On a personal note, I have one of the posters we printed for Denver on the wall in my office (aka “the dining room”). All of the Pumas and friends signed it in different colored markers when they were at HQ. I look at the poster at least 100 times a day and I read a handful of names each time: Earlene from Jackson MO, Linda from Atlanta GA, Marji from California, Papau from Boston, and mesofree from somewhere! Wichita, Germany, Portales. What a week it was!

Send the paragraph and email address(es) again, and I’ll be happy to do it.
And, pleeeeeeeeeeeease do not try to assist with Mama’s relationship to me…
She always turns those good intentions around and seems to sense that I am more guilty than she is aware, or than I really am.

But, thank you anyway.

Hi All. They just announced on the news that the internet is spreading rumors that Biden is out and Hillary is in. You might see it in the news tonight. Hopefully this is false. Bill will be on Letterman saying she didn’t want the job anyway.

Has anyone else heard this “new” rumor or is this old dirt?

Not that I don’t think Hillary would be a great VP…I just don’t think she wants it.

#12 murphy on 09.22.08 at 10:55 pm

#13 hillstheone on 09.22.08 at 10:56 pm

I think it’d be good if she took if it offered as I believe Obama will get outed for something soon & have to drop out. That reminds me, I was going to go look up the definition for “racketeering” because I seriously don’t know what it is!

I think that’s an old rumor.
Wonder if it’s being spread so that Dems who have switched to McCain will hold off contributing and campaiging for him, in the hope that Biden will be replaced by Clinton.

No matter to me. ShamBoy ain’t getting my vote.

Ok, I know how we all feel about Hillary taking that role. The newscaster stated it was just an e-rumor at this point. I think they are running the story to get better ratings. I had a hard time finding it on the internet.

#33 Anna7000 on 09.22.08 at 11:07 pm

Billie Jo – I saw your post on the previous thread and can hear how scared you feel. I wouldn’t want to do anything to fuel any anxiety on your part. As I posted earlier, I am extraordinarily sensitive to matters of privacy. I want to explain what I’d like to do and make sure you feel ok with it:

1. Just make a general inquiry into the regulations in the UC system regarding political activity by staff. NOT mention any specific campus or incident.

2. If it seems a line has been crossed where you work, I will simply post what I learned from this very general exploratory research and we can come up with a plan that seems comfortable to you, if at all.

3. Meanwhile, just as an fyi, I went to the web site noted in the e-mail you received. So, it’s not exactly like it’s a secret org. But, I think the issue you’re concerned with pertains to the fear that someone could somehow trace something back to you. I have lots of ideas about how this would not even be a remote possibility, but won’t waste blog space discussing them now.

For now, just going to pursue step one. Again, not identify who I am, how I came to learn anything specific on any specific campus, just general research project. All very innocent. Collecting info about UC policies, that’s all.

Topic – PUMA: you learn something new every day…

OK I went researching about what racketeering is, this might be off-topic, maybe not (could Obama be charged with this?) I found out “money laundering” is usually associated w/racketeering, i.e.:

“The term ‘money laundering’ is typically used to refer to any financial transaction that is not kept transparent. Needless to say, the practice is illegal and large penalties, fines or imprisonment may ensue.”

Interestingly, I discovered Racketeering charges were once filed on Rumsfeld! Wow I must have slept through that headline when it happened! Anyway I was astonished because I’ve always _hated_ MONSANTO, & he was tied to wrongdoings by them:

Racketeering charges have been filed against Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, Monsanto…

Check this out. Biden finds the bozo ad regarding McCain’s not using a pc as “terrible” and says he would not have approved of it since everyone (excluding the hate filled bots) knows that McCain can’t sit at a pc and type due to his war injuries. He later sent a comment to ABC to “correct” what he “meant.” I’m sure bozo had a fit when he heard this so he made Biden take it back and attack McCain. Bozo is a sad excuse for a human being.

Carrie, you know how you were saying your site numbers were low, and you asked people to go visit your site? I was thinking that you might want to rethink that because you’re trying to artificially inflate numbers on a site that is promoted and dedicated to telling the truth. Know what I mean? .02 cents

#60 hillstheone on 09.22.08 at 11:21 pm

By the way, PUMA’s (speaking of Monsanto), where I live I always buy milk that says “not made with bovine growth hormone” on the container. Milk is one of those products that, if it _doesn’t_ say that on the label, you have to assume the growth hormone is in there. I’ve only been doing this about 3 years, my poor kids who knows what they drank before that…!

Where I live (Pacific Northwest) all of the Dari Marts (corner stores) carry good milk…

They’re assigning responsibility to bovine gropwth hormone for the very early physical maturation of children.

In the 50′s corps started off humbly with their products and confessed in their ads the their products weren’t as good as Mother Nature’s.
That progressed to: almost as good as Mother Nature’s.
That prgressed to: as good as Mother Nature’s.
Then it became Better than Mother Nature’s.

Why do they always call it ‘cheating’? I mean, if you love someone, then you just want them to be happy. All that jealous, possessive, insecure stuff is just symptomatic of codependency.

#73 SunnySantaFe on 09.22.08 at 11:27 pm

Greetings! I just found out that the National GOP is rolling out a new web ad that features Hispanic leaders from Chicago talking about the real Obama. I don’t know when it will be on the web, but they are previewing it in New Mexico – Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Espanola. This could really help with the Hispanic vote. The preview in Santa Fe is on this Wednesday at 4:00 pm. If anyone is in the area and wants to meet these guys, the RSVP info is … Please RSVP to Kelly Rzendzian at (505) 715‐4311 or krzendzian@mccain08hq.com. (I think it would be good to mention PUMA!) Not sure if these Hispanic leaders are planning to go to more cities.

#75 Asian4Hillary on 09.22.08 at 11:28 pm

osaka,

He is! I think Joe was just forced to accept the offer of VP, everyone rejected NObama’s offer. Even Bayh of Indiana in my opinion was relieved he was not chosen. NObama is a heavy baggage to carry, he don’t have diddly squat going for him, no experience in executive experience in state level, have not written a major bill in the US Senate and pass it. The guy is just a plain EMPTY SUIT!

NOBAMA is a DEADWEIGHT around Biden’s neck, he has to drag the MOFO like a ton of chainlink!

#76 Caracal Carrie on 09.22.08 at 11:29 pm

Hi Asian4Hillary,
How’s it going tonight?
Hey if Obama were to go down for anything that takes him out of nomination, what do you think it would be for? I can’t decide between his Chicago buddies (money laundering or whatever) or his overseas associations which seems like they wouldn’t pass the smell test with the CIA…

Thanks for understanding. The email was linked to the Graduate School of Education. That guy it was about came last year to speak and not many showed up for it because they don’t like his background. The student that sent it thinks he is standing up for all that is education. I don’t want to have it connected to the Grad school, because we are all very well aware of each other. If you want to say something about the Berkeley campus in general or their listserve email way of communicating to hundreds of people at the same time, that is okay. Honestly, I don’t think it is worth it since at Berkeley it is also a free speech type of environment. Thank you for your concern and interest to protest this one, but I think it is better to leave it alone in my situation. I just needed to vent and blow off steam, sorry if I got you going. (((Anna)))

…composed two letters to the media opposing BO

I couldn’t complete the prowl to CNN on Sunday because I had problems opening the document. Will try again……

Just wanted to respond to your post earlier in the day. There are many Pumas like me that are not posting but trying to finish the prowls and helping out the Rep. ticket. Someone has to win other than BO before this nightmare is over.

Media

So glad that McCain’s campaign stood up to the NYT and their “lunatic coverage” drooling over BO. It reminds me of what Hillary went through after Super Tuesday.

What a bunch of overpaid spoiled and vicious brats. BO controls the DP and the smear machine has his passive-aggressive blessing.

I have a prediction….

Biden says mocking McCain was “terrible”

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080923/ap_on_el_pr/biden_campaign_ad
WASHINGTON – Barack Obama’s running mate says a campaign ad that mocked Republican presidential candidate John McCain as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate was “terrible” and would not have been done had he known about it. ….Asked about the negative tone of the campaign, and this ad in particular, during an interview broadcast Monday by the “CBS Evening News,” Obama’s running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said he disapproved of it.

“I thought that was terrible, by the way,” Biden said.

Asked why it was done, he said: “I didn’t know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we’d have never done it.”

