Not to burst anyone’s bubble but….all our prowls today on Ifill basically was making everyone aware that we felt it is a conflict of interest. Now in saying that……

McCain and an aide of Palin’s has said, they feel Ifill will be professional and unbiased. They don’t have a problem with her being the moderator.

So after tomorrow night any whining or complaining if Ifill is unfair in how she handles it will be useless because both of these candidates are on record saying they are okay with Ifill.

I think it was about Ohio and stealing elections…

#29 mountainsong on 10.01.08 at 6:19 pm

Along with the Bailout scam, I think voter registration fraud is the singlemost important thing happening.
Murphy never got back to me about doing a prowl on all the election representatives in states that have ongoing investigations. In any of those states, the election should be postponed or cancelled until those investigations have been finished and resolved!!!!!!

#30 TexasTigress on 10.01.08 at 6:19 pm

WBD – dang – I can’t even win ONE time !!!!!!!!! lol

#31 slyt2 on 10.01.08 at 6:19 pm

#25 TexasTigress No I think he said about Ohio and the early voting stuff that is what he was talking about at the end and then he said that about someone trying to steal the election and said to write him and BO having trouble in Ohio

#32 Rabblerouser on 10.01.08 at 6:20 pm

On a more somber note, I’ve been talking to the people I work with and while they want John McCain to win, they seem to think it will be BO. It’s as if the MSM has gotten into people’s heads and everyone is excepting the inevitable.

I hope it’s not inevitable.

Here’s a joke for the day:

Hello, is this the FBI?”

“Yes. What do you want?”

“I’m calling to report about my neighbor Billy Bob Smith!
He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood.”

“Thank you very much for the call, sir.”

The next day, the FBI agents descend on Billy Bob’s house. They
search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust
open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They swore at Billy
Bob and left..

The phone rings at Billy Bob’s house.

“Hey, Billy Bob! Did the FBI come?”

“Yeah!”

“Did they chop your firewood?”

“Yep.”

“Happy Birthday, Buddy”

#3 Bella-me,

Our goal was not to remove Gwen Ifill, it was to plant doubt and put a spot light on the issue. Goal completed. IF McCain camp whines about this now, it’s bad form.

I posted this earlier.

____________________________________________

WE SHOULD NOT WANT TO REPLACE GWEN IFILL!!

First, no matter how much we protest, I don’t think that Gwen will be replaced. BUT what this prowl does is it sets the stage for the media and the pundits to say … “well, considering that Palin was up against a moderator who is an Obama supporter, etc. etc.” ….

Second, this issue will continue to be talked about, (until the debate and after), on conservative blogs and on radio. I know Fox picked up the story already and it won’t be long before CNN will be talking about it to.

Third, I really hope that they DON’T replace Gwen with another moderator because this will work to our advantage. The “Gwen might be biased” thought will be in the mind of the average voter while they watch the debate!! Which is exactly what we want!!!

Regardless, I believe that Palin will do well in this debate. It’s not like this is her first time ever to debate. Yes, the material will be different, but I’m positive that she will be prepared.

:mrgreen:

Texas Tigress and Neworleanspuma, thank you both! yep, I love kicking @ss when it comes to this election, but couldn’t do it without the knowledge that I gleam from this blog and it’s because of you guys, that it sinks in. lol

I have to tell you this, I am a member on our democrat committee in the county I live in, I also hold a county position, I have a McCain sign to put in my yard, but so far, can’t seem to get it in the yard….:( My feet keep dragging, but like I told the young man, it’s not a vote for McCain, it’s a vote against Obie and no matter how hard to swollow it, I was going to do it to save my party. When I put that sign up, I most likely will be run out of town, but so far, everyone except my friend, is saying that they aren’t voting for him and when I say I”m voting McCain, their mouths drop open and agree with me that it’s the only way to stop obie from winning. Several have said if I am, then they are going to do it too. awwwwww PUMA power, how “sweet” it is. Just a good ole bunch of sweeties.

** I’m re-posting this (revised), because, downstairs, a few PUMAs responded saying it’s important…

———————

Please help the busier PUMAS here find important info and salient points in your posts!

> This is a critical time to act and convey to others (& to the media) whatever can help defeat BO and expose his camp’s dirt…

…and, because for some of us, our time is sometimes quite limited for browsing our long threads, you can make it easier for us to find the personally relevant info for our individual PUMA efforts.

———
-> SOME WAYS THAT CAN HELP:

– use subject headings on your post (in CAPS &/or bold).

– put important or salient points in bold

– use attention-grabbing words (like “ACTION ALERT” “URGENT” ect etc)

– write short, concise paragraphs (with spaces in between) or LIST your points or facts succinctly (like I’m doing here).

———-
> For making text bold, just type the following before and after the text you want in bold… like this:

text you want in bold

Just sent my email to OHIO

So write to this guy and tell him what you think about the early voting in Ohio !
gibsonradio@foxnews.com

I don’t like early voting, this doesn’t give voters a chance to see the debates and they can’t change their minds later when they find out the real scoop on the candidates.

If Obama is complaining about this and feels that people are cheating…

It typically means that he is doing what he is claiming his opponent is doing. So he refocuses everyone with a smokescreen to look the other way.

It is an Obama distraction.
It’s Obama that worked as lawyer for ACORN
It’s Obama that perpetrated caucus fraud in the primaries.
It’s Obama that is telling his people to get in voters faces.
It’s Obama that paid $800,000 to ACORN and had to explain it, and change the description of what the money was for
It’s the Democrats that wanted ACORN in the bailout and AMERICA said NO loudly!

GET REAL! AMERICA HAS BEEN WARNING THE MEDIA AND MCCAIN THAT THERE IS VOTER FRAUD WITH ALL THESE NEW REGISTRATIONS IN ALL THE SWING STATES. NO, OBAMA IS TRYING TO STEAL THE ELECTION, AND IF HE IS HAVING A HARD TIME…GOOD! THIS IS STILL AMERICA AND WE WANT FAIR ELECTIONS. YOU ARE THE FOOL IF YOU BELIEVE OBAMA. HIS SUPPORTERS ARE GETTING CAUGHT AND GOING TO JAIL. INVESTIGATE AND YOU WILL FIND

THE POLLS ARE RIGGED BY OBOTS TOO!

Nothing is what it seems.

Thank you for listening, stop repeating Obama accusations. We’re tired of his claims!!! He can’t blame his opponent

Anybody want to take a shot at addressing FedUpDem2008 concerns?????

As the token Repub I think I should be :neutral: on this one.

******REPOST FROM DOWNSTAIRS******

#374 fedupdem2008 on 10.01.08 at 6:07 pm hey,

just want to be sure we don’t join the right wingers in taking down a true journalist…the professionalism, integrity, experience, expertise of a PBS journalist is so rare these days in our media! not to mention support for PBS is already sth they struggle yearly for in funding, attacks in congress (how many times have the repubs tried to kill funding for public broadcasting!)

i feel that Ifal as a journalist in the true sense (remember them..?;), will be professional, non-partison (she’s NOT cable, geez!)….besides why do they have to shunt off the VP debate to the woman, hmm? i now of her for awhile now, but i’m pretty sure many won’t be as familiar, and sadly for all her hard work, integrity & reputation as a true investigative journalist for *years*~she’ll be indelibly assoc as the ‘biased moderator of the VP debate’ to the public!

I don’t think we should be tearing down the few women in the big leagues who’ve had to work that much harder…I know that is HRC’s legacy as well…And it is perverse to elevate aberrations like MMalkin et al as the go-to symbolic leader of the ’surpressed electorate’ (ie, puma & etc)!!!

As a minority women, i feel such role models are few & far between, and altho she’s VP debate (altho it has now taken on bigger importan ce after SP, JM performance lately-the debate committee didn’t think that when it was assigned to Ifal;)

Morever, taking on ppl like MMalkin etc as part of ‘our cause’ only continues to delegitimize, weaken & add to continuing dismissive portrayl of our objections/arguments, let alonw paint Puma & the like, as ‘opportunistic fanatics who will grasp at anything to hold up their pov’ (will we be hailing Rove next?!)

i know the Ifal as moderator does raise some eyebrows, but it seems to convenient to subject a respectibale journalist (after this primary & general election season, real journalists are too scarce & under-valued) to such over-scrutiny less than 24-hours before the debate. might even influence Ifal to go more lightly on JP than JB:-o!

