ALSO, Tonight we are hosting a fundraiser to help Heidi Li and her group, Democrats for Principles before Party, place an ad in Congressional Quarterly. The ads Heidi and her partner Marc Rubin have placed were tremendously effective at changing the pre-Denver narrative.
If everyone reading tonight donates just $5 (or $10 if you’ve got it) we can put Heidi over the top!

Hiya Murphy! I hope you don’t mind. I looked in the last thread to see if you’d been around recently, but didn’t see the yellow comments. You posted while I set this one up. Hope it’s okay!

Hi ya Annabelle
Donation on the way… paypal $25 to keep BO out of the White House!

******* DEFEATING BO *******
…………………………………………………….
In Tom In Paine’s latest blog-posting he argues that a big BO defeat in Nov is the best thing that can happen for the country and the Democratic Party.
> For a BO-defeat (big or small) to happen we need to do everything we can!
> We need to focus a lot of our efforts on the battleground (swing) states (esp OH, PA, FL, VA, CO, MI, WI, MN, NM, etc)
There are many things we can do…
- Write & send persuasive emails w/links and Forward good articles to everyone and to the media (see media addresses and Talking Points suggestions in the Action Center)… also – blog & post comments all over the Web.
- Talk to & phone others (we need phone lists!), – distribute flyers, – reach out to key voting blocs (HRC-voters, Latinos, seniors, women, etc), – work w/groups doing effective “anti-BO” campaigning (including http://www.johnmccain.com/ to phone undecideds, donate, etc)

ACTION ACCOMPLISHMENTS & COMMITMENTS

freddiebrown WROTE:
I think it would be nice to have everyone post what they have been doing to help make sure Obama is not elected.
Just like what you have posted on who you would vote for, let us know what you have done or will do BESIDES the prowls. It would put things into perspective and we can all get an idea of what else is needed to be done.
I will start the ball rolling.
1) FreddieBrown- Creating new flyer, sending out 3,000 + emails this week on NoBama, talking to friends, strangers alike about NoBama, plan on sending 1,700 faxes of flyers by e-fax, soliciting new people to hand out posters
——————————-
YES! *Great idea*! Not only post your accomplishments, but also what you plan to do (like in the next few days or week)… and update us w/a new post periodically…
[I already posted my personal action items downstairs, as did a few others]
I’m willing to gather people’s entries and periodically post updated lists of people’s actions (put a heading on your post to help me find it).

If anyone suspects Election fraud of ANY kind is going on in thier State , please report it .
“Burrus: Americans have a right to expect fair, open, and honest elections—it’s a cornerstone of our democracy. (Ladyhawke, I posted this message #622 downstairs and wanted to be certain you saw it.)
What’s with the race card being pulled out again big time by the bozo campaign lately? Do the Dems know he is most likely going to lose so they’re going to say America is racist when he does? Or is this a guilt trip strategy to help him win? This tactic has gone beyond stupid and annoying now to just plain idiotic.

Prominent Latino Hillary backer defects to McCain
———–
As Barack Obama and John McCain battle for the Hispanic vote, a leading Latino backer of Hillary Clinton is crossing party lines to support the Republican presidential nominee.
In an interview Thursday, Miguel D. Lausell, a Puerto Rican businessman and longtime Democratic activist and fund-raiser, came out for Sen. McCain. While he said he doesn’t agree with all the policy positions of the Republican candidate and his running mate, Sarah Palin, Mr. Lausell added: “I find McCain to be a sound person and a man with a track record. I know where he is coming from.” Mr. Lausell had been a major backer of Bill Clinton and served as a senior political adviser to Sen. Clinton’s unsuccessful bid this year for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Mr. Lausell said he feels Sen. Obama “doesn’t really regard the Hispanic community as important.” Sen. Clinton won a large majority of the Hispanic vote in most primaries, and Latino voters are an important bloc in swing states such as Florida, Nevada and New Mexico. Most polls show Sen. Obama leads Sen. McCain among Latinos.
Mr. Lausell said that as a “lifelong Democrat,” this is the first time he has supported a Republican presidential candidate. A Harvard Law School graduate, Mr. Lausell’s business career has included a stint as chief executive of the Puerto Rico Telephone Co. and chairman of PonceBank, a large Puerto Rican financial institution. Mr. Lausell once had a position with the Democratic National Committee and served on a national finance board for Al Gore’s unsuccessful 2000 presidential run. In 2004, he helped start a nonprofit aimed at boosting Latino turnout for Democrats.
——–
Mr. Lausell cited several objections he has with Sen. Obama. “The U.S. is in a very difficult situation these days and I don’t want someone without experience at the helm,” he said. Mr. Lausell said he likes Delaware Sen. Joe Biden, but felt that if Sen. Obama was going to reach inside of Washington for a vice presidential running mate, he should have chosen Sen. Clinton, “who received 18 million votes” during the presidential primaries.

Texas – Thanks for the link. Got it book marked. Again, the challenge is something being reported with enough credibility to warrant interest. But, hey, I’m determined to take this project as far as I can. We shall see how far that is.
I find it fascinating that the media has been concerned with issues of race and racism, and rightly so. Racism is wrong. Yet, no one seemed even a wee bit fazed by the fact that Obama attended a church with some powerful anti-Semitic strains running right down the center of it’s teachings. And, of course we all know that few appeared in the least bit concerned about how Clinton was treated as a woman. What’s up with that? (I feel a letter brewing….)

BO’s Inflated Campaign Contributions
He’s pulling out all the stops here to keep from looking like his ship is sinking. The FEC report for August has not posted yet, but an affilliated fund, The Obama Victory Fund, has. This is a joint BO/DNC fund.
The BO Victory Fund has been cleaned out. It opened at $23 million, recieved $23 million and transfered $43 million. How much went to the BO Campaign Fund to make him look good?…We’ll find out.

