From the WSJ: “Then there’s Lake County, Indiana, which has already found more than 2,100 bogus applications among the 5,000 Acorn dumped right before the deadline. ‘All the signatures looked exactly the same,’ said Ruthann Hoagland, of the county election board. Bridgeport, Connecticut estimates about 20% of Acorn’s registrations were faulty. As of July, the city of Houston had rejected or put on hold about 40% of the 27,000 registration cards submitted by Acorn.”
ACORN led voter fraud is now being investigated in ten states: Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Connecticut, Missouri, Texas, Florida, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Indiana. Swing states all (well, no offense to Connecticut, but the Constitution State is likely NOT a key battleground this year, but I digress). Is it a coincidence that the Obama Machine paid Acorn EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS to buy register new votes in critical swing states?
And the jokers from ACORN who told the nation yesterday that a) it’s not their fault if the people they hire to invent register new voters “steal” from them by passing in phony registration cards, and b) anyway the fraudulent registrations are only a tiny fraction of the massive number of new registrations ACORN has collected.
Yeah, right. In my math book 40% is NOT a tiny fraction. Neither is 20%; nor is 100% as has been reported in one Indiana county.
Not a tiny fraction. A tiny fraction is more like 3% or maybe even 6%, or to put it in practical terms, a tiny fraction is an amount that will have no discernible impact on the outcome. If close to HALF of the new registrations in Ohio and Indiana are fraudulent then we have a disaster in the making.
If the vote in Ohio and Indiana is close, as it surely will be, will the results be believable? Will the citizens of those states feel confident that their vote was counted fairly? If the outcome in either of those states determines the outcome in the electoral college, will the entire country feel confident that our election was fair and legitimate?
This is YET ANOTHER example of the PROFOUND FAILURE of Howard’s leadership of our party. In a democratic society it is both reckless and irresponsible to pursue a “win at any cost” strategy. Why didn’t Howard tell Obama to tell ACORN to knock it off?
If there is chaos on election day, and if (god forbid) the nation is forced to relive the 2000 post-election nightmare because of credible evidence of WIDESPREAD VOTER FRAUD, it will be Howard, Obama’s, and the DONC’s fault.
What the hell were they thinking anyway? That the republicans would be too intimidated to fight back? Too dazzled by the Messiah?
Amateurs.

Amateurs? I think not. Professionals in the ongoing institution of voter fraud tactics perfected over time in two of our older Citites: Chicago and New Orleans, where Acorn’s founder Wade Rathke’s brother is on trial for embezzlement of $1,000,000.00 from ACORN..and what does the National Acorn board say?…Stunned..did not know anything about it until now…Where o ACORN and WHERE O Howard and Where OBINGO are the everyday standard accounting and legal procedures at least at minimum, once a year of AN OUTSIDE INDEPENENDENT AUDIT OF BUDGET AND FUND MANAGEMENT? and Where O Where all of you thieves, crooks and FRAUDS ….were you?
Most importantly, Where are the attorneys to sue for the pulling of ACORN’s CHARTER AS A NON-PROFIT
AT STATE LEVELS AND WHERE OH WHERE ARE THE ATTORNEYS TO SUE FOR THE SAME REGARDING ACORN SO CALLED SUBSIDIARY NON-PROFITS?

Obama holds a slim 3-point lead over McCain, the IBD/TIPP Tracking Poll shows. McCain has underperformed with key GOP groups compared with President Bush in 2004: conservatives (Bush=75% vs. McCain=67%); Catholics (Bush=50% vs. McCain=42%); investors (Bush=53% vs. McCain=46%).

Murphy: I suggest a Major Prowl to Attorney General’s and Secretary of States in SWING states for the purpose of starting a cancelling of charters as a non-profit for any Acorn or subsidiary nonprofit group who used funds for alleged or confirmed fraudulent activities.
Each state in which a non-profit is incorporated as a non-profit has laws which require certain functions of that non-profit. If a non-profit is found to be out of line with these requirements, their state given charter can be denied. In the least, if a move is made on charter status, perhaps an injunction could be forced to stop.
Moreover, if a non-profit, receives funds from state or federal government, additional legal requirements are institutied for the expenditure and reporting of expenditures of funds used under individual terms of standard state and federal funding sources….There are many angles to go after Acoren and its subsidiaries.
voter fraud?? hell theres been voter fraud going on since this election began.. when the MSM is coercing, lying and hiding the truth from the voter..that is the same thing as voter fraud but on a much greater level..so throw in ACORN for good measure..

