I think that you should update Gallop and Rasmussen
—————————–
What do you mean?
——–
I mean that your polling results
Obama 0%
McCain 100%
were much better than the other polls and you should teach Gallop and Rasmussen how to do their polls properly.

Back to prowl work
30,000 emails have gone out.
this is not up to our best work and needs attention.

Here’s today’s email from the ONE. I don’t know how to paste in the video but it is a very interesting one.

Want a look inside our strategy to win the battleground states?

I recorded a video on my laptop yesterday to brief you on the plan — including details that haven’t been shared publicly before.

Our fight in the battleground states is going to be tougher than a lot of you may think. Take Florida, where George Bush won by just 381,000 votes in 2004. The campaign we’re running there is going to cost more than $39 million.

That can only come from supporters like you — unlike John McCain, we don’t take money from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs.

To reach our goal, we need 50,000 new donors by Friday at midnight.

And if you make your first online donation today, your gift will go twice as far. A previous donor has promised to match every dollar you donate.

A matched donation of $5 becomes $10, a donation of $25 becomes $50, and a donation of $50 will become $100. Watch the video and double your impact today.

http://my.barackobama.com/page/m2/55c13741/500683a3/70a0c845/1188aafb/2893142547/VEsE/http://my.barackobama.com/page/m2/55c13741/500683a3/70a0c845/1188aafb/2893142547/VEsE/
This race has come down to a matter of weeks, and it could pivot on a few tremendously important swing states.

Supporters like you are strengthening this campaign in amazing ways — voter registration efforts, organizing in your communities, and bringing folks into the political process like never before.

Barack and Joe can’t win this without you.

Make a donation of $5 or more right now to provide the resources we’ll need to make victory a reality:

https://donate.barackobama.com/match

This campaign is committed to winning in every state we can. But it’s the support of folks like you that will decide this election.

Thanks for everything you’re doing,

David

I have just seen a post on the McCain site that said that the announcement that Hillary Clinton will make tomorrow is that she will no longer be campaigning for Obama. This person on the site, who spoke to a friend of hers at the
DNC said that Hillary was poed about being pulled from the Un event and was not consulted on it.
Now I have no clue if this is true or not. The person who wrote the post is a Republican. Than I know. Well…
that would be a fantasy come true if it were true. Does anyone know anyone to talk with about this? This would be hard for me to believe, but who knows?

Dear PUMA folks. I am reposting the below, because I assume no one here in PUMA saw this and decided to do anything about it today.

Please let Murphy know of this. I offered that PUMA folks could go to WashingtonPost.com for today, look up the below article by Michael D. Shear, and find my submission at 7:14AM 9/17, and if the reader liked the article… the reader could punch Recommend. The Obama people are doing it, racking up big numbers, and there is no one pushing for McCain. PUMA is missing an opportunity here, and it costs nothing.

I leave this to you all to figure out. Maybe Murphy would want to get involved here.

I leave this with you. It’s up to you folks.

I will keep writing.

Thank you.

CommonSense12… Someday we may meet.

From this morning…

Again, dear PUMA folks. I just posted the below on WashingtonPost.com, and it is running now. Posting as of 7:14AM. Again, if you agree I invite you to hit the Recommend button.

McCain Embraces Regulation After Many Years of Opposition

A decade ago, Sen. John McCain embraced legislation to broadly deregulate the banking and insurance industries, helping to sweep aside a thicket of rules established over decades in favor of a less restricted financial marketplace that proponents said would result in greater economic growth.

Below is my comment article from Common Sense….

CommonSense12 wrote:

TODAY IS A NEW DAY

This article generally mis-characterizes John McCain’s position on this critical matter of our economy.

John McCain is right on target, now. One only need go to the website of JohnMcCain.com, hit “Issues” at the top of the main site page, go to “Economic Plan”, and one can delve into specific discussions of his plans for job creation, bringing order to our Federal Budget, etc., and to do it now!

Our economy is in desperate need of going in a new direction. With a total national debt of some nine trillion dollars, all America understands we need to go in a new and different direction, and we need to start yesterday. John McCain understands that and agrees.

The article here by Michael Shear generally discusses views that have been rightfully attributed to the position of the Republican Party of the past, so I commend him and the Washington Post for bringing this forward so we all can correct this incorrect view, and do it immediately. Mr. McCain has already started to do so, and I know he will ramp it up, telling us more about his plans on this, and to do so with intensity.

To start, I ask readers to start digging into the following source material. There is a lot to go through here; but it’s necessary. Work with me please.

(1)“If You Like Michigan’s Economy, You’ll Love Obama’s”, Phil Gramm and Mike Solon, Wall Street Journal, 9/13/2008

(2)“Obama’s Agenda May Not Add Up”, Peter Nicholas, July 8, 2008, Los Angeles Times

(3)“Shaky Economy Challenges Ambitious Obama Agenda”, Bob Davis and T.W. Farnam, Wall Street Journal, 8/26/2008

(4)“Obama’s Gloomy Big-Government Vision”, Lawrence Kudlow, Real Clear Politics.com, February 15, 2008

(5)“Obama and McCain Have Big Economic Differences”, Martin Crutsinger, AP, 9/8/2008

(6)“Obama’s Altitude Sickness”, Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post, September 12, 2008

I realize I am suggesting a lot of reading. I did it this past weekend.

For all the above reasons in this source material, and many others, I am voting for the Senator John McCain/Governor Sarah Palin ticket at the top, and then for all Democratic Party candidates for Congress.

I feel our Congress in Washington has been doing the absolutely best they could.

The problem has been the incompetent buffoon at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and now with our economy teetering, Mr. Bush still doesn’t get it. It was his self serving policies and programs involving gross deceit all along the way that he forced down our throats that caused all this.

And you will see from above, Mr. Obama doesn’t get it either. He would only make things worse.

John McCain and Sarah Palin do get it, understand our country, know how to work across party lines, and I am convinced they are the best choice at the top of the ticket.

I urge all Americans to agree.

#27 mpdamon on 09.17.08 at 8:17 pm

Finished Prowl and e-mailed a bunch of sexist newspaper writers who needed a “correction”.
A technique I’ve developed is to use the familiar form of their name; therefore Charles Gibson becomes Charlie, Stephanopoulis becomes Georgie. Since they like to trivialize women . . . turn about is fair play.

I listened to a talk show yesterday where a woman said she liked Palin and would “buy Avon products from her”. I e-mailed the host and said that I sort-of liked Obama and would trust him to park my car. You really have to use a slefge hammer to get through to these people. I just can’t believe that this sexism is still going on . . . and that women participate in it. Why don’t they “get it”?

Nobama & other dems are desperate!!

First: I received an automated survey from Dems yesterday about who I would vote for Obama or mcCain, I said McCain and then they asked Dem. Patrick Murphy or Rep. Tom Manion. Just to piss them off I said Tom Manion.

Then today: A college student comes to me, as I am watering the lawn, and she presents herself as “Carolyn a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER”. Wanted me to sign a petition for clean water…(blah…blah…same petition every year) BUT here’s the kicker:

“I also have a quick survey!”
Who are voting for Obama/McCain?
Who are you voting for congress?
Wo are you voting for repesentative?
….I went republican all the way (hi, hi, hi)

I assure you I am no bot at all; I have no problem explaining my points of view, and the politics of McCain. I have no issues about talking about his voting record, the more of the same approch in his plans as president, how he does not care about the soldiers like he says he did (remeber he reject the GI Bill did you forget). We can go on for days; and all you can say about Obama is he is inexpirienced..hmm show me in the constitution of the United States where is says one must have expirience to be President….I’ll wait.

While you are doing that show me where in Barack’s speech did he refer to Palin. The only thing Barack did was use the SAME word as her “lipstick” am I to assume conservatives are racist because they use the word “change”? See how dumb that sounds? As far as being an activist. I have done more for this country and my fellow man than you can imagine. I do not need to sit in front of my webcam to validate that…but I guess you would go that low when you have nothing smart to say…

#27 mpdamon …Unfortunately some women (and men) don’t “get it”. I have spoken to 3 different women this week who started their conversations with “did you hear about Sarah Palin…she went to 6 different colleges and got a degree in Journalism”. I asked that woman how many colleges did she go to? She said none…but….Another women said “Palin scares me she goes to one of those evangelical churches”. I asked her what church she goes to …then asked her what the problem was. The pettiness with some women is a disgrace to their own gender. I just tend to challenge them. They stop and think and realize how insignificant what they are saying really is.

Heaven help us if Obama gets in.

#47 Anna7000 on 09.17.08 at 8:36 pm

Hey Snowtiger – Send this back to that BOT:

After winning his U.S. Senate seat, Obama stated that he would not run for President, citing lack of experience and the need to begin running the moment he had just become a Senator. He has precisely 143 days of work experience as a U.S. Senator under his belt and now presumes to be prepared to be President of the United States and Commander in Chief. Since when do we elect neophytes for President?

Obama has never remained in any single job or position for any length of time to actually make a contribution. Where do his convictions lie: With those he is slated to serve, or with his own personal ambitions?

Obama has no history of being a so-called “uniter”. His voting record reveals a pattern of digging in or not voting. He does not find common ground in order to gain consensus, unify, and get legislation passed. With no track record of doing so, how does he plan to unite this great country and a highly polarized Washington?

Obama has not sponsored a single piece of legislation during his term as a U.S. Senator. Why should this man be President if he hasn’t even made a mark as a U.S. Senator?

Obama has changed his position on numerous serious issues, including abortion, gun control, Iraq troop withdrawal, campaign financing, taxes, and FISA while also embracing Bush’s faith based initiatives. Why should anyone trust what he says if he changes his mind so often on substantive issues?

Obama was the only Senator to vote “yes” on a bill that would allow babies born alive due to failed abortions to be left to die. And he did so three times (state and federal votes combined). Even passionately pro-choice Senators voted “no” on this bill. Why would anyone in their right mind condone such barbaric behavior as infanticide?

Obama’s word cannot be trusted. In addition to his flip-flopping on issues, he has a proven propensity to go back on his word or blatantly lie. In 1996 he went back on his word to Alice Palmer. In 2004, he went back on his word to the American people that he would not run for President, by immediately running for President. If someone proves their willingness to go back on their word, how can you trust them regarding anything they say, particularly when there is so little evidence of achievement to go on and all we have is their word?

Obama also has a history of affiliating himself with questionable characters, including convicted felons and terrorists. Once exposed, he either claims innocence or minimizes these relationships. He publicly stated he was unaware of Wright’s hateful rants, despite having embraced Wright as a father figure while sitting in the pews of his church for 20 years. While trying to prove to the American public that he was Christian (a point which is neither here nor there), Obama stated his weekly devotion to attend Sunday church services. Once Wright became a controversial issue, Obama started to back peddle regarding how often he went to church services. So which is it? Every week or rarely? And what of someone who takes on as a father figure a man who honors Farrakhan with a Lifetime Achievement Award? Surely there are countless great men and women in the black community worthy of such an honor. Is not the selection of Farrakhan a telling and important piece of information?

When asked about his relationship with Rashid Khalidi, Obama brushed it off as one simply based on the coincidence of them both teaching at Columbia and having children who attend the same school, when in truth, he and Khalidi have scratched each others backs in mutually beneficial ways over the years. How can you trust someone who consciously minimizes a relationship with a former terrorist who was affiliated with the PLO and what do you make of someone having such associations?

Obama claimed innocence about Tony Rezko while receiving large sums of money to support his campaigns and became entangled with him personally over his home and land purchase. Why should you put stock in Obama’s claims to care about Americans when he ignored so many impoverished families living in sub-standard housing in his Illinois congressional district and, to add insult to injury, was in the pocket of the slumlord of those building?

