holy smokes.

“There is desperation in the air.”

“Borrowing rates remained very high on Monday despite the passage of the Americanbailout plan, although proponents of that package argue that its longer-term benefits will take time to carry out. Still, some gauges of anxiety in the market again reached record highs as the week began, and a benchmark overnight borrowing rate, the Libor rate, moved higher. A measure of volatility, the VIX index, jumped to its highest intraday level ever.” [source: NYT]

I’m just hoping all the Obama supporters were watching Fox news last night. They had some info in there that I had never heard of about THE ONE.

The other SNL skit. Since it doesn’t mention Palin, no one talks about it, but it’s actually funny and accurate – showing how Democrats created the crisis

Computer geniuses–

I copied the Fox investigation into Realplayer, but I can’t burn it to DVD because it has the wrong file extension for Windows movie maker. I don’t want to convert it in RealPlayer because then I have to pay $40 for a special version of RealPlayer. Any ideas how I can get this into Windows movie maker and burn it?

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Monday is launching a multimedia campaign to draw attention to the involvement of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the “Keating Five” savings-and-loan scandal of 1989-91, which blemished McCain’s public image and set him on his course as a self-styled reformer.

Pushing back against what it calls McCain’s “guilt-by-association” tactics, the Obama campaign overnight began e-mailing millions of supporters a link to a website, KeatingEconomics.com, which will have a 13-minute documentary on the scandal beginning at noon Eastern time on Monday. The e-mails urge recipients to pass the link on to friends.

This is why Obama wants everyone’s text message and email………….. the drama is building for a bloody fight until Nov. 4th.

Since Ayers is in the forefront now, I thought I’d post some of the info I gathered on his relationship with Obama. Here it is:

In 1985 the Woods foundation gave a $25,000 grant to the Developing Communities Project (aka the “DCP”), which hired Obama, at 24, as an organizer on Chicago’s economically depressed South Side.” The Woods Fund was founded by the Woods family which owned the Illinois-based Sahara Coal Company, a major supplier of coal from its mines to major Illinois power companies. Commonwealth Edison, the giant Chicago-based electric power company was headed by Thomas Ayers, father of Bill Ayers.

Ayers’ wife, Bernadette Dorn in the late 80s worked in the law firm Sidley & Austin at the same time as Michelle Obama (then Robinson). In 1989 Obama interned at Sidley&Austen as an associate. (Sidley&Austin was also the law firm used by Tom Ayers, Bill’s father).

So, in 1995 Ayers hires Obama , supposedly unknown to him, 3 years out of law school, to Chair the $50 Million Annenberg Challenge, an education non-profit. The Challenge was an arm of Ayers Chicago School Reform Collaborative. The money was to be used by Ayers and co. to bolster the radical Local School Councils reform project that Ayers and Obama had championed back in 1988 through the ABCs.

The Annenberg Challenge was a failure. Obama stepped down as chair in 1999, but remained on the board. However, during the time with the Challenge, Ayers and Obama sat on panels together , attended speaking engagements, etc.

Obama and Ayers also at that time sat together on the Woods Fund. A non-profit which awarded building grants. One of the grants awarded was to Alison Davis of Davis/Miner lawfirm where Obama worked. Instead of abstaining, Obama voted to approve a $1 million grant to Davis. Davis was also in building ventures with Rezko (convicted felon) at that time.

Grants from the Woods Fund were also provided to the Arab American Action Network(AAAN). The AAAN was headed by Rashid Khalidi . Khalidi previously worked for the PLO and hosted a fund raiser for Obama’s US Senate bid. They went out to dinner , with their wives, together and Michelle Obama attended a party some months ago in honor of the wedding of Khalidi’s daughter. The Bill Ayers’ were also in attendance.

Khalidi said he supports Obama for President “ because he is the only candidate who has expressed sympathy for the Palestinian cause.” Khalidi also lauded Obama for “saying he supports talks with Iran.”

I’ll print the Ayer/Hammond blueprint for Education Reparations later.

They prefer Barack Obama over John McCain by a 2-to-1 margin, seeing him as a chance to achieve positive change and make history.

Just got this in my e-mail. Pretty Interesting…

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California . He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. ‘Barry’ (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan . During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia , next Hyderabad in India , three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family. My question – Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one o f my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York . It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack – not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia ? It’s not cheap to say the least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago ? Why not New York ? He was already living in New York .

By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria , and a real estate developer in Chicago . Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for Law School ? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago . Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented ‘Rezar’ which is Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major fina ncial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago . In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ‘seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans – Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz , Iran ! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley, advisor to Obama, was ‘sacked’ after the press found out he was having regular contacts with ‘Hamas’, which controls Gaza20and is connected with Iran . This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will ‘Take care of things’.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those ‘small’ Internet campaign contributions for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East ?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, ‘he made a mistake’. Some mistake!

This is very interesting and it makes me question “where did the money come from “ Student loans should be easy enough to check on. There has to be a paper trail. Why isn’t some one looking into this instead of just posting this on the web??? Give me information to back this up.

—————————
I saw that interview and obama’s sentence fragment was “inartful” at best. He was saying that at least McCain didn’t get into “his muslim religion”, which was an especially common accusation at the time.

But, when that bit hit the internet it was obviously taken out of context. I don’t see any benefit in including it in the above statement. If anything, it serves to diminish ones credibility.

I was totally into hippies, peace, love, sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
That must have been in the days before I heard of a concept called, “Work.”
I wasn’t into the Black Panthers, too much. But I knew who Huey Newton is and I read Eldridge Cleaver’s “Soul on Ice.” I read about Malcolm X, etc. and some stuff by James Baldwin. And I thought Angela Davis and Patty Hurst had totally lost all their marbles.
Being against the war like we were and the governments’ ‘oppression’, some of us actually thought the Weathermen Underground was a good idea and thought about joining them. Probably would have, too, if it wasn’t for the “sex, drugs, and Rock n Roll” LOL
I was just having WAYYY too much fun in those days.

I said, AMERICA is sick of YOU!

According to Mr. Sutton of Chicago, al Mansour (formerly a Black Panther) and close to the Royal family of Saudi Arabia, approached Mr. Sutton and told him that he (al Mansour) was gathering money to send Obama to Harvard. Al Mansour asked Mr. Sutton for a donation. Obama may be beholding to a whole lot of radicals and foreignors.

NEW Obama camp talking point! I’ve already read a few Obots (today) say that Obama didn’t know about Ayers’ past. WHAT?

#35 murphy on 10.06.08 at 1:32 pm

I watched the whole weather underground clip — it was disturbing.

the SDS/Weather Underground kids were basically repulsive, BUT the vietnam war was a freaking horror show of epic proportions. The footage of the wounded and dead soldiers, the massive bombing of civilian villages, assassinations in the town square, police brutality in the US.

ai-yai-yai. simple chest thumping patriotism today makes NO SENSE when looking back and trying to honestly understand the context of the war protestors.

Like I said, Ayers, Dohrn, and the rest of their group are Repulsive. But that’s only one side of a multi-faceted, interconnected story of corruption, lies, and evil.

Here’s what gets me though. How is it that Bill CLinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry had to fight a never-ending BARRAGE of attacks about what they were doing (or not doing) during the War, but Obama’s connection to the activities of the time are totally off-limits.

I guess the answer is that Obama himself was a little kid at the time, while Clinton, Gore, and Kerry were directly involved. But jeez! Given how INSANE the world was back then, those three guys were MODELS OF RESPONSIBLE AND PRINCIPLED ACTIVISM. Gore and Kerry served and then peacefully protested. Clinton avoided service on principle and peacefully protested. Argue all you want with their decisions, but no decent person who actually lived through those years can compare their actions to Bill frickin Ayers.

WHY is Obama connected to these people? What does he owe them??

PROWL This a a prowl that I’ve been working on and think we should all do it. It’s very easy, I called the Supreme Court and got one fax number for all justices. What’s going on is: Seven Alaska state employees have reversed course and agreed to testify in an investigation into whether Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin abused her
powers by firing a commissioner who refused to dismiss her former brother-in-law.
There is no indication, however, that Palin or her husband will now agree to testify about the case, which has dogged her for the past several months and could hurt John McCain in the final weeks of the presidential race.
Palin, a first-term Alaska governor, is the focus of a
legislative inquiry over her firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan a year after she, her husband and key advisers began questioning him about getting rid of a state trooper who had gone
through a nasty divorce with her sister.
Monegan says he was dismissed because he wouldn’t fire the governor’s former brother-in-law, but Palin contends he was dismissed for insubordination. McCain operatives called Monegan a “rogue” who repeatedly tried to work outside normal channels for requesting money.
Lawmakers subpoenaed seven state employees to testify in the inquiry but they challenged those subpoenas. After a judge rejected a similar challenge brought by state lawmakers last week, employees
decided to testify, Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg said.
Democratic state Sen. Hollis French, who is managing the investigation, said that, following the court ruling, he again asked Palin and her husband, Todd, whether they planned to testify.
“We’ve had no response,” French said Sunday.
Palin says the legislative inquiry has become too political and she believes that only the state’s personnel board should oversee the inquiry. Palin has the authority to fire the members of that board.
Alaska’s Supreme Court, meanwhile, is considering whether to block the findings of the legislative inquiry. The high court scheduled arguments for Wednesday over whether the case is being manipulated to hurt Palin before Election Day on Nov. 4.
The independent investigator conducting the probe plans to turn over his conclusions on the case by next Friday to the Legislative Council, the body that authorized it.

Dear Justices:

Boy, it’s hard keeping up today – This is my fourth? repost. I think this is important. I’d love to see Congress flooded with emails and letters about Obama’s eligibility to run. Let them know we will never view him as legitimate without an objective, court review of his citizenship credentials. Why would anyone try to get out of proving citizenship when you’re running for President? Only makes sense if you can’t.

Hey, PUMAS!
Just heard a great statement from John McCain! Wow, don’t know if I can repeat it verbatim, but essentially he said “every time he has questioned either Obama’s policies or character he has been called a liar rather than receiving a substantive response”. He continued to say, “Obama will try to distract you from the issue . .. finally he said I have never had trouble telling the truth to the American people, but if I needed reminders or assistance I would not go to a Chicago politician”. All right John! It is about time someone said this and stood up to BO.

Notice bobo doesn’t refute any of the stuff on Hannity’s show…. he just starts digging around for some new mud to throw. And the AP is happy to help him sling it….. yet all I hear is a deafening silence on the things aired last night on FOX. I don’t think there’s enough mud in the whole USA to cover up the stuff on Hannity’s show.

#35 murphy I, too, watched the entire Weathermen clip.
My first reaction was, like, “Damn, am I that old!!!!” And then the memories came like opening the floodgates of Grand coulee.
We saw these days coming back then. It’s really hard. Don’t talk about those days too much anymore. Maybe because two of my best friends today were in VietNam.
In fact one of them, today, is getting results from hios recent Bone Scan. It’s suspected he may have leukemia or bone cancer from all the exposure to Agent Orange. (@, 4D, -2, 4, 5, T. Both have told me their some of their horror stories. How appalled they were at all the killing, but also how, for the sake of their own survival, they too joined in the killing and even today they speak of it, in a matter-of-fact tone and say they would have no hesitation to kill again now.
I remember the riots. Kent State University, where 4 students (here in america) were gunned down and killed by our own policemen.
MLK said that “Those who stop peaceful protest (like us PUMAs) will only enable violent protest.(Which I believe will erupt very soon on a even larger scale.)
It’s hard for younf people today to fathom that as many troops that have died in Iraq were killed in a single month in VietNam. Back them the war scenes were plastered all over MSM every day.
Some people actually grew complacent. The, as now, the war devastated the economy, and most ‘back-to-earth hippies’ cut their hair, returned to school and earned degrees, and joined the work force like the rest of americans already were, in order to survive.
Yes, OMG, I hope the memories provoked by the video do not become nightmares again, tonight.

matt2008– how the heck are ya!