HOLD ON A MINUTE … before we start emailing this story around read Berg’s comments it. Everything you find on the Internet isn’t always truth.
Berg said that its contents were under “cautious consideration” and planned to take steps to independently verify the statements from Michelle Obama purported to have been made to the organization. If the statements were indeed truly said and can be verified as such by audiotape or the like, Berg said that they were devastating for the Illinois senator’s cause in the lawsuit currently pending in federal court in Philadelphia.
“If she did say these things, and listen, I can’t say whether or not these statements were made up, then it solidifies the arguments I’ve been making for months now,” Berg said, acknowledging that the African Press International article was suspect. “If these statements turn out to be valid, then she admitted that he truly was adopted by his stepfather in Indonesia and therefore cannot be eligible for the presidency.”
Personally, I still don’t buy it. It just doesn’t add up. If Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter wanted to vent to someone in the media, would she call the people at The Daily Kos?
Think about it. The media is about as friendly to Barack Obama and his candidacy as they could be toward a presidential candidate and campaign without the need for a prophylactic, and still Michelle Obama is being physically prevented from even talking with Katie Couric, the friendliest of the friendlies. Why in the world would she call a fly-by-night Web site like African Press International, which has been very unfriendly toward her husband, and expect any sort of journalistic integrity? Why would she say the things she purportedly said?

DO you know why Sen. Clinton is going to be there ????
Well , in my head , that’s what is going to happen …
I do . It’s because as soon as the debate begins , obama is going to say that it has just been revealed to him that his is not an American citizen and is inelligible to run and he is going to turn the campaign over to Sen. Clinton who will then destroy mccain in the debate and save the free world , and then I will proceede to drop my pants and welcome anyone who wants to kiss my ass !

PETITION TO CALL FOR HEARING ON SENATOR OBAMA’S VIOLATION OF THE LOGAN ACT
written by Stephanie Perry, October 14, 2008
We demand that Congress open hearings on Senator Barack Obama’s potential violations of the Logan Act.
On at least two separate occasions, as documented by NBC and The New York Post, Senator Barack Obama has attempted to negotiate a delay to U.S. negotiations with Iraq until after the elections.
We feel this is an egregious abuse of his position and in violation of the Logan Act, which by historical judicial interpretation prevents anyone, including members of Congress, from interfering with U.S. negotiations

theres only two things now that can save mccians chances..
external event that would shift the focus over to mccain… some attack, some bad obama revelation etc

Obama’s “Truth Squads” Censor Free Speech on BlogTalkRadio?

http://doctorbulldog.wordpress.com/2…blogtalkradio/
Quote:
This is breaking news: In yet another Orwellian move by the Obamites, Tracy, over at “No Compromise when it Comes to Being Right” was shut down by blogtalkradio tonight when she was interviewing Phil Berg about the lawsuit against Barack Obama! Here is her post:
Phil Berg is my guest today on No Compromise Radio:
I scheduled a show with Attorney Phil Berg who has filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama for not being a US Citizen therefore he is an illegal alien.
My show was terminated at the beginning of the show. Why? The BTR assistant Director of Customer Relations, Shannon Dingee-Kramer stated that my show was, “racially or ethnically offensive, defamatory, unreasonably violent, threatening, intimidating or harassing; 2. contains falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage BlogTalkRadio or any other person; (BTR red emphasis–not mine!)
In other words, those who claim to be for free speech are afraid of it when they see it, or hear it in this case! It might offend someone and that’s far more important to protect than the American Principle of exercising the flow of speech in the arena of public ideas.
So I am officially off the air until further notice thanks to the Obamunists and Islamists who support him!
#14Well Murphy: When Obama loses, I enthusiastically hope one of the functions of PUMAPAC will be to continue to assert to law enforcement state and federal
sources with oversight responsibilities ..a thorough investigation of precisely the entities I cited above, resulting in …not just a rethinking of DNC, but INDICTMENTS OF THE CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR OF INDIVIDUALS NAMED IN YOUR POST, CERTAINL DEAN AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. Nothing happend to anyone after the fiasco in Florida..in 2004. Democrats learned that and instead of, as I and millions of others so naively thought, would correct this debacle…chose to IMITATE AND GO OH SO VERY MUCH FARTHER WITH THE CORRUPTION. This time around somebody’s have to go to jail or at least go to trial. Cleaning up a party means as well cleaning up the people and the practices of that party and there is enough in the Democratic Party leadership to take the full weight of this PAC for several years….
America I grew up in is coming to an end with Obama. The people will know there has been change when we are officially a Muslim Communist nation under Obama.

I’m no statistician, but according to the poll referenced below, if McCain can just improve his numbers within his own party (the conservatives) that would bring him up a lot. Also, a large part of Obama’s supporters are age 24 and under – how reliable are they going to be?

it doesnt look good for the mccain campaign..

osaka and gohillary, dont be discouraged!
obama is not a muslim — he’s just not. he’s a political opportunist with an ego the size of Alaska. that’s all. no worse than George Bush (which is pretty bad).

