UPDATE 9/16/08 AT 10:05am, eastern: BARACK OBAMA CALLING OUT THE SWIFT BOATS. ACCORDING TO JOSH MARSHALL AND NAMED PARTICIPANTS IN AN “URGENT” CONFERENCE CALL AMONG BIG DONC DONORS AND OPERATIVES LATE LAST WEEK, GROUPS ABLE TO PRODUCE “DRASTIC” ATTACK ADS AGAINST MCCAIN/PALIN HAD “GOTTEN THE MESSAGE FROM OBAMA THAT HE DOESN’T WANT SUCH ACTIVITY – [BUT] NOW RECOGNIZE THAT TEAM OBAMA IS PRIVATELY HOPING FOR SUCH EFFORTS TO GEAR UP IN EARNEST.” SO MUCH FOR THE HIGH ROAD, HUH? (NOT THAT MR. PERIODICALLY SWEETIE WAS EVER ON THE HIGH ROAD, BUT, HEY PERCEPTION IS EVERYTHING, AS OBAMA NOW LEARNS TO HIS EVERLASTING SHAME) (h/t to greenfun in comments.)
Today’s polls show a tie in Virginia, and McCain leading Obama in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, and Colorado. Here’s the thing though: Obama’s lead in New Jersey is down to THREE POINTS. New freaking Jersey?? Wow. Remember back on June 5th (BEFORE it was too late; BEFORE Hillary was forced to suspend) when we said that Obama was headed for a LANDSLIDE 50-STATE LOSS? Here’s what we said then:
We must be united against the DNC’s usurpation of the will of Democratic voters. If they appoint Obama as the Democratic nominee, he will lose in a 50-state landslide. Don’t listen to the pundits or the polls. Listen to your own mind, your own common sense, and your own determination to turn this thing around.
All Pumas, please send an email to Howard Dean, chair of the Democratic National Committee right now @ howarddean@dnc.org
Tell him that we are Democrats who will not vote for Barack Obama for president. We will not support a “Unity Ticket” with Hillary Clinton as the vice-president. We will not donate one thin dime to the DNC or any of its affiliate organizations until they wake up, listen to the voices of the voters in ALL 50 states, and start distancing themselves from this disastrous nominee.
Please copy and paste this letter into the body of your email and write “Puma democrat” after your signature so he knows who we are. By August he’ll be ruing the day he ever tried to dismiss our votes and our voices.
Seems like a lifetime ago, doesn’t it? We sure have been consistent. Hey Obama and the DONC! Don’t blame Sarah Palin. We’ve been warning you for months exactly what we intended to do if you continued on your path to destruction. And we WILL do it. Barack Obama will lose on November 4th because he attempted to destroy the strongest candidate our Party has seen in a generation (yes, she IS a stronger candidate than Bill circa 1992) and offended every decent Democrat in the United States with his divisiveness and disdain for the VOTERS.
New Jersey going red?? Sing it, Bruce!

The local Obama campaign called yesterday. I’d just gotten home from work (after having a bad day) and when the guy said he was calling from the Obama headquarters, I cut him off and said in a rather nasty voice “Don’t EVEN bother!” To which he hurriedly replied OK and quickly hung up. I don’t think he wanted to go further than that…
do you think we are doing it? I am sendding emails and talking alot to everyone I can! and I signed up to work polls here and work for Mccain/Palin!

Poll shows Obama’s lead in NY at 5 points
By The Associated Press – 23 hours ago
THE POLL: The Siena Research Institute, presidential race in New York of likely voters.
THE NUMBERS: Barack Obama 46 percent, John McCain 41 percent.
OF INTEREST: The lead is down from 18 points in June, when Obama led 51-33 percent over McCain in a Siena poll. New York, home of Obama’s main primary opponent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, is solidly Democratic, with 5.5 million registered Democrats and 2.9 million registered Republicans. The state has 31 electoral votes.

Almost twice as many Democrats in New York than Republicans. And those are real, true-blue Puma Democrats. They are BASE of the Dem Party– not youngsters or limousine liberals who dabble in politics like they dabble at downhill skiing and vegetarianism. They are US.

Obama camp is so stupid, how they keep harping about McCain and emails.
Meanwhile, supposedly Bill and Hillary Clinton don’t use the internet.
Bill Clinton wrote his tome of an autobiography “My Life” BY HAND…he wrote it out on paper! It took many notebooks, but he did it.
So, the O camp may or may not know it, but they are also insulting the Clinton’s and about 20% of voters who do not use the internet.
(stupid Odohs)

Hope today is better.
Good Morning PUMA
My best friend is living in New Jersey but work in NY, she’s a big Hillary supporter voting for McCain/Palin ticket. Her daughter too is voting for McCain/Palin - the young woman was a former koolaid drinker.
Good morning!

