Katherine Q. Seelye in the NYT Caucus blog has a good preview of the debate tonight. She writes.
“A gambler by nature, and a more tactical debater than Mr. Obama, Mr. McCain took a high-stakes risk in trying to seize control of the debate two days ahead of time and throw Mr. Obama off-balance. It will be interesting to see how that dynamic plays out tonight and how far Mr. McCain takes that kind of brinksmanship.
. . .
Not everyone is expecting sparks tonight. Ross Baker, a political scientist at Rutgers, advises viewers not to expect the proverbial knock-out blow.
Despite some famous examples from history, truly decisive moments in debates are few and far between.
‘These candidates are very well prepped,” he says. “They are two self-possessed people, so the idea that one of them will blurt out some awful indiscretion or appear to be gobsmacked by the other is really unlikely.’
What is more probable, he says, is that viewers will be guided by subtle cues.
‘They’ll be watching the body language, the presentation, the tone of voice, the gestures,” he says. “They’ll be watching for McCain to borrow some of Obama’s academic approach and for Obama to find a little more of McCain’s fire.’”
Subtle cues? Sounds about right. Will Obama come across as arrogant and rambling as he did during his debates with Hillary? Will McCain come across as old and uninspiring?
What’s the Puma PAC conventional wisdom? Who is most likely to win tonight’s debate and why?

My finger will be on the mute button tonight! Just in case Obama really pisses me off.
“We’re not good at debates” – Obama lets out pathetic cry for help to the media – adding past bad reviews
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/09/26/were-not-good-at-debates-obama-memo/
That is just Oblahblah trying to lower the expectations of the American people so he will look like he is doing a lot better in the Debate. Typical Ovomit tactics.
Murphy
If you can, please get back to me regarding email sent from action center at around 9am pacific: “DRAFT”.
Thanks.
I may dislike a candidate; but first time in US Presidential election, I can candidly say, I HATE NOBAMA!
The following is an astrological chart for Nobama ( courtesy of AstroLabs ). . .that is assuming he was born where and when he says he was.
Name: Barack Obama
August 4 1961
7:24 PM Time Zone is AHST
Honolulu, HI
Rising Sign is in 18 Degrees Aquarius
You like new ideas and concepts, but you prefer to discover them by yourself — it is not easy for others to convert you to anything. You form your own opinions, but once you do form them, you then want to convince everyone else that they are correct. Try to be more tolerant of the opinions of others. You have a deep and abiding interest in science, mathematics, and the great social problems of the day. Very sympathetic toward the downtrodden, equality is your battle cry! You demand that those in authority be fair to all. You are an intellectual — emotions and emotional people are difficult for you to understand. You are known for being calm, cool, detached and objective.
Sun is in 12 Degrees Leo.
More than a bit of a showoff, you love to be the center of attention! But others do not usually mind because they tend to enjoy your genuine warmth and affection. Very spirited and willful, proud and self-important at times, you demand your own way. You are quite honest, however, and the respect of others is very important to you. You never compromise yourself and you pursue your goals with persistence and dedication. Your regal presence and demeanor draws you to positions of leadership and authority. But beware of being overly hardheaded, domineering, ostentatious or patronizing or you will lose the goodwill and admiration that you enjoy. Very theatrical, you live life on a grand scale wherever and whenever possible. Your strength and energy vitalizes those who come in contact with you.
Moon is in 03 Degrees Gemini.
Restless in the extreme, you are easily bored because of your short attention span. Your emotions change rapidly and you love to talk about your feelings. Generally, you have good judgment — your intellect controls your emotions and you do not overreact emotionally to things. A good jack-of-all-trades, you have many- sided interests and enjoy reasoning things through. With your mental agility and need for physical mobility, you are attracted to traveling and learning about other peoples and cultures. You have vivid powers of emotional self-expression – - you can be a nonstop talker. You love to share your ideas with anyone who will listen.
Mercury is in 02 Degrees Leo.
You are usually quite convinced that your own ideas are correct and you enjoy persuading others that they are. At times, you are very stubborn and proud of your beliefs and principles, and you get very defensive when they are challenged. You appreciate truth and honesty — you practice it yourself and expect it in others. You have good talent for organizing, directing and planning. You delight in being asked for your advice and counsel.
Venus is in 01 Degrees Cancer.
You like to be very close to other people. You need emotional support yourself and are willing to give it to others. When you feel unloved and insecure, you can be very jealous and possessive. You are not interested in casual or superficial relationships — only deep emotional involvements interest you. Your faithful devotion is one of your greatest gifts, but be careful not to become too dependent on others. Learn to stand on your own two feet and demand your own rights once in a while.
Mars is in 22 Degrees Virgo.
Very careful and systematic, you pay great attention to details. You are always seeking perfection and sometimes get bogged down searching for the ultimate when adequacy would have been sufficient. You dislike abstractions, preferring whatever is practical, useful and demonstrable. You have a strong and enduring sense of personal responsibility, and you demand that others be as responsible and upright as you are. Very critical of yourself and others, sometimes you carry this too far and become overly intolerant of others and their right to choose their own lifestyles.
Jupiter is in 00 Degrees Aquarius.
Your personal growth occurs when you have the freedom to do things in new and interesting ways — this brings out your natural inventiveness. You are an individualist, but you are also attracted to mass movements that emphasize social betterment and you will devote much time and energy to their efforts. Very fair- minded and objective, you have extraordinary skills at organization and administration.
Saturn is in 25 Degrees Capricorn.
Very serious-minded and mature, you have the ability to take on responsibilities and to carry out important duties. You can also be trusted to be extremely practical and thrifty. A good organizer, you are the ideal one to be counted on to take a clearly defined project through to its logical conclusion. An achiever, you pride yourself on your ability to focus your attention totally on some worthy goal and then attain it.
Uranus is in 25 Degrees Leo.
You, and your peers as well, demand complete and total freedom of self- expression. You want to make your mark in the world according to your own lights and will brook no interference from traditional authority figures, especially if they attempt to mold or shape you in any way. You are honest and forthright, but a bit offbeat and eccentric. The lack of self-discipline may hinder you from reaching your goals as quickly as you would like.
Neptune is in 08 Degrees Scorpio.
You, and your entire generation, are extremely interested in anything deep and mysterious. You will explore and idealize the benefits that can accrue from the study of the occult, healing and psychology. You are willing to experiment with substances like drugs in order to push your understanding of your inner being to the extreme.
Pluto is in 06 Degrees Virgo.
For your entire generation, this will be a time when profound changes in society’s attitude toward work, duty and responsibility will be initiated. Radical changes in attitudes toward personal health and general nutrition will be promulgated and gain wide acceptance and practice.
N. Node is in 27 Degrees Leo.
You prefer to take the leadership role when it comes to dealing with others. You enjoy administering and organizing group activities. Others tend to listen to your suggestions because you aren’t usually overly domineering or patronizing in your interactions. You love to entertain in a big way — you’re at your best when throwing a large and lavish party. Your popularity and social success are assured as long as you don’t take others for granted — resist the temptation to become snobbish and arrogant.
7th ??
personally, I’ve never expected much out of Obama.
JMc has a few tricks up his sleeve. I’m so excited!
I can’t watch/listen to this. My heart and mind has been on mute button since the first Bush War, through the awful get Clinton on something years, and then the last eight with Mortimer Snurd. If this cycle lasts much longer without McCain and Co. coming up with the clincher, I’ll be talking to the wind and singing with the birds.
Dances! good to see you — missed you today! will do on the AC email.
MPDamon! how the heck are ya?
I don’t know about you all, but I’ve had about all I can take of this BS. This is more of the same: pandering, posturing, condescension, and dishonesty.
The only person I believed had the abilities and integrity to lead and change the direction of our broad-spectrum collapse is out of the picture, Senator Hillary Clinton.
I don’t recognize her anymore, I don’t recognize my country anymore.
Sorry to be so pessimistic (or realistic, depending on your point of view) but I’m not very hopeful.
The two clowns debating tonight are useless right now. IMHO
Brit Humes on Fox reports that Obama is telling people to watch the debates on CNN
Maybe Dodd slipped ACORN into the bailout as payback for all the fraudulent voters they have registered for the Dems throughout the US.
After all, it must be “hard work,” thinking up fictious names, checking the obituaries, birth announcements, to come up with more names.
Fine Murphy, how the heck are you?
All those signs in Leo, no wonder Nobama has such an inflated ego. The Gemini may be why he is always splitting hairs and argumentative.
mpdamon, so which house of what is it that means you are a closet communist muslim america-hater?
and secretly gay coke-head?
Is Jim Lehrer (sp?) still moderating this or has BO replaced him with Blitzer?
GB PUMA or whoever forwarded the list to Murphy to pass along to me – Thanks. I was actually needing help finding contact info for all of the committee members, but since few on the blog seemed moved by the idea of contacting them, I’ll just let that idea slide.

I Love How This Guy Thinks !!!!
Finally a legal beagle sends a good idea!!!!!!! Subject: FW: $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG Subject: The Birk Economic Recovery Plan I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a dividendWe Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free.So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.A husband and wife has $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.Repay college loans – what a great boost to new gradsPut away money for college – it’ll be thereSave in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.Buy a new car – create jobsInvest in the market – capital drives growthPay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improvesEnable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or elseRemember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folkswho lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other companythat is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling outa puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts.Let American General go back to being American General.Sell off the real estate.Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t. Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.”But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom?I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 BillionWe Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC . And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returnedinstantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.Ahhh…I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
I’m well thanks mpd. I feel good tonight!
I have a feeling Obama is going to do badly.
He’s overtired. Distracted. McCain’s mind games have likely had at least some effect, and I predict BO will be off-balance: not a good place for him to be!

I plan to light a candle for the debate and say a prayer that the Good Lord will give John McCain the words he needs to protect us from the evil that threatens us.
I am then going to get comfortable and try to count the Uahs.
15 murphy LMAO!!!! Get Down, Murphy!!! You go!!
I’m going to get really drunk and watch it.
This shouldn’t be a good time for Obama to debate.
However, if he doesn’t do well, he’ll decide that McCain cheated . . . and the questioners don’t like him . . . and the whole debate wasn’t fair . . . and . . . and

In this election I almost think instead of being part of the PUMA movement…. we are more like a case of the X-Files from the Twilight Zone.
I don’t remember who ask for it but I think it was Anna7000 but here is the list of committees and members and some links that have links to each for the committees that should be dealing with the bailout. I don’t know if you PUMA’s know about Thomas.gov but it is a great site to investigate bills passed and what is currently being worked on and in committees……It is a great resource!

Re: ACORN
There will probably be some lag time from internet news to the time the general public hears about ACORN. That doesn’t bode well for Dems, since the public will be fully aware of ACORN come election time. On the flip side, the dead and animals will already be registered so they will be ready to vote for the Dems in the November election.
Can someone get jail time for voting under an assumed name? I think it is a major offense in other countries, but I haven’t heard of cases being prosecuted in the U.S..
What time does the debate start, Pacific time? I will probably miss most or all of it since I’ll be traveling back home tonight from a business trip. Hope there will be a video in the web of it.
Been busy today, but will post things I prepared before.
31 LandiPUMA
I believe it’s 6PM PST.
With all due respect, McCain has the disadvantage tonight. Nobama will blame the deal falling through on him, cite his sudden reversal on having the debate at all, and will be able to keep the focus on the economy, where he leads in the polls, instead of foreign policy.
The timimg of this crisis, along with McCain’s actions the past three days, couldn’t have put him in a worse position for the first debate.
Let’s not forget, House Republican’s squashed the deal, and McCain will be blamed for that, right or wrong.
Leiberman is proud that McCain brought the Republicans to the table.
#33 But, won’t the Republicans just blame the Democrats for trying to stuff bailout plan with unnecessary spending?
I’ll watch the debate on FOX…
not to start THIS up again, but
I’m aquarius.
natch.
erm. shouldnt we be watching on PBS?
oh never mind.
Everyone will blame each other, the rich will get richer, and it will just be SOS DD.
The reasons Obama lost the debates with Hillary is because he is not experienced, he didn’t roll up his sleeves, do the grunt work to obtain a myriad of knowledge, as do all the other junior senators and he avoids telling the truth. Other than that he’ll do allright. Not.
You know, they always said Obama was more knowledgeable on the economy than Mac. But after this past week, his jawing about absolutely nothing and looking like a child at the table for adults, I dunno.
I never really thought Obama was more knowledgeable at anything but getting out the vote. You know “in your face.” He’s real good at activism.
I just hope McCain doesn’t get mixed up with the Shia and the Kurds. Unless he has Lieberman under the podium.
#1 NobamaNetwork on 09.26.08 at 6:16 pm My finger will be on the mute button tonight! Just in case Obama really pisses me off.
What do you mean “in case”…that’s a guarantee!!!!!!
#35 Lara08
Absolutely! I’m not saying I disagree with holding off, I’m just sick and tired of this back and forth BS when someone needs to care about the country instead of their precious political asses!
murphy I know you are really busy, but if ya get a chance to check your email?
You are kinda a reflection of the song…This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-> Most of the tips are also helpful for letters/emails to the media, lawmakers and others… even for Website-posts!
—————————————
• Be Concise, brief. Avoid rambling sentences & big words.
• State Your Point or argument early, clearly & succinctly; in letter’s intro.
Start with– and maintain focus on– your most important point.
• Stick to a single subject & stay on it. One issue per letter.
• Limit the number of points. Don’t rehash points.
• Be logically organized.
• Limit it to 2 to 5 paragraphs; each one 2 to 3 sentences (NOT long ones).
• 200-400 words is usual limit. Keep to it! The more they have to edit, the less control you have over what gets printed.
• Let your personality show.
• No personal attacks!
• A hint of restrained anger or humor or irony can be effective sometimes.
• Know your subject; do research. Use facts, figures and expert testimony when you can. Readers respect the opinions of those w/special knowledge & expertise.
• Explain how the issue will affect your subject (ie: voters, the country, our future, a certain group of people, etc, etc).
• Identify the responsible person (the decision maker, elected official, etc).
• Offer a solution (re: your criticism, argument, etc).
• Include phone numbers or address of who to contact (for action, etc… if relevant).
• See it from reader’s perspective. Will it all make sense to someone without your knowledge & background?
• Close with a short restatement of your position or a pithy comment.
• Read letter to a friend, for objective input.
Don’t mail it the same day you write it.
Write and edit it; then put it aside until next day.
Reread it in a fresh light & you’ll spot things you didn’t see before.
• Know that your letter may be edited for length, content & readability.
• Hone your opinion-letter writing style.
Learn the newspaper’s style and audience.
Read other ‘Letters to the Editor’ in different papers to learn.

