Barack Obama’s My Pet Goat Moment

So, first McCain outflanks him by pulling an unplanned Demonstration of Leadership. Then Obama tries to dig in his heels and somehow make, “Call me if you need me” a palatable political response to the financial crisis bearing down on our economy like Katrina approaching Lake Pontchartrain (feeling inspired yet!?). And THEN, Obama gets schooled by George Freaking W Bush?? George Bush is calling Obama back to Washington? Obama is like every numbskull teenager getting a call on their cell from an exasperated parent: Get your butt home here right now to do your homework! Buster, you need to get your priorities straight!

Boy, oh boy. Obama pwned by Bush? There is only one word for Obama and the nitwits at the DONC:AMATEURS.

Searching for “My Pet Goat” images earlier, I came across this one and found it quietly moving. You know Folks, sometimes leadership actually matters. We really, really don’t want another George Bush in the White House.

Katie Couric’s DISGUSTING interview with Palin. I say disgusting because she is pushing her ways that nobody would even dream of pushing “the one”. Grrrrrrrrrrr……….!

hey goofsmom —

we may be alone here for a while as Pumas try to make it upstairs. This may be difficult because somehow I managed to turn the Up Staircase into a Down Staircase. It was a miracle.

I for one am stunned by Obama’s inadequacy. He really IS an Amateur. And so are his handlers.

Re-post from downstairs.

#332 lillibet,

Nice letter.

Did you know that Greta’s husband was a big Hillary fundraiser and traveled with Hillary during her campaign? He feels just like we do. He’s won’t support Obama and is now campaigning for McCain.

I think deep down Greta probably feels just like we do, but she is one of the few show hosts left who is really fair and balanced and no one knows who she supports.

I had no idea until I saw her husband interviewed on another TV show, that her husband was that close to the Clintons.

#6 goofsmom on 09.25.08 at 12:11 am

Hey Murphy –

He really missed the boat on this one. For someone who is supposed to know so much more about economics than McCain, “O” really pulled a stupid stunt.

Then there’s Kerry saying that McCain is “erratic”

Huh????

#7 TexasTigress on 09.25.08 at 12:11 am

repost:As far as Bush calling Obama to DC , you guys are missing the most important aspect of that … When MC suspended his campaign , he called on President Bush to ‘convene a meeting between the leadership of congress and both candidates in DC to work out a plan” THAT is why Bush told Obama to go to DC – BECAUSE MC TOLD HIM TO .
Now THAT is cool .

MCCains suspension speech . At 1:41 on the video is where he “calls on the President” to convene a meeting with the leadership and himself and Obama ..

#347 Indy,
Greta just reported tonight that one of the main reasons Hillary supporters won’t vote for Obama is because of race.

Still like Greta?

She’s an OK (read: Average) reporter, at least I thought so up till tonight.. Now I wonder why she finds it so hard to read all of the many many emails & postings I KNOW my fellow PUMA’s have made / sent to FOX.

Anyway I am tired & off to bed now. I just wanted to drop in and tell everyone please don’t fall into bed w/FOX news OR give yourselves fully over to the Republican Party.

We all want to make the best out of a bad situation but after watching FOX tonight I can see for the most part, they do not give a whit about reporting on PUMA’s views on the election. Don’t kid yourselves, FOX news really doesn’t care about PUMA except whatever it can do for their ratings.

goofsmom – almost as cool as being first on the thread !! lol :) Night !

#12 indy on 09.25.08 at 12:15 am

The reason FOX and O’Reilly changed towards Obama, is because they had a big meeting. Ailes, Murdoch, O’Reilly and Obama.

Obama said he would only go on FOX if they made a truce with him and wouldn’t rip him any more. I don’t know if they signed anything, but I think that’s the reason.

I really only watch Hannity now, because he still gets on Obama about Ayers, etc.

#13 goofsmom on 09.25.08 at 12:15 am

Night TexasTigress… ;)

#14 KarenWI on 09.25.08 at 12:16 am

I just couldn’t believe what I heard on Greta tonight… that – once again- RACE is the reason the Hillary supporters won’t support BO? What is wrong with these guys??? Why can’t they see what an unqualified, terrible candidate they have there? Why can’t they see how he’s treated women, how he can’t take a stand on anything and stay there, how his choices in friends and advistors are terrorists and anti-american’s? What is wrong with their eyes that they can’t see? I just don’t get it… RACE is the reason! Race is probably less than 1% of the reason! On the OTHER hand, race IS the reason that over 90% of the AA are voting for him. Why doesn’t that count as “racially motivated”? Oh, I get it… if it ISN’T race, make it that; if it IS race (AA for AA), then cover it up. Right?

#15 murphy on 09.25.08 at 12:17 am

That’s it! I am not going back to Washington until somebody tells me that dwp’s image of Obama as Bush caught in the headlights on 9/11 is dead-on!

;-)

#16 lilibet on 09.25.08 at 12:19 am

Someone suggested a prowl to Greta and since I have been considering writing to her anyway, I decided why wait any longer. The following is what I wrote to Greta.

Dear Greta,

On tonight’s program you were discussing the fact that the percentage of Hillary’s supporters that do not support Obama has not changed since June. We in the PUMA movement are not at all surprised that there is no movement in Obama’s direction. If Obama had won a square and fair primary, most of us would have been sad, but we would have supported the legitimate nominee. The fact that Obama had been selected by Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, the DNC to be the nominee from the start of the primary season and did nothing to assure a valid primary selection in the face of massive fraud especially in the caucus process and the fact that the very people whose job it is to assure the validity of the process, were guilty by omission when they witnessed the outrageous treatment of Senator Clinton by the MSM and they were strangely silent, not one word was said in the defense of the most talented, the most qualified person that the party has been blessed with probably since Roosevelt.

Greta, if you would really like to know all the reasons why Hillary’s supporters have not moved over to support Obama, invite Darragh Murphy, founder of PUMA to discuss the matter with you. She will be able to discuss in depth and clarity what I have outlined here.

Greta, I would also like to tell you that I was always pleased to follow your program on CNN and was therefore saddened when you moved to FOX. You must have seen something in FOX that I didn’t see, but I have now followed you to FOX and always enjoy your daily program.

Sincerely,

Name

#17 hillstheone on 09.25.08 at 12:19 am

Yeah, at least FOX news will speak the truth about Obama’s many shortcomings. However they had a great opportunity to report about something that is REAL tonight, they said “Up Next: Why haven’t Hillary Clinton supporters moved over to vote for Obama?”

They then pointed out the percentage has stayed the same, no increase for Obama since June, but instead of listing out even 2 or 3 of our main beefs, they say “Oh, it’s mostly because of Race!”

Give me an f-ing break. Disappointed doesn’t begin to describe how I felt after waiting through two commercial breaks to watch that!

Thumbs down, FOX news. I hope someone from your network hears from us about this.

First paragraph: “In a revelation tying Barack Obama even closer to radical community organizing, WND has learned that a renowned disciple of the late socialist agitator Saul “The Red” Alinksy wrote a letter of recommendation for Obama when he applied to Harvard Law School.”

#9 hillstheone,

I read what you said. I don’t understand it. She has many Hillary supporters on her blog. She was referring to them not supporting Obama just last week.

Maybe she got the message from Roger Ailes to give Obama talking points, but I doubt it.

Somebody wrote that Obama’s latest talking point that if he loses it must be because of racists, is very dangerous. Because Obama and his campaign can be agitating and cause riots in the streets if he loses.

This is a fitting narrative by the Chosen one – It is about a Goat that spoke to him. It isn’t a nail baiter. Let’s say this is the first Act. The Goat is set to reappear to him and once it does, I will post my commentary. Here it is
Here is my storyline.

I am a blessed one to be born to people of all races and geography and in me you can see snippets of the world’s microcosm.
I live in the land of the free world and dream my dreams. One day a goat spoke from heaven while I was looking askance at the sky – no not for rain, not for clouds, not for star gazing but for mere thought of what would it be to fill the sky with people that follow me and listen to me.
A little distracted that I was, I had to but pause my dreaming (and as a person that seldom listens to fellow beings what can I say of an animal from sky speaking to me – creeps me out like brother Eddie Murphy movie).
The Goat also happened to originate from Eastern Africa with nomadic ties that lead up the dunes of the sand where brother gold is now extracted and extractors of brother gold laugh their way to the banks, I am told.
This is what the goat said ‘You are the chosen one to speak to the world at large and get them all to follow you and the curse of the Onayoma tribe shall be healed. You will, though an empty suit, command that you have all that it takes and people will believe you as long as you keep talking out of your perils. You will one day pretend to want to rule the world and do all you can to get people early, get them young and use modern day communication tools to connect with people. You will also have the modern day brain device you will read off. Do not discard that device cause that is your only talisman’. Though you will marry a person in flesh and blood, you are destined consider the entire world and its government your prized bride.’
The goat finally finished up saying ‘I will come back again to talk to you when you are truly done talking. Best of Luck and as a Goat curse from Masai sheep beware the PUMAS’.
So in my pursuit of seeking my bride, I travelled around 57 states and am still waiting to visit the Frontier State.
All my sycophants fixed up my wedding on a Friday at a balmy Florida vacation spot. I had taken a 5 day time off to script, edit, memorize and deliver my acceptance ‘Yes, I can/do’ piece. A few days before the wedding was to take place, my bride (Congress a.k.a coterie from Chesapeake Bay) had a monumental task to press the buzzer on a world issue and my bride alone could provide semblance of sanguinity to the act of pressing the buzzer. My fellow work mate but rival in the pursuit of my dream seems to want to have the wedding postponed so he could go and help the bride press the buzzer. I just want to get married though but my rival is proving again that he is out of touch. But If I don’t go now to help my bride too, I will soon be called out of touch.
Before I look up the sky again, I would like to talk to my sycophants one more time (300 of them) and decide if I need to be at the buzzer pressing ceremony of if I still need to wear my Greek Tuxedo…
Hey wait a minute before I get to hear from the Goat again, I get called by the current ruler of the free world to come help heal the world issue by helping my bride press the buzzer. Now I really cannot say not to that and just like the million times I flip-flopped on silly things, I agreed to go and mark present.
I will come back and report my findings and will send you all a text message on your cell phones perhaps at 3 a.m. Friday. So long until then and Hail the TELEPROMPTER!

I didn’t see Greta’s program tonight….but I am shocked she would have said that. It just doesn’t sound like Greta. I’m really confused by this. Are you sure she was saying what she believed and not just repeating some stupid poll results. A while back she said she thought her sight had been attacked by some suspicious phenomenon when they received something like 25,000 emails in a very short period of time.

I’d love to know who these “racists” are. So far I have NOT met or overheard or seen one person who claims they wouldn’t support Obama because of race. Where are these people?

