Being a Rebel Is Not for the Faint of Heart

I just read what I think is an extremely insightful point in an email. The writer, a very smart guy with a LONG memory says,

“ We need to identify ourselves as from the Clinton wing of the party, and continually point out that we represent the base. As writer Michael Lind points out, the Northern “liberal” wing [of the Democratic Party] has Ivy League leadership mills. But populist economic Democrats are nearly WITHOUT LEADERS, except for the random exceptions like and Bill and Hillary. Except for the fluke of skin color, we’d have close to 2/3 of the party on our side this time — even though most of the party leadership defines itself in opposition to us.”

(emphasis mine)

Here’s the thing — the Obama Movement started a civil war in our party. Led by elitists from the “Ivy League leadership mills” (love that phrase), they systematically identified those blocs resistant to their message (that’d be us) and excised them one by one. The idea was that they’d secure the nomination with the SLIMMEST of majorities and then worry about the consequences after. Rural whites? Out! Women over 35? Out! Florida and Michigan? Out! Basically it boils down to Donna Brazile’s famous line: “Message to the base: Stay home.”

The upside to a scorched earth primary strategy was that the Obama message would be unequivocally left-wing and progressive. Hard core opposed to the war; staunch opposition to FISA; resolute opposition to “politics as usual.” Yes, yes, WE know that it was all hooey and that Obama himself contradicted and betrayed his base as soon as Hillary was effectively knee-capped and had to hobble off the field. But, by then it was too late. Obama’s followers were in for the long haul. There is no looking back for the Blogger Boiz, the Ivy Leaguers, and the rest of Whole Foods Nation. Those he persuaded with his message were REALLY, REALLY persuaded. They became his most loyal and permanent followers (think Markos and Josh and Olbermann).

The downside, the danger Obama courted by using a Divide and Conquer strategy, was that he might seriously alienate millions of Democrats whose votes he’d need in November to win. But that was a gamble they made. Their belief was that we’d come around. Women would be sufficiently subdued with the Roe bat to pull the lever for Obama on Election Day. Rural and lower working class whites would be sufficiently afraid of the economic threats of recession, foreclosure, and layoffs to vote against the Republicans and their dismal record. In other words, we’d have nowhere else to go. Of course we’d come around.

But here’s the thing, and it’s why I always say we are the ones no one was expecting: the Obama Movement was both right about us AND wrong. At the same time. They’re right, WE HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO GO! We will NOT vote for Barack Obama, BUT we know the Republican Party is not our home — it’s not even a nice vacation cottage. That’s the main reason we Pumas are so out of sorts and discouraged lately. We really AREN’T closet Republicans (Message to the Republicans: Stay on your side of the yard! Just kidding. Sort of.) For some of us, voting against the DONC and Obama by voting in protest for McCain is as easy as pie. These are the moderate-to-conservative Democrats for whom the tenets of Whole Foods Nation are anathema. But for another huge part of our Puma base, voting for McCain is an excruciatingly difficult thing to do — so hard that many of us just won’t be able to do it. These are the moderate-to-liberal Democrats for whom the tenets of Whole Foods Nation are pretty much a-okay! But they’re still not voting for McCain — Pumas in this camp will vote third party or write-in or stay home.

It is more important than ever that we stay united as Pumas. Remember what my email friend said: “Populist economic Democrats are nearly WITHOUT LEADERS”! We know who we are. We know it in our bones that Obama is wrong for our country and even more wrong for our Party. But we DON’T know who’s in charge. Hillary’s back in the Senate, sidelined from national leadership. Bill’s direct influence is limited on all official sides by the DONC, which wants above all else to KEEP BILL CLINTON CONTAINED! So, if we feel rudderless, it’s because we are. This is what the Obama Movement was wrong about. We know we have nowhere else to go, but we also know just as sure as can be that we are NOT going back to the DONC.