#129 murphy on 09.22.08 at 11:51 pm

KarenWI – I plan to attend the preview and will hopefully have some good questions to ask and as soon as I find out about when the ad will be on the web, I’ll post it. The main newspaper here is so in the tank for Obama – running news articles that overstate Obama’s support among Hillary supporters, Hispanics and Native Americans. Their ‘reader comments’ on the web are just ridiculous in their support of Obama. If anyone wants to add to the daily comments, the link is http://www.santafenewmexican.com/ – then click on Opinions and then Reader comments. “Filling a Vacancy on the National Ticket: In the event of death, resignation or disability of a nominee of the Party for President or Vice President after the adjournment of the National Convention, the National Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee shall confer with the Democratic leadership of the United States Congress and the Democratic Governors Association and shall report to the Democratic National Committee, which is authorized to fill the vacancy or vacancies.” – obamacrimes.com

Regarding Richardson – agree! If I remember correctly 34 delegates from NM voted for Obama, 4 for Hillary … and Hillary won the primary here! It was no surprise to most New Mexicans that Richardson would go with whomever he thought was going to win. We all knew he wouldn’t probably even stay in New Mexico when his term was up. In the debates he touted increasing spending for education …. but New Mexico still ranks 46th or so in the country. Great job, Richardson! I am fairly new to NM and am learning a lot about old style politics. Udall is another one that needs to go! And for Congress, the Dem candidate’s daddy is speaker of the State House – the son didn’t even graduate from HS – got his GED! His degree came just weeks before he decided to run for Congress – hmmm – did his Daddy’s buddies at the college help him at all??? This is the kind of candidate that we have from the Dems – but he is likely to win because of all the big money coming into his campaign. Dem or Rep – this guy has no business representing anyone in Congress. Oh, can you tell I get a bit worked up? Sorry. I’d like to see real Democrats and Real Republicans – not the looney left and radical right.

After Obama loses on Nov 4th, Puma will be:
1. Lobbying hard for Dean’s replacement
2. Demanding the resignation of Donna Brazile
3. Demanding the resignation of every RBC member who voted for the disenfranchisement of MI and FL and for the stealing of Clinton delegates
4. Fighting the neverending sexist onslaught in the media
5. Growing our Voter Networks for the 2010 midterms
6. Lobbying Dems in congress and the DNC for primary reform
7. Lobbying Dems for Hillary’s platform — esp UHC
8. Raising funds for Puma Democrats running for office
9. Posting funny pictures of cats
10. Building and growing the Pumasphere and being an Oasis of Sanity and Resources for good, active American citizens.

#157 hillstheone on 09.23.08 at 12:07 am

Also I think that if Obama was served with papers or something that made him certifiably un-electable, he would resist all the way…probably the DNC would have to make a 3 a.m. phonecall to him, harhar, he would not go easily… But it’d be funny, wouldn’t it? If it really happened they would not have time to change the ballots & “A vote for Obama is a vote for Hillary Clinton,” lol…

Watching Bill Clinton on David Letterman. He is explaining what caused the financial crisis, what needs to be done, and has several times referred to Hillary’s proposed plan.
They should have him all television explaining to people because he gives you hope that this can be turned around.
I’m waiting to see if he’s going to promote BO. So far he’s only talking about how good Biden is as a person. Earlier I read Bill say McCain was a good person with much experience but he felt that BO & the dems have better policies for people. However it was not a real strong support message for BO.

Anyway I just watched the View clip you posted – agree w/that, too. He is referring to Lynette Long, for sure.

I think Bill Clinton has been reading up on PUMA’s and even watched some of our youtubes recently (& I emailed several people this weekend saying so)!

#188 NoHillaryNoVote on 09.23.08 at 12:34 am

#177 More on Bill at Letterman
The closest Bill Clinton got to supporting BO was to say that people will go into the voting booth liking both candidates, and they will say that McCain is a good candidate but we want a change so they will vote for BO. He used a few “nice” adjectives in describing BO – but nothing like the positive he said about Biden.
In fact, Chris Rock (comedian) came on after Bill and observed that it appeared that Clinton did not want to say BO’s name.
I think tv news shows should all have Clinton on to discuss this economy thing. For the first time I actually was beginning to understand what happened and why and how the US might get out of this situation.

I realized what the last comment was for… I’m including a link of everyone that received some sort of earmark from Fannie Mae… the thing you need to notice here are the top three people (McCain got the least and is at the bottom of the list). But the interesting thing about the top three is that Obama — who has been in the Senate for only a few months… received almost as much as the first and third Senator (who have been in office for several decades).

Hi Hills……….. sorry, that was about 75 web pages ago, I don’t remember where it was.

#199 hillstheone on 09.23.08 at 12:54 am

#200 osakapuma,
Yes I was thinking about that today too, because we were talking about race and people will say those Hillary supporters, they were racists…

Oh well! We can point to the video of soldier for hillary, the black woman who said “call me a racist? OK I’ll be sure & wear my white sheet when I vote,” she was right-on in telling it like it is. You can’t tell people they are racist because they don’t think a candidate is trustworthy or experienced. Just like you can’t tell people they are sexist because they don’t vote for the woman candidate, either.

One good thing when this election season is over everyone will have had their consciousness raised a little bit…

#200 hillstheone on 09.23.08 at 12:55 am

#197 hillstheone

“Maybe that’s another reason Obama didn’t select her, conflict of his / her interests, hmm, what do you think…?”

I think Obama only thrives when he is surrounded by corruption. He never would have picked Hillary cause he hates her. I think he hates all women. And quite frankly — I think he’s such an incredible narcissist — that if he could — he would want to be a one-man show without having ANY one on the ticket as VP. But Biden is a has-been that would definitely fit his needs since he’ll do what he’s told. Also… I’m glad Obama never wanted Clinton on the ticket. I’m not one of those people that thought it would have been a good thing for her to be any where near his ticket.

TOPIC: Buying American-made

One other thing I have been meaning to suggest for a while. In addition to fighting gender bias in the media, universal health care, fair voting practices, etc., what do you all think about the PUMA movement encouraging consumers to buy American-made products?

Personally I like the idea & I am going to suggest it to Murphy.

“At this point, how many here are SURE McCain will win?”

I’m feeling very good about it. Especially in light of the thousands that Palin and McCain attract at rallies while there’s a report that Obama’s attendance has been dying lately.

Then there was also this report today in which the Anti-Iran Rally turned into an anti-Obama Rally
http://wcbstv.com/campaign08/united.nations.general.2.823131.html

And finally — I’ve seen Bill Clinton give several interviews in the last two weeks… and in every interview… they ask him who he thinks will win. What is his answer? He always makes the point to say he’s a Democrat so of course he thinks Obama will win barring any unforeseen things that might occur in the debates. So why would he say that unless he’s absolutely confident that McCain will slaughter in the debates.

I just read this on Larry Sinclair’s site. If this is true, it certainly smells like voter fraudis up and running.

OBAMA INTERVIEW REQUEST & OBAMA SUPPORTERS SUBMITTING VOTER REGISTRATION IN MY NAME!
Below is the typical response from the Obama Campaign when you submit a request for interview.

Dear Lawrence Sinclair,
Thank you so much for your interview request. It is
now in our system and our
communications team will follow-up with you when
we have a better idea of your
request’s status. We understand the
difficulties a delay in response may cause
and certainly appreciate your
patience.
If you need to follow-up with our team before you hear from us,
please email
media@barackobama.com.
However, we will touch base with you as soon as we have
an
update.
Best,

Obama for America
http://www.barackobama.com

Well I guess the Obama supporters/surrogates like to register as many people as they can. I just received an email from Obama for America’s vote for change site letting me know they completed my voter registration for me! Funny I never asked them do that since I have already registered myself! I guess now I will take the Obama Campaigns completed form into the Clerks office tomorrow and file a complaint against the Obama campaign.

It seems the Obama supporters/surrogates are again using the barackobama.com to send emails using other peoples email addresses like the one below.

Did you see the interview she did earlier in the show with newt gingrich? I agreed with everything he said and I don’t think this bail out bill should go through. Especially since it’s loaded with money that will go to ACORN (which means Obama will benefit from our taxpayer money bail out). That pisses me off.

There’s a link somewhere on the McCain website to report any suspicious voter registration behavior to the GOP. You have a choice — you can report it to the DNC or the GOP. My bet is that it’s safer to report it to the GOP in this election season.