Obama has a history of developing relationships with individuals who express through their words and actions profoundly anti-American sentiments, including Bill Ayers, a terrorist who built bombs that killed fellow Americans and who, to this day, remains unrepentant. Why should anyone have a shot at becoming the President who has affiliated himself with the likes of Bill Ayers?

Obama routinely expresses a confused understanding of history, including his own personal history, noting that he is the product of the march on Selma, despite the fact that he was born four years prior to the march. Why would you accept a candidate who is so willing to distort facts and manipulate public perception in this way?

Obama appears to feel he is above the fray and undeserving of scrutiny, despite applying for the job of the highest office in the country. He routinely scolds the press when they asked him a question or scolds his opponent if he feels at all attacked. How in the world will this man handle the very real and dangerous threats that exist in the world if he appears to lack the fortitude to withstand media scrutiny and attacks made by his opponent during the campaign?

Obama claims a desire to reach as many people as possible, yet declines invitations from the McCain campaign for additional debates. Since the best way to reach the most people is on national television, why support a candidate who prefers to minimize such exposure? In addition, given his claims about energy use and energy policy, why support a candidate who prefers to jet around the country consuming enormous amounts of fuel, when he could sign up for more debates, use less fuel, and reach more people?

Obama speaks of equal pay for equal work, yet pays his female staffers 83 cents on the dollar as compared to male staffers. In addition, among his top 5 most highly paid aids, only 1 is a woman. Among his top 20, only 13 are women. Why support a candidate who talks the talk, but appears not to walk the walk?

There is mounting evidence of voter fraud and intimidation in all caucus states during the primaries that benefited Obama’s campaign. For more information visit http://clintondems.com/ to see video taped testimony and http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/ for written documentation. Is it acceptable to elect to the office of President of the United States a man who quite likely stole the election within his own, co-opting party?

Obama is willing to sit down with leaders of enemy nations. In these dangerous times, can we afford to have an inexperienced President with no international experience and with a stated willingness to sit down with our enemies without precondition? Do you grasp the implications of what could happen with just one misstep, one misjudgment, one naïve, boneheaded choice?

#48 snowtiger on 09.17.08 at 8:37 pm

Gov. Palin’s 2007 initiative with six Western states and two Canadian provinces to reduce GHG (greenhouse gas emissions) through a collaborative effort was one of her many efforts in Alaska. She has a really good track record.
Got that from a posting. Didn’t check it out yet.

“Gadzooks!” I haven’t heard that expression in YEARS! My parents used to say it. Don’t know if it’s a New York thing (where I grew up) or what, but, geez, just seeing that word/expression brought back many a memory! I long since replaced “gadzooks” with other words the likes of which cannot be posted here!

#92 1gypsy4mc on 09.17.08 at 9:06 pm

87 snowtiger It’s not really a project. It is something I was considering, but bobram went ahead with it. I do think that we should hit up on all of our government reps and tell them of our concerns in regard to voter fraud – maybe even ask “them” what we can do to prevent it? Put the shoe on the other foot maybe?

It is amazing that BHO may lose New FREAKIN Jersey. And now McCain is coming within striking distance of New YORK? When you see California’s numbers change, get ready for a blowout. And not just a blowout. When dark blue states begin turning light blue, that is no ordinary blowout. That is a blowout of Ronald Reagan proportions.

McCain is within striking distance of almost all of the states that Obama wanted to win. He needed to keep all of the states that Kerry won plus flip red states blue in order to win. Now it looks that not only can Obama not flip his targeted red states blue, but he can’t even keep all of the states that Kerry won. McCain is close in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Michigan. McCain only has to win one or two of those to be President. Obama has to win all of them. We see that he won’t. Barring some implosion of the McCain campaign, it looks like we’re going to see a blowout. Hillary Clinton predicted in the primaries that if Obama was the nominee that the Republicans would blow him out of the water like they did Michael Dukaksis in 1988. People called her racist. It turns out that she may have been prophetic.

Subj: The five Surgeons

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who the best patients to
operate on are.

The first surgeon, from New York says, I like to see accountants on my
operating table, because when you open then up, everything inside is
numbered.

The second, from Chicago , responds, Yeah, but you should try
electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.

The third surgeon, from Dallas , says, No I really, think librarians are
the best, everything inside them are in alphabetical order.

The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: You know I like
construction workers, those guys always understand when you have

a few parts left over.

But the fifth surgeon, from Washington , DC shut them all up when he
observed:

You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There’s no
guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, the head and the
asses are interchangeable, and you get the same material discharged from
either end.

#133 pumasupporter on 09.17.08 at 9:46 pm

Hey everyone,

I just noticed something. At Real Clear Politics, Obama only has 6 “Safe” Democrat states in the polls right now. If, and its a BIG if, McCain can keep all of his safe Republican, leans Republican, toss ups and turn those weak leans Obama states into Republican states, McCain is President. No matter how big the states are, there’s no way that Obama can win with only 6 states. If polls stay like that, he’s guaranteed to lose. Those 6 states also currently include New York. If we can choose New York red for the first time in decades, Obama is done for.

NOTES from part of HANNITY’s radio program today:

Hannity spoke of the gov’t-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and how their out-of-control greedy practices helped bring about last Monday’s Stock Market “crash.”

Obama has strong ties to Fannie & Freddie and their corruption.

Some of BO’s economic advisors and associates are/were top dogs in Fannie Mae and they’re part of BO’s campaign.

Between 1989 and 2008, of the 300+ lawmakers who received money from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, BO is the second largest recipient… and he was only there for 3 of those years.

Now he claims he had some role in oversight to these industries (lie)… and he’s blaming the Republicans and McCain for the crisis.

McCain introduced the federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act in 2005 that, if it had passed, could have helped avert the current Fanny/Freddie crisis. McCain (in his speech when he pushed for the Act) was prophetic in foreseeing what may happen without regulation and warning of the risk in not reforming the F/F enterprises.
BO opposed the Act.

#99 Anna7000 We are doing our own prowls and not really asking anyone else to get involved. You can read the posts, etc. But here is more info on different subject:

My husband came home really angry today. He heard on Rush that Biden, Kerry, and Schumer made some kind of deal with Iraq concerning oil contracts. The oil contracts went to China instead of the U.S. It’s all over the net and can be documented. It just makes me ill!

It also validates that B. Hussein DID make some kind of deal overseas. These people are not for the U.S. Evidently, K, B, and S have agreed to pay Iraq $2 billion in 2009 (after Hussein is elected.)

#149 Genevieve on 09.17.08 at 10:10 pm

149, just wait until the debates. McCain has a phenomenal Economic plan. I know because I went to his site and read it for myself. He doesn’t get a fair chance to explain it. During the debates, BHO will have nowhere to run or hide. McCain’s economy comment is true when you look at it from his point. In his view, the fundamental of the American Economy is the American worker, so he’s really saying that the American Worker is strong. But the media and BHO won’t tell you that. And people have always said, including Democrats, that the foundation of the economy was the American worker, so why is it different now? The party has lost touch with its voters. It sees itself as the calvary coming to save all of the “little people” like us. We’re too poor or stupid to help ourselves so they have to help us, where McCain, on the other hand, wants us all to be rich. Which economic plan do you want?

my neighbors are latinos and they are voting party line,but the more i talk to them the more they seem to be open to switching their votes.. they are not so thrilled about obama and would have preferred hillary by a mile..
if mccain reached out more to latinos and asians too..he could win substantial latino and asian votes

#27 mpdamon : One reason media women participate in sexism is because that is how they got ahead in the first place. Women who do not go along with the sexist culture are not allowed to be in media. These are not selfless big thinking women they are self promoting. The corporate sexism actually serves their purpose because it means the majority of women will avoid employment by media companies giving these women less competition for their token jobs.

But I can’t think of any female media people who have the power to influence real women. I can’t say I admire any of them. I don’t watch their shows. I don’t read the MSMs “women’s content” magazines. I don’t watch the MSM “women’s content” channels or shows. Wait! I do like Gretta on FOX.

osaka – i agree. mc cain is just incredibly weak on the economy, both in terms of his recent comment and overall plan to get the economy back on track. i do believe this could be his undoing.

landipuma – i do not believe ca would go red. it is a solid blue state. i think it’s a waste to focus any energy on ca. it’s all about those on the fence that are swinging back and forth in my opinion. ca isn’t even a maybe. i think it’s in the bag for the dems as it traditionally has been.

Nancy Pelosi and Hairy Reid want to establish a new government agency specifically for the purpose of bailing out financial institutions and investment firms that may be in trouble. That is…with taxpayer money. And THIS is the best of the Democratic Party? Them and Hussein Odumba?

Maybe next we can cosign our own home and auto loans under the Communist Finance Corporation.
Somehow I don’t think it would quite work that way.

#174 NObamaDem on 09.17.08 at 10:21 pm

Oh my. I’m not sure this guy know’s what he’s talking about. In part he seems to think that the Puma movement is somehow dead and gone, and that we’ve all gotten over it and moved on. It’s very clear he’s got no clue who we are or what we are all about. Ah yes, we’re just a bunch of angry feminists who backed Clinton simply because she is a woman. And note how he ends it with the comment from a BO follower, that if BO loses it will be all Hillary’s fault. Pffft.

Anyway, here’s an excerpt:
‘ The Obama rank-and-file (many of them political novices) are justifiably wary of the threat Palin poses to their candidate. But they are being well-directed by the campaign, putting their energy into productive ventures like voter registration, organisation and encouraging the small-donor fundraising that has become Obama’s bread-and-butter. They haven’t missed the Republicans around town, behaving as if there were a chance at winning for the first time this campaign. They’re worried, but not paralysed. But as one of the volunteers confides to me: “If we take this all the way to election day and we lose, well, Hillary can kiss the presidency goodbye. There won’t be enough hope left in the country for her to hope to be elected.” ‘

Pumas may wanna comment on this one.

Ms. Palin’s best line from tonight’s townhall meeting in Michigan. It’s regarding foreign affairs experience:

“If you want specifics and specific policy or countries, go ahead, you can ask me. You can even play stump-the-candidate if you want,” Palin challenged her questioner.

Not only confident, that gal, but damn clever!

Well about Cali going, I don’t think its possible in this election, but I gotta tell you, latinos aren’t enthusiastic about the election, so eventhough the polls reflect a push for Obama you have to wonder, how many are lying and how many aren’t going to show up.

I am a latina, and Hillary was our guy, after she dropped out there just wasn’t any enthusiasm, and I know many that are voting for McCain.

Another thing, you have to wonder, how many know what they are being asked, latinos aren’t known for their English skills, so I have to think that in many places they are polling the younger generation.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with Hillary’s announcement tomorrow but as I posted below, one of Hillary biggest supporters announced she was supporting McCain/Palin.

Lady Lynn Forester De Rothschild, who has more money than Oprah, told Wolfe today that this was a personal decision. He tried, as he does, to make something more out of it. She said, “Country before party.”

I think there are some good Democrats that has just found out what a jerk they are supporting..

I could have told them at least 12 months ago..

I could have hugged her..

Excerpt Of The Day: Limbaugh On Obama’s Inexperience

Cheri Jacobus, who is a brilliant woman, a Republican strategerist, she lives in Washington, she’s worked on Capitol Hill, posted a little blurb: “Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much. …how many days experience, from the time he’s inaugurated in the Senate, sworn in, until he announced his presidential exploratory committee, how many actual days of work experience in the Senate for Barack Obama?…Educated guess 150. It’s 143.

