Women Under Pressure, or, “So You Don’t Want to Vote for Obama?”

CASTING CALL:
I have a Puma PAC member who wants to shoot a “So You Don’t Want To Vote For Obama” commercial, something simple and direct. There are a lot of women who don’t want to vote for him but are feeling pressured to do so. She would like to create something to encourage them to go with their instincts and let them know they don’t have to tell anyone who it is they vote for. Give them some substance to back up their inclinations and hope it goes viral.
She’s looking for someone who lives in the LA area, and who wouldn’t mind putting their face to this stand. They need to speak well and be able to memorize lines. The shoot will be simple – they’ll be sitting in a chair facing a camera. I don’t care about age, gender or race. They don’t need to be conventionally pretty or handsome although that’s welcome as well. They just need to be interesting and passionate and able to memorize lines. Anyone who is interested should drop her a line at scythe at iq secure dot com and preferably include a photo. Tell her why you’d like to do the spot. Include your name and phone
number.
(I can enthusiastically vouch for this person — professionally and personally. If you would like to speak with me about it, email me at the usual location. ;-) )

This photo captures how I feel here in my neighborhood, surrounded by Obiden signs, where I dasn’t speak of anything Nobama or risk certain shunning. Oddly enough, this neighborhood was originally a gated community, open only to professors. Interesting, yes?

re commercial:
“They need to speak well and be able to memorize lines.”
…in LA???
half the people that live there do not speak well or want to memorize lines..
let the people be themselves and speak from their hearts..let them say what they feel inside even if it is not expressed so “well”

Concerning the video you mentioned above Murphy. If this is a video about why a women doesn’t want to vote for BO, why do they have to memorize any lines?

Will this person be told what to say?

Everybody—PLEASE help us!!
We have volunteers putting flyers on cars every weekend in the swing states—but we need help!!
Please contact your state coordinator by email using the state abbreviation (example: Pennsylvania=PA@RealDemocratsUSA.org)
We desperately need volunteers in:
Virginia (VA@RealDemocratsUSA.org),
Ohio (OH@RealDemocratsUSA.org)
Pennsylvania (PA@RealDemocratsUSA.org)
Michigan (MI@RealDemocratsUSA.org)
Even if you can’t participate in a group event, download some flyers and paper a parking lot Saturdays or when you’re running errands (or church on Sundays!)
Whether you can put out 25 flyers or 250 or 2500—every thing you do WILL make a difference no matter where you live.
Attached are some new flyers…find more on our website under “Action”
http://www.RealDemocratsUSA.org
Please help!
Thanks, guys!

neworleanspuma, wrt the catholic canon lawyer supporting Obama, amen sister. I believe incoherent double (or triple, or infinite) standards practiced by Obama and his Movement should be exposed. Not argued with, because, as you said, their positions are INCOHERENT. Crazy people cannot be argued with, as we all know from personal experience. But they shouldnt be just nodded along to either.

padem, you sure piqued my curiosity!

hi mountainsong!

thanks Osaka — good to know.

shampoovta, sounds like YOU should be in the commercial.

Anyone within a few hours drive of LA should respond – trust me!

(you all know who you are that I’m looking at right now!)

I’ll probly catch some flak for the pic above. I think it’s a perfectly graphic and stark illustration of the concept of women under pressure — at least in my fetid brain.

Dances – I am not doing well at that site – I am beginning to think its MY COMPUTER and not even the problem that I have been trying to log on here – my code name is: Miss Confused – I went under Politics and typed in a long sentence under the part where they were attacking Palin for her saying nucclleear – and tried to put in about Berg Lawsuit, Acorn, caucus fraud and on and on – and then when I hit comment – page disappeared – so went to three others areas and had the same stupid thing happen to me again – and this is not an easy site to meet up with friends unless you know the topic you will go under – did this at least 10 times yesterday – but again thought it was this computer – same thing happening today –

Meet you in Politics and see what we can do there -only two comments that seem to have taken – both are for you know who.

Lets jump em – anyone else on here as well – go to this womens website and just dump in a nice way – all the stuff that we have been collecting here forever and pick your own area to go into – there are plenty and Murphy says millions of women read this – how else can we get the women of America to know what we know here.

#30 mountainsong on 10.04.08 at 3:45 pm

TY, Osala. But i still wish I had more to give. Every day I pray for the willingness to be less selfish and more selfLESS. For the removal of anger, and replacing it with empathy and compassion, joy and gratitude. Because the energy we send out to the Universe will come back to us in greater measure.
As a humble man once said…it’s better to understand, than to be understood. Better to give, than to receive. Better to love, than to be loved.

There are secret PUMA’s everywhere. Last night my daughter and I were at an art gallery and we acted as hostesses. The one artist who sold a painting was very proud of it and discussed it all night long. He was in his 70′s and wore large McCain/Palin buttons on his shirt.

His digital work was of Barry with his arrogant face surrounded by the great leaders of the communist party, Marx, Lenin, Stalin…It was the hit of the evening.

One lady came to the gallery door, but was afraid to come in. In her hand she had a McCain/Palin sign. She said: “Are you going to kick me out?” because I was looking at it.

I said, “Heck no, come on in and bring the sign”. She said she was a Hillary voter, but is now for McCain. The other galleries that were hosting parties made her leave when they saw her sign.

I said don’t worry, I am a PUMA, but I was not wearing my bracelet. She was so relieved to hear we were like her, and I gave her our website info.

She was thrilled. I love being a stealth PUMA, and so does my daughter.

#39 Gogandalf on 10.04.08 at 3:49 pm

DANCES – its under YOU SHOULDN’T BE ABLE TO PUSH THE BUTTON IF YOU CAN’T SAY THE WORD – the author is putting down Palin for saying nuclear and some of her expressions of soccer mom etc as making her sound illiterate – so she got blasted – that is where I am waiting for you –

Are you somewhere else that I can join in with you

#40 warrior4hillary on 10.04.08 at 3:50 pm

Friends,

Millions of people across the country have joined the grassroots effort to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin as our next President and Vice President. Many of you have attended town hall meetings, rallies and other campaign events and want to know how you can help the McCain-Palin ticket.

There are two ways you can help right now – making calls through our online phone bank and recruiting your friends and family to get involved in our campaign.
Make Phone Calls: With our online phone bank, it’s never been easier to volunteer. If you can take 20 minutes out of your day today to make calls for the McCain-Palin campaign, you can make a big difference. Choose the state where you would like to make calls, use the call script on your computer screen, and record the results online. It’s that simple.