Hypocrisy of NObama is beyond measure. I’ve never seen a politician who shoot off his mouth without regard for the truth. This has become endemic in our politics of today, the media itself is heavily involved in coverups, covering for Nobama’s erroneous statements, downright lies. Nobama has zero credibility, no integrity, dishonorable in every conceivable. Only a fool would vote for this man, only a sucker for punishment would vote for this man, only those who can’t think would vote for this man.

In light of the collapse of Fannie and Freddie, both John McCain and Barack Obama now criticize the risk-tolerant regulatory regime that produced the current crisis. But Sen. McCain’s criticisms are at least credible, since he has been pointing to systemic risks in the mortgage market and trying to do something about them for years. In contrast, Sen. Obama’s conversion as a financial reformer marks a reversal from his actions in previous years, when he did nothing to disturb the status quo. The first head of Mr. Obama’s vice-presidential search committee, Jim Johnson, a former chairman of Fannie Mae, was the one who announced Fannie’s original affordable-housing program in 1991 — just as Congress was taking up the first GSE regulatory legislation.

View this race another way. For 9 months, the MSM, DP, and ACORN have helped BO come this far. By my last count he has spent close to $500 million dollars to buy or cheat his way into the White House. According to Rasmussen and other reputable pollsters, THIS RACE IS TIED. If it were any other candidate, this should have been a blowout for the DP’s candidate, and it isn’t.

I watched the 60 Minutes interview, and BO could not articulate a coherent reason why he should be President. He could not name anyone outside of his family that has inspired or influenced him. After 19 months of campaigning, BO is still a mystery. Despite all his advantages, many voters do not trust him.

During the primaries, I had never heard of ACORN or knew what “community organizer” meant. Now, the other political party and groups are on to him to keep his crooked hands out of the White House.

#234 Godzilla on 09.23.08 at 3:02 am

#232 freddiebrown, the McCain/Palin campaign is doing fine. Each day that passes, the fact that Obama is just a run-of-the-mill politician becomes more evident. No one except the extreme koolaid drinkers talk about him as “the one” any longer, and I doubt even they do, unless it’s just to mouth platitudes robotically. People all over the country are beginning to wonder what they ever saw in him. The republican base is on fire, and the debates are looming. The wheels are coming off the Obama campaign, and there are still 40+ days to go. Now the Obama surrogates all over the net are erasing smear Palin videos that show linkages to Axlerod. Yet the videos were saved and are still available for viewing. This story is not getting wide exposure throughout the internet. Soon it will be on Fox.

Added to that, there’s the PUMA effect.

Dear Prime Minister Harper,

On September 5, 2008, Heather Mallick, a columnist with CBC.ca published an article regarding Sarah Palin and the American people. Her supervisor
publically approved and supported the article. This article was filled with slurs, sexism and derogatory comments directed at Alaskan Governor Palin and
the citizens of the United States of America. This type of journalism is totally unacceptable and repulsive, and it certainly does not speak for all Canadians, even though the author implies it does.

I am calling on you to ensure Heather offers a sincere public apology to all Americans. I also expect her boss to offer an apology for supporting such a vile and disgusting attempt at journalism. Then, I expect her
resignation over this article. As a American I am appalled that Canadian tax dollars are paying for such trash. The Canadian Government oversees the
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, as it is a crown corporation. The written opinion of every reporter and columnist of CBC will be viewed as the Canadian perspective. I assure you that referring to Americans as white trash, or Gov. Palin as a porn actress is definitely not the opinion that Canadians hold.

One more very important item, get rid of the electorial vote and let the popular vote rule!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This would bring in more voter fraud. The problem then becomes that a candidate can go to some out of the way place and really stuff the ballot box. Right now that does no good except in the few swing states. So it limits where some voter fraud might take place. It also limites the fraud to the number of state votes in the electorial college. You could stuff 10 million votes in Alaska and still only get the 3 electorial votes. Not positive but I think there are 3 votes for Alaska but you get the idea.

If a recount was called for it would require the entire country and all votes. NO THANKS.

#257 GoHillaryGo on 09.23.08 at 6:33 am

I think we should go back to an electorial college system in the primary. we saw the terrible results of the present system. An electorial college system would give a candidate quicker and easier. The concept of the total votes is too long and drawn out and divisive. After all we need the candidate who can win in PA and OH FL CA etc. Since he has to win via electorial votes in the GE then she may as well get the nomination in the same kind of race. After all you dont run the marathon winner in the 100 yard dash.

And please get rid of caucus states.

#258 NoHillaryNoVote on 09.23.08 at 6:56 am

The repeated news story on several tv news shows this a.m. is that when Bill Clinton was on the view yesterday he stated that Hillary did not really want to be VP. But the story indicates that Bill said choosing Hill was politically the smart thing to do to win.
I wonder if that is true – that Hill did not want to be VP on the Dem ticket? Or are they trying to present this idea that Hill didn’t care when she was not selected as VP as an attempt to calm Hill supporters – in hopes we will stop being upset that BO did not seriously consider Hill as his VP.
Also – notice how Bill Clinton doesn’t really go after McCain in any interviews? He says many nice things. I wonder if that’s because he believe McCain will tap Hill for some cabinet position?

Good Morning Pumas For those of you doing research on all of the B.Hussein/Chicago Politics, The American Thinking has some great articles….along with how Hussein got some of his bucks.

I love the term used in one of the articles: Pinstripe Patronage: refers to a political payback system where instead of rewarding voter loyalty with city jobs, significant campaign contributors receive government contracts.

I have listened to her on every channel she has been on so far (hillary) and her plan and thoughts on this sounds a lot like McCain’s she said she was warning them about this problem a year ago (on CNN) just like John McCain said he was saying this 2 years ago. Where’s BOs plan oh that’s right he is waiting and seeing!!

As a former US Army Ranger, I try to keep abreast of the current methods and tools available to all nations as they fight each other. I have been trained to be comfortable being close to the enemy and within their midst. But as the war between Georgia and Russia has showed, it is not always cold steel and hot lead … an enemy can launch an effective and devastating attack from ones command center, or even his living room.

Russia has launched several cyber attacks on several countries in just the last year, and the bots they used have on occasion came from American Servers! If we would ever have to defend Georgia against Russian aggression, they will attempt do the same to us. I have had many Russian friends in my military days, and they were all quite computer literate, just as their leaders are. Ours are not.

With our current leaders being technology illiterates, with a SecDef (Secretary of Defense) who does not know how to use email, with our Potus (President of the United States) just now learning to use “The Google”, and the those responsible for regulating the internet referring to is as a series of “Pipes and Tubes”, it is clear that if or when that attack is launched our current leaders and those they support to be our next leaders will not have a clue on how to lead in this situation.

Although there is a vast array of issues in this election, if war with Russia is a happens (as it would be almost inevitable if Sarah Palin is in charge, as well as war with Iran is certain, although I am not against covert actions against Iran, or Russia), there will be no other issues. Our country will be brought to it’s knees by the collapse of the net and all of our systems and infrastructure that is based on the net (or Internets, as our current leaders like to say).

A small group of renowned security experts (actual experts, not appointed ones … as they are leaders of the industry or innovators of technology, much of it currently used by our Military) recently discussed this. If you would like to see them discuss this, the video (12.6MB) can be downloaded if you click here.
This is why we need a smart young technology aware and computer literate leader, and not another old man of yesterday as our leader.

Please … please … vote Obama for President.

I have posted this to the Northeast Wisconsin for Mccain 2008 site as well, like I said, “I have been trained to be comfortable being close to the enemy and within their midst”.

Thank you
Sincerely,
Marcel A. Kuemmet

Morning Trish!

Hey everyone.

#281 NoHillaryNoVote on 09.23.08 at 7:55 am

Hill on Today Show – she refused to acknowledge what her husband said about her not wanting to be VP. She said it is the nominee’s decision – and she then went on to sing the praises of Biden.
When asked would having her on the Dem ticket have been able to counter Palin – she again refused to discuss and said why talk about what didn’t happen.
She said that voting for McCain was rewarding the Republican Party for where we are today and that its time for a change.
It is evident that the Dem party has realized that both Clintons are able to speak to the voters in a way that BO can’t – so they are flooding the tv news shows with the two of them on behalf of the Dems.

It was the same on Morning Joe ….Hillary was sent out to do DAMAGE CONTROL again for the Obama campaign……………I am disappointed by Hillary doing so much for the Obama-ssiah….and propagating the DNC of Obama line.

