No matter how they slice it, they’ll say Biden won and Ifill was so impartial.

#2 DancesWithPumas on 10.02.08 at 10:37 pm

david brooks…amazed…. every bit the equal of joe biden.
suspects republicans will be quite pleased.

mark shields… it was something we’ve never heard before…no major missteps… she cam ebetter far far better than expected.

#3 osaka puma on 10.02.08 at 10:37 pm

how did the debate turn out?

#4 bythelake on 10.02.08 at 10:38 pm

I think Sarah did GREAT!

#5 Middle age female on 10.02.08 at 10:38 pm

CNN feels that Biden did the best debate of his life.

#6 SARTOM on 10.02.08 at 10:38 pm

FOX gives the win to Sarah.

CNN gives Biden the best debater……

#7 osaka puma on 10.02.08 at 10:38 pm

#8 bythelake on 10.02.08 at 10:38 pm

Biden, well he showed up.

#9 Grizzly on 10.02.08 at 10:39 pm

murphy on 10.02.08 at 10:31 pm but I still can’t hate him.

he’s polite, calm, and genuine — at least in his bearing.
*******************

I think he is sincere – the trouble is, he’s been in DC for so long, sincerety is a du jour thing; I think he lost his bearings at some point; his roots so to speak. And in Joe’s world, reality is poll based.

#10 mpdamon on 10.02.08 at 10:39 pm

No one remembers about Biden and Anita Hill. That’s why Vidal calls us the “United States of Amnesia”.

Any links for polls so we can vote?

#11 osaka puma on 10.02.08 at 10:39 pm

sartom..really?? FOX gives the nod to sarah thats great!

#12 mountainsong on 10.02.08 at 10:39 pm

Joe did ok. He was human. It’s too bad he has sunk to being BO’s Yes man.
But Sarah carried the night. If anything can save McCain it’s Sarah!

#13 mick on 10.02.08 at 10:40 pm

Not surprised about CNN.

#14 BigCatLover on 10.02.08 at 10:40 pm

Biden handed Palin, Baracks Change campaign and she took it and carried it.

#16 KarenWI on 10.02.08 at 10:40 pm

CNN says Biden won? What debate did THEY have on? Sure wasn’t the one I watched!!

#17 NewOrleansPuma on 10.02.08 at 10:41 pm

Murphy: for the record..you will never have to bow to me except of course if I am ever chosen Queen of Mardi Gras, Queen of Carnival , Queen of the Rex parade..but have no fear….that will not happen as I do not live “uptown” and am not a WASP!!!!!

#24 AniEm on 10.02.08 at 10:42 pm

Governor Palin won the debate and messed over the entire MSM while she was at it. She was great. And, really, I’m glad Ifill was good. I always admired Gwen Ifill, but was really concerned about her bias for BO.

#25 webfoot on 10.02.08 at 10:42 pm

ABC commenting that Palin looked at the camera to connect to the people and Biden talked to the moderator. Now one guy is going to do a “fact check.”

#26 slyt2 on 10.02.08 at 10:42 pm

Say it isn’t so, Joe… my mom called me right before that part came on and so I missed it why did she say that????

#27 osaka puma on 10.02.08 at 10:42 pm

Posted on October 2nd, 2008 by RedStateDem
Email I received today. Can anyone substantiate this?
Hi Folks:
Today is a great day for our nation. Phil Berg, The peoples attroney, has won his court case. Obama has 3 days to produce a vault copy of his birth certificate. I know for a fact that this DOES NOT exist. That is the judge order. Click here to view the Judge order. I am thrill that Phil Berg has done something that no one else had the guts to do. Please go to his web site, ObamaCrimes and donate some money to him. He has worked to help all of us and now he has proved he can win, we must help him with some money.
Do I hear a rush to New York for a replacement.
Phil Berg is this nation greatest attroney and thank god he works for all of us little people. More to come. Join us tonight at 7 pm central for a update with Phil on the No Obama Talk show. Click here to listen live

(was posting downstairs) I was listening in the car to the radio so I missed all the discussion here. She did fine. I was disappointed that whoever prepared her for the debate didn’t give her more rock solid evidence to throw back at him. God knows there’s plenty out there…. I’ve been a debater so I guess I look at this a bit differently.

#48 mick on 10.02.08 at 10:47 pm

slyt2, she said it in reference to Biden going back to the same ole nobama talking points of dwelling on the past and playing the blame game…. blah blah blah…. she had mentioned earlier that for a party that says they’re about the future, the nobama camp sure does talk about the past alot and that the american people are tired of it
AMEN sista!