Besides, I’d like to see what POV;) a professional, leader, working woman of color brings to the debate forum questions, intrepretations, responses, handling of big personalities, topics range, etc.

sigh~i’m starved for intelligent, substance-filled words & coherent, reasonable, logical converstations since HRC left! (the few secs of BC they show on tv are too few, sigh~!;) i swear, the whole fin problem & bill in congress etc became so clear (& not just ab situation now but what factors led up to it historically;) & understandable after listening to BC on Letterman!!;0)

P.S. HRC as JM Sec of HHS, while admirable, would be soooooo galling to someone of HRC’s abilities, who btw, was the *Presidential* candidate of the Dem Pty.

The polls are fluid and there’s still time to shift things….

WE NEED TO DO ALL WE CAN
TO TURN THE SWING STATES
FIRMLY IN OUR FAVOR !!!

No matter where you are…

– Make phone calls to people in swing states
– Write to & send good articles, links, etc to the media in swing-states
– Forward good articles, links, You-Tube videos and emails to everyone you know.
– Go to a swing state (if you don’t live there)… and talk to others, go door-to-door, distribute flyers & handouts, etc

*******************************************
3 Men who brought down Wall Street………………..and who they work for now.

Here is a quick look into 3 former Fannie Mae executives who have brought down Wall Street.
Be sure to read the “where they are now”!!

1. Franklin Raines: was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregulaties in Fannie Mae’s accounting activities. At the time of his
departure The Wall Street Journal noted, ” Raines, who long defended the company’s accounting despite mounting evidence that it wasn’t proper, issued a statement late Tuesday conceding that “mistakes were made” and saying he would assume responsibility as he had earlier promised. News reports indicate the company was under growing pressure from regulators to shake up its management in the wake of findings that the company’s books ran afoul of generally accepted accounting principles for four years.” Fannie Mae had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion.

Raines left with a “golden parachute valued at $240 Million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear. http://housingdoom.com/2006/12/18/fannie-charges/ . The Government noted, “The 101 charges reveal how the individuals improperly manipulated earnings to maximize their bonuses, while knowingly neglecting accounting systems and internal controls, misapplying over twenty accounting principles and misleading the regulator and the public. The Notice explains how they submitted six years of misleading and inaccurate accounting statements and inaccurate capital reports that enabled them to grow Fannie Mae in an unsafe and unsound manner.” These charges were made in 2006. The Court ordered Raines to return $50 Million Dollars he received in bonuses based on the miss-stated Fannie Mae profits.

2. Tim Howard: Was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard “was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a “stable pattern of earnings” at Fannie. In everyday English – he was cooking the books. The Government Investigation determined that, “Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within Fannie Mae,”

On June 16, 2006, Rep. Richard Baker, R-La .,
asked the Justice Department to investigate his allegations that two former Fannie Mae executives lied to Congress in October 2004 when they denied manipulating the mortgage-finance giant’s income statement to achieve management pay bonuses. Investigations by federal regulators and the company’s board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004.

Howard’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!

3. Jim Johnson: A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. A look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight’s May 2006 report on mismanagement and corruption inside Fannie Mae, and you’ll see some interesting things about Johnson. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson’s 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million.” Johnson is currently under investigation
for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.

Johnson’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

1. FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor

2. TIM HOWARD? Howard is also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama

3. JIM JOHNSON? Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama’s Vice Presidential Search Committee

IF OBAMA PLANS ON CLEANING UP THE MESS – HIS ADVISORS HAVE THE EXPERTISE – THEY MADE THE MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. Would you trust the men who tore Wall Street down to build the New Wall Street ?

Bolding key words is cool (not just to highlight important points & info). It also helps to break the monotony of blocks of text all looking the same……. as does italics, CAPS and “smileys”!

:smile:

———–
– Again, for making text BOLD it’s:

text you want in bold

…for italics:

text you want in italics

– For all the different “smileys” and also those special “bullets” you can use when listing your points, etc….
:arrow: like this one

Shelby, Sessions to oppose new version of $700 billion economic rescue plan tonight
Posted by Mary Orndorff, David White — Birmingham News October 01, 2008 3:33 PM

WASHINGTON – Sen. Jeff Sessions said he’ll vote against the $700 billion bailout of the financial industry tonight because it was cobbled together too quickly without enough public input and leaves too many questions unanswered.

I hope many of them will vote against it tonight.

#91 mountainsong on 10.01.08 at 6:59 pm

Did the Ohio thing—-asked em to just do for McCain whatever it was they did for Bush in 2004.

#92 catsrlove on 10.01.08 at 6:59 pm

Well, the tide is turning to wards nobama. My own state, PA., has now turned to nobo.

Is this Country crazy? We are in a crisis, and I am not talking about the financial crisis. We have a crisis of leadership.

What does nobo know about leadership? What does he know about anything? I would love to know who or what is behind him..

I trust John McCain, but he has got to do something to turn the tide, or it is all over.

He doesn’t have to do negative ads; all he has to do is lay out the facts about nobo. Talk about his connection to terrorist Bill Ayers. Ask him about the “help” convicted developer Tony Rezko gave him when he purchased his million dollar mansion..

I guess no one in America cares about his 20 year friendship with the Rev. Wright. The same Rev. Wright
that preaches “racism and hate for white America”.

This entire election is making me crazy..

But, but, if the Bill is not passed, it will mean the end of the world!!!!!

It is viral to the nation’s economy that this get done NOW!!! There are provisions that are vital, vital I say, to the very future of this country. Provisions like these:

- Film and Television Productions (Sec. 502) -what are poor people supposed to do without TV’s????

-Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503) – if we do not iimediately get wooden arrows into children’s hands, they will become drug addicts, putting further strain on the economy! And remember, we would have never heard of William Tell unless he had access to government subsidized wooden arrows in his quiver as a boy.

- Tax incentives for Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)-Rum is the breakfast of champions! It does a body good.

-Tax package for Auto Racing Tracks (317) – we need to keep the NASACR crowd focused on racin, and not on the economy!

- Wool Research (Sec. 325)-Poor people get cold, and much research is required on just how in the hack we can make more wool to clothe them.

It is crunch time! It is do or die time! It is now or never!

Sacrasm off/

Couple of points-
1. Senate- looks like it will pass, I am disappointed in Hillary voting for it, if she does. McCain too. What happened to testicular fortitude? None here.
2. Bill out stumping for BO- ditto on testicular fortitude, Bill is out of politics, he has his legacy and is building the Clinton Global Initiative- he doesn’t owe Obambi anything (except a kick in the ass)
3. Gwen Ifil- I think our mission has been accomplished- I think she will now have to be SO careful about appearing partial that she will over-extend herself on behalf of Palin or she is toast (or maybe not in this bizarro universe in which we find ourselves)

Well I have news for the Clintons, I will bet anything if Obama wins this election they will be the last people to hear from President Obama.

Obama only visited Bill and begged for his help when he was dropping the the polls, if he had the lead he has not the would not give Bill or Hillary the time of day, but let them suck up to him for the sake of staying in politics, I just hope Hillary never runs again because she sure as hell will not get my vote.

I dont see Kerry breaking his neck to run all over the place for Obama, neither are any of the Kennedy’s but if the Clintons feel that is what they need to do well for their sake I hope the get the rewards they are looking for, I can say one thing once Obama becomes president that is one black man that will not want any part of that, and they will soon learn that.

Obama’s wife will make sure Hillary dose not get one toe in any administration run by Obama

That bill is disgusting and I don’t know how the hell any of them can support it. The only clean person that is untouched with the filth of Washington politics is Palin and that is a fact.

Unfortunately we will never get the chance to embrace that kind of innocent in Washington, maybe that is what is need someone that knows absolutely nothing of how they do things up there, then she can start fresh and untouched with the pork , air marks and favors for this one and that one.