So, look in the mirror and face the facts. There are no leaders here. There is no politician or public figure who can sit for us at the table of national power and speak for us or represent our interests. Hillary’s on Capitol Hill mulling her next moves and brooding over what happened. Bill is being Bill (which is a very good thing, but his days of being President are over). We have only ourselves to rely on. This is THE most difficult phase of our movement, while we watch the national election play out without our enthusiastic or whole-hearted participation. Some of us have found, and will continue to find it too tempting not to just jump on the McCain bandwagon. That’s VERY understandable. You can still be a Puma if you’re also a Democrat working for McCain. It’s okay.

The rest of us are discouraged, lonely, and feeling useless. Working for local congressional candidates is a very good thing to do, but it just doesn’t have the Zing and the Rush of a Presidential campaign. But, if we allow our sense of loss and isolation to fuel attacks on each other WE ARE SUNK. Let’s remind ourselves that, as Democrats, we are BY DEFINITION a motley rag-tag group. We are working class, diverse, and far-flung. We found out this year that the DNC doesn’t care about us and would MUCH rawther carry on without our participation or even our votes.

So Puma PAC, if we want to have a leader we’ll have to create one from within. We will have to stay united with each other, with the clear-eyed acceptance that we represent a VAST range of different lifestyles and backgrounds, from really quite conservative all the way to fringe hippie peace-nik free-lovers. Our common and precious shared goal is a love for democracy, fair play, and a level playing field for all citizens — rich or poor, black or white or yellow or brown, woman or man.

When we decided to revolt against the DONC and Obama and every Democrat who shrieks “STUPID RACIST UGLY OLD FAT IGNORANT HYSTERICAL RACIST BITCH” at us; when we committed ourselves to NOT COMING AROUND, we set ourselves on a long and lonely road of rebellion. This will take TIME. But, most importantly, it will take UNITY. That is the secret to Obama’s success. He divided us. Let’s NOT continue his work for him. Let’s recommit ourselves to unity with each other.

No to Obama. Yes to Puma.

If you want to send a letter to encourage the Republican’s to not let ACORN though on the bailout, you can fax for free either using my letter below or your own.

House Republican Leader John Boehner fax number;
Fax: (202) 225-0704

Letter:

Dear House Republican Leader John Boehner,

Thank you for sticking up for the American taxpayers by not letting the Democrats push ACORN earmarks on us.
I am a PUMA (Hillary Clinton supporter), a life long Democrat and I am neither voting for Senator Obama nor do I support the corruption caused in the primary by Obama, the DNC and ACORN voter fraud.

Please stick to your guns on this and don’t give an inch.
This year, the Republican’s are the good guys and the Democratic Party I have supported all my life is shameful.

I know, I read your post downstairs, posted here, and then read your piece… excellent. Thank you for putting words to this low grade anxiety and lack of balance I’ve been experiencing.

PS I take exception to the whole foods nation label and class generalizations. As you’ve said, in so many words and different way, we aren’t a monolithic , one-mind, group think movement. We’re inclusive and that includes high school dropouts and ivy league graduates, aldis and whole foods shoppers, latte sippers and nescafe slurpers, unemployed, working class, creative class, middle class, upperclass, no class, etc. Just saying…

REPOST
To be hand delivered:September 27, 2008

Dear Representative Tsongas,
Dear Senator Kennedy,
Dear Senator Kerry,

We demand that Congress stops adding earmarks and pork within the contents of the “Bail Out Bill”. In addition we do not want a payout to ACORN.

We feel this is an egregious abuse of House and the Senate positions in Congress. Enough is enough.

We will no longer continue to vote or support any Representative or Senator who votes for bills with earmarks and pork or allots money to ACORN.

This is despicable! Your jobs are on the line, this is a betrayal of trust! I no longer trust the Democrats, you make the Republicans look like choir boys!!!
November 4th is the day you see, as you sowed so shall you reap!! SHAME!

Sincerely,

For the last week, I have been posting on http://www.topix.com/

Comment Stats

Total comments across all topics:

Topix is the leading news community on the Web, connecting people to the information and discussions that matter to them in every U.S. town and city.

I have been going to as many city/states that I can. In SEARCH, you can type in a state and topix such as “Colorado topix” and it will lead you to that state’s concerns and news. Or, you can type in Pueblo Colorado Topix and get different issues they are discussing.