#52 webfoot on 10.02.08 at 10:48 pm

Peggy Noonan on NBC says Palin “killed.” Noonan says, “She was the lead, he was the second.” “Killed” being a good thing apparently.

#53 lizben08 on 10.02.08 at 10:48 pm

I still don’t agree with many of her policies, but have to admit she made women look good tonight. I have really been feeling bad about voting for Republican ticket, now I’m actually looking forward to voting for her as first female Vice President.

#54 bythelake on 10.02.08 at 10:48 pm

Gonna see a shift in the polls…going for McCain/Palin!

#55 mick on 10.02.08 at 10:48 pm

B for Palin

#63 mountainsong on 10.02.08 at 10:50 pm

She should give McCain a healthy bump. He needs it after supporting the bailout.

#64 NoHillaryNoVote on 10.02.08 at 10:50 pm

Can’t believe Peggy Noonan on MSNBC just said Palin killed (positive feedback). Noonan has not been positive about Palin from day one – so this is a change. Noonan was very harsh after Palin’s previous tv interviews so this is a real change.

#65 murphy on 10.02.08 at 10:50 pm

well, in Puma PAC polls you can only vote ONCE.

just sayin.

#66 freddiebrown on 10.02.08 at 10:51 pm

I think she did very well and so did the 15 people on Fox that was polled in the room.

#67 NewOrleansPuma on 10.02.08 at 10:51 pm

I would trust this woman with this country right now…
Period.

#68 CasperCat on 10.02.08 at 10:51 pm

Palin, is what she is she is herself first…then Politics.. And, Now that is change I can believe in…..!!!

#69 EWard on 10.02.08 at 10:52 pm

Governor Palin – Hit it out of the ballpark!

#70 bythelake on 10.02.08 at 10:52 pm

We need to prowl McCain to get charged with energy for his next debate. Make Obama sweat like Joe did tonight!

#71 webfoot on 10.02.08 at 10:52 pm

#65 murphy-lol. Your “just sayin’” comment is right up there in my favorites. You haven’t had to use your “enough” in awhile. Which is a good thing, of course.

#72 4hillinca on 10.02.08 at 10:52 pm

Obama is probably texting eveyone now to go vote for Biden on CNN poll.

#73 snowtiger on 10.02.08 at 10:52 pm

Stupid Yahoo knocked me of with 6 mins left

#74 BigCatLover on 10.02.08 at 10:53 pm

I voted 5 times and the numbers never moved. Poll preset.

#75 Hillgirl on 10.02.08 at 10:53 pm

In the beginning when Biden was giving all of the figures–dollar figures, voting records etc. I think people just glazed over–he did not connect with the people. She really did connect with the people. I like Biden and think he is very smart and experienced, but I think he missed the boat. I also think he kept repeating attacks on McCain so often that they lost their effect after awhile. It is not what you say that sticks with people but how you say it. I think that is where she won.

#76 mick on 10.02.08 at 10:53 pm

How many Obots are voting on our Puma poll?

#91 mick on 10.02.08 at 10:59 pm

I certainly don’t agree with her on many issues, but I don’t agree with BO either. But I am voting for women this year.

Biden’s snarky faces didn’t help him. Palin maintained composure and dignity throughout. Fire and nice!

Sarah was fantastic!! 5 weeks as Vp nominee and what a lady.
Good Night Pumas. Tomorrow will be a busy day and I owe $10.

Claire McCaskill is on. That woman is a witch!

#123 Pretjene on 10.02.08 at 11:11 pm

SHE did AWESOME! AND Biden has a credibility problem! SHE DID distinguish her policies and she DID refute that fact! I can’t believe the MEDIA is trying to SPIN THIS! SHE beat him hands down! HE entered the Senate when she was in SECOND GRADE! AND BIDEN said HIMSELF that OBAMA is NOT ready to be President!

#124 bythelake on 10.02.08 at 11:11 pm

119 NObamaDem……Yes I did, that is horrible. I can’t imagine how that poor old soul felt being thrown from her home at 90 years old.

She was probably a target of that predatory lending. Horrible, just horrible.

#125 Asian4Hillary on 10.02.08 at 11:11 pm

I’ve watched the whole debate from beginning to end. Sarah did a terrific job with the debate against Joe Biden who has 35 years experience as US Senator. Palin was thrown into the wolves only for 5 weeks, but she come across as intelligent, quick on her feet, straight talker. In fact during debate she was addressing the American people not the moderator or Joe Biden. She brought the case to the people and explained it in a simple way for average Joe to understand. When she answer questions and rebuttal against Biden, her rebuttal was drawn from her own job, and way of living; an average family eking out a living worrying about day to day problems that every American family can relate to.