Don’t it make Obama’s brown eyes
Don’t it make Obama’s brown eyes……blue
Don’t Obama make the blue states
Don’t Obama make the blue states
Don’t Obama make the blue states……………… red!

I’m clinging to my Bible and praying it continues all the way til November 4th. AMEN!!!

my daughter in law was a rabid supporter of oblahblah..but I just kept talking..and she finally started looking on her own and she says she cannpt believe how mislead she was! she said his speeches always sound so good but he never said anything! And she has been talking to HER mom and sister, too! they are all taking a second look!
Of course, we are having an impact. Murphy this is all thanks to you. I know everyone here was as devastated as I was when Hillary stepped out of the race. I cried. Then I got mad. Then I decided to get even. I am tired of being treated like as a woman that I am stupid and should not open my mouth. Well, the good Lord didn’t make me that way, he gave me a voice, a mouth to use it with, and the stubborness to carry a plan out. That’s why I am a PUMA!!!

NObama NEVER experience against a strong Republican candidate in Chicago. Alan Keyes was the opponent of NObama in Chicago for US Senate. Alan Keyes was forced to ran in Chicago (he was from Maryland) because Nobama’s opponent was involved in messy divorce and investigation. He won the election easily. We know the story of Alice Palmer.
His theme now is changing; from “change we can believe in” to “believers for Obama,” sounds very cultish to me, reminds me of David Koresh, the whacko from Waco, Texas. Even here in my state (Washington) NObama is losing steam, its now turning light blue like New Jersey. My radical state is usually very solid blue, not this year.
all Mass voters go to vote Kerry out.!! Will make a big difference. When is Pelosi’s??

“The call was organized to let donors know that things are pretty serious and that if something is going to happen, it needs to happen fast,” Dem operative Mike Lux, president of the Dem firm Progressive Strategies and one of the call’s organizers, tells me.
“The message was that it’s pretty damn urgent,” continued Lux, who played a key role in raising money for outside groups in 2004. “We said we think that dramatic things need to happen.”
Let’s see….. Biden tells a crippled man to stand.
Obama expects McCain, an injured vet….. to type on a keyboard.
I guess these two men have NO understanding or compassion to the disabled Americans.
An oversight of a crippled man in a wheel chair.
An oversight of a disabled veteran, McCain, unable to use his fingers to type just proves how out of touch these two men really are.

