Ario,

What makes me so bloody angry right now, the American people will put these arseholes back in office once they run for re-election; it’s a vicious cycle of abuse; abuser and the abused enable each other, sickening huh? The people can’t see the wood for the trees. It would have been nice if the relationship of the people and their elected officials is a symbiotic relationship, it isn’t. Politicians get rich, Six Pack Joe get screwed in the relationship and expected to shell out more and sacrifice more.

Here’s a quick get rich scheme, if you want to make a fortune without breaking a sweat, ENTER POLITICS. Look at Clair Mckaskill(sp), from the time she was elected in the senate her fortune increased by 27%, it makes you wonder how did she amass that increase in a short span of time? You can’t increase your fortune at such high rate of speed when you’re eking out a living not unless you win a lottery jackpot; but you have a higher probability getting hit by lightning than winning in lottery. Take a look at NObama, he became an instant millionaire as soon as he became a US Senator, he even give up his license to practice law the same thing with his wife (Michelle).

The bill voted today in Congress has a LOT of earmark/pork at the expense of every hardworking Americans. This is what is making me bloody livid with anger, there’s tax cut for importation; their should be an INCREASE of TAXES for imported goods not reducing it! When you increase taxes for importation, it will force companies to invest in US market, therefore putting Americans to work, when you decrease tax for importation, that increases UNEMPLOYMENT in this county. Now they cut taxes for imports and keep corporate tax at 35% not including state tax that hovers around 12%.

If these people in Congress are smart or take Economics 101, they’d know if you cut corporate tax and increase taxes for importation = JOBS for US workers. USA, don’t have to import raw materials for manufacturing, we have EVERYTHING we need to manufacture ANY goods we want in this country. For the life of me I do NOT understand why people in Congress are acting like a bunch of MORONS!

Darn thread changes!!! I just posted this on the tail end downstairs:

I suppose, from a positive perspective, all this should help PUMA to narrow the focus of our purpose. If we think about it for a moment, we can easily see how the creation and evolution of PUMA, thus far, is nothing short of miraculous. Truly.
No one can really see the future. But this may be the birth of a new party. From these beginnings, we may grow into the movement which defeats the threat Obama and his minion pose, and restores America to it’s original purpose but on a grander scale.
I think it’s time to rally our members, define and refine our purpose and remember that’ we may have lost one or two battles, but the war is far from over.
Days ahead may be dark and difficult for many, but we will be the ones the weaker turn to, and lean on.
Imagine how bleak things would seem to be were it not for the hope of PUMA. We ARE the CHANGE no one expected.

I’ll give you a very good example of bad economics practice by our government, OUR STEEL INDUSTRY. I think the biggest plant we have for Steel in USA is in Allentown, PA. Our commerce department made a decision it is cheaper for USA to import steel from countries like Japan, China or Brazil than make our own. The decision of our commerce department put thousands of Americans out of work in steel industry. What this foreign countries had done is to KILL our OWN steel industry and they’ve succeeded in doing that. Now, we are DEPENDENT on imported goods, USA do NOT manufacture anymore, we’ve become a CONSUMER nation instead of producer. Even simple bath towels now are Made in China. I used to be able to buy bath towel Made in USA by Burlington especially socks, not anymore! And that is making me angry, I am a big SUPPORTER of MADE IN USA products. I am willing a high price for the goods I buy if they’re MADE IN USA, I knew my money goes back to US market, putting my fellow Americans to work.

#21 mountainsong on 10.03.08 at 2:10 pm

They cannot destroy our economy, but we CAN destroy them. USA is a SELF CONTAINED nation. In fact since the economic crash of the 80′s Japan up to now hasn’t recovered. Bottom line is this, the US dollar is the most stable currency in the world. I was in trading for a number of years, every L/C must be converted to US dollars, from deutchmark to US dollar due to its stability.

In fact if you’ve paid attention to currency trading NIKKEI, FTSE, DAX and etc, USA is gaining strength against all currencies. In fact people with money right now are buying more US dollars. The stability of the US dollar in the world market is well tested.