But I have know Hillary since 1991 and u can tell that this is not the real her…..it’s kind of like “Oh alright give me the speech and talking points and I’ll deliver it……uhhhhhh”

#288 slyt2 on 09.23.08 at 8:08 am

Now i didn’t see that at all GBPuma (I watched her on every channel but the today show) she talked about the problem going on she never mentioned BO untill they brought it up and I think (thank god) she really didn’t go over and beyond about him. CNN was trying at one point and time to blame Bill Clinton for the problem with the Economic Crisis (cause he signed some bill or something and she totally blow that off) but actually I was really happy I felt she wasn’t out there pushing BO in our face (for once)

E-mail I sent to Bill O’Reilley, regarding his outspoken defense of Sarah Palin:

Bill,

I am relieved to see you speaking out against the blatant, ridiculous attacks on Sarah Palin and her family by the mainstream biased media and the elite world of Hollywood icons (who give a rat’s a$$ what they think, really).

But a thought occurred to me while watching last night’s show: I don’t remember seeing you jump to Hillary Clinton’s defense when MSNBC and CNN showed so much gender bias. I’ll admit–the two women are different, and the attacks are different–but it still would have been nice to have a voice in the media speaking out against their claptrap.

Overall my opinion of you and your show is positive. I just would have like to see you speak out earlier this year in Sen. Clinton’s defense.

Good Morning, PUMAs; I’m at work so I’ll have to be quick…looking forward to buying some PUMA gear tonight.

A local NH TV station (WMUR) reported that a recent poll indicated that 14% of people in NH who voted for Hillary Clinton are now voting for John McCain. 10% more of former Hillary Clinton voters are undecided and leaning against voting for BO. That makes 1 in 4 Hillary Clinton supporters in NH as of this date are not voting for BO.

And that’s just the people that were polled. There are those, like myself that never get polled….

#312 mick on 09.23.08 at 9:00 am

Goodmorning PUMAs, I just got this email below and thought I would pass it on. I realize that not everyone is voting for McCain BUT if you are and want to get involved here’s one way to make a difference.

I can’t make to to Colorado so I’m going to make phone calls.

***************************

MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE: HELP US IN COLORADO!

There is “one state that is most likely to determine who will be the next occupant of the White House. And that state is Colorado.”

“What’s the Top Electoral College State This Year?”
Stuart Rothenberg, September 19, 2008
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/whats_the_top_electoral_colleg.html

Leading political analysts agree – Colorado is a crucial step to victory in November. The McCain-Palin campaign needs your help! Thousands of Coloradans will begin casting their ballots in early October. With upwards of 70% of voters casting their votes early, October is now Election Month in Colorado.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

Come to Colorado for a weekend and join our Victory Blitz. On September 26-28 and October 3-5, we will walk neighborhoods throughout Colorado and hit the phones to deliver our message to early voters.

Your efforts these weekends could decide the election!
Become a full-time volunteer in one of our many Colorado offices. There is much work to be done and you can be a tremendous help.

If you can’t come to Colorado, please sign up to make calls from home. Just an hour a week would help us reach our goals.

For more details, please contact covictoryblitz@johnmccain.com.

We need your help to bring the team of Senator McCain and Governor Palin to the White House. Please join us and make history!

Sincerely,

Aaron Trost
Regional Political Director, South Central Region

I live in Ohio, I am a registered Democrat. (which will no longer be come the next primary and I can change to Independent). I received an absentee ballot in the mail. I looked at the name on the envelope and it had my Middle name as my first name, and my middle initial then my last name. I do use my Middle name a lot but never have I been registered with this name on the envelope, nor have I ever requested an absentee ballot sent to me.

I have been voting my entire adult life and have always been registered with my legal full First, Middle and last name. So I called our board of elections and brought this to their attention. They said send it back and explain the incorrectness of the name and then be sure to sign it. After sending this back to them it made me stop and think….how many other voters are receiving absentee ballots not looking at their name on the envelope and filling them out and sending them in?

I have always gone to the voting polls to cast my vote. My husband and I both received a form to fill out requesting an absentee ballot but never filled them out since we don’t trust what they do with absentee ballots. This mistake about my name sure made me give thought to voter fraud.

Rezko to face charges of mortgage fraud today.

from Uppity Woman:

Tony “Not The Guy I Knew” Rezko Due In Court Today For….Mortgage Fraud Charges

“Speaking of the mortgage meltdown. remember this guy? Tony crank up my political career and get me my mansion cheap and I won’t notice the rats and lack of heat in those houses you didn’t renovate for the poor on taxpayer money I got you ”That is Not the Guy I Knew” Rezko?
Cross Posted from The Real Barack Obama–RBO, formerly Rezko Watch
:

In a brief item, ABC News 7 Chicago reports that convicted political fixer, Antoin “Tony” Rezko (see below) is due back in court today, September 23, 2008, “to face charges of mortgage fraud.”
Rezko, along with two other men, are accused of rigging the price of pizza franchises to fraudulently obtain more than $10 million in loans.

The indictment for this case “alleges that Rezko fraudulently obtained more than $10 million in loans for a pizza restaurant business from General Electric Capital Corp. (GECC) and also defrauded investors in that business.”

Rezko is accused of defrauding General Electric Capital Corporation in connection with a $4.5 million loan he obtained from that lender supposedly to buy a chain of Papa John’s pizza franchises in Milwaukee with a straw buyer and inflated prices, misrepresenting his role in the transaction and then defaulting on the loan.Source

Rezko was convicted in April 2008, on 16 charges of “fraud, bribery and money laundering in a political corruption case. His sentencing for that conviction is scheduled for next month,” ABC News reported.

Remember how Sarah is always irrationally being compared to Obama. Well, Obama is completely lost when his teleprompter is off kilter. You probably will recall that at the R. convention Sarah’s teleprompter was almost always in the wrong place. Did you notice that? I certainly did not. we should save all these and demand that the media question them. Any call for riots or unrest is inciting
civil terrorism. We should not let these subleties go unchecked as it would become a trend.

Time for some Astrological fun?

I just cannot wait for the first debate between Obama and McCain this Friday.

Mercury, the planet is retrograde from September 24th to October 15th, and it is in Obama’s third house of communications.

That means Friday during the debate, when he is pontificating, he will constantly lose his train of thought and start to mumble and stutter and fade out! Poor baby Obama

McCain has retro planet in his second house of money

Palin has retro planet in her ninth house of foreign affairs and higher learner.

Biden has retro in his 11/12th house he will probably be undone by a friend from the past.

Heads up to everyone, back up your work on your computer constantly,
do not purchase any new electronic appliances and check and double check all correspondences that you will send out and received for accuracy…

DO NOT SIGN ANY NEW CONTRACTS UNTIL AFTER MERCURY GOES FORWARD OCTOBER 22nd, if signed during a retro period they usually have to be revised….

Me too, I was floored when I saw him speaking about how BO, how he was the one with vision and the right answers. How great he would be for this country and the polls are now showing it.
I was floored!

Well… if these rumors are true it would explain Biden’s comments about Hillary being a better VP than himself.

My take is that the dems/DNC are faced with a Birth Certificate situation and should it be true that Nobama can’t run as president, then he would have to step down and the VP would take over.

The Dems/DNC would have a much better shot between Hillary & McCain than Biden vs McCain.

This would explain Bidens foreshadowing of events.

#358 NewOrleansPuma on 09.23.08 at 10:40 am

288NoHillaryNoVote: Hillary says we should not reward the Rep. party for where we are today..And we are to conclude that we should reward the Democratic Party forwhere we are today? The Democratic Party rejected her, its base, and us. The Democratic Part rejected her financial plan , her balanced budget, and her programs.
Members of that same Congress in the form of the Financial Services Committe in House, and Banking Committe in Senate, Frank, Dodd, and Kerry along with Obama and many others have done nothing whatsoever to in any way monitor Fannie Mae, Mac and the no boundry play of Financial Institutions who, took advantage of Bill passed under Bill to remove certain constraints among lending pracitces and institutions that had been put in -place since the Depression,.
Every year since that bill passed in 1997, the entitiy overseeing Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac has given a report TO CONGRESS…Did anybody read it? Have time now

Morn’in Pumas – just popped in before I start my newspaper project for the key states in the election -

Rasmussen this morning has both tied -
Apologize if this was said above – have not read anything yet this morning.