The neverfindout video is the best thing I’ve seen, and they just showed part of it on FoxNews. We need to distribute this to everybody on our email list.
HERE’S AN IDEA!
74% of voters age 18-24 are going for Obama.
If you live in a college town in a swing state, just host a free keg party on election day. Which will these college aged kids go for? Free beer or voting????
#30 Osaka: One of the original purposes of this Pac is to in paraphrase straghten out the Democratic Party.
If you do not believe that is one of our functions, then what is the point of anything? I do not take that position.
Reform just does not happen….It always, under all circumstances, even when there is no legal matter involved takes absolute persistance from individuals and or groups who determine that persistance,
.Do not tell me reform is not possible, because I have been involved in such for years. It is grueling and dogged persistance…and I believe both the leadership of this Pac and its members have and have shown that quality and others, including You,….Osaka.
what nop said.
oh no.. dont get me wrong.. mccain can still win..but barring a real game changer..hes on his way to defeat..
i’m not so sure obama is not a muslim in his heart and mind which could be just as dangerous for america..
Good Morning
Today I am gathering all the information I can to send to my son who supports Obama. Hopefuly he will see the light before he votes!!
#27 GoHillaryGo on 10.15.08 at 10:28 am
What do we do to get this out to the average everyday voters ASAP? They deserve to know what the ObamaNation would really look like before casting their vote?
I don’t care what the polls say or the media says. BO will not win the general election.
BO acts as if his hands are clean in all this crap but there are some people that are not buying it. If enough people come out and vote for McCain then BO will not be the next POTHUS. We are doing what we can to stop BO and the DNC. Maybe then the DNC will get the message that BO was not the way to go.
#34Murphy: Once again your steady hand and imagination reveal why I admire and accept joyfully your leadership of this PAC. We may and we will periodically see dissimilarly, but what we see and what we pursue is one of great, important commonality!
Forward PAC…using all legal methods imagined previously and new TODAY!
I swear to goodness , if #23 happens tonight , every single one of you owes me a beer ! Or money , or beer and money !
#40 osaka puma
I don’t think so. I refuse to have a defeatist attitude. I believe in Americans and I will continue to have faith and work as hard as I can to make it happen.
#40Osaka: My dear Osaka, for whom I have great affection, once again, I respectfully disagree..a big game changer is not needed….absolute dogged persistance is!

Sheesh Texas Beer and ass kissin?? Id settle for a shot of tequilla and a nap!
NOP… please dont get me wrong.. but i think your outlook is outdated and a relic of the past.. america has changed and politics changed with it… the old ways are outmoded and wont work anymore… look at the obama campaign with its aggressive militant approach and how effective it has been..
here in america if you want to play the game from now on..you better be willing to take it up a notch and become more militant and aggressive and also be willing to take it to the street level when it is needed ..all this civility and noblesse oblige attitude is becoming a pleasant historical anachronism and is also perceived as a sign of weakness by the other side… thats the direction politics will be decided in the future..near future
Osaka —don’t rule out McCain, this man has been fighting in his own way, Hillary fought and she still lost so what is the answer when you are up against this sort of corruption. Maybe Mccain’s cool respectful manner might be the edge. If he fights with correct allegations then he is negative; blame the media for his inability to fight with all he has. Americans can see through the sham and hopefully a large majority will vote accordingly.
#31 murphy,