I feel I can get to more undecideds on this forum. Before I went on any blog or message board, this is the place I used to go to for news and comments.

I have had over 300 opportunities to post what is below. The first post I swiped from one of our PUMAs last week and then added some of my comments. The second post speaks for itself.

—–
FIRST POST

As a Hillary democrat, I will be voting for McCain because of this:

“I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005,
S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation.
If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the
enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall
financial system, and the economy as a whole.
I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.” - John
McCain 2005

Legislation failed.

The failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could have been averted IF Federal Housing
Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 had been passed.

Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 only had three co-sponsors :
Elizabeth Dole, John McCain and John Sununu. For Nancy Pelosi blaming the GOP is
downright an insult to ALL of US TAXPAYERS!

http://beltwaysnark.com/2008/09/16/john-mccain-supported-a-proposal-for-an-agency-to-
oversee-fannie-and-freddiein-2005/

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=s109-190

Gee, and who did the now Government financed mortgage broker Fannie Mae give its
money to when it wanted to influence a politician?

OpenSecrets lists the top three politicians in which FNMA “invested” from 1989 to 2008.

Top Recipients of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Campaign Contributions, 1989-2008Name
Office State Party Grand Total

Dodd, Christopher S CT D $165,400
Obama, Barack S IL D $126,349 ($6000 came from the PAC)
Kerry, John S MA D $111,000

What about McCain?

The folks at Fannie Mae didn’t show him a lot of love. According to Open Secrets:

McCain, John S AZ R $21,550 (all from individuals).

Oh yeah, and who tabbed the former head of Fannie Mae to head up his Vice Presidential
search team? OBAMA, that’s who. Back in May Barack turned to Jim Johnson, former
CEO of Fannie Mae.

The Congressional democrats have ruined our economy. Bye, bye, dear party. I am moving to the fiscal conservatives for now.

SECOND POST

We are the ones Obama is not expecting.

There are so many topix places where one can post and get info out to people who are not necessarily partisan. If anyone wants to help with other issues, that may help to get the word out. I must say that I usually skip over long posts and try to make mine as short as possible.

Dear Editor,
As a lifelong Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter I am amused by the hysteria the mainstream media and my fellow Democrats have fallen into over Sarah Palin. Ms. Palin is not running for President, but Barack Obama is. So I’d like to ask these Obama fantatics a few questions.

Is it OK to nominate for President of the United States a man with virtually no experience on the national or international stage?

Do you feel it shows integrity to make a commitment to a friend by the name of Alice Palmer and then break your word, obliterating her name from the ballot?

Do you find that it is in line with your moral standards that we nominate someone who found it acceptable to remain an active member of a church that espoused hateful rhetoric?

Can you ignore the fact that we nominate a person who, as a state senator, avoided controversial issues by voting “present” a disproportionately frequent number of times?

Are you comfortable with nominating someone who has shifted their position on so many issues in such a short amount of time - including off shore drilling and FISA - that it is unprecedented for a Presidential candidate?

Is it acceptable that a Presidential nominee who touts equal pay for equal work pays his female staffers 83 cents on the dollar as compared to his male staffers? Really, think about that one.

Lastly, even if you were O.K. with all of the above, what if you were a Hillary Clinton supporter and were aware that Caucus Fraud took place in the state of Texas, would you still be able to vote for the Democratic candidate?

There. Now I hope I have answered the ever-present question the media keeps asking: “Why won’t Hillary backers support Obama?”

Leaders will emerge. Out of ashes, Phoenix rises. It is a government of the people, and we must remember the power we have.
But to get ashes, we have to toast this election for the Dems.

right now we can not have a puma president
we have to work 1 thing at a time
although is been said that female can do various things at once
therefore for me the most important thing is that obama does not get elected
voting MCCAIN IS A LESSER EVIL
for the DNC to work, and continue the legacy that once had,, the whole corporation has to change, and maybe something should be done with those that acted against the party ´s high principles, i am sure that almost all members of the party are decent politicians, the party has been hijacked heavens knows by what kind of web, and who in the hell is behind
but right now, in our noses we have NOV.4, after that we should star the rescue of the party, or start a new one, why not

I usually don’t have time to go back to the posts I’ve made on topix to see what the responses are, but I did notice this one just now and wanted to share it with the PUMAs. The poster thanked me for the fact finding, but the thanks goes to the PUMA I swiped this info from.

