We’re Democrats, right? That means we’re the Party of the People — the working class and the middle class. People who have to go to work every day and do a good job in order to pay the bills every month. People who save and worry about college tuition. People who worry about health insurance. People who worry about inflation, unemployment, recession, layoffs, interest rates, and down payments. People who worry about car loans and car insurance and homeowner’s insurance. People who worry about hurricanes and floods and forest fires and earthquakes. People who worry about war because members of OUR families actually enlist and serve. People who worry about food additives and quality control in Chinese factories because we shop at Walmart and discount grocery stores. People who worry about violent crime because we take the bus to work; and who worry about public schools because we can’t afford private ones.
Jeez, seems like we do a LOT of worrying. Most of our worrying is about challenges that confront us directly — paying the bills today and maintaining our stability tomorrow. And that’s about all the worry we can handle. But then the Big Shots dump a whole ‘nother world of worry on us. Now we have to worry about what they screwed up, how they colossally failed to responsibly conduct their businesses, and how it’s going to blow back on us. And of course, this worry is compounded by intentionally complex and obfuscatory explanations and justifications by the Big Billionaire Boiz about how this happened and why we should save them. But, more importantly, the worry is exacerbated by an UNCONSCIONABLE lack of leadership on the part of our, um, LEADERS.
Harry and Nancy? No word from them. Barack? He’s still talking to himself in the mirror down in Clearwater, getting all ready for his BIG NIGHT tomorrow. He’s still trying to catch his plane back to Washington after George Freaking Bush nationally humiliated him by calling him to get his butt back to work. The DONC? Oh, please.
Nope, looks like the burden of leadership in the Democratic Party is once again being taken up by Hillary Clinton. The ONLY Democrat with national stature and a national constituency who has stood up and delivered a PLAN and a SOLUTION. And, even more importantly, the ONLY Democrat who remains committed to FIGHTING for protectionsfor middle and working-class Americans in the Bailout for Billionaires. Barack Obama, before even sitting down at the negotiating table, was savvy enough to give away the store right up front. He has already said he would be willing to give up homeowner protections in the interest of getting a deal done. Inspired yet?
Obama’s routine of ducking, postponing, hiding, and just plain MISSING IT is too discouraging to repeat here.
I’d rather listen to Hillary, the only national Democratic leader in Washigton right now.
Here’s Hillary’s article in the Wall Street Journal this morning.

BOOYAH!
The HOLC was riddled with cronism and fraud. Give us oversight and accountability and i will consider it.
The rumor keeps growing:

NOT FAIR!!
That is a very cruel joke! Hillary cannot be added in Texas or states that are already voting (unless their rules changed today). This is a spoof to get you to hang in there with B. Hussein. I think it’s mean and reckless to use Hillary that way!!
Well we hear that Obama was in his motorcade to the airport while they were coming to an agreement on the bailout……again oops too late….well here’s my take on his conversation to the “wokers” on the bill
“well good job guys for doing everything I told you to and see I didn’t even have to be there to hold your hands like…McCain has too…….So I guess I can go back to Miami Beach and finish working on my tan for tomorrow night…..because you know I have to look my best for the TV cameras and those lights wash a person out so much” LOL LOL
PBS is running a poll which asks if Palin is qualified to be VP. The Obama-bots have organized a ‘no’ campaign and at the moment, ‘no’ is almost catching up.
Just click and vote NOW. And please send this on.

In my post downstairs, Pelosi did say something:
“But in addition to the new changes they are seeking, Democrats are also urging the White House to deliver Republican votes for the package. “We are not taking ownership of this,” Mrs. Pelosi said.”

Sorry Obambi.
I was not going to vote, but after this economic turmoil
McCain is showing more common sense. So he is getting my vote.
DancesWithPumas say, I tried to give someone a possible TV interview yesterday. Am not going through that one again – thank you very much!
I think Hillary should go tomorrow night and debate BO. Now that would be good!!!
Can someone give me a link to the free fax thing I didn’t see it in the action center (i thought someone had said it was there)??
It makes you wonder sometimes, if these people we’ve elected US Senate are after protecting our welfare or they’re after making their wallet fat at our expense.
There’s no such thing as sacred cow when we deal with graft and corruption within our government, treat TWO IMPOSTORS the same. We have to evaluate it for what it is and decide what is best for OUR OWN INTEREST not what is best for the party. Seldom politicians stand up for their constituents, we’ve seen how Hillary stand up for her party instead of standing up for the people that supported her.
Don’t fall in love with politicians, always have limitations for your loyalty with your political affiliations. Be loyal to yourself first, no one will do it for you. In the scheme of things, in the world of real politics, those who speaks sweetly, promises the moon and the stars will pick your wallet and expect you to be grateful.

indy on 09.25.08 at 2:23 pm A bipartisan deal has been struck in the bailout.
They’re going to the White House after 3:55 PM for a meeting.
“But in addition to the new changes they are seeking, Democrats are also urging the White House to deliver Republican votes for the package. “We are not taking ownership of this,” Mrs. Pelosi said.”
It looks like the Dems are passing the buck.
But they are going to need McCain to get it finalized.

I hope Pelosi and Reid appreciate what they have done – the country does not need Obama when it comes to crisis resolution, but we do need McCain!!!!!
As I said on prior page, yes, Hillary Clinton is the only person who continues to speak of the invisible ones.
This is one of t he reasons she was rejected by the usurped DNC, and the likes of Dodd, Kerry, Frank, Pelois,
Reid, Daschle(think he is retired? Think again, Mr. Social Worker, perhaps the worse Leader in history. et al.
As ElyLosAngeles said below…she was incovenient to the political mafia…

ACTION CENTER and PROWL IDEAS —
Can you put items in the Action Center? Both of these guys were on Fox in the past day or so and I thought they would be great to move in on. Whaddya think?
ALAN WARMS at Yahoo News is doing polls and trying to figure out why Hillary voters will not vote and/or haven’t come over to vote for nobo. He had one or two thoughts such as maybe they like Palin, etc. but also said maybe some of it is racism. He has a new poll coming out in 3 weeks. He would be a great one to write and telling him WHY we aren’t voting for him and maybe include some of nobo’s voting fraud and convention cercion as well as all the mistreatment of Hillary, his experience, his associations, etc.
Can’t find his name and address at Yahoo but he spoke on Fox sometime yesterday I think. I imagine if we just wrote to Yahoo News it would get to him.

Here’s the speech Senator John McCain delivered on the Senate Floor In May 25, 2006 about FEDERAL HOUSING ENTERPRISE REGULATORY REFORM ACT OF 2005
===
Mr. President, this week Fannie Mae’s regulator reported that the company’s quarterly reports of profit growth over the past few years were “illusions deliberately and systematically created” by the company’s senior management, which resulted in a $10.6 billion accounting scandal.
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight’s report goes on to say that Fannie Mae employees deliberately and intentionally manipulated financial reports to hit earnings targets in order to trigger bonuses for senior executives. In the case of Franklin Raines, Fannie Mae’s former chief executive officer, OFHEO’s report shows that over half of Mr. Raines’ compensation for the 6 years through 2003 was directly tied to meeting earnings targets. The report of financial misconduct at Fannie Mae echoes the deeply troubling $5 billion profit restatement at Freddie Mac.
The OFHEO report also states that Fannie Mae used its political power to lobby Congress in an effort to interfere with the regulator’s examination of the company’s accounting problems. This report comes some weeks after Freddie Mac paid a record $3.8 million fine in a settlement with the Federal Election Commission and restated lobbying disclosure reports from 2004 to 2005. These are entities that have demonstrated over and over again that they are deeply in need of reform.
For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac–known as Government-sponsored entities or GSEs–and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market. OFHEO’s report this week does nothing to ease these concerns. In fact, the report does quite the contrary. OFHEO’s report solidifies my view that the GSEs need to be reformed without delay.
I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.
I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.
===
That is LEADERSHIP!
Having spent almost 10 solid years refusing to do anything about curbing the extremes of FannieMae and Freddie Mac, having stopped a reform effort re these measures submitted by McCain, having let this continue, now in 2 DAYS, these same Democrats, Dodd, Frank, Reid, Pelosi, Kerry , obimboet al, get a deal done?
These bunch of lazy ass, slime buckets allow this catastrophe and feel they can fix it in two daysand therefore could have fixed what was causing this at any point in 10YEARS. HYPOCRITES. PHONIES. CRONIES OF FINANCIAL ROBBER BARONS…. I have never been so disgusted in my life, except of course….how many more times previously in the last 10 months.