I dont think you’re right. I think the broadening financial crisis worldwide actually helps the Republicans. (hate to say a crisis “helps” anyone, but there it is)

First — it’s hard to put ALL the blame on the Repubs if the ENTIRE WORLD is falling apart financially, so it hinders the Dems’ line of attack that EVERYTHING is W’s fault.

Second — if Americans start to get REALLY scared about the global financial situation, the fear will morph into a national security issue — an area in which the voters consistently trust the repubs more than the dems.

Third — when voters crave security they rarely back the CHANGE candidate, the younger candidate, or the challenging party.

Fourth — the RNC attack machine seems to have GEARED up. It’s non-stop ATTACK on Obama’s associates today. He is being painted as DANGEROUS and DECEPTIVE — not good during time of crisis.

Poll Fixing

Here is a detailed description of the Gallup Polling method:

http://media.gallup.com/PDF/FAQ/HowArePolls.pdf

Looking at how they do their phone polling, I could think of a number of ways to do it, especially since they have been including cell phones since Jan 2008.

How many phone numbers do you think the ObamUah campaign has? I’ll bet that the people we are not seeing on the blogs posting, are answering phones from all over the country.

Talking to a friend in NYC this weekend, she was telling me her daughter (who’s in high school) was trying on costumes for a party. My friend pasted her a Hillary mask cuz she has the same skin tone and they are Hill supporters. Her daughter quickly through it down and said “do you want me to get my a$$ kicked”? She went on to tell her mother how bad things were at school. No non-bo opinions allowed. This is an upscale school. She said it is so bad she is expecting a huge brawl any day now. Bottom line support BO or get a butt kicking. Her daughter plays along.
Makes you wonder ‘how many others are playing along’

#26 mountainsong : I remember the days too. I think the problem ( or maybe it was a saving grace)was many, many people were too into pot to accomplish anything. You know it is hard to hold on to radical enthusiasm when you are chronically smoked out. The whole era kind of reminds me of that Simpson’s episode about the marijuana festival which never happens because no one who smokes can get organized or motivated enough to plan it or even show up. Man those were certainly NOT the days!

You know I remember too going to parties and seeing the people who took LSD. WOW were they troubled, frightened and just strange. I remember a bunch of them sitting on the roof one time freaking out and us trying to get them down before they got hurt. TWO THINGS:

FIRST, if you know anyone who lives in TEXAS who may not have registered to vote yet, TODAY is the deadline. Call and tell them to git’r done!

SECONDLY, I have composed the following email and sent to all my email addresses. Thought I’d include it here with the links if anyone else would like to copy and paste it for distribution. The numbers of views on these videos are getting higher but NOT nearly high enough.

Subject line
Obama and Friends ( a must see video from Fox News)

Content:

Each part of this video contains unpublicized or little publicized facts about Obama that voters have a right to know before casting a vote in the upcoming election. Watch it all at once or watch it a little at a time BUT do view all the evidence. Please pass this on to everyone in your address book so those who may have missed the Fox special will have the opportunity to view these facts. Early voting has already begun in many areas. TIME is of the essence.

ELECTION 2008
Democrat sues Sen. Obama over ‘fraudulent candidacy’
Lawsuit disputing U.S. citizenship based in part on discredited claims

Philip J. Berg

A prominent Pennsylvania Democrat has sued Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission, claiming that Obama is not a natural-born citizen and, therefore, is not eligible to be president of the United States.

Philip J. Berg, a former member of Pennsylvania’s Democratic State Committee and former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania, filed the lawsuit this week in U.S District Court, asking the court to declare Obama ineligible for the presidency and to prevent him from running for the position.

However, a WND investigation has found that at least part of Berg’s lawsuit relies on discredited claims.

A separate motion was also filed seeking a temporary restraining order on Obama’s presidential campaign until Obama’s eligibility can be verified.

The lawsuit claims Barack Obama’s eligibility is questionable on several grounds, including the allegation that he was born in Kenya to parents unable to automatically grant him American citizenship, that his Hawaii birth certificate is a forgery – a now discredited claim – that he was made a citizen of Indonesia as a child and that he retained foreign citizenship into adulthood without recording an oath of allegiance to regain any theoretical American citizenship.

In short, the suit claims Obama was not born an American citizen; lost any hypothetical American citizenship he had as a child (Editor’s note: This point is not supported by U.S. citizenship law); may not now be an American citizen and even if he is, may hold dual citizenships with other countries. If any, much less all, of these allegations are true, the suit claims, Obama cannot constitutionally serve as president.

Why would a Democrat do this to his party’s own candidate? And why right before the National Convention?

(Story continues below)

“Eighteen million Democratic Primary voters donated money, volunteered their time and energy, worked very hard and then not only supported Senator Clinton, but voted for her,” Berg stated in a press release about the suit. “All the efforts of supporters of legitimate citizens were for nothing because (Obama) lied and cheated his way into a fraudulent candidacy and cheated legitimately eligible natural born citizens from competing in a fair process.”

Berg explained in a radio interview with Roger Hedgecock of KOGO in San Diego that Internet reports had been persistent over the last several months that Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery and that he may not be an eligible, natural-born citizen. After doing his own careful research, Berg explained, he came to the conclusion the reports were more fact than rumor and that he needed to act quickly, before the election process proceeded.

“I filed this action at this time,” said Berg in a press release, “to avoid the obvious problems that will occur when the Republican Party raises these issues after Obama is nominated.”

School record that lists “Barry Soetoro,” a.k.a. Barack Obama, as Indonesian citizen (AP photo)

However, FactChecker.org says it obtained Obama’s actual birth certificate and that the document was indeed real. The site discredited some of the claims of Internet bloggers, such as that the certificate as viewed in a scanned copy released by Obama’s campaign lacked a raised seal. FactChecker.org also established that many of the alleged flaws in the document noted by bloggers were caused by the scanning of the document.

A separate WND investigation into Obama’s birth certificate utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic. The investigation also revealed methods used by some of the bloggers to determine the document was fake involved forgeries, in that a few bloggers added text and images to the certificate scan that weren’t originally there.

The Berg lawsuit contends there is enough truth in the various reports to conclude, “Unfortunately, Obama is not a ‘natural born’ citizen.”

The suit alleges that while records exist of a “registry of birth” for Obama in Hawaii (filed four days after his claimed birthday), no records exist of his mother’s stay in any Hawaii hospital, suggesting she may have given birth elsewhere and filed the registration shortly thereafter on American soil.

“Obama’s grandmother on his father’s side, half brother and half sister claim Obama was born in Kenya,” the suit states. “Reports reflect Obama’s mother went to Kenya during her pregnancy; however, she was prevented from boarding a flight from Kenya to Hawaii at her late stage of pregnancy, which apparently was a normal restriction to avoid births during a flight. Stanley Ann Dunham (Obama) gave birth to Obama in Kenya, after which she flew to Hawaii and registered Obama’s birth.”

The claim could not be verified by WND inquiries to Hawaiian hospitals, since state law bars the hospitals from releasing medical records to the public.

Even if Obama produced authenticated proof of his birth in Hawaii, however, the suit claims that the U.S. Nationality Act of 1940 provided that minors lose their American citizenship when their parents expatriate. Since Obama’s mother married an Indonesian citizen and moved to Indonesia, the suit claims, she forfeited both her and Barack’s American citizenship.

However, there doesn’t seem to be any evidence Ann Dunham expatriated. Also, consulting citizenship experts contend that if Obama indeed obtained Indonesian citizenship, it simply would not have been recognized by the U.S., but the presidential candidate would retain his American citizenship.

Even after her divorce and return to the U.S., the suit says, “Obama’s mother failed to take the oath in order to regain her U.S. Citizenship. Therefore, Obama would not have been able to regain his U.S. Citizenship until he turned 18 years (and) after he took the oath of allegiance.”

“Since the oath of allegiance would have been entered in the records of the appropriate embassy, legation, consulate, court or the Attorney General, if Plaintiff is incorrect, then Obama should be able to produce in Court a certified copy of the proceedings, including a copy of the oath administered,” the suit states.

The lawsuit then claims an investigation has shown that in 1981, “Obama traveled to Pakistan using his Indonesian passport. At the time of travels to Indonesia, Obama was 20 years old. He was well aware he maintained his Indonesia citizenship, and failed to regain his United States citizenship. … Even if Obama maintained his United States Citizenship, which he failed to do, he also carries citizenships in Kenya and Indonesia. Obama has divided loyalties with foreign countries. Thus, Obama carries multiple citizenships and is ineligible to run for President of the United States.”

A WND investigation could not find any proof Obama used an Indonesian passport to travel to Pakistan. However, WND noted that Pakistan in 1981 was under military rule and that it was difficult for U.S. citizens to travel to the country without assistance – meaning, it would have been easier to enter Pakistan on an Indonesian passport.

Berg claims his lawsuit is necessary, not only to protect the Constitution, but also to protect the integrity of the Democratic Party.

“If the DNC officers and/or leaders had performed one ounce of due diligence, we would not find ourselves in this emergency predicament, one week away from making a person the nominee who has lost their citizenship,” said Berg in his press release. “The injunctive relief must be granted because failing to do so, (the DNC’s) inaction defrauds everyone who voted in the Democratic Primary.”

#56 hillfan4mccain: I think many people are just playing along with BOmania and many are also disgusted by BOmainia. That is why I think the ad that was suggested showing a young woman and saying “your ballot is your secret, you don’t have to vote for this BO garbage and you are still a true Dem” would be very effective. But also keep in mind many of the young folks who are so inappropriate in their BOmania are too young to legally vote.

mountainsong — yep. you demonstrate what continues to repulse me today about Ayers and Dohrn. Not YOU of course — you are the opposite. Here’s the thing, I was born in 1969, so ALL of this is stories to me — stories told by people who were there. I’ve learned over the years that EVERYONE who lived through those times was CHANGED by them. The entire world was in turmoil — kids were dying everywhere, as you say. And then, it ended. Hippies cut their hair, got their degrees and went to work, as you said. Radicals grew up, learned about complexity and corruption and the real world, and grew more nuanced, wary, and skeptical of EVERYTHING.

What’s frightening about Ayers is that he DID NOT CHANGE.

He did not grow up and look back with experience and wisdom the way that you and nearly everyone in your generation did — whether they were student protesters, young soldiers actually fighting, or people like kids1627 (and my parents) who were already married with children and both annoyed and inspired by the student movements.

Same with Jeremiah Wright. Same exact man, 40 angry bitter years later.

I don’t think going to the green zone is the same as or sending a son to the green zone for support is the same. The Weather Underground were still committing crimes after the Vietnam war. It’s not a 60′s thing. It was going on throughout the 70′s to 80′s. Obama and Ayers were less than a 1/4 mile in NYC when Obama went to Columbia University and they likely went to the same socialist rallies and meetings Obama wrote about in his book.

I think Obama first met Ayers in NYC in the early 80′s after only two years of the Weather Underground’s latest armed robbery stints. I think Obama used his mentor Frank Marshall Davis’ name as a point of street cred, (since he was a famous writer/ poet/ communist/ and black power leader). Davis was from Chicago.

No one asks why Obama went from NYC to Chicago.

I think it’s because Frank Marshall Davis was from Chicago and had connections, or Bill Ayers turned Obama onto Chicago from NYC. Maybe Ayers was impressed with Obama’s Frank Marshall Davis story. Maybe Frank Marshall Davis always kept in touch with his Chicago friends to make sure they take care of Obama when he got older.

The Weather Underground with the Black Panthers declared war on the USA.

People think it was just something that happened a long time ago, but the truth is that all those militants from back in the day grew up and NEVER changed except for the violent crime. A lot of the black leaders went into preaching and community organizing, and a lot of the those richie white militants went into teaching and community organizing.

Their war against the USA (capitalism, individualism, etc) NEVER stopped.

These people are serious. They have been working on the revolution for decades.