The Neocons’ Palin Project
By Patrick J. Buchanan
Will the neocons who tutored George W. Bush in the ideology he pursued to the ruin of his presidency do the same for Sarah Palin?
Should they succeed, they will destroy her. Yet, they are moving even now to capture this princess of the right and hope of the party.
In St. Paul, Palin was told to cancel a meeting with Phyllis Schlafly and pro-life conservatives. McCain’s operatives said Palin had to rest for her Wednesday convention speech.
Yet, on Tuesday, Palin was behind closed doors with Joe Lieberman and officials of the Israeli lobby AIPAC. There, according to The Washington Post, Palin took and passed her oral exams.
“Palin assured the group of her strong support for Israel, of her desire to see the United States move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and of her opposition to Iran’s aspirations to become a
nuclear power, according to sources familiar with the meeting.”
AIPAC’s mission, like that of Likud, is to goad America into launching air and missile strikes on any and all Iranian nuclear facilities.
AIPAC went away happy. Purred spokesman Josh Block, “We were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep personal commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel.”
Heading home to Alaska to prepare for her interview with Charlie Gibson, Palin was escorted by Randy Scheunemann, McCain’s foreign policy guru and, until March, a hired agent of the Tbilisi regime.
Scheunemann’s lobbying assignment: Bring Georgia into NATO, so U.S. troops, like 19-year-old Track Palin, will be required to fight Russia to defend a Saakashvili regime that has paid Randy and his partner $730,000.
Reportedly, a phone conversation was held between Saakashvili and Palin, in which Palin committed herself to the territorial integrity of Georgia, though South Ossetia and Abkhazia have declared independence and been recognized by Moscow, which now has troops in both.
Also on Palin’s plane was Steve Biegun, formerly of Bush’s National Security Council, and Scheunemann’s choice to tutor her. Of Biegun, Steven Clemens of the New American Foundation says, “He will turn
her into an advocate of Cheneyism and Cheney’s view of national security issues.”
During her interview with Gibson, Palin often took a neocon line. Three times she said that, should Israel decide to attack Iran, the United States should not “second guess” Israel’s decision or interfere.
This contradicts U.S. policy. Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the joint chiefs, has warned Israel not to attack Iran, as the United States does not want a “third front.” And the Pentagon is withholding crucial weapons the Israelis want and need to carry out any such attack.
Palin also volunteered that the Russian invasion was “unprovoked,” though Georgia attacked South Ossetia first. She followed up by saying that Georgia and Ukraine should be brought into NATO.
Would that mean America would have to go to war with Russia on behalf of Georgia in any new conflict, asked Gibson.
“Perhaps so,” said Palin.
Scheunemann should get a fat severance check from Saakashvili for that one.
One ex-White House aide at American Enterprise Institute, asked by Tim Shipman of the Daily Telegraph if AEI sees Palin as a “project,” replied: “Your word, not mine. … But I wouldn’t disagree with the sentiment. … She’s bright, and she’s a blank page. She’s going places, and it’s worth going there with her.”
In fairness to Palin, on issues like NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia, her answers reflect the views of the man who chose her. She has no option at present but to follow the line laid down by Scheunemann.
But make no mistake. Sarah Palin is no neocon. She did not come by her beliefs by studying Leo Strauss. She is a traditionalist whose values are those of family, faith, community and country, not some utopian ideology.
Wasilla, Alaska, is not a natural habitat of neoconservatives.
And her unrehearsed answers to Gibson’s questions reveal her natural conservatism. Asked if she agrees with the Bush Doctrine, Palin asked for clarification. “In what respect, Charlie?”
Gibson: “Do we have the right of an anticipatory self-defense?”
Yes, said Palin, “if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against (the) American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.”
Exactly. The intelligence must be legit and the threat “imminent.”
Interviewed by Alaska Business Monthly in March 2007 on the surge, Palin said, “I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place.”
That is not the language of empire or “benevolent global hegemony.”
Palin may disappoint many conservatives in the next seven weeks by having to parrot the McCain-neocon line on NATO expansion, NAFTA and a “path to citizenship” for illegal aliens. But the battle for
Sarah’s soul is not over.
For, again, the lady is no neocon. Nor is the husband Todd, First Dude of Alaska and former member of the “Alaska First” Independence Party.
Can you imagine a little 5 years old hugging his playmate and can be accuse of touching his playmate the wrong way. Where are we going to draw the line? It would be horrible a little child of being accuse doing something inappropriately. Children are very affectionate especially towards their playmates of the same age.
Hillary trounced BO in NJ. The only places he won were Newark and some fancy pants exurbs where Big Pharma resides. There are plenty of blue-collar Hillary voters in North Jersey that McCain/Palin can grab. At the very least, it would cause Nobama to spend tons of money on expensive TV ads in NYC.

As long as PUMAS and friends keeping chipping away at that shiny veneer thus exposing to everyone the nothingness underneath the suit, we will be rejoicing on November 5th perhaps about 3:00AM.
I TOLD YOU SO
Do we need to do a follow-up Prowl on the Logan Act?
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.
“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview.
As Murphy so well put it - Rasmussen today shows that McCain has a one point lead nationally over Obam -
and Colorado McCain - 48-46 - Florida 49-44 for McCain
Ohio is 48-45 for Mc - Penna and Va both a tie -
Letters to the editors of these states necessary -
I am starting to dedicate energy where it is known that it will be a close race as the above to include Indiana and Michigan and I guess even New Jersey -
Obam from polls of all polls shows a significant lead in Delaware - 3 Electorial Vote - Vermont - 3 Electorial Votes - Maine - 4 Electorial Votes - Hawaii - 4 Electorial Votes - Rhode Island - 4 Electorial Votes - but the biggies are Illinois 21 Votes - Massachusetts 12 Votes, California 55 Votes - New York 31 Votes - Maryland 10 Vote -
As in the caucus in the primaries - if we direct our attention to those States with the highest amount of electorial votes - this could be pulled away from Obam - of the 5 States today - at least the men got it right in their polls - they do not want Obam - we need to work on the women in Penna who are supporting Obam.
Don’t forget New frigging York - only 5 points lead!
Hillary was asked her opinion about Obamas VP mistake

The Sarah Palin Phenomenon Is Doomed
This is how the world works in the age of 24/7 news cycles. Whether the subject is Britney Spears, Michael Jordan or Sarah Palin, we inevitably raise stars to mythic levels, out of all reasonable proportions. Then we knock them down. (Look out, Michael Phelps. Your time is coming, too.)

