Saturday Pumatize!

I don’t know about you, but I stayed up all night last night. Going slowly today. But the day’s not over yet! Great to hear all the stories of planting Freddie’s flyers all over town. If you don’t have flyers from Freddie yet, drop an email to fred08puma@gmail.com with your name and address and you’ll get them in your mailbox in a few days. Until then, you can download and print all sorts of flyers and cards in our lovely ACTION CENTER.

And if you haven’t got your Puma PAC tshirt, bumper stickers or ovals (plus lots of other good stuff!), supplies and time are running out. Order HERE today before they’re all gone. You’ll receive your shipment within ten days, so there is still time before the election to show your PUMA.

We also have Vote Puma lawn and window signs HERE. Check them out, they’re really nifty.

SUGGESTION :

If you are handing flyers and talking to people about ACORN or Puma Pac,,, do bring along a pad of post its… take one from the office..:) It is useful for writing out
ACORN or any websites or blogs… that way people can stick it on their whatevers and not forget about it.

HALF the US it seems has not heard of ACORN or BILL AYERS. I kid you not. It is a nice day, go out and chat with people if you have time… anyone is a potential
game changer as they say.

POWERFUL LINES

BOTTOM-LINE CLINCHERS

HARD-HITTING POINTS

What are the most powerful, hard-hitting anti-BO lines we can use?

– When we try to convince others and talk or write on the different topics of concern (like Ayers, Wright, Odinga [BO’s radical associations], ACORN, the economy, etc)…
What are the lines that can really have an impact and make a difference?

** Some people don’t have time for lots of info. AND… sometimes just one or a few powerful lines can do it!

> Example:
I’ve sent friends in swing states links to good articles… or pasted articles (or excerpts) in some of my long, well-composed emails…
But sometimes all the wordiness doesn’t seem to make that much difference. Maybe it’s “information overload” or something.

YET sometimes I’ve written succinctly, and used a few powerful, hard-hitting lines, and I’ve gotten responses like, “You’re right Landi… what you wrote really made me think twice about voting for Obama!”

There’s sometimes that line or two that is THE CLINCHER!

– WHAT ARE SOME THAT YOU’VE FOUND OR USED?

*** SHARE THE POWERFUL ANTI-BO LINES YOU COME UP WITH OR RUN INTO!

(TIP: Use a subject heading on your post so we can easily find it)

I can’t believe that Bill Ayers has so successfully LAUNDERED himself and is now part of mainstream, intellectual circles. Just like dirty drug money, if you pass it through enough channels, it will come back full circle all nicely clean and pressed. A nicely laundered Ayers, must be laughing at all the fools that are supporting him.

Thanks to Obama who insists he is just an English Professor that happens to live on his street? What part of “arrested” does Obama not understand ?

PEWGATE SCANDAL – Geroge Soros mastermind of brainwashing

This isn’t pretty but the PEWGATE scandal that occurred in 2004-2005 (or around there) is VERY important to get a picture of the “brainwashing,” “media manipulation” and so much more supported and masterminded by George Soros (one of the the major financiers of Obama and the democratic party).

Some good talking points and lines RE: the Ayers issue:
…..

Obama worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers for years.

Their relationship goes much deeper than we were led to believe.

This guy, along with his Weathermen buddies, bombed buildings… and people were killed.

The only difference between Bill Ayers and Timothy McVeigh is the death toll!

The case against Ayers was thrown out of court because of misconduct by investigators!

If Ayers would have been properly trialed, he’d probably still be in jail!

Have we gone nuts in 2008? In the past, we would have never even considered someone with such a shady history as Obama!

How can we put someone (in the White House) to deal with terrorism who hung out with an unrepentant terrorist for so many years?

How can we elect someone to be our Commander In Chief who, for years, was so closely associated with an unrepentant terrorist?

Imagine if McCain had been associated with someone who had bombed abortion clinics… he would have been disqualified!

I am really growing weary of Obama’s and Biden’s feigned indignation on the subject of people questioning their patriotism. Biden just came out mocking those who would dare to raise the issue.

Well, I for one DO question their patriotism. And I believe there is more than ample evidence to support those concerns.

After 9/11, Obama lamented that we should focus more on why that tragedy occurred than on the event itself. Obama’s musings led him to offer his belief that the US’s lack of sensitivity to the needs of terrorists was a driving force behind this heinous act. Biden’s reaction was more mercenary – in response to the attacks on the ATC and the Pentagon, Biden proposed to offer Iran $200 million with no strings attached to show Iran there were no hard feelings.

At this year’s 9/11 memorial, Obama looked decidedly uncomfortable, and while McCain respectfully and reverently placed his rose on the memorial pool at ground zero, Obama tossed his from 3 point range. And while we are still ion the subject of this year’s commemoration of 9/11, Michelle Obama was a no show. Her excuse was that her children were in school, yet she had time the day before to attend campaign events in Ohio and Indiana away from her children and events in the days following the memorial. The same Michelle Obama that has no pride in her Country; the same Michelle Obama who has derided the US as a “mean” nation.

And the same Michelle Obama, who with her husband, Barak, sat through over 20 years of hateful and racist screeds of Jeremiah Wright. The Jeremiah Wright who has damned America on many an occasion; who has accused the US government of creating the AIDS virus to kill the black population in the US; who believes the government distributes drugs in minority neighborhoods; and who characterized 9/11 as righteous retribution for the acts of the US.

I suppose in Obama and Biden’s world it is patriotic to associate with the likes of William Ayers, a despicable and seditious domestic enemy of the US whose major lament in life is not planting more bombs to kill more US citizens. Or to embrace the likes of Louis Farrakhan, whose hatred of whites, Jews and the US has been very public. Convicted felons, black supremacists, Islamic radicals – all de rigueur.

Their form of Patriotism not only ignores the US Constitution – it tramples it with impunity. That most precious right to vote is nothing more than a means to be manipulated and stolen for their ends. A patriotism that has as its mantra, demand all that your country can do for you, not what you can do for your country.

It must be patriotic to work to destroy the US Constitution and replace it with a more fitting “modern day” paradigm based on the Communist Manifesto. A form of patriotism that deeply buries the thoughts, works and principles of our founding fathers and replaces them with the guidance provided by Marx, Mao and Alinsky, with selected input from other infamous socialists like Hitler and Mussolini.

It is safe to say that the Obama/Biden definition of patriotism is the polar opposite of mine. I swore an Oath upon receiving my commission in the US Army to defend the Constitution of the US against all enemies – foreign and domestic. Not to defend ushering in a new world order, or to defend a government that turned the bedrock of the US Constitution into dust and replaced it with a new keystone designed to form the foundation of a new order.

I recognize that my country has its faults, but I do love it just the same. I have not and do not associate with anyone who has advocated the destruction of the US or its government, through any means. I have not sat in a house of worship that preached racial animus or hatred of the United States. I have not been associated with any group that advocated or pursued the theft of Constitutional rights. And I have never worked with or associated with any group bent on the obliteration of our Constitution. To me, people that pursue such courses are NOT patriotic – they are seditious.

So, I suppose Obama and Biden can continue to express indignation, for I will continue to question their patriotism. For to me, the live in a world that is the antithesis of patriotism, and pursue and embrace people who are the polar opposites of patriots. From my vantage point, the only “love” they have for this country is in what they can reap from its bounty, using our freedoms to sew the seeds of a new crop that will choke and cause the Constitution to wither and die.

Let’s all question their patriotism in November by sending Obama and Biden packing.

Did you hear how many years in prison that others had to serve who did what Ayers did? I heard one guy was 25 years to life. Why doesn’t Fox talk about the fact that Ayers should be in prison and he didn’t get off because he was “innocent” but because the prosecutors screwed up their case. He probably would have gotten at least what others got or serving life in maximum security and still be serving!

Just got on for a quick “lurk” before I went out with more of Freddie’s flyers and caught my name . . .that sweet little girls image alone in the dark watching it all . . it is still lingering with me. How sad for her, and us ALL that it had to be like this.

I just back from the Rebublican Headquarters in a VERY Democratic city…I felt very uncomfortable walking in . .it just wasn’t home, but I guess the DNC wouldn’t feel like home anymore either with “O” plastered everywhere. They liked the flyers and will had them out at a rally this evening. They started to want to defend platform . . I told them I didn’t want to go there. We have one thing in common . . defeating “O”. I said the frustration was two-fold for me. I am not only disgusted with the DNC for supporting an unqualified, unvetted candidate, but with Republican party for not doing more to fight Obama and support McCain

HELP WANTED :

It is a nice day indoors as well.

We need to ASK WHY ??
Why was it more important for the media to INVESTIGATE Joe the Plumber than it was to investigate Bill Ayers ??? Fox has done its job. Where are the other news channels – a cursory mention here and there is not in depth investigative reporting.

Why was it necessary for the media to camp outside Joe the Plumbers house and not make a beeline for Bill Ayers’s house? Obama ought to know where he lives – just in case the media doesn’t.

Has the media gone mad ? Does the media not know what is important to us ? WE want to know more about Ayers . We are hungry to know what his connection are to Obama.

We don’t care about Joe the Plumber. He brought up the fact that if you are a small business and you make over $250,000 your taxes will be INCREASED to spread the wealth around. Never mind that you will then have no or little money to continue your business next year..
Joe’s 15 minutes of fame is over.

