This is the first of today’s PROWLS. It’s not exactly hush-hush, as you can see, but I want this one to reach far and wide. Today we are talking back to the Mainstream Media and the Democratic Underbelly.

I called Rolling Stone. They said he is a freelance writer, and connected me to “us” magazine. I got a voice mail of course, but left an earful and my phone number, told them I was a Puma, and this would not be the last they hear from us. I also told Rolling Stone that they are still responsible because they printed the article.

If I were President, my agenda would be:
1. Universal Health Care
2. New Deal on Public School Education
3. 1 year Military/Public Service requirement for ALL 18 year-olds
4. Practically Free College education at State universities and colleges with Major investment in rebuilding and improving the quality and infrastructure of the state college system
5. Major investment in Mass Transit, including funding green-collar constrcution and engineering jobs for American citizens

If I were a Democratic candidate “down ticket” in November I would be greatly concerned at this point. The tactics Obama is employing runs a very high risk of painting all other candidates with the same brush. DO they really want to be viewed as misogynysts and empty hacks willing to do and say anything to get elected?
And i would be especially concerned since Obama rejected Harry Reid’s plea for help out of hand. Obama not only refused to share his campaign war chest, he also refused to make appearances at DNC events which would help all DEmocrats running in November. He did graciously agree to allow them to use Obama’s name in their campaign literature.
This is just not a concern for Democrats; it is critical concern to the American people. A strong two party system provides choices and theoretically at least, keeps both sides honest.
With just 6 weeks to go, it would not surprise me at all to start seeing down ticket Dems begin to actively distance themselves from Obama.

Latest data on Obama and his pay to his female staffers shows an even greater drop in pay. The latest numbers based on Oct – March show that he now pays his women an average of 78 cents on the dollar, down from 83 cents in the prior cycle. So, he is now only 1 cent above the national average that he moans about in his speeches with equal pay for equal work and gotta improve this 77 cents on the dollar for women. Guess he figures 78 cents is an improvement so he must be off the hook! Sheesh.

Dear Editor,
I take issue with Matt Taibbi’s description of Governor Sarah Palin in the current issue of Rolling Stone.
That Mr. Taibbi dislikes Governor Palin is obvious however rather than analyze the Governor’s policies and political stances, he resorts to frankly rather adolescent name-calling such as “too dumb for TV” and “full of shit” intermingled with phraseology such as “eat her up” and “be jacked off”.
His article is a diatribe not analysis. It smacks of elitism and sexism. It is rude, disrespectful and ugly.
Governor Palin enjoys a high approval rating in her state including a 75% approval by Democrats.
She is a role model for women interested in pursuing a career in politics regardless of party affiliation.
I suggest the boy’s club starts learning how to deal with capable women. Throwing a hissy fit won’t change the change that is coming though it does make the author and the magazine that publishes him look antiquated, backwards, even neanderthal and ultimately, oh so uncool.

I remember in the 70′s I had to give a statement about a fellow employee. He was doing the same thing to other that had been done to me. When I was ask to help out I was more than willing to do so. Did I like talking about it in public hell no. Did his sorry ass finally get fired? Yes !

I think it’s a good website to help maintain because we can *always* refer to it as *proof* of sexism and misogyny.

The publisher of Rolling Stone, Jann Wenner, is in lust with Obama. He has published numerous highly loving articles about The One, and is a big contributor to his campaign. Wenner is also the publisher for US Weekly.
I don’t think Wenner cares much about women. He divorced his wife of 27 years a couple of years back and left her and his kids for a much younger plaything. The other woman, however, was the other man. Wenner and his partner recently adopted and were living a blissful life until he was seen stepping out on his new love, this time with an older man.
Now, he is certainly entitled to live his life as he wants, but his loving articles on Obama compared with his hit pieces on Palin does make one wonder whether he has any respect for women at all.
I just contacted Henry Cuellar’s (Dem Rep) office concerning the debacle with the banking solutions and asked that we get rid of all the stupid earmarks. He needs to start standing up for his state or he won’t be re-elected – bottom line. Am calling Joe Farias next!!!!!!!! I’m tired of all of this!!

This weekend’s Saturday Night Live actually ran a skit based around the suggestion that Todd Palin has sex with his daughters — because “there’s nothing else to do in Alaska”.
Each day, it’s getting increasingly more evident the Democratic Party has split permanently in two — with the radical, leftist wing swinging hard at Sarah Palin in the ugliest, most vile ways possible. The other half of the party, the Centrists, moderates, and conservative Democrats, are appalled by what the Democrats now stand for under SoetorObama – which seems to be nothing more than hate, sexism, and misogyny at this point.

I too have received these emails. I usually hit “respond to all” so that everyone on the huge mailing address gets my message — which goes something like this: “when you are sending emails intended to sully the name of a candidate, you might want to check snopes.com, or factorg.com (not that I think they aren’t in the tank), PalinRumors, to determine the veracity of the *facts* as set forward in your email. I include the link which includes the “truth.”
I really think our efforts should be focused on “truth” viral emails as well. Time is of the essence. I have no clue what our numbers are, but we all know a lot of people, who know a lot of people, etc.

