Hi Murphy,
I’ve been a lurker the past month or so. I am not a member and not as brave as your members to even sign on. I just wanted to comment on a post tonight. The writer was wondering if others are getting scared of BO in the WH. I can tell, you everyone I know, friends and coworkers are very scared now that the mask has slipped and they were informed to go looking on the internet. I’ve lurked and read many blogs, most posters there are getting scared as well. You may not know it but people are indeed flipping left and right from Obama-those that are not complete Koolaid drinkers. Fear of this man, his violent and dangerous radical ties that continue to mount, trump any and everything else.
I’m in a blue state and have turned 5 coworkers to vote for McCain so far. None of them knew any of this stuff becasue it was not in the MSM. I feel for this guy Joe-being villified but it is a huge eye opener to people – both the conversation with BO and them ripping him apart for daring to disagree with him. The ACORN thing is a huge eye opener too. It has finally made a lot of on the fencers question everything BO has lied about and they go looking on the net. Nobama thinks we that have internet access are stupid enough not to go looking. It is those that don’t have it and get their only info. From the MSM don’t know the “real” Nobama. I just wanted to let you and your posters know they are far from alone. Many, many people lurk here and more with each passing day. You ladies(and gentlemen) are making a huge difference. Kudo’s to you all and keep it up!!!!!! Us lurkers may not be as brave or vocal as you but we are fighting the fight-informing the uniformed and changing votes to McCain whenever and wherever we can-in our own small way.
Folks, enough. Enough name calling and back biting. Enough bitterness and hopelessness. Most of all, enough PANIC!!! We are all still here, together, fighting for the same outcome. We’ll be together on November 4th, and we’ll be here together on November 5th. No matter what.

This should not be the case in the United States of America. Identification must be a central requirement to registering and to voting. After-the-fact investigations into fraud are too little too late if the wrong person has been elected to office because of fraud.
I urge you to pass a new law that will provide greater protections to all voters so that we can feel better assured that our elections are fair, honest and legitimate.

John McCain’s peace summit visit to CBS’ “Late Show” gave David Letterman his highest viewership in nearly three years.
The Thursday night telecast was seen by 6.5 million viewers, and received a 1.7 rating in the adult demo. That’s the largest audience for the show since December, 2005, when Oprah Winfrey appeared. “Late Show” also topped Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” (4.6 million viewers) by 43%, and Leno had Joe Biden as a guest.

Whatever happened to wontbackdown? I have been thinking all day about the discussion spured by wbd’s post this morning.
Maybe, just maybe, we should all think about how to answer people who get hooked like wbd did with the ends justify the means bit, or the ‘We had to do it because the republicans are and were so bad.’
The ends justify the means is easy to debunk. You don’t every destroy democracy to save your party. Democracy, including the right to one person, one vote is paramount in our nations blood. This is the one line you do not cross.
The other one is not so easy. The premise behind this is to excuse your bad behavior because the ultimate opponent (the republican party) has been sooooooo bad that they MADE US (democrats) do it! This puts the blame and the punishment for Obama and for the Democratic Party’s bad deeds on the back of John McCain, while completely exonerating Obama and company!
We need to discuss a strategy on how to combat this. I believe we could turn the whole country around if we could figure this one out.