We need to see the media camp outside a real felon – Bill Ayers…

Dances has got all the media in the Action Center.
http://www.pumapac.org/action_center.html

In one fell swoop, you can copy and paste ALL the media addresses, compose a short email and let them know what is important to us and stop harassing ole Joe.

ONE LAST SALES PITCH FOR TALKING TO FOLKS WITH MCCAIN/PALIN YARD SIGNS OR BUMPER STICKERS
Been going door to door for a couple of weeks now when I see a McCain/Palin yard sign or bumper sticker to encourage people to take action. While these folks are already known entities in terms of their vote on election day, I’ve found that NONE are taking any action beyond that. I talk with them and give them a letter (which I will post), encouraging them to do more than just vote and providing some ideas and links. All of my encounters have been fabulous! People are so receptive and appear very interested! (I live in heavy Obama country, so I think we’re all happy to meet up and find some common ground and not feel like pariahs.)

Of note, nearly 100% have said their yard signs have been stolen and they had to get news ones and place them farther from the street. One woman put barbed wire around her sign!

I’ve met all sort of people, including Dems, former Dems, evangelical Christians, Jews, mixed race couples, families, single people, etc.

I’ve scaled back contacting the media and have transitioned my main action to going door-to-door to try to exponentially expand our base of activists.

LETTER I BRING TO NEIGHBORS WHO SUPPORT MC CAIN
————————————————
Dear Neighbor,

I see you do not support Barack Obama for President. Neither do I! I’m a (former) Democrat who will proudly cast my vote for McCain/Palin on November 4th.

This year, more than ever before, it is not enough to simply vote. There is too much at stake and we stand to have the election stolen by the Obama campaign. They committed voter fraud throughout the Democratic primaries and likely stole the nomination from Senator Clinton as a result. (If you want to read more about this visit http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/.) Now we all stand to have the general election stolen if we do not take action. In addition to casting your vote for McCain/Palin on election day, here are some things you may also want to consider:

Check out PUMApac blog at http://www.PUMApac.org. This is a grassroots organization that emerged along with hundreds of other grassroots organizations following the Democratic convention. (They all fall under the main umbrella organization called Just Say No Deal:
http://www.justsaynodeal.com/index2.html.) It is an organization committed to taking action whenever and wherever necessary to reveal corruption within the Democratic party, to expose Obama, and to get the word out to the media, elected officials and others about why Obama must not be the next President of the United States. It has an extremely active blog with incredible links and an Action Center that contains easy actions, links to media, sample letters to the editor, and numerous other resources.

Visit conservative on line publications such as American Thinker (http://www.americanthinker.com/), Pajamas Media (http://pajamasmedia.com/), or Common Sense Regained (http://www.kyleanneshiver.com/).

But most of all, take action! Spread the word! It won’t be enough just to vote on election day. There are precious few days remaining to make sure we elect John McCain. We must each do our part.

Volunteer for the McCain/Palin campaign (http://www.johnmccain.com). They need everyone’s support right now! If you’ve never been politically active, don’t be shy. Jump in. You’ll see how good it feels to support a campaign, especially by making calls to voters in swing states. You can do this from home. The campaign provides a script. You just sit and follow it on the computer. It’s easy and before you know it, you’ll feel really empowered and great about doing something to make sure McCain wins!

We only have a handful of days before election day and a long road ahead. I hope you will join with me in our common goal.

Someone on Fox last night called what is happening with the campaign is just like a “3rd world country.” How many decades are we being set back?

Good Saturday all,
I found this to be a pretty good synopsis of BO’s lack-luster career in Chicago. It is amazing how little he has done and how badly his work was done. MO doesn’t come off looking great either.

Also, the more I read about Ayers and his wife’s work the more disgusted I am. The ironic thing is that they are free to continue their political agenda exactly because they live in the U.S. (the place they hate most of all). In most any other country they wouldn’t have been given due process and would be in jail (or worse).

Best,

Yes, its sad, because with Hillary in this election would be a slam dunk for the Democrats. Thanks to Pelosi, Kennedy and their gang for this mess we’re in.

The Republican Party has certainly been underperforming, but then again, with 8 years of Bush and Cheney, what can we expect? Actually McCain/Palin has been amazing if we look at it this way!

REPOST :oops: Am still downstairs.
(HONOLULU, HI)(October 17, 2008) Obama nemesis and author Andy Martin filed suit in the First Circuit Court in Honolulu today seeking a court order to open Barack Obama’s secret birth records.

“One of Obama’s most controversial and contentious issues that he has allowed to fester for years is the question of his birth certificate,” says Martin. “Obama has posted at least two versions, maybe more, of a ‘certificate’ on the Internet.

“I want to see a certified copy issued by the State of Hawaii, not one issued by the State of Obama. Why Obama won’t allow direct access to his birth records is beyond me. But the closer we get to discovering the truth about Obama the more we understand why he is terrified of that truth.

“What is Obama hiding? Frankly, after being in Hawaii and conducting our first round of interviews, we think we have a clearer picture of what Obama is concealing, and why. We have more research and interviews to conduct before we can announce our opinions.

“In the meantime, I filed a lawsuit against the State of Hawaii to require the state to open Obama’s birth records. The Governor and Director of the Department of Health are named as defendants.

“The case has been docketed as number 08-1-2147-10 and assigned to Circuit Judge Bert Ayabe.

“We will distribute copies of the lawsuit at a Saturday morning news conference, as well as making them available on a limited basis Friday evening upon written request. We will hold the Saturday morning news conference in front of the courthouse to provide additional information.

“Friday evening I will be available by cell phone from AlaMoanaBeachPark.

“We will issue a news release later Friday with details of Saturday’s news conference.

“The basic question remains: why is Obama trying to hide his life from birth to adulthood from the American people? Interestingly, we think we also know now why he has virtually imprisoned his white grandmother and refuses to allow her to appear in public. Who is the man behind Obama’s mask? I think my book ‘Obama: The Man Behind The Mask’ is aptly titled.

“Next week, we believe we will be in a position to remove Obama’s mask and confront him with the truth about who he is and what he is.

“One TV news network has already tentatively scheduled a conference in New York on our return.”

Survey USA, a prominent national polling firm, shows John McCain leading Senator Barack Obama in the state of Florida. The Survey USA Florida poll was conducted after the final presidential debate on Thursday October 16th.

Tampa Tribune Endorses John McCain for President

“McCain brings a lifetime of useful experience, including his grueling captivity in Vietnam and long Senate service. He believes in federalism, a strong defense and disciplined self-interest. McCain has been willing to cross party lines to work on tough problems. He co-authored a campaign finance law that failed to fulfill its objective, but he did muster the bipartisan support needed to try to control the buying and selling of public office.”

Uncertain Times Require McCain’s Tested Vigilance
Editorial
Tampa Tribune
October 17, 2008

The direction of the nation is at stake in this election. Hard economic times, a disappointing Republican administration and the seductive promises of a master orator are pushing America toward a European-style social democracy.

If you don’t want that to happen, vote for Republican Sen. John McCain. First, it must be acknowledged that Democratic Sen. Barack Obama gets a lot of things right, especially when emphasizing what has gone wrong. Studiously unflappable, he is the most inspirational campaigner in memory. McCain, too, has many ideas for improvement, but his ch anges build on what has worked in the past to make our nation the strongest in the world.

McCain understands that U.S. companies must compete worldwide and shouldn’t have to pay one of the world’s highest corporate tax rates. He knows that federal spending is out of control. He knows that economic growth only comes from hard work and real investment, not through wholesale redistribution of tax dollars as Obama promises.

Obama became a political celebrity by representing the disaffected. He is generating unprecedented enthusiasm among the young and the poor, and their participation is welcome. Yet mainstream voters need to understand that the change these voters want will have historic consequences. Obama’s future America is largely unrestrained by many of the traditional values long held by Middle America.

Obama promises a tax cut for 95 percent of households, even though only 62 percent of households pay any income tax now. Taxes would increase sharply for households making more than $250,000 a year a policy that penalizes success. Profitable small businesses would be hardest hit. Obama even has the audacity to promise a tax break for businesses that create jobs, while simultaneously increasing taxes that would force some businesses to cut payrolls.

Last year, Obama had the most liberal voting record in the Senate. If elected, he would appoint activist judges capable of finding liberal surprises in the Constitution. He would push for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. He would agree to new barriers to trade, which would raise consumer prices.

We urge voters, especially independents and moderate Democrats, to think about where the candidates and their parties are coming from, where they want to go and who the candidates really are.

Obama is a lawyer, a professor, a best-selling author and a winning debater. He is smart and patriotic, but as a leader on the national stage, mostly untested. His short tenur e in the Senate has been unremarkable, other than being consistently partisan.

McCain brings a lifetime of useful experience, including his grueling captivity in Vietnam and long Senate service. He believes in federalism, a strong defense and disciplined self-interest.

McCain has been willing to cross party lines to work on tough problems. He co-authored a campaign finance law that failed to fulfill its objective, but he did muster the bipartisan support needed to try to control the buying and selling of public office.

He is more open-minded on energy reforms than Bush has been. He has an independent nature and passion for public service. He spoke out against torture and strongly criticized Bush’s first defense secretary for resisting the surge of troops McCain knew Iraq needed for peace to have a chance.

McCain’s biggest challenge is that after eight years of the Bush White House, it’s hard to say his party still believes in smaller government. He ha s run an uneven campaign, facing an unfair share of blame for budget deficits, feeble economic growth, costly military interventions, uncontrolled immigration, emergency bailouts of misled corporations, and a diminished world opinion of America.

