Too late, RD. They’ve already been hurt. Remember our Zee back in August? Last week a woman in Manhattan was smacked in the head with a stick by an Obama supporter who just couldn’t “control his rage.” See Joe Cannon on this one as well. He speaks for all of us.

No one’s going to make this stop for us, Pumas. We have to do it ourselves.

It’s bad enough that we need to listen to Couric ask these demeaning questions of her, but then to have this monster come out of nowhere to harm her is just sick. So these are the Democrats ? Where is the outrage ? Agree with her or not, Palin is not deserving of this treatment. Neither was Hillary.

MURPHY -

Just caught this before leaving my house…Can someone with computer skills provide the link to the u-tube so those of us who want to can forward the link to the media along with a letter can do so? If someone can, can they/you please post an obvious heading so it’s easy to find on the blog? Thanks.

I don’t think calling the Obama campaign is the way to go. It’s that very campaign that is fueling such confrontational culture to begin with. Where were they when Ludacris wrote a song stating Hillary was an irrelevant bitch? When you encourage people to argue and get it their faces and people make threats of a race war and those who don’t support Obama are accused of being racist and women-hating is acceptable, this is what we get.

Obama’s not going to respond at all. He’s the problem.

I want to send it to every media outlet possible. I want to forward it to the Women’s Media Center. I want to forward it to the McCain campaign. I want to forward it to every other non-msm I can think of. I want to add it to my running list of outrages to give to people as to why Obama is all wrong for America.

Need a link!

Wow….where the hell did that come from?

I just came from the dog park and got into an argument with a friend and colleague…now just a colleague.
He basically verbally assaulted me as to how I could not vote BO after I first told him not to go there.
Ultimately he said that associations with terrorists didn’t bother him, particularly the PLO because they have suffered so much and that is the only way to get what they want. I let him know how inaccurate, offensive and anti semitic I thought that was.

If this is how most Americans feel, then I no longer belong in this country. I truly fear for this country if BO gets elected because of what it says about americans.

I wish I could be more positive on the API tape and think this could a a great thing if all the networks where fighting for it and want to be the first to expose this tape. But how could NBC/MSNBC want to expose this tape after 19 months of falling all over themselves for Obama and then trash him in one day. They want 4 years of doing that. They don’t want any chance of Hillary back in play at the last minute. All the other networks too. FOX has changed their tone the last few weeks too. Hannity would love to expose this tape but the suits in NY will keep him from doing that. He wants to keep his job and will enjoy trashing the chosen one of the next four years.

#55 BrooklynNY on 10.19.08 at 4:37 pm

LETTER TO THE MEDIA: Threw it together fast. Use as is or edit as you see fit.
———————————————
To all interested parties:

While the media rages on about the McCain campaign and a few supporters who shouted anti-Obama sentiments at a rally, it has curiously ignored all year long, the relentless attacks on those who does not support Obama. Women, in particular, have been targeted viciously and relentlessly. The media has chosen to overlook the confrontational culture that Obama campaign has fueled.

Clinton supporters in caucus states were assaulted and some received death threats.

Those who do not support Obama are automatically accused of being racist. In Missouri, you might find the Sheriff at your door if you dare speak against Obama in a way the campaign deems to be spreading untruths.

Obama urges his supporters to “argue” and “get in their faces.”

We’ve heard threats of a “race war” if Obama is not elected.

Obama supporter, Father Phlegler, rants in a provocative “sermon” about distorted images of Senator Clinton.

We’ve seen young teen age boys in battle fatigues in Nebraska chanting mindlessly about Obama as they go through indoctrination, army-like unison movements and words.

The famous rapper, Ludicrus, an Obama supporter, writes a song that refers to Hillary Clinton as an irrelevant bitch.

We’ve heard Louis Farrakhan, a man who proudly announced that he thought Hitler was a great man, claim Obama is the messiah.

And now we have this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN2eZtAPLiY

When will the press wake up and realize that the Obama campaign has spent the entire year accusing their opponent (first Senator Clinton and now Senator McCain) of doing the very thing they do? Where is your unbiased reporting?

This climate of confrontation and violence must end. Obama must be called out, and it must happen now and strongly.