Anyone from Washtingon have a PUMA flyer?
Ran a cross this in my files. I put it up in response to some bots insulting Murphy back before Denver.
Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the courageous ride of Darragh Revere
One if by land two if by sea
On the side of Democray is where she shall be
No cowards would join this noble ride
Tyrants could flee but nowhere could hide
Truth is her armor as bright as could be
Blinding the corrupt forcing to flee
ON through the night Darragh continued her ride
Calling to PUMAS, quick to my side
A mighty roar was heard in the night
Along with Darragh ready to fight
An army of Pumas stood undeterred
Until the song of truth was finally heard
one if by land two if by sea
Standing with Darragh is where you’ll find me

THE VILLAGES — Thousands of people formed a line circling the pavilion at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square on Friday morning, each waiting to secure a ticket to attend a rally for GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Rich Cole, president of The Villages Republican Club, said that approximately 16,000 tickets were handed out Friday. Cole said that the Palin rally will rival any political event that The Villages has seen.
The following was posted by Lea Lane on huffpo. I Pass it on without comment since it speaks for itself…
Do Whatever You Must to Trick Former Hillary Supporters into Voting for Barack
Eat Crow? Hell Yes, to Win This Election
The Obama team is suddenly making a huge effort to gain women’s votes, but many die-hard Hillary supporters — dozens of my acquaintances — remain bruised and confused. The fact that Palin is on the ticket when HRC wasn’t even vetted may turn out to have been the major gaffe of Axelrod and Company, and the tipping point of this tight election.
If you’ve been an outspoken Obama supporter from the beginning, it’s time to make amends with Hillary supporters you know. Arguing with, or browbeating them to get on board is counterproductive, but showing you’ve come around to respecting Hillary may ease their hurt enough to do the trick. (Even if you don’t mean it. This is politics.)
Here’s what you can do:
Eat crow. To get started, memorize this phrase, take a deep breath and say: “Now that I see how unqualified Sarah Palin is, I realize how I misjudged Hillary Clinton. Even Biden said she would have made a great vice president.” Saying you wish she were the presidential nominee may go too far, and you may not be able to get it out. But if the Hillaryite brings it up, don’t argue, and see below
Let the HRC voter vent. You may have to draw on every bit of patience you have. You may have to hear once again how unfair it is that the Repubs chose Palin, and the Dems ignored Hillary, and that the party would assuredly be ahead if she were anywhere on the ticket. You may have to hear old-news complaints about sexism and Jack Cafferty’s curmudgeonly comments, David Shuster’s pimping Chelsea insult, the Monica mentions, the tougher debate questions for Hillary. Do not look like you want to run and soak your head in vodka, even if you do. Do not talk unless asked. Listening without argument is the major way to keep this potential voter attainable. Act empathic. Nod your head in agreement when the subject of Palin or Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann’s Hillary-bashing commentary is mentioned. Learn these phrases and use them every so often: “I imagine it must be hard.” “It must seem unfair.” “I know, you wanted to see an accomplished woman as president in your lifetime.” “I can understand your being hurt (sad, mad, furious, despondent, livid, resentful, apoplectic, intransigent, inconsolable, red-faced, nauseous, wretched, shit-faced”). Again, do not argue. Just listen.
Do not praise Obama.I know, this seems ridiculous, but now is not the time in this chain of events. Also, do not praise Michelle or their daughters. If the HRC supporter praises, agree and move on. This is not so much about Obama as it is the closure about Hillary’s run, which remains a wound to some. Take a breath, and move to the next step, which may be the hardest.
Praise HRC.Never mention her flaws. Be gracious and do not bring up her vote for the war, or her “dirty campaign.” Do not allude to Bill. Instead, try to find something you can praise with some conviction — some version of “By the end of the campaign I could understand why people were so enthusiastic about Senator Clinton (not “Hillary”). I saw her toughness, her brains, her heart.” “She is gracious and helpful in defeat.” And especially, “Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton.” You may have to go back to steps one and two. Nobody said this would be easy.
Know your anti-female McCain political facts. Here comes the logic. Make a cheat-sheet if necessary. If Palin can get past her ignorance about The Bush Doctrine and the Constitution in prime time, you can learn these few talking points. Remind HRC supporters that several Supreme Court nominees (and Roe v Wade) are in the balance. Discuss McCain/Palin’s ultra-conservative record, and stands on right- to- life, guns, creationism, you name it. You’ll need to do some homework here. Wikipedia and Google are there for you at all times.
Know your anti-female McCain emotional facts. If the above doesn’t do it, remain low-key, with a pleasant visage. Remind HRC supporters that McCain left his disfigured first wife who waited loyally for him and raised their children alone, to have an affair with Cindy, the current, rich, much younger wife. But aha, continuing this behavior, he probably cheated on this trophy with blonde lobbyist, Vicky Isenman. (Where is this woman? In a rendition prison in Syria till after the election? Hello, National Enquirer.) Remind the Hillary fan that McCain called his $300k-suited trophy wife the C- word in public, and has a notoriously terrible temper. And worst of all, and leave this for the climax of this entire exercise: McCain publicly laughed at the allusion to HRC as a “bitch” and — lowest of the low — made that public Chelsea Clinton ugly joke when she was just a teen.
Know your Palin political and emotional facts. Emphasize that Palin is against almost everything that Hillary stands for. List these things. Be sure to mention that she called Hillary “a whiner.” Then ask, “Do you really want this undeserving woman to break the glass ceiling before someone as deserving and qualified as Hillary Clinton?”
If you did your best but it didn’t work, leave the door open. Don’t lose it and attack the HRC supporter for being stupid, intransigent, short-sighted, emotional, unpatriotic, and thinking with her nether regions, even if those feelings are coursing inside you. Do not use the term “bitch,” even though McCain did.
Hillary supporters may not want to tell you that you’ve reached them. Assume it will take a few tries. And even if these voters don’t admit they’ve changed their minds, at a minimum, your attempt at taking one for the team may influence them enough to keep them from voting for McCain, or bad-mouthing Obama’s so-far wobbly candidacy.
If each die-hard Obama supporter could convince even one disgruntled HRC supporter that he or she respects Hillary Clinton, it just might help secure this election. Even if you still don’t like HRC, consider yourselves citizen-patriots, suck it up, and do your part to save our country. And fast, please.

thanks for a great show puma pac!
arent paulie and marilu great?
I think we should work together with them as much as we can. they are true-blue democrats.
Nationally, Obama leads McCain 47-45 percent according to a Zogby International poll out Wednesday, a seven-point reversal from an August Zogby poll that had McCain in the lead. The pollster credits Obama’s national rise in the poll to increasing support from women.***********************************************************WT Hell
This is not so much about Obama as it is the closure about Hillary’s run, which remains a wound to some.

#70 FL Girl, this is hilarious! I haven’t had BO supporters call me (they know better), but a friend (who is a senior citizen and is AA) said some of her younger relatives have started calling her again (they ignored her during the election because she was an HC supporter) and they’ve tried these lines: I would vote for BO because HC said we should and BO has inspired me so much so you should vote for him just for that reason. My friend said “no way, not gonna happen, NO BO.”