Thanks “Alice”! Just enjoy (probably not the right word) the debate!
Hey Sandy – I agree with you. I think McCain is headed into this debate in a weakened position. He said no debate until the crisis was solved via passage of bipartisan legislation, which has yet to happen. His role in DC these past couple of days does not appear to have been central (though hard to know given biased media coverage). Plus, I just don’t think he has much of a clue regarding economic issues. I fear Obama’s going to nail him, the debates may well be quite skewed as we saw happen with Clinton and Obama, and then the post debate analysis will be a bunch of Obama freaks touting how great he did. Hard to picture a great night for McCain when all is said and done. But, I tend to be a pessimist, so take it for what it’s worth.
John Grisham – author covering debate, says that Hillary supporters will come around by the time of the election!

This is the thing, the country has been going down the drain because of this stupid and childish fighting between Reps and Dems. It ends because we (grown up women) say it ends. Enough with all the crap from men who act like little boys. The Dems think they can get back at the Reps for the last 8 years by playing the same games the Reps did. Please! They need to grow up and think about important things, like the welfare and future of our country, the world, the environment, etc…
GB PUMA – Great links. You may want to forward them to the Action Center. And, yes, Thomas is a great resource for political/legislative info!
DancesWithPumas:
This list of tips (above) for writing Letters to the Editors is one I created and posted a while back, based on lots of research & practice… You may want to consider it for the Action Center (I forgot about it or I would have suggested it before). Others, including Murphy really liked it and she copied and reposted it later on on the day when I posted it before.
I’m aware that in the Action Center there’s already a link to a site that helps you in sending letters to different newspapers, but some people may want to have a guide they can print to use when they’re writing their letters.
Anyone know what time the debate will be on the West Coasters side? (Two hours from now at 6 PM?)
I will watch every word by both candidates…I hope McCain doesn’t have to go first on all questions like Hillary so the povertyPimp will get a hint on how to reverse his answer.
I remember that he came off as a SlickRick and not as a person ready to be President.
Hopefully McCain will point out all the “add-ons” that the Dems inserted into the bailout as the reason why delay is needed. Whenever someone tells you that something has to be done immediately . . . BEWARE.
We got stampeeded into a war, remember.
I’m aquarius, too, and independent as they come. I’m also a first-born.

I am going to watch it on Fox. Liberal networks talk over some of the debate — they don’t listen.
#50 Lara08
Who does it end with? Do you truly believe in either one of them?
I don’t.
#31 GBPuma
Thanks for the list – yes Anna had asked for it and I had been trying to collect the onformation the long way – you have eliminated MANY STEPS, much appreciated
Senator Graham has already mentioned ACORN.
Woot Woot!
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/09/26/sen-graham-mentions-acorn/
#33 heysandy
The Republicans squashed the deal because it was a boondoggle for the Dems and a Sweetheart Deal for the greedy mortgage lenders and traders not to mention the likes of ACORN and all the other earmarks.
If you want to pay for it that’s fine by me, but I’m sure as hell am not going to!
cnn.com/forum to comment on the debate as it’s happening. Go in and create a profile, the type voter you are and pick your top issue.
What I think we need, not that what I think amounts to a good frog fart, but I think we need a American Party really bad right now. Throw all the greedy partisan bums out and make em get a real job!
Maybe PUMA will turn out to be the embryo.

One of the responses when I posted the “Letters to the Editors Tips” before:
webfoot on 09.08.08 at 8:11 pm WROTE:
LandiPUMA,
RE: Letters to Editors – Another tip:
I sent an email to a reporter regarding an article he had written. He wrote back to me and asked me if the paper could regard it as a letter to the editor and publish it. I wrote back “yes” and they published it. Chances are the reporters get fewer emails on specific articles than the paper gets in “letters to the editor.” So, when you see a political article, you can write to that reporter. And then use the tips LandiPUMA noted above.
————————
Landi: Thanks! That’s a good tip.
————
I spent the day e-mailing and snail-mailing media, senators, representatives, friends, relatives, enemies,
anyone else I could think of about ACORN. I’m hoping that McCain brings up the subject tonight.
#18 Anna7000 on 09.26.08 at 6:37 pm GB PUMA or whoever forwarded the list to Murphy to pass along to me – Thanks. I was actually needing help finding contact info for all of the committee members, but since few on the blog seemed moved by the idea of contacting them, I’ll just let that idea slide.
It’s very easy to contact them by going to the links on the Thomas.gov pages because all the names are hyperl;inked to them.
TAX REVOLT!!! They can’t lock up everybody!
Hey PUMAs,
I did hear on FOX that Lindsay Graham commented about ACORN and BO’s affilliation (perhaps more so in the past, but definitely receiving the benefit of their dastardly deeds lately). If all these obvious scandals are out there, why can’t the American people learn of them? Are we shouting into the roaring vortex and no one can hear?
I’m tired of rumors of “revelations to come.” People are being threatened, intimidated, or bought off to shut up.
If there’s something really that bad out there, it needs to come out to give people the truth. To deny its presentation is demeaning to the thinking American.
Lately, I just shake my head in disbelief that people who appear to be reasonable and educated, or at least exposed to large portions of society’s diversity can be so duped. We already know which media networks will spin everything from tonight’s debate in a favorable light for BO.
I can only hope regular Americans can see through this charade.
#11 murphy
Dances! good to see you — missed you today! will do on the AC email.
————————–
Seriously, Murphy. Please, my evening is scheduled to accomplish this task and I can’t do it unless I hear from you. thx
Billie Jo – I think the debate is on at 6pm on the west coast, that way it’s in prime time all across the country. (I love the idea of watching it on pbs! Maybe they’ll be showing a re-run of a nature program and I can just watch lemurs for an hour and enjoy!)
#59 heysandy
I believe in us. I will not vote for BO because I am a Democrat and I will not be part of what my party did in the primaries. I don’t want to hear about how “that’s how the Republicans acted and so its O.K. if we do it” junk. I sound like a mother to a 5 year old when I say this, but just because someone else is doing something wrong that doesn’t give us permission to act that way.
I am getting together with other women who supported HC in my area and my hope is that we will form political clubs soon. I don’t mean weak League of Women Voters kind of organizations (although they do good work). I mean that we need to stay informed about what the Democratic Party is doing and we need to act. This past year was brutal for us. And we’ve developed thicker skin. What can they say about us women now that could hurt our feelings? They’ve toughened us up and now we need get in there (city, county, state gov’t) and be leaders.
gang of 4 decide what goes into the bailout.
Lou Doubbs is having economists on tonight to explain why the bail out is a bad idea
Dems couldn’t get stimulus passed today.
GB – Thanks for the reminder about the Thomas link. Forgot about that. Used to use that resource years ago in grad school. Time to flex that Thomas muscle again!
65 LandiPUMA I copied and pasted your tips for letter writing to a wordpad and then saved it to my computer for reference. Thank so much for the great info.
I am clutching my religion and guns and if Obama sticks his head on my TV it is libel to explode the TV tube. I like what I read somewhere about Castro promising nothing like Obama does and look what Cuba wound up with. 60 years of Communist bankruptcy.
Maybe I will pray for the angel gabrielle to blow his horn into obies ear so he is deaf. haha.
Anna or Murphy
how do I add those likes into the action center?
Obama camp called lying again.
Bill Burton, Obama’s spokesweasel and snake royale, has been harping on McCain’s appearance in DC as the event that “sidelined” the bailout Bill. Burton takes a quote from Rep Blunt that supposedly supports his accusation. Problem is, Burton not only takes the statement out of context, he cuts part of the sentence he relies on off.

Vote = Time to tell bush to stop politics of fear and to stop the largest gov bailout in the history of U.S
heysandy on 09.26.08 at 6:45 pm With all due respect, McCain has the disadvantage tonight. Nobama will blame the deal falling through on him,
***********************
Actually Pelosi is now saying that she does not have the DEM votes to get a bill passed. That McCain must be something else! He even convinced DEmocrats to join him from across the isle in revolt!
Pelosi’s statment is interesting. If she now says she doesn’t have the votes, what were Reid and Dodd doing telling the world Yesterday before McCain arrived in DC that they had a deal????? Could it be, that they were engaged in a cheap political stunt to make McCain look bad??? If there was a deal there was certainly no need for McCain to come back to DC.
And I also heard the today that the DEms in the meeting with Bush yesterday deferred to Obama, and that Obama made some great contributions – like asking Paulson point blank if Paulson was behind the plan. What? Did not Obama say there was no need for him to return to DC to address the crisis as he was in touch with Paulson at least once a day? If Obama talked to Paulson at least once a day, isn’t it strange he NEVER asked him whether Paulson supported his own plan? He had all those conversations with Paulson and had no idea where Paulson stood on the package? Wonder what he did talk to Paulson about…..
Anna70000 #71, that’s exactly what happened to me after I watched McCain’s convention speech on PBS. the next show was “The Journey of Man”
I ended up watching tv until like 2:30am. It was so FASCINATING! That’s how I found out that the kalahari bushmen are the ancestors of us all!

We only think we are weak because we’ve been told that we are weak. I can’t be too specific about this story, but I live in a city where there are several universities. The other day I saw something that I found objectionable on campus and called the office of the president of the university. I left a phone message and then called other offices (public relations, etc.) and when I spoke to a secretary she asked me who I represented. I said, “I represent myself.” I called at around 4:00 p.m.. I had heard back from the president’s office by the end of that work day and from several other university representatives by the next day. I am not well known or in any way politically powerful, but because of the tone of my voice they knew I meant business. Long story short, the problem was cleared up and I thanked everyone who called me.
Don’t think we aren’t powerful because we are.

Barry has Sun square Neptune. This indicates a drug, alcohol problem. Neptune is the planet of illusion and being in Scorpio he will try to keep his drug habit hidden, without success. He will use drugs and other mind altering drugs to calm his tense nature and each time his ego gets a hit, even if it is just a cigarette to do in a pinch.
His other planetary positions indicate a cold, calculating nature. I cannot agree on the Aquarius rising because I am not convinced he was born in Hawaii.

I feel the same way. I was a campaign volunteer for Hillary in my county. We worked our butts off and our county is Obama country.
After the primaries, we stayed together, the ones who were registered Democrats went to the Election Office and changed to Unaffiliated. We made an event of it.
We’re still meeting and are active in sending emails, blogging on the internet, investigating Obama, and next week I’m going to the McCain office and warn them about Obama’s campaign tactics. I’m going to volunteer my services because Obama would be America’s worst nightmare if elected.
I hope an Obamabot gets in my face, I’ll sit him down and tell him all about why I won’t vote for Obama.

Dodd and Reid said yesterday that they had a deal. No problem.
Then Dodd, Reid, Obama and others blame McCain for not getting it done yesterday. McCain leaves DC for the debate, and Pelosi says she does not have the votes on her side to get it done, and now they leak that they are so far apart that nothing will happen until the middle of next week at the earliest.
From Dodd’s counter-proposal to the Paulson Plan. This is how the profits are diverted to groups like ACORN. “Not less than” 20% of the profits derived from the govmt’s stakes in failing banks shall be diverted from the Treasury and deposited in other congress-controlled accounts.
Here’s the section in the Dodd counter-proposal, with a link to the full document following. Interesting reading!
Thanks to bs in email:
“TRANSFER OF A PERCENTAGE OF PROFITS.
DEPOSITS.Not less than 20 percent of any profit realized on the sale of each troubled asset purchased under this Act shall be deposited as provided in paragraph (2).
USE OF DEPOSITS.Of the amount referred to in paragraph (1)
65 percent shall be deposited into the Housing Trust Fund established under section 1338 of the Federal Housing Enterprises Regulatory Reform Act of 1992 (12 U.S.C. 4568); and

Now that John McCain has decided to participate in tonight’s debate, don’t forget to tune in and watch at 9:00 p.m. EDT.
This is a great opportunity to come together with your friends and family and hear Barack’s plan to take our country in a fundamentally different direction.
But before you watch tonight’s historic debate, there’s something just as important that you can do right now.
You live in a key battleground state where the race is neck-and-neck, so you can make a huge difference right in your own community. Will you sign up to volunteer on one of the four crucial days leading up to Election Day?
Face-to-face contact with voters is the single most effective way to deliver the votes we need to win.
It may be a tight race, but we have something John McCain doesn’t: a whole lot of passion and enthusiasm for change. I’ve seen it in the towns and cities I’ve visited in every corner of the country.
But it’s up to each of us to make sure we turn this energy into votes on November 4th.
Don’t let this election be decided by political stunts or distractions. Join your fellow supporters, roll up your sleeves, and help carry this campaign to victory.
Every vote is important, and we’re going after every single one of them. Now is the time to step up. Give Barack a day leading up to the election:

Supporters like you are the only reason we’ve come as far as we have.

SWING-STATES STRATEGIES ideas
— HITTING THE NEWSPAPERS IN SWING STATES
— AND *ALSO* THE LOCAL & ALTERNATIVE PAPERS
As nhforhillary said, It’s a great idea to hit the major newspapers in swing states with letters… As in Letters to the Editor etc.
—————–
*** Another good target: those local (usually free) publications.
I’m referring to those local “alternative” and specialized newspapers (or magazines), some of which are community or politically-oriented OR are geared to certain groups like Latinos, Seniors, etc… & are distributed all around (like in Coffeehouses, bookstores, etc).… & are usually free.
– Putting ADS in those papers is probably cheaper than in major newspapers.
– We can also write Letters to the Editor or opinion pieces for them.
– Those papers can reach a lot of people and also certain key groups (like seniors, Hispanics, etc… in the papers geared to them).
As nhforhillary suggested, We can also put flyers inside those free newspapers (or magazines), since the papers are usually folded in half and stacked in a rack or shelf (at coffeehouses, bookstores, etc).
*** IDEA for the Action Center: Let’s see if we can compile a list of those local newspapers and alternative or specialized ‘free’ publications that would be good to hit, esp in the swing states…
Cheers, I will also have a drink with you tonight. I will send you a wireless toast at 6:15pm pst. That means I will toast you, not post to you, just know I will be doing it.
Professor Miron from Harvard, not alot of specifics on what will be bought. Which assets, which institutions, and how it will be used is still up for grabs. There’s an extreme exaggeration, there will be some bankruptcies and troubles, but it doesn’t call for drastic measures.
It gives primarily New York banks money but doesn’t encourage them to get back into banking. They’ve already gotten money, do we really need to give them more?
Center for economic spending
The bailout might stem the panic, but it’s questionable how much panic there really would be.
Have to stop the wave of bank foreclosures, it doesn’t address this. Helping stem foreclosures shouldn’t be an afterthought, it should have been the centerpiece of the bailout.