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn deeply admire Chavez–his revolution–theior socialism. Their son lives in Venezuela. Dorn and Ayers go to visit with Chavez all the time. Bill Ayers always says: Revolution through education! Why do you think he and others are professors? It’s to indoctrinate students. Why do you think Ayers is an Education teacher? He teaches teachers how and what to teach.

What are the only two ways to indoctrinate people outside of the home or propaganda via media and advertising? Places of worship and school.

So, if you know anything about Obama and Ayers Chicago Anennberg Challenge, you would know that they were trying to do something radical–a new system of education. A DE-Americanizing plan.

If you wanted to change America, you would know that one of the ways (besides leadership) would be through education. You need to get ‘em early and take away tht tradtional American patriotism, and change it to something else.

Just listen to Bernadine Dorhn and Bill Ayers and what they teach. Listen to what they want for the USA. Check out their recent SDS meetings on youtube.

These people are NOT kidding. They want “change” and if Obama is president, there WILL be change. Problem is, even if you agree with Obama–a lot of people DON’T. That means FIGHTING.

BUT, when they are alone in the voting both, they can vote for who they really feel would be better for our country…

I think their is more for McCain than projected.

Just my thoughts..

#83 BillieJo on 10.06.08 at 2:04 pm

On the issue of what was going on during the Bill Ayers Weathermen drama.
I was just in college during that time, lived in southern Calif. and would pile into a vw van with a bunch of kids to come to Berkeley and protest the war. I was against the war and the draft and the whole Peace movement was about Peace. Bill Ayers and people like him where the far right wing of the movement that took it full circle into violence. The majority of people stayed clear of these nutbirds, yes, even then, we knew what they were doing was not only wrong but gave the whole movement a bad image. These were crazies that took advantage of the huge protests, they used the protest to carry out their own agenda. To say that what Ayers did was okay because of Viet Nam, is bs. People then and now know protesting a war is not won with violence. He was a terrorist then and even the Faculty at Berkeley say away from Ayers when he gave a conference here last year. These professors are in the Grad School of Education, English and they knew this guy was toxic. Very few people showed up.

#92 tennaseepuma on 10.06.08 at 2:07 pm

The 60s were a radical time in the USA,hatred poured forth from the black panthers as well as other underground groups. i remember the riots in the streets,the peace marches turned ugly,cops being killed,buildings being bombed, people burned out of their homes.

The war was radical and savage,every one knew someone in vietnam,everyone knew someone who didn’t come home. I remember my sisters husband coming home from his first 18 month tour of duty, he jumped under the table when we were eating because a jet flew over and broke the sound barrier……Scary.
He went back for a second tour,not because he believed in the war but because he could not stay here when his brothers were dying over there.
then there was Kennedy shot,and the peace movement echoed across the land with the message”tune in, turn on,drop out.”Love love love all you need is love,ushered in drugs to mainstream America. The guys that didnot go to war started mainlining heroin,LSD was big then too.

http://www.nwi.com/articles/2008/10/02/news/lake_county/doc5399904569d23a75862574d600010e55.txt

Crown Point (Lake County), Indiana

Lake County Republican Chairman John Curley wants a federal investigation into hundreds of voter registrations bearing fictitious signatures or the names of dead and underage people.

“Fraudulent applications are the workings of ACORN groups operating from Milwaukee and Chicago who are getting out the vote for Obama…”

“…it appears some ACORN vote canvassers pulled names and addresses from telephone books and forged their signatures.”

Hoagland said large numbers of voter registration forms bore signatures all in the same apparent handwriting style.

LaSota and Hoagland said they instructed ACORN on how to legally register voters, but apparently the organization’s canvassers broke rules to meet ACORN-set voter registration quotas….

BO-folks STEALING THE ELECTION IN OHIO

———-
BO folks are transporting people, including the homeless, to register &/or vote early…
…AND they’re promoting BO during the ride!!!

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?maven_referralObject=3130656&maven_referralPlaylistId=&sRevUrl=http://www.foxnews.com/foxstream/

……………

The homeless are being bribed with “goodies” and given rides to vote for BO. Seems they’re even being transported into swing states from neighboring states.

http://www.liberallyconservative.com/?p=2560

…………….
“People are showing up to register and vote. There is no evidence that these people have not registered or voted somewhere else. There is no control.

Normally in an election, partisan election monitors are allowed into polling places so that they can police each other. But not in two counties, Franklin and Montgomery, in Ohio. Brunner also issued an advisory opinion to counties saying that they are not required to allow election monitors.

………….
Obama is taking advantage of Ohio’s new controversial early voting:

Obama’s campaign is using its financial and organizational muscle to boost turnout among his core supporters – blacks and the youth. His campaign long planned for this early voting period and organized car pools from college campuses to early voting sites across the state.

Independent groups seeking to increase poor and minority participation also transported voters from places like homeless shelters, halfway houses and soup kitchens.

PLEASE POST THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT ON ALL BLOGS AND E-MAIL TO ANYONE THAT YOU SENT THE ANNOUNCEMENT TO!

I just got a call from Jerome Corsi and something very important came up in Africa. He didn’t want to lose the opportunity afforded to him, so he asked if he could move the interview to next Monday night the 14th. He will give us the whole hour that night. I WILL EXPLAIN MORE ON THE SHOW TONIGHT!!

I extended that courtesy to him as what he is doing in Kenya is very important and when a contact there sets something up that will help him get information, that comes first. Mr. Corsi asked me to extend his apologies to everyone and to tell you all that he is looking forward to being on the show. They will be on a plane to other parts of Africa tomorrow night and that is why he couldn’t do it on Tuesday.

He was very sorry for the short notice and for having to re-schedule, as he thought that the door he was trying to open to get some information was closed, but just got word that some one would help him.

I hope that you will all understand and join Mr. Corsi and I on Monday, October 14th to hear what he has been able to uncover about Obama in Kenya!

Georg Soros is who I have been posting about the past few weeks. HE does indeed “own” the Dems financially and politically and all of Obama’s platform are actually Soros; platform. He is the most dangerous of all of the dems. as he controls them and he finances them. In return, they give him big bucks through orgas. like the fraudulent ACORN, Move-on.org, etc. Read about Soros’ Shadow Party and his Open Society (just a few of over numerous companies he controls or is affiliated with).

#127 ron4Hills on 10.06.08 at 2:27 pm

Hey Guys.

When I was a kid I was vaguely aware of Bill Ayers but very aware of Bernadine Dorhn and the Weather Underground. I know that I come from a perspective that differs greatly from most of you, but Bernadine Dorhn, Assata Skakur (Joanne Chesamard), Kathleen Soliah and other “radical” fugitives were heroes in my house. We were Black Panthers and we believed in “Revolution.”

As hard as it is to believe we were also patriotic. When I was 8 or 9 years old and the School House Rock Preamble of the Constitution would come on TV I would literally tear up. I still do today. No lie. I believed in the words so much and I wanted so badly that they would someday really apply. I also believed that the ends justified the means back then. I believe that the radical Vietnam war protesters were no different than rabble at the “Boston Massacre” and the “Boston Tea Party.” In my mind we in the counter-culture were the “true” patriots and the conservative establishment were the betrayers of the American ideal.

My thoughts today at 40-something are different. Maturity, “the big chill” and September 11th all changed me, but I make no excuses for my radical past. If I ever run for anything I will have to deal with my early life in a Black Panther Commune.

Ok, here is where we get to Barack “W2″ Obama and his association with radicals like Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright and others. He expects us to believe that he had no idea who they were and what they stood for when he was involved with them 10 to 20 years. Give me a break. If he did not know then he is an idiot. I don’t think that anyone believe that he is an idiot (even though he is about to become the second most under qualified presdient since…W1). The truth is he knew who Ayers and Wright were and he decided that he did not care. Maybe he truly sympathized with their points of view or more likely he needed their political contacts and ambition trumped ideology. Then again judging by his parents communist connections he may have actually bought into Ayers and Wright. Who knows

At any rate, his position today is gutless and dishonest, and the insinuation by his campaign that anyone digging into his past is being racist or practicing the politics of personal destruction is disgusting and lame. Almost as lame as calling the Clinton’s race baiters.

Quit faking the funk “Barry!” For once in your lame life answer a question truthfully.

“We children 60′s radicals glamorized the excesses of our parents generation, and like them our self righteous passions had us making horrible, sometimes tragic lapses in judgment.” There is said it Barry . Why can’t you.

Obama is a big fat liar and he media is complicit in his lies. I know many of you won’t understand where I am coming from but I had to get this off my chest. Obama is neither radical nor moderate. His is nothing. He is a chameleon. His a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I was a radical but Bill Clinton made me a centrist. Now Barack Obama is just making me mad.

#135 kat in your hat on 10.06.08 at 2:35 pm

murphy-lol. Sorry. It’s true though.

It is astounding, but sort of ironic–a type of villianous poetic justice.

Obama skyrockets to the top, boosted by anti-Americans and criminals, and authoritarian leftists (who really think the “change” is honestly good), and he comes from OUT OF THE BLUE.

Barack Hussein Obama…who is that? SO many people never heard of him. Dunno that guy.

It’s funny, these same Weather Underground people HATE American media, and they HATE capitalism, and they HATE the American culture. Why? Well, one reason is because it is so superficial, don’t you know? So AMERICAN: sex and violence and extravagance. And don’t you know how our education ranks in the world? LOL! People know more about celebrities than American history or geography, etc.

Let’s use their stupid culture against them!

So, let’s make a joke out of dumb America! Let’s use their disgusting culture against them!! Control the media, make Obama into an American Idol, use mass forms of propaganda–like all those hideous capitalist advertisements and billboards…and let’s TRICK THEM. LOL. Watch how the idiots fall for it, like he is some kind of God or celebrity. Dummies.

Obama–came out of the blue, no one really knows him, and he could be the President of the USA in a month.

LOL. It’s hilarious huh? Dumb Americans.

Well, I don’t know, I can just imagine that Ayers and Dorhn, etc are laughing up a storm and thinking JUST what I typed above.

Also, it’s not just Obama’s radicals who want this “change” you better believe a lot of big time scary powerful and wealthy people and leaders from other countries are drooling for this. There is a long list of money-backers, people who can make things happen. People who support Obama.

#136 michelle47 on 10.06.08 at 2:35 pm

I also believe people are playing along in their support of Obama, most people are afraid of confrontation.

My daughter goes to the local college and said last week acorn was out in force on campus. She said they were everywhere and literally in your face. She tried avoiding them, on friday she was trapped going into class, a girl asked her if she was a registered voter, she answered that she had been since age 18, the girl asked if she was sure and my daughter said yes, she was then asked who she would be voting for and she said McCain….She was then called a WHITE, RACIST, BITCH…My daughter, who is quite outspoken, said she was so stunned that she said nothing and esentially ran into class to avoid a confrontation. Again my daughter is not one to backdown and she did, what about the others that would say, yes I am voting for Obama just to avoid trouble…This is happening everywhere and I really believe that the polls are skewed because of it!

#137 osaka puma on 10.06.08 at 2:36 pm

I’ve used this software for a while, so I believe it’s safe. You choose what type of output file you want (mpeg, avi, etc) from a drop-down list on the right side, select the output file path, then click the “Encode” button and it will convert your file to that format.

I just converted the YouTube file of the “Obama Youth” from the flv format to wmv format. Worked OK.

Received this email from a friend –interesting—
Slum Lord Obama Radio Ad Released by Black Republican Group

Radio ads exposing the real Sen. Barack Obama as a Slum Lord and a far left-wing radical have been released by the National Black Republican Association (NBRA) and are being aired in battleground states. One ad is about the shocking Boston Globe investigation that includes a video of poor blacks living in the Obama-funded slum lord projects who condemn Obama for not caring about them. That investigation can be found on the Internet at: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/06/27/grim_proving_ground_for_obamas_housing_policy/?page=1

The NBRA radio ads clearly demonstrate that, when the American people look behind Obama’s slick, public façade, they see an inexperienced liberal who does not have the character and judgment to be our next president. To understand what Obama has in mind for the rest of America, visit any black urban community in this nation. Liberal Democrats have been running black communities for the past 40 years, and their socialist policies have turned those communities into economic and social wastelands. If Obama’s messianic message of “hope and change” was so powerful, why are the poor people in Chicago still poor?

