of all these endorsements that are going to BO. Just like in the primarys when he kept getting endorsements and super delegates. What the hell is going on? Do the American people really want a socialist, marxist communist in the white house leading the nation or are they just plain stupid?
I am so disheartened right now.
There is also no way I believe that BO can raise 150 million this last month. I wish we could find out where that money is coming from or if it is even the truth.

#15 KarenWI on 10.19.08 at 10:54 am

#12- I’d hate to see them release it to CNN or MSNBC… they’d hold it and not show it (or edit it so it’s worthless)….

#16 TexAsia on 10.19.08 at 10:54 am

Well that receipt signed by MO certainly show that she and BO have the people’s interest at heart. They are wining and dining while the little people continue to pour more money into his campaign so they can spend more. What a bunch of hypocrites!!

#17 CTKEY on 10.19.08 at 10:54 am

I just heard on the the TV in the background, that BO had a record amiunt of fundraising last month. The amounts were off the charts. Where is this cash coming from ? The BO rep could not answer this question. They can’t buy my vote.

He should spread some of that wealth around. Imagine what $500 million would do ?

Als, can someone axplain to me why BO is spending so much in TV ads in CT ? He has this state locked up doesn’t he ?

This from the end of today’s post at the confluence. I looked for a list of superdelegates in the action center but missed them I guess. Does anyone have them? I’d like to send this message out.

10/19/08
NOTE: I am serious about that offer to superdelegates. I want to hear what your reasoning was for “picking” Obama over Clinton. We know it wasn’t experience or qualifications. We know it wasn’t seniority, unless we’re counting penis years. So, come and tell us why you chose him over her. Don’t tell us why we should vote for him over McCain. We’re not voting for Obama. We told you this back in May. We aren’t changing our minds. But we need to do a retrospective analysis so this NEVER happens again and your testimonial would be very helpful to determining where the party went completely off the rails. You can reach us at theconfluence08 at yahoo dot com. Don’t wait until after the election is over. We want to know NOW.

#20 Puff on 10.19.08 at 10:57 am

I just went on African press and begged for them to release the tape to Fox. Everyone should do the same. I said that if the other networks got ahold of it, that it would never see the light of day.

#21 BrooklynNY on 10.19.08 at 10:57 am

Just turned on the TV to see COLIN POWELL shilling for the Great Imposter. What a jerk. Well, Colin, if you thought the GOP is too far to the right, you’re a day late and a dollar short. Where were you 8 years ago?!!!! You’ve already proven you’ve got really lousy judgment and you’re easily hoodwinked. So, it’s not surprising you’re rooting for the bad guy this time, just like you did 8 years ago.

My respect for Colin Powell just went down the toilet. He’s an idiot. Sorry Colin, but you’re doing the same thing you did 8 years ago, helping the bad guys screw America over.

Really interesting to me that people involved in or tightly connected to the worst sins of the Republican Party in the present day and in US history ALL support Barack Obama.

John Dean loves Barack Obama. John Dean – one of Nixon’s righthand men during the Watergate scandal and now, Colin Powell is stepping up, helping to sell Barack Obama, just like he helped sell George Bush 8 years ago.

Keep the change, Colin Powell. Your judgment doesn’t mean a whole hell of a lot to me.

#23 EWard on 10.19.08 at 10:58 am

Colin Powell should be ashamed of himself. BO is unqualified to be President and he knows it. Powell, you lost your credibility with that UN speech. Now, you are endorsing a candidate that is openly cheating in the GE election. Close to $500 million dollars has been thrown at BO and most of it is coming from bundlers and you have the nerve to tell us that the GOP is going in the wrong direction. BO, the DP, and the MSM are trying to silence the opposition through threats, intimidation, and by smearing the reputation of anyone that opposes Barack Pinocchio Obama. Powell, you are a liar.

Regarding the picture of Michelle: This woman dresses more and more like Oprah every day…Since the DNC convention, her :makeover” …”style” is that done for Oprah by her stylists.. who while I am thinking of it really needs to stop wearing high heels because someone never told her that with them, you must lead with the ball of your foot and not the heel.. on the ground first..so as not to look as she does like she is walking in a cow patty field…with hip boots. Everytime I have seen her I think of practicing how to do that….when I was in 7th grade.

#29 murphy on 10.19.08 at 11:00 am

From a Puma in Michigan, for those so inclined (this is one thing some may decide to do in these last 2 weeks to make sure Obama does not win).

Long, but very informative:

“Hello All,

We need to focus like a laser beam in making phone calls for McCain / Palin
to the swing states (Ohio, FLA, VA, ). Here’s how it can be done:

1. johnmccain.com

You can make calls from website. Click the action button at top of home
page, then click “make phone calls”. You can choose the state you want to
call. Nice thing is you can call from convenience of your home.

2. Come to the Farmington Hills, MI office any day during the week,
especially this Sat and Sunday, and see Justine (office assistant), I will
be there too this weekend and as much as possible after work during the
week. The phones in Justine’s area, at the far end of office, can be used
to call swing states. Justine will give you “bubble sheets” phone lists for
making calls and brief script (1-3 questions).

I have contacted Justine and McCain directors requesting bubble sheets for
Ohio, Fla, VA… and have let them know I am putting out the word about
making calls to swing states. Justine has sheets for Wisconsin, but is also
making efforts to obtain sheets for the other swing states so that they will
be available this Sat. and Sunday.

When you call get a McCain supporter, it is a good idea to ask them to also
help out by making 5 phone calls, go to local office and pick up bumper
stickers, lawn signs, etc. The main thing is to make calls. We can make
the most positive impact on this election by making calls to swing states.

Last night I was calling Miami, Florida, and spoke with woman pro-McCain /
Palin and she was willing to go to McCain office in Miami to make phone
calls. I gave her the address phone number for office near her. On
johnmccain.com if you go to Action button at top then click “In your state”
it will bring up map of USA, click on state and you can access a listing of
McCain offices for each state.

I am asking everyone, to make at least 5 phone calls a day or 35 calls a
week, either at home via the internet or at the Farmington Hills office. If
we truly want McCain /Palin to win this election then we have to do our part
on the grass roots level.

Please pass on this information to your friends and family, and everyone you
can think of who can help out.

Also, I encourage you to give me and each other feedback as to how you are
doing, calls you are making, volunteers you’ve recruited, etc., I want to
help cheer you on !

Every little bit will make a difference !

Let me know if you’ll be going to Farmington Hills office this weekend, time
, etc. (or other days) and I will look for you !

Thanks !”

#49 BrooklynNY on 10.19.08 at 11:12 am

Listening to Meet the Press this am leads me to believe Colin Powell is announcing his support for the unqualified candidate because he basically persona non grata in the Repub Party these days…..Didn’t he end up resigning from his position in the Bush Admin basically not on very good terms after shilling for Bush’s War and then getting thrown under the bus by Bush/Cheney/Rumy?

Maybe he thinks his political future and social calendar will be brighter if he goes with the “other team” this time. After all, he’s already proven principles and troublesome little details like “TRUTH” don’t really matter that much to him.

I read this on Saturday and it applies to this election…

“Make absolute integrity the compass that guides you in everything you do. And surround yourself only with people of flawless integrity.”

These are the names of the people that have shaped BO’s life, Alinsky, Ayers, Rezko, Davis, Wright, Pfleger, and so on. Do they possess flawless integrity? Enough said!

I thought that the issue of Obama’s birth certificate was funny last spring. After all it only costs $20 for a copy to make the issue go away. Now, months later no legal authority has examined his birth certificate and there are now four lawsuits asking he provide it.
1 Philip J. Berg, Pennsylvania
2 Steven Marquis, Washington
3 Andy Martin, Hawaii
4 Judson Witham, Utah
I cannot believe the arrogance of this guy. He is either letting a problem fester for months for no reason other that his ego will not tolerate any questions, or he has a real problem that may result in blood on the streets if he is disqualified. I no longer see anything funny about this. It is now possible he could be disqualified after the election but before the electorial college votes. The judges handling these cases had better realize the longer this case is delayed, the worst the possible consequences.

Sarah Palin will be here on wednesday, I am going to that as well….

There have been reports that my democratic hero Marcy Kaptur will be here today protesting at the McCain rally…UGH…I guess I will have to go and give her the smackdown.

About Colin Powell, does anyone thinks that his endorsment of Obama is not about race? Powell is the living embodiment of everything Obama is supposedly against, so for Obama to say yipee to this would be about as hypocritical as all get out. Powell against the war? Really, was it not him that lied to the world about wmd’s, if he were pricipled in any way he would have told Bush and his cronies to shove it, not him, he was leading the charge, so Powell is just another fool in the ever growing list of sellouts, he no more believes in Obama than I do.

#61 lilibet on 10.19.08 at 11:23 am

GOOFSMOM:
Than you for the link to the African Press. This is my comment to them.