#137: I don’t know. The McCain camp can keep calling out liberal media outlets like NYT and MSNBC, but then it could also hurt them. But, I think it doesn’t matter what the McCain camp says because these groups will be unfair no matter what.
Maybe the McCain camp should issue a sound statement to America, or McCain and Palin should mention in every stump speech that the liberal media (which is the majority of the media) is in the tank for Obama, and to always keep that in mind.

John McCain’s White House campaign Monday lashed out at the media and declared the venerable New York Times was “150 percent” behind Democratic hopeful Barack Obama.
McCain senior strategist Steve Schmidt rebuked journalists he said had failed in their duty to submit Obama to intense scrutiny and accused news organizations of hounding McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin.
“Whatever the New York Times once was, it is today not by any standard a journalistic organization,” said Schmidt on a conference call with reporters.
“It is a pro-Obama advocacy organization that every day attacks the McCain campaign, attacks Senator McCain, attacks Governor Palin, and excuses Senator Obama.
“This is an organization that is completely, totally, 150 percent in the tank for the Democratic candidate, which is their prerogative to be, but let’s not be dishonest and call it something other than what it is.”
“It is an organization that has made a decision to cast aside its journalistic integrity and tradition to advocate for the defeat of one candidate — in this case, John McCain.”
The McCain campaign complaints were reminiscent of comments by the campaign of former Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton, which claimed the media was giving Obama an easy ride and not properly “vetting” his candidacy.
Schmidt’s outburst came in specific response to a question about a story in Monday’s paper which said McCain campaign manager Rick Davis had lobbied for 30,000 dollars a month for five years to defend mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The two firms were taken under government control earlier this month in the early stages of the economic crisis which has consumed Wall Street and transformed the presidential campaign.
Davis said on the conference call he had been on leave of absence from his company for 18 months, and had not done any lobbying work in the area for up to a year-and-a-half before that.
The McCain campaign also defended Palin over her lack of contact with journalists, saying she had spoken to ABC News and Fox News and would soon do an interview with CBS.
“If anybody ever asked us to make a choice between seeing 60,000 people at a rally … or spending an hour with a reporter, I don’t imagine that we’d have many questions as to what we’d rather do,” said Davis.
Anger at the media was not just confined to the ranks of McCain’s campaign braintrust on Monday.
At a rally Scranton, Pennsylvania, one woman stood up in the question-and-answer period, and berated journalists, pointed a journalists and accused them of exploiting the pregnancy of Palin’s unwed teenaged daughter.
“They need to start doing their job and stop picking on little children because of their age and their pregnancies, shame on you,” she shouted, provoking delighted cheers at the rally among the mainly Irish American audience.
The Obama campaign mocked Schmidt’s comments as a “laughable screed” and sent journalists a list of 40 “probing” stories the paper had written on the Illinois Senator.
Spokesman Bill Burton said the Times had not done any stories on McCain’s role in a 1980s Savings and Loans scandal when he was accused of improperly helping a financier counter regulators.
McCain was cleared of corruption in the “Keating Five” case but accused of showing poor judgement. He overcame association with the scandal by throwing himself into the reform of campaign finance laws.
The New York Times is regarded by some observers in America as a paragon of journalistic standards which keeps its news reporting and opinion comment strictly separate.
But it is reviled by conservatives who rail against the perceived liberal bias of the mainstream media.