PETITION RE: BO’s potential violations of the Logan Act
“We demand that Congress open hearings on Senator Barack Obama’s potential violations of the Logan Act.
On at least two separate occasions, as documented by NBC and The New York Post, Senator Barack Obama has attempted to negotiate a delay to U.S. negotiations with Iraq until after the elections.
We feel this is an egregious abuse of his position and in violation of the Logan Act, which by historical judicial interpretation prevents anyone, including members of Congress, from interfering with U.S. negotiations”

to lighten the moment a bit, my wife went to the biden rally here is va yesterday and she handed her camera to biden to take a picture of them, it appeared in the washington post today on page A3. It shows a lighter side of a candidate who took time out to even do it. No matter if you like him or not it just makes me good he did it. Take a look at the people around them, it looks like they are having a good time and maybe for a moment with everything going wrong out there they felt good. Maybe we need more of this. Just a thought. Here is a link that has the picture.

This is from The Weekly Standard (post #49):
“And so, Hillary is missing in action from the Palin–hating brigade. She and McCain are said to be friends, and to work well together. In the primaries, she often compared Obama unfavorably to her friend in the Senate. Her comment that she and McCain had credentials in the national security area while Obama had a speech made four years ago has already appeared in McCain’s commercials, and it is hard to believe when she said it that she could not foresee this happening. It is also hard to believe that after she and Bill vote for McCain in the privacy of the voting booth up in Chappaqua, they will not be among the first to make phone calls to Sarah Palin, and then to John McCain.”
When I vote this Nov. I will picture HC/BC/ChC all voting McCain -Palin ticket.
On another note, everyone’s hard work is inspiring. I will print out flyers and will distribute wherever I go from now on. By the way, I have found that laundry rooms and such are good places to leave flyers. People have time to read them. Best, Lara08

On our local news tonight, it showed Hillary and a lady holding up a sign that said “write in Hillary for president” and she had the camera right on her. Wonder if she is a PUMA?
Speaking of flyers, today’s blog image totally should be re-worked for a flyer! I love the idea “this is your brain on hope”, but the average person won’t recognize the term “o-bot”.
BillieJo: I totally agree. Our flyers are nicer. First of all, we try to avoid having his picture on anything. People tend to look at pictures more than reading the words. Simple psychology. Second, our quotes are more powerful: bitter quote and first time proud of this country quote.
GOSUE4HIL – Check your e-mail, including your spam box (sad). Seems that’s where my e-mail to everyone working on the caucus prowl wound up.
I think there should be a flyer for every state in the action center. An 8 x 11.5 that we can download and make copies and hand out.

Halligan! It’s nice seeing your name! I haven’t been on the last few weeks, but have tried to “lurk” a bit. My husband is recovering nicely from surgery. Thank you for your kind words back then. It meant a lot. It looks like you’re still keeping busy!
Excerpts from a Wash.Post article which reveal:
1) – Which states the candidates are putting more $$$ & ADS in
2) – BO’s ADS have been more negative than McCain’s lately
—————————-
- Despite perceptions that Sen. John McCain has spent more time on the attack, Sen. Barack Obama aired more negative advertising last week than did the Arizona Republican, says a study just released.
- 77% of BO’s commercials were negative during the week after the Republican National Convention, compared with 56 percent of the spots run by McCain.
—————–
– Obama has ads in 17 states
– McCain in 15 states.
For all [BO’s] talk of an expanded electoral map, both campaigns are concentrating resources in traditional battlegrounds, with slightly more than half the total spent on advertising going to Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
“Shockingly, this race is going to come down to swing voters in the same swing states that decided the last two elections,” Goldstein said.
———–
– Obama spent more on ads in Florida, $1.3 million, but that was nearly matched by McCain’s $1 million.
– The most McCain spent was in traditionally Democratic Pennsylvania — $1.6 million to Obama’s $948.000.
– Obama was on the air in Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, North Dakota and Montana, all states won by President Bush in the last two elections.

#105 DancesWithPumas, okay, I’ll email them. What I had in mind was an 8 x 11.5 flyer which delineates the purpose of PUMA, something simple and concise. If they were in the action center, they could be downloaded by people, printed up, and handed out. That email address looks funny with the “something”. That’s the real email address?

A quote attributed to Sandra Cichon, a private citizen, is spreading across the internet as a living example of White Racism. Did a reporter put words in this woman’s mouth? she says so

Oprah not having Gov. Palin on her show is analogous to BO voting ‘Present’, IMHO!
If Gov. Palin doesn’t win, then she will feel justified; if she does win, she probably will over-do the welcome in the hope of winning back the viewers she turned off.

LILIBET – my project was looking up contact information for all the closely contested races – Wisconsin happens to be one – my computer is old and the browser at one point today would not let me enter into the site – nothing to do with the site – all to do with my old computer – rebooted – kicked it – screamed at it – and now its back slowly – but back.
Hopefully you will use the TV station information to send comments to sway the general public away from BO – glad to know that someone is in Wisconsin as most of these places need a local number to contact to make certain you wrote the article —

I am writing this to all Oprah’s advertisers. (I posted a list at #68)
Dear Advertiser,
I have been informed that your company advertises on Oprah’s TV show. Millions of women watch this show, and are influenced by this show.
It is clear to all women that Oprah has endorsed Barack Obama, and Oprah has had him on her show several times. Oprah has publicly asserted that she will not have Sarah Palin on the show before the election. The reason is obvious: if American women saw this compelling woman, and heard her inspiring life story, they might vote for her. Since Oprah is a supporter of Barack Obama, this would not work in her best interests.
I am asking you this question. Are you willing to advertise your product on a show that one-sidedly supports one political party and candidate over another? Are you willing to advertise on a show that denies American women an important equality, a show that ignores the historical character of this election, a show that dismisses the woman candidate, while highlighting and promoting the black candidate?
Do you want your product to be associated with the Democratic party, and disassociated with the Republican party? Do you want your product sold only to the Democrats who support Barack Obama? What about the rest of America?
Since I don’t support Barack Obama, I will stop watching Oprah’s TV show, and I will stop supporting and purchasing your products, unless Oprah gives the woman candidate the same opportunity she has given the black candidate. Many women are dissatisfied with this election, because of the sexism shown to women, first to Hillary Clinton, and now to Sarah Palin.
I do not believe your corporation wishes to participate in this biased and one-sided forum that promotes only one candidate in this important and historic election year. Many women, myself included, will not be watching Oprah, nor purchasing any of the products of her advertisers, if she does not right this wrong.
Sincerely,
(Name)
Thecandypoempuma.
PBS hates conservatives————-Let’s turn this around!!!
Friends,
PBS has a short video on Sarah Palin on their website. Also included is a poll that asks: Is Sarah Palin qualified to be VP?
I logged on a few minutes ago and 46 % percent had voted YES, 52% NO.
Let’s turn this around….. You don’t have to give your name or email address in order to vote. It’s very simple.
Here’s the link:
http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
The Campaign FEC reports are up. Looks like BO transfered $12 million from the Obama Victory fund to boost his numbers. There were alot of transfers to the DNC. BO probably got alot of donations at the convention and the convention was paid for out of the BO Victory Fund to the DNC, probably to the Convention Committee (they only file quarterly)
I’ll try to figure it all out tomorrow. Here is the link for the curious:
http://www.fec.gov/disclosure.shtml
The electronic reports posted.