Joe Biden was good, but he can’t relate to the people, he talks like a typical lawyer and senator. In fact his answer was monotonous, we’ve heard it before from other politicians who have been in Washington too long.
What I see on Joe during debate, he’s a typical Washington insider, no change can be expected, but same o same o just different day.

Palin is like a breath of fresh it, she says it as she sees it; she was not shy in addressing the media by telling them they filter everything she says which give people the wrong impression about her. I like it when she said, “I prefer directly talking to the people.” That is something you seldom heard from politicians.

Governor Palin’s performance proved that the interviews by Couric and Gibson were heavily edited.

Did you hear the undecided voter in Frank Luntz’s group saying that she expected a dunce?

Go McCain/Palin!!!!

Dear Newsmax Reader:

Yesterday, our sponsor, The National Republican Trust PAC, sent the urgent message below warning of McCain’s defeat unless Americans across the nation joined in bypassing the liberal media to expose Barack Obama. Response has been overwhelming and you may have had difficulty clicking through due to high demand. If you have not read their message, please do so today.

Obama’s Radical Agenda Exposed

An Urgent Message from The National Republican Trust PAC

Dear Fellow American:

Never before in the history of our nation have we faced such a grave crisis: one of the most radical political figures ever to be nominated by a major party is just minutes away from becoming President of the United States.

That man is Barack Obama.

He promises to change America forever. If elected, he will do just that — but in ways you may not like.

Remember Obama is the most liberal member of the United States Senate.

He received a 100 percent Liberal Rating from the National Journal, making him the most left-wing Senator in Washington — more liberal than even Democratic senators like Ted Kennedy.

If you look at Obama’s record, you will understand just how dangerous this man is.

He even has terrorist friends he won’t denounce. One such man is William Ayers, a leader in the radical terrorist group the Weatherman Underground. The group bombed several government buildings, including the Pentagon, killing civilians and police officers.

In 2001, Ayers said he had no regrets for his actions and wished he could have done more.

The ties between Obama and Ayers are tight. Both served on two non profit boards and they worked closely together. Ayers even hosted a political event at his home for Obama.

Obama has acknowledged he is a friend of Ayers and defends his association by saying he, Obama, was only 8 years old at the time of the Pentagon bombing.

However, Obama has no explanation as to why he is still a friend of Ayers.

Obama has even been endorsed by radicals such as Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan.

No one can deny hearing about Obama’s relationship with the America-hating Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

There should be little doubt that William Ayers and Louis Farrakhan and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright are rooting for Obama — because he is one of them.

In keeping with such friends, Obama has promised to meet with radical leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without “preconditions” even though Ahmadinejad has promised to “wipe Israel off the map” and “destroy” America.

Even radical Hamas terrorists have praised him.

“We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election,” Ahmed Yousef, senior Hamas leader was quoted by ABC radio as saying.

Help the National Republican Trust PAC tell the truth about Obama – Go Here Now

Dangerous Economic Plan

And then there are Obama’s dangerous economic plans for America.

He wants to almost double the capital gains tax. He wants to strip the FICA tax cap off every worker making more than $97,500. He wants to increase the dividend tax. He wants to let the Bush tax cuts expire — giving almost every American family an automatic tax increase.

He has called for more than $800 billion in new spending programs.

He is so radical he even backed driver’s licenses for illegal aliens — even though such a move would help future terrorists move freely in the United States.

He is the most pro-abortion candidate in the history of the country. In 2001, as a state legislator in Illinois, he opposed a bill to protect live born children — children actually born alive! He was the only Illinois senator to speak out against the bill.

He opposes gun rights. He has long history of trying to deny ordinary citizens access to guns.

He originally backed Washington D.C.’s total ban on private handguns — a ban that was overturned. The NRA rated him an “F” on gun positions and says he is one of the most dangerous anti-gun politicians in the nation.

Never forget that Obama is a Harvard educated elitist. To him we Americans are simply “bitter” and he has mocked us saying “[they] cling to their guns and their religion.”

Support the National Republican Trust PAC’s Campaign to Expose Obama – Go Here Now

Exposing the Truth

Hillary Clinton was late in recognizing the threat Obama posed to her campaign, but once she did, her strategy worked.

When Hillary exposed Obama publicly, her campaign saw a major turnaround.

Hillary won every major state primary in the nation with the sole exception of Obama’s home state of Illinois.