Good job on the fact finding! Be prepared to get a lot of negative responses for your post from the liberal left. They have a big problem with anyone who tries to use facts or logic against them. Emotions and insults seem to be the rule of thumb when it comes to the “tolerant” liberals. Remember, according to the liberals, if you are not fully supporting Saint Obama in all of his endeavours, you must be a rascist, a hick, a gun-toting psychopath, or worse yet, a Patriot. Thank you for your dose of reality and the great job you did finding these facts, and backing them up.

Hi Pumas!

Yes Obama succeeded in dividing our party BUT he will never conquer those of us on mission. Our mission is honorable and self-less so therefore a bridge to democracy will be forged…

#47 osaka puma on 09.27.08 at 6:26 pm

a mccain victory in november would change the dynamics of the PUMA movement ..obama leaving the scene would free PUMA up to become more actively involved as candidate supporters who we feel are good as well as an issue and reform oriented group … anti-DNC corruption and anti-GOP regressive policies..
but all of these things will require a platform and program that can keep PUMA cohesive instead of everyone going off and doing their own thing because there will be no more NOBAMA too keep us united

Not to worry too much, gypsy. Hang in there til at least November 4.

My friend in Massachusetts is confident Obama will not only lose, but by a landslde. He’s always comparing him to McGovern. And my friend is a staunch Democrat who thinks very lowly of Republican priciples, so for him to feel the way he does about Obama is something remarkable.

PUMA’s mission is really quite simple. If enough women vote for McCain/ Palin and not the Democrats’ selected one and his gaffe doll then Obama is defeated right there. No other demographic need we concern ourselves with. PUMA simply needs to convince a large percentage of women to vote for McCain this year.

I’ll take care. I’ve got a wonderful cat depending on me. You too, gypsy. Take care, be happy.

#60 ladyhawkke on 09.27.08 at 6:38 pm

Great Opening Murphy. And by the way, although I am not a Republican, I will vote for McCain/Palin and not think about it a minute. Country before party.

#62 NoHillaryNoVote on 09.27.08 at 6:40 pm

I am aware that some PUMAs do not intend to vote for McCain – and I respect that.

But for those who do plan to vote for McCain, I’d like to suggest that we make a point to communicate regularly on the McCain-Palin campaign Website. http://www.johnmccain.com/Contact

You may recall during the primaries when all the pundits and media were saying Hillary should quit and were writing negative comments daily. But Hill said she knew she had support because her supporters were writing her and letting her know regularly that they wanted her to stay in the contest and keep fighting.

For those of us who are voting fro McCain, we should want him to know that we are behind him.
- When he says or does something you like – take the time to go the McCain website and let his campaign know.
- When he says or does something you don’t like or that you think will push away democrats who do not plan to vote for BO – go to the McCain website and tell them what you think.
- When you see a lot of negative publicity or hear a pundit saying something that is biased – go to the McCain’s website and share what you saw and let them know you disagree.
- Share in your notes on the McCain website what you are doing to promote the ticket whether it is distributing fliers, or writing to some of the biased news websites – whatever you are doing, share that information with the McCain campaign.
- Offer input on things that BO says or does which you think McCain campaign should go after that may help attract Dems or undecided.

And you can do the same at that site if you have comments or suggestions to share regarding Palin. She’s taking such a beating in the media and I’m sure the campaign would like to share some input with her whether it’s positive or suggestions.

Let’s be active in sharing our ideas and our reactions so the McCain campaign has a way to gauge how things are going without relying on only the biased media.

Of course when you write on the website, identify yourself as a PUMA and state that you were a supporter of Hillary in the primaries. Let them know if you are someone who has always voted Dem in the past, but you are not going to do that this time.