This morning on TODAY McCain was on talking with them about the economy crisis…but Obama didn’t have time to show up so he sent his angry attack-dog Biden to go against McCain…LOL…LOL….well maybe the O-boi was too tired and had to sleep in or too stupid and scared to be up against McCain……..I think both are the case.
Who’s running against whom?…It seems that it’s McCain vs Biden and Palin vs Obama………So who is the Dem Presidential candidate anyway?…LOL

Morning PUMAS!! Is that victory that I am smelling so strong in Nov!?!?!
Was on Real Clear Politics and read this, Here are a few excerpts that I thought would bring a smile to PUMAS!
Tucker’s a card, but you can’t argue that a McCain win, for liberals, will be the political equivalent of Black Friday back in 1929.
Tom Bevan, co-founder of Real Clear Politics, was succinct: “Two words: Hari Kari. The base of the [Democratic] party is so vested in its nominee…that to lose in November would be one of the most demoralizing in the modern era.”

I think this may be right. The Sarah Palin Phenomenon Is Doomed
—————————————————–
Hopefully there is not enough time for this to happen with the election being so close. I think the MSM will keep her going longer due to BO being such a ’sensation’ for so long, kinda riding his media coat tails. Its about the $$. The repubs are making her ‘hard to get’ to with the media. So it should keep the focus on her. It always surprized me how long Bo was in the limelight.

NObama has a problem not just with conservative and moderate democrats, he also has a problem with extreme leftwingnuts; when he VOTED FOR FISA which he promised he would vote against, they withdraw their support from him. You would see a lot of extreme leftwingers voting for Nader this election.
NObama do not have the support of the base of the democratic party which is US, he relies on AA and independent voters, the problem with independent voters they prefer McCain over him, great example of that was New Hampshire last primary.

A section? When a website includes anything Obama, the entire website becomes the idiot section.
PS I like the layout and information in your website.
Asian4Hillary #68. exactly right. That’s why I call us the ones no one was expecting.
Obama and the DONC’s strategy was that once he had been selected as the nominee he would be FORCED to tack right in order to pick up Independents and disaffected Republicans. In so doing he would necessarily lose a small but still significant number of far-left voters. What was SUPPOSED to happen was all of us so-called “Hillary supporters” would rush back in at Obama’s hour of need to staunch the flow of the left-wing exodus. They expected us to fall in line; to be cowered by the Roe bat; and to fill in the left-wing gaps he would need to make to appeal to centrist voters in Swing States.
oops. They NEVER expected us to do what we are doing.
Remember one of our favorite Ghandi quotes from the early days:
“First they ignore you; then they ridicule you; then they attack you; then you win.” ?
They ignored us in June; Ridiculed us in July; Attacked us in August. and
WE WIN IN SEPTEMBER.