#294 BillieJo on 09.24.08 at 11:05 pm

Okay, I don’t know if anyone reported this from Greta on Fox News, this guy Alan Warms from Yahoo News said their poll of the same 2000 Clinton supporters as poll in June…

58 % will vote for Obama
42 % unchanged will not vote for him ‘at this point’
They think we are undecided, and they also said
– Sarah Palin had no effect on this group of people
– Biden had no effect on this group
– Most do not think Obama is trustworthy

They can’t figure it out and are waiting for the next poll in 3 weeks to make more conclusions.

Also here is the article on the YahooNews website:

http://www.charlottesvillenewsplex.tv/home/headlines/29642144.html

************* MURPHY **********

***************************************

I propose a PUMA Pac Prowl tomorrow to write and let these people know why we will not vote for Obama, and also some of us can either choose to write the same info Murphy writes or add our own story of why we won’t vote for BO.

Here is one email address on the article to write the author: mark.tenia@wcav.tv
It would be great if someone could track down Alan Warms email to include on the email too, also Greta at Fox news: gretawire@fox.com,
and any other news sites we want to include on the prowl.

TOPIC: FOX NEWS

OK all you Big FOX NEWS Fans, answer me this. How come on their news story tonight about “Clinton supporters who still won’t vote for Obama – same percentage as June” – FOX announced one of the main reasons all these Clinton supporters won’t vote for Obama is because of Race? As in, racism??!!!
_____________________________

To be fair it was the AP/Yahoo researcher who attributed it to race, not Greta, and if I recall the comment came at the end of the interview otherwise she may have challenged that conclusion.

As BillieJo and Mick suggested earlier we (the immovable HRC supporters) need to contact that researcher and AP/Yahoo and give him our suggestions as to why we will not be voting for BO. Also while it is currently on the radar at FOX send more of those letters again (see llibet’s great letter above).

Yes, I cannot believe I am watching FOX but there is no-one else that is tolerable. I agree – still leaves much to be desired but I do believe we have made an impact there and our persistence is paying off. :)

#43 BillieJo on 09.25.08 at 12:37 am

One thing I forgot to mention in the re-post #35…. yes, that guy Alan Warms said the only thing he could think of that is keeping the percentage at NOBO is race, because these people often spoke of Obama in derogatory terms.

#44 BrooklynNY on 09.25.08 at 12:37 am

This whole racist thing is taking on a life of its own….I don’t put a whole lot of faith in it – one way or the other.

Maybe race would prevent a whole lot of people from voting for Obama and race/ageism yada yada yada is playing a whole helluva big deal in influencing other voters too, I’m sure. In the other direction.

But all those “isms” still take a back seat to all those OTHER reasons people are going to vote one way or the other.

BO is being very generous with himself if he thinks the reason people won’t vote for him is race. LOL. It would be so comical if it wasn’t so sad.

KarenWI,

Thanks for the link to McKnight.

I read also that NEWSMAX confirmed that al Mansour, a former Black Panther member and a close friend to the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia, gave Obama money for Harvard.

A friend of al Mansour, Sutton of Chicago said he was asked by al Mansour to write a letter of recommendation for Obama to Harvard.

Last month when this story surfaced, this man from Obama’s campaign called the MSM and said he talked to Sutton’s family and they said it wasn’t true.

NEWSMAX contacted Sutton’s family and said the family never heard of that man from Obama’s campaign. The family said Sutton did write that letter and al Mansour said he was giving money to Obama for law school. In fact, I think al Mansour was going around getting the funds together for Obama.

I find it very interesting that nobama people are saying that canceling the debate friday etc.is a tactic because McCain doesn’t to debate. These people seem to forget that McCain wanted to do 10 town hall forums with nobama where people can ask any question that they want and what did nobama say to this – HE REFUSED!!!!
The same people also like to forget the Saddlebrook debate where McCain did very well. Convenient memory loss is amazing!!!

Former Fannie Mae chairman Jim Johnson was dumped from Obama’s vice presidential search team, but he’s still playing a behind-the-scenes role on the campaign.

I just got a chance to look at this video. You’re right. I wish she would have asked Couric about the even LARGER donations that BO has taken form Freddie and Fannie, instead of trying to defend the piddly amounts that were contributed to McCain.

#88 notfollowinthepiedpiper on 09.25.08 at 2:35 am

I just got an email from a cousin, whom I thought would be 100% behind McCain. Turns out she was undecided until McCain chose Palin. Now she’s voting for Obummer because she doesn’t want “more of the same” and although she likes soccer moms, she doesn’t think one is capable of being president should something happen to McCain. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! How sexist is that? and it’s from a woman– a career woman and soccer mom of her own 2 kids . Go figure! And BO is more capable HOW??????????????

Wizbang dissects a major Gallup fiddle. I can’t wait to see his update for the week of Sept. 19-25!

It seems they’ve been sliding the party weighting up and down to suit the “mood” they detect, or prefer.

For the five most recent weekly reports, here’s where Gallup says the candidates stood:

Aug 21: Obama 45, McCain 44
Aug 28: Obama 48, McCain 41
Sep 04: Obama 49, McCain 42
Sep 11: McCain 48, Obama 44
Sep 18: Obama 48, McCain 44

From that, it appears that a tight race opened up first for Obama, then McCain, then Obama again, with each candidate sitting anywhere from 41 to 49 percent support (not counting margin of error) during that time. Fair enough, but let’s look at their support by party identification, first by Obama:

Liberal Democrat support for Obama – 88% Aug 21, 91% Aug 28, 93% Sep 4 through Sep 18.

Moderate Democrat support for Obama – 78% Aug 21 and 28, 81% Sep 4 through Sep 18.

Conservative Democrat support for Obama – 68% Aug 21, 63% Aug 28, 77% Sep 4, 70% Sep 11, 66% Sep 18

Hmmm. Obama’s support goes up and down, but the Liberal and Moderate Democrat support for Obama has been steady all of September. Odd, isn’t it? And support for Obama among Conservative Democrats went down four points in the last week, even though his overall support is supposed to have gone up four points. How to figure that?

Perhaps it’s in the Independents. After all, if Obama started winning them over, he’d not only be making gains overall but gaining support where he wants it the most.

Independent support for Obama – 24% Aug 21, 29% Aug 28, 23% Sep 4, 29% Sep 11, and 27% Sep 18

Hmmm, again. Obama gained support among Independents in the last month, but he actually lost two points among Independents in the last week. So that 4 point gain overall is still a mystery.

Nothing to do, then, but look at the Republicans. It would really be something if he’s improving support from GOP voters:

Liberal/Moderate Republican support for Obama – 16% Aug 21, 13% Aug 28, 14% Sep 4, 16% Sep 11, 10% Sep 18

Ouch. Obama lost six points among Liberal and Moderate Republicans in the past week.

Conservative Republican support for Obama – 6% Aug 21, 5% Aug 28, 4% Sep 4, 3% Sep 11 and 18

No change there in the past week.

Taken altogether, there is no group of political identification where Obama’s support has increased in the past week. Mathematically, therefore, there is only one way in which Gallup could show an increase in Obama’s overall support, when none of the party identification groups showed improvement for him. I will come back to that in a moment, but the reader should think about it, because it’s very important, that only possible way this could happen.

Before I explain that possibility, I want to look at John McCain’s support by specific party identification groups. The man, according to Gallup, lost four points of overall support in the past week,

Conservative Republican support for McCain – 89% Aug 21, 91% Aug 28, 94% Sep 4 and 11, 95% Sept 18

Interesting. McCain’s support among Conservative Republicans went up a point in the last week. Well, let’s move on:

Liberal/Moderate Republican support for McCain – 75% Aug 21, 77% Aug 28, 78% Sep 4 and 11, 85% Sep 18

Wow, McCain’s support from Liberal and Moderate Republicans climbed by seven points in the past week, and yet we are told his overall support fell by four points? That is very odd, wouldn’t you say? It must have been the Independents, perhaps?

Independent support for McCain – 34% Aug 21, 31% Aug 28, 29% Sep 4, 28% Sep 11, and 32% Sep 18

Stranger and stranger, McCain’s support among Independents went up by four points in the past week, just as his support from Republicans increased, yet we are told his overall support went down by four. Very hard to explain that using the math most of us learned in school, isn’t it? Well, there’s just one place left to look. Maybe somehow McCain used to have significant support among Democrats, but lost it? Let’s find out:

Conservative Democrat support for McCain – 23% Aug 21, 26% Aug 28, 15% Sep 4, 21% Sep 11, 24% Sep 18

Hmpf. Once again, a group where support for McCain went up, but the overall says he went down.

Moderate Democrat support for McCain – 14% Aug 21, 13% August 28, 11% Sep 4, 12% Sep 11 and 18.

Steady there, so that one does not explain it.

Liberal Democrat support for McCain – 6% Aug 21, 6% Aug 28, 4% Sep 4 and 11, 5% Sep 18.

It’s only a point, but again we see McCain’s numbers in this group went up.

So, put it all together, and in the past week Obama has stayed steady or lost support in every party identification group, yet Gallup says his overall support went up four points. And McCain stayed steady or went up in every party identification group, yet we are supposed to accept the claim that his overall support went down by four points? Anyone have an answer for how that is even possible?

Well, actually I do. There is one, and only one, possible way that such a thing can happen mathematically. And that way, is that Gallup made major changes to the political affiliation weighting from the last week to now. Gallup has significantly increased the proportional weight of Democrat response and reduced the weight of Republican response. Bear in mind that this assumes that people change the foundation of their political opinion like a showgirl changes costumes, which has no scientific basis or historical support whatsoever.

So the raw and fairly weighted data say McCain leads by a slowly increasing margin. Sounds right.

#90 BrianH on 09.25.08 at 2:51 am

re: #90 — Oops! Forgot to post the updated/upgraded tables:

Anyway, going back to my earlier piece on party weighting, if we go back and look at the historical track record for the last ten years in terms of self-identified party affiliation from actual exit polls, we see a clear standard of weights; 38.4% Democrat, 35.8% Republican, 26.0% Independent. If we then work them out to fill the liberal/moderate/conservative slots used by Gallup, the following weights have historical validity and may be used as a constant for poll responses:

Liberal Democrat 9%
Moderate Democrat 16%
Conservative Democrat 13%
Independent 26%
Liberal/Moderate Republican 23%
Conservative Republican 13%

If we apply those weights to the poll response, here is what happens to the Gallup polling responses:

August 21: Obama 39.94%, McCain 43.43%, Undecided 16.63%
August 28: Obama 40.04%, McCain 43.60%, Undecided 16.36%
September 4: Obama 41.06%, McCain 41.77%, Undecided 17.17%
September 11: Obama 42.04%, McCain 42.45%, Undecided 15.51%
September 18: Obama 39.62%, McCain 45.71%, Undecided 14.67%

Movement still happens in both sides’ support, but it is more gradual and is consistent with events in both parties. Frankly, it is only reasonable to expect that Democrats largely support Obama while Republicans largely support McCain, and even now there is a significant amount of indecision; between one of six and one of seven voters are not sure who they want. Most of that doubt is with independents, whose support may make all the difference in the key states. Further, the stated levels of support are within the statistical margin of error. It is also interesting to note that both Obama and McCain, in general, are gaining support incrementally, with gains gradually reducing the undecided portion (at the present pace, however, the undecided portion of the vote would still exceed ten percent of the total vote). The latest support level for Obama, statistically, appears to be an outlier, so his next poll may be expected to reflect stronger support. If Obama is in fact losing support, some specific reason would have to be found – it is not reasonable to expect support to diminish without a clear cause.