If we can explain why we are not voting for BO, it may give the campaign ideas for what they can do to attract others like us or things they can forward to their pundits to promote when on tv news programs.

Think about it - if the McCain campaign is receiving enough feedback from the voters – they will be better able to ignore the pundits or the polls because they know first hand that they have voters who may not be in those polls but who are not voting for BO.

We may not be able to change many voters minds as much as we’d like these last weeks before the election, but we can certainly help the republican candidate by letting him know regularly that we are here and prepared to turn our backs on the Dems in November to vote for the republican ticket.

If we can communicate with McCain as we did with Hill during her contest, we can help to keep his staff & campaign upbeat and optimistic. We can provide them with our words to counter the negative words they hear or read on these news programs.

Instead of sitting in our individual homes fuming over how biased the tv media is and how our point of views are not being shared = let’s make sure we keep the McCain website busy with our concerns, support, suggestions, feedback and commitment.

Try to write on the site several times per week – even if it’s only a short sentence that affirms your support or encourages McCain to not be discouraged by the negative media hype.

And don’t forget to visit the blogs which exist for democrats who support McCain – and add a comment.

Hillary used to tell the stories often about the letters and notes she received and how she appreciated the input. We should do no less for McCain if we want to see him defeat BO.

Go on the site this week-end and send your thoughts about the debate. If you have ideas about what McCain could do differently next time, or things you think worked well - tell them. This is the time to be vocal and to show our support so it is tangible & visible to the McCain campaign. Telling each other what we wish McCain would do or not do is okay - but sending it to the source is even better.

Step one go to http://www.aol.com/

To vote for Obama more then once in your State on the Aol Straw Poll
go to wwww.aol.com/ then Internet Options then Settings and or go to Internet(Web)Options then press
Internet Explorer Settings on the upper right side.
Step 1.) Press delete button on Browsing History first
Then
Step 2.) Temporary Files press Delete
Step 3.) Cookies Press Delete
Step 4.) History Press Delete
Step 5.) At bottom Press Ok and you can Vote for Obama Again.
Once you have voted again you need to do this process all over again
which takes about 2 minutes.

#68 Lin4Hill on 09.27.08 at 6:47 pm

I agree, Maxgrader. The objective of the mission is simple in my eyes. Swell the ranks of the other side. Divided we lose the numbers that can make it happen. I respect that others have deep feelings and can’t go there (to McCain), but I hope there are enough PUMAs and independents who can see it as a tolerable means to a greater end…a chance for reform by the people. Rebellion isn’t for the faint of heart. You have to get your hands dirty. You have to shed some blood. You have to make some sacrifices. You have to take a stand.

And for me–the battle-scarred Vietnam vet with the philanthropic heart is worth some respect.

Is anyone here interested in ‘making’ their own button to wear? I know as women, many of us are pretty handy with our hands………….hehehe.

I have made a graphic that turned out pretty cool with a faded background of a fancy Obama background, and written across the button in front are just the words…

Caucus Fraud
Delegate Intimidation
(lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/

It fits on a 2.25″ button. Easy to cover over another button or peal off old cover, pull front off with a pin or finger nail, carefully fold all the edges in, pop the two parts back together and there you have it.

Not sure if anyone wants it or if it would be okay to go up on the Action Center or not.

———–

I discovered this little solution when I ordered 10 of the wrong buttons online and was determined to use them.

I know what you’re saying. I was involved in a world news online community for years… then I overdosed on politics, and distanced myself. Decided, for a few reasons, that this would be the last time I’d vote…
and then the freakazoids messed with my party, messed with our elections, messed with teh only qualified candidate to come down the ‘pike in several years, messed with racial relations, and messed with women …
and that meant they messed with me.

If anyone had told me that within a year I’d be relying on Fox for my news, depending on Drudge and newsmax for credible information, considering voting for a Republican Presidential (or any office, for that matter), candidate,
that I’d be numb to accusations of racism, and dulled to the causes and support of other minority and disenfranchised classes and groups, except women… I seriously would have considered commiting them.

Now… here I am.