So far so good, but it’s only 10:48am…it cheered me to see so many states turning RED…listening to the news -ABC, CBS, NBC you get quite a different picture…
Murphy
In my state, the shift is truly amazing; in the middle of primary election all you can hear people talk about how great is NObama. After the primary there was dead silence, people doesn’t want to talk about him anymore. It was his vote for FISA, an ultimate BETRAYAL for those that supported him during primary in this state. When I had my small party, the biggest axe they have against NObama was FISA. People in Washington State are very particular about their right to privacy like people in Alaska. Before Palin come into the picture change have taken place, now its getting deeper with Palin as VP pick of McCain. There’s probability McCain will carry Washington State in general election, Alaska and Washington are sister state.
Morning all,
#34 Caracal Carrie Site looks great I love and wiil be spreading it around.
I spent last night and this morning debating the obots. I can tell anyone here that they are out in as a force I haven’t seen since before the odnc convention
They are really really sweating now.
Way to go PUMAS !!!
I’m one of those Democrats that don’t pay much attention to polls. I saw polls putting Obama ahead in North Carolina by three points. I live there and know better. In my District there are only about three people saying they will vote for Obama. This goes back three or four months, yet the polls kept showing Obama ahead. I think McCain is ahead in all states (not showing that much in polls). I have friends and relatives in many states and the majority is solid behind McCain, that was before he chose Palin as VP. People I talk to love Palin mostly because she is a Washington outsider, intelligent, not especially controlled by any party, experienced in what counts. I think people all over the country are starting to wake up to what Obama is, and the influence Pelosi will have on him if he is elected. At least, that’s what people are saying to me. They seem to fear Pelosi as much as they do Obama. The media is still desperately trying to spin Obama but having a harder and harder time doing it.
56 vadaryl
You know in any other situation I would agree. However, we are dealing with Carpathia here. Every time he makes a sexist remark it will strengthen PAlin and put her backm in the spotlight.
Considering he and his cronies rely on sexism as a weapon, we will see the Palin factor all the way through the general. Imho anyway.
#47bobram and MURPHY: I think your idea is excellent..very pragmatic..How do we do that?
I thought some of y’all might be interested in this: Why I Agree with Sarah Palin on Abstinence Education
#37 you bring up a point I was thinking of. I wish there could be ads out showing Biden saying that to the handicapped vet; and then a clip of the ad against McCain with the newpaper clipping of why he can’t type. Then end with something like “Obama-Biden: not respectful of those who were handicapped defending our country. Do you really want them as commander in chief?” By the way, did any of you see Hannity on tv last night with the lady who survived a botched abortion? Wow. I wish I could’ve seen that whole ad she’s in, find out who put out that ad, and where it’s being shown. That is one POWERFUL idea. I may be wrong here, but I think even those who are prochoice would be aghast at the idea of letting a baby who is out of the womb, and survived the abortion, should just suffer and die alone of neglect.
The difference between McCain and NObama is this:
NObama = A warm soothing cup of chocolate you sip as you sit dreaming in front of a fire on a cold winters day.
McCain = That cup of coffee you drink in the morning to wake you up and face your day.

RIGHT ON!
Just want you all to know I’m working hard to flip NJ Red. I wanna see Obama get crushed. When first I saw him four years ago, I thought smooth talker… no substance.
I’m an independent, but I admire the way PUMAs are working hard for honesty in politics. Most of you may be Democrats, but I think you are also having a big impact on the Republicans. I look to a future of better, more capable, more honest politicians on both sides. Politicians that actually listen to those that they serve. PUMAs are helping make that possible.
Thank you.

mmmmm - french market coffee….. yummy
The CBS article about the waning of Sarah Palin’s star said one thing I totally disagree with:
“Gibson, as dignified a newsperson as America has now, treated Palin fairly and didn’t resort to hectoring her with “gotcha” questions, either.”
That’s bull, because in most every other interview I’ve seen, the interviewer always explains what the Bush doctrine is (for example) so that the viewers know what they are talking about. Gibson purosefully didn’t do that in order to make Palin look like she didn’t know what he was talking about.

I love your coffee in Lousiana, my Aunt living in New Orleans sent me a can one time. It was fantastic! Although Starbucks originated from my state, I consider it overrated. I bought 2lbs of Starbucks coffee beans one time and send it to my brother in Ireland, he heard a lot about it. When he received the package, and try his first cup of starbucks, he called me right away. I’ve never heard the man cuss like crazy about coffee until he had starbucks……hahahaha!
hey prplevette, how’s the grandkids??
sry I’ll go check,

#56 VADARYL I’m a little concerned about that to. Have you seen my post #41 above? No one has commented on that but we should be concerned about it. I like Sarah just as she is, I don’t want Washington politics getting to her, she is a breath of fresh air and speaks her mind. I hope she doesn’t get so scripted that we lose who she really is.
Thanks Murphy, they are great! Still wearing their Puma buttons and shirts proudly! They even tell people WHY they are Puma’s
#79 You seem to stick out like a sore thumb…this is not an anti abortion site!
Well Murphy and Pumas sue me but I will not give this a pass. You can put me in moderation and address the #79 post. I was not feeling secure when “Karen” wanted our NUMBERS!