#41 TexasTigress on 10.03.08 at 2:24 pm

I agree with Asian about bringing back production to our country.
Look at the problems in the food industry since China took over….Poison in baby formula and pet foods and candy and….54000 babies sick including my grandaughter. Thats what the free trade bill did for us.
How can it be less costly to ship from overseas then be made right here, another lie. Is there anything left in America that we made. IMHO

#37 ElyLosAngeles Geez, how much money does this woman owe? I’m almost sorry we sent her money over the July 4th weekend. I still can’t believe her numbers as I know for a fact every pro-Clinton website was involved. We even sent $5.44 to McCain. It is obvious she blew the $100 million she originally had thinking she had already won. If she ever runs again, I doubt I will give her any money and will have to think hard about supporting her as I’m sick of the Clintons shoving BO down our throats. They, along with Joe Biden, called him unfit for office. Now all of a sudden, he’s qualifed?

From Mick’s #310 Downstairs (EXCELLENT POST, CALLS NOBAMA’s SELECTION OF THE GAFFEMASTER INTO QUESTION)

Mick — Good get. I e-mailed to all media contacts.

“MOTHER OF ALL GAFFES”

Rick Moran of Right Wing Nut House has followed the wars in Lebanon more closely than most bloggers, and Joe Biden’s assertion that the US and France “kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon” has him gasping for breath. Calling it “completely insane”, Rick deconstructs the rest of the answer on this question to seriously challenge whatever credentials Biden claims on foreign policy.

the word is not “will be”, the word is “it is”. We had a trade war with Japan in the 90′s you seem to forget that during Clinton Administration. I think some people will look for anything to not have to give Palin the credit she deserves, last nite Andrea Mitchell says after the debate it’s too bad that everyone is talking about McCain pulling out of Michigan I think that is overshadowing it.Then on my local news channel that is what they are going to be talking about McCain pulling out and how upset his supporters there are.

Thursday’s highly anticipated face-off between Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Delaware senator Joe Biden may be the most-watched debate in 16 years.

Last night’s event totaled a 45.0 overnight meter-market household rating, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That’s 42% higher than Friday’s presidential debate between top-of-the-ticket contenders John McCain and Barack Obama, which scored a collective 31.6 rating among broadcast and cable networks.

That is my wish and I want it fulfilled. In fact the westerners don’t know China will soon have FAMINE. Due to heavy industrialization, China is losing their farmlands, there’s shortage of food supply in China with population over 1 billion. Part of their farmlands is being eaten by the desert, that is the biggest problem of China right now. The number of UNEMPLOYED chinese is BIGGER than the US population, over 300 million Chinese are UNEMPLOYED.

Charles Krauthammer on Fox News says that if this bill does have the desired affect, (calm the markets), then McCain’s numbers will come back up. IF not we are screwed! The last comment is from me.

He also said that the bump for Obama the last 2 weeks has been ONLY due to this Bailout Bill crap!

It was the US that rebuild Japan after WW2, it was General Douglas McArthur who was assigned in Japan to rebuild it. My best friend is living in Japan in Fukouka, Japan have not recovered since it crashed in the 80′s, in fact a lot of business are closing their door.

By the way, does anyone have that jerk, Bob Beckel’s 3 mail addy as I want to tell him off. He said Sarah gave one of the worst performances he’s ever seen. Who in the hell made him the one to say how well she did. He’s a fat, disgusting pig.

I hate the bailout/rescue…but HONESTLY people the polls show that Hussy is using it to win….

and 700 billion is NOTHING compared to what we will lose–in addition to principle and the foundation of this country a lil’ ole thing called democracy–if Bullshit wins….

The last two weeks have been horrible for PUMA and McCain because the Dems have been able to, with the help of MSM, spin this to frantic Americans and they actually think the DEMS will help them (fools that they are)…

Thus, at this point we need to FIGHT for the poll numbers and fight for America we have about 30 days left before fighting will be worthless….if Bo is able to steal POTUS this year he will be getting America’s future to boot…

FIGHT for what is right….look at big picture. GEt rid of BO, get third party, KICK ASS….

NO MORE HUSSEIN FOR PRESIDENT!!

Ending the drama–for the moment–is a victory for puma in a weird way. And for the record I am 100000000 million percent against it BUT FOR the fact that the Dems were spinning it to frantic Americans to his benefit.

Now, let’s get out there and change these poll numbers and fight for the America we believe in—GO PUMAS….STOP HUSSIEN!!!

