Yikes!

I guess the sky really IS falling. More HERE, HERE, and HERE. Krugman tells us we’re in big trouble, we’ll all know what an “international finance multiplier” is soon enough. I’m afraid it sounds like something that metastatizes.  ugh.

REPOST: Obama versus Palin Thought for the Day:

Watched Sarah Palin’s rally in Clearwater, Florida this morning and couldn’t help of think of Britain’s Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher, who said:

“If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.”

Quote applies to Murphy, Mama and all you wonderful Lady PUMA’s out there fighting hard and inspiring millions of us.

Even us PUMA men.

Good morning — Love you guys!!

From an email making the rounds:

“George Bush has been in office for 7-1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high–14,000 +
5) American’s were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations
overseas, living large!…

But American’s wanted ‘CHANGE’! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes–we got ‘CHANGE’ all right.

In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
2) Gasoline is now near $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12
TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~

$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS, INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE…AND WE SURE GOT IT! ….

REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS. AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!!”

JUST HOW MUCH MORE ‘CHANGE’ DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

Boy, it’s hard keeping up today – This is my third? repost. I think this is important. I’d love to see Congress flooded with emails and letters about Obama’s eligibility to run. Let them know we will never view him as legitimate without an objective, court review of his citizenship credentials. Why would anyone try to get out of proving citizenship when you’re running for President? Only makes sense if you can’t.

Repost from Snoppy:

Stop the Obama Constitutional Crisis
Sign the Petition : 177 Letters and Emails Sent So Far

http://www.rallycongress.com/constitutional-qualification/1244/stop-obama-constitutional-crisis/

Only 177 letters and emails sent so far – we can do better – The letter informs our representatives of the Berg lawsuit and urges that a Court determine Obama’s eligibility to be President before the election.

It can’t be true! Obama “rescued” us all after all! It’s why all voters love him so right now. Or so the media tells us.

and click on the
CALL button.

Choose these states,
in this order: PA, FL, OH, VA, CO, NV, WI

We also need at least
100 callers per day.
If you can call and

This is worth checking out folks they are running an ad in MI that connects Obama to his “friends” of question.

From the American Defense Fund:
Dear Newsmax Reader:

Please find below a special message from our sponsor, Freedom’s Defense Fund. They have important information to share with you. Thank you.

Newsmax.com

Dear Friends,

CLICK HERE to view the commercials that the New York Times called “two of the roughest advertisements of the political season.”

Yep, on the front page.

CLICK HERE TO READ THE ARTICLE.

You see, Freedom’s Defense Fund is on TV in Macomb County, Michigan with television ads telling the truth about Barack Obama. Simply put, nobody else is running commercials like this. Not the McCain campaign, not the Republican National Committee, nobody.

So far we have done ads about about Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, his ties to corrupt Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and convicted felon and major Obama donor, Tony Rezko.

CLICK HERE to see the commercials.

We are running these ads in Macomb County outside Detroit because Macomb is the original home of the “Reagan Democrats.” It is impossible for Barack Obama to win the White House if he does not win Michigan. Macomb County holds the key to that state.

So we need your help TODAY to keep running these ads and many more just like them in battleground states across America. Please CLICK HERE to help us keep this ad on the air.

Friends, with a relatively small amount of money, we have already been featured in the New York Times, the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press, and other news papers all across America. We have also been featured on MSNBC and CBS News. Just think what we could do if we had a little more money to stay on the airwaves.

By the way, we know we’re striking a nerve too. Recently, the liberal Governor of Michigan called us racist. That’s what liberals always do when they don’t like your message. So please, CLICK HERE and help us today!

Here he goes again when his corruption and corrupt connections are questioned he says oh no it’s not me see how bad the other guy is…I’m pure and innocent……..uuugggh ….ralph.