Yet the record shows blunt-talking McCain would begin to return his party, and the nation, to a more conservative, compassionate and productive path. He is not the candidate preferred in much of Europe and the Middle East, but he would keep us safe and begin to repair America’s image worldwide.

A few states could make the difference in this election. Florida is likely to be one, and Tampa Bay will be a key battleground. The McCain-Obama race is a choice that divides families, friendships and even editorial boards.

Obama’s vision of hope shines like a rainbow, appealing but just out of reach. McCain’s call to freedom and responsibility is less exciting, but you know it works.

The Tribune encourages voters to vo te what they believe, not what they wish were true. The nation needs a stable leader in these unpredictable times.

For president, the Tribune endorses Sen. John McCain.

21 LandiPUMA Can I use this when posting? Thank you

———-

Sure.

The only words I had second thoughts about after I posted the post are “…and people were killed” in the line:
“This guy, along with his Weathermen buddies, bombed buildings… and people were killed.”

Having the words “… and people were killed” in that spot could sound like they were killed in the buildings they bombed, which is uncertain, according to my brief research on this. There is an allegation that a police officer was killed in one of the building (in SF)… though that may not be totally proven (?).
I do know that some of the Weathermen themselves (3) were killed in the making of their bombs… so there was a death toll due to their activities…
And apparently there were people that were almost killed in the buildings they bombed… like a mother and child leaving a bathroom where a bomb exploded right after they left.

So maybe it might be better taking out the words, “…and people were killed” … esp. since the line that follows makes the point:

The only difference between Bill Ayers and Timothy McVeigh is the death toll!

- Does anyone have more info on all this?…

Good afternoon everyone. I had a busy night last night passing out flyers. I also went out this morning to surrounding town and passed the rest out at Starbucks, where I ran into a man that had a mcpalin bumper sticker and he asked for some to give out as well ! I hit walmart hard this morning at 5am. Then the sporting goods store, lots of good places for flyers there! Now I have to finish cleaning my house and I will be back to dig in on the site and send some emails etc.

I so agree!

“Actually McCain/Palin has been amazing if we look at it this way!”

They are doing it all themselves, and working very hard, too. Their fight and independent spirit make them both even more appealing. If it wasn’t McCain/Palin, I don’t know what I would do! I told the Republican headquarters, I was NOW purple, . . . no longer party, it’s about the character of the person.

Interesting read. I’m going to do something this election cycle that I have never done – vote on election day. I want to get every ounce of information before I vote. To those BO supporters I know, I’m only asking them to wait before they make a hasty decision. Wait and learn more about BO and his policies. There’s more to come within the next few weeks before the election.

The article below is about the 1980 Carter-Reagan presidential election.
——————-

“Where the Polls Went Wrong”
Time Magazine
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,924541-2,00.html

The public opinion industry has christened Caddell’s thesis the “big bang” theory of the campaign: 8 million voters moving to Reagan in 48 hours. To a large extent, most public opinion researchers support this theory, although many do so with major qualifications.

Says TIME’S pollster Daniel Yankelovich: “There is every reason to assume that is what happened. When people are conflicted, they procrastinate. And that’s what they did in this election.”

Warren Mitofsky, director in charge of the polling effort run by CBS News and shared by the New York Times, has produced a new opinion survey that seems to substantiate the big bang theory. Re-interviewing 2,651 adults who had been questioned before the election, Mitofsky found that some 13% of the voters changed their minds in the last few days of the campaign and that Reagan got the lion’s share of the switchers. Says Mitofsky: “Caddell’s thesis is consistent with what CBS found.”

The Harris organization, which polled throughout the weekend and on Monday, showed Reagan gaining points right up to Election Day. By Monday night, according to Harris Executive Vice President David Neft, an unpublished Harris survey had Reagan six points ahead of Carter. Others picked up the trend too, and Wirthlin showed a widening gap through the weekend until Monday night when he, like Caddell, pegged the margin at about ten points in Reagan’s favor. The Gallup survey, which eleven days before the election had Carter ahead by three points, found Reagan moving from 42% to 44% to 47% in its final survey, taken on Nov. 1.

We need to ASK WHY ??
Why was it more important for the media to INVESTIGATE Joe the Plumber than it was to investigate <Bill Ayers ??? Fox has done its job. Where are the other news channels – a cursory mention here and there is not in depth investigative reporting.

Why was it necessary for the media to camp outside Joe the Plumbers house and not make a beeline for Bill Ayers’s house? Obama ought to know where he lives – just in case the media doesn’t.

Has the media gone mad ? Does the media not know what is important to us ? WE want to know more about Ayers . We are hungry to know what his connection are to Obama.

——————————

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

Remember also, that the media was asleep at the wheel in the run-up to the Iraq War. They didn’t do their job then either and look where it got us!

They were too busy tripping over each other sucking up to Bush and Cheney so they could get a front row seat on Air Force One and at the White House Press Conferences, they rolled right over and we, the people, got screwed! How many people have now died or being permanently MAIMED because of their cowardice?!!!

Now they’re so busy wiping the slime off their tingling thighs or trying to live out their scandalous schoolgirl fantasies (think Campbell Brown here, throw in Suzanne Malveaux & Co.) it’s happening AGAIN!

We need to hold their stinking feet to the fire! They need to be held accountable!

#82 Henerietta on 10.18.08 at 4:07 pm

When we talk about socialism and capitalism we are discussing the extremes. The only viable system that creates wealth, stability, and opportunity for everyone is Regulated Capitalism.

In regulated capitalism, there are laws to prevent fraud, unfair hiring practices, unfair labor practices, monopolies, and predatory practices.

In socialism, the government owns and controls all things economic. This usually turns into some kind of dictatorship where a few people at the political top get all the good stuff, and everyone else gets just enough to get by on. The only way you can succeed above that meager level is to become politically active in the party.

In unregulated capitalism, eventually a few people end up with all the money and property. There is power in the money. Many of them dabble in philanthrophy and government, where they buy influence. They take strong advantage of their employees, customers, and the tax system.

Regulated capitalism has some socialistic features. It has allowed more people into the money system to earn their way without being taken advantage of by the upper crust. Regulated capitalism is generally associated with FDR. Pure capitalism is associated with Hoover and Reagan. Socailism is generally associated with communists such as Mao, Stalin, and Hitler. We can now associate it with Obama.

One guy was ticked off, he even gave back to me my flyer, then I remember him; I saw him at the Democratic Convention supporting NObama. I didn’t get mad or argue, instead I smile to the person and said, “thank you.” :lol:

Overall the feedback was very good, a couple in their car stopped me from distributing flyers to say, “thank you very much for doing this.” My hooves are hurting from walking for hours, I’ll distribute the remaining 100 flyers tomorrow. ;)

Ayers, immediately after his trial:
Guilty but Free

In December 1981, just months prior to the Brink’s truck robbery, Ayers and Dohrn turned themselves in to the feds. A federal judge, citing what he called “improper surveillance” methods employed against Ayers and Dohrn by the FBI, dropped all charges against them. This decision prompted Ayers to exult that he was “guilty as sin and free as a bird.”

Hi all,
Sorry I’m posting so many articles. I’m catching up today and am visiting other sites/blogs.

The Democratic memo below calls those not as “progressive” as Dem leaders idiots. Oh, we’re the idiots?! At least we can figure out why a lowered capital gains tax is good both for individuals and the country (it brings in more revenue), but BO can’t comprehend why raising it by possibly 13% doesn’t make economic sense.

——————-
“Democracy Alliance memo details Dem plan to ‘educate the idiots’ and target minorities”
Oct. 1, 2008

In a confidential internal memorandum obtained by Face The State (PDF), the Colorado Democracy Alliance outlines a roster of “operatives” who worked for Democratic victory in the 2006 general election. The document outlines specific tasks for various members of the state’s liberal infrastructure, including a campaign to “educate the idiots,” assigned to the state’s AFL-CIO union. Among the operation’s intended targets: “minorities, GED’s, drop-outs.”

Individuals named in the document, marked “CONFIDENTIAL,” “for internal use only,” and “DO NOT DISTRIBUTE,” are high-level elected Democrats including House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, former Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald, as well as Gov. Bill Ritter’s press aide and former campaign chief Evan Dreyer. All are specially marked as “off-the-record or covert.”

http://www.pennypresslv.com/Obama%27s_Use_of_Hidden_Hypnosis_techniques_in_His_Speeches.pdf

Obama’s use of hypnotic language, pacing, etc is what got me to Pumaville in the early months of this. I was dumbfounded by the collective irrational thinking arond me. I think the subject of this paper is right on target. The language is a bit “hype” but the information is right on.

We can use these techniques as well. Most of us are either communicating through statistc and/or rational thinking, but we are dealing with irrational thinking and manipulation of the subconscious minds of millions of people. So what if we come up with language that counters Obama’s hypnotic techniques?

For example:

How about chanting “No He Won’t”

Unregulated capitalism is cruel and causes extreme highs and extreme lows. A good example of unregulated capitalism if the drug trade. The object is to make money by any means possible. Killing, stealing, and other bad things happen when the drug lords are crossed.

Regulated capitalism is practiced by every capitalistic society. This is the system we have in the United States. Regulations include, bank and mortgage lending regulations, stock market regulations, trade unions being legal, sales and income taxes, import taxes, social security bennefits, and more.

