I’ll dig with it. Saturday, poetry.

Between my finger and my thumb
The squat pen rests; as snug as a gun.
Under my window a clean rasping sound
When the spade sinks into gravelly ground:
My father, digging. I look down
Till his straining rump among the flowerbeds
Bends low, comes up twenty years away
Stooping in rhythm through potato drills
Where he was digging.
The coarse boot nestled on the lug, the shaft
Against the inside knee was levered firmly.
He rooted out tall tops, buried the bright edge deep
To scatter new potatoes that we picked
Loving their cool hardness in our hands.
By God, the old man could handle a spade,
Just like his old man.
My grandfather could cut more turf in a day
Than any other man on Toner’s bog.
Once I carried him milk in a bottle
Corked sloppily with paper. He straightened up
To drink it, then fell to right away
Nicking and slicing neatly, heaving sods
Over his shoulder, digging down and down
For the good turf. Digging.
The cold smell of potato mold, the squelch and slap
Of soggy peat, the curt cuts of an edge
Through living roots awaken in my head.
But I’ve no spade to follow men like them.
Between my finger and my thumb
The squat pen rests.
I’ll dig with it.

We should send an urgent prowl to Letterman warning him to exercise some professionalism in his treatment of Sarah Palin tomorrow.
We cannot afford to have Hollywood swing the votes.
I already did mine as Terry Do asked.
I meant Saturday Night Life – not Letterman.
Saturday Night LIFE?
Dear Freddie. Try it one more time. They say the third time is the charm.
I don’t watch these shows much …as if you can’t tell.
However, Lou Dobbs – who I do like and watch, is saying how interesting that there is a swamp of reporters camped outside Joe the plumbers home but not a single one at Bill Ayers home. Perhaps Obama can tell them where Ayers lives.
This is a must read. It explains the cult like behavior by the Obama people. It is actually very chilling.

#5 itbj2 – 67 pages of hypnosis talk is a bit difficult to read…. I have read other rumours aboutObama using hpypnosis during his speeches.
As for the poem, I’m sure his father could find him a spade.
/sorry/evil/
freddiebrown, if you don’t read it you will not understand how it works and what effect it has on people. It is a very scary science that has been employed by the Obama campaign with incredible results.

Interesting article, itbj2. I believe he’s been doing that.
Weird thing…..Quite a few months ago, sometime in late fall/early winter of last year, at a bookstore cafe I often go to a bunch of guys appeared once a week at the same time; some new each other beforehand, others were new to the group. They met to discuss hypnosis techniques. They were all hypnotists, but they were a motley crew, a weirdly dissimilar group and a kind of outcast type of people. Some had foreign accents (sounded Russian), one, an American, was a college grad student – he seemed to be the leader of the group, another was a youngish guy, maybe in his late 20’s/early 30’s, ex-military and looked the part, the others were kind of nerdy, various ages. They just seemed kind of like a bunch of misfits. They didn’t seem to belong to any “established” society of hypnotists, or even a group of academics; they were just peculiar. I’d never seen anything like it. They discussed hypnotic techniques, gave examples of things they did and little speels they used to “treat” the patients/people they saw. Like I said it was just weird. Who were these guys? What were they doing? What was the purpose of their getting together? Why in a bookstore cafe? Just weird.
I remember having a strange feeling in my gut. Something just didn’t seem “right” about the group. The fact that it was election time also just seemed peculiar in a very peculiar, strange way – hard to pinpoint without that internal voice saying, “This is crazy.” But maybe not so crazy?
#9 BrooklyNY,
This really explains all the crazy behavior we have been getting out of the people who support him. I have a friend who is Lawyer and when he started taking to me about him I could not believe the words that were coming out of his mouth. He was talking about having gone to his rallies and that he touched his hand twice. I thought that he was insane for even mentioning something like that to me. I have been trying to convince him that Obama is no good. I gave him a 100 reasons not to vote for him. I can’t get through to him. We are both Democrats. He actually suggested that I don’t vote if I was not going to vote for Obama. This article explains why he is part of the group that is easily influenced. It is very sad.
completely off topic – but for those bloggers out there, “drinkingwithbob” vids need to go viral! Here is a sampling, but make sure you turn your sound DOWN!

I haven’t read the whole article yet….but from the bit I’ve seen skimming through, it really makes a lot of sense and explains the near hysterical, irrational, hyper-attraction so many people have to him.
I’m thinking of the behavior of some of the female anchors/reporters on CNN/MSNBC and how they get so shrill and defensive if anyone criticizes him or intimates that he might not be leading, or might not win, etc. It’s crazy, irrational and bizarre. Reminds me sometimes of how my college pysch lab rat would act when he didn’t get his food pellet when he expected it during our lab experiments in “rat lab.” The poor rats would go nuts – jump on the lever they were supposed to press to get a food pellet, chomp on the lever, run wildly around in their Skinner Box (as in BF Skinner, early behaviorist psychologist), climb the walls of the cage. They’d even urinate on the lever. They went nuts.
Funny, I was just thinking of Campbell Brown of CNN as I wrote that description of the rats – that hysterical, shrill voice she gets when she’s part of a discussion after a debate or rally when McCain or Sarah Palin has done particularly well…..
I’ve found listening to Obama I have to shut him out and off because I just feel something is not right about his speech patterns; I feel like he’s trying to lull me into a daze with that choppy, weird cadence he’s got to his voice, all those catchy little phrases, peppered with hostility and contempt…..It makes me feel like I need to protect myself from something when he’s talking. Hard to explain, mostly gut feelings. But seems there may be some science behind it, judging by the article you’ve posted. It is a very scary thought!
I should have named myself early bird puma.

Logistics Monster thanks for posting the video.
Hi Freddie.
Boy that video will get ya going in the morning.
Good Night all – I will try to read those 67 pages of the cult of Obama – Nothing like a scary read..
Perhaps we can learn something to knock some sense into the Obots..
I am getting ready to go cheer for my amazing little runner this morning ! (cross country) And , while I have my mom hat on , I will continue to brag that she has broken all of the long distance records in the county , and is just the most kick ass kid ! Her twin is equally as kick ass , and would also do really well in x-country , but wouldn’t run around the block if she were on fire !
For Bystanders:
They came first for the women supporting Clinton,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a woman.
Then they came for the Clintons,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Clinton.
Then they came for the plumbers,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a plumber.
Then they came for the independents,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t an independent.
Then they came for me,
and by that time no one was left to speak up.
You can write in your own second-last verse; it’s easy!

We need a little beauty and sentimentality to help us through these increasingly ugly times.

I just read about mrpimp use of hypnotical techniques, back in the primaries I stressed the fact that this was going on, of course at the time I should have researched and demostrated , to me it is so obvious, and the first to fall into hypnosis are the media,in factt they fhave fallen into narcolepsy, now i think and i hope the effect is fading away
HILLARY must have had in her team mrpim spies, because I soom as I started saying rather specific fact as to who I though who this guy was, I do not if I was the first one, but if not one of the first to statr ref. him as the TROY horse, I was banned from the site

It looks like people are working on some other states. Please if you can assist please help. We must get lawsuits going in more states. These lawsuits are against the SOS to force the SOS to vett obama or remove him from the ballot. This should be a much easier lawsuit then the BERG one. Here is a posting from someone helping other states. I am sure he will help you and a lawyer get it going in your state. I want to hear that PUMA helped to get at least one state going. If we PUMA are as good as we talk about then we can help assist in getting at least one state started on this legal path. I really believe this is the best way to go. knocking him off the ballot will make sure he does not win. this is sort of poetic justice. it is the way he won all his elections. lets show him we can do the same against him.

Virginia,
Send me an email and I will forward it to our Man in FL, asking him to assist you.
I an nearly done redrafting the WA petition just for CA. The research required for this does take about a day per state. This is why I am asking for those in other states with knowledge, time, or money to do their part. We need the ten biggest states in chaos by mid-week.
Do what you can for your state, file, and fax the petition with case header to every news station in your region. Please, flood blogs and other sites. Only you can prevent OBAMA!
Is it possible that Obama was adopted?
If ANYONE CAN HELP ON THE LEGAL ISSUES AGAINST YOUR LOCAL SOS. HERE IS THE EMAIL TO CONTACT.

COME ON PUMA. LETS GET ONE STATE STARTED. I PRAY.
Obama was adopted by Soetoro and thus became a citizen of Indonesia and lost any claims to American citizenship while being a citizen of Indonesia. Although when he returned from Indonesia he could have made application for citizenship by doing an oath of loyalty to USA when he came of age. But he did not do that. So it is believed that he is still a citizen of Indonesia.

According to the article cited, “Sandra Abrevaya, communications director for the Obama campaign’s Manchester office, confirmed the choice had simply been a last-minute scrath from the rally’s program, which included the Pledge of Allegiance.”

Hi Everyone!
Great article on Americanthinker.com about Obama’s ties to ACORN. Quotes from ACORN thanking Obama for working with them, etc. Its called Obama’s big lie.
I sent it to Fox but they have been so wishy washy they might not touch it. If this get out on a commercial by McCain then it could be very damaging!
http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2008/10/18/the_force_of_the_hillary_effect/
***************************
THE BRADLEY EFFECT is fading into the Hillary Effect.
The former is the phenomenon that the polls overestimate how much white voters will support a black candidate. The latter was in full force Thursday at Barack Obama’s first rally of the homestretch of the presidential campaign. Huge numbers of women from New Hampshire and Massachusetts who breathed fire into Hillary Clinton’s campaign after Clinton was stunned in Iowa by Obama cheered jubilantly with the original Obama believers.
Until recently, polls indicated that a quarter of Clinton voters were so steamed over her elimination that they threatened to vote for Republican John McCain. A month ago, McCain had a slight lead in two polls in New Hampshire. Obama now leads by 10 percentage points in Real Clear Politics averaging of the last state polls. From listening to former Clinton voters, you know why.
“It took two to three weeks for it to all settle down,” said Sue Martin, 68, social studies textbook editor from Atkinson, N.H. She was a Clinton volunteer in the Salem office. “Back then, I thought he was way too young. But he’s grown a lot.”
“Up until the last month, I was going to write in Hillary,” said Janice Keene, a 58-year-old retired elementary school teacher from Londonderry. “I was quite disappointed. But our country needs change, especially the middle class.”
“I still feel Hillary was robbed,” said Geraldine Sanders, 68, of Candia, who assists Alzheimer’s patients at a residential treatment center. “You might say that, politically, I grew up with Hillary. She is a very strong woman. But my mother was a great Democrat and I can’t forget that.”
Whatever hope McCain had of peeling off white women voters is evaporating. According to Real Clear Politics averages, Obama is up 14 points in Pennsylvania and 8 points in New Mexico, states Clinton won. Obama is up 10 points in Michigan, where Clinton ran unopposed. Obama has small leads in Ohio, Florida, and Nevada, where Clinton won or ran virtually unopposed. President Bush won Ohio, Florida, Nevada, and New Mexico for the Republicans in 2004.
New Hampshire, while having only four electoral votes, is a final state McCain hopes to keep in play on Election Day. His running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, campaigned here this week. McCain clearly hoped that having a woman on the ticket would sway Clinton voters. But Clinton voters here said Palin is beyond the pale. In many cases her very selection accelerated their support of Obama.
Carol Kunz, a 42-year-old attorney from Manchester, said, “To compare the two women is insulting to women everywhere.”
Christine Hines, a 43-year-old homemaker from North Andover, said, “Palin’s right-wing politics curl my hair. How could any Hillary voter align herself with Palin?”
Carol Crowell of Haverhill, a 46-year-old executive editor in educational publishing, said, “My husband voted for Hillary too. But the idea that Hillary supporters would support someone the political polar opposite from Hillary on healthcare, education, and ending the war just because they’re women is crazy.”
The Hillary Effect is so much in play that Karen Fronterotta, a 50-year-old telecom sales representative from Kingston, N.H., is listed on the Obama campaign website as hosting a “Women for Truth and Change” party the Sunday before the election. She wants to get 30 women to pledge to get at least five of their friends to the polls for Obama. Sue Martin has switched from working for Clinton’s Salem office to working out of Obama’s Salem office.
“For me, it’s about changing the Supreme Court,” Martin said.
Lise Ragan, 56, joked about herself as “Jill the Publisher,” a play on McCain’s use of Joe the Plumber in the last debate. Ragan is an educational textbook publisher in Haverhill, Mass. She said the Palin ploy and the plumber play landed with a thud to her political ears. “You’re talking to the Hillary demographic here,” Ragan said. “I know that there might be tax repercussions in running a small business. But for me and most Hillary voters, the greater issue is the future of the planet.”