And even though Obama was “anointed” by the media and Democratic elites, Hillary went on to win eight of the last 10 Democratic primaries.

How did Obama beat Hillary for the nomination?

Well, using a loophole in Democratic rules, he was able to rack up large majorities in caucus states where he outspent and out organized her.

But in large, contested states she won almost every time. Why? Because when Democrats heard what Obama really stood for, they turned on him.

Make no mistake about it: If we let Americans know the truth about Obama, John McCain can win this election!

But we must employ Hillary Clinton’s strategy.

We must expose Obama for the dangerous radical he is.

Send a donation today to help our cause – Go Here Now

You Can Make a Difference

This is why the National Republican Trust Political Action Committee is moving to implement a “shock and awe” strategy against Obama in key states.

We plan to take out powerful television ads, Internet ads and other communications to inform Americans about the dangers posed by Barack Obama.

We plan to target key states that can make a difference — But we need your help to do it.

As a political action committee, we can accept up to $5,000 in donations per contributor.

A $5,000 donation can help us saturate a key market for a full day with television ads.

But if you can’t do the full amount, even $2,500 or $1,000 or $500 — Any amount you can afford will help.

Stop and think how much Obama may cost you and your family in new taxes over the next four years alone: $50,000, $75,000, $100,000 or even more.

Your donation today may actually save you much more in the years to come.

Please help today – Donate by Going Here Now

It will most certainly help our great nation.

Thank you.

Yours for America,

Scott Wheeler
Executive Director

Well be careful of the Liberal polls but text letter B for Palin to 36288! SHE clearly is the winner, and send that Claire McCaskill a scathing email, she is a sore loser and was saying that Palin did not refute Bushes policies and SHE did OVER and OVER, where are the sound bites of Biden agreeing with McCain and singing his praises and also saying Obama is NOT EXPERIENCED to BE PRESIDENT!

MSNBC had a focus group lololol 90% of the undeciders said Palin won, their was an African American sister that said hey Palin’s got my vote. Go ahead Palin with ya BAD self

#145 Bella-Me on 10.02.08 at 11:17 pm

Hands down Palin won this debate. I loved two of her quips to Biden. She corrected him when he said, “They want to drill, drill, drill.” She said, the chant is actually, “Drill Baby Drill.”

And I loved it when she said, “Say it aint so, Joe.” Referring to the fact he keeps going back to the past when change and the future is what the aim is.

She was so much fun to watch. I knew she would hit a home run. The room of undecided voters were asked who thought Palin won and 95% of them raised their hands. Now we need McCain to reinvigorate this campaign. He needs to get aggressive and hit Obot with the fact he tried to pass legislation to ward off this crisis in 2005. Hammer it home!!!!

Well, I haven’t seen the reactions with PUMAs yet, but I am so happy that Sarah did such a great job tonight. I am a little sad that Republican women should now have their own hero, sad………………that my hero is not in the race because it was stolen from her.
I also think of the difference in the debates with the two new people, obie and Sarah.
One had a face of anger and ego, the other of hope and enthusiasm. Comparing Barack to Sarah, I think obie’s face of hope and change are a mask to cover up a lot of anger and hate.
The Republican’s had better be dancing in the streets tonight.

The very fact that a lazy arrogant criminally connected religiously suspect racist lying sack of shit could be THIIIIISSSS close to being POTUS is proof to me that America is just about as dumb as she can get and still survive as a democracy. We are so close to elected someone who, if tables were turned, would be in jail in anyother country or not even on the radar.

I am ashamed lately to be a woman and an American. Ashamed because if Americans would just WAKE UP we would be just fine, but it appears we would rather just drink kool aid while rome burns….

I showed a few of the therapists some of the websites from Bo’s bloggers making comments that Sarah should have aborted her son. Boy were they angry.

I asked them to send an e-mail to all their professional contacts in the US explaining their anger and to send the websites as well. I’m sure they will.

Email from McCain campaign just now (They’re aware of and working on the issues PUMAs have been contacting them about):
Dear Supporter,

In the weeks since I joined John McCain as his running mate, the Obama-Biden Democrats have used their allies in the liberal media to paint us negatively, all in an attempt to sway undecided voters. Tonight’s debate gave me the opportunity to bypass the biased media filter and communicate our shared values of reform directly to the voters.

I know millions were watching as I went toe-to-toe against Senator Biden to explain our plans. Reform Republicans will strengthen the economy, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and secure our nation from the threat of Islamic extremism.