Hey, just trying to be fair and balanced.
I’m re-posting the below information, because it is proof that Project Vote is a part of Acorn:
I just found an “inconsistency” on Obama’s Fight The Smears website. Obama says Project vote was never a part of Acorn, however read the following:
According to Richard Poe of DiscovertheNetworks.org, written in 2005, this is what he says:
“Project Vote is the voter mobilization arm of the radical cult ACORN. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose alleged purpose is to carry out “non-partisan” voter registration drives; to counsel voters on their rights; and to litigate on behalf of voting rights – focusing on the rights of the poor and the “disenfranchised.”
However, Project Vote’s actions suggest that its true agenda is more radical. Its activities appear to be aimed at overwhelming, paralyzing and discrediting the voting system through fraud, protests, propaganda and vexatious litigation.”
Now read this from that same site:
“Cloward and Piven had appointed National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO) veteran Hulbert James executive director of Human SERVE. He went on to play a major role in other voting rights organizations. Other NWRO veterans had found a home in ACORN, including ACORN’s founder, former SDS militant and NWRO activist Wade Rathke. ACORN co-founder Zach Polett. also came out of George Wiley’s NWRO. He founded Project Vote in 1982 and leads it to this day, while simultaneously serving as ACORN’s political director.”
However, read the third bullet from Obama’s Fight the Smears site.
• Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
• Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.
• Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.
Pumas, is something wrong with this picture?
Poe wrote about Project Vote in 2005, so there’s no axe to grind with Obama.
The above was my post from Monday night.
ASIAN4HILLARY
You have mail!
ACORN led voter fraud is now being investigated in ten states: Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Connecticut, Missouri, Texas, Florida, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Indiana.
Hope they add Pennsylvania to the list, with the suspected voter registration fraud in Phila.
tate.. read my post i made awhile ago..i said mccain can still win ..but only on a real “gamer changer” such as an external event or a big” bradley” effect on election day..
barring those two things if things aren’t shaken up real soon mccain will just keep flailing and obamas momentum will carry him on to victory..
like ive aid before… mccian is just a sideshow here..only obama can defeat obama..its all about whether america accepts or rejects obama
Sometimes I forget why I can’t freaking STAND Republicans (leadership). I forget what they did to Bill Clinton with White water and Lewenski , to Al Gore in Fla. and to Kerry with their Swift Boats . They are ruthless , corrupt , criminals without consciences ! Rove , Baker , Cheney , et al . are OGs ! Even though McCain maybe Milquetoast , the other ,old school, rethugs are NOT , and now , they have an even WIDER berth on the Supreme Court ! They may not like Mccain , but I doubt their disdain is enough to allow an all out coup by the far left . I’m just sayin …..

#43on therocks…your attitude is what it takes to give me strength and hope. thank you for rubbing it off on me.
PUMAs, Question: Has anyone heard Michelle Obama or the Obama campaign disclaim the API story?
#27 GoHillaryGo: Wow! The Obama Truth Squad Strikes Again. What’s going to freedom of speech IF Obama is elected?
#51Osaka: Me? suggesting civility and noblesse oblige?
Hilarious, Osaka…That is what Hillary did. She lost.
When I was a Hillary Rapid Responder, my communictions to the campaign from the beginning were in no way that of noblesse oblige, my friend..I assure you and neither were my actions.
..So let me translate: militant, aggressive approach in the streets..is equivalent to my use of dogged, absolute persistance….Politics has not changed.
The use of the tactics by Obama on a NATIONAL level is the change…the use of tactics that I and others here in this city of fought against and successfully FOR YEARS..
It is not I and my dogged persistance that is outdated; it is the neophyte exposure nationally to Obingo style tactics which has caught even professionals at the national level off guard and with their pants down, my friend…including the Hillary campaign, who started off thinking that in the face of a first time black candidate she would be able to keep the black voke…Had they known anything about how that works at the street level,as it did here for years,
they would not have lost but would have won by contesting the caucuses…the easiest place for corruption. Where did I learn that? Out of my oblesse obige outdated mode? No, my friend. Hillary and her campaign were not savage enough. Aggressive militant approaches in this CITY have been the standard tactic for many, many years, Osaka. And this microcosm has been translated to the National level for the first time.
Yes, it will change politics for years, but it does not have to mean that we, the voters, sit around and do nothing about it…and that has nothing to do with noblesse oblige…that has to do with old time, savage New Orleans and Chicago style street tactics.
that MO has a nasty temper dont she?
if obama slithers in she will become the most hated first lady in american history.. shes a loose cannon that one
MURPHY
You are right that Obama is going to LOSE. There is just tooo much against him. And we just got to keep letting people to never forget everything bad about him, with our flyers. blogging, e-mails and so on. We just go to keep reminding everyone what he really is. We got to NEVER give up no matter what the news says. They aren’t always right.
OB is making promises you know he won’t be able to keep. Where is he going to get all this money. Borrow from China again. We will never get out of debt.
#37 RedStateGuy – If you live in a college town in a swing state, just host a free keg party on election day. Which will these college aged kids go for? Free beer or voting????
I like the way you think…may be just enough to offset all the Donald Ducks who are registered to vote!
I agree with you NOP, myself being a Hillary Rapid Responder.
They should have come out FULL FORCE in these primaries. Hillary Had the TRUTH, she refused, possibly because of the repercussions of the DNC——in the end.
She didn’t lose, we all did. Why she stays, ONLY GOD above knows.
BO as president is possibly the worst thing I can imagine in my lifetime.
The shadows of him, in the dark, are all there.
MO doesn’t make me much happier.
In betrayal lies possibility
http://tdg.typepad.com/heidi_lis_potpourri/
There has been a great betrayal in the Democratic Party this year. Millions of Democrats are feeling it, and no Democratic Party leader is currently addressing it. This resounding silence is unfortunate. Not merely because betrayal causes pain. But because in betrayal lies opportunity. If betrayal is recognized and heeded, acknowledged promptly, and fully apologized for, it offers a chance for reconciliation on terms of clearer understanding. The only way betrayal can be handled squarely, straightforwardly, and immediately is for the betrayer to fully appreciate and understand the harm he or she has inflicted on the betrayed. That full appreciation and understanding demonstrates that the betrayer has learned something, something vital to those who have been betrayed: he or she has learned to inhabit their perspective and in so doing to change his or her own. And this can bring the betrayer and the betrayed closer together. Thus betrayers and betrayed can transcend the problem and cooperate anew.
But betrayal also presents another possibility. Gone unaddressed and unredressed it festers, causes further alienation and mistrust in the betrayed, who gradually feel warranted in denying cooperation at all. Historical examples of this pattern – of betrayal ignored and the betrayed moving on – include the reaction of the American colonists, who believed that the British parliament and then the British king continually betrayed both the Americans and the ideal of British law and politics; the reaction of the Indian people who faced with repeated disappointment in the unfulfilled promises of the British Raj sparked Gandhi’s first experiment in political noncooperation.
Over and over this political season, the DNC and Senator Obama have betrayed millions of Democratic voters by refusing to count their votes, by refusing to hold a non-rigged convention, by pretending unity when there is not unity.
A time comes when silence is betrayal. –quoted by Martin Luther King in his address “Beyond Vietnam – A Time To Break Silence”
From the earliest days of the primary season – when not one man running for the Democratic nomination and not one DNC leader acknowledged, let alone condemned, the misogynistic and sexist portrayals of Senator Clinton – to the present moment – when Senator Obama, who claims the polls have made it clear his November victory is secure, cannot stop long enough to acknowledge his own betrayals and deceits and thus to show that he can not only win this election but win it without leaving a badly splintered Party in his path, the Democratic Party leadership has shown that it does not understand or appreciate the betrayal that has been experienced by millions of Democrats.
#62 NewOrleansPuma – it does not have to mean that we, the voters, sit around and do nothing about it…
You got that right! We have only just begun the fight to take back our democrary.
new orleans puma — totally agree, but on a more important topic, question for you:
petite fours are one of the major food groups and are acceptably nutritious for breakfast, right?
Here a website with a lot of information on ACORN from the Employment Policies Institute in Washington.
The ACORN manual was quoted: “This is a mass organization where might makes right”.
And, from founding ACORN organizer, Gary Delgado:
“Of course they thought we were going to register Republicans. We did not register a single Republican voter in that election. However, we did use those resources early on to build the organization…that money enabled us to hire our first additional organizer after me.”