KarenWI question: WHERE ARE THE PUMA’S?????
*******************
There’s a place under this article to leave comments….
Those who look past injustices committed agaiunst another in order to preserve one’s own selfish desires, those who ignore atrocities in hopes of political gain and those who refuse to speak out against threats to our democracy for no reason more than self-servitude deserve NOTHING. (That was one helluva sentence!) No respect, no support and no tolerance should be shown to such people.
Any names come to mind?
This is Hillary Clinton. This is her silence.
It is unfathomable how Hillary Clinton can reject her own humanity in the course of politics. She is weak, she is disturbed and she can never be given any public trust. This is all her doing – or undoing as silence is failing to act.
I would have given her a chance had she shown an ounce of courage, but, instead, she plots for her own advantage. Pathetic.
If you PUMAs truly beleive in Hillary, then wake her up. Help her to redeem herself in the eyes of many. For as of now, we see her for what she is – whether she purposefully projects this image or not.
Good luck, PUMAs.
i wonder how murphy feels about this post-primary hillary…hmmmm
Morning all…sorry I have not been on for a couple of weeks but my mom fell and I have had been more than distracted but still lurked from time to time.
The evil one is coming to Orlando Monday. Crowds are estimated to be from 15,000 to 40,000. Will be praying that God will set his followers free from the trance they are in!
Thank you #5 itbj2 for sharing what I always thought was happening. Please repost every day, several times a day…wake up everyone he is more than evil!!
Have to go to work and will be working with John McCain’s campaign tomorrow afternoon. Thanks PUMAS for continuing to share…we will take America back!!
NO WAY NO HOW NOBAMA…NOW OR EVER!!
So Obama slapped women down and said they are forced to vote for him and now maybe he is correct. Well Scr3w him.
What is the matter with the women of America. When will they stand up and say NO MORE ABUSE.
We are never going to be treated with dignity and respect until we stand up and demand that we be treated with dignity and respect and demand no more abuse.
Is this the America we are leaving to our daughters and grand daughters.
Well damn it. I say keep working. Keep up the pressure. One woman at a time. Eventually we will wake up.
The truely sad part is that among men it is even but among women obama has an 8 point lead. It is the women that are handing Obama the election.
Please excuse me while I commit suicide. haha.
oh so now the new york times is trashing cindy mccain
Good morning, PUMAs.
Allentown’s Morning Call headline today:STATE GOP, CLAIMING VOTER FRAUD, SUES ACORN
I cancelled my subs to this paper because it’s in the tank, but I’m glad they’re forced to report some facts. They’re also running a story about Ayers: A CHANGE IN THE WEATERMAN?
It’s full of spin, but the more people see about these issues the better informed they’ll be.
#43 Kempion on 10.18.08 at 8:48 am
has something here.
men even
women +8 Obama
Imagine if Hillary had stood up to Obama. Then Obama would not be winning women. It becomes obvious that Hillary is handing the Messiah the election all for 30 pieces of silver. She is getting nothing from Obama. he will dump her once he wins. I am really angry now.
If Obama wins what happens to PUMA. We are here working to help Hillary win in 2012 and she is practicing SELF HATRED by shooting herself and America in the foot. Helping a lieing Marxist Communist take over America. It is Hillary who is destroying PUMA’s efforts. Maybe we need leadership from a new woman.
WE HAVE TO STOP OBAMA IN THE COURTS. FORCE THE SOS OF ALL THE STATES TO VETT OBAMA AS A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN OF USA. our own women are destroying our efforts at the ballot box. then add on all the corruption from ACORN. Why do women not vote against obama because of the corruption of acorn.
We have to go to basics and teach little girls to never accept abuse. Then they will grow up into real women. My mother did not take any shit. And I am not going to take any shit. She taught me well by example.
Lets get back to work. We need to find PUMA willing to help bring lawsuits against the SOS of all the states. of course especially the bigger ones. OHIO where are you. Massachusetts has tons of lawyers. where is Mass. Conn. Texas Mich Minn etc. lets get the law suits started. Berg is helping get the details done properly. Get a lawyer or get law students at a local law school to assist.
James Taylor:
Woke this morning, got my coffed, turned on the news, to see the long line of people waiting for free James Taylor tickets. He is traveling around NC doing free concerts for BO.
Well, that is not what bothered me. It was the interviews of the people in line. A number of them said the same things. They were not mean, angry, bitter but concerned. Really concerned (not about the pres. race) but about us (non bo supporters), as if we were walking down a path not good for our souls. Not a Mc path, just not the path of God. They seriously spoke as if WE havent seen ‘the light’ yet. The country is divided because of ‘us’. They are hoping the music will bring US together as ONE.
I swear, these people spoke as some evangelcals do. Hoping WE will be saved. Concerned for OUR souls.
all I can say is WTF…………………….
PS: I thought it was funny that the concert in is a park in an AA community. And not one black person in line for Mr Taylor.
I heard on Fox this morning that Obama claims that the GOP claims of voter fraud are bogus. Bogus?? When a city has more registered to vote than there are residents? When somebody comes forward to say how he had been pushed to register 72 times? When out of over 600,000 there are already 200,000 proven to have used fake street addresses? BOGUS? I’ll tell you who IS bogus… OBAMA! Obama loves to take truth and make people believe it’s a lie; and tell us a lie and make people believe it’s the truth. This makes me think of the Bible scripture that says something like “woe to those who call good evil, and evil good” or something like that…. God, where is America going? If Obama would win, and if his evil cohorts get a filibuster-proof majority in the congress America won’ t be GOING “to hell in a hand-basket” … they will already BE there, and they will have walked in there themself! If BO and his cohorts have complete control like that they will change the laws so that that truth is lies and lies is truth; they will change the laws so that they will be able to KEEP control indefinately. …and that is the end of America…..
Tonight on Fox:
Greta is doing a special show about Obama’s associates. Will also be live blogging.
#42 KAREN I posted the following on the article:
I’m a former Hillary supporter saddened by her total sellout. I am a PUMA and always will be. I say Nobama, Nobiden, November because he is NOT qualified to be President for too many reasons to list here. He jokes that people believe he was born in Indonesia-well no, it’s KENYA and more complicated than that. Plausible deniability for lying to the American electorate! Gov. Palin IS actually qualified to be President!
What happenes to PUMA if Obama wins? It has already been made clear… PUMA will endorse candidates and continue to prowl and such.
However, there are about 50 million PACs that do exactly the same. All nullifying eachother in the greater scheme of things.
PUMA can aspire to greater heights but needs to look within becasue the one thing that makes PUMA truly powerful is being overlooked.
PUMA started out of protest over DNC corruption, the annointing of Obama and their unwavering support for Hillary Clinton.
Introspection time. Opposing corruption, good. Standing tall against party and partisans for what is right, good. Support for Hillary Clinton in the now… knowing who she is really looking out for, crippling.
What other PAC has such a unique position as to be formed around Hillary Clinton’s electoral demise? Taking Mrs clinton to task over her silence will do one of two things for PUMA: either Hillary will listen, step up and deliver the knockout blow to Obama; or, two, Hillary will show her true selfish colors and remain silent. In the case of the latter, PUMA has no pull. In the former, however, PUMA has pull – strong, unique pull.
What more can be said? All I can do is beat this drum and point out the two-faced reality.
So, PUMAs, are you going to sit this one out or, having tasted the bitter buds of corruption aimed at you, will you take a stand and demand better of those you support?
People can say what they like about Hillary.. I’ll say my two cents worth. She is turning out to be just like all the rest of the dems like Pelosi. Why? Because she is standing up with evil and “doing her part” to get evil in charge… with Obama and Pelosi. If she were a “different” kind of politician- one who cared more about truth and honesty, and one who cared more for US than herself- she would have pulled away from that evil. No, she didn’t NEED to go along with them so that she can run again. She has name recognition… she would have pulled a HUGE following if she had stood up for truth and honesty and run as an independent. …and that’s my personal two cents worth.
Texas Tiger, Thank you! You made my morning! I love it. LOL
*Applauds Karen*
You get it.

Ario, I loved listening to the opera. Thank you for posting it. I just bookmarked it.
Every PUMA has to stand strong- NOBAMA!!!
People are everywhere in the media, in print, in public, etc trying to demoralize us and weaken us. Those ladies who spoke are not PUMAs, just Hillary supporters. There is a difference. You can like Hillary and her policies and either not care or not KNOW what went on in the primaries. We know and we will stand strong and continue to spread the word.
What I see happening is that just as Obama sent “talking points” to the media before the debates, he has sent them “talking points” for the run up to the election. They are to find every Hillary voter and every person that will say they drank the kool air and just pound because the polls show the leads shrinking after the debate, not growing. When Nobama gets worried, he goes in for to destroy the competitionl. We know his tactics from all the other times he has run for office.
McCain has to keep pounding home how Obama disses the middle class, the “racists” and the gun toting religious people clinging to God.
I will cling to my religion because I pray every day that God saves us from destroying our country. I pray that the TRUTH comes out in an irrefutable way before Nov 4.
We will not be pushed off the path we have taken of doing what is right to expose this loser’s tricks!
PUMAs!

They provide a script to use, and you can select any state you wish to make calls to. I would suggest calling battleground states. They are only asking volunteers to make 20 phone calls.
Thanks.
Oprah just pisses me off, because she has pushed ‘commercialism’ for years. Best of this, best of that….Oprah’s favorite things…a lot of them not cheap.
Her judgement of those who have helped her become so rich, is so condensending. I DO believe we are a wasteful country. BUT with all her homes that she is heating, planes that she is fueling, now the American public gets a pat on the headed for being less wasteful from her.
Oprah:
Viewers Are Rallying
“It feels like a big wake up call,” Oprah Winfrey , Americans are getting creative in cutting back on spending. Winfrey and Dylan Ratigan, a business journalist from CNBC, explained the source of the financial crisis. “We borrowed too much money, more money than we could afford to pay back,”
I meant pat on the head not on the headed

According to the article that Hillary’s supporters have moved to Obama, who the hell are they talking to?
After Rezko, Wright, Ayers, Acorn, a lot of people are questioning this guy Obama.
He is not a nice guy, or a savior. And I was NEVER for him because of No. 1 reason, TAXES. I am a small business owner.
Let them’write off’ McCain. But one thing I know about Republicans, they ALL turn up at the polls, and they won’t be voting for Obama.
Murphy: …And THAT IS WHY WE ARE ALL SO CRAZY!
(former thread…!)
If Hillary would have stood up for herself… for us… for the REAL democratic party….. and for America… instead of aligning herself with this anti-American dictator, he wouldn’t have the lead he has now. In fact, if she had stood up and created a NEW democratic party as an Independent back when she still had the majority of the popular vote, I’ll bet he would’ve had to eventually drop out and she would’ve won! As it is, by aligning herself with this evil, she has not only taken the stench of their evil on herself, but she has essentially “given” him the election. I’m not saying BO can’t still lose- but it has made it EXTREMELY difficult with all the fraud and evil that is oozing out from every corner of that campaign. I will say it again.. if BO wins and has a filibuster-proof group of his cronies like Brazille and Palosi behind him, they will pass laws that will extend their terms and make it virtually impossible for them to ever be wrenched out of control! “It’s now or never” to save America! …and we have to do it without Hillary’s help, because she’s helping HIM….

