No bailout should be made until further investigations have been made. This money will not solve the current crisis. It is like putting a band aid on a bleeding artery. Until the people are held accountable and punished for the corruption this is only going to repeat itself. Where is the paragraph in this bill that will give any money to the taxpayer who is struggling to keep their homes out of foreclosure? Where is the help to the taxpayer who has lost their job and who is close to bankruptcy due to the predatory lenders? Why are the victims of this crisis being the ones responsible to bail out the criminals? This bailout should have more transparency, we should use outside panels to oversee this money and not the current people involved. They are the same ones who caused this mess. There should be no parachutes of any sort. We want to see prosecutions on all those involved with this crisis. I strongly urge you to vote NO on this bill today. I feel you supporting it will be political suicide. We the taxpayers will remember those who vote for this bailout to help their own political career. In an imaginary world where liberal journalists are held to the same standards as everyone else, Ms. Ifill would be required to make a full disclosure at the start of the debate (or recuse herself entirely).
