Ok, I do have to share this anecdote and then I MUST sleep. In 1986 I went to Michigan for law and graduate school. University of Michigan Law was dominated by Michiganders and midwesterners. I cannot tell you how many times in the first months I was there that a person from a small town in Michigan would say to me: You know, you really remind me of Woody Allen.
Now, other than being from the east coast and from a jewish cultural background – oh and being funny as hell and a genius – I am NOT AT ALL like Woody Allen. He’s much older, male, and a true genius.
But all this is a matter of context.
Murphy’s point is, as I understand it, that the context of this election has made it easier for us to to cross some cultural divides while also accepting that we do have our own cultural backgrounds. Hey…that’s America.

The Obama campaign announced Friday that it is asking Attorney General Michael Mukasey to turn over any investigations of voter fraud or voter suppression to Special Prosecutor Nora Dannehy.
Dannehy is also the special prosecutor recently appointed to investigate the U.S. attorney firing scandal.
So, they are wanting to have the same Democrat prosecutor that Pelosi assigned to investigate the Gonzales affair.

I don’t think Powell will endorse O. I think John McCain does have some very smart advisors working for him. By leaking that he will endorse O, it gets all sorts of media attention. So when he comes out and endorses McCain, it will be before a larger audience and will shock people. This will guarantee several days of 24 hour news cycling. Just a theory, and a hope!
Had an interesting experience today – Went to have my nails done – (one of my few luxuries!!) the shop I go to is owned by a 35 year old Vietnamese woman. She graduated from college in Vietnam. She asked me who I was voting for and I told her McCain. So, naturally the next question wasd – who are you voting for – She said she wasn’t sure yet. So I asked her some questions and would you know that she was completely unaware of:
1. Rev. Wright
2. Acorn
3. She thought that the $250,000 tax on small businesses meant the tax on her net income and not her gross income, so she did not think that she would be effected!!!
4. Auto license for illegal immigrants ( she was really upset to hear this – she felt that she had to wait and came here legally, worked for what she got – and was dead set against that idea)
I explained a few things
to her and she couldn’t believe it!!! However, she did say that her father-in-law, also Vietnamese, who had been there during the war, would only vote for McCain because as he said “Obama has done nothing for this country, and McCain has”!
In addition, she said that the Vietnamese community that she lived in were all voting for McCain.
What I find interesting here is – how many other people in this country are complete unaware of these issues – including amazingly – the Reverend Wright association!

“I want to see a certified copy issued by the State of Hawaii, not one issued by the State of Obama. Why Obama won’t allow direct access to his birth records is beyond me. But the closer we get to discovering the truth about Obama the more we understand why he is terrified of that truth.
“What is Obama hiding? Frankly, after being in Hawaii and conducting our first round of interviews, we think we have a clearer picture of what Obama is concealing, and why. We have more research and interviews to conduct before we can announce our opinions.
“In the meantime, I filed a lawsuit against the State of Hawaii to require the state to open Obama’s birth records. The Governor and Director of the Department of Health are named as defendants.
“The case has been docketed as number 08-1-2147-10 and assigned to Circuit Judge Bert Ayabe.
“We will distribute copies of the lawsuit at a Saturday morning news conference, as well as making them available on a limited basis Friday evening upon written request. We will hold the Saturday morning news conference in front of the courthouse to provide additional information.
“Friday evening I will be available by cell phone from AlaMoanaBeachPark.
“We will issue a news release later Friday with details of Saturday’s news conference.
“The basic question remains: why is Obama trying to hide his life from birth to adulthood from the American people? Interestingly, we think we also know now why he has virtually imprisoned his white grandmother and refuses to allow her to appear in public. Who is the man behind Obama’s mask? I think my book ‘Obama: The Man Behind The Mask’ is aptly titled.

The FBI has started investigation into an ORGANIZED effort into ACORN’s fraud issue.
If found to be linked, it is now a conspiracy case.
As an x Federal Agent (retired), I can tell you my opinion based on my experience.
If this is truly a conspiracy case, then there would have to be a central data location to manage the operation. And where would that location be?
In an office that has such low registrations that there would not be any attention brought to it.
So, what if the Boston office was where that info was kept?
The office said that they had only did about 200 registrations. Kinda low compared to the OTHER major city ACORN offices.
And there are no worries in Mass for Obama winning.
When they were warned that the FBI was looking for an organized effort, then it would make sense to dump those computers, fast.
I may be off base, but I have seen many cases that had this much rope a dope to throw off the Feds.

People keep telling stories about Obots burning stuff down and getting crazy with McCain supporters. Where are the photos? I took a little camera along when we did visibility in Denver and filmed everyone who talked to me. When they started getting in my face or getting over the top with some other Puma, I reminded them they were on camera. I think it’s a good protection against something really bad happening. But I would love to see someone drive by a few of those burned up McCain signs and upload some photos–(wordpress has unlimited space for photos).
You know, if someone burned something on a black person’s front yard, it would be on national television. Why is everyone so blasè about this? Do we just expect black people and Obama supporters to act all crazy and confrontational and barbaric?

Our natural state is that consciousness… and in that state the point on “now” resides. Where one has a full experience of nanoseconds (wrong term) and a minute is like a lifetime.
It’s like crack… once you experience it… if you “sin” enough, it’s harder to get back, but you spend a lifetime yearning for it.

Majority of asian voters are informed, they read a lot which is normal for us. We don’t pay attention to spinmeisters, we’re skeptical of any politicians who promises too much then flip flops. To us, a promise is a word of honor, once a politician breaks it; that politician will not get our vote. We may nod as if agreeing but in the voting booth, we do exactly what we feel is right. That 30% of Asians still undecided is actually a farce, they’ve already made a decision to vote for, they just keep quiet about it. The most common answer you’ll receive from any asian who they’ll vote for is, ” I don’t know.”

I was at her shop last week, her customer was a NObama supporter, all the girl can talk about was NObama. Yes, I guess I’ve noticed that. I tried to hitchhike to the Mexican Olympics, from Manhattan, when I was younger (heh), and made it as far as New Orleans. But within a day I was smitten with NO and stayed for 6 weeks. I bought an old car while there for $25 dollars (!) and made it as far as Atlanta before it broke down. Abandoned it on the side of a road and stayed in a hotel while my friends were collecting money to fly me back home.
There was a radio in my room… took a quarter for 15 minutes of music. “9/10s of the Mississippi River is Filled with the Tears I Shed Over You” was the song I remember. Have hated country ever since! lol

Murphy – perhaps not so. I was at the Post Office with my boxes of flyers and this very tiny young cute Asian girl has her ballot in her hand. I smiled and let her go ahead of me since i was going to be really long at the counter. So i asked , if she was voting Repub or Dem… she hesitated since i was a stranger but said she was voting Republican. i told her what was in all my boxes and she lit up smiled widely.