Voter fraud has been getting much attention this election cycle, as ACORN and its members fall under scrutiny. In the meantime, Ohio’s secretary of state Jennifer Brunner has defied election law . The AP explains:
Brunner previously cross-checked new-voter registrations with databases run by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle and the Social Security Administration and made the results available online, but the 6th Circuit said the information was not accessible in a way that would help county election boards ferret out mismatches.
Brunner, a Democrat, told The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer on Wednesday that she is concerned the court decision is a veiled attempt at disenfranchising voters. Brunner said she’ll urge counties not to force these people to use provisional ballots.
The court gave Brunner until Friday to get election boards the information but it was unclear whether that deadline would be met. The court set no penalty for missing the deadline.
County election officials were trying to determine Wednesday how they will respond once they get the information.
“I’m very concerned with these new requirements as we get closer to Election Day,” said Steve Harsman, director of the Montgomery County Board of Elections in Dayton. He said his staff already is working 16 hours a day, seven days a week.
The state GOP took Brunner to court over this issue. The case eventually reached the Ohio State Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of the state GOP. Brunner has appealed her case to the U.S. Supreme Court, which has tossed out the state court’s ruling and issued a stay.
George W. Bush won Ohio in 2004 by 118,457 votes, so it is not surprising that democrats like Brunner are trying their hardest to obstruct the GOP from making her do the job she is supposed to do. 200, 000 new Ohio voter registrations may have mismatched data. About 666,000 Ohioans have registered to vote since January.
Daniel Hemel of Scarsdale, New York has the same “catch me if you can” attitude as Brunner. Hemel, a graduate of Harvard University tells Fox News Channel’s sister network Palestra.net why he can “legally” vote in Ohio, even though he is not really a resident of the state.
Democrats seem to be silent on instances like Hemel, Brunner, and further ACORN cases which continue to turn up. However, if Obama is as far ahead as the Democrats are reporting, why would people like Hemel and Brunner openly buck the system in the first place?

I used to live near Mills College. Simofish lives in East Bay. I could send an email to her. What exactly do you want/need her to do?
Before you jump on me, I’m trying to look at the positive side of this Ohio debacle. Before the GOP and others (PUMA, etc.) got involved, not many people knew there was widespread voter fraud in Ohio via ACORN. NOW, I would bet that most people in Ohio are aware of Brunner’s tricks and that she is a Democrat. In my opinion, that doesn’t speak well for BO and the Democrats in Ohio. I also think that it is going to make more people angry and want to get involved to fight the fraud in the state, including on election day. It may also make people who were on the fence or who weren’t going to vote come out and vote out of fear of a BO win in the state. There may be some good that comes out of this after all. BTW, these legal actions have to be costing the GOP some bucks.

HAHA this afternoon my exboss who was once my colleague in the distant past, came over and started in “hehe you’ll love this, that Joe the plumber guy, well, he does not even have a plumbers license, and guess who he is related to… this guy was a plant…” he got no further because I started yelling, “that’s !bullshit!, they are vetting Joe the plumber when they won’t even vett that marxist prick!!! and its total bullshit” and he say “the guy was a total plant” and I said “he was not, Obama was on HIS street, in HIS neighborhood canvassing” anyway, we went back and forth like that for a while while everybody was sitting around wide eyed and quiet, then he says “well, you mean he was on the guys yard? I need to go look into that” and as he passed my bosses office my boss tells him, “hey, I want to know what you did to piss her off” heheh Like I said previously, I am high strung and everyone except my ex-boss knows better than to try and stir up shit with me. When he was my boss we would scream at each other until we were in tears both of us. But we are actually friends and he knows I despise That One, so he has to come and try to stir that shit up.

The SC granted Brunner’s request on the grounds that the Ohio GOP has no standing to file suit to enforce the provision of the law at issue. Well that maybe so but … the DOJ does have standing to bring suit.

There is always an upside. Personally, I am happy they got caught. And I am happy they work for The Democratic Nominee (tdn). When I was telling everyone about the cheating in the caucuses and the primaries, some of my friends quit being my friends and called me a liar, a racist, and worse. In light of all of this, I feel exonerated. More than that, it shows Obama to be the crook and liar that he is.

I have been reading posts from downstairs for the last hour. I am of the opinion that both McCain and O are socialists, just to different degrees. It is because of that fact that I would like to see a strong third party emerge after this election is over and challenge the incumbent, no matter who it is, in the 2012 election. We might be able to recruit Hillary as our candidate, and if not, I’m confident we could find someone who is willing to stand up against the socialist state, stand up for individual liberty, and end America’s current doctrine of aggression to secure resources.