Dear Federal Election Committee,

What is being done in terms of an investigation that Andy Martin asked of the Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Chicago U. S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and the Chicago FBI yesterday? He is asking for a criminal investigation into Senator Barack Obama’s nearly quarter billion dollar hoard of clandestine campaign cash. If the cash hoard is legal, we have a right to know. If the cash is tainted or even criminal, we also have a right to know, before the election, not afterwards. The American People should not have a ‘pig in a poke’ to vote for on November 4th.
A Newsmax review of the Obama campaign finance filings found that the FEC had asked for the redesignation or refund of 53,828 donations, totaling just under $30 million.

But none involves the donors who never appear in the Obama campaign reports, which the [Center for Responsive Politics] estimates at nearly half the $426.8 million the Obama campaign has raised to date.

The analyst, who declines to be identified for fear of retribution, says that on four different occasions in the past three months, he sought to open formal investigations into the Obama campaign’s fundraising techniques, but those investigations have been discouraged….

“Without formal approval, I can’t get the resources I need, manpower, that kind of thing. This is a huge undertaking.” And the analyst says that he believes that campaign finance violations have occurred…

Why are the FEC, the DOJ, and FBI Covering for the Obama Campaign?
They have a duty to the tax-payers to investigate NOW.

I told her about Acorn, a bunch of stuff, still don’t think I convinced. her. Why have they stopped talking about his qualifications? He is now qualified because he gave a speech in Germany? And qualified, as Hillary put it, you gave a speech on the war but never voted. The man is a fraud. And the MSM is protecting him big time, he is a walking liar and a crook. Are we the only ones who can see what’s going on? Is everyone else nuts? I’ll answer that myself, YES!

Lady–yes, Americans have lost their fucking minds.

BO is a criminal do nothing. He is lazy, sub-standard, made it this far because of Affirmative Action and using race to play the pity party to the benefit of his pocket and all of his friend’s pockets (Rezko, Wright, Pflegger, his wife’s, etc., etc.). He has NEVER worked a day in his life and after graduating from law school he set himself up in a Jesse Jackson-cum-complainer position which lead directly into a political job which means ONCE AGAIN he has never worked a day in his life.

As a politician, he has DONE NOTHING for his constituents except leave them far worse and much poorer than prior to his arrival and his present voting shows he has nothing to say and wants to do nothing other than line his pockets. After 47 years his resume is as empty and as crooked as one might expect from a lying sack of shit….

He has no decent friends, he belongs to a racist hateful anti-American church, he has a track history that might cut if for a third rate felon and/or black politician (and you can quote me on this), and his take on the typical white person is such that ANY white person that votes for him is TRULY fucked in the head.

I think that America is getting too dumb to be strong anymore. This man is a crook and a fool, but compared to 50% of Americans he is one smart cookie. This speaks volumes about this country….

The ONLY people who should vote for BO are those who want America to fail big time. Think about it people…

GOGANDOLF’S REQUEST:

107 Gogandalf Morning Pumas – same subject again for me – polls that no one believes in – have gone into each individual States polls via newspapers as well as Rasmussen for the following:

Nationally 51-BO – 44 MC

Kentucky – 52-42 McCain – both women and men go for Mc
Nebraska 56-37 McCain – both women and men for him

now here is my question following key states are dropping and women are changing over to BO for some reason how can we reach these women to change their opinions – I have flyers in Spanish for the Hispanics – but what can we do to change the tide – even the comments written on blogs indicate the same as the polls – I know one voice does not a President make – but we can not bury our heads in the sand until election day —

Montana – McCain 52-44 – BUT women give BO 5% higher vote over McCain
North Carolina – BO – 50-47 – 12% women BO over Mc
New Mexico – 49-44 – 17% Hispanic and 10% women BO over McCain

There is a trend that has to stop – any suggestions on what I can do OTHER than not look at the polls -
Thanks

Today, I’m more confused than I was yesterday..I have never been a political junkie, until this election.
1. I don’t get why the most and only candidate was defeated by the MSM over an “empty suit” .
2. I don’t understand why the MSM is running this entire election and getting away with it.
3. I can’t for the life of me understand this ridiculous bailout..that Bush (Rep.) wants us to pay for ,and the only ones against this are Republicans!!! WTF?
4. I can’t understand when on Monday it was a $700 billion bailout, and now today, it’s a $850 billion bailout and it passed!!!
Please, someone with more understanding of economics explain it in a way I can understand.
Some days, I feel as if I really did fall down the rabbit hole!! I’m listening to Fox for my news, I have become an avid listener of Lou Dobbs, and I despise the Democratic Party that I have been associated with
over 35 years!!