#79 LandiPUMA on 10.19.08 at 4:51 pm

….
Here’s an example of a good letter to the editor which was printed in yesterday’s SF Chronicle (as the main letter).
It has 195 words and 3 paragraphs. The word limit for most US papers is usually between 150 and 250 words.

————–
Experience, character, service: It’s McCain
Saturday, October 18, 2008

Editor – Sen. John McCain is clearly more qualified than Sen. Barack Obama to be our next president. McCain has served for many years in the Senate, where he is noted for honesty, fiscal restraint and independence. He doesn’t blindly toe the party line, yet works well with both parties. He doesn’t participate in the notorious practice of earmarking. He has authored substantial pieces of legislation. He is fluent in foreign policy and defense. McCain served in our Navy and was imprisoned and tortured in Vietnam for five years; he is ready to lead in crisis and danger.

Sen. Barack Obama, however, has been a senator for two years. During much of this time, he’s been running for president. Prior to that, he was an Illinois state legislator. He has little experience in politics and scant legislation to his credit.

Would anyone hire an inexperienced young man to coach the 49ers? Would anyone hire a middle manager with two- years tenure to be the CEO of Microsoft? There is no substitute for experience. In McCain, one finds years of experience, character refined by suffering and service and a history of independent integrity. Vote for Sen. John McCain.

David Bunn

Not surprised by this bs video. This has been going on forever. If this were someone doing that to Bozo, the SS and FBI would be at their doorstep due to racism. Hate and violence against women is rampant and accepted in this country and always has been. Hillary and Palin’s presence in the highest level of politics has just exposed it.

What is our world coming too that things like this are supposed to be acceptable. Question…. if the secret service went to someone’s house because they SUPPOSEDLY said “kill him” at a Palin event (referring to BO), then wouldn’t THESE VIDEOS be a secret service response as well?

#92 Not surprised by this bs video. This has been going on forever. If this were someone doing that to Bozo, the SS and FBI would be at their doorstep due to racism. Hate and violence against women is rampant and accepted in this country and always has been. Hillary and Palin’s presence in the highest level of politics has just exposed it.————————————————-

storytellers – I don’t contact the FBI or CIA lightly since if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can wind up in a jam re: reporting something that doesn’t qualify as a crime, etc. Sometimes things done innocently and with good intention can have unexpected consquences. I forwarded the link to the McCain campaign and will let them decide how best to proceed from a law enforcement standpoint.

#110 sistermoon3 on 10.19.08 at 5:12 pm

And I’ve watched him over the past two years, frankly, and I’ve had this conversation with him. I have especially watched over the last six of seven weeks as both of them have really taken a final exam with respect to this economic crisis that we are in and coming out of the conventions. And I must say that I’ve gotten a good measure of both. In the case of Mr. McCain, I found that he was a little unsure as to deal with the economic problems that we were having and almost every day there was a different approach to the problem. And that concerned me, sensing that he didn’t have a complete grasp of the economic problems that we had. And I was also concerned at the selection of Governor Palin. She’s a very distinguished woman, and she’s to be admired; but at the same time, now that we have had a chance to watch her for some seven weeks, I don’t believe she’s ready to be president of the United States, which is the job of the vice president. And so that raised some question in my mind as to the judgment that Senator McCain made.

Has Colin Powell ever met Sarah
I didnt know she wa running for president
but maybe he thinks she is running for president
is it because community organizers
is it she dared
compare her mayoral stance with other mayors
or was it her becoming governor that bothered powell most
or is it
that barak admitted he was not born in manger at the

I used to have a lot of respect for Powell. Even said at one time I would have voted for him as president (guess I’m not really racist) but the more I hear from him now the faster that respect has slipped away. He even refers to Senator McCain as Mr. McCain….. completely improper and disrespectful. If he was going to use a title of respect, he should at least use the correct one.

In my opinion BO taking a stand on this issue, like he took a stand on Wright, Ayers, misogyny during the primary, etc means nothing and why even ask? This is who he and his supporters are and feigning disapproval at this point means nothing. Things like this are all over the internet, pics people wearing cunt t-shirts etc.

Just like he said the attacking of Sarah Palin was wrong, yet it still continues. You see, he say’s this is wrong (therefore, he’s a good guy) yet his supporters continue the abuse.