Americans don’t seem to want that they love the rackets and underhand deals, they love associates like Rezko and tales of misappropriation of money, once people are connected to that they seem to fit and blend right into the oval office.

We are screwed and its time we start to understand that, if some of us felt Bush was bad wait we aint see nothing yet, just let Obama and a democrat house be in charge it will be a fun time for all

#128 GOSUEF4HIL on 10.01.08 at 7:16 pm

texastigress- nothing is great about having balls- just that James Carville used the expression during the primary- I really hate to use it as a feminist but everyone seems to get the meaning and what I was trying to say is all of these politicians are wimps and I am sick of it- who is standing up for us? I agree w/ the guy on Fox- this bill is loaded w/ pork and there should be no room for pork if we really are in a crisis.
Someone should speak up and say lets cut all the crapola out of this bill, pare it down to a readable size, take our time reading it-

remember what happened when W gave us a bill 5 years ago, right before an election- re: WMDs and the MSM is equally culpable for playing the fear card- that’s why we went to Iraq- we were duped and I feel like that is what they are doing to us again-

A recession might be a good thing for this country- we are out of control w/ a casino mentality.

Wow, I am on a roll today…gotta go play chauffeur to the short people now,

I think its safe to say, the awareness is now out there about Gwen and her book. McCain should have known this way before today. Sometimes I am wondering if McCain is slacking the same way Hillary did there for a while before she fired some of the campaign people and took more of a hands on roll. She surged after taking that action.

Palin lit a match under McCain for the two weeks after the convention, he seems to need another match lit or more like a firecracker! He missed so many opportunities in his debate with Obot. Instead of hitting and jabbing he had enough to have a TKO and he missed it. I hope Palin does not allow her opportunities pass in this debate. Americans like fighters not passive submissive, polite people.

We need to prowl to Palin and McCain to get aggressive and win this election. I am not republican but I sure as heck do not want Obot as our next president.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John McCain is a fighter, a warrior. I know a Captain in the Navy, who is a pilot too… He thinks tactically. He then adjusts tactic according to conditions on the ground. The OODA Loop, Observe, Orient, Decide, Act.
And there is this nasty thing called the kill shot and it is is just that, for the kill. The warrior and hunter make the death stroke, when there is maximum likelihood of lethal success. No wasting ammunition. He has been taking shots, parry shots, engaging, making contact, and it is having effect that is irreversible. I got an idea what is coming, from the debate. The Obama campaign will be reeling in short order, just wait… John McCain is watching conditions, analyzing, taking in everything to do with his goal, and that is to save the United States of America from the likes of Barack Obama. And then he will act. John knows that right now, during an eruption of crisis affecting the National Security of the United States of America, before the smoke clears is not the time to thrust but the time to orient and adjust. He will employ the OODA loop. These times will be unlike any other. There has never been a time like this in American History. John knows this, and I believe the higher power determined that this was going to be John McCain’s time to do exactly what he was trained to do.
John McCain clearly sees Barack Obama and those behind him, as an enemy of this nation, and not just his personal enemy. This is hard, and the truth of it.
I definitely sense a groundswell now against the Chosen One who would be Our Dear Leader, I sense people turning away from Obama who were leaning one way or the other. Obama is just too zero… and humans have evolved to turn to the hero and not the zero. By the time John McCain is done a hell of a lot more than that will have turned away.
Please watch and spread this video.
ANTI-BO TV ADS FOR SWING STATES
From Democrats For Principle Before Party (the offshoot of The Denver Group)
http://tdg.typepad.com/democrats_for_principle_b/2008/09/would-you-buy-a-used-car-from-this-man.html
Excerpts from their blog:
– This generall election anti-Obama commercial will run in the battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Missouri challenging Senator Obama’s truth squad), Michigan and Florida and possibly more as polls and circumstances dictate.
– We also have two other commercials in production, one raising doubts about Obama’s judgement to handle the economy and the current economic crisis, and one to run specifically in Florida and Michigan, reminding them of Senator Obama’s position about their votes during the primary. There also may be a fourth which would be another version of the one showing here.
– …How many places we can run and how often will, as always, depend on your contributions. And as always there is no contribution too small. $5 from 1000 contributors buys as much commercial time as $5,000 from one so if you agree with our views that Senator Obama is not qualified to be President and that an Obama defeat is a must in order to reform the Democratic Party, then donate what you can.
———
DONATE !!! HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN !!!
The ad may be somewhat ‘short’ and maybe not the best ad, but it’s something from the Dems that can impact Dems & not the expected anti-BO ads from the Repub camp.
REPOST of Asian4Hillary’s BRILLIANT spot on ditty about WHO is to blame in large part for Sub Prime FIASCO:
I think Bill Clinton better be quiet, he has a LOT to do with our financia debacle. It was during his term he lifted remaining regulations for Fannie and Freddie. Banks had to give loans to homebuyers even if their income doesn’t qualify them for a loan, even those with bad credit history were able to get a loan to buy a house knowing eventually they’ll default in their montly payment. I remember Clinton in the 90’s telling the American people even those with bad credit history can apply for home loan. He was catering to minorities especially AA voters.
What happen in our financial system, standard banking procedure was never followed, instead what was impose to all banking institutions if they don’t grant loans to these new homeowners ACORN will SUE THEM for DISCRIMINATION.
Bill Clinton Administration has a LOT more to do with this financial crash in Wallstreet than GWB who is now sitting in the Whitehouse.
GWB warned Congress in 2003 to write regulations because Fannie and Freddie are padding their accounting books. Democrats in Congress like Barney Frank head of Finance Committee criticized Bush and stated these two corporations that are GSE are finally sound.
Black Caucus in Congress are the BIGGEST supporters of Fannie.
Who’s to blame? The Democrats in Congress and Senate, to blame GWB is downright stupid and idiotic in my opinion. Stop covering for the Democratic Party, to deny the fact is to deny earth revolves around the sun, not the other way around.
HELL FUCKING YES…..And Bill Clinton needs to shut his mouth when it comes to endorsing Mr. Blah Blah and I called him today and told him that. The Democrats are starting to look more and more and more like BOTS in general, and I am beginning to wonder if I am Alice lost in NObamaland…..
#146 Caribbean Puma on 10.01.08 at 7:24 pm
Oh please I have stopped making excuses for the Clitons I heard Bill say today that with this bail out the president will be tied up for the first two years and the VP will have to play an important role.
In that case Palin is not capable of fitting that role, she is not capable of being VP, that is not talking up Biden that is slamming Palin and he was on the media some days again saying people should not do that.
Once again the Clinton’s seems to change their stance at the drop of a hat or maybe at the drop of a few bucks
We have seen in the last week the level of thought and action that moves the House of Representatives and the Senate. They run this country..a bunch of sycophantic, arrogant, pandering, self serving fools.
No wonder such a mediocre fraud is a candidate for President. What is lower than mediocrity? Ido not know but that is what we have.
Exactly it was Clinton with his pandering to the black vote that started this low cost housing mess, no one wants to admit that but it stated way back then, when he was jumping hoop to give blacks financial security.
What do people feel they use to call him the first black president for, its all the favor and deals to give them homes, money for business and so on, now we are paying for it and I sure wish someone would open their dam mouths and call it as it is
If the media is rejecting Puma, then we need to still send our messages without identifying ourselves. We are still a force to be reckoned with and come November, they will know it.
Of the five addresses that were reported bouncing by many Pumas for today’s prowl I think that only ONE ( Chris Matthews) may have a filter that rejected the word ‘puma’. I tried sending the prowls without including it and Matthews went through. The other four bounced anyway.
#3 Bella-Me on 10.01.08 at 6:11 pm
Not to burst anyone’s bubble but….all our prowls today on Ifill basically was making everyone aware that we felt it is a conflict of interest. Now in saying that……
McCain and an aide of Palin’s has said, they feel Ifill will be professional and unbiased. They don’t have a problem with her being the moderator.
So after tomorrow night any whining or complaining if Ifill is unfair in how she handles it will be useless because both of these candidates are on record saying they are okay with Ifill.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The American Public will be watching Gwen Ifill very closely with regards to the conflict of interest, The people will be watching very very closely for anyone throwing the game. If Americans want to see one thing, that is fair play. It is why people cannot get their minds around any thing that is happening right now. No one wants to see what we are really seeing. But it is here gut punching us. We are days away from a Banana Republic and its going to start sinking in. This economic crisis and the response in Washington is a wake up call to the people and people are waking up.