Obama’s Mythical Intelligence
Much has been written about Obama’s “mythical intelligence” by a media completely in the tank for the boy blunder. His intelligence is , in fact, a myth. Atlas reader Carolyn wrote an excellent piece peeling back the layers of the mendacious narrative to uncover what a lightweight the Soros stooge really is. She describes the unmeritorious means Obama used to achieve his goals – particularly President of the Law Review. When I was in Washington yesterday we were discussing this little mentioned truth – Obama’s year as President produced little worthwhile or significant. Obama’s year is the least cited review. He produced nothing of import.
The smoke of Obama’s ‘intelligence’ Carolyn
Obama’s much vaunted intelligence is in reality nothing but smoke and mirrors.
As nearly everyone has noted lately, Obama’s grasp on facts is being revealed as tenuous at best and embarrassing at worst, as evidenced by his recent gaffe about his uncle having ‘liberated’ Auschwitz when in fact NO American soldier did anything of the kind (in fact – as the quickest glance at a history book will tell you, no American soldier ever set foot in Poland where Auschwitz is located). Now, this kind of lapse could be excused as a typical political mistake, etc. – but in Obama’s case, that excuse can’t be used. It’s not just because this type of typical ‘political’ mistake is what Obama has sworn he’s not – i.e., a typical politician – more to the point, this silly mistake reveals Obama’s ignorance of the bare minimum of historical fact. And such ignorance shakes the very foundation of Obama’s chief qualification for being President – i.e., Obama’s vaunted intelligence. Since everyone acknowledges he lacks experience for the job, the only reason left to support Obama’s claim to the position is because of his intelligence.
Constant references have been given as to Obama’s near-mythical intelligence – and over and over again, every one claims that the ‘proof’ of that intelligence is the fact that Obama was President of the Harvard Law Review. And that is a staggering achievement. Only the best and the brightest achieve that – only a student at the top of the grade scale, only a student of outstanding writing skills and superb legal acumen is accorded that honor. It is such a high honor that this accomplishment follows that student through to the rest of his life – it is mentioned in his vitae, his honors, indeed in his very obituary as the incontestable proof of his intelligence. Therefore, it is understandable that all doubts of Obama’s intelligence are instantly assuaged by revealing he was President of the Harvard Law Review.
Assuaged, that is, until one looks a bit closer.
To begin with, the NY Times 1990 article on Obama being elected President of the Harvard Law Review casts the first troubling clues that all is not what it appears to be.
“Until the 1970’s the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank. Among these were Elliot L. Richardson, the former Attorney General, and Irwin Griswold, a dean of the Harvard Law School and Solicitor General under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon.
That system came under attack in the 1970’s and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition. The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review.”
There is the Achilles heel. The former high standards which all previous Presidents of the Harvard Law Review had been forced to meet – grades, papers, etc.- no longer existed by the time Obama was elected. Instead, the post was selected on something different than grades, papers, etc. It was selected on race. Obama was the ‘right’ race. He was black. Now of course, that doesn’t mean Obama did NOT have intelligence – but what it makes clear is that by the time he was elected, Presidency of the Review no longer proved he DID. Indeed, at the very moment of his election, the proof of his intelligence was so missing that his predecessor at the job refused to confirm it. Of course, the predecessor trode very cautiously and carefully in his statement issued after Obama had just been elected – but the meaning was clear.:
“Mr. Obama succeeds Peter Yu, a first-generation Chinese-American, as president of The Law Review. After graduation, Mr. Yu plans to serve as a clerk for Chief Judge Patricia Wald on the of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Yu said Mr. Obama’s election ”was a choice on the merits, but others may read something into it.”
Mr. Yu’s words are ominous – ‘others may read something into it.” Clearly, Mr. Yu clearly can’t say he’s one of those ‘others’ recognizing ‘merits’ to instead mean ‘race’. After all, Yu sees which way the PC winds are blowing and he certainly doesn’t want them howling in his face by saying Obama got his post for something other than his intelligence. At the same time, however, Yu’s unease at the choice of Obama is telling for what Yu does not say, as for what he does. For instance, Yu does not cite Obama’s grades nor does Yu cite Obama’s legal writings. Yu says nothing about them at all – and the silence is deafening.
Reading the NY Times further reveals other telltale signs that Obama did not possess the intelligence for that position. As with Mr. Yu’s painfully parsed statement, the signs are noticeable more for what they do not say, than for what they do.
We begin with a brief explanation of the legal world Obama claims to belong to by reason of his intelligence. That world is defined by 3 inescapable proofs of such intelligence. They are: (1) high grades, (2) prestigious organizations (i.e, the Law Review) and (3) clerkship with a judge.
We will begin with the first and most obvious sign of intelligence – grades.
Obama doesn’t have them. Oh, he’s given the aura of possessing them – but when one looks closely at that aura, it disappears like smoke before your eyes. For instance, not once has anyone, ever, at any time, produced those grades. In no publication, either Obama’s or anyone else’s, has any cite been made of that average – was it a 4.0? (Straight A’s?) Was it even higher – 4.3? (A+) (And today’s high school seniors are graduating with 5.0.) Okay, how about a 3.9 or 3.8? No. The answer is none. Never. At no time have Obama’s grades ever been cited. And that is damning. Because as any person who’s ever graduated from elementary, high school or college will tell you, their grade point average is so close to their identity as to be the identity itself. Therefore – for that ‘identity’ to be invisible as is the case with Obama, is quite revealing. In plain words, if someone doesn’t mention a high grade point average, it’s for only one reason – there isn’t a high grade point average.
(2) prestigious organizations
Yes, Obama was elected President of the law review. But, as I’ve already cited, this election came when the qualifications of high grades had been eliminated. Therefore one has to look at the other reasons for that election – which necessitates looking at how Obama was elected.
As the NY Times article cites, “Mr. Obama was elected after a meeting of the review’s 80 editors that convened Sunday and lasted until early this morning, a participant said.” In other words, 80 people got together and in a wearying all night session in which fists were banged on the tables and the air was loud with ‘we have to get a BLACK in this position, it’s 1990, for crissakes and we haven’t got one” – the weary people in the early morning hours, exhausted, worn out and unable, unwilling to fight any longer simply chose the only candidate they could think of to be President of the Review. Obama.
And if you think I’m laboring too much on the PC reasons for Obama’s election, the NY Times itself describes the vicious political background against which Obama was elected.