Couple of key States – Ohio – McCain 50-46 – but leading women in that state 50-46 – we need to get our Sisters to have a check here -
Virginia – McCain leads – 50-48 – again a 7% lead in women for Obama – need to get our word out there as well.

Unfortunately big drop in Minn (the one pulled his troops from N Dak to Minn and Wisc) 52% for the one and 44 for McCain – Michigan a drop as well – 51-44%
Penna – the one now has the lead of 48-45%

DANCES – will be sending you information for the Action Center Today —

No one responded to my request yesterday of a bullet point letter to the editors and TV stations – so I guess it must be ok -

#364 bobram on 09.23.08 at 11:02 am

#306 GBPUMA and KARENWI – be on the lookout as my above post mentioned – BO pulled out his troops and shut down his offices to infiltrate both Wisconsin and Minn – please help by submitted letters to the newspapers and TV Stations – I have done a couple for each State and they come back and want my local Wisconsin and Minnesota contact phone numbers and addresses – don’t live there -

The Office of Federal Houising Enterprise Oversight is quasi independent entity within the Dept of Housing and Urban Development charged with overseeing the activities of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This entity was set up as the result of the Housing Enterprises Safety and Soundness Act of 1992. Every year a report is sent to Congress regarding these entities and financial activitiies relative to housing markets in this country If one reads these reports, one sees, especially the second huge change in relationships between financial institutions went through in the Financial Services Competition Act of 1997 went through, where trends were going and why…Since 1993 these reports were sent to Congress…Who did anything about anything? Obama now claims lobbyists are to blame?
Ha…Congress is to blame, every one in both parties who did nothing…Lobbyists lobby Congressmen and women…dont they?

If Obama is forced to step aside before the election because of the Berg suit. Then the Dems can put Hillary on top. If the election takes place and then Obama has to step down then it would be Biden as President.

If the Dems chose Biden to run against McCain then Biden would be crushed.

Here you go 469 Your northern neighbor, 504 KarenWI, 505 Middle age female and all others that wanted to know about yesterday’s trip into the abyss of BOREDOM……
If you see Today show Matt is interviewing Obama in the Resch yesterday and u look at the background and that is pretty much what it looked like yesterday………Oh boy the lack of over packed house for Obama is the big news every where….LOL
Couldn’t get a full video downloaded so here is the audio of his whole ….nothingness speech.
http://www.620wtmj.com/podcasts/newstogo/29304749.html?video=pop&t=a

Well here is my first hand notes from the “Freakshow ’08″ in Green Bay yesterday….I’m just going to put it down here like I took the notes.

I got there at 11:05 am and nothing of any lines waiting to get in.

They expected 10K+ and sitting in the “nosebleed” section I was able to count the attendence at around 3,000 and then later just before Obama arrived (late as usual) it increased to around 4,000……….but the Resch holds over 10,000.

When you had a green ticket you got special seating in the sections facing him….but if you didn’t have a ticket you got the farthest away bleacher section that you got to look at his backside and side if lucky.

The mic/pa was set so you could hardly hear anyone speaking and whatever they said was pretty much mumbled.

His ropeline was so small that it only circled the very small area of like 6′ out from the platform and around the platform.

Speakers included Lt. Gov. Barbnara Lawton, Rep. Steve Kagen, Sen. Herb Kohl, Gov. Dole, Sen. Russ Feingold, and then field volunteer staffers.

There was lot’s of clapping but no real excitement.

A statement from Kagen was interesting….he said “can you image a Prtesident in the Whitehouse that can think things all the way through?”

He has young kid(s) not more than 18 yo running around the floor like a warmup act or an applause signholder/cheerleader to promt people to applaud or applaud more….LOL…LOL……LOL

All his field staff volunteer leaders are around 25 and definitely under 30.

They had everyone take out their cell phones and text right now their volunteer center….(so they can capture all the cell #’s is all I thought.)

They told everyone to take off work and take a sick day or whatever to be off on Nov. 4th so that they can work for the get out the vote……..Well maybe all PUMAS need to do that.

They wouldn’t allow any signs or give out any signs like usual but they gave the people in the select seating on the floor and the floor level bleacher seats near the platform flags that they were to wave….and then collected them right after the speech was done.

They had to do program filler because asusual Obama wasn’t there and on time again.

I never saw so many black men in suits in Green Bay before and they all were behind the ropeline……there was manybe a couple hand full of blacks in the audience if that.
Green Bay isn’t know for it’s overly large black population but there are much more than what was represented there.

They operated the Resch just like a concert with concessions and pages and all……and major police and security….hell road my bike over there and was going up yhe side block to the front of the Resch and they had the sidewalks closed for 3 sides around it and had to turn around and only go in the one entrance that was off the back side street……..A bit of overkill on security mesasures.

Some other statements from the lead-in speakers….”Obama is effective and works in a bipartisan manner and always has.”….”Obama has worked on major bills” with many major names they listed.

Well Obama finally got there….20 mins late…there was a standing ovation….around 2mins…..( I just stayed sitting the whole time throughout the whole event taking notes, shaking my head in disagreement and mumbling “that’s a lie”…not many people around me but they must have thought I was a Republican spy that infiltrated….lol

God he is skinny!…skinnier than you can tell from TV………it’s that Aids/anorexic type skinny….he wears these straight tight legged suit pants that makes it even worse….I have toothbrush handles that are thicker than his legs and his ankles are about the size of a dollar piece…..has he ever released his medical records? He really looks sickly.

Topics:
Wall street greed gone wild.
jobs going overseas

Talked alot of “we need” but no plans

His solution to everything is to fix the broken politic Immediately.
Talked about irresponsible politics and government…that “Enough is enough”
“Reform reform reform”…reform this reform that.

3/4 of the 48 mins was about reforming everything right away and Mccain this and McCain that.

Brought up Bill Clinton once and praised him to no end on how wonderful he was.

My ? is…is this a rally about Obama and how HE qualified and what he’s going to do specifically or is this entire thing just a speech against McCain?

again he says “he spent his career taking on lobbyist”
“I brought Dems and Republicans together in the IL Senate and we passed the 1st reform bill”
“Washington lobbyists do not fund my campaign”
“got together so we can stop programs like the bridge to no wheres”…got standing ovation…..my ? is do most or any of these people even know what the “bridge to no where’s is”?
He said he would on his very first day….”sign the bill and reform on the very first day in office”……..(so that bill is already done just waiting for him to sign it…I never realized that Congress could have a reform bill ready for him in 24 hrs….okay 15 days even so ….LOL)

He would pass leg. that would restrict members of the administration after leaving that they couldn’t work as a lobbyist for atleast 2 years after leaving and NEVER be able to lobby his administration EVER.

The perfect rhetorical speaker his speaking from the speech right in front of him. and wouldn’t/ didn’t move 1 step away from the podium………he acted like he was constipated and scared shitless of the crowd…….(maybe he’s still not use to being infront of that many “angry white country folks”….LOL)

Says he will put ever single bill on line for 5 days before he signs it…….(nice idea but that step should be before it gets to his deak when the Congress is debating the bills so the people can actually have imput to it…….and there are things that need to be signed expediently and can’t wait that 5 days for a signature)

The ENTIRE speech about McCain, and “We need to…”but nothing about what “he” needs to do or how he plans to do anything….pretty much it was 48 minutes of against McCain, and reform, reform, reform, reform, reform, spend, spend, spend, spend….

We must stop the war because that will save us money.

1 lame mention of helping family farmers…………(and this is America’s Dairyland ogf family farmers mostly dairy family farmers.)

“I will cut programs that don’t work and the rest I will make work better”

He is so so so out of touch with reality or how Washington really works to be able to do anything at all.

It’s the lobbyists fault for everything……………( LOL….like no one else is responsible for anything…LOL)

Says that “95% of all working families will get tax cut”……..(yeh right with the current problem and the $1tillion bailout….how can he even think of spending so much more $ and give rebates and tax cuts…….does he even know how to balance his own bank account? He would have to sell a couple of states off to think about spending anymore money….in business terms the country is long past bankrupt status….and what if a teorrist or other emergency happens?….many he is scary and even more finacially scary.)

If under $250,000 no increase on taxes, eliminate ss income taxes, eliminate this tax, eliminate that tax, etc.

He would devise and put a regulation stranglehold system in to effect………(that is his only referrence to the current problems going on and his only attempt at a “solution” in the future.)