Recruit Friends: This is going to be a close election. Some experts predict it will be one of the closest elections in our country’s history. By spreading the word about your support for John McCain and Sarah Palin, you are directly helping our campaign expand our grassroots network of supporters. Start recruiting your friends by following this link.
Remember, you are the most persuasive spokesperson for John McCain and Sarah Palin to your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. That’s why I’m asking you to make calls and recruit your friends by telling them why you support McCain-Palin, and why they should too.

We appreciate all of your hard work.

Sincerely,

Christian Ferry
Deputy Campaign Manager

TIME is now critical TO DO ALL WE CAN !!!

 SOME more SUGGESTIONS:

♦ -Forward all good links, Youtube videos, articles, posts, and anti-BO talking points to everyone you know.

♦ -Take the good posts or info that you post here and post them in other websites as well (to reach many more people). Anything that can help sway people away from BO should go Web-viral (and Email-viral)!!!

Gogandalf, what site were you trying to put links into? I found that when I went to the McCain blog and tried to put links to the caucus fraud website I could not post, tried 25 times and then when asked other bloggers there they said you could not use @ or similar characters. They said I had to spell everything out, and periods were okay. I also wasn’t able to use any profanity  (a blessing here under the circumstances of this election) and couldn’t say ‘sucks’.
Check out that blog and see if anyone else was able to put in word formatting or something similar and that will let you know if you are blocked from that type of post, or if it is for being gandolf.

Hi everyone…

Is anybody else having a moment of deja vu nowadays?

Hillary and Nobama were neck and neck throughout most of the primaries, and then towards the end, Nobama pulled way ahead and although the Hillary camp tried to reassure us that there was a chance for Hillary to pull it off, we lost to Nobama.

I feel like the same has happened to McCain. He was neck and neck with Nobama for most of the general election campaign season, but now, Nobama has pulled way ahead, and the Nobama camp is issuing statements that the race is practically over. I don’t want to believe it for one second, but it is very disconcerting to realize how this same scenario happened in the primaries. I am very concerned and very, very depressed…

#70 Gogandalf on 10.04.08 at 4:14 pm

Somebody at that site fact checked me and what I posted as his paying .87 to $1.00 for men – they proved incorrectly – they get the same if they are in the same position – oops —- I have been using this on I can not say how many letters to the editors – oops -
ok back undercover – lets see where else I can go – a LOT LOT of Obama supporters – but not evil there – like in most places.

The gloves are OFF! Finally the GOP is doing something instead of staying quiet. They’re now exposing NObama.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday accused Democrat Barack Obama of “palling around with terrorists” because of his association with a former 1960s radical, stepping up the campaign’s effort to portray Obama as unacceptable to American voters.
Palin’s reference was to Bill Ayers, one of the founders of the group the Weather Underground. Its members took credit for bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol, during the tumultuous Vietnam War era four decades ago. Obama, who was a child when the group was active, served on a charity board with Ayers several years ago and has denounced his radical views and activities.

I read a lot of science fiction as a kid and the Obots are exactly as described in them old pulp mags.

They can put the rat cage on my face. I don’t care. McCain is just a Republican but Obama is 2+2=5. I am not down with that at all.

Simple. When Sarah Palin does it, NObama and his cult followers cannot accuse her as racist and they can’t use sexist remarks or it will all go back to NObama.

Plus its the job of VP to expose and attack leading candidate of the opposing party. What makes her attack against NObama from debate with Biden and now in Colorado, it is based on facts which is not known to a lot of Americans.

i am glad you are off the hammock… i was thinking this morning, that i am also wishing the Repub. would get more fired up. But the reality is that, we are doing this for us, for us to defeat Obama because he is so damn not the right person to lead us. At this point, I *&^% don’t care about the issues, my gut says he is dangerously unfit for America and that is all I need.
——-
You got mail.
I am on and off the hammock when I see some reaction from the Republican’s stepping up…
Sarah is carrying the load at the moment and it ticks me off that McCain is being too timid. Enough of the povertypimp getting a free ride on everyone’s backs to the finish line. I will not carry the Republican’s on my back either.

#86 Asian4Hillary on 10.04.08 at 4:24 pm

#79 Ario

Lets put it this way, GOP are more of a PUMA, they’re lurkers. Hillary was very timid when it comes to stating facts about NObama, she was told by the DNC not to say anything about his association with UNSAVORY characters who has nothing in mind but to destroy this country.

In fact during primary, Hillary was counteracting NObama with one hand tied behind her back. NObama was able to literally say anything about Hillary and Bill, that includes race baiting; people like Clyburn shamelessly use race card against the Clintons and UNAPOLOGETIC about it.

I disagree. It is the job of the candidate to show that he can step up and show he is a leader, not just expect his VP to go on the attack. Sarah has gotten slammed by the Democrats……….not called a raciest….that is minor compared to having her family protrayed as stupid, shot-gun-wedding hillbillies, can’t read, deer in the headlights. Don’t get me started on how Sarah has the job and is protected. I am not mad at you but how this election is a flippin’ travesty and attacks anyone that is not up obie’s @ss!

This is a bow made by Ohio Mfg in honor of Palin.

The company will donate 10 percent of Sarah-Cuda proceeds to the National Association for Down Syndrome. The 44-year-old Palin is a mother of five who gave birth earlier this year to a son with the genetic condition.

Secret, Foreign Money Floods Into Obama Campaign
By: Kenneth R. Timmerman

More than half of the whopping $426.9 million Barack Obama has raised has come from small donors whose names the Obama campaign won’t disclose.

And questions have arisen about millions more in foreign donations the Obama campaign has received that apparently have not been vetted as legitimate.

I have talked to undecided voters here in PA and many of them are not going to vote for BO. Yesterday there was a rally here for BO and my brother and sister-in-law (former Hillary supporters and died-in-the-wool-democrats went to it–Ugh!!). My sister-in-law said she had called about 100 people this week for BO…and guess what… she lost her voice now!!! I told her that was a sign that she needs to stop talking for BO!!! From Clinton Democrats:

Now we are forced to make a very tough choice. Many life-long Democrats are, for the first time, having a moral dilemma when it comes to supporting the Democratic candidate for President.

Those of us that have followed this election closely from the beginning have seen things that would make it virtually impossible to cast a vote for the Democrats this year.

John McCain’s campaign recognized the situation immediately and wisely extended a hand to the PUMAs. They let us know that, although we may have some policy differences, we agree on one critical tenent:

Country before party.

