Yup.

What a crying shame. Barack Obama will be remembered as the politician who turned the blue states RED this year. Howard, Nancy, and Harry, it’s time to GO. For the sake of unity in our Party; for the sake of your own personal dignity and integrity, it is TIME TO GO.

You treated the Puma Movement as a bunch of bitter Cassandras and now the disaster we’ve been predicting since April is exploding in your faces. You may be able to deny it for the next 50 days, but on November 5th you’ll be getting a visit from the Payback Fairy.

And she’ll be wearing a pantsuit.

You’re right on that one, their internal polling in New York is worse than polls being done by pollsters.

Take for example Washington State, Nobama is dropping from the poll, Washington State is full of radicals. Kerry was double digit ahead here all the way to November. NObama now is only +2. I haven’t seen anyone walking around here wearing Nobama t-shirt, no NObama signs I can see, no NObama stickers on vehicles. People in my state don’t like it when politicians flipflops like salmon out of water. Washington State is sister state of Alaska.

I know how “well DUH” this is going to sound but the most I’ve seen here in Arizona is a few BHO Bumper stickers (Which have promptly gotten PUMA cards placed on them I might add :) ). I see a helluvalot of McCain signs though. I’ll be adding one more to that soon.

North and South Carolina is solid for McCain.

There goes the 50 state strategy of NObama. When November 5 comes states of the Union will be wearing RED LIPSTICK ……..POETIC JUSTICE

Good evening all!

Just wanted to comment on Dem4Hillary downstairs saying some interesting things about Republicans. I may not support the Republican party or platform but that doesn’t mean people I know, who are Republicans are hateful people. Judging individuals instead of the issues (unless they are one and the same, as nobo is), just doesn’t seem fair to me. I try to judge individuals as just that. For those I don’t know but reflect as negative individuals, I just try and stay away from (i.e. many bots).

Just my feelings and experience.

I’d die of shock if Arizona went to BHO. I think the day that happens is the day hell freezes over. It’s one reason I was so surprised when Napolitano came out and endorsed BHO. But I take great pleasure in noting that her approval rating here has PLUMMETTED since the primary here. :)

I’m certainly not standing up for the money that has been put into politics in the last 20 years but for goodness sakes, let’s all look at this with our eyes wide open. the Democrats have not gotten padded pockets at the expense of the republicans.

Palin was in Colorado today, campaigning alone….can you believe it there are democrats attended her rally and declared they’re for Republican this year?

I can see Dean, NObama, Pelosi and Reid screaming with all kind of invectives. Nancy Pelosi need another botox, her face is about to fall on her lap…..hahahahaha!

#46 LotusBoy on 09.16.08 at 12:08 am

#33 007girl – Relax! This is the awareness part that is just scratching the surface. I think 3M gives a lot to Repubs too. This boycott movement at the very least will make advertisers aware of people reaction to negative publicity / smear tactics and partisan opinions.
When Kobe Bryant was accused Nike and all others fled him and took shelter in other NBA stars. This will be the recourse that some sponsors will take. People & common public do not know the manufacturer behind Arm and Hammer (Church and Dwight) or that Skintimate is by a privately owned WI company for example. This movement will spur them to be aware of companies. Companies have what they call “Social Responsibility”. In the long run this will be added to their long list of Social Responsibility.

#51 Dem4Hillary on 09.16.08 at 12:09 am

okay, it’s midnight. I have a ton of work still to do and my phone is beeping at me to give it some juice.

My whole point, tonight is to not believe every flipping thing somebody tells you just because they can put it in a passionate discourse that sounds knowledgeable. just as with the woman who is running for re-election in Texas, it was her GE (general election) not a primary even though some thought and repeated that obama was after her in a primary.

I will say the Democrats are as heavily into corporate contributions as the Republicans. But, for GOODNESS SAKES the Republicans are not little angels that have been irreprably harmed by those evil Democrats. We just have a wing of the Democratic Party that we need to reform and we have a lot of work.

#52 Godzilla on 09.16.08 at 12:11 am

#54 Grizzly on 09.16.08 at 12:11 am

Hello PUMAS!