Things completely missing were to speak on the current finacial and depression crisis and anything he is doing now to correct it or how he would handle (a solution of any type) ….just reform reform reform reform change politics change everything and spend spend spend spend .

What I wanted to hear is about food cost, housing assistance, helping the common person with the essentials………let’s face it when we have no food, no house, no job, no income, do we care about reform reform reform or lobbyists or change change change?….What I want to know is what he IS doing right now….(he is still an elecvted Senator…last I checked and should be doing that job in Washington right now) and what he will do right away that will affect me and my family right away……..what I heard was a lot of nothing…alot of pipe-dreams in a perfect world of reform and change………….Well folks it isn’t a perfect world and far far from it right now and instead of talking about what he is doing and going to do for us right away so we aren’t all in the streets he talks about these pipe-dreams of reforming politics and Washington.

And finally…He NEVER even asked for my vote when he finished his speech…it just ended………….I don’t care who you are or think you are if you want my vote you better humble yourself and ASK specifically for it………..because to me if you don’t ask me for my vote you don’t really want it.

Another thing is that people weren’t really talking to each other in the Resch and everyone was silent when leaving and it’s like you were afarid to talk to them or ask them what they thought when leaving….it was kind of like Going to church on Good Friday and the Minister tells you to leave in silence….LOL….and the hawkers(venders) were not doing much of any business with their wears……..I hung around awhile and watched and there might have been a whole 50-100 people that stopped at all the venders combined and there were 15-20 of them there.

In Green Bay and WI here if he really wanted our votes he would have shown up for the Packers/Cowboy Football game on Sunday night across the street from the Resch were he gave his speech (there are more people at a Packer game than he could ever get in one place) because we have certain loyalties here….in this order ….The Green Bay Packers, Brats & Beer, God, and Country………so if you don’t know your audience then if you want to be POTUS you better learn real quick…………

He shows large photos of the Certificate of Birth which is NOT a Birth Certificate. You can get big blowups of the pictures by clicking on the pictures. These are apparently from the original pictures put up by FactCheck but replaced within one day by low resolution photos.

#342 Cat in the Hat:

Rezko has also been seen a few times recently in the US Federal Bldg in Chicago. The scuttlebutt is that he may be working out a plea agreement with the FEDS to lessen his prison time on the 16 counts he’s already convicted of. If he “sings” who knows? Rezko’s sentence was delayed a month, it’s now Oct 28, 08. Maybe that’s the reason for the delay.

Also, in case any of you haven’t heard, Obama and Dean have to furnish the US Court of PA, tomorrow with their Discovery and Depositions, in a Lawsuit filed by Philip Berg, Esq., on Obama’s claim of being a natural born citizen of the US.

Obama’s house of cards may actually be collapsing around him soon.

#376 1gypsy4mc on 09.23.08 at 11:16 am

The State of Texas will not allow Hillary’s name to be put in at this time. She would have had to be on the ballot 60 days and before to get her name there.

Also, the States that are already voting will not be allowed to add Hillary’s name – check them out though. It would depend on each state’s voting regulation rules!

Hope this helps.

*********Berg v. Obama UPDATE ALERT********

This is from a conservative blogger, Jeff Schreiber, that I check everyday for the lastest Obama information.

Jeff talked to Carl Cameron yesterday about the Berg lawsuit. Carl said that he DID NOT hear about it. So after Jeff explained some details, Carl made a phone call and referred someone to his site to view details of the lawsuit.

Berg v. Obama Update — Monday, September 22
Part Civil Procedure, Part Reporter Stalking

“First, the civil procedure.

Answers from defendant Sen. Barack Obama and defendant Democratic National Committee to the original complaint filed on August 21st by attorney and former Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Philip Berg are due on Wednesday, September 24.”

-Snip-

“Today after work, I was able to attend a McCain-Palin rally in Media, PA (photos and story can be seen below soon) and, afterwards, was able to ask “Campaign Carl” [from FoxNews] whether he knew about Philip Berg’s suit against Barack Obama. He did not.

He originally thought I was referring to some state-level action regarding ballots. When I told him it was a federal suit and that ANSWERS FROM BARACK OBAMA AND THE DNC ARE DUE ON WEDNESDAY, he made a phone call and referred someone to this site. So, to those from Fox News currently checking here, all of the materials and links for the Berg suit ARE located on the right-hand side of this page, under the “BERG v. Correction to my post #365..Every year since 1993, a report has been issued to Congress regarding the activities and financial trends of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae…If one reads these reports, it is clear why what occured ocurred. Nader has said that both parties are in the tank to multinaitonals…he is correct.
In this regard, however, McCain has in fact been the Maverick in his party, but was put down in his attempts to make corrections to financial activites by some members of his party and the DEMOCRATS, Barck, Frank, Pelosi, Kerry, Kennedy, and
Dodd among them. And I am supposed to vote a down Dem ticket? Like hell, as I have said, I will not and urge others to seriously review any Congressional candidates not just on their Hillary position, but on these very financial institutional issues. We are on the verge of a total financial collapse. And Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Franck…act surprised…and say let’s act fast, let’s protect homeowners…These bunch of frauds.

So very true. And in 2004, when the SEC came out and noted that Fannie was engaged in accounting fraud on a massive scale, that was swept under the rug by both Congress and the MSM.

What Fannie was going was failing to account for all of its liabilities and exposure, which had the magic effect of inflating their earnings, which earnings served as the basis for bonuses and stock options for Fannie executives.

Had this occurred with a public company, the SEC would have acted quickly to force a correction of the earnings, put a cease and desist order in place to prohibit those practices in the future, and to initiate enforcement actions against the executives of the company, seeking their removel and to bar them from working in a similar capacity in the future.

Now, 4 years after that revelation on outright accounting fraud, Fannie’s books are STILL not right!!!

The main culprit in this entire meltdown mess is our own Congress, and I for one am very uncomfortable with a solution coming from the very people who created this travesty in the first place. This year alone, we have already had over $300 billion in bailouts that were supposed to fix the problem (Fannie and Freddie, AIG, et al), and now we are being told it is a trillion dolar problem.

Sorry, but these measures are going to hurt the American people. You just don’t increase the size of the federal budget by a factor approaching two, and not have it hit American taxpayers below the belt.

And by the way, the package being pushed by Congress now has a provision that makes Paulson the sole arbiter of those funds, and makes any decision he makes or actions he takes not reviewable by either Congress or a Court of Law. It is effectively a bill that trashes the constitution, and pushes what amounts to a silent coups d etat. Paulson is not an elected official, and he ran one of the companies, Goldman Sachs, that contributed to this nightmare. This is an outrage.

Last night on Letterman, Bill Clinton wore a purple tie, kept fiddling with it—was that a signal?—praised Hillary several times, mentioned Biden’s “aneurysm,” applauded McCain, but said nothing about Obama, except that the Dems would win. I smell a sea-change.

#389 c4hill…On Carly…HP was on the verge of a huge decline, if not going out of business completely. She, against oppostion, made some very difficult financial decisions to save HP. Yes, jobs were lost, including her own. Net, she saved the company and is credited for its current financial strength. She was not popular to say the least. This us why McCain brought her on board. She made things happen even though it cost her.

Again, she is not a popular figure, and not someone I would have a beer with. But she is someone I would listen to for business advice.

Both parties should be held responsible for allowing the mess we are in today and Bush should be charged with war crime and treason. His damn war pretty much broke the bank and there is nothing left for improving oyur infrastructure or solving social problems.

Finally mainstream press covers this.

In today’s Wall Street Journal: “Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools”

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122212856075765367.html

“Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama’s first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers’s home….

Rumor or not I will not vote for Obama even if Hillary on ticket!! The DNC has really made a big mistake this year. If rumor is true it just shows Obama can’t get votes on his own so he has no business being POTUS!!

By the time the election gets here, the country may not have much to celebrate. We may be in a depression and on the verge of total destitution. If this was not so, both candidates would have plans to help us out of this financial crisis. But they both remain mute. Even some of the pros don’t believe the bailout is anything more than the final ‘band-aid’ and wont work in the long term.

#389 c4hill:

One of the Clinton team Obama is Franklin Raines, who is part of the reason for the Fannie Mae crisis. Obama is trying to now distance himself from Raines, but this is disputed by a WaPo article on July 16, 2008, in which Raines said he was advising Obama’s team on mortgages and housing matters, etc.