The question arises as to how much regulation is too much and how much regulation is not enough. But every capitalistic society that is successful uses regulated captialism, not pure capitalism.

#104 Hi Osaka. Well, I got together with a friend yesterday in part so we could discuss the local candidates/propositions. We had one of those voting guides with us. We didn’t like most of the candidates (neither the Dems or Reps). We need better people on both sides. BO and the Dems made a long-term strategic mistake. They woke the sleeping tiger (majority of voters who oftentimes are too busy to pay close attention to electors). My friend and I usually just voted straight ticket Democrats. Now we are going to find out what each of the candidates believes in before we vote for them.

Nah…read the paper. Politicians are a dime a dozen. When one manages to come off like a messiah, time to look a little deeper. I think most of the people voting for Obama are not doing so for rational reasons. They couldn’t spell out the particulars of an issue if their life depended on it.

I’m suggesting we fight fire with the same fire. At this point our best thinking has us close to defeating him, but the job isn’t done yet.

I have refused to participate in personalize arguments here, but kindly don’t be dismissive of my comments. Like you, I spend a lot of time on our mission.

I think it’s very difficult to get an effective boycott organized. By the time it starts having an impact it may be too late.

Letters, phonecalls, faxes, flyers, etc., to media execs, advertisers, anchors, reporters, newspapers, blogs, conversations w/friends and strangers can have a more immediate and perhaps more effective impact.

Sometimes the threat is more effective and scarier than the actual deed.

#122 osaka puma on 10.18.08 at 4:37 pm

I know, I know, I know. I HAVE to believe in the American people and especially Pumas, et al as I can’t believe the tragedy of the wrong person becoming POTUS.

There is still hope for 2 or 3 absolutely election altering results.

1.The truth about nobo’s citizenship is revealed.
2. Rezko rolls over (if he has anything hard to negotiate with) on nobo.
3. ACORN records reveal how far up the chain of command goes and who has been directly involved with their operations.

By the way, don’t forget to remind people to check that they ARE registered to vote and only under their name AND to check their credit card bills for any dem. charges. Things are getting so bad out there.

I’m looking for suggestions.

On teh Action Center directory page, in the second column, there’s a listing of old prowls from June.
I’d like to use the space/linkage for other things…
I was thinking about linking to the blogs of Murphy’s that just take out breath away… but I don’t want to be the judge of that; I’ve had a coupel of other ideas too, but decided to throw it out to you.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

#130 KarenWI on 10.18.08 at 4:44 pm

I STILL think the biggest thing we have going for us against BO right now is ACORN. Ayers and Rezko has been mentioned (like Wright) over and over. People, though, do NOT like to have fraud in their voting and they generally do not like somebody “rigging” elections. Somehow we need to prove BO is not only mildly involved in ACORN, but in up to his neck in is (and I have no doubt but that he is)….and then all we’d have to do is make sure everyone KNOWS about that, and KNOWS how ACORN’s stealing the election- and I think that would turn a lot of honest people away from BO pretty fast…..

good afternoon pumas

mr pimpmpoverty is going down , I think…
1.-redistridution of wealth: that the is most pure stalinist & maoist style SCARY .wealth acquired thru work(= human energy) is sacred and living with commodities that will make life easier and enjoyable is part of the american dream, the rest is democracy, justice, constitutional rights etc
2.-the plumber issue: demostrated that people to him are pawns in his game for power ,.what has he done for people,??? are the places that somehow he”touched” any better , ?what has he done for the slums of chicago , other than to “rouse to revolt”,to exsperate and to anger, instead of using the fed money to mitigate poverty and implementation of small business, so they woul be their own lords, psychological assistance for the whole family by capacitated personel(sometimes the psychologists are in worst state than the patients)education(not indoctrination), etc. etc.
3. ACORN: beside electoral fraud, is that in itself their whole movement is based on fraud,on villainy, and vandalism of democracy

To all who have helped whether you are mentioned or not.. Thank you for all your hard work with the flyers.

Below are some recent emails from people and their comments – there are a lot more . I hope you find it inspiring as I did . All personal information have been deleted.
****
I’ve been running bus trips from Manhattan to Scranton PA for Democrats for McCain – I was wondering if you could send my some flyers? I have people committed to go for the next 3 weekends both Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks for making the flyers – we need all the help we can get in Scranton.
If you could send me 1,500 or so I think that would be good – I guess we could hand out 500 in a weekend. If we need more I could let you know next week if you still have any left. Thanks for you passion – this is exhausting – organzing bus trips and working 2 jobs is really too much. It will be worth it if we can beat Obama – I really think the Acorn stuff will be linked back to the caucus fraud.
******
Got the flyers yesterday. They are great. I’ve already started distributing some. I will be sending some to my brother-in-law in South Jersey. He is working on turning people away from BO as well.
*****
Flyers rec’vd today and already placed in mail to my X-mas card people. Thanks to the PUMA family for all your input & hopefully help and votes. Barry must be stopped!!!!

****
thank you for the flyers and the cute little purse
I have been distributing them in Philadelphia where the fight for our cause is much greater than in del co.
*****
I’m doing some trifoldsof the flyer right now .They’re sitting on the table in front of me right now. I have them folded and the sticker on holding them shut… just need to label them, slap on a stamp, and get the tape on (my post office recommended on tiny piece of scotch tape on the lower corner below the stamp or it might jam in the machines).
*****
I am a — year old who is voting for McCain against Obama. Please send flyers as I am bombarded with Obama signs in my neighborhood. I am black and my family is supporting NOBAMA so I need something to distract me from hearing their NOBAMA praise.
**********
I went on a road trip to Virginia Beach Sunday morning to see Sen. McCain & Gov.Palin there on Monday at the Convention Center. I took a 6 1/2 hr drive. We drove from Atlantic City, NJ just to see the candidates!!

I made sure to take some flyers with me~ ~ and when I found the Straight Talk Express bus, I left one for John McCain on the windshield! I hope maybe he got to see it!!! And I hope this gives you a smile Freddiebrown!!! I am sure if he did see the poster you made, HE LOVED IT!!

Thank you for your amazing contribution! I’d love 100 more flyers. I’m hesitant to take more since i live in california. I did mail some flyers from the last batch to random addresses in battleground states via internet white pages.

#128 Osaka, BO is offering his followers something. I think he offers the promise of a more perfect world. Young people tend to want to believe that if we chucked all the trappings of our current society we could recreate a more perfect, better one. As an older person I know perfection in unachievable. I’d like to think that I haven’t become more conservative with age, but that I have found balance (and maybe a little wisdom). We should of course try to create a better world. But after all, not everything about American society is bad. We need to make changes, but we have things much better here than in other places.

I don’t know how this generation of young people became so angry and disillusioned. I think it was all that talk from environmentalists saying the world was about to end. I’m an environmentalist, and I realize we are in trouble, but we can still make changes to ease the effects of global warming. I’m not going to vote for a candidate who embraces European socialism (which works badly) because he seems like the person who would help the environment. Has BO discussed environmental issues much? I think that if I spoke to a young BO supporter and pointed out all the facts about BO’s corrupt background, his lack of experience, and lack of understanding of economics/international relations, they would get angry and would tell me that none of that mattered because we need to help the environment NOW and they would say I was a Republican for even brining up economic concerns. I don’t know how to snap them out of this trance when Al Gore is telling them it is time for civil disobedience as far as the environment is concerned.

Looks like McCain hammering Bozo on his socialism tax plan is working. Every time McCain scores a good one, the Bozo campaign plays the race card.

McCain said today that Bozo’s 95% tax “cut” is impossible since 40% of Americans have no tax liability. Therefore, Bozo plans to tax those that work more and send a check to people who don’t pay taxes. That’s a government handout and classified as “welfare.”

Per Fox, the Bozo campaign says that McCain is tinging on the verge of racism by his welfare comments. Pathetic, Bozo, just pathetic.

Talking Points:

1) I don’t need a president who has never had a job, who doesn’t know what is like to live paycheck to paycheck, and who thinks America is not something to be proud of.

2) Senator Obama has 144 days of experience in Washington, his track record as a junior senator in Chicago is basically 90% voting present, and he did not even know that Russia is NOT part of the United Nations. This man is not ready to be a Senator, much less POTUS.

3) Senator Obama has not been able to prove he is even a US citizen, much less that he has earned the right to run for POTUS. Thanks, but no thanks.

4) and finally, VOTE FOR OBAMA, you must be FUCKING KIDDING ME….

LOVE TO ALL PUMAS :)

#171 Dances — Any flier on “this is what our country will look like under socialism”

Do we have something that explains what socialism will look like in this country, such as the selective service issue? Required country service if you borrow fed. funds for school (actually, wonder if that will apply to any funding you get from the government?) , the radio tv stations we listen to will probably be taken off air or censored, books could be censored, kids will have to start in some type of mini-military type of program at a certain age… etc. I am just guessing this as what people have been posting and what little I know about socialism.

Speaking of racists…How’s this for new twist on the race cards?

Racists for Obama. Racists against Obama. Here a racist, there a racist…..

They just can’t get the racist thing straight. One minute everyone’s a racist (or so they say); the next America isn’t a racist country.

One minute Murtha is saying all of western PA(?) is a racist area; the next minute Joe Biden is saying America isn’t a racist nation, (just the people not voting for his running mate, I guess).