As we head into the final month of the campaign, I’m asking you to ensure we have the resources necessary to compete with the Obama-Biden Democrats and their liberal media allies in races across the country. You can help today by giving your financial support right now.

The stakes are extremely high and voters are already casting their ballots for the general election. You may have heard the media reports out of Ohio about same-day registration and voting. The Obama-Biden Democrats and their allies are exploiting loopholes in Ohio election laws that we fear may result in unqualified voters casting ballots. They’re also hoping our voters will be so confused, that they will throw up their hands in frustration and stay at home instead of voting. That’s why it’s important to re-double our efforts.

The Democratic Secretary of State in Ohio even tried to disqualify thousands of Republican absentee ballot applications. She enlisted the help of liberal partisan friends and special interest groups when we challenged this in court. Thankfully, we were successful in taking the case all the way to the Ohio Supreme Court and won the right to reinstate these absentee ballot applications. The Obama-Biden Democrats will likely try this shameful, partisan tactic in other targeted states. They’ll do anything to win this election.

We’re heading into the critical weeks when many undecided voters will make their choice. Our team needs to get our message out to these crucial voters who can tip the scales in our favor. Your generous contribution of $25, $50, $75, $150, $250, $500 or more will help our team reach these voters.

You donation to McCain-Palin Victory 2008 funds our critical get-out-the-vote efforts in states all across the country. These efforts will be critical in defeating the shameful tactics the Obama-Biden Democrats are employing. Will you help get-out-the-vote for our entire team by making a donation right now?

I want to sincerely thank you for your generosity. Anything you can do to help today will go a long way to securing Victory on November 4th.

Sincerely,

Governor Sarah Palin

P.S. The Obama-Biden Democrats will do anything to win. Their allies are already hard at work employing shameful election tactics in Ohio and they won’t stop there. We’re in the final stretch of the campaign and need your immediate financial support to elect our ticket from top to bottom on Election Day. Please join our team for victory today!

murphy–I am very very concerned about the polls. Remember people, USA elected GW not once but TWICE.

I have never been this sure or this scared of anything in my life. November 4th needs to be a republican victory, or we all lose.

every single one of us….

ABSOLUTELY…BUT, lemme say one thing about these click and vote polls, OBAMA as you all know has operatives including the dunce who created FACEBOOK, and so they spend hours a day online and continually vote these polls with their ISP filler accounts and vote over and over and over…these online polls CAN NOT be trusted! I have seen the polls reflect Palin or McCain and then the Obamabots hit and it goes way over! FUNNY the TRUTH is they are 5 points or less apart! WHY not do the old fashioned phone polls? I think we ought to organize one and call a random sampling in various counties in various states and record the info! THAT would give a more accurate view.

Obama Snubs Hillary for Supreme Court

Thursday, October 2, 2008 12:08 PM

By: Jim Meyers Article Font Size

Bill and Hillary Clinton are only half-heartedly working to help elect Barack Obama president because he wouldn’t guarantee Hillary a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court if he wins the White House, sources told The New York Post.

One insider said: “Hillary wants an assurance that if she shows loyalty and goes out there like a good soldier, she will be rewarded with a nomination for the Supreme Court should a seat become available.”

A representative for Hillary sent an e-mail to The Post’s “Page Six” column on Wednesday calling the report: “Absurd. Nonsense. Rubbish. Hogwash. Malarkey.”

But The Post asserted on Thursday: “The problem is, we’re told, Obama ‘balked’ at promising Hillary the judgeship, perhaps because he still resents how the Clintons attacked him during the primaries.”

Bill Clinton has recently called Obama’s Republican rival John McCain a “good man” and a “friend,” and said he understands why GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin “is hot out there.”

Radio Reporter Fired Over Obama T-Shirt at Rally

Thursday, October 2, 2008 2:01 PM

Article Font Size

A veteran Detroit radio reporter has been fired after wearing a pro-Barack Obama T-shirt while covering a rally for the presidential candidate Sunday at the Detroit Public Library.

Karen Dinkins, who has worked at Metro Detroit WWJ (950 AM) for 13 years, acknowledged that the radio station fired her Monday, but she did not elaborate.

“I don’t want to comment at this time,” she told The Detroit News.

Georgeann Herbert, WWJ’s programming director, said Dinkins compromised the station’s objectivity by wearing the T-shirt.

The station “believes that our credibility with our listeners rests on the independence of our newsroom staff,” the statement said. “WWJ does not favor any candidate, party or issue.

“While we encourage employees to exercise their rights as citizens, we expect them to be on guard against any actual or perceived conflict of interest when covering news stories,” Herbert said.