From Obama email:
“In that crisis, John McCain and his political patron, Charles Keating, played central roles that ultimately landed Keating in jail for fraud and McCain in front of the Senate Ethics Committee. The McCain campaign has tried to avoid talking about the scandal, but with so many parallels to the current crisis, McCain’s Keating history is relevant and voters deserve to know the facts — and see for themselves the pattern of poor judgment by John McCain.

So at noon Eastern on Monday, October 6th, we’re releasing a 13-minute documentary about the scandal called “Keating Economics: John McCain and the Making of a Financial Crisis” — it will be available at KeatingEconomics.com, along with background information that every voter should know. “

#56 Gogandalf on 10.06.08 at 10:25 am

Now what is going on with the MEN??? At least Nationally

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Monday, October 06, 20008 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 44%. This is the highest level of support ever recorded for Obama and is his largest lead of the year. It also continues a remarkable twenty-five days in a row where the Democrat’s support has never declined by even a single point. The Democratic candidate has gained six full percentage points of support since Lehman Brothers collapsed to start the Wall Street mess (see trends).

Tracking Poll results are released every day at 9:30 a.m. Eastern and a FREE daily e-mail update is available.

The Rasmussen Consumer Index, a daily measure of economic confidence, shows that both consumer and investor confidence has dipped slightly since Congress passed the financial bailout bill on Friday. If people could vote on whether to keep or replace the entire Congress, just 17% would vote to keep them and 59% would replace the entire Congress and start over again.

Data will be released later today on whether voters see a conflict between economic growth and protecting the environment (Premium Members can see the results now).

As for the Presidential race, Obama now leads by two points among men. That’s the first time he has led among men all year and he also enjoys a fourteen point advantage among women. Obama attracts 12% of Republican voters and leads by eleven among those not affiliated with either major political party. McCain gets the vote from 11% of Democrats

Desperation is written all over NObama’s face, he will run 13 minutes documentary about Keating 5 wherein McCain was exonerated. Will NObama include 4 democrats in his so-called documentary film?

Why is it NObama is hiding his school record at Colombia University, why is it he can’t point a single name of a friend while studying in Colombia University?

I truly believe NObama is supported by Radical Islam, we’ve seen Al-Monsoor calling for the death of whites, his hatred towards the jews, the same with Khalidi.

People try to cover NObama saying he’s not a Muslim, he is a MUSLIM. As my friend Farouk said to me one time who happens to be a Muslim, NObama is a Muslim that’s why Middle Easterners are heavily supporting him including Hamas.

I grew up with Muslims, we duke it out with them for years and continue to the present. It is normal for a Muslim to change their religion to Christianity to forward their agenda. NObama said in his book the sound of chanting the Quran is the most beautiful sound in the morning when he was living in Indonesia. Indonesia has the biggest Muslim population around the world. Christian churches in Indonesia are being destroyed by radical Muslims, the same thing happened in Kenya.

Obama’s Radical-Left Ties Broad And Deep
National Review Online: Senator Approves Of The Political-Theological Outlooks Of Michael Pfleger and Jeremiah Wright
June 2, 2008

Lucky for Obama, this political background is unfamiliar to most Americans. There are others who share Obama’s approach, however. Take a look at this piece by Manhattan Institute scholar Steven Malanga on “The Rise Of The Religious Left” and you will see exactly where Obama is coming from. Malanga ends his account by noting that religious-left activists often partner with groups like MoveOn.org and attend gatherings featuring speakers like Michael Moore. After the 2004 election, there was some talk of the Democratic party “purging” MoveOn and Moore. Far from purging its radical Left, however, the Democratic party is now just inches away from placing it in the driver’s seat. That is the real meaning of the fiasco at Trinity Church.

Obama’s words & deeds

By Ralph R. Reiland
Monday, October 6, 2008

In March, Barack Obama’s speech in Philadelphia on race was inspiring and knowledgeable.

Attempting to put the Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy behind him, Obama said he had “already condemned, in unequivocal terms,” Wright’s “inexcusable,” “divisive,” and “racially charged” comments.