I think you must be referring to the New Orleans Breakfast of Champions – Beignets.
A word of caution – please do not confuse them with bidets.
Agree with everything, but would like to point out that I think the “negligible” adjective applies to overall new voters. 1.3 million really is a drop in the bucket compared to even a normal election year. I was actually surprised the number was so low. I had imagined that there would be 10 million new voters or so, and that might have been insurmountable. (I know there are more new registrants than ACORN submitted, of course).
Subject: Nickles & Dimes..change, change – who wants change?
From a friend:
“Change … Change .. Change!!!!!!!!!!
Not long ago I read a joke … It said all the politicians running for president are promising change to the American people. We send them billions and billions of tax dollars and they send us the change.
Funny?
Not really; there is too much truth in it to be funny.
That got me to thinking …. They all promise change. How about if they run on a promise of restoration rather than change. A restoration that would take us back in time to a place where things ran better, smoother and life was more enjoyable. Change? That, in truth, is what they have been giving us all along.
We used to have a strong dollar … Politicians changed that.
Life used to be sacred …. Politicians changed that.
Marriage used to be sacred … Politicians are changing that.
We used to be respected around the world … Politicians changed that.
We used to have a strong manufacturing economy … Politicians changed that.
We used to have lower tax structures … Politicians changed that.
We used to enjoy more freedoms … Politicians changed that.
We used to be a large exporter of American made goods … Politicians changed that.
We used to be an openly Christian nation … Politicians changed that.
We used to teach patriotism in schools … Politicians changed that.
We used to educate children in schools … Politicians changed that.
We used to enjoy freedom of speech … Politicians changed that.
We used to enforce LEGAL citizenship … Politicians changed that.
We used to have affordable food & gas prices … Politicians changed that, too. … and one could go on and on with this list.
What hasn’t been changed, politicians are promising to change that as well if you will elect them.
When, oh when, is America going to sit back with open eyes and look at what we once were and where we have come and say, enough is enough?
The trouble is, America’s youthful voters today don’t know of the great America that existed forty and fifty years ago. They see the world as if it has always existed, as it is now.
When will we wake up? Tomorrow may be too late. When will America realize … Politicians are what is wrong with America?”
#23TexasTigress: Once again your imagination (imagination for me is the highest most accurate faculty we humans have…it is not equivalent to fantasy..it is the overriding undestanding by intuition and truth of what the rightness of things should be!..It is the place of excellence!..where we must always struggle to be and seek: See Jacques Maritain’s Knowledge and the Creative Imagination..not now..but way, way way later!) perceives the Truth….5 extra A+s and no homework for the rest of the year!