I just realized what the rushing to get the bailout done today reminds me of.
Kids fighting at home, and mom says “wait till your dad gets home and you will be in big trouble”. McCain (dad) hears about the squabbling, and yesterday says – daddy is coming home. All of a sudden, the squabbling stops and there is an agreement.
And no one will admit it had anything to do with McCain. LOL
I know the DK is enough to make us all vomit but I occasionally lurk there to read up on the obots-
I found it pretty interesting that with the economic/financial crisis being the top story of the day everywhere else- the top 3 out of 4 stories are about Sarah Palin. Wow! Is she really upsetting them that much?? I think that is pretty good news. And there is essentially nothing new to report- they keep regurgitating the same pablum repeatedly.

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, ‘What is Politics?’
Dad says, ‘Well son, let me try to explain it this way:
I am the head of the family, so call me The President.
Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government.
We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People
The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class.
And your baby brother, we will call him the Future.
Now think about that and see if it makes sense.
So the little boy Goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him.
He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper.
So the little boy goes to his parent’s room and finds his mother asleep.
Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny’s room Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny.
He gives up and goes back to bed.
The next morning, the little boy say’s to his father, ‘Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now.’
The father says, ‘Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about.’
The little boy replies, ‘The President is screwing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep shit.!!!!

This is one of the responses to my recent post asking for ideas to defeat BO in swing states. Sorry, I dropped the name.

LandiPUMA,
#103 Swing state ideas
I think that we should buy radio advertising on small regional radio stations or in local newspapers in the rural/suburban areas of swing states, one week before the election so that the other side cannot respond. We should highlight our PUMA grievances and urge people to NOT vote for Obama.

RE: TODAY’S PROWL
Think it also makes sense to contact the McCain campaign as well, urging him to support Clinton’s plan. Obviously, he won’t come out and do that since he’s lose his core base of support, but if we truly want to see our values represented, why not let him know, as well, where we stand. That we are disaffected Dems who won’t be voting for Obama who are looking to McCain for leadership, including backing the most thoughtful plan that looks out for the interests of ordinary Americans.

how about the delegates that were interviewed for the “audicity of hope” movie?
the two hillary delegates i know (denver) wouldn’t stick their necks out – ): ):

Good news from Zogby:
http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1562
The response to McCain’s campaign suspension seen as positive. Personally, I don’t see the suspension as a political ploy. McCain has taken a substantial risk, one that he did not have to take, and there is no guarantee that this bailout package will even succeed. Who knows if Paulson has estimated the size of the problem correctly? However, if the general premise that a failure to act would lead to a 1929-style collapse is true, then McCain was morally obligated, as a Senator, to try to convince the republicans to get on board with the package. This has to seep into peoples’ consciousnesses eventually. It’ll be interesting to see how Obama votes on the package, or if he even will vote. This is a Russian Roulette moment.

One man cannot decide the fate of the Nation! That’s why we have 2 parties. One man with a Nation behind him is stronger, but he’s still only one man! I’m not trying to be philosophical, but I’m in the reality mode!
Since the bailout package is supposedly agreed to in principle, I expect the debate to go on. Then McCain will return to Washington and work on getting it passed.

maybe you could write and article on the improprieties you saw. Even if you didn’t realize at that time, the perspective of someone there would be great to have.
I eventually want to include a link to the Audacity of Hope movie. I am not sure when it will be available though.
Had trouble finding anyone who knew anything about Hillary’s proposal being included or even reviewed by our sorry a** congress. I want so badly to believe that the Democrats will do the wise thing, but then I saw this Fox video clip that shows Barney Frank fighting for Mae and Mac back in 2003:

With the way things are portrayed in this clip, it sure looks like it was the Republicans who knew better.

RE: TODAY’S PROWL (condensing all my notes here, plus a few more):
1. If you call Clinton’s office, they usually ask what county you live in. If you want to make one up, you can say: Westchester. If they press you for a specific address, you can always say you prefer not to give it out. And, of course, if your phone doesn’t block your phone number, they’ll see if the call is from out of state. I told them I was in CA but that I felt the matter was of such national importance that it warranted a call.
2. If you try to contact your rep via e-mail using their web form, be aware that many rep’s web site’s are down, so calling may be more efficient.
3. May also want to contact George Bush, John McCain and Obama, as well, urging them to support Clinton’s plan.

LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH
————————————————
I hope you will support Senator Clinton’s brilliant proposal of concrete steps for fending off further financial and economic collapse, a proposal that will protect American families and homeowners. Her proposal to create a new Homeowners’ Loan Corporation is crucial and I urge you to include this is the final package that you and Congress work out.
These are frightening times as we face the most serious financial collapse since the Great Depression. I am worried about our future, our economic security, our ability to pay our mortgage, and have enough money left over for our older years.
I implore you to review Senator Clinton’s plan carefully and set aside partisan differences so the country can be set on the right track. This is not the time to create corporate welfare at the expense of ordinary Americans. We need relief and cannot carry this burden without every and all possible safeguards for our future and our investments.

LETTER TO JOHN MC CAIN
—————————————————
Thank you for the leadership you have shown this week in understanding how to establish priorities in a time of extreme crisis.
I would also like to thank you for calling upon Republicans and Democrats to work together on this and other important issues facing our country. Your promise to include Democrats and Independents in your Cabinet should you be elected President is another sign of how committed you are to working together to find common ground in order to move America forward.
Toward that end, I hope you will support Senator Clinton’s brilliant proposal to fend off further financial and economic collapse, a proposal that will protect ordinary middle class and working class American families and homeowners. Her proposal to create a new Homeowners’ Loan Corporation is crucial and I urge you to include this is the final package that you and Congressional leaders work out.
I am a disaffected Democrat who will not be voting for Senator Obama in the General Election. If you are to have my vote, I need to see that your actions support your words regarding your desire for both parties to work together. On the matter of this devastating financial and economic crisis, I believe Senator Clinton has designed a brilliant and detailed proposal that is worthy of your support.
I hope I can count on you to get behind this plan and help move America toward brighter days.
113 RAIN – HERE’S A LETTER YOU CAN SEND TO CONGRESSMAN HASTINGS IF YOU LIKE. CONTACT INFO IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LETTER. IT CAN ALSO BE EASILY ADAPTED TO SEND TO THE MEDIA.
——————————————————
Dear Congressman Hastings:
I am writing to you as a life long Democrat with profound concerns regarding your comments this week when speaking at a panel discussion hosted by the National Jewish Democratic Council. I am appalled that you would presume to state that blacks and Jews should beware of Sarah Palin because she knows how to shoot a gun and skin a moose. This smacks of the kind of hideous stereotyping that blacks, Jews, and other groups have been subjected to for years. When someone is determined to hate you due to the color of you skin, your religious affiliation, or any other reason, it is common for them to link anything and everything about you to your race or religion, even though the link is irrelevant. This is why it’s so difficult to shatter racist or anti-Semitic thinking, because it is so utterly irrational. If you feel there is something worthy of concern pertaining to Sarah Palin’s candidacy, I would suggest you stick to the relevant facts.
And, while on the subject of facts, I would suggest that Barack Obama’s church affiliation, his taking on Reverend Wright as a father figure and mentor, and his church’s elevation of Louis Farrakhan to great heights would be a very important fact for Jews (and others) to pay attention to. Sarah Palin’s hunting skills are neither here nor there as it pertains to an intelligent discourse about politics and who should be our next President and Vice President.
Each and every day, the Democrats make it easier for me to feel confident about voting for the McCain/Palin ticket in November. You’ve just provided me with one more bit of evidence that the Democrats have steered far off course. I can no longer say with pride that this is my party. It has become unrecognizable.
But, thanks for the tip off that should I run into anyone who totes a gun or seems skilled at skinning a moose to be suspicious they are secretly, or overtly, a racist and an anti-Semite. I had not known that before.