Wright’s “incendiary language,” he said, expressed “views that have the potential not only to widen the racial divide, but views that denigrate both the greatness and the goodness of our nation.” Wright’s criticisms of the United States, additionally, were based on “a profoundly distorted view of this country, a view that sees white racism as endemic and elevates what is wrong in America above all that we know is right with America.”

story continues below

The “offending sermons about America” by Wright, asserted Obama, were rooted in the past, in “a reality in which Rev. Wright and other African-Americans of his generation grew up,” a generation that “came of age in the late fifties and early sixties, a time when segregation was still the law of the land and opportunity was systematically constricted.”

It is this past that lives on in “the bitterness and bias” that make up the black experience in America, Obama explained, quoting William Faulkner: “The past isn’t dead and buried. In fact, it isn’t even passed.”

Despair is the price of keeping this bitterness alive, the price of the endless preaching about past wrongs. The “legacy of defeat,” said Obama, “was passed on to future generations, to those young men and increasingly young women who we see standing on street corners or languishing in our prisons, without hope or prospects for the future.”

Unfortunately, to keep things from cooling down, to keep the money rolling their way, there’s no shortage of hucksters who are willing and able to fan the flames of anger.

“At times, that anger,” said Obama, “is exploited by politicians, to gin up votes along racial lines” — and to gin up the flow of money from the pews.

“That anger is not always productive,” Obama asserted. “Indeed, all too often it distracts attention from solving real problems; it keeps us from squarely facing our own complicity in our condition.”

Why, then, given this call to reject “a politics that breeds division, and conflict, and cynicism,” did Obama establish a long-lasting working relationship with unrepentant former terrorist William Ayers?

Obama dismissed inquiries about his relationship with Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground, by saying that he was just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

In fact, Obama served from 1995 to 1999 as chairman of the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), the brainchild of Ayers, an organization that funneled some $100 million into the hands of community organizers and activists, including ACORN, in order to radicalize Chicago’s public schools.

Between 1969 and 1974, the Weather Underground claimed responsibility for some 20 bombings in the United States — at police stations, banks, jails, courthouses, the Capitol and the Pentagon. Ayers became a fugitive in 1970, reports Andy McCarthy at the National Review, after three of his cohorts were “accidentally killed when the explosive they were building to Ayers’ specifications — Ayers was a bomb designer — went off during construction.”

The explosive, a nail bomb, “had been intended for detonation at a dance that was to be attended by army soldiers at Fort Dix, New Jersey,” reports McCarthy. “Ayers attested that the bomb would have done serious damage, ‘tearing through windows and walls and, yes, people too.’”

Ayers, describing the Weather Underground as “an American Red Army,” motivated by “hope,” succinctly summed up the organization’s mission: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments.”

“I don’t regret setting bombs,” Ayers told The New York Times in September 2001. “I feel we didn’t do enough.”

Ayers, in charge of shaping CAC’s education philosophy, describes himself as “a radical, Leftist, small ‘c’ communist.” Rather than focusing on anything as mundane as math or reading, the job of teachers, said Ayers, is to “teach against oppression.”

Ayers “downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism,” writes Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

“Ayers wrote that teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression,” reports Kurtz. “He believes teacher education programs should serve as ‘sites of resistance’ to an oppressive system.”

The question: Why do Obama’s deeds contradict his words? Is anyone in the mainstream media curious?

‘ Oh,’ said the man, ‘ whose clock is that? ‘

‘ That’ s Mother Teresa’s.

The hands have never moved , indicating
that she never told a lie.

‘ Incredible ,’ said the man.

‘And whose clock is that one?’

St. Peter responded, ‘ That’ s Abraham Lincoln’s clock .