Don’t lose heart.

I have three friends who are classic Limousine Liberals that went to a NObama fundraiser in Danbury, CT last Saturday night — caught up with them yesterday and I sarcastically asked them what I missed (since they know I am rabidly anti-O) and was delighted to hear that they were put off by an extremely hard-sell that they received at the cocktail party. Turned them completely off.

Obama’s antics are worse and he is less qualified. More importnat, there is no chance of McKinney getting the White House!

Two votes for McKinney equal one vote for McCain. If my state is not a close contest, I may vote for McKinney just to send the message that I’m a liberal rejecting Obama.

McCain needs to come out and start punching. Sarah did her job last night, but McCain has to do his part also. I think Sarah and Todd can turn around some votes for the McCain camp.

Both Sarah and McCain need to find another adjective to describe McCain. “Maverick” is getting old.

Now Obama is complimenting Bill Clinton for what he did during the 1990s. What a liar!

I hope the Republicans registered more voters and have more people voting early.

the market went down because the bailout is not going to work because the market is way too high still. it needs to go lower.

http://www.the-privateer.com/chart/dow-long.html

shows the djia just breaking the long term up trend and the down trend just beginning. this could be an incredible drop. omg this chart looks super scary.

If the market is going to drop there is NOTHING that can be done to stop it. the bail out will be a huge waste of money and only cause a bigger drop. It probably is time to seriously short the market. but going short will only cause huge losses. going long will probably cause huge losses also. From the chart there is no support. it looks like it fell off an airplane and will come down for a long time.

Batten down the hatches. This has just begun.

Anybody listening to Hannity on radio now? Wow… he’s having a huge celebration after Palin’s big triumph last night! I listened to a couple minutes of Rush… and was a bit disappointed to hear him say that although he knows Palin won last night, he didn’t think it would impact the election or polls much if at all. Again, I’m hoping that Murphy is RIGHT and Rush is WRONG… ! Murphy, I’m watching for that 8 point bounce UP!

#161 kids1627 on 10.03.08 at 3:31 pm

Good it will be really hard for him to get people to the polls if they don’t vote early our early voting is also slow went to pick my Grandson up from school and two guys were putting up a big McCain/Palin yard sign mine is little but I am going to find out where you can get a huge one like thier’s

Please everyone email McCain if you got a second and ask them to please not totally pull out of michigan , and if it’s true about Palin and her husband, tell him to have her go. That is all my local news channel is talking about coming up how McCain supporters in Mich are shocked he is pulling out. Michigan is my next door neighbor state so I am sure the tv camera crews went there and spoke to voters and officials.

McCain/Palin’s numbers would improve if stories like this got out:
Of all the characteristics of a successful politician, none is more essential than bare-faced cheek. Never has this been more evident than in the past fortnight, as senior Democrat members of the US legislature have sought to lay all the blame for the country’s financial crisis on the executive arm of Government and Wall Street.

http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/dominic-lawson/dominic-lawson-democrat-fingerprints-are-all-over-the-financial-crisis-949653.html

Also, from Hillbuzz:
SoetorObama’s people have promised the full weight of the DNC on behalf of removing all traces of the Clinton’s Democratic Party should he win.
If this is true, we really need to take him down next month.

#170 KarenWI on 10.03.08 at 3:38 pm

Hillary’s take on the debate…. said that McCain/Palin is the same kind of thing that got us in the problem we’re in today. HEY! Didn’t she know that McCain was the one who TRIED to stop this from happening a few years ago, and that it didn’t go through? I don’t know how she voted on that… but IF she voted with the rest of the dems on it, she voted against it and didn’t see the problem coming on like McCain did. I don’t know that for sure. I just know McCain saw it coming and tried to stop it….. and now Hillary is saying the dem “talking points” about how it’s “Bush-McCain’s fault”… GRrrrrrrr…

#179 catsrlove on 10.03.08 at 3:51 pm

I just can’t stop cheering for Sarah Palin. What a breath
of fresh air. She is so people driven. I loved it when she said that “Joe” and the moderator wanted her to answer another question, but she wanted to talk to the American people..