“If you really are sincere in your efforts to help the American people gain the necessary knowledge about their possibly new First Lady, you will and the American people will be best served if you release your information to the FOX News. FOX is the only MSM member to treat this presidential election with fairness and balance. All the other news
media have been for over a year protecting Senator Obama from any criticism. Senator Obama himself said he would not allow criticism of Michelle while he allowed Senator
Clinton suffer daily vile attacks without one word of support of the Senator. You now have the opportunity to help present to the American people what they are in for if they elect Obama as President.

If you were to release this information to any other News Media, especially CNN and MSNBC the information would certainly be kept under lock and key until after the election.
Thank you for consideration.

Thomas More was put to death and his resistence didn’t stop King Henry from going forth with his plans…

Sorry for being so pessemistic this early in the morning. It’s just frustrating – isn’t anyone listening to what BO is saying? He’s telling us what the new America will be like and it’s quite different from the old America I’m not sure it’s different in a good way.

What has defined he American character since our inception will be eradicated – hard work, honesty, steely independence, the ability to see no limits on anything, including our dreams, our ambitions – and yes, sometimes our greed. He wants to transform this – kill what we are and a lot of people are nodding (stupidly, complacently?) and saying, yeah, ok…

I got an email this morning about voting early here in WI from the WI obama campaign.
Checked the GAB site voter information for same day registration/voting
http://elections.state.wi.us/faq_detail.asp?faqid=121&fid=27&locid=47

and found this at the bottom of the page:
“Proof of residence does not include any piece of mail addressed to the voter.
If you cannot supply acceptable Proof-of-Residence, your registration form can be substantiated and signed by one other elector who resides in your municipality, corroborating your residency information. The corroborator must then provide acceptable Proof-of-Residence. ”

I’ve already sent my concern to David Buerger for him to read tomorrow when he get’s in the office. I’ve talked with him many times and is a very nice guy and very conscientious about concerns…if you supply a phone number he usually calls back personally….but with the election so close and work load with ACORN concerns so large he may not have the time…..But he takes every concern seriously……He is the Top guy there…….and I always like going right to the top…

This is who to contact about your concerns at the WI Gov. Accountability Board(our election board) To: “Buerger, David – GAB”

I have my doubts that Bill or Hillary will vote for Mac. My reason? Because the votes are NOT “secret”. The dem party will know that they didn’t vote for BO, and they’ll be “in the tank” for good then. I never became a registered republican….. but for some reason the repub party found out that I’ve voted republican in MOST of the recent elections, so they call me as a republican. How do they know that? Because somehow they know who is voting how. How does the dem party get a list of people to contact who have voted dem otherwise? No, Bill and Hillary aren’t going to vote for Mac because the dem party will find out… they’d probably LIKE to, but I don’t think they will actually do so. They know very well that word will get out….

I am off to blog on the newspapers in all the Swing States – following is a rough rough draft and will have to clean it up spelling and wording but my comments will be as follows: If you read the below please help me with the direct quote he made at the San Francisco get together regarding Guns and Bibles.

=============================
Is it just me – have I gone off the deep end – these are troubling problems for me

l. Colin Powell – a Bush – Sec of State that got us into this war stating Weapons of Mass Destruction which proved erroneous – endorses Obama who readily accepts the endorsement – wasn’t he against the war in Iraq??

2. Michele Obama eats lobster and Iranian caviar at the Waldorf Astoria for $447 and I get to eat TV dinners – yes – Michelle I agree with you someone has to give up a piece of the pie so others can have more in order to have Universal Health Care and a revamped education.

3. Everyone thinks Bill Ayers is not a situation that is disturbing – people died because of him just like McVeigh – only difference -not as many. Wright, Rezko and all the other associations – if you know nothing about a person’s character, which we don’t about Sen Obama – you are obliged to look at his friends.

4. Bothers me that Sen Obama did not know that Wright was a racist, that Ayers was a terrorist, that Rezko was a crook, that Acorn was involved with voting fraud – what does he know??

5. Race baiting constantly – any question you ask about anything from Sen Obamas past makes you a racist, or a Bible (HELP ME HERE PUMAS WHAT WAS HIS EXACT QUOTE) carrying a gun.

6. World Trade Center – dedication ceremony – where was Michelle??

7. Rallies a few days ago – pledge of allegiance and the National anthem – no time for them.

8. Joe the Plumber – he is middle class – he is struggling – yet Sen Obama is snubbing his nose at him, and negative commenting – he is US –

9. Logan Act – Rico Act – why do we have ACTS if no one is responsible for their involvement – Sen Obama as proven talked with Iraq regarding pull out time frame of troops there –

10. Sixteen States have reported Voter Fraud through Acorn representatives – what happened to our every vote counts and how can we possibly use us as an example of a democratic government to other countries.

11. American Media – you have to go to Canada or Europe to find out the truth – why is everything being surpressed here.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE.

ARLINGTON, VA — Today, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, U.S. Army (Ret.) issued the following statement endorsing John McCain for President of the United States:

“Senator John McCain has served our country with honor in war and in peace. He has demonstrated the type of courageous leadership our country sorely needs at this time. For that reason, he has my complete support.”

We need to focus on Obama’s stench on Socialism – we the middle class refuse to re-distribute wealth to the 40% that do not pay taxes.

We need to focus on voter fraud etc etc…

It should make you mad. It should make all of us mad. It’s pure socialism! Now we cannot survive under a true capitalist society, and I fully understand that we need regulations and controls, but this using the tax code to ‘spread the wealth around’ is just plain going too far toward true socialism. It’s all about making more and more people totally dependant upon the federal government (in this case to grow a voter block) and less dependant upon themselves (i.e. personal responsibility is dieing) all in the name of ‘fairness’. What happened to having to work for what we get in this country? What happened to allowing people to make mistakes or fail and then letting them learn from it and make better decisions in the future? What happened to living within our means instead of having one’s hand out for the government to bail us out when we cannot make ends meet? If this guy is elected, our American way of life and true American values are dead.

Remember always that anyone famous is well off finanically and with plenty of contacts. They are depression-proof. Therefore people like Colin Powell and those Hollywood niggards of wealth have nothing to worry about if their endorsements help Obama bring middle class America to its economic knees with a depression.

Endorsements by famous folks and other influences are utterly unsound and will be ignored for the most part by smart Americans.

And again, congratulations on your marriage.

#37 mccaindemo on 10.19.08 at 11:02 am Was anyone really surprised about Powells endorsement of Obama ??? It is all about ethnic pride..his ‘reasons’ don’t fool the general public

I am not surprised, not really, by Powell’s decision. And as I’ve been grinding my teeth these past months trying to square myself w/ HRC’s support of The One Who Would See Her Career Destroyed, it dawned on me that Powell and HRC are doing exactly the same thing–each is clutching for a fingerhold on the hem of The One in order to be absolved by the public for having voted w/Bush to go into Iraq, and to salvage political careers. I allow each to have his or her opinion in this election, so I have to give that to CP and HRC. But I still will not vote for BO.

And to agree w/ all above posts about the indecent spending spree the BO campaign has been on, it occurs to me that all of the “regular people” who have given to Him so generously are the same greedy voices clamoring for mortgage and debt relief for all of their crazy bad-credit spending. No sympathy from this angry bee.

Posting part of the article from the Eeyore Report…

“Let’s breakdown Powell’s endorsement for a minute. If he claims he’s not backing Obama just because he’s black, that means Powell must be backing Obama for another reason. So, we believe it’s then safe to assume that Powell shares the following with Obama:

1. He mocks working class Americans like Joe the Plumber

2. He believes in meeting unconditionally with rogue leaders

3. He feels Midwesterners are bitter and cling to guns and religion

4. He can’t believe the price of arugula at Whole Foods

5. He wants hard working Americans to turn over their income for redistribution

6. He sees no problem flip-flopping on important issues like FISA, campaign finance reform, drilling, or whatever the polls are saying this week

7. He has no qualms about not only associating with hatemongers like Jeremiah Wright or unrepentant terrorists like William Ayers, but also lying about the relationships he has with them, before lying about what he lied about today in an ever-changing circle of lies on the subject

8. He thinks nothing’s wrong with dirty Chicago politics and dealings with people like convicted felon Tony Rezko

9. He doesn’t see the need to put his hand on his heart during the national anthem and show proper respect for American traditions

10. He wouldn’t have visited troops in the hospital in Germany or Iraq either, because no cameras were allowed in there

We do not believe for a moment that Powell would have endorsed a white man or woman who had even one of the above attached to them — and that’s just 10 right off the top of our head. So, this is obviously about race and we believe everyone knows it.”

We must make viral – Michelle Obama’s dinner on October 15, is their idea of spreading the wealth.

The media need to have some light hearted news.. we need the public to see what these folks have for dinner.