Yes, we are in “upside-down” land. Many of us will be casting votes for McCain-Palin. If you, as Clinton Democrats can’t go there, we totally understand.

However, it is time to shore up the Democratic arm of the Democratic party. This will be accomplished by exposing those complicit in the manipulation and corrosion of our system of democracy. We must be activist in booting out these cowardly & self-serving members of both parties.

When I was growing up even after I’ve graduated college, our house was like an armory, I go to bed wearing black jeans and black shirt, my lover sleep with me-M16. Right on the floor of my bedroom, there’s a small trap door you open during “encounter” it goes directly to foxhole underneath our house (L-shape). Our house was surrounded by sandbags.

Key states are dropping and women are changing over to BO for some reason.
We must reach these women to change their opinions –

Montana – McCain 52-44 – BUT women give BO 5% higher vote over McCain
North Carolina – BO – 50-47 – 12% women BO over Mc
New Mexico – 49-44 – 17% Hispanic and 10% women BO over McCain

We must stop this trend.

Do they WANT our country to be handed over to terrorists? Do they WANT to be paying even more taxes? Do they WANT to not be able to hunt anymore (guns taken away)? Do they WANT sex ed in kindergarten? Do they WANT the “born alive protection act” to be cancelled and babies who survive abortions left to die? Do they WANT the financial situation to be even worse than it is now??? Do they WANT us to be the laughing-stock of all of our enemies??? What fools! They would risk ALL of our lives and our freedoms by their foolishness!

Hi My fellow PUMAS!

Miss being with you all. Went to the doctor yesterday and I have an upper respiratory infection…gotta be careful since I had pneumonia a year ago.

Been watching Fox news and Sarah brought up Ayers in her speech today. We need to give the McCain Campaign all the info regarding the One so that he will be busy defending his records, actions and associations. The frauds during the primaries need to be brought up and also ongoing cheats/frauds for the general election. BO will do anything and everything to win this election. I talked to many of my African-American friends about why they are voting for BO even though they do not think he is the right person to lead this country especially with everything that’s going on now. However, it seems that most of them are voting for him because of pride and historic election in that BO gives them hope that they will have an African-American in the White House this year. They do not want to give their hopes and dreams up when they feel they are so close to victory. It’s unfortunate they do not realize if BO becomes president, he won’t be able to deliver the promises he gave to them during the campaign. I have been called a racist and have been pressured by so many of my friends to vote for BO. Even 80-20 has endorsed BO and are working very hard to deliver a bloc vote for him. I wish these people would wake up and think and do their own research. At the same time, McCain need to step up his campaign and be on the offense and let the gloves come off. He’s losing a lot of supporters these past 10 days. The only way to keep BO off the White House is to vote for McCain/Palin. Staying at home or vote other party will deliver victory for BO/Biden. I did gain a handful of independents who will gladly vote for McCain/Palin after having a heart-to-heart talk with them. Keep up the good work PUMAS!

They just do not do it.

they automatically give a security license to all elected officials Senators and House of Reps.

Right now Obama is given full access to all of the most secret security of the usa. Complete access to the deepest level. NO SECURITY CLEARANCE NEEDED.

I think the only way the Republican’s are going to pull this election off is the exposure of ACORN and the Fannie and Freedie link to the Democrats.

Repubs are getting the shaft for the economy problems because of the war, yet the bailout is because of above mentioned.
Unless there is a security threat before Nov 4th, and I hope that doesn’t happen.

Friends here: somebody was kind enough to reference post of mine over at Tapper’s ABC News blog. There is a rather strange person posting there who claims I’m “BSing”.

(This, by the way, is the post that got referenced on Tapper. It has been drawing some powerful reactions, 99.9 per cent positive, all very intense.
http://tdg.typepad.com/heidi_lis_potpourri/2008/10/what-is-the-quality-of-your-intent.html)

But egardless of the brief mention of my post, you might want to check out the Tapper post and put in your two cents. The thread could use some thoughtful comments.

#200 mountainsong on 10.04.08 at 5:55 pm

194 Ario No way, Brother. We all do our part the way we do it. We share some common goals. I don’t see why we can’t do prowls and still have fun and enjoy each others’ company.
What will be, will be. No matter the outcome, we’ll all stil be here on earth. Let’s make the most of it, because we are all sharing this moment in time.

#201 BillieJo on 10.04.08 at 5:57 pm

I defend Ario, Dances.

I understand your feeling of urgency and wanting to see people only prowl….yet, it isn’t up to you to tell people what to do.

I am not prowling all the time, because people tell me to. Some of the mass prowls I do not follow because I do not believe they are going in the right direction. I make my own choices, my own way. I do things every day for the cause, but I don’t feel I should have to post it to have legitimacy to be on the blog.

I adore you Dances, so don’t take this as an attack, I appreciate what you have done and will do, and I hope you see that.

I announced that sometimes I am on the hammock, it is because of the reasons I stated many times above and I give that right to others.

Now you will probably come back at me because I wanted a site or place where when we wanted to just be active and prowl, and I still want that…because just chatting is not productive. Yet…………………. there are times when some of us feel so isolated from the voters in our state, town or work place that we need a place to feel welcome and decompress until we feel revived. I am not feeling revived at the moment.

Tapper’s report makes it sound like the Republicans are finally considering doing their own job. And that would give me the same sort of relief you are seeking. As was said about Sen. #214 Asian4Hillary on 10.04.08 at 6:09 pm

In defense of Ario and others here, prowling is easy, you send an email, you have no personal contact; the hardest thing to do is face to face contact, giving your phone number to someone living in another side of the state and make three way calling.

NO ONE should dumb down what other PUMAS are doing in fact we all should appreciate each other; no pissing contest, usually you’ll end up getting wet with your own piss. Seldom I join email prowl, but what I do others may have a hard time doing it, I do face to face contact with a person, I have to know what I’m talking about front, center and back, no margin for errors. They know where I live, they know what I look like, they have my phone numbers. In fact last week I was busy doing three way phone calls in Columbus, Ohio, I have a contact there, a GOP I’ve known for years, a friend I’ve known since 1991. We’re targetting undecided voters and those leaning towards NObama. I maybe living in the Northwest, but sure as hell my campaigning for McCain is not limited here, I even make phone calls in California thru my friends and family living there. I’m lucky I have unlimited plan for my phone, I can call long distance without paying extra.

