$800 THOUSAND DOLLARS for get out the vote efforts during the primary season?? Hmmm . . . maybe that’s what paid for all those buses into Iowa during the caucus, all the lawyers and agitators in Texas during the caucus. More than three quarters of a million dollars for gaming the caucuses and fraud? It would be irresponsible NOT to speculate.

Recordings of recent API story on Michelle Obama’s telephone call is now being cleared for release

API is disturbed by the way many have reacted to the story on Mrs Obama’s call. Many have shown us by the way they have behaved towards API that they only think of their own interests because they have demanded that the audio recordings should be released immediately. We understand that the tapes should be released, but those who have demanded the release of the tapes seem not take into account that API may become a suing target.
The Recordings:
API has recordings of the conversation between API and Mrs Obama (Shocking development: Mrs Obama decides enough is enough: “My husband was born in Hawaii and adopted by his step father, does that make him unpatriotic; she asks”, on a direct telephone to API., and we confirm that the audio will be released to the public. In the last 24 hours, API has been consulting legal advisers on the way forward in order to avoid being sued by the Obama camp. API has realised that the contents of the tapes if made public may change the political atmosphere in America for ever, especially in the next few days.
Due to enormous reactions received, API now understands the impact of the statements made by Mrs Obama. The American people have reacted in a way we in API would never have expected.
Many have question why Mrs Obama would choose a little known online media group instead of the American media. API was chosen because of a Nairobi contact that did not like the way API was covering Barack Obama using information collected from American media outlets. The Nairobi contact prevailed upon Mrs Obama to talk to API.
The only thing API may have done wrong is not informing Mrs Obama that the conversation was being recorded. This is why it is taking time to release the recording while consulting a legal team because API wants to be legally safe from any Obama camp law suit.
The US Media Outlets:
Since the release of Mrs Obama story, many US media outlets have insisted that API should release the recordings made when Mrs Obama spoke with API. We understand the importance of the recordings in our possession and yet the first thing we are thinking of is not simply to make them public because groups are pressurising API to do so. The release of the information will be done, because we know we have Mrs Obama on tape, but API must do it in a way that does not put API in an embarrassing legal situation.
Die-hard Obama supporters:
A number of Americans who are die-hard Obama followers have tried their best to intimidate API using all kinds of threatening methods when they call in and when they email us. They are implying that API is planning to destroy Obama’s chances to become the next US President. API does not have a direct interest in the US Presidential elections and we want Obama supporters to understand that. However, when someone who may become the next first lady makes such comments as in the story we have published, the public have the right to know. Intimidation directed to the publishers of the story is not the answer.
The delay to make public the recordings is expected to give time to Mrs Obama to come clean and tell the American people that her comments were not meant to harm anyone but that she was reacting to the media pressure on her husband. She should also come out and tell the American people that she will not discriminate those who are not Obama fanatics if she becomes the first lady.
Die-hard Mcain supporters:
Those who do not support Obama are actively pushing for the release of the recordings also, and we understand them very well. In many telephone conversations with them we, however, get disturbed when we realise that most of them want the recordings to be released because they want to use it to stop Senator Obama from being elected President. They state clearly that if the story is true and released now, the contents will safe America from a constitutional crisis that may come if things come out after the elections that proves Obama was adopted by a foreigner, thus, disqualifying him from the Presidency.