The Bots are now trying to make election day a federal holiday. They know as well as I do that their majority following, young people, simply choose not to vote if it interferes with their schedules. It has happened at every election and it will happen at this one. Their little scheme of same day registration/voting had a horrible turn out with way less than they thought would show up.

The 41.3% cited below are those American who see their vote as an obligation and duty….aka McCain’s core voting group. The bots are running scared.

Here is an email I just got from the “Care2 petition team”

The health of democracy depends on the participation of all its people. Every voice must be heard and every vote must be counted.

But right now, the United States is failing in its responsibility, because people have trouble getting to the polls on Election Day >>

In 2006, only 41.3 percent of the total eligible voters turned out to vote. That is not a statistic a true democracy should ignore.

Studies show that the #1 reason people fail to vote is because of difficulty in getting to the polls. The federal government requires that employers grant employees the ability to vote on Election Day, but that’s clearly not enough. If we take democracy seriously, then Election Day needs to be a holiday, so that everyone has the chance to do their civic duty.

Voting is the most fundamental obligation of our democracy, and it’s worth dedicating a day to it.

Urge the President to protect the American democracy by making Election Day a federal holiday! >>

Obama was caught in an uncharacteristic moment of loose language. Referring to working-class voters in old industrial towns decimated by job losses, the presidential hopeful said: “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Not surprised about Colin Powell supporting BO.
People are so caught up in making the GOP pay for Bush’s choices and falling for so much BS from BO. I wish just a quarter of his supporters would look ahead 3-4 years instead of looking just 3-4 months down the road. BO’s plans will fail and cost the American more money and more problems.
My hubby might be getting out of the Navy due to his back. He has been looking at contract jobs overseas in Italy and the UK. If BO wins I might have to give my hubbys ideas more thought.

I just read on API that they are planning on releasing the audiotape on the 19th or 20th. Does anyone remember me saying on Friday I had a strong feeling that something would be released on Monday? I am at times intuitive about certain things. Of course I am still very leary about all of this, we will see. I attending the McCain rally in Woodbridge, VA yesterday, the crowd size was impressive and encouraging! I talked to a woman who approached me and my friend. She told us she was a democrat and she wanted to know why we were voting for McCain especially since she has new concerns about Obama’s character. She voted for Obama in the primiaries and is now having “buyers remorse”. I can tell you my friend is a black republican with a very strong, intelligent message. It moved this woman in a great way and she left pretty certain that she would be voting for McCain. I told her ALL about this site and PUMA’S. I told her I was a republican but that the PUMA forum is the only place I feel at home. Over here we represent America. Republicans, demcrats and independents getting together, getting along, sharing ideas with great love and respect for each other. We are working together for what is right for America, not what is right for the democrats or republicans. It is my dream if Senator McCain wins to have many democrats and independents appointed to his cabinet. Only then will we be a nation truly united. I will share my video footage as soon as I have it uploaded. MANY signs “democrats for McCain”. CNN was there and at one point the huge crowd turned to them with the loudest boos and thumbs down I have heard. I “think” I have it on video. Foxnews was there, got a roaring ovation and I met Carl Cameron and got my pic with him…he is a SWEETHEART!!!!!!!!!

Forgot to mention…I pointed out the the woman at the rally also concerned about having “4 more years of Bush” that in the 2000 primaries Bush and McCain had a very bitter, dirty battle to win that nomination. In fact it was so bitter, Senator McCain’s daughter Meghan voted for Al Gore in 2000, and Kerry in 2004. It is my suspicion as well that I doubt Senator McCain voted for him in either election as the bad blood between the two families does run deep. She was not aware of all of this and was intrigued by it.

CaribbeanPuma…..I realize Bots don’t watch Fox, however, people like my mom who don’t mess with computers, participate in blogs, surveys, etc., the ones who are quiet, not mentioning who they vote for until election day, people on the fence make up a great deal of those viewers.

The majority, as show by the stats, choose Fox as their cable news channel. They are learning about Bozo cuz Fox has the balls to investigate and inform.

Bozo recently said that Fox is responsible for him slipping in the polls and he’s right.

This was posted over at API, wasn’t sure if everyone had read it, sorry it is so long but one of the best pieces I have read:

America’s Attachment to the Idea of Change is the Perilous “Will o’ The Wisp” That’s Confounding Voter’s Perceptions

Posted by africanpress on October 19, 2008
The phrase will o’ the wisp has be used to describe one, metaphorically speaking, who is holding so tightly to a goal that they doggedly follow any hints of it, oblivious to what lies unnoticed right under their noses. One of many descriptors is the image of a peasant farmer following a lantern light off in the distance, held by a mythical creature, whereupon the farmer winds up deep in the marsh. The farmer’s focus on the light is such that he becomes unaware of his surroundings; and waiting in the darkness, the consequences of blindly following the creature’s light stand ready to appear.
This is what seems to be happening in the 2008 Presidential election. Many voters are so attached to the idea of “change” or “change from” that they are not noticing information that is critical for sound decision making concerning their votes. It’s the information that gives hints of what consequences lay in the darkness and for the future. For these voters, the election is about solely about change; and therefore, thoroughly analyzing new information as it comes available is not necessary. “Change” is the goal, the lantern light, the treasure and they can see it just there.
This year Sen. Obama has been ordained by the media as the only way to that goal. Normally most voters would be constantly reviewing and searching for information about an unknown candidate; but not this year. Normally the media would be diligently searching for information that would give voters a glimpse of a unknown candidate’s character; but not this year. Unfortunately, the media has relinquished their traditional role as the source of reliable (true) information this year. This year, the media has assumed the role of advocate and protector. (Consider what has happened when an average citizen confronted Sen. Obama. The media immediately circled the wagons and brought their resources to bear in an effort to destroy Joe the Plumber’s credibility.)
When it comes to recognizing truth, I believe half of what I see and very, very little of what I read. With today’s media so clearly taking sides regarding this election and regarding most issues, what I read must be scrutinized to discover what facts are facts, what’s the real context, what facts are omitted, where opinion is stated as fact, what is implied as fact, what is credible, what is the author’s bias. As a voter, I’m not willing to blindly follow a party’s or a newscaster’s version of truth. It’s difficult and time consuming work. The critical questions for me are: Am I as fully informed as I can be? Am I putting my country first and my own self-interests second?
Regarding Sen. Obama, instead of providing real information for voters to use to judge Senator Obama’s character, intentions, believes, and actions; the media continues to feed voters a ‘fairy tale’ that paints the Senator as new, pure, wise, a messiah, the bringer of Hope and Change. I know the media won’t like this, but they ARE the peasant farmer blindly following the mythical creature who carries the lantern into the marsh because they too have lost their objectivity.
I can’t just blame the media for this phenomenon. It IS the responsibility of every voter to investigate and try to find out as much as they can about the candidates. The will o’ the wisp is the mantra of “change” this year. Change is the goal for voters. I do agree that Sen. Obama will bring the most change if he is elected; however, the change he brings has the possibility of seriously damaging America’s economy and future. Regrettably, many voters appear to be looking for a type of change that changes how much they can take from the government. The federal budget ballooning, the degradation of the concept of personal responsibility, the effect on others as the economy sputters doesn’t seem to matter to those who would vote on the basis of what they might get. These voters are not considering what consequences might be in the darkness on the marsh.
Obama’s wanting to “spread the wealth around” is textbook socialist economic policy. It does have a strong appeal to those Americans who would rather take from others and not earn for themselves. Unfortunately, it does seem as though American is becoming a “what’s in it for me” country. History has shown us over and over that raising taxes on businesses and those who create jobs (especially during an economic downturn) results in less revenue for government, less growth in the economy, fewer jobs being created, less incentive to take risks that lead to innovative solutions for problems. Why would we want to go there? Senator Obama’s change would not result in any betterment of the situations of American families. Obama’s change would result in a further slowing of our economy and the concurrent lost of jobs and benefits. The “what’s in it for me” voters would be cutting off their noses to spite their faces.
When I pull the lever on Election Day, I will be fully aware of what voting means. It means that I have tried to best of my abilities to ascertain who my selectee is, what they believe, where they will take the country, what their character is, and what will be the likely consequences if my candidate prevails. In the end, I believe that America will deserve the consequences of this election, good and bad. If America, an informed America, wants to go down the road of socialism with an inexperienced, minimally vetted candidate; so be it. I however will not voluntarily be on board for such a journey.
If voters and the media were not so intoxicated by the idea of change, change they have to have, they would likely be paying attention to all of the skeletons in Sen. Obama’s closet.
They would be looking closely at Sen. Obama’s past associations with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Pastor Michael Pfleger, Bernadine Dorn, Minister Louis Farrakhan, and William Ayers. They would be looking into Sen. Obama’s connection to ACORN, the organization that is up to its ears in voter fraud. They would be looking into Sen. Obama’s connections to the crisis in the U.S. financial system through the actions, policies and political contributions regarding Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac. They would be looking into the allegations of Larry Sinclair, who says that he and Sen. Obama used cocaine and engaged in consensual sex in 1999. They would be looking into allegations concerning Sen. Obama’s campaign’s involvement with censorship and intimidation against those who oppose Sen. Obama – (Stanley Kurtz for example). They would be looking into Sen. Obama’s extreme views concerning abortion, some would say infanticide. They would be looking into the allegations set forth in Berg v. Obama that challenge whether Sen. Obama is even eligible to hold the Office of President of the United States. They would be looking into the allegations that Sen. Obama violated the Logan Act during his last trip to Iraq and during the elections in Kenya that left more than a thousand people dead.
In conclusion, it is my belief that this is the most important election in my lifetime. It will hurt me deeply if America is destroyed by such a naïve and short sighted phenomenon as is the “Will o’ the Wisp” that the bumper sticker of “Change We Can Believe In” has set in motion.