We all have a common goal as mountainsong have stated, a goal bigger than ourselves, bigger than our ego, bigger than pissing contest.

Please stop this sniping with each other, it not serving any purpose; this organization is only as strong or weak as the people within it.

Asianforhillary, you make an excellent point. When I was volunteering for HRC, I used to have to force myself to do the phone banking. I HATED it. I also do not think I was very good at it. I wasn’t nervous, I just did not enjoy having people hang up on me or say mean things.

But, my sister (who lives in swing state Virginia), doesn’t mind it at all. I tell myself that we are balancing each other out. She doesn’t enjoy writing, so I do the text kinds of things. She is a great connecter with people, so talking on the phone with strangers is more comfortable for her.

BTW – do you really sleep with a gun?

Somebody at that site fact checked me and what I posted as his paying .87 to $1.00 for men – they proved incorrectly – they get the same if they are in the same position
============

Technically they’re right. So the real issue is, WHY does McCain hire more women for higher positions?

Obama accused McCain’s staff of being an ‘old boyz network’ — but it is the other way around. Obama barely has half and half — McCain has MORE women at all levels than men. I’ll go look for a cite.

This is what I posted on MO’s Article.

Please Ladies open your eyes. Together we watched Obama discriminate against a women that was more qualified, more deserving of an executive position when he choose his VP. Equal pay, equal rights c’mon as usaul we are being pandered to. We are smarter than this, it is time we open our eyes and see the writing on the wall. Action speaks louder than words. I’m gonna vote for McCain not because I think he will push the equal pay (which now he just might) but because I expect more from democrats and they need to learn that they cannot pander to us, they must earn our vote. And when Obama did not choose Hillary he lost my vote.

Re: women being pressured to vote for BO

I can see how women would be made to feel bad. I do volunteer work and the BO supporters that I volunteer with had been giving me dirty looks because I didn’t have the required BO bumpersticker and hadn’t declared my support. After a while they got the message that I was not going to change my mind and now they’ve backed off on the dirty looks, but there is still a general standoffishness towards me. I find it interesting that they’ve never directly confronted me though. I would love to have that conversation with them because I want the opportunity to spell out exactly why I’m not voting for BO. Long story short, I can make my own decisions and I haven’t tried to change their minds, so they should just generally leave me alone. After all, Donna Brazile told us back in the spring that they didn’t need women, immigrants, seniors, Hispanics, etc. to win. So, BO doesn’t want or need our help anyway. Don’t feel bad ladies and gentlemen. BO, the Democratic Party, and America will be alright if BO doesn’t win and goes back to Congress.

Best,
Lara08

> GETTING PHONE LISTS for phoning to defeat BO

A week or two ago, I wrote a post about the urgency to start making phone calls to swing states. I asked for ideas and input on how we can get phone lists or numbers to call.

One obvious strategy is to sign up at McCain’s website ( http://www.JohnMcCain.com/PhoneBank ) for phoning to help defeat BO.

Another strategy, which was suggested and discussed in reply to my inquiry by various PUMAs, is a little more “sneaky.” Here’s what some pumas said about it (I deleted the usernames of the posters just in case there may be objections).

—————————-
A PUMA WROTE:

Landi – what if we signed up to make phone calls for Obama and then when we get the phone list we call the people and tell them not to vote for him ???

*********************************

ANOTHER PUMA WROTE:

If anyone is interested, you can sign up (don’t use your info) and get a list of people that Obama wants you to call. This is from their Neighbor to Neighbor project.
Once you get this list, you can either choose to NOT call (therefore tying up their list) or call and get them to not elect NoBama. I have signed up many times to get the list…

Use this link and go to the sign up. The list will appear on your screen right away so you can copy and paste to call or just ignore it.
Sometimes you may not get any phone numbers – it depends on the zip code. You just have to try again. Once I didn’t get anything, it said no phone numbers available but I poked around and when I came back to the page, there were 25 phone numbers waiting for me.

http://my.barackobama.com/modules/votercontact/login_signup.php

————————————–

ANOTHER PUMA WROTE:

Heck, I’ll register to make calls and do whatever it takes to get as many lists as I can. I’ll make the calls but need to come up with what I’ll say. Maybe just mark them as calls made and get another list………………

************************

ANOTHER PUMA WROTE:

Would that give us local phone numbers or do they give us an option to get numbers for swing states?

——————————————–

ANOTHER PUMA WROTE:

I just went to that site and got some phone #’s. You can put in any zip code you want – I did Keene, NH though I live in VT. For my address and phone I gave the Walmart in Keene. I got ten names. One female was listed as being 108 years old. OMG!

————————————-

ANYONE ELSE HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TACTIC?

OR SHARE OTHER WAYS TO GET PHONE LISTS IN SWING STATES (WAYS TO REACH SWING STATE PEOPLE THROUGH THE PHONE, apart from the McCain site, which is one very good means).

- ALSO IDEAS FOR WHAT TO SAY.

LASTEST EMAIL FROM MICHELLE

Friend —

We’re right in the middle of a very narrow voting window that could make the difference in this election. And we have to act fast.

Ohio voters have until this Monday, October 6th, to register and vote early… all in one step. This is an extraordinary opportunity to get the votes we need to win Ohio.

And since Ohio is a key battleground state — and played a pivotal role in the last presidential contest — winning in Ohio could help us secure a national victory.

So what can you do to help Barack win in Ohio? You can help us Get Out The Vote — and tip the balance in this election — right from your own living room.

Get a list of potential Ohio supporters and their phone numbers right now. Give them a call and make sure they vote early for Barack.

Republican officials in Ohio didn’t want voters to have this opportunity. In fact, they challenged One-Stop Early Vote in court. They tried to prevent new people from entering the political process. But we fought back, and we won.

This is your chance to make a huge difference in a crucial battleground state. Polls in Ohio are extremely close. You can help push us to victory.

The calls you make today could change the direction of our country for generations. We have to seize this opportunity — for our children, our country, and our future.

Get your list of potential supporters in Ohio and call them before this narrow three-day window closes:

http://my.barackobama.com/n2nOhio

There are just 30 days left until Election Day.

To win this election, we’ve got to make sure as many people as possible come out and vote — and make their voices heard.

It’s up to you to make it happen. First in Ohio, then in your state.

Thank you so much for your support of this campaign. We could never have come this far without you. Now, let’s work together all the way through Election Day to bring the change our country needs.