Send an email fo support or call for this radio station doing the non partisan right thing.

Hillary spent her life trying to reform health care. Not just this primary season. She had the party she committed to stab her in the back. Rather than become a pariah in her own party she did what she thought best. Stayed inside. Do you think she is happy with the way things are right now?
Its easy to tell others to completely sacrifice everything for what YOU want.
Remember , when they wanted her to become an attack dog for bo against Palin she said no.
I would have love to see Hillary fight to the bitter end. Bitter is what it would have been, They would have destroyed her forever. at least now she has a fighting chance to accomplish something. A very polite debate, where the two Vice-Presidential candidates showed respect for each other.
Governor Sarah Palin had a maximum task in debating with Senator Biden, with his 26/29 years experience of working in the Senate.
She performed extremely well against the more experienced Biden and certainly did not disappoint
McCain. Governor Palin has a strong future in politics
in the years ahead. Her input to-night will not be lost and she has, I believe picked up more voters for the McCain/Palin ticket.
On Greta wire, Fox news, there is overwhelming
support and compliments for her performance.
It far outshines the support for Senator Biden at this
point in time.

Good fortune, Shane, Ireland

The real fight is going to take place after McCAin and Palin take the white house. Then the corrupt leadership will know they are in a do or die situation. If you think things are bad now, wait until Dean and company are cornered, like the rats they are.

#301 BrooklynNY on 10.03.08 at 12:12 am

It also seems Palin showed Joe Biden’s wife more respect in this debate than Joe himself did at the Democratic Convention. She commended Jill’s accomplishments, no references to her being “drop dead gorgeous” or the fact that she has a doctorate being a “problem.” Instead she praised Jill’s career choice and recognized what a valuable role teachers play in American life.

I’ve come to one conclusion.

2008 is The Year of the Women.

Sarah and Hillary can out-debate any man in Washington. The girls can “clean their clocks.”

I am so glad Sarah did well.

By the way, I went by the McCain Hqs in town today and they were all out of “Democrats for McCain/Palin” signs. They said those lawn signs were the first to go.

Also I warned them about ACORN and voting fraud. They said they are well aware of it and are monitoring it closely. I hope so.

I’m volunteering to call the Unaffiliated, because I think some of them were Hillary supporters.

Initially, I was going to write in Hillary. But after investigating Obama’s background, I must vote for McCain because I’m afraid if Obama gets in he will change America as we know it. Starting with the freedom of speech.

Email just received from McCain-Palin campaign – over Palin’s signature. Primary goal to seek $ but also discusses Ohio absentee ballot issues with BO campaign.

——————————————————-
Dear Supporter,

Berg v. Obama Update — Thursday, October 2
Berg’s Subpoena Request Denied by U.S. State Department

Philip Berg hit a speed bump this afternoon. In a letter from David Newman of the Office of Legal Adviser for the U.S. Department of State, his attempted service of subpoena on the Vital Records Section of the State Department and a pair of U.S. embassies was rejected.

I’ve known for a few weeks now that Phil Berg intended to subpoena several entities with regard to documentation sought to support his allegations in his federal case against Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee, and the Federal Election Commission, but kept quiet because Berg discussed this with me off the record, and I must honor that. While I was not able to obtain a copy of the letter as it is technically not yet a matter of public record, I was able to copy the language inside.

Dear Mr. Berg:

This is in response to your attempted service of subpoenae on the U.S. Dept. of State, Passport Services, Vital Records Section; the US Embassy Nairobi; and the U.S. Embassy Jakarta in connection with the above-referenced proceeding. Through the subpoenae, you are seeking passport application and citizenship-related information regarding Barrack [sic] Hussein Obama. For the reasons explained below, the Dept of State currently cannot respond to your request because it does not comply with applicable Dept. regulations, referenced below and attached.

The procedure by which a party seeking official information from a non-party federal agency is to request the information under the agency’s “Touhy” regulations. See United States ex rel. Touhy v. Ragen 340 U.S. 462 (1951) … Your requests do not comply with those requirements.

In addition to serving the Executive Office of the Office of the Legal Adviser, as required under 22 C.F.R. 172.2, the requests also must be set forth in writing, and with as much specificity as possible, the nature and relevance of the official information sought. 22 C.F.R. 172.5(a). This information is needed by the dept in order to make a determination as to whether it is appropriate to authorize the production of the requested information and documents. The only information you have included is a description of the records that you seek. There is no information as to how all the information requested is relevant to the proceedings. Because your request does not comply with the requirements in the Department’s regulations, we cannot comply and and no Department employee has been authorized to provide documents or any official information in connection with the proceeding.