#182 sistermoon3 on 10.19.08 at 12:36 pm

hey, didnt they say McCain only met with Sarah Palin a couple of time, here’s what Colin Powell said this am
~~~~~~~~~
MR. BROKAW: General Powell, actually you gave a campaign contribution to Senator McCain. You have met twice at least with Barack Obama. Are you prepared to make a public declaration of which of these two candidates that you’re prepared to support?
And I must say that I’ve gotten a good measure of both. In the case of Mr. McCain, I found that he was a little unsure as to deal with the economic problems that we were having and almost every day there was a different approach to the problem. And that concerned me, sensing that he didn’t have a complete grasp of the economic problems that we had. And I was also concerned at the selection of Governor Palin. She’s a very distinguished woman, and she’s to be admired; but at the same time, now that we have had a chance to watch her for some seven weeks, I don’t believe she’s ready to be president of the United States, which is the job of the vice president. And so that raised some question in my mind as to the judgment that Senator McCain made.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
let’s get this straight, Obama did nothing about the crisis until Bush called them both to washington
so i guess doing nothing, is the best choice

There is no surprise that Powell endorsed BO. I think that has been in the tank for months since they met.
In fact, I think the O campaigh is doing exactly what they did to hillary. Every time things are not going well for them and they are losing momentum, they bring out one of their “endorsements” to try and change the subject. I am sure they had Powell waiting in the wings and were waiting for the right time for him to endorse.
That said, I think most voters will see it as just another black man for BO. Ho hum…no big deal…an endorsement from another black man and one who had pretty much disgraced himself….also raises troubling issue of how we got into the war that shouldn’t have happened.

I sure wish Hannity,Greta and Dobbs wouold talk more about illegal immigration! Maybe we could all start an email campaign asking them to address the issue.

#200 Grizzly on 10.19.08 at 12:46 pm

Well, well, well.

Colin Powell wuld have us believe that he has remained painfully impartial and has only recently come to the epiphany that Obama is “The One”.

BULLSHIT!

Of course, you will not find this in any US news source, but the UK’s Times Online provides us with an amazing revelation:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4968993.ece

“Powell is unlikely to return to the cabinet after the mauling he received over the Iraq war, but could serve as a special envoy abroad. He is regularly consulted by Obama on foreign policy and military matters, and said last year: “I always keep my eyes open and my ears open to requests for service.” ”

What was that?

“He is regularly consulted by Obama on foreign policy and military matters…”

So Powell has been in “regular” contact with Obama for some time now. That fact leads me to believe the timing of Powell’s “endorsement” was planned and scripted for maximum impact by Obama. If he has been a regular on Obama’s advice circuit, Powell obviously was not going to come out supporting McCain.

Powell gleefully allowed himself to be used as a propaganda tool. This man has absolutely no credibility, and in my book, no honor.

#201 fmster on 10.19.08 at 12:47 pm

#181 Ario, Colin Powell did what many are doing. He is endorning based upon race. The Obama campaign is setting civil rights reform back 50 years in pulling the race card. The message that Obama supporters throw out is that you MUST be racist if you don’t vote for Obama. Policy and ideological differences aren’t important if you believe these lies. It is not Mc Cain that is pulling the race card over and over. Whether anyone wants to believe it, this election has become all about race.

#202 PumaDuma on 10.19.08 at 12:47 pm

nobamadem #143..

Yes, it’s all coming out now about the fraud in the primaries by both sides Rs and Ds..

ACORN is going to be way bigger than we thought.

Last night Greta on Fox did a Part 1 expose on the voter fraud of ACORN . She is doing a Part 2 tonight.

At the end of the broadcast she asked if anyone had more info to send it to her.

I sent her the PUMA UNLEASHED site and offered all the info to her outlining Obama’s associations with terrorist friends, his cousin Odinga running for president and how Obama tried to intercede on his behalf.

Odinga in retaliation for his election loss had people burned alive in a church and also Obama’s association with radical, Louis Farrakhan who is reopening a mosque this weekend in Chicago in honor of the anniversary of The Million Man March..and who openly endorsed Obama.

Here is the info I sent her:

http://pumasunleashed.wordpress.com/2008/10/18/obamas-relatives-terrorists/

It’s basically all fact…very little opinion.
I’m hoping it opens many cans of worms for Obama.

Ario,

I have often wondered over the past two months if the RNC really wants to win this election. An Obama disaster (which is likely) would handicap the Dems for a long time. I’m thinking they are looking to 2012 and they are holding their breath because McCain is a loose cannon in their minds. Powell has fallen on his sword for the party before! Speculation mind you.

No explaining away can hide overt racism. Obama is black (well, half black) Rice is black, and Powell is black and all hail from an oppressed heritage. 95% of all black Americans are voting for Obama becuase he’s black (half black). That’s racism. Colin Powell is a racisist… pure and overtly.

Powell would have been better off had he not endorsed anybody if he couldn’t vote for McCain. Neutrality would have erased any sign of racism.

Thank you for posting that incredibly eloquent piece from the newspaper. It’s so right on (though I thought the writer was generous in his allocation of years of experience!).

BMW60

Congratulations

ALL OTHERS

In my view, we must focus on swing states only. This is where the election will be decided. I know we’re not a McCain site, but at this point, I do believe a lot of what we’re doing comes down to ensuring the right outcome in swing states.

And, again, I cannot tell you what incredible success I’ve had talking with people in my neighborhood with McCain/Palin yard signs (not easy to find around where I live). They are very receptive. None are taking action. I urge them to do more than simply vote. I provide them with helpful links. I talk about caucus fraud if it seems relevant and when I do, for many, it appears to drive the point home about the very real risk of ACORN. I share my experiences making calls to help dispel any reservations they feel about doing so for the McCain campaign. I’ve left every single encounter (and by now I’ve had A LOT) feeling that most, if not all, of those I spoke with were fired up, were going to read the little letter I leave with them, and will likely do something more than wait till November 4th to vote. (The only doors I don’t knock on are those where I think a very elderly person might live. In that case, I simply leave my letter in the mailbox, cause I wouldn’t want to encourage them to open the door to a stranger.)

Hey everyone, this is an *EMERGENCY*

I just saw this ad campaign that is trying to run ads against Barack Obama. As a person with media and communications background, I honestly believe that if this ad campaign runs in swing states that Barack Obama will not be the 44th President of the United States. They need donations ASAP to get these ads running. Check out the commercials at http://WWW.NEVERFINDOUT.ORG. This will work! But we all have got to make sure that these ads make it on air!

#218 Frodo on 10.19.08 at 12:56 pm

What bothers me the most now that evidence is coming out with what we Pumas knew all along that fraud cost Hillary the primary – along with superdelegates and delgates that the whole thing is not considered as illegal and a farce and he is taken down and Hillary put up as the obvious winner based on pure evidence.

#219 KarenWI on 10.19.08 at 12:57 pm

If you think the repubs don’t want to win this.. my GOSH that would be terrible… mark my words folks… if BO wins, and he has a filibuster-proof congress behind him.. one of the first things they will do is make SURE that they will NEVER EVER lose power again… like take away term limits even for potus…. they will make laws that will take your breath away to make absolutely sure that they can NEVER not be in total control in congress AND the presidency again. Nobody will ever be able to touch them again once they get that much power!

I find it interesting that during the debate, McCain mentioned “class war”. The definition of “cold war” is the tension and hositility between two groups without actual armed conflict.

Guess we’re there.

The definition of High Treason is also interesting. I hope when Obama loses that the Secret Service folks who have intimidated the lady in Texas, and probably others, are fired and never allowed to work in law enforcement again. And I hope someone in our judicial system has the guts to do what our constitution has laid out.

Our country was established as a democracy. To me, any person or persons who seek to “change” that to a
socialist country, are undermining our Constitution and should be tried for treason. We are at war at home as well as abroad.

Michelle has been a full participant in the politics and we do get to weigh in our First Lady. Evidence of her flagrant hypocrisy is a real issue. On the world stage, she’s an embarrassment – typical nouveau rich, first generation entitled elitist, and generally lacking in empathy and likability. There are people of all colors fitting this description. OH, did I mention racist?

Good idea! I was also thinking something showing people what will happen under a socialist nobo administration.

1. News stations like FOX who disagree with the dems. may lose their license or not beable to fairly report. So our freedom of speech could be very restricted.

1. If a college studen borrows any fed money, they will be required to do community service.

3. Junior military-like groups will be established to start learning the philosophy and integrate it into evey portion of soceity.

4. Taxes will go up as they have to pay for all the social services the government will provide and that money will come from us. Regular ‘ol people who work hard to make a living and want to retire comfortably will not have that free choice and will be required to share your wealth.

5. Everyone will be entitled to own a house and we will be forced to pay for all the people who don’t want to work but are “entitled.”

6. You don’t dare speak up against the govt., you will be told what you can and can’t say.

These are just a few things I can think of based on what has actually been happening during the election. I was a dem and do believe in helping people in need and giving low cost health coverage but I don’t believe that we should be FORCED to lose so many rights because we will be in a socialist society.