Some have questioned why API has its base in Norway. Online News Media can be based anywhere in the world. With the Internet age, a news network can have people anywhere in the world. API’s news correspondents – 19 of them are real and based in the African Continent. API is a solid Daily Online News Channel and this Obama story will not change that.
Questioning API on being based in Norway:
There is nothing wrong having African Press International based in Norway and the channel run by Africans from the African Continent. Even Kenya’s present Prime Minister Raila Odinga lived in Norway for some time before joining the Kenya government.
API has also been accused because of the timing to release Mrs Obama story. Some even discus small issues as to why API telephone number starts with 00, and spellings in the article. This to us in API sounds ridiculous.
The important thing to be concerned about is how API obtained the story and how genuine it is. The second thing is to exercise understanding and to respect why there is a delay in releasing the recordings. API is not saying there are no recordings, but it is important to take serious API’s concerns on a possible suit if the tapes are not handled carefully.
API is not out to convince the American public of anything. We do not want to influence the outcome of the US Presidential elections. API got a true story and published it. The fact that the story has caused a stir was unexpected, but that does not mean API must rush in a manner that will cause problems to itself, just to satisfy those who want the audio tapes so badly.
When the legal concerns are cleared, which is happening in a short while, API will make public all the recordings available. This will also include comments, not yet published, which will most certainly put the Obama Campaign spokesperson who had dismissed the story off balance.
Even if our recordings or any other recordings had surfaced after the elections and if the contents were damaging to the elected person that still could have caused any elected president to vacate the White House. We all know that the tapes released in the US in 1974 forced President Richard Nixon out of office. The truth is the truth. The tapes during Nixon time did not lie.
The same here. The recordings that API will release soon will not lie to the American people. Most probably, it will change the political landscape, something the Americans should start getting prepared to face.

Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, filed an appeal the high court late Wednesday, said spokesman Jeff Ortega.
On Tuesday, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati sided with the Ohio Republican Party and ordered Brunner to set up a system that provides names of newly registered voters whose driver’s license numbers or Social Security numbers don’t match records in other government databases.
The GOP contends the information for counties will help prevent fraud.
At least 200,000 newly registered voters have mismatched data, according to an initial review by Brunner’s office.

I think the Berg suit deserves far more attention and scrutiny than it’s getting. If Obama is techinically ineligible per Constitutional law, then he’s ineligible. That’s why we have Courts of Law…in theory.
I choose to believe the American public and the brilliance of our system will right this wrong before our society self-destructs.

There are two kinds of mortgage banks: first are the ones who sell paper on the secondary market (Fannie and Freddie) and those who do portfolio loans.
Secondary Market Lenders:
These lenders take loan applications and process them according to prevailing industry guidelines. They package the loans into million $ increments and sell them on the mortgage to either Fannie or Freddie. The government has some responsibility for these loans too, as they come with an ‘on the top’ guarantee to the investor. Many of these loans are topped off with Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) that would pay the first 20% of the mortgage amount should the property go into foreclosure.
In this instance the mortgage company or bank is acting as a procurement agency for the investors who buy loans through fannie and freddie. They sometimes act as the servicer of the mortgages as well, especially if they are a bank. If they are a mortgage broker, some other nationwide entity usually services (collects the payments on) the loans.
Primary Market Lenders: (local banks and credit unions)
These lenders use their own money to finance property. They set their own criteria for lending (subject to bank examiners and equal housing laws) and do not sell the paper. They service the loans themselves. For high loan to value loans, they probably make you buy PMI for the first 20% of the loan. You would pay your payment at the local bank, and if the loan is foreclosed, they would be the foreclosing agent. In the mortgage business these kinds of lenders are said to be taking out portfolio loans. That is, the loan is part of their portfolio of assets.

There are advantages and disadvantages to the locally held mortgage for the consumer. The disadvantage is that the local banks usually have tighter loan criteria for credit and lower limits for loan to value. They also have a shorter repayment schedule as a rule. They do not have to have an appraisal for a transaction under $100,000, though most do. The disadvantage to the bank is that they do not always have funds to loan. The use of the secondary market allows banks to turn over the loans to other people by selling them, and then reloan the money, making a profit both times.
The advantage to having a local bank is that you don’t have to deal with the nationwide web of the secondary market, including having the loan sold, the loss of escrows when it is sold, and the difficulty in having the loan serviced by being forced to either mail or electronically transfer funds to cover the payment.
The largest growing segment in the banking industry is the small local bank. In most markets, they control about 35% of the market. That share is up from 10% a decade ago.