IMO contacting his campaign is a waste of time. It’s like calling your abuser and asking them to disavow their behavior. The only thing that matters is his defeat, because if he wins, we are in for some difficult times.

Who should be standing up against these type’s of attacks on Palin? All the high profile feminists now supporting Bo. Where are they? Why is Hillary doing more than any other losing candidate in history to help this abuser? Why is she proclaiming her disappointment in US when these video’s and illustrations are all over the place?

#130 jimmythehook on 10.19.08 at 5:25 pm

Congress can postpone the election through legislation however. But it is unlikely that a Democratic congress will do this unless there is enormous pressure applied.

——————————————————————-

Unlike the President, Congress does have explicit constitutional authority over
elections to federal office which is of an express, residual nature concerning
congressional elections,19 and a broad implicit authority recognized by the Supreme
Court to legislate to protect the integrity and proceedings of presidential elections,20
as well as express authority over the date of the selection of presidential electors.21
Congress could, therefore, pass legislation regarding dates, and emergency
postponements and/or rescheduling times for elections to federal offices. The courts
have recognized an expansive authority in the Congress to “provide a complete code”
for federal elections within the States, including presidential elections, and, within
the parameters of the specific dates for the length and terms of federal offices
established within the Constitution, could exercise its legislative discretion with
regard to emergency scheduling and rescheduling.22

110 sistermoon3 : That Colon Powell comment about Palin not being qualified pisses me off. The misogynist left thinks they can $h!t all over any woman who runs for office. Can you imagine anyone saying “Sen Obama is of course very distinguished but he is obviously not qualified to be President and that is after all the purpose of being elected President”. The sexism on display by Democrats and the media is completely over the top. I am thinking I might vote a complete Republican ticket. Clearly we don’t have much power but I might as well excercise all of it I have. If Democrats at any level want my vote or money they can stand up and purge the misogyny.

This endorsement shocked me. The Daily Press in Hampton Roads, VA has been favoring Obama for a while now and have been negative towards McCain. Today, they came out and endorsed McCain. It is actually a well-written article that slams Obama. The part I don’t like is their talk about Palin.

dailypress.com

For president
John McCain is the better choice, whether we look at the past or the future

October 19, 2008

Given the unsettled condition of our country, and our world, Barack Obama’s appeal for many people is understandable: He combines the youthful vigor and confidence of a John F. Kennedy with the soaring oratory of Martin Luther King Jr., promising a better day, a vision of a wonderful future, if only we are willing to let government control and take care of us.

Unfortunately for Obama, and for those who dearly want to believe his promise that the problems of all of us can be settled on the backs of a handful of us, his inspiring words do not survive what one debating coach referred to as “the buggy ride home.” Our old coach was referring to a simpler time in our nation, when Americans listened to candidates debate in person and had time, during the slow trek back home, to turn over the candidates’ positions in their minds, testing their theories and picking apart their arguments.

In today’s instant messaging, celebrity-besotted culture, such opportunities for thoughtful and emotion-free reflection are rare. But when the hopeful message of change is subjected to the glare of factual light, Obama does not emerge as the best candidate to lead the world’s most powerful nation during a time of threats both domestic and abroad, both economic and military.

John McCain is the better choice, and that is why the editorial page of the Daily Press endorses him for the presidency.

Obama: Thin record, big government
Obama’s candidacy is a proud moment for America because of what it says about our ability to put our most grievous racial polarization behind us. But Obama lacks the experience we should demand from the world’s most powerful man, and his fundamental political beliefs are better suited to a more statist European nation such as France than America’s energetic capitalist culture, which demands individual responsibility as the price for maximizing our potential as humans.

To be sure, Obama’s limited track record in the U.S. Senate, and even in the Illinois state Senate, makes it difficult to find much by which to judge him. When it comes to resumés, we look to what applicants have accomplished in their previous jobs as an indicator of what they will want to and be able to accomplish. But in Obama’s case, looking at both these previous jobs as an elected official, the track record of actual legislative accomplishments is too thin to provide a reliable indicator of what he will be inclined, or able, to accomplish. Indeed, there is even, in parts of his background, a whiff of a deliberate effort to avoid leaving behind the record of commitments, in word or deed, that might one day come home to roost, and sway voters. But Obama’s rating as the most liberal member of the Senate — or one of the most liberal, depending on who’s doing the rankings — coupled with his vote tally in the Illinois Senate, and his policy statements, make it clear that this is a man who believes that we need an interventionist government that knows what is best for us, and will dip into our wallets to achieve its ambitious aims, whether they have to do with fixing the nation’s uneven access to health care or rescuing failing corporations.