——————————————————–
To all interested parties:
I am writing with a specific concern as it pertains to the current negotiations to pass legislation to fend off further financial and economic collapse. On Thursday, September 25th, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina was on CNN and other networks discussing the negotiations and noted that one component of this complex puzzle that is on the table includes an earmark for a the non-profit organization called ACORN. In sum, ACORN may be slated to receive a hefty chunk of funds in this bailout package.
On the face of things, many may not realize the troublesome nature of this as ACORN may be presented to the public as an innocent organization involved with housing assistance. It may be referred to as “Affordable Housing Fund” or “Capital Magnet Fund.” However, for those not familiar with ACORN, they are a group that has been involved with voter fraud for many years. As recently as last week an investigation was called for in North Carolina regarding several members of ACORN who are allegedly engaged in voter fraud in the Durham area. If you Google “ACORN voter fraud” you will get nearly 180,000 hits. The case against them is long and ever growing.
In addition, there are conflict of interest concerns. Senator Obama and his campaign have been heavily involved with ACORN, both in the past when Mr. Obama was a community organizer and served as an attorney for ACORN, and more recently in his presidential campaign when ACORN has been integrally involved in “canvassing” and registering voters on his behalf. The problem is, ACORN’s tactics not infrequently include illegal activity with regard to voter registration.
It’s criminal that voter fraud has been perpetuated by ACORN. To imagine that this group would receive a single penny in benefits from any bail out package is unthinkable. I want my money AND our voting system protected. Toward that end, I am monitoring the activities of our elected officials closely on this matter and hope the media will do so as well, particularly regarding further investigation of ACORN.
122 LandiPUMA What a wonderful asset you are to the PAC!!! Thank you for all your contributions…you and everyone else who devotes so much time and effort. Doesn’t do anything to effect the price of real estate. Turn over money and then your home will go down in value.

oh please………………..give it up Biden
Like I sad just TOOOOOOOOO funny.
THIS SEEMS TO SIMPLIFY WHAT BUSH SHOULD HAVE SAID ON TV LAST NIGHT!!!
Hi Pals,
I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We
Deserve
It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide
U.S.
Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and
child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals
$425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It
Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it’ll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who
lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is
cutting
back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of
trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that
is
being proposed
by one of our candidates for President.
If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every
adult
U S
Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t.
Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.”
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in
Washington
DC .
And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because
$25.5
Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Kool Aid and truth serum is speed balling. LOL
Thats what killed John Belushi.

The hills are alive with the song of mountains,…
Oh great! I got an email from Hillary titled “What comes next”. I just can’t believe this great lady is asking for money to help Obama/Biden, and the other dem candidates who are trying to push thru the garbage that they are doing this week! This is what I got:
***************
Dear Karen,
This is no ordinary election – and no ordinary effort will win it.
Every day brings more evidence of just how much damage the Bush/Cheney years have done to our economy, how seriously they have undermined people’s hopes and aspirations.
In every way imaginable, they have driven our nation off course.
For the next 38 days, you and I and Democrats nationwide have to stand with Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Senate candidates across the country. Working together, we’re going to give America a Democratic President and a filibuster-proof Senate to renew our country after eight devastating years of Republican arrogance and incompetence. All it takes is $5 from you combined with the contributions of thousands of others.
Click here to rush your support of $5 or more to key Senate races. Make a contribution before the September 30th deadline and your gift will be tripled.
You and I have to take big, bold steps to support our candidates. Today that means you and me lending the strongest support possible to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). Their goal is to raise $4.4 million before September 30th – and, if you act before that deadline, your contribution will be matched 2 to 1 by a group of my Senate colleagues.
Eleven highly-competitive Senate races are in full swing across the nation – and a handful more could easily come into play as October unfolds. The scope of our grassroots movement has to match the nationwide scope of this campaign. In every one of those races, our candidates need to know that, whatever our opponents throw at them in the final month of this campaign, we’ll be there to help.
That means not only confronting desperate tactics from Republican candidates, but also standing up to an endless array of attacks. A contribution of any amount – even as little as $5 – can help the DSCC win these races.
Click here to make a contribution of $5 or more. Help run a big, bold campaign to create a filibuster-proof Senate. Act by September 30th and your gift will be matched 2 to 1.
Don’t you love how John McCain, Sarah Palin and all these Bush-Cheney senators are suddenly masquerading as candidates of change? They helped Bush make this mess – and now we’re supposed to believe they’re the ones whom the American people can count on to clean it up.
When that strategy fails them, they will come after our candidates with an October blitz of relentless attacks. That’s when Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Senate candidates all across the country will need us the most.
Each and every one of us must be there for them – not just helping carry their campaigns to victory, but creating a filibuster-proof Senate that can help an Obama White House lead America to a more promising future. All it takes is $5 for you to be a part of history.
Click here to rush your support of $5 or more to key Senate races. Act by September 30th and your gift will be matched 2 to 1.
The problems America faces are deep. But, our commitment to solving them is deeper.
Together, our nationwide wave of grassroots energy will take our country back.
Sincerely,
Hillary
The Gallup Poll showed BO ahead by 3% again today. Looking over the trend, it is my opinion that a bias of about 3% was introduced some time in September. So I have sent in another comment to Gallup, as follows:
I think your presidential election numbers for McCain/Obama have looked funky since September. Are you are changing the percentage of likely of registered voters differently for the Dems and the Repubs?
I do not agree with your trends. There was a major change after the GOP convention in McCains favor. You can see it on all the blogs. The only state I am hearing about any demonstrable (signs/bumper stickers/rally attendance) is in California.
Obama is even artificially boosing his Campaign Contribution numbers with “transfers”. July he transferred $12.55 million. In August he transfered another $12 million. The DNC could not publish their Obama/DNC total because it was less than the amount that they announced for just Obama.
This campaign is so full of misleading stuff. I hope you will consider my suggestion to include information on the likely/registered voters by party.
159 shampoovta Yeah, they are !!!
#160 I got one too. I replied saying sorry ” I would do anything you ask except support BO!!
President Bush was a front man for the Republican Party, The power behind the throne ran the White House and in essence told President Bush, what to say, when to say it and a Reader’s Digest version of the policies and bills that he signed.
Unfortunate, if Obama win the presidency, the same thing will apply, because Obama never ever gives his opinion, on his “policies” without much forethought (speeches written for him to explain to the public his position on such policies).
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR

My Puma women, I am off topic, but I just wanted to encourage you to please put this on your blogs. I admire the work this one does.

The Obamabots and the media says that some people won’t vote for him because of race . . .but we all know that many people will vote FOR him for no other reason.
In addition, the Obama bots will be out in force voting one, two, three times and more for their messiah. This will be countered by the people who won’t be voting for him but are afraid to say so. It’s impossible to know how many people fall into this last category. Personally,
from my experience, I think it’s quite large.
Just got this email
Dear Friends,
I am pleased to pass on the great news that John McCain and Sarah Palin are winning church-going Catholics by 16 points, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center!
this is good news
Just wanted to say, I’ve been reading this blog for the past couple of months and it’s been comforting to know, I’m not alone!
Thanks!
Kat – Great link. Thanks. You are such an amazing resource of info. I always put on the breaks when I see our name pop up to see what you’ve got to say or pass along cause I know it’s going to be good!

********************************
Murphy,
While the legislation is a little cryptic regarding “Housing Trust” and “Magnet” Funds, if you look to the definition of those gunds established in earlier legislation (the Dodd Bill), it is clear that this is an Acorn scam.
http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/93xx/doc9366/Senate_Housing.pdf
Federal Housing Finance Regulatory Reform Act of 2008
Budget Report
Housing Trust Fund established under section 1338 of the Federal Housing Enterprises Regulatory Reform Act of 1992 (12 U.S.C. 4568); and 35 percent shall be deposited into the Capital Magnet Fund established under section 1339 of that Act
Housing Trust Fund and Capital Magnet Fund. After 2011, three quarters of the collections from the housing GSEs would be directed to the Housing Trust Fund and Capital Magnet Fund established under the bill. (Over the 2009-2011 period, about $960 million of the GSE assessments would be available to finance the HOPE for Homeowners program discussed below.) Deposits into those funds would total an estimated $5.8 billion over the 2010-2018 period. Of that amount, 65 percent (or 48.75 percent of total assessments) would be deposited into the Housing Trust Fund; and 35 percent (or 26.25 percent of total assessments) would be deposited into the Capital
Magnet Fund. The Housing Trust Fund would be used to provide grants to states to support homeownership and rental housing among low-income individuals; the Capital Magnet Fund would be used to provide grants to nonprofits and community development financial institutions to support private investment in community revitalization and affordable housing activities. Based on information from state and local governments and
historical expenditure data regarding community development projects, CBO estimates that expenditures from the two funds established by this legislation would increase direct spending by about $5.3 billion over the 2009-2018 period.
********
These “local community organizations” are already out there and dominated by ACORN. Here’s a little primer that is out there in the community organizer universe explaining what these funds are and how to use them:
http://www.policylink.org/EDTK/HTF/
“Housing trust funds (HTFs) are distinct funds established by cities, counties and states that dedicate sources of revenue to support affordable housing. Housing trust funds are usually created by legislation or ordinance. At present, there are more than 170 housing trust funds in the United States…
Housing Trust Funds:
commit public sources of revenue;
create dedicated, ongoing funding for the support of affordable housing; do not depend on interest or earnings from a fixed fund, or on contributions from corporations, financial institutions or foundations.
The housing trust fund model is an innovative departure from the way that dollars have historically been secured to support affordable housing.
Because HTFs are created locally using public revenues, they should be structured to address priority issues in a community. For example, funds initially can be targeted to fix up vacant homes for homeownership opportunities, and later shifted to address other needs. This flexibility in design is one of the most attractive features of a housing trust fund. ”
**********
As you can see, these scams are already flourishing with state and local funding (via mostly diversions of tax revenue). This was not a big enough cash cow for ACORN – they wanted the big piggy bank. And they finally got their wish via the Dodd Bill passed earlier this year. Not being content with a possible $500 million a year pot (they might have to share), they wanted a piece of the profits from bailout recoveries.
I am not an accountant, but the earlier bill added to teh state and local revenues they are already awash in is a mind boggling amount of money. Money that goes unaccounted. It is for charitable purposes, and no one dares to impugn the motives of a charity out there doing good deeds.
The entire ACORN operation is nothing more than an organized crime syndicate. A syndicate that works under a grant of implied governmental immunity via its work at the polls and its bully pulpit which is used frequently and effectively to denounce any investigation as racially motivated.
Kat Great link! Thank you.

I’m a little nervous about tonight…
Karl Rove said that it’s important that these men demonstrate how likable they are…probably, especially McCain.
I hope McCain comes off as strong, and filled with rebuttles, but also likable. It’s really hard to do that.
(my computer is suddenly a slow poke, so I’ll be a lil delayed now.)
iam i stuck in some ozone? – when i refresh the last post shows 8:27 – ????? and i had to relog back in……

I will finish the prowls this weekend! Listened to John Boehner on Hannity’s show, and he gave a great explaination of how the Dems were manipulating the bailout crisis. I agree with him that Wall Street needs to be held accountable with protections built in for tax payers, homeowners, etc. I can’t believe that I’m agreeing with Hannity, Rush, Coulter, etc. But, Obama is a game changer for me. Unfit to lead….
Just made 20 calls on behalf of the McCain campaign to OH, and most people weren’t home. However, the ones that I reached were voting for McCain or they were undecided.
Signing off and waiting for the debates………
Go Team McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think the guest list for tonight may exceed murphy’s expectations – i think we all are here.
Kat – Per post 176 – Yup. That’s a tall order: strong yet likable. It’ll be interesting to see (if I can bear to watch – not sure I’ll have the nerve – might be with one eye closed and fingers over my eyes like watching a horror movie!)

From McCain’s press releases:
For Immediate Release
September 26, 2008 Contact:
Statement By McCain Campaign On Negotiations
ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign today released the following statement on negotiations:
“John McCain’s decision to suspend his campaign was made in the hopes that politics could be set aside to address our economic crisis.
“In response, Americans saw a familiar spectacle in Washington. At a moment of crisis that threatened the economic security of American families, Washington played the blame game rather than work together to find a solution that would avert a collapse of financial markets without squandering hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ money to bailout bankers and brokers who bet their fortunes on unsafe lending practices.
“Both parties in both houses of Congress and the administration needed to come together to find a solution that would deserve the trust of the American people. And while there were attempts to do that, much of yesterday was spent fighting over who would get the credit for a deal and who would get the blame for failure. There was no deal or offer yesterday that had a majority of support in Congress. There was no deal yesterday that included adequate protections for the taxpayers. It is not enough to cut deals behind closed doors and then try to force it on the rest of Congress — especially when it amounts to thousands of dollars for every American family.
“The difference between Barack Obama and John McCain was apparent during the White House meeting yesterday where Barack Obama’s priority was political posturing in his opening monologue defending the package as it stands. John McCain listened to all sides so he could help focus the debate on finding a bipartisan resolution that is in the interest of taxpayers and homeowners. The Democratic interests stood together in opposition to an agreement that would accommodate additional taxpayer protections.
“Senator McCain has spent the morning talking to members of the Administration, members of the Senate, and members of the House. He is optimistic that there has been significant progress toward a bipartisan agreement now that there is a framework for all parties to be represented in negotiations, including Representative Blunt as a designated negotiator for House Republicans. The McCain campaign is resuming all activities and the Senator will travel to the debate this afternoon. Following the debate, he will return to Washington to ensure that all voices and interests are represented in the final agreement, especially those of taxpayers and homeowners.”

I am glad you can all watch it because I don’t have the stomach for it anymore. Despite all of the garbage the Chosen One spews he is still blessed by the media and the avg. voter still thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
I am so frustrated right now that I am just totally demotivated. I am a Republican and was always going to vote for McCain anyways but I was convinced that a Dem would win this year so I wanted it to be Hillary. I got so mad at how unfair Hillary was treated and after she dropped out I stopped watching the news for a while because I couldn’t bear to see that man get his glory which he didn’t deserve.
Fast forward to toda and I have that same sick and angry feeling. I have lost a lot of faith of my country and it depresses the hell out of me.

Oy- I have such shpilkes about tonight’s debate. There will probably be no knock out blows, but it is seems to me that no matter what happens in this election season, BO wins, no matter how much he lies, steals, cheats and otherwise manipulates everyone and everybody. It truly is the Invasion of the Obama Snatchers.
Lots of talk about friends of Bill W. on prior thread…count me in – 28 years on October 15th, which is why I can’t drown my nerves in margueritas- someone suggested that earlier… I’ll just say the serenity prayer.
But you know what? We all feel the same way about this guy and we’re not idiots. So, there are many other people who are also not idiots, just marionettes. Those are the ones whose strings we have to cut.
We should organize Debate Watching Puma Parties…

181 Kempion Awwww, comeon, Kempion—I’ve been agreeing with you fron the get go. I even added your RSS feed to my faves.
Besides, I wanna see how ya look in murphy’s dress.
#191 KarenWI: Yep, you are right. No matter what the MSM will say McCain lost. But they don’t have a lot of credibility left.
If it’s covered on C-Span you don’t get talking head commentary or ticker tape running along the bottom. But since I’ll be watching with my hands over my eyes, it probably won’t matter.
#191 – I absolutely agree with you. I am reminded of the debates between Kerry and Bush (including the one where we all swore we saw a mic transmitter in the middle of Bush’s back). I would think, “wow, Kerry did great,” only to hear all announcers say that Bush won it handily. This year, those announcers (and the Times) are in the tank for O, so you can count on how the fact that they will laud him with platitudes.
#142mountainson: so glad you under your name that I love are back…maybe it will not be seen again, but this culture sure needs some fun, and joy, and imagination of possiblity beyond the crap of the last 8 years…yes?

mccain showing his annapolis education. he KNOWS his history!
mccain being specific AGAIN.
said yes he would vote for the plan.
obama ducked the answer.
obama makes a good point: we need responsibility not only when there is a crisis but BEFORE there is a crisis. good point and good response.
mccain is funny.
I guess Obama thinks he knows something the Secretary of the Treasury didn’t know, ya right.
So far I think they are even, except Obama has more “uh’s,” personality-wise McCain still comes across as more sincere, direct, than Obama.