Don’t you think it would be more effective to make this a major effort with all the JustSayNo members? Copies to the media? Copies to the DNC and DNC State Chairs?

Can we do this? We should strike while the iron is hot.

Secret, Foreign Money Floods Into Obama Campaign

By: Kenneth R. Timmerman

More than half of the whopping $426.9 million Barack Obama has raised has come from small donors whose names the Obama campaign won’t disclose.

And questions have arisen about millions more in foreign donations the Obama campaign has received that apparently have not been vetted as legitimate.

From:

Obama’s Fishy $200 Million

By The Prowler

The FEC analyst says that Obama’s filings indicate he has received large, bundled sums of donations from overseas, sometimes exceeding a quarter millions dollars.” It’s suspicious, but it’s the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined.

We’ve raised red flags on many of these and the Obama campaign just ignores us. After this election, after we’ve sifted through everything — if we’re allowed to sift through everything — I am confident that we are looking at perhaps the largest fine every leveled against a national campaign entity.

Ayers is NOT different from those Arabs who attacked our country in 9/11. And this is the people associated his self with? That makes you question what kind of judgement NObama have; from Ayers, Alinsky, Al-Mansoor, Khalidi, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Wright, Rezko.

My daughter is a young adult, she is 22, honestly when she told me that she did not respond I was more than shocked. Most of us have heard that this goes on, even her, she said she was so shocked that she didn’t know how to answer it, so if they can do it to her what are they doing to others? What about the elderly? I really think the Obama camp, media and pollsters are overreaching, I would assume that many people are telling pollsters etc..what they want to hear not what they really think!

#178 kat in your hat on 10.06.08 at 3:06 pm

Look, there is improving America (we do have problems) and then there is “changing” it because you fundamentally hate the basic principles it stands for.

Gotta think like these people.

If you fundamentally hate capitalism and wealth, how do you defeat that? If you blame white people being in control (government/ and wall street, etc) how do you defeat that? If you hate the USA interfering with other countries and “sponsoring state terrorism,” by being allies with places like Israel and enemies with places like Iran. How do you defeat that?

With everything I know about Obama, I am not kidding when I say that he wants to hurt the economy (tear it down–burn it down, like Wright, Farrakhan, and James Cone said) just to change the power structure, introduce socialism, change our culture (through school, media, organizing), and switch some of our allies for our enemies.

This is worrisome all by itself. But my fear is the growing pains of it all, the fight against it, and the fight for it. The massive friction. Not only in America, but with our allies and enemies.

That’s why I don’t like to find out things like Obama voting for the FISA bill, or Truth Squads, or the internet getting censored, or wanting to make volunteerism mandated, or Obama wanting to ban guns, or Obama wanting to introduce civilian armies in the USA (as strong and as well paid as military when we already have cops), and this is why I don’t like the power Obama seems to have over the MSM. The people against him (like us) might deal with really bad times, and the people for him may not ever even find out, or they will be working with him and think it’s the right thing anyway.

The signs are all around.

No one wants to say these things outloud. I sure don’t. It sounds too far fetched. It seems impossible.

But go ahead and look at the economy now…look at the media now…look at Obama’s truth squads and volunteers and supporters…how obsessed they are…look what’s going on between us and other countries right now. Look at Russia and Venezeula…research how tons of Obama’s backers feel about Israel, people like Samantha “Hillary is a Monster” Powers who was his foreign policy advisor, who wanted us to stop sending money to Israel in the hopes that Palestine could perform massive genocide and take over…just look around.

Don’t think Ayers and people like Ahmadinejad are simply kooks. They BOTH said in the last two weeks that America as we know it is over. It’s so obvious to other people.

An Open Letter To Obama From Black Republicans
At a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida, Senator Barack Obama displayed his hypocrisy when he played the race card against Republicans, while whining that he expects Republicans to play the race card against him. This dishonest tactic is straight out of the Democratic Party’s race-baiting political playbook.

Since Obama wants the American people to believe he is disgusted by racism, we call upon Obama to condemn his fellow Democrats for their Jim Crow-style racist attacks against black Republicans because we do not adhere to the Democratic Party’s liberal agenda.

More specifically, we ask Obama to condemn Democrat Senator Joe Biden who boasted proudly on FOX News that his qualification to be president was enhanced because his home state of Delaware held blacks in human bondage. “You don’t know my state,” Biden crowed, “my state was a slave state. “ Imagine the media firestorm that would have ensued if a Republican had uttered such an outrageously racist comment.

We request that Obama denounce Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy who called black Republican judicial nominees, including Justice Janice Rogers Brown, “Neanderthals.”

We ask Obama to condemn Democrat Senator Harry Reid who appeared on Meet the Press and attacked black Republican Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, demeaning the justice as an incompetent Negro, incapable of writing good English. “Slap at Thomas stinks of racism,” was the headline of the New York Daily News’ December 7, 2004 editorial.

We request that Obama denounce the Democrats who threw Oreo cookies (black on the outside and white on the inside) onto the stage during an appearance of Maryland’s former Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele when he was seeking a seat in Congress.

We ask Obama to condemn the Democrat bloggers who posted a doctored photo of Michael Steel on the Internet, depicting him as a “Simple Sambo” with a Jim Crow-era “black face,” nappy hair and thick red lips.

We request that Obama denounce the two members of the Democratic Senatorial Committee (DSCC) who resigned in September 2005 after admitting they illegally obtained Michael Steele’s credit report in a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a federal offense. The two culprits were Katie Barge, the DSCC’s research director who pled guilty to a misdemeanor, and her deputy, Lauren Weiner.

We ask Obama to condemn the Democrat talk show hosts and cartoonists who denigrated Dr. Condoleezza Rice after she was nominated to be the first black woman secretary of state. Democrat Pat Oliphant drew Dr. Rice as a big-lipped, buck-toothed squawking parrot, smearing her as an empty-headed stooge. Democrat Jeff Danzinger depicted Dr. Rice as a stereotyped “mammy,” barefoot and ignorant. Democrat Ted Rall referred to Dr. Rice as President Bush’s “House [N-word]”. Democrat John Sylvester characterized Dr. Rice on his radio talk show as a stupid, servile black woman, calling her an “Aunt Jemima”.

We request that Obama denounce Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, a former “Keagle” in the Ku Klux Klan, who led other Democrats, including Senators John Kerry and Barbara Boxer, in a filibuster of Dr. Rice’s confirmation when she appeared before the Senate for her confirmation hearing.

We ask Obama to apologize for writing a letter in support of former Klansman Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, considering the following facts about Byrd.

- In 2001, Byrd was forced to apologize for using the N-word on television.

- Byrd pushed to have the Senate’s main office building named after Democrat Senator Richard Russell, Byrd’s mentor and leading opponent of anti-lynching legislation.

- Byrd, along with Democrat Senators Sam Ervin and Albert Gore, Sr., was a chief opponent of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and filibustered against the bill for 14 straight hours before the final vote.

- Byrd, along with other racist Democrats, smeared Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the 1960’s. This racist attack on Dr. King was ongoing when Democrat President John F. Kennedy had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a communist in order to undermine Dr. King. The relentless disparagement of Dr. King by Democrats led to his being physically assaulted and ultimately to his tragic death. In March of 1968, while referring to Dr. King’s leaving Memphis, Tennessee after riots broke out where a teenager was killed, Byrd called Dr. King a “trouble-maker” who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited. A few weeks later, Dr. King returned to Memphis and was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

We request that Obama apologize to all black Americans for the Democratic Party’s 200-year history of racism against all black Americans as exposed in the books “Unfounded Loyalty” by Rev. Wayne Perryman and “A Short History of Reconstruction” by Dr. Eric Foner.

We ask Obama to embrace the 2006 report by the Commission appointed by North Carolina’s governor which uncovered facts that prompted the Democratic Party of North Carolina to pass a unanimous resolution apologizing for the Democratic Party’s role in the bloody 1898 Wilmington Race Riots where dozens of black Americans were massacred. That apology is on the Internet at: http://www.ncdp.org/node/1546 . In a letter to the North Carolina Democratic Party, Lt. Governor Richard H. Moore wrote: “We can no longer ignore the fact that many of us grew up being taught a much sanitized – and inaccurate – history…. The truth is ugly.”

If Obama refuses to condemn the Democrats for their racist past and current race-baiting against black Republicans, then what right does Obama have to preemptively accuse Republicans of using racism against him?

MCcain sticks it to Obama

Straight Talk

McCain statement

“I don’t need lessons about telling the truth to American people. And were I ever to need any improvement in that regard, I probably wouldn’t seek advice from a Chicago politician.”

Senator Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed. But the truth is I was the one who called at the time for tighter restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that could have helped prevent this crisis from happening in the first place.

Senator Obama was silent on the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and his Democratic allies in Congress opposed every effort to rein them in. As recently as September of last year he said that subprime loans had been, quote, “a good idea.” Well, Senator Obama, that “good idea” has now plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

To hear him talk now, you’d think he’d always opposed the dangerous practices at these institutions. But there is absolutely nothing in his record to suggest he did. He was surely familiar with the people who were creating this problem. The executives of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have advised him, and he has taken their money for his campaign. He has received more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than any other senator in history, with the exception of the chairman of the committee overseeing them. Did he ever talk to the executives at Fannie and Freddie about these reckless loans? Did he ever discuss with them the stronger oversight I proposed? If Senator Obama is such a champion of financial regulation, why didn’t he support these regulations that could have prevented this crisis in the first place? He won’t tell you, but you deserve an answer.

I totally agree!
The only problem with his little plan is that he doesn’t know that Republican’s and PUMAs know of his little plan to rip down our social structure. Viet Nam protesting is nothing compared to what will happen if that Mutter Flucker wins this election. I would rather be shot down in the street than let this b@stard change my country and I bet more than half the country agree. The little obie will have a real fight on his hands if he wins. I won’t move out and go to Canada……I will spend the last days of my life making sure he is taken out of office. Talk about impeachment…day one…if he wins is when the real protest will begin!

In 1964 I graduated from high school and began college. In my freshman year, we wore skirts and blouses with stockings and real shoes. Over the Christmas break of my freshman year, the college dropped the dress code and everyone universally switched to jeans and sneakers.

The significance of the shift in dress is that the world genuinely changed from an up-tight ’50′s to a laid back ’60′s. Part of the change was frivolous and part was deep rooted in a movement away from acceptance without investigation and evaluation of a value system handed down from those in established authority. The problem with the 60′s is that young people swapped the old value system for none at all or a new one without any investigation or evaluation of the new.

I have listened to Bernadine Dohrn and William Ayers and they sing the same song as Osama Bin Ladin, the Black Panthers, the IRA and all the other terrorist groups. They point at legitimate (and sometimes not so legitimate) wrongs and then claim that bombing school buses and office buildings will improve the situation. That is the most evil, self aggrandizing pretence of confronting evil and only the very immature or genuine sociopaths believe that those actions will survive any scrutiny at all.

Obama’s association with J Wright, Phleger, Farakan, Rezko are consistent with his association with Dohrn and Ayers. It is impossible to see a searching for truth and justice in his associations. It is easy to see opportunistic social and political climbing that is amoral or immoral.

I hope that PUMAs work very hard to insure that the American people see and understand he and she Obama’s behavior.

Yes, Murphy, I remember the Weathermen, I remember them and every other group of that time…very well. I remember walking to the back of the Louisiana bus as a junior in high school and sitting down in the back seat…I remember black and white people looking at me as if I were crazy…as well.
But, the Weathermen were not civil rights activitists,
they were not of Martin Luther King. They were of themselves..I remember them killing that innocent policeman, standing around at the wrong place. The Weathermen, used the confusion of the times to do what they did. They were anarchists and then as now, Ayers and his wife, used and will use anything to get what they want. They are the perfect ally of Obama and do I resent it…you damn right, I do.