A few interesting things about Congressman Hastings: 1) He supported Hillary all the way through the primaries. 2) He was removed from the bench as a federal judge in 1989 on charges of perjury and corruption.
As of now McCain may still not do the debate unless there is a consensus between congress and administration.
so as suggested here earlier that Hillary debate Obama, but better yet Obama should debate himself……he’s flip-flopped enough that he can debate the flip and/or the flop all by himself.
And still lose the debate…….LOL
what I don’t understand is-10 days ago -mccain said the fundementals of the economy were strong–now he has to suspend his campaign and postpone the debate? the only thing that changed over the last 10 days are his poll numbers-Rick Davis taking 15k/month from fannie until last month(which palin lied to Katie couric about last night-saying he hasn’t had any dealings in 2 years–UNTRUE)
Palin couldn’t site one example in which Mccain has wanted any form of regulation-of anything-in fact-he wanted to privatize SS and healthcare–seriously.
HE voted against the minumum wage
childrens healthcare
equal pay for equal work
and doesn’t realize that we cannot “win ” the war in Iraq–my neighbour is from Iraq–he beleives the war was fundementally flawed-you cannot impose democracy-it’s an oxymoron..US presence in Iraq is what had been causing the violence and increasing anti american sentiment in the middle east–we need to cut our losses-stop killing our soldiers and printing money-what is McCain thinking staying over there–it’s moronic.
Sorry-but when I found out that McCain was second from last in his graduating class–I am tired of having another dumb guy in office–just did 8 years of that…the smart guy is looking better and better.
Someone enlighten me!

I DID MY FAXES and I sent another resolution to our crisis to murphy: Thought I’d share it with you:
It’s Called: I had a DREAM !
——————————————————-
I LIKE IT!!! WE GET SOMETHING FOR A CHANGE!!!!
Interesting concept!
—————————–
interesting — Does anybody in Congress realize this is how the numbers work?
I’m against the $85 BILLION bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a “We Deserve It” dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bona fide U.S. citizens, aged 18+.
Our population is about 301 million counting every man, woman and child. So, 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up. Now, divide 200 million, 18+ adults into $85 billion – that equals $425,000.00 each! Yes, my plan is to give that $425,000 to every adult as a “We Deserve It” dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So, let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Everyone would pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25.5 billion right back to Uncle Sam! It also means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife would have $595,000.00!
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads.
Put away money for college – it’ll really be there.
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs .
Invest in the market – capital drives growth.
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves.
Enable deadbeat parents to come clean – or else.
Remember this is for every adult U.S. citizen, 18 and older (including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehmann Brothers and every other company that is cutting back) and of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it! Instead of trickling out a puny $1,000.00 “economic incentive”.
If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U.S. citizen!
As for AIG – liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
We deserve the money and AIG doesn’t. Sure it’s a crazy idea, but can you imagine the coast-to-coast block party?!
How do you spell Economic Boom? W-e D-e-s-e-r-v-e I-t d-i-v-i-d-e-n-d! I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion “We Deserve It” dividend more than do the ‘geniuses’ at AIG or in Washington, D.C..
And remember, my plan only really costs $59.5 billion because $25.5 billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Good idea? I think so.
PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND WE COULD MAKE IT A REALITY????????????????
#115mick: Thank you for this summary. Once again, I hate having to defend Georgie Poorgie and the Republicans re the FannieMae, Mac issue, but this summary with references trackesthat the Democrats are responsible for this debacle. Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, Mayor Richard Daley…..our leadership in Illino is…..all Democrats. Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course they’re all blaming each other. Can’t blame Republicans, they’re aren’t any!
State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look’em up if you want). Chicago school system one of the worst in country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. He’s gonna ‘fix’ Washington politics?

When McCain said “ the fundamentals of our economy is strong“, he is referring to HARD WORKING Americans who is actually the backbone of our economy. Without workers the economy ain’t going anywhere.
I swear, there’s no difference between Washington Democrats and Republicans. They are all a bunch of raving lunatics. If we had any power as a people we might cut off their bank accounts and make them do some hard physical labor to see what it’s like.

Billie Jo and Caracal.
Hey! Billie Jo, would you mind getting some of the stuff on cercion of delegates that you have? I know you were collecting it. Since you are both on, you might be able to connect right now.
Caracal,
Will get the info to you that I mentioned later, need to rest for awhile. You can get my email from Murphy with my permission if you want to do it that way.
Thank you both for EVERYTHING you do!
Thanks Diva! Take a rest!
I think nobo looks really p.o.’ed in that meeting McCain to nobo — GOTCHA!
#151 BillieJo,
Unfortunately, I caught the last 2 min. so I missed most of it. I did catch Neil asking her about the “Biden out, Hillary in” rumor … she refused to make any comments about that. Said she won’t allow herself to go there.
I did the Faxing part of the prowl to Sen. Clinton, Sen McCain, I did a fax to Bush. I cannot do the calls, I am still sick, and can’t hardly talk. I emailed my daughter in Colorado, and she is also going to fax and will do the calls for me.
I really want to know…I NEED to know……WHERE is the outrage of the American people?
If one of us seriously overdrew our bank account we whould be charged under the law and possibly sent to jail. What is so different with this situation concerning bakers and CEO’s of investment firms?
Supposedly, Lehman Bros. CEO received a 34 MILLION dollar bonus last year and this year his company is broke. Where is the accountability?
And what man NEEDS 34 million dollars in the first place?
They have broken the bank. It’s empty, they stole it ALL!!!
And now they treaten, yes THREATEN honest people struggling to obtain or pay a mortgage with no credit or foreclosure. THAT”S FRICKIN EXTORTION!!!!!!
People used to go to jail for that.
I wonder, if in comparison, if the MAFIA ever stole as much from us as these people have.
I was taught that laws are enacted to PROTECT the people.
But they don’t work anymore. The LAW is a joke. Our leaders break laws everyday with impugnity and the people just sit back and let them screw them. Without any K-Y even for crying out loud.
If they get away with this, I’m not voting for either one of the bastards. They are all crooks. And nothing is going to change.
Go ahead and bail the thieves out and I BET you that you will still not be able to get any credit. Because there will STILL not be any money in the bank. We will only be putting back what they stole.
We need to call their bluff and say, collectively, “We are OURAGED and their will be NO BAILOUT. We want these traitors brought to trial. We want their ‘assets’ confiscated as restitution.
People, if this flies you will be vulnerable as you have never understood vulnerability. There will be NO LAW to protect you then, if there is none now!!! And all the ‘Prowling ‘ in the world wont fix it.
Are you feeling better today prplvette? No soup?

I only have the emails from Ricki Lieberman with the delegates feedback on them.
Either post your email or get my email from Murphy.
130 Asian4Hillary Thank you Asian about the “fundamentals of the economy.” I understood it the first time and I still understand it. I think this is brought up intentionally IMO, as it has been several times before.
c4hill #120. The fundamentals of the economy can be strong at the same time that a major industry is in turmoil. Those two situations are not mutually exclusive. The strength of the fundamentals of the economy is debatable — but McCain did not contradict himself, as you claim.
I didn’t watch the interview to which you refer, so I don’t know what she wasnt able to cite, but I’ll take your word for it. Sarah Palin is a newcomer to national politics — that’s a given. The wisdom of McCain’s choice in picking a young newcomer as a running mate remains to be seen. Voters like you and me will render our judgment on that November 4th.
McCain is probably the smartest of the 4. His academic record at Annapolis was strong. His low rank reflects demerits he received for his issues with authority.
from the wikipedia page:
“Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, McCain entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. There, he was a friend and informal leader for many of his classmates,[9] and sometimes stood up for people who were being bullied.[4] He also became a lightweight boxer.[10] McCain came into conflict with higher-ranking personnel, he did not always obey the rules, and that contributed to a low class rank (894 of 899) despite a strong intelligence.[9][11] He did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he struggled with, such as mathematics.[4][12] McCain graduated in 1958.[9]”
But anyways, Puma PAC is not endorsing McCain — any Puma PAC vote for McCain is a PROTEST vote against the DNC and Obama for their ineptitude and corruption.
No need to remind us that we would rather vote for a good Democrat.
None of the candidates is dumb.
But Barack Obama is the ONLY one who wont make his school records public. The ONLY one.
BillieJo