NEW YORK – Former members of Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party have told WND when Democratic presidential candidateBarack Obama visited Kenya on a “fact-finding” trip in 2006, he was carrying out part of a secret election strategy that also included exploiting divisive tribal tensions and ultimately taking advantage of rioting that left 1,000 dead.
The strategy document outlining the campaign earlier was referenced in “The Obama Nation” but could not be fully authenticated at the time of publication.
Now, however, research conducted in Kenya by WND has confirmed the authenticity of the strategy memo, which was prepared by a five-person Odinga “core strategy team” led by Peter A. Nyongo, the secretary general of Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party, with the assistance of four key Odinga ODM strategists, including Odinga speechwriter Adams Oloo.
It was reported to have been smuggled out of ODM offices by Christian former-ODM officials.
WND’s sources in Kenya included several top ex-ODM officials who played key roles in Odinga’s 2007 presidential campaign, only to turn on Odinga when the candidate’s memorandum of understanding with Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, the chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, proved to be real.
In that Aug. 27, 2007, document, Odinga promises within six months of becoming president he would “rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared religions.”

The former ODM sources in Kenya supported the authenticity of the campaign strategy by noting Odinga did conduct a campaign against President Mwai Kibaki by charging his administration with corruption, advancing anti-Kibaki sentiments aimed at inciting Kenyan youth to vote for Odinga and ultimately calling for protest by Odinga’s fellow Luo tribal members. Kibaki is of the majority Kikuyu tribe.
The “protests” turned violent, and in January and February a brutal wave of Odinga-supporting, machete-wielding Luo mobs killed an estimated 1,000 members of the Kikuyu tribe, displaced over 350,000 Kenyans from their homes and destroyed some 800 Christian churches, all without a single mosque being damaged.
The sources reported Odinga simply was following the script his policy strategists laid out for him in the Nyongo strategy document.

Obama’s involvement amounted to a coordination with Odinga on the campaign, according to the sources.
The general tone of the strategy was to encourage the Odinga campaign to claim to be leading in the presidential race regardless of the actual numbers and be prepared to proclaim victory even if Odinga lost.
The officials poll results showed he lost to the incumbent by about 250,000 votes.
The plan called for “opportunities” for Odinga to pursue, including efforts to “exploit anti-Kikuyu statements,” with a determination to “leverage the vulnerability of the Kibaki administration responses to corruption” and confront Kibaki with “a powerful anti-corruption message.”
The final strategy the document calls for is exploiting ethnic tensions and using “violence as a last resort” to gain power. Among the 1,000 killed, reports say, were several dozen women and children who died when the Christian church in which they had sought refuge from marauding Muslim gangs was burned down around them.
The ex-ODM sources said Odinga followed the strategy script exactly, including his ultimate use of tribal conflict to gain power.
While Odinga never had explicitly demanded violence, the former ODM sources said Odinga used “code language” to his Luo backers to convey the instructions to burn Kikuyu homes, rape women and kill men.
Obama’s part in the strategy was to openly attack the Kibaki administration in meetings where Odinga was in a very public attendance at Obama’s side, the sources said.
WND previously reported a news report by a Chicago WBBM-TV news team of Obama’s 2006 trip to Kenya. The report showed the senator undermining the Kibaki government in a speech delivered to the editorial staff at the Nairobi offices of the Standard, a prominent Nairobi newspaper, and at a separate appearance in which Obama delivered a public speech at Nairobi University of Nairobi, two hours after the appearance at the Standard.
The ex-ODM sources argued Obama and Odinga together were implementing in a coordinated fashion the strategy the Nyongo-led policy advisers had crafted in the internal strategy document.
The two politicians remained in touch through that time period, as WND also has published a report referencing a copy of a private Dec. 22, 2006, e-mail in which Obama personally informed Odinga that “all our correspondence [be] handled by Mr. Mark Lippert.”
Lippert, at that time, was serving as a foreign policy advisor in Obama’s U.S. Senate office in Washington, D.C.
The Washington Times also reported Odinga visited Obama during three trips the Kenyan politician made to the U.S. in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The Times also reported Obama sent his Senate office foreign policy adviser, Lippert, to Kenya in early 2006 to coordinate and arrange for Obama’s Senate “fact-finding” visit to Kenya later that year.
As further evidence that Obama and Odinga were coordinating to implement the campaign strategy outlined in the Nyongo-authored document, the ex-ODM sources in Kenya argued that Obama maintained almost daily cell phone contact with Odinga as the post-election tribal violence was unfolding in Kenya, even as Obama was campaigning in the final days of the New Hampshire Democratic Party primary, as has been reported by the BBC.
The ex-ODM sources said Obama worked after the election with former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to argue a position should be created to allow Odinga to share head of state as a compromise to end the violence.
The ex-ODM sources said during the post-election violence Obama did not call on Odinga to drop his charges of voter fraud or to withdraw completely from his efforts to become head of state as a strategy to calm his Luo tribe supporters and bring a halt to the violence.
WND confirmed in Kenya that at one point Annan and Rice actually pressured Kenyan Vice President Kolonzo to step down from his position to bring the Luo-mob protest violence to an end by appointing Odinga vice president so he could assume the nation’s second highest political office.
When Kolonzo refused to step down, Annan and Rice proposed the Odinga-inspired plan to appoint him as prime minister, effectively allowing Odinga to share the head-of-state position with Kibaki, a solution that was adopted.