How does that make you feel, truly feel?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I am trying to put off any decision until after the election. But your posting hit me square between the eyes. Hillary is undermining all we stand for. this is ridiculous.
If Obama wins then what happens in 2012. what are we working to help Hillary for. She will stick with Obama. We will have lost Hillary because she will have walked away from us.
If Obama loses then we can help Hillary in 2012. But it be the Hillay that is so precious in my heart. I am not so sure any more.
Right now I feel like I have just got hit across the head and woke up. What is happening. Why are we working so hard for Hillary if she is handing the election to Obama. Why are women giving Obama the win.
I am so sick of corruption. It is everywhere in the democratic party this year. how can so many people in America close their eyes to corruption.
If Obama wins then maybe just maybe I will become a Republican. I can not support Obama. NO NOT EVER. Maybe the Democratic Party has changed. Evil has won out temporarily.
My activity with PUMA has taught me that the corruption in our gov is so very deep. We need a good clean gov first before we can make any progress. ideology is meaningless in a corrupt society.
I can only guess that if Obama wins then I will support Sarah Palin for President in 2012. Although Obama will have such a big communist machine by then no one will have a change. This election may well be the last free election in American History.
Slap Slap Wake up Hillary.
I still have hope that Obama will be taken off the ballot and replaced by Hillary and I will then vote for Hillary. I deeply believe that Obama is a citizen of Indonesia. But if it happens after the election then Biden will become President. What a farce. The guy is an active drunk. You can see him drunk on youtube.
MURPHY – I had already gone to bed before your post regarding Lord of the Rings – YOU CONSTANTLY amaze me at how you can pull something out of a book that can relate to our own situation – you are the one that they were not expecting and I like your jib and want to subscribe to your magazine ——-baahaaaaaaa -

DIXIE and Eward thank you for writing a letter to Letterman – DIXIE – do not remember seeing you post here before – thank you for helping me out – this is only my third cry for help since June here and it is appreciated very much – and EWard – you are always there for everyone – thank you for being you.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I will repost my request again – I think that I have milked this as much as I can from those regulars that are interested but if any lurker is out there – it does makes a difference when more than 5 or 6 pumas go after a target: If you are a lurker – all you have to do is click on my link below – subject – type in Letterman vs McCain and in the body – you can just say YOU SUCK….
or something to that effect – LOL.
Pookie – a couple of us tried to get a lot of lurkers here to help in a prowl against Letterman – don’t think there were any takers on here – but a few behind the scenes have sent comments – as have I… I agree – he was much worse and did more damage last night than The View did – he was GRILLED by Letterman with his smirky smile while enjoying every minute of making Sen McCain squirm – finally Sen McCain had enough and said what is this that we are doing – then the snarky Letterman smiled and said lets go to Commerical Break – I don’t like Jay Leno either but I threated Letterman that a lot of people would be switching from him to Leno -
If anyone wants to give Letterman crap here is the email address that will eventually wind up to him – tell him not to quit his dayjob – well maybe he really should do that as well – but funny he ain’t when it comes to politics:
POOKIE – thanks for your help on this one as well

MURPHY _ sorry should have said I like the cut of your jib —- well you know what I meant – off to my pet project of blogging on the newspapers – each day there is a new opportunity with new sublines to give me the cue to go forward on them.
My heart and love is with PUMA Murphy KarenWI Kampion etc. The real women of America. I will take a blood oath to stick with Truth Justice and the American Way and Super Woman.
I still want to fight in the courts. If a judge removes Obama from a ballot we have a major victory.

I happen to appreciate women. I did not know how severe the sexism in our nation was until the primaries. My eyes are open now.
Women are Americans too… so, y’all have boobs. I can handle that. I discern people by only one line of division: those who think and those who mindlessly follow along – often to their own demise.

#71GoHillary.. I’m not holding my breath about a judge removing BO. It seems like he has gotten such a “deathgrip” on the country right now that everyone is afraid to counter him! There is nobody strong enough to stand against him. I was shocked when the Supreme Court didn’t even stand up to protect us from him stealing the election! Who has the power to stand up and take him down? Hillary would have back before she “conceded”. Now not even she has that power anymore. No, you can try to get him removed….. but I am exremely doubtful any judge will do anything. So far the cases the judges are just “sitting on their hands”! ..even if they DID move, BO’s lawyers would just keep fighting it in court until the election was over and it wouldn’t matter anymore. No, the only way we can win this is if somehow people who are brainwashed can be brought to see the truth, and recognize the lies and evil they’ve been swallowing. That isn’t going to be an easy task. One person at a time…. but time is against us.
I’m sorry…. sometimes I feel like I’m trying to bail out a Tsunami with a spoon……… God help America! He is the only one who can.
Keep working PUMA’s…. “while there’s life there’s hope”. The end is not yet, and things CAN change very suddenly one way or the other almost overnight. Keep looking at the evil and get more and more determined to overcome it with good while we still can!