I am here to stay- my hope is after Nov 4 we begin to work on reforming the party or building a new one but for now I believe our main objective must be to see a landslide defeat for Barry and his minions. Without a landslide the morons at the DNC, aided by the goons in the MSM will come up with some ridiculous excuses why he lost.
We need a landslide of Mondale magnitude.

I worry we will not get it.

The only way to achieve a true landslide is voting McCain.

I would much rather vote Nader, as I think he is the only sane one in the bunch but the reality is that would be a wasted vote. Not only will I vote for McCain but I will work to get him elected- I will phone bank into the swing states.

I am a left leaning liberal- which is exactly why I will not support this corrupt gaming operation this year. Although I am left leaning- I believe government must be done from the middle.

And let me say, those self-proclaiming left liberals don’t have a clue how to define themselves as what it means to be a lefty. Ask an Obot what makes them a leftist- same blank face and empty rhetoric they have been regurgitating ad nauseum.

The only way to re-build our party is to implode it as it currently stands- right down to teh foundation. Then let the people with a clue what it means to be a democrat- let them rebuild it (that’s us, isn’t it?)

I commented a while ago about how, all my life I have been a leftist political activist. (i.e. I was involved in SNCC when I was 14, etc.) How I believed whole heartedly that a rising tide lifts all boats, and marched, protested, sacrifice to force that tide to ebb. And, here I am, almost 5 decades since those activist beginnings, only to realize that the boat carrying women is the only one still anchored at the bottom of the sea; that the sexism and misogyny came not only from those from whom I expected it, but it came from the very groups we’ve marched with side by side, it came from my own hypocritical party, and it came from (mostly) men of all colors, ages, religions, and sexual orientations; and the women who have internalized that sexism, and who will alwyas align themselves with power… regardless that those in power will use and discards them when they are no longer of any use to them.

They can all kiss my you know what.

To swim against the tide is not easy, to rebel against our pary is not for the faint hearted indeed; it requires strong beliefs and convictions, it requires strong adherence to principle of right and wrong. I have seen thousands of people succumbed to pressure, if they don’t align themselves with the powerful they’d be lost in the sea of warm bodies clinging unto somethingfor acceptance.

Stay focus PUMAS, the rebels of today, will be acknowledge tomorrow as freedom fighters; group of people regardless of their background, ethnicity, status in society, bravely stand up side by side, hand in hand against their party who muffled their voices by telling them, “get over it, fall in line.” It was not a request nor a gentle persuasion but a command like a Gestapo during WW2.

Many would say, “I can’t stand Republicans,” yet, unknowingly, they break bread and share a bottle of wine with a person who is a Republican. Do you disown a family member because that person is not align with your political leanings? Would you disown your own child because your child does not follow your political leanings? It would be hypocritical for anyone to say, “I can’t stand Republicans.” Ask those soldiers who had been to war, if they ask a soldier beside them in their foxhole if they ask first what is the person’s political affiliation.

A lot of you may hate me for this, but I am one of those people who reach out, across the aisle because the cause I am fighting for is greater than myself or my political leaning.

I am American first, my country comes first, my political leaning comes in poor second, what about you?

#62 NoHillaryNoVote,

I agree with you 100%. I am a PUMA that will be voting for McCain. This is the first time in my life that I am planning to vote for a Republican.

I really think it’s a great idea for the PUMAS that are planning to vote for McCain to go to the McCain-Palin site to offer them support and suggestions about how to beat NObama.

I also think it’s a good idea to donate there and to make phone calls to the swing states so that we can help defeat NObama.