…”After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days — I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that. In contrast, John McCain’s 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever.” So there you go, 143 days. So this is the key. All of these so-called flip-flops, all these changes in position, they are due to his inexperience. His inexperience and his incompetence lead him to make goofs, to lie, to flounder around.” — Rush Limbaugh

You and I have one thing in common politically – We have been hoodwinked with a general feeling that Dems = pardon and good immigration laws and Repubs means the opposite. How many people you see actually being a repub for other sensible reasons beyond our origins, language etc. This is the reason that most of us that came to this country (or our previous generations) and perhaps stayed in the coast areas feeling good about jobs, wages, social causes etc
Now we are begininning to realize that while we thought DEMS were with us they actually sold Iraq to China. This is the beginning of the end of their taking us for granted.

**************************************

loca,

I think that is what Obama is counting on – discouraging latinos from voting. I saw this piece from the ABC site today about a Spainsh language ad Obama is running painting McCain as a racist. Taking comments made by Rush Limbaugh (out of context, no less) and painting McCain with the same brush.

I guess they thought since it was in Spanish, no one in the major media would pick up on it.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/from-the-fact-1.html

If Obama wants to start the war of taking quotes made by his associates out of context, or even IN context, and attributing them to Obama, I don’t think that is a battle he is going to win.

My question is where in the heck is Juan Hernandez? McCain has taken a ton of heat from conservatives in keeping the guy on board, and I would have thought there would have been some reason for that.

Grizzly, that might be what he is counting on, but trust me, insighting racial crap doesn’t work on latinos that well, they get it, they don’t like it, and then they vote against you. So if he wants to discourage us, he better back off his racism, cause that just pissess us off.

I hope McCain hits hard tomorrow, he needs to get on top of some of this economic stuff, now.

#209 EWard on 09.17.08 at 10:54 pm

Economy

This is the strangest election year. With the economic anxiety and bailouts, the President and the party in power normally would get the blame. However, both parties are responsible.

The other wild card is many voters such as Lady Rothschild do not trust Obama. I hear that phrase from so many people. The timing of Obama’s Hollywood fundraiser shows he’s out of touch with main street voters.

BO is talking about America’s economic woes while attending this $9 million event with Hollywood snobs.

#219 snowtiger on 09.17.08 at 11:05 pm

Being in Norcal, I know a lot of Mexican Americans and I don’t know any who think Ob is a good choice. Almost all were Hillary supporters.
In fact, they really seem to hate oB and his attempt at using racist ads will backfire. Most Mexican Americans I know are closely associated with white people. I recall a friend of mine saying I was her cousin to another mexican fellow. He said” Yeah, every family has at least one.” Cracked me up.
The Mexican Americans who ARE racists have a hatred of blacks that makes anything you ever saw seem pale by comparison.
Before this election started some Latino Gangbangers were indicted for killing black people in their “hoods’. Why? Because they were black. Period. I think they killed six people including a little girl. It was largely ignored by the media. Happened in the LOs Angeles area.
I still believe California will become a battleground state and we will see some movement in the next week.

I hope McCain hits the economy there.. with some “meat”. I may not… no, probably won’t.. understand it if he does, but I hope he does. Palin is supposed to be there too. I haven’t heard if it’s just a rally or a town hall event. My camera doesn’t have a great zoom, so I hope I’m not too far away. I can actually videotape some of it with that little camera. ___________________________________________________________________

Friends,

With only seven weeks before the ballots are cast, the race for the White House has entered its home stretch. Both Senator Obama and Senator McCain have made the most important decision of the election season by selecting their vice-presidential running mates.

In selecting Senator Joe Biden, Barack Obama has chosen to partner with a 35-year friend and ally of Israel, a champion of women and working families who will help bring the change we need in Washington. Both of Democratic nominees have longstanding relationships with the American Jewish community and warm ties with the Jewish communities in their home states of Illinois and Delaware. Barack Obama and Joe Biden share a commitment to Israel’s security and restoring America’s role as a global leader, stronger and better positioned to confront the common danger posed by Iran.

The choice of a running mate demonstrates a lot about one’s judgment. When Senator McCain announced that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin would be joining him on the Republican ticket, many in our community were left scratching our heads. For Senator McCain to elevate someone with zero foreign policy experience and no record on Israel to the Vice Presidency is disconcerting at best to those of us who care deeply about the strong U.S.-Israel relationship and America’s standing in the world.

While we in the Jewish community need to speak out against false attacks on any candidate, we should also ensure that policies of the candidates, such as those of Sarah Palin that are completely at odds with the values of the Jewish community, are brought to light and known by informed voters. Several facts about Palin’s policies should be brought to the attention of others in our community who are concerned about important issues at stake, such as reproductive freedom, the close ties between the United States and Israel, the separation of church and state, and climate change.

Attached and below is our new fact sheet on Sarah Palin’s positions on issues important to our community. We hope you will share this will your friends and family who are concerned with the direction the Bush Administration has taken this country and want to see our values – values Barack Obama and Joe Biden exemplify – back in the White House.

Thank you,

Eric Lynn

Sarah Palin on Issues Important to the Jewish Community
Palin Has a Paper-Thin Record on Israel:
• Governor Palin has never visited Israel and has no history of fighting for issues critical to Israelis, Jewish Americans,
and the pro-Israel community. She has zero foreign policy experience and has never made any public statements on
her views about Israel or the threats posed by Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas. “She’s totally out of step with the American
Jewish community…” [Politico, 9/2/08]
Palin Opposes Reproductive Choice, Even in Extreme Circumstances:
• According to the Anchorage Daily News, Governor Palin opposes reproductive choice even in the extreme cases
of rape and incest. When asked if she would force her teenage daughter, had she been raped, to bear her rapist’s child,
Palin replied: “I would choose life.” [Anchorage Daily News, 11/8/06]
• When term limits forced Palin from office as Mayor of Wasilla in 2002, her mother-in-law, Faye Palin, ran to succeed
her. Palin endorsed her mother-in-law’s opponent due to Faye’s support for reproductive rights. Faye lost the race.
[TIME, 9/2/08]
Palin Curtails Freedom of Speech:
• After her election as Wasilla mayor, Palin initiated discussions about banning books from the public library that
she deemed controversial. One City Council member said: “They were somehow morally or socially objectionable to her.”
When the city librarian refused to participate in this effort, she was fired. Though Palin backed down, and the librarian was
rehired, she eventually quit the job and moved away from Wasilla. [The New York Times, 9/2/08]
Palin Would Promote Teaching Creationism in Public Schools:
• When Governor Palin was asked if Creationism should be taught alongside the science of evolution in public schools,
she replied: “Teach both.” [Anchorage Daily News, 10/27/2006]
Palin Opposes Potentially Lifesaving Stem Cell Research:
• Governor Palin opposes potentially lifesaving stem cell research, which could herald breakthroughs to the
treatment of cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, Tay-Sachs, and other serious illnesses. When asked if she could back federal
or state funding for this research, Palin answered “No.” [2006 Alaska Gubernatorial Debate, 11/2/06]
Palin Favors Abstinence-Only Sex Education:
• A 2006 questionnaire asked Governor Palin if she supports funding for abstinence-only education, and not for
comprehensive sex-education and the distribution of contraceptives. She said: “Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not
find my support.” [MSNBC, 9/1/08]
Palin Believes Climate Change is Not Caused by Human Activity:
• When asked in an interview how climate change is affecting our country, Palin replied: “A changing environment will
affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I’m not one, though, who would attribute it to being
man-made.” [San Diego Union-Tribune, 9/10/08]
Palin Mixes Religion and Politics:
• When she ran for mayor in Wasilla, Alaska, in 1996, Palin ran on a platform that attacked the incumbent mayor,
John Stein, on abortion, gun-rights, and religion. Her campaign claimed she would be the town’s “first Christian
mayor.” Stein, who lost the race, reflected: “I thought: ‘…what’s happening here? Does that mean she thinks I’m Jewish or
Islamic?’” [The New York Times, 9/2/08]
Judgment matters.
When Barack Obama selected Joe Biden to be his running mate, he chose a leader with a
solid record of over 35 years as a supporter of Israel and friend to the Jewish community.

#226 Anna7000 on 09.17.08 at 11:09 pm

The posts about “latino”, “hispanic”, etc. reminded me of a great piece I heard on NPR a few months ago. I caught it in the middle, so not sure who the person was who was being interviewed, except to say he was originally from India and was talking about his cultural roots during the segment I heard. He was describing how India is so huge and has so many different sub-cultures, so while in India, he was identified as from a certain part of Bombay. Then, he was Indian. Then India got lumped in with Asian, so he became Asian. When he came to the United States he then became a person of color! I got the feeling he was non-plussed about all of it.

#215 CyberFerret52 – Honestly I have more faith in Latino that I have on Asian folks that vote. Most Asians seem to be in places bots are flooded with and in professions where Bots reach them the most. a set of Asians to my knowledge are like the ultra left without the radicalism. They believe in getting paid for what they deserve and may not necassarily believe in distribution of wealth. But there is something that makes them go DEMS time and again.
More contagious is that this set of Asians simply dot on leaders or pretenders that speak well (oratory).
But you know what, may be they are faking it cause when they do get to the booth may be they will vote from their heart and it will for sure not be B.HusseinOblahblah

I see what you mean. Hispanics to me are from Spanish origins. Latinos from Italy, etc. – geographical. Either way, Hispanics are very, very matriarchal. I believe that Palin will appeal to them. At least it does to the ones I know well. I’m not excluding latinos, because I have a friend whose mother is italian and they also have a strong matriachal society. But I also can see your point – there are probably more Democrats than Repubs, but……..I’m hoping that Palin appeals to them all. :lol:

Well I want to point out one thing about the polls, and hope everyone keeps it in mind, the polling for latinos was also for Kerry and against Bush in 2004, yet latinos ended up voting for Bush not Kerry, so take the polls with a grain of salt. I also think it matters, how they are asking the question, a lot of latinos don’t know or understand Spanish, being immigrants and all, so it might be a language barrier.

Also, for someone who was asking or talking about latinos/hispanics

Hispanics are just individuals from latin america who speak spanish.

Latinos is for individuals who come from latin america (not everyone in latin america speaks Spanish i.e. Brazil, so it would be unfair to categorize all as hispanic)

What you’re saying is true but it depends on their exposure where they came from. I’ve notice a lot of Asians are moderates and religious in their own way. They prefer Republicans than democrats due to taxes. Did you know NObama voted for increase of taxes in the senate 4 times? In fact if you’re making 40K annually your taxes went up. That’s one thing I don’t like about the Democratic Party, they love to increase taxes then they sit down and fiddle with their fingers, then give press conference and bullshit the people. Democrats in Congress spend more time arguing, more like a pissing contest than pass laws to help people get a job.

#247 Luckyseven on 09.17.08 at 11:18 pm

I know people have already spoken about this, but I just got off work and had time to check the news today. I saw the clip of Lynn Forester de Rothschild on CNN and thought she so sounded like a PUMA. She said, “the Democratic Party left me, I didn’t leave the Democratic Party.” She gets that BO and the rest of the DNC leadership have abandoned their base. As she pointed out, she is a wealthy woman now, but didn’t grow up that way. I am not a wealthy woman, but I have done well for myself (I have several graduate degrees) because of the hard work of my parents (who were regular working people) and I also want a Democratic Party that makes it possible for other working/poor people to succeed, not a Dem Party who treats working people like they’re scum or the enemy. Good for Lynn F. de Rothschild. I’m glad that she hasn’t forgotten where she came from and that she had the guts to speak out.

Night all,

#257 Grizzly on 09.17.08 at 11:23 pm

Just watched Gloria Allred on Greta jump immediately to the Democratic talking points. She immediately changed the issue from Palin’s e-mail being hacked to Palin’s “possible” use of a personal account to avoid a State subpoena.

Who knew Gloria was an Obot!