The hands

#106TexasTigress: George Bush has in place and has had for a while (I used to know the # if it, maybe someone else does) an Executive Order that among other things says that martial law and other means can be used here if an event anywhere in the world threatens the interests of the US. This event does not have to be a threat of war or violent act. The order simply defines it as an event that threatens the interest of the US anywhere in the world.
Comments about this order at the time that I read indicated that if it appeared that Obimbo would win the election, given his views on Iran, et al, the administration did not want him to have the authority to handle Iran et al. and would perhaps stop the election under the aegis of martial law in response to some event. Certainly the economic events of the past two weeks will continue to have repercussions…Whatever the case, we are in for times never before seen here. I have just not figured out yet from what venues and why…though all are connected to the 1% global market money people , some of whom supported Bush and some of whom (the same or not I do not know) also support Obimb.

There is nothing new about this scenario. It was predicted long, long ago in the early 90′s. The economic situation today is not only an outcome of greedy lending and finacial practices. It is also the precursor to suspending elections and instituting martial law by Executive order, as allowed under the United Nations Charter, signed in 1946.

How are you feeling about the presidential election?

Great. I am very confident the candidate I feel is best for the job is going to win.: 5.1% (2 votes)
Uneasy. I think the wrong man is going to get voted into office.: 51.3% (20 votes)
Indifferent. This year it’s a question of the lesser of two evils … neither candidate is a great choice.: 41.0% (16 votes)
I really don’t care which candidate wins. I think either would make a fine president.: 2.6% (1 vote)
39 votes cast

Who was it that said, “I live for disasters”?

Answer: George Carlin on The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder in 1999.

Dow now down to 9890.14.

I’m not worried. I know what George really meant. I live to make THE BEST from a disaster.

I’m about to put 25% of my 401k into a diversified stock fund.

I am hoping the same thing too, I want it to hit 4 or 5, then our trading will start to recover. The world market is depending on USA to recover faster to pull them out of bed. If USA do not recover right away, global economy would be in much worse predicament. This is the best time also for our country to start building our natura gas pipeline from Alaska all the way to lower 48, speed up research and implimentation of renewable energy; this would put millions of Americans to work.

Something’s good is coming out of this in favor of USA. We must cut taxes and cut our expenditures, I agree with McCain economic plan. This is BAD NEWS for the Democratic Party; they’re the root cause of this problem starting from Clinton Administration. It was the explosion of DOTCOM that made Clinton Administration explode, by 1998, it started to slow down. I remember stocks of excite hitting $500/share, it was a bubble economy. That bubble economy started to lose air in the late 90′s.

More than 4 million Hoosiers registered to vote marking a new record just days before the state’s voter registration deadline Monday. In Lake county, there have been reports of fraudulent voter registration applications. One registration filed by a canvassing group was for a Gary man who died last year, Lake county’s GOP chairman said, while another was registered to the name ‘Jimmy Johns’ and included the phone # of a Jimmy Johns sandwich shop. Lake County Election Board Director Sally LaSota said her office is working to check all voter registration applications and verify real voters

If you all remember during the primaries Lake County did not have their results until about 4 AM so no one knew who won that evening( Bo won in Lake County) Hillary won in Indiana but not by much because of the counties up near Chicago.

MRC’s Seton Motley on FNC’s Fox & Friends
By NB Staff (Bio | Archive)
October 3, 2008 – 11:38 ET

The Media Research Center’s Director of Communications and NewsBusters.org Contributing Editor Seton Motley appeared this morning on the Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends to discuss the media’s ongoing silence about the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, better known by it’s acronym, ACORN.

Seton asserts that the media has remained steadfastly silent about ACORN due to the group’s extensive and extended connections with Sen. Obama, and have done so so as not to damage Sen. Obama’s chances in this year’s Presidential election.

ACORN Watch: Wisconsin dirty deeds
By Michelle Malkin • October 3, 2008 12:42 PM

An official with the Republican National Committee said Thursday that a group involved with voter registration drives in Milwaukee is “engaged in systematic fraud and attempts to undermine our electoral system.”
The comments came from Sean Cairncross, the party’s chief lawyer, during a conference call with reporters in the wake of a report that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) had hired at least seven felons as voter registration workers in the city.
The Journal Sentinel has reported on problems with voter registration cards submitted to the city by workers for the group and another liberal group, the Community Voters Project.