“It took two to three weeks for it to all settle down,” said Sue Martin, 68, social studies textbook editor from Atkinson, N.H. She was a Clinton volunteer in the Salem office. “Back then, I thought he was way too young. But he’s grown a lot.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This quote blows me away…. The woman says in 2-3 weeks he’s “grown” from “way too young” to being competent as president?!? Must be the hypnosis….has to be!
Can’t believe they let this article out of the tank so close to the election!
Farrakhan says ‘new beginning’ for Nation of Islam
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081018/ap_on_re_us/farrakhan_mosque
In February, Farrakhan appeared at an annual Saviours’ Day event in Chicago and called Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama the “hope of the entire world” that the U.S. will change for the better. The Obama campaign quickly denounced Farrakhan’s support, because of past comments about Jews that many have called offensive.
#76kids1627….Did you say…growing up in the Northeast? Ah…that is what I love about these PUMAS..
Truth tellers all!…..I never met that kind of truth when I was in the Northeast…maybe I did not hang around long enough! No matter. It is good to see Truth, no matter where, no matter when, no matter about what!
..but especially about name calling and race.
Maybe doesn’t break the bones but it sure beats the hell out ,of them and weakens the spirit, residing within those bones! Thanks for the post.
You know what. You folks that insist on sitting on this blog bashing Hillary Clinton for backing her Party and as a consequence That One, you really need to get your head out of your collective arses and get to work counteracting the so-called “Hillary Effect” that’s being reported. I personally do not believe there is any such effect. The vast, vast majority of people that I talk to who would have voted for Hillary here in PA are now voting for McCain or not at all. They know the distinction between a far-left liberal and a moderate when they see it.
Again, this is NOT a “Hillary Clinton pisses me off”, “Hillary sold us out” blog. It is a blog to discuss ways to defeat The Chosen One on November 4 2008.
I’m getting so tired of this over and over and over discussion about Hillary Clinton. Get over it and get to work! It’s diverting us from our cause. We cannot control Hillary Clinton, but we may be able to change some voters minds if we get our message out there – NOW.
People remember, there will always be some people on this blog who never were Clinton supporters in the first place or who, based upon their reactions to her now supporting what SHE believes in, clearly never understood why she was running for POTUS in the first place. Therefore, they will never understand how those of us who were her supporters and also believed in what SHE still believes in can still stand behind her. We get the point. Agree to disagree. Move on. It’s inconsequential to our cause other then we may need to work harder to beat the Annointed One. Our beef is NOT with Hillary Clinton at thtis point, she’s not on the POTUS ticket, Oblowme is! So focus.
Geesh.
I’m thinking of the behavior of some of the female anchors/reporters on CNN/MSNBC and how they get so shrill and defensive if anyone criticizes him or intimates that he might not be leading, or might not win, etc. It’s crazy, irrational and bizarre.
Funny, I was just thinking of Campbell Brown…..
*****************************************
I will never forget the remark Campbell made when Hillary suspened. And the term PUMA among ‘women’ was making the rounds.
Scene: Women screaming as Bo removed his jacket at a rally in No. Va.
Campbell says: “And they say he has a problem with women”.
Jouralism at its best. Being a women of PUMA mind I found that to be offensive. Oh and stupid.
I can’t even spell his name right
Responce I sent to BO’s attempt to tell me he “won” the last debate & wouldn’t I like to contribute to his campaign & get worthless junk:
Barack “won” nothing. He showed himself to be the same narcicistic adolescent he has been all along. His advertising campaign is obscene . . . there is no way he could be spending this much to get the job if his supporters didn’t expect to be compensated 10 fold. Take my name off your lists . . . I wouldn’t vote for Obama if his was the only name on the ballot.
And now, off to Penn Station with freddie’s flyers.
#85 you are right that our focus needs to be on NoBama. My point in saying what I did about Hillary is point out that this is NOT just an “Obama” problem. Yes, he is at the crux of it because he’s running for POTUS. However, what about Brazille? Pelosi? Frank? What about those (including BO) who thumbed their noses at the problem with Fannie/Freddy and actually helped create it? ….not counting their padding the pockets of ACORN and using it? There is evil going on here that is overtaking the whole democratic party leadership. The one at the head of that right now is Obama, simply because he’s the one running for POTUS. However, all of them- including Hillary (that’s why I brought her up)- seem to have created a pact to “take over” America with this evil. Keeping Obama out is important – VERY important- but what about the “takeover” of the democratic party? Obama’s quick climb to the top of it is only one indication of how the party has been “taken over” and what their goal is of “taking over” America. Focus… on Obama, yes. But I say to focus also on the root of this whole problem… the takeover of the democratic party by this evil. We have an insurmountable problem if BO wins, and this evil dem leadership has a filibuster proof majority. We have a big problem if BO loses but there is still a filibuster proof majority of Palosi cronies who can overturn vetoes. Think about it…. we are facing two problems here- not just one. We need to be focused, but that means taking our eyes OFF Hillary 2012 and ON “saving America” before Pelosi, Dean, Brazille, Frank, BO, and… (gulp)… even Hillary standing beside them… take over and remake America.
Maybe Seamus is a girl? Hell, I don’t know.
Email sent to Letterman
OH NO – Thank you Freddie for advising that Gov Palin will be on that worthless Letterman show – he was licking his chops with McCain begging for the chance to bring her down — I ended my project of getting people to write to Letterman – now everyone has to do it more than ever BEFORE he makes his attempt on her — we can NOT lose this election because of Hollywood creeps like Letterman -
Email address for the “talk show host” is
They were coming for me but by that time
I joined her PAC of PUMAS with PRIDE!
#61 fmster how are people acting towards you when you call , are you getting a good response, negative or hang ups?
Pumas, you are the key to defeating Obama. Mc Cain already has the Republican base covered. He needs to pick off weak Obama supporters (former Hillary supporters) who are waking up to attacks on Joe the Plumber and common people who don’t drink the “kool-aid”. There is evidence I posted which says a few voters are switching from Obama to Mc Cain. In order for Mc Cain to have a chance, it is imperative that Pumas stop complaining and focus on reaching former Hillary voters who are blindly following “The One”.
I don’t mean to be critical, just want to make sure everyone is focused on constructive activities.
#98 Hell lets email Palin and tell her NOT to go on his show. Why should we or she give any boost to their ratings. BOYCOTT THE SUCKER!!
Bill Ayers appearance at Nebraska University on November 15 has been canceled due to “safety concerns”.
Actually the entire state was disgusted by this louse of a man being invited to a public school and protested. The governor and other politicians put the pressure on to have Bill Ayers not appear.
Thank God. America is beginning to fight like a puma.
I want Obama defeated… but I’d like to make sure people are aware that if the dem leadership (Pelosi, Frank, Brazille, etc) wins a veto-proof majority it’s only half of a win. Then anything McCain would veto of their evil American “takeover” would be overturned…..
I think that the time for encouraging court challenges to Nobo has passed. There’s simply not enough time for any court to take actiuon before Nov. 4th. Also . . . whatever we think about Hillary’s “toeing the party line” is long over. Our focus now has to be defeating the self-ordained messiah. Obama cannot be trusted . . . his organization is all about career before country.
Now, off to play with the trfains.
NewOrleansPuma.
You’re too cool.
Thank you freddiebrown for flyers. Posted first batch this morning in Wesley Chapel, fl. Will do second tomorrow.
Hillary can change this race from close to shoo-in. She proves herself by remaing silent.
This is HER doing not mine or anyone who sees what’s going on. The deliberate undermining of our democracy is obvious to casual observers. Hillary has nothing to lose and everything to gain by speaking out.
Who the hell is Allah?
“Once abolish the God and the government becomes the God.”–G.K. Chesterton
Some people have suggested that Hillary Clinton ’sold us out’. I would suggest– Was she ever really who we thought she was. Look at who she supports now, and the fact that we have uncovered truths about Obama that belie who HE portrays himself to be to the public.
They have no God and deceive many!!
#116Kempion: Then I guess we will simply have to continue to continue to do what we are doing to show that in this case and this election cycle…We are right and she is not…Hillary is not Athena. She is a human like the rest of us..and I for one agree with the passionate appeal of NoBamaDem in post#85. ..for the record!
116 Kempion on Hillary’s silence is……DEAFENING!!!!
Some of us are feeling like we are in political limbo. The things we always thought were sterling have turned out to be anything but that. There are a number of reasons for this feeling.
The first is the Democratic party’s crooked and flawed nomination process. The winner of the election lost the nomination. That is such a paradox that most of us have a mental difficulty in processing it.
The second reason we are so disjointed is that Hillary Clinton, our hero, is now backing the very people who cheated her. All our loyalty to her and her talents as a leader and a thinker is now suspect.
These two things make me wonder if I can actually trust MY own judgement.
There are two other things nagging at my subconsience and coming to the surface more often than I like.
The first of those is my support for a Republican candidate in the most important position in the country. I have long rejected much of what the republicans stand for, and have done so vigorously. In a critical time such as this, HOW can I be supporting those who were once viewed by me as being so in the wrong about so many issues?
The second part of this is the economic crisis. It came as a shock to my brain that the democrats had probably caused the crisis, and if not caused it, had heavily contributed to it. The industry that I have worked in for the last 22 years is also heavily to blame. It would appear that the most the republicans did to cause this mess was that they let democrats and profit seekers run the show without much republican resistance.
The third aspect of our limbo is the vacant sense of loss. We lost our political anchor. We lost the party where we dwelled. The Democratic Party home has burned to the ground while we watched and even fanned the flames. Now we are, essentially, HOMELESS.
The only answer for the homeless vagabond PUMA is to go on into a new house. Not a republican house, nor do we return to that pile of ashes that was the democratic party, but we go, buy land, and build a new, more modern, inhabitable home.
Basic in my thoughts is: Once we found truth, we cannot go back to lies. Hillary did, and we now distrust her. We must conciously move forward and take our message of CHANGE to the people. There are many of us out here. Some belong, some don’t (yet) belong. If we build this new PUMA house, they will find us.
#119 Montainsong, I can’t understand why people can’t make the connection that Obama is a racist. Look at Obama’s minister, and look at his association with Farrakhan. Why isn’t the message of Obama’s racism being delivered?
I continue to do what I can for PUMA because my vote for McCain is both a protest vote against the DNC and a vote for campaign reform. The Obama flip-flop that disgusted me the most (and their have been a lot) was when he decided not to stand by his pledge to take public financing. He confirmed what I already suspected, that he really is just “Politics as usual, Chicago style”.
No matter the outcome of this election, I plan to continue to work for campaign reform. I see it as the only way to ever get elected officials that really put “County First”.
That picture up top is depressing me (maybe because I fell and broke a rib and am in alot of pain) but I don’t find poor people doing backbreaking work inspiring. More puma pictures for me please. Thanks.
Post # 54
You ask very valid questions. I am sure you are not alone in wondering what will happen to PUMA.
I know I would like to see PUMAs and others orgs. get together and protest in WA DC if BO wins this election. I would love to continue to be a thorn in their sides. If we go away without a fight they have won.
I am glad I found this site. You all are great in your own way.
#118 New Orleans Puma, correction it is all working people and property owners who lose if we embrace Obama and Socialism. At first the very wealthy will lose, then the middle class will lose. Their goal is to “share the wealth” with the 40% who pay no taxes. The ultimate goal is that we all become dependent upon the Government for our existence.
#122Mountainsong: Hillary is not Athena! I suppose if that or any other archetype in one’s imagination had identified her in such a manner or anyone else for that matter, then, happily, she is not , nor is anyone else ever always who we think they are…and this applies as much to the best among us as to the worse…
Preachy? Maybe…maybe not. Good Saturday to you, Mountainsong…long may you sing!
Let me ask you, don’t we need to collectively decide which State’s lawsuit do WE support. It needs to make an impact. $20 or so doesn’t make an impact and let’s get going on it. The time is running out. Our justice system is squeaky at its best.
BTW: May the pain in your ribs be abated ASAP. Then POOF, be gone with it completely.
If you live in america you pay taxes they are on everthing even the on the air .
fmster,
To add on the Zogby poll – THE TIDE IS TURNING!
Obama leads McCain by 48 to 44 percent among likely voters in the four-day tracking poll, which has a margin of error of 2.9 points.
Pollster John Zogby said that while Obama’s overall lead had remained relatively stable between 2 and 6 points in the 12 days since the poll started, the latest figures showed a bump for McCain following Wednesday’s final presidential debate.
“Today was the first full sample post-debate and there’s a clear indication that McCain is moving up,” Zogby said.
He added that McCain’s support among Republican voters appeared to be consolidating.
HILLARY IS IRRELEVANT NOW! She’s not in the ticket running for President, she gave up her delegates to NObama, what does it say about her? I’ve supported Hillary, but I’m not blind of what she’s doing. My loyalty to politicians has limitations, I always put my country forefront over any politician.
Hillary do not need protection from any of us, WE THE PEOPLE need protection from UNSCRUPULOUS POLITICIANS who always pull our strings like we’re a bunch of puppets who can’t think on our own. To some people, principles don’t matter, to me, principle is everything. When Hillary did not stand up for the people who put their trust on her, I questioned her, what she really stands for? Is she standing up for the people of this country? Is she standing up for her country? Or she’s standing up for her party?
From her OWN LIPS she stated NObama is NOT fit to be President, he’ll bring speeches into the Whitehouse; now she’s singing a different tune. What does it say about her?
You decide!
Another thought that occurred to me — speaking of food, what would happen if a plate of fried porkchops got shoved in front of that one? The thought makes me chuckle.
#130fmster: Most certainly, but to feed us, it will be on the backs of the farmers to do so, here and around the world…and even the most energizd passions of these radicals as those before them can not sustain a starving people!
Socialism is the antithisis of “I’d rather do it myself” character mentality.
It’s like living with your parents your whole life through letting them make all the decisions for you.
I read some place that the Dems were actively begging Loren Michaels (SNL producer) NOT to have Sarah on SNL. Seems they’re afraid that she’ll charm the pants off of America if she’s exposed to the crowd that looks at this show! And if First Dude makes a cameo appearance, WOW, wouldn’t that be great? He’s so good looking and cool! GO SARAH GO!!
#137dixie: What a fine name to be abused for heading such a foul thought. I am not laughing. In Dixie, at least the part I am from…only a petrified humor caught in a time warp here or whereever you are from gets a chuckle from that.
85 NObamaDem I think that’s just so much BS. We worked our asses off, gave time and money to support her. Since the primaries, we have tried to swallow our disappointments and continure working to defeat BO. To say we are not doing anything really pisses me off.I know I’m not the only one who has spent hundreds on printer ink. And sent hundreds, if not thousands of email prowls to news media, government officials and anyone else who might listen or be persuaded. We have continued to donate time, money and effort. Two weeks ago, I was called a racist and physically assaulted while putting out freddie’s flyers. I thought the scratches and small shiner on my face were a small price and worth it.
It’s a hell of alot easier to STAY inspired and motivated when we are FOR someone, instead of AGAINST someone, but WE have hung in there, all summer and fall since the beginning of the primaries.