My letter to gretawire:

Dear Greta,

I am a member of Puma. I am writing because I want a competent journalist to report the actual reasons why I, and others like me, will not vote for Barack Obama in November.

Let me tell you that we Pumas are frustrated and ready to pounce the media if we hear one more time that the reason we are resisting is due to Obama’s race.

Do you honestly believe that our group is comprised of a bunch of racists? The Puma movement is made up of people from all races, economic and educational levels. We are women and men of all ages. We will not vote Obama because of his policies – or lack thereof.

We do not find him trustworthy because of his questionable associates:
Reverand Wright, William Ayers, Tony Rezko. We do not respect his abandonment on issues that he professed to support: FISA, NAFTA.

Whether the main stream media reports it or not, I think there is something fishy about his meeting with Zebari. Why is no one reporting on the possibility of Obama violating the Logan Act?

Why is no one reporting on the Phillip Berg law suit?

Some women in Puma have a great disdain toward Obama for his treatment of Hillary Clinton in the primaries and his refusal to even consider her as his running mate. I am not one of them however, as I feel that she should have been on the top of the ticket. I have hope eternal that she will run again in 2012.

We Pumas also don’t cotten to the fact that Obama pays his female staffers .78 cents to the dollar of their male counterparts.

I find it abominable that Obama would support giving illegal aliens driver’s licenses. Has he not looked into the dismal failure of this policy in states that currently allow this? Not too mention the fact that this is a pathway to voter fraud.

Let’s talk about NAFTA. Obama says it doesn’t work, but his financial advisor gives a wink and a nudge to the Canadian government by advising them that Obama’s statements are just “political posturing”.

Don’t you find it odd that big chunks of his life are strangely unreported? Good grief, we practically know how many cavities Sarah Palin has had filled and if Piper Palin has cheated on a spelling test.

Has anyone in the media ever asked why are so many leaders in the Middle East are so eager to endorse him?

I could go on all day on a variety of reasons why I find this man frightening and absolutely unsuitable to be the leader of the free world.
And you know what? Not a one of them is based on his skin color.

Sincerely,

Name
city,sate

#93 Libby on 09.25.08 at 3:33 am

Nice work BrianH.

I have wondered about the same things regarding the polls and thank you for putting it together.

To the others who watched Greta and commented, I was also very disappointed by Greta. I kept thinking, she Knows the Puma’s stance. and legitimate points so why is she even allowing this guy to say these things without coming down on him with facts?

I used to wonder how women could give up their lives for a cause. Not women politicians. Just women. What it must take for them to do it. I’ve wondered the same about other people who have sacrificed. I get it. When the consequences are too hard to bear you just have to fight.

I am so sorry for the AA community who has been waiting for a person from their community to be president. Why, of all people did it have to be Obama who broke through? A man with so many despicable traits? And the saddest fact is that Obama did not come from their community. He pretended that he did. He spent several years working to look like he was one of the community who could speak for them and then he used them. All that money from Annenberg Chicago Project, Woods Foundation, and the federal money he got for housing did nothing for the community that elected him to office. Took care of Ayers and his friends, and moved Obama up the line, then gave Rezko and others some money, while the community tanked.

But now we are at ground zero, election day is so close, and Obama is suddenly looking like his talking points are scoring points with every news media and poll. I sent Bill O’Reilly clips of Bill Ayers talking to SDS members in colleges in December 2007. Yet he still was hardly hitting the points that Ayers and Obama have a shared mentality. Greta has gone over to the dark side as of her last program, when she didn’t call the Yahoo pollster on his claims that those who were not voting for Obama had racist tendencies.

I don’t want to keep having to defend myself…and it occurs to me that it is exactly what Obama wants. He brings up racial stuff to keep people in a defensive mode so they cannot attack on the hundreds of real issues about him and his campaign.

We can keep hitting on those and thank you Murph for keeping it front and center.

Time to hunker down.

Good Morning,

I’m blogging, drinking my coffee and listening to Morning Joe. I like Joe. However, Mika is getting on my nerves. She’s mad because McCain got one up on Obama yesterday. She thinks they shouldn’t cancel the debates. She’s so in the tank for Obama. Joe lit into her, saying McCain’s doing the right thing, the debate can wait a few days.

The scuttlebutt is that Palin did so-so on the interview with Katie Couric. From the snips I saw, Palin looked OK. Compared to Biden lately, she’s an Einstein. Anybody see it yesterday?

Oh, and Obama is hiding someone behind the curtains, read this:

ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings pointed to Sarah Palin on Wednesday to rally Jews to Obama.

“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” said Hastings. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.”

#104 Lin4Hill on 09.25.08 at 7:12 am

good morning, I’ve just peeked in on my way to work…

Re: Katic Couric’s interview. It is clear that KC wants to continue the “gotcha” moments. She “belabored” the point of asking Palin to name specific pieces of legislation McCain was involved with to help the economy. If she really wanted to know that, she could have asked McCain. It was another test and was delivered with such snobbery, it made me sick to watch her.

Remember, Palin said she wasn’t going to Washington to win the good opinion of the media. She doesn’t have their good opinion (though Hannity finds her “authentic”), and she probably won’t every get it. She and McCain have to fight this with their eyes on the prize because the snarling hyenas are licking their lips.

PUMAs trump hyenas, right?

Re: Former Hillary supporters being labeled racists. This is soooooooo old. Do they actually think calling me a name is going to make me vote for such a lame candidate? I know what I am, and I know what I’m not, and I’m not voting for BO.

This way the entire human race could see just how well Nobama would mop the floor with her… or would they? Maybe Sarah would be the one doing the mopping up. Can you imagine the look on Nobama’s face if he saw Sarah coming up to the podium? Now would be great TV!

I lived in Alaska for 29 years and I hunted moose, and I fished for salmon and halibut. It’s a way of life up there and negative comments about it just show how ignorant these folks are.
I don’t reply to them because I would rather focus on getting facts and info out to the voters. They are the ones that will decide this race. The media will always favor the one with the money. It’s how our society functions now.
Socialism is what the far left is promoting, and socialism is just one stage away from communism. Our country is in bigger trouble than just the financial aspect, and we MUST keep Obama out of the White House.

I can’t get over this statement of NObama:

It is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once,” Mr. Obama told reporters in Florida. “If it turns out that we need to be in Washington, we’ve both got big planes – we’ve painted our slogans on the side of them – they can get us from Washington, D.C., to Mississippi fairly quickly.” </b

The Palin smears are incessant. Unlike with Obama these smears on Palin are lies. With Obama you just have to tell the truth about him. The truth hurts.

Alcee Hastings should keep his mouth shut, read about him:

“Alcee Lamar Hastings (born September 5, 1936) is a member of the House of Representatives representing Florida’s 23rd congressional district (map).

Born in Altamonte Springs, Florida, Hastings was educated at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee; Howard University in Washington, D.C.; and Florida A&M University. He ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 1970, losing in the first primary to Lawton Chiles.

A Representative since 1993 and a Democrat, Hastings was a lawyer and judge of the circuit court of Broward County, Florida and of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (1979 to 1989). He was impeached and removed from office for corruption and perjury. He is only the sixth federal judge to be impeached and removed from office in American history.

Impeachment
In 1981, Hastings was charged with accepting a 50,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence and a return of seized assets for 21 counts of racketeering by Frank and Thomas Romano, and of perjury in his testimony about the case. He was acquitted by a jury after his alleged co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify in court (resulting in a jail sentence for Borders).

In 1988, the Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives took up the case, and Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413-3. Voters to impeach included Democratic Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, John Conyers and Charles Rangel. He was then convicted in 1989 by the United States Senate, becoming the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate. The vote on the first article was 69 for and 26 opposed, providing five votes more than the two-thirds of those present that were needed to convict. The first article accused the judge of conspiracy. Conviction on any single article was enough to remove the judge from office. The Senate vote cut across party lines, with Senator Patrick J. Leahy, Democrat of Vermont voting to convict his fellow party member, and Arlen Specter voting to acquit.”

My, my how things have changed. I say consider the source (Hastings).

Besides, with Obama’s ties to Rezko(Syrian), al Mansour(former Black Panther and close to the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia), his two Pakistani friends now his bundlers, two Iraqis Auchi (arms dealer to Saddam Hussein)& Alsammarae, Palistinian Khalidi (formerly with the PLO)also recipient of two grants for the AAN (American Arabs sympathetic to Palistine & Iran), Ayers, Rev. Wright, McKnight and whoever else I left out, I doubt Obama is sympathetic to the Jews. Words…just words.

Good Morning Pumas.

Received my McCain/Palin sign yesterday and put it beside my Hillary sign. I am not a Republican and this pains me to not have Hillary as the nominee but I will do anything to keep BO out of the WH. He is dangerous.

Also, I have already faxed both McCain’s campaign and Washington offices with Font #24 Bold the following: If anyone wants to fax McCain, I think it would be worthwhile as McCain must come out of this looking better than BO. People are stupid, I still can’t figure out how XO’s numbers are going up because of the economy when he doesn’t know anything about the economy or anything else for that matter.

Latest on the Berg Lawsuit yesterday Obama was to appear in court. This is posted on the official Berg website.

http://obamacrimes.com/

For Immediate Release: – 09/24/08
OBAMA & DNC HIDE BEHIND LEGAL ISSUES WHILE BETRAYING PUBLIC IN NOT PRODUCING A CERTIFIED COPY OF OBAMA’S “VAULT” BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND OATH OF ALLEGIANCE
Country is Headed to a Constitutional Crisis
(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania – 09/24/08) – Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States, announced today that Obama and Democratic National Committee [DNC] filed a Joint Motion to Dismiss on the last day to file a response, for the obvious purpose of delaying Court action in the case of Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.
Their joint motion indicates a concerted effort to avoid the truth by delaying the judicial process, although legal, by not resolving the issue presented: that is, whether Barack Obama was “natural born.”
It is obvious that Obama was born in Kenya and does not meet the “qualifications” to be President of the United States pursuant to our United States Constitution. Obama cannot produce a certified copy of his “Vault” [original long version] Birth Certificate from Hawaii because it does not exist.