Obama’s domestic plans will be costly to implement, and he assures us that only the wealthy and businesses will be required to pay. But that is fool’s gold that runs afoul of history and economic common sense: Government programs have a way of creeping down the ladder to affect all of us. One reason residents in Hampton and Newport News are facing the bite of increasing property taxes, for example, is the impact of unfunded mandates that require state and local government to pay for the federal government’s brilliant ideas.

And when the wealthy and businesses are made to pay more than their fair share of taxes, it applies braking power to the economy in ways that can hurt all citizens, working or retired. That’s precisely the worst that could happen as our country teeters on the brink of recession, if it has not already fallen over that cliff. Conversely, lower tax rates under Presidents John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and George Bush had the effect of increasing net government receipts and strengthening our economy — and increasing the share of taxes paid by the wealthy. America succeeds, despite down cycles that affect all nations, thanks not to government but to its citizens’ hard work and economic enterprise.

McCain: Right vision, solid experience
John McCain understands this, just as he understands that America has dangerous enemies who will require more than Obama’s faith in diplomacy to keep at bay. It will require an experienced statesman and military veteran who understands Teddy Roosevelt’s adage to “speak softly and carry a big stick.”

McCain warned several years ago of the dangers of Congress’ decision — supported by Democratic leaders — to give Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae a government checkbook that has helped lead our country to the economic brink. He has an extensive record of working across party lines to fashion compromises on political issues, giving the lie to Democratic attempts to paint him as just a conservative Bush clone. These range from his joint initiative with Sen. Ted Kennedy to fashion a realistic immigration reform bill to his support for the McCain-Feingold bill to limit the influence of money on presidential campaigns.

Obama supported that reform until he realized he could out-raise and out-spend McCain, at which point he cynically turned his back on federal funding.

There are other signs of that inclination to turn his back on stated beliefs when it suits him, probably the most telling cautionary tale about Obama’s character. When the bright light of electoral politics revealed some unappealing associates — including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former Weatherman radical William Ayers, a corrupt Chicago political machine and convicted felon Tony Rezko — Obama’s modus operandi has been to deny, then defend and eventually distance himself from political embarrassments. All of which makes one wonder what Obama truly believes.

John McCain is far from the perfect candidate, as evidenced, most recently, by his selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, at a time when the nation needs the kind of economic expertise a Mitt Romney would have brought to the ticket. But his long and public record, and his forthrightness about his values and plans, leave fewer doubts about where he will take this nation, and whether he’s capable of getting there. He will focus on building the infrastructure of success — freedom, responsibility, judicious regulation, well-placed incentives — instead of hoping to achieve success by extending government’s reach and responsibilities.

John McCain is the better choice to lead us, and the editorial page of the Daily Press urges you to vote for him on Nov. 4.

You know what? Instead of complaining to the useless media about misogyny in the Democrat party I am going to quietly vote a straight Republican ticket and Riverdaughter has a good article up part way down her page saying women have every right to be angry and I am going to E-mail that article to every woman on my address list. It should resonate with at least half of them and lets see if I can turn a few more votes on the misogyny issue.

#149 napapjd on 10.19.08 at 5:35 pm

It’s been alluded to, but based on the comments, people don’t seem to be getting it: This Terry Tate spoof is based on his “Office Linebacker” character featured in a series of Reebok commercials. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsqjM9AEqlU)

So, you see, that’s what Terry Tate does: He pretends to slam wrongdoers to the floor. You know, people who cut the cheese in the elevator, people who fail to make more coffee when the carafe is empty, people who don’t recycle … and apparently people who can’t name a single publication they read.

That video is nothing less than a brutal, animalistic “endorsement” of the battery of women (as sport, no less)! My heart, too, is still pounding!

—————-

Last night, I spent 2 hours on the phone with someone that had no idea that the issues of Acorn, Ayers, Odinga or any other of the Obama relationships were a “fact”.