BO just has no class at all. He can’t answer a single question without getting digs in on McCain. What’s the point of that? The whole damned world knows what he thinks of himself.
GO MCCAIN! EARMARKS!!!!!!!!!!
good point, john
wish he would murphy, just so that middle america finds out about it. the msm isn’t covering it, that’s for sure.
did he just say he wasn’t lobbied for the earmarks he requested?

obama looks scared. “mccain is right.”
obama getting specific — that is good. 300 billion dollars is really important. good line.
Oy.
Obama’s looking into the camera – talking to people directly in their homes. McCain talking to Jim.
Obama sounds confident and clear, even if what he’s saying is boilerplate. McCain sounds confused, nervous and not hammering out talking points like he knows them backwards in his sleep. This bs about confidence in the American worker is a bunch of fluff.
Oh, lord. I can’t believe these are our choices in November.

weak ending for Obama.

hate that O gets the democratic platform to push. ouch.
hahahah I bet Obama brings up Clinton name tonight.
you can’t have that health care system is you do the bail out …let’s get real
Didn’t he mean the tax payers pay for his programs.
He says “I” pay for all of it.
I think McCain is doing good he is hitting BO hard on earmarks and such, making BO stammer a lot more. But neither one of them are looking at each other ….
Somebody keep count of how many times BO says “Let’s be clear”.
obama — eliminating earmarks is not going to get the middle class back on track. good line — trying to get mccain on the defensive.
BUT . . . not working!
I wonder who will use clintons name first
bozo wants to give all our $$$ to ACORN!
Did you notice that BO keeps looking at someone and nodding his head then writing something down?

Bo’s eyes looked uh…..glossy.
What is he talking about how can you have a tax cut now??
Hello we are in a shit storm.
Plus stop yelling Obama!
I think he is looking at MO!
Topic: Spending
McCain talks about out of control spending & earmarking, that’s good, but an obvious place he needs to talk about cutting is in defense, i.e., Iraq pricetag.
Cause if the bailout passes, DEFENSE will be the only place left to cut (about time).
Obama has a plan for cutting taxes for the middle class, that’s good. But small business owners won’t like what he says about loopholes because they are always looking for them.
A positive for McCain was the use of the word “corruption,” telling it like it is. And McCain should call Obama “Barack” since Obama called him “John,” like he knows him so well or something.
McCain: good point on their records on energy bill!
mccain — on fire!
specific!
look at our records!
obama SMIRKING.
Yep we noticed it tooo… he is getting signals.
Wheeeee! Time to get pregnant.
Festooned LOL!
Phew, I am safe from Barry’s tax increase. I only make $249,999.99 a year !
#322shampoovta-that would be my guess. He looks slightly to his left yet the moderator is off to his right. So why is he looking left, nodding, pausing, nodding again and writing?
322 shampoovta
my husband asked the same question
Prediction: Taxes will go up no matter who is in office…It’s what they will do with it that counts.
We are all contributing as the debate is going along I look forward to reading everyone’s input.
This is like having our own little debate party..
Yea Pumas cheers!
Hillary could out-talk either of them without breaking a sweat.
McCain can’t stop laughing at all bozo’s lies! Bozo voted for the Bush/Cheney energy bill for oil companies. McCain voted against it! Lying pandering freak.
obama — splutters. how many “ahhs” are we up to?
alternative energy — snooze time for me.
more cliches.
There is an organization that is allowing the general public to “rate the debates.” You may be a part of this now. I am. We have the opportunity to send our questions to the moderators and perhaps have them asked of the candidates.
Excerpts from their site:
More than 8,000 people have already signed up to “Rate the Debates” online, beginning with tonight’s broadcast of the McCain-Obama debate in Mississippi.
Here’s what to do next: The rating tool will be posted at http://www.RatetheDebates.org 15 minutes after the debate begins. Watch the entire program and then go there immediately to rate the media’s performance.
We’ll be capturing your real-time feedback and generating reports for hundreds of political reporters covering the event.
Tonight’s debate is a main event in this election year. Let’s not leave it to campaign flacks and media spin-meisters to tell us whether the candidates and moderators addressed the issues that matter most.