They are so screwed up; they just can’t get their heads on straight and come up with ONE coherent thought!

PEWGATE SCANDAL – Geroge Soros mastermind of brainwashing

This isn’t pretty but the PEWGATE scandal that occurred in 2004-2005 (or around there) is VERY important to get a picture of the “brainwashing,” “media manipulation” and so much more supported and masterminded by George Soros (one of the the major financiers of Obama and the democratic party).

diva2..
i have given much thought to the things you bring up..
i think what they mean by “socialism” would be our living a lifestyle where our dreams and expectations are substantially lowered so that we are indoctrinated to accept bare subsistence living..in exchange for our not having a revolution..
i dont think it will work because each demographic group will demand a greater share of the crumb pie..and that will explode into a yugoslavia style low intensity warfare ..its already happening in some parts of the country..like in los angeles for example

#185 100,000 at MO rally for BO- I had actually heard 130,000 on Fox. They said about 100,000 inside and the rest outside, or something like that. In fact, Fox said this was the LARGEST U.S. turnout for BO yet. My question is this… was there a free rock concert first??? McCain rallys don’t have those, but many of BO’s do. The rally in GB I went to for McCain only had a local school band playing. I think I saw somewhere that BO was starting to cut the national anthem and the pledge of allegiance from one (or more) of their rallys too? If so, that would be very telling….

I think I know the only thing wrong with Joe Biden–alcohol. There was a video of him on campaign a bit tipsy. Not much attention was given it and it has likely been scrubbed by now but, it is the only thing I can think of that would make sense. I have watched Joe for years and had a lot of respect for the man. He has had extraordinary hardship in the untimely death of his wife and raised his children himself. It is a shame that a once great man has come to this. I don’t think the Biden of even 10 years ago would have come anywhere near the Obama camp. Please just pray for the man and have compassion for the fall of a great public servant. His son is in Iraq and that can’t be helping matters much.

– What are the most powerful, hard-hitting anti-BO lines we can use?

For me it is telling the person that Obama is not a citizen of USA. That he is Indonesian citizen. People are shocked and do not like that. There is no arguing with him not being an American citizen.

for many people all the Ayers etc is regular political noise. But not being American is something else.

I am watching TV and they are doing a show on 911 with all the footage of the towers coming down. Emotional. And to think that Michelle Obama refused to go to a remembrance ceremony for the dead. Screw Michelle. She is NOT American in her heart. And make her First Lady. What an insult to all that George Washington fought for at Valley Forge.

Obama went for public financing because he knew hundreds of millions of dollars would come in from foreign sources. The Arab oil money is buying America. Obama is the puppet.

My rally cry is NO MORE ABUSE in all ways in my life. I will not take abuse. I stand up and demand that you treat me with dignity and respect. Now I can do that because I treat everyone else with dignity and respect. And if I do that for other people then damn it they better do it back for me or I just cut them out of my life. Unfortunately I can not cut a president out of my life so easy. Also I feel an obligation to teach other women how to do it. I feel an obligation to encourage all women to do the same. STAND UP AND DEMAND DIGNITY AND RESPECT. SCREAM OUT NO MORE ABUSE. at everyone and anyone in your life. you will be glad you did. I would not make a good politician because I am a bit direct and truthful in my statements. politicians learn to tell us what they think we want to hear. to me that is all lies. truth is truth no matter what the consequences.

“The Left’s Big Blunder: The disastrously counter-productive strategy of Obama’s supporters”
October 15, 2008

-Conformity and the Asch Experiments-
Implicit in the Left’s continuous attempts to exaggerate Obama’s perceived support is the belief that “a crowd draws a crowd” and that undecided voters will be drawn to the Obama camp if they think “everyone else” is supporting him. But is that an accurate assessment? Is there any evidence that it’s true?

Well, actually, yes. There is evidence. Or should I use scare quotes: “evidence.” I believe that a series of experiments carried out in the 1950s by social psychologist Solomon Asch were in fact the (now long-forgotten) inspiration for and justification for the current strategy, especially the strategy of online opinion-poll-stuffing after debates and other major news events.

Starting in 1951, Asch, a professor at Swarthmore College, ran a series of unusual experiments to generate a quantitative measurement of the subjective term “conformity.” The experiments, which many now consider somewhat unethical and a bit sadistic, went like this:

A volunteer was recruited to participate in a vision test. He was brought to a room with seven other volunteers who were also to take the same test, in a group. Little did the volunteer know, however, that his fellow “volunteers” were all confederates of the experimenter, and the test was not a vision test but a psychological torture session designed to elicit conformist behavior. The experimenter would then unveil a pair of displays, one showing a single black line, and the other showing three black lines of varying lengths. The volunteer is told to simply state which of the three lines most closely matches the length of the single line.

Sounds simple, right? In every instance, the correct answer was quite self-evident, as only one of the lines was even close to the correct length. The volunteer, who was always placed in the second-to-last position, was only allowed to state his answer after he had heard most of the other faux-volunteers give their answers. For the first two rounds, these confederates were instructed to give the obviously correct answer; in each instance, the test subject would then also give the correct answer. But starting on the third round, the confederates, as instructed by Asch, intentionally gave a consistently wrong answer; the goal of the experiment was to see if the volunteer would “break” and also begin to chime in with the wrong answer as well. Most volunteers would resist for a few rounds, but eventually the majority would cave in at least part of the time and give the wrong answers in complete defiance of their own perceptions. Overall, the test subjects gave the wrong answers 36.8% of the time — an astonishing result.

What would you do if you had the ability to conduct this “experiment” on a vast scale? And if the results of the experiment were not just of academic interest, but affected the real world? What would you do if you had a monopoly on the media, and could affect each individual’s perception of how the general public felt? You could take the Asch experiment nationwide. You could deceive every single individual voter into thinking he was all alone in his opinions. And consequently, due to social pressures to conform, they’d change their allegiances. You could use it to win elections.

That’s the position in which the Left — the Obama campaign, its supporters, and the liberal media — imagine themselves to be. They’re trying to use the principle of behaviorial conformity as a weapon in the campaign. But there is a terrible flaw in their plan. The Asch experiment doesn’t work unless the test subject is unaware that he is being duped. And I’m telling the subject right now: you’re being duped.

I KNEW the attendees were receiving something. I didn’t realize that tonight was the big concert night. Of course, that is why people are there.

That is correct, ALOT of people don’t decide until they are in the voting booth. I have heard the best time to put out election ads to get independents and undecided is the day before or day of voting.

This keeps sitting in the back of my mind…IF students are in the middle of midterms, alot of them are not going to be bothered to vote. Studies show that they are less reliable. Who knows?

The “Boss” ain’t boss to me. He’s an overated composer of message songs with no knack for melody and a voice that can’t sing. At least it’s not a classic singing voice.

If anyone can lay claim to being “The Boss” for that genre of music it should be Bob Dylan. He can’t sing either, but is far more prolific a songwriter and melody maker.

Just sayin’.

On Biden having a drinking problem. I can have compassion for him. But in this case we are talking about a person as VP or President with his finger on the nuclear button.

NO ACTIVE ALCOHOLICS AS PRESIDENT OR VP.

sorry just not the way to go. Joe Biden first needs to get on the wagon and get cleaned up. It will take about 5 years for his head to clean up. 10 years for clear enough to be vp or pres.

sorry but that is the way it is.

A major problem is that people think that if the drunk stops drinking he will be ok by noon time. that is total bull shit. it takes years and years to clear up the mind. There is good physical reasons for that. While drinking the synaps between the cells change. it takes years to change and then it takes years to unchange back to a normal brain. That is physical reality.

We have to believe most Americans are smart or savvy enough to see through all of that! He tried it during the primaries and McCain needs to say “endorsements” are just that but they do not mean anything else!!

Endorsements don’t mean squat as we all know all the endorsements in the world, doesn’t mean you win, as we all know Hillary actually won the election. It is a strategy — make everyone THINK that the whole world is going to vote for nobo, therefore, voters will either say “what the heck, he already has it, so might as well just vote for him,” or stay home as they think the same but “no need to vote as he already has it in the bag.” It is all about making people BELIEVE something by putting it out there alot, whether it is true or not.

maxgrader #273,
I can’t see in good conscience how Powell could endorse someone who was “against” the war Powell et al. led us into, says our troops are “just bombing innocent civilians in Afghanistan”, didn’t believe the surge worked (as every good military man knows it did), wants us to pull out of Iraq with our tail between our legs – nullifying the lives given to fight this war? How could he? We’ll know for sure tomorrow if Powell is a true American patriot or a sellout to the messiah!

I had read that article the other day and it was fascinating and explained a lot…

But let me add to your segment of the article — that the article also went on to make the point that Obama has two problems with the Asche Conformity example. The first is the fact that the experiment was performed at a time in history when conformity to society was the norm. But now — non-conformity is the goal of most people (although I would argue that ignorance is something Obama counts on to perpetuate that need for conformity).

The second problem is that the article also noted that dissent causes an exponential problem for the experiment to be successful on a large scale. So even though Obama has control over a majority of the media to perpetuate his illusion… there are still many dissenting voices being heard. Us for example, Internet bloggers, FOX news, and Rush Limbaugh to name others. I would also argue Joe the Plumber is a wonderful voice of dissent that resonates with many. The more people are exposed to these dissenters… the more likely they are to come to their own conclusions and make use of critical thinking.