Is this the kind of person the Arch Dioceses of Chicago supports? Has the Diocese condemned these comments? After what the repulsive Father Pfleger said about Senator Hillary Clinton in the primaries and him only getting a 5 day suspension (a mere slap on the wrist for such hateful, sexist and racist comments) is this what the Chicago diocese does to “handle” racial incidences?
I am a devout Catholic in the Warminster, Pennsylvania area. I know that Cardinal Regali would be right there condemning such conduct. He did so when Nancy Pelosi said that the Catholic church “doesn’t know where life begins.” The church wonders why many people leave the faith, maybe it is because the faith doesn’t stand up for us when someone is wronged.
I would love to hear the Cardinal’s response to this outrageous statement. Is Fr. Greely a practicing priest in your organization?

As for the ABC story, that was a statement from the Obama campaign. They are not likely to be a reliable source of denial in this case.

If Barack was adopted, he became an Indonesian citizen and then would have had to reinstate his citizenship in the US making him a naturalized citizen, not a natural-born citizen. My niece was over helping prepare the Thanksgiving stuffing a couple years back (Italian style stuffing-gr meat, sausage, onions, garlic, tomatoes, bread crumbs, eggs, cheese, mushrooms, fresh parsley, etc-quite a project) and we found on the turkey that there is a hotline to call if you need help cooking a bird! My niece is quite a cutup and called using this dopo voice and the woman held the conversation for like 15 min! LOL

Yes, you are right. The problem is that if he had to swear an oath of allegiance to the US he would not be a natural-born citizen unless he had US citizenship which
is why his birth certificate is important. Remember that BO traveled to Pakistan when US citizens were not allowed there, so he probably still had his Indonesian passport. At that time, the US did not recognize dual citizenship from Indonesia. If Obama was born in Kenya, he is not an American citizen. If he reclaimed his citizenship later, he is not eligible to be POTUS.