I suppose it is OK to get back into the fray here. I chose to bow out after receiving an admonition on a link I posted that showed another Palin attack ad. I chose to withdraw rather than to make an issue out of it. First, being new here, I was not familiar with who the admins were and were not, and unsure of the protocol here. As guest here, the last thing I wanted to do was to sidetrack the incredible momentum built literally from the grass roots. Second, I consider myself to be an independent. I understand that PUMA’s were originally all democrats, and suffice it to say democrats with whom I have had contact with during this election cycle have been less than cordial. In fact, I have had longtime friends , or people that I had previously considered to be friends, rip into me without any provocation at the slightest hint of dissent from their views. I certainly had no desire to repeat that experience on a public forum.

I finally got the chance to go back and read some of the comments following my last post, and I was pleased to see that I was very, very, wrong. I want to thank the folks here for those kind comments, and thank Murphy, et al, for their dedication, passion and openness here. When I am wrong, I will be the first to admit it.

One more point is probably worthy of clarification. “Grizzly” is a poppa bear, not a momma bear. And I am not and have never been accused of being a “beta” male. I am firm in my beliefs and principles, and attempt at all costs to be objective and intellectually honest in my views. I spent 20 years in one of the world’s greatest institutions of equal opportunity – the US Army and US Army Reserves. Contrary to some of the conventional wisdom, strong men are not intimidated by strong women. Those of us who are comfortable with who we are fully understand the concepts of equality and justice, and deeply embrace those principles as part of our character. Notions of fairness and honesty are not a threat to those of us who practice what we preach. I trust that the revelation that I possess mismatched chromosomes will not change anyone’s opinion of me.

I was first drawn here by a common concern – Barak Obama. Once here, I recognized this is about much more than this election. People like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin represent what CAN be. Those things my grandmother dared not think; those things my mother dared not speak; those things my dear wife dared not pursue; and those things I promised both of my daughters over 20 years ago as I held them for the first time- that theirs would be a world where they could do and be anything they wanted to be, regardless of their gender. I am not in the habit of breaking promises to anyone, let alone my pride and my joy. And that world will not exist with Barak Obama in the Oval Office.

So let’s roll.

#55 LotusBoy on 09.16.08 at 12:12 am

#33 007girl – if I have’nt yet made my point – I am sorry – Here it is: This movement will radically turn corporations inward to figure out the kind of association they have with politics, celebs and so on. This will restore the Social Balance in their corporate endeavor and when the boycott hits their top line revenue and volumes they will notice it.

You know, I think dem and repub, there’s something about the water in Washington or something. So many of them seem to lose touch with what “real people feel and go through. They are so used to dealing with multi-billion dollar deals that.. well… our checkbooks would be Greek to them. I guess that’s why Palin is so popular. She’s like “real people”, untouched by the Washington crud. The “first dude” too.. he sounded like “the guy next door” in Greta’s interview with him. By the way… I live 10 miles away from Greta’s hometown. Her daddy is a big-shot lawyer there and everyone had heard that name long before she became famous from HIM. She’s using her maiden name for her tv show, LOL.

Thanks for helping me with this. I want to think of a way to try and crack the DNC wide open and have them either release the accurate vote count with names of the delegates at the convention, or expose them for hiding the truth to the voters.

REally?

#70 Dem4Hillary on 09.16.08 at 12:18 am

METHODOLOGY: The numbers on this page are based on contributions of $200 or more from PACs and individuals to federal candidates and from PAC, soft money and individual donors to political parties, as reported to the Federal Election Commission. While election cycles are shown in charts as 1996, 1998, 2000 etc. they actually represent two-year periods. For example, the 2002 election cycle runs from January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2002.

Data for the current election cycle were released by the Federal Election Commission on Monday, July 28, 2008.

NOTE: Soft money contributions to the national parties were not publicly disclosed until the 1991-92 election cycle, and were banned by the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act following the 2002 elections.

Feel free to distribute or cite this material, but please credit the Center for Responsive Politics.

#71 BillieJo on 09.16.08 at 12:19 am

Does anyone else here have any written feedback from the Democratic party when you tried to get the names and votes for the Clinton delegates in your state. Written info is best to use for proof.