Maybe this type of stupidity is similar to falling in love and later finding out that person isn’t as good as they pretended to be. It takes awhile to ‘get over’ them. Plant the seeds in Democrats heads so when they go into the voting booth, they will have second thoughts of four years of a person they really don’t love.

My prowl for the day (while I am at work is to get Hannity’s video out all over the internet)
I prowl in places like HuffPo, post on every article as if I am a concerned Democrat that wonders if this is true and if McCain will use it in the debate against Obie. Try to sound innocent of the issues and stir their curiosity into watching it.

I’m going to remember what you have just said and will remind you of it at the appropriate time.

Let’s see… today is October 6, 2008. Under the thread “Yikes” Osaka says I will lose my 25% 401k investment.

When the Dow gets below 9500 I’ll do it and be the richer for it come March of next year (my birthday). A 6% return in 5 months is the goal. Grooooovy. Osaka says I will lose my money.

Okay. Set. We shall see who knows their disasters and money matters better: Osaka or maxgrader. I only hope PUMA is still around when I get to see someone eat crow.

Being confident is so sexy, wouldn’t you all agree?

“Being confident is so sexy, wouldn’t you all agree?”

Depends on the degree and type of confidence. The continuum runs the gammut from blowhard confidence (which belies inadequacy), and the kind of confidence that is grounded in competency.

I suppose the lower end of the scale might be sexy if one is into SM, B&D, or just ignorant.

Greenfun:

called AP: told the lady who answered why i was calling, advised that Mr. Daniels had stated that Sara Palin’s remarks were racist regarding Ayers and asked what exactly is racism when he stated “that most terrorists are brown colored skin”, the lady said oh my god and sent me to a comment line where I left the same remark. Also said that America has a right to hear about Senator Obama’s associations that is not racism.

Although this is about Sara Palin, the racism issue has to stop.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Monday is launching a multimedia campaign to draw attention to the involvement of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the “Keating Five” savings-and-loan scandal of 1989-91, which blemished McCain’s public image and set him on his course as a self-styled reformer.

Pushing back against what it calls McCain’s “guilt-by-association” tactics, the Obama campaign overnight began e-mailing millions of supporters a link to a website, KeatingEconomics.com, which will have a 13-minute documentary on the scandal beginning at noon Eastern time on Monday. The e-mails urge recipients to pass the link on to friends.

Boy, it’s hard keeping up today – This is my fourth?

Sign the Petition : 270 Letters and Emails Sent So Far

http://www.rallycongress.com/constitutional-qualification/1244/stop-obama-constitutional-crisis/

Only 270 letters and emails sent so far – we can do better – The letter informs our representatives of the Berg lawsuit and urges that a Court determine Obama’s eligibility to be President before the election.

#213 bluesgal on 10.06.08 at 2:54 pm

Did anyone see Fox News this morning? An anchorwoman said she got an e-mail from someone who said he voted 3 times for McCain today. Sounds fishy to me. Sounds like an Obot.

#214 bluesgal on 10.06.08 at 3:06 pm

Someone suggested making dvd copies of Hannity’s show last night. I think that is a good idea. If someone could make cop[ies on their computers with cheap dvd’s and pass them out at supermarkets and places like Walmart. I would but my computer CD and DVD don’t work now. I don’t know what happened to it. I think an Obot put a virus on it. Anyway, if someone was to make these, try to think of a good title to put on it. Hannity’s America Bombshell or something like that.

There is alot of people that don’t get Fox News. I know a couple of people who don’t. I do have a DVD recorder and VCR combo. But it will tape on only higher priced DVD’s. I may tape a few from my VCR (I taped it too)to give to my uncle who lives in another state, who doesn’t get Fox. He is not voting for BO but he says he can’t vote for McCain either. He doesn’t know all these things. He watches CNN. I keep telling him, they are for OB. This will really show what CNN is not reporting.