Oh, I forgot to report on the “good news”, last night at work CNN was on (between 8 - 9 p.m.) with a panel of four men and are you ready for this…
They are going to have to start reporting on *61…the real *61! They said they are going to tell him that they will not be covering him like before; not give his “stops” the coverage that they have if *61 will not allow them to interview him without being scripted! They will not be accepting *61’s “talking points for their people when they interview or cover him.”
They said the American people need to know the “real” *61 and all about his past!
What a great day today is!! We need to keep up sending e-mails to the networks so they really do keep their words.
NO WAY NO HOW NOBAMA…NOW OR EVER!
I know this has been posted before but, I’ll put it here for anyone that wants it.
Keep spreading it.
Charlie Gibson interviewed Obama and Palin. Below are the questions. Who do you think is being vetted and who is the media hiding and treating with kid gloves?
Obama interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to %u201Cwin%u201D?
How does your family feel about your %u201Cwinning%u201D breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor%u2019s [Clinton] speech?
Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you%u2019re seeking?
Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren%u2019t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]
The more we keep Sarah in the spotlight the less “celebrity’ 61 has. Take that away and the people will see the empty suit.
#93Asian4Hillary: So glad you do! Do you remember the brand she sent? Probably French Market, CDM, or Luzianne..Does your aunt still live here?
Do you know how chicory in coffee got to be a tradition here?
After the War Between the States, coffee like so much else was unavailable, so people started drying things like chicory, even sweet potatoes to make mixes of faux coffee to drink…When coffee became available long after, a shot of chicory was added because it does in fact add a bite and zap up the coffee flavor! And people had come to like the zap.
Love that coffee and chicory!

Hi everybody,
I’m back at work after not feeling well yesterday, I hope all PUMA’s looking for jobs find the job of their dreams this month or next. Remember Sept & Oct are good job-searching & job-finding months so I have my fingers crossed for all PUMA’s out there going to job interviews.
And yes our economy is one thing Hillary could have fixed up for sure. Is Hillary on Good Morning America right now? Please post about her interview so I can check back later.

Goodmorning #234 ladyhawkke,
This is in response to what you posted downstairs.
To keep things balanced, here’s some opposing viewpoints on the ANWR issue.
“Given the phenomenal national press coverage focused on the Gwich’in Indian ANWR position, the uninformed can only assume they live at ground zero on ANWR’s coastal plain and that their lives and cultures would be destroyed by any development there. To the contrary, the coastal plain is home only to the Inupiat Eskimos of the City of Kaktovik, population 260, who support development.
George Tagarook, Kaktovik’s vice-mayor since October 2001, eloquently explains how this issue has been misrepresented in his article entitled ANWR Reality Lies Far North of Gwich’in. In Kaktovik, a community survey (January 2000) showed 78% of residents supported ANWR development. For background, a history of the coastal plain is given in Alaskan Natives Support Development, and Tara MacLean Sweeney explains how the Inupiats’ views have been ignored in the ANWR debate.”

“also not to drill in ANWR. I am totally against drilling there. Most people don’t realize the daily destruction that takes place and to say it is a tiny area and won’t be impacted is not true. The area they are speaking about, as has been stated before by BlueJay, is home to the Gwich’in indians. The indians are fighting to save their land and the key migration paths of the caribou. I signed my letter and then hand-printed P.U.M.A. to he side. I posted my letter to him yesterday. Please take a look at the website to see for yourself.”

Goodmorning Susie1945, in response to #294 post from downstairs, …
you and others may find this article from National Review a good read …
“What Was Feminism?
The media treatment of Sarah Palin reveals four ugly truths about the new feminism.
By Victor Davis Hanson
The media went hysterical over Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska and Republican nominee for vice president. She may have appeared to the public as an independent, capable professional woman, but to a particular elite she couldn’t possibly be a real feminist or even a serious candidate. And that raises questions about what is — and what is not — feminism.”