Someone suggested last night to make copies of Hannity’s show last night. I think that is a great idea. If someone could copy a few on their computer with cheap DVD’s and give them away at grocery stores or Walmart, that would really show people who he really is.
I would but my computer’s cd/dvd don’t work now. I think an obot put a virus on them.

Alot of people don’t get Fox News and some don’t watch the news much. My uncle who lives in another state does not get Fox.

I have a DVD recorder and VCR combo, but it will only tape on the higher priced DVD’s. But I am thinking about making about 3 or 4 and giving some to a few people and one to my uncle especially. He is not voting for OB or McCain. He says he is not voting at all. He watches CNN. I keep telling him that CNN is for OB. I think this will show him what CNN is not reporting.

the Weather Underground. If you remember those days, let us know your thoughts

At first those groups were romantic, like Robin Hood. Against war and oppression. For civil rights. Relationships between boomers and their parents were never mellow, as it is now between GenX and their boomer parents, so it also fed on “The Generation Gap”.

Then all those groups started blowing stuff up, robbing banks, kidnapping and brainwashing Patty Hearst (but she was a lot sexier looking as Tanya). It turned out they were no more than common criminals. There were rumors about a friend of a friend of a friend who joined them and got their hands blown off trying to make bombs in a basement. They were now scary people.

The genuine anti-war and civil rights groups had to distance themselves in order to be recognized as legitimate. MLK preached non-violence and was accepted by the mainstream.

Today….I don’t have health insurance. I go to a clinic with a sliding scale–a clinic established not by MLK, but by the scary, discredited Black Panthers.

Obama scares me more every day. The protective shield the MSM has given him disgusts me. The way he can silence anyone by false accusations of racism; the way he has brain-washed our youth; and the way he continually gets away with voter fraud and intimidation should scare us all.

McCain and Palin can call out Obama on all his lies and deceptions but the media (except FOX) will demonize them instead. Can anybody win against THE ONE?

This is the first time in my life that I’ve felt afraid to speak the truth about a politician. I’ve never read such hateful and dismissive statements by otherwise sane people, as those who support Obama. Something ain’t right here! But PUMA’s already know that! I’m preaching to the choir!

When I was an Freshman undergrad I was not very politically aware. That all changed. 1969 was like a lightening bolt for me. There are no words to describe what happened at Kent State. I was torn between having family and friends in the service, enlisted and drafted, as well as feeling outraged by the war, I was horrified by the domestic violence created by these groups. The SDS and the Weather Underground created domestic terror. Period. During their days of rage, as students of a small college in a rural area, we received a letter shoved under our dorm room doors at 5 AM. The administration instructing us to get out and off campus by 11:00 and not turn return until the next week. Because we were located 25 mi from a large University they feared the violence threatened there would spill onto our campus. It was frightening. They were and continue to be terrorists. I don’t give a rats _ that others might think that it was so long ago and they have been rehabilitated. THEY HAVE NOT! They have just changed their tactics. In their own words, they have said the only thing they learned was that the bomb didn’t work. That Obama has any association with them is beyond my comprehension. That he does, tells me all I need to know about him.

Richard Nixon inspired my interests in conspiracy theories.(heh) I’ve been fascinated with this campaign and had this gnawing feeling about it, since the beginning, that I just couldn’t figure out. So I started reading and researching as much as I had time for. There are just too many coincidences in this unraveling tale of Obama, going back to his Mother, Father, and Franklin Marshal Davis; Ayers/WU, Ali Abunimah, Rashid Khalidi, Saul Alinksy, The Woods Foundation, CAC, ACORN, Public Allies, Cloward-Piven Strategy, Occidental, Columbia U, Pakistan, Harvard. The visual and emotional focus/nature of his campaign. Things don’t just happen, they happen for a reason. IMO he is a tool for anarchists. A Manchurian candidate. Oh! Is that too strong? Sorry. It’s how I see it.

#208 NewOrleansPuma on 10.06.08 at 3:36 pm

Murphy: Obama is connected to Ayers and his wife because in Obama’s Alinsky self, any person or any group who can be used to assert the interest of the self will be used and then, if and when necessary continue to be used or to be set aside, at least publicly. Barack Obama is an anarchist at his roots. His methods are to deconstruct everything….then reconstruct in language then deconstruct again…anarchy never reaches a point of stasis…it simply takes another shape…and continues. Who ever said that anarchy had to include bombs? Alinsky in fact faulted these kinds of anarchists.

Very encouraging to see the gloves coming off.

Could use your help.

Where did you find this statement? I would like to send a link to some folks who are on the fence, leaning against NObama, but wondering why McCain isn’t fighting harder.

#211 rain on 10.06.08 at 3:41 pm

The gloves are on—more NBRA info–

1. Obama The Slum Lord

Narrator:

Obama claims he cares about poor blacks, but a Boston Globe report exposed how for eight years Obama supported slum projects in Chicago.

Poor blacks living in rat and roach infested apartments condemned Obama for not caring about them.

Cynthia Ashley, a fourteen-year resident said: “No one should have to live like this, and no one did anything about it.”

Anthony Frizzell a twenty-year resident said: “In the winter I can feel the cold air coming through the walls and the sockets.”

Sharee Jones who has lived for years with the rats said: “You could hear them under the floor and in the walls, and they didn’t do nothing about it.”

Paul Johnson who helped organize a protest against Obama said: “Of course he knew. He just didn’t care.”

Showing he just didn’t care, Obama wrote letters on Illinois Senate letterhead supporting government loans for slum projects.

Obama coauthored the Illinois law that gave tax breaks to his slum lord friends, including now convicted felon Tony Rezko who helped Obama buy a million-dollar house.

As a US Senator, Obama worked to increase federal subsidies for his slum lord pals who donated more than $175,000 to Obama’s campaigns with Rezko raising another $200,000.

While running for president, Obama is promising to create a fund that gives his slum lord buddies $500 million a year. This is outrageous.

Learn the truth.

2. Obama The Radical

Narrator:

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. advocated racial tolerance.

In his “I Have a Dream” speech, he said: “The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people.”

People today wonder does Barack Obama share Dr. King’s positive view of racial tolerance or Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s negativity and racial intolerance?

In his book “Dreams from my Father”, Obama confesses that he harbors the same negative racial stereotypes as Rev. Wright, his mentor for 20 years.

On page 198 to 204, Obama says that black nationalism, a steady attack on the white race would be justified if it could deliver.

On page 100, Obama says he went out of his way to choose Marxist professors as his friends.

Obama wrote and I quote: “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully, the more politically active black students, the foreign students, the Chicanos, the Marxist professors and punk rock performance poets.”

On page 154, Obama confesses that he studied the Koran at a Muslim school.

Obama wrote and I quote: “In Indonesia, I spent two years at a Muslim school. In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell my mother that I made faces during Koranic studies. My mother wasn’t overly concerned. Be respectful she’d say.”

On page 93, Obama confesses that he drank heavily, tried drugs enthusiastically and was helped by pot, booze and cocaine.

Obama does not share our values. Obama is no MLK.

Learn the truth.

3. Obama is No MLK

Narrator:

In his “I Have a Dream” speech, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said:

“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Dr. King’s words are important for this 2008 election.

Look beyond Barack Obama’s skin color and soaring rhetoric, and you will see an arrogant, elitist millionaire whose voting record is the most liberal in Congress.

Look at the people around Obama, and you will understand that Obama lacks the judgment to be our next president.

Obama’s mentor for 20-years was Rev. Jeremiah Wright who said innocent Americans deserved to die on September 11th.

Obama’s 20-year friend and bagman was Tony Rezko who was recently convicted of fraud.

Another Obama close friend is Weather Underground Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and other public buildings.

Character matters. Obama does not have the character or judgment to be our next president.

Learn the truth.

4. Arrogant Obama

Narrator:

Dr. King said judge people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

Barack Obama sounds good, but character is judged by action when no one is looking.

Obama voted no on the minimum wage bill.

Obama said no to school choice scholarships for poor black children trapped in failing schools.

Obama voted yes for a bill to kill babies born alive in a botched abortion.

Bitter is what Obama called blacks and whites who love God.

Racist is what Obama called his white grandmother who raised him and made sacrifices so Obama could get a good education and become a millionaire.

Obama’s friends are terrorist Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright who said innocent Americans deserved to die on September 11th.

Obama is an arrogant elitist who turned his back on poor blacks and his own country.

Interesting that Jenny’s comments fall right before mine….I in contrast to Jenny obviously have said Obama is an anarchist, not a tool….for anarchists.
But both Jenny, I , and others here who have commented all concluded similarly then and now about the Weathermen and Ayers when none of us knew each other long ago…That in itself is very interesting to me as well…

I appreciated your comment about the Panthers clinic.

In many ways we were misguided and ineffective, playing revolutionary without a clue. Our parents were so so young, so you know my sister and I were young. We looked up to them as freedom fighters.

What I remember most about the Panther office is the smell of bacon and eggs cooking in the mornings for the free breakfast program.

They made mistakes but MOST of them meant well.

And that is my point about “The Pointless One,” own your mistakes and make the case for why you were doing the best you could with what you knew at the time. That would be leadership. But don’t lie, lie, lie about about yourself and your associates. What a coward.

Someone suggested last night to make copies of Hannity’s show last night. I think that is a great idea. If someone could copy a few on their computer with cheap DVD’s and give them away at grocery stores or Walmart, that would really show people who he really is.

This is a very expensive way to pass the info. You don’t even know if the people will watch it. Even burning to a CDR is expensive… best to copy and paste the links every bog you can get into on the internet. Make it a teaser that people will want to see it.

The text of McCain’s speech today:

The MAC is back!

Our current economic crisis is a good case in point. What was his actual record in the years before the great economic crisis of our lifetimes?

This crisis started in our housing market in the form of subprime loans that were pushed on people who could not afford them. Bad mortgages were being backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and it was only a matter of time before a contagion of unsustainable debt began to spread. This corruption was encouraged by Democrats in Congress, and abetted by Senator Obama.

McCain came out fighting! Don’t hold back the dogs, let him snarl and bite at nobo’s heels.

That reminds me of a dogfight one of my dogs was in several months ago. Another dog attacked her and I was in fighting like crazy to stop the fight. I believe the ONLY thing that saved my dog was that she submitted. the dog quit fighting her. I thought she was dead but just needed alot of stitches. She is my own little hero.

So, let McCain, the fighter, (didn’t he fly a fighter plane in the military?) go after nobo and when nobo submits, on Nov. 5th, he will be badly battered by McCain but the true alpha will walk away the winner!!

Obama doesn’t pass the mainstream smell test

As Mark Levin notes below, Obama presents himself as mainstream. I suspect that almost every Cornerite could make each of the following statements:

- My career was not launched with the assistance of an unrepentant terrorist.
- My pastor has never said “God damn America.”
- I don’t think our troops are “just air-raiding villages and killing civilians.”
- My spouse doesn’t think America is a “downright mean country.”
- I’ve never sat on a board with an unrepentant terrorist.
- I’ve never directed millions of dollars to radical organizations.
- I’ve never opposed requiring medical care for babies who are born alive.
- I bought my home without assistance from a convicted felon.
- I’ve never taken my kids to a church whose pastor thinks AIDS was created by the government.

If Obama’s mainstream, most Americans are extremists.

Did you notice what he said????

“I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed.”

That’s a famous JOSEPH GOEBBELS quote.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” —Goebbels

The Rally Congress prowl done…

#284 NikkisMom on 10.06.08 at 4:34 pm

Ouch

Beginning of MAC’s speech:

My opponent has invited serious questioning by announcing a few weeks ago that he would quote — “take off the gloves.” Since then, whenever I have questioned his policies or his record, he has called me a liar.