First, a subpoena can and usually does cover multiple addresses – the language usually reads something like “any and all electronic communications pertaining to”…You are not looking at one sourse, but everything from all sources pertaining to a certain subject.

Second, States, much like most corporations, have strict policies against using government or company facilities for personal matters. In a corporation, it is grounds for termination. With government, it is grounds at least for an ethics violation and often times dismissal.

To avoid even the appearance of abuse, most government and corporate officials use both business and personal e-mail accounts. And if there is any question as to whether it is an official or personal matter, prudence dictates it be treated as a personal matter. Better to error on the side of personal business than to inadvertently violate written policy or regulation.

Pretty shocking that Team Obama is spinning away on this. It is such a non issue that it makes them look even more deranged than usual.

I have a memorable experience visiting an Indian Reservation. My friend took me with her for a PowWow, she lend me her Indian dress, I wear mocassin shoes too. The funny part, people thought I was Indian too, oh my goodness! I start using sign language I don’t understand their language. My friend had a good laugh about it. Then I found out she told some members of the tribe to talk to me in their native language to see my reaction. They all had a good laugh at my expense, then everyone talk to me in English and told me it was funny to see me trying to communicate with them using sign language……….hahahahahaha!

Watching Palin on Hannity tonight made me both sad and proud. Proud that a female is finally being considered, and sad that it was not Hillary for president.

For Hillary to run in 2012, we must make sure BO does not get elected in Nov. If the Rep’s or the 527′s have some good stuff on BO and MO, I hope they soon put it out there.

#262 Godzilla on 09.17.08 at 11:26 pm

There’s a new CBS poll out that shows Obama up by 5. DON’T worry about this. The poll is heavily padded with democrats, with 40 percent democrats vs 31 percent republicans, an increase in the sample, which is skewed toward more democrats in the sample than their last poll. This is just manipulation to make Obama look good. The local polls are more accurate, and they are trending McCain. CBS is in the tank for Obama and the sampling pool that they used shows this quite obviously. Make sure that anyone you encounter who frets about this CBS poll is aware of the facts. At this point, Rasmussen is more accurate than CBS, and even Rasmussen is skewed heavy toward democrats.

Perhaps a lot of the early arrivals went to academic institutions (like BHO’s father) or became surgeons or even took up the law profession, This made them close to the IVY kind of friendship and caused them to reassert their ideas.
A lot of them are pro-choice as well. so it is 50-50. They feel secure in calling themselves DEMS but are very much independents (wow a lot of them are like PUMA) or would fit the Reagan DEMS or moderate Repub like NY ex-mayor Rudy.

I know of more than a few Republicans that also supported Hillary. If she were the Dem nominee, she would have been unbeatable in the general election.

Not true with Obama. Despite the few token GOP bodies trotted out by the Obama camp, I know of none that have fallen under his spell. The crossover in Obama’s case is going in the opposite direction – to McCain.

If the Dems were serious about taking the White House, they would have moved heaven and Earth to get Hillary on the ticket. Instead, they go with a less than 1 term Senator from the most corrupt political machine in the nation, with dubious associations and no accomplishments at all, to run against the GOP. Talk about trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of Victory!

Hi everyone,
Been so busy here this week no time for anything. However, tonight while sitting here and thinking of my email to the Dem Headquaters here in Ky and not getting what I asked for. I am posting my email to them tonight in response to him saying they don’t have that information.

Enjoy!

Mr Horton,
Thank you for your response to my request. Do I understand you correctly in saying that our Democratic Headquarters in Kentucky does not have any paperwork to show how our delegates voted at the Breakfast vote or the fake Roll Call?

It is amazing to me why we hold elections! Since the delegates are the ones who select our candidate. In this case, Obama was selected and most certainly not elected. What is the point of voting for President? It sure makes my decision to either 1. Not vote Nov 4 or 2. If I do, I will have to cast one for McCain since I know Obama is not experienced enough to lead our country with the shape we are in.

Seems our government consists of Nancy Pelousy and the coward Howard Dean making the decision for all of us who caste our votes for Hillary and they gave it to Obama with their underhanded ways. I will not ever vote for someone who has such disdain for women and that set the tone for racial discord in this entire election process. The sexism has run rampant and the Democrats made no effort to stop it, and allowed it to continue. We shall see if they need our vote in Nov after all. Obviously our votes in their opinions do not count.

I am a proud member of Pumapac, we are several million strong, and not one of us will cast our vote for him this fall, it’s “Nothing On Top” but we will support the democrats who stood for what was right and cast a vote against the ones who were wrong.

Delegates and the elected officials need to remember, that we the people are the ones who put them into office, and they should represent us, and not themselves. Somehow along the way democracy has been lost and self serving power hungry people have taken over. The Presidential election was the Democrats to lose and sadly, they have given it back to the Republicans.

I do trust McCain more than Obama, even tho I don’t agree with his policies, he is someone who can take that 3:00 a.m. phone call when/if the need arises and deal with it and protect us. He does put country before party and can work across the isle. That’s the type of President we need.

Thank you for your time.

For example, my friends who sent me these emails have no idea about the prowls that we send to the msm etc. If I didn’t get this email, I would have not known about it. In fact, it looks like this email was only sent to the Jewish population as that is who it is directed to. So, I really think that we don’t know everything that obama is sending. That is why I proposed an “all points” prowl to people outside of the msm.

Thank for that link. I think that is a fairly nice rebuttal on the swiftboating (but short, maybe)
“You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,” Sen. Barack Obama said Tuesday – thereby spawning one of those vacuous debates that will consume at least two days of air time on cable news talk shows.

——————————————————————————–
Thank Sen. John McCain’s campaign for holding a press call afterward asking Obama to apologize for comparing running mate Sarah Palin to a pig. And then you get instant mindless controversy.

Obama dismissed the gambit as “phony outrage.” And: “Nobody actually believes that these folks are offended.” No lie. It’s why folks call this the silly season.

Obama also had said, “You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called ‘change;’ it’s still going to stink after eight years.” What next? Will McCain’s Navy demand that Obama apologize to old fish, too?

As for Obama, he too has climbed on to the fake umbrage platform. Note how the instant anyone criticizes him, Obama decries “Swift boat politics” – evoking the independent 2004 campaign that took on Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry’s war record and character.

Obama just can’t help himself. The Democratic nominee brought up the “Swift boat” ads again Wednesday – undeterred by the left’s series of scurrilous personal attacks against GOP vice presidential candidate Palin and her family. It started with a Daily Kos story alleging that Palin was actually the grandmother of her infant son Trig.

But it didn’t end there. The folks at Factcheck.org felt compelled to respond to a flood of falsehoods being spread about Palin. As the organization reported, “She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library.”

“She was never a member of the (secessionist) Alaskan Independence Party.”

And: “Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska’s schools.”

Straight news stories have probed meetings in which Palin, then a rookie mayor, asked Wasilla librarian Mary Ellen Emmons about removing books from the library. Palin never named any specific books. No books were banned. The librarian kept her job. But none of that matters.

In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, Palin said she believed in a “healthy debate” in public schools between creationism and evolution – and that reasonable view has been contorted into Palin wanting to force her creationist views down others’ throats. Actually, it is the side that wants no debate that is intolerant.

Methinks if the media believe in such strict scrutiny of Palin’s past, then perhaps reporters might want to look at Obama’s association with Bill Ayers, formerly of the bomb-happy radical Weather Underground when Obama was a state legislator. Or is it only permissible to have flirted with your political persuasion’s far side only if you are a Democrat?

Yes, Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it.

Still, she was against it.

And try as they might, Team Obama can’t erase the fact that Palin stood up to the good old boys in the Alaskan GOP establishment.

The real smear is the insistence of Camp Obama that Palin is patently inexperienced – an odd claim coming from a campaign whose candidate began running for the White House two years into his first term as a U.S. senator.

Now maybe Palin will stumble and show the country that she is not ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. But the Democrats can’t wait for that day, or limit the debate to the issues, because they want so much to destroy this backwoods upstart.

In that spirit, South Carolina Democratic Chairwoman Carol Fowler, told politico.com that Palin’s “primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” If I were Obama, I’d stow the Swift boat laments.

#290 CyberFerret52 – Related to your question – Is HRC really going to announce something tomorrow? If she says I am not going to campaign anymore for BHO will that indicate something.
Would the Republicans have calculated the fact that public financing is better cause it is less risky than what BHO did? Come on Repubs now don’t have to text message you for 5 bucks every 3rd day – is it because they no people are soon going to leave BHO high and dry. While the 50 state strategy is good, did the Repubs sense that this collection agency like grassroot begging will leave BHO campaign running around while McCain will keep his cool and continue to talk sense to people that can make sense. If HRC says I am not for BHO anymore would it not affirm that McCain does not have sweat much through the next 48 days but just get to debates, straight talk express drive arounds and continue to be the underdog..
Am I smelling a BHO inflicted a Repub Coup?

Murphy here is an update to the Kurita case in Tennessee. A Democratic committee met tonight in Clarksville, TN and rejected her appeal 61-4 to reinstate her as the nominee.

I will state again, on a personal level having had some interaction with Ms. Kurita, I feel this is good for the state and for Democrats. HOWEVER, I do acknowledge that this is astounding considering that her primary was held when there was no corresponding republican primary for her race, there was also a Democratic U.S. Senate Primary that may have motivated many people to cross over and that we have a 100 percent open primary as we do not have party registration. So, even if she was elected by Republican cross overs, you cannot, given Tennessee’s primary system, differentiate.

I was watching FOX last night (yeah, I know) and saw Greta’s interview with Todd Palin. Seemed like a good guy.

More interesting was a very short interview with the creator of a documentary about outstanding women across the world…… The man seemed to be French. Said Palin was smart, focused, calm, very nice and exactly the same off-camera as she was on camera. He liked her a lot…..
————————

I saw this too, but I didn’t catch everything. They showed the parts of the film showing Sarah Palin going about her daily life business. The filmmaker said the camera was on her constantly for some days, and, in watching/editing, he was impressed by what a powerful woman she is… so poised, focused and effective at all times. He said he didn’t agree with her on all issues, but that she has to be acknowledged as an outstanding women (don’t recall exact words).

Did anyone catch his name and the name of the documentary and whether the film is completed/released or still in the making?

Tonight Greta interviewed Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a top Hillary supporter/campaigner (& top fundraiser for HRC) who has defected to McCain. She criticized the DNC and said that its top honchos (Dean, etc) have gone too far to the left.

John McCain co-sponsored the S. 190 [109th]: Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 and Democrats shot it down! That bill predicted everything happening now. It called for oversight of Freddie Mac and Fannie May! McCain needs this information in ads,stump speeches,and t.v. interviews from now until the election is over! How dare the Democrats try and blame him for this! This is coming from a left-leaning Independent. Actually, the Democratic Party is too far left for me to lean that way now. as long as we all remember that 61 is an empty suit, full of lies and empty promises, that he never has tried to make anything (other than his own) better, we can step into the boothes and pull the lever for the right one. just be true to youself, and what you are all about, pick who really wants the best for our country, and not for who just wants power because that is all they have ever lusted for… the choice becomes quite simple, and if it isn’t – then one must look themself in the mirror and look for what is true. don’t do it with a heart of anger, but with a heart of hope. we have too damn much anger out and about already. the hate and anger are not pure, but love and hope are. my words may not reach many, and I am tired, I have cried too many tears these past months, yes, I am very tired. Thanks. I get frustrated with McCain’s campaign quite often b/c I email them my suggestions all the time and it seems to go unnoticed. Although, I pushed him to pick Palin, but I can’t take credit for that. Only time will tell if that works out anyway. I knew she was way conservative on social issues, which would actually make his Party vote for him, but I liked that she has a maverick streak as well. McCain ignored my plea to give the “man to the moon” energy speech, and then Obama gave it. That wasn’t a big deal and so far no ad has been made of Obama’s own words saying he will cut our “unproven” missile defense systems and won’t weaponize space. I’m still waiting, it barely gets watched on youtube. : )

No, I don’t just feel blah, I feel like nothing I do in this quest does any good. Getting two MSNBC reporters demoted is about all that has worked. The convention, the petition of 300, then 800. Then the polls are even again and where is the contempt for what happened with the damn delegates that just worried about their own jobs. They are not getting money from the DNC anyway because Bo needs it. Bo and his nutcakes are getting people in jail to send in absentee voter cards to replace PUMA votes.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sick of all this corruption and no one out their listens. I feel like a UFO believer in this election.