Maybe it’s a mirror, lol. I think somebody is being a “teleprompter” for him–feeding him info.
I think McCain is doing better than initially. BO looks pissed even tho’ he’s talking to audience.
I just decided who he reminds me of physically – Howdy Doody.
#335 – LOL!!
Flasunshiner I have been looking for you for weeks, stick around after the debate!
what was this debate suppose to be about? what about the huge gargantuan financial crisis, what did that get about 9 minutes?
#331Murphy..McCain grinning…powerful grin….
Obama does not know his @ss from a hole in the ground.
we have to make sure our children are keeping pace in math and science . . .
and we need to rebuild our infrastructure
alternative energy . . .
and we need to compete in this global economy. . .
am I asleep yet?
lol,,,saw that line coming
Obama’s got facts and figures at his fingertips. Sounds informed. McCain, not so much. Just a different style and I don’t think he’ll come off as truly understanding how we’re all struggling and that we need help!
Where the HELL are we supposed to get the money for all that?????
maybe he’s looking at Michelle and she is giving him the fist bump
Oh McCain…………lol…………..good one…….
PRESENT!
cost plus contracts…This is absolutely a necessity to get rid of them…I worked on some of them and they are cash cows…for the contractor….
29 uahs (I May have missed 1 or 2)
I agree scrub the goverment ….lol
Did you notice that some one in the audience always coughs when McCain is talking.
#352 BO will authorize the new bills be printed with his picture on them. hellooo, mountainsong!
MOUNTAIN SONG – glad to see you back – however I miss Alice – the cousin of Mountainsong – the information and passion of Alice was stupendous..
I guess I will just have to take what I can get sigh
Obama called Lehr “Jim” in that condescending voice, Jim has been around a lot longer than Obama (& he’s a lot smarter), wow might piss him off..
mccain — we must eliminate cost-plus contracts.
SPECIFICS again.
i think i’m awake again.
saved the taxpayers over $6 billion on a contract with boeing.
“we’ll have to scrub every agency in government.”
Obama — “Well, look” he said it!! uuhhhhhh. cant answer a straight question
Let’s be clear….Let’s be clear – he has said that several times. I’m not clear yet, however.
I think McCain sounds much more authoritative. Maybe I’m just projecting what I want to hear…..but seriously, McCain has years of history that helps him understand, even if he’s made mistakes. Obama is a novice.
Obama looks like a kid who is trying to act like a man.
Acorn is getting all the money Obama…we already know
346 hillstheone
Hi Hills. I’ll hang around tonight, but I am having a hard time staying awake with the droning monotones coming from this debate.
lol,,,you can’t get there from here
Look at McCains face. ” I got something for your ass on that”
Let the man talk!
Obama when ask what he would give up…all I heard was spend spend spend spend spend…won’t give up anything no matter how poor the government/Country is after this.
and by the way I win…O-boi’s already got 3 “I agrees” and 3 ah’s in the 1st 20 min.
mccain — spending freeze on the military, with an exception for care for our veterans.
obama — look for savings in iraq spending. finally gets a good dem talking point in.
mccain — he said HILLARY!!
Obama is winning the viewing audience…
except those who actually know his record.
The way Obama acts when McCain is speaking is soooooo rude!
I personally think that McCain started off slowly and did not attack back BO when BO attacked him – but now he is getting his steam roller going – keep going Senator McCain – you will get him stuttering soon.
McCain is first (and only) to mention Ted Kennedy and Hillary!
Obama just took credit for Hillary’s new HOLC and never mentioned her!!!!
bastard!
McCain, we should be cutting back on Defense spending, isn’t it about damn time, also nuclear energy is a losing proposition. He mentions Hillary supporting it I guess I need to read up on what she thinks about it.
My opinion anything that can make the planet more toxic is a very BAD idea. At least Hillary has Big Ideas for creating new jobs in the Energy sector.
BO’s got his hair touched up again.
Bo says John wants to use a “hatchet when all we need is a scapel” to cut costs.
john says money has gone to terrorists organizations. Keep going!
I knew mccain would say clinton first…wish someone would have let me put money on it
MSM will be on BOs side regardless… McCain needs to be himself and hold his ground..
358 – yeah, i keep hearing someone coughing when mc cain speaks, as well.
maybe jim lehrer should be president.
I love that McCain’s chuckles…
McCain: Good, saying let’s take care of our veterans.
Vote O, ba, ba, bama. I cant go threw 4 years of that.
#356 Headclunker I give you credit with keeping up that good my lord when he starts a sentences it’s IIIIIIIIIIIIII uhhhhhhhhhhhh…
I’ve noticed the looking too, something is up with that, he smiles he nods and he writes down on his paper. He did that all the time (writting stuff down)when he debated Hillary and McCain said Clintons name first….
dwp — what record?
health care kills me. mccain is WRONG on health care. Problem is — no way Obama actually cares about it. he’ll do nothing on it.
he took credit for hillary’s plan w/out mentioning her.
bastard!
bo keeps interrupting. no impulse control
get him john
376 – that hatchet vs scalpel comment was actually great. unfortunately, the truth is, we probably will need a hatchet. hate to say it as a lifelong, very left-leaning dem, but reality check time…
BO-”John, your president.” Bush is only McCain’s president? I thought BO was a U.S. citizen?
did he say orgy??
Obama cannot list what he would cut because he does not have a clue about what he is going to do…
McCains smile bothers me when BO talks – if he would only continue to go on with what he is thinking and SAY IT ….
JIM, JOHN….how unclassy!
*61 is pi…..ssed off and his arrogance is showing.
McCain won that last spat.
boy obama finishes weak.
was a good gambit, but fell flat.
#379 Anna7000
Some one get that idiot a Sucrets!
CNN’s “audience reaction” meter rating McCain and Barry is flat-lining.
His snide smirk when he came out and those smirks he has in the split screen are terrible….and O-boi already was getting snotty 25 mins in. O-boi is upset now and wants to start an argument…just like he did at the Whitehouse.
i am sure he said orgy!
webfoot: yeah..I caught that too.
#396… are you saying that the audience likes McCain’s but not BO’s?
how many times have we heard this?????????????????????????????
obama — ah
ah
ah
ah
I hope McCain points out that BO wasn’t in the Senate 6 years ago.
what are the colors on CNN meter?
I was right once….let me tell you about it again…duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Politicially risky to do so? You are a candidate for the Presidency and you have not done one damn thing to account for why you are except that you were picked to do so by your ultral liberal Dem friends…
Eye off the ball?
shampoovtv – lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
mc cain’s tie is a bad choice. very hard to look at.
webfoot – yeah, i’m waiting for that!
44 Uahs
MURPHY–this is the first time in over two weeks I have had electricity, internet and I am not working
MISSED you all and feel so out of it…
AND I AM DYING HERE…MCCAIN needs to hit him hard and he is FAILING. When BO mentioned McCain voted 90% with Bush McCain should have shot his ass down with the fact that BO voted with Bush 88% of the time…WHERE IS THE FUCKING CHANGE WITH THAT???
I am so nervous and upset that I may have to stop listening. I am scared and I do not feel that Mccain is doing what he needs to. He is making good points, but he is NOT attacking where one or two punch lines will be all they remember tomorrow and on Nov. 4th. PLEASE attack McCain…PLEASE attack!!!
He did say orgy….ugh….
Also, Anna, you’re killing me – a sucrets?
How about a gag for that idiot. Like a crying baby – get him out of there!
Jim Lehrer is cheerleading for Barack.
clap clap clap clap McCain!
…its above my paygrade. I don’t answer those questions.
did he say betrayus??
obama sounds shrill.
he is incoherent.
talking about money when people want to hear about military strategy, national security, military history.
ah
ah
ah
“use our military wisely”
mccain — back to specifics. attacking obama credibly.
“didnt ask for a meeting with Gen Petreaus even though he is chair of committee.
waahh!! Let Biden deal with it.
ah
ah
Gen Petreaus is brilliant.”
I HATE HIM I HATE HIM I HATE HIM I HATE HIM…
I really hate this man
McCain: “How we leave, when we leave” are the major decision points now.” GOOD.
Obama: “Senate inside baseball. BAD.
Get a clue, Obama, Voters like us PUMA’s HATE “inside baseball,” lol!!
bo is losing it. he keeps getting louder.
My new rap.
Yo yo uh,uh,uh,du,er, and yo like uh, er, uh B*tch!
Did I mention that I hate him?
Murphy: “Let Biden deal with it,” lol!!
#415 right on.
McCain-”Obama doesn’t understand the difference between a tactic and a strategy”
mccain — obama doesnt understand the difference between a tactic and a strategy.
second great line of the night.
specifics again.
talking to the troops.
we dont our kids coming back [to Iraq]
Hit him hard McCain – expose him.
Don’t keep falling back on history – show what you will do in the future!
Obama sounds like a petulant child……and he is rude.
I truly loathe him.
He is yelling now! Shut up!
The stuttering is going off the meter.
Did he just cut him off…oh no he did not…
400 KarenWI
At the time I looked at the ratings it was a straight line and it reminded me of an electrocardiogram, meaning no life left in this debate.
McCain smirks every time BO yells or interrupts. He knows exactly what’s happening. LOL
Get em McCain, carpet bomb him!
I like mccain just gave it to Obama so easily with a simple statement that O-boi doesn’t know the difference between a strategy and a tactic….LOL
a kinda “by your leave..your an idiot”….lol
He seems to have no respect for our military. Yet he wants to establish his own. He’s said not one damn word about taking care of our vets. To me, that’s absolutlely reprehensible!
jenniforhillary! hey gal!
can anyone understand he is talking about
“not whether or not” ah ah ah
we need more resources in Afghanistan.
he makes no sense.
BO makes no sense. If you listen to him his sentences are fragmental, his points non-existent, and MOST importantly they NEVEr answer the question at hand….
STOP IT NOW. STOP….get rid of this joker…
oh god
BOOM down goes Obama! Cut troop funding!
murph–you and made the same point:)
More coughing from the audience.
bobo is getting angry lol
i hope they give obama a chance to say massatoosits, i haven’t heard it in a while.
Glad I made it home in time to watch this
you and I that is
BOOM McCain just cut him down on timeframe for leaving Iraq…BOOM goes BO another flipflopping lie
Grasp, grasp for those straws Obama!
O how I hate this man I hope Mccain chews him up and spits him out
419 shampoovta
Is he flip flopping again? Obama?
#419 shampoovta ROFLMAO!
I only hope the voters can see through this lying, smirking, hypocritical egotist.
WHY is he talking about Afghanistan? This is NOT the issue….
Um, is there Blogtalkradio tonight?
I don’t have any idea how he got to Harvard, let alone through it, but it would be a travesty to let that retard become POTUS! He never completes a thought or a sentence. He may not have a teleprompter but he sure looks at his notes alot.
wow, McCain has him on the run….I have tried to post twice but there is so much activity on this blog it keeps rejecting.
Ill bet he would love to get a deal of that poppy trade.
BTW, hi jenni
Obama keeps coming off as being able to fire off facts, figures, ideas, plans. And McCain packs far less into a minute and offers less for American’s to grab onto.
Oh, why oh why is this what we’ve got. It could have been Hillary. I don’t usually harp on that, but couldn’t hold back. Now we have these two bozos.
WHY do they let him drone on? He is INSANE…Afghanistan working for ‘the people’ WTF is he insane???
oh, yes, he is. Afghanistan is no more a democracy where the average person has a right than America is…
Bozo is so damn rude. Stop yelling and interrupting. He should’ve just had town hall with his loser self and a mirror.
I can’t believe he is so rude to continue to interrupt John McCain like that. He even shushed Jim, the CNN meter is kind of dumb eh. When BO talks blue Dem line goes up when McCain talks Blue line goes down. Red line up for McCain, down for BO. Independent is about the only good one to watch.
the split screen on cnn is great
shows the glares from ob everytime mccain lands a blow on him
Bo keeps hogging the time……….jerk……….come on John, go get’em
I can so tell bozo memorized all this bs.
Wow now he is using old talking points on Afghanistan.
MOUNTAIN
my girl friend….
We got hit hard here…HARD…no lights/air/internet for almost 2 weeks…
but I’m back and so glad to be here!!
Obama is saying a bunch of one liners from imaginary index cards in his head….This is a succor who did not hold one hearing on Afghanistan and now he tells us Joe biden says…well..that committe really doesn’t do anything on the subject anyway….
Now on to Pakistan…oh…what obimbo said in the past is now here…Obimbo will deny he ever said that also.
Convenient amnesia……
Obama just loves to interrupt. Can’t stand to have anyone disagree with him. That bodes well for a open presidency.
Why does he say Pakistan like that? Paaaaaakistan.
slyt2 – and the whole election’s going to come down to independents and undecided voters. (so hard to even conceive of how anyone can still be undecided at this point. )
McCain has succeeded in making BO both uncomfortable and pissed.
McCain got him on the you don’t say that out loud.
GOOD POINT McCain bringing up Pakistan & recent bombing!
However I must say I have not been a huge fan of Patraeus but at least he now supports troop withdrawal in January: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/07/washington/07policy.html
52 Uahs
Bo is rude, interrupting and makes faces.
McCains calmed down. He has got this thing. Obama is stutterific!
Did 61 just threaten Pakistan?
BO cannot be our president…my stomach hurts so badly. I am scared outa my mind…
McCain is smart, loyal, and BO is filth. He is an idiot who is like a trained dog and can recite facts, figures but he cannot contextualize and he cannot think on his own. HE IS A FOOL!!
BO is such a liar!!! He is sooooofull of his own Bullshit!! I just know BO is getting $$$$$from the middle east and BO is nothing but a con job….
I am so gald some of you are watching. I don’t even have my TV on right now.
I can’t stand the sight of NObama.
pa…he has been threatening pakistan…he is war monger calling himself a Dem.
Are all the people running those meters on CNN sleeping? Good grief!!!!!
McCain has succeeded in making BO both uncomfortable and pissed
———————————————–
How can you tell is Obama giving really mean looks – something that the audience/viewers can really tell?
(not warching, don’t want to look at him – yuk!)
PUMA – Mention BO or McCain when you agree or disagree. without mentioning that we can’t understand your moment of comment
McCain won’t look at bozo. He looks like he’s thinking……..I cannot believe this terrorist appeasing lying amateur is talking to me about national security and war strategy.
Anyone notice when the evil BO gets pissed at McCain he blinks considerably – he is true evil.
Anna–I totally agree with both of your points (esp. number two)…
HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT THIS MAN?????
I got my McCain Palin bumper sticker today and proudly put it below my Hillary Sticker….drove around all day!!
When BO says when he is president I get a little throw up in my mouth…
384 murphy
dwp — what record?
———————
Exactly.
“bastid” (the old neighborhood).
#479 rlp the t.v. station has a split screen for most of the time.
Oh your right Obama is flippant and that last smart ass remark is asinine.
I don’t have a clue as to how uncommitted voters are viewing this debate. I have my prejudices . . . and my mind already made up. McCain is holding his own and not acting “old”. So I guess that’s good.
I’m so sorry you got hit at all, let alone so hard jenni. I’ve really missed you. I went thru Charlie, Rita, and Katrina in Florida so I know what it’s like to have no power for 2 weeks.
Are you watching on Fox? Im not getting much split screen.
Topic: “the little things”
Wow Obama sure likes to get on a first-name basis with everyone right away…has anybody called him Barack yet, I don’t think so. See how McCain keeps referring to him as “Senator Obama.” McCain has more class than Obama.
You know these “little things” (also like Obama mouth-kissing Biden’s wife at the Dem. Convention) shouldn’t make a difference but geesh, they sure do wear on one’s nerves! In politics especially, showing respect for one another is very important. Being disrespectful, people have long memories & don’t forget that, we do need a President who can work both sides of the aisle!
My station must be reading the blog; they just quit splitting the screen. Apparently they don’t like the fact that we can so accurately read BO’s body language.
We lost legitimacy in Pakinstan…when did that happen?
MCain stating his record in foreign affairs….Obimbo has no record even in what he says, certainly not in what he does or will do.
I am listening to it on the radio because when I see BO I do throw up for real
MCcain is making me cry with this story. He is a good man…a good man. Not Hillary, but a good man.
404 SARTOM on 09.26.08 at 9:42 pm what are the colors on CNN meter?
The red line is for those identifying as REP, Blue for DEMS, and yellow or green as Ind……and when you get these different shade it the combination of the different ones agreeing at the same level at that moment.
And Obama the Master of NO Talk…talking alot of words and saying nothing.
#476 ontherocks : I can’t watch either. I’m getting it on TIVO and that way I will feel like I can control it. But these comments are great!
ok so everyone has a braclet
Dances….are you using that bucket yet?????
It’s going to come down to how many people with a fifth grade education think he’s all that and a bag of chips.
What a pathetic waste of skin he is!!!
Obama couldn’t remember the soldiers Name!
#466 Lorelai No shit me and my husband keep laughing at the one he says that…
#481 Sisterluck – BO or John
We don’t need Lehrer in there at all.. just let these two go at each other… LOL.
I don’t see any similarity between BO and Hillary. She could have done it better than both of them together.
I wear a yellow lance armstrong bracelet…can I be president????????
thanks mountain…homes intact though so we are lucky. I spent the last two weeks rescuing animals, helping friends, and trying to get rid of Post trauma stress (not there yet but almost)…
I had massive withdrawal from PUMA…and I HATE BO. HATE HIM SO MUCH I am sick from it. Muddle this you idiot. WHen he is president I will not be in America…
SLAM SLAM SLAM MCcain just slammed BO hard on visiting afghanistan GO MCCAIN!!
What the F.
” I got a bracelet too”
LMAO what ass!
McCain lobs another one
tallyband???? Where in hell did this idioit learn to speak?
#504 I will vote for you!!!
Two men bragging about their freaking braclets! Oy.
McCain was doing good talking about national defense in Kosovo, etc, but then he started rambling and is fizzled out. too bad, cause I thought he actually had a hushed audience sort of moment for a moment. If only he had kept it a moment and not continued on.
#499 Caracal Carrie
Obama couldn’t remember the soldiers Name!
————————–
I don’t think there IS a bracelet, do you?
BO….please take a long boat to visit Afganistan!
im so glad mcain debated this loser
“Ive got a braclette too given to me in Green Bay”…can use his own story either……..
Oh man did you see that last super smerk Obama did to the audience?
497 invalidresponse
Dances….are you using that bucket yet?????
———————————————–
No, trying to work on something, listening to these two losers, and blogging. Multitasking isn’t efficient. It’s going to be one long night.
McCain wont even look at Obama now. That speaks volumes.
McCain is steely eyed.
he was toying with him by saying he wouldnt debate
when will Obama have to answer first.
Incredible.
GB Puma…I love your definition of BO’s way of talk as NO TALK…
NO TALK is all he does, and he does it as if he had diarrhea of the mouth 24/7. WHY do people think this back of caca should be anything? WHY? this is one of the questions that haunts me constantly…
511 jody in florida
ummm ummm ummmm no
I have a few PUMA bracelets…
can I be President?
BO’s head is spinning….McCain is too smart for him in this area of defense.
It’s good McCain won’t look at Obama because Obama’s been kind of disrespectful. Better to look at Lehr even though Lehr is a very stern taskmaster tonight!
I can’t watch Obama anymore – he’s angry, petulant, arrogant and rude. Oh yeah, that’s what I’ve been saying for months.
What do you think Hill and Bill are thinking right now?
I’ll rely on your synopses. It’s making me sick…
#501 LotusBoy on 09.26.08 at 10:01 pm
McCain looked like he was thinking I can’t believe this terrorist appeasing amateur is talking to me about this. Bozo keeps looking at McCain and saying John, blah blah like bozo is the master of national security. He never even went over there except on his world tour. I can’t believe people think bozo has the experience to know anything about anything.
I believe duhhhh hmmmmm I hope that slow boat he is on ends up in tallybond country !
hi all, only on for a few, still sick…now sicker watching blowhole speak.
I have two bracelets ……P.U.M.A and PUMA PAC- Defenders of Democracy…wear them both everyday
It is hard to watch; is it just me or his BO’s nose growing with each lie?
do you notice that Obama says frequently “Senator McCain is correct…..” but McCain never says that about him!
When is this over? McCain doing better than I thought he would – he can hold his own – more experience and more knowledge from mistakes and experience.
Obama …”When I am President”….shut the f up!
What you have been doing is soo admirable. I totally sympathize, jenni. I keep asking myself what I will do if he’s elected because I don’t want to live in a country where he is POTUS. I like to think I don’t hate anyone, but he really makes me wonder.
Bo spoke first when this thing started and has tried to interrupt ever since. His colossal narcissism and ego makes my stomach turn.
#525 Sisterluck – got you! keep feeding me
BO can never be trusted…..Period!!!! Along, with his groupies in the DNC…I am so disgusted with the Demoratic Party right now.. Who do they think we are to try to force feed us this crappy ass loser BO??? :101:
DIPLOMACY with IRAN is Bo’s idea…STUPID..you cannot negotiate with liars and people who will lie, cheat, etc., to KILL YOU DEAD….
DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB…how can he be so dumb and how can people AMERICANS actually support him!
#352 mountainsong
“Where the HELL are we supposed to get the money for all that?????”
details, details, mountainsong! ;D
Bo……ducking
BO looks like a scolded schoolboy!
omg Obama is sooo rude
Why is mccain not looking at obama, i don’t want to look at him either but something is not right about this. He’s going to get slammed by the talking heads over this.
McCain is loving the interruptions… BO losing control.
LOL………Oh Lord……….Obama is nuts! Not the most important person in Iran?
I need a drink, a long walk and a drink. Which one should I do first, lol..!
#533 CasperCat: They are not the real Democrat party they are imposters! We need the real Dems back.
McCain is doing very Well…..GO McCain….What ???Bo is soooooo arrogrant…Bo just said I will chose the time and place of my choosing???WTF …Pre Conditions?? where were the preconditions before Bo ran for President??
Some one please Photoshop Obama covered in bracelets like Mr T.
I can’t pronounce that guy in Irans name ether. I think that makes me American.
542 hillstheone
walk with a flask hon
CBS has a split screen – notice how BO looks over towards McCain with his evil stare – but MCCAIN never looks towards BO – I think he hates him – like we all do.
#542 hillstheone
Take a drink with you on your walk
I am sorry I ate dinner before I started watching Barry babble. He is turning my stomach. I am going to take a fewTums right now.
Mccain l;ooked right at mitt and went right after him, he’s got to in the next few minutes or he is going to lose this debate. Not that Obama knocked’em dead, but I would give him the debate so far.
I cannot stay in this country if BO wins…cannot be part of this farce. And I do hate him. HATE. him, his wife, the DNC leadership and anyone who has hurt hillary and supported him.
This is a fight for the life of this country. I have drawn a line and you are either on my side, or against me. Period.
And Bo is definitely against me. And BO is pooping out of his mouth AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN…boring, waste of time, dumb….
#539 vadaryl
Looks like McCain is busy making notes. That’s how we responded to the opponent in H.S. and college debate.
Maybe in the next debate McCain will say that he has a bracelet–a PUMA bracelet. I wonder how BO will respond to THAT…! LMAO
I wish Obama would run off to Afganistan with Casey Anthony.
Don’t even have a seal yet
The more I learn about McCain, the more I like him, BUT I MISS HILLARY!
Did I hear McCain say: “I don’t even have a seal yet?”
OMG That was sooo good!!! LOL! No seal, yet!
LOL!!! “I don’t even have a seal yet!”
QUOTE OF THE NIGHT.
“I don’t even have a seal yet”
Obama has the RIGHT TO SIT WITH WHOMEVER HE PLEASES…….WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!
That was sooooooooooo funny “I don’t even have a seal yet” LMAO…. I can’t believe Bo just totally interrupted McCain like that. BO is like a 3 year old who is not gonna shut up till he gets mommy’s totally attention.
McCain lobs another one—presidential seal
omg McCain is hilarious! lmao. Bozo talked about setting up all these meetings with foreign nations. McCain says well I don’t have a WH schedule of meetings yet……I don’t even have a Presidential seal yet……….lmao. that was sooooooo good.
he’s a liar…bo is a liar.
I think McCain is doing great with the precondition issue.
yes mr obama …you don’t always have to do exactly what your advisers tell you to do….WHAT A CONCEPT for you to learn
#541 bythelake
Ya he is going to talk to the crazy religious leaders who tell whats his name what to do.
And they will drink tea.
Why is Obama agreeing with Republicans?