“…Mr. Obama was the most prominent minority student on a campus shaken by racial politics. A group agitating for greater faculty diversity occupied the dean’s office and sued the school for discrimination; Derrick Bell, a black law professor, resigned over the issue.
The law review struggled to decide whether affirmative action should factor into the selection of editors, and how much voice to give to critical race theorists, who argued that the legal system was inherently biased against minorities.”
Well, it is clear the committee choosing the President of the Review did ‘factor in’ affirmative action. And it is just as clear they didn’t factor in his grades. Nor did they cite his papers written. In fact, there was not a mention of either. Instead, the committee abandoned them altogether and went to something completely unrelated – politics. In citing Obama’s qualifications, they pointed out that he had worked the political wards in Chicago before he came to Harvard. You may well ask – what does this have to do with grades or legal acumen? The answer is – nothing. And the answer gets even more troubling when one then realizes that after Obama was elected to President of the Law Review, he wrote no papers. That’s totally unheard of. Writing no papers for the Law Review is like taking a class in gymnastics without even putting on your leotards to work out. The whole reason for existence of the Review is to write a paper. And yet the very President of it writes none.
(3) clerkship with a judge
This is a shocking failure of Obama’s that he did not clerk with a judge after graduation. The fact that it is a shocking failure is evidenced by the embarrassed committee admitting it up front so as to beat others to it.:
“The president of the law review usually goes on to serve as a clerk for a judge on the Federal Court of Appeals for a year, and then as a clerk for an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Mr. Obama said he planned to spend two or three years in private law practice and then return to Chicago to re-enter community work, either in politics or in local organizing.”
“..usually goes on to serve as a clerk”. This polite sentence means ALL Harvard Law Review presidents serve for judges after graduation. Even Obama’s predecessor, Mr. Yu, did that. Indeed, Yu cited his clerkship with a judge so fast you almost thought it was part of his name. And in a sense, it is. There’s a reason why ALL graduates who clerk with a judge trumpet their clerkships instantly in your face. Clerking with a judge is the sign of a law graduate’s intelligence. Bar none. That’s why it’s on their resumes, why it’s the first thing they talk about in conversation “ah, yes, when I clerked with Judge so and so,” etc. It is so prestigious it’s the first thing other attorneys cite when they discuss that particular person – ‘Ah yes, HE clerked with Judge so and so”, etc. In short, clerkship is the shining golden symbol that this attorney is smart. Why? Because judges do not pick stupid people. Why not? Because the clerks oversee the papers for the judge, help write them, do the bulk of research for them, etc. The judge then stands on that work in reaching his decisions, rendering his judgment. Thus, if the work produced by that clerk is faulty – which it will be if the clerk is stupid – than the judge pays for it with his own career, his own reputation. And of course, no judge will do that. Which is why no judge will hire a stupid clerk.
Which thus brings us to the unstated but painfully obvious sign of Obama’s lack of intelligence. Despite holding the staggering position of the Harvard Law Review – NO judge, not one, not a single one, offered a clerkship to Obama. It wasn’t because Obama wasn’t free for the asking. As he made clear in his statement upon accepting the position of President of the Review, Obama eagerly made his availability known by declaring that he would be practicing law for ‘two or three’ years after leaving Harvard. I.e., he was open for the clerk’s position. Except – no judge gave it to him. None.
And Obama painfully admitted he knew this would happen. While other graduates went on to clerkships with judges, the Court of Appeals, even the Supreme Court, etc. or even to prestigious top flight law firms which take only the best of the best, Obama admitted he was not in line for any of that. He would be going for something else. The same ’something’ which had landed him the title of President of the Harvard Law Review – but not the benefits of such. Once the glitter and glisten of that title had worn off, the bare reality beneath was that Obama was nothing a politically glib individual able to talk well in abstract – but not produce in concrete. And the judges had recognized that fact by refusing to give him a clerkship. The brutally competitive law firms had also recognized that by not giving him a position at their firms. Therefore, there was only one venue open to him – politics. As the NY Times put it, Obama would be returning to Chicago to “re-enter community work, either in politics or in local organizing.”
Such then is the smoke and mirrors of Obama’s vaunted ‘intelligence’. To this day, he has blown that smoke skillfully in the faces of the liberals to lull them into not asking questions – much the same way the ancient Kings of France blew smoke into the faces of their hunting birds to quieten and lull them into inaction. The terrible problem is that modern bloody birds of prey like Ahmadinijad, Chavez and the Taliban, etc. are not lulled by smoke. To the contrary, these terrorists have mastered the art of blowing their own smoke into the world’s face to lull it into submission and inaction. Such years of mastery means these terrorists will make short shrift of the untested Junior senator from Illinois’s huffing and puffing. Obama’s smoke will be blown back instantly into his face by the hot breath of their hate and insane contempt for human life.
Which will leave Obama with only his intelligence to defend him – and us. Unfortunately, as the above arguments sadly prove, Obama’s intelligence itself appears to be smoke. Thus leaving us with a potential Commander in Chief able to defend this country with — what?
For this country’s safety, we must pierce the smoke of Obama’s ‘intelligence’ at the earliest possible moment. If Obama’s smoke of obfuscation obscures long enough to gain him the White House, that fatal smoke could be blown away only to reveal a greater smoke rising from the ruins of America – a deadly smoke which next time will surely dwarf the ghostly clouds which broiled up from the burning buildings and planes on 9/11.