Democrats for McCain head dude, Frank Dudenhefer , is being interviewed on Fox.
just heard on the news the administration wants to send out another stimulous check before the holiday seasons so we can go out and buy more junk from china..
NOP – YEA !!!!!!!!!! No more homework !!!
#69Murphy: You are, once again, absolutely correct! In fact, they were after 3 months in Texas after Katrina, one of the things I kept seeing in my brain in the morning, afternoon, and weekends….and when I returned the first thing I did was buy two dozen, along with two chocalate eclairs for my friend who loves them and two Napoleons for me, who loves them and on the day of my arrival brought them to her house..and spent several hours eating all of them with coffee…Yes…although we did save 4 petite fours for her family…noblesse oblige and all!
On the other hand, Grizzly’s distinction is as well a very important one to remember for BREAFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER….AS WELL AS SNACKS! (lOVE THAT gRIZZLY)
Good morning Pumas! This is my first post, though I´ve been “lurking” since before the National Convention. Murphy´s “hello out there” (though not exact quote…) the other day made me decide to sign in finally to encourage you all a bit.
Keep up the good work. I just arrived back to the States from having lived in Spain for a few years, and am so comforted to know that there are still rational and independent-minded citizens–even though the consensus in Europe is that the messiah is the “One” that will make America a “friendlier” place for the world. hmmm.
This is now one of my main sources of information and links, and I love the ideas that you all are coming up with. I´m in my home state of Montana for the elections (by no means a swing state at the national level…), but I´ve been sending letters to my congressmen (2 Democrats, 1 Republican). I´m hoping to be more involved with Puma´s post-election efforts, as I´ll be moving to Philadelphia in November.
Know that your blogging is being watched…I´m guessing by a lot of like-minded people, but also likely by obots looking for dirt. Now that I´m signed in, I´m hoping to be able to post every once in awhile…time and braincells permitting.
Keep being great, and know that you´ve got a fan even in the Red State of Montana!

This may be heresy to some, but everyday I send an e-mail to HRC quoting Robert Kennedy:
“Every time we turn our heads the other way when we see the laws flouted; when we tolerate what we know to be wrong; when we close our eyes and ears to the corrupt because we are too busy or too frightened; when we fail to speak up and speak out –We strike a blow AGAINST freedom and decency and justice.
-Robert F Kennedy”
Murphy: I have eaten many a petite four for breakfast and repeated what my Irish working class machinist daddy used to say when he had just had a great New Orleans meal cooked by my mama::Man…I wonder what the poor people are doing! He also told me when I went to Boston to make sure I always had at least one stick of real butter in the ice box…When I asked why…he said, if money gets tight…to remind you that things will get better! Of course my French mother thought this…well…I can not say what she thought this!
I did do that in Boston and as a freelance editor, sometimes I looked at that butter and laughed…as I waited for my check!
I got to go do some puma work. Catch all all of you later.

#93 New Orleans
When I was a kid during the Great Depression, I saw that at a friend’s house they had white butter. When I came home I asked my mother why we couldn’t have white butter. I didn’t know about oleo until then. (when the dairy industry wouldn’t allow oleo to be colored yellow). Now, we were excruciatingly poor, but we had butter to go on our sugar sandwiches.
My children were always amused by my tales of the depression, but we really did walk to school in piles of snow, no snow pants, gloves, or boots, but we had butter.
Oh…and what were the poor people doing in New Orleans re petite fours? They were eating them too..
Alas, one of the sad results of Katrina is a rather steep- increase in prices and a decrease of what used to be everywhere outlets for excellent Petite Fours and everything else….but…
back to the election!