Listening to the mainstream media these last few days – I’ve learned a few
things about the GOP’s VP nominee – but also had to learn a few things on my
own. To wit:———
1. From the media, I learned Sarah Palin’s husband has a DUI conviction
from 22 years ago. On my own, I learned that Ted Kennedy – (hero of last week’s tribute at the DNC) was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick. That
same crash killed a young campaign volunteer, with whom he was having an
affair. Oh, and that woman was pregnant with his child!
* Mr. Palin’s (who is not running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years
after Barack Obama (who is running for president) stopped using cocaine
and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography).
Shocking – it’s OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs or the
‘party patriarch’ to kill someone while driving drunk – yet the husband of a
VP candidate should be demonized for something done 22 years ago.
2. From the media – I learned that Sarah Palin’s daughter is pregnant.
* On my own – I learned that Joe Biden’s (the other VP candidate) son was
paid a large amount of money – as a consultant to credit card company MBNA.
That same company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning
regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty
sum to Mr. Biden’s son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that
company.
* That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation – and a suit
for defrauding a former business partner.
Shocking – it’s a crime for the republican VP candidate to have a child
who’s pregnant, even though it’s irrelevant to how she performs her job.
It’s ok, however, for the democrat VP candidate – while a senator – to vote in
favor of a company who paid his son over a quarter of a million dollars.
3. From the media – I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered
‘selfish’ for agreeing to run for VP, knowing about her daughter’s
condition. Knowing that her public role would bring extra scrutiny on the
family is selfish, and she should have declined – to protect her child
(actually heard this on ABC this weekend).
Strange – the same people who said Sarah is selfish for running for VP did
not seem to care about any impact on Chelsea , when Bill Clinton had his
dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter you
see.
4. From the media – I have learned to be ‘concerned’ that Sarah Palin
probably won’t be able to manage her family, and do an effective job of
being VP at the same time.
Funny – I never heard anything about Hillary’s ability to support Chelsea
while re-doing healthcare, or any of the other feminist icons who say you
can balance work and family. They also never mention that Barack will
have to balance time with his children while meeting with heads of rogue
nations, or how Joe Biden’s kids don’t even have a mom, and will be fighting
for his time while he hosts white house coffee fundraisers, and sells
nights in the Lincoln bedroom.
5. From the media – I have learned that Sarah Palin is ‘too inexperienced’
to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency.
* Apparently taking on corruption in your own party, and running a state
that’s the same size people-wise as Delaware – (hint hint: that’s where Joe
Biden is from) – is not really experience.
* However, time spent as a ‘community organizer’ – and less than 180 days in
the senate where you’ve authored no significant legislation – is just the
type of ‘change’ we’re looking for – from the top of the ticket.
Funny – inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for ‘change’ and
‘hope’ – while strong practical everyday experience – as the #2 – is cause for
concern.
6. From the media – I learned that Sarah Palin’s husband once got a ticket
for fishing without a license.
* I haven’t heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing
attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be – dis-barred for plagiarism – not
once – but multiple times.
It’s ok to break the rules – if you’re a democrat candidate – but not Ok if
you are the spouse of a republican candidate.
7. From the media – I learned that Sarah Palin doesn’t know much about
Iraq; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is……………
* Sarah’s son volunteered into the US military – and is now deployed in
Iraq. I guess that doesn’t count.
Sarah has spent more time with troops in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska
National Guard, she visited Iraq last year) – than Obama has – even while
running for president. In fact, when Sarah went to Iraq – she spent time
with the troops. When Obama went there, he skipped a base visit to
instead go work out – at the Ritz Carlton.
8. From the media – I learned that Sarah Palin is a ‘lightweight’ – and she
better be a ‘quick study’ to keep up with this team.
Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had ‘visited 57
states’ – according to him, he only had ’5 more to go’ – or endless other
stupid gaffes – that expose who he really is.
9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin’s husband was
once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states’ rights – (man,
this is really bad stuff !!!).
* That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama
announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of – William Ayers.
Mr. Ayers is an ‘un-repentant terrorist’ – convicted for bombing the pentagon.
THIS same Mr. Ayers said, on 9/11 that he, and his group. did not do enough
to harm our military – and he – WISHED HE HAD DONE MORE !!! During the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with – Barack Obama. All notes
and information about their serving together is NOW locked up by the
‘corrupt Chicago machine’ and reporter access to those records – are being
blocked – by the Obama campaign.
If we’ve had any doubts about the bias of the media, it’s pretty clear NOW
where they stand.
Pass this on to some of your friends who are on the
fence, and who get all their information from – Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer,
Tom Brokaw – and the gang. This is egregious and corrupt!! The only way to
stop it – is to spread information using other outlets, and make these guys
irrelevant.
It just occured to me~~~if Obama is elected, I can quit working and get free money from the ‘redistribution’. Whoopieeee!!!

Hi Everyone, I’ve been gone for over a month, New York and Colorado. It’s been great …… sort of away from the stress of the campaign until I see political signs. Lots of McCain-Palin signs on fence posts in rural Colorado, but lots of O bumper stickers on cars all across the nation. Didn’t see O’s flying advertisement on my flights in the great blue skies. Listen to people in restaurants and on the subways. they want “change” and see it in O. My feeling is that neither candidate is going to give this nation the change we need. And if the Dems take both the House and the Senate, they will stumble over themselves to make every “mistake” they can. I picture it as a cat in a sandbox. And neither O or Mac will be able to control them. The Dems have been harnessed for 16 years and they are going to come out shooting (verbally). There will be infighting and it will be a battle of the liberals vs. the moderates, not the Republicans vs. the Democrats. Howard Dean and his boys/girls wanted change at any cost. The people of this nation are going to be the loosers. Sorry, but that’s what I see and hear across the nation.

She is a working woman feminist who has 5 children, is beautiful, dresses well, is accomplished, and has a working class husband that is not afraid to be a complete partner.