Don’t feel defeated pumas, the fact that McCain has kept it this close is impressive! No other Republican would have stood a chance in this election b/c of Bush and the “chosen one’s” appeal. McCain isn’t a “typical” Republican so he can actually beat this guy, but he will need help. It will be an uphill battle, but perhaps McCain can defeat him and then the bigger challenge will begin–reforming the Democratic Party! As an Independent, I don’t have Party loyalty but I do appreciate choices!

TOPIC: Mainstream Media in America Today

#391 Billiejo, you’re not the only one. When I stop to think how many reporters I’ve personally written to and not even rec’d a reply, it boggles the mind. At least the SF Chronicle reporter replied back (see post above somewhere).

I hope that “Audacity of Democracy” does a GOOD job of explaining just how MANY emails and FAXES and Phonecalls were made by PUMA’s to the MEDIA, because viewers may be staggered by that information! And also, I hope that the NEXT Video made by Murphy et al addresses MAINSTREAM MEDIA IN AMERICA.

Murphy if you do this, I can be one of your subject matter specialists because I have worked with members of the media for years, and never have I seen them as lackluster as 2008!

Look at this from a different perspective. BO has money, the MSM, the DP, organization, ACORN, Hollywood, and his bundlers but McCain is slightly ahead. I know Bo’s supporters hate Hillary, they only want to use her. My wanting her to be given something is selfish, I miss her, she gives me hope that there is something good out there fighting for the little people that have no health insurance and are sick, like my 24 year old son that has colitis. It just sucks. Bo will not make anything better, I know that. I want Hillary to be given a chance to make things better, not just sit in her senate seat and be a good girl.

(from comment section at NoQ. If an Obama supporter wants to actually argue with me and get in MY FACE I promise you they will regret it.)

OBAMA TELLS AUDIENCE TO ARGUE WITH NEIGHBORS & GET IN THEIR FACE

In Elko, Nevada today, Obama said the following:

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

“And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns.’ I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’ If they tell you, ‘Well, he’s going to raise your taxes,’ you say, ‘No, he’s not, he’s going lower them.’ You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case.”

NOW WE KNOW WHERE THE ORDERS ARE COMING FROM FOR THE OBAMA TROLLS AND SUPPORTERS TO BE SO AGGRESSIVE.

400 BillieJo ,
I want to apologize to you. I didn’t mean to offend. I know I overstate that I’m an Independent, but that’s b/c I don’t want to come off as insensitive. I get on here to blow off my own steam sometimes. Being in the middle means I’m in the middle. For example, I want to drill. I know it’s not the solution, but I think it’s part of the solution. I also wanted universal healthcare, but Obama’s plan scares me. He’s so inexperienced and if he starts off leaving 18 million people out, everytime they go to the emergency room the rates will go up for everyone else. I’ve never had health insurance and I have severe epilepsy. Trust me I want it! However, I’ve heard horror stories of certain countries that didn’t get it right and it caused patient stacking,old people being euthanized for their beds,and total chaos. In other countries it’s been a complete success. I trusted Hillary with this, but not Obama. I really am sorry for you guys, maybe you should write in Hillary. If you are completely on the left I don’t blame you. Vote your beliefs. Be sure to check with your state. In some states writing in a Democrat gives the vote to the Democrat on the ticket.If you change your mind for Obama I won’t hold that against you either. I hope you can understand my position, I understand yours. Again, what I said was insensitive,sorry.

There are “polls” and then there are “polls”…every party does their own polls. For the other “polls” that are polling more Dems…*61 should be ahead by double digits everywhere! He is not and they know it.

I have been reading this blog since I came home and PUMAS, we have accomplished alot! The media now recognizes that we are not flocking to *61, our people have been on national TV, we got a roll call when they said no, we listened when Hillary said, “Where you just in this for me?”

This is much larger than Hillary…it is about “We the People” of this great nation have banned together and have said, “NO!” to evil and a sleeper that is attempting to destroy our country and us!

As PUMAS, our voices will not be silenced after Nov. In reality…it has just begun! What we have done in 3 months is beyond words! PUMAS give yourself a pat on the back! :) As PUMAS, we will continue to face our enemies and win! Bots are being won over!

Remember in Hitler’s day there was no Internet. If there was…history would of been different. *61 may be using the Internet but it is backfiring on him! Today the Chicago Tribune has turned on him. The Chicago Sun Times the other day. CNN last night said they will start to not “follow” his requests and start to report on him. It may not be how soon we wanted it but it is starting…what made him will bring him down!

NO WAY NO HOW NOBAMA…NOW OR EVER!

With all of BO’s advantages he should be way ahead in this race, but he’s not. Rasmussen said on FOX that 25% of the voters are not paying attention to this race. They are going about their daily lives. However, the debates will be important.

A general election campaign is different than a primary or caucus because of the electoral map. During the primary races none of us had even heard of ACORN, but now we are on to their cheating ways.

The Puma factor is not accounted for in the polls! The more the left wing of the DP tries to destroy Palin, it drives voters away from Cupcake because it reminds us of what happened to Hillary.

Karma is Bitch!

I think even worse of bozo because of his caucus corruption and the farce at the convention. He has nothing to offer but good at reading a speech. His supporters should vote for him to be their preacher and leave this jerk out of the election.

I am talking in circles, sorry PUMA, I have to go to bed and mellow out. Thanks for letting me vent and I will try to be a better PUMA tomorrow. :lol:
Good night all.
Sweet dreams.

Greta wire was hacked and my computer got 36 popup blocks when I posted a message on her board.

At 10:20 I voted, and the count was over 11,000 votes. 99% saying that the Palin email hack was a dirty political trick. At 10:40 I went back to post a comment and multiple windows were opening up on my computer and eating up the memory, sending up error messages that kept me from completing my post.

According to Greta, at 10:55 25,000 message registered to vote that the email invasion of Palin’s email was just a harmless prank.

Something has gone very wrong in our country when Obama can get away with voter fraud and sending his minions out to hack computers. Not that he will admit to any of that. It reeks of the Obama smell. I agree with Michelle Obama, he does smell bad.

@429: Username

I’m more of a centrist myself. I want to drill now, and I used to be a part of many environmental groups. After this year though, I realize I have been suckered into a lot of liberal platforms that are not always right or even logical. (I want to do it all…all forms of energy.)

I am so angry with my party. Not just at the people (Reid, Dean, Pelosi, Kerry, Brazile, Obama, etc), and not just because of the sexism and the selection of non-elected Obama, but I am pissed OFF at the whole party because I think I had an ideal of what “democrat” meant and it isn’t even like that at all!

I see who was mainly behind the Fannie Mae crisis and it is mainly the fault of democrats. I see how much the democrats SUCK in Congress.

I keep seeing evidence of democrats making decisions to purposefully hurt our economy, our national security, and our energy independence. ON PURPOSE, just so that there is cause to still have a party at all? Who knows. Afterall, if everything is great, what the hell do we need them for?? They need to keep people wanting.

Now, just because I am pissed off at dems does not mean that some of my liberal leaning views will change. I just don’t even know what to call myself anymore.

I can see good things in both parties. I can NOW see crap things in both parties as well. I always thought the democrats were the good guys. I was pretty idealistic for a long time. I can never even be able to count all the debates I had–sticking up for democrats…for WHAT!?

I keep bitchin’ that the democratic party changed, well, maybe it was always crap and I didn’t know it!!

I’m getting so sick of this two party system. We can’t have extremists on either side (Bush/ Obama). We need the best out of both parties, and McCain is the only one who looks remotely like he will be closer to a centrist and work with both parties.

I am just so disgusted, especially in the last few days, to keep seeing LYING zombie democrats on TV–and how they keep LYING! And repeating talking points like idiots! It’s embarrassing! You tell them something about Obama and they act like it is meaningless, as if they have no principles at all. it makes me furious.

I am telling you, I have had it! I watch the Obama-media, and I thought…it’s OBAMA doing something to the media.

NO. No, maybe not! Maybe the media has ALWAYS been this effing nuts and when republicans complained about Hollywood and the “liberal media” all the time…THIS IS WHAT they were talking about???? Was it always this way??

455 NoMoreInFL,
Very red state of Alabama. This was my first election and I since I was for Hillary I thought my vote would actually matter in the primary, but you know about the voter fraud here. At least I get a second chance with McCain. I never would have thought at the beginning of this my vote would matter more in the general election than the primary, but what what a crazy journey. I don’t see myself voting for too many Republicans in the future, so we must reform the Democratic Party. I have a feeling I would belong there more.

Two of my friends who were campaigning with me for Hillary, are Reps, they just changed to Dem to vote for her.
Now they switched to Rep again. But I just can’t vote for any of the candidates, the economy is a mess and as someone mentioned before, they have sold out the country.
Who’s going to fix it? I don’t trust any one, our only hope was Hillary.

#467 Username, the problem is that the OBots are already in. From what I’ve heard, and the videos I’ve seen, is that the Obama people crashed the primaries. It looks like they just blitzkrieged their way in. You’re gonna have to get down and nasty to get them out of the party, is what I think. It looks like you’ll be dealing with thugs without any scruples whatsoever.

#480 Libby on 09.18.08 at 2:54 am

No one will read this because it is so late but I just have to get this off my chest. I have been a Independent for many years because no party totally represents me and that is fine with me.

But I have to say that the Puma party is better than the Democrats in this day and time. It is better than the Republicans in it’s worst of times.

I don’t think the Puma’s should try to remake the Democratic Party. Leave them to die in the light of day.

Rather, keep being the Puma party, a new party with a platform that is what you really believe in is best for this country. Starting with Country First. Obama just was the last leg that made it clear where the Democratic Party was heading on it’s way into socialism and non-effective participation in government other than to tick people off when they do not perform.

Wipe the slate clean and keep with the new image. Forget the donkey and go with the Puma.

The Green Party and other break off groups have never had the power of the Pumas. Puma has a fresh start with the possibility of real across the board appeal to the people of the U.S.

Just my thoughts for the past several days. Sure it is really hard work but no harder than the Pumas have been doing for the past three months.

Ok anger into action…? We have a bit over a month until election day.

We think caucuses are bad, so we can work harder to abolish them. Do we even have an anti-caucus petition going? Who do we need to contact and what do we need to do to push a national discussion? And really get this going? (But even that’s a waste of time and should probably only be focused on after the election.)

We want BO defeated yes? Well, what are we going to do besides canvass and vote and set up flyers? I know for a fact that Obama needs to be vetted on many issues in the media. Most people only know what they know through media. Puma Pac has a large email list, why aren’t we forming a “puma tipsters” and sending out information on BO to the media non-stop? Is there a rule as far as Pacs? Every email to the media could state: “This concerns me, please verify or debunk this and report on the truth to inform American voters.” Then, a brief summary, and a link. We have tons of information…but what’s it for? To just gossip and get angry (like me). We already know Obama is a fraud, it’s the people OUT THERE that need to know. Meanwhile, prowls emailing the DNC or the BO campaign are pointless. They don’t give a crap and they are not going to change. And they LOVE that we are wasting time on them since they are a dead-end and keep our complaints nice and private. They only care about the media and their image. That’s it. That always has been and always will be the only way to hurt them or get noticed.