Here we go!
That is what you said..It is not a mischaracterization of your position, you jerk…we all here remeber what you said…it is you who has convenient amnesia…you con man jerk
The pres seal line was good but his delivery of it stunk. It lost it’s luster. Come on John what’s going on here.
“ugh…please” lol
he’s parsing words, my friend
Round three, or four….McCain Winner!
so RUDE………… so CHILDISH…………. Obama GROW UP!
For all those posting updates. THANK YOU!
You are great for doing this. I admit I am not watching because I can’t stand NObama and I really like my TV.
What is the difference between preconditions and preparation? Uh nothing. Bozo screwed himself with the no preconditions comment in the primaries so that’s his play on words to get out it.
Again another enounter that could of been a good one for mccain and he won’t look at obama, there is something wrong here.
Heating up. McCain getting irritated. Obama stuttering again.
parsing words when he says preconditions means preparation.
yikes.
ah ah ah
all of Obama’s statements are canned.
dwp — can you put Obama in a can?
remember those prank calls — Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You do? Well let him out!
mccain just RIDICULED obama.
ridiculed him!
omg too funny- I don’t have a seal yet. Bo pissed vein popping out of side of face and neck, I have hi def tv lol
McCain has demonstrated the real difference between them. He is a leader and BO is a wannabe.
The seal thing will be the quote of the night.
Rethink Russia? What the HELL do you think we’ve been doing the last 60 years?
Smack down!
Alrighty, if I do a show at 1030 who is interested in callin in, I can’t talk to myself. this will be dependent on you. should I do one?
mcain slammed him what are yo gonna say when iran says well wipe isreal out ” what are you gonna say no your not ” please the crowd started laughing
McCain just did a great smack down re negotiating with enemies and Obama’s dumb propositions.
Obama go back to Chicago NOW!!!
Henrietta, how many times has Obama lost the debate against Obama, interruptions, calling him names and trying to make fun of McCain????
Obama just said he “won’t speak to whomever he wants to…”
mc cain’s comment about not even having a presidential seal actually got laughs, even though the audience is supposed to be silent!
obama is so smug i think i am going to be sick.
#574 vadaryl – but he kicked BO’s butt with it and PUMA love it. PUMA don’t you agree? and BOTS you are sunk
mc cain’s comment about not even having a presidential seal actually got laughs, even though the audience is supposed to be silent!
obama is so smug i think i am going to be sick.
519 jenniforhillary
It’s like he just says a lot of words like reading a dictionary and none of them connect to make a sentence let alone a full thought.
one of the talking heads mention this point….McCain looks like he is having fun and BO is sweating bullets!
Hi greenfun, how are you doing tonight?
I love that.. I’ve been friends with Kissinger for 35 years and he did not say that. Sounds like the “I knew JFK.. and you’re no JFK” statement from the past…
Oh I can’t wait for some Obot to tell me he did a grate job. I will just laugh!
Doesn’t BHO know we all heard him say the no preconditions comment. Does he really think we would forget? Still the liar, some things don’t change!
naive=stupid
Obama=stupid
What is it Obama???? Get your LIES STRAIGHT
McCain constantly saying that Obama doesn’t understand whatever the subject is – maybe he is using hynois (spelling sorry) on the public……not the right word – but you know what I mean you go to the theatre and see popcorn and everyone wants some.
MCCAIN JUST GOT A ZINGER IN on BO regarding Kissinger
Obama just GOT SCHOOLED IN FOREIGN POLICY by McCain
Ya know what, McCain is funny.
So rude, talking over McCain. Then a spew of Uahs, up to 81.
At the beginning Obama looked tired and angry, at times if he knew what he was talking about he would come alive a bit, then go back to being angry and confused, look at his eyes, they reveal a lot about what crap he is saying.
521 DancesWithPumas on 09.26.08 at 10:05 pm I have a few PUMA bracelets…
can I be President?
But did you get it here in Green Bay?….LOL
reeling off those names…
#578 ontherocks
you’ve probably got the right idea, don’t watch it just check out the blog. _With_ a cold drink! ;D
Three cheers for the Wise Old Man, McCain, He is kicking ass,
Obama has to agree because he has nothing else to say…..uhuhuhuhthethetheuhuhlike
oh boy! BO just got his ass handed to him.
oblah blah agrees with mcain when he is just baffled by john knowledge of everything
This contest reminds me of a story among our people about the old bull and the young bull, but now isn’t the time to tell it.
I can’t take his voice any longer…when does this end??????????
McCain is giving specifics and names etc. Bozo talks in generalities he memorized from an advisor. The difference in foreign policy experience is crystal clear. Bozo doesn’t have a clue.
Oh talking about McCain not looking at Obama…that is part of his war injuries that he can turn his neck without turning his body.
headclunker btw, thanks for keeping count of the uhhs and ahhs. I tried in the beginning but quickly lost count. I think they got lost in all the stammering.
#605 vadaryl – when the talker can’t get eye contact with the one spoken to, it result in what you just stated.
But since the talker is BHO, the result is catastrophic!
I don’t recall a oil question on this segment.
#612 tec1965 on 09.26.08 at 10:22 pm
I agree! He did that with Hillary also. He would always go uhhhhh, I agree with Senator Clinton on that blah blah.
Obama is for drilling and coal? Wow that will shock some in his party.
TerryDo
Well we do need a “wise old man” this moment in time!
In fact I think you have hit on a concept McCain’s ads should take advantage of, “Wisdom”!
We can all see that has been in short supply with Wall Street & a country treats an election like American Idol.
Obama hasn’t a clue what McCain is talking about so he agrees . . . sort of and then changes the focus. He did the same thing with Hillary.
Get your schooling son. This is how its done.
McCain is on the spot… Bo is such a puppet…He doesn’t have a clue!!!! I wish MCCain would say shut up Bo you are clueless…Now, that would be News!!
Oh is Obama arrogant! He needs a lesson in respect!
SNowtiger in with pizza.
Incaught bits an dpieces. Jm is winning imo. Form what I saw .
EVERY TIME Obama has to interrupt…. for crying out loud, it’s MAC’S turn.. let him TALK!
look at obimbo trying to interupt and mcain keeps talking (im not letting him in ) ha ha
Obama NO COMPARISON TO McCAIN’S KNOWLEDGE!!!!
Obama is RUDE in interupting
C’mon you guys – don’t you think it BO looks like
Howdy Doody? Just put a cowboy outfit on him and he’s read to sing
“It’s Howdy Doody time, I’m not worth a dime,
but if you vote for me, I’ll run the country further into the ground, just wait and see”…..
Also, Obama just used McCain’s line “Walk the Talk” – shit..use your own damn lines you idiot.
McCain just bitch slapped barney!
internet was down for a few.
can you believe Obama had to look down at the freaking bracelet to remember the soldier’s name?? oh boy.
and he looked like a baby — I have one too! and it’s not a subject to treat like that.
i think he’s gonna mention hillary again
I am singing now!! Bo sucks!! He ain’t going to make it.
Obama has got the cotton mouth going! See that white shit on his mouth! He is up shit creek

Barry is stuttering so much and trying to interrupt McCain’s comments on energy that I couldn’t make out what McCain was trying to say. So irritating.
Obama IS another 9/11 attack on the United States!!!
Hey mountainsong. Welcome back.
I just read the story of McCains POW years the first time….wow
what a rude mofobama is
….steps on mccain’s lines whenever mccain is scoring points….
this creep has got to go.
TY, Snowtiger
GOOD McCain, talking about 9-11 investigation / reform and working across the aisle!
Notice, too, he did NOT play the “fear” card, unlike Bush, but did not dismiss another attack out of hand.
“Applause!”
you know, for a guy who spent only 143 days in the senate, before running for president – he gives himself alot of credit for; “calling for this to be changed”, “introducing a bill for …” “etc type of egotistical puffin stuff”, it would require far more time than is logistically possible.
Obama is listening to Obama and thinking you know what I agree with John so many times, I think I will vote for HIM, yes, that’s the ticket he will be a far far better president than I can ever be!!! LOL
The biggest threat we have is Obama being President!
Obama is sweating. Anyone else notice that?
631 Lorelai
OMG ! I was just saying Barry looked like Howdy Doody. He looks like he is a jointed puppet being pulled by strings.
Bozo glares at McCain while John is talking. Especially when McCain talks about things that happened before Bozo was in the Senate.
Nuclear weapons? Bozo is lying here. He has an ad saying how he will disarm the USA as President. Now he’s saying he won’t. Lying loser.
BO is speaking as though to his graduate class about theoretics of warfare…and being far removed from war, is rather blase.
McCain is speaking with first hand knowledge. His heart has influence on his brain because he understands the human element.
604 Headclunker
are you really keeping track?
Is someone keeping tack of how many times he says he agrees with McCan?
Not a good debate tactic I think.
Tell the entire world where our weak points are
592 Anna7000 on 09.26.08 at 10:18 pm
obama is so smug i think i am going to be sick.
That just means you haven’t had enough to drink yet…….or the koolaid hasn’t kicked in yet…lol…I’ve been ralphing the whole time…and I don’t drink but I think I need to start…..lol
blue blue gal – lord, how i wish mc cain would say that, but it’s not his style. too bad.
mountain song – great line! (scarey though)
The press is going to give this one to Obama, they don’t care he was rude and at times clueless. They will focus on the fact that Mccain did not look at him or go after him.
Terrorists – That reminds me, I guess Ayers gets sentenced the end of October, is that right?
#636 mountainsong-excellent analogy. And welcome back.
Obama JUST DOESN”T UNDERSTAND!!!!!
646 Flasunshiner
too bad its howdy doody and not pinnoccio….then everyone could tell when he is lying..
Could we call Obama and Interloper or an Interrupter?
SHAMPOOVTA: yOU ARE SINGING MY SONG…MY NEW ORLEANS SONG…OH YEH….CAN YOU MOVE YOUR HINEY IN NEW ORLEANS SNAKE HINEY MOVES TO THAT SONG…GET UP AND DO IT..i AM…
McCain gave credit to men and women tonight. Did Obama mention women at all tonight?
th th th th…..
What does a ththththth count as?
mccain — “senator obama still doesnt understand”
he keeps hammering that idea — inexperienced, over his head, out of his league, ill-informed, naive, young, untested
How many times did Obama link McCain with “the present administration” or “Bush”? Probably 3 or 4 dozen…. and yet IT IS NOT TRUE!
631 Flashunshiner. yeah, I’ve been trying to figure out the cartoon character for months.
tonight it finally dawned on me. Thank God for those shows from 50′s…..
I shouldn’t bring this up but if there was just some leadership in the Dem party we could have had Hillary for president and BO for VP right now. That would have been great! But NO, there were too many petty men who couldn’t stand a woman in power and too many Dem women looking for their approval. I don’t hate BO he is just not ready to run for president! And it is embarrassing.
BO has a speech impediment he needs to work on.
#653 vadaryl- Are you kidding me?
he is all about looking like he is knowledgable (bo)
ehh ehh ehh ehh
Speaking of 9-11:
http://clinton.senate.gov/issues/911/
If he says “10 billion/month blahblahblah” one more time I’ll puke! He hasn’t got any other lines!

Vote on who is winning the debate
#649 Seems that JM gets the question and BO agrees then tries to add something and JM knocks it down. Then BO gets rude with protests! Not at all believable -no stated credentials
#666Seattleworld…. I would not BO for even VEEP!
McCain!! Your the MAN! Obama, NO EXPERIENCE!
ooooohhhh he just compared obama to bush.
Not watching debate. Getting info about it from you all.
Since I’m not watching I have poll info from other sites. At least according to Zogby, the economic crisis helped McCain slightly (his numbers went up from 9/19 to 9/23).

Good point. Barry’s nose may not grow, but he is a lawyer and (no offense to the legal profession), but isn’t there an old saying that you know a lawyer is lying when his lips are moving…
#682 mountainsong – who?
Not watching…reading your comments…is it still going on ?
Why is bozo obsessed with his father’s legacy? His father abandoned him as an infant. WTF. He just brought Kenya and his father up.
TerryDo,
Both, the Interrupter tonight, the Interloper this whole year. How did he get ever where he is?
go mcain i cant wait to see sarah hand biden his ass
mcain says i dont need any on the job training
McCain — smoked the ending. smoked it.
Obama — shallow, empty words
send a message to the world — blah blah
ah ah ah
My father came from Kenya and left me and my mother when I was two years old., and yet this idiot honors his sperm donator.
What a loser….
I counted 102 Uahs for BO.
McCain is a sincere warm hearted man.
Obama, arrogant!
Winner….McCain!
GREAT Closing Statement, McCain!!
Obama sounds flat following trying to follow up on what you said.
In summary: McCain won, but the msm will never admit it. After all, they poo-pooed Hillary’s claim to experience!!
go pumas
im making a donation in honor of mcain
Yayyyy…it’s over. McCain won.
Did you hear Bo ask MO “how’d I do?”
#683 Noblecascade
LOL that was awesome!
McCain won – last statement said it all
I just found a live feed as it ends
Jim Lehrer did a GREAT job.
a great job.
o is stuck in some loop -
he keeps coming back to a few salient points (afganistan, money going to fund war in iraq, tying mccain to bush admin, and attacking mccain) rather than explaining what he would do – i did not hear him give a clue regarding his financial bailout plan, his economic plan, his security plan, etc.
McCain, like Bill Clinton, is comfortable in his own skin.
Aides FEEDING OBAMA INFO DURING THE DEBATE!!!!
Man I am not going threw 4 years of uh, um, uh, and uh. Screw that.
They will say Obama won because he did not mumble his way through it.

Wow. What’d y’all think?
#704 – Murphy, what, you really mean you weren’t disappointed they didn’t choose Campbell Brown to moderate?!! ;D
Well, McCain was frank, cool and authentic. BO not at all-Fox thinks BO didnt “have too many answers”
I think John did a fantastic job!!!!
The look of anger on Obie’s face most of the time made him look more like the husband of MO.
Loved that John laughed at Obie over and over.
McCain WON!!!!!!!!!!
Good Lord, it hurts to bite my tongue!! But I have to be good and not say what I’m thinking.

He truly cannot hold a candle to John McCain.

A frickin’ Obot, my manager actually called me in the middle of the debate and ticked me off, told her I wanted to watch the debate.

I think McCain won this one.
It is a love fest for MCain.

Yes, indeed and that comes from both Clinton and McCain have experience and knowledge about their issues.
All that Obama was able to do was show that he studied hard and knew some facts….
Genius part of McCain………says bozo still won’t admit surge worked and would have voted against it again if given chance. McCain said we’ve seen this same stubbornness with the current administration. He just linked bozo with Bush by being naive and stubborn.
senator mccain was strong
he came across as a leader and commander
obama looked weak and unsure of himself
Anyone with Comcast you cna get live feed. Go to Comcast home.

#674 normapuma-exactly.
McCain is brilliant. I am coming to love that man.
NcCain OWNED that debate! Just like Saddleback Church. AND he did it while “multitasking” on the economic bailout!
Talking about Bo having no diffrence in “style” which they were expecting.