If people SAW and heard all the freedoms they are losing, I think they would really be afraid and not vote for nobo.

5.

Maxgrader and osaka puma, the really sad part is that by blacks voting purely along racial grounds is they are hurting themselves. Blacks are not the only people who have been oppressed. Look at the oppressed people who lived under Russian and Soviet rule for centuries. Whether black or white, being racist limits one’s potential because they look for entitlement instead of developing their own talents to advance their race.

As I stated before, Obama’s calling the race card is divisive and sets civil rights reform back 50 years. This must be the technique of choice among community organizers. Racial (or any prejudice) is self-destructive, and we should all guard against this. The bitter fight that is going on in this campaign should not divide us. even if obama were to be elected..some superficial things will change but they will be mostly an appearance or illusion of change..
obama is all about smoke and mirrors and sleight of hand trickery..sooner or later his little bag of tricks will eventually run out
it will be business as usual..the only profound change will be that the richer will get richer and the poor poorer..
once obama starts making decisions and cutting up the shrinking pie hes gonna pissoff some demographic group or another off if he dares to put on his black nationalist hat when doling out the spoils of racial favoritism with a “super affirmative action” program for blacks or a tidal wave of millions of mexicans with drivers licences coming up north to work for pennies on the dollar it will be a head on train wreck collision just waiting to happen.. all these things will only create a “balkan” like situation where racial politics become hardened and lines drawn..
just like we have been saying all along obama is a divider not a uniter

Some are better at tracing down links than I, so if anyone can trace this down, I would love to have the link:

Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn’ USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain why he doesn’t follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171… During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, “Stand and Face It”

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, “As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides”, Obama said. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression”. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped or something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song “I’d Like To Teach the World To Sing.” If that were our anthem, then I might salute it. “We should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as redesigning our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It’s my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails, perhaps a state or period of mutual concord would exist between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. “She has her views and I have mine”. Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country’s First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.”

WHAAAAAAAT the Hell !!! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our next President. I, for one, am speechless.

Regarding API article #179: Well put. People are so wishing for “a miracle” to turn things around from the last 8 years, that the “Will-o-The Wisp” syndrome is very pausible. Turning around this country in 4 years is going to be next to impossible and O and his ilk will not have the experience or the smarts to do it without making a worse mess.

#241 Pumasupporter, we are all Americans. My ancestors like yours were enslaved for hundreds of years, mine under Czarist Russia. That is why the evils of communism and socialism were drilled into me at an early age. All people, regardless of their culture, have the same basic needs, concerns and aspirations. Martin Luther King was a great leader who called for equality among all people. We, as a nation, have made progress since the 1960s, but still have a long way to go.

Everyone, let’s not let one divisive radical, Obama, destroy the progress that has been made.

“So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, and they cling to guns, or religion, or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment, or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Another excellent article on Riverdaughter’s site & several quotes of the Pimp’s are there.

NEW YORK — The fake Sarah Palin has been doing great things for “Saturday Night Live,” but the real one put “SNL” over the top to its highest overnight ratings in 14 years.

“SNL” — with Palin as a guest — averaged a 10.7 rating/24 share in the 56 metered markets, according to preliminary estimates released Sunday by Nielsen Media Research. It would be the highest-rated “SNL” since March 12, 1994, when Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan was the host and Aretha Franklin the musical guest. “SNL” would also be the third-highest-rated show of all last week, including primetime, following only ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” (12.0/18) and CBS’ “CSI” (11.2/17).

PROGRESS at the Polls

Thanks to Caracal Carrie (and Fox News) it seems that the Gallup Poll is giving out more information on how accurate there polling is:
_____________________________________________
Gallup Daily: Obama Retains Significant Lead NEW October 19, 2008
Barack Obama again leads John McCain nationally by 10 percentage points among all registered voters, 52% to 42%. His advantage narrows to either 7 or 3 points among likely voters, depending on how that group is defined.
____________________________________________

The definition of the likely voters is the part where more Democrats or Republicans in the sampling comes into picture. With all the Acorn Registrations this is no longer know and so they are all just guessing.

One thing that is very clear is that there are way more Democrats than Republicans in the sample pool.

RE: ALOHA’S CONCERN REGARDING SOMETHING BEING A HOAX

Just a quick comment that I think that’s a real concern about lots of stuff out there. Think of how many petitions we’ve all signed this year that never defined what the signature goal was, who the organization was sponsoring the petition, where, when or how the petition would be delivered and to whom. Even these very polished ads we’ve just seen are from a group we don’t know that is asking for money. I’m not saying they’re not legit, but it’s so hard to know if this day and age of the internet and in this heated political climate. I would caution anyone before jumping into anything that involves handing over contact info and/or money. With so few days to go before election day, I’d stick with what and who we know (The Denver group, for example, or the McCain campaign). Just my 2 cents.

McCain is gaining ground and momentum due to Bozo shooting off his mouth about his intended socialism. I still think he’s a communist at heart but let’s roll with socialism for now since it’s more believable to all.

Bozo is pulling the same bs he did during the primaries. ALL of it. Voter fraud…….race card……..sexist tactics…….and now when he’s starting to lose ground, he pulls out all the stops on this one……endorsements right and left……huge preplanned rally in St Louis…….then early releasing his fundraising numbers. He’s had Powell in his corner since the primaries. He knew it would be a better strategic move to let it out if he needed it at the end which he did. Although, the majority of people I’ve talked to are passing it off as race related since Powell has nothing in common w/Bozo and his comments about Palin’s inexperience on foreign matters is ridiculous. I will never understand why idiots continue to spew that as their reason when Bozo is running for President and has the least experience of all. The only thing I can figure out is the fact that she’s a woman so we all know she apparently should have twice the experience of any man according to this country. Another reason is they HATE the fact that she’s a regular American and doesn’t have an ivy league snob education. How dare she go to a state school like most of us?

Bozo’s tactics are pathetic and predictable to anyone who’s been paying attention. Bozo is doing his best to change the subject from his spread the wealth and high taxes in this crappy economy to stupid topics like endorsements, crowds and fundraising numbers. I thought he would like nothing other than to talk of the economy etc? Yet another bold faced lie.

I hope McCain paid attention to the primaries so he knows what to do now. F U bozo.

Oncve in a while they come out with a good skit like the Penelope skits that were running for a while, but most of it is truly lame. I’m surprised the show is still on, so someone must find it funny. Civil war may happen in our near future regardless of who wins. If our economic collapse results in a political meltdown we may see the US break up into two or three separate nations. California would be the economic power house of the western states, Texas would run the south, and New York would run the northeast. The battleground would be the midwest.

This is in today’s NYT.

“They bear us children, they risk their lives to give us birth, so maybe it’s time we let a woman lead us,” said Larry Hawkins, a former truck driver attending a rally late Thursday at Elon University in North Carolina. Mr. Hawkins said he would rather vote for Ms. Palin than for “McCain and Obama combined.”

Men have done plenty to mess up the country, he said. “The sexual drives and big egos of male leaders have gotten in the way of politics in this country.”

Was he talking about BOBO?

update from greenfun and billiejo:

“Reporting from Reno NV here. BillieJo and I got into town yesterday.
We checked in with the McCain campaign, but decided to go out on our own as we came
armed with close to 3,000 flyers and did not want to spend our time going door to
door canvassing. Yesterday we posted around downtown at busy intersections and
casino employee areas and everyone else we met–we got into town late afternoon so
had limited time. Today we spent over 2 hrs this morning putting our flyers–some
beautiful high quality flyers from puma pac along with DEM for Mccain/Palin and some
about voter fraud and ACORN– on cars in the high rise casino employee parking
garages. Also in the elevators. We then went to the hispanic neighborhood with big
HRC buttons on at a big supermacado and passed out our flyers in Spanish. BO had his
campaign people there, but honestly-we were met with smiles ( because of HRC
buttons) and they seemed rather indifferent to BO people. No McCain people in sight.
We then headed to a big mall and blanketed cars and
neighborhood shopping areas. We ended the day by putting our colorful pro-Sarah
flyers on poles at high-visibility intersections. All in all, we dispersed over
2,000 flyers today. Tired. Tomorrow, we will again unload what we have left( about