As for Hillary Clinton–personally I believe her day has come and gone. She chose not to stand and fight this corruption among us and instead, not only supports Obama, but call on all of us who loyally supported HER to support and vote for someone and something we do not believe in. The Obama campaign undermines and opposes everything I have ever been taught about America.
Sometimes, I wonder what about post-election.Hillary is history. What will our focus, direction and cause be then? Kempion’s posts deserve consideration.
But to say “Get off your asses” to me just really pisses me off.
I agree. I think she will do a great job!! I think it is a good thing. I doubt she would have agreed to appear unless she felt comfortable. She is a strong woman and can handle everything thrown her way.
NOP — I thought that name would instantly tell PUMAs where I reside, but my goal is the same, no matter where you live and I love my Country and my section of it. Know no other way. Alot of respected history here and people honor it. Unfortunately, I think that I am going to proclaim myself as a definite follower, I realized early that you are much stronger women than I, thanks to a Mother that was really a STRONG WOMAN, had to be.
Well said! I’m just waiting for the post office to open to mail buttons to our fellow pumas, then off I go distributing flyers. I think some people do not understand, when we distribute flyers we spend money on putting gas in our car and they’re NOT cheap nowadays; but we’re doing everything we can because we love this country.
#145KarenW: You missed both the tone and purpose of post#137. That’s ok!
NOP and KarenW — I thought it would “rat” him out as to whether he is a true Muslim or not. Devious way of doing it!!!!!! I am assuming that he is, but the truth is in the details.
148 Asian4Hillary I put out some more flyers yesterday in a chain store. I’ve never done anything like this before – so have been nervous about it. I felt better after the second one. You just can’t imagine where these flyers are located!
Thanks for your spell on my rib pain and I just took a pain pill so the spell should be working shortly.
#138 New Orleans PUMA, I don’t disagree. I grew up on a farm and have family who are farmers. My concern lately is that people don’t fully understand what is at stake here. If Obama is elected with the Congress we have now, they can do irreparable harm to this country. You can look for a collapse of the stock market rivaling the Great Depression and loss of pensions, people’s homes, lost jobs, and nationalization of industries. People like Warren Buffet who back Obama will continue gobbling up stocks as the stock market falls, taking control of everything the Government doesn’t control. People think Buffet is one of the “good guys”; he is not. Buffet supports a globalization strategy which weakens the United States. Its not like you and I can say Hillary or someone else can straighten things out in 2012. There may not be a way to straighten things out if Obama is elected.
126 fmster Because, morally, most of us believe racism is wrong and an abomination, so we would rather not look at it. Even though, if we are attacked because of our race, we will fight to the death to defend ourselves. It’s just the law of survival..
Yes, Obama knows this and uses the racism label as a weapon. But don’t think that people aren’t listening because they aren’t saying anything.
We know our enemy and have them in our sights. Before it’s over, Obama may have great bloodshed on his hands.
John McCain states correctly that Barack Obama favors a socialistic economic approach by supporting tax cuts and tax credits that would merely shuffle wealth rather than creating it.
“At least in Europe, the Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives,” McCain said. “They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Sen. Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut; it’s just another government giveaway.”
The photograph of the women turning over the soil is beautiful. It’s beautiful as art.
I also appreciate photographs, or any exposure really, of women doing what they have always done but for which they have been given little, if any, acknowledgement.
I have a book an acquaintance wrote: Women at Ground Zero, by Susan Hagen and Mary Carouba.
Stories about the women, first responders, fire captains, medical technicians, firefighters, etc. Withouit this book, one would believe that the only role women had in 9/11 was as ‘the widows”.
Too often, supplementary material has to be created in order counter the invisiblity of women’s participation and contributions.
Oh, gotta change the channel if they’re putting BO on FOX – I can’t even “listen” to the lies anymore!!
I have to get some letters for faxes together today. I may go ahead and fax them, but wanted to do this on Monday. I’m sending them to the BIG BOYS – White House/CIA/DOD/FBI.
Does this mean I may have to go Underground?
I’m open up to suggestions on where else I need to send a FAX – I’m working on B. Hussein’s qualifications to be POTUS!! and I’m asking if anyone is looking out for the American Citizens!!
I know what you mean, that’s the feeling I had years ago when I was doing it for Bill Clinton. I was a bundle of nerves, then I get used to it. It makes you feel good isn’t it? No one can accuse you of being a fence sitter, you go out there expose yourself to everything. You walk your talk, and that matters a lot. Talking against NObama is easy, but walking your talk is a different ball game. I interact with people when I distribute flyers, I even stop a person pulling out of the parking lot so I can give him a flyer, I signalled him to roll down his window. I gave a lot of flyers to a truck driver who drives all over USA, he wanted to help spread the word.
Keep up the good work, we’re making a difference.
See you all later, time to work!
Post Election
Scenario #1: President Obama with a filibuster-proof house and senate who will give more money to ACORN, make the economy worse (like they did 2-3 years ago), and will make fools of us with other countries, opening us up to being destroyed by terrorists. They will quickly take Hannity and Rush off the air, and work to change their term limits so that they can never lose power again.
Scenario #2:
BO loses/McCain wins with veto-proof majority in congress. Obama, along with Clinton, will be back in the Senate. They will take Rush and Hannity off the air, McCain will veto, but the veto will be overturned. They will give more money to ACORN, and make the economy worse. McCain will veto, and the veto will be overturned. They will work to make new laws to make SURE “their guy” gets in the white house, and will impeach McCain and Palin putting Pelosi in power.
Third case scenario: Obama wins with no supermajority in congress. Obama will open us up to being destroyed by terrorists by being a fool, and by taking the side of our enemies. Congress won’t get anything done just like now.
Fourth case scenario: Obama loses, and no supermajority in congress. McCain puts through bills to help the economy that actually get approved. Congress may try putting through bills to destroy us, but they will be vetoed by McCain and there won’t be enough to overturn the vetos.
Which scenario do you, personally, want?
Does anyone have an update on how the race is going in CA with Dana Walsh and the female evil one???? I donated to her campaign a second time. The first time was due to mention on this blog and the second time was when I was reminded that That One is powerless without powerful partners. By the look of things, he has more connections than bellsouth. BUT right now, it is open-season on her. “Sic her” I’d like to see the botox beauty behind bars.
I am off to hand out flyers to the people at the bus stations and train station – they are the more likely to sit back and read the information since they do not have to drive and have the time to spend.
Then I will spend the rest of the day blogging on newspapers in the swing states
Hm, d’ya suppose Ossiah used his hypno-tech on Hillary?
I posted the original of that “Came For” poem a few times way downstairs, so here it is again:
They came first for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time no one was left to speak up.
#147Dixie. Tell me, dixie, where in Dixie do you reside?
You will find no less in me honor for a respected history and love of the South than I. My problem with your tone and content and your image is that that is not what one is to honor about my history and the South…The honor is about honoring brave men and women who, under grave repercussions, used the wrong issue (slavery)for the right cause: States rights. As a result of the perpetual link brought on by that wrong issue, even a benign discussion of what States rights within the Republic are and should be has been so diminished as to render it almost non existent, and this at a time when over and over we have seen a central government treat states as chattell themselves.
My issue with your post is it continues that linkage:
Your comment clearly embodies precisely why we now suffer from rights all over the place being denied to states and indviduals…Your comment whether you realize it or not perpetuates a petried stereotype of another person who is of color. and your linkage to Dixie infuriates me as a result. It perpetuates precisely why no body dare touch the issue of states rights within the ongoing diminishment of them
Joe the Plumber and Economics is a DIVERSION!! Let’s keep up work on Rezko, the Bailout, Ayers, BO’s anti-American alliances!!! These are the real issues!! Keep this information out front!!! What is the governmnet doing about this? It’s pathetic!
FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN TURNING REPUBLICANS INTO ACTIVISTS:
I’ve found over the past couple of weeks as I’ve been engaging people with McCain/Palin yard signs (not easy to find around where I live) that folks really listen up when you have a couple of sound bites about caucus fraud. It seems to drive the point home about how an election can be stolen in a tangible way. Most Republican’s weren’t paying that kind of attention to the Dem primaries and obviously the media didn’t cover caucus fraud. In my experience talking with Republicans about caucus fraud is a real eye opener. I come with a little letter in hand that includes links to some web sites (including PUMApac and Lynette’s caucus fraud site) to refer them to. But, most of all, I invite them to step beyond simply voting on Election Day. I also think that for them, knowing I’m a (former) Dem makes the encounter all the more powerful cause here I am, not even a Republican, urging them to do all they can to make sure Obama is not elected. (And, you get to talk to some folks about politics without risking having your head bashed in! A real bonus prize!)
I think it is historical, that so many “americans” have shown such hatred period towards two women who did nothing but accomplish so much
Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, I think this is the most
outrageous period
Hiallry can end Obama’s campaign without a Constitutional crisis. She won’t do so because she is looking out for herself and herself only.
She is relevant at this point in history.
She will not be relevant in four years. By then, all of her supporters, barring the most rabid, will see what she allowed to happen and know she stood silent.
This is HER doing.
183 DancesWithPumas How is saying the truth about Hillary considerd ‘bashing’? She supports the very person we are working to defeat. I know this has been a ’support Hillary’ blog, back when, but since when did it become a ‘worship hillary’ site?
No, it doesn’t say he supports O. It says the plumber’s union does. He refuses to say, says he wants people to make informed decisions.
I thought that Joe the Plumber would not say who he was voting for? I thought that Katie Couric cut him off the night of the debate when Joe started “praising’ McCain. I heard Joe say that he was very concerned with Obama’s answer and said it was socialism. I’d be surprised if he is voting for Obama.
Anyway, have you seen this YouTube? It is AWESOME! You have to share this with others. It says and shows it ALL!
In the final analysis, however, we must realize that social injustice and unjust social structures exist only because individuals and groups of individuals deliberately maintain or tolerate them. It is these personal choices, operating through structures that breed and propagate situations of poverty, oppression, and misery.
Dear Mr. Keller:
I represent Cindy McCain. I write to appeal to your sense of fairness, balance and decency in deciding whether to publish another story about her. I do this well knowing your obvious bias for Barack Obama and your obvious bias hostility to John McCain. I ask you to put your biases and agendas aside.
I understand that Cindy is in the public eye, but you have already profiled her extensively (Jennifer Steinhauer reported), written about her financial situation (including an editorial on her tax returns) and about her role at Hensley and Company.
I am advised that you assigned two of your top investigative reporters who have spent an extensive amount of time in Arizona and around the country investigating Cindy’s life including her charity, her addiction and her marriage to Senator McCain. None of these subjects are news.
I am also advised that your reporters are speaking to Tom Gosinski and her cousin Jamie Clark, neither of whom are reliable or credible sources. Mr. Gosinski has been publicly exposed as a liar and blackmailer on the subject of Cindy McCain. Jamie Clark has very serious drug and stability issues and has failed in a number of attempts to blackmail Cindy. She is simply not credible.
In 1994, Mr. Gosinski drafted a civil complaint for damages claiming, among other things, that Cindy had defamed him with prospective employers after he was discharged from AVMT. Those allegations were utterly false. He was unable to produce any prospective employers and Cindy had not discussed his deficiencies as an employee with anyone outside of AVMT. Indeed, his termination was demonstrated to be appropriate and when he was let go, Cindy gave him severance pay. When confronted with this evidence, his lawyer resigned. Gosinski never filed the complaint in Court and could produce no evidence to support any of its allegations. He attempted to have Cindy pay him $250,000 in exchange for not filing the complaint. Cindy refused and made his attempt to extort her public.
Thereafter, he amended his complaint to allege that Cindy asked him to commit perjury in the adoption proceed involving Bridget McCain. The notes of Cindy’s counsel and the official transcript of the adoption proceedings clearly demonstrate that Gosinski’s was never asked to lie and did not falsely testify in the proceeding. His allegation was an utter fabrication. Gosinski further alleged that Cindy used his name to obtain pain killers for her own personal use. The records of AVMT show that Dr. Max Johnson, licensed by the DEA to order drugs, directed the use of employee names on the prescriptions. The drugs obtained using Mr. Gosinski’s name were used and donated on an AVMT trip to El Salvador. They were not used by Cindy.
These allegations and efforts to hurt Cindy have been a matter of public record for sixteen years. Cindy has been quite open and frank about her issues for all these years. Any further attempts to harass and injure her based on the information from Gosinski and Clark will be met with an appropriate response. While she may be in the public eye, she is not public property nor the property of the press to abuse and defame.
It is worth noting that you have not employed your investigative assets looking into Michelle Obama. You have not tried to find Barack Obama’s drug dealer that he wrote about in his book, Dreams of My Father. Nor have you interviewed his poor relatives in Kenya and determined why Barack Obama has not rescued them. Thus, there is a terrific lack of balance here.
I suggest to you that none of these subjects on either side are worthy of the energy and resources of The New York Times. They are cruel hit pieces designed to injure people that only the worst rag would investigate and publish. I know you and your colleagues are always preaching about raising the level of civil discourse in our political campaigns. I think taking some your own medicine is in order here.
I ask you to let Cindy McCain carry on in her usual understated, selfless and dignified way. The fabrications and lies of blackmailers are not fit to print in any newspaper but particularly not in The New York Times.
Sincerely,
John M. Dowd
Thank you. I liked that link very much so.
If that poll there is an indication, then all McCain really needs to do in order to win as ambitiously by a landslide is get that message out that Obama is a socialist.
After 238 years of American independence I think most people are used to some sort of self reliance and will never accept socialism. That stuff is for weaklings and followers like Europe.
And if it weren’t for America Europe today would be even worse off than being socialist. By now they would all be speaking German living under a facist government had they not been liberated by our American democracy.
Today’s Europe hasn’t a clue on the value of knowing their history.
Ya me too! A waste of time and energy, we need to move on and beat Obuma. Hillary can wait till it is over, maybe she will surprise us maybe not………..I can not ask her to be a target for the abuse and threats she had and I am sure still lives with! Even TT is not that brave or strong.
#161mountainsong: I think Iheard something about that…but I stopped looking at her as I mentioned above quite a while back…These super rich media Kings and Queens become so insulate and isolated by the style of life they have that it does not suprise me she now is the “ChurchWoman”…and while she may not sound and look like the Church Woman on some of the older Saturday Night Live shows…she is no less irrelevant! LOL MS!
DWP,