Are you watching McCain on Letterman? At first it was pretty funny & McCain was handling things well.
But then Letterman started hammering away in such a negative way – clearly Pro-Obama. Letterman is usually sort of funny and makes jokes – but instead he started acting like some interviewer on one of those MSNBC news shows.
All this because McCain canceled an appearance with Letterman but then showed up on CBS news that night. Letterman has been knocking McCain ever since and in person tonight has not let up on McCain.
Even when McCain gives an answer Letterman just asks the question again and again. Obama campaign must be clapping their hands in glee.
Letterman really questioned Palin’s credibility. I don’t know why Letterman can’t see that BO is the unqualified one here. Letterman said he’s an Independent – but clearly in BO camp.
I admire McCain for going onto the show & facing the guy – had to be done. McCain has had to be pretty assertive about talking over Letterman to be sure he gets to respond. McCain understood the people were there to be entertained and tried to make some jokes or move the conversation in other directions after a question had been asked several times – but Letterman just wouldn’t give it up.
I guess the good news is that McCain got 3 segments with Letterman – which is not normal.
McCain made an indirect pat on the back to Bill Clinton when referring to the former governor of Arkansas who went on to become one of the best Presidents.
I’m sure the biased media will pull out sound bites and show over and over and make Letterman the hero for the BO campaign.

When I was watching Obama and McCain debate last night, it was sickening to see the smug smile on Obama’s face the whole time McCain was talking and saying things that were important. He seriously thinks he has this in the bag and he is the “Chosen One”. I am very afraid for the country should he become the president. This guy has no decency, no respect for the honorable people around him.
Honestly, I am grateful that my mom was born in Finland and I applied for and recieved duel citizenship with Finland 2 years ago. If things really go to the dogs here, I have a place to go to that is stable. I have never been in such fear for the USA in my life. I can’t believe such fraud could go on and nothing is being done about it. There really is nobody sane at the wheel.

Factcheck claims they went to Chicago and saw a bc with raised embossing intact. They say the Hawaii officials dated it 2007, when the copy was requested.

I think that we are safer with McCain. Obama is not someone that I trust. His associations are shady and he changes positions too often.

The problem with Obama’s plan is that it lacks incentive. Basically if you own a business you will be taxed if you make too much money so therefore you either find all the loopholes or just not have the incentive to make more money. This just stops all the drive gears of america. Why would anyone want to work harder and why would anyone want to open a business just knowing you are capped at how much you make. This is just a way of keeping everyone at the same level or lower. There will be very few people trying new businesses and even less people hiring for their businesses.
This plan just doesn’t work for anyone. Jobs drive the economy and give people the money that they earn to distribute. Giving stimulus checks doesn’t created jobs. Does the government actually think people are going to put that money back into circulation of the economy? No way, they will just be trying to catch up on their bills and therefore out goes the whole idea of money circulation in the economy.

Guess What, My wife, my son, and myself were paying a total of $345 a month for Kieser Permanent health insurance. This totals to be a little more than $4000
dollars a year which would have left us with some extra money in our pocket for the copays. This was good health insurance with a max of $3000 dollars out of pocket per year. This was yearly out of pocket and not through my company.
You also have to remember that Senator Mccain was flying jets when Senator Obama was still in diapers. I think that says enough.

Under Obama’s tax plan, if you work, you get a $500 tax credit. My husband and I chose to have me stay home with our four kids. I work all the time at home. I also clip coupons, shop and Goodwiil and basically reduce the family costs enough to make up for the job I don’t have outside the home. Obama will only allow our family of six a $500 tax credit while the double income no kids group will get $1000 what is up with that?

I also own and operate a small business. Any tax increase would typically prevent a small business like mine from expanding. However, I operate a tax boutique law firm and would likely see a growth in business (i.e., helping taxpayers find the loopholes) if Obama and his tax increases are a reality. As for health care costs, our cost is $7,584 for a complete family and $3,096 under BCBS. The credit suggested by McCain is spot on

I think that these polls are skewed to the democrats! The media makes it almost scary and definately uncool to admit that you are a republican and thus people tell the pollsters what they think they want to hear. I work in a blue collar job where I take lots of heat for my opinions, especially my union reps.