WND also reported on the authenticity of an Odinga campaign internal finance memorandum documenting that Obama arranged for Odinga to receive in his U.S. trips nearly $1 million in campaign contributions from Obama fund-raisers and donors to assist Odinga in his 2007 presidential campaign in Africa.
The finance memo, prepared by Shakeel Shabbir, the head of Odinga’s campaign finance accounting section, also detailed that among the 72 individuals and organizations that contributed money to Odinga’s 2007 presidential run in Kenya was Saif el-Islam Gadhafi, the second oldest sun of Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi, who also was listed as contributing nearly $1 million to Odinga’s campaign.
The Shabbir document lists the Obama-generated campaign contributions from the U.S. as having been donated by “Friends of Senator B.O.”
Obama’s campaign “Fight the Smears” website and a posting by Ben Smith at Politico.com have questioned the authenticity of the Obama-to-Odinga Dec. 22, 2006, e-mail by arguing the e-mails “appear not to have been written by a native English speaker,” without addressing a second similar e-mail WND published, that should not occasion any linguistic quibbles.
Moreover, neither “Fight the Smears” nor the Smith posting disputed the substantive point made in the e-mails, namely that Lippert served to coordinate between Obama and Odinga while Lippert held a staff position in Obama’s U.S. Senate office in Washington.
WND was unable to get a response from Obama with calls to his Washington office and Chicago campaign headquarters.

I do what I can to help. “Be here now. Do what is in front of you.” After I posted my last comment I actually opened my gmail acct. to send an email to the Attorney General asking him to enforce compliance of HAVA, not just for Ohio, but in all states where it has been documented that there are registration irregularities. In the future, don’t boss me around like I am your flunky. Asking politely is the civilized thing to do. If I want to post my thoughts on a different topic than the one being discussed I will. A couple of things.
**While working out in the gym this AM an AA guy was on the bike rattling to several people around us about the financial crisis and how he couldn’t wait for BO to get in the white house and he was going to save us all… I was vying for a place to jump into the conversation with some good talking points when he said, “yeah, obama gonna paint the white house black and put a BarBQ pit in the back yard… then we all gonna be alright! I was livid — At Obama for hoodwinking honest hard working African Americans into thinking he’s actually “one of them” (highly disputable) and he’s actually looking out for their best interest. I was angry at this guy for not looking into the issues, he’s just “voting for a black man” (and they call me a racist!), and at the elitist liberals and the MSM for playing the shell game with something as sacred as American freedom! I held my tongue because I didn’t want to start trouble, but left some of Freddie’s flyers in prominent places.
**I wandered upon a crime scene later today and a guy was injured (but will be fine) One thing happened though that was really encouraging. When emergency crews arrived and I was ready to leave, the EMTs directing traffic stopped me to tell me they liked my “Democrats for McCain” and “Sarah the riveter – We Can Do It” bumper stickers, I gave them a thumbs up and looked back. All the rest of the emergency crews there were giving me thumbs up as well. WE ARE GOING TO WIN… I can feel it in the air!
**Also this was the day of my hubby’s surgery. The lobby was still blasting CNN “as per Dr’s orders” but today it was mostly about McCain. I saw McCain’s whole (awesome) speech from the charity dinner last night and a whole fiery speech from McCain today. So CNN was bearable…. and I peppered the lobby, restrooms and magazines with plenty of Freddie’s flyers, just as planned.