Wherever possible and to whatever email lists you have, please send out our protest announcement:
Cindy Sheehan for Congress demands that NOT ONE of our tax dollars be used to bail out Wall Street corporate pirates.
Cindy Sheehan for Congress demands a personal bottom-up bail out plan. The Bush crime family plan would cost each and every American (regardless of political party) over 2300.00 to help rescue an irresponsible and greedy industry that is failing because of unregulated speculation and predatory lending and trading practices.
This is our money, people, and if we don’t speak up loudly to have our voices heard, we are participating in the biggest robbery in American history. We may as well be driving the get-away car. A crime of historic proportions is about to be perpetrated that you know will go unpunished by the complicit Democrats. The evidence is clear: this incestuous corporate/government co-operation throws it in our face once again that the establishment elite are in it together—against We the People.Nancy Pelosi (D-SF) is not the only Congress member that receives money from these industries or is invested in these same indstries, in a clear conflict of interest!
It is not time for a Bi-partisan solution since we know the two party monopoly is only there to protect itself and its cronies. NO, the time is now for a NON-partisan people’s revolution to get to the root of the problem, not throw OUR money at it.
Cindy for Congress is calling for a demonstration tomorrow (9/25) in San Francisco at in front of the Federal Reserve Bank
Where: 101 Market St (Corner of Market and Spear)
When: 4pm to ?
Bring your past-due mortgage bills.
Bring your past-due rent or utility bills.

Bring YOUR BILLS to send to Nancy Pelosi in DC so we can demand that WE THE PEOPLE be bailed out. No “stimulous” plans, but a bottom up, effective approach. (See: Cindy Sheehan for Congress and a Progressive Response to the Economic Crisis).
Bring your Monopoly or other play money that we can burn to symbolize our government’s burning of its fiat currency in wholly inappropriate response to the economy and to show our opposition to the apparent onset of a hyper-inflation cycle.
Above all, bring your righteous and very appropriate anger.
What this government is planning now is the final collapse of our socio-economic system and WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO GET AWAY WITH IT this time!
This is the beginning of WE THE PEOPLE finally standing up and saying:
“Hell, no.”
“Not with my money.”
“Not with my child’s future.”

#120c4hill: With no disrespect intended to you, what you have posted has been seen a number of times on Obimbo bot blog entries for a while.
SMART? If Obimbo represents what you consider smart so be it. Con clever is a better description from my point of view. He has yet to show smart; and being con clever , Machiavellian, and without boundries in what he will say or do are not material I and millions will vote into the White House. Barack Obama is a clever, con man who has perfected the craft, along with the help of Axelrot, of this absolute disdain for the truth. Barack Obama is a fraud. And, this fraud will be defeated .
Would’nt it be a dream come true to have Cindy beat Nancy Pelosi in this year’s election?.. one less dummy in Washington.

Supposedly, there are a little over 300 million people in the USA. So, if they gave each one of us a million dollars, we could all pay our own mortgages and other bills, put kids thru college, etc
And there would still be a ton of money left over.
I think far more than a majority of people is upset and against this bailout (ripoff).

#151 BillieJo,
Unfortunately, I caught the last 2 min. so I missed most of it. I did catch Neil asking her about the “Biden out, Hillary in” rumor … she refused to make any comments about that. Said she won’t allow herself to go there.
——-
Hot damn. I keep seeing that rumor on the net too. On Drudge today too.
I tried going to the McCain site to blog some info over there…………… it is worse blogging on that site than any day it is here. Also, you can’t post any url links unless you write them in text and can only use a dot. And you can’t even use the word ‘sucks”…….. I gave up.
I know, I know I should not let the bots make me so angry but I did it anyway. Here is my post to the ranters on ABC’S Political Radar.

I’m thinking of the same thing. Hellsbells! Alaska is peaceful compared to lower 48, as long as you’re not lazy you’ll survive in Alaska even during harsh winter. BTW, we’re late now, we should have been there month of June, can salmon, veggies, hunt for moose (Sept 1-21). I don’t want to go up north to hunt for caribou.

#167 murphy — to answer #120 c4hill
Palin had already answered the question of what McCain’s past accomplishments were — but near the end of the interview — Couric states, “Not to belabor the point,” (translation: let me belabor the point until you run out of ideas in my “gotcha” question)… and then she continues to ask, “What other accomplishments can you specifically name that McCain has done during his years as a Senator.” Since Palin had already mentioned previous and numerous accomplishments in the previous questions asked, Palin at this point exhausted by Couric’s condescending attitude to persist down this road simply stated, “I’ll get back to you on that one.”
Typical of the media to play that sound bite over and over but not the previous answers in which Palin listed accomplishments.

BLANKLEY: Media covering for Obama
Obama remains unknown
Tony Blankley
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
OP-ED:
The mainstream media have gone over the line and are now straight out propagandists for the Obama campaign. While they have been liberal and blinkered in their worldview for decades, in 2007-08 for the first time, the major media are consciously covering for one candidate for president and consciously knifing the other. This is no longer journalism — it is simply propaganda. (The American left-wing version of the Volkischer Beobachter cannot be far behind.) And as a result, we are less than seven weeks away from possibly electing a president who has not been thoroughly and even half way honestly presented to the country by our watchdogs — the press.
http://washingtontimes.com/staff/tony-blankley/
IDEAL TIME TO PUT SOME PRESSURE ON MC CAIN AND USE SOME LEVERAGE
I know he’s not on the Finance Committee, so not sure exactly what kind of leverage he has in this current financial mess. BUT, assuming he has some, even if mainly symbolic, this seems like an ideal opportunity to try to pull him a bit more our way. Why just hand him a vote, when we (we – those already knowing they’re voting for him, and pleeeeeease let this not open up debate about who we’re voting for) can make the case to him about some of our values. I’m not trying to sell my letter (post #117), but just trying to encourage everyone to think strategically as much as possible.
191 Billie Jo – Thanks for posting that. Great to see Blankley’s piece made it to the Washington Times. It was printed in full in Rasmussen yesterday (not sure if you saw that post). That piece really needs to circulate. It’s so right on!

It may be posted already, but Cindy Sheehan is asking everyone to send an estimate of their debt at:

I’ve been seeing lots of reports of how scary Cindy Sheehan is too… will we have an option other than those two…cause I don’t want either one in there.
I hate to say this — cause gosh I hated his guts when he was speaker of the house — but how crazy is it that all of a sudden — people like Newt Gingrich makes sense to me. More so than the Democrats. I almost wish Newt was still speaker.
Also as a side note: I hope everyone is aware that Obama really doesn’t want a resolution on this financial crisis. I’m sure this was part of his plan along with his buddy Ayers (and other Islamic terrorists) to contribute to the fall of the US “Empire” (as they like to refer to us). Obama wants to take our financial system a part and in the process — profit from it financially on a personal level. So not only is he in an uncomfortable position of being forced to be a part of the solution — but he’s got to appease his radical friends by still being a part of the problem. Should be interesting.
Thank goodness McCain will be a first hand witness…
…and I if I were McCain… I would have Secret Service guarding his food and drinks since I fear Obama might stoop to poisoning the man or slipping him drugs. Obama is having many groups come out with Ads that attack McCain’s health. Obama has a history of having easy access to drugs. I know I sound paranoid but I’m just fearful when I connect the dots and know what Obama is capable of.