Hispanic4Hillary – voted and now its changed to 51% yes qualified vs 46% no – not qualified – changed around all ready – good catch.
Alright all, I’m out for the night. This is the first draft of a Spanish-English flyer I’m working on. I need to check some of the facts though.

?Barack Obama Para Presidente?
!Claro que NO!
?Pórque?
?Cómo trató a la Sen. Hillary Clinton?
——————-
Barack Obama for President?
Of course NOT!
Why not?
How did he treat Sen. Hillary Clinton? How did he treat the Hispanic community? He ignored our vote. If you want to know how someone will act in the future, just consider his past behavior.
Sen. Barack Obama is an overly ambitious politician who only cares about advancing his own political career, oftentimes in corrupt ways. He “defeated” Hillary Clinton by attacking her personally and through caucus fraud. He also used underhanded means to “defeat” Rep. Alice Palmer in Illinois to become state representative.
The voters did not elect Barack Obama. Democratic Party leaders selected Barack Obama. Why didn’t they let voters choose the presidential nominee? What are they up to?
Obama is not the most qualified person to lead this country during a time of war and while we face major economic turmoil. What are Barack Obama’s economic plans? How does he plan to end the war in Iraq? He doesn’t have concrete ideas because he doesn’t have enough experience to be president. Before he decided to run for president in 2007 he had only served 143 days in the U.S. Senate. This is not someone who is ready to be president of the United States.
The Democratic Party has spent more than 300 million dollars trying to convince us to vote for Barack Obama. If he were qualified to be president they wouldn’t have to spend such an obscene amount of money. DON’T VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA IN NOVEMBER. He is not a real Democrat. He has already lied to us repeatedly (and he isn’t even president yet) and he ignored our votes. He is interested in BECOMING president, but not in our well-being or the future of our community or our country.

The new, human Obama
http://www.washtimes.com/news/2008/sep/21/obama-proves-all-too-human/
BO’s Financials for the month of August:
Campaign recieved $53.1 million in donations and $12.0 million in transfers. They Spent $55.9 million.
The DNC recieved $7.6 million in donations and $31.6 million in transfers. They Spent $11 million.
The transfers probably came from the BO Victory Fund that recieved $23 million and transfered out $43 million.
Hillary Clinton had receipts of $2.6 million, same as operating expenses. She Transfered $6.5 million somwhere and paid back contributions of $16.7 million. She still shows a debt of $22.1 million but I believe that includes the $13 million she committed to cover. So, the debt would effectively be around $9 million. The operating expenses are probably what has been keeping the debt from dropping more substancially.
The PBS poll has turned around, PUMAs keep voting…
I haven’t seen any other flyers that are anti-obama.
If we don’t want him to win, we have to educate the people about him, or Palin, or compare him to McCain.
How about one about the democrats killing the drilling for oil, by limiting where the oil can be drilled and not allowing the states to get royalties for drilling off their shores? Personally, I’m angry that the do nothing dems are still holding us hostage to high energy prices.
How about the democrats, not allowing regulatory reform, taking money from lobbyists, and ignoring their responsibilities as heads of the banking and finance committees? Dodd and Barney Frank were negligent in their duties. Pelosi looked like a scared deer in the headlights when she was trying to blame the republicans to this problem, like she was afraid we’d all catch on that she’s part of the problem!

Thank you. Up tomorrow.
What do you think is the most damaging thing to have on an anti-Obama flyer?
Obama said it would take 10 yrs to drill for oil? False.
Less than a 1 year if allowed to drill in the gulf where they know oil can be gotten quickly, 7-8 months if fast tracked. In Anwar, 4-5 years or 3-4 years if fast tracked.
Obama said he will cut taxes for 95% of the people. False. He is proposing a $500 stimulus energy tax credit that doesn’t actually reduce your tax “rate” and is not a tax cut.
Obama voted 94 times to raise taxes. He voted in 2008 to raise taxes on people making over $42,000.
Obama wants to bring back the Inheritance tax that was repealed because it had hurt family farms making it very difficult to pass them on to their children. Could this be a lobbyist influence to grab land for ethanol production?
Obama claims in an ad that McCain is surrounded by lobbyists. CNN actually checked and found two, but revealed that Obama has two “big oil” registered lobbyists working on his campaign.
Obama claims that McCain contributed to the financial markets meltdown by voting for deregulation when it was passed by the Clinton Administration. False. McCain actually warned this would happen when the democrats blocked his Federal Housing Regulatory Reform legislation 2 years ago. Since that time the Democrats have been in control of Congress, and both the finance and banking committees whose chairmen Dodd and Barney Frank both failed to take action to prevent this financial crisis. Democrats are trying to blame the Republicans, but one Maverick Republican has a record of trying to get some regulartory oversight passed to avoid this crisis. John McCain saw it coming.
Obama claims that while he wants to wait and see what happens, while McCain presents a plan to form an agency to prevent more bailouts from occuring. Obama wants to give people another $50 billion stimulus, while McCain wants to form a 9/11 type committee, to ensure that a lasting solution can be found and implemented fully to remedy the root cause of the crisis.