I had a great call from Steven Marquis today, we have consent to use his suit as template with local modification as needed. I will ask anyone that is willing to use that to hold filing until Tuesday for document review; there are referenced documents that need to be gathered in the event they are requested.
To date, we know there are petitions filed in WA and UT. We have petitions pending in CA and FL. We need MORE states, especially the big ones. Please, recruit as many friends as possible from as many states as possible. Tell them they are asking their elected officials to do their job of verifying a candidate for president.

His win was self-declared, but that assessment was enthusiastically seconded by the partisans who greeted him and his wife, Cindy, in their second visit to the crucial region in three days. With the senator’s mother, Roberta McCain, and his friend, Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent, they walked on stage to the theme from the “Rocky” movie and the cheers of a crowd waving signs and snapping cell-phone photos.
“My friends, we had a good debate last night. I thought I did pretty well,” said Mr. McCain.
“The real winner last night was Joe the plumber,” he added, doing his best to prolong the 15 minutes of fame he had imparted to the Toledo businessman he mentioned repeatedly Wednesday night. “Joe’s the man. He won, and small business won across America, because the American people are not going to let Barack Obama raise your taxes in a tough economy.”
“You know what Senator Obama said to Joe?” Mr. McCain asked his audience, giving his capsule version of last week’s encounter on a post-rally rope line. “[Obama said] he wanted to spread his wealth around. America didn’t become the greatest nation on Earth by spreading the wealth; we became the greatest nation by creating new wealth.”
At that, shouts of “Joe, Joe, Joe” mixed with the crowd’s applause. Another chant erupting intermittently throughout the rally was “No-bam-a, O-bam-a.”
The two candidates, perhaps for the last time in the campaign, were to share a stage again last night at the traditional Al Smith Dinner in New York City.
Mr. McCain also was to test his diplomatic skills last night on the David Letterman show. The senator canceled a prior appearance the week before the first presidential debate — when he suspended, then restarted his campaign as Congress was debating its Wall Street rescue package. The jilted talk-show host has regularly derided the GOP nominee in his monologue ever since.
Beyond his First Plumber references, Mr. McCain’s Downingtown remarks were largely a reprise of the stump speech he debuted Monday in Virginia.
Repeating his implicit declaration of independence from an unpopular fellow Republican president, he said, “We can’t spend the next four years as we have the last eight, waiting for our luck to change.” Revisiting his line from the debate, he added: “I’m not George Bush. If he [Obama] wanted to run against George Bush, he should have run four years ago.”
While defending his mortgage relief proposals, Mr. McCain continued to distance himself from the Bush administration, as he said, “The secretary of the Treasury is not doing enough to help people stay in their homes.”
Echoing Mr. McCain’s positive assessment of his debate performance was Chuck Moore of Paoli, who said, “He went on the offensive, all on the facts.” Mr. Moore said he was drawn to the Republican because “he’s honest,” adding: “I do not believe Senator Obama’s honest. I’m from Chicago originally, and I would not want Chicago politics in the United States.”
Janet Colmery, a Chester County native visiting from her home in Florida, said she favors Mr. McCain because “he has proven that he puts America first. There are just too many unanswered questions about Obama.”
Mr. McCain’s debate appearance was bracketed by two Pennsylvania rallies separated by a short drive. He interrupted debate preparations Tuesday for a stop in Montgomery County. His first post-debate stop was in Chester County, another of the vote-rich ring of communities that are a pivotal battleground in the state. Once securely Republican, they have trended Democratic over the last decade, producing majorities for Gov. Ed Rendell and presidential nominees Al Gore and John Kerry.
“The state of Pennsylvania will decide again who’s the next president of the United States,” Mr. McCain predicted. “I need your vote.”