Jim Johnson who was part of Obama’s VP selection team, was involved in:

Big Democrat Jim Johnson, recently on Obama’s VP search committee, has hauled in millions from his Fannie Mae CEO job.

Also, mortgages with rates below market averages, including “a $5 million home equity line of credit against a house in Ketchum, Idaho, a 5.25% loan of $1.3 million for a home in Palm Desert, Calif., and a 3.875% loan of $971,650 for a home in Washington, D.C.” Mortgages set up through an informal program for friends of the Countrywide’s CEO, Angelo Mozilo.

These are just two with fingerprints all over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that have Obama ties.

More later.

Alice1943: Economists make no distinction beteen need and want. Advertising constantly reinforces this view. When indivduals forget the real distinction, as so many have, and when financial institutions and money players want and need all the money they can get, and are aided to do so by laws enacted by Congress with no oversight, then we end up where we are: finacial markets collapsed…and individuals not undestanding why. I urge everyone to take the time and it will take many hours of reading to attempt to read the reports on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac I note above. If you simply believe what Obimb is saying you will have swallowed one more piece of his lie. There is only one person running who attempted to make a correction in the debacle. Hispanics are a key group in most swing states.
Amongst independents, MCain is advancing as well. 32- 27 McCAIn. Sept 1-7 it was 29-28 obama.
Amongst liberal/moderate republicans MCCAin is adding to his lead. Sept 1-7 78-16% now 10-85%.

Hi Pumas !!
Time for a lighter moment:

Dear Friends,

This chain letter was started in hopes of bringing relief to tired
and discouraged women. Just send a copy of this letter to five
of your female friends who are equally tired and discontented. Then
bundle up the man in your life, send him to the woman whose name appears
at the top of the following list, and add your name to the bottom of
the list.
When your turn comes, you will receive 15,625 men. One of them
is bound to be better than the one you already have, if you have one.

At the writing of this letter, a friend of mine had already
received 184 men, all of whom were better than the sad example she
started out with.
An unmarried woman living with her widowed mother was able to choose
between a Chippendale dancer and an Olympic swimmer. You can be
lucky, too, but DO NOT BREAK THE CHAIN!

One woman broke the chain an d got her own husband back! So let’s
keep it going, ladies! Just add your name and address to the list below:

Laura Bush

Though you are right that they can chose anyone to be at the top of the ticket the general procedure is that the VP is moved up and a new VP selected…..the reason for this is that the VP has already been on the stump with the platform and has had face time and it is easier to get consensus on the lower position…………and considering who is in charge of the choice (the Dem Congressional leadership, Governors Assoc., and DNC leadership approving would not be promising for Hillary.

What do you mean “If” the Dems chose Biden to run against McCain then Biden would be crushed.

#375 CTKEY – one of my favorite persons – with this extended project I have been working on have had the opportunity to read online newspapers in the key states – and from my figures here is the following – not that I would want to just give up any State without a fight – but I am sure that BO’s team look at the same figures and decided where they are going to put their efforts into a fight if necessary to win the electoral votes -
AT THIS TIME – in BO’s column of double digits % States would have 154 Elec Votes – McCain at this time with double digit leads is 152 EV -
IF (hopefully with the upcoming debate this would not even be the case) following States that BO has a small lead all went to him – Wash, Mn., Mich, Oregon, Ia, N. Mex, Wisc, Nevada and Colorado – he would still come up short with 250 EV – IF (hopefully debates would be the issue as well) MCcain won Missouri, N. Dak, Ohio, NHamp, Va, N. Car, Florida, Penna, Inda and S. Carolina – he would come up with 285 VOTES – WINNER –

As I see it the biggest problem would be Penna that tends to be leading Demo – with that 21 EV going to BO – would make him the winner.

We all need to concentrate big time on Penna – as BO leading 48 to 45 —- lots of letters to newspapers and to TV stations please.

CT – yes you are right about Michigan – big turn around in yesterdays State polls – 51-44 for BO.

Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers – not just another guy in his neighborhood.

Article in today’s WSJ giving an overview of the close relationship they had, including Obama’s inprobable selection as Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge as a young newcomer to the Chicago scene with no experience, to his ongoing work with Ayers and ACORN.

Here’s the link, and some interesting highlights:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122212856075765367.html

“The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and “not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis.” Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC…

The CAC’s agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers’s educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism…
CAC translated Mr. Ayers’s radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with “external partners,” which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn)…

CAC’s in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement…

Mr. Ayers’s defenders claim that he has redeemed himself with public-spirited education work. That claim is hard to swallow if you understand that he views his education work as an effort to stoke resistance to an oppressive American system. He likes to stress that he learned of his first teaching job while in jail for a draft-board sit-in. For Mr. Ayers, teaching and his 1960s radicalism are two sides of the same coin.

Mr. Ayers is the founder of the “small schools” movement (heavily funded by CAC), in which individual schools built around specific political themes push students to “confront issues of inequity, war, and violence.” He believes teacher education programs should serve as “sites of resistance” to an oppressive system. (His teacher-training programs were also CAC funded.) The point, says Mr. Ayers in his “Teaching Toward Freedom,” is to “teach against oppression,” against America’s history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation.

The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming “guilt by association.” Yet the issue here isn’t guilt by association; it’s guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago.”

#429 NewOrleansPuma,

As I’ve been blogging today, I have the Banking hearing on TV. I find it amusing that these same lawmakers are now acting self-righteous with Bernanke and Paulson. Pretending they are looking out for our benefit. Right.

I also read today that Obama wanted to create an agency to investigate this financial debacle. However, there is such an agency in place already, the Government Accounting Office (GAO). Helloooooooo. And Obama has 300 advisors plus the “Clinton” advisors and he comes up with this? How in the world do Obama’s poll numbers go up when the economy is in crisis. Oh, I forgot, he’s The One.

Also, someone mentioned the Hispanic votes. I read an article yesterday on an Hispanic Leader who is supporting McCain. Although he doesn’t spell it out in the article, this Leader “trusts” McCain and wants Hispanics to do the same. (This Leader must have looked into Obama’s past ties, by the way he worded his statement)

#440 TerryDo on 09.23.08 at 12:39 pm

I would say this is another Clinton endorsement, would you?

As reported on Fox blog:

Bill Clinton said Monday he understands why Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is popular in the American heartland: because people relate to her.

“I come from Arkansas, I get why she’s hot out there, why she’s doing well.”

“People look at her, and they say, ‘All those kids. Something that happens in everybody’s family, I’m glad she loves her daughter and she’s not ashamed of her. Glad that girl’s going around with her boyfriend. Glad they’re going to get married.”‘

“I like that little Down syndrome kid. One of them lives down the street. They’re wonderful children. They’re wonderful people.

And I like the idea that this guy does those long-distance races. Stayed in the race for 500 miles with a broken arm. My kind of guy!”

“I get this,” Clinton said. “My view is … why say, ever, anything bad about a person?
Why don’t we like them and celebrate them and be happy for her elevation to the ticket?
And just say that she was a good choice for him and we disagree with them?”

Popular vote would be a very bad thing. Presidential candidates would only concentrate on densely populated areas and cities. Entire areas would be completely ignored. No campaigning, no money spent, no issues addressed.

Recap: Gore and Kerry was suppose to win, Gore’s hubris earned him nothing but self-satisfaction to recreate himself in his own delusional image.
Mr. Gore reverted to an old-style populism that alienated independent suburban white men. Gore “abandoned the fight for smaller government,” losing “new economy” men who favored “smaller government, fiscal discipline and personal responsibility.”

Senator Kerry lost because he ignored rural America, and became a noted flip-flopper taking whatever political position needed to win and standing on none …Exactly Like Obama

“Why did we lose?, Biden asked a crowd of about 50 people at the office of the York County Democratic Party. “Anybody who thinks we’re going to elect a president who cannot lay down unimpeachable credentials on national security, who cannot demonstrate by his or her record or character that they have the strength and vision to protect America as well as ending this war, I think we’re making a mistake again.” He’s Talking about Obama

Clinton Likens Obama to Kerry, Gore
Senator Clinton is warning that Senator Obama’s comments about small-town Americans make him vulnerable to the fate suffered by Vice President Gore and Senator Kerry: being labeled an out-of-touch elitist and losing to the Republicans. Obama another Gore, Kerry

Gore and Kerry was suppose to win for all the reason they say Obama should win, They lost. Why can Gore and Kerry lose like democrats, but if Obama loses it’s not because he’s channeling Gore and Kerry it’s because he’s black. what BS.
We should treat Obama different from Gore and Kerry give him special treatment because of his skin color? This is madness

The believe in press coverage but this year the press want total control of political perception. Therefore I love when the Press feels snub. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13783.html NEW YORK – Journalists, displeased with Sarah Palin’s efforts to restrict their access to her, are threatening not to cover her events surrounding the United Nations conference here unless they’re allowed more access.