1,000) and head for home around 1pm. Not one negative interaction the entire time. I
highly recommend getting here if you can pumas–there is more BO visibilty because
he is paying college students. They aren’t as passionate as we are and the latino
community is so welcoming to HRC supporters. We are running out of time, and I
cannot possibly face an Obama Presidency—-go get em Pumas.”

This is what I wrote to API:

“Thank you for the update. PLEASE give the tape to Greta Van Susteren at Fox News. Greta is the host of On the Record with Greta Van Susteren. She’s a former criminal defense and civil trial lawyer and she is VERY credible and fair.”

IF this is real, I think that Greta would be the best person on Fox to cover it. IMO, Hannity is too partisan.

I hope the African Press Int’l isn’t stringing us along, too. But I’m willing to give them the benefit of a doubt. Because, with the Obama supporters bombarding them, I would think they wouldn’t have cleared it for release.

API, in their recent articles, sound offended that they are being doubted.

You know, my daughter, back in June, said she had the feeling that something was going to come out about Obama and he was going to have to drop out of the race. And guess who was going to replace him. Hillary!
She has a gut feeling Hillary will be our next President.

Well soon find out if she’s right.

She’s had gut feelings before and they came true. She gets mad at me now for doubting her about Hillary. I told her it’s only 2 1/2 weeks away.

I’ll have to keep the faith.

Well this article is on the money, Obama hangs himself with this endorsement.
Its absolutely correct, Powells endorsement is actually an albatross.
http://www.gopublius.com/?p=485
In a surprise announcement designed to have maximum media effect, former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, endorsed Senator Barack Obama. While early media reports have trumpeted the announcement as a coup for Obama, the endorsement is likely to shock many longtime anti-war, anti-Bush Democrats who will feel betrayed and uncomfortable with the notion of Obama receiving support from one of the leading figures of the Iraq War strategy. Indeed, given Obama’s strategy of opposing all things Bush, the Democrat is likely to find the support of George W. Bush’s former secretary of state a dubious blessing.
While the media will receive the news of Powell’s endorsement with appropriate fanfare, in an election in which Obama’s judgment on the war has been a central justification for his presidency, Powell’s support makes for an awkward pairing. In the eyes of most Democrats and the international media, Powell left the Bush Administration a much-diminished figure, and his salesmanship of the Iraq War before the United Nations has been routinely cited as Exhibit A in the theory that the Bush Administration lied in its justification for the war. Though Powell has long contended that he was convinced by the evidence that he saw prior to making his presentation to the United Nations and supporting the invasion, today’s endorsement places Obama in a difficult position. If Obama and his supporters accept Powell’s endorsement, and embrace his contention that his assessment of pre-war intelligence was an honest mistake, they must also accept the same explanation from Bush, thus eviscerating the core of their anti-war message: “Bush Lied.” Alternatively, to cling to the “Bush lied” theory necessarily mans that Powell’s failure to get it right on Iraq can only be explained by an acknowledgment that Powell himself either lied for, or was duped by the Bush Administration – alternatives not likely to engender esteem for Powell’s judgment.
Moreover, Powell’s support opens up a sweet avenue of attack for rival John McCain, who can now fashion the catch phrase, “Bush-Obama” foreign policy, hanging the albatross of Powell’s support around his opponent’s neck, while trumpeting his own extensive military experience as well as depth of support in the military and diplomatic arenas. In an early response to the Powell endorsement, Senator John McCain coolly noted, “I’m also very pleased to have the endorsement of four former secretaries of state — Secretaries Kissinger, Baker, Eagleburger, and Haig — and I’m proud to have the endorsement of well over 200 retired Army generals and admirals

Great post! Some of the comments at NoQ echoed your thoughts. Been there, done that with BO in the primaries, when Hillary won a primary, he trotted out another endorsement or his fundraising figures.

Thoughts about a Dem Congress….

When you listen to Reid, Pelosi, Franks, and Dodd, do Americans really believe that these Democrats have the best interests of the country at heart? They come across as old political hacks. The geniune leaders from the past all had a sense of humor and class. Senator George Mitchell and Rep. Tip O’Neill come to mind. Tip worked very effectively with Reagan.

Pelosi and Reid are part of the problem and that’s why I believe that they have zero credibility with the electorate.

They claim Michelle stated Obama was adopted by his stepfather. If that’s true, then he was an Indonesian citizen for a period of time. If that is the case, then it appears he lost his “natural born” status making him ineligible to hold the office of POTUS.

Osaka: If the API story is true, then MO admitted that BO was previously and possibly still is an Indonesian citizen b/c he was “adopted” by his stepfather. When he came back, he would have to be “naturalized”, making him a naturalized US citizen, thus helping Berg’s case.

I honestly don’t think the API tape will have much of an impact on the election (if it exists). The only way the MSM will pick up any portion of this controversy is if someone produces concrete evidence that O isn’t a natural born citizen. In the interview, Michelle in response to the controversy surrounding BO’s citizenship claims that “American white racists” are bringing up the issue, that “there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president,” and says that BO “was born in Hawaii, yes, and that gives him all the right to be an American citizen even though he was adopted by a foreigner.”

It’s the “adopted by a foreigner” comment that would be damning.

the way i see this Barak thing now is this.

If past relations, past actions, anything related to one’s past does not matter now for any candidate, all’s fair game as long as you can smile, make a decent speech, and have a money machine, so no matter what happens, any candidate can just relate back to this election and say, well, barak’s past didnt effect his electibility, neither did his experience, hey maybe Joe the Plumber could run LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

#410 alohapuma on 10.19.08 at 2:43 pm

jimmythehook and others,

This is where I think I’ve dropped down a rabbit hole. We are entitled to know if Obama is a natural born citizen by law.

It baffles me that the Federal Court or the DNC (someone) verify his citizenship status. Obama has REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH DISCOVERY in the Berg case. Instead he’s hiding behind legalese challenging Berg’s standing to file. The decent and you would think mandatory thing to do it produce the birth certificate.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why there isn’t more coverage of this. A person of repute has filed an action in Federal Court. The mere question should be newsworthy.

The API story should be irrelevant.

It was weird though, knowing what we know now and being transported, in a sense, to the not too distant past. It was sorta like a ‘back to the future’ (the movie) experience.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/Limbaugh_Where_are_the_inexperienced_white_liberals_Powell_has_endorsed.html?showall

Limbaugh: Where are the inexperienced, white liberals Powell has endorsed?
Rush Limbaugh said Colin Powell’s decision to get behind Barack Obama appeared to be very much tied to Obama’s status as the first African-American with a chance to become president.

“Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race,” Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail. “OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I’ll let you know what I come up with.”

As for Powell’s statement of concern this morning about the sort of Supreme Court justices a President McCain might appoint, Limbaugh wrote: “I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making him a four-star [general] and secretary of state and appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let’s hear it for transformational figures.”

“there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president,”

I think I recall Mrs Obama saying something more like (paraphrasing here) that she and obama: “know of no law that will stop him from becoming president”
Meaning, they believe there are withing teh parameters of the law, not that they will disregard any laws that will try to stop him.

I’m not a lawyer, but as far as I know that if a child moves to Indonesia with a parent, and the parent becomes an Indonesian citizen, the child may still retain US citizenship because the standard the US Supreme Court set in 1967 says that a person must INTEND to give up citizenship in order to lose it. A minor child cannot have intent under the law because he did not make the decision himself because he wasn’t old enough to.
—————————————————————-

Beys Afroyim (born Ephraim Bernstein in Poland in 1893) immigrated to the US in 1912 and became a naturalized US citizen in 1926. In 1950, Afroyim moved to Israel. He tried to renew his US passport in 1960, but the State Department refused on the grounds that he had lost his citizenship by voting in an Israeli election in 1951. Afroyim sued the State Department, and the Supreme Court ruled (5-4) that he was still a US citizen.

The basic point of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Afroyim v. Rusk was that the “citizenship clause” of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution — while originally intended mainly to guarantee citizenship to freed Negro slaves and their descendants, and subsequently interpreted in Wong Kim Ark as conferring citizenship at birth to virtually everyone born in the US — had effectively elevated citizenship to the status of a constitutionally protected right. Hence, Congress had no right to pass a law which had the effect of depriving an American of his citizenship without his assent.

Thus, the court ruled, a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act mandating automatic loss of citizenship for voting in a foreign election was invalid. Other, similar provisions providing for loss of citizenship for serving in a foreign army, or even swearing allegiance to a foreign country, were similarly invalid unless the action was accompanied by an intent to give up US citizenship.

—————————————————————-