I believe if McCain wins that Sarah will find the corruption in Congress, and she will do her best to clean it up..

I think the nobomas are afraid of her. My husband was at the store, and one of those “rags” they have at check out said, “Sarah’s secret lover”. How low these people will go to win.

I have stopped looking at any polls. They just upset me more. If the American people are foolish enough to vote for a man that is not qualified to be President, then they deserve what they get.

I am really afraid that this is a done deal. It looks and feels that way to me.

I wish John (at the next debate) would ask nobama about his ties to the terrorist Bill Ayers. Why did he stay at that racist church with it’s racist minister for 20 years?

Ask about the “sweetheart” deal that convicted developer Tony Rezko got for him, and the things that nobama did for him?

Ask about how nobama used his clout as a U. S. senator to save the corrupt Cook County political machine when reformers of both parties tried to challenge the entrenched political bosses??

The American people need to know these things. Please John get these questions in like Sarah did..

Don’t lose heart.

I have three friends who are classic Limousine Liberals.

They went to a NObama fundraiser in Danbury, CT last Saturday night — caught up with them yesterday and I sarcastically asked them what I missed (since they know I am rabidly anti-O) and was delighted to hear that they were put off by an extremely hard-sell that they received at the cocktail party. Turned them completely off.

There is a trend that has to stop – any suggestions on what I can do OTHER than not look at the polls -
Thanks

Why is it that we continue to elect millionaires to represent the interests of the so called middle class?
Why is it that if a Congressman or woman or Senator goes to Congress not a milliaonaire, they invariably leave there being one?
Why is it that millionaires continue to tell the middleclass what we need and how they will do what we need?
Why?

LadyHawkke, i’m in NYC. it was at the Metropolitan Republican Club in a swanky townhouse… very charming beautiful building. They charge $10 to cover the cost of food and drink. But it was an umbrella event for all the Repub parties here in the city. I am in contact with one called McCainManhattan. They’re a 1000 people in it, so i don’t think they have events in anyone’s home. But Yes, that would be cool!

I met a guy who considers himself a Democrat and was supporting Obama earlier, then decided Hillary was WAY SMARTER AND INFINITELY MORE QUALIFIED, then of course, we all know the rest of the story… but my point is, there was a mix of people and I really enjoyed myself. I read on the news that Obama raised 66 mil in August,

Today I received a letter from Obie and buddies asking for money and saying I could help the campaign by

I wrote across the donation sheet that I don’t support Socialists or Terrorists or Criminals, and then I stuffed the envelope with as much junk mail as I could get in it. Sly2t

Don’t lose heart. I have been very reassured by the following:

I have three friends who are classic Limousine Liberals.

They went to a NObama fundraiser in Danbury, CT last Saturday night — caught up with them yesterday and I sarcastically asked them what I missed (since they know I am rabidly anti-O) and was delighted to hear that they were put off by an extremely hard-sell that they received at the cocktail party. Turned them completely off.

Three less of them, three more of us!!!

I just want to add that if Meeks was McCain’s spiritual advisor, it would be daily headlines. If McCain had as many anti-Semitic friends/acquaintances as Obama does, that would be headines.

CNN ,circa 6-00p.m (GMT) announced that initial reaction to the Pelosi/Democratic Bailout Bill , by the voters had resulted in over 500 E-mails received by CNN, disapproving of the bailout of Wall street etc.
The majority of Republicans in congress rejected it and voted accordingly. Looking at the provisions within the bill, it is not for change as the Democratic party and Obama is pushing at his rallies. It has a full compliment of earmarks…strongly opposed by Senator McCain.

Good fortune, Shane, Ireland

Palin tax returns for 2006 and 2007 released
Oct 3 04:59 PM US/Eastern

Write a Comment
WASHINGTON (AP) – Republican John McCain’s campaign says Sarah and Todd Palin had a gross income of nearly $170,000 last year and paid nearly $25,000 in taxes.

The campaign also says the couple made nearly $130,000 and paid about $12,000 in taxes in 2006.

McCain’s campaign released the joint income tax return Friday for his vice presidential nominee and her husband.

The couple donated more than $8,000 to charity over two years.

Their income jump from 2006 to 2007 resulted from the salary increase when Sarah Palin became Alaska’s governor.