As another Republican, I noted that what ‘fedupdem2008′ wanted was just another dyed-in-the-wool Democrat as commentator, regardless of the fact that professional journalists should never wear their hearts/souls on their sleeves. And the not so subtle digs at MMalkin show the mindset that any Democrat is better than no Democrat.

#69 ladyhawkke

The petition to impeach Nancy Pelosi is the cover for a petition to impeach Bush/Cheney. I’m all in favor of ousting Pelosi, but not because of anything Bush/Cheney may or may not have done. All backdoor/underhanded Democratic behavior should be railed against, not just selective portions of it.

ANTI-BO TV ADS

RE: The AD from “Democrats For Principle Before Party” (the offshoot of The Denver Group)…

- We need more and better anti-BO TV ads from Dem-citizen groups (like PUMA groups).

- Anti-BO TV ads put out by Dems, conveying OUR unique concerns, can have more of an impact among Dems (& others) than the typical Repub ad, which might invoke, “…oh, that’s just another Republican/McCain ad… what do you except from them?!”

- I’ve said this in past posts: …that PUMApac should raise money to produce powerful TV Ads for the swing states… and/or join forces with other PUMA/JSND groups to raise money for this and to work on this project together… I’m up for donating to TV ads!

> Check out what Democrats For Principle Before Party is doing… and donate! (It may be a rather short ad… but it’s SOMETHING from a Dem group!)

There was a great lil story on there about Obama’s not exactly’s (lies). It didn’t have the stuff on there that I know was disproven, so I thought Id make a page of it. But I don’t like to use sources that people will just ignore or say “consider the source”. Guess I’ll pass on it.

#191 NewOrleansPuma on 10.01.08 at 7:45 pm

All this pork in the Senate bill is a set up for McCain..if he says yes..what happens to that aspect of his campaign…his rejection of earmarks…it dilutes it..and I think that is also a reason why the Democrats put it in.

#192 ladyhawkke on 10.01.08 at 7:46 pm

#103 I agree with all the posts about the Clintons. I think they sold their souls. I’m not sure I could ever support Hillary again. The whole process drained me. I’m really tired of people sucking up for votes. Bush ran vile ads against McCain and he sucked it up, was pissed for awhile, but then he was hugging Bush. The Main Streets Rescue Plan:
http://news.newsmax.com/?K6O6.Yy7pz1xsObzisXlGBIHeQyetfRAK&http://perotcharts.com/mainstreet

This is far better than anything Congress came up with but is missing some of the essentials that can be gotten and reused from FDR’s NEW DEAL, like putting people to work to have an income to make the country run and to break the country’s addiction to credit. The entire country needs to be put into Credit Rehab and not to continue being Pushers of credit…………credit was the cause of the 1929 crash and credit has been the reason of many countries falling into nothingness.

The country needs to get back to operating on CASH FLOW and not CREDIT FLOW !!!!!

At this point Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are worth more than all the municipalities and the federal government combined.

My opinion is that the Pheonix needs to go up in flames in order to be reborn new and better.

“And tucked away in the tax provisions is a landmark health care provision demanding that insurance companies provide coverage for mental health treatment—such as hospitalization—on parity with physical illnesses.”

We all care about health care. It is – and should be – a part of future discussions, debate and then legislation.

But doing it this way is just plain wrong.

Did Harry Reid just say today that the insurance markets are nearing collapse? How then, I ask, can this bill justify adding a huge financial stipulation to an industry that – just today – Harry Reid said was in grave trouble.

I can only ask myself this: Am I, a taxpayer, as dumb as this Congress is making me out to be? I think not.

This bailout bill is rife with Old Washington sickness.

How do we get the full list of attached items, their costs and which Senators are responsible for them?

Listen,
the Dems are playing this fiasco to the hilt. If we do not rescue, the credit industry will dive and this will hurt ALL OF US. Please note that this is not a bailout as we (AMERICANS) will own the debt and we may even MAKE money, but that is NOT the point–the point is the DEMS are staging this to Mr. Hussy’s advantage and we cannot let it go there.

John McCain is both smart and prudent, he will do what he needs to do to get us to the other side. ONCE THERE, he can kick ass. Let’s help him get there because that life boat we are on — when it sinks — well we ALL go down!!

RE: GWEN IFILL’s BIAS

The fact that Gwen Ifill, who will be moderating the VP debate, is so pro-BO and writing a pro-BO book (and likely quite biased against BO) is of concern, not mainly because of what she might say or ask…. But because someone’s attitude and bias is often subtly conveyed in the body language and tone of voice… how she asks the questions, how long she lets each candidate speak, etc…. She can attempt to influence their performance (consciously and unconsciously) through various non-verbal means.

These are psychology principles that the media should also be made aware of.

They should never have picked someone who is so invested in promoting BO (through writing a book, etc) to moderate the only VP debate!

Whether we are disgusted with Hillary and Bill or not it will be to our advantage to have power players on the inside if we hope to take back our democracy from this shadow government. Hillary is probably in the political fight of her life because they know how powerful she is and she dared to cross them.

Officials Refuse to Provide Details on Secret Previous Bailout
Fed Made $30 Billion Deal to Manage Assets of the Collapsed Bear Sterns

By JUSTIN ROOD
October 1, 2008

“Top government officials are refusing to provide details on a secretive deal it made to manage billions in assets from an earlier bailout.

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has been pressing top officials for months to provide details on a deal the Federal Reserve made for a private firm to manage $30 billion in financial assets from the collapsed investment bank Bear Stearns, as part of an arrangement to facilitate J.P. Morgan Chase’s purchase of the bank in March.

The Federal Reserve announced at the time that it had contracted with BlackRock Financial Management Inc. to manage the assets. Since then, it has declined to share any further details on the arrangement with anyone – not reporters, not the public, and not Sen. Grassley…….”

#288 bythelake on 10.01.08 at 8:45 pm

Let me tell you how easy it would be to commit voter fraud in my area.

I just bought a bank owned house.

I phoned the election board yesterday to ask if anyone was registered to the house number I provided. The election board told me that the man had changed his registration, the woman did not.

I asked, how will you know if this woman votes from my address. Reply, we won’t. WTF? What did they mean, we won’t? They said that they could not remove her name from the address, she had to.

Well, I’m at least going to go the polling place where my new house is registered and check to see if she voted by checking the book.

Or, if I were evil enough and wanted to commit voter fraud I could vote from where I live now and do as the election board suggested and go to the new address polling place and vote. Guess what, sounds like no one would know but me, myself and I and no one here cares.

This is a serious problem statewide and probably nationwide.

To say the least I was shocked and disgusted with the entire thought and conversation I had yesterday with the election board.

Ifill responds to VP debate controversy.

“I’ve got a pretty long track record covering politics and news, so I’m not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation,” Ifill said. “The proof is in the pudding. They can watch the debate tomorrow night and make their own decisions about whether or not I’ve done my job.”

Ifill questions why people assume that her book will be favorable toward Obama.

“Do you think they made the same assumptions about Lou Cannon (who is white) when he wrote his book about Reagan?” said Ifill, who is black. Asked if there were racial motives at play, she said, “I don’t know what it is. I find it curious.”

Those who want McCain to vote no on this bill…. I think that isn’t going to be what he does. Didn’t he say earlier that he was going to vote yes on it- because he believes that small businesses will close and the economy crash without it? I don’t know quite what to believe on that. I tend to think that because McCain will do whatever he sees as right for America even when it’s against his own party OR the dems, well.. .I tend to believe that if McCain thinks this is vital, then it must be vital. I don’t know. Do any of you know for sure that this ISN’T vital?

I wish with all my heart that the dems would’ve been less partisan 3-4 years ago when McCain pro-sponsored that bill that would have kept this from happening. We wouldn’t be asking that question now….