Rather than answer his critics, Senator Obama will try to distract you from noticing that he never answers the serious and legitimate questions he has been asked. But let me reply in the plainest terms I know. I don’t need lessons about telling the truth to American people. And were I ever to need any improvement in that regard, I probably wouldn’t seek advice from a Chicago politician.

My opponent’s touchiness every time he is questioned about his record should make us only more concerned. For a guy who’s already authored two memoirs, he’s not exactly an open book. It’s as if somehow the usual rules don’t apply, and where other candidates have to explain themselves and their records, Senator Obama seems to think he is above all that. Whatever the question, whatever the issue, there’s always a back story with Senator Obama. All people want to know is: What has this man ever actually accomplished in government? What does he plan for America? In short: Who is the real Barack Obama? But ask such questions and all you get in response is another barrage of angry insults

#285 KarenWI on 10.06.08 at 4:35 pm

Nooooooo!!! I knew who Goebbels was, but I didn’t know that was a Joseph Goebbels quote!!! Yikes!

Hopefully, someone changes that line for him….Ugggghhhh!!

No no, it’s a good line, McCain is saying I guess OBAMA feels that if you tell a lie big enough and repeat it often enough, people will believe it.

He is slyly pointing out that Obama uses propagandist methods, Goebellesque propagandist methods.

To me, it’s like McCain is making a serious warning.

I am excited–
I just received an NRA anti-Obama flier in the mail. Why am I so excited? Well, I live in an area where hunting is huge, really huge. I also live in an area where everyone has Obama signs in their yard. Perhaps this new flier will persuade some of them to take down their signs and reconsider their vote. I sure hope so.

The Obama Fan Dance Must End

[Mark R. Levin]

As someone who has written critically of John McCain on a host of issues, including the Keating Five, none of it compares to the life that Barack Obama has led and his belief system. Obama is not merely associated with domestic terrorists, Palestinian radicals, Marxists, and black liberation ideologues — he was their favorite candidate. They groomed him. They befriended him. He befriended them. He socialized with them. In other words, these people saw Obama as representing their views and aspirations and he saw them the same way. I am not among those who raise Obama’s associations but add “of course, it doesn’t mean Obama shares their views.” Oh really? These miscreants include Obama’s former pastor, political mentors and allies, and friends. Obama attempts to downplay and distance himself from his own circle of allies now that he is running for president. But he is one of them. Obama is getting a pass that no other candidate in my memory has ever received.

If John McCain had belonged to a church for 20 years and that church advocated white supremacy and the pastor of the church spewed racist propaganda wrapped in Biblical verses — much of which was caught on video-tape — what would we say? If McCain’s good friends included people involved in blowing up abortion clinics instead of the Capitol Building, the Pentagon, and police stations, what would we say? If McCain was socially close to a professor with ties to neo-Nazi groups in Berlin, as opposed to a professor who had ties to the PLO, what would we say? If McCain spent his formative years schooled in fascism as opposed to Marxism, what would we say?

Every time Obama’s life experiences and character are raised, the response is a diversionary tactic. Today, we’re supposed to be impressed with the moral equivalency argument (Ayers = Keating Five), or Obama’s associations and friendships aren’t what they appear to be, or Obama really isn’t like all those people he drew around him, or those raising these issues are guilty of McCarthyism. There are 30 days left in this election. It’s high time the Obama fan-dance ended.

Here, some more Joseph Goebbels quotes:

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly – it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over” (Yes We Can? Change?)

“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”

“Whoever can conquer the street will one day conquer the state, for every form of power politics and any dictatorship-run state has its roots in the street.”

“If the day should ever come when we [the Nazis] must go, if some day we are compelled to leave the scene of history, we will slam the door so hard that the universe will shake and mankind will stand back in stupefaction..”

What people fail to remember and mention is that the Weathermen Underground was for the violent over-throwing of the US and that they Declared War of the US and signed a Declaration of War. In most cases to declare war on the USA would automatically strip you of citizenship but Ayres and his wife and some others continued to be free on the run and never imprisoned for the killings and the declaration of war because of a technicallity in the prosecution. And hold jobs of influence now acting like high and mighty “Amerikans” (misspelled on purpose). They made the Black Pathers Radical Front appear to be children. The Black Pathers was one of the most radical domestic terrorist organizations ever in the late 1960′s and early 1970′s, and the Weathermen Underground made them look like babes in the woods with their extremist domestic terrorism and murders.

Weathermen – First Communique, July 31, 1970
Their Declaration of War on the US

also sent the Declaration over to Action for them to post.

Man are Obots and other absolutely outraged that anyone especially McCain would bring up the Ayres story and connection again after they said that all that needed to be said about it was already said in the primaries and that it was put to rest and swept under the carpet. They literally believe that Ayres is a good guy and all this is hurting a good person’s reputation that has changed.

Who is Jeremiah Wright?

Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. was the Senior Pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), a mega church in Chicago with around 10,000 members. In early 2008, Wright retired after 36 years as the Pastor of his congregation.

“The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side, has a long history of what even Obama’s campaign aides concede is “inflammatory rhetoric,” including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own “terrorism.” (ABC News, http://abcnews.go.com/blotter/story?id=4443788)

.Wright is a known associate and fan of Louis Farrakhan

.met and praised Quadaffi, who he called one of the great leaders in African liberation movement

.heads a church that teaches congregation to “throw off chains of white people” and get back to African roots aka Black Liberation Theology

.rabidly anti-Israel

.written articles and made speeches in support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the PLO

I have a question based on something in this article… why are the democrats almost universally known to be ones who are better on the economy than the republicans… especially after it was the repubs who tried to stop this problem from happening a few years ago, and the dems stopped it? I’m confused as to why people seem to all think the dems are better on the economy – especially after that debacle….

NO ONE… and I do mean NO ONE… should believe the polls. For the next 30 days… DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO POLLS.

Several articles have been posted on polling biases for all the major players which include Gallup and Rasmussen. Obama will try to use Polling propaganda to convince us that McCain is not in the lead. Just use common sense from here on forward. Look at the stunning crowds that show up for Palin rallies. None of the crowd size is being reported on MSM — that alone says volumes.

In contrast — I see Obama rallies and on the few occasions when the camera pans back to show a crowd — they are no where near the size of Palin crowds. McCain is doing better than the MSM wants us to know. Obama is panicked and proof will be in the desperation of the stories that are about to be unleased.

Hold onto your hats — buckle up for the ride — turn a deaf ear to the poll reports — and full steam ahead with as much work as possible to prevent Obama from being elected. I feel confident that if you heed these words… we’ll succeed in our goals.

Here’s the Keating 5 of Nobama

====

If Barack Obama is so outraged at John McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal, why is John Glenn, another Keating Five member, doing surrogate work for Obama?

Obama’s presidential campaign released a scathing documentary on Monday detailing McCain’s ties to the Savings and Loan crisis on the 1980’s. Five U.S. senators were named in the scandal: Sen. Alan Cranston (D.-Calif.), Sen. Dennis DeConcini (D.-Ariz.), Sen. John Glenn (D.-Ohio), Sen. John McCain (R.-Ariz.) and Sen. Donald Reigle (D-Minn.).

“The Keating scandal is eerily similar to today’s credit crisis, where a lack of regulation and cozy relationships between the financial industry and Congress has allowed banks to make risky loans and profit by bending the rules,” reads a trailer for the video on a website created by the Obama campaign to attack McCain, http://www.keatingeconomics.com. “And in both cases, John McCain’s judgment and values have placed him on the wrong side of history.

But Obama doesn’t seem to have any quarrel with Glenn. The former Democratic Ohio senator introduced Bruce Springsteen at a benefit concert for Obama in Ohio on Sunday, October 5. He’s also done other surrogate work for Obama as well. According to Obama’s presidential website Glenn held a conference calls with reporters for Obama in August.

A day after Glenn urged people to register to vote for Obama in Ohio, Obama’s campaign began a multimedia campaign to remind the public McCain was one of the “Keating Five” although he was eventually cleared of all charges.

Like McCain, Glenn was also found not guilty of violating any Senate rules.

Attorney John Dowd, who represented McCain during the Senate Ethics investigation, said Senate Democrats conducted a “classic political smear job” on McCain in the Keating Five scandal.

“When it was discovered Keating was pushing too hard, he [McCain] threw Keating out of his office and ended all relations with him,” Dowd said.

THIS IS A FRIGHTENING video that should have all Americans, but especially White Americans, quaking in their boots if the messiah is elected. This is so similar to the early Black Panther movement and Hitler’s Youth Squad. I as an AA am apalled at the brainwashing and militant tactics his campaign has reflected. Add this to the children’s choir in California, and this is Jim Jones revisited! PLEASE WATCH the video. This will help to sink the messiah real fast!

KarenWi: There are more registered Dems than Republicans and while we have been talking here for quite a while and sending it out about the Dems involvement in the crash of economy, MSM, in the tank, for Obimbo as you know, did nothing and still does not to reveal and pursue the Dems responsibility for this catastrophe. In other words, the same approach about everything re Obimbo is here being taken by MSM and lots and lots of people only get their information from MSM.

Obama wants reparations for slavery and discrimination for AA and other minorities of color, in the form of a “Repayment of the Education Debt. ” Ayers is STILL a part of Obama’s life and directing him from behind the scenes. Linda Darling-Hammand is Obama’s Education Advisor and tied to Ayers. Read this:

The Ayers/Obama stealth relationship continues. In 2006 Professor Gloria Ladson-Billings of the University of Wisconsin, the then president of the American Education Research Association (AERA), the nation’s leading School of Education professional association, proposed a new policy to tackle the problems of America’s public schools: the repayment of centuries of “education debt” that allegedly is owed to people of color as a result of slavery and discrimination. She rooted the concept in the literature supporting reparations for slavery.
In 2007 Linda Darling-Hammond, a prominent and respected professor at the Stanford University School of Education, endorsed the same idea in an article in The Nation. In late 2007 Darling-Hammond was named an education advisor to the Obama campaign. In February 2008 Darling-Hammond issued a blueprint for education reform by the next President that set as its #1 priority the repayment of the “education debt,” as proposed originally by Ladson-Billings.
Bill Ayers has endorsed the idea of repayment of the “education debt.” Ayers is now a Vice President-elect (Division B: Curriculum Studies) of the AERA.
A chapter called “Education for Democracy” by Darling-Hammond appeared in a volume co-edited by Ayers called A Light in Dark Times. A chapter co-authored by Ladson-Billings on “racing justice” appeared in a book co-edited by Ayers called Teaching for Social Justice: A Democracy and Education Reader. Ladson-Billings wrote the foreword to Ayers’ book, To Teach: The Journey of a Teacher. Ayers and Ladson-Billings are co-editors of City Kids, City Schools: More Reports from the Front Row just published.

I see a lot of pUMAS getting worked up over these polls.

DO a little research people and put your mind a t ease. Go look at gallups voting by…whoever. Look at the numbers and ask your self if you really believe Carpathia can appeal to that many conservatives and moderates.
Next they will be telling us the Christian right is going Obama.

Regarding Keating investigation, The whole situation was investigated in depth and McCain was never charged with anything. In fact it was said that he and Glenn should have been removed from the investigation. This is something like Whitewater is for Clinton. It has been looked at officially, McCain wasn’t charged yet it will haunt him forever. Oh and also everyone has already heard about it.