From Bloomberg:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aSEtGBXG0C0s&refer=us
“Pelosi, in her most recent financial disclosure form, reported that her husband owned between $250,000 and $500,000 of stock in AIG, which ceded majority control to the U.S. government this week in exchange for $85 billion of loans.
Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, disclosed that his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, had more than $2 million of AIG stock at the end of 2007, when shares were worth $58.30. AIG has fallen 85 percent this week to close yesterday at $2.69. The lawmakers’ aides didn’t respond to calls seeking comment.
Altogether, 56 senators and representatives had stakes in AIG, Lehman, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bear Stearns Cos. or IndyMac Bancorp Inc. — some of the biggest casualties of the market bloodbath — according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The most recent annual disclosure filings list investments as of Dec. 31, 2007, and reveal the size of holdings only within a range of values. “

ATTENTION PUMAS
The media has a deficit of information! Yes, while we all know what’s going on, I heard O’reilly and others claim that they did not know things that we have in our blogs!
Everyone needs to mail their postings to the media as well as posting them here! Make a point to cut and email your posts to the media! Go to the action center and get the email addresses. Also mail to newspapers in swing states. What they don’t know, is helping Obama!
I just couldn’t believe it when O’reilly mentions that he doesn’t know anything about major issues we are discussing here! Our stuff isn’t making it onto the news, because we aren’t reporting it.
It only takes 2 seconds to send something. We all think that others are doing it, and apparently we aren’t!
#205blueblue gal: I don’t know. But would I sound cyncial if I never believed that people from either party who are required to do that do not know what is going on with their trust? I just never believed that. Insider trading is a common practice. People talk all the time regarding money issues. I just never believed and never will that anyone in political life who must do this, does not know anything about anything regarding their money. Others know….apparently…or Sheehan is just blowing smoke….? So how could others know?
Smoke or the truth?
Schieffer: Paulson Pleaded for McCain to Save Bailout
By Mark Finkelstein (Bio | Archive)
September 25, 2008 – 07:53 ET
So much for a “stunt.”
John McCain got involved in the bailout negotiations after Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson told Sen.
Lindsey Graham yesterday that the bailout plan would fail unless McCain came in and brought balky Republicans aboard. That’s what Bob Schieffer reported on this morning’s Early Show. Schieffer’s account stands in stark contrast with the allegation by Dems like Barney Frank and their MSM cohorts that McCain’s moves of yesterday were nothing more than a political “stunt.”

NEWS ALERT
from The Wall Street Journal
Sept. 25, 2008
Congress reached an agreement in principle on a $700 billion package to bail out the financial industry, leaders from both parties said Thursday. They plan to present the deal to the White House later Thursday, hoping for a vote within days. Lawmakers said there were few hurdles remaining. “There really isn’t much of a deadlock to break,” said Democratic Rep. Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. Republican Sen. Bob Bennett said the plan is one that can “pass the House, pass the Senate (and) be signed by the president.”

SUBJECT: JOHN MCCAIN’S 2005 HOUSING REGULATORY REFORM ACT
Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005
Bill Summary:
1/26/2005–Introduced. Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 – Amends the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 to establish:
(1) in lieu of the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), an independent Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Agency which shall have authority over the Federal Home Loan Bank Finance Corporation, the Federal Home Loan Banks, the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac); and
(2) the Federal Housing Enterprise Board. Sets forth operating, administrative, and regulatory provisions of the Agency, including provisions respecting:
(1) assessment authority;
(2) authority to limit non-mission-related assets;
(3) minimum and critical capital levels;
(4) risk-based capital test;
(5) capital classifications and undercapitalized enterprises;
(6) enforcement actions and penalties;
(7) golden parachutes; and
(8) reporting. Amends the Federal Home Loan Bank Act to establish the Federal Home Loan Bank Finance Corporation.
Transfers the functions of the Office of Finance of the Federal Home Loan Banks to such Corporation. Excludes the Federal Home Loan Banks from certain securities reporting requirements. Abolishes the Federal Housing Finance Board.
The bill introduced in 2005 — John McCain sponsor.
Get this out to everyone you know and prove:
That Obama is a liar and blaming the republicans for our financial crisis when the record shows that it was the democrats including Obama and Biden, that voted against regulatory reform. They blocked this bill from passing!
Democrat Barney Frank was very vocal speaking out against regulatory reform in 2005/6. Democrats Barney Frank and Chris Dodd chair the banking and finance committees. However, where were they during the buildup to this crisis? They had ample warning from John McCain and Alan Greenspan in 2005/6 and did nothing. They fought against regulatory reform of Freddie and Fannie which lead to the root cause of America’s financial crisis on wallstreet. Their incompetence is obscene!
Now we look to them to solve the problem? With their record, its no wonder they’re stumbling all over themselves trying to blame the Republicans and trying to force them to vote with them to share the blame for this bailout.
Even Bush tried to pass regulatory reform in 2003 and the democrats blocked them.

“…I heard O’reilly and others claim that they did not know things that we have in our blogs!”
As a regular FOX viewer, I will say with some degree of certainty that Bill O. is an entertainer, not a credible news vehicle. If he paid attention to this blog and maybe 5 others, he wouldn’t be three or four days behind with information that most bloggers already know. Unfortunately, I can say that for most of the MSM as well. It bothers me when I watch cable news and find myself yelling at the screen because of the stupid arguments they make. They all seem very uninformed compared to many blog sites.
SHORT AND SWEET LETTER TO THE MEDIA READY-TO-GO
—————————————————–
To all interested parties:
I hear little-to-no reporting in the media regarding rampant caucus fraud that occurred during the Democratic primaries. This issue is of profound concern to me as a voter as I fear that corrupt party practices could skew the general election.
In wondering why I have heard so little about this, I thought that, perhaps, the media is unaware of the widespread fraud that occurred. If so, I am forwarding a link to a web site where you can read the meticulous research of Dr. Lynette Long, who analyzed each of the 14 caucus states and transcribed the testimony of countless voters.
Here is the link to Dr. Long’s web site should you want to cover this very important story, particularly as the general election looms on the horizon:

Thank you, in advance, for your interest and your attention to this matter.

I wouldn’t trust anything O’Reilly is reporting. Hannity will report information that we have posted on PUMA blogs. He and others at fox (such as Hemmer, Kelly, Greta, Michelle Malkin, Michael Steele, and many others) are reporting our stories. But if you remember that just before BO did an interview with O’Reilly — there was a meeting with Murdock, and a few others from FOX. My guess is that O’Reilly struck a deal to be more lenient (resembling the other in-the-tank MSM people). He tries to walk a fine line of appearing balanced but he leans more towards glossing over BO’s bad points (if you’ve listened to his narratives lately).
So my point is — don’t worry about it. O’Reilly is a lost cause (always was actually). His substitute Laura Ingraham is great though… and there are still others on FOX who are true to getting out the truth.
nhforhillary – why don’t you package up that info and draft a letter? you’ve got great material to work with.

DEBATE CAN WAIT
I just have to say it. Who cares about a debate, now? It’s just not a priority right now, but a distraction! Who can truthfully say that a debate is more important than a financial crisis that could affect every man, woman, and child in our country?
A president has to be able to set priorities and apparently John McCain thinks that his country is worth a little extra time while Obama would prefer not to get his hands dirty. Obama seems to prefer nice little phone chats over hard work. It’s not surprising though because senator Obama doesn’t even know how the senate works, in his own words, and is not qualified to be president. Nothing would change if he was president. I think we are all exhausted by his endless talking. I for one am happy to think that Obamas dog and pony show debate of rhetoric will be delayed.
I’m concerned with my future and how this crisis will affect my family. I want a president that cares enough to be “hands on”. McCain wants “fiscal responsibility and restraints on spending” and Obama wants to spend, spend, spend, to save the world. The world can wait, while we get our house in order first!
In my opinion, Obama is showing that he is political “COWARD” in a time of crisis. I’ll vote the hero over the zero. John McCain has common sense that even Harvard can’t teach to Obama.

A few minutes ago I was at the grocery store where ,outside, the newspaper headlines screamed “Recession” if the bailout doesn’t pass. I wondered, ‘Well what happened to the one we are already in?
Media and newspapers are saying EVERYONE is for the bailout when nothing could be further from the truth.
Only those who have been intimidated into thinking they lose their jobs or houses are for it.
Everyone else knows it competes with the Iraq War for the crime of the century.
Both brought to us by the Bush Crime Family.

HE voted against the minumum wage

equal pay for equal work
and doesn’t realize that we cannot “win ” the war in Iraq
———
John McCain could not vote for or against equal pay for equal work since it was passed in 1963 and he was not a legislator at the time. The Equal Pay Act was signed into law by President Kennedy in 1963.
I think the war in Iraq was one of the biggest mistakes Bush and Congress made. In the last election, the voters diselected a lot of legislators who supported this war and, yet, it goes on thanks to Congress. I think a lot of legislators have money invested in this war. I know Senator Feinstein’s husband got a multi-million dollar contract to do work there. Who knows who else?
I was in favor of pulling our troops home right away, but have changed my mind about that. I have many Muslim neighbors who originally lived in many countries in the Middle East and even though they were against the invasion of Iraq, they and I are concerned about what will happen to the Kurds especially if we leave too soon. I just don’t want the slaughter of millions of Iraqis on my conscience. We have already done enough to them. I am just as irritated about the Iraq War as you seem to be, but what do we do now that we have created this mess? I don’t think either presidential candidate will pull our troops out too soon.