I forgot to mention this. Obarkey came to the Hampton Roads area a couple of weeks ago. His rally was at a park in the downtown Newport News area. Well, guess what? Obarkey didn’t pay for the rally. All he paid for was for bottled water to be handed out. Now, it is revealed the City of Newport News foot the $30,000 bill for Obarkey to appear. The Mayor is a Democrat. However, the paper also points out that when McCain was in Virginia Beach, VA on Monday, he payed the $20,000 to rent the building where he held his rally. The city did not pay for him to appear. Can you believe this? Obarkey has just spent $13 million in TV advertising in Northern VA last weekend, but he can’t foot $30,000 for a rally? His campaign has made $500 million dollars (how is another story) and he can’t foot the bill? Also, Newport News taxes are getting higher. I’m sure the people are not liking this story – in fact, I know they are not. One of the City Council women said she was outraged that the City foot the bill. It sounds like the city council was not in on this decision. So, this is how he does it. Can you believe this?

I had said months ago on another blog that I thought he had the characteristics of NPD. I also think that he has some sociopath tendencies as well. You are right. He hasn’t been under this kind of pressure before. The spotlight is on him now, and he doesn’t like it. He only likes it when he is being put on a pedestal. It appears that the “Messiah” is being tested and dare I say “vetted.” This is going to show some of the “real” BO. He will try his hardest to hide it though, but it is coming out in bits and pieces.
when Obama visited our area and stopped at one of the restaurants, a waitress called the local radio station and said he left them NOTHING for a tip. They cleared the restaurant just for his visit but the servers were left empty handed.

I think one of the most effective ways is what you’ve already done. As Murphy posted in the letter above, many people we never hear from, read this blog and take the information to the streets. Send the links through emails and post on comment sections of heavy traffic sites.

Voter fraud would be the claim that would be used to distinguish 2000.
And what explains the media’s fascination with ACORN and election fraud?
1. Cable news loves anecdotes and “human interest” stories (think Joe the Plumber) and they love stories of scandal. It is more interesting than covering the differences in the health care proposals of the two candidates.
2. Cable news loves a horserace, and if Sen. Obama is running away with things it is not as interesting to cover as a close race down to the wire.
3. Even responsible news organizations need to cover the story, when the McCain campaign pounds it every day and the FBI leaks word of an investigation to the AP.
We might ask what the harm is of the ACORN hysteria. I’d say the harm is to voter confidence in the political process, something I’ll be tackling in a Findlaw column next week.

Farrakhan Says ‘New Beginning’ For Nation of Islam
CHICAGO (AP) ― The Nation of Islam, a secretive movement generally closed to outsiders, has planned a rare open-to-the public event at its Chicago-based headquarters in what the Minister Louis Farrakhan deemed a “new beginning” for the group.
Hundreds of religious leaders of different faiths have been invited to the event planned for Sunday, a rededication of the group’s historic Mosque Maryam on the city’s South Side. Farrakhan is scheduled to speak.
“We have restored Mosque Maryam completely, and we will dedicate it to the universal message of Islam, and the universal aspect of the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad,” Farrakhan said in an invitation letter. “It represents for the Nation of Islam, a new beginning.”
The event comes just weeks after the death of Imam W.D. Mohammed, the son of Nation founder Elijah Muhammad who broke with the group and moved thousands of African-Americans toward mainstream Islam.
The Nation purchased the mosque, a former Greek Orthodox church, in 1972 and has since been making renovations. The stately 1948 structure, embellished with a golden dome and topped with an Islamic crescent moon, is adorned with Quranic verses in Arabic.
Experts say opening the mosque’s doors to the public is a calculated move.
“It is a very conscious effort to open the mosque up to the community and to rededicate the community to learning about Islam,” said Aminah McCloud, a professor of Islamic studies at DePaul University. “Previously, the Nation has been open to people coming to visit it, but its members don’t generally go anywhere else … now there is a concerted effort.”
While the Nation has espoused black nationalism and self-reliance since it was founded in the 1930s, in recent years members have reached out to other groups. For instance, the Nation has a Latino liaison and has become involved in immigrant rights rallies and marches. Also, the Minister Ishmael Muhammad, a top assisting minister at the mosque and widely thought to be a potential successor to Farrakhan, has talked about unity between all people, at times speaking in Spanish.
Farrakhan, 75, has haltingly tried to move the Nation toward traditional Islam, which considers the American movement heretical because of its view of Elijah Muhammad as a prophet — among other novel teachings. Orthodox Islam teaches that there has been no prophet after Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century.
He’s also played down some of the group’s more controversial beliefs. The Nation of Islam has taught that whites are descended from the devil and that blacks are the chosen people of Allah.
The event on Sunday also wraps up a week of events marking the 13th anniversary of the Million Man March, which Farrakhan began in 1995. That year, hundreds of thousands of people traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate.
On Thursday, Farrakhan spoke to inmates at Cook County jail urging self improvement, atonement and reconciliation, principles the Million Man March promoted.
Those values “can help reduce violence and anti-social behavior … and have universal significance and will benefit those willing to listen,” according to a statement from the Nation.
Farrakhan’s Sunday speech will mark his second major public address this year and is among several smaller community and religious events he has attended.
His public appearances have surprised many since in 2006, he seceded leadership to an executive board while recuperating from serious complications from prostate cancer.
In February, Farrakhan appeared at an annual Saviours’ Day event in Chicago and called Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama the “hope of the entire world” that the U.S. will change for the better. The Obama campaign quickly denounced Farrakhan’s support, because of past comments about Jews that many have called offensive.
In the past months, Farrakhan has attended funeral services of W.D. Mohammed and Jabir Herbert Muhammad, both sons of the late Elijah Muhammad.