So to sum up…. let’s keep up the great work.

#292 NeverMore on 10.18.08 at 7:19 pm

NeverMore,

Colin Powell has my respect until the moment he decides more government is the answer to America’s problems and that other things like the economy and “change” to socialism are more important than protecting our country and allowing it to conduct business safely and freely while at the same time pursuing our own individual definition of happiness.

Protecting us from foreign invaders is the government’s main and almost sole responsibity according to the Constitution (but since when has that mattered lately). What I expect to respect most from a Colin Powell endorsement is that our country comes first and that less government is best.

But I’ll keep an open mind that Colin has it in him to do the right thing.

I would also believe Condoleeza Rice is the incredible woman she is but am having a hard time right now. Since I remembered she admitted to seeing nobo’s security file and has not spoken out at all helping to answer the questions whether or not nobo was born here and if he is truly eligible for POTUS. API is now posted the following: We would like to inform all our readers that update on Michelle Obama story will be released tomorrow.

We have understood the importance that the American people put into electing the right candidate for the Presidency.

It is important that the tapes be released and all can judge for themselves what Mrs Obama meant and why it has come at the near-end of electioneering. The fact that the mainstream American media has been reluctant to reveal what they know about Obama is very unfortunate.

The Michelle Obama story to be updated tomorrow the 19th of October

Posted by africanpress on October 18, 2008

We would like to inform all our readers that update on Michelle Obama story will be released tomorrow.

The American mainstream media seems to be interested in excitement and we all know that the only excitement at present is for some to say they witnessed history of some kind – the election of a black man to govern the only powerful nation in the world.

All the readers should exercise patience. We in API promise that you will get to know the truth when the recordings are finally released.

It’s been about a week, so they did have time to doctor up the tape. I thought the email they got from (www.americasright.com.) gave them good advice. Give out the phone number to the press that michelle was reported to use. The more proof they can provide the better it will be. Of course this media may not do their job in researching it. But we can hold out hope that FOX (Hannity orf Greta) will do their job.

REPORTING FROM NEVADA:

BillieJo and I have been very busy pumas here in Nevada today. We spent over two hours this morning putting Freddie’s awesome flyers all over the cars in the high rise employee parking lots of the casinos here. Also, put other flyers about voter fraud and ACORN on the walls and elevators in the parking garage. We met a fellow who said he was originally going to vote for BO, but they kept calling him to help with their campaign. He said he didn’t have any spare time and asked to be taken off their list, but they kept calling. He said it got so bad he finally called the Better Business Bureau to get them to stop calling him. He said the whole thing creeped him out, and he no longer will vote for BO-yes!
We then headed over to a Latino neighborhood and left flyers in Spanish at the local Supermacado and other local businesses. We had our HRC buttons on and were greeted with smiles. Of course the BO campaign had people at the front door-no McCain people in sight. It seemed to me that people responded more positively to us, and seemed kind of indifferent to the BO people–at times we were in sketchy ,mixed neighborhood and had to rely on our stealth puma skills. In any case, I am glad we were there. BillieJo was so efficient she even put flyers on our car. Next, we went to a big mall, and blanketed cars in the parking lot. We have also left some of our big, easy to read colorful flyers on telephone polls in well traveled areas. It is 5:30 pm and we calculate we have dispersed around 2,000 flyers. We are taking a break now, and may get out later to cover up some of BO’s posters we found with some puma Democrat stickers-hee,hee.
Tomorrow morning we will drop and post the rest of our flyers before we head back home. That’s it for now.
Pumas on the prowl.