The Democratic Party Leadership should feel ashamed of themselves.
$300 million dollars has been spent introducing Barack Obama to the public over the course of 19 months, and still we aren’t sure of anything about him except that he supposedly represents “hope and change”.
$300 million spent on one person’s quest for the Presidency backed by a Party that purports to represent the less fortunate. And in these devastating economic times when the country is at its most precarious, no less.
Here is a WONDERFUL source debunking Palin rumours: http://www.palinrumors.com/

Obama’s Early-Voting Advantage 9/21/08
TNR
An excerpt…
Unfortunately, several states now let people vote weeks before Election Day.
As Amy Sullivan (my wife) notes in her recent piece on the subject, Virginia allowed some people to start voting last Friday, and half a dozen states kick off early voting next week.
So a non-trivial portion of the electorate could end up casting a vote before there’s a single presidential debate.
It’s ludicrous.
Having said that, I can see this preposterously early voting benefiting Obama.
For one thing, he gets to start locking in votes while the financial crisis is topic A and has voters fleeing the GOP.
Second, he gets to lock in votes before a possible October surprise–whether it’s a national security crisis ginned up by the White House or some below-the-belt ad from McCain (probably Wright or Ayers related).
Third, mechanical changes like this tend to favor the better-organized campaign, since they’re in a better position to exploit any new opportunities.
That’s almost certainly the Obama campaign in this case.
I’d guess Obama will do a better job identifying potential early voters and getting them to the polls,* which, given the extremely long early-voting window, could result in a significant advantage.
*More precisely, I’d guess Obama will have a bigger organizational advantage over McCain in early voting than he will on Election Day, though I’d expect him to have an advantage in both cases. ”
I had no idea voters could vote early like this.

“Ohio Newspaper Poll shows John McCain with slight lead over Barack Obama”

From Common Sense 12 or Truth Only 12 ….
Attention: All great Ohio fellow voters, there is a great NEW BOOK OUT: “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso. You must get this. Please go to amazon.com, and order today: “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso. This book is in hardcover for only $15.37 plus shipping, and is already at Number Five (5) on the New York Times bestseller list, hardcover, non-fiction. The book has 290 pages, and covers everything you have heard about, and much more, and all with excellent sources and references. In fact it is so good, the Obama Camp people are coming after it and the author with full force rhetoric. See article in http://www.spectator.org, “The American Spectator” written by Matthew Vadum, dated 9/18/2008, his article titled “Obama Camp Slimes David Freddoso”. This article is also linked and running on http://www.RealClearPolitics.com. For example, in a centerfold in the book — black and white glossy photos – you will see a picture of Obama’s house for which he paid $1.65 million, some $300,000 below the list price; and the book covers much of his close relationship with Antoin (Tony) Rezko, who was convicted in June 2008 on sixteen counts of fraud and money-laundering. It has been charged that Mr. Rezko was involved somehow with the purchase of that house and property. Continuing, across from page 163, under a glossy plate of Michelle Obama, we have the following in quotes: “Michelle Obama’s employer, University of Chicago Hospitals, raised her pay from $121,910 in 2004 to $316,962, two months after her husband became a U.S. Senator. Barack Obama would later request a $1 million federal earmark for her hospital”. Note: I guess Barack Obama is opposed to Earmarks in general unless of course they benefit himself or his family. This is an explosive book. Urge everyone get their copy, and pass the word. Thank you.

John McCain Has It Right — Our economy is in desperate need of going in a new direction. With a total national debt of some nine trillion dollars, all America understands we need to go in a new and different direction, and we need to start yesterday. John McCain understands that and agrees. I ask readers to start digging into the following source material. There is a lot to go through here; but it’s necessary. Work with me please. (1)”If You Like Michigan’s Economy, You’ll Love Obama’s”, Phil Gramm and Mike Solon, Wall Street Journal, 9/13/2008 (2)”Obama’s Agenda May Not Add Up”, Peter Nicholas, July 8, 2008, Los Angeles Times (3)”Shaky Economy Challenges Ambitious Obama Agenda”, Bob Davis and T.W. Farnam, Wall Street Journal, 8/26/2008 (4)”Obama’s Gloomy Big-Government Vision”, Lawrence Kudlow, Real Clear Politics.com, February 15, 2008 (5)”Obama and McCain Have Big Economic Differences”, Martin Crutsinger, AP, 9/8/2008 (6)”Obama’s Altitude Sickness”, Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post, September 12, 2008 For all the above reasons in this source material, and many others, I am voting for the Senator John McCain/Governor Sarah Palin ticket at the top, and then for all Democratic Party candidates for Congress. I feel our Congress in Washington has been doing the absolutely best job they could. The problem has been the incompetent buffoon at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and now with our economy teetering, Mr. Bush still doesn’t get it. It was his self serving policies and programs involving gross deceit all along the way that he forced down our throats that caused all this. And you will see from the above references, Mr. Obama doesn’t get it either. He would only make things worse. John McCain and Sarah Palin do get it, understand our country, know how to work across party lines, and I am convinced they are the best choice at the top of the ticket.

Obama wants to bring back the Inheritance tax that was repealed because it had hurt family farms making it very difficult to pass them on to their children. Could this be a lobbyist influence to grab land for ethanol production?
================
False. The inheritance tax had exceptions protecting family farms and family businesses (and the first million or so of assets of any kind iirc).
Obama will win if everyone does not make their vote clear. Empty boxes, write in votes will not send a message to Obama or the nation. They will only allow Obama to win.
The Obama camp has sent out people since before the August DNC , had people knock on doors and fill out ballots to be entered BEFORE Obama was even the official candidate. They are renewing their efforts in the last few weeks. I have seen them in my place of work, signing people up and encouraging absentee votes to make sure their votes were counted even months before the election. Those people who sent in there absentee ballots in August or today are on the clock as Obama supporters no matter what they might decide between now and Nov. 4.
They even placed the absentee ballots around the public library. This is only in my little corner of the world. And it is far removed from the streets of Chicago, Florida, Iowa, and New Mexico where I have read that the same tactics are being applied. To me, it means it is national.
Serious efforts to keep Obama from the Presidency have to include votes that make a difference.
Libby #215 above is so correct, and others here in PUMA who have said the same thing. We have to vote a responsible alternative on 11/4 to accomplish what we want, or all we’re doing is just talking to each other.
I submit the best vote is for McCain/Palin at the top, and then the Democratic Party candidate for Congress (House and Senate) wherever you live.
If folks here in PUMA will read what I have been saying, they will realize Congress (the Democratic leaders) have been doing the best they can, but they need more Democrats to really get things done.
For President, Obama would be too extreme, would not work across party lines, would be spending too too much money, does not understand my “kitchen table issues”, and would be wrong for this country. I consider him just another George Bush — all talk and “con” —super smooth in front of a microphone — just as he (George Bush) was a President if his fraternity at YALE, that he managed to graduate from.
John McCain and Sarah Palin would be right, and just who we need.
I submit all PUMAS should be working hard for that plan.
That’s what I’m working on.
Thank you.