#162 GoHillaryGo:

In my research, the following is what I have found out about Obama’s Columbia missing thesis:

Obama’s former professor at Columbia, Michael Baron, said this about his thesis:

“My recollection is that the paper was an analysis of the evolution of the arms reduction negotiations between the Soviet Union and the US,” Baron said in an email. “At that time, a hot topic in the foreign policy circles was finding a way in which each country could safely reduce the large arsenal of nuclear weapons pointed at the other…For US policy makers in both political parties, the aim was not disarmament, but achieving deep reductions in the Soviet nuclear arsenal and keeping a substantial and permanent Americal advantage. As I remember it, the paper was about those negotiations, their tactics and chances for success. Barack got an A.”

Guess what! We will never find that missing thesis. Professor Baron, is a big Obama supporter, contributing to his campaign AND Obama visited him last year in Florida while campaigning there.

Afterthought: For not seeing the thesis for 24 years, and many students later, didn’t the good professor remember a lot about Obama’s thesis? I think he re-read it before sending out the email otherwise how would he remember it in such detail. Maybe Obama’s position was controversial to the US’ interests in that thesis.

LadyHawke

The poll numbers are suspect unless it’s a Rasmussen poll. For 9 months this race has never been a level playing field with the MSM. As Hillary supporters, we saw the double standard press treatment between BO and Hillary. It is happening again with McCain/Palin.

Can you imagine if BO or Biden’s email accounts would have been broken into, what the whackjobs from Obama’s camp would have been spinning? I remember when BO’s personal file was broken into during the campaign, and his nutty supporters were screaming conspiracy. They all quieted down when it was revealed that the same thing happened to the records of Hillary and McCain. I wonder if his BC has anything to do with it?

BO showed the nation that his own self-interests come first. First, he speaks about the catastrophic nature of the economy and then he turns around and states he can be in DC if they need me??? THIS IS HIS 3AM CALL, AND HE FLUNKED! It also shows the DP was using our economic meltdown to further their Manchurian Candidate. Checkmate, McCain!

Here’s something I posted yesterday:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/general_election_match_up_history

This chart has included both the match-up with and without leaners since June 4th. When McCain started pulling ahead in mid-September, he stopped including the raw numbers and ONLY posted “with leaners”. The raw numbers were being hidden and the “with leaners” numbers (which are subject to PERSONAL interpretation) are the only ones posted. I called the contact number and spoke to a guy who immediately became VERY defensive and accused me of being a conspiracy theorist. He told me the “with leaners” numbers were the only accurate numbers and that he should just remove the column showing the ACTUAL numbers. I said NO that’s not the point. The point is that readers should be given ALL the data so they could draw their own conclusions. I asked why he was afraid of the REAL numbers and he just said in a mocking voice, “yeah, I’m terrified of numbers!”

Within minutes the guy had already changed the chart reporting poll results to show ONLY the poll WITH-LEANERS…. ALL respect lost for the Rasmussen report polls!

To Middle aged female, the reason McCain is speaking first before Obama is that Obama has to wait and see what Mccain says before he can get his thoughts together. I just heard he will be doing his speech via satellite from florida. Remeber when Hillary said during one of their debates that she didnt mind fielding the questions but she just found it odd that they always asked her the deep and heavy questions first, does that ring a bell about why mccain spoke first. Or heck, maybe it’s just because mccain is flying out early to go to DC, who the hell knows

What can we do to get the word out that BO and cronies had a big stake in CAUSING this economy trouble? HOW in H377 does that make him the CURE?

(Wall Street Journal http://wsj.com/article/SB122212948811465...)
“In light of the collapse of Fannie and Freddie, both John McCain and Barack Obama now criticize the risk-tolerant regulatory regime that produced the current crisis. But Sen. McCain’s criticisms are at least credible, since he has been pointing to systemic risks in the mortgage market and trying to do something about them for years.

In contrast, Sen. Obama’s conversion as a financial reformer marks a reversal from his actions in previous years, when he did nothing to disturb the status quo….All the Republicans on the Committee supported the bill, and all the Democrats voted against it. Mr. McCain endorsed the legislation in a speech on the Senate floor. Mr. Obama, like all other Democrats, remained silent….If the Democrats had let the 2005 legislation come to a vote, the huge growth in the subprime and Alt-A loan portfolios of Fannie and Freddie could not have occurred, and the scale of the financial meltdown would have been substantially less. The same politicians who today decry the lack of intervention to stop excess risk taking in 2005-2006 were the ones who blocked the only legislative effort that could have stopped it.

#206 lilibet on 09.25.08 at 9:48 am

Good Morning everyone,
I did not see the interview of Sarah by Katie Couric, but if it was as bad as it is suggested here(Katie badgering Sarah about McCain’s actions or inaction), I suggest a prowl to Katie. She is sensitive to criticism so it would be effective, but then again perhaps a waste of time that could be better spent more effectively reaching a wider audience.

#218 admin on 09.25.08 at 10:03 am

well, sure dwp — but has anyone ever gone and you know, looked??

We’ve based our accusations of misogyny and sexism on FACTS. The kind of facts that we link to, present, and expose.

There was a racist incident at a Christian college over the weekend in which a cardboard effigy of Obama was lynched. The effigy also included a sign ridiculing black scholarship students at the school. Very offensive and cruel.

However, traditional Christian colleges in conservative states are not usually known as hotbeds of feminist or Democratic political activism. My guess, based on my understanding of the FACTS, is that the college is mostly comprised of Republican students and faculty. Just a hunch.

So, while some obnoxious throwback boys were making an ugly and hateful political statement over the weekend,

meanwhile this month:
At least 10 teenage girls and young women in colleges were raped by men breaking into their dorms or apartments in the middle of the night.

Good morning Pumas –

Sorry to start off on such a negative note – but I get so discouraged with the American people for not seeing what we all see about Obama – I just don’t understand why people don’t investigate more – it seems like whenever we take one step forwards – we go three backwards – I am handing out flyers – am probably going to get fired at work because of all my puma activities instead of doing my job and can’t watch the news because they are biased – polls are biased – is there nothing we can ever do –

With all that said – Rasmussen shows Obama ahead by three points now 49-49% and North Carolina has now given him a two point lead – the one big State that Obama can not win — below from Rasmussen:

As always, the racial divide is sharp. In the Tar Heel State, Obama is supported by 98% of African-Americans while McCain currently earns the vote from 64% of White voters. (demographic crosstabs are available to Premium Members).

Eighty-one percent (81%) of Obama supporters are voting for their candidate with enthusiasm while 14% are voting primarily against McCain. Those figures have changed little over the past week.

Sixty-five percent (65%) of McCain voters are casting their votes with enthusiasm, up from 62% a week ago. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are voting primarily against Obama, down from 34%.

wtf is it with testosterone?

I knew a fw F-M transgendered women while they were going through the process. And all of them said they were acutely aware of the effects testosterone was having on them… that it made them spend less time thinking about consequences, and made them bolder in their behaviors.
Yesterday, I was listening to npr and the guest was a post-op M-F transsexual. He was saying the change made him experience and sense the world in a completely different way.

I would not waste your time worrying about the polls. Just remember how far off they were during the primary season. I think at one point they were 20% low for Hillary. The media and the pollsters are biased.

As for the Katie interview with Palin. I don’t even watch these farces. The female news readers are used to performing tricks for their male bosses, that is how they got their jobs and keep them. They are an aberration and do not represent any sort of real female person or attitude. What a dumb ass question Katie asked, “Except for XYZ can you give any examples of McCains reforms? Huh? HUh? I give you one more chance to ask my dumb shit question huh? huh?”.

The only relevant questions I want to here are what do you plan for the future, why do you run for office? What have you accomplished in the past. Get off this “I am so smart I will stump the candidate” Leave that crap to Oberlman the vile spitting twit on MSNBC.

#241 admin on 09.25.08 at 10:26 am

then again, now that I’ve kicked us off topic. . .

I’m reading a crime/mystery/thriller series set in Bangkok that includes a pretty in-depth description/discussion of transgender operations. It is quite fascinating. Apparently, it is much much easier physically, mentally, and medically to go M-F than to go F-M.

thanks caracal! burn it into your brain: ALWAYS POST LINK. ALWAYS POST LINK.

#244 osaka puma on 09.25.08 at 10:29 am

im not a scientists but it seems to me..testosterone is one of natures evolutionary solutions to human reproduction ..
nature had to be sure the human race would reproduce and testosterone drives men to be more aggressive in assuring impregnation of the female for reproducing the species..

#221 Rodham in Flag

Don’t be so down with those NC polls. There has been since January an increase in new voter registration in NC of 10% for Dems, 3% for Reps and 11% in Unaffiliated.

The majority of Unaffiliated increase are Dems who’ve changed to Unaffiliated. I know, because I went with fellow Hillary supporters to the County Election Office in August and they changed to Unaffiliated. I think it’s going on throughout the country.

If you add the 3% Repubs and probably 8% of the Unaffiliateds that’s an ll% increase for McCain. And that doesn’t include those Dems who didn’t change and are not going to vote for Obama.

I got a robo call this week asking, as an Unaffiliated, who I was going to vote for. I hung up. I think it was Obama’s campaign. I want to keep them guessing, otherwise they may step up their drive to get the Independents/Unaffiliateds.

I think the Independents/Unaffiliateds are going to determine this election. They are the stealth voting bloc.

#246 admin on 09.25.08 at 10:30 am

KarenWI — no it hasnt been posted. THANK YOU!

Check it out! Clinton says,
“We know he [McCain] didn’t do it because he’s afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates,” Clinton said, adding that he was “encouraged” by the joint statement from McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.

“You can put it off a few days the problem is it’s hard to reschedule those things,” Clinton said, “I presume he did that in good faith since I know he wanted — I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country and so I don’t think we ought to overly parse that.”

OMG! Bill Clinton is delivering PUMA TALKING POINTS on national TV.

McCain Fears Voter Fraud

Monday, September 22, 2008 8:35 PM

By: Dave Eberhart, Newsmax

Both Rudman and Danforth voiced concern that there is or may be a pattern of registering people who are not entitled to vote, noting that of particular concern is an organization called The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

“We are concerned that ACORN has been connected with Senator [Barack] Obama and that he has ties to it,” said Danforth. “He directed something called Project Vote; he taught classes for future leaders that are identified by ACORN; and he has represented ACORN in court in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois. ACORN’s political action committee has endorsed Senator Obama.”

Many people are against bailing out Wallstreet, my take on this issue, bail them out and make profit in the long run for US taxpayers. This bailout is totally different from S & L, this bailout taxpayers will get their money back plus interest. Profit for taxpayers on this bailout? NOT LESS THAN $1 Trillion! This bailout by the feds is to be paid by companies we’re bailing out plus interest, the money will go back to our treasury plus interest. This is better than lending money to foreign countries which never pay us back. If we count promissory notes of countries that owes USA billions of dollars for years, it would amount to trillions of dollars. I also like the idea of bailing out foreign banks doing business in our country, it means USA has a stake in those banks which is in our favor.

Something good is coming out of this, finally USA will go back to fiscal conservatism which does not make countries like China happy. In fact in my opinion, China have just lost billions of dollars in our market. This will slow down importation of goods from China which is bad for China’s economy; USA will go back to producing our own products again.