McCain freaking smoked him.
#705 Blue-Fox agrees. BO just repetitious. BO was “frustrated” and said “I agree with” and saying “not true, not true”…McCain most likely won IMO.
Fox is saying Barry was “smirking” and saying “not true not true, over and over”.
That was very obvious during the debate.
oh yeah, senator mccain is a natural..didnt even have to put on an act like obama..hes a natural leader and commander
Juan Williams thinks BO kept MC on the defensive…I can’t believe that!
Juan Williams drank the kool-aid. Geeeeeeeezzzzzz. He’s become disgusting.
i’m gathering the soundbites.
i like the pen comment first off.
I googled Kissinger saying meeting with Iran without preconditions. I found one site that said Kissinger was called after Palin told Couric that she didn’t think Kissinger said that. The site said Kissinger confirmed that he would meet with Iran without preconditions.
However, I don’t know if that was true.
I think McCain did well. He looked more experienced.
Obama gave talking points.
Kristol on FOX thinks McCain got under Obama’s skin.
Juan Williams is in the tank for Obama

Maybe msm didn’t roll over for Obama for once!
Guess the newspapers will tell tomorrow.
#722 murphy
Yeah, wasn’t that great? I am glad he kept driving home how he is NOT George Bush. I think he took the wind out of that line for the future. Obama and his gang are going to have to find some other piece of bs to stick in their fund-raising pleas.

How to vote at Drudge? I went but didnt see the poll-maybe I’m too wired!
McCain brought up an interesting fact regarding bozo and his tax plan. Bozo did vote for the bill that included a tax increase on anyone making $42k and up. Not the 250k bs that he spews. Bozo yelled no, no, not true. McCain said with a smile……..it’s true, look it up.
The thing about the meeting without condition is that McCain made it specific to the Presidents actions, not others.

I am beginning to WORRY ABOUT ME now – have I become too predjudiced because of what I know about BO that I can not hear anthing from his mouth but lies – I have switched over to all the channels and one person that I have always respected was Bob Schiffert – who said this should have been McCain’s debate but thought that both did well and BO held his own – that was the best interpretation that I heard – so is it me – am I really missing something that I should be paying more attention to what is being said by BO??
#756 murphy
Your right McCain fleeced him like a sheep and left him shivering.
Both the dems and repubs claim victory,,,,
Obama acted like a spoiled child during the debate. Kept on rudely interrupting McCain when he didn’t like what McCain was saying. You could see him getting visibly riled up and looking to Jim Lehrer to give him the right to shut McCain up. But Lehrer didn’t do it. That must have totally freaked Obama out. He’s so used to getting a free ride from the media. This time it didn’t happen. Must have been a huge shock to Obama. Out there way over his head at sea with no life preservers! No Disney Donald Duck or Goofy float devices. Just Obama, McCain and the deep blue sea.
Obama and the Obamabots . . . kind of sounds like a rock group, doesn’t it.
Beware . . . Obama plans to steal the election. He will do whatever possible to cheat . . . that’s what he does best.

#784 I didn’t watch, but if that is what that media outlet said it sounds like they are being polite. “Held his own.” That’s not a very good comment to me. I don’t think people in the media (who are in love with BO anyway) can say the words “BO lost.”
#784 Rodham in Flag
If abc is handing MCCAin the victory, you can bet it was a slaughter.
#784 Rodham in Flag
BO may have “held his own.” The only problem with that for Obama is that “his own” just isn’t all that much. Stacked up against what McCain offers, it amounts to just about nothing.
obams is a harvard graduate but senator mccain made obama look like a high school senior on the debate team

I totally heard orgy – what is it about spending? I think so….

yep, bozo used the word orgy. heard it myself.
that CBS poll was probably flooded with obama supporters ahead of time
Here w go. Talking how bo can come back. Bringing up Reagan.
Kool aid is on the menu.
I loved the fact that McCain kept his cool and just smiled or chuckled when Obama criticized him. I think that really rattled Obama. He just couldn’t get under JM’s skin, hard as he tried….
Obama tried his suck up style afterwards, trying to endear himself to Jim Lehrer and pretend to be so warm and friendly to McCain, but it just didn’t work. You can’t always smile and con your way to what you want, Bambi. These people are adults, not star-struck college kids…

Yes…Thanks. Got my information here, had a couple beers and ready to do some prowls tomorrow. I guess I am a wimpy Puma at times. My husband just got home and said he heard in October Biden would be replaced with Hillary. I said I think it is rumor only but still won’t vote for that idiot Obama.

Mercury is Retrograde…actually nobody won !
Did I hear the same debate that Krautkramer heard? He said BO wasn’t flustered and that they were tied in this! Gosh, didn’t he see the interruptions and the frustration BO was having???
Obama really whines without his electronic pacifier – his teleprompter.
flas..dont be a reprobate.. mccain clearly kicked obamas ass in the debate
They arr eplaying the debate and you can see it at abcnews.com.

There’s no contest between these two:

Obama won. For folks who don’t know about him, I do believe he came across as strong, knowledgable, etc. McCain just doesn’t know how to state an overarching vision. He gets hung up on details and just doesn’t tie it all together. And, for some reason, he just doesn’t go after Obama. He should nail him nail him nail him, and for the most part, he politely lets things slide. When Obama talks about 6 yrs ago this or 8 yrs ago that, McCain should say, “And remind me, what were you doing 6 years ago?” He needs to hammer relentlessly on Obama’s lack of experience and credibility and his alliances with dubious characters. The latter point would tie into talking about terrorism. He could talk about Obama’s associations with terrorists, etc. But, he doesn’t do it! So frustrating. sigh
I do believe it’s going to be Obama come November.
And, I understand Palin doesn’t do so well with impromptu questions under pressure, so not sure I feel confident that debate will help.
Plus, foreign policy should have been the debate where McCain shined, and he was just so-so.

Sorry, but I totally disagree. I think McCain clearly showed he is more experienced and laughed at Obie’s answers.
flasunshiner,
What I was wondering is 3 things, first what have the planets been doing the month of Sept., been some strange kinda energy going on, seems to me.
Second question, what does Obama’s chart look like for end of October?
Last question, what does the planetary lineup look like for Nov 4?
Don’t worry if you can’t post to all of these tonight but I will keep checking the blog over the weekend, too!

My husband just turned on Bill Mayer and the guy is attacking McCain and Palin.. He(Bill) just said last night his fake strippers name was Sarah Palin. Oh I have to go grab the control from him……
There was a famous writer (forgot her name) who, when referring to one of her colleagues who had socialist leanings used to say something to the effect of:
“Every word she says is a lie, including ‘and’ and ‘the’.”
Perfect description for Obama!
bill jo…im going over to msnbc to vote..
The debate was a draw.
McCain started slow but finished strong. Obama was steady and vapid – but he appealed to the undecided “stupid” voters.
Are any of you ready to join me in the middle? This partisan nonsense is ripping our country in half. We are AMERICANS FIRST.
I think there are fake “undecided” voters in the Lunz poll.
Anyone remember the Gore/Bush debates? And remember the ONE thing that probably hurt Gore more than his responses? The one thing that impacted his lead in the polls?
His smirking, smiling, interrupting – all left the viewers with a very negative impression.
And that is precisely what Obama did. This was a debate on foreign policy issues and issues of critical import to the future of the country. And Obama was grinning, smirking, rolling his eyes, interrupting and generally coming off as a smart ass punk.
I thought McCain did very well. And he seriously rattled Obama more than a few times. But it was Obama’s mannerisms and hig smug demeanor, more than his rhetoric, that really shouted from the stage.
Trash talking and smart ass antics may play well in some circles, but not on a national stage, and certainly not for someone interviewing for a CEO job. Obama can’t walk the walk, and he can’t even talk the talk on a presidential level. For all the world tonight, Obama made the office of POTUS look like a job that was seriously above his pay grade.
tomorrow is an early morning -
good night pumas -
That was a debate between a man and a boy.

Well oyu ar eentitiled tomoyur opinion. However if ABC is handing Jm the victory, it will be seen as a slaughter .
Abc has no love for MccAin. From what I have seen of the debate I haver to agree with Sam Donaldson McCain was incomplete control and just rolled over “o”.
*842… I wondered about that. Why on earth would so many of them say they had decided on BO and so few on McCain after BO was so clearly flustered, RUDE, and never gave any specifics?? What debate was Krautkramer watching, and these “independent” viewers watching? It wasn’t the debate that I watched! Good Grief, are all these people stark raving MAD???????????????
Anna: Obama did not win anything. He did what he has done, more of the same. And it will not be he in November. McCain beat his butt.
Someone hacked in to the AOL poll. Was 55% that McCain won with almost 30,000. Then it started changing before my eyes. Now it has 48% with 6000 voters.
OMG….now the “Which one looked more presidential” just changed!!!
Guess the bots don’t like what they see.
Kissinger just issued a statement backing up McCain…

I will try to speak to them in there own language.
Der,de,derd,da,der,dee,der.

I think that if people decide their vote based on this debate and don’t do their research, then they are idiots. McCain won the debate but people should still research the candidates. It’s amazing how people base their decisions on media pundits. Bozo told a few lies in the debate but can’t say I’m surprised.
Furthermore just look at htier faces as the y walked to thier wives. I thought Bo was going to cry. John was ecstatic. You can clearly see bo mouth the words, :How did I do?”. He knew. He lost. The great orator got his hat handed to him.

Is there a time in our history when working together was more important? China’s ambition is to militarize space – and, with a veto in the security concil, they will do exactly that.
We are all invested emotionally as so our filters are going to weed out the information that does not fit with our investment.
Having said that…
Obama was EXREMELY well rehearsed and will appeal to the superficial ones who think going to the mall to buy a new top for the party is important. But that’s a given. We don’t know if they will actually vote if they aren’t spoon fed. That’s the wild card.
McCain was true grit, emotionally available and responsive. He did not look like an old war horse from the back rooms of Washington. He looked like a very experienced guy who hasn’t followed the party agenda, but who has and continue to walk a difficult line.
Choice: Pretty words or flawed hero.

This debate will, help the undecided to choose. We will not change the minds of the bots. Now considering the way “O” has attempted to demean McCain do you really think this was even close? It laid to rest the idea that McCain is to old, that he is Bush3 at least to many undecided and I iwll bet dollars to doughnuts that there wil be an even bigger swing amongst indys to McCain. They are trending his way heavily anyway.
Debates are always for the undecided. If McCAin did horribly would anyone here suddenly vote for “O’?
can you believe that Frank Luntz group said Mc was the one who studdered too much!

Didn’t see your prior post. No problem. I will answer your questions:
1. This is the end of a cycle. That blasted planet Pluto is flushing out some old stuff. From 1996 until December 2008 Pluto has been in Saggitarius and is affecting World Affairs. Saggitarius is an expansive sign and tends to overindulge, overspend and take chances.
That is the reason why those running Fannie, Freddie and those crooked mortgage lenders were running off with fat bonuses. Angelo Mozilo, the pres of Countrywide is a Saggie.
Pluto makes one pay for greedy indiscretions.
When Pluto goes into Capricorn in December I hope that we do not regress back into a patriarchal society. That is my concern.
2. End of October the Sun will be in Scorpio and it will be a stressful time for Barry. In fact, I would not be surprised if he did not fall off the wagon and possibly go back to his old ways…drugs and running around. If he is not carefully watched by his handlers this will happen.
3. November 4th: It will take me awhile to read the positions. I will say that the Moon will be in Capricorn which favours older males (McCain). I will get back with you tomorrow on this one.
You are probably picking up on that energy.
I’ve got two words for Obambi –
“Oh please….”
Well, according the the fox news pundits, McCain won this one…… of course you have your kool aid drinkers disagreeing, but even Britt was laughing at how many times Obambi said – ” I agree with Sen. McCain”
Way to go McCain!
My Friends,
Tonight, Senator Obama and I participated in the first debate of the general election. It was a spirited debate and I believe the difference between our visions for America were made very clear.
In a few hours, I will return to Washington to resume negotiations with the Administration and Congressional leaders from both parties to forge a bipartisan solution to our economic crisis. I am optimistic we will come to a final agreement soon. All voices must be represented in the final agreement, especially those of taxpayers and homeowners.
We cannot be interested in who would get credit for finding a solution and who would be blamed if an agreement cannot be reached. We must put our country first to solve this economic crisis. Because in the end, that’s what leaders do in times of crisis.
Our next president and Congress will face challenging times that require selfless leadership. They must find solutions to issues like the economy, national security, and energy independence. I’m ready to work with Governor Palin and our Congressional allies to address the nation’s most pressing challenges. Make no mistake, we are ready to lead and the Obama-Biden Democrats are not.

Thanks TerryDo. After hearing about the bail out/Acorn thing this morning, I have just been sad all day.
I feel like my country is dying. I did a lot of errands today and when I got home, I just cried.
Somebody slap Dick, please.
Two things obie surprised me that he said, one is another flip-flop.
1. Wants out of Iraq but wants to beef up Afgan. and attack Pakistan if he has to go after Bin Laden.
2. Nuclear power is on the table with him too. That was one I was worried about with McCain, but now they both will do it.
OMG Dick Morris thinks BO won the debate
878 snowtiger
I think we are saying the same thing. I agree debates are for the undecided and this election…that’s a big margin! No McCain did what he needed to do and I suspect with MUCH less preparation than Obama.
I have to say I thought Lehrer was very fair. He wasn’t into the gotcha questions like CNN and MSNBC were with the other debates on Obama’s opponents.
Luntz’s group were mostly in the tank for Obama.
Obama’s answers were stock answers from being rehearsed all week.
McCain’s replies were more matter-of-fact and from experience.
Did you notice McCain said he worked with Hillary? Obama let that one slide.
Flasunshiner, thanks so much, you are confirming all the things I’ve been feeling / thinking!
Except when it comes to favoring “older energy,” of course you know I am still holding out for Hillary.
And happy to hear about stressful month for Obama end of Oct, too, right around when Ayer’s is sentenced I think.

No, I think he is stirring the pot. Got to get that base off the butts and up voting.
Pissing them off is the way to do that.
Obama has only come to this point through manipulation and fraud in the primaries and propaganda through the MSM.
I thought McCain won the debate. But, I heard the pundits say that if Obama didn’t make any major mistakes, he would come out ahead because he is leading in the polls.
I see Pumas were watching FOX, the commentators, and the Frank Luntz group. The comment about BO caring about ordinary Americans is astounding. Just like Castro cared about ordinary Cubans before he became a dictator in Cuba and ruined their economy and country. Those two women in that focus group were not believable. They are probably from ACORN.
I am making phone bank calls for John McCain this weekend. Our country cannot tolerate a Manchurian President.

McCain mopped NObama all over the stage! ahahahaha!!!!!!
Best line of the night!
BO: “I have a bracelet too.”
BWAAAAAHAAAAA! I thought I was going to fall out of my chair.
Couldn’t stop laughing. What a nitwit.
Obviously a damn good performance by McCain. On the offense constantly and got the last word in most of the time. I was pleasantly surprised by Lehrer’s even handedness toward both candidates. Got off to that impressive start when he said to Obama, “Don’t look at me tell Senator McCain what you think” (words to that effect). I thought Jim Lehrer did a good job. Never would have thought that of him.
MSM pundits, of course, had to give Obama credit where credit WASN’T due. They are so analytical. TOO analitical. I mean what’s this stuff about Mark Shields saying, “I noticed McCain never looked at Obama”. Christ! Another pundit mainly interested in style and not the more important quality of substance. McCain had plenty of that. Obama was minimally successful tonight. But he also didn’t give a whole heck of a lot of eye contact to McCain. And yes, I too noticed Obama sweating a bit. But that’s being over analytical of me.
Not a bad night at all for McCain, especially considering he had no prep time. He even held his own on the subject of the economy. Obama had mainly prepared for a night of foreign policy so he didn’t overwhelm McCain on that topic. By the way, Obama is not all that expertise on economics either. To that fact he has really no advantage over McCain.
At least the American people got to be the real pundits that matter tonight by hearing the candidates directly without bias interference from the media.