By saying I’d never vote for Hillary again is not “bashing” her. I enthusiastically supported Hillary throughout the primary, campaigning weekly for her, manning phones, knocking on doors, giving her my hard earned dollars to defeat an unqualified, inexperienced, race-baiting, “Hurry-Come-Up”. I won’t be blinded like the Obots in not seeing that she is HARMING our cause every time she goes out and campaigns for one she herself said “wasn’t ready to lead”. My cause still remains the same to defeat the messiah with or without Hillary’s help. But after this is over, whatever the outcome – Hillary has lost me as a supporter. there’s NOTHING she could ever say to excuse her over active support for this incompetent one!
#154fmster: Oh, I know we do not disagree…and you state so beautifully all of the issues and realities we face under sucha regime as Ojingo….All that we must continue to set forward every where we can!
“Uncertain Times Require McCain’s Tested Vigilance”
Editorial
Tampa Tribune
October 17, 2008
The direction of the nation is at stake in this election.
Hard economic times, a disappointing Republican administration and the seductive promises of a master orator are pushing America toward a European-style social democracy.
If you don’t want that to happen, vote for Republican Sen. John McCain.
First, it must be acknowledged that Democratic Sen. Barack Obama gets a lot of things right, especially when emphasizing what has gone wrong. Studiously unflappable, he is the most inspirational campaigner in memory.
McCain, too, has many ideas for improvement, but his changes build on what has worked in the past to make our nation the strongest in the world.
McCain understands that U.S. companies must compete worldwide and shouldn’t have to pay one of the world’s highest corporate tax rates. He knows that federal spending is out of control. He knows that economic growth only comes from hard work and real investment, not through wholesale redistribution of tax dollars as Obama promises.
Obama became a political celebrity by representing the disaffected. He is generating unprecedented enthusiasm among the young and the poor, and their participation is welcome. Yet mainstream voters need to understand that the change these voters want will have historic consequences. Obama’s future America is largely unrestrained by many of the traditional values long held by Middle America.
Obama promises a tax cut for 95 percent of households, even though only 62 percent of households pay any income tax now. Taxes would increase sharply for households making more than $250,000 a year — a policy that penalizes success.
Profitable small businesses would be hardest hit. Obama even has the audacity to promise a tax break for businesses that create jobs, while simultaneously increasing taxes that would force some businesses to cut payrolls.
Last year, Obama had the most liberal voting record in the Senate. If elected, he would appoint activist judges capable of finding liberal surprises in the Constitution. He would push for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. He would agree to new barriers to trade, which would raise consumer prices.
We urge voters, especially independents and moderate Democrats, to think about where the candidates and their parties are coming from, where they want to go and who the candidates really are.
Obama is a lawyer, a professor, a best-selling author and a winning debater. He is smart and patriotic, but as a leader on the national stage, mostly untested. His short tenure in the Senate has been unremarkable, other than being consistently partisan.
McCain brings a lifetime of useful experience, including his grueling captivity in Vietnam and long Senate service. He believes in federalism, a strong defense and disciplined self-interest.
McCain has been willing to cross party lines to work on tough problems. He co-authored a campaign finance law that failed to fulfill its objective, but he did muster the bipartisan support needed to try to control the buying and selling of public office.
He is more open-minded on energy reforms than Bush has been. He has an independent nature and passion for public service. He spoke out against torture and strongly criticized Bush’s first defense secretary for resisting the surge of troops McCain knew Iraq needed for peace to have a chance.
McCain’s biggest challenge is that after eight years of the Bush White House, it’s hard to say his party still believes in smaller government. He has run an uneven campaign, facing an unfair share of blame for budget deficits, feeble economic growth, costly military interventions, uncontrolled immigration, emergency bailouts of misled corporations, and a diminished world opinion of America.
Yet the record shows blunt-talking McCain would begin to return his party, and the nation, to a more conservative, compassionate and productive path. He is not the candidate preferred in much of Europe and the Middle East, but he would keep us safe and begin to repair America’s image worldwide.
A few states could make the difference in this election. Florida is likely to be one, and Tampa Bay will be a key battleground. The McCain-Obama race is a choice that divides families, friendships and even editorial boards.
Obama’s vision of hope shines like a rainbow, appealing but just out of reach. McCain’s call to freedom and responsibility is less exciting, but you know it works.
The Tribune encourages voters to vote what they believe, not what they wish were true. The nation needs a stable leader in these unpredictable times.
For president, the Tribune endorses Sen. John McCain.
I had not seen this video of Joe the Plumber on Good Morning America. Once I heard what Joe said, then I understood better why BO’s campaign (& media who support BO) have been so busy attacking and trying to discredit Joe.
#199… I enjoyed the link… but was extremely concerned that my full name was showing up along the left side asking for my donation. How did they know my full name????????? Something’s odd here. I’m going to do some checking for spyware now…
#203… ps-…. it showed my first name, middle initial, and last name…. I don’t like going to a website and finding it showing my FULL NAME and asking for a donation, when I didn’t click anything IN that website or filled anything out!
#183Dances with Pumas: I saw after the fact on a previous thread you had asked about posting on the Action Center .a comment I had made re The Cohen report , et al and Acorn. If you will go to the site and read the comments etc and think that my posting is useful re the issues, you may post it. I am not quite sure however that my comments are as useful as that particular site in itself. I think you should if you wish post the site and the linkage to those 37 comments with it…and you can decide if you wish to include my comments or not. I would prefe to focus on the site, rather than my comments…however. I will leave that to your judgment
That letter is excellent, but the last sentence blows it:
“The fabrications and lies of blackmailers are not fit to print in any newspaper but particularly not in The New York Times.”
It should, of course, say:
“The fabrications and lies of blackmailers are not fit to print in any newspaper, not even The New York Times.”
pumaduma…
in the new america ..the definition of “American” has changed radically from what it has been in the past..
..why do you think obama has such huge support?
Thought you’d like to know that Obambi only had 8,000 people attend his rally yesterday at Roanoke, VA. I was disappointed that Senator Webb was with him. I didn’t see Warner though. He will not appear with him, because he knows that it will hurt his chances for Senator.
#8 itbj2 : It is interesting reading about hypnosis in talking. But the misogynist leftists and their leader Obama are only leading the simple minded, the easily lead. I had an initial bad gut reaction to Obama (which I am sure they would pass off as racist) and it has only intensified. I think most thinking people have the same reaction. There are a lot of undecided people right now. I think they will break for Mc Cain. They will never get over their bad gut feeling to Obama even though they don’t care for McCain.
I don’t think many more people will come out of the wood work for BO. He already has the blind party loyalists and the simple and fearful but they are not enough to carry him over the finish line and BO is not going to develop a respect for real Americans or the experience that is traditionally needed for the job of President in the next few weeks.
seattlegirl..good take on things..you don’t know how much i hope you’re right!!
The trashing of Sarah Palin started with the trashing of Hillary Clinton way back when Bill was running for president.
Let that sink in for a few seconds.
The Clinton detractors decided that it would be OK to trash Hillary in order to get to Bill. For 16 years, they slashed away at her with off color jokes, outright lies, and manipulated half truths. They called her a cold, castrating woman lacking feminity. They made fun of her efforts by making fun of her hair, her clothing, her wrinkles, her shoes, her laugh, and anything else they could think of. They sent out e-mails with a witches broom that had ‘crashed’ saying it was her plane. Of course some of them uses witch as a euphanism for Bitch, but lots of people laughed anyway and hit the forward button again and again and again.
Now comes Sarah Palin. She is a voice from the other side of the aisle. She is all the things they said Hillary was not. So now it is ‘the other side’s’ turn to abash a woman for womanly or unwomanly attributes? Do they feel justified because of all of the unjustified and crude Hillary bashing? Some do.
Involved in this all was a creeping and seeping of gender based gutter trash being spewed and leaked into our society. It is against every housewife, every mother, every working woman, every woman who trys to stand up for or against something.
We must stand up and stand up loudly as a people. The job of every father who has daughters MUST start taking stands against it. Every father who has sons needs to put a strong hand of guidance on the shoulder of his child and make sure the child knows to respect his mother, his sisters, and any other woman who comes into his life.
Every woman who is harassed or otherwise needs to stand up against it and teach her sons and daughters to stand up for what is right.
This is how we change things forever.
#209 osaka puma : I don’t think BO has huge support what he has is the support of the people who control corporate media. I don’t see any mentions of the huge crowds at BOs campaign events. Probably because there no longer are huge crowds. Maybe there were never huge crowds unless they gave away free food or free concerts. BO is a carefully crafted illusion.
Curiously you thought I was singling out you. I wasn’t.
It’s usually the same few people who start the Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton whining that devolves into the tired old piling-on trend. It’s tiresome.
Pumas need to “just get over it”. Instead of whining, criticiing, and blaming HRC for every goddamned thing under the sun, we should be doing something productive to effectively counter the support she is giving to oracialtokenselectee.
Defeating Olyinthief is our immediate goal.
#150Dixie: This Southerner calls you on your initial post and then you attempt in response to flip to another purpose by way of image and metaphor for that post? Do not trifle with me, Dixie. neworleans ..i love to hear you talk..
1. Two weeks till Election Day.
2. Obama up in all polls.
3. Defeating him is a huge challenge because 1) see #2 above, and, 2) McCain must win enough electoral votes to officially win; if neither candidate reaches 270, it goes to the House for a vote and that means it will be Obama.
4. It’s now or never for every single person who is invested in this outcome. I say, focus efforts in swing states whenever and wherever possible. Let all irrelevant distractions go.
5. Back to work…
Seattlegirl:
That negative gut feeling is what they ARE defining as racist! They are trying to convince all of those people who look at him and listen to him and come away saying “something isn’t right” that the something is race.
I have had that feeling in every used car establishment I have ever visited as a customer. I have had it in several church settings. I even had it a time or two in job interviews or when I was interviewing someone for a job. The race of the other person in my conversation was not a factor in that feeling. So I have decided, after much thought, that it was not racism that made me dislike Obama almost instantly.
#174 – NOP – I really regret that you do not welcome a new PUMA. I did not realize that black and white print indicated a “tone” as you put it and I am not here to fight the Civil War again and do not appreciate being browbeaten by a total stranger. My choice of user name was as I stated previously, to denote region of location, nothing more, nothing less. But apparently your rage is more than enough indication that my very presence in not welcome. I have been lurking here for a while now and thought that I could contribute to collectively make a difference. Apparently, I was wrong, so be it…
I agree with you. I was just saying the same thing to my husband the other day. BO has reached his peak as far as who will vote for him. He has no way to go but down from now until Election Day. McCain, however, has room to go up, and I think that is what is happening. I agree that many of the undecideds will break for McCain.
In addition, I think that BO is already starting to break under this pressure. He has not closed the deal, and I think it is too late for him to do so. He is going to start slipping up. His condescending remarks about Joe the Plumber are an example. His NPD cannot handle the notion that he is not “the chosen one” and that McCain may win this thing.
#213 Henerietta : Yes respect for women must be put back into our society. Real misogyny must become as unacceptable as imaginary racism now is. Women need to insure this and men need to insure it too. But I am beginning to think the people who trade in misogyny only understand violence and power. That may be the final language women will need to use to communicate with them. It is sad but I am beginning to think accepting misogyny in society or violently opposing it are the only two choices we have.
I do not get on here much…But let me just say…Lets not fight or argue amongst each other over what Hillary has or is doing. The main issue to get McCain elected and make sure that Obama does not get into the white house. There will be time to discuss Hillary after the elections. We all must stick together at this moment that is so close to the elections. We have to find every possible means of making sure we defeat O. A vote for McCain does not mean we are endorsing him or the republican party it simply means a vote for defeat. I have had my fair share of bad experiences with the O people here in the North Dallas area. I print a lot of material that I get from your website and leave it on cars, doors and malls. I spend a lot of my time spreading the word out. I wish I was rich that I could buy newspaper ads – front page and just let people know more about this guy….But unfortunately I am not rich just an average american who believes in Democracy and freedom. I feel that we are about to loose some of our freedom should O get elected. Our country will be lost…
So please lets leave our comments about Hillary till after the election. Use our energy towards O.
Have a great day…
This mess with Cindy McCain is just the first shot in the move to Hillaryize her. It comes from the Obama campaign. The NYT has become worse than the National Enquirer. They do not deserve the label of credible news source anymore.
It is only when the newspapers start allowing it that MO will be the target. Right now they are not exposing anything to the public about her that would hurt him. The right wing is too busy defending Sarah.
There have been a few things come my way that called her a gorilla. Some have called her angry. Only one showed a picture of her superimposed on a monkey. That could have been seen as both sexist and racist. I deleted it like I delete all deragotary jokes and slander. To send this stuff on, even when I dislike someone, is wrong.
But what is almost never mentioned in the media is that the Iranian people are not allowed to freely elect their presidents or congressmen. Only candidates that are from the ruling circle and proven to be loyal to the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei can run in Iranian elections. They have even codified the pre-vetting process. A committee selected by the Supreme Leader has to approve every candidate for every national election. In the last presidential election over 1000 candidates were rejected and only allowed 4 to run.
what is ironic from the Dem’s is that the are ready to accuse Palin for abusing her power as governor to fire the ex brother in law. But Pelosi uses her power to give her husbands the earmarks he wanted? Now why is that not on the news more…
How’s this for Corruption? – Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home district includes San Francisco.
Star-Kist Tuna’s headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi’s home district. Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi.
Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan work force.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy’s husband, owns $17 million dollars of Del Monte stock.
In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would
not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competitions.
Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an ‘EARMARK’ to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an ‘economic
development credit in American Samoa’. Pelosi has called the Bush Administration ‘corrupt’.
Why does she get a free pass?
She should know.
My point in saying what I did about Hillary is point out that this is NOT just an “Obama” problem. However, what about Brazille? Pelosi? Frank?