Watch Hongkong market, I used to live in Hongkong, they always watch Wallstreet; there’s a bank run in Hongkong right now. What does it mean? It means investors, and owners of small account are emptying their account, safety deposit box (emptying their gold bullion keep safe in the bank. Their would be massive selling of stocks!

What happen to foreign investors money in Wallstreet? Their stocks are hit big time. We’re talking of losses by the billions. China got hit big time with the crash of our banking system, they’ve lost billions of dollars in our market.

#243 4hillinca

I have the SAME situation with my cousin whom I thought would be 100% McCain. See post #88 I sent her this followed by a copy of the talking points from the action center:

I wouldn’t want politics to cloud a relationship I highly value, and I’d stand up and fight for your right to cast a vote for whomever you please. But with all due respect, I must heartily disagree. Palin is a governor. Most presidential candidates choose Governors to run as VP. She has executive experience and Obama has none. The only thing he has served in an executive capacity was a miserable failure. At least Palin is only running as VP and not the president. Obama is applying for the highest job in the land with a resume so thin anyone can see through it. His only claims to experience is “community organizer” and 143 days experience as a US senator . That was after he’d made a speech specifically stating that he would NOT run for president in 2008 because he knew he would not be ready(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2encXLmPDo). If Obama were even partially who he says he is, I might be inclined to agree. However, he is not. He’s a puppet for the far left liberals and the DNC, George Soros, William Ayers and the like. He likes to say McCain/Palin is “more of the same” however, they have both shown (not just said) that they are willing to take action, even against their own party to represent the people fairly. For what it’s worth, here’s a partial list of why I will do everything I can to keep him out of the oval office: (If you’d like references, I can provide them. If you want more reasons, I have plenty. It has nothing to do with race or voting party lines. Some of my dearest friends are African-American, Asian, Nigerian and Hispanic and I have voted as an independent for 30 years.)

Obama grant being probed
$100,000 DEAL | State to charity: What happened to garden money, other cash?
A $100,000 state grant for a botanic garden in Englewood that then-state Sen. Barack Obama awarded in 2001 to a group headed by a onetime campaign volunteer is now under investigation by the Illinois attorney general amid new questions, prompted by Chicago Sun-Times reports, about whether the money might have been misspent.
The garden was never built. And now state records obtained by the Sun-Times show $65,000 of the grant money went to the wife of Kenny B. Smith, the Obama 2000 congressional campaign volunteer who heads the Chicago Better Housing Association, which was in charge of the project for the blighted South Side neighborhood.

Most true conservatives DO NOT want to do this bailout. I’ve noticed that Newt, Michelle Malkin, and many other pundits are anti-bailout.

The bailout makes me sick, but do we really have a choice?

Hi guys,

As some of you know I am arguing with my friends who are all OBama supporters. Below is an email from one of them and I need your help to respond it point by point. I do have my response but want your view too.

Thanks

HRC Supporter,

The votes and delegates issue is closed. Obama won. Get over it. If you cannot, then atleast pretend to fix the problem so it doesn’t happen again. Throwing a tantrum is emotional.

The rules for disenfranchising states have been in place before the primaries started. I don’t like the rule. You cannot ask for a rule to be changed only because you don’t like the result. That is emotional.

I mentioned in my earlier email that bipartisanship is what George Bush was also known for when he was Governor in Texas. It didn’t help. I don’t think you need it.

Given the mess the Republicans have gotten the country into (I listed 4 or 5 points to which I see no response from you), I think any of Lallu Prasad Yadav/Mayavati/Musharraf/BalThakeray could do a better job. For that reason, if Obama is even 10% WORSE than any of them, he gets my vote.

What’s your excuse for the mess that McCain’s party has gotten us into?
What’s your excuse for the fact that for all this “maverick”, “holier than thou”, “patriotic” marketing, he chose a VP candidate with less experience than the Mayor of Fort Worth – just because she was a woman. That was a cheap shot. But the sorority sisters would have voted for him if he had even chosen a fish. If he dies in office, he leaves us in her hands. Is that patriotic?

As far as I can see, the Republicans have done more damage to this country than America’s worst enemies could have dreamt of.
McCain was in power when this happened. Regardless of what bluster he may have uttered, he was not effective in stopping it and he voted with the Republicans 90% of the time.
Hence, he does not get my vote.

I dont’ know if calling Obama as corrupt, selfish and dirty as either McCain or Hillary is a sign of being “smitten.”
As I was saying, Obama is as selfish, corrupt and useless as McCain. He was not instrumental in creating this mess. He gets my vote.

-OBOT

PS. I may not reply to your rebuttal, HRC. I’m sure you will have one. I don’t have your stamina. Don’t assume anything from my silence. Inshallah, we will meet at Panipat (I mean Atul’s place. ;-) )

OBOTS,

How is the tally of votes and delegates emotional? How is McCain’s voting record proof emotional. I think you guys are smitten by Obama that you fail to see all his crooked ways, his poor voting record and empty suit that he is against McCain long record of bipartisanship. Once again I clarify at the top of each forward that it is an opinion of a Hillary or McCain supporter based on the facts provided. But that is what everyone does. Make opinion based on facts.
Once again my opinion is based on the fact that I have seen Obama politics upclose and personal. It is not emotional, I truly believe he is the most selfish, corrupt and dirty politician and I will look for articles that will substantiate what my judgement of him.

It is very easy for you guys to discard a blog based on emotions. Emotions comes from beliefs and it is okay to be emotional and passionate when you know you are right.

If you can prove that Obama voted with Tax payers more than 10% of the time then show me a link.

HRC Supporter,

Regarding your emails, we need to get past “it must be true. i saw it on the internet.”
Regardless of your point of view, you will find links that support your point of view and support groups.
It’s very easy for people to send emotional emails and then attach links to some arbitrary places to support what they “feel”.
This basically follows the model : I am upset so I must be right.

The gullible folks will gladly lap them up. I just hope you think we’re better than that. ;-)

I would say, rather than follow arbit websites and support groups – look for “facts” and decide for yourself.
You’re much smarter than these emotionally wound people.

For example, look at both candidates (Mr. Maverick AND Mr. Change) voting “present” for the bailout bill.
Look at both of them voting in favor of the “FISA” extension.
ALL politicians are corrupt, self serving and don’t care about you once they have your vote.
That includes Hillary, Obama AND McCain.
Get used to it !

Some facts are irrelevant.
Whoever comes to power will have to do legislation and will have to reach across the aisle if he does not have a majority.
Even Bush said in his first election that he reached across the aisle as governor in Texas.
Fat lot of good it did !

Things that I think we can agree on without questioning whether these are facts are that
The current party in power has
a) screwed up the economy (remember we had a surplus when Clinton left office so it’s not like they inherited the problem),
b) screwed up our standing amongst other countries including our allies (from a high on 9/11)
c) has squandered the lives of patriots by sending them to die in an illegal war in country which did nothing to us
d) fed lies to the legislature about the reasons for the war and punished the CIA employee whose husband stood up to point out the fake evidence.

I’m hearing you say that you would vote for this SAME party so you can express you anger that one corrupt politician was selected instead of another.
The problem with McCain is that he is card carrying “member” of this party.
He has had almost as much power as the President to talk to Congress, Senate and INFLUENCE lawmakers to do what he wants for 8 years.

If he was going to change anything, he’s had opportunity for 8 years. If he hasn’t done it so far, what makes you think he will…

There’s atleast a 1% chance that Obama as an “outsider” might do something different than what we’ve had for 8 years.

HRC, you are presenting wrong data. I presume your hillary friends are feeding you lies. Please provide verification for your numbers. Using the rules of the game set before the game started (exclude Florida & Michigan) I come up with
Obama – 16,959,244
Clinton – 16,622,850
THe numbers were calculated by summing the results of all primaries excluding Michigan & Florida.
You can verify the numbers using:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/democratic_vote_count.html

Here is another take on the issue, again Obama leads using 4 different methods.
http://www.jedreport.com/2008/06/hillary-clinton.html

Also per the above website Obama leads the pledged delegate count by 127.
Learn to play the game by the rules that are set before the game starts. If you dont like the rules dont play the game.

HRC, so far you have refused to substantiate your facts even after requesting so previously. All you have provided are sound bites and forwarded emails from other hillary supporters. Can you substantiate any of your allegations with actual facts that can be verified? I am unable to locate any website that provides the numbers you list below.

And they used the same shenanigans at the National conventions to confuse delegates as at the all other conventions. Not allowing a floor vote etc

Forward email:
The DNC has released it’s count of the primaries. Obama only took the pledged delegates by 17. No wonder they had to give him four from Michigan, not fully count Florida, rig every delegate they could steal from Tx.

The Final Tally On The Popular Vote:
Hillary Clinton 17,857,446 — 48.04%
Barack Obama 17,584,649 — 47.31%
The Final Pledged Delegate Count
Hillary Clinton 1,730.5 — 39.17%
Barack Obama 1,747.5 — 39.55%

HRC, as any statistician would state, 3 is most probably an insufficient sample size. There have been 3 democratic presidents, Johnson, Carter & Clinton. Perhaps you are so fixated on Clinton’s that you fail to see the accomplishments of Johnson. “The Civil Rights Act, which Johnson signed into law on July 2, 1964, was the most comprehensive and far-reaching legislation of its kind in American history. Among its provisions were a prohibition of racial segregation and discrimination in places of public accommodation, a prohibition of discrimination by race or sex in employment and union membership, and new guarantees of equal voting rights.” Some of the rights you now exercise directly stem from this act.

From your summary, what I see is that Bill Clinton was the best President, I agree. I don’t recall any other Democratic President since JFK other than Bill Clinton who was noteworthy. That is why I wanted another Clinton in the white house. Obama is no Clinton and he is no JFK. Just being a Democrat is not enough my friend! :-)

One of the arguments put forward is that the republicans are better stewards of the economy than democrats. This myth needs to be debunked. Bottom line with which I totally agree
“Republicans are fiscally irresponsible. They spend more and increase the debt more than Democrats. Economies under Republican presidents are, in general, weaker than economies under Democratic presidents. The Bush administration has squandered the gains made by the Clinton administration, and John McCain promises to keep squandering our money”
Read further for data supporting my position. Data listed below can be cross checked against site created by Ross perot (perotcharts.com) to highlite the coming debt crisis.

1) More jobs created during democratic presidents than republican.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gvYLDx1iTqk/SMYszdSzrZI/AAAAAAAAAr8/3yTu91g1Bck/s1600-h/Jobscreatedsince1948.jpg

http://makethemaccountable.com/myth/images/PresidentsAndJobGrowth.gif

Some additional information that may open your eyes.