Again, media is where it’s at and The Denver Group really made an impact with great ads. If Puma pac won’t make ads, then why aren’t we fundraising for Principle Before Party, or is there a cross pac fundraiser rule?

Pumas have blogs, but we can’t be too insular. How about every puma sign up for newsvine or another sort of non-puma site and each write their puma stance and the reason why they will not support BO? Need to branch out more. Or how about starting a blog, not to fancy it up or fill it up, but just each of us starting a blog ONLY to write a one page letter to America or BO, or to whomever and explain why you do not support O. Others will see it floating around the internet. And we should all be writing puma letters to the editor at newspapers at least once a week.

And what in the world about JSND? They have that front page, and access to a zillion pumas, and I think they should have a suggested action 3 x a week smack on the front page. It will pass on to each blog and more people can get work done.

And I don’t understand why we would raise money for democrats. I know we want to keep a majority, but they have the DNC and 30 + million democrats in this nation who can help raise money for them. It just doesn’t make sense to me to raise thousands of dollars toward a democrat that is supposedly getting helped with their connections (like Hillary and the DNC). Sheila Jackson Lee? That’s one ad in a newspaper.

We have a lot of goals, but I hope we can cut the fat and have definitive solid cystal clear goals (and not a million all spread out, some need to be on backburner until after election) and then we need to fight like hell to accomplish the tasks at hand, because we only have 40 something days left until election day, and here we are gossiping and having tantrums (I am talking about myself). I read how I am complaining about democrats, (#465) well what’s the damn point. Everyone is complaining about the party this year. How is that helping that I just keep agreeing with everyone and getting angrier? It’s running in place.

Ugh, I’m exhausted. G’Night.

#484 Luckyseven on 09.18.08 at 3:56 am

307 tennaseepuma – I am referring to people in our OWN address books. just us “plain and ordinary folk” who believe it or not are computer literate :) These emails spread like wild fire – remember how the Obama is Muslim email spread. Probably 90% of people who have computers got that

#485 Luckyseven on 09.18.08 at 3:59 am

In addition to the media, I am proposing that we send out emails just to private citizens (ie friends and family etc.) who are in our address books. The msm is so in the tank for Obama. Do you think that they will report how much we are bombarding them. We have to also get to Jane and Joe America!!

#486 notfollowinthepiedpiper on 09.18.08 at 4:08 am

#485 Luckyseven

I think this is key. It reaches people of every age, party, socio-economic level, gender, religion, race etc. etc.

I’ve been scouring the internet for reliable information highlighting the truth (that the MSM is “overlooking” or sugar coating) and sending it to everyone in my address book for months. Even my 80 year old father, who has never touched a computer in his life (and never will either) has been persuaded to not vote Democrat for the first time ever. And this is just because my mom reads her email to him every day. People who don’t use the internet know people who do, and the content of these emails get discussed in break rooms at work, over lunch, on the train, and on park benches while children play. This is indeed a powerful tool.

#487 Godzilla on 09.18.08 at 4:22 am

#485 Luckyseven & #486 not followinthepiedpiper, I third that. Direct email is the key. I send emails every day to my sons. If I was a card carrying PUMA member, I’d be urging somebody in PUMA Pac to be putting together a well-written, factual, objective, and reasoned information packet which would include text and links to videos. This packet would emailed out to everyone in the democratic party and to all independents. If such a database is not available, then direct mail everyone in the country. This is the only definite way to get the issue into peoples’ homes. Fox gets PUMA people on every now and then, but I think you’ll agree that the Cavuto and company are really clueless (Cavuto: “Is this just sour grapes”).

#488 SATA_Interface on 09.18.08 at 4:27 am

I have to say that amount of smears issues out by Obama and his MSM friends the last week is staggering.

“I believe that Barack Obama, with MoveOn.org and Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, has taken the Democratic Party — and they will continue to — too far to the left,” Lynn Forester de Rothschild said. “I’m not comfortable there.”

“I just ask, who has Barack Obama ever stood up to? And that troubles me a lot,” she said.

IT was good, he said he has more proof that BO did do this, he said he had no reason to lie, he said that who BO talked to is standing by this (like maybe he has something also). While they were talking BO’s camp send a statement saying the Amir Taheri is a McCain person (or writes for McCain). But not one other news channel covered it this morning I kept flipping back and forth to see big shocker there. Amir Taheri said he is standing by what he wrote and BO is lying.

This is just getting so rediculous that the media is now playing again like they did with Hillary and the “Bosniagate” on Palin………..Obama can’t do anything on his own and knows nothing about any issue and can only go yada yada yada and waaaa waaa waaa so he has to call out the big boys in the media to do his Chicago nasty politics for him………what a good for nothing FUCKING BIGGEST LOOOOOOOSER!!!!!!!!!!

And if O-boi keeps up hitting McCain on his statement that “the economy is functionally secure” O-boi will create the rush on the banks and the crash that everyone is trying to avoid……….he is a fool and he will be the cause of a major crash because he is doing nothing to build up the publics confidence that things will work out…he is doing the opposite as much as he can………….He is no leader….a leader needs to build public confidence, whether false or not, to keep from creating a worse situation and all he is doing in everything he says is to make it worse………there is a very very fine line that needs to be walked and talked between politics on the matter and creating a “run on the banks”………..what is going on right now is not one to be politicized to make points in an election but must be dealt with hands on to stop the bleeding………

really if he was any type of leader that he claims to be he would stop campaigning and roll his sleeves up and have summits and get involved on legisilation to do everything first hand to stop the current situation……….but the only thing he cares about is getting that vote by scaring people into believing he is the messiah that will swoop down and instantly save them…………

#538 DeepSouth on 09.18.08 at 8:39 am

Good morning! I’ve been reading some of the posts and see some Pumas are feeling a bit down. DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED!!

1. Do not pay any attention to the National Polls. I believe many of them arrange their polling base to reflect something very different than the truth. I feel many of them are not much different than the MSM. The proof of this is in the state run polls which tell a VERY different story. Remember what was done in many of the primaries. When it was time to vote some type of “announcement” was made letting everyone know that Oblahblah had this in the bag. This was done to discourage voters from bothering to vote for Hillary or vote at all for that matter. Much of what is happening now is being done to discourage anti-BO groups from pressing forward.

2. As all of you know the Repub campaign guns have sat back uncharacteristically silent. Something is up with that. They have always come out hot and heavy, yet they are sitting back running those soft little tit for tat ads. They have something big. They are sitting on it and waiting for the right time to let the cat out of the bag. Everything we know, they know except they have the money and investigators to know more. I’m just waiting for it to happen.

3. I know we all miss Hillary and have different feelings about how she is handling things. Don’t forget the public acknowledgement on several occasions where Hillary and McCain professed their admiration and respect for each other. Don’t forget the mysterious meeting with Hillary’s brother. Don’t forget the meetings McCain held with a woman (so sorry I can’t remember her name) who basically could have been a representative of the 18 million and his promise to her that should he be elected his administration would consist of the best regardless of party affiliation, gender or race.

I am REALLY hoping that Hillary takes Condi’s place. She is the only one worthy with the knowledge and experience not to mention she has already roamed those circles.

Anyway…..keep on fighting the good fight!!

#540 Middle age female on 09.18.08 at 8:48 am

535 KarenWI – I have several thoughts. (1) It may be she is NOT going to run in 2012 – thinking that will make more vote for BO, (2) something about not showing up next wk if Palin is going to be there, or (3) a medical problem.

Of course, I could be way off – would not be the first time. LOL

#541 1gypsy4mc on 09.18.08 at 8:48 am

537 GBPuma I agree that the last thing our country needs is a “rush” to withdraw stocks/bonds/savings! But I also feel we need to condemn many of the government officials for putting us in this situation.

538 DeepSouth I really believe that Hillary will get a position, but I think Joe Lieberman with get C. Rice’s position.

Lynn Forester de Rothschild has a website that she started quite a while ago. She has a comments section, an email address, telephone # and a contact (for media) webform posted there. She’s phenomenal. I’m so glad she stepped out and announced her support for John McCain. I am sure there are a lot of other bigtime Hillraisers, etc. that are joining her, though perhaps not so vocal about it yet.

Good morning Puma’s. For the first time in a long time, I am feeling more encouraged. I was watching all the news shows this morning before work. Puma Democrats was mentioned on at least 3 of them! WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! We have got to step it up, especially with the media. Fox news is OUR FRIEND! They stated how the bloggers are getting stuff out to the main stream media. So they are paying attention! We also need to send love to Lady Rothschild, she said she needs to get a bullet proof vest. We need to send her some Puma Love.
I have even seen some Obots that are actually sincere in finding out the truth…it is finnally starting to sink in that their chosen one..isn’t who they thought he was. I am at work now…but will do some extra prowls this morning….
Let’s kick some PUMA knowledge out their today!

#580 BrooklynNY on 09.18.08 at 9:40 am

That racism argument is so lame. Plenty of black pols HAVE been elected in the last several years AND hold positions of power in many fields today. That “Bradley Effect” had a lot more to it than just skin color (how ’bout incompetence and unfit for the job?). Dems just can’t accept they screwed up royally by picking an inadequate, unqualified, lame candidate. Not taking responsibility for their own actions seems to be a fundamental current Dem trait – always got to find a scapegoat for their own inadequacy. Step #1 Dems: Identify the problem and Accept RESPONSIBILITY for your own failures and inadequacies. It’s the only way to “redemption” you fools.

“Pity” is a poor reason to vote for someone. Emotional manipulation and pity is not going to “guilt” too many people in 2008 to vote for the “black guy.” Except maybe Kathleen Sebelius and Maureen Dowd, Chris Matthews and their dimwitted cohorts…

Clinton supporters were blamed for a similar vandalism incident several months ago in Orlando Florida and it made the national news http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqaiquXubPM . They we heard no more. But the culprit was arrested and had nothing to do with the Clinton Campaign, he was just a nut job. But the media has not given the truth any kind of press. It forms the basis of the reason this Pac was started…This is great!
Finally a Democratic Public figure articulating the real issues of Obimbo. This piece also is a pure example of press bias. Campbell Brown is a lightweight in any case and it really shows here..You will like this piece very much…Thanks Spark for the link. Does anyone have a link to the Wall Street Journal piece de Rothschild references? She said she wrote it last week? C.Brown is the daughter of former Sec of State for Louisiana, Jim Brown, but she did not come up the line as a hard hitting reporter…Sorry, I have followed her; she is another pretty face who plays nice….with those with whom in the industry have the power. She is a powder puff posing as a reporter and de Rothschild’s tone and handling of her really shows this up.

Yes, mpk, it may have been true in ’82, but I really don’t think it’s as true in ’08. A lot has happened since then….

And in ’08 if people aren’t going to vote for Obama, there are a multitude of obvious reasons that far outweigh skin color.

Like I said earlier, it would be refreshing if Dems started taking some responsibility for their failures instead of falling on old, worn-out crutches that just end up making them look even more like the losers they are.

David Gergan should put a sock in it…starting to blame ‘racism’ if BHO loses…Whattttt, am so SICK of this stuff, the Dems and their pocket puppet have set racial relations back 30 years!!! A great quote I saw yesterday…..’ it’s NOT the pigmentation of his skin I’m opposed to..it is his PIG MENTALITY !’