I am concerned about Obama’s increase of capital gains from 15% to 28%. Multi-millionaires are not the only ones who own stocks or real estate. When the economic crisis clears, I would like to put some profits in my pocket instead in the governments pockets
National Security
I believe National Security is the #1 issue for me. I do not like the idea of trying to apease our enemies. The economy and the cost of health care and tax rates and where the DOW closed today did not come to mind on 9/11/2001. Again I ask who do you think our enemies would vote for?

I am a second generation business owner. We currently have around 120 employees working for us. Under Obama’s proposed plan I would have to lay off a lot of good employees that rely on us for work. I give them insurance and a generous time off policy for dedicated employees. I take my responsibliity to our employees welfare very seriously. That being said, it is disturbing to me that a candidate comes out and says he will raise taxes on those 70% of all businesses in the U.S (those making over $250K). He said last night that it won;t effect 95% of businesses…WRONG. It will effect 70%! God help us if he gets in.
Do voters not think of the consequences of an Obama administration? John McCain made a very good reference to businesses looking to locate…stay here and pay Obama’s 50%…or go to Ireland and pay 11%. And then asked Obama why he would do that in this time of economic crisis (and yes, it is effecting our company). Its’ easy to figure out where jobs will be going.

My neighbor Jesse, a working stiff with two little girls and a working wife told me that Obama would not know a working man if he met one face to face. HAAA! he was right! I have a theory about the Bradley effect. It exists in every election regardless of the candidate. When you have a trendy candidate who has the support of the media and the hollywood crowd, not everyone feels comfortable telling the truth to the pollsters. That little ticking voice inside a person’s head may be telling them something they don’t openly want to admit, especially if they will get humiliated or attacked for their speaking out.
But………The secret ballot cast in the voting booth exempts all of us from that pressure. We can vote our conscience without social stigma in doing so. It is not necessarily racism that motivates this. In fact, it very well may be just the opposite. The person who would endorse someone or not openly stand against someone because it might me interpreted as being racist could just be being polite by not pushing the issue.

During the depression they made a very bad mistake by going to isolationism? In bad times EXPORTS are critical, they will drive the economy with other countries taking advantage of our weakened economy. When times are good, you can afford isolationism. Maybe Obama was dropped on his head as a baby.
McCain is smart to understand this, it tells me that he knows alot more about the economy than anyone that listens to Obama realizes. This past year our GDP grew 3.3 % because of exports! Do you want to kill this productivity? It won’t be pretty went we start seeing businesses laying off left and right!
Obama’s inexperience will bring the collapse of our economy from a recession to DEPRESSION. We truely can’t afford to let Obama get elected. If you think our economy is bad now, give Obama the credit card with a money hungry Pelosi and Reid. They will have a party the likes we’ve never seen.

Last night I heard Jeanine Beck (I believe that was who it was, but I’m not sure) on Iowa Public Television say Dean is in Iowa at the universities getting students to vote early…long lines of them. She said the purpose was to have 20-30% of the voting done before Nov 4th…laughed and said she wasn’t going to tell why they were doing this. She did say that having them vote is cheaper than doing absentee voting…(sure). Is it that the Noboma campaign wants to get on the airwaves the morning of the 4th and tell the nation it isn’t necessary to go vote…they already have the numbers to win? After the cheating at the Iowa Caucus, the district, regional conventions, then the manipulation at the state convention and the disgusting cheating at the national convention, I guess why not end on an all out big cheat at the final national election. If investigations are a republican ploy, why are such a high percentage of irregularites, invalid, and illegal voter registrations being discovered across the country?
Just yesterday local news for my area reported an invetsigation discovered 17% of registrations were illegal, that’s up from the normal 1%-2% irregularities.
That’s the result of just one investigation, in one small city. Multiply that by all the cities in ’58′ states, and it’s enough to turn any election.
Wouldn’t you rather see your affirmative action selectee win fair and square? Why wouldn’t you support investigations that have the potential of keeping US elections free of tampering / fraud?