She thought that they had all been “manufactured” by McCain with no “evidence” to support any of it.

She proceeded to tell me that no one she knows, knows anything about these “relationships”, either – except for “Wright”!

That is how successful the Obama campaign has been at keeping this information limited to those with internet access, only! (except for “Wright”)

Unfortunately, approximately 40% of Voters probably fall into non-internet – mainstream media access only – news coverage (average working Americans, too tired to surf, If they can afford the requirements, at all).

They are virtually in the “uninformed voter” dark – a fact Obama capitalized upon by controlling those Media.

I have believed all along that the only way to effectively inform the “average” voter was through “on-foot-flyer-handouts” – a tactic Obama has fully utilized with his own targeted on-foot flyer-handout, organizing campaigns.

It was hard to believe the conversation last night… she truly believed that it was nothing but McCain “lying”.

She was as shocked and angry about how dupped she had been by the “denial-blame” of the Obama Campaign – as I was on how effective it has been.

(I just sent her the video link – she will be OUTRAGED!)

These ridiculous and disgusting attacks and remarks about Gov. Palin are angering not only women but men as well. A lot of men like her – more than I thought actually. I think people see through Powell’s statements about Palin. It is sexism and mysogny – plain and simple. I had posted about a month ago that it is still taking place, but more covertly. Now, it is coming out overtly because Gov. Palin is very popular and is pulling large crowds to her rallies. The Dems are scared of her impact on the election. They are making a mistake in their attacks against her because women and men are getting angry. We’ve seen this stuff with Hillary. It is going to make people come out and vote against the Democratic ticket.

Finally, I lost some business this weekend over the BO thing–a LONG TIME CLIENT (8 years) is pulling her business. She is a jew, and she was MAD at me for not supporting BO. “Another View: McCain The Stronger Candidate”

Editorial

The Philadelphia Inquirer

October 18, 2008

The Editorial Board’s endorsement of Barack Obama was not unanimous. Dissenters said:

No one is better prepared than John McCain to serve as commander in chief and lead the country as it seeks successful outcomes in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and to work with Pakistan to help kill or capture the perpetrators of 9/11. McCain’s actions as a POW in Vietnam were heroic. In Congress, he has become intimately familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the Pentagon.

The Arizona senator has stood up to generals and presidents from Reagan to Bush on defense issues. He often offers sound alternatives, such as the counterinsurgency strategy that has brought greater security and stability to Iraq.

Just the possibility of McCain in the White House chills the spines of pork-barrel spenders in both parties. And McCain understands that raising taxes to “spread the wealth” is not a form of patriotism, but a burden – to Joe the plumber and other Americans trying to make ends meet.

A President McCain would work across the political aisle. He’s done it before, often angering fellow Republicans. And his character is unassailable. The selfless and courageous way he conducted himself during 51/2 years as a POW says much about the man.

He’s made mistakes, such as the Keating scandal during the savings and loan crisis, but he’s more than atoned for that error with his work on campaign-finance reform. That issue alone shows two other things about McCain: He’ll go against his party if he thinks it’s in the best interests of the country. And his word is good. He promised to stick with public financing of this year’s campaign and did so.

Ask people to describe McCain and the first response often is, “He’s honest.” What you see is what you get. There are no mysterious associations to dance around. No 20-year attendance of a church whose pastor preached anti-American sermons. No serving on an education reform panel with a domestic terrorist. No financial support from a convicted felon. No ties to a group currently under investigation for possible voter-registration fraud.

And McCain didn’t hire as a strategist David Axelrod, who helped lead Mayor John Street’s race-baiting reelection campaign.

America needs an honest president with experience, common sense, sound temperament and good judgment in the Oval Office. Those qualities will make it easy for many to vote for McCain.

This violent video is disgusting and should be condemned.

However, I don’t think it is relaistic to expect anyone in the Obama camp or the media to respond to it since it has nothing to do with their campaign. I think we should focus on Obama and his real surrogates, not every jerk who hates women.

Obama’s own sexism and race baiting are enough to critique.

I’m sure there are some disgusting videos about Obama made by jerks on the Right and McCain is not responsible for those either.