#75 LotusBoy on 09.16.08 at 12:21 am

#66 007girl – that is exactly the point.
When Oprah does not want Palin and some other staff want her, she play partisan politics CHicago style.
Her followers want to see Palin on her show and are now upset by her level of Koo-aid affliction. THis turns them away from her. If you couple her sponsors to run away as well She will at some point not be in the ratings kingdom. Like Katie Couric, KO, Chris Matthews falling behind for other reasons. Ratings is what gets sponsors and ratings is what gets them to cut and run. So go ahead and initiate.

Hill4 I’ll check with Murphy about it. I’m going to be signing off for the night now though. Seems funny to be able to type “night” here. I’m so used to the McCain blog filter blocking that word, LOL. Ok, here’s my standard closing in the McCain blog: Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight, and don’t let the Obama-bugs bite!!

Welcome back! I agree with you completely, real men are not afraid of strong women in fact they treasure; but weak men are scared to death of strong women.

I remember what Donald Trump said years ago; “a smart man is not threatened by an intelligent woman, he consider her an asset; a weak man will reject her right away, she’s a threat.

This may have already been shared – sorry if I’m repeating.
Hillary Clinton is scheduled to be interviewed on GMA (Good Morning America) Tuesday.

As all this yacking was going on today about the economy by the two candidates I kept thinking “if only Hillary was the Dem candidate”.
I heard Hill at twice engage in discussions (during the primaries) on CNBC discussing the economy and she was great! She was informed and she was talking to those financial folks with such authority and she had specifics.
I miss Hill and how informed she was on so many topics. There is no doubt she was the better candidate!

PUMAS! You have got to see this most interesting email I recieved from Mr. ‘Pooof” today. The claims and accusations made are most interesting. Read and see what type of reaction you get out of this most … Well, I’m without words on this one….. I took particular interest n the crowd size claim. Who are they talking about…Themselves? Sometimes it pays not to unsubscribed to see what they are up to.

Even Karl Rove had to admit yesterday that the McCain campaign’s lies and negative attacks have gone “too far.”

John McCain is running the most negative and dishonest campaign in modern presidential history. He has demonstrated that he’d rather lose his integrity than lose this election.

It’s right out of the Bush-Rove playbook. Unfortunately, as Karl Rove knows better than anyone, these shameful tactics have worked in the past.

This year, we can’t let that happen.

Our goal is to bring 50,000 new donors into our movement by Friday at midnight.

And if you make your first online donation today, your gift will go twice as far. A previous donor has promised to match every dollar you donate.

Double your impact right now. Your matched donation of $5 will become $10 if you donate today.

The culture of corruption and dishonesty that has hurt America so badly the last eight years is playing an even larger role in McCain’s campaign.

Just this past week, John McCain hired a Washington super-lobbyist to fill positions in a potential McCain-Palin White House. At least 177 lobbyists have been on McCain’s campaign staff, and apparently he hopes to run the White House the same way.

Also this week, the McCain campaign continued to repeat a number of outrageous lies, even after watchdogs in the media called them “shamelessly misleading,” “thoroughly dishonest,” and “a toxic mix of lies and double-speak.”

They also lied about the crowd size at one of their rallies — reporting 23,000 attendees when there were only 8,000.

McCain’s campaign — run on lobbyists and lies — is no match for this unprecedented grassroots movement. More than 2,500,000 people have stepped up to own a piece of this campaign.

But if we want change, we must continue to grow this movement and put an end to these dishonorable political tactics. And we have just 50 days left to do it.

Right now, a previous donor — an ordinary person just like you — has promised to match your donation if you step up today.

Double your impact to combat McCain’s dishonest campaign tactics — make a matched donation of $5 or more today:

https://donate.barackobama.com/match

Thanks for all you do,

David

The election process this year has me so disgusted. MSM, Obama, and Hillary, and Biden totally disgust me with all their Bulls**t.
The closer it gets yto November, the more I think I wont vote at all. It was a waste of time in 2000 and again in 2004. Both candidates have fulfilled their promises for change already. This year isn’t more of the same—it’s worse.
I think if I’m going to boycott something it will be the election and taxes.