Michelle

I learned that years ago I hardly ever use my Visa I use my debit card . Nobody down ticket is getting my vote even if they voted no on the bail out they had every right to come out and be honest with the american people to send the bail out money to the same people and to allow the IRS to go undercover to catch american people is bull this is how they are going to get revenue up just like in the eighty’s when they took peoples belongings even if you owed nothing. I can’t believe the timing on this bail out just happened wall street IMO want’s BO

SCRIPTS for PHONE CALLS to defeat BO

 RE: “Share your ideas for what to say”:

One possible way to open the phone conversation which I’ve used, more or less:

“Hi… my name is [real or “stage name”]… [OR: “I’m a concerned Democrat” (if calling Dem lists)… or “I’m a concerned citizen”]… “[And] I’m very concerned about the choices we have in this presidential election. I feel that electing Barack Obama would not be very good for our nation. I’ve done quite a bit of research on him and I can share with you some of what I know that you may not be completely aware of. I can also try to answer questions you may have about Obama vs McCain……..”

I think we should have 2 sets of scripts: one for the undecided voters(our main target group ) and the other for countering the Obots (which wastes time ).

I think the caller by using the script, should be able to identify quickly his/her target in order to maximize time and energy.

very frightening.

Lately I have been thinking how I dislike Obama and how part of it is because he reminds me of my ex-husband. I felt a little guilty, as if I were not being objective. But Ali Sina explains it so well – his words are chilling. Obama displays many of the signs of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. And that can only mean trouble if he is the President.

Everyone should check out the NPD article by Ali Sina and his video which is linked in Billie Jo’s #299.

I’ve sent the link to several people I know will share it with others.

#26 Patty said:

I’m gonna vote for McCain not because I think he will push the equal pay (which now he just might) but because I expect more from democrats and they need to learn that they cannot pander to us, they must earn our vote.

EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK

The Equal Pay Act was signed into law in 1963 by President Kennedy.

Equal pay for equal work has been the law of the land since 1963 and a big federal bureaucracy enforces the law. Employees are entitled to equal pay for equal work within the same establishment, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age or disability. If you feel you are being discriminated against you can file a complaint/charge against your employer with The US Equal Employment Commission (EEOC). The Equal Pay Act has been on the books for 45 years!

If it were really true that businesses paid women less than men for the same work, then cost-conscious bosses would hire only or mostly women. Since that seldom happens there must be other factors.

“Women get paid 75 percent for the same kind of work” than men do is likely true. The pay of the average American women includes millions of women who have spent many years raising children without any personal cash income and will seldom reach the pay level of similarly qualified men. Many married women with children work temporary part-time jobs. The pay gap in America is not between men and women at all, but between married women and other women and men who spend their lifetimes in the workforce.

Hello all: I was not feeling sorry for myself or unappreciated when I departed before. This crowd is nothing but supportive of my input. But because I am only able to stop by from time to time, I do try to make sure I’m not in the way of what you all are doing or discussing.

Evening all.
Does anyone have the video where “O’ is talking about Hispanics not taking black seats in Chicago?
I need it in a bad way. I thought I had the thing saved at youtube. Can’t find it.
I was talking today with a mexican american woman who was going to sit out the election, She didn’t see either side as helpful ot hurtful to the questions her community wanted answered. I told about “O’s view and she said “Thats enough for me. I will vote McCain as a protest.”
Later I was talking with a young man active in his student government in college and creating an open Latino org. on campus. That is open to everyone irregardless of who they are to promote Chicano culture.
He was appalled at “o”s statements.
Seems to be a winning point.

I thought this might brighten your day! It’s my bird Roxie first saying “dance”….then my favorite chant. The video quality is not that great, but you’ll get the idea. She used to chant “Hillary” and still does sometimes! I have to watch and not swear around her…she picks up everything!

Great article on BO and his minions silencing all dissent.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/10/liberals_rethink_free_speech.html

Excerpt:

“It’s all just a taste of what’s to come if Obama wins and Democrats have even bigger majorities in Congress, emboldening them to try to crush their antagonists once and for all. “Hate is not a family value” was a popular bumper sticker on the left during the 1990s. Now, the left has embraced hate as, if not a family value, the organizing spirit of its long assault on George W. Bush, and anyone else in the way, from Joe Lieberman to Sarah Palin.”

Oh and KarenWI, of course, the DNC is quashing lawsuits. They quash anything rather than have an open and honest debate.

Palin says Obama friendly with terrorists

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081004/pl_nm/us_usa_politics

NGLEWOOD, Col., Oct 4 – Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin accused Democratic candidate Barack Obama on Saturday of “palling around with terrorists,” in the latest sign the campaign is turning increasingly nasty.

The comment by Palin, whose running mate John McCain is vying against Obama for president in the November 4 election, was dismissed by the Obama campaign as “gutter politics” and came shortly after the McCain campaign had already called the U.S. senator from Illinois a liar.

Cross-post from clintondems. Maybe we can pass to media too.

The Conspiracy of Silence
Posted on October 4th, 2008 by everyvotecounts
This was a comment posted by someone with the handle cfbleachers on the Pajamas Media story posted earlier. It is deserving of its own diary…if anyone knows this poster, please let them know we have posted their comment here in a diary.

This is the kind of information that those not following the election as closely as we have been are not aware of. It needs to get out there and we have to be brave enough to tell people about it. It is hard to do without coming off as some sort of “conspiracy theorist”, but we must let people know what is happening in this country. Here is cfbleachers’ post:

There is a frightening aspect of intimidation, repression, suppression of facts, and deconstruction of evidence that surrounds the campaign …and, indeed the life…of the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.

The standard “hard bounceback” response to almost any inquiry into the vetting process of the almost completely unknown history of the Senator from Illinois…is a mixture of empty platitudes, non-answer denials, accusations of racism, threats of retaliation and revenge and secreting of documentation.

The Democratic Party Media (DPM) operatives have engaged in a nearly universal conspiracy of silence…which is only broken to ridicule, lampoon and deride those with the hubris to merely make an inquiry into the murky associations and thuggery tactics of those associated with the Obama campaign. Anyone asking any questions about the Democratic candidate, are met with hurled epithets, slander, false accusations, false attributions, and suggestions that they are paranoid, Rovian Robots, or racist pigs.

But, they never answer the questions. The campaign has taken on a bizarre Nixonian flavor with enemy lists and carefully orchestrated “action orders” to take down anyone who disagrees.