#158 Yes, absolutely. Colin Powell’s statements are just the beginning of what will take place within the next two weeks before the election. They will attack Palin mercilessly because she is the person who will get Reps to go vote for the Rep ticket on election day. I just read about this somewhere else, but forgot to copy the link. BO’s people are also afraid the McCain/Palin ticket are attracting independents. In any case, Palin will have to face the brunt of the Dems attacks from now until election day. Maybe it’s time for McCain to say something about the attacks now.

I just sent this to Dick Cheney, not that I’m a fan of his but maybe I’ll get an answer:
Please investigate whether videos like this threaten the life of Sarah Palin. All it takes is hate and this is exactly what is going on. I am totally appalled at where this election cycle has taken the USA. I do not recognize it anymore. (He’s not really the one we should be asking as he did everything in secret but it’s worth a try)

Furthermore, everyone is waiting with baited breath as to whether Barak Obama is a natural born citizen. The DNC and Obama have refused to release his birth certificate. Kay Hagan, one of the fab four. POTUS?

I was already to vote for Kay Hagan, but not sure now. I guess its my immature side. Seeing her at her own ‘mini rally’ with BO signs everywhere including the podium where she stood. I mentioned it to other dems there. The response I got was “she was hand picked by the DNC, the more known dems stepped aside so she could run” “she is a unknown but the party promised to spend a lot on her if she would run” That just made my stomach turn. One person went on to tell me how she would be running for POTUS after Bo’s eight years are up. Boy did THAT make my head spin. Quite a few agreed with that notion. I said ‘Hillary’, they said “no, Hagan is more lib and wont work across party lines, the DNC likes her”. But Hagan IS a big oil person, she doesnt hide that, surprized she is the choosen one for NC.
To top it all off, she is running against Dole. I dont like Dole BUT she voted against the bail out!
Not sure what to do……………..

#204 wontbackdown on 10.19.08 at 6:14 pm

URGENT! TO ALL MEDIA:

The following video was posted on youtube.

Is the depiction of a Vice-Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, being brutally, violently attacked (as sport) “News” to your organization?

If not, then let me tell you WHO it is a “MAJOR NEWS STORY” to:

The hundreds of thousands of Women, Children, and even men, brutally attacked, beaten and assualted each year in this “civilized” country we live in.

(Many die, and for those that manage to survive, in all cases, their lives are permanently altered)

If tackling a woman so visciously that she is obviously rendered unconscious (all in the name of “getting out the vote”) IS NOT AN OUTRAGE and “NEWSWORTHY”, then your organization clearly endorses “Domestic Violence, Battery of Children and, yes, even Rape!

Physical Violence against any Women, Child or Man IS NOT Political Fair Game or “Sport” – but to the sickest of minds.

I am asking you – I AM BEGGING YOU – in the name of all victims of such brutality, to LOUDLY AND REPEATEDLY DECRY THIS VIDEO ON YOUR PRIME-TIME NEWS SEGMENTS!

Thank You,

A Survivor of Domestic Violence

So…let me get this straight….Colin Powell the person that marched us into the Iraq war on a pack of lies is ENDORSING ‘anti-war’ candidate BHO ????? What a hoot.Honestly does he truly think the American public believes it isn’t because of RACE ?? I, for one, am so sick of the race card being thrown in our faces by the Obama campaign because someone ‘white’ may not vote for him but it is not racist if EVERY AA in the country vote for him…how is that not racist ? Now Joe Biden is telling folks today at a rally that the ‘undecided’ voters are racists.???!!!! Egad…get Obama off the stage and Vote McCain/Palin or else this race stuff will be forced down our collective throats for years. ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Normita from the HRC blog asked me to post her response to Colin Powel’s endorsement- I think she is spot-on