“Since 1946, Democratic presidents increased the national debt an average of only 3.2% per year. The Republican presidents increased the national debt by an average of 9.7% per year. Republican presidents out-borrowed and out-spent Democratic presidents by a three-to-one ratio. Putting that in very real terms, for every dollar a Democratic president has raised the national debt in the past 59 years, Republican presidents have raised the debt by $2.99.”
“Between 1978 and 2005, Democrats increased federal spending by 9.9% while Republicans increased federal spending by 12.1%. Further, in the same period, Democrats increased the national debt by 4.2% whereas the Republicans increased it by 36.4%. It is true that the Republicans held 4 terms during this time while Democrats only held 3. However, looking at each president since 1978, we see that Reagan increased the national debt by a whopping 89.2% during his two terms.”
“Now, you might say, “Well, but productivity increased more during that spending.” Using GDP as a measure of productivity (which is standard procedure), you’d be dead wrong. During the years 1978 – 2005, the Democrats increased the GDP by 12.6% while the Republicans only increased it by 10.7%. The president responsible for the largest increase in GDP, or the productivity of our country, during this time was Bill Clinton, a Democrat, who increased the GDP by 28.4% during his eight years in office.”
“Some people argue that GDP is an imperfect measure of productivity. So let’s look at job creation. Of all the presidents since 1933, Bill Clinton has created by far the most jobs. During his tenure, he created 22.7 million jobs, a 4.9% increase. The worst president in terms of job creation is George W. Bush. During his first term, he created only 100,000 jobs, a 0.002% increase. On average, between 1933 and the present day, Republican have increased jobs by 0.21% while Democrats have increased jobs by 3.24%.”

Congressman Conyers name came to mind this morning as I pondered the EVER-PRESENT PUMA Question: who can we talk to about Caucus Fraud?
Conyers supports Obama however, he has also been a leading champion of voter reform bills and inquiries including looking into those infamous black box voting machines.

This man has many admirable qualitites including being inquisitive, fair-minded, hard working, and has LOTS of initiative. It’s too bad he didn’t have Presidential aspirations I think he’d make a far better choice as First Black President.

Last but not least, anybody in Michigan oughta be emailing / calling Conyers office on a regular basis to inquire about Caucus Fraud allegations & whether he’s aware of them.

Who’s to blame:

Bill Clinton on debate:

“We know he didn’t do it because he’s afraid because Sen.

Everywhere I turned today they were talking that they want to hear these debates on Fri. and hear more talking and talking rather than having the elected Senators doing the jobs they ARE BEING PAID TO DO….everywhere even the View are all about it’s more important to them to be hearing more talking and more talking from the candidates rather than them actually doing some real work to get a solution to the current crisis….Except for Whoopie who is the voice of reason in my opinion that she said to her it is more important that they do the job that they are being paid for right now and that we’ve heard them talking for 2 years that there is plenty of time to hear more talking after something is done………..Way to go Whoopie.

A question here is what would the public do to make a decision if like in the days before TV that 3/4 of the country never even saw the candidates or if lucky only heard them on the radio and with out all these idiot ads?

#287 greenfun Thanks also for the info!

I went on the link and this paragraph struck me:

“Obama vowed to “work tirelessly” to raise $1.1 million to help Smith’s organization turn the City of Chicago-owned lot into an oasis of trees and paths. But Obama lost the congressional race, no more money was raised, and today the garden site is a mess of weeds, chunks of concrete and garbage. The only noticeable improvement is a gazebo.”

Words…just words. Just like he’s promising everything to everybody.

I doubt AG Madigan will do anything, since she’s an Obama supporter (unless she’s a stealth Hillary supporter, ha, ha)

On T. Boone and others…

No need to worry you guys… that 700 billion has got your butts covered.

In fact, Big Guys, you not only get your investments covered, you get to loan that American tax payer’ “bailout money” right back to them!

Just what the American people need… get into more debt to shore up all that bad debt – keep the economy going – so you Big Guys can buy all those funny-money once-inflated instruments from our government for pennies on the dollar!

…Let’s see, stick us with the bill for your over- inflated stocks and over-valued real-estate loans, deflate them, we pay the difference for you to get your money back, loan us more money so we can pay for the recession costs, we get stuck with the bills, again…

Uh… mind telling tell us what you big guys reallygot stuck with?

Wow! Average Americans take a bigger risk buying that cheaper one-ply toilet paper!

…I’m done ranting.

Like I said – where the hell is all the money going to come from for what everybody wants? Are we taxpayers responsible for people who live on islands that get destroyed by hurricanes, for people who live in cities below sea level that get destroyed by hurricanes, for people who live on mountainsides that get washed down the sides because the trees and vegetation were cut so they could build those homes, people who build houses near forests that were never allowed to burn naturally so now those houses are in danger because the people who built there didn’t want the trees to burn? Come on – I want a bailout too – pay my credit card debt……………..

P.S. “Big Guys”…

Careful… when tax-payers figure out that they are being loaned their own money… paying all that credit interest on their own money… you may see those financial institutions getting millions of credit cards in the mail saying… Stick it up your a$$! We govern our own debts. Cash basis only.

I posted this under Greta’ blog about rasism over on Fox.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seems to me, that for the last 17-19 months, i have seen many people wanting
Colin Powell or Condi Rice to be picked or suggested as possible vps for both candidate.
I also seems to me, their race is never ever an issue. Why? Because they dont the shady
background that Barak Obama has. He chose his relationships one by one, just like you
or anyone else does. I still see where some media is reaching far back into Sarah Palin’s past
and even going back to a church she has not belonged to in years and years.
But, we are all just supposed to forget Rev. Wright, and it’s only been how long since
Obama had to drop his name off that church’s roster as being a member. It was forced on
him by Rev. Wright’s own words and remarks. There are videos out there of Obama talking
about him as a close friend, mentor and he even talks about what the Rev Wright is wearing
that day. This is not the man i once knew, Oh i think this is the man you knew all too well.
Racist…to me, you would have to be far out of line to be called a racist today.
Don Imus knows.
So does the commedian from Seinfeld. They know. They went overboard
they were called out on it and treated the way they should have been treated.
But all that said, it seems whites are fair game on nearly every black commedians agenda and
acts. Even sitcoms have bent backwards using “whites” as lines of humor, Fresh Prince comes
to mind.
If you want to bring up a divisive line you can use any public debate, being gay, being
a Christian, being an aethiist, by the way, would we vote for an aethetist, would we say
we didnt vote for them because they were an aethistist?
I will end on this note.
The American Civil War was the greatest war in American history.
3 million fought – 600,000 paid the ultimate price for freedom.
And a war for freedom it was. The desire for freedom traveled deeper than the color of skin and farther than the borders of any state.
What do you call it when a black man says to white people, “ya keep it up (white support for John McCain) and you will see what will happen (if Obama doesn’t get elected)?”
I heard this from a black man who called a talk radio show in Memphis yesterday. This man is threatening violence if the man with brown skin doesn’t get elected.
If the American people allow the media select a President for them, get ready for a dictatorial form of government. When people succumb to propaganda instead of using their common sense, they’ll lose their country; they have no one to blame but themselves. :(
Well, whatever happens with the debate, I can say that the ONLY thing in the news right now is McCain/ Washington/ the economic crisis/ possible debate.
So, if McCain’s partial plan was too 100% hijack every single news story for at least 24 hours…he accomplished it.
I actually think he cares though, and wants to help solve this problem quickly.
I wrote about the threat yesterday here. That and “it’s all Hillary’s fault.”
They’re trying to intimidate us into voting for Obama.
People in this country have risked their lives and spilled their blood for our freedoms. One of them is the right to vote for whom we wish. I can’t wait until October early voting in my state, so I can cast my vote for McCain.
At first I was going to write in Hillary, then I thought about a third party candidate, but defeating Obama has become the biggest issue for me and to defeat him I must vote for McCain/Palin.
Plus, I gotta tell you, since I’ve researched McCain and Palin, I think our country will be a lot better off than with anyone else (other than Hillary). At least I know they truly love our country.
Pure genius: See what an ordinary citizen can come up with? Wow
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bona fide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage? —-housing crisis solved. Repay college loans? —-what a great boost to new grads Put away money for college? —-most everybody needs this! Save in a bank? —-create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car? —-create jobs Invest in the market? —-capital drives growth Pay for your parent’s medical insurance? —-health care improves Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean? —-or else:-) Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( ?vote buy? ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult US Citizen 18+! As for AIG? liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up. Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t!! Sure it’s a crazy idea that will never happen… But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! Can you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion “We Deserve It Dividend” more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC. And remember, The Simpson plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Ahhh…I feel so much better getting that off my chest. PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it’s either good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85 Billion!! Regards- Byron Simpson Sr.

What a difference in attitude between this blog and Hispanics coming across the border. Bloggers tend to see the jobs at McDonald’s, or Tysons, or dog grooming, or pulling weeds as demeaning and beneath them. The Hispanics see these jobs as opportunity. A means to improving the quality of their lives and families lives.
When this economy collapses, and it will eventually, don’t cry if you can’t find a job. Someone else already has them.

ABC News’ Nitya Venkataraman Reports: Former President Bill Clinton defended Sen. John McCain’s request to delay the first presidential debate, saying McCain did it in “good faith” and pushed organizers to reserve time for economy talk during the debate if the Friday plans move forward.

This is an excerpt from McCain’s remarks at the Clinton Global Initative:

——————————–

[…] I know you will understand if I begin by addressing a crisis of our own right here in America — a crisis that began not far from here in the financial district of this city.

We know this is a crisis with serious implications and consequences for our nation and others. History must not record that when our nation faced such a moment, its leadership was unable to put aside politics and to focus in a unified way to solve this problem.

It’s time for everyone to recall that the political process is not an end in20itself, nor is it intended to serve those of us who are in the middle of it. In the Senate of the United States, our duty is to serve the people of this country, and we can serve them best now by putting politics aside and dealing in a focused, straightforward, bi-partisan way with the problem at hand.

For the Congress, this is one of those moments in history when poor decisions, made in haste, could turn a crisis into a far-reaching disaster. If we do not act, credit will dry up, with grave consequences for workers and business across the American economy and beyond. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. And, as ever, the greatest burden is borne by the American people. Seven hundred billion dollars is a staggering and unprecedented figure, and there should be no misunderstanding about the dimensions of this proposal. Seven hundred billion dollars, for example, could rebuild the crumbling infrastructure in every town, county, and state in this country. A great deal is being asked of the American people. And great care must be taken to ensure their protection.

I’m an old Navy pilot, and I know when a crisis calls for all hands on deck. That’s the situation in Washington at this very hour, when the whole future of the American economy is in danger. I cannot carry on a campaign as though this dangerous situation had not occurred, or as though20a solution were at hand, which it clearly is not. As of this morning I suspended my political campaign. With so much on the line, for America and the world, the debate that matters most right now is taking place in the United States Capitol — and I intend to join it. Senator Obama is doing the same. America should be proud of the bipartisanship we are seeing.