Moreover, based on the description of the information that you seek, the records may be protected by the Privacy Act, 5 USC 552a. Under the Privacy Act, the Department may only be able to release such records with the written consent of the person to whom the record pertains. 5 USC 552a(b). Since you have not provided written consent on behalf of the individual to whom the records relate, we would be precluded by law from disclosing any Privacy Act protected information you requested.

For the foregoing reasons, please consider this letter as our written objection to the subpoena you have delivered and please be advised that no State Department records, to the extent any exist, can be produced to you pursuant to the above-reference subpoena.

David Newman
Office of the Legal Adviser
U.S. Department of State

As I just obtained this information about 20 minutes ago, and I’m not sure whether the letter has reached Berg in the same time it reached the court, I have not had the chance to speak with Berg with regard to this matter.

There will be more, later. I’m sure of it. I find it amazing that the State Department is asking for Berg to include written authorization from Obama for release of any records. I find it amazing that they spelled Barack Obama’s name wrong!

Who is Joey Stanko – Biden’s “Average American” Gas Pump Buddy who never has enough money to fill his tank.

, “Joey Stanko” aka Joseph Stanko, Jr. is a LOBBYIST, in Washington working for the firm Hunton & Williams!

http://libertyrocks.wordpress.com/2008/10/02/who-is-joey-stanko-bidens-average-american-gas-pump-buddy/

Well, I just got done watching tonight’s debates. I found it interesting when Joe Biden mentioned the name of an ordinary American who he apparently had a conversation with at a gas pump, about the economy, and about the cost of that gas!

Sen. Biden said the name of this “average American” was Joey Stanko. Some on a popular Conservative message board jokingly said, “I’ll bet he made that name up”.

Now, out of pure curiosity, I decided to do a quick google search, and lo and behold, “Joey Stanko” aka Joseph Stanko, Jr. is a LOBBYIST, in Washington working for the firm Hunton & Williams!

His complete profile/resume is available for viewing here: http://www.hunton.com/bios/bio.aspx?id=16009

The introductory paragraph states the following:

Joseph Stanko, Jr.

Practice focuses on issue advocacy before Congress, White House and other Executive Branch officials in the areas of global climate change, renewable and bio-fuels, the Clean Air Act and other environmental laws, energy policy and Homeland Security. Also provides strategic planning for corporations developing environmental mission statements or undertaking long-term business planning.

So the question now becomes… Did Biden have an astounding coincidence happen where the name of the “average American” he spoke to at the pump just happened to have the same name as a Washington Lobbyist pushing these exact issues? Or, did Biden, in his attempt to one-up Palin and her anecdotal stories about people she has spoken to on the campaign trail simply make something up?

I truly believe there are no coincidences, and what would be the statistical chances that Joe would happen to run into “some guy” at a gas pump, speak about energy issues, and what are the chances that that “average American” would share the SAME NAME as a man who Biden is undoubtedly familiar with through his lobbying activities in Washington.

Again, there are no coincidences, and I believe the statistical chances are FIRMLY on my side when I say — Nice try Joe, but you’ve been BUSTED!

From flapsblog.com

Early voting is taking place in Ohio.

So here is what is happening today. People are showing up to register and vote. There is no affirmative evidence that these people have not registered or voted somewhere else. There is no control. Normally in an election, partisan election monitors are allowed into polling places so that they can police each other. But not in two counties, Franklin and Montgomery, in Ohio. Brunner also issued an advisory opinion to counties saying that they are not required to allow election monitors.

I went on WaPo to read what were saying about the debate. Then I read Dionne’s column. I never got to the end of it because I was mad as he** and I wasn’t going to take it anymore. My response to Dionne:

“Dionne: You and the rest of the adoring Obama MSM are sickening.

You talk about doubting Sarah Palin, but you have no doubts about Obama.

You and the rest of the MSM trust a man with “CLOSE” ties to Ayers(Terrorist), Rezko(Syrian and convicted felon), Khalidi(former PLO member and sympathizer of Iran), Obama’s two Pakistani friends now his bundlers, Soomro(former Pakistan President, his host in Pakistan), McKnight, Auchi (Iraqi arms dealer to Saddam Hussein), Alsammarae (Iraqi who Obama wrote letter to allow into the US), Valerie Jarrett Obama’s Iranian born Campaign Finance Chief, Frank Davis, controversial mentor, etc.