LATEST E FROM OBAMA

Friend —

I know these are difficult times, but the stakes have never been higher.

If every one of us reaches out to friends, starts organizing, and takes a piece of this campaign into our own hands, we will win this election.

With eight states already voting early — and a dozen more starting in the next two weeks — voters are already making up their minds. This movement needs supporters like you to step up and volunteer right now.

The simplest tasks are also the most important and the most effective.

Here are some easy ways you can get involved today.

This campaign has always been about change — and real change comes from the bottom up, not from the top down. Supporters like you organizing and fundraising at the grassroots level will make the difference, and we have all the tools to help you do that.

Even if you’ve never been involved in politics before, it’s easy and doesn’t require any experience.

This election is too important to sit on the sidelines. And together, there’s nothing we can’t do.

Barack

Notice it is a Movement, not a campaign

For Immediate Release
October 1, 2008 Contact:

ICYMI: Governor Sarah Palin On The Sean Hannity Show

“It’s going to be a very clear choice that Americans have on November 4th. You’re going to have an opportunity to support a ticket that supports policies that will create jobs, or support a ticket that supports policies that kill jobs.” — Governor Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin
Sean Hannity Show
October 1, 2008

Sean Hannity: But Senator Obama has proposed an increase in the Social Security tax, the death tax, corporate taxes, tax rates, eliminate the Bush tax cuts, capital gains tax, and windfall profits tax, but yet he is telling everybody in every speech that 95% of Americans are not going to be taxed here. Is that possible?

Governor Sarah Palin: No, when Obama talks about raising taxes on the rich, he doesn’t tell Americans that 85% of small businesses will be impacted by his tax increases — that’s going to cost jobs. That’s why I look forward to tomorrow night also, getting to speak directly to Americans, without that filter of mainstream media trying to I think maybe censor some of my comments as we lay out the contrasts between these two different tickets. It’s going to be a very clear choice that Americans have on November 4th. You’re going to have an opportunity to support a ticket that supports policies that will create jobs, or support a ticket that supports policies that kill jobs. Now creating jobs means we have to reduce taxes on our small business and on our families and we have to reign in government spending — that’s got to be an accompanying measure — and we have to make our country energy independent. All of the things that John McCain has been campaigning on for months and months, and that I have been standing for as the governor of an energy-producing state in Alaska, or again the contrast is you can support a ticket that wants to increase taxes, hurt small businesses especially and still propose spending nearly a trillion dollars more in new programs. Those measures are going to kill job creation.

Hannity: One of the issues that most people acknowledge that you have your area of expertise on is on the issue of oil and energy. Joe Biden once said that proponents of off shore drilling want to quote rape the outer continental shelf.’ Why do we need to drill more and what other policies would you support towards energy independence?

Palin: American people are a lot smarter than what Biden is giving them credit for there. We are understanding that we are on an unsustainable path and we are relying on countries that don’t like us very much to provide fuel for our economy and for our cars and our trucks; and oil to heat our homes and places of business and our schools. John McCain and I know that we need a comprehensive, all-of-the-above approach and that does mean drilling domestic supplies of energy, keeping options on the table that can include that offshore drilling that’s safe and sound, and also alternative sources of energy and also stepping up greater conservation efforts here in America also. And as governor I’ve pushed for and championed the largest infrastructure project in North America’s history, that’s Alaska natural gas pipeline, that’s underway. We need to maximize recovery of domestic resources; we can minimize waste as we do this. And we are going to help lead to less dependence on foreign supplies. And it is scary that Senator Biden has not grasped that yet. He has had ample opportunity to support domestic solutions here and every time he gets the opportunity he votes no’ on all options.

Listen To Governor Palin

Obama Birth Certificate update:

09/29/08 – Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States, announced today that he filed his Opposition and Brief to Obama and Democratic National Committee [DNC] Joint Motion to Dismiss in the case of Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.

Berg feels confident that he has “Standing” and the Court will allow the case to go forward. Our response was due in 14 days, but the Court requested our answer by Monday, September 29, 2008 and we complied.

In our response we set forth sufficient reasons that I have “Standing” to bring this lawsuit. Furthermore, I set forth additional reasons that indicate Obama does not meet the qualifications for President of the United States and Obama should be removed from the ballot and held accountable.

SO, we need to regroup and refocus.

we were never working FOR mccain — we are working AGAINST Obama.

I couldn’t take it anymore…knew I needed a plan. Everything was getting way too intense, and NOT at all like the sweet anticipation of foreplay. It was getting to either that or eating a gun or a handful of pills.
Instead, i followed the plan… true to my name…. put on some soft meditational piano music with birds chirping and singing in the background. Some sweet Tibetan Healing incense…… A nice, relaxing, super hot bath with Lavender bubblebath…. and candles….in the bathroom and throughout the house.
Me time. For the moment I couldn’t care less about bailouts and elections…. life is too short and tomorrow is promised to no one. The path in front of me is a lot shorter now than the one behind me and i have to have some say over how I spend my moments.
Try it, my friends, and be gentle with yourselves. See some good and some beauty in the life you have, because no matter what happens, life is a precious, wonderful gift……..if we just take the moments.
mmmnnnnnnnnn, yes…..’me time’. Good night my friends, and may the Creator fill your lives with wondrous blessings…..muah. Namaste…..

Fox News just raised the issue of VP moderator and say it was appalling that she did not mention the book before hand. They say it’s probably too late to find someone else but since it’s now been brought to everyone’s attention, American will be on the look out for her bias tomorrow and that this will look bad on PBS.

#393 Seattlegirl on 10.01.08 at 10:04 pm

I am so sick of biased news and mocking, self satisfied, sexist, elitist people on TV. But my main concern with Ifill is she should be forced to take a drug test because of her broken ankle before moderating because when I broke my ankle and was waiting for the swelling to go down so I could get surgery I was LOADED. And you can’t take Advil or aspirin because they cause you to bleed more so you have to take hard core drugs. My husband said he would go to work and I would be reading a book and be on page 140 and when he came home I would be on page 45 happily reading away.

#395 ladyhawkke on 10.01.08 at 10:05 pm

The bailout vote reminds me of the vote for the Iraq war. The whole world was against going to war in Iraq but Bush just shoved it on us. And I distinctly remember calling Hillary’s office and telling them I was disgusted with her vote for the war. One of my Senators, Bill Nelson, also voted for the war and when he had a town hall meeting here, I let him have it. I told him Sen. Graham voted against it and he had no answer as to why he voted for it. Graham was on the Armed Services Committee and knew the whole thing was a farce. And so did Hillary, her vote was purely political and it came back to bite her in the ass by a senator who gave a speech and would have voted “Present” if given the chance.

But what really makes me angry is the fact that it seems like evil Obama news keeps coming up faster than anyone can deal with, before another big deal comes up. All of the business about ACORN is being hidden behind the panic of having to “save” the country’s economy.

I think Obama’s campaign seems to have a way of creating chaos and turning it all around to make it look like everything is someone else’s fault…even though it all starts with him.

I know some are saying they cannot vote for McCain but I keep saying that I cannot afford to not vote for McCain. His campaign is dealing with the devil here and the devil has too many supporters spinning it his way.

#428 Nijma on 10.01.08 at 10:22 pm

I always thought a lot of Gwen Ifill–she always chose her words and was so carefully neutral–and I never trusted Michele Malkin.

Seeing the clip of Ifil making faces after the Palin speech was a shock. All Gwen could say was that Palin was against BO? That was her big analysis? What does she expect? Its a two party system. So far. Did she expect the Republicans to bow down before the O-ssiah too?

John McCain has his justification for his vote. Take a look at the whole bubble. One vote and one bit of legislation will not be the final prescription or therapy for a prognosis diagnosed back in 2005 and beyond.
*******************************************
“President Truman was a student of history, and he knew how suddenly a crisis could come about. And while so many things have changed in the 35 years since his passing, Harry Truman would surely recognize the sources of the financial crisis that now threaten the livelihoods of millions and the future of the entire American economy. Only the vast sums of money would surprise him. But the costs of unbridled greed on Wall Street, the foolishness of politicians who fed the problem, and the recklessness of politicians who failed to meet the crisis — all of these would have a familiar feel to the man from Independence.