#140 deadgirlsrise on 09.27.08 at 8:15 pm

Wonderful post Murphy. We PUMA must always remember, we are a coalition of demographics united in purpose that the corruption and vice of the DONC cannot, must not, and WILL NOT be rewarded for their treacherous machinations. I am a moderate to liberal democrat and I knew on June 1st that indeed, what I suspected, was true, that the fix was in, and this dance of death will not end until it is over, completely over. After November 4th, when Obama is sent packing back to Chicago, we will still have to wrest control of the Democratic Party from the filthy rotten corrupt Chicago machine that owns it right now. We have our work cut out for us. We will be tried, our determination and grit will be tested. not just now, but for years to come. The best thing that could happen to this end is the defeat of the DONC and Obama on November 4th. These times are too perilous to let our nation into the hands of these evil people. We must fight, and we must fight together. And we have to keep our eyes on the prize. We are the ones no one was expecting, and we are the greatest roadblock to them achieving their goals. I believe a higher power filled our hearts with discernment so that we would recognize the dangers of this flawed and dangerous candidate. The better woman, the best candidate who would have won this election, was knifed in the back and neutralized. We must stand where she was forced down. We must fight where she was tied down and could not fight back. We are in this for the long haul. PUMA< do not be discouraged. Our cause is greater than we can even imagine at this time. We will not roll over, we will not retreat. We will stand and we will fight this. I am in it and stand with you until my last breath.

Good to have you drop in! As for just women voting, I don’t think that will do it as ACORN has been working on throwing this election probably since Obama started his run. It will have to be a landslide victory to defeat the Oba messiah and that will take ALL of us.

We’re looking at Germany in the 1930s. I’m very scared that our leaders seem to be complicit in this. No one seems to care what BO is up to. DEM leaders are trying their best to get his ACORN money for him, to keep developing his Obama Camps , his Civilian Army, and his fraud units. When I try to tell my friends and even my relatives, they think I’ve slipped over the edge.

The link to Dr. Kate’s “Trojan Candidate” was an eye-opener. A fairly long read, but replete with the detail to validate all the concerns about Oblabla’s past, present, and future.

Here’s my comment on the site, cross-posted:

Your comment is awaiting moderation.

Wow! Impressive summary and analysis. Your time was well spent.

But your description of Oblabla needs to be informed by some reading on the psychopathic personality. Intelligence is directed at creating impressions and learning how to “fake sincerity” and gaining skill at pushing those strange emotional and social-ethical buttons that the world of suckers seems to so conveniently wear. Glibness and even charisma contrast jarringly with a strange lack of real world achievements; everything is abandoned while “in progress”. As though being tied to facts and actual results is too risky, something to be avoided and evaded.

The core fact is that the psychopath DOES NOT EXPERIENCE the ideals and social connectedness that others do. He at first does not believe they exist, but later learns to exploit them.

Tell me this does not describe O’blabla.

Obama’s truth squad reminds me of the KGB.

It’s a little scary to think he can enlist law enforcement to do his dirty deeds. Where does it end??
———
Where does it end…. hopefully on Nov 4th. If not, we are in deep sh!t and it often reminds me of someone in Germany that wrote a book, riled up the public, got young people to turn on the adults and ended up as the devil himself. I hope this is not a repeat in history!

Thank you for that link. Read some, bookmarked (and will post to the action center (Elections and Sexism sections… sorry, I’ve been an action center savant for the past two weeks.) and will read entire article when I finish with a project I’m working on right now.
I did read most of the blog at The Confluence about the 30% solution. That’s a good bottom line goal, and I prefer a 51% or higher solution. As for the election of 3% solution for GLBT, great, as long as they’re all women.

any news on the lawsuit???????????????//
======
One day after Oblabla et al. had to acknowledge receipt of the court documents, Oblabla issued a statement saying his Kenyan citizenship didn’t matter, because it expired in ‘82 (when he turned 21). Which clearly acknowledges that he had such citizenship. Nothing yet on his (additional) Indonesian citizenship, which he had to explicitly and formally renounce with an Oath of Allegiance before he turned 22 — but apparently did not do.

On Sept 24 the DNC applied to have the suit dismissed because Berg “did not have standing”; under review, should be resolved fairly quickly.

If this depression hits the American citizens, it will be seen as because of them stonewalling for pet projects and it will be one hell of a lot longer than 40 years before they will ever be in majority again.

#125 You said it all. I was never an activist, but I admired Liberation Theology, for example. I was outraged when I saw how that was distorted by Wright, Pfleger, et al. Apparently, hatred of women is a religious dogma for those guys. Liberation theology should remain the provenance of Latinos before the Chicago ministry completely destroys it.