This stinks of Soros and the vile little gremlins of the brown-shirted lefist variety at Move.on….who emulate their sugar daddy’s utter disregard for ethics and morality…while iron fisting socialism down the throat of and unwilling public body.

The conspiracy of silence extends to a new brand of leftism in our own land, much more aggressive and oppressive in tactics and now containing an “in your face” quality…in which truth, facts and news are subjective Machiavellian whims to be trifled with and bent, if necessary, to meet the “message”.

Fact finding is now a “distraction” from the “real” issues. Digging for the truth is met with an immediate “call to action” whereby all inquiries are shouted down by the Ayers Youth.

Public and university libraries conspire to shroud documents in layers of phony legal obstructions, while they stall, hinder and delay requests for freedom of review.

There is a brewing dark cloud rumbling and the conspiracy of silence calls down the thunder.

It is impossible to know at this moment in time, what is real, what is imagined, what is overblown and what is not…about the associations, beliefs, actions and intentions of the Democratic nominee. But a chill wind precedes the whole of it. Nancy Pelosi has proven to be an unstable hand at the helm of the Democratic ship, which anticipated smooth sailing to dominance over our body politic in all but the Supreme Court. And, the days ahead will certainly put total authoritarian dominance of even that body in play.

I’m always uncomfortable when one of the two parties has total dominance over all three branches of government. I’m especially concerned today. The “fairness doctrine” threat by Pelosi and her minions and lackeys…intending to bring back the halcyon days for liberals when they owned the “truth” in media lock, stock and barrel…and could infuse leftist propaganda without dissent virtually unfettered into the information stream. John Kerry in his inimitable dense manner, in essence blurted out to Charlie Gibson…”hey, you are supposed to be on OUR side”…removing the veil of pretense…that has all but been stripped bare in this election.

But, the weasels ripping flesh modus operandi of Soros and his thugs was most glaring and jarring…when turned against Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton. It became increasingly apparent and even more frightening to watch the spectacle…when used against a former Democratic nominee for vice-president, and a former Democratic first lady and candidate for first female Democrat running for the top of their ticket. Moral bankruptcy with an automatic stay provision on ethics ruled the day.

If we are to self-govern this land of ours, through representative government…we cannot do this with fauxtography, forged documents, photoshopped caricatures, libraries hiding evidence, …essentially a gang raped information stream. We can’t…it’s not open to serious or rational debate. The conspiracy of silence must be broken. Our ability to get facts upon which we make decisions about how we govern this land of ours…is a public trust.

Public institutions and certainly universities and public libraries are not free to disseminate information and evidence upon a political whim. That’s a violation of a public trust adherence to which should be sacrosanct.

Moreover, the dominant public information gathering places, television news, major metropolitan newspapers, radio, wire services, magazines, Hollywood, …which shape our views based upon the reliability of facts being separated from opinion…and more importantly, facts being separated from intentionally misleading screeds of a particular political persuasion…is a quasi public trust.

These trusts have been violated. In a manner and with a depth that is dangerous and at times, treasonous to our own country.

I have no idea about the eventual answers related to Sen. Obama’s lingering murky and shadowy past. I have no idea where he was born, or if that is a legitimate issue of discussion. It may not be.

I have no idea what influence Frank Marshall Davis had upon him, his radical professors at college, his attachment to Ayers, Dorhn, Klonsky, Wright, Pfleger, Sam Graham-Felsen, Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, Cynthia Miller, Jennifer Mason, Soros, Odinga, Massoud, Rezco, Rashid Khalidi, Ali Abunimah, Robert Malley, …all I do know is…there are enough smoldering embers of extremist radicalism touching his campfire …that no journalist of modest integrity could ignore with the resolve and steadfast silence that the DPM has shown en masse.

The DPM has shown a face of passive acquiescence toward the thuggery of shouting down principled dissent, but as character shallow as that is, it is there conspiracy of silence and refusal to engage in even asking the questions that has blackened their names for eternal condemnation. They won’t even ask the questions. They won’t work for the truth…they are so owned by the “message”.

Rev. Wright asked God to damn America. By way of conspiracy of silence by our 4th Estate and complicity in corrupting the process by which we govern, he may have gotten his wish.

Speaking of influences on Obama, I havent verified this, but did his white liberal grandfather SEND him to ‘Frank’ to learn about being Black? If so, that tells us more about the grandfather’s attitudes and what Obama may have aborbed from the grandparents, since they raised him from age 6-10 and sent him to college.

For that matter, his mother probably got her attitudes from those same grandparents (her parents).

I have been coming here and reading the comments since Hillary suspended her campaign and I learned about Pumas on Fox. Let me say I have not always voted Democratic. I did vote for Hillary in the Primaries because I thought she was the best candidate . I voted for Bill Clinton in the 90′s. But I have voted Republican before. I think the work you guys are doing is great. I do not think the Democratic Party is what it used to be. I think It is now run by people like George Soros and way too far left wing radicals. I will be voting for McCain/Palin. I will not support Obama. I do not trust his judgement. I also think if Obama loses, the democratic leaders will be forced to re-examine the way they are selecting their nominee’s. I do not agree with the Caucaus’s. I think Hillary was cheated out of the nomination by the leaders of the party and by the far left radicals that used voter intimidation at these cacauses. Any way , I thougth it was time I spoke out and gave all of you some encouragement. Keep up the good work , you never know how many people are reading but not posting. I know I’m one of them.

#387 maxgrader on 10.04.08 at 9:16 pm

So the economy going south has boosted Obama into the lead, eh. Oh yeah? Well, It’s good to know that he can’t change peoples’ minds on his own. The only minds he needs to win are the gullable, uneducated ones. Unfortunately they are allowed to vote too.

So Palin went on the attack today regarding Obama’s ties to terrorists and corruption. Good. More to come regarding his character and unknown past. It’s about time the Republicans did this. I noticed Hillary Clinton got better in her race after she stopped playing nice and went on the attack a little.

Hey, if the gullable can be persuaded to think Obama and the Democrats are the good guys in this banking crisis and the anemic economy is McCain’s fault then they can also be turned around in their thinking about Obama’s character.

McCain and Palin should just bring it on and keep it up constantly, vigorously. McCain should not ever let Obama and the media put a lid on this grand approach with their dismisiveness and criticism to what probably is a lot of suppressed truth. Get Obama to defend himself constantly and keep the subject off the economy.

It feels good to see McCain and Palin finally taking off the gloves. I’ll bet that’s exactly what Sarah has wanted from the beginning. But McCain probably thought nice guys can finish first too.