We are square in the greatest financial crisis of our lifetimes. And I am pleased to report that today, I will be returning to the floor of the Senate to vote on a bill that marks a decisive step in the right direction. The original proposal was flawed. I urged additions of taxpayer protections, stronger oversight, limitations on executive compensation and more protections for people’s bank accounts. I am pleased that these are being added to improve the original bill. It took Congress a while, and there were costs to these delays. But they have awakened to the danger. And today, with the unity that this crisis demands, Congress will once again work to restore confidence and stability to the American economy.

There will be a time to fix the blame for all that has happened — especially in the case of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the abuses and political deal-making that corrupted those institutions. But our duty right now is to fix the problem, and that is the business that will shortly take me back to Washington. Following September 11th, our national leaders came together at a time of crisis. Now, with this measure, we have another chance to come together to prove that Washington is once again capable of leading this country.

If the financial rescue bill fails in Congress yet again, the present crisis will turn into a disaster. As credit disappears, students will no longer be able to get loans for college, and families looking for a new home will be unable to get a loan. New car sales will come to a halt. Businesses will have difficulty securing credit for operations and may be unable to pay employees. If we fail to act, the gears of our economy will grind to a halt.”

Must appropriations bill originate in the House? Wikipeida:

Furthermore, the House of Representatives holds that the Senate does not have the power to originate appropriation bills, or bills authorizing the expenditure of federal funds. Historically, the Senate has disputed the interpretation advocated by the House. However, whenever the Senate originates an appropriations bill, the House simply refuses to consider it, thereby settling the dispute in practice.

Does this bill include an appropriation or is it just more deficit spending?

#451 VA-James on 10.01.08 at 10:36 pm

You know this whole talk about Ohio and early voting and people voting from multiple locations and they, the people, themselves, need to remove their names off the voting list. I think it was in Ohio, there was a clain the GOP said that folks from foreclosed homes would not be able to vote in that district. But once it made the news…it got dropped like a rock. Why would the people from foreclosed homes need to vote from that location? You mean that they could not re-register. I could probably vote twice if I wanted to too but I have to keep my job.

Greta did a fantastic job of challenging Mark of Politico about Gwen Ifill’s conflict of interest in moderating the VP debate. Mark must think the American voters are clueless when it comes to the MSM being in the tank for BO.
Kudos to Greta…………………….

The condescending attitude of the MSM, the DP, and Hollywood reminds me of the treatment that Hillary received during the primaries. Also, all the Puma bloggers that posted on pro-Cupcake websites probably remember all the nutjobs that were constantly attacking us as being a moron or stupid.

Governor Palin is honest. Obama has cheated in the caucuses with the help of the DP, the super delegates, and the lunatic media. He has committed the worst possible offense by stealing this election.

And PUMA’s – just wait till this weekend – hopefully Sunday for things to turn around one way or the other.
By Tuesday next I suppose this will take shape clearly and you know why — ALL the daily chores done here by PUMA’s is now the talk of the radio and Fox TV and to tell you another thing – If people didn’t know PUMA and JSND thus far and they were still not for NOBAMA, they are taking the initiative to spread the word around.

Here’s my response to the gretawire blog in reguards to conflict of intrest for tomorrows debate…

Gwen I fill will profit financially from an Obama, that shouldn’t surprise anyone. I can not think of any one who is backing Obama that isn’t recieving some sort of monetary benifit.

Do you really think Obama could even come close to winning this election if he he had to win it on merit alone. He has no merit, that’s why he has gleaned donations world wide, because earning respect and donations form the people of this country alone certainly would not have paved his way through the primaries, let alone his campaign to the white house…

If O.J. was convicted then recieved a life sentence, then it was discovered that the prosecutor or the judge was a second Cousin to Mr. Goldmen, who that be a conflict of intrest…. Or … Would it be OK because nobody on the defense or the jury knew about it…… A conflict of Intrest is just that a conflict of intrest….. This bull$hit about McCain camp not knowing about it is his loss….. Well that is the ideology of Obama’s, is why so many people don’t trust him…. Because if Obama is benefited by it and it is some what questionable as to how the public might feel about it, he’ll take the benefit from it. Then attempt to erase it (like the anti Obama U-TUBE add’s or his wife’s thesis, his thesis,or his Harvard education). In other what they can find won’t hurt me…. So a conflict of intrest you decide. IMO It is a huge conflict of intrest… But you can’t expect much more when dealing with the bottom of the bucket gutter slime….

LotusBoy, I have noticed the same thing: what shows up on this board and in the prowls is ending up on Fox. And the people are turning away to Fox. The tide is turning and the work is definitely not wasted time.

I used to feel like I was knocking my head against the wall all day long trying to create clarity out in the crowded message boards filled with abusive Obots. This daily prowl and mass messaging is working much better, even though I do enjoy taking on idiots one on one.

Did anybody listen to Hannity radio today? I heard parts of it…. seemed a lady called in to say that her son (I believe age 17) had been stopped by a BO supporter and got him registered to vote for BO. This caller said she had a hard time getting him to understand that he CAN’T VOTE yet…. in spite of them “registering” him. I wonder how many other underage people have been registered to vote by ACORN and BO operatives…. or dead people or pets. I also think what they did in for the Iraq election would be a good idea (but I rather doubt they’ll do it here)- mark their finger with a permanent ink that won’t come for for several days so they can’t go back in and re-vote.

It occurs to me that all the pork in the bailout bill may be calculated to make Congress reject it. Then all the people that voted yes can’t be viewed as not “for” helping the economy and Congress will look bad for not passing it. Politics is a three dimensional chess game after all….

Sent to PBS: I am writing to express my belief that Gwen Iliff should recuse herself from the vice presidential debates tomorrow (10.2.2008). I have witnessed her inability to remain objective several times during the primary elections. Having learned she has millions riding on the election of Barack Obama and the innaugural day release and sale of her book “Breakthrough and Politics in the Age of Obama”, PBS MUST remove Ms. Destroyer of PBS, Gwen Iliff, from the vice presidential debates and any future commentary regarding the presidential election. If she shows up as your “beloved goddess of corruption in the USA” tomorrow night, I will vote for McCain (on principle) and I will work 24 hrs a day to destroy funding for PBS.

They keep on using this “you’re racist” stuff, when real racism strikes, NO ONE would pay attention to it anymore. It has numbing effect on people. If you don’t support NObama you’re labeled racist.

When that happens, the ONLY person to blame is NOBAMA and his supporters. By using the race card against anyone who doesn’t support NObama is making real racist people grin from ear to ear. In fact they like it NObama and his supporters are busy using the race card against anyone who doesn’t drink the koolaid.

This is a big problem for NAACP, Rainbow Coalition and Anti-Defamation League. How are they going to heal the wound NObama and supporters have created in this election? NObama and his supporters just give people the RIGHT to label people with derogatory remarks.

If NObama and supporters has the notion their race baiting will end November 4, they’re WRONG. Guess who’ll get the full brunt of this, the Black community. They’ve just empoweredreal racist people like the Aryan Nation, Skinheads and etc. I feel bad now for some AA who do not take the A train of NObama.

Our phone calls are going straight to unchecked voicemails. Our emails are being rejected or ignored. It is time to take our rights to the next level.

Talking about inciting the skin heads: I am a librarian and yesterday, for the first time in over a decade, someone came in and asked me why he couldn’t find the Turner Diaries in our library. He and his girlfriend did appear to be of the skinhead persuasion.

Blatantly calling everyone who is not for Obama a racist, will have a very negative effect on ALL people.

Within the past day I read an article stating that the “training” Obama did for ACORN included going to banks and accussing management of being racists, while yelling in their face, in order to force them to give people loans when they were not qualified. Then the second point of the attack was a form of blackmail, they would expose the banks racists practices and cause them to be shut down, etc.

So there was Obama making his way up the ladder, using the word racist and teaching others how to use it effectively to get “change” way back in the early 1990′s. Probably earlier also.