The unfolding boycott is the latest development in a rocky relationship between Palin’s handlers and the press, in which the campaign has sought to tightly control her interactions with the media.

That the owner was the one to hold the mortgage and collect the interest and monthly payments directly so that you might have a chance at owning a house and there was none of this predatory vultures of American’s that are so greedy that the neighbor is forgot and the Almighty Dollar rules. I personally blame the lack of Humanity and Almighty Greed of the American conscious that brought this all about……everyone that practiced the greed and lack of humanity is to share in the blame here. And that they government needs to be run like a family budget more now than ever….if you don’t have the money on hand to buy that new car or go on that big vacation you don’t do it and do smaller or wait until the money is saved……If the average person really looked at the finances/bank book of the US they would wonder how in the world are they keeping the doors open and where are they going to get the money to pay all the creditors just something to keep from being evicted.
In this last 108 years there has only been 4 fiscally responsible Presidents….(all Revenues – all Outlay)
#1 Calvin Coolidge
#2Warren G. Harding
Tied for 3rd: Bill Clinton
Theodore Roosevelt
and then when considering the specific circumstances
FDR and Wilson

When indivduals forget the real distinction, as so many have, and when financial institutions and money players want and need all the money they can get, and are aided to do so by laws enacted by Congress with no oversight, then we end up where we are: finacial markets collapsed…and individuals not undestanding why. I urge everyone to take the time and it will take many hours of reading to attempt to read the reports on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac I note above. If you simply believe what Obimb is saying you will have swallowed one more piece of his lie. There is only one person running who attempted to make a correction in the debacle. You can protest vote by not voting, but that won’t put literal bread on your table in the next months and years.

and the 20 years of FDR and Truman’s hard work has all been whipped out because of the last 50 years of deregulation because “it’s not fair to the corporations and unacceptable to have such strong regulations in a Free-Market Society”……….I’m sorry but the only way to keep a free market society functioning profitably is to keep tight regulations on the GREED of the society for the betterment of the entire society.

Can anyone explain “MY BROTHERS” which said by BO during his two big speeches? Did he refer that to American people(brothers and sisters) OR he was talking to “Muslin Brotherhood”? The strangest thing is that his face expression looked very weird when he said those two words, also his voice was a little bit lower.

Bernanke: Recession more likely without bailout
By JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS and JEANNINE AVERSA, Associated Press Writers 4 minutes ago

WASHINGTON – Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke bluntly warned reluctant lawmakers Tuesday they risk a recession with higher unemployment and increased home foreclosures if they fail to pass the Bush administration’s $700 billion plan to bail out the financial industry.

ROFL…sad laughing….we have been way past recession since March when BearSterns collapsed and housing market failure got enven worse than it was. It is called a depression not a recession Mr.Bernanke.

456, GBPuma, I am glad that you mentioned Calvin Coolidge in your list. In my humble opinion, Coolidge along with Teddy and of course Lincoln were the greatest Republican presidents in history. I would personally say that Teddy would be number 3 and Bill Clinton would be number four because even he made some bad decisions (not many) on fiscal policy during his presidency. Passing NAFTA without preparing our workers for such a big change in our overall economy was stupid. Making it cheaper for car companies to make their cars overseas and import them here than to make them here was stupid, so his record wasn’t perfect either, but nobody’s really was. Reagan did some good things, some bad things. George H.W Bush was not that great on our economy but he conducted the first Gulf War flawlessly. With George W. Bush, no matter what anyone wants to say, if this bailout works, GWB will be in the history books as the president that saved us from a second great depression. The only really fiscally irresponsible presidents I can think of were Carter and Hoover. Obama would be on that list too if (God forbid) he gets elected. His policies are worse than Carter’s.

the numbers came from the complete analysis of their budgets and their %’s of surplus over outlays for their entire terms…..Coolidge has a 22.96% surplus, Harding a 20.56% surplus and Bill and Teddy both have a 0.47% surplus.

#455 pumasupporter on 09.23.08 at 2:11 pm

GBPuma, based on those numbers, who has been the worst?

#456 GBPuma on 09.23.08 at 2:39 pm

Given all the circumstances that they had to deal with the cleanup of the depression and ww2 I would say that Harry S. Truman and then FDR were the best financial managers as President.

And G.W. Bush could have had a surplus if it wouldn’t have been for all the war expenses….but as usual just like he did with what was it the Texas Rangers baseball team that he owned take a profitable situation and run it into the ground…..
One suggestion is NEVER elect a President that has consistent business financial failures. LOL

#458 pumasupporter on 09.23.08 at 3:00 pm

GBPuma, lol on the Texas Rangers comment. But in all fairness to GWB, no other president in history has had two recessions, the worst terror attack in history, the most devastating natural disaster in history, and two wars in the same presidency. Anything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. Like him or hate him, you have to feel for that.

To all those who BELIEVED OBAMA (none of us Pumas) the HEALTHCARE, the TAXCUTS….in the TOILET! With the bank bailouts and the situation of Wallstreet, Obama’s entire platform will be HISTORY! NOTHING, NADA, and the FACT that McCain is front and center doing his job as Senator, and being castigated for it (we know how that feels) HE is the ONLY choice to lead…HAD Hillary been the nominee this would NOT have happened, she works amazing under pressure, she like MCCAIN crosses party lines, she is well received by foreign leaders, and she has a strong background in economy….BUT, Obama….he was for HOPE and CHANGE RIGHT? WELL….lets SEE when 1/2 the country is out of work, when construction stops, banks quit lending and people quit buying and the housing market is flooded in foreclosed homes that have been vandalized, lets ALL get together and FEEL deep in our souls the HOPE and CHANGE! LETS stand together in the soup lines saying…YES WE CAN! IT will finally be the country that big tax and spend OBAMA had imagined, reminescient of his HOMELAND of KENYA where only the ELITE have privledged and the little man suffers! MAYBE then MICHELLE OBAMA will be PROUD of her country!

I agree! HE sure had a job I never would want or envy! AND imagine WHO will inherit THIS MESS! AND Obama who did nothing in the SENATE with 143 days logged as ACTUAL working days and over 140 votes NOT taking a side but saying PRESENT, and THIS GOON people believe can take on this crisis? WITH sitting down talking to the enemies, and offering college to illegal aliens, and promising a complete healthcare package to America and THIS is gonna work America? GUYS….our ENEMIES are lining up and licking their lips!

What if the bailout DOESN’T work?

THANK GOD everyone on this site is older and not drinking koolaid, but this is not just about a bailout, the MONEY has to come from somewhere, and when the government takes this headache on the domino effect will begin….lets not be naive, we all know this is the TIP of the ICEBERG, and that the effects of this will be far reaching…and OBAMA is just out of touch with what demands this is going to take! HE probably still believes that raising taxes, and giving more welfare to the poor will help stablize the economy….the BAILOUT in and of itself will NOT FIX THIS….the corruption, the schemes will continue and even get worse….everyone is going to be trying to look out for themselves…and I think for once someone should stick a sock in Nancy Pelosi’s huge yap and listen to the REPUBLICANS that are saying that the PRIVATELY held funds should have to cover some of this! WHY should all the big wigs of these banks be able to maintain their lifestyles while the little man goes belly up with his retirement and petty investments? WHY should the CEO’s and HEDGE FUND managers not have to stick their cash into the kitty also? IT can not just be a government/taxpayer loss, the higher ups who have continued to make over 90 million a year are gonna have to liquidate assets and offshore accounts and contribute as well! BUT again, lets not be naive people….a bailout regardless of the price tag is ONLY the beginning!

if they’re attached to me I’ll have to be quarantined!!

GREAT laugh for the morning…I can visualize you in a cage under observation while they notate if your mouth is foaming or if your backed into a corner with your hair standing on end! THOSE OBAMA lovers are the MEANIEST I have ever encountered and people I worked as a prison guard in a maximum security pen!