good morning pumas
from I gather talking to someone that was director of elections is that already there are some states voting for the generals
maybe the republicas and the nonobimbo citizens should make a formal petitions that in the points areas of conflits to have the national guards making sure that voting goes on correctly, & all states that votes is going on already to have ballots screened with “magnifying glass”
► Senator Obama and the DNC are truly determined to make the Democratic party as undemocratic as possible

I want to add the following onto my post above of #216, and #215 of Libby, and a nice comment I received a few days ago on what I have been writing from a super enthusiastic PUMA member, SnowTiger. Hello Snow Tiger. I know you are getting out some material for the media. Good job!
I am absolutely delighted I found you all — this great PUMA group. It’s always more fun when you can feel you are part of an organization that has the same belief’s I have.
I was an avid Hillary Clinton supporter even before Iowa, and was writing intently for her ever since then — with great success I will add; but I along with Senator Clinton of course, and all her supporters were not in the end able to overcome — Florida and Michigan — where the voters who voted (one week early) didn’t have their votes counted (orchestrated by the Howard Dean Gang), couldn’t overcome the race card that Yes Mr. Obama first brought up in South Carolina, his people kept bringing it up all along the way, and to make sure we all heard it…. Mr. Obama brought it up himself — when he reminded the country he didn’t look like all the other Presidents on the dollar bills, and then the crowning blow — when we all had our suspicions confirmed when Mr. Obama confirmed he had such ego and contempt for Hillary Clinton he felt he could win on 11/4 without her.
No. I don’t think so.

Thank you.

I didn’t see SNL last night. Did anyone else? I saw a headlign in one of the net sites that they had a skit about Palin’s “family incest”. Is that true? If it is, am beyond appalled…. words cannot describe how outraged I am!

NC back in play? BOs camp game.
It seems BO is trying to put NC back in play. I had noticed over the weekend ads every 20-30mins for BO. None for MC here. Now the paper says BO has a shot here. BOs people stated they decided to back out of NC so that MC would follow (that did happen). Then the plan was to quickly jump back in, which they are doing. BO is on Charlotte today.
Sorry if this has been posted before. I just stumbled upon this and had to share. As if we need one more reason to NOT want BO to win the election.

BO when in the Illinois Senate repeatedly was against the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act.
I may be pro-choice but I think there are limits.
Leaving a baby that has been born alive because the abortion didn’t work to die is infanticide. Wow, I after watching the videos I don’t know if I should cry or be totally disgusted.
Libby and Common Sense (#215 & #216)- That is what I have been trying to say too. Good morning PUMAs!
Today is the beginning of Autumn! Another day for us anti-Obots to work our heart out and defeat the DA Messiah.
The most common question I get every time I go out and convince them to say NO to NObama is this; ” Do you have anything against blacks?” First time I was asked that question, I was taken aback, I didn’t see it coming; but quickly recovered. I gave them the words of MLK, a person must be judge by the content of their character not by the color of their skin.
There are many people out there who are not voting for NObama, they’re not vocal about it. They’re the silent majority who just watch and listen.
There’s one thing on their minds, country first.
azpuma – It is murder. No matter how they try to justify it. I worked for a department of pediatricians at a major university hospital in my city. In the perinatal ward they had a room that was for “comfort care” only–and the babies that were there were often those specific cases–babies who survived “therapeutic abortions.” Docs and nurses were not allowed to attempt any survival efforts. I remember one baby lived for a whole day. It broke everyone’s hearts.
Sadly, this has been done for years. Women who want abortions can find doctors who perform them. It’s always been that way. It can be hidden under all types of diagnoses.

omg. That is tragic. Sad, beyond belief.

azpuma, did you know Obama is slamming out against this? He DID vote for that absolutely vile and inhumane practice, but he has a new ad out that is going on the attack. Check out this page…. it has his ad on it as well as the ad he’s attacking (from the survivor of a botched abortion). And talk about lies? Obama’s ad is the lie! He also lies in there about how McCain is running a campaign to abolish abortion, even in cases of rape and incest! That is a LIE! Obama is so disgusting I could puke!

I just read this in the NY Times and I completely agree.
Instead of drilling in the Artic National Refuge for oil .. how about this? The next president says: “The Big Three automakers and the United Auto Workers union want a Washington bailout. The only way they will get a dime out of my administration is if the automakers and unions come up with a joint plan to retool their fleets to get an average of 40 miles per gallon by 2015 — instead of the 35 m.p.g. by 2020 that they’ve reluctantly accepted. I am not going to bail out Detroit with taxpayer money, but I will invest in Detroit’s transformation with taxpayer money, provided the management and unions agree to radical change.

I’m pro-choice but it has limitations, except in the case a mother’s life is in danger. My sister had Ectopic pregnancy, it was the hardest decision she had to make. Although she’s pro-life, she did not rush into abortion, her doctor told her and my brother-in law the baby must be terminated. She was on the brink of death, she finally had to agree to have her baby aborted when a priest and our parents convinced her, her pregnancy was not meant to be. She was 4 months pregnant when it was terminated.
I was out driving around yesterday and what did I see?

That will not solve the problem. Alaskans are environmentalist, they’re very protective of their own environment and knew how fragile it is compared to people in Lower 48. Alaska has very strict environmental laws. The people of Alaska like the Inupiats know more about the environment than any of us, and they’re supportive of drlling oil in ANWR. When oil pipeline was built in Prudhoe Bay, wildlife population increased.
Personally, I think this “born alive protection act” that BO voted against is totally separate from pro-life OR pro-choice. This is not either one, but the simple act of decency and humanity of not causing a living baby that is out of the womb to die a painful and lonely death due to neglect. Obama voted against this not once, but twice. The 2nd time was the same bill that even Pelosi and Reid (and almost all of the then congress no matter what party) had the heart to vote for. But BO voted against it! Protecting babies who are out of the womb and alive…. now he comes out with a sleazy ad accusing McCain of lying about that!!! I wish I could claw Obama’s eyes out right now I am so angry with him! …and this man wants to run our country, protect US, and take care of OUR healthcare????? He who doesn’t have the heart to help a little baby out of the womb to keep it from dying? Sorry…. this man is beyond disgusting and despicable. Animals are more humane than he is. I don’t want him to have anything to do with my protection or my healthcare!