To everyone who has taken a few moments of thier time and written to a company regarding the placement of ads a big thank you!! I can only afford the time to skim the postings here(often well over 1,000) but I have read some of the responses. Knew the generic response would be that we buy in advance and buy in blocks. My response is well I think in advance when I purchase a product and if that product has endorsed the banality of a show like the view I say no thanks. I say write them again and let em know you are going to let everyone you know what they support. Bambi is an ad for the American presidency, they thought we’d suck it up in the end. OOps on them. Excersize real power — our votes–our voices and yes our wallets.

Linda Ivell calling a Boycott on Oprah

The Florida Federation of Republican Women today called for a boycott of the Oprah Winfrey Show based upon Ms. Winfrey’s refusal to have Governor Sarah Palin as a guest on Oprah until after the election, according to Linda Ivell, President of the FFRW.

Ivell went on to say, “We find it to be an abuse of her power –gained on the backs of our patronage of her advertising empire – to use her program to so blatantly support Obama in the face of this historic moment.

So, we are tuning out and cancelling our subscriptions to O Magazine and encourage other women to do the same.

Maybe not forever, but at least until ‘after the election’,” said Ms. Ivell in a direct reference to Oprah’s refusal not to host Governor Palin until ‘after the election’.

I came across this the other day and thought it was very interesting:

http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/2008/01/28/john-mccain-prisoner-of-war-a-first-person-account.html

It is a first person interview US News and World Report did with John McCain after his release back in 1973. I did not read it back then (I was a Junior in High School at the time), but US News just republished the article early this year. It is a long read, but well worth it. Some of the language in a place or two is a bit un PC, but remember this is a man that had just returned to the US after almost 6 years of torture and confinement. A stark contrast between the character of McCain and the character (or lack thereof) of Obama. And it really paints a clear picture of McCain’s willingness to “reach across the aisle”- McCain was perhaps the biggest proponent in Congress for normalizing relations with Vietnam, despite his personal experiences. Not many men or women could make that leap.

Here’s a link that mentions Hillary’s interview scheduled for Tuesday 9/16/08 on Good Morning America

http://blogs.reuters.com/trail08/2008/09/15/hillary-clinton-happy-to-stump-for-obama-biden/

I tried to go to the ABC News site and see what they had posted about Hill’s interview – but the site was acting up. (Probably due to all the people going there to see the Palin interview).

Goofsmom, did you see this one? The writer is a Hollywood screen writer and he has a movie called North Country with Charlize Theron coming out/is playing now. It’s totally gutter and was posted on Huffington Post. So classy.

I realized three things tonight. For one, if you are a McCain/Palin/Bush voter, you and I do not have a difference of opinion. We have a difference in brain power. Two, she really is as ignorant as I feared. And, three, she really is kinda hot. Basically, I want to have sex with her on my Barack Obama sheets while my wife reads aloud from the Constitution. (My wife is cool with this if I promise to “first wipe off Palin’s tranny makeup.” I married well.)

#188 NewOrleansPuma:
I know who this person is who “won” the election, Rosland Kurita. she is definitly a republican and she probably did benefit from Republican votes.

I am personally glad to see her go. Only now she will get sympathy votes, who knows if it’s enough to help her.

but, there was talk all over the place of crossover votes this year.

Yes, we need closed primaries. I mean double closed. Only registered Democrats can vote in theirs and registered republicans in theirs, period. I also don’t want to see all of this changing registration. I think you should have to vote in two consecutive primaries before changing your registration back to a previous party or some rule that makes it difficult to constantly change back and forth.

#193Dem4Hillary: Yes, I agree with you on that as well. All of the changes that have seeped in over the years in the name of easy voting have been, and I have said it from the beginning of the changes ,not useful for that reason, but in fact have been used for corruption of elections. Obama voted FOR the Bridge to Nowhere before Palin was ever elected as Governor.

People in congress wanted to send that money to New Orleans to rebuild bridges, and Obama voted against it.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/10/opinion/main4435937.shtml

“As Amy Goldstein and Michael D. Shear observed in the August 30 Washington Post, Palin “has angered two of Alaska’s leading Republicans – Sen. Ted Stevens and Rep. Don Young – by refusing to support their decades-long practice of securing federal money for the state, including Young’s effort to obtain $233 million for a structure dubbed the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ by critics because it would have connected a small town with an island populated with 50 people. In her short time in state office, she has repeatedly thwarted Stevens’s and Young’s interests and, at times, challenged their candidates – including their children.”