THAT’S MIAMI, ARE YOU HERE?
This just in from the Drudge Report. Obama campaign issuing “talking points” to the MSM 12 hours BEFORE the Debate:
——– Original Message ——–

From: Sean Smith [s***mith@barackobama.com]

* This is John McCain’s last chance to turn this race around and somehow convince the American people that his erratic response to this economic crisis doesn’t disqualify him from being President.
* Just this weekend the weekend, John McCain vowed to “whip Obama’s you-know-what” at the debate, and he’s indicated that he’ll be bringing up Bill Ayers to try to distract voters.
* So we know that Senator McCain will come ready to attack Barack Obama and bring his dishonorable campaign tactics to the debate stage.
Obama continues to lead on the economic crisis with a rescue plan for Main Street.
* Over the course of the campaign, Barack Obama has laid out a set of policies that will grow our middle class and strengthen our economy.
* But he knows we face an immediate economic emergency that requires urgent action – on top of the plans he’s already laid out – to help workers and families and communities struggling right now.
* That’s why Barack Obama is introducing a comprehensive four-part Rescue Plan for the Middle Class – to immediately to stabilize our financial system, provide relief to families and communities, and help struggling homeowners.
* This is a plan that can and should be implemented immediately.
* Obama has shown steady leadership during this crisis and offered concrete solutions to move the country forward – and his Rescue Plan for the Middle Class builds on the plans to strengthen the economy and rebuild the middle class that he’s laid out over the course of this campaign.
* Already in this campaign, he’s unveiled plans to give 95 percent of workers and their families a tax cut, eliminate income taxes for seniors making under $50,000, bring down the cost of health care for families and businesses; and create millions of new jobs by investing in the renewable energy sources.
* John McCain has been erratic and unsteady since this crisis began – staggering from position to position and trying to change the subject away from the economy by launching false character attacks.

** Jodie Evans: As I reported last week and in this column the week before, Barack Obama filed a report with the FEC revealing that one of his campaign finance bundlers is none other than Jodie Evans, a radical, anti-American activist who helped orchestrate a scheme that provided $600,000 in aid to Islamic terrorists in Iraq. When she wasn’t determinedly undermining U.S. troops in Iraq, Evans was working to help advance the anti-American Marxist regimes of Fidel Castro in Cuba and Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Evans isn’t just a Barack Obama fundraising bundler; she also put together Obama’s first Hollywood fundraiser and launched the Code Pink “Listen Hillary” campaign against Obama’s chief Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Those aren’t talking points- that’s a copy of the script for Keith Olbermann’s teleprompter tonite. Now, how did Drudge get a hold of that?
#99Atypical: Yes..and that butter or whatever else the item might have been were images for the imagination to continue to “see” beyond the present to something better as much as it was a literal reminder and pleasure in the midst of shortage. At least, this is how I undestand my depression era parents’ stories passed down to us and taught as an example of how to see the world…no matter the circumstance.
Prior to this election and about two or three years ago I began to wonder if this generation and younger would have that kind of imagination and spirit if the economy tanked…Then, I had concluded…NO…but since PumaPac and the rebellion out there, I am so heartened to say that…Yes…there are many and NO there are many also…good enough for me to persist!
Barack Hussein Obama ( aka) Barry Soetoro reminds me of the bad guy in school where no matter what you saw him doing you said nothing or Else this is what happens:

Interesting observation from Karl Rove.
It’s probably just me …. but everytime I see Obama’s picture I immediatly burst into “Take that Look off your Face ” from “Tell Me on a Sunday” by Andrew Lloyd Webber . Is anyone else burdened with this strange affliction ?
” Take that look off your face.
I can see through your smile.
You would love to be right.

couldn’t wait to bring all of that bad news to my door.

#99atypical: My mother used to talk about having sugar sandwiches too and when there was no sugar, she said her daddy (French) would cut the ends off of French Bread, take out some of the core, and pour Condensced Milk in it…with a big cup of coffee..Breakfast. One of the few depression era things she would do for herself every now and then.. She liked it.I could not stomachthe thought…and of course she never offerred that to us…always up and cooking breafast everyday! She did not want her children, even if she liked it, having to eat anything that meanti n her mind..some l
kind of want regarding food from her experience.
#197NobleCascade: Now that is an interesting and important set of numbers for sure. If people vote their preferences , simply regarding these matters then Obama should be defeated …..just on that basis.
Welcome mtsharpshooter: I sure hope you have some ‘uplifting’ words for us.Our main subject is ‘depressing’
#89osakapuma…THAT has got to be the QUOTE OF THE DAY for me…just the laugh I really needed today. Do you mind if I “steal” it to post on another forum, I will give you the credit!