what about the “takeover” of the democratic party? Obama’s quick climb to the top of it is only one indication of how the party has been “taken over” and what their goal is of “taking over” America.
***************************************
PLEASE DONT GET MAD AT ME FOR WHAT I AM POSTING
My BO 40plus yr old (non-Hillary) supporting friends have been supporting BO for this exact reason. The “taking over” dem party for America. This is what they want. And they feel ONLY Bo would be able to do this. This IS the change they are looking for. They feel as both Bush and the Clintons have given America a bad reputation. Bush made people hate us and the Clintons made people mock us. (not just cuz of the Monica issue). Even though they loved the Clinton yrs as dems. They were tired of defending them and wanted to be proud to be a dem. They believe Bo is that answer. Sad, I know.
**************************
As for opinions of Hillary, I dont think it takes away from the focus of what we are doing (as long as it doesnt get mean spirited). We are all a little more divided with our efforts as PUMAs since there are many ways to keep BO out. I work with Mc office (they need all the help they can get, not so savvy). Hillary is our GREAT common ground, but the landscape has changed.
The sad part about Hillary (besides the obvious for us, and frustration that comes with it) is those that werent supporting her but came to love her for her fight. They saw a different type of Clinton years ahead, they felt she was for them and them now for her, and would be proud to have her as POTUS. And thus became supporters. But, I am asked, what happened to her all the time. And then they say things like “she isnt a fighter, she is just a politician, I believed she would fight for me, or she IS a Clinton” . NOT MY WORDS, but I hear this a lot. I am sad that if she runs again, she may not get those supporters again. Plus any others that blame her for stepping on bam bams toes during the primary. Some here once told me that ’she doesnt need them’, I dont know if thats true or not.
But what I do know is my days are more negative now. Before I was fighting for someone that inspired me daily. Now I have to be insprired by the ugliness of the BO campaign and all that goes with it.
Can you give us a source for that information? It is a real damming thing if we can prove it.
BO’s response to Joe the Plumber has really sparked Internet discussions regarding socialism.
Based on what you have read – is Obama a Socialist or a Liberal? Or do you accept those who say BO is a Social Democrat (whatever that is)? From what I’ve read Dean, Pelosi & Frank also share a liberal or socialist point of view.
I don’t think either point of view in the White House would be good for the United States today. Both lean too far to the left for me. Having a president with veto power who holds either of these political views makes me very nervous.
I am convinced that BO is trying to hide his true political views & affiliations. After reading more on the Internet, I trust BO even less. He won’t come out and claim his ideology but his record shows he is definitely on a path that is supported by liberals or socialists.
However I don’t think many voters (especially the young college aged voters being recruited by BO’s campaign) really understand the long term implications of a socialist or liberal government.
The case is not being made to the undecided voters very well since mainstream media is seeking to avoid or minimize any political ideology discussion when it comes to BO. Instead they only seek to highlight that McCain & Palin are conservatives.
#251Osaka: DITTO!
Just had a thought about what a game changing October Surprise might be for McCain. Suppose Colin Powell comes out tomorrow and endorses McCain vs. the “expected” endorsement for That One? Wouldn’t that be HUGE? I can’t see in good conscience how Powell could endorse someone who was “against” the war Powell et al. led us into, says our troops are “just bombing innocent civilians in Afganistan”, didn’t believe the surge worked (as every good military man knows it did), wants us to pull out of Iraq with our tail between our legs – nullifying the lives given to fight this war? How could he? Maybe that’s what McCain knows why he’s at ease about his prospect for winning. Just a thought. We’ll know for sure tomorrow if Powell is a true American patriot or a sellout to the messiah!
SUPER SHORT LETTER TO BE USED IN SWING STATES
—————————————————-
Barack Obama has raised an unprecedented amount of money in his campaign. He is running television ads around the clock in swing states.
Like a good salesman, he says what he needs to say to capture the hearts and minds of those listening. But, it doesn’t mean that what he’s saying is right and it doesn’t mean that what he’s saying is true.
American votes cannot be bought. And we know better than to be tricked by a silver-tongued salesman in a fancy suit whose rhetoric soars with promises for those who believe while calling those who dare to question him, racists.
Neither we, nor our democracy, are not up for sale. And we know better than to make a mistake on Election Day that could cost us all our lives.
It must be John McCain in 2008, and no other.
#249 NoHillaryNoVote :
Yes Obama is a socialist. The Democratic party has been taken over by the socailist wing/underbelly. This is why the conspired together to push the centrist Clintons out.
As to why Obama is going after the College students:
1. They are still young and impressionable
2. Some are still in a rebellion, so will vote as an in your face act toward (to use a 60’s word) establishment
3. Some can be convinced to vote in the district or state where they reside and again in the district or state where they go to school
4. College students have energy. They are usually in better health and can withstand the rigors of campaigning better than older folks.
New York Times is just trying to take McCain-Palin off the Joe the Plumber storyline by distracting with this attack trash piece against Cindy McCain. (article titled – Behind McCain, Outsider in Capital Wanting Back In)
I hope John McCain does not fall for the bait. He needs to keep hammering on what BO said to Joe, explain what that says about BO’s plans, and why not good for America. BO supporters can see that McCain is reaching voters as he stays on this topic.
I think the NYT is trying to push McCain into getting angry by going after his wife because they know when McCain displays his anger, his numbers go down with undecided voters.
#247Osaka: And I grew up on and still prefer their Ketchup! Hey..hey hey…
Today I got a letter from Gov. Tim Kaine of VA hitting me up for money to elect governors in 2010.
New Gallup Dailing Tracking Poll of Likely Voters for 10/18/08:
(LV Traditional) BO – 49%; Mc – 47% – unchanged from yesterday.
(LV Expanded) BO – 50%; Mc – 46% – Mc up +1; BO down -1 from yesterday.
TIDE IS CHANGING!!!!
Also, consider the source. The NYT is so in the tank for Obama – everyone knows that. I also think, though, that they just opened up Pandora’s Box, because Obarkey had said that Candidate’s spouses were off limits. Well, guess what? The NYT just changed the game plan. “Whitey Tape” anyone?
P.S. – Margin of Error on all is =/-2 points. I call that DEAD EVEN!
I’ve been reading through these threads, tho haven’t had the time to post. Consider this a “Post and Run” (too much to do, too little time…). Here are some thoughts on what others have been discussing:
Hillary:
During the primary she did come out and say the things that are being said now about BO. She warned that he wasn’t properly vetted, cautioned everyone to really listen to what he was saying, etc. etc. For her honesty, she was ridiculed, branded a racist, kicked down and kicked out. If she remains silent now and takes care of only herself, I can’t say I blame her. She spoke but no one listened and now she’s more or less silenced.
Socialism:
Americans fear socialism with a vengeance partly because we have always seen it side by side with totalitarianism. Capitalism however, isn’t the perfect system either and quite frankly I’m sick of constantly being subjected to such ups and downs in our economy – I’ve lived through them all 1972, 1987, 1998, 2001, and now this. My father was a victim of the great depression which scarred him for life. If our society is well functioning, shouldn’t it be more stable than this? Capitalism left completely unbridled is a return to the law of the jungle. Complete socialism, however doesn’t work either. The best system would be the right blend of these two to make a third which we haven’t figured out yet. BO’s scary because he embodies the repression that is always associated with socialism and he certainly doesn’t have the right blend. He wants to take from the rich and the middle class and give to the poor. His definition of what is middle class is questionable.
Too Little, Too Much Government:
There’s always been this battle about whether we should have less or more government. Once again, we’ve not gotten it right. We have to have some government, why else live in society? Might as well make it on your own. But in our upside down, inside out, backwards America, government intrudes where it doesn’t belong – tells you what to do with your body, but doesn’t intrude where it should – lets people die because they didn’t have enough money for healthcare.
BO has just made this worse and yes, I believe as Mac said in the debate that his policies will engender class warfare. What he and the MSM can’t get through their heads is that Joe the Plumber is us, he’s the majority of Americans.
I hope the tide is turning. If BO gets in, all of us PUMAs will be sentenced to America’s Siberia (aka Alaska) where we will be able to see Russia from our cells!
Out of great adversity comes great change. Whether it is positive or negative, great change comes in times of great distress. New, as yet unheard of, leaders emerge and offer guidance through the confusion and hardship.
PUMA is a movement that holds great promise. We have emerged at a time when many of us didn’t have a political home. We feel alineated against our former party and even against the one we had hoped would lead us. Things were not what we thought they were, people were not what they seemed to be. We feel cheated, abandoned, alone.
Rather than cling to the old, we need to embrace the new. We have to in order to make sure our country is safe and prosperous.
For some, the new will be the Republican party. For most it will not be. They have their baggage too. Their social agenda is not compatable with ours. The Pat Robertsons and the anti-gay, anti-abortion, and much more keeps us on the outside.
That leaves us the only option: Make our own party. If we build it, the new and better leaders will come. Some will come from the other two parties, some will simply come. In time, maybe 20 years, we will be the dominant party. If we work hard, by the next presidential election we will have PUMA party members in the congress. By the end of two presidential cycles (8 years) we might even be able to run someone for president.
If this is our goal, we can accomplish it. We have made a good start. We have no money. We only have our idealism. Maybe that is the best place to be at this time?
#274Kevink: Great limmerick Kevink…I really like it!
KarenWI,
Gallup’s expanded likely voter model, based on respondents’ answers to questions about current interest in the election and intention to vote, shows a 50% to 46% race, which is a more narrow lead for Obama among this group than in previous days. If turnout in this year’s election follows traditional patterns by which the voting electorate skews towards those who usually vote as well as those who are interested in this year’s election, the race shows Obama leading at 49% to 47%, where it has been among this group for three days.
Good afternoon Puma family,
It’s a beautiful day. Let’s work hard to see Sen. McCain as our next POTUS.
Murphy you have mail.
Have a great day and do NOT give up hope.
Thanks!
p.s. Do you know how hard it is to rhyme Senate?
Expanded just means the poll “factors” into account a larger voter turnout than in past elections (more Blacks/Youth). Just Gallup’s way of trying to skew the polling towards the messiah. LOL
So, the reason I haven’t become an Obabot is because I have NEVER been able to listen to him? That his whole body language and speaking style irritates me so much I can’t stand to even look at him?
I believe it.
I also know a couple of people that love the guy and still can’t say why.
Hi everyone!
I just got back from town. I was out and about with Freddie’s flyers. again. I first went to the mall just before it opened. I put flyers on benches, etc throughout the mall. Also, the show is there too, so I went thru the lobby and put flyers on benches there. Everyone goes to the mall on week-ends and alot of people going to the show. So, I have been doing alot of walking here and there.
The other day before I left the mall, a couple of people had already come in just before the stores opened and picked up the flyers I put down. They were really reading them. I added a little something on the back about ACORN. Everyone needs to know about his association with them.
I am going out again either Monday or Tuesday with some more flyers.
Kevink: Not like you do..but you certainly found a wonderful word…there…More..anymore hanging out in that imagination?
POWERFUL LINES
CUT TO THE CHASE
BOTTOM-LINE CLINCHERS
HARD-HITTING POINTS
…
– What are the most powerful, hard-hitting anti-BO lines we can use?
– When we try to convince others and talk or write on the different topics of concern (like Ayers, Wright, Odinga [BO’s radical associations], ACORN, the economy, etc)…
…What are the lines that can really have an impact and make a difference?
** Some people don’t have time for lots of info. AND… sometimes just one or a few powerful lines can do it!
> Example:
I’ve sent friends in swing states links to good articles… or pasted articles (or excerpts) in some of my long, well-composed emails…
But sometimes all the wordiness doesn’t seem to make that much difference. Maybe it’s “information overload” or something.
YET sometimes I’ve written succinctly, and used a few powerful, hard-hitting lines, and I’ve gotten responses like, “You’re right Landi… what you wrote really made me think twice about voting for Obama!”
There’s sometimes that line or two that is THE CLINCHER!
– WHAT ARE SOME THAT YOU’VE FOUND OR USED?
-One that worked for me recently on the Ayers issue:
“How can we elect someone who’s hung out for years with an unrepentant terrorist, to be President and deal with the terrorist-threat we face?
Imagine if McCain had been associated with someone who had bombed abortion clinics… he would have probably been disqualified!”
*** SHARE THE POWERFUL LINES YOU COME UP WITH OR RUN INTO!
And PLEASE make it easy for us to find your post… Use a subject heading on top!
Thank You!!!!!!!!!
I’m listening to a Baden rally in New Mexico and he is using the saying:”…if it walks like a duck…..”,well we can use HIS WORDS and use it in our videos about Obama associations.
That could be use by McCain in his new add. LOL
#241 THANK YOU normapuma for correcting me – he did ask McCain if Palin could come on his show and he said that he would work on it….so sounded like he worked on it quickly to me – had no reason to doubt it….
They are showing that BHO is leading by 10 points in Virginia right now. I don’t believe that.
Hey…Henrietta…how about that? Classic phony flip, huh? This is a very serious matter…
*********************************
I finallly got around to looking at the article in the Times(http://washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/18/whistleblower-hits-obama-friends-appraisal/).
I sent both the link and a copy of the article to my sister who is a loss mitigation underwriter at FHA. She is one of the people who are sometimes called upon to assist in the investigation of fraud in FHA cases.
My read on this is that at the very least, the bank used very poor loan policy to make this loan. It would appear that the reviewer they had on staff was not listened to in this instance regards to the money they were about to lend. I do know that there are many ways to be incorrect on an appraisal. There are some appraisers who believe you MUST decrease the purchase price of a property or you are not doing your job. Underwriters and reviewers sometimes take that same tack. Others never reduce the sales price.
Statistics show that properties will sell within a + or – range of 4 or 5% on the average. That gives an 8-10% margin or error that is acceptable in court. In this instance the reviewer felt there was over 20% of the value estimate in error. That is substantial enough to warrant a second appraisal, or even a third, from an outside source. I don’t know if this was done, but it may have been.
If this lender made a habit of DISCRIMINATING against one class of buyers by using appraisals as their means, HUD could be come involved, regardless of whether or not the loan was guaranteed by FHA.
One way or another, it may very well have been bad loan policy or outright fraud.
Biden ups
Ok, this one’s more of a stretch:
NBC aims their heavy artillery
At foes of Barack, they constantly pillory
If not for the press
We wouldn’t be in this mess
Oh we should have just voted for Hillary!
We need to send an urgent email to Saturday Night Life to tell them that millions of us who are Democrats are watching and we would not appreciate any sexist remarks about Palin. Anything less than professional and fair will cause a backlash . We will boycott and their advertisers will know the reason. We are ready and willing.
I TOTALLY AGREE with you, Freddie!!!
We need to do the equivalent of what we did about Gwen Ifill and the 2nd Presidential Debate.
They need to know, “WE’RE WATCHING THEM AND WE HAVE CLAWS!!!”
I truly believe the 2nd debate would have been a very different cat if it hadn’t been for the prowls, FOX and the chatter in the blogosphere.