Mr. Yu’s words are ominous – ‘others may read something into it.” Clearly, Mr. Yu clearly can’t say he’s one of those ‘others’ recognizing ‘merits’ to instead mean ‘race’. After all, Yu sees which way the PC winds are blowing and he certainly doesn’t want them howling in his face by saying Obama got his post for something other than his intelligence. At the same time, however, Yu’s unease at the choice of Obama is telling for what Yu does not say, as for what he does. For instance, Yu does not cite Obama’s grades nor does Yu cite Obama’s legal writings. Yu says nothing about them at all – and the silence is deafening.
Reading the NY Times further reveals other telltale signs that Obama did not possess the intelligence for that position. As with Mr. Yu’s painfully parsed statement, the signs are noticeable more for what they do not say, than for what they do.
We begin with a brief explanation of the legal world Obama claims to belong to by reason of his intelligence. That world is defined by 3 inescapable proofs of such intelligence. They are: (1) high grades, (2) prestigious organizations (i.e, the Law Review) and (3) clerkship with a judge.
We will begin with the first and most obvious sign of intelligence – grades.
Obama doesn’t have them. Oh, he’s given the aura of possessing them – but when one looks closely at that aura, it disappears like smoke before your eyes. For instance, not once has anyone, ever, at any time, produced those grades. In no publication, either Obama’s or anyone else’s, has any cite been made of that average – was it a 4.0? (Straight A’s?) Was it even higher – 4.3? (A+) (And today’s high school seniors are graduating with 5.0.) Okay, how about a 3.9 or 3.8? No. The answer is none. Never. At no time have Obama’s grades ever been cited. And that is damning. Because as any person who’s ever graduated from elementary, high school or college will tell you, their grade point average is so close to their identity as to be the identity itself. Therefore – for that ‘identity’ to be invisible as is the case with Obama, is quite revealing. In plain words, if someone doesn’t mention a high grade point average, it’s for only one reason – there isn’t a high grade point average.
(2) prestigious organizations
Yes, Obama was elected President of the law review. But, as I’ve already cited, this election came when the qualifications of high grades had been eliminated. Therefore one has to look at the other reasons for that election – which necessitates looking at how Obama was elected.
As the NY Times article cites, “Mr. Obama was elected after a meeting of the review’s 80 editors that convened Sunday and lasted until early this morning, a participant said.” In other words, 80 people got together and in a wearying all night session in which fists were banged on the tables and the air was loud with ‘we have to get a BLACK in this position, it’s 1990, for crissakes and we haven’t got one” – the weary people in the early morning hours, exhausted, worn out and unable, unwilling to fight any longer simply chose the only candidate they could think of to be President of the Review. Obama.
And if you think I’m laboring too much on the PC reasons for Obama’s election, the NY Times itself describes the vicious political background against which Obama was elected.