It has become clear that no consensus has developed to support the Administration’s proposal to meet the crisis. I do not believe that the plan on the table will pass as it currently stands, and we are running out of time. So I am returning to Washington to seek five fundamental improvements to this critical legislation. I have laid out these principles over the past week:

First, there must be greater accountability included in the bill. I have suggested a bipartisan board to provide oversight for the rescue. We will not solve a problem caused by poor oversight with a plan that has no oversight. Never before in the history of our nation has so much power and money been concentrated in the hands of one person, and there must be protections and oversight in place.

Second, as a part of that oversight, there must be a path for taxpayers to recover the money that is put into this fund. When we’re talking about 700 billion taxpayer dollars, that money cannot simply go into a black hole of bad debt with no means of recovering any of the funds.

Third, the re must be complete transparency in the review of this legislation and in the implementation of any legislation. This cannot be thrown together behind closed doors. The American people have the right to know which businesses will be helped, what that selection will be based on and how much that help will cost. All the details should all be made available online and elsewhere for open public scrutiny.

Fourth, it is completely unacceptable for any kind of earmarks to be included in this bill. It would be outrageous for legislators and lobbyists to pack this rescue plan with even more taxpayer money for favored companies. And frankly, members of Congress who would attempt such a thing are scarcely better than the most reckless operators on Wall Street.

Fifth and finally, no Wall Street executives should profit from taxpayer dollars. Let me put it this way: I would rather build a bridge to nowhere — and put it square in the middle of Sedona, Arizona — than take money from teachers and farmers and small business owners to line the pockets of the Wall Street crowd that got us here in the first place. And I can assure you: if I have anything to say about the matter, it’s not going to happen.

It is difficult to act both quickly and wisely, but that is what is required of us right now. Time is short, and doing nothing is not an option. I am confident that before the markets open on Monday we can achieve consensus on legislation that=2 0will stabilize our financial markets, protect taxpayers and homeowners, and earn the confidence of the American people.

I have seen Republicans and Democrats achieve great things together. When the stakes were high and it mattered most, I’ve seen them work together in common purpose, as we did in the weeks after September 11th. This kind of cooperation has made all the difference at crucial turns in our history. It has given us hope in difficult times. It has moved America forward, through all adversity. And now, in this crisis, we must work together again and put our country first.

All of this comes on top of other hardships that Americans have been dealing with, especially the rising cost of energy. And these, too — as you well understand at the Clinton Global Initiative — are problems that require us to call upon the best ideas of both parties.

For the future of our economy, nothing is more essential than a secure and affordable supply of energy. As you well know, people are hurting because the cost of gasoline is out of control. Small farmers, truckers, and taxi drivers in this city and elsewhere are unable to cover their costs. Small business owners are struggling to meet payroll. For American workers, the cost of living is rising and the value of paychecks falling. All of this, in large part, because the price of oil is too high, and the supply of oil too uncertain. These citizens believe their government has a duty to finally=2 0assure the energy security of this country, and they are right.

Every form of economic activity requires the use of energy. And that is why we need to draw on the best ideas of both parties on energy policy, and work together for the common good. Among our challenges is one that we hardly even understood back when America first learned to associate the word “energy” with “crisis.” We now know that fossil fuel emissions, by retaining heat within the atmosphere, threaten disastrous changes in climate. No challenge of energy is to be taken lightly, and least of all the need to avoid the consequences of global warming.

Over time, we must shift our entire energy economy toward a sustainable mix of new and cleaner power sources. This will include some we use already, such as wind, solar, biofuels, and other sources yet to be invented. It will include a variety of new automotive and fuel technologies, clean-burning coal and nuclear energy, and a new system of incentives, under a cap-and-trade policy, to put the power of the market on the side of environmental protection. To make the great turn away from carbon-emitting fuels, we will need all the inventive genius of which America is capable. We will need as well an economy strong enough to support our nation’s great shift toward clean energy.

Global warming presents a test of foresight, of political courage, and of the unselfish concern that one generation owes to the next. We need t o think straight about the dangers ahead, and meet the problem with all the resources of human ingenuity at our disposal. We Americans like to say that there is no problem we can’t solve, however complicated, and no obstacle we cannot overcome if we meet it together. I believe this about our country. And now it is time for us to show those qualities once again.

As we deal with this challenge, we must also address the others that imperil our global security. Today too many around the world are excluded from the benefits of globalization. Disconnected from the prosperity that has lifted millions out of poverty, too many societies are plagued by violence, disease, and scarcity.

It need not be this way. And in places where scarcity can breed resentment, despair, and extremism — where problems cannot be contained by borders — it must not be this way. We can never guarantee our security through military means alone. True security requires a far broader approach, using non-military means to reduce threats before they gather strength. And this is especially true of our strategic interest in fighting disease and extreme poverty across the globe. …

I just want to know – how come Obama owns the “economic” side of the
debate?

*********************

Because Obama is being prepped by his economical experts and they are giving him all the answers, so basically it is a matter of remembering the answers.

That is why Obama is freaking out that McCain may not debate this Friday, all that prepping, it is a proven fact that short terms memory of prepared questions and answers has approximately a two day retention curve.

Then the short term memory fades rapidly, lol however if you are familiar or are an expert on these topics your long term memory will help you retrieve and answer needed.

Obama is a short term candidate… Very very little substance and policy long term memory because they all belongs to Hillary.. AAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

Great idea! Out of the mouth of a citizen!

You know 2 weeks ago Palin gave every person in Alaska approximately $3250 per person in oil revenues and $1200 to every household from the Windfall Tax Increase to Oil companies she imposed. Sound familiar? She walks, the walk. That’s approximately $17, 450 to every family. Now I’m sure they put that money right back into the economy, paying on bank and mortgage loans, buys goods and services, etc.

Our government wouldn’t go for that. That would be taking the money out of the hands of the greedy US government. How would Congress and the Admin then be able to get their grubby, tainted hands on the bailout loot?

I posted this last night – was last post so wanted to post it again – McCain’s new web-ad previewed in Santa Fe.

SunnySantaFe on 09.24.08 at 10:56 pm
Good evening! I mentioned the other day that the McCain campaign was previewing a web-ad regarding Chicago are Hispanics and their opinion of Obama. I went to the Santa Fe preview and I have to say, it was very good! There was a guy who was a Hillary supporter -Bernard (sorry I didn’t get his last name) who was from Chicago and he talked very passionately about moving to the McCain camp. He said that although he was a key supporter of Hillary and had a group of supporters who were very active, Obama NEVER contacted them! Obama took their votes for granted. He was very passionate about his support for McCain over Obama and felt that if Hispanics were contacted and understood the differences between the two candidate, Hispanics would come on board for McCain.

There were two videos previewed at this meeting. The first one was about McCain and his long history with the Hispanic community. The other video is the web-ad that is currently on the McCain website (http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Multimedia/) and is a walking tour of the Hispanic community in Chicago – they asked people about Obama. What did Obama do for Hispanics? Nada, nada, nada! The video is also on You Tube but I couldn’t find it there. Bernard (the Hispanic guy from Chicago) repeated that it is important to reach out to Hillary supporters – 10 milion of them – so that we can get their votes for McCain. He reiterated that the Democratic Party left their supporters and moved to the far left. PUMAs – we have to help New Mexico and other swing states reach out to Democrats who are not comfortable with Obama!!!

They’re spinning out of control, a bunch of miscreants who nefariously promote and defend lies and spin the said lies of NObama to be the truth. The media itself is the biggest THREAT to Democracy, second are uninformed voters.

End The Accusations of Racism: Vote Against Obama’s Unqualified White Side.

Gore and Kerry lost because they were Democrats that didn’t connect with rural voters and were called elitists. John Kerry became the Flip Flop King and Gore invented the Internet.

The Dems blamed Bush for the Gore 2000 loss in a race that shouldn’t have been close. Gore was rejected by the voters in his home state. (If Gore had won Tennessee, there would be no Bush two terms).

They blamed Blackwell of Ohio when Kerry lost when, in actuality, Kerry flip flopped his way to a defeat when he took whatever position he thought would ascend him to the white house.

The Dems continue to look for someone or something to blame for why they lost or will lose. Now it’s “blame their own” by claiming they’re racists. How about the DNC blame their gawd damn selves. You’ve given us two winners in 40 f*cking years.

Bill Clinton was not the DNC’s choice for president. He was the people’s choice! That’s why he won TWICE.

The DNC, blinded by greed, has forgotten what a winner looks like. They want to continue using the blame game to explain away their mediocre choices. Hey Howard and Nancy! Obama may be a different color, but he’s the same kind you’ve lost with in the last 2 elections: “The Losing Kind”. He can’t connect with rural voters. He’s an elitist and he’s taken away the flip flop crown from John Kerry. Why should his faith be any different?

You want us to lower the bar based on his race.

You’re asking that guilt be the deciding factor for our vote. You’re saying throw away our principles because he’s entitled. In other words, you want us to put a man before our country. Leading America is not about entitlement or race. It’s about leadership.

The junior senator with 143 days in the senate and over 100 present votes, has flip flopped on every position he’s taken. He is NOT ready to lead.

He hasn’t even earned the right to try.

#391LeeInUSA: Bill Clinton said this because it is accurate. Two bills passed during his Administration that allowed for relaxation and in some cases total release of constraints re what various financial institutions could or could not do. At the same time a quasi independent entity was set up under HUD to monitor FannieMae and Freddie Mac re its play in these changes. This agency by law was mandated to send and did send to Congress a report on FM’s every year.
If one reads, as I have mentioned here before, these reports, starting with 1993, until now, it shows huge changes and trends in FMS and in their practice of the same practices of standard and now collapsing fiduciary groups and investors. McCain in 2005 sought to make changes in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with his bill, which was defeated by CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS INCLUDING ALL THE BOYS AND GIRLS NOW WHO ARE SANCTIMONIOUSLY ACTING AS IF THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING, THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT AND IT IS ALL REPUBLICAN’S, INCLUDING BUSH’S FAULT. Now, it is a sad day when I have to defend Republicans against these Dodd, Kerry,
Frank, Reid, Pelosi, Bayh, Daschle, and BARCK OBAMA LIES. If we can somehow make this point among the poplulations, perhaps it will have some influence on the ridiculous idea that Obimbo is better for the economy.
Clinton is protecting his record, as well he should and has a right too, when he makes these statements.
They are accurate.

Never heard of them. Looks like they’re going to rally in most of the swing states.

You know, with all the ups and downs in this campaign, the thing that keeps me going is that in surfing the web for info day and night (which has my daughter on my back all the time), is that I find more Hillary supporters’ websites, I just can’t believe it. I’ll bet there are millions of us out there. More than the media and pollsters think.

It’s very heartening to find these websites and it instills my faith that on November 5th we’ll be celebrating!

Look what this election has done: Open our eyes to the DNC, exposed Obama and his co-horts for what they really are, shone the spotlight on Ayers, ACORN, Illinois politics, stripped Congress of their facade, etc.