Way to lead Sarah! We’ll win this election yet.

#388 KarenWI on 10.04.08 at 9:16 pm

NewOrleansPuma.. you don’t know about the “Do Not Call” law? There is a national Do No Call list. Anyone who is on that list you can’t call unless you are a political party, or non-profit organization, or risk getting a $10,000 (I believe that was the number) fine per number called. Believe me, I know all about that law! It took away 99.99999% of my income with my insurance business. I no longer could call 7/8 of the people in Wisconsin or risk a huge fine and losing my insurance license to boot.

372 NewOrleansPuma This afternoon, Landi was asking in the blog for suggestions of what to say on calls. That just popped into my head and I told him/her and he/she thought it was funny, too. So, I fixed something to eat and then layed down awhile. When I awoke, I thought to myself, “what the hell, give it a try, some people will go for anything”. So I did, and on the 4th try, a guy agreed to do it.

Hi Pumas, I feel compelled to share this email I received from a neighbor just a short time ago. This may be a repeat of information you all have seen but I want you all to know that if my neighbors are questioning Barack Obama, then why isn’t the entire country!

*********************************************

Date: Saturday, October 4, 2008, 8:15 PM

This frightens me.

All,
Forwarded from a short string of reliable “source friends”. At a minimum, these are interesting questions that all should be attempting to answer — both the media types and voters.
Bill

**************

This letter is from a friend of ours who we believe wrote this with great concern. Both Jan and I think it is important to send this on so anyone that is open to ideas and wants what is best for our country can have good information to use when making up their mind regarding who to vote for. This is not a political slant, but a REAL person doing research on an individual who will be in charge of our country. Just read it and make your own decisions. G & J

To All My Friends, this is every important, please take the time to read it.

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider.

About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than.

I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with.

About six months ago, I started thinking ‘where did the money come from for Obama’.

I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama’s life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies.

‘Barry’ (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan.

During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family.

My question – Where did he get the money for this trip?

Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college.

When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York.

It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack -not Barry.

Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! to say the least. Here did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe.

After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year.

Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’.

About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans?

After Law school, he went back to Chicago.

Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland.

Guess what? They represented ‘Rezar’ which Rezko’s firm.

Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago.

In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ‘seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race.

In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price).

With ALL those Student Loans – Where did he get the money for the property?

On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price.

The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President.

Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was ‘sacked’ after the press found out he was having regular contacts with ‘Hamas’, which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran.

This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will ‘Take care of things’.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those ‘small’ Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos.

Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, ‘he make a mistake’. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it – Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times – Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times – September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question – If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven’t all of our ‘intelligent’ members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear – ‘Beware of the enemy from within’!!!

I know someone posted the link but some people don’t open every link but I wanted to illustrate that now is the time to hit below the belt. Forget the issues of economy and the bailout – it is already in Obama’s favor. We need to go for the distrust of Obama. We need to do some dirty work and bring up dirty laundry.

Palin hits Obama for ‘terrorist’ connection

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama’s political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating “with terrorists who targeted their own country.”

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin lashed out at Sen. Barack Obama’s ties to controversial figure William Ayers.

Palin’s attack delivered on the McCain campaign’s announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

“We see America as the greatest force for good in this world,” Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, “Our opponent though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama’s Chicago, Illinois, home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground, which was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama’s 1995 campaign for a state Senate seat.

Palin cited an article in Saturday’s New York Times about Obama’s relationship with Ayers, now 63. But that article concluded that “the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called ‘somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.’ ”

Several other publications, including the Washington Post, Time magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times, The New Yorker and The New Republic, have debunked the idea that Obama and Ayers had a close relationship. Watch CNN’s Truth Squad examine Palin claims »

Riot and bomb conspiracy charges against Ayers were dropped in 1974, and he is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Don’t Miss
Palin disagrees with McCain’s Michigan decision
Palin calls Obama comment ‘reckless’
Election Center 2008
Obama campaign spokesman Hari Sevugan called Palin’s comments “offensive” and “not surprising given the McCain campaign’s statement this morning that they would be launching Swift Boat-like attacks in hopes of deflecting attention from the nation’s economic ills.”

With Obama rising in polls while the country struggles in the grip of a financial crisis, Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign decided to shift attention away from the troubled economy and onto issues of his opponent’s character, judgment and personal associations, the Washington Post reported.

“We’re going to get a little tougher,” a senior Republican operative said, requesting anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss strategy. “We’ve got to question this guy’s associations. Very soon. There’s no question that we have to change the subject here.”

McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers told CNN, “We are coming up on 30 days until the election, and there are a lot of unanswered questions about Sen. Obama’s judgment.

“The Obama campaign has been calling Sen. McCain a liar and distorting his record on immigration, stem cells, health care. We’re going to fight back,” he said.

The Obama camp said the tactic wouldn’t work.

“What’s clear is that John McCain and Sarah Palin would rather spend their time tearing down Barack Obama than laying out a plan to build up our economy,” Sevugan said.

Obama and Ayers met at meeting for a school reform project in 1995 and again later that year. Then, Ayers hosted an event where then-Illinois state Sen. Alice Palmer, who planned to run for Congress, introduced the young community organizer as her chosen successor, campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said. Both men also served on a charitable board together, he said.

Labolt also said the two have not spoken by phone or exchanged e-mail messages since Obama came to the U.S. Senate in 2005 and last met more than a year ago when they encountered each other on the street in their Hyde Park neighborhood.

Obama and McCain will meet for their second debate Tuesday night and will take questions directly from voters in a town hall-style format

Gallup Poll Bias – How they do it

I never did hear back from Gallup Poll on the relative number of Dems and Republicans they are polling. I did an analysis about a week ago on the Gallup Poll that was very disturbing. I wrote up the method and Carical Carry has the spreadsheet.

Essentially, the poll numbers are being biased by the relative number of Democrats and Republicans in the poll.

Obama’s numbers are random with respect to the ratio of D/R polled, but McCains correlate. I have to use weekly aggregates because they do not give the party breakdown by day. The next weekly aggregate will come out Monday or Tuesday. Sept 22-28 they had a D/R of 1.17 (approximately 17% more Democrats than Republicans). I think this week it has been more like 20-30% more Democrats than Republicans.

Pollsters may not be doing it intentionally, but they are dishonest about the validity of their polls when such a correlation exists.

One way to do this is by manipulating information systems so that the phone contact information for Democrats is better than the Republicans.