I do get discouraged by the cheap shots and lies spewed forth on the tv networks,Cnn & Msnbc..they just are not credible .I am frustrated and feeling powerless to stop ‘his highness ‘and all of my former democrat ‘heroes’ from totally eviserating this country. For so many years I was a loyal rank and file democrat but I am ASHAMED TO ADMIT THAT NOW. I now see Kerry, Reid,Pelosi,Dodd,McCaskil,Sebulious,Biden,Kennedy,Dean,Brazille as evil incarnate and blame this $$$ for their do nothing Democratic congress…they sat in Congress waiting for the house to fall in so they could blame GW and the Repub..in the meantime they cheated the American public out of solutions to this economic mess they more than helped to create. Pelosi should be impeached, as should Reid.

This latest hijacking of the system by Obama led supporters , the hacking of Sarah Palins email, is a dire WARNING to all Americans …this man (BHO) will stop at nothing to get into the White House..the voting machines have probably been tampereed with by his gang. Biden is out on the campaign stump lauding a tax increase as being PATRIOTIC ..God help us. We don’t need a tax increase!!! We need responsible Congress to budget what monies they do have,they need to stay out of our wallets .

I also lay this corrupt Democrat party and Obama at the door step of NBC<CBS<ABC<CNN<MSNBC for not doing their job…they are nothing but a propaganda arm for Obama, they could care less what happens to our country…Democracy be damned is their motto.

Campbell Brown was a lot better when she stuck to being the replacement host on weekends for the Today Show, covering summer fashion and interviewing the chef of the week.

She’s another one that needs the drool bucket around her neck when interviewing Obama. (Like the “Ladies of the View” – described as hysterical liberal women who need a drool bucket when in the company of Barack Obama. Wish I had coined that phrase, but I can’t take credit for it – someone said it last night on Hannity I believe, can’t remember who though.l…)

I take AOL polls more seriously on the national level because AOL users are every party everywhere. All of their polls which reach up to around the 400,000 mark of voters show McCain/Palin leading on all issues by a HUGE margin. I’ve noticed that AOL polls tend to match up to the state polls.

BROOKLYN: Exactly right! That is her territory..powder puff fluff, which I feel frankly is the case, Iam sorry to say with most of the female so called analysts, reporters or whatever they call themselves these days on the MSM. I includehere as well a number on Fox.
All beautiful but often simply readers of text. Perhaps that accounts for a lot of the bias against women…These powder puffs came up the line the old fashioned way: Smiled and looked pretty…Judy Woodwruff, Leslie Stahl, definitely..Cokie Roberts, the daughter of former Congresswoman Lindy Boggs, who by the way Nancy Pelosi could take lots of lessons from,
have offered us substance all along the way. That also has gone by the wayside.

This is interesting. The AP ‘refused’ to hand over the hacked personal emails to the FBI from Palin’s hacked personal email account. Now we all know how disreputable the AP has become (in the tank for BO), but this is really pushing it. Hindering an official investigation?! I’ve read elsewhere that there was nothing in there of interest except some personal emails and family pictures. The media is getting unbelievable and just about as desperate as the BO campaign to bring her down, they are so afraid of this woman.

Obama just publicaly ordered his flying monkeys to get out and get in people’s faces:
***
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/09/17/politics/p185733D40.DTL&type=politics

“In Elko, Obama tried to anticipate his critics and called on the crowd of about 1,500 to sharpen their elbows, too.

You guys are the ones who can make the case.”"

“I want you to argue with them and get in their face”??????