#91 NewOrleansPuma and Murphy–
Dang it! Now I’m craving petite fours and I just got back from the gym!
From what I am hearing outside blogosphere, the question of whether ‘white America’ is ready to elect a black president has been transformed by all the rhetoric and accusations of being ‘racist’ if one does not vote for Obama, and the threats of violent riots or race war if he is not elected.
The question, now ,is whether ‘white’ America will ALLOW this man to be the first black president. Perhaps, if he had been honest about who he really is from the start. But it’s way too late for that.
Now, the answer is an emphatic and resounding “NO!”
Not THIS black man with his hate-spewing wife.
McCain doesn’t ‘appear’ to be fighting back because he knows he doesn’t HAVE to. Why do you think he has that smug kind of grin on his face all the time.
Sorry, BO, but not THIS time. You should have known that when you call someone a name, they will play the game. You called Whiteys ‘racist’ and now they are rising up to prove you RIGHT. Good-bye, Barack. Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot Murphy for helping me log in.

I’m not sure if the younger generations, far removed from their grandparent’s or parent’s slight remembrances from the Great Depression, will be able to adjust to a more frugal lifestyle. Will they do without their Wiis or their restaurant dinners or their Hummers, etc??You know what I mean?
I guess after reading all of the posts that the Obama’s really feel they have this all tied up pretty in pink. Oh well, I am not going to feel defeated. I beleve that Rasmussen is inflated and Mccain is closer than the polls are showing. The #’s of folks coming out to hear them speak is large; there is interest in their message . Maybe wishful thinking on my part! As someone stated early where are his buddies, Nancy, Harry, John, Ted, Dean are they not so proud of their candidate at this point? Hmmm!

There are legitimate concerns about Obama. But I think the charges against ACORN are false. They are in fact part of a Republican attack on voting rights.
Report by Greg Palast on nationwide Republican voter suppression:
http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/9/greg_palast_on_vote_rigging_and
Today’s Democracy Now features a debate between an ACORN representative and an accusing Republican lawyer. During an election year, nothing is what it seems, and it’s best to hear both sides of the story.
Murphy,
If you need someone who speaks Spanish, let me know. If there´s a way that my Master in Political and Corporate Communication can be of use, too….

Thanks!
#113 Pookie,
Oooooh, “uplifting words”, huh?
Uplifting message of the day: Individuals and Freedom
One thing that I believe and keep telling myself is that we are a great country. But it´s not the sheer size, the geographical diversity or even the (historical, perhaps) economic prowess of the United States that makes it so amazing. No, no. The amazing thing about the US is this: “We the people”. WE are the reason behind the size (had the colonies disagreed and not joined “Project USA”…had the Civil War ended differently…). WE are the reason for the economic prowess—hard-working Americans who found companies, who produce goods, who settle and farm land, who invent, who research and study…. WE are the United States of America.
Surely some of you are going to say that this is a bit of a wack-o patriotic rant, and it may be just that, but the Founding Fathers put the People/Citizens before the Country (and definitely before political parties) in the preamble of the Constitution. It was not the “United States” writing the Constitution. It was “We the people of the United States”: a conglomeration of individuals of different nationalities and creeds deciding that they wanted freedom and a government of the people, by the people and for the people, and that they would be willing to “agree to disagree” with people of other nationalities and creeds for the sake of having and preserving that freedom for themselves and their children.
This concept of “freedom”, according to the philosophical definition on Dictionary.com is “the power to exercise choice and make decisions without constraint from within or without; autonomy; self-determination.” How does that tie into politics? Well, I would suggest a few “freedoms” that are implied. We have the freedom to be ranting—to write letters, to post signs/distribute pamphlets, to talk to other people about our views. We have the freedom to demand recounts of votes and transparency at the polls (you think they can do that in Venezuela?). We have the freedom to be involved in the political process…to the extent that we choose. We are not obligated to vote, as in Argentina, but we have the opportunity to have our say. What a thing of luxury is this concept of freedom!
And so, emPOWERed Pumas (and lurkers reading this post), remember to take advantage of your freedoms. Put on your bumper stickers. Don´t be afraid to write letters to the editor and to your congressmen. You have the freedom to be involved in the political system of your Country, and that Country will continue to be great because of the People.

Folks take a look….people are flipping out about this article on Greta wire.
NEWS FLASH! (AP) – Due to voter registration fraud in many states, the General Election has been moved back one day to Wednesday, November 5th, 2008.
Vote early, vote often!
ANY vote coming from ACORN should be discarded, the VOTER FRAUD for that “organization” is not the EXCEPTION, it is the RULE! People who wish to vote can carry their I.D.s and wait in line with the rest of us, and cast their votes! I even think all absentee ballots should be discontinued, if you can not vote on the day set up you can cast a provisional ballot or forget it, desperate times will demand desperate measures!
To say any part of this is REPUBLICAN smears is ridiculous! I guess the Republicans got witness after witness after witness that ALL told the same stories of what ACORN is doing!