I have met you, but – you are right – you haven’t met me. I am a longtime lurker, am around since the very birth of this website at the end of the primaries along with Hillary’s forced and tragic decline. As for me: may she rise again.
BTW, socialism is on the decline since decades in many European countries; Take Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, even Germany!
Keep the good work up PUMAs!
He’s not. Mason-Dixon poll has McCain up in Virginia by 3 points, and it has been steady at that rate. Some of these pollsters are really trying to give BO a bump in some of these states.
#309 BrooklynNY – before I mess up again. please post the email address for Saturday Night Life. I emailed it to cbsmailbag@aol.com I don’t know if this is the best email.
I was skeptical if we were able to do anything with Gwen Ifil during the second debate but was amazed that the media all started talking about it 24 hours before the debate. I thought WoW – how cool that we have a hand in this…
So PLEASE – Pumas, Hollywood, or NYwood cannot make Sarah Palin look bad today. It will have a bearing on voter outlook. We must call or email.
It is on tonight…
Wonder why there are no blacks in Obama’s back during his speeches. There are only whites.
IMHO, I doubt it now that McCain will want Palin to go on Letterman’s show after the way he treated McCain and after the way he kept hounding McCain about Palin. McCain won’t want her exposed to that nonsense.
pretty view posted.
take it upstairs!
Letter to Berg
I sent Philip Berg an email reminding him that Condoleeza Rice had, at one time, looked at nobo’s security file and reminded him that she would know what is in his file. The question is whether it was before or after others had “looked” at his file. I suggested maybe no one had asked her the basic question as to what she saw and knows.
Thanks Ex-Dem
BTW,
RE: David Letterman.
I’ve heard through the grapevine that what really pissed Dave off about McCain was that he canceled a scheduled appearance on Dave’s show at the very last minute because of the financial crisis, when he suspended his campaign and went back to Washington.
Dave was fuming about that. He had to scramble up a last minute replacement….
Dave’s been known to be a petty, vindictive mercilessly cruel attack-dog in the past (though he’s mellowed out considerably in his old age and after the birth of his little son).
BUT BOTTOM LINE:
I think what motivated Dave’s brutal interview on McCain was he was selfishlessly punishing McCain for personal reasons.
That’s all fine and dandy, EXCEPT
WHEN AN ELECTION IS AT STAKE. Then it’s just downright sleasy and irresponsible.
GET A LIFE DAVE.
Maybe some letters to the editor in local papers all over and an official prowl to Dave and CBS? Maybe some phonecalls too? To CBS execs, sponsors?
SUGGESTION :
If you are handing flyers and talking to people about ACORN or Puma Pac,,, do bring along a pad of post its… take one from the office..:) It is useful for writing out
ACORN or any websites or blogs… that way people can stick it on their whatevers and not forget about it.
HALF the US it seems has not heard of ACORN or BILL AYERS. I kid you not. It is a nice day, go out and chat with people if you have time… anyone is a potential
game changer as they say.
Letterman said he was not identified with any party? HAHA. Guess he thinks everyone is an idiot also. His interview was disrespectful and pointless. I thought he was a paid surrogate for Bozo after watching it. He acted like a pyscho going after Palin. So weird how the Bots think Palin is unqualified while never thinking about their chosen one’s lack of experience. The hypocrisy of Bots is disgusting and unparalleled.
293 GoHillaryGo Is it okay if I post this elsewhere? I already posted it twice, but I wanted your reassurance!! Thank you
Great idea, Freddie. I will attach post-its with ACORN written on them to my remaining flyers!
Mailed a big batch to a friend in Upstate NY and another in FL (who lives in a senior residence and actively belongs to a local church).
asking both of them to spread the word far and wide.
Been stealth stuffing magazines (LOL)….This is NYC. I’m a little paranoid about doing it in the open. Don’t want some crazy man attacking me with his umbrella!
I just can’t resist stuffing some in Oprah’s mags…. though I doubt that will actually sway any Oprah fans (but you never do know). I’ve been mostly sticking to mags related to business, economy, hard news, entrepreneurship, etc. Figure that’s a riper audience for our message.
#323 Sisterluck
Letterman was just pissed off that he got “stood up” by McCain. He’s like a vindictive, scorned lover when he gets “rejected.”
McCain backed out at the last minute from a scheduled appearance on Dave’s show. Dave took it out on McCain and Palin first chance he got. The hell with elections. Dave was getting Dave’s rocks off. In his nitpicky, ornery, sadistic, sucker-punching kind of way.
I am really growing weary of Obama’s and Biden’s feigned indignation on the subject of people questioning their patriotism. Biden just came out mocking those who would dare to raise the issue.
Well, I for one DO question their patriotism. And I believe there is more than ample evidence to support those concerns.
After 9/11, Obama lamented that we should focus more on why that tragedy occurred than on the event itself. Obama’s musings led him to offer his belief that the US’s lack of sensitivity to the needs of terrorists was a driving force behind this heinous act. Biden’s reaction was more mercenary – in response to the attacks on the ATC and the Pentagon, Biden proposed to offer Iran $200 million with no strings attached to show Iran there were no hard feelings.
At this year’s 9/11 memorial, Obama looked decidedly uncomfortable, and while McCain respectfully and reverently placed his rose on the memorial pool at ground zero, Obama tossed his from 3 point range. And while we are still ion the subject of this year’s commemoration of 9/11, Michelle Obama was a no show. Her excuse was that her children were in school, yet she had time the day before to attend campaign events in Ohio and Indiana away from her children and events in the days following the memorial. The same Michelle Obama that has no pride in her Country; the same Michelle Obama who has derided the US as a “mean” nation.
And the same Michelle Obama, who with her husband, Barak, sat through over 20 years of hateful and racist screeds of Jeremiah Wright. The Jeremiah Wright who has damned America on many an occasion; who has accused the US government of creating the AIDS virus to kill the black population in the US; who believes the government distributes drugs in minority neighborhoods; and who characterized 9/11 as righteous retribution for the acts of the US.
I suppose in Obama and Biden’s world it is patriotic to associate with the likes of William Ayers, a despicable and seditious domestic enemy of the US whose major lament in life is not planting more bombs to kill more US citizens. Or to embrace the likes of Louis Farrakhan, whose hatred of whites, Jews and the US has been very public. Convicted felons, black supremacists, Islamic radicals – all de rigueur.
Their form of Patriotism not only ignores the US Constitution – it tramples it with impunity. That most precious right to vote is nothing more than a means to be manipulated and stolen for their ends. A patriotism that has as its mantra, demand all that your country can do for you, not what you can do for your country.
It must be patriotic to work to destroy the US Constitution and replace it with a more fitting “modern day” paradigm based on the Communist Manifesto. A form of patriotism that deeply buries the thoughts, works and principles of our founding fathers and replaces them with the guidance provided by Marx, Mao and Alinsky, with selected input from other infamous socialists like Hitler and Mussolini.
It is safe to say that the Obama/Biden definition of patriotism is the polar opposite of mine. I swore an Oath upon receiving my commission in the US Army to defend the Constitution of the US against all enemies – foreign and domestic. Not to defend ushering in a new world order, or to defend a government that turned the bedrock of the US Constitution into dust and replaced it with a new keystone designed to form the foundation of a new order.
I recognize that my country has its faults, but I do love it just the same. I have not and do not associate with anyone who has advocated the destruction of the US or its government, through any means. I have not sat in a house of worship that preached racial animus or hatred of the United States. I have not been associated with any group that advocated or pursued the theft of Constitutional rights. And I have never worked with or associated with any group bent on the obliteration of our Constitution. To me, people that pursue such courses are NOT patriotic – they are seditious.
So, I suppose Obama and Biden can continue to express indignation, for I will continue to question their patriotism. For to me, the live in a world that is the antithesis of patriotism, and pursue and embrace people who are the polar opposites of patriots. From my vantage point, the only “love” they have for this country is in what they can reap from its bounty, using our freedoms to sew the seeds of a new crop that will choke and cause the Constitution to wither and die.
Let’s all question their patriotism in November by sending Obama and Biden packing.
Good Afternoon Pumas. Am still trying to catch up reading the blog. I’m at #5 itbj2 I’ve read at least 15 pages of that article. It’s very chilling and yes, Freddie, and everyone else should read it. What it tells me that the people who are listening to Obama are actually being hypnotized and can’t help themselves, just like when Jim Jones led everyone to drink the kool-aid. Same thing. It also tells me that we PUMAs would never fall for that as we can see thru the hypocricy. I’m saving that to my files so I can read the rest later. When I saved that, I found Michelle Obama’s thesis in that folder. Didn’t really know where I had saved it.
John McCain Leads in Latest Florida Poll
John McCain- 49%
Barack Obama- 47%
Survey USA, a prominent national polling firm, shows John McCain leading Senator Barack Obama in the state of Florida. The Survey USA Florida poll was conducted after the final presidential debate on Thursday October 16th.
Tampa Tribune Endorses John McCain for President
“McCain brings a lifetime of useful experience, including his grueling captivity in Vietnam and long Senate service. He believes in federalism, a strong defense and disciplined self-interest. McCain has been willing to cross party lines to work on tough problems. He co-authored a campaign finance law that failed to fulfill its objective, but he did muster the bipartisan support needed to try to control the buying and selling of public office.”
Uncertain Times Require McCain’s Tested Vigilance
Editorial
Tampa Tribune
October 17, 2008
The direction of the nation is at stake in this election. Hard economic times, a disappointing Republican administration and the seductive promises of a master orator are pushing America toward a European-style social democracy.
If you don’t want that to happen, vote for Republican Sen. John McCain. First, it must be acknowledged that Democratic Sen. Barack Obama gets a lot of things right, especially when emphasizing what has gone wrong. Studiously unflappable, he is the most inspirational campaigner in memory. McCain, too, has many ideas for improvement, but his ch anges build on what has worked in the past to make our nation the strongest in the world.
McCain understands that U.S. companies must compete worldwide and shouldn’t have to pay one of the world’s highest corporate tax rates. He knows that federal spending is out of control. He knows that economic growth only comes from hard work and real investment, not through wholesale redistribution of tax dollars as Obama promises.
Obama became a political celebrity by representing the disaffected. He is generating unprecedented enthusiasm among the young and the poor, and their participation is welcome. Yet mainstream voters need to understand that the change these voters want will have historic consequences. Obama’s future America is largely unrestrained by many of the traditional values long held by Middle America.
Obama promises a tax cut for 95 percent of households, even though only 62 percent of households pay any income tax now. Taxes would increase sharply for households making more than $250,000 a year a policy that penalizes success. Profitable small businesses would be hardest hit. Obama even has the audacity to promise a tax break for businesses that create jobs, while simultaneously increasing taxes that would force some businesses to cut payrolls.
Last year, Obama had the most liberal voting record in the Senate. If elected, he would appoint activist judges capable of finding liberal surprises in the Constitution. He would push for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. He would agree to new barriers to trade, which would raise consumer prices.
We urge voters, especially independents and moderate Democrats, to think about where the candidates and their parties are coming from, where they want to go and who the candidates really are.
Obama is a lawyer, a professor, a best-selling author and a winning debater. He is smart and patriotic, but as a leader on the national stage, mostly untested. His short tenur e in the Senate has been unremarkable, other than being consistently partisan.
McCain brings a lifetime of useful experience, including his grueling captivity in Vietnam and long Senate service. He believes in federalism, a strong defense and disciplined self-interest.
McCain has been willing to cross party lines to work on tough problems. He co-authored a campaign finance law that failed to fulfill its objective, but he did muster the bipartisan support needed to try to control the buying and selling of public office.
He is more open-minded on energy reforms than Bush has been. He has an independent nature and passion for public service. He spoke out against torture and strongly criticized Bush’s first defense secretary for resisting the surge of troops McCain knew Iraq needed for peace to have a chance.
McCain’s biggest challenge is that after eight years of the Bush White House, it’s hard to say his party still believes in smaller government. He ha s run an uneven campaign, facing an unfair share of blame for budget deficits, feeble economic growth, costly military interventions, uncontrolled immigration, emergency bailouts of misled corporations, and a diminished world opinion of America.
Yet the record shows blunt-talking McCain would begin to return his party, and the nation, to a more conservative, compassionate and productive path. He is not the candidate preferred in much of Europe and the Middle East, but he would keep us safe and begin to repair America’s image worldwide.
A few states could make the difference in this election. Florida is likely to be one, and Tampa Bay will be a key battleground. The McCain-Obama race is a choice that divides families, friendships and even editorial boards.
Obama’s vision of hope shines like a rainbow, appealing but just out of reach. McCain’s call to freedom and responsibility is less exciting, but you know it works.
The Tribune encourages voters to vo te what they believe, not what they wish were true. The nation needs a stable leader in these unpredictable times.
For president, the Tribune endorses Sen. John McCain.
(HONOLULU, HI)(October 17, 2008) Obama nemesis and author Andy Martin filed suit in the First Circuit Court in Honolulu today seeking a court order to open Barack Obama’s secret birth records.
“One of Obama’s most controversial and contentious issues that he has allowed to fester for years is the question of his birth certificate,” says Martin. “Obama has posted at least two versions, maybe more, of a ‘certificate’ on the Internet.
“I want to see a certified copy issued by the State of Hawaii, not one issued by the State of Obama. Why Obama won’t allow direct access to his birth records is beyond me. But the closer we get to discovering the truth about Obama the more we understand why he is terrified of that truth.
“What is Obama hiding? Frankly, after being in Hawaii and conducting our first round of interviews, we think we have a clearer picture of what Obama is concealing, and why. We have more research and interviews to conduct before we can announce our opinions.
“In the meantime, I filed a lawsuit against the State of Hawaii to require the state to open Obama’s birth records. The Governor and Director of the Department of Health are named as defendants.
“The case has been docketed as number 08-1-2147-10 and assigned to Circuit Judge Bert Ayabe.
“We will distribute copies of the lawsuit at a Saturday morning news conference, as well as making them available on a limited basis Friday evening upon written request. We will hold the Saturday morning news conference in front of the courthouse to provide additional information.
“Friday evening I will be available by cell phone from AlaMoanaBeachPark.
“We will issue a news release later Friday with details of Saturday’s news conference.
“The basic question remains: why is Obama trying to hide his life from birth to adulthood from the American people? Interestingly, we think we also know now why he has virtually imprisoned his white grandmother and refuses to allow her to appear in public. Who is the man behind Obama’s mask? I think my book ‘Obama: The Man Behind The Mask’ is aptly titled.
“Next week, we believe we will be in a position to remove Obama’s mask and confront him with the truth about who he is and what he is.
“One TV news network has already tentatively scheduled a conference in New York on our return.”
“Property is the fruit of labor…property is desirable…is a positive good in
the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich,
and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who
is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and
build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe
from violence when built.”