Dick Morris is a fat f@#@, and he is never right. He always ripped Hillary. I think BO appeared as if he had studied his material like a good little fake, but when McCain knocked him off guard, it was clear BO can’t think on his feet. McCain threw BO off a few times and definitely lobbed some good ones. I think McCain came off as less polished, but as someone who has REAL experience to bring to the table. If I was an undecided I would be thinking…….past performance is the best predictor of future success, and then I would think -oh yeah—–Bo doesn’t have a track record unless you count “present”.

What matters is who wins the election, not the debate. A week from now, most of us wont even remember who said what.
But the Obots are registering massive number of voters. If only a small percentage of them vote it could tip the scales in a very negative way. Especially the way they manipulate the polls and MSM.
We have to find a way to neutralize them.

All BO could do was agree with McCain. He was lost to come up with an unscrripted comment. BO is definitely the puppet of those who control him. For McCain to work in DC all day on the economic cris and then perform at excellent level in debate, shows the type of character we need as a President. BO was BO!
McCain may have won,but the most important thing is that BO did not LOSE. McCain is making the very same error Hillary did by playing nice. NOW is not the time for nice.
He should have hit him hard on the fact that BO voted 88% of the time with Bush (MCcain voted 90% of the time with Bush) to show no change in that old tune. He should have talked about his character A LOT and his failure to keep his word. He should have KILLED him on the amount of money he took from Freddie and Fannie and he should have destroyed him by the end of the evening with his misquoting what’s his face.
Instead, it was nice nice nice. The spin will be that because BO did not drool he won. America is poised to take a big one up the ass soon if people do not wake the hell up…
I am going to go take a bottle of pepto-bismal, and pray for sleep.

At a time of war, terrorism, and economic crisis, I do not trust our future to an amateur who has very serious questionable ties to terrorism and still has questions regarding his citizenship. I do not believe that he has America’s best interest in his heart.
I cannot believe that bozo has sat 20 years in a racist, Anti-American church, associated with and launched his political career in the home of a well known terrorist, and has been in the US Senate for 143 working days before he started running for President, among other things, is in this close of a race for the Presidency of the USA. Any other candidate, would have been laughed out of the race and career over. The Dem leadership and MSM is disgusting and they should all lose their jobs. People need to get the hell over Bush and his screw ups and look at the candidates for who they are. McCain is nowhere near Bush. He’s the least Republican candidate I’ve ever seen. I think he would be an Independent if there was a party like that who had a chance.
Can anyone tell me why everyone says Bozo is so brillant and an expert on the economy? Why does everyone including the media say or think that? What example says that Bozo knows anything regarding the economy? I just don’t get it.

Yup. Get tom the polls. We are behind at aol.
933 Jenniforhillary – Loved your post! Right on on every point (and pretty funny there at the end).
931 liloleme Geez, 78% Obama. Well we prolly aren’t going to do too well in Atlanta. LOL Could use a massive PUMApounce on that one!
#933 jenniforhillary
There are two debates. He doesn’t want to give it all, the next debate is about domestic policies.
McCain is the clear winner on this debate, the man definitely know what he’s talking about, NObama is grasping for straw to make his self look viable.
jennifer mccain is not superman ok.. he cant do everything every individual wants..
all in all mccain did a damn good job and yes he did win!
Surprise surprise. After BO texted his supporters to watch CNN, they are insinuating BO won. Can we say media manipulation?
NewOrleansPuma on 09.26.08 at 11:33 pm NobleCascade: Dick Morris is one of the biggest most consistent political prostitutes on the air. ..no matter what his point of view, in my experience. Pay him and he will say his mama is a whore, with qualifications in case some one else pays him more to say the opposite.
********************************
So true. And despite the Morris praise for McCain recently, I have always thought he is an Obama mole. Why? Remember the elections in Kenya? Obama’s cousin, Raul Odinga, was running against the incumbent president. Odinga was losing badly, and by some incredible coincidence, called on Dick Morris.
Dick Morris loathed Hillary, and he doesn’t have mush good to say about Bill either. Even during the primaries, Morris was more of an Obama cheerleader.
Anyway, Morris aligned himself with Obama during the primaries, and the Kenyan gig just fell into his lap. Unfortunately for “Dick”, he has was in Kenya on a tourist visa, which did not allow him to be working in the country. The sitting administration took a dim view of outsiders messing in Kenyan politics, so Morris was bum rushed out of the country.
Morris did manage to do a lot of damage while he was there. Not understanding African politics, he did not realize that the kind of rhetoric that just pisses people off here starts killing sprees in certain places in Africa.
Odinga’s people took to the streets, and fueled by the “ads” created by Morris, they began hacking the opposition to death, raping women aligned with the opposing party, and buring homes.
Obama’s cousin got some sort of position in the new government to quell the unrest.
There is a much deeper relationship between Obama and Morris than has been made public. And Morris has always been on record as stating the election really begins with the debates. So now it is time for “Dick” to earn his keep, having positioned himself as an impartial pundit prior to the debates.
McCain also was telling the truth, those who makes $41,000/annually already have a tax increase, NObama voted for it. NObama also did not mention in his so called tax cut for those making below 200k, he is increasing payroll tax!!!! So where is the tax cut when you increase payroll tax? It’s all BULLSHIT!
Someone said that Obama is for coal now, gee did he tell his vice president that?
voted…for McCain….

yep, straight to ms. cynthia!
We still have alot of room for a surprise between now and Nov 4. The way the ‘news’ is playing the Iranian situation is very similar to the way they did before both Iraq invasions.
i cant believe how many people are so “overwhelmed” by obama they give him way too much credit for what he says and does
The ‘financial crisis’ is a perfect diversion to throw the world off. And it’s a great way to raise funds to support an attack.
951: “We still have alot of room for a surprise between now and Nov 4. The way the ‘news’ is playing the Iranian situation is very similar to the way they did before both Iraq invasions.” True, again!
952: “i cant believe how many people are so “overwhelmed” by obama they give him way too much credit for what he says and does” Yeah, they’re called uninformed voters!
osaka…don’t get me wrong I was praying for him so hard I got sick. I just wanted him to put an end to this nightmare and the spin is already going BO’s way. We need something BIG to win and I am just scared…
He did well, but the fix may be in. I am just so frickin scared

Man I love watching the Dems go down on Obama in this porno way. Look at Colmes bob up and down on Obamas nob.
Slurp, slurp…
Sickness. :b
re#952.. yeah and some PUMAS too who are giving obama mini hi5′s..way to gos and bumps..
Jenni – Don’t make yourself sick. A lot of us are scared (among other feelings). It is frustrating that McCain doesn’t come out fighting more! There’s so much he could use to nail Obama. I suppose that’s part of why so many conservatives get frustrated and call him “Mr. Congeniality”.
#946 Grizzly
my God, I didn’t know about all that history!
Given the history of the Middle East throughout my life, I just can’t believe we are going to blow off Iran’s nuclear ambitions. First we supported and installed Saddam in Iraq. Then we supported the Shah of Iran. Then we (the US and Israel) instigated the Iraqi/Iranian War. The amount of attention we have given to the Islamic Terrorism threat….. we are not going to just let it all slide. No way, no how.
osaka – what are you talking about? thinking obama did well cause you buy into his shtick is not the same thing as thinking he did well cause he was well rehearsed, pretty slick and presented himself in a way that one thinks others would find appealing. clearly millions of americans already do find him quite appealing, much to our consternation.
The best line of the night is when John McCain said,
“I won’t need on the job training, I am ready on day one.”
most network talking heads are actually saying how obama underperfomed and mcain shined.. that tells you that mccain was convincingly the winner of the debate
I follow African politics pretty closely, and have a few friends in Zimbabwe and South Africa. I couldn’t believe it when I heard Dick Morris was in Kenya. Caused quite a stir there, and was taken by the locals as a sign of Obama’s support for Odinga and against the current administration.
If you consider the fact that the MSM is in the tank for BO, McCain comes out strong. I feel like we are living in a Communist country with the manipulation by the press to suppress any negative news about Obama.
Kathleen Parker wrote an article that Palin should drop out. I didn’t read it, but Palin’s TV interviews are being manipulated and edited in a way that is downright unethical and dishonest.

Second I believe Obama also takes cues from his opponents facial expressions except, not this time.
Listen McCain is Bill and Hillary’s friend. Birds of a feather flock together. John McCain is wicked smart! (and subtle).
970 osaka – i stil think you’re missing my point, but maybe i’m missing yours. anyway, good news about how the media is spinning it!
the chicago tribune??
surely you have to be joking!
Did anyone else notice that Obama was almost yelling at us during the debate? He was talking loudly and it was a nusiance. I also noticed towards the end of the debate that I couldn’t hear the words that Obama was saying, because he had a monotone voice that was loud but exactly at the same noise level, and it was like background noise.
But when McCain talked, it was like her was speaking to me and much easier to follow.
#973 Grizzly
I noticed the same thing about Obama initial flubbing of the man’s name on his bracelet!
just curious….
This is really my first year to really be into politics so I really don’t know.
Has there been another year where there was a lot of oh he won, no he won debates and what not and where the media was mainly for a specific candidate and the other candidate ended up winning? (which in our case would be McCain)
Think about it!! Israel already has nukes. And we just agreed to send them ( we probably already have) 100 bunker busters.
We control the access, which is Iraqi airspace. Our AirForce is plenty strong enough to take out Iranian defenses of the Straits of Hormuz.
Iraq was just an increment in a bigger overall strategy.
We all resented Bush’s return to Iraq and his steadfast refusal to retreat. It’s all part of a greater plan.
The proverbial poop i about to hit the fan!
Obama, too, makes a great diversion.

Mc Cain came over as experienced, trustworthy, strong, intelligent and even Obama repeatedly said, John is correct time and time again.
Obama crammed quite good for this debate and the American people could see the difference between memorized talking points vs. lived experienced knowledge. McCain had Obama off kilter and on the defense.
Why panic? I have faith in the American people to see who’s hands their lives would be safest in. At the end of the day and they have to cast that vote you will see McCain will be the winner.

In one word to your question…….YES!
This is the way it goes in every debate.
If Iran isn’t neutralized soon, it will be the end of Israel. I believe Obama and his minions are part of the Islamic counter attack.
It pays not to forget that wars are planned as much as 20 years in advance of the reality.

Thanks for the reply…But I was wondering if the other candidate actually won the general election. not necessarily the debates.
What is WRONG with these people? Almost every poll we have a link to is showing BO way way way ahead! I mean…. what person in their right mind would want a president who doesn’t know enough to listen when somebody is talking and let them finish first???
988 NObamaDem Geezus…94% BO???
Think about this: Can anyone here seriously imagine Barack Obama standing up with a gun as a military man and fighting for this country? I can not. This is a guy who gets other people to do his dirty work and I bet I could take him on in the street with my bare hands, right now…and beat his sorry little wimp of a butt to the pavement.

“Ive got a braclette too given to me in Green Bay”…can use his own story either……..”
~~~~~~~~
The thing that bothered me most about that claim is no one said, “So why aren’t you wearing the bracelet? Let me see it.” McCain showed his bracelet before telling the story. Obama as usual is just words… if he has a bracelet… where is it? Why didn’t he respect the soldier that honored him by giving him a bracelet by wearing it? Why is no one thinking of those questions?
And the other small detail that I thought showed professionalism on McCain’s part is that before he started his answer to the first question… he acknowledged the problem with Senator Kennedy and also thanked his hosts — everyone involved in putting together the debate. Obama just thought about himself and jumped right into his pre-programmed talking points.
I pretended I was from Chicago and voted several times on each one of the links listed above -
Someone up above said this before – Those for Nobama will not change over nor will we change over for him –
I have been watching the local Utah and Arizona TV stations – obviously for McCain – however they were interviewing undecideds who are so lame – they liked Obama because his tax proposals will help the middle class – another one said that this bail out thing would help the Republicans – somehow someway they have to hear about Acorn, they have to know about Obamas tax – these are the people that will decide the election – again not so in Utah and Arizona but in the swing states —
mzebest – yet another reason to be worried on election day. obama’s got such a well-oiled machine as far as mass communication with his sheep that likely many who would not bother to vote will this year because little susie college student or little illegally registered voter with the nameof someone who died 10 years ago wil get a little text message from the campaign to go do so.
Try the link again. I just did and it worked for me.
For those interested in the Dick Morris ties to Obama’s Kenyan cousin, Raila Odinga, here’s some background:
http://africa.reuters.com/top/news/usnBAN447825.html
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/11/bridges-burned.html
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/01/31/obamas-african-hubris-2/
And how that ties into Obama, and Obama’s affiliation with his communist party cousin, Odinga, here’s a link, with an enticing excerpt:
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?apage=2&cid=1200572509823&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
“Kibaki is close ally of the US in the war against Islamic terror. In stark contrast, Odinga is an ally of Islamic extremists. On August 29 Odinga wrote a letter to Kenya’s pro-jihadist National Muslim Leaders Forum. There he pledged that if elected he would establish Sharia courts throughout the country; enact Islamic dress codes for women; ban alcohol and pork; indoctrinate schoolchildren in the tenets of Islam; ban Christian missionary activities, and dismiss the police commissioner, “Who has allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists.”
Although Odinga is an Anglican, he referred to Islam as the “one true religion” and scorned Christians as “worshipers of the cross.” Obama strongly supports Odinga who claims to be his cousin. As Daniel Johnson reported recently in the New York Sun, during his 2006 visit to Kenya, Obama was so outspoken in his support for Odinga that the Kenyan government complained to the State Department that Obama was interfering with the internal politics of the country. After the Dec. 27 elections Obama interrupted a campaign appearance in New Hampshire to take a call from Odinga.”
Henry Kissinger believes Barack Obama misstated his views on diplomacy with US adversaries and is not happy about being mischaracterized. He says: “Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality.”
we really need to focus on the swing states. Go door to door or whatever. We have got to get this info out to people. Their are a lot who don’t get online or research. They believe what they see and hear on TV.
We’ve got to get to people face to face ( notice, I did not say in their face)
What I don’t get is that we all go and vote on these polls even though the bots have it rigged – but where are the Republicans – as much as I hate to admit that I have three friends who are – none of them are interested in other than their own vote for McCain – they don’t get involved or even interested in what NO NAME is doing – do they all just sit back and wait —- that it is a gimme.
mccain knows he cant win the war through fairness on part of the media.. he has to do an end run around the obama media and take his case right to the american public..
the obama campaign is based on cynical “smoke and mirrors” strategy to get the fools and dumbed down of america to fall for that hope and change trickery