Alan Greenspan warned of impending disaster with Frannie and Freddie
Why is no one interviewing Alan Greenspan on his take?
There is an interesting piece on Bloomberg.com that is dated September 24 (NY time) by Kevin Hassett. He mentions Alan Greenspan in the 11th paragraph quoting his (Greenspan’s) warning back in 2005 of impending disaster with Fannie and Freddie.
A bill came out of the Senate Banking Committee (S.190) which gave power for a crackdown and required companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets. In 2005,2006, and 2007 there was a flurry of bad mortgage paper out of Fannie and Freddie burying some old institutions.
But guess what, the bill never became law because the Democrats opposed in on a party-oline vote in the committee.
Three of the many people who protected Fannie and Freddie were none other than: Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd. All three received financial support from them over the years, to-wit: Obama $125,000; Dodd $165,000; Clinton $75,000. Payoff to the helpers who aided in killing the bill.
The zinger: John McCain was one of the three cosponsors of Senate 190, the bill that apparently would have helped averted this mess.
Please read the Bloomberg.com article by Kevin Hassett and then look up the bill and decide for yourself.

The good news on the web site that Notyoursweetie posted is that great commentary about Bill Clinton giving McCain his due and even go so far as to wisely note that it was McCain who was calling for MORE debates for months so it’s hardly fair to suspect his motives now. Also love the heading in the side bar about “Moose is now someone black or a Jew”. I think I’m going to be visiting that web site a bit more often!

TURN ON FOX CHANNEL THEY ARE GONNA COVER THAT CONGRESSMAN HASTINGS WHO MADE HORRIBLE NASTY COMMENT ABOUT PALIN….
Why is it that no one mentions AIG? I could care less about Fannie and Freddie. John McCain said two years ago that Fannie and Freddie were in deep trouble. That something should be done immediately. It wasn’t.
All of you are saying you don’t want to bail out the big money people…
What about the innocent, middle class people who have their insurance with AIG? How about those whose companies invested their pensions in AIG?
They can’t live on SS. They worked hard for their pensions. They count on them to pay daily expenses..
What do you say to them?
The stupid Republicans are the ones that are holding up the “almost” agreement that was handed to the President today..
They will cost John McCain this election. He can’t control his party the way the corrupt group of Dems can.
Great! We end up with nobama as POTUS, and many millions of seniors lose their pensions, their homes, everyone they have..
Don’t you just love the Government of the people, by the people and for the people???

This is what keeps me up for so many nights. Some people still do NOT see it, lose this important status, USA will love its leverage in the world market and that’s a fact!

US ‘will lose financial superpower status’
By Bertrand Benoit in Berlin
Published: September 25 2008 11:55 | Last updated: September 25 2008 20:28
The US will lose its role as a global financial “superpower” in the wake of the financial crisis, Peer Steinbrück, German finance minister, forecast on Thursday in the most outspoken comments by a senior European government figure since Wall Street plunged into chaos two weeks ago.
Mr Steinbrück, a Social Democrat and long-time champion of tougher financial market rules, said the US government was to blame for the severity of the crisis because it had resisted European calls for stricter regulation until it was too late.
“The US will lose its status as the superpower of the world financial system” with the emergence of stronger, better-capitalised centres in Asia and Europe, he told the German parliament. “The world will never be the same again.”
His comments echo deep anger in Germany at the perceived recklessness of Anglo-Saxon financial engineering and a feeling that the US model of economic liberalism has failed while the more regulated, long-term oriented and industry-based German economy has proved more resilient.
“Ten years from now,” he later told journalists, “we will see 2008 as a fundamental rupture. I am not saying the dollar will lose its reserve currency status, but it will become relative.”
The minister said it had been “irresponsible” of the US government to oppose stricter regulation even after the subprime crisis had broken out. This laisser faire ideology, he said, “was as simplistic as it was dangerous … This largely under-regulated system is collapsing today.”
Mr Steinbrück did have warm words for the US’s crisis management in the past fortnight, including the planned $700bn rescue package for the financial sector. Washington, he said, had acted not just in the US’s interest but also in the interest of other nations.
Speaking after Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president and current holder of the European Union presidency, called for an emergency G8 meeting on the financial crisis, Mr Steinbrück said tougher capital market rules were now urgently needed.
His proposals include a ban on “speculative short selling”; a crackdown on variable pay for bankers; a ban on banks securitising more than 80 per cent of any asset they hold; international standards making bank managers personally responsible for their trades and increased supervisory co-operation.
He said France and Germany would set up a working group of treasury, central bank and supervisory authority officials.

I will NEVER trust the Democratic Party again when it comes to Economics, they’re a complete FAILURE. They’re like Hollywood, looks good on the outside but rotten inside.
correction: lose its leverage
#273 catsrlove It’s my understanding that everyone who has insurance with AIG will be fine. Their financial problems will not affect insurance claims. Though, would guess it will affect companies who invested their pensions. Investment is a gamble. Unfortunately, some of us who have worked all their lives are not luck enough to have a company pension plan in the first place.

If he didn’t know, was he trying to defraud the construction company, think they had just forgotten to bill him? Did he think it wasa gift from the construction company, just ’cause?

290 Anna7000 take care Anna – did he GOP site help with the fraud?
#289 ipotter
Yes, I read it earlier. There’s a problem in Hongkong right now which is not common here in USA or being done – bank run. This also rattles the asian market, Europeans are angry with USA. Greenspan have been warning Congress we need regulation but none of them pay attention to that, in fact Barney Frank, Chairman of Finance Committee was against it. This is the problem when you allow Democrats to be majority in Congress, they have the habit of screwing up the economy. Democrats are never known for fiscal conservatism, but they’re known as BIG SPENDER who lives on credit card. This is bad for USA if bailout is not agreed before the week is over, USA will lose its leverage in the world market heavily. It will affect all of us regardless if the person has a bank account or have 401K or have home mortgage to pay.
“says most important thing to do is go to the debate”
Right. To heck with the money crisis… who cares if we head off a depression… ” i wanna be a stahhh”.
DWP,
The only one who cares for stupid debate are koolaid drinkers who still live with their parents. Majority of us are more worried about the economy. I couldn’t careless about debate right now, I want Congress and the Whitehouse to have resolution for the bailout within 24 hours.
Sure can Anna he said the quote “If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” said Hastings. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.” Then Brit Hume said after he said that the room was filled with applause and laughter. That was about it so all the people he was speaking to found this funny. That was about it(I believe he said national Jewish committee or something like that).

I see a new post photo coming from our graphic artist.
Why in the world NObama was gritting his teeth in in the pic in the Whitehouse? He looks like a turkey got soak in the rain. Bloody freaking Walking Eagle looks so pathetic!
Just hours after key lawmakers said they had reached agreement on a set of principles regarding the proposed $700 billion economic bailout, a high-level meeting at the White House apparently illustrated otherwise. Sen. Richard Shelby, ranking Republican on the Senate Banking Comittee, emerged from the White House to declare of the bailout plan: “It will not solve problems, it will create more problems.”
Want to see what Bo was doing yesterday instead of getting off his ass?
He was injecting some politics at a rally in Dunedin, Fla., Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008.

Bogus Poll Intended to Boost Obama
The recent Washington Post-ABC poll is a textbook example of how partisan media outlets manipulate “news.”
As we enter into the final month of the election, we will be bombarded with all sorts of information intended to sway our votes. We will, of course, be inundated with television commercials, direct mail pieces, radio ads, and automated phone calls. But we will also be subjected to numerous polls, many of which will be just as partisan as the political propaganda the candidates are relying upon.

Fox News/Johmn Gibson Radio show ^ | 9/25/2008 | John Gibson
Former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson STILL advising Obama, Further this was reported by e-mail from Tom Daschle to Democrat insiders to see updates daily on political progress from the campaign, by Tom Daschel and Jim Johnson. Gibson also reported today that Franklin Raines was still advising Obama on housing! As you all well know that Jim Johnson was in charge of Fannie Mae with Franklin Raines. They also were paid very well with Johnson getting in excess of 20 million dollars and Franklin Raines getting 90 million dollars in executive pay.