Good morning Pumas,
On my way out the door again this morning but just wanted to remind Massachusetts Pumas to get out and vote for Ed O’Reilly today in your Democratic Primary. Let’s send John Kerry home for good!
Good luck, Ed! I’ll be rooting for you.
HP Boston #98, Howdy Neighbor!
Why on earth would we sue you??
You are right. this is not an ant-abortion site. Puma PAC is 100% committed to reproductive freedom, just like Hillary Clinton.
Medical horror stories are ghastly. They inflame our emotions. Stories of unlikely survival inflame our empathy and admiration. How could they not??
However, we are rational, thinking citizens who know that the era of forced pregnancy is long gone. No woman, republican or democrat, is going back to those dark ages.
Sarah Palin can claim to be pro-life, anti-abortion whatever, all she wants. The cold, hard fact is that she has reaped ALL the benefits of reproductive choice and MADE THE CHOICE to give birth five times.
The anti-abortion argument has become incoherent. Every woman of child-bearing age in America today entered her child-bearing years AFTER THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL AND AFTER ROE v WADE. It is NONSENSE for any woman to claim to NOT BE pro-choice. It’s like an American MIT professor living in LEXINGTON MASSACHUSETTS (avg home price $800,000) (yes, I’m looking at you Noam Chomsky) claiming to be an anarchist. hogwash.
If you claim to be an anarchist and you’re not living in Darfur right now, I’m not buying it.
If you claim to be an anti-choice woman and you’re not living on the FLDS Farm right now or in Uganda, I’m not buying it.
antifish! how the heck are ya?
#112Asian4Hillary: That would be CDM (abbreviation for Cafe Du Monde, the place in the quarter by the river in front of Jackson Square where you can get beignets.)
Yes, Metairie, it is right next to the city limits of New Orleans: pronounced Met-tree. Sounds like they are selling CDM as a gourmet type coffee given the price, which it is , but not here, because almost everything here is considered gourmet somewhere else…
Where are you located?
Doing great, Murphy.
Gotta go grocery shopping. Check back in later.
NEW ORLEANS PUMA - thanks for noticing my post -what I will be working on this week is exactly what I posted earlier - those states where polls show McCain ahead by double digits or high single digits -hopefully will remain - Idaho, Wyoming, Ga, Ky, W. Va, Nebraska, S. Dak. Arizona, Miss, Utah Kansas - those States that are key for McCain to get the electoral votes - Va Co Mich, Penna, Fl, Ohio need action - by that go to http://www.usnpl.com or http://www.publishaletter.com and write your heart out to the editors - or as I do - go to the individual newspaper on line - look for political articles about either candidate - sign up to post on their site and post away - did that for Hillary during the primaries - and its amazing how much you get to the public that way - of course you will have to go against the OBOTS - but still there will be people listening to what you have to say.
Its all about electoral votes now - if we can not turn the big states of California and New York, Illinois and Massachusetts - will have to make it up elsewhere -
Anyway - I am going to do extensive research on the STATES that he has to win the electoral votes and publish it later on this week.

who cares if CNN choses to do its job, now. I don’t. CNN should have taken care of things earlier. The people who watch CNN are all already in the tank for Obama and it won’t matter whether or not CNN spends 5,10, 15, or 20 minutes a day covering “the real” Obama. CNN went after the Clintons and EVERY SINGLE CLINTON VOTER EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I’ve been called a racist enough by CNN and Campbell Brown and Donna Brazile that I don’t think they’ll actually do sh-t with any of those people on there.
Oh, Just one thing I wanted to thank DanceswithPumas publically for sending me the pictures of my grand daughters and I at Puma HQ, they are wearing the shirts Murphy gave them. I can’t believe you stabbed Murphy in the heart by starting your own blog.
September 16, 2008 10:42 AM
First of all, my “Blog” is to post what I want to address and be able to piss and moan about! It is no way stabbing Murphy in the heart! Murphy is a big girl and if she has a problem with it she know’s who I am and can speak for herself! I am not out to “STEAL PUMA’sfrom this blog! And as I responded to you, since you are not woman/man enough to say who you are, last time I checked, this is a “FREE COUNTRY!”
To whoever commented, you are a ridiculous twit! Don’t like my blog? Then don’t read it!
Murphy, if you have an issue with me, or not, starting my “own” blog, please set this straight here. I’m sorry I have to even address such a “STUPID” issue! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re my #79 post earlier….. I was not talking anti abortion. I was talking about the “born alive” law that almost very dem in congress voted FOR including Pelosi… to protect a baby who had survived an abortion. This same law was one (identical to the one congress passed almost unanimously) that Obama voted against in IL. This was what that ad was talking about… that law that Obama voted against, and ALMOST everyone in congress voted for. In defense of my post, I am not sure why I am being attacked as being against abortion, when this is (as I stated in post #79) something that almost everybody in congress whether prochoice OR prolife saw as a good law and Obama saw as a bad one. Please explain why I am being accused of sticking out like a sore thumb and being anti abortion for saying something like this?
#141 Beca4Hillary Yes I did. Did you get my reply?