I hope it all comes back to bite him because if it does not, it will certainly continue to hurt the rest of the world.

I’m just tired of giving reasoned points to people who will only respond by calling me a racist, including my mother. (Probably will never get over that one.)

I believe the article I am referring to was one of those listed on the ACORN list at Just Say No Deal.

My friend said on the phone awhile ago, her daughter would do it if they pay her. In short, ran up a discussion with 1 West African and another AA at an airport gate. After a couple whites disagreed with them, they came to me and right under the TV (CNN) I told them that press was for OBO and all the press is stupid. Made a few PUMA points and noticed silent people around that did not react or giggled inwardly or just feigned as if they did not hear anything but actually seemed to know PUMA stuff. So they are going to go there and pull the lever for John and make the Gwen book sell for 20 cents on Jan 20th… Wish to wait for such a day.

The person that takes the money gets some bad karma and reverses it by using the money but failing to vote to the giver.

ACTION :

I think we should send the video clip of the singing Obama kids to all our friends and foes. Do a bit of reverse psychology.

Say what beautiful voices these children have, barely 5 years to 12 years; how incredibly comforting it is to know that they love our future LEADER so much, that they are singing in their best angelic voice. Obama is right, we should start them young, before they learn to think for themselves..

That’s the kind of leader I want my children to follow.
They do that in countries like N. Korea, China during Mao’s time and Iran, countries like that..Go Obama !!!

You’re right, even Mexicans are not enamored with Nobama. Just today, a mexican guy came over to fix my dishwasher (water is not draining properly), I asked him if he’s registered to vote, he said yes and he’s a democrat. I asked him if he’ll vote for NObama. His reply was, “No Señorita, blacks hate us, only McCain for Presidente”. When I change my carpet last May, those guys are all young in their 20′s, they’re against NObama; one of them is attending college (part time) he said to me he doesn’t like it NObama is using the race card. There’s something that stayed on my mind, he said; “Obama give me the right to hate people that doesn’t look like me.” Scary huh?

#576 Asian4Hillary – Yes, I sense that repulsiveness and I am trying to keep people optimistic here.
And the prowls done in spanish, the OBO ads in spanish etc have only added their avoidance of the chosen one.
The chosen one does not believe in coalition (with anyone) otherwise I would not have been blogging here (HRC would have been the deserving nominee) But that is history. We have to keep hitting the points for 5-6 weeks until we get to the finish line.

OK, good night. Tomorrow hopefully will be a great PUMA day and the tide will turn if Biden will be himself (Gaffe machine)

Under Hitler term? or Fidel Castro? get real.
————————————————————————————————————
Tammy, please read this, it’ll scare you.

The following letter appeared in Letters to the Editor in the
Richmond Times Dispatch, Richmond, VA on July 7, 2008.
It’s well written and worth thinking about during this political season.

Beware Charismatic Men Who Preach ‘Change’

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice.
On June 30 I celebrate my independence day and on July 4 I celebrate America’s.
This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba and a few months later I was in the
United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day
is just part of the story, but I digress.
I’ve thought a lot about the anniversary this year.
The election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what
transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change,
and they were right. So when a young leader came along,
every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the
old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his
friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the
farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all,
everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all,
everyone said “Praise the Lord.” And when the young leader said,
“I will be for change and I’ll bring you change,” everyone yelled, “Viva Fidel!”

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner’s guns went
silent the people’s guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal,
they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received
their free education it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed,
it was too late, because they were now working for him.
By the time the change was finally implemented Cuba had been knocked down a
couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over
more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes.
You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most
fortunate Cubans. And now I’m back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we would never fall for a young leader in America, who promised
change without our asking, what change? How will you carry it out?
What will it cost America?

Would we?

It would be better to use the word latino…reason being that not all are mexicans…there are some puerto ricans, salvadorians, hondurans, argentineans, etc..some get offended if you call them mexicans…and some are hispanic born in the U.S.A…

#585 lilibet on 10.02.08 at 12:49 am

The term remains incorrect. I taught in Brownsville Texas for 14 years and would never have thought of calling my students or fellow teachers Mexican. Latinos, perhaps, but not Mexicans.

I can relate with Mexicans easily, my mother side of the family are spaniards from Barcelona. My grandma used to wear a veil with a comb to hold it in place made out of tortoise shell and she always carry her abanico wherever she goes. Growing up we always pray in latin during “oracion” then grandma always wake me up at 4am to do the rosary. Not easy growing up Catholic. :lol:

The bailout has no effect. In fact the bailout scares the shit out of millions of people, they don’t like where this country is heading. The Democratic Party is like a mother who doesn’t want to discipline her child, instead of sending the child to his room, she give in to her child’s wishes just to have peace.

Malversation of funds by private corporations will continue, politicians will continue lining up their pockets. What should have been done is to write regulations to prevent another financial disaster, but the democratic lead Congress and Senate opted to use a band-aid for a gaping wound that requires 100 stitches. This is the problem of the Democratic Party, they’re shortsighted when it comes to economics, they’re for quick relief but no long range planning. They’re good in delivering promises to people during election time, after election screw those promises!

Ron Weyden: 1 of only 25 Senators who voted NO on the Bailout. Here’s his statement:

Washington, DC— U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) issued the following statement today on Congressional action to address the nation’s financial crisis:

“The serious threat to the nation’s financial system requires Congress to act as wisely and as quickly as is practical. But that doesn’t mean Congress should act recklessly.

Unless we address the underlying faults in the system that brought us to this financial abyss in the first place, we may simply be building the world’s largest bridge to nowhere.

We have to make certain that at the end of this bridge is a functioning financial marketplace, where the profits of the few no longer endanger the long-term economic welfare of the many. We also have to be sure that there is independent oversight and accountability. There is way too much taxpayer money at stake to give one person total, unreviewable authority over how the money is spent.

The Bush Administration is asking taxpayers for an extraordinary amount of money. Congress must be certain that the Administration’s proposal is the best approach possible at the lowest cost to the taxpayers. I’m not convinced that the Bush proposal meets that standard. I agree with a number of my colleagues that we need a comprehensive solution that addresses the underlying cause of the financial crisis – the foreclosures on main streets and side streets — as well as the need to calm worldwide financial markets.

I also think that when taxpayers are asked to pay hundreds of billions of dollars for bail outs, they should get a fair return on their investment. All of the benefits shouldn’t go to bankers, brokers and billionaires. But under the Bush Administration’s proposal, the financial institutions not only get quick cash to shore up their finances, they also get all the upside return on the taxpayers’ money. Meanwhile, the taxpayers get all the risk along with a pile of bad debt that may or may not get paid sometime in the future.

Essentially, the Bush Administration’s proposal socializes the costs and risk of the bailout and privatizes the return. I don’t think that’s the best deal we can get for the taxpayers, especially when compared to the AIG bailout just last week. In exchange for bailing out AIG, the Federal government and the taxpayers got 80 percent of the stock in return. So if AIG returns to profitability, taxpayers will get a fair share of the profits. I will be looking at the AIG solution and other approaches to ensure that taxpayers get benefits and not just bills from any bailouts.”

…guess Senator Weyden saw that the AIG solution and other approaches didn’t ensure that [us] taxpayers would reap any benefits from the bailout.

I just left a message for my congressman. You can call the congress house and leave messages for your congressman through this central number

1-202-224-3121

I still don’t think the fox should have been in charge of the hen house. Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Obama, etc… none of the Dems have earned the trust or the right to draft this bill. The bill should be stopped and one from scratch should be drafted by people that understand the market and the best means to fix this. I hate to say this but the Republicans seem to know what to do better than the Democrats. I want the Rep. to draft a bill not Dems.

hey, I’m one of those 401K’ers and was hoping I wouldn’t have to keep working ’til I’m all bones (even though I happen to love what I do.) To answer your question though, that demographic is about 30-50% computer dependent. Blogs and online research, articles posted, etc. just don’t work for the seniors. But phone calls, flyers and especially one-on-one verbal communication is probably the most effective. If any Pumas can visit any Senior centers or retirement living neighborhoods in your area that might be a good place to start the dialogue.