Here are my comments on Colin Powell’s endorsement of Obama:
“I am shocked that Colin Powell will come out with such eloquent words “I think we need a transformational figure. I think we need a president who is a generational change and that’s why I’m supporting Barack Obama…”
Such a hypocritical tone; does he really think that we will ever forget his infamous powerpoint presentation to the U.N. and Congress that turned out to be filled with such misinformation about justifying to go to war?
If this endorsement of Obama is Powell’s way to redeem himself and win our hearts back, sadly, I will keep on lighting my candles with prayers for the souls of those brave soldiers he sent to an unjustified war, for the children who lost their parents, for the wives who lost their loving husbands, for the parents who lost their children, for the siblings who lost part of their existence, for those who lost their best friends, and for America who sacrificed their brave military.
In my area, there is a hill where there are white crosses that represent each and every man and woman who lost their lives in the war that Powell has pushed for. I look at it as I pass and say a prayer for gratitude and love.
Mr. Powell, stay home, reflect and pray for their memories as each and every American must do. We don’t need your voice to remind us of our country’s loss due to your failed judgment; don’t renew our grief with your eloquence, because this time WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
God bless America.
Normita

#229 BrianH on 10.19.08 at 6:33 pm

Here’s a thought about what the MSM MAY be about (just a guess and a hope).

The maximum impact is usually obtained by the Bowling Method: Set ‘Em Up, And Knock ‘Em Down.

The first stage is uncritical, excessive praise. The second stage is shocked discovery of all the bad stuff. There are a few signs that some of the MSM may be ready to move to stage 2 on Oblabla.

OTOH, they may prefer to try to wait till after he is elected. Or even after he is sworn in. But that wouldn’t fly, of course, because the O-machine would vigorously suppress any such effort.

I dunno. Maybe they see that writing on the wall and will cut loose before the vote.

Hey everyone, this is an *EMERGENCY*

I just saw this ad campaign that is trying to run ads against Barack Obama. As a person with media and communications background, I honestly believe that if this ad campaign runs in swing states that Barack Obama will not be the 44th President of the United States. They need donations ASAP to get these ads running. If you can’t donate or even if you can, please pass these ads on to EVERYBODY you know. Let’s make it viral. Check out the commercials at http://WWW.NEVERFINDOUT.ORG. This will work! But we all have got to make sure that these ads make it on air!

The hatred shown by the Obama camp towards women and those of us not voting for him is unbelievably scary. Like Hitler,Castro,Chavez,Marx,Stalin, every other tyrant/dictator in history ,he is showing us his true self by NOT stepping in & putting a stop to it..but he does not want it to stop, his true feelings are on view for all to see just as his lack of compassion and common humanity shows with his coldhearted votes to BAN medical help & comfort to babies from botched abortions.

I don’t see a thing in Obama either. There’s nothing about him in looks or action than I find attractive. He comes across as fake to me, in everything he does, says….everything is designed to appear “cool.” Not a thing seems genuine about him.

Sarah definitely has a “presence.” She comes across as “heavy” to me, in terms of having content and substance to her. There’s definitely full, well-centered whole person in that body.//

Yes! Solid, real, not living in a ‘persona’ shell for political and public consumption. McCain has much of the same quality.

Obama bin Biden, not so much.

I was having a good day til this video of Ms. Palin was unexpectedly brought to my attention by PUMA-PAC.

I asked myself the purpose of having been exposed to this kind of display.

What am I to think?

The more it’s passed around the more it will have its intended effect upon the masses. Judging from the way it made me feel and other pumas who have posted I’d say it could stir the emotions into irrational acts.

Way to go.

Mind if I ignore it all? That might help to nip this kind of hate it in the bud from growing into something more of a catastrophic flashpoint.

RE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN2eZtAPLiY

Dear Media Representative,

The video above is one of a series of similar videos showing this well-known commercial figure carrying out abusive acts upon Governor Palin. I find it beyond suspect that major media outlets have all but ignored these kinds of intimidation tactics on the part of Obama supporters. This video is not isolated incident but reflective of the appalling and vile mass mentality behind Senator Obama’s Internet presence.

Enough is enough. Ignore the groundswell of opposition to the misogyny of Senator Obama’s campaign at your own risk. Women and men across America of both political parties are loosing their patience with the “wink and nod” approach by the media to the sanctioning of criminal conduct under the egis of political discourse. Kindly investigate this issue thoroughly and report it with the same vigor were it Senator Obama the target of abuse rather than Governor Palin.

Thank you

I jsut got done reading the 67 page ‘thesis’ on Obama’s speaking style and possible mass hypnosis. Part of that well documented paper covered many transcripts of his speeches. It is astonishing at how little he really says. All of his words are really just vacant rhetroic done in a very dramatic and hypnotic way. Whether or not his audience is hypnotized or not, he says absolutely nothing of value or substance. It is those times that he talks off the cuff, like with Joe Plumber, that his real agenda comes through.