Against school choice and welfare reform. ACORN was a major contributor to the subprime meltdown by pushing lenders to make home loans on easy terms, conducting “strikes” against banks so they’d lower credit standards.
But the organization’s real genius is getting American taxpayers to foot the bill. According to a 2006 report from the Employment Policies Institute (EPI), Acorn has been on the federal take since 1977.
For instance, Acorn’s American Institute for Social Justice claimed $240,000 in tax money between fiscal years 2002 and 2003.
Its American Environmental Justice Project received 100% of its revenue from government grants in the same years.
EPI estimates the Acorn Housing Corporation alone received some $16 million in federal dollars from 1997-2007.
Only recently, Democrats tried and failed to stuff an “affordable housing” provision into the $700 billion bank rescue package that would have let politicians give even more to Acorn.

Why This Election Will Be Close: Hushed Confessions
In recent weeks I have spent a good amount of time crisscrossing the country.
Something very unusual is taking place.
From Seattle to San Diego, from Burlington, Vermont to New York City, from New Orleans to Texas and Midwest towns like Cleveland, I am hearing hushed admissions of a terrible sin: “Father, I’m not going to vote for Obama.”
Then I look at the polls. Nationally and in battleground States, Senator Obama is thrashing Senator McCain.
So what gives?
Pollsters would tell me it’s all very simple. Anecdotal evidence, like my experience on the road, isn’t really evidence at all. It is not trustworthy because it is not scientific. The divergence between what people are telling me and the polling data must be that I run in closed circles. People of like minds talk to me; the others don’t.
Very logical…unless…unless people don’t want their neighbors (or pollsters) to know they aren’t voting for Obama.
So, are we talking here about the “Bradley Effect”, that well-documented racist phenomenon of people telling pollsters one thing and then doing the opposite in the voting booth simply because the candidate is black?
No. I am referring to something else — the fear of talking to pollsters, or to your neighbor, or to anyone else about not wanting to vote for Barack Obama because of what he stands for.
Do you have doubts? How would you like to get up in front of a crowded theater in a mixed neighborhood and say you are going to vote for McCain? What respectable person wants to risk being considered a racist or a war monger or a fan of President Bush or an enemy of change? Many good people would like to see a black man as our president, or even a Democrat to be our president, but don’t want Barack Obama.
Yes, this race is different in a way that defies the scientific nature of polls. Do you remember the hushed admissions? Why do people feel obliged to speak quietly? Will these people agree to talk to a pollster? I don’t think so. I wouldn’t.
Eight years ago in 2000 and four years ago in 2004 my parents’ Ohio neighborhood was filled with political yard signs. For every two “Gore” or “Kerry” signs there were at least two “Bush” signs. And there were many, many signs, I assure you. Not so today. When I asked local McCain workers in Summit County the reason, they answered quickly: we go to the doors, people wink at us in approval, and then refuse to allow us to place a sign in their yard. A significant number of voters may prefer McCain, but don’t want to show their disapproval of Obama.
What will this mean on November 4th? I don’t know for sure. I do think the election will be closer than the polls suggest.
And I think it all has much more to do with Obama, the candidate, and his plans to “spread the wealth,” nominate very liberal federal judges and bow to Planned Parenthood, than with his ethnicity.

And, initial Independant Audits where there are large problems can often be very very revealing of the mess one is dealing with…enough to reveal that the grantee does not know what they are doing or does and is doing it allegedely illegally.
I have seen some first audits that were beyond my imagination for the irregularities revealed . That is all I am trying to say…here. These documents would be the quickest to get, at any rate and even so now, perhaps could not be gotten in time..unless opposition research already had them in hand or had instant access.
California would be a great state to bring a suit. lots of electorial votes that will go democratic. get obamas name off the ballot and the problem goes away. Put my sweet friend Hillary on the ballot.