“I see a lot of pUMAS getting worked up over these polls.”

~~~~~
I’m totally on the same page with you. I’ve seen many post concerns over how can Obama be ahead in the polls? Well — he has control over the media and he’s a liar — that’s how.
Obama works on the premise that if the media encourages the perception that Obama is doing well in the polls — then everyone will want to jump on the bandwagon and vote for the popular guy. My advice to everyone reading this post — no kidding — ignore the polls.
I used to check the poll sites daily but have seen many articles from coalition sites talk about the bias tampering to achieve the poll data we are seeing. I’ve decided I’m not even going to check the poll sites anymore. Why reward them with a hit to their page so they can benefit from the advertising tracking? And if you need a pleasant thought on the polls — ask yourself this — in a year when the Republicans were supposed to take a huge hit in popularity (due to the poor Bush sentiments) — and in a year when there is poll bias tampering — why isn’t Obama doing better than they are reporting?
And as an added thought — wasn’t Kerry and Gore reported to be ahead of the game in the polls around this time in those two elections?
TOPIC: POLLS
Think about it. If you believe, as I do, that there will be a lot of voter fraud during this election then it goes without saying most of the Polling information is most likely not going to be dead-on accurate! Maybe the pollsters are implicit in their skewed results, maybe not, but fact is, it would be foolish to assume the Polls are all correct at this juncture.
#371 NewOrleansPuma on 10.06.08 at 6:19 pm
366redstateguy: That is true…I was simply trying to note that we dems have traditionally thought in ways re republicans and the economy which tended to blame repulicans for financial problems, even before this election cycle. This cylcle everything is an Alice in Wonderland interlude!..upside down and backways! so you see someone like me. a traditional dem doing the opposite….never before would you have seen me do that because genuinely I believed the opposite for the most part….anyway..good point, red state!..
POLLS POLLS POLLS
Rush Limbaugh the other day said that the polls are weighted to make the Obama look on top so as to drive down Repub morale. The polling groups in the last 48 hours will switch to actual close numbers so as to not loose their credibility. In 2004 they had Kerry winning, in 2000 they had Gore winning. The numbers got close in the final days. (and NO Repubs didn;t “steal” either election). It will be another tight once, absent a major october surprise
McCain gets more aggressive
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/06/mccain-to-get-more-aggressive-who-is-the-real-barack-obama/#comments
“It’s about time. Obama fired the first shot a few weeks ago when he said he was taking off the gloves. Well, well, now everybody’s gloves are off. Whoever McCain knew, they didn’t try to kill Americans. They didn’t preach hate to Americans.
The problem for McCain is that every news organization out here has their lips hermetically sealed to Obama’s butt. So any chance of real news or investigative journalism is slim to none.”
Yes we hate CNN right now but let’s keep our eyes on the CNN website so we can make sure the PUMA viewpoint is represented there.
To prove my point — check out the link below for starters. I find it interesting that even if they oversample Dems on cell phones (which translates to the youth vote) — that they still don’t get ahead by the same percentage of oversampling. For example — if they over sample by 10% — Obama still doesn’t reach a 10 point lead ahead of the game. DON’T TRUST THE POLLING folks… it’s all smoke and mirrors.
I think a better strategy is let them suffer the consequences of their choice to abandon true journalism and step up the boycott by educating everyone possible to tune into FOX for true reports of the facts. Let CNN see their ratings take a bigger nose dive while they watch FOX climb. Maybe they’ll start to notice what the recipe for success is.
I find it a waste of time to argue with the Obots… I’d rather spend my energy to encouraging people to tune into FOX as their source for news. Once they give it a try… and get an ear full… they’ll be hooked.
TOPIC: testimony from the Pacific NW
snowtiger / All:
I know we like to share info about our little “corners” of the world, here’s mine from today. I guy I’ve known at work for years & always thought was a Republican surprised me today. I thought he was a Republican because he has a full-time field job and while I’m in the office more often than not, I get out w/him in his truck from time to time. And he listens to very conservative talk shows on the road.
Well anyway I went out on an assignment w/him this morning, found he’s been a registered Democrat since the ’70′s, and, sent back a form letter from the DNC asking for campaign contributions w/a note saying “Allow an Open rollcall at the convention so Hillary Clinton’s delegates can be counted!” He told me this story laughing (probably thought he was the only one who did that, ha,ha)!
He also told me that he did not have a positive view of Bill Clinton because of his womanizing, but that he wanted to see Hillary get the nomination. I’ve heard him listening to Rush Limbaugh (!), but now realize he is just really a _Very_ conservative Democrat! And yes, of course BillieJo et al, you KNOW who he’s voting for in Nov!
In fact, when I told him I was considering voting McCain, he turned to me and said “I’d encourage you to do that.”
So that’s my little story from my neck of the woods…
Hello! I have been on leave from blogging for a few months. I needed a break and at the same time, my father passed away as well. Anyway, I used to be DrTS on other PUMA sites. I have been active in getting the PUMA word out and doing prowls. I still read this site every day.
#316 mzebest – I couldn’t agree with you more. My husband is a statistician and he has calculated that the polls are oversampling Democrats over Republicans. There is no way that there is 51% Dems and 38% Repubs. in PA. I think it is to cover up that BO is losing. They are trying to play the mind game with McCain’s supporters and to get us frustrated. I can see from some of the responses that it is working. Don’t let it! I predict that as we get closer to the election, the polls will have to start reflecting what is “really” going on.
For example, some polls say that BO is winning VA. That is bs. I went to our annual Fall Festival on Saturday of which hundreds of people attend each year. They had a GOP and a Democrat booth. The GOP booth was hopping with people. The worker in the GOP booth told us that he has worked that booth for many, many Presidential elections, and he has never had so much support for McCain/Palin. I can also testify that people were wearing McCain stickers in droves. Everywhere I went, someone had on a McCain sticker. I have never seen that before, and I have been going to this Fall Festival for 18 years! People were also carrying McCain/Palin yards signs around.
So, the moral of the story is to don’t believe these polls. McCain is very popular in VA and he has solidified his support in this state.
From McCain camp:
“Does Barack Obama truly expect the American people to believe that he had no idea about his friend’s past as the infamous founder of the domestic terror group ‘The Weather Underground’ or is he just lying? If Obama didn’t know in 1995 about the bombings Ayers was responsible for, when did he find out — because Obama was promoting Ayers’ book in 1997, serving on boards with him until 2002, and trading emails and phone calls with him as recently as 2005. If Obama really was unaware of Ayers’ radical past, learning the truth doesn’t seem to have had any effect on their friendship.” …
I found a website that has an update on Berg’s lawsuit. The guy on this site talked to Berg today. Here’s the link:
http://www.americasright.com/2008/10/berg-v-obama-update-monday-october-6.html
Berg thinks Obama must have used Kenya or Indonesia as his citizenship on his college applications. That would explain why he won’t approve the colleges releasing his applications and transcripts. Makes sense now.
The judge can still rule that Obama must show discovery (birth certificate) while waiting on the dismissal ruling. Also Berg wants Feinstein who’s in charge of the DNC candidate qualifications for POTUS to investigate Obama’s citizenship.
The link explains this info.
WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE??? Obama & DNC file motion for protective order
——————————————————————————–
http://www.americasright.com
Quote:
4:45 p.m. — Obama, DNC File Motion for Leave to File Protective Order
I’ll pretty it up and explain things a little bit better later on this evening, but here’s what’s going on, so far and in brief:
As I was talking with one of my contacts at the courthouse about this motion, my phone rings and it is Philip Berg. He’s fired up. Apparently, he had just been contacted by John LaVelle, attorney for Barack Obama and the DNC, and asked whether he would “put off discovery until Judge Surrick ruled on the motion to dismiss.”
Until I have time to get into this more specifically, here’s the rub. Basically, the law states that Judge Surrick can order discovery even in the face of a pending dispositive motion such as the motion to dismiss filed on September 24 by Obama and the DNC. In other words, he can order full discovery, limited discovery, or none at all before ruling on the dismissal.
Just like with the amended complaint, an attorney cannot simply file a protective order but must file a motion for leave to file, essentially asking the judge if it is okay for the pleading to be filed. Make sense so far? Defense attorney John LaVelle filed such a motion this afternoon, a motion asking to file a protective order which would allow for a ruling to come down on the motion to dismiss before
While I’ll be talking to Berg more later on, here’s a snippet of what he had to say in our brief conversation:
“He’s asking to delay discovery and, Jeff, I’m obviously going to oppose it, ” he said. “This isn’t right. This just isn’t right. By tomorrow, we’ll have a response and put out a press release. The American people should hear about this and, if they do, they should go nuts. It’s time to put up or shut up.”
Is this true
REPOST 5
I think this is important. I’d love to see Congress flooded with emails and letters about Obama’s eligibility to run. Let them know we will never view him as legitimate without an objective, court review of his citizenship credentials. Why would anyone try to get out of proving citizenship when you’re running for President? Only makes sense if you can’t.
Only 543 letters and emails sent so far – we can do better (How about 1 million) – The letter informs our representatives of the Berg lawsuit and urges that a Court determine Obama’s eligibility to be President before the election.
MZEBEST and SNOWTIGER -
I agree with you both about the poll figures – but as you said yourself MZEBEST – the polls are getting to the people that do not know any better – they think they want to be with the winner and not waste their time voting for the opponent – or worse not even bothering voting because its all over anyway – preaching to the choir here because we all know that – somehow we have to get our heads out of the sand and get that information to the public -
Barry’s up to no good. He admits he is related to Odinga, and having Kenyan citizenship. I think he wants to become president/ruler of the U. S. so he can force communistic/marxist ideology onto the American People. It has also been my belief Barry was not born in the U. S.
I don’t know the whole story of the clinic, that’s just what I was told by an AA public health nurse when I got my flu shot. She used to work there and saw some of the more famous ones there every once in a while. It’s tempting to say that maybe violence is rewarded or that MLK was the carrot while the Panthers were the stick, but I don’t believe anyone is all good or all bad or that everything is a huge conspiracy. Maybe the truth is that things come together in ways that no one expects, or that MLK was a national figure not a local one.
A former coworker was a huge fan of the new Black Panthers and got one of them who was out of jail to speak to our work group. I think at the time they were into buying and renovating buildings. The guy was not particularly educated or a terribly good speaker and was listened to politely but not enthusiastically by the mostly AA crowd. They asked if the Panthers were recognized by NAACP and the answer was no. After that they pretty much stopped listening. That was the bottom line I guess.
Maybe the real answer is that groups like the Weather Underground and Black Panthers and the Symbionese Liberation Army rise because of unresolved social problems, but once the problem is recognized and seen as legitimate some other group is needed to actually make something happen. So you have MLK marching on Washington, but LBJ signing the voters’ rights act. I’m pretty sure the nearby medical school has a lot to do with that clinic these days.
~~~~~~

No Frodo… you misinterpret what I meant. I said that “OBAMA” operates on that premise. I don’t believe it necessarily works though. Look how he tried it in the primaries and had to crawl across the finish line while Hillary picked up steam.

I think in the end — anyone with common sense and many without common sense too :-D — will go into that voting booth and think about how they just don’t get a good feeling about Obama and can’t do it… they can’t vote for him.

I’m confident that we need to keep the pressure on. We need to ignore the polls for our own morale and for our own sake in not getting down about our efforts. Just keep doing what we’ve been doing and have faith.

Just an opinion but I don’t think the President will do anything about Obama’s violations of the Logan Act. Obama likes to say that McCain is a third term Bush… but I think OBAMA is the third term Bush and that he is an extension of Bush’s corruption. So in that sense — it wouldn’t surprise me if Bush favors Obama more than he does McCain.

ANDY MARTIN

“Factually Correct, Not

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

COUNTDOWN TO HONOLULU: 9 DAYS

OBAMA UNLEASHED “SMEAR MACHINE” ON ANDY MARTIN

MARTIN TELLS OBAMA MARTIN WILL “PUT MY LIFETIME OF TRUTH-SEEKING AGAINST YOUR LIFETIME OF LIES ANY DAY”

(HONOLULU, HI)(October 6, 2008) Barack Obama’s smear machine has gone into overdrive in response to Obama author Andy Martin’s appearance on Hannity’s America Sunday evening.

“I have received calls from national publications asking about twenty-five year old lawsuits in which I was an involuntary party,” Martin said. “I told the New York Times that if the best smears Obama has on me are 25 years old, Obama better get himself some new mud merchants.