I have an former internet friend who watched an Obama speech, then went onto a discussion board we were on, and was virtually chanting through her keyboard ‘Yes we Can! Yes We Can! YES WE CAN! When I asked her can do what? She called me a racist! Was that hypnosis? I don’t know, but this woman is highly educated, with a masters degree, and has taught on the university level. Right then, I thought something was badly wrong with her, or that some kind of ’spell’ had been placed upon her.

For people who have become a part of the cult, there is little hope of them waking up before the election. It is the ones who have other reasons for voting for TDN. Some of those people are under the impression that Obama is a democrat. He isn’t. At least not the kind that we always thought WE were. Once we let these people know that, some will move aside and vote differently. That is my hope.

A very good friend of mine, when I told her that I was not voting for THAT ONE, asked me if I have been reading KKK propaganda. She was shocked – as I was to hear such crap.

Obviously, southern pro-THAT ONE are accusing those opposed as being KKK influenced – in the north, you’re just a plain RACIST.

The name-calling is just an attempt at deflection of their own prejudice. IMHO.

There are two sides to a coin.
How you see the video depends on who you are.

We can pretend to live in our comfort zone where nasty things are put out of our minds and we go get another Latte at Starbucks and nibble on the Apple Pie.

or you can see there there is injustice in the Video’s message. If you look past the body slam of Palin, you will see that the message is telling us that Obama’s folks are telling everyone , if YOU don’t tow the line and vote for OBAMA, this can happen to you. And you take the time, while sipping that Latte, to do something about it. 10 minutes of your time to tell others that this must not be condoned. It is not laughing matter. It must not be swept under the rug.

or you can choose to tend to your Rose bushes and breath in the fresh air and say, don’t tell me the bad things that are happening and let us not repeat any of this so that no one else will know. Perhaps this way, it will nip it in the bud.

For some of us, feel that the air is thick with sadness. That things like this should not happen in our civil society. That we have a right to fight for what is right and what is wrong without subtle threats of violence.

I choose to be who I am, while I sip my latte today.
I choose to be uncomfortable in my comfort zone.
At the end of the day, the mirror I look at defines who I am. I am the sum total of everything around me therefore if I want a world that is good and just, I must work and fight for it or at least try.

Just a silly Sunday afternoon rant.

I have sent several letters to the editors but most of them wrote back saying they only want originals. Sending it by cc will only let them know that others are being sent the same letter.

There is a way.

Address the letter to yourself. Then, use or activate the BCC function / entry area. (On Yahoo! Mail, there is a Show BCC ‘button’ just above the address area, e.g. Other email clients and webmail sites have variations, or have a BCC line always available. You can also use your Contacts function sometimes to specify where a group of addresses should be entered. Very handy, you can group all of the addys you want under a single title and just enter that.)

‘BCC’ means “Blind Carbon Copy”, and the output is a single email to each address, showing none of the other addressees. The address in the “To” field may show up, but that’s why you should use that line for your own address.

If we let this video slide, it will only get worse. This is not the same as burning a dummy in effigy, this is a crude act of violence protrayed in real time and in a realistic way, against a woman who is a public figure.

Those who would condone this are lacking somewhere in the ethics department. This situation is getting worse and worse.

I read an article by Pat Buchanen a while back about the shocking increase of black men raping white women in very violent and sometimes deadly ways. He concluded that the Black Liberation Theology preached by Rev. Wright and friends is to blame. He may have something there. This video is just the acting out of that hatred.

Folks, can I ask a sincere question?

Why are PUMA and other voters swearing to answer Barry when polled for whom they’re voting, but in reality wil vote for McCain.

That doesn’t exactlly help the cause, because if we know polls are used as Puhs Polling, and hoping if the polls show a higher turnout for NObama that it may influence people not to bother turning out for McCain, why would you want to help that mission?

Should you just put out the message it’s time to answer clearlly who you will be voting for, even though we know the polls will still be wrong because of oversampling AA’s and Dem’s, etc?

#287 michelle47 on 10.19.08 at 7:55 pm