“…Mr. Obama was the most prominent minority student on a campus shaken by racial politics. A group agitating for greater faculty diversity occupied the dean’s office and sued the school for discrimination; Derrick Bell, a black law professor, resigned over the issue.
The law review struggled to decide whether affirmative action should factor into the selection of editors, and how much voice to give to critical race theorists, who argued that the legal system was inherently biased against minorities.”
Well, it is clear the committee choosing the President of the Review did ‘factor in’ affirmative action. And it is just as clear they didn’t factor in his grades. Nor did they cite his papers written. In fact, there was not a mention of either. Instead, the committee abandoned them altogether and went to something completely unrelated – politics. In citing Obama’s qualifications, they pointed out that he had worked the political wards in Chicago before he came to Harvard. You may well ask – what does this have to do with grades or legal acumen? The answer is – nothing. And the answer gets even more troubling when one then realizes that after Obama was elected to President of the Law Review, he wrote no papers. That’s totally unheard of. Writing no papers for the Law Review is like taking a class in gymnastics without even putting on your leotards to work out. The whole reason for existence of the Review is to write a paper. And yet the very President of it writes none.
(3) clerkship with a judge
This is a shocking failure of Obama’s that he did not clerk with a judge after graduation. The fact that it is a shocking failure is evidenced by the embarrassed committee admitting it up front so as to beat others to it.:
“The president of the law review usually goes on to serve as a clerk for a judge on the Federal Court of Appeals for a year, and then as a clerk for an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Mr. Obama said he planned to spend two or three years in private law practice and then return to Chicago to re-enter community work, either in politics or in local organizing.”
“..usually goes on to serve as a clerk”. This polite sentence means ALL Harvard Law Review presidents serve for judges after graduation. Even Obama’s predecessor, Mr. Yu, did that. Indeed, Yu cited his clerkship with a judge so fast you almost thought it was part of his name. And in a sense, it is. There’s a reason why ALL graduates who clerk with a judge trumpet their clerkships instantly in your face. Clerking with a judge is the sign of a law graduate’s intelligence. Bar none. That’s why it’s on their resumes, why it’s the first thing they talk about in conversation “ah, yes, when I clerked with Judge so and so,” etc. It is so prestigious it’s the first thing other attorneys cite when they discuss that particular person – ‘Ah yes, HE clerked with Judge so and so”, etc. In short, clerkship is the shining golden symbol that this attorney is smart. Why? Because judges do not pick stupid people. Why not? Because the clerks oversee the papers for the judge, help write them, do the bulk of research for them, etc. The judge then stands on that work in reaching his decisions, rendering his judgment. Thus, if the work produced by that clerk is faulty – which it will be if the clerk is stupid – than the judge pays for it with his own career, his own reputation. And of course, no judge will do that. Which is why no judge will hire a stupid clerk.
Which thus brings us to the unstated but painfully obvious sign of Obama’s lack of intelligence. Despite holding the staggering position of the Harvard Law Review – NO judge, not one, not a single one, offered a clerkship to Obama. It wasn’t because Obama wasn’t free for the asking. As he made clear in his statement upon accepting the position of President of the Review, Obama eagerly made his availability known by declaring that he would be practicing law for ‘two or three’ years after leaving Harvard. I.e., he was open for the clerk’s position. Except – no judge gave it to him. None.
And Obama painfully admitted he knew this would happen. While other graduates went on to clerkships with judges, the Court of Appeals, even the Supreme Court, etc. or even to prestigious top flight law firms which take only the best of the best, Obama admitted he was not in line for any of that. He would be going for something else. The same ’something’ which had landed him the title of President of the Harvard Law Review – but not the benefits of such. Once the glitter and glisten of that title had worn off, the bare reality beneath was that Obama was nothing a politically glib individual able to talk well in abstract – but not produce in concrete. And the judges had recognized that fact by refusing to give him a clerkship. The brutally competitive law firms had also recognized that by not giving him a position at their firms. Therefore, there was only one venue open to him – politics. As the NY Times put it, Obama would be returning to Chicago to “re-enter community work, either in politics or in local organizing.”
Such then is the smoke and mirrors of Obama’s vaunted ‘intelligence’. To this day, he has blown that smoke skillfully in the faces of the liberals to lull them into not asking questions – much the same way the ancient Kings of France blew smoke into the faces of their hunting birds to quieten and lull them into inaction. The terrible problem is that modern bloody birds of prey like Ahmadinijad, Chavez and the Taliban, etc. are not lulled by smoke. To the contrary, these terrorists have mastered the art of blowing their own smoke into the world’s face to lull it into submission and inaction. Such years of mastery means these terrorists will make short shrift of the untested Junior senator from Illinois’s huffing and puffing. Obama’s smoke will be blown back instantly into his face by the hot breath of their hate and insane contempt for human life.
Which will leave Obama with only his intelligence to defend him – and us. Unfortunately, as the above arguments sadly prove, Obama’s intelligence itself appears to be smoke. Thus leaving us with a potential Commander in Chief able to defend this country with — what?
For this country’s safety, we must pierce the smoke of Obama’s ‘intelligence’ at the earliest possible moment. If Obama’s smoke of obfuscation obscures long enough to gain him the White House, that fatal smoke could be blown away only to reveal a greater smoke rising from the ruins of America – a deadly smoke which next time will surely dwarf the ghostly clouds which broiled up from the burning buildings and planes on 9/11.

I read in September’s Vogue magazine, one of the Assistant Publishing Editors, quit her job to campaign full time for Obama. She is African American and she believes in him. Obviously, just in case Dances is reading this, I am not advocating anyone do this – just illustrating how passionate and hungry Obama’s people are. I admire their convictions. If Obama were a White man, I don’t think anything like this will happen.

The FBI and Secret Service launched a formal investigation on Sept. 17 into the hacking of one of Palin’s Yahoo! e-mail accounts. Yahoo! declined to comment Sept. 18 on details of the investigation, citing Palin’s privacy and the sensitivity of such investigations.
A Department of Justice spokesman told WBIR-TV that there has been “investigatory activity” in Knoxville regarding the investigation. A witness told the station that several agents arrived at Kernell’s apartment complex early Sunday morning.

I’m sorry but as a woman voter, a subscriber to Rolling Stone & lifelong Democrat I don’t see how you can call Sarah Palin a “fraud” or “tawdry.” Those seem like incredibly sexist terms especially given the fact the our own Party Leaders – Harold Dean and Nancy Pelosi – did a lousy job of vetting the candidate they selected to run for President (Obama). But maybe this is a good opportunity to communicate with you from the reader’s perspective. I subscribe to RS and read your sexist commentary and look at your sexist ads month after month. I only continue to read your publication while holding my nose because I want to keep current on Music. Why can’t you just stick to the topic at hand, Music – instead of trying to be what you are so clearly not?! I’m weary – and truly offended – at the continued gender bias displayed in the pages of Rolling Stone month after month.
Think about it, guys. Ok, Anna, you asked about Obama and Logan Act? This came to people’s attention because of two NY Post articles by Amir Teheri. McCain camp made a statement and Obama camp made two statements. We are now waiting for Amir Teheri to respond the latest from republican Hagel who stood up for Obama, and said that Obama behaved during the meetings, but he cited the first meeting with someone else, and NOT the second meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, and besides, Hagel endorsed Obama and really wanted to be his VP, so this guy is useless.

I was listening to the financial news on tv and part of the Government bailout Paulson said is to be used to bailout Foreign banks not only US banks. Paulson said the Foreign banks have US employees here. It’s bad enough we’re bailing out US banks now Paulson wants us to bail out foreign ones!
You know if the Government would have listened to Hillary last winter when she said to freeze mortgage payments and renegotiate them to more affordable payments, this financial crisis wouldn’t have happened.
The people would have been able to make their payments and the banks, while not getting the higher mortgage payment, would have been getting paid and the collapse of these institutions would have been averted.