#437 turndownobama on 10.04.08 at 9:44 pm

When the FACTS are dirty, imo it’s okay to use them. We don’t need to use any untrue charges — there are so many true ones. :-)

Even just what’s in Obama’s books and major profile articles and his own statements has plenty damning stuff; see ironmyvote.com/#obamabackground

While looking for picture of Ayers and Obama I found the following that I believe some might find interesting.

Ticket Special Report: Obama and Rezko, the early years

The trial of Antoin “Tony” Rezko, one-time patron to Sen. Barack Obama and Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, has turned lurid.

Under cross-examination by Rezko attorney Joseph Duffy, star prosecution witness Stuart Levine, a Chicago-area lawyer, is admitting to conspiracy, extortion, bribery, fraud and other bad acts while he “served” at the Illinois public school teachers pension fund board.

At Duffy’s urging, Levine is detailing 30 years of drug Syrian-born Tony Rezko big-time Illinois political fundraiser and one-time confidante of both Senator Barack Obama and Gov Rod Blagojevich is now on federal trial in Chicago where the inner workings of Chicago’s political system are unfoldingusage including sordid day-long binges with other men at a Chicago inn called the Purple Hotel. Rezko’s attorney Duffy is wondering whether all that cocaine, crystal meth and other drug use has perhaps fogged Levine’s memory.

That aside, much of the trial’s focus is on money — much of it given in the form of campaign money in the careers of Obama and Blagojevich.

It’s an unfolding, seemingly local political story that’s fascinating in its revealing details about the subterranean world of business, financial and family connections in Illinois and Chicago politics that helped take a virtually unknown black Chicago attorney, nurtured him politically and financially and turned him into….

the polished candidate who today thrills crowds of thousands across the country with his eloquence.

#443 NorthernVirginiaBob on 10.04.08 at 9:49 pm

For those who are depressed because of Obama’s lead in the National polls – don’t be.

McCain can win by keeping the states that Bush won in 2004, except for Iowa and New Mexico. McCain would then have 274 electoral votes, only 270 are needed. McCain has advantages in many of the other swing states that Bush won in 2004, and probably will win all of them, one by one. The swing states of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania that Kerry won in 2004 are gravy, they would result in 41 extra electoral votes for McCain.

But don’t be depressed – you can take action, action that can help defeat Obama. These actions can include making phone calls to the swing states that are being contested (NV, CO, OH, VA, NC, FL, MO, IN, MN, WI, PA and perhaps MI). You can make phone calls from home by going to http://www.JohnMcCain.com/PhoneBank.

I, a Democrat turned Independent who was never before politically active as an adult, made phone calls today from a McCain campaign office. Making phone calls was easy, you can do it too, if you want to. Just a suggestion.

I can not find a video, but I do have the quote in an article about Obama:

When the 2000 census revealed dramatic growth in Chicago’s Hispanic and Asian populations alongside a decline in the number of African Americans, the Illinois black caucus was alarmed at the prospect that the number of blacks in the Illinois General Assembly might decline. At that point, Obama stepped to the forefront of the effort to preserve as many black seats as possible. The Defender quotes Obama as saying that, “while everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.” As in the casino dispute, Obama stressed black unity, pushing a plan that would modestly increase the white, Hispanic, and Asian population in what would continue to be the same number of safe black districts. As Obama put it: “An incumbent African-American legislator with a 90 percent district may feel good about his reelection chances, but we as a community would probably be better off if we had two African-American legislators with 60 percent each.”

i have always felt that obama as well as some other black politicians only come around every election season and then mysteriously disappear until the next election rolls around …
it really pisses me off to see hispanics and asian voters being used as dupes for every two bit black politician that come a round..
hispanics and asians better wake up and smell the coffee take care of some of their interests instead of of prioritizing blacks just because they hyperagressive, intimidating and scream the loudest..

I can’t remember what conection there is between Gallup and Obama but it is close and is why he was questioned after NH his polls and Rausmann not sure of spelling but I know fox and Msnbc were none to happy with the polls after NH. I believe they are omitting how well John is doing in red states stating half truths and we should be fighting like hell just like during the primary’s when they were saying he had tied it up in PA nothing but a lie they are using the same playbook lets not fall for it .And as bad as Bush has been I am Happy that John is holding his own .

It automatically saves all copied items in Short Term storage (which can be set to persist as long as you want). It also has Long Term (permanent storage) for items you never want to expire. Plus lots more handy features. Especially Search, which allows you to scan some or all of the items saved for half-forgotten stuff you want to use again.

I’ve been using it for years, and wouldn’t ever be without it now.

Let’s not forget the dirty tactics Obama used in South dakota. The AP and everyone ran those false stories about Hillary conceding the race on election day to try and dampen the turnout. We cannot let him do that same thing by declaring the race is all ready over. He’s not that far ahead of the polls, and we’ve seen these polls flip before. Here in Virginia they have Gov. Kaine approving convicted felons’s petitions to have their rights restored to try and skewer this election to Obama and he’s signing those petitions right and left. This is wrong. We have to keep our optimism and we have to keep on trucking. I truly believe there are more of us that are in the silent majority than we know. Keep the faith!

I hope that McCain has the 9 lives of a cat… he’s already used up some of them during the primaries when he was given up for dead, during the DNC convention before Palin was announced, and prior to the VP debate…. he should still have some lives left hopefully. Seriously, I have faith that he knows what he is doing… I just hope with all my heart that he isn’t waiting too long to pull out the big guns…. he must not wait until the conrete is already hardened before trying to dislodge people from BO….

The race will be very close, but things are not as clear cut as the BO campaign and MSM would like you to think. If 5-6% of the population could change their minds from McCain to BO in a week’s time I suppose that it could also swing the other way between now and early November.

I’m kind of bad about watching debates. I’m not convinced they matter as much as people think. I mean, how many debates did George W. Bush win and he still won the elections. I’m paying closer attention to the economic news. If things start to settle down in the financial markets the stats will probably change. People were freaked out by all the horrible economic news last week.

Our country is defunct because we have forgotten the truth!
Reject all else because all else is lies.

When you go in to a McCain office, ask for “another Democrat for McCain/Pain” signs and bumper stickers. They have them.

If you are up for fun, simply announce to them that you are a PUMA.

I did, and the whole room became instantly silent. Women came over to shake my hand, and one said.”We have heard of you flks, but we weren’t sure you were real.”

I assured them we were, and got two Dem for McCain stickers, just in case one disappears.