The Dem Leadership with Pelosi, Reid, etc is too corrupt and selfish to come to a compromise that will actually help the American people. They’re full of shit and they voted against all bills that were submitted to prevent this bs from happening in the first place. Then bozo and his gang go on tv and say how McCain is injecting Pres politics into this. HA! I don’t know how they even sleep at night for all the disgusting lies they tell. Bozo sounds like a puppet when he talks about this crisis with Pelosi’s hand up his butt. He knows NOTHING. He never says anything substantive. Blow hard. Plus, the debate subject Friday night is national security. Yep, McCain is so scared to debate that. haaaaaaa, idiots. A debate can wait a week if a resolution cannot be reached yet. Bozo and the corrupt DNC are the kings of injecting politics into everything.

#326Goofsmom: Great. Goofsmom, may I recommend to you and your husband the two encyclicals written by Benedict..hrist is Love and the other Christ our Hope…
I think those are the titles. They are not very long, are more pastoral in tone and easy to get through no matter one’s background. At the end of each he makes more distinctions between the role of politics and the role of the church in the world. I happen to be one of those Catholics who was not at all happy when he was elected, but I certainly was wrong. He has shown himself to be a pastor, indeed. One can get these at the The Vatican web site. .Don’t have a link now but google it. Yes, it is terrifying, for when one reduces Scriptiure to a political agenda, one is in very dangerous and lost terrritory.
I just heard Obama say that nobody should try to claim credit for the bi-partisan meeting or any of its results. He contends that if nobody claims credit, or does anything to be able to claim political credit, things will go smoother…………………..
So, now that he can’t claim credit, he does not want McCain to get the credit??????????????? What a jerk.

NOBAMA is a junior US Senator like Hillary Clinton. He has no influence whatsoever is the outcome of the discussion nor does he have a voice, while McCain has influence, he’s a Senior US Senator. The ONLY reason NObama was invited in the Whitehouse out of courtesy, but when it comes to discussion meat of the problem, he’s a wall decoration. Even Hillary Clinton who is longer in the US Senate than NObama was not invited in the meeting, it is ONLY for Senior US Senators and people like Nancy Pelosi and Committee Chairmen.

The plans for this forum have been underway for more than a year and a half. The CPD’s mission is to provide a forum in which the American public has an opportunity to hear the leading candidates for the president of the United States debate the critical issues facing the nation. We believe the public will be well served by having all of the debates go forward as scheduled.”
BO’s Berg Reply
I have a Pacer Account and looked up the Berg Case. Sure enough, BO filed for dismissal based on much BS. He cited dismissal of a case against Bush/Cheney and the suit his O’bots filed against McCain for being born outside the US. They were dismissed because the judges ruled that the petitioner had no standing.
What will happen is that the judge will decide. But BO has made it plain he is not going to disclose anything. That, in itself, says volumes.
I will email the PDF file to Murphy if you want to ask her for it.

mrpimppoverty is like a chinese fotune cookie, heavens knows what is behind
You know if Bo Bo doesn’t have anything to hide why does he want this case about his BC dismissed? wouldn’t you think he would want to get it out there so it would be over and done with.

#372 The CandyPoem It looks like the Chicago Sun Times would be a good place to send our editorials. Lately they’ve been having negative press against XO.
Drudge Report – Both the Hastings story and the Garden stories are already on the Drudge Reports!!
#364 Headclunker When they cited the case against McCain, I would assume that set a precedent that this judge would base his ruling on. I was hoping something would come of this. I’m praying. I’m in a bad mood all the time anymore because stupid people think Obambi is so smart on the economy. It’s a joke. I would rather Bush declared Marshall Law than to see this empty suit in the WH.
My husband is a retired UAW auto worker he got a phone call today from the local UAW;
Caller: are registered to vote
hubby: Of course
caller: You know we are supporting Obama
Hubby: so I hear
caller: will you be voting for Obama
Hubby: not on your life!
caller: that is your right
hubby: exactly
369 goofsmom He’s a kind soul. He has been in and out of cancer remission for 7 years. This has been his best year ever. He moved here 2 years ago (TX) from Ohio because things looked bad for him. He’s doing so great this year – about 14 months now and no treatments although he has a syringe port permanently on this chest. He’s a sweetie though!
DEADGIRLSRISE: HEY…AS WE SAY HERE,…WHERE YOU BEEN, GURL? You like that image …huh? Good. I do too! Want to join me?
Ok all i need a nap for about an hour or so.Untill i get that artery opened i get very weak and tired. Be back later
Dances – just sent you Iowa – only have New Jersey and Wisconsin and I am retired – glad that New Mexico was done by someone else.
After looking at all these newspapers on line today – doesn’t look good for McCain in many of them according to their own States polls – Michigan has BO up by 13 points -none of the national pollsters show that big of a lead generally from 5 to 8 points -
Today Ashton, Demi and SUPERMAN are out stumping for BO in Iowa —
OK – break time – before finishing -
Good night – have a good evening.
#344goofsmom: You have said so clearly why he can not be trusted in any way. Everyday I pray a lot that the people of this country will be enlightened about the truth. You are welcome!
N.O.W. This is only a part of the email I received back from NOW. What a joke:
NOW will be working hard to get out the vote and highlight critical women’s issues, including dangerous state ballot measures. And the NOW Political Action Committee has endorsed the Obama/Biden ticket, as well as solid women’s rights candidates in critical congressional races across the country.
Please consider what you can do to help in our final push. I look forward to hearing from you.
#363 Thanks for the link to Warner, here is my e-mail to him:
Mr Warner,
As an American, I must say I am stunned by the thought that the presidential debate is still scheduled for tomorrow night.
I would venture to guess had there been a debate scheduled on Sept. 12 2001 everyone would have had the common sense to postpone the debate.
Well, the reality of this situation is just as grave Mr Warner. And sadder because Americans created the financial disaster in which we find ourselves.
I believe that by allowing the debate to go on it minimizes the gravity of the situation. Americans need to understand how dire a situation our financial and economic status is.
I simply cannot understand the resistance to postponing the debate.
I look forward to your enlightening me if you refuse to cancel the debates.

Oxford, Miss., September 24, 2008 – “The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) is moving forward with its plan for the first presidential debate at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss. this Friday, September 26.

NH for Hillary,
I have been sending reports to the media for months. I have sent the Berg lawsuit, the Logan Act info. not too mention my condemnation of the bias. I have sent the info to O’Reilly, Greta V., Megyn Kelly, Lou Dobbs and the general comment section at CNN.
Gypsy – Your post about reassuring your husband that you won’t wind up in jail from what your mailing out cause you send everything out in his name cracked me up!!!!
#167 Murphy The reason BO won’t make his school records public is because the first ones we know about are from Jakarta where he went to school as a Muslim. Who knows where he went after that? It’s unbelievable a man who has no background is being bamboozled by those who turn a blind eye.
WOMEN’S MEDIA CENTER UPDATE
Sent an e-mail to them early in the week to inquire into how they were speaking out against the sexist attacks on Palin. Sent to each executive level person in the org. Not a word back from any of them. What bs.
At 8:30 MommaE is going to have Phil Berg on for an update on his lawsuite.

#390goofsmom: I am so glad. I hope many millions are doing the same. I truly believe we need protection beyond that simply of human efforts against what is rising around us.
390 goofsmom I’ll pass that on to him. He has such a strong faith! He’ll be happy that HE actually gets a message. Thank you both! We are very, very close and my husband just loves him too!
NPR EARLY VOTING REPORT
Just heard a snippet of a piece on NPR (around 4:40 pm pst) about how many states have early voting (around 30 states) policies. Then they focused on Iowa and talked about the long lines at the caucuses and how they want to avoid them. Jumped right into the Obama campaign’s strategy to phone people to vote, to open dozens more voting stations, to encourage early voting. Then jumped to how the McCain campaign is doing things the same way they always have and counting on it working (uh, I don’t know if that’s such a sound assumption). And, all-the-while not a peep about voter fraud. Nothing about ACORN. I consider this to be a central issue that PUMA’s need to push to expose because voter fraud should concern ALL voters.