While it may be unfair to say that Sarah Palin always treated the Bridge as Milton Friedman might have, she quickly grasped the project’s folly and ultimately put it out of the nation’s misery. In a country where politicians endlessly make demands until weary taxpayers capitulate, Palin scrapped the bridge soon after she was empowered to do so.

Obama and Biden’s moaning about all of this would be far easier to stomach if they, too, opposed the Bridge to Nowhere. Not so.

Obama and Biden had an excellent opportunity to do the right thing. Just seven weeks after Hurricane Katrina, Senator Tom Coburn (R., Okla.) proposed to transfer $125 million from the notorious Bridge’s budget and instead devote it to rebuilding the Interstate 10 Twin Spans Bridge between New Orleans and St. Tammany’s Parish. The storm chopped up the bridge.

“We have the largest natural catastrophe we have ever seen in our history,” Coburn said on the Senate floor on October 20, 2005. “It is time we reassess the priorities we utilize in this body as we think about our obligations at home.”

Coburn’s amendment failed 15-82. Obama and Biden were among the “nays.” They and 80 other senators preferred to protect the earmarking tradition than to assist Katrina’s tempest-tossed citizens.

Obama and Biden put pork first and people second. While the residents of New Orleans and southern Louisiana endured perhaps their greatest challenge since the Civil War, Obama and Biden both turned their backs on these embattled Americans. “

To this day, the great citizens of this country continue to help here, and for that all of us here are forever grateful…We must give our citizens and our country an administration worthy of the hearts and souls of our citizens…We must defeat fraud Obama for that reason and so many others…

If Zebari stands by this charge, Obama’s campaign is over. The last thing this country needs is an someone who will compromise the safety of our troops and our objectives of victory in wartime to further his political career put in as Commander in Chief.

It has been a long time since I have been on the blog but since Maryland PUma is so busy in school I have to ask you guys a question? I have been trying to download off of youtube but can’t seem to find any place where it will let you download videos.
I did not get a chance to download the ones that were on this site and now they are all gone. The only way I could download was from you site. There are many great tributes to Hillary I was not able to download including 19 million cracks……….Can someone please help me with this. Of course this the the Eastern Shore of Maryland and most people have not caught up yet……….they are not interested in anything but surviving. Ocean City, MD has taken a real hit this year and many people don’t have jobs and it is really bad………..so try telling them to vote for McCain. I faxed a letter yesterday to John McCain and told him I would consider voting for him if he did something about illegal immigration and also not to drill in ANWR. I am totally against drilling there. Most people don’t realize the daily destruction that takes place and to say it is a tiny area and won’t be impacted is not true. The area they are speaking about, as has been stated before by BlueJay, is home to the Gwich’in indians. The indians are fighting to save their land and the key migration paths of the caribou. I signed my letter and then hand-printed P.U.M.A. to he side. I posted my letter to him yesterday. Please take a look at the website to see for yourself.

Fox this morning~~
They did a peice about 20 min. ago with the skit form J Leno which was funny an on trget about the View. They said yesterday they tried to explain they treat all the candidates to hard questions. Which Fox & Friends quickly disputed referencing BO’s interview last spring!
I e-mailed them immediately….

I have grown to really like watching Fox & Friends and today you just reaffirmed why. The piece about John McCain and The View was so accurate. The three women, W, J & B, were so outwardly disrespectful of the Senator. I saw th B Obama interview and they were very subdued and giddy when they interviewed him. They need a lesson in common curtsey and a brain make-over. Many one time viewers are boycotting the show and the sponsors because of it. And yes they did try to cover their a_ _ _ _ _ majorily yesterday, even Elizabeth. The producers must be feeling the heat!

Are we doing a Prowl with the sponsors???