I noticed that Mama mentioned “paying for the lights” on the blog she wrote a few days ago (Saturday morning?).
I know we paid for Denver (most have seen the basic accounting), and we’ve been encouraged to contribute to the Real Democrats USA for their anti-obama campaign, and for Denver’s ad campaign, and numerous other campaigns and causes, and it’s rough for me to ask , but, I’m wondering if we all of us who can affod to, would mind contributing to “keeping teh lights on”? The blog has monthly fees associtaed with it, and we use it as our base, to connect and communicate, and support each other… it’s important to all of us.

True, the Democratic Party have new registered Democrats, but the report last July, the Democratic Party have lost about 3 or 4% Democratic members. Where did these 3 to 4% Democrats went? Why did they left the Democratic Party? These group of people amounting to millions are the BASE of the Democratic Party, who always go out and vote rain or shine even with freaking ice up to their waist line. These group of people also are RELIABLE to turn out in every precint in USA and wait for hours on long lines to cast their vote.
These group of people who left the democratic are now independent voters, these are the people who will decide the outcome in general election who’ll be the next President. I’m one of those independent voters, I left the Democratic Party June 5, 2008.
Now lets start the subject in relation to Bill Clinton. President Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas, an executive level positon, his experience was Domestic, that means domestic policies; economy, state security and so on and so forth. When he ran for President, he choose Senator Al Gore of TN to be his VP; Gore was well verse with Foreign Policy which Clinton lacks. By Choosing Al Gore, Clinton balance what is lacking on his experience to be Commander In Chief of United States of America. Between him and Al Gore, they’ve covered both areas which is a MUST for President of USA.
When Senator John McCain choose Governor Sarah Palin as his VP, it was a VERY SMART MOVE on his part. McCain is a US Senator like Obama, he doesn’t have any executive level experience which is a MUST for a President, he’d be dealing more with Domestic Policies than Foreign policies which is McCain’s field as US Senator for 20 odd years. By choosing Palin as his VP, it balanced out what he is lacking. Another thing, when he choose Palin, he have a VP who is a maverick, a reformist with a track record for reforming her own state even going after her own party which is rather unique and never heard in this county.
This is the BIGGEST problem of the Democratic Party with NObama/Biden ticket. Both of this men do NOT have track record running an executive level position which deals with Domestic Policies like economics. Both of these men are in the US senate, LEGISLATING BILLS to be signed INTO LAW by the President. They don’t know how to run a state, how much more a country! They don’t know what it’s like to balance a budget in the state level, you need to be in the executive level position to do that. In fact, among the four of them; NObama, NObiden, McCain, Palin, ONLY Sarah Palin has EXECUTIVE LEVEL EXPERIENCE. McCain is on the safe side on this, he has Sarah Palin with experience to run a state and rich oil state to advice him when it pertains to Domestic policies. With our economy right now in bad shape, I would trust McCain/Palin to make the right decision than NObama/Biden who do NOT have an ounce of experience in executive level position. Writing Bills and sponsoring or co-sponsoring them is easy, NO ONE is responsble, a Governor is responsible for EVERYTHING whenever he/she affix her signature that includes signing bills into LAW passed by the State Senate.
Who would I trust to be our next President? Senator John McCain, his VP is a GOVERNOR. That’s the reason we seldom elect a US Senator for President, always a GOVERNOR due to the factgubernatorialship is an EXECUTIVE LEVEL position like President of USA in the FEDERAL LEVEL.

Barack Obama’s campaign denied a New York Post report Monday that said the Democratic presidential candidate privately tried to persuade Iraqi political leaders to stall an agreement on scaling back American troops in Iraq while publicly campaigning for a speedy withdrawal.

Obama also tried to persuade the U.S. commanders, including Gen. David Petraeus, to offer a “realistic withdrawal date,” the Post reported. The commanders declined, the newspaper said.
A top foreign policy adviser to Obama sat in on the meetings between the candidate and Iraqi officials this summer and said no such conversations occurred, the campaign said Monday.

FLINT, Mich. — Obama reiterated his commitment to withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq during a telephone conversation this morning with the country’s foreign minister, he told reporters in a 10-minute press conference on the tarmac here.
The presumptive Democratic nominee told Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari that he looked forward to seeing him in Baghdad and told reporters he also wanted to visit Afghanistan, saying the situation there continued to deteriorate — noting a prison break this past weekend. He declined to specify when such trips would take place, but said he would like to go before the election.