I think the Election of 2008 will go down as the election of Voter Empowerment.

Dean’s brother part of gang going to put ads out to attack McCain on age and health…

Liberal PACs Ready Attack Ad on McCain’s Health
By Jim Rutenberg

Two liberal groups – one of them directed by a brother of the Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean – will begin running a graphic attack advertisement Thursday morning raising questions about Senator John McCain’s health. Showing vivid and unflattering images of the fresh scar that appeared on Senator McCain’s face immediately after his last operation for melanoma skin cancer eight years ago, the commercial ends with a screen headline that reads, “Why won’t John McCain release his medical records?” (Mr. McCain, 72, did invite a limited group of reporters to inspect more than 1,100 pages of his medical records in May, though he gave them only a three-hour window in which to review the documents.)

Video

The commercial is among the harshest to run against Mr. McCain yet, seeking to exploit the sensitive issues of health and age.

Officials with the groups running the ad, Brave New PAC and Democracy for America, said they were only showing the spot initially on MSNBC over the next few days, a limited run intended to draw news media attention on a network that has increasingly catered to liberal tastes.

Gallup Daily: Race Back to a Tie at 46% EachMcCain now on equal footing with ObamaUSA Election 2008 Gallup Daily Americas Northern America PRINCETON, NJ — John McCain has gained ground and is now tied with Barack Obama among registered voters in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update for Sept. 22-24, with each candidate getting 46% support.

This update covers interviewing conducted Monday through Wednesday, and as such includes one night after McCain’s announcement that he was suspending election campaigning and flying to Washington to help seek a bipartisan solution to the financial crisis. A night by night analysis of interviewing results, however, does not suggest that McCain had a dramatically better night against Obama on Wednesday. Instead, the data show that McCain has been doing slightly better for the last three days than he had in the previous week, and with some strong Obama days falling off of the rolling average, the race has moved to its current tied position. This is the first report since Sept. 13-15, in which Obama did not have at least a one percentage point edge.

As was true during the two weeks in which the candidates selected their vice presidential running mates and held their conventions, this appears to be a time period with much going on that can affect the candidates’ standings, including whatever happens regarding the three planned presidential debates and the one vice presidential debate. — Frank Newport

Gallup Daily: Race Back to a Tie at 46% Each NEW
September 25, 2008
John McCain has gained ground and is now tied with Barack Obama among registered voters in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update for Sept. 22-24, with each candidate getting 46% support.

Did Palin Help McCain Among White Women?
September 24, 2008
Gallup Poll Daily tracking samples do not support the hypothesis that John McCain has made significant gains among white women since he selected Sarah Palin as his running mate. Instead, Gallup finds changes in white women’s preferences to be little different from preferences among all voters.

Woooohooooo!

You know that when someone runs something about illness or trying to undermine someone with a history , that does not always go the way they think it will go in the minds of intended viewers.

Bill Clinton on Good Morning America this morning. Here is a link to that interview. At 2:45 in the video Bill Clinton begins to explain that democrats resisted any efforts by republicans in congress and him when he was president to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Bill Clinton has FINALLY learned that it is better to tell the truth the first time around:

#454 NewOrleansPuma I totally agree. My resident obot got angry on the weekend and said this is all the fault of republicans, Clinton had no choice in that he was forced by republican legislature, blah blah. No matter what I say or do, he says its republican propaganda… it’s useless trying to talk common sense or even provide links to info (unless its MSM links, because that’s all he “believes” as true”. I really don’t want to discuss it with my obot anymore as we really aren’t speaking to each other right now. The way I see it is this started back in the Carter administration with legislative action to force banks to make more money available to low-income people, and progressed to the point of deregulation in the Clinton administration. I see it as both dems and repubs are to blame, but Bush and the Senate banking committee should have been keeping watch, reading reports, and taking action to correct the situation before it ever got to this point. Anyway, that is what I think. I don’t see how obots can claim this is totally and completely a republican-created situation, but they are.

You gotta love it. Just two days ago the Dem’s said they were not close to having a deal on the bailout. Now that McCain announced he is on his way to WA, Reid has announced that they already are close to a deal, giving the impression that the came up with a bailout deal (the one BO proposed) prior to McCain’s arrival. The Dem’s are trying to rush something through so McCain does not get any credit for it. LOL

Well, I guess the good news is that McCain really did have some pull in getting Pelosi, etc to get off their butts. LOL They are rushing around like crazy now.

I heard Bill talk on TV about this crisis and he said, thoughtfully, that when they said it went all the way back to his admin, he went back over the actions taken by him and lawmakers, when he was President.

It takes a “big” person to say that. Bill is someone not afraid to look in the mirror, although it wasn’t his fault. When Fannie and Freddie were set up it was for all the right reasons and when they started to stray away from their course, it was someone like McCain who tried to rein them in. Unfortunately, it was the likes of Dodd, Obama, Frank, et. al, who turned a blind eye due to their own selfishness and greed.

Now their at the hearings acting self-righteous. I think they should hold town hall meetings around the country so we could give them a piece of our minds!

It doesn’t instill confidence in me to think that Obama would prefer to study up for a debate instead of going to Washington during an economic crisis. I don’t think he knows how to set priorities and I’m grateful that John McCain will at least be there trying to help. On second thought, Washington doesn’t need Obama, he can wait in Florida to see if the next President of the U.S. John McCain will give him an audience.

I would like to see a Major Prowl, in which we email the Democrats on the Senate Banking Committes and the House Financial Services Commitee telling them we know what the facts are regarding their lack of oversight and rejection of reform when it was offered in 2005 and that what their spin now is a sanctimonious lie that we intend to make sure all Democrats know!

McCain’s Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 (S.190) went to the 109th Congress Senate Banking Committee and its my understanding that at the end of the 109th Congress, the bill was declared dead (if that’s not correct, please tell me as I would sure like to know).

The bill was reintroduced (without McCain’s name on it) as S.1100 in 2007 where it was again referred to the 110th Congress Senate banking committee (Dodd as chairman)

List of members of committee in 109th Congress had a majority repubs, but 3 repub co-authors would have voted for their bill so with dem support it would have passed (Hagel, Dole, & Sununu are all on the committee and would not have voted down their own bill).

ANDY MARTIN: I HAVE A QUEASY FEELING GEORGE BUSH HAS MADE A MAJOR BLUNDER, AND ELECTED BARACK OBAMA

DID SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN ACQUIESCE IN HIS OWN DEFEAT?

(NEW YORK)(September 25, 2008) There he was on the front page of every newspaper today: Senator Barack Obama, invited by President George Bush to help solve the “financial crisis” that is supposedly threatening America. I have a queasy feeling Bush and Senator John McCain may have made the biggest blunder in presidential politics since President Jerry Ford in 1976 said Poland was not in the Soviet sphere of influence.

I know, I know, “County First,” not politics. But are they really putting their country first if they elect Barack Obama and inflict Obama on the world for the next four years?

McCain’s biggest calling card has been Obama’s “stature gap.” Barry O could stage a rock festival in a Berlin park, but no one in Washington gave him any credibility. Obama has no experience, no record and no particular level of support among Washington Democrats except profuse “lip service.” Who the hell is Barack Obama?

He may have become the next president courtesy of George Bush, and a massive blunder by John McCain.

Wednesday night Obama was already claiming that the Bush White House had accepted “his policies” to solve the financial “crisis.” As this is being written there are reports a “deal” has been reached. Obama will have attained the last stop on his self-referential crusade by being accepted at the White House as a statesman and dealmaker. Good grief.

Ooops.

Bush and McCain have erased Obama’s stature gap. How is McCain going to say Obama lacks experience if Obama is being called to the White House to solve a (in my opinion nonexistent) “crisis?”

Bush and McCain just handled Obama a loaded gun. Watch Obama shoot Republicans with it, and claim that his “strong leadership” led to a “successful negotiation” which culminated in “rescuing America.” Who gave Obama this weapon? Why George Bush and John McCain, of course. When the president calls you in a “crisis,” Obama has a legitimate claim to stature.

I have to give a speech to a Republican dinner this evening. I am not a happy camper. On the other hand, the people who gave us the mess in Washington are also influential in the 2008 campaign, so what can we expect? Chopped liver?

Fasten your seat belts. It’s a mess.

#502 Noblecascade on 09.25.08 at 1:45 pm

What happened to honesty and truth and integrety.

#508 Grizzly on 09.25.08 at 1:52 pm

This may sound somewhat counterintuitive, but I believe Bill Clinton is a much better former President than he was a President. I don’t say that to minimize his tenure as President, but I have been following him from the beginning, and I believe that since he has been out of office, he has made that rare leap from “politician” to “statesman”.

When Bill was first running for President, I was the youngest of 6 senior executives running a financial services holding company in the Northeast/MidAtlantic. Being good corproate citizens, we purchased tickets to all of the Dem and GOP events in our home city and took turns attending those events. As the youngster in the group, I drew the “short straw” – go to the event for one of the Democratic candidates for President – that guy from Arkansas.

I showed up my usual 30 minutes early and got some great standing room about 20 feet back from the podium. The guy from Arkansas was right on time. He stood in the middle of the stage, eschewing the podium, and for about 40 minutes, spoke without notes. He made eye contact with every single person in the room (anyone who has spoken in public can fully understand the virtual impossibility of this) and made the gathered listeners feel that he was speaking to them, not at them. His manner was confident and deliberate. And he didn’t miss a beat. He took questions and gave concise and crips answers, never having to rely on a pregnant pause or an “uh” to gather his thoughts.

The next day at our 7:00 AM executive staff meeting, I was asked how the event went. I answered that while I had never seen JFK in person, I had seen video of his speeches. I noted that this guy from Arkansas was THE best extemporaneous speaker I had ever seen. He had an uncanny grasp of the issues of which he spoke, and removed any doubt as to his capabilities.

That guy from Arkansas was Bill Clinton. When he was first elected, he had been battered in the partisan electoral process that had polarized both sides. His start was a little rocky, with many of the issues of national import a new experience for him. He was just hitting his stride when the whole Lewinsky thing broke, which severely compromised his ability to effectively perform his duties.

But still, the man was and is probably the most intelligent person to grace the White House in our lifetimes. And he was still a force to be recokened with.

After he left office, with the passage of time, I believe the pressure of partisanship had less and less of an impact on him. He continued to grow as a person and as a political figure, something that does not happen very often, since people departing from lofty positions are usually content to sit on their laurels.

And then it hapened. Somewhere Bill Clinton became a statesman. That rare leader that had all but disappeared from our political landscape.

Too bad he is retired from the game.

Hispanics4Hillary and DancesWithPumas – wow – great information on the newspapers in N.M. The southern part of the state is pretty conservative, should go for McCain so if you were going to target specific areas of N.M., I would say that the ABQ area will be close and the Santa Fe area is 70% Democrats and it seems a great number of them are far left. If I can get any more demographic information for you, I’ll post it.