As to whether or not O was born in Kenya, and not the US, maybe Berg is on to something. I trust the judicial process to a certain extent. I’m sure if he isn’t an American citizen the RNC will get to the bottom of it. Even if the worst happens and O wins and then its proved he’s not a citizen, he will be stripped of the presidency and Joe Biden will be POTUS. I could live with Biden as President.

About the Powell endorsement –

The liberal left have called Colin Powell a “sell out” “house n*ggah, “uncle tom” etc, etc, for that past 8 years ….

With this endorsement, he’s now their darling. Idiots all.

Sec Powell says his endorsement is not about race. BS. Show me ONE past endorsement from Powell of an inexperienced, very liberal, white candidate that he’s endorsed.

How many? Zero.

You know they have to have researched this. They are lawyers after all.

Unless the stepfather commited fraud against the Indonesian government, the circumstances appear to support Berg as far as Indonesian citizenship. So the question then would be (assuming he was born in Hawaii); Did he regain or retain his “natural born” status when he returned to the US at 10 years of age?

It’s strange but when I received the call from our supplier in Texas my first thought was how can we help them get through this crunch.

I can say with certainty that it’s because of this blog that I felt a need to want to help them, simply because they’re american, and because of my american friendships i’ve developed with other Puma’s.

My second thought was, perhaps when people see the effect of this financial crisis on other businesses in different countries, they will back off with their snarky comments about “canadians and others minding their own business”.

As for those who have left, most really haven’t left, they’re still here reading, getting educated, doing the prowls, e-mailing the friends they’ve made, they’re still very active Puma’s. They just post a lot less. But, feel free to give them a shout out, they’ll see it and smile. I’m 100% sure of this.

The details are a blur to me (I’m prematurely “old”), but there are other issues, some calculus that his mother failed to meet by one year, and if Onotlikableenough had dual citizenship, he would have had to formally declare allegiance to the US when he was 21 to fully reinstate his US citizenship.

Because BO and the MSM have launched a campaign to crucify one innocent citizen for doing his duty, BO is revealing his inner core as a third world dictator and thug.

Most citizens will be outraged at Joe being silenced and now losing his job. I am sure many of us including Republicans will help Joe.

Right. All of that is true. Also, Obama may have traveled on an Indonesian passport when he visited Pakistan in his twenties. Also, if he did reinstate US citizenship at 21, then he still might not have retained his “natural born” status.

The other matter has to do with his actual place of birth. His paternal grandmother says she was present at his birth in Kenya. She could be like a lot of grandmothers who like to brag and the stories get bigger. Mine was that way.

Still…if this is all smoke and mirrors why isn’t Obama forthcoming…???

Keep adding your insight, everything helps!
They are stalling, claiming Berg has no jusrisdiction or something like that. They want THAT resolved before discovery which shouldn’t ,make a difference because they could still do discovery.

I have the nobo talking points down pretty well. If this is verified AFTER the election, they will argue that is will cause too much discourse in the country and therefore let it be, after all it is just four years. If necessary they will go to the paid off Supreme court to the paid off justices and get them to work around it.

Bottom-line it has to be hard-core proof. Too many of the things don’t work. It would have been virtually impossible for his mother to travel to Hawaii as far along as she was in her pregnancy. She would not have been allowed to travel from Kenya. Grandma in Kenya claims nobo WAS born there and she was there when he was born. When he travelled to Pakistan with a friend , no american was allowed to travel there unless they were a high-ranking government official, so he had to be travelling under a different passport, it is thought an Indonesian one, thus questioning his “other citizenships.” You can’t be president if you have a dual citizenship. You sound like you know more about this, but I know Pumas have been dealing with this for months now. MommaE explains all the reasoning and laws much better than I can.

Not sure about what the supreme court ruling you mention, but I believe his mom did not meet the requirements for him to be considered an established natural born citiaen as she had to live in the U.S. for so many years before and after she left the country and for nobo to be a citizen he would have been born when she was 18, I believe and he wasn’t born until she was 21 (maybe I have that backwards, haven’t looked at the constitutional requirements in a few months). Anyway, the math doesn’t add up right on the nobo side.

Jimmythehook,

I take that back. It’s more evasive than I thought. Obama filed for a Protective Order to DELAY discovery until the Motion to Dismiss is decided.

In human terms…Obama is asking the court to protect him from having to reveal his citizenship information until the court decides if Berg has the right to ask the question in the first place.

Again, Obama is hiding something. The American people have the right to ask the question. I do not understand why some media outlet isn’t on this question.

Topic: Bill Clinton
Source: Wickipedia

William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III, August 19, 1946)[1] served as the forty-second President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He was the fifteenth Democrat elected to that office. He was the third-youngest president, only older than Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. He became president at the end of the Cold War, and as he was born in the period after World War II, is known as the first Baby Boomer president.[2] His wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is a United States Senator from New York.

Clinton was described as a New Democrat and was largely known for the Third Way philosophy of governance that came to epitomize his two terms as president.[3] His policies, on issues such as the North American Free Trade Agreement and welfare reform, have been described as “centrist.”[4][5]

Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history, which included a balanced budget and a reported federal surplus.[6][7] Based on Congressional accounting rules, at the end of his presidency Clinton reported a surplus of $559 billion. On the heels of a failed attempt at health care reform with a Democratic Congress, Republicans won control of the House of Representatives for the first time in forty years.[8] Two years later, he was re-elected and became the first member of the Democratic Party since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term as President.[9] Later he was impeached for obstruction of justice, but subsequently was acquitted by the U.S. Senate.[10][11]

Clinton left office with an approval rating at 65%, the highest end of office rating of any President since World War II.[12] Since then, Clinton has been involved in public speaking and humanitarian work. To promote and address international causes, such as treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and global warming, he created the William J. Clinton Foundation.

#482 jimmythehook on 10.19.08 at 3:37 pm

I haven’t been researching this for as long as you guys have. I didn’t learn about this case until I joined which wasn’t too long ago. I’m just afraid we might be devoting resources to a losing battle if he is a citizen when, in my opinion, we should be devoting resources to areas we can win/prove. I do agree that if O was born in Kenya then he can’t run. But if he was born in Hawaii, its my personal belief that he does meet the citizenship requirement. That belief is based on the fact that the 14th amendment to the constitution grants US citizenship to anyone born in the United States except those who aren’t under US government jurisdiction. There is no requirement to live here a certain amount of time after being born to be a citizen. According to the US State Dept. O’s mother could not have legally taken away his citizenship, even if he was adopted by an Indonesian father. This is from the State Dept. website.
—————————————————————
Parents cannot renounce U.S. citizenship on behalf of their minor children. Before an oath of renunciation will be administered under Section 349(a)(5) of the INA, a person under the age of eighteen must convince a U.S. diplomatic or consular officer that he/she fully understands the nature and consequences of the oath of renunciation, is not subject to duress or undue influence, and is voluntarily seeking to renounce his/her U.S. citizenship.
—————————————————————

Unless O went to a US diplomatic or consular officer and convinced him/her that he understood the ramifications of renunciation, he would still be a US citizen. But I agree he should put all this to rest and produce the vault copy of his birth certificate. Does anyone have the link that shows where O’s grandmother said he was born in Kenya? I’d like to examine it. I promise you guys I won’t post anymore arguments that he is a citizen, because I want him to lose :-)

And Berg is waiting for the opportunity to get that information. But first the judge must grant his motion for expedited discovery. In addition to witnesses, there is probably a wealth of information Berg is waiting to tap. Like phone records. Calls to and from grandma’s house before and after the birth. Of particular interest would be international calls – to or from Canada or Africa. If everyone was really in Hawaii for the birth, one would not expect to see any calls from a foreign country.

Bank records are another one – any checks or transfers of money to folks outside of Hawaii, as well as where those funds were sent or cashed.

Not that it does any good or that he reads these, but every now & again I send an email to Bill. He’s not really retired, but I figure he has a little more spare time than Hillary! And wtf, feels good to get it off your chest!

Here’s what I wrote him this morning:

~ ~ ~

Dear Bill,
I just wanted to tell you I still think you are one of the best Presidents our country has ever had the fortune of having take the helm. Millions of voters voted for Hillary and have become disenfranchised with what happened during the primaries – including the payoff of superdelegates by the Obama campaign, and the suppression of an Open Rollcall at the convention.

You, of anyone, can probably understand our frustration and continued disillusionment with politics.

Obama’s lack of leadership experience, monetary obligations to all corners of the globe, his racist pastor(s) and the company he keeps should give all Americans reason for pause when casting their ballots in November.

If his Birth certificate cannot be authenticated, voter fraud, or a Background Check reveals he is unfit to become President and he is forced to step aside, it is still the fervent wish of millions of America voters that Hillary will step in and assume the leadership position that was rightfully hers.