That’s what I’m talking about.
Drudge has put up over 6 things I have sent them in the past 8 days. From the blog to Dredge.
FOX is going to show new McCain ad next. I hear it is really bad. O’Reilly just warned people about content
#394 Anna7000- I send Women’s Media Center Update an e-mail almost weekly- I send one to Emily’s list too. I am not on NOWs e-mail anymore.
I am pretty fed up by them too.
And listening to all this BS today- that the financial crisis is actually helping BO- this has me seething. And his arrogant act, his theatric “the show must go on…”
My favorite expression these days is WTF???
I am so thankful for all here- I sometimes feel like I am the only one w/ any clarity.
Let’s hope these boneheads make some head-way- these stupid Republicans- what are they trying to do? Do they want McCain to lose as we want BO to lose?
I am feeling sick…

#382Pookie: Ah..another beautiful union man! Please tell him this daughter of an IAM man of 40 years salutes him! I am hopeing that this will be the case with many or most of the rank and file, at least among the more traditional unions like the UAW,IAM, Electricians, Painters, Plumbers, etc. Wonder what he thinks …if that might be the case?
Did you guys see Fox just showed that ad on surgery on McCain…………………….
Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama left a White House meeting, described as at times “contentious,” with no apparent financial bailout deal worked out.
Obama, appearing on CNN’s “The Situation Room” after the meeting, said there “has to be a sense of urgency on the part of everybody. … We’ve got to move rapidly.”
Isn’t this the guy who wanted the debate with mccain to go on? Isn’t this the fool who the President asked to come to the meeting?
He must feel a sense of urgency because he’s afraid he’ll forget his debate lines.
#402goosmom: Me too. My daddy used to talk about a sign in church he remembered…which said…Now that you have prayed about it, get off your knees and do something about it!
405 BillieJo
Yep… what a piece of crap… Where are BO’s medical records… what about Biden’s Anuyerisms???
BO camp denies involvement?? of course
I would not be surprised if numerous union members tell the guy they will vote for BO, then vote for McCain.
407 NewOrleansPuma
I love that church sign! That’s wonderful and right to the point.
399 BillieJo Darn you good!! I was wondering if it was you. That was fast!! Thanks!
Howard Dean’s BROTHER made that ugly youtube, but says he doesn’t know anything about it. Can you sent that one to Drudge Reports?

No matter how remote the possibility, I Think all pumas need to be prepared if Biden goes bye, bye and Hill steps in. Many of us have said that we will not vote for BO under any circumstances, even if Hill runs with him. I know many Dems are still having a hard time with the vote this year and may be swayed at the last minute. I hope not because BO will not have become less arrogant, divisive, corrupt, unthruthful, etc. PUMAs know what he is, and he is toxic for our country. Right!
That ad disgusted me beyond words. I can not imagine any good American who would ever support a candidate whom had any connection with a PAC group who would run such a heinous ad.
Anyone who has ever been touched by cancer in their family should resent this ad….all the way to the polls!
Fox legal blond just said unless there is a real connection to that John McCain skin cancer ad put out by Howard Dean’s brother and Howard Dean, it is all above board legally.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/09/25/liberal-pacs-ready-attack-ad-on-mccains-health/
Looks like PUMAs need to find evidence that the Obama camp or DNC was connected
new post up with more fun from dwp!
take it upstairs!
#414 Not PUMA’s though!! If that should happen we can deal with it.

WE ALL NEED TO GET INTO THE HABIT OF PUTTING GOOD INFORMATION OUT IN THE MEDIA, THE DRUDGE REPORT IS THE ONLY ONE THAT IS FOLLOWING THOUGH RIGHT NOW, BUT YOU HAVE TO PUT IT ON FOX NEWS AND OTHER SITES.
We are well informed here on the blog, but it doesn’t do others any good if we don’t share it. I bet many Democrats would protest if they knew what we know. Many don’t think the stuff they fear is any different than any other election.
PUT stuff on Drudge http://www.drudgereport.com/
Right hand side about half way down, copy/and paste it into the little box. Leave a browser tab or window open so it’s handy.
Another easy place is Fox:

Little box on the left.
Dances- could you please put these two links on the action site?
#398 i hope people are watching out for acorns/obamas dirty tricks with early /absente voting !
i am afrais this is how he may steal the election

Google “Anchormen”. A long list of top achievers who “graduated low” at Annapolis. Mavericks are not always brilliant, but they are the ones who bust through to the top, while all the “high graduators” are percolating to the top of the middle.
So, Obama’s mother dies young from cancer. His alcoholic father meets an early death in a drunk driving accident (after he lost his legs in an earlier drunk driving accident).
McCain’s mother is a sharp 96 that travels the world.
McCain HAS released over 3000 pages of his medical records and has been given a clean bill of health.
Obama has released ONE page of his medical history, and we have no clue about what kind of health this smoker is in.
Again, the Obama campaign has raised an issue on which their candidate seems much more vulnerable on than John McCain.
#120 c4hill,
You wrote:
“the only thing that changed over the last 10 days are his poll numbers-Rick Davis taking 15k/month from fannie until last month(which palin lied to Katie couric about last night-saying he hasn’t had any dealings in 2 years–UNTRUE)”
Ms. Palin did not lie to Ms. Couric. She said she has an “understanding” that Davis recused himself of those dealings.
Here is the transcript to her answer to Ms. Curic constant query about Rick Davis:
Sarah Palin: “My understanding is that Rick Davis recused himself from the dealings of the firm. I don’t know how long ago, a year or two ago that he’s not benefiting from that. And you know, I was – I would hope that’s not the case.”
Katie Couric: “But he still has a stake in the company so isn’t that a conflict of interest?”
Palin: “Again, my understanding is that he recused himself from the dealings with Freddie and Fannie, any lobbying efforts on his part there. And I would hope that’s the case because, as John McCain has been saying, and as I’ve on a much more local level been also rallying against is the undue influence of lobbyists in public policy decisions being made.”
You see, that is what Ms. Palin actually said. She didn’t lie as you have stated. Her understanding was that Rick Davis recused himself from the dealings from the firm. Her “understanding”. Understood?
Then you went on to state:
“Palin couldn’t site one example in which Mccain has wanted any form of regulation”
Here again is the transcript regarding what you didn’t read clearly:
Couric: “You’ve said, quote, “John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business.” Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?”
Palin: “I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie – that, that’s paramount. That’s more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.”
Couric: “But he’s been in Congress for 26 years. He’s been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.”
Palin: “He’s also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he’s been talking about – the need to reform government.”
Ms. Palin did, indeed, offer one example of reform by McCain– that of stricter regulations on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which was already a well known fact about him to the general public. She simple could not list others at the time (No big deal I might add. Curic looked the fool on that line of questioning).
As for these other musings of yours about McCain:
“He wanted to privatize SS and healthcare–seriously.”
Some like that some don’t.
“HE voted against the minumum wage childrens healthcare, equal pay for equal work and doesn’t realize that we cannot “win ” the war in Iraq.”
There is proper context to everything. McCain is a good man who loves his country more than himself. He loves children, even adopted one, who wouldn’t deny them their needs, doesn’t feel threatened by strong women either (i.e. Palin, Mrs. McCain and his mother).
As for the war and your term of “cutting our losses”. I take it you mean soldiers. Well, I’ll not comment on your phrasiology of Americans who have, according to you, sacrificed their lives in vain.
Again, McCain is a good man… better than any candidate of principles I’ve seen this year. Trust him to know your pain because he’s been there in his own way. He’ll do what’s best for all Americans for it’s they he cares for the most in life. Whatever he can’t help you with, c4hill, then help yourself.
At least read stuff about McCain and Ms. Palin more closely, accurately and objectively. Both these people should look better to you if you’ll just try.
http://wcco.com/national/palin.couric.interview.2.824872.html
Newt on Hannity and Colmes … totally slamming the bailout plan that they were trying to push through today. He said that he read the plan and that their plan stinks. Newt’s making some great points.
#423 Max:
I’m pretty sure c4hill is an Obamabot TROLL, not a PUMA. But it’s nice of you to try to school her.
Just posted for the first time on the McCain site_they’re flipping out about ACORN somehow getting funds out of this bailout. We MUST contact our reps to protest this outrage if it’s true! Do you know??