If anything, this election has compelled thoughtful people everywhere to re-examine ideology and affiliation in light of all the hypocrisy we’ve witnessed, and maybe that’s the growth we needed. Reaching across the aisle is a start.

Murphy, You are a leader! I think we should stay together as a PAC forever! We have much in common. I hope with McCain/Palin’s help, we can purge the Dem Party of the BO influence. My hometown paper says, based on a focus group undecideds were swayed slightly more to JM by the debate-let’s hope they’re right. There’s still a lot to do. Here is a link to Claire McCaskill, a minion for the ‘truth’ squad.

http://mccaskill.senate.gov/contact/

I sent her the following e-mail:

The Obama “Truth” Squad is despicable and a violation of civil rights. What in the world is wrong with you? It is increasingly evident that Obama supporters are playing by their own rule book, have contempt for American citizens, and are carrying out a political jihad against any one who chooses to not fall in line behind this very fragile and ridiculous candidate.

We are glad that Governor Blunt had the courage and decency to speak out against this and have encouraged others on the PUMA website to support your Governor for protecting American voters from the egregious abuses of the Obama campaign.

#171 Seattlegirl on 09.27.08 at 9:10 pm

Ok here is what needs to happen, Hillary could do it, if not her than who? I say she has nothing to lose.

This 7 billion bailout is Bull $h!t. It is more of the trickle down theory, it rewards the rich men who caused this crisis with their bad behavior and greed, Most of the money will go to foreign banks, we don’t even know what it is the government will be buying because they have lied and obscured the specifics, we do know that no one in the free market wants it. We can expect since it is run by the gov and Wall Street it will be a magnate for corruption, we will never see anything for our money and any jobs they save they will ship overseas.

So someone with some nads needs to stand up and say ENOUGH! No to the bail out of rich men. Now we know there will be a crash of the markets and we know Americans will be left without jobs so we are going to have good unemployment benefits extended for 18 months. We are going to have infra structure building programs to put people to work. We are going to have skills programs to teach people who want to learn a new trade, and we are going to have a reasonable insurance plan you can buy. Go to hell Wall Street. Folks we are in for a rough ride but we are Americans and we can take it , be nice to your neighbors, Let’s roll!

If something like this doesn’t happen I say it is time for a revolution.

I just came back from visiting my dad’s sister. Mom and I haven’t gone to see her since before mom’s hip replacement on Aug 1. My aunt is a staunch dem. I asked her if she was going to vote and she said yes. She indicated that she absolutely positively ABHORS Palin. Mom and I both asked why. She insisted that having a disabled child Palin should stay home and take care of it. She also said that Palin is evil. Well, she said “I get all my information from the newspaper and tv just like you do”. Well, for her there is no station except CNN, and the local paper has (for as long as I can remember) been strong far left-wing democrat. The more liberal the candidate is, the more our paper loves them. She, like most of the people in my area in the Fox Valley, hate Palin and Mac, and love Obama… but have no reason for doing so. When you try to pin them down on an answer they get furious with you (like my aunt did) and start the attacks. I am, according to these people, an idiot, a fool, absolutely nuts, and a racist. That is so depressing. Why can’t we talk sense with these people? Even though they HAVE no reasons for making their choice of candidate, they seem to go ballistic if you want to discuss it reasonably and talk logic with them…. sigh….

For nine months, we have watched Obama, the DP, and the MSM destroy our nomination process. Obama’s nomination has only come about through backroom deals-super delegates bought off, the DP turning a blind eye to the caucus fraud, the race baiting and sexism directed at Hillary, and the threats and intimidation by Obama and his campaign.

The public is performing the work of the media. We are vetting the Democratic candidate and they are deliberately turning a blind eye to his questionable associates, the dirty money in his campaign, and the cheating committed by ACORN. No one in the media is connecting the dots except for the American voter. This nation cannot tolerate a President like Obama that will govern like a dictator.

I do not expect Puma Pac to endorse McCain becau