Sincerely,
XXXX, lifelong Democrat, former precinct worker for the Dems
now Independent voter

IF Joe the plumber lost his job, it would be very interesting to know the reason why that they gave him… because he was gone doing interviews too much?.. because the business was being boycotted (or threatened) by BO supporters?… because of being so well-known now?… because his boss didn’t KNOW he wanted to buy the business and doesn’t want to sell it? It would be very interesting……

Sarah, at her next rally, should say that her new friend Joe has just announced that all you Americans out there who haven’t decided who you are voting for are racists. Well, you can join me, McCain and everyone else in the USA who objects to Senator Obama in any way, as being labeled racists. I think they’ve just about included everyone now.

“natural born”… calculus comes into play if one of the parents isn’t a US citizen. In this case oneof teh parents must have resided in the US fo 5 years, and have been over a certain age when the birth ocurred. His mother misses the quotient by a one year deficit.

The judge has not ruled yet on discovery OR dismissal on the Berg case, which has been going since like August. The following link has the motions that have been filed in the Berg case:

http://news.justia.com/cases/featured/pennsylvania/paedce/2:2008cv04083/281573/

Since the Berg case is still open, Andy Martin went to Hawaii to find the “birth certificate” etc. Finding all documents sealed, Andy Martin is now suing for “discovery” as well.

The reason Indonesian citizenship is such a big deal is because Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship, and only Indonesian citizens were allowed to go to school in Indonesia, which there are AP photos of his school registration in Indonesia.

#494 catsarepumas on 10.19.08 at 3:46 pm

jimmythehook and anyone interested in BERG LAWSUIT:

Berg’s argument in that when BO was adopted (or acknowledged) by his Indonesian father (not when he moved there), BO lost his citizenship because at that time Indonesia did not recognize dual citizenship therefore neither did the U.S. BO would have automatically lost his citizenship in the US by way of being an Indonesian. BO also traveled to Pakistan when US citizens were forbidden to do so, so he probably used an Indonesian passport.

McCain: Obama cash will lead to scandal
By KENNETH P. VOGEL | 10/19/08 10:53 AM EDT

John McCain suggested that his Democratic rival Barack Obama’s record-shattering fundraising haul will lead to scandal in their presidential race and future races, and he hinted that there may already be funny business going on with Obama’s legions of small donors.

Obama announced Sunday morning that he pulled in $150 million in September, which McCain described on “Fox News Sunday” as “completely breaking whatever idea we had after Watergate to keep the cost and spending on campaigns under control. First time, first time since the Watergate scandal. And I can tell you this: that has unleashed now in presidential campaigns a new flood of spending that will then cause a scandal and then we will fix it again. But Sen. Obama has broken it.”

Making a quick pit stop at home to adjust my letter. Sorry if this post is off topic…no time to catch up on posts….

Discovered that by having the word Barack Obama in my opening sentence, some thought I was a BO supporter and didn’t want to engage with me. Once I clarified, all was well, but I realized it created an needless barrier and awkward start for some. So, I made a few changes in the letter I’m bringing when I visit folks with McCain/Palin yard signs:
—————————————————–
Dear Neighbor,

I see we both support the McCain/Palin ticket! I am a (former) Democrat who will proudly cast my vote for John McCain on November 4th. However, I feel very strongly that this year more than ever before, it is not enough to simply vote. There is too much at stake and we stand to have the election stolen by the Obama campaign. They committed voter fraud throughout the Democratic primaries and likely stole the nomination from Senator Clinton as a result. (If you want to read more about this visit http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/.) Now we all stand to have the general election stolen if we do not take action. In addition to casting your vote for McCain/Palin on election day, here are some things you may also want to consider:

Check out PUMApac blog at http://www.PUMApac.org. This is a grassroots organization that emerged along with hundreds of other grassroots organizations following the Democratic convention. (They all fall under the main umbrella organization called Just Say No Deal:
http://www.justsaynodeal.com/index2.html.) It is an organization committed to taking action whenever and wherever necessary to reveal corruption within the Democratic party, to expose Obama, and to get the word out to the media, elected officials and others about why Obama must not be the next President of the United States. It has an extremely active blog with incredible links and an Action Center that contains easy actions, links to media, sample letters to the editor, and numerous other resources.

Visit conservative on line publications such as American Thinker (http://www.americanthinker.com/), Pajamas Media (http://pajamasmedia.com/), or Common Sense Regained (http://www.kyleanneshiver.com/).

But most of all, take action! It won’t be enough just to vote on election day. There are precious few days remaining to make sure we elect John McCain. We must each do our part.

Volunteer for the McCain/Palin campaign (http://www.johnmccain.com). They need everyone’s support right now! If you’ve never been politically active, don’t be shy. Jump in. You’ll see how good it feels to support a campaign, especially by making calls to voters in SWING STATES. This is where the election will be decided. You can make calls from home. The campaign provides a script. You just sit and follow it on the computer. It’s easy and before you know it, you’ll feel really empowered and great about doing something to make sure McCain wins!

We only have a handful of days before election day and a long road ahead. I hope you will join with me in our common goal.

#507 DeepSouth on 10.19.08 at 3:58 pm

#498 #504…..Osaka you have asked two very interesting and pertinent questions. Does anyone know the answer? If not, I will try to fit in some research time tomorrow.

Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS PROVIDES AID TO OBAMA CAMPAIGN

RALEIGH—North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Linda Daves released the following statement in response to the Cumberland County Board of Elections expanding hours at two additional polling sites specifically for the purpose of aiding Senator Barack Obama’s rally in Fayetteville today. (“Cumberland County adds two new polling sites,” Fayetteville Observer, 10/18/08)

“It is a gross distortion of the voting process for the Democrat-controlled Cumberland County Board of Elections to expand the number of early polling locations at the last minute to accommodate Senator Obama’s campaign rally. Their action makes the voting process an extension of a partisan political rally and that is clearly inappropriate.

“With the many unanswered questions surrounding Senator Obama’s extensive relationship with ACORN along with the ongoing investigations in numerous states into the organization by election officials and by the FBI, the North Carolina Republican Party finds it astounding that additional voting locations were made available at an ‘emergency meeting’ without adequate notice to the general public. Barack Obama will say or do anything to win.

“To be clear, the North Carolina Republican Party and the people of North Carolina are not against the expansion of polling hours or locations. However, North Carolinians are outraged when it is done at the last minute on an ‘emergency’ basis for the sole purpose of benefitting Senator Obama’s campaign.”

Maybe Obama could send some of his wolves to destroy all records that he and his mother were ever in Indonesia or that he ever used the name Barry Soetoro.
Unless the US also wants to retroactively change the dual citizenship law at the same time Indonesia does. lol…

#438 Also, Obama may have traveled on an Indonesian passport when he visited Pakistan in his twenties. Also, if he did reinstate US citizenship at 21, then he still might not have retained his “natural born” status.
______________________________________
Per Indonesian law – A foreign child aged below 21 and unmarried, who is adopted by an Indonesian, will be eligible for Indonesian citizenship if the process does NOT cause dual citizenship …. and

Per Indonesian law – part of the procedure to obtain an Indonesian Passport, you would be required to “provide” evidence that you no longer hold another citizenship.

We know BO as an adult traveled under an Indonesian passport, so regardless of whether he was born in the US or Africa, he would have HAD to give up citizenship in any other country.

What makes all this even more suspect, if true, is the ensuing cover up. In July 2007, U.S. Congressman Eni Faleomavaega, an Obama supporter (and super delegate), went to Indonesia to acquire all Indonesian government records potentially damaging to Barack Obama’s candidacy for the US presidency. See link below to read more about it.

http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/obama-is-indonesian/

My guess is the Indonesian government record show either (A) BO was born in Africa or (B) he was born in the US but gave up his US citizenship in order to become an Indonesian citizen.

I remember my last great love.

Love would fill me all over. I came to understand that the love I felt is the spiritual experience of God inside of me. The god inside of me is the ONE TRUE GOD.

However, painfully I came to learn that the love was NOT coming from my love being so wonderful. I came to learn that I was the one who was so wonderful because I could experience God inside of me.

Today I believe that the ultimate love affair is to fall in love with ourself. I have not quite done that as yet. still working on it. But definitely loving our lovers fully is the path to loving ourself more fully.

Enjoy for the experience of God within ourself is the ultimate journey of our life. Let yourself go. for the more you surrender to love the closer you are to god.

Thats the question. If he was born in Hawaii, adopted by his Indonesian stepfather and held Indonesian citizenship for a time, can he then regain his “natural born” status or does he become “naturalized” which means he is not eligible for the presidency.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

He definitely becomes naturalized.

I will bet you big money that Obama registered at college as a foreign student with foreign citizenship. Not as an American citizen. Lets see the records from those 3 colleges. His application for admittance.
