Unfortunately, many Obama supporters can’t read. They are using that to say she blocked providing helath benefits to partners of gay state employees.
What happened in Alaska was the State Supreme COurt ruled that the state had to provide those benefits. A couple of republican legislators managed to get a measure passed that would overrule the State Supreme Court. The bill would have blocked the state from providing those benefits. Palin correctly noted that the Supreme Court had already ruled on this as a matter of right, and the legislature could not take away a right. Palin vetoed the bolcking of benefits, thereby allowing partner benefits to Alaska state employees.

I was listening in the car to the radio so I missed all the discussion. I was disappointed that whoever prepared her for the debate didn’t give her more rock solid evidence to throw back at him. God knows there’s plenty out there…. I’ve been a debater so I guess I look at this a bit differently.
Media on Fox said she did great, knowledgeable, forceful, not a single mistake, and mostly nothing embarassing, she held her own & think McCain will now recover.
Biden, they say, did no harm, and appeared that Sarah did get under his skin. But nothing impressive.

No one can deny hearing about Obama’s relationship with the America-hating Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
There should be little doubt that William Ayers and Louis Farrakhan and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright are rooting for Obama — because he is one of them.
In keeping with such friends, Obama has promised to meet with radical leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without “preconditions” even though Ahmadinejad has promised to “wipe Israel off the map” and “destroy” America.
Even radical Hamas terrorists have praised him.

Well, I just got done watching tonight’s debates. I found it interesting when Joe Biden mentioned the name of an ordinary American who he apparently had a conversation with at a gas pump, about the economy, and about the cost of that gas!
Sen. Biden said the name of this “average American” was Joey Stanko. Some on a popular Conservative message board jokingly said, “I’ll bet he made that name up”.
Now, out of pure curiosity, I decided to do a quick google search, and lo and behold, “Joey Stanko” aka Joseph Stanko, Jr. is a LOBBYIST, in Washington working for the firm Hunton & Williams!

I truly believe there are no coincidences, and what would be the statistical chances that Joe would happen to run into “some guy” at a gas pump, speak about energy issues, and what are the chances that that “average American” would share the SAME NAME as a man who Biden is undoubtedly familiar with through his lobbying activities in Washington.