Copy and paste the sex bill to Des Moines and link the text.

I’m one of those seniors and I think Obama is scarier than anything else on this planet.

Fact of the matter is, I am sick of supporting a bunch of people who have never worked while I have worked my entire life. And thanks to Obama, it will keep on for the rest of my life.

Could we please get rid of these people who insist on taking our money to support everyone else? I don’t mind a donation but this is almost a third of my paycheck every two weeks. And Obama wants to make it more no matter what he says. Just like Jon Corzine in NJ, he wants to get at your money in different ways so he can support the world, then he can be King/Savior/Beast of the world.

This is not the time to slack off and give up. My kids and grandkids deserve better efforts from this generation of voters. I deserve better, you deserve better, and so does each and every American deserve better than what will happen if Obama is allowed to work out his parents impact on his life by being president. Just because your parents and grandparents liked Communism and socialism, it does not mean you get to impose it on everyone else by lies, voter fraud, international financing irregularities and hanging out with known criminals who managed to get off and taught you how to abuse the freedoms offered in the U.S.

Obama would have been in prison years ago if he had not learned how to successfully cry “racist”.

Like his friend Bill Ayers, he got off scot-free. It is time that someone ended that and I think only Pumas are up to it. Everyone else is too afraid.

#636 sandipuma on 10.02.08 at 4:08 am

HillaryOrSarah i will say what i feel and if you don’t like it to bad. This was a News weiter and it is not racist. Whats the matter you in love with BO?????

#637 nhforhillary on 10.02.08 at 4:09 am

I think the heritage of a presidential candidate is interesting if it is doubtful. Obama professes to be black but most people would claim they were Arab/White American with his heritage…I don’t know of anyone that takes the least significant lines in their heritage to make it their identity. I have to find this curious. It is almost like he is using it for a purpose. And why wouldn’t he want to be thought of as Arab? Why not celebrate your heritage. I keep thinking he has some internal identity problem, its like he doesn’t want to be who he is, and is trying to disown himself…it’s crazy and weird. What’s racist about talking of peoples heritages and the countries their ancestors come from?

Collecting information to support sex ed for K

Does Barack Obama favor sex educationn for kindergarteners?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNqyt2vac4E

google: sb99 illinois

This is from John McCain’s website:
Defending Their Candidate’s Comments, The Obama Campaign Issued Document Citing Sex-Education Curriculum For Kindergarteners From The SIECUS And Oregon Department Of Education. “In addition, he issued a document showing that the Oregon Department of Education has guidelines for sex education for children in grades K-3 (which includes understanding the difference between a good touch and a bad touch), and that the Sexuality Information And Education Council of the United States [SIECUS] has curriculum for those in kindergarten.” (”Obama And Sex Ed For Kids,” NBC News’ “First Read,” firstread.msnbc.msn.com, Accessed 7/19/07)

Obama spokesman Bill Burton referred to the SIECUS as a model for age appropriate curriculm.

I recieved this in an e-mail, and thought why are we paying the politicians when we the people have no problem finding an easy fix for the financial woes of today>>>

What if?

Dear friends;

I’m against the $85,000,000, 000.00 bailout of AIG.

Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000, 000 to America in

a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000

bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman

and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,0 00 to every person 18+ as a

We Deserve It Dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax-free.

So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.

That sends $25,500,000, 000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife has $595,000 .00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads

Put away money for college – it’ll be there

Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car – create jobs

Invest in the market – capital drives growth

Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves

Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks

who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company

that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling out

a puny $1000.00 ( ‘vote buy’ ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG – liquidate it.

Sell off its parts.

Let American General go back to being American General.

Sell off the real estate.

Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t.

Sure it’s a crazy idea that can ‘never work.’

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion

We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.

And remember, The Family plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because
$25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Now this is a plan I can support.

T Bower

Concerned American Citizen.

the problem as I see it is not so much that he embraces being black as much as the fact that he abandons being white. he hates the white power structure of america. he wants to see that destroyed.

Bobby Fischer is a classic example of a person who was half jewish and hated jews with an uncontrollable verbal passion. Something snaps in some people. obama lives in a fantacy world. I like the description of him being narcissistic personality disorder. that seems to hit him. hitler and other world leaders of destruction had the same narcissistic personality disorder. he is the most dangerous person possible. imagine if hitler were leader of america.

Does Obama have NPD?

#653 stoney42 on 10.02.08 at 6:57 am

When does the House vote on the bill?

#654 ladyhawkke on 10.02.08 at 6:58 am

I just faxed Sen Nelson (FL) and thanked him for voting against the bailout bill. I am disappointed in McCain, I think as a supposed maverick he should have stood his ground. The bill is laden with pork. The reason this bill even came up in the senate is because Hillary suggested it. I’m disgusted with all the candidates but am forced to vote for McCain to keep Obama out.

#653 Slyt2 Also, what about Biden’s gaffe on the 1929 crisis being on tv? The media is in the tank for the Dems. I just hope Sarah does well tonight, she looked like a scared rabbit on Couri’s show. I don’t understand why she keeps going back and don’t know why McCain had to be with her. I believe she needs to know the facts but still Sarah needs to be Sarah. They are trying to “washingtonize” her and that is not what got her where she is today.

#655 ladyhawkke on 10.02.08 at 6:59 am

#655 Stoney42 I believe I heard that it was at 9:am this morning. I already faxed my congressman and told him to vote no.

#656 GoHillaryGo on 10.02.08 at 6:59 am

No one has asked Obama what newspapers he reads ot keep informed. that question was a low blow set up on Palin. What a super dirty question. no matter how she answered she would lose.

#657 bythelake on 10.02.08 at 7:03 am

The house is not suppose to vote until noon tomorrow.

#658 1gypsy4mc on 10.02.08 at 7:06 am

ladyhawkke The Bailout was a “gotcha” on McCain because part or most of his original bill to control Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac is in the new proposed one. He would have had to vote against himself.

I honestly don’t think Pelosi will allow this to go ahead the way it is though. I’m so confused!!

#659 slyt2 on 10.02.08 at 7:07 am

Oh I know ladyhawkke it makes you sick, I only heard about the tv gaffe on fox news and only heard it one day. They all say that’s Joe he is know for saying goofy things like that. Did anyone hear what that Gwen said last nite about the her being the host for tonights debate.?

#660 Headclunker on 10.02.08 at 7:08 am

SLY BOOTS

So, tonight Palin will debate Biden with a BO biased moderator and it looks like the Pork Bill will pass. Is everybody disappointed in McCain? I say yet to be seen. Consider:

There has been enough attention placed on the moderator so that if she favors Biden, people will cry “foul” on the whole deal.

The Pork bill makes it more necessary to have a president who will minimize the abuses.

Have a nice day.

#661 stoney42 on 10.02.08 at 7:09 am

1gypsy4mc

I think everyone is confused – including the members of Congress.

#662 ontherocks on 10.02.08 at 7:13 am

I LOVE good old Fred.
CBS cut him off when started talking about Gwen’s book.
How funny is that. She kept trying to cut him off and saying we have to go and he just kept on talking. Asking about Gwen’s book and how maybe CBS should show some of his mistakes Biden had made?

GOOD MORNING PUMAs!!!!!

#663 1gypsy4mc on 10.02.08 at 7:13 am

stoney42 Well, I have to work again today, but after that I’m going to be working even harder. Even the news said yesterday that the country is going socialist. I still have alot of prowls to complete and I do some of my own every morning before going to work.

Nothing’s going to be decided on the Bailout until tomorrow, which will deminish anything Palin or Biden do tonight and the people will forget about it.

#664 murphy on 10.02.08 at 7:14 am

major confusion ahead today Folks.

Here’s a flashback, 9 years ago:
Fannie Mae gets more generous.

It occurs to me that the basis of all this is PC-ism.

PC lending is as disastrous as PC-anything.

Congress-mandated lending to PC borrowing categories has had the same effect on the financial world that PC-speak has had on language, education and politics: degradation and destruction. As soon as you make circumlocution and avoidance of good judgment the basis for decisions and principles, you are in a steep power dive towards the cold, hard ground.