I am not someone who has ever idolized movie stars, rock stars, etc (or liars), but I was a fan of Bruce Springsteen. I love his lyrics, like his commitment to working class ideals, and down-home attitude even as a star. However, he has gone over to the other side with BO, and I have to “wipe that man right out of my hair”.
Regarding voter fraud, as I mentioned a couple of days ago, I received an absentee ballot application although I didn’t request it. I am a life-long Dem, have lived in this house for 42 yrs. and I have never asked for nor have I been sent one. It made me wonder if someone had marked my poll information, sent me the application, and knowing that I wouldn’t respond to it, sent one in for me, having my ballot mailed to Tim-buk-to, OH. Yesterday I called my election board and inquired about my voting status, I was assured that nothing says I’m an absentee voter and that they have procedures in place to prevent my voting twice!!! Well. I want to make sure that when I vote in person at my regular polling place that there is no question which vote I want to count. Also, I asked what I could do to make sure that they have it on record that if an application shows up in my name, that it is fraudulent. The lady I talked to said I was being paranoid, but I said I have every reason to be paranoid this year. Her answer was that I should call the Dem. Party. Yikes, ask the fox if my vote is safe. I asked her for the Republican party number. Called them and they were also “paranoid”, said that they would have the party chairman get right on it, and make sure that my and others are not being scammed out of their votes. The ballots do not go out until about 3 weeks before the election, so I plan to call my election board back and make sure that I’ve still got my vote.
By the way, the election board told me that they did not send out that absentee ballot, that it came from a Dem. campaign,

Good for you starting your own blog! I have often thought it would be good to have an extra place to go sometimes to be able to caps locks scream out my opinion.

Also, if one were to look at JSND, you will find a host of sites and I am willing to bet that not all “PUMA-like” sites are there ! Many if us float between a few sites. She was not an advocate for anti- abortion in her above post. She was absolutely right, in my opinion, about the young lady who was on FOX yesterday. That young lady survived an abortion and if the doctor had been present she would have been left to die of worse could have been suffocated. In the doctor’s absence the nurse called 9-1-1 and the hospital saved the infant.
I’m not anti-abortion either,nor am I pro-abortion.

I used to enjoy Barry Horomitz’s music too. Aka bruce springsteen. That was until the “We are the World ” video was made.
Barry showed up in his limo and complained, along with others that the shoot wasn’t catered. Almost wound up being canceled over that until the producer asked the complainers how they would feel when the story broke.
If you remeber those days it mightb come to mind how many othe people in the video suddenly disappeared from the fund raising efforts after that. “The Boss” being just one who suddenly had other “commitments”.
Bruce is and has always been a fraud imho.
wow snow… I didn’t know that…losing so many heros this year..
Morning PUMAs!
Please let me know if you tried to contact either the DNC or your state Democratic office and requested a list of how your Clinton Democrats voted at the convention, and what the results were even if you were turned down.
I am trying to gather info on what was told to the voters that requested these results and if anyone was successful in getting the info.
thanks Carrie and Snow! and just like I said a true PUMA would NEVER!!!!

#159. Hi NewOrleans. Yup, I know you from elsewhere. Were you aware that I had to change my “handle” there from KarenWI, and changed it to MacPalin? LOL… With all the trollfests in there lately I didn’t mind too much because it probably was best that I didn’t show I was female, LOL (just as Pammie used “Joe” for awhile). I’m not all riled up…. it’s ok. I just was taken by surprise when there was such a strong negative reaction to that post, that’s all. You know me…. I’m not a quitter.
If I have anything to do with it, NEW JERSEY WILL BE A RED STATE REAL SOON!!!!
#163 Caracal Carrie
I’ve often told people that hllywood “liberals” are no suchthing. Thye really have no political afiliation and spout the leftist line because it makes easy sound bites. There a few of course who know what they are talking about but, for the most part they are just self serving con artists.
Did you know that their are business’s that research what causes a cerrtaain celebrity should support? Based on their fan base? These companies are in constant demand in hollyweird.
What a joke.
#42 Asian-
That has already happened, I don’t remember where, but a K or 1st grader kissed a girl in his class and was suspended.
Good grief, I have 3 sons, and it was always the girls who chased them, even in pre-school. I should have had them arrested!!
MA is voting today? What? A primary? We just had ours in WI last week. It took most everybody here by surprise because it wasn’t publicized at ALL. Suddenly the sample ballot shows up in the paper the night before and everybody was taken off guard. Voter turnout was REALLY low as a result unfortunately.
170 SouthJerseyPUMA,
Thanks, do you sell those t-shirts?
Thank you Murphy~ you know I love you! and that was never an intention by me~ I know you know that! I will send you an email~ now GO VOTE!!!!!! xoxo

Re: Senator Obama’s violation of THE LOGAN ACT*
Dear Senate Ethics Committee:
I am again writing to ask you to conduct an investigation into Senator Barak Obama for possible violations of the Logan Act.
(1) During his trip to the Middle East, as well as conduct unbecoming a United States Senator for his political campaigning in foreign countries.
If Obama’s trip to Israel was official fact-finding and not campaigning, why do Obama supporters there have large official Obama campaign banners up? Please see the following link showing Obama support