I can’t even imagine….. how tragic!!!
Asian4Hillary – I absolutely understand those cases. I had an ectopic myself and almost died. Those are instances when nature has gone terribly wrong and intervention is needed.
What I witnessed where I worked were cases of a different nature (the babies were an inconvenience, etc.) In those situations, I hold a different opinion. Didn’t mean to make anyone sad or defensive–I was resonding to a post regarding BO’s position on abortion in later months.
And in his case, I wish he could take a tour of those private little rooms tucked away in the perinatal wards. I wish everyone could.

I swear NObama is pure evil. I don’t know what to say, to let the baby die, it is MORALLY wrong. Once the baby is out and alive, it must be protected, the right to live. I can’t get my head around it, NObama voted against it not once but at least twice. His vote for BAIPA gets to me, the MOST evil vote he had made as State Senator.

#248 Asian4Hillary – He is evil to me too. I tell my family, “Watch his eyes before he talks…see how they begin to become slits and he casts them down. It is the beginning of his falsehoods.” His only desire is to win glory for himself. And the methods he is using, or his supporters are using to “win” the vote say it all. He doesn’t care about a baby. He doesn’t care about the farmers in the plains. He doesn’t care about the single mom struggling to make it. This is all about him. He hangs with the wealthy and powerful, and that’s where he wants to remain.
He is morally wrong when it comes to this particular issue. And doesn’t our Constitution say, “The right to life…” So, if a baby is born alive, isn’t it protected?

Good idea. However, we should be promoting conservation AND using ALL our homegrown resources now. The time for debating energy independance is long over. The time for action is now. Our economic health as well as our national security depends on it.
We have technologies and environmental regulations in place to allow us to drill for oil and natural gas cleanly and safely. The questions we should demand that our lawmakers answer is why are we not driving cars that get 40-50 mpg NOW, and why are we not utilizing our own energy resources to the fullest NOW? Other countries, supposedly less technologically advanced then our own, have been energy independant or close to for years now and here we sit, still dependant – on the verge of economic and security meltdown because we’ve been doing nothing for years but talk, talk, talk and using this issue as a politicial wedge. What is wrong with this picture? It’s got to stop! Drill, drill, drill – I don’t care if it’s not in ANWR, but at least start drilling somewhere. This is rediculous to even still be debating this at this point in time in this the greatest nation in the world as far as the resources we possess, and technologies we have to extract and to utilize them in and environmentally sound manner. We must do that in conjunction with finding alternate energy sources, and we can do it all at the same time. But let’s stop just talking about it – Inaction cannot be tolerated any longer!
Are ALL of the polls rigged, or is Obama really ahead? The latest electoral college maps show him ahead too. I think I’m going to be sick to my stomach. It is way too close to the election for him to be running ahead. If he is behind by just a little bit you can bet your bottom dollar that he’s going to fight tooth and nail to win; and, based on how the MSM is in the tank for him, he WILL win then. He most lose and lose by a large enough margin that even HE would see fighting wouldn’t accomplish anything or else I’m afraid he’s going to win. I shudder to think of him in control of my healthcare; I am terrified to think of him in control of “the nuculear button”; and I can’t imagine what would happen to an already shakey (at best) economy if he starts taking over! God help America if he even loses by a small amount…. and God help us…. we’re going to need it! God PLEASE don’t let Obama win!!!

The most reliable pollster is Rasmussen. In a presidential election the state polls matter more because of the Electoral College. Amy Cook another pollster stated that 4 groups are going to be the decisive factor in this race. One of them will be the votes from women. She even stated that this race is too close to call.
With all of BO’s advantages from the MSM, money, and the DP, the race is tied because Americans do not trust him.
The reason you see McCain drop in electoral maps, Florida was moved to toss up status. There’s a reason for that why Floridians especially Senior Citizens panicked….SOCIAL SECURITY. NOBAMA LIED TO THEM!!