Studies validate the effectiveness of negative TV ads and of campaigning AGAINST a candidate (as in against BO!).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–> From “Lifting The Lid On The Science Of Persuasion” by D. Jones/A. Motluk (in “New Scientist”) about a study:
The study suggests that when we convince others of the ‘negatives’ and unsuitability of a candidate, we make a stronger, more lasting impact than when we try to convince them of the ‘positives’ of the opponent.
Quote from article:
These findings fit with a broad body of research suggesting that negative information frequently has a more powerful influence than positive messages. So if you want to sway someone when they choose between two options, a good tactic is to be negative about the option you don’t want them to pick.
So we can be very effective in swaying people away from BO by presenting our case against BO, without having to promote any candidate!
(Though urging others to vote Mac/Palin and keeping our focus on the positive outcome we want is also helpful!)
–> Visualize lots of RED in the electorate map… See the critical swing states going red! – Visualize the Mac/Palin win; the cheers, the confetti, etc. –
6 Notyoursweetie That sure makes sense and might help explain why the nomination was taken from hillary and nothing we’ve done since seems to matter. I have wondered if this isn’t some grandiose social experiment and maybe that’s why BO always appears so confident of ‘winning’. But the potential backlash is frightening.
Those who will distribute flyers tomorrow, I asked the mailman today after giving her our flyer if its legal to put flyers in mailboxes, she said NO; but you can put it on the door of the person.
When I was distributing flyers today I use the parking lot, if there’s a car, trust me there’s a driver. :lol:
Of course some people are not happy with the flyers and calling it a lie, I told an old woman today, what she saw on the flyers are based on facts.
Don’t waste your time arguing with the person, say have a good day and walk away.
I will try, I dont know if you know any of those types, as stupid as it sounds. They are very hush hush. Some of my friends (the wives) do not know what they do. Most are scared $hitless. Not about Bo, about attacks. Some haved moved outside of the 13mile range from DC. ONE knew about the attacks (9/11) before it happened and told me. By that, I mean they knew something was coming. One of them (a dem) told me to vote Bush (quietly about it) not Gore. That they needed Cheney in. I do wonder what is going on. And now with all the Bo stuff. But I will try and see if I get anywhere.
I haven’t had time to read the comments, so this may already have been discussed.
I have great respect for Colin Powell. He was tricked by Bush/Cheney to give that report to the U.N. He believed it was true.
Tomorrow I will find out if he feels it is “Country First”.
If he endorses John McCain, then I know it is “Country
First” for him.
If he endorses nobama, then I will know his color comes before his Country. That will be a great disappointment
to me.
Has it been confirmed that Glenn Beck is going to Fox?
***** URGENT: HELP NEEDED IN KEY STATES *****
Rosa at RSVP153@aol.com sent the following urgent message to New Yorkers and other McCain-Palin supporters across the nation. As a Pennsylvanian, I hope people around the nation will respond in similar fashion.
The NYC Area Democrats For McCain had a very successful canvassing effort in Scranton, Pennsylvania over this past weekend. And people of color were well-represented in the crew.
Our conclusion is that there are many Democrats in Scranton who could be persuaded to vote for John McCain.
Barack Obama must be defeated now, rather than later. And, we will not be able to defeat Obama by just hoping that others will do the job, by hanging out mainly in the blogosphere talking to other NObama folks, by just giving up… Here are three recommended actions that you should do over the next three weeks to ensure that Obama is defeated now, rather than later.
*** ACTIONS YOU MUST DO TO DEFEAT OBAMA ***
1. Canvass in Scranton, PA (door-to-door, or where people congregate) … we need 50 people on each weekend day to get FREE transportation from the McCain campaign
2. Phone-banking to swing states (from your own home…call fellow Democrats)…see instructions below
3. Financial support (please, please help us to cover costs of flyers) … click here for PayPal
Hey – Some of you PUMA’s mentioned about HRC calling all hotel staff and saying thanks to them at a campaign stop proved yet again that a key character in a leader is to recognize the common man to elevate their spirits and make them feel important. This will certainly help them improve and get them to be a better person / citizen.
Also noted that BO and party hardly tipped hotel staff. Shows the miserly and mean minded mentality that foretells policy and governance in the messiah.
and a message to Joe the Plumber – We are with you because we are ONE OF YOU! What a lovely pair would it be – Hockey MOM and Joe the Plumber as our symbol of REAL CHANGE. No Wonder DC, MSM and DEMS are pissed.
#413 jenniforhillary on 10.18.08 at 9:33 pm
TALKING POINTS:
1) Sen. Obama wants to share your wealth instead of figuring out how to stimulate the economy, create new jobs and BETTER paying jobs. Sorry, but I want him to keep his hands out of MY pockets.
2) Michelle Obama said that she has NEVER been proud of the USA. Well, I am proud of this country EVERY DAY!! The president of the USA should love this country, her people, and should have pride for what we represent.
3) Sen. Obama chose Joe Biden to represent his theme of Change. Joe Biden has been in Washington over 30 years, and garnered under 9000 votes when he ran for president. He was also instrumental in the last credit card protection law allowing credit cards to charge astronomical interest rates. If this is his idea of change, I want no part of it.
4) Sen. Obama’s friends appear to all be racists, sexist, terrorists, or convicted felons. My mother always told me don’t lie down with dogs unless you want fleas, so until he can show me someone who has known him for more than 5 years who is NOT one a crook, a creep, or a criminal NO THANKS.
5) His mentor and pastor said that 911 was America’s fault AND that we are to blame for terrorism against this country. Sen. Obama attended this church for TWENTY YEARS and claimed that this man was like a father to him. Do we really want a man who thinks that 911 was OUR FAULT in charge of protecting our families from terrorism?
and finally, my favorite is always, VOTE FOR OBAMA, are you FUCKING KIDDING ME????
LOVE TO ALL PUMAS!
Can someone here help me revise my letter to the editor? I need some input! My writings are very simple and I would like to know if this is enough. Thanks.
Dear Editor,
I am writing to you as a person who came from a communist country. My family and I left Vietnam in 1975. I know what it is like not to have any kind of freedoms. Everything was controlled by the government. Now that we are here in the United States, I can’t believe that communism has followed us here. Anyone who speaks out against Obama is threatened with lawsuits and jail in Missouri. There is Jessica Huges who was met by the secret service because she didn’t want to vote for Obama. There is also Joe the plumber who only asked Obama a question. Now the media and Obama have trashed his life. All of our rights are being violated. Everyone should focus on Obama’s answer. He said he wants to “spread the wealth”. Is this the kind of change we are waiting for? Remember, the next time your child gets a C instead of an A on their test; the average is only ‘fair” for the whole class. It’s not about working hard anymore. It’s about being “fair”. This is what socialism and communism looks like.
The tide is turning. I have been getting emails from the PAC every day. Never heard of them until I got the first email from them last Wednesday.
*********************************************
An urgent message from our Newsmax Sponsor,
The Republican National Trust PAC
Dear Fellow Citizen:
Barack Obama can be defeated.
Obama is targeting several key battleground states — including Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, New Hampshire, Indiana, Minnesota and Missouri.
Each of these states are Ground Zero in the 2008 battle for the White House.
Reportedly, Obama is spending in these states more than 3 to 1 in campaign ad dollars to smear and destroy Senator McCain.
But Obama has a big problem. Despite his massive cash barrage and evidence of massive vote fraud in these key states — polls show Obama and McCain are so close it’s neck and neck.
That’s why we at the National Republican Trust PAC are targeting these states as well — but we will be exposing Barack Obama for the radical liberal he is.
Polls show McCain can win EVERY swing state!
We believe that when voters in these key states find out that Obama backs giving illegal aliens driver’s licenses, they will turn on him.
The 9/11 hijackers began their plot with driver’s licenses. Obama is such a radical he still wants every illegal to get a driver’s license.
It gets worse.
He’s called for illegals to get Social Security benefits. He even wants them to get free government health care.
Who pays? You do!
Help us expose Barack Obama.
Fox News analyst Dick Morris says: “The National Republican Trust is a very effective organization that can make a huge difference on election day.”
Yes, we can and we can do it in your state.
We will shortly roll out our TV ads exposing Obama in all of these key states.
But we desperately need funds to get out message out.
You can help us make that difference.
Thank you.
Yours for America,
Scott Wheeler
Executive Director
P.S. The election is approaching fast. We want to buy TV ads in your state.
Also, this email came today from the McCain-Palin campaign. They are beginning to smile more as well.
********************************************
Dear Supporter,
Since launching our campaign’s online phone bank, McCain-Palin supporters have made hundreds of thousands of calls to voters across the country in support of our ticket.
Your hard work is paying off. The latest polls show we are closing the gap with Senator Obama and as we head into the final two weeks of the campaign, every voter you contact on behalf of the campaign will bring us one step closer to victory on Election Day.
Last week, I emailed you about our weekly “Virtual Super Saturdays” and I want to remind you again to take a few moments out of your day today to make 20 calls for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Volunteers have always been the backbone of our campaign’s efforts and in the final days of the race, we need you to pitch in and reach out to voters through our online phone bank.
Our online phone bank is easy to use; simply follow this link and choose the state where you would like to make calls. We’ll provide the names, phone numbers and call scripts. Once you’ve completed your call, record the results and submit them.
It takes 20 minutes to make 20 calls, and by completing these calls, you’ll be helping our campaign make a personal connection with voters across the country.
So, I encourage you to find 20 minutes today to take part in our “Virtual Super Saturday.”
And remember to mark your calendar for next Saturday, October 25th. We’re holding our final national event day,”McCain Nation Super Saturday” with a special conference call with John McCain. Senator McCain will give us an exclusive update from the campaign trail and take caller questions. If you haven’t yet signed up to host or attend a “McCain Nation Super Saturday” event, please visit http://www.JohnMcCain.com/McCainNation to get started.
Thanks for your time and support and good luck with your calls today.
Sincerely,
Christian Ferry
Deputy Campaign Manager
I live in northern Virginia, and I’m so tired of BO’s commercials on television. His face shows up on my tv screen almost every 10 minutes and it’s so annoying.
I either change the channel or push the mute button. I imagine it will only get worse as we get closer to election day.
I think all this advertising could backfire. Even those who are for BO will get tired of seeing his commercials over and over.
BO’s campaign can’t seem to close the deal with Americans – even with all this advertising. I don’t care how many ads BO runs here in Virginia – I’m not voting for BO!!
Headlines below from recent news stories demonstrate that BO is throwing money at this campaign big time.
1 – Major League Baseball agrees to delay the start of a World Series Game 6 by about 15 minutes to allow Fox to carry the half-hour program, which will also be shown on CBS and NBC stations
2 – Obama Campaign Buys Ads in 18 Video Games
3 – Obama’s campaign will have spent $188 million on advertising, more than twice McCain’s $91 million. This media blitz is possible, of course, because Obama renounced public campaign money, which would have limited his entire campaign to spending $84 million in total.
4- According to a recent University of Wisconsin Advertising Project analysis, Obama has aired at least 50,000 more commercials than McCain.
5-Barack Obama spent $3.3 million in TV advertising on Monday. At that rate the Democrat will spend more than $90 million on ads through Election Day _ more than all the money Republican rival John McCain has to spend on his entire fall campaign
No, I don’t believe this “light” association stuff. I think they at least knew ABOUT each other BEFORE Chicago, when BO was in New York at Columbia with radical associations there-and that’s why Ayers picked him for the Annenberg job. Their wives worked together too!I’m not an expert, but books have been written about him that clearly incriminate BO in BAD associations.
Great job handing out flyers everyone. I guess I am the worlds slowest flyer distributor. But I found this interesting. The flyers I left at the laundry mat last weekend are still there right on top of the magazines (my dryer is broken AGAIN and my kid came home from college for the weekend with 10 loads of laundry). That means someone is going through and sorting them out of the newspapers rather than throwing them out. They also have not been removed from the diner! I live in liberal Seattle so that is pretty encouraging!
#439 osaka puma–I agree and I have been at my county precinct most of the day calling and hitting the streets passing out yard sign, pins, and bumper stickers. Today, was great here in my part of TX weather wise and people were out shopping, etc. Me and two other Republican Pumas spent 2 hours at a Bass Pro Shop and a intersection near by with bags of McCain-Palin pins and bumper stickers. We got to know the newspaper vendor whose space we shared real well. He was going for Obama but now is undecided. We asked him why. It comes down to the trust factor. As the man said “He talks good, but I still don’t know who he is or what he has done. All I know is that he want to help me.” We had a field day with that.