The men spoke about the progress U.S. troops have made in helping to reduce the violence in Iraq but Obama told Zebari troop withdrawals must go forward.
“I emphasized to him how encouraged I was by the reductions in violence in Iraq, but also insisted that it is important for us to begin the process of withdrawing U.S. troops, making clear that we have no interest in permanent bases in Iraq,” the senator said. “I gave him an assurance that should we be elected, an Obama administration will make sure that we continue with the progress that’s been made in Iraq, that we won’t act precipitously, but that we will move to end U.S. combat forces in Iraq in a manner that’s as careful as we were careless getting in.”
The need to withdraw is twofold, Obama said. Reprising an argument he has been making for months, he cited the need to encourage the Iraqi government to make the political accommodations on matters like oil revenues and provincial elections, which the surge was supposed to help happen. He argued that the progress made in the South and in Sadr City showed the need not for a longer commitment but a shorter one, because they indicate a greater capacity on the part of Iraqis to deal effectively with their security. Obama said the second reason was the $10- to-12 billion being spent each month in the country, a statistic he often cites when discussing the need to withdraw.
In response to a question about how much flexibility there would be to withdrawal plans, Obama said he still believed U.S. forces could be out of the country within about 16 months and that “I’ve also consistently said that I will consult with military commanders on the ground and that we will always be open to the possibility of tactical adjustments. The important thing is to send a clear signal to the Iraqi people and most importantly to the Iraqi leadership that the U.S. occupation in Iraq is finite, it is gonna be coming to a foreseeable end.”
He said he told Zebari that negotiations for a Status of Forces agreement or strategic framework agreement between the two countries should be done in the open and with Congress’s authorization and that it was important that that there be strong bipartisan support for any agreement so that it can be sustained through a future administration. He argued it would make sense to hold off on such negotiations until the next administration.
“My concern is that the Bush administration–in a weakened state politically–ends up trying to rush an agreement that in some ways might be binding to the next administration, whether it was my administration or Sen. McCain’s administration,” Obama said. “The foreign minister agreed that the next administration should not be bound by an agreement that’s currently made.”

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.
“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview.
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops – and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its “state of weakness and political confusion.”
“However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open.” Zebari says.
Though Obama claims the US presence is “illegal,” he suddenly remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework of a UN mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an accord with the “weakened Bush administration,” Iraq should seek an extension of the UN mandate.
While in Iraq, Obama also tried to persuade the US commanders, including Gen. David Petraeus, to suggest a “realistic withdrawal date.” They declined.

#539 KarenWI, the thing is that Republicans can’t publicize McCain’s political past because it will deter the conservative base from voting for him. So, if BO portrays McCain as ultra-conservative (which he isn’t) it actually helps them with their base. I did see an ad that called McCain a “maverick” so I think they were trying to reach out to undecided people with that. McCain is not a third term Bush. McCain seems like a thinking person and not cynical like W.

I really enjoyed the prowl! I would like to see some sort of statement from NOW regarding BO and the way he pays women 78% of men’s salary’s and why NOW didn’t make an issue of this forcing BO to do something about it if he wanted their endorsement. Also the very fact that BO does not have a heading on his comments site for “women’s issues” tells us a lot about how important he thinks we are. It would be interesting and probably funny to see what convoluted excuse making comment NOW would make for BO.

Tensions were getting high on the blog, its good that she brought most people together by addressing such an important reality that we are all different in many ways but to use colour to define us is wrong. And I agree when people use colour to win battles its about power not race. She really really summed up the whole problem. No one else could ever bring up race in the way she did without getting lynched, I admire the way she handles contentious topics.

Short story.
I have an older lady who comes in the store almost daily and she sits down and likes to chat.
She started bashing Sarah Palin and I stopped her dead in her tracks and told her she wasn’t being very nice.
Then she called me a racist.
Excuse me? Me? She said I was racist because I was not voting for Obama.
I told her I was not voting for him because he lacks experience to run our country.
I told her that we need not talk politics. She has her views, I have mine.
Then I got thinking about her calling me a racist. Me. I have wonderful AA friends. The local President of the NAACP is a good friend of mine. We sit together at city council meetings.
The past President of the NAACP is a friend of mine. We also sit at city council and school board meetings together. We think alike. I respect both of them, they respect me.
They know my veiws on Obama. I know theirs. I won’t vote for him, they will. Why. Why are we all democrats yet I’m not supporting Obama?
I took off my rose colored glasses and can see clearly. To my friend who comes in the store, I am not a racist. I have common sense.

Thank you, I read the blog every evening, I’m just terribly swamped lately at work and in the evenings but I really do love relaxing after work to catch up. LOL wow you guys really do type a lot, it’s great. I never realized it til I had to stop logging on during work and then catching up later. 2 hours of reading and I’m only half way though the day.

Today she let loose about she can’t vote for BO because he’s black, but did tell her sister that they’re not really going to paint the white house black, she met Hillary and talked to her when she worked at Lockheed (I think she said), she likes Hillary, but most of the people she knows and worked with won’t vote BO as he is black. I tried to tell her that wasn’t the reason that BO is unacceptable, but she insisted, ” That is my reason”.
It is out there, and we seem to be fighting both wars at the moment, trying to refute the idea that we are racist and trying to convince others that they should not vote for BO because of his many shortcomings, not because he is half-black. (poorly stated but I hope you get my intent. )

I have another friend, AA who comes right out and says;
“My brother is gonna be President”. I can talk to him and try to reason with him that voting for skin color is not reason enough.
He doesn’t listen, but I try! And yes, this is an AA who has NEVER exercised his right to vote before THIS election. I find that sad.