Everyone mentioned above, except the Terrorist Ayers, are citizens of countries which are our adversaries. The Iraqis had ties to Saddam Hussein.

You and the rest of the MSM blindly follow Obama and mislead Americans.

I find that a travesty of journalism.

You and the rest of Obama’s MSM surrogates have done a more in-depth investigation of Palin in one month than you have ever done of Obama in the last 19 months.

I know why the MSM Obama surrogates won’t investigate Obama, because the truth about his past would make him unelectable to the American voters.

You and the MSM have created a myth of the man named Obama.

I am a moderate Independent who never thought I would see this behavior by the MSM enmasse as I’ve witnessed during the past year.

2008 the year journalism died.”

O’rielly said on his radio show yesterday that he is going after Dodd next!

Great, gotta see that! Tivo is ready to see someone finally rip into these crooks. I wish someone would tear Obie a new one for his caucus fraud and corruption. I would pay big bucks (if I had it) to see that!

#401 RoBoTech on 10.03.08 at 1:11 am

Problem is, Biden out and out LIED 14 times, and it’s arguable that he was correct 21 more times.
Palin didn’t make a complete untrue statement, and has 4 arguable statements.
And WHO won?

#303 Murphy, I think that there will be a McCain/Palin bounce in the polls as well, but it’ll probably take a couple of days for it to seep in. Tomorrow’s polls probably won’t even reflect the debate, because tomorrow’s polls used samples from today that are pre-debate. A steady increase will be better and longer lasting than a knee jerk bounce.

#404 RoBoTech on 10.03.08 at 1:19 am

If Chris Matthew faces the wraith of the other MSNBC pundits and say something good about palin, we are going to see a decent bump in the polls for McCain by Monday.
Sarah has saved McCain’s wrinkly ass again.

(CNN) — Hillary Clinton issued a statement shortly after the debate praising Joe Biden’s performance:

“Tonight’s debate underscored the stark choice American families face in this election,” she said. “I’ve known Senator Biden a long time – as Americans saw tonight, he is a strong, passionate and experienced leader. Like Barack Obama, Joe Biden understands both the economic stresses here at home and the strategic challenges in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world.

“We saw yet again that Senator McCain and Sarah Palin will offer only more of the same failed policies of the Bush Administration. America’s hardworking Middle Class families deserve better

I am getting a little tired of Hillary ..Sorry

Gay here too. Go for it Murphy. There is a lot more to be afraid of from Obama, than there is from someone who is a friend of gay people and the American people.

Palin backs everything short of the term “marriage” for gays.

I cannot stress how important it is for everyone to vote for someone if Obama is going to be defeated.

Keep in mind that he has been recruiting college kids, 20 years from now, they will hate the memory of the day they got onto an Obama bus and gave away their vote due to peer pressure or stupidity.

If Obama is to be beaten, then people who can see what Obama is all about need to vote if for no other reason than to offset the votes he and his minions are hijacking all around the country.

Voter fraud in not a joke. It is what lost Hillary her rightful place in the election and it will play again on Nov. 4.

When the investigations are done it will take legitimate McCain votes to make the difference after they investigate and throw out the crap Obama votes that can be proven. But there will still be the Obama votes that were made under pressure and duress that will not go away. There will still be McCain voters who were scared away from voting, just as caucus voters were scared away from voting for Hillary. ACORN is still out there working for Obama and Puma’s need to vote to make a difference.

EVERYONE watch this and get it moving, attach it to emails and send it to representatives! WE are fixing to allow Obama and his ilk to be in charge and THEY are the problem and NOT the solution!

Just as we Thought, feared even, the MSM has done its “dirty work” which has crossed the Atlantic.

Au vu des sondages et des commentaires des politologues, Biden est sorti vainqueur du débat avec Palin.

I think you can get the gist of this without a translation.

It was wonderful watching Palin last night. I loved the fact that in a couple of instances, it was clear she got to Biden, yes, Joseph Biden, a 26 or 36 year veteran of the U.S. Senate who went up one on one last night against a rookie. I loved it. She held her own against the odds given her by the misogynistic pundits. Oh, I can’t wait to see the Myth of Obama come tumbling down. Do you realize that there 229 articles written about Palin and only one was positive? This is why people need to think. Why are so many threatened by this woman that they would have to produce 229 negative articles while allowing only one positive article to get through? Well, even NAZI Obama could not stop last night!

#411 bydesign001 on 10.03.08 at 9:33 am

I’m going to contact the McCain/Palin party and suggest that they buy some air time for Palin to speak to the country before Election Day.