Something VERY interesting has surfaced in my investigating and verifying the Obama and Bill Ayers connection is that it appears that Bill Ayers’ father Thomas G. Ayers’ Chicago establishment “mob family” and associates have hand his and their hands intertwind with Obama since 1985 when he first took the community organizer job in Chicago and maybe even before that until June 2007. It appears that everthing that Obama touched was also touch by Thomas G. Ayers or his associates also……this is even more disturbing that just the Bill Ayers connection….it means he was and has always been deeply ingrained in “Old Chicago Politics” and nurtured throughout by Aryes, Daley, and “friend”. Thomas Ayers was a very affluent and powerful political, financial, and philanthropic figure in Chicago and throughout the country…..and specifically during the dirtiest years of Chicago politics.
Yeah I don’t get the deal with Hillary. She was either bought off or threatened by the BOites. I think threatening her would probably be more like the BOites.
Clearly the BO forces have no idea how to communicate with thinking women. Trying to get us to bond over fashion with MO and her makeover is offensive. I don’t know anyone who watches View but retired men, all the boomer women are at work when it is on or else volunteering. I never did watch Oprah although I admire her charity work. Vogue is a gay men’s mag and they tell me they throw it out unread every month at my hair salon while Star and National Enquirer are destroyed from being read repeatedly so MOs photo spread went unnoticed by women. I guess the BOites think they can send Hillary to talk to us, and she has turned into a great speaker but I switch the channel as soon as I see her because I don’t want to be aggravated by hearing or watching her speak party in tongues.
#477 Libby on 10.18.08 at 10:18 pm
Blog of Mike Klonsky, who is still running small schools. He seems to be backing Obama, if you can figure it out because he is so subtle. NOT
So it seems like Obama knows at least two weather underground radicals from old days and helped usher their influence on school children into the present.
It was disingenuous of Obama to claim in the last debate that Ayers had “taken up” with a radical group. Ayers thought it up, created it along with Terry Robbins, and Ayers was the bomb planner.
Ayers learned how to build bombs long before he joined SDS. The Vietnam war was his excuse to do what he wanted to do anyway.
All of this info is available in Ayer’s own book, Fugitive Days. Try borrowing it from the library rather than buying it so Ayers doesn’t get another
dime from it.
In Obama’s book he explains how he tried to radicalize himself, and his grandparents agreed to leave him alone while he lived with them, and explored his black background. Which meant dressing and acting like a thug while doing drugs and learning from a communist.
I just wish a handful of people would show up who knew Obama and Ayers in the early days. Problem is they are probably all in the tank for Obama, or like his grandmother and Bill Ayers, shut up until Nov. 5th.
This is a great quote from Abe Lincoln off Riverdaughter’s site in relation to the Dem party as it is today:
Abraham Lincoln said about the Union could apply to the Democratic party today, “”‘A house divided against itself cannot stand.’(Mark 3:25) I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved — I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.”
On Nov 4th, the Dem party will either become the Obot party or we shall begin to take it back.
Obama campaign begins systematic destruction of Joe the Plumber
By Sher Zieve
Barack Hussein Obama and his fawning gang did not like a recent question posed to the secular messiah at a recent campaign rally. They didn’t like it one bit! So, in what is becoming known as the “Obama method” said questioner is now being vilified by Obama, his campaign and his loyal adherent media. Apparently buoyed and energized by a US Supreme Court decision that effectively allows Democrats and their voter fraud unit ACORN to engage in all of the election fraud they desire, Democrats seem to have decided that they now have carte blanche to seek and destroy any and all of their enemies (perceived or otherwise) who would dare even ask a question that inadvertently causes their secular savior to answer — in front of the public — with the truth. This, under any and all circumstances, is NOT permitted by Obama and his campaign. Note: I’m beginning to see the movie “V for Vendetta” in a bit of a different light, these days.
As background, and in case you have been away from a television, computer and radio for the last week, here’s what occurred. At an Ohio Obamamania rally in an Ohio neighborhood on Monday 13 October, a resident Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (recently dubbed “Joe the plumber”) asked The One: “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” That was the one question he asked of the Democrats’ anointed one. Obama answered — for perhaps the first time in a public forum-with the truth about his Communist intent and said: “It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around [AKA Marxist wealth redistribution], it’s good for everybody.”
Believing their candidate was caught off-guard and somehow ‘forced’ by Wurzelbacher to tell the truth, Joe is now — ala Sarah Palin — being skewered, drawn and quartered by the press. Like a pack of mad dogs — or idiotic children — members of the elite liberal media have gleefully searched into his background to find any dirt they could and have blasted Joe with “his name’s not even Joe!”, “he doesn’t have a license and he’s not even a plumber,” “he owes back taxes!” Note: His middle name is Joe, he IS a plumber but, works under his boss’ license (a business he is hoping to buy) and there are many in America who still owe taxes. Perhaps this is why he asked the question in the first place? In order to further destroy his credibility for having the audacity — or unmitigated gall — to ask Obama the question, the mainstream media is even checking into Wurzelbacher’s divorce! Even Obama and his running mate Biden are now maligning the man.
For all of us who can see this entity for what he is and those who still have their eyes closed due to the dazzling visage of their fake worldly redeemer, we can only pray that eyes and ears have been opened. Obama is now shouting at us as to what his presidency will be. We already know it will be built on Marxist “principles.” But, with this recent example of Joe the Plumber clearly in our minds, we have now been told in the clearest of all possible terms — there are no more doubts — that it will, indeed, be implemented in the ways of Joseph Stalin. No dissension will be tolerated or allowed.
Is the end to liberty and freedom truly what you want? Or, are you still willing to fight for your country — if not your lives?
We were proud to call her our ‘first lady’, and as far as I know , Mo is the only one to ‘try’ to imitate her. She needs to get over it. I also believe Laura Bush is a wonderful first lady, she quietly supports her husband and she also does it with dignity and grace.IMO
As you may, or may not, have noticed I tend to be a wee bit sensitive when it comes to attacks on women… any woman.
When it comes to women who have surpassed men in almost every area, yet still suffer vile attacks based solely on their gender, I pretty much go momentarily bezerk.
I’m too old to stand for it after witnessing decades of sexism and misogyny, knowing the damge it’s caused, and the loss of how I envision the world might have been had women had an equal of greater share in its development.
HRC took bullets that were meant for all women. I can’t bring myself to criticize her.
With friends like Obama’s (Farrakhan, Quaddafi, Ayers, Rezko, Wright just to name a few) the question comes to mind “why”…. “WHY does BO want to be leader of a country who all his friends despise? Does he want to destroy it from the top down? ..or what does he have in mind for us?” and “WHY do people want as their leader someone who has picked his friends and associates people who hate America?” If it were just one or two it could be easier to explain… but how many of his long-time friends/associates do NOT hate America compared to how many DO??? It truly amazes me how so many can say they want such a man as their leader…. entrusting their safety well-being into his, and his friends/associates, hands……..
#230 Ladyhawke-
I just filled out my voting ballot. I voted straight Republican and it felt…strangely…good!
I think it must be that the cumulative effect of the past several months of Dem extreme sexism and outright misogyny, lately combined with the race baiting divisionism and finally beating up on poor Joe the Plumber this week.
I’ll tell ya, it actually felt GOOD to vote straight Republican.
Oh yeah, the fact that all my Dumbocrats voted for the Wall Street Bailout. That helped too. Helped a lot to push me right over the edge.
Dang! I feel like I just fought back!
I LOVE this voting thing!
You might have been born in a trailer park (if that’s true) but it doesn’t make you white trash.
Osaka
I’ve already posted but will repeat.
Wrote two articles this week.
Donated to Berg
Signed up to moniter polls through Heidi Li’s sight
Distrubuted Freddie’s flyers.
Oh and btw….I run a business, I’m finishing professional certificate, I’m a single parent, and a volunteer at my child’s school. Does that answer you question?
OK so peace. Just step back a little bit. I admire your passion and your wit, but I think you are shooting yourself (and perhaps the rest of us) in the foot.
Thanks to Freddie, we have tens of thousand of flyers out there. People will log on here looking for some sanity and reassurance they are not crazy because that little voice says, “No to Obama”.
Let’s give them a save place to land…shall we???
Careful about making assumptions about what people are or are not doing to defeat BO.
Yes – this is a blog where we can list the things we are doing daily to support McCain-Palin.
However it is also a place where we can vent our frustration to others who will understand our fatigue.
Some days I write about what I’m personally doing here in Virginia and other days (like #442) I share my frustration. Some days I share links I found on the Internet and some days I ask questions where I need clarification for understanding issues. Sometimes I just read posts from others and write comments or responses to acknowledge others contributions to the cause.
I think that all of these actions are acceptable for this site. And in fact the variety helps to make this blog more interesting and engaging.
We all know from your frequent posts how passionate you are regarding BO’s defeat, but throwing out such strong language and jumping to conclusions about others only detracts from the good stuff you share.
I try to save my negative reactions for the obots – and to not go after those who are engaged in the same goal that I am pursuing.
I could defend myself and share all that I’ve done to counter what you wrote. But I’m not going to do that today as we don’t need personal arguments on this blog. Only asking you to ease up a little before you assume you know what each person who writes here is thinking or doing.
FYI – I am a black woman who supported Hillary and who has voted democrat all my life. But after Hillary was not chosen as the candidate I became determined to rally against the DNC & Dean, Pelosi, Reid & Brazile. After much soul searching I decided I would vote for
McCain-Palin.
But NO ONE in my family or my african american network understands why I am choosing not to support BO as the first black president. This blog is one of several resources I have found where I can state my opinion and not be viewed as crazy for supporting McCain-Palin.
Nancy Pelosi’s husband runs Bectel–major defense contractor. She had an incentive for voting for war and continuing it. Does anyone know anything about it?
Osaka PUMA #495, I wasn’t really correcting. I was being sarcastic, because in any other election a candidate with Obama’s connections would have been discarded without serious consideration. I am dismayed that we are having to fight to defeat this piece of elephant dung.
KarenWI #498, with friends like Obama’s (Farrakhan, Quaddafi, Ayers, Rezko, Wright just to name a few), it should surprise no one that he is willing to sit down for discussions or evening tea with leaders who sponsor terrorism. These are his normal associates.
be carefull saying that he is not an american citizen,because i think he is, what he is not is a natural born
//
Welll, here’s the challenge to him:
“By Indonesian law, you had to have been adopted by your Indonesian step-father to stay there and go to school. That made you an Indonesian citizen, and required you to drop that status and swear an official Oath of Allegiance by 1982 to regain your American citizenship (natualized, of course, not-native born any more). You traveled to Pakistan in 1981 on that Indonesian passport, so you hadn’t done it by then.
So, WHEN and WHERE did you swear the Oath and become American again?
DO YOU actually have a valid American passport right now? What documentation did you provide to get it, if so?”
I promise you, storytellers, he can’t answer ANY of those questions. He certainly has refused to even try, so far.
#516 BrianH on 10.18.08 at 11:52 pm
Just to explain something in my #268 post, at the time Indonesia and the US had exclusive citizenship dealings with each other: no dual citizenships. Pick one, drop the other.
#517 BrianH on 10.18.08 at 11:54 pm
Err, #514 refers to #513, not #268. :oops:
IMDB response to crap on the Jon Voight board:
Didn’t want to miss saying hello to this batch of Obots! Hi!
I’m told that you guys only get paid $8.00 an hour and have a quota. I thought that you were paid better than that. And what is the quota? How many message boards do you have to hit in an hour to meet that quota?
If the Obots have to sign up a certain number of fraud voter registrations on the ground doing in person confrontations, then you all must have to register double that number of proven message board hits to get paid. So if you hit 60 messages an hour does that get you up to your quota? I’m guessing yes since you seem to be all over the place.
I’ll bet some of you are able to get in way more than 60 messages an hour since you do not actually read posts but just say things like racist, aged, middle aged, women etc.
So how many key words are you given to throw back at people anyway? I know racist must be number one and I’m guessing Bush is number two, followed by “old”.