The McCain-Palin campaign had said the tax returns would be released Monday, but it suddenly put them out Friday afternoon—a time long used by government to reveal embarrassing news because few people watch TV or read newspapers Friday evening and Saturday.

#169 was also me with the comment from Hillbuzz that Obama is going to decimate Clinton Democrats.

I have this thought posted at several sites because I categorize is as urgent. Bruce, from one of those sites has added some additional ‘interesting’ perspective to my remark:

How can this woman even call herself a Democrat? These old guard Clinton loyalists and Democratic Leadership Council types don’t realize the Democratic party is ready for real change and most of it has changed.

The days of “Mavericks” like Bill Clinton (who caved on Welfare reform and many other progressive ideals) are over.

Either way, these people who do not really believe in Obama need to be kept out of high positions. Clinton and others have shown they’re not loyal to the Democratic party, I’m sure if they got in a high position they’d be happy to do real damage. I’ve had enough with this, these people are just giving people like you ammunition.

What They’re Saying About Governor Sarah Palin at Wash U. Debate

Luntz Focus Group Calls Palin The Winner: “I Think She Just Spoke To The People, The American People”

Luntz Focus Group Voter: “I think she just spoke to the people, the American people. She was direct.” (Luntz Focus Group On Fox News, 10/2/08)

Watch Luntz Focus Group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKrk_6QjcNw
“She Was Every Bit His Equal”

The New York Times’ David Brooks: “I thought she was every bit his equal. I thought she was fluid, confident, she struck her theme, just the regular old mom. But she handled the foreign policy issues. She did fine with Iraq. She did fine with Iran. She certainly hit energy often enough. I suspect Republicans are going to be quite pleased.” (David Brooks, PBS’ “Post-Debate Analysis,” 10/2/08)

Brooks: “She could do policy, she did quite well on the gubernatorial issues and did quite well on mentioning John McCain all the time, much more than Joe Biden who scarcely mentioned Barack Obama, she did quite well with that. I thought was just that style of me versus Washington. I thought it was quite effective for her in general. I suspect most people, there are a few more hallmark moments, Norman Rockwell moments but I suspect most people will really like that.” (David Brooks, PBS’ “Post-Debate Analysis,” 10/2/08)
“She’s Articulate, Quick, Detail-Oriented” With “Everyday American Appeal”

ABC’s Rick Klein: “[W]here has this Sarah Palin been? She’s articulate, quick, detail-oriented tonight.” (Rick Klein, “Live Debate” Blog, blogs.abcnews.com, 10/2/08)

Klein: “9:03 pm CT: ‘It’s so obvious that I’m a Washington outsider,’ Palin says. Again, better done than said, but undeniable. This line of attack, driving a wedge between Biden and Obama, is legit, though it can seem forced at times.” (Rick Klein, “Live Debate,” ABC News’ “Live Debate” Blog, blogs.abcnews.com, 10/2/08)
CNN’s Bill Schneider: “Palin is going after Biden over his comments that the wealthy should pay more taxes as a patriotic move. The Alaska governor has come to this debate fully armed.” (Bill Schneider, “Schneider: Attack, Counter Attack,” CNN’s “Political Ticker” Blog, http://www.cnn.com, 10/2/08)

The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza: “Palin to Biden: ‘Can I call you Joe?’ GENIUS.” (Chris Cillizza, “Twittering The Showdown In St. Louis,” The Washington Post’s “The Fix” Blog, Washington Post Fix Blog, 10/2/08)

Cillizza: “Palin starts with a ‘kids soccer game’ story in regards the economy. Folksy — playing to her strengths.” (Chris Cillizza, “Twittering The Showdown In St. Louis,” Washington Post Fix Blog, 10/2/08)
Cillizza: “State of Alaska…taking on oil companies…this is good ground for her. The more she talks about reform, the better.” (Chris Cillizza, “Twittering The Showdown In St. Louis,” Washington Post Fix Blog, 10/2/08)
MSNBC’s Carrie Dann: “Here’s that folksy, everyday American appeal right out of the gate with Palin’s first answer. She says you can hear about the consequences of the tough economy just by asking parents at a hockey game on a Saturday afternoon … ‘You’re going to hear some fear’ about ‘the few investments some of us might have,’ she says.” (Carrie Dann, “The Palin McCain’s Been Talking About,” MSNBC’s “First Read” Blog, firstread.msnbc.msn.com, 10/2/08)