“This is the same old slime that Obama’s and George Soros’ tax-exempt smear organizations have been dishing in an attempt to undermine the strength of my research, the persuasiveness of my conclusions and the power of my opinions. I am delighted Obama feels sufficiently wounded to bring out the mud. It looks like I drew blood.

“Based on what we know now, we will be drawing a lot more blood in our forthcoming columns. If ‘Operation Aloha Obama’ pans out, Obama will be in deep, serious doo doo. But then he likes that. The more doo doo Obama is in, the more he and Axelrod have to throw. They are probably looking for a divorce to use against me; that’s their standard m.o.

“As a result of Obama’s smears and massive national interest, book sales are skyrocketing. Amazon.com must love Obama. Orders for my book are going out the door. The publisher is trying to resupply.

“Bottom line. I stand by facts and I stand my by opinions. When a judge charges a jury in either a civil or criminal case, the judge instructs the jury that they may draw reasonable inferences from the evidence, and that they may use common sense in doing so.

“My commitment to accuracy and fairness is well-known across the Internet. That is why my columns enjoy such credibility, and draw such opposition from the Obamabots.

“I have this to say to Barack Obama: Smear away. I’ll put my lifetime of truth-seeking against your lifetime of lies any day,” Martin chuckles.

Readers of Obama: The Man Behind The Mask, say the book is still the only gold standard and practical handbook on Barack Obama’s unfitness for the presidency. Buy it.

Sean Hannity – his program was fantastic.
Senator McCain – BO is a liar…. for someone writing two books, we still do not know much about him …Go McCain………..

MEMO TO GOP – TAKE THE GLOVES OFF!

Had lunch with a co-worker. She happens to be a Dem. Her sisters feel the same way as Pumas, they do not TRUST BO and will be voting for McCain. Her argument was that she was fed up with the Republicans and would still vote for the Dems.

Now if we could get them to do a detailed program about how BO and the current democrat leadership contributed to the financial debacle we could really get somewhere. If only people would realize that a vote for “change BO style” is really a vote for MORE OF THE SAME ONLY WORSE! The AP is already talking about how this election is all sewn up and short of BO making a big mistake it’s all over…. HA! They know he’s ALREADY made the big mistakes. It looks like some things are happening on the Berg lawsuit today. Apparently Berg made some filings and Obama lawyers made a filing. The best explanation of the filings can be read here.

http://www.americasright.com/2008/10/berg-v-obama-update-monday-october-6.html

This from Obama and the DNC who claimed they wanted more open transparency under Obama. This filing by Obama apparently was close to closing time at the court house.

Obama wants to delay everything. Obama wants everything about him held secret. What does Obama hide. I hope we find out.

you can follow the blog discussion on Berg’s web site here.

freddie:

There are so many tones to flyers and faxes. Some are right in your face. BOOM! Some are weak and boring. Numbers and dates…zzz.

Make it…spooky and down home. Make it provocative so that it lingers.

Like…

Fellow American: I have questions…do you?

For some, Obama came out of nowhere. Hardly anyone had ever heard of him before recently. Suddenly he became famous. Suddenly he might be President.

It’s so sudden. Almost frantically sudden.

I have so many unanswered questions about Barack Obama. What is “change”? How come other people don’t seem as curious about who Obama is and what his plans are, or anything about his past? Why does the mainstream media seem so pro-Obama? Why are there so many forces pushing for Obama when he hasn’t been vetted? Obama’s candidacy feels like a runaway train. I wish questions would be answered. It’s starting to worry me. I am starting to worry about America. This is all happening too fast, without any sort of critical analysis. If Barack Obama became president, he would have the nuclear codes. Who is Barack Obama? Who is this guy?

#481 kat in your hat on 10.06.08 at 8:04 pm

I think one of the reasons people swamp to Obamas camp is because of this thing called ” Auto suggestion”.
Simply put, if you see something a gazillion times, it must be something good – in Obama’s case someone credible. Like subliminal advertising. Just like a trend, if you see Blue gator boots a dozen times a day, you start to think that you don’t have that in your closet and you want to be part of the cool-in-crowd.

I dunno – that’s what I think. Fred made me say it.

Oh, EMME in PA says that she sometimes attaches her own “stuff” to the flyer… She is working very hard with flyers. I know it is very difficult.

So you all can print out your own flyer or even a little blurb on a sticker and sticker it to the flyer. Like “do not leave the President slot blank when you vote” or “A vote for my country is not Racism” or “read my lipstick” .
Just print out something compelling that you want to say on white address labels and sticker it on the flyer when you get it.

Everyone has a pet saying or slogan – just do it:mrgreen:

In NYS, at least, it is against the law to send unsolicited faxes. I had my number on the do not call registry, too, and filed complaints when I received any(from loan/mortgage companies mostly).

————
Fox news was showing one of Palin’s rallies the other day. The one where John Voight was. It was HUGH! Also remember her rally after the debate. I think they said something like 10,000 people. I also don’t believe the polls. I think they want us to think that Obama has won, so don’t vote. Also seeing more McCain signs going up in liberal Austin!

So, you’re trying to restore confidence in the economy and lending system. Which message do you put out:
1) This won’t really help, and everything’s going down the dumper;
or
2) I now think the economy will be fine.

Pick one. Fudging and nuancing not allowed, because nobody will listen.

Democrats against Obama
____________________

In the PR field of politics it is always a bad idea to broadcast that you are against something it makes it very negative from before the start and drives people in the direction that you are against……it is better to be for something because people want to be part of the BELONGING….they like to follow the leader in a positive direction.

DEMOCRATS AND INDEPENDENTS FOR LEGITIMATE LEADERSHIP

CROSSOVER DEMOCRAT

DEMOCRATS AND INDEPENDENTS VOTE MCCAIN NOV 4th

MCCAIN HAS MY DEMOCRATIC VOTE

A mock ballot sheet of a box and Obama on on side and McCain on the other with a red X through Obama and a Big Black checkmark in the McCain box.

I know you are trying to get the message across that we aren’t happy with Obama as a nominee….and the public and etc. get that but it is important to direct people in the correct direction with positive actions.

atypical,

ya, I dunno, freddie has faxes to send out to over 1,500.

If I got the fax idea I wrote with an “ATTN American” at the top, it might scare the crap out of me. lol. But it would get me thinking.

We have to get people THINKING. These other ideas, or just basic anti-Obama ideas won’t penetrate.

We have to make things linger. If there is a lingering effect, they might get curious, if they get curious, they might be keen to certain McCain-Palin statements, and they might get curious enough to….(god forbid) LOOK IT UP.

lol..

I know the way to get through to Obama supporters…and it’s gotta be gentle and calm. My fax idea would work. Because even if they disagreed with it, it would linger.

Meanwhile, I do not know about fax laws.

Mama, DWP;
the files you have listed in the Center as “RFT” are actually “RTF”. It stands for “Rich Text Format”, a file that allows various fonts and colors without the huge size and formatting overhead of a DOC or other full word processor file. It can be opened with WordPro, which loads and runs much faster than Word or OpenOfficeorg. (Notebook and other simple text editors usually can’t handle rtf, though.)

Good evening everyone. Been lurking all day and doing emails, calls etc in between my real job. It has been a long day.
I think we need to try to reach the young, undecided, really dont know what they are doing crowd. My receptionist is single mother, living with fiance and his parents. She knows I have been so involved in this election for over a year now. She hears me talk about it, explain things to her etc. She even “tried” to watch the debate last week. She told me she just doesn’t understand anything about politics. Of course, her parents and all her friends etc are pressuring her to vote for barney because he is “black, and will change America”. Of course I went back into my Puma mode showing her videos, links, emails etc etc. She told me she just doesn’t really care. After being with her for a year, explaining everything, I finally told her she might be better off NOT VOTING, rather than vote for someone based on race and maybe’s . She agreed.
I am going to the college to pass out my flyers and try to talk to these young and dare I say dumb.

#584 prplvette85 on 10.06.08 at 9:19 pm

just to clarify, I mean dumb in the sense that they would rather just waste a vote, than to really think about and research each candidate. That is dumb.

I will attempt to answer the question from Murphy at the top of this thread.

I was an elementary school student when Viet Nam started. My friend Debbie had a brother who was drafted when I was in 6th or 7th grade. He came home some time later on, and was never able to settle down. Everyone said it was because of the war, but we all still supported it. I remember wearing campaign badges that said LBJ FOR THE USA. We all thought Viet Nam was honorable like WWII.

As I grew older, I started to question the war. My parents still kept their faith in our country strong. President Johnson had some really strong redeeming qualities, including being a strong advocate of education for all and help for poor and disadvantaged people. His stance on civil rights issues was a great match for Martin Luther King Jr. and together, they forced voting rights and civil rights reforms. But the war raged on.

I went to high school at the Red Bird High School complex in Bell County KY. We lived in Harlan. Being more than 60 miles by car, we had to board. Red Bird is part of the Red Bird River Missionary conference of the Methodist Church. The Methodist Church is mostly anti war. As such, we were all indoctrinated into peacenick thinking.

The draft seemed to change things for many of the kids in our school and communities. One thing that would keep a young man in high school back then was the very real specter of being drafted. It was not unusual for us to either attend a funeral or be aware of a local young man being killed in the war periodically. Being away from home expanded my circle of friends and acquaintances, and I learned to mourn even people I hadn’t met because I knew their families.

When the war first started, young men could get differments because of school. Some stayed in college just so they would avoid the draft. In time that changed, and once high school was over, everyone was subject to be drafted. Anyone could choose to defy the government and become conscientious objectors. Those people had to serve two years of alternate time in some chairity.

Red Bird had a hospital, a church, and a school in the complex. There were a whole host of other community activities that they also served. It seemed that we were getting a new CO every month or so. Several of our teachers were there doing alternate service. My trigonometry teacher was an industrial engineer serving alternate duty.

All these people had one simple understanding of war and peace: If all common people around the world would refuse to fight: there would be no more war. Somehow, as strange as it seems, it made sense to me.

By my junior year, we were all anti war. By that time, mom and dad and most of their generation was too. By that time all of us knew someone who had been killed, or maimed in the war. One of our best varsity basketball players came home blind and missing an arm and a leg. One local young man that I didn’t know, ran his car off a cliff after coming home, he simply could not deal with the flash backs and pts.

My own cousin, not local, but in the family, could not sleep in his bed once he returned home. His mother would always find him sleeping in the closet with the door shut. This continued for more than 6 months. He is now an old man before his time, suffering from exposure to agent orange.

Since that time I have met many Viet Nam era veterans, some are women. All seem to have some kind of sinister, horrifying, common bond. My long time friends Sally and Merrill have dealt with his time over there all through their marriage. Merrill was a helicopter medic who plucked wounded men out of fire fights in the jungle. He earned 3 purple hearts, two bronze stars, and a silver star for his bravery. When he came home, he threw them away and became a drunk. He is now in a nursing home suffering from agent orange and alcohol related problems. He will probably neve come home again. He is another casualty of the war. His name should go on the wall.

The horrors of the war, including the protests, Kent State, and all the rest are imbedded into the psyche of my generation. The weather underground and other radical groups were using this as an excuse. Instead of doing the positive like the conscientious objectors did, they added to the violence. Sometimes it seemed that the world was coming apart at the seams.

The Civil Rights movement also created a fertile field for radicalism. The people who were once victims soon became the agressors. Whole districts in cities burned in riots. Once peaceful neighborhoods seemed to be disjointed. We started being suspicious of one another. And groups like the Black Panthers formed and used their influence in conjunction with the anti war groups.

It was a bad time. By 1975 or 1976, most of it was over. My husband and I were married in 1973. I was 20 years old. We were both still confused and sorting it out. Mostly, we were relieved.

I think Obama’s radical friends wanted more than just an end to the war and civil rights reform. The war ended long ago, and civil rights laws were passed and implemented. They wanted something akin to the Soviet or Chinese revolutions. The turmoil of the 60′s was their catalyst and justification. The current war gives them new justification for destroying our society.