Obama’s Social Security Whopper
September 20, 2008
He tells Social Security recipients their money would now be in the stock market under McCain’s plan. False.
Summary
In Daytona Beach, Obama said that “if my opponent had his way, the millions of Floridians who rely on it would’ve had their Social Security tied up in the stock market this week.” He referred to “elderly women” at risk of poverty, and said families would be scrambling to support “grandmothers and grandfathers.”
That’s not true. The plan proposed by President Bush and supported by McCain in 2005 would not have allowed anyone born before 1950 to invest any part of their Social Security taxes in private accounts. All current retirees would be covered by the same benefits they are now.
Obama would have been correct to say that many workers under age 58 would have had some portion of their Social Security benefits affected by the current market turmoil – if they had chosen to participate. And market drops would be a worry for those who retire in future decades. But current retirees would not have been affected.
Analysis
In our “Scaring Seniors” article posted Sept. 19 we took apart a claim in an Obama-Biden ad that McCain somehow supported a 50 percent cut in Social Security benefits, which is simply false. Then, on Saturday Sept. 20, Sen. Barack Obama personally fed senior citizens another whopper, this one a highly distorted claim about the private Social Security accounts that McCain supports.
What Obama Said
In Daytona Beach, Florida, Obama said in prepared remarks released by the campaign:
Obama, Sept. 20: And I’ll protect Social Security, while John McCain wants to privatize it. Without Social Security half of elderly women would be living in poverty – half. But if my opponent had his way, the millions of Floridians who rely on it would’ve had their Social Security tied up in the stock market this week. Millions would’ve watched as the market tumbled and their nest egg disappeared before their eyes. Millions of families would’ve been scrambling to figure out how to give their mothers and fathers, their grandmothers and grandfathers, the secure retirement that every American deserves. So I know Senator McCain is talking about a “casino culture” on Wall Street – but the fact is, he’s the one who wants to gamble with your life savings.
That’s untrue. All current retirees would be covered by exactly the same Social Security benefits they are now under what the Obama campaign likes to call the “Bush-McCain privatization plan,” which Bush pushed for unsuccessfully in 2005.
Who Would Have Been Affected
As the White House spelled out at the time, on page 5 of the document titled “Strengthening Social Security for the 21st Century,” released in February 2005:
Bush Plan: Personal retirement accounts would be phased in. To ease the transition to a personal retirement account system, participation would be phased in according to the age of the worker. In the first year of implementation, workers currently between age 40 and 54 (born 1950 through 1965 inclusive) would have the option of establishing personal retirement accounts. In the second year, workers currently between age 26 and 54 (born 1950 through 1978 inclusive) would be given the option and by the end of the third year, all workers born in 1950 or later who want to participate in personal retirement accounts would be able to do so.
Nobody born before Jan. 1, 1950 could have participated, and anyone born on that date would be 58 years old now. The earliest possible age for receiving Social Security retirement benefits is 62, for early retirement at reduced benefits. Full retirement age is currently 66, and scheduled to go up to age 67 in coming years.
It is certainly true that the stock market carries risks, as recent events remind us. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down nearly 17 percent for this year, for example, and despite gains in other years it is still barely above where it was at the start of 2000. But historically there have also been rewards for those who make diversified investments and hold for long periods. When Obama spoke, the Dow Jones average still stood 305 percent higher than it had at the start of the 1990′s.
Disappearing nest eggs?
Also worth noting here:
The private accounts would have been voluntary. Anybody fearful of the stock market’s risk could simply stay in the current system.
Obama’s reference to “casino culture,” disappearing “nest eggs” and gambling with “your life savings” are also misleading exaggerations. Only a little over one-fourth of any workers’ total Social Security taxes could have been invested (a maximum of 4 percent of taxable wages, out of the total 15.3 per cent now paid, split equally between worker and employer.)
Speculation in individual stocks would not have been permitted. Workers would have had a choice of a few, broadly diversified stock or bond funds.
While McCain has voted in favor creating private Social Security accounts in the past, and endorsed Bush’s 2005 proposal (which never came to a vote in Congress), he is not making a strong push for them as part of his campaign. In fact, a search for the term “Social Security” on the McCain-Palin Web site brings up the following: “No documents were found.”
Footnote: When we contacted the Obama campaign for comment, spokesman Tommy Vietor defended Obama’s remarks as accurate:
Vietor: You don’t have to be retired to rely on Social Security. Millions of people who will one day retire rely on Social Security as they plan their future. Senator Obama’s bottom line is absolutely true. If McCain got his way and we had private accounts . . . people who are relying on that money for their retirement would be in a very difficult situation.
We would grant Vietor a point if Obama had made any mention of workers being fearful of their future retirement (although this would apply only to those who had chosen to participate in private accounts, and not to everybody.) But Obama did not say that. Instead, he referred to “elderly women” in danger of poverty. He spoke of families “scrambling to figure out how to give their mothers and fathers, their grandmothers and grandfathers” a secure retirement – not to families worrying about their own retirement. If Obama did not mean what he said to be a reference to current retirees, he could say so clearly and amend his words.

John McCain and Sarah Palin have it right. Our economy is in desperate need of going in a new direction. With a total national debt of some nine trillion dollars, all America understands we need to go in a new and different direction, and we need to start yesterday. John McCain understands that and agrees. I ask readers to start digging into the following source material. There is a lot to go through here; but it is necessary. Work with me please. (1)(If You Like The Michigan Economy, You will Love Obamas), Phil Gramm and Mike Solon, Wall Street Journal, 9/13/2008 (2)(Obamas Agenda May Not Add Up), Peter Nicholas, July 8, 2008, Los Angeles Times (3)(Shaky Economy Challenges Ambitious Obama Agenda), Bob Davis and T.W. Farnam, Wall Street Journal, 8/26/2008 (4)(Obamas Gloomy Big-Government Vision), Lawrence Kudlow, Real Clear Politics.com, February 15, 2008 (5)(Obama and McCain Have Big Economic Differences), Martin Crutsinger, AP, 9/8/2008 (6)(Obamas Altitude Sickness), Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post, September 12, 2008 For all the above reasons in this source material, and many others, I am voting for the Senator John McCain-Governor Sarah Palin ticket at the top, and then for all Democratic Party candidates for Congress. I feel our Congress in Washington has been doing the absolutely best job they could. The problem has been the incompetent buffoon at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and now with our economy teetering, Mr. Bush still does not get it. It was his self serving policies and programs involving gross deceit all along the way that he forced down our throats that caused all this. And you will see from the above references, Mr. Obama does not get it either. He would only make things worse. John McCain and Sarah Palin do get it, understand our country, know how to work across party lines, and I am convinced they are the best choice at the top of the ticket.

Running right now in the MIAMI HERALD…After the following article:
Obama steps up Florida presence with Dunedin event
Barack Obama’s camp just announced a rally in Dunedin at Knology Park 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The spot is no accident. Many of the swing voters likely to decide this election live in Tampa Bay. Looks like Obama plans to make a fight of Florida, which is leaning ever-so-slightly to John McCain.

The below from “TruthOnly” or Common Sense 12…
Maybe Mr. Obama would want to cover some of the charges in this fine book, that is already at Number Four(4)on the New York Times bestseller list, hardcover, non-fiction. The book is titled: (The Case Against Barack Obama) by David Freddoso. This book is in hardcover for only $15.37 plus shipping from amazon.com. The book has 290 pages, and covers everything you have heard about, and much more, and all with excellent sources and references. In fact it is so good, the Obama Camp people are coming after it and the author with full force rhetoric. See article in http://www.spectator.org, (The American Spectator) written by Matthew Vadum, dated 9/18/2008, his article titled (Obama Camp Slimes David Freddoso). This article is also linked and running on http://www.RealClearPolitics.com. For example, in centerfold (in the book) – black and white glossy photos – you will see a picture of the Obama house for which he paid $1.65 million, some $300,000 below the list price; and the book covers much of his close relationship with Antoin (Tony) Rezko, who was convicted in June 2008 on sixteen counts of fraud and money-laundering. It has been charged that Mr. Rezko was involved somehow with the purchase of that house and property. Continuing, across from page 163, under a glossy plate of Michelle Obama, we have the following in quotes: Quote: (Michelle Obamas employer, University of Chicago Hospitals, raised her pay from $121,910 in 2004 to $316,962, two months after her husband became a U.S. Senator. Barack Obama would later request a $1 million federal earmark for her hospital). End of Quote. Note: I guess Barack Obama is opposed to Earmarks in general unless of course they benefit himself or his family. This is an explosive book. Urge everyone get their copy, and pass the word.