Morning all. Just need to do a little venting before I head out to wait in Home Depot lines for supplies. I’m wondering if Biden even bothers to read headlines lately? Even the wealthy are starting to drown in this economy. Hope I’m not ruffling any feathers here, but the way I see it, if we kick the props out from under everyone, everyone goes down with no hope of recovery. We need a better plan that addresses the needs of all Americans from the wealthy to the poverty stricken. I’ll say it again NObama.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Biden: Paying higher taxes patriotic for wealthy
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080918/ap_on_el_pr/biden_taxes
WASHINGTON – Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans. In a new TV ad that repeats widely debunked claims about the Democratic tax plan, the Republican campaign calls Obama’s tax increases “painful.”
I agree with you; it is there. But I do believe in this day and age a truly qualified, impressive candidate would overcome that bias. Maybe not everywhere, but in a significant portion of the country. We’ll never eliminate prejudices completely and people don’t just limit their bigotry and hatred to skin color, sadly.
Ironically, I think the biggest supporters of Barack Obama, like Chris Matthews, Keith Obermann, Mika Brezinski, etc. are the ones struggling the hardest with their latent racism. To me that’s one of the main reasons their so vocal in their support – to show how “enlightened” they are….
Like you, I am also not holding my breath for the Dem party to “come around.” Before that happens, I believe they are really going to have to “hit bottom.” A good 12-Step Program could do wonders for them. But since “Denial Ain’t Just a River in Egypt” and the hubris and arrogance runs deep in the current day DP, I don’t see it happening anytime soon either. Unfortunately.
Seems it may be more likely we ACTUALLY do see the “Second Coming of the Lord” before that does happen and his name WILL NOT be Barack Obama.
I share Lynn De Rotschild view, my vote for McCain is real vote. That’s what I’ve been saying for a long time Roe V. Wade cannot be overturned, it is embedded in our constitution, The RIGHT TO CHOOSE. I’ve said a long time ago; loyalty to my party ends where loyalty to my country begins. My loyalty will always be with United States of America, a country that gives opportunities to those who are not afraid to work to fulfill their dreams.
The American dream is alive and well, a person is the determinant of their own future, fulfill their own dreams, not the government.
Some good stuff out there this AM. An article dubbing Obama’s internet minions “digital brownshirts”:
***
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/sep/18/the-new-digital-brownshirts/
Thursday, September 18, 2008
EDITORIAL: The new ‘digital brownshirts’
“Where is Al Gore when you need him? Three years ago, the former vice president blasted “digital brownshirts” who “harass and hector any journalist who is critical of the president.” He meant the mortal threat to the Republic of bloggers and angry Republican e-mailers. But times change, and the digital legions are greater nowadays on Mr. Gore’s side. Thus we don’t hear much fretting at all about the Obama Action Wire, which, unlike the brownshirts of yore, is actually managed by Barack Obama’s campaign to muzzle critical media.
Here’s how it works. A message goes out over Barack Obama’s Web site with the names, phone numbers and e-mails of editors and producers foolish enough to host Obama critics. With Mr. Obama’s extensive digital following, and his extensive fund-raising and contact lists, shutting up the Democratic nominee’s critics with a fraction of Mr. Obama’s millions of supporters is relatively simple. The digital legions plug phone lines, crash servers and intimidate the advertisers of these media outlets. This must be another instance of the “new” politics that Mr. Obama frequently talks about.
The latest incident, reported in the Chicago Tribune, “orchestrated a massive stream of complaints on the phone lines of Tribune Co.-owned WGN-AM in Chicago. “The offense: The station hosted National Review’s David Freddoso, author of ‘The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate,’ a fair and rigorous but adversarial examination of Mr. Obama’s record. Surely, we can’t have any of that.
“The Action Wire serves as a means of arming our supporters with the facts to take on those who spread lies about Barack Obama and respond forcefully with the truth, whether it’s an author passing off fiction as biography, a Web site spreading baseless conspiracy theories or a TV station airing an ad that makes demonstrably false claims,” Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt told the Tribune.
How Orwellian. Mr. LaBolt defends the very actions that prevent WGN-AM and others from airing the facts, as though obstructionism is an “airing of facts.”
Note to the Obama campaign: Informed observers don’t get “the facts” only from a political campaign. They read and listen to the independent media outlets – the same outlets the thin-skinned Mr. Obama is currently trying to quash.”
I agree. My husband and I came from Canada to the US 17 years ago with LESS THAN NOTHING!!!
We worked our a$$’ of and we may not be in the top 2% but perhaps were in the top 5%. He was laid off (mortgage industry) & we are now in the 95% of population and gues what??? We are going to work our a$$’ off again, pick ourselves by the boot straps and get back to where we were.
With the socialist country that Canada is and failing health care (endless waiting time to see a specialist, HIGH taxes…) we realized we could not even afford to have children ,pay for diapers & the rest.
That IS what the USA is ALL about. The land of opportunity.
…and I will fight for this freedom!
I may not agree with McCain on several issues BUT I totally disagree with Nobama’s politics and how he and the DNC made a mockery of our democratic process & let me-a former democrat-down like that.
I submitted this suggestion to http://www.thehansenfiles.com for Dateline (at BOBRAM’s excellent suggestion) but I wish we could also do a HUGE prowl.
#648 KarenWI on 09.18.08 at 10:43 am
Ok I found the original. It wasn’t the way the later ones made it sound. It’s actually a press announcement by BO (Yawn)… posted by SoCalHockeyMom at 6:40 pm in the thread about the DNC lady announcing she was supporting McCain. This is what the post said:
“I was just listening to the NPR radio show and they said that BO is going to hold a press conference tomorrow morning at 8am Pacific/11am Eastern to make a major announcement.
With all the news about Hillary potentially coming onto the ticket do you think that could be the announcement? Or maybe it’s something about his citizenship status?
I cannot think that this is going to be a positive announcement for his campaign. “
Yeah, with that approach he’s going to be just great on the world stage. What’s he going to do when some other foreign power disagrees with him? Is he going to “get in their faces” too? Send the army out to do his dirty work for him? The guy who advocated more “civility in public discourse”? The guy who’s going to end the war? Bring the troops home? “Negotiate” with “terrorists”? Let’s see him get in their faces. Oh yeah. I forgot. Those guys are his “friends.” Maybe that’s why he seems to like the “get in their faces” approach. Terrorism Light. Obama style.
Universal (Socialized) Health Care won’t solve the problem. I don’t want a govt official deciding if I live or die. Socialized medicine will cause a rationing of care and drugs. It will also be behind the times when it comes to newer technology.
Why are Canadian doctors leaving Canada for the US?
Why did Oregon, a State sponsored healthcare system, deny a woman chemotherapy for her cancer which will help her live a better quality of life for 6 months or more? At the same time Oregon would pay for the woman’s assisted suicide. Thankfully the drug company donated the drug.
Teddy Kennedy would have died waiting for care of his tumor under socialized medicine. Or he would have been denied care all together because of his age.
Start with portable health care spending accounts with no tax implications. Keep competition. Let the patient and doctor decide treatment. Give tax credits to for companies to fund personal accounts.
Reduce administration costs. Paperwork is a significant cost of healthcare. The inefficiencies are huge. I use to work with a health care consulting company dealing with these inefficiencies.
Our healh care system is the most innovative in the world. It isn’t perfect.
We have to put the decision making back into the hands of the patient and the doctor. Socialized medicine will not do that.
I have one question. Do you think the Senate and Congress will have the same plan as regular Americans?
If not, then Universal Health care doesn’t pass my smell test.
The govt fails at running any big program. Social Security and medicare are broke. How will they run healthcare?
#665 DeepSouth on 09.18.08 at 11:02 am
A poll is favorable whoever sponsor the said poll. My friend in Sydney Australia is a consultant. Pollsters don’t come for free, you have to pay them to do it. CNN polls is laughable, Zogby polls have lost its sparkle; a relative of Nobama is working for Zogby. The Democrats and GOP have internal polling, they know where their candidate stands in general election.
I was polled by gallup many times in 2000 and 2004, I lie like a dog. I said I would vote for Bush, actually I voted for Gore and Kerry. My cousins living in California did the same thing, they said they’d vote for Bradley, when GE comes, they’ve voted for his opponent. Last Primary, NObama was 13+ against Hillary, Hillary won California.
Good Morning Pumas.
This headline on CNN blog,
“Michelle Obama is holding an economic round-table with working women in Charlotte, and will speak at a rally in Greensboro later Thursday.”
Let’s see maybe she can explain to all of us working women how to double our salaries in one easy step.
In 2005 Obama’s wife Michelle who worked for the University of Chicago Hospital gets her salary more than doubled, from $121,910 to 316,962.
And then for some reason and next thing you know, in 2006, Obama gives The University of Chicago Hospital a huge $1 million dollar earmark???
Was Michelle’s increase in salary a finder’s fee of 12.19% of the million dollars?
#669 Headclunker on 09.18.08 at 11:03 am
PUMA’s
Don’t sweat the polls. BO is using maximum influence right now. The O’bots have gone stark stairing insane with rediculous postings. Craigslist, LA had almost 200 posts yesterday, more typical would be 10-20. When the flagging gets limited, they flood the boards with nonsence. They have become demented.
With this kind of stuff, you may get accuracy but very little validity. And the situation may have changed before the poll is even published.
Even if Barrassment puts Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on his ticket, I will still be casting a protest vote against: fraud, cheating, RBC violating their own rules, Michigan, Florida, the DNC selecting their candidate, not counting our votes, injecting racism as an offense, SEXISM and MISOGYNY, the vile media and other testosterone saturated knuckledraggers, the travesty that was the dimocrat convention, the thugs threatening delegates, donna brazile, dean, pelosi, reid, kennedy. And, if Owe’rescrewed puts Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on the ticket, he woudn’t be placing her there because he recognizes her as a stellar hard working individual and politician, nor because she won the primary, nor because she’s intellectually brilliant. Osnortsomeblow would be doing it in oder for him to sit in the Oval office. Completely self-serving.
I will not, can not enable, support, nor reward the undermining of our democratic processes by this, or any, dispicable crew such as the DNC/DP.
the problem with obama is not that he is leans towards the left
if he would have had a clean record, no relations with terrorists, no relations with thugs, accountable work done, and done DEMOCRATICALLY>>>>it would be ok
but his problem are lies + lies, we do not even know the deal with columbia and harvard, with terrorist , thugs, his mafioso style of being elected to office, his alcopne style of politics, I NEVER SEEN ANY GENERAL ELECTION WITH SO MUCH HARASS AS THIS ONE
what he is really doing is a terrorist underground movement
Hi folks:
Although ABC beclowned themselves by chopping up their interview with Sarah Palin, its NBC and MSNBC who show the most egregious bias. I don’t want my news “fair and balanced”, I want it accurate and objective. I have had to be accurate and objective in my job for the past 40 yrs, and I know it can be done if one wants it.
I have been casting around for some way to let GE know how unhappy I am they let the inmates run the network asylum. I have decided to quit buying GE lightbulbs; there are plenty of good alternatives. If enough people did that, GE would get the message.
What do you think?
#682 lilibet on 09.18.08 at 11:15 am
Since they keep comparing Sarah and Obama I am dreaming of a debate between Obama and Sarah. She would do to him what Hillary was able to accomplish.
I wonder if the CHICAGO POLITICAL MACHINE is having a little buyer’s remorse in their selected choice for the President of the U.S.
The trouble is that now that Obama’s camp is losing momentum they are increasing their claim that people who are not for Obama are racist. We know that from the VERY BEGINNING their strategy was to ridicule any remarks contrary to Obama as silly and second strategy was to raise the RACE CARD. Unfortunately, those strategies have in many instances been successful.
Argue with them and get in their face. Yes pretty boy get in our face. How can we trust anything you say. You change your mind on a dime. Public financing anyone, anyone.
Lower taxes on the middle class…Raise taxes on everything else. How will Corporations make up the difference? How long b4 you change your mind on the middle class tax cut. The numbers don’t add up.
Fix the economy…The stimulus check, did not work, NObama’s response…lets issue more stimulus checks when I’m in office.
Iraq timeline…Persuade the Iraqi govt. to delay any reduction until your in office.
Healthcare for 25 million illegals…how will we pay for that? and pay down the deficit at the same time.
Voted present 130 times…we don’t know where he stands on any issues.
Investigate Fannie and Freddie and Lehman…
NObama’s response, we don’t need to do that (I took the most money after Dodd and Biden). Tell me NOBama will you return your share. They need it. Crook.
Biden stated that they will go after Bush for war crimes, etc. How much time, money and energy will we waste doing that?
Oil lobbyist donated to McCain? Check that. Oil lobbyist have donated to Obama as well.
Obama’s energy plan. Research and invest in alternatives. Do nothing else and wait 10 years and hopefully we will be off of OPEC by then. Of course, that only gives Hillary a 2 year start to get us off of OPEC.
Still in my face?
As you can tell, I’m not very energized.
NOBama/NOBiden/November.
665 DeepSouth on 09.18.08 at 11:02 am Does anyone have any info on this debate between BO and McCain? Will they have the questions ahead of time, will BO have his beloved teleprompter? Who is mediating? I certainly hope it isn’t an MSM bot.
Is it all staged? Will there be any impromptu questions?
If anyone can direct me to a site with this info or if you have it I would appreciate it.
Oh..and same thing with the NoBiden Palin debate.
THANK YOU!
bloggers over at cnn ticker were having so much fun about hecklers during Palin’s speech, they were shouting “no more war” supposedly, but something tells me these college students are Obama’s little cheerleaders and are just using that as an excuse…
has obama ever had a heckler, oh yeah i saw one one time, a black guy about something during one of the very limited townhall meetings…something was weird about that as well…well, anyway, hate to see the polls falling to his favor again, but dont you think americans sure are fickle if the change with the wind, i mean , gosh
John McCain Has It Right
Each of the two candidates have their own plan to address the economy. I believe Senator McCain has it right. One only need go to the website of JohnMcCain.com, hit “Issues” at the top of the main site page, go to “Economic Plan”, and one can delve into specific discussions of his plans for job creation, bringing order to our Federal Budget, and government regulation that would be the result of bi-partisan team-work, etc., and doing it now!
Our economy is in desperate need of going in a new direction. With a total national debt of some nine trillion dollars, all America understands we need to go in a new and different direction, and we need to start yesterday. John McCain understands that and agrees.
There are some comments circulating around in certain media that have been rightfully attributed to the position of the Republican Party of the past, and I am delighted these are being brought forward so we all can correct these incorrect views, bring things up to date, and obviously do so immediately. Mr. McCain is doing this now, as he goes further into specifics of his plans, and he is rightfully doing so with intensity.
To continue, I ask readers to start digging into the following source material. There is a lot to go through here; but it’s necessary. Work with me please.
(1)“If You Like Michigan’s Economy, You’ll Love Obama’s”, Phil Gramm and Mike Solon, Wall Street Journal, 9/13/2008
(2)“Obama’s Agenda May Not Add Up”, Peter Nicholas, July 8, 2008, Los Angeles Times
(3)“Shaky Economy Challenges Ambitious Obama Agenda”, Bob Davis and T.W. Farnam, Wall Street Journal, 8/26/2008
(4)“Obama’s Gloomy Big-Government Vision”, Lawrence Kudlow, Real Clear Politics.com, February 15, 2008
(5)“Obama and McCain Have Big Economic Differences”, Martin Crutsinger, AP, 9/8/2008
(6)“Obama’s Altitude Sickness”, Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post, September 12, 2008
I realize I am suggesting a lot of reading. I did it this past weekend.
For all the above reasons in this source material, and many others, I am voting for the Senator John McCain/Governor Sarah Palin ticket at the top, and then for all Democratic Party candidates for Congress.
I feel our Congress in Washington has been doing the absolutely best job they could.
The problem has been the incompetent buffoon at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and now with our economy teetering, Mr. Bush still doesn’t get it. It was his self serving policies and programs involving gross deceit all along the way that he forced down our throats that caused all this.
And you will see from the above references, Mr. Obama doesn’t get it either. He would only make things worse.
John McCain and Sarah Palin do get it, understand our country, know how to work across party lines, and I am convinced they are the best choice at the top of the ticket.
I ask all Americans to agree.
Attention: All GREAT PUMA “Co-Workers”
Great New Book Out: “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso
Before you have your second cup of coffee, you must please go to http://www.amazon.com, and order the great new book just out: “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso. This is a great new book in hardcover for only $15.37 plus shipping (my shipping was only $3.99), and is already at Number 5 on the New York Times bestseller list, hardcover, non-fiction. The book has 290 pages, and covers everything you have heard about, and much more, and all with excellent sources and references.
In fact it is so good, the Obama Camp “arrogants” are coming after it and the author with full “attack” rhetoric. See article in http://www.spectator.org, “The American Spectator” written by Matthew Vadum, dated 9/18/2008, his article titled “Obama Camp Slimes David Freddoso”. This article is also linked and running on http://www.RealClearPolitics.com
For example, in centerfold — black and white glossy photos – you will see a picture of Obama’s house for which he paid $1.65 million, some $300,000 below the list price; and the book covers much of his close relationship with Antoin (Tony) Rezko, who was convicted in June 2008 on sixteen counts of fraud and money-laundering. Mr. Rezko was involved somehow with the purchase of that house and property.
Continuing, across from page 163, under a glossy plate of Michelle Obama, we have the following in quotes: “Michelle Obama’s employer, University of Chicago Hospitals, raised her pay from $121,910 in 2004 to $316,962, two months after her husband became a U.S. Senator. Barack Obama would later request a $1 million federal earmark for her hospital”.
Note: I guess Barack Obama is opposed to Earmarks in general unless of course they benefit himself or his family.
This is an explosive book.
Urge everyone get their copy, and pass the word.
Thank you.
Hello all great PUMAS…
Here is my report for today, Friday 9/19/2008, at 9PM EST
I spent another full day at work, but … I have access to a PC workstation, and I was able to get off some real good postings that are critical.
The following text is what I concentrated on today, and the exact below is running right now in NYTimes.com, under an article by Katharine Seelye, titled “Ringing Untrue, Again and Again”.
My posting is at 1:51 PM September 19, 2008, posting #110
NEW HOT BOOK. “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso. Please read on.
O.K. While we all are checking out what is true, and what is not true; I invite everyone to the brand new book I just finished: “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso.
The infomation in the book is all true. It is all sourced and referenced.
It’s available through amazon.com, in hardcover, 209 pages, and just came out. My price was only $15.37, plus $3.99 for shipping. It has only been out a few weeks and is already at Number Five (5) on the New York Times bestseller list, hardcover, non-fiction.
In fact it is so good, the Obama Camp people are coming after it and the author with full “force” rhetoric. See article in http://www.spectator.org, “The American Spectator” written by Matthew Vadum, dated 9/18/2008, his article titled “Obama Camp Slimes David Freddoso”. Let me add one comment. I intend to split my ticket on November 4th, along with several million more voters. I am voting for McCain/Palin at the top, and all Democratic Party for Congress. Both houses of Congress have been doing the absolute best possible. The problem has been this incompetent President and Vice President we have been stuck with for eight years.
I believe McCain/Palin are the right team to put in there, not Barack Obama.
Common Sense 12
Comment to fellow PUMA co-workers: It’s not easy to get into NYTimes.com. I had to try several re-writes and several different articles to try and tag onto; and finally made it with the above.
Continuing, the same text above is running intact on threads as a tag on two different article sites on WashingtonPost.com, and I’ll get it into Salon.com as soon as I see a good article there I can tag onto. Oh yes, it’s running in Politico.com as of today on some article.
Keep fighting everyone. We’re doing fine.
Comment: the polls are about even now…. except where it counts…. in battleground states…. and we are showing good numbers there. Ohio is looking good, and so is Pennsylvania.
From the “chatter” I see, read, and hear, I think McCain/Palin can pull this off… but we all must fight to the 11th hour. The opposition will.