MSNBC’s Domenico Montanaro: “Good start on the first question from Palin. She was crisp and went right to those … soccer moms, if you will. She brought the economy to the middle class and said the barometer is how parents on the sidelines feel. There are likely a lot of nodding heads in some living rooms at home.” (Domenico Montanaro, “Palin, Off To Good Start,” MSNBC’s “First Read” Blog, firstread.msnbc.com, 10/2/08)

NBC’s Matthew Berger: “Those who have seen Palin debate in Alaska say she is very efficient, and you’re seeing that now. She’s taking Biden on directly, speaking at him and then turning to the camera to make her points.” (Carrie Dann, “Palin’s Efficiency,” MSNBC’s “First Read” Blog, firstread.msnbc.com, 10/2/08)

The New York Times’ Katharine Q. Seelye: “Ms. Palin makes a grab to be more pro-Israel than Mr. Biden, which seems to tick him off.” (Katharine Q. Seelye, “A Tense Moment,” The New York Times, 10/2/08)

The Atlantic’s Ambinder: “Palin is adept at keeping Biden on the offensive.” (Marc Ambinder, “The Debate: Liveblogging I,” The Atlantic’s “Marc Ambinder” Blog, marcambinder.theatlantic.com, 10/2/08)

Commentary’s Linda Chavez: “Palin is easier to listen to than Biden. First answer was, if not a home run, at least a double.” (Linda Chavez, “VP Mom,” Commentary’s “Contentions” Blog, http://www.commentarymagazine.com, 10/2/08)

Commentary’s Eric Trager: “Palin reminds Biden that he has often differed with Barack Obama on the Iraq war, and offers her respect for Biden’s previous positions. ‘I don’t know how you can defend his positions now.’ Brilliant.” (Eric Trager, “Her Best Moment Yet,” Commentary’s “Contentions” Blog, http://www.commentarymagazine.com, 10/2/08)

Trager: “She calls Biden out on voting for the war before he was against it. Biden has only himself to blame for setting Palin up with a meek explanation of why he authorized the war without (supposedly) supporting it. This is the knockout punch of the night thus far.” (Eric Trager, “I’m Such A Washington Outsider,” Commentary’s “Contentions” Blog, http://www.commentarymagazine.com, 10/2/08)
The Politico’s Jonathan Martin: “She knows all the wedges between Biden and Obama, including their votes on troop funding, and even drops in a reference to that Jon Stewart interview where the Delaware senator said he’d be honored to run with his colleague from Arizona.” (Jonathan Martin, “Palin Got Good Oppo Brief,” The Politico’s “Jonathan Martin” Blog, http://www.politico.com, 10/2/08)

Townhall’s Amanda Carpenter: “Palin says Obama’s vow to meet with foreign enemies goes ‘beyond naivate, [sic] beyond poor judgment. Diplomacy is hard work by serious people’ with guidelines and sanctions ‘before any kind of presidential summit would take place.’” (Amanda Carpenter, “Palin’s Smoking Obama On Foreign Policy,” Townhall.com, http://www.townhall.com, 10/2/08)

Commentary’s Jennifer Rubin: “Sarah Palin takes us back to the Bush-Cheney energy plan and reminds him that Obama voted for it. Then she goes back to her own record of getting tough with the oil company. Forget expectations, she might just be winning this. At least for now.” (Jennifer Rubin, “Energy Plan,” Commentary’s “Contentions” Blog, http://www.commentarymagazine.com, 10/2/

I’ve watched republicans for years. They have a very good method of campaigning. If they are holding back there is a reason.
Don’t be surprised to see them slam “O’ close to the end. After all, how many times has “O’ bounced back from thingns that should have destroyed him? If it wasnt for the media those things would have.
\
The media is in the tank so far for “O” that when the repubs whack him they need to do it in a manner the press can’t counter.
And they will. I know republicans very well. They are far from stupid. I’ve worked with them and against them.

Common sense should tell both individuals and businesses that, if they have to do any business on credit, they are operating in the red, just like america is.
In the 1950′s, prior to opening credit markets wide to everyone, this country had practically no debt. Individual citizens had no personal debt. and america had the highest standard of living in the world.
Obviously, there are those on Wall St. and in the Federal Government that can’t wait for all of us who remember those days ~~~to die off.