The normally staid former U.S. secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff performed an impromptu hip-hop dance alongside well-known rap stars Tuesday following a speech at a festival in London celebrating African-American music and fashion.

Powell — who has yet to back a candidate — told the audience: “I stand before you as an African-American. Many people have said to me you became secretary of state of the USA, is it still necessary to say that you are an African American or that you are black? And I say yes, so that we can remind our children.”
“It took a lot of people struggling to bring me to this point in history,” Powell told the audience. “I didn’t just drop out of the sky. People came from my continent in chains.”
Powell has said in the past that he has been hesitant to make an endorsement until he hears more from both candidates.
Political pundits have speculated that his endorsement might come shortly after Wednesday night’s presidential debate at Hofstra University, during which both Obama and John McCain will square off on domestic issues.
Many political analysts — including Zbigniew Brzezinski, Robert Novak and William Kristol — have predicted that Powell, who was secretary of state under President Bush, will back the Democrat in the race.
After Powell’s address to the audience, he took center stage — dressed in a suit and tie — to show off his hip-hop dance moves.

Similar to now. Kerry was getting a range of 48 to 51 percent while Bush was at 47 to 49. It was not until election day that people opened up their eyes and asked that “trust” and “crediable” question when they voted. Not that BUSH is Trustworthy and Crediable! But he played his campaign like NOBama is now.

It was Daddy Ayer’s money that got the federal charges against little Billy dismissed due to “illegal wiretaps”, and there was no doubt more than a few favors called in by daddy Ayers in getting that done.
Billy Boy decided to carry on his revultion from within the system, targeting youth education programs and building alliances like ACORN and the budding Prince Daley. With the Chicago machine fully behind him, Bill Ayers settled into being a college professor as his “day” job.
Pretty incredible what passes for “respectable” in Chicago – in Obama’s neighborhood alone, there are the likes of Ayers and Louis Farrakhan. Add Jesse Jackson, Jeremiah Wright and Phleger into the mix of the Chicago mainstream, and you get a good idea of how far out of our world Chicago politics is.

EX-Dem in VA #34 David Letterman – several of us have written letters to David Letterman regarding his poor treatment and comments to Sen McCain last night on his show -as was reported on the last thread – he made the ladies on the View look like little angels and Oprah all wrapped together — he was snarky about Gov Palin, he challenged his viewpoint regarding Ayers when he in turn was in the same house with Liddy – I think all the good that was done in the debate and with such a wide audience watching did more harm than good to Sen McCain last night – anyone else see it.

Sarah Palin’s stop in Indiana packed 20,000 people at Verizon Wireless today. It is Indiana’s largest concert venue and it was completely packed. I tried to get tickets on Wednesday but they were all gone. I watched the rally in the internet, Indiana will not turn blue…The crowd was electrified.