#238 NoHillaryNoVote on 09.16.08 at 7:26 am

Good Morning America (ABC) television just ran the first segment of their interview with Hillary Clinton. They indicated another segment to come – but I’m not sure if today or not.
Hill is being very careful about her words. She was talking Republicans policies versus Democrat policies. Not responding to direct questions about Palin’s qualifications saying that’s not the issue. They asked Hill about the 17% of her supporters who say they will not vote for Obama – her response was again about Democrats vs Republicans policies and which will be able to handle the problems facing Americans.
I agree with those who say when they’ve seen her lately that she’s saying the words in support of BO, but it’s very controlled and measured speaking.
I love Hill – but no way am I voting for BO or the DNC!

PS I have been boycotting the show since last spring but had to watch the first 5 min.s yesterday to see what they were going to say.

I got a email yesterday that stated the following:

There’s so much at stake in this election — fixing our economy, solving the energy crisis, dealing with climate change, and restoring America’s position in the world.

You and I know that. But John McCain is trying to distract voters from the real issues. And he’s willing to take the low road by making cheap personal attacks and lying outright about Barack and his record.

It’s up to each of us to talk to voters across the country and make sure they know what this election is really about.

We have an exciting new tool called Neighbor to Neighbor that makes it easy to talk to potential supporters about Barack and the issues that matter.

Help get the conversation back on track today by making phone calls:

Then it goes on to give an email address. If someone wants it to pursue this let me know and I will email it.

Good Morning Pumas,

Did anyone keep the email from Obama about the VoteForChange web site? If so, would you please email it to me at jesse seven two seven at live dot com? I deleted mine and am putting together an official complaint to the FEC and my state Lt. Gov. about possible voter fraud. I need it as “actual documentation” to submit. I won’t use any email addresses on it.
Thank you.

#265 utahpuma on 09.16.08 at 8:34 am

Also, for those Pumas who are Vets or interested, I received this email from the McCain Vet rep,

Good evening from Arlington!

The final push to November 4th is finally here. John McCain and Sarah Palin are travelling the country to take their message of reform, prosperity, and peace to the American people. They’re doing their part it’s time for us to do ours. The momentum of this election is with us, and we need your help to keep the Straight Talk Express rolling all the way to the White House. I invite you to join us for the first nationwide Veterans Phone Bank Night this Wednesday, September 17!

Throughout the primaries, veterans were at the core of our volunteer force across the nation. Now I’m calling on you one last time to help complete this mission. Join your fellow veterans and other John McCain/Sarah Palin supporters at the phone bank nearest you. Visit http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/StateContact.htm to find the offices near you.

If you can’t make it to a phone bank this week, join us next week. We will hold National Veterans Call Night EVERY WEDNESDAY between now and the election. If you don’t live near a phone bank, there’s still plenty for you to do right from your neighborhoods. Visit http://www.johnmccain.com/actioncenter to explore all the ways you can get involved and help put John McCain in the White House.

It’s time for us to finish this mission. Join us!

I just saw Hillary on Good Morning talking about the economic crisis. She talked for several minutes about the solutions and never mentioned Obama’s name.

When specifically asked, she replied that the Democrats (like her husband) have the solutions – again she did not say Obama had the solutions.

It made me very happy.

I wish it was Nov 5th, this is all getting to me, I want John and Sarah to win so bad, I want the DNC and obama to go down big time, I will just die if no name were president.

#269 CommomSense12 on 09.16.08 at 8:44 am

To All Great PUMA people. I just posted the following on Salon.com, under the currently running Walter Shapiro article, and also on Washington Post.com under the article “Economy Becomes New Proving Ground for McCain, Obama”, and you will see it soon on NYTimes.com under the headline article today (9/16) of “Officials Try to Stem Crisis: Fed to Meet”.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

STICK WITH ME EVERYONE. Please read on. We have to make some major changes the way we do things in our country, and we must start with this all important election on November 4th, 2008 – in less that eight weeks.

I invite everyone to review the following excellent source articles:

(1)“If You Like Michigan’s Economy, You’ll Love Obama’s”, Phil Gramm and Mike Solon, Wall Street Journal, 9/13/2008

(2)“Obama’s Agenda May Not Add Up”, Peter Nicholas, July 8, 2008, Los Angeles Times

(3)“Shaky Economy Challenges Ambitious Obama Agenda”, Bob Davis and T.W. Farnam, Wall Street Journal, 8/26/2008

(4)“Obama’s Gloomy Big-Government Vision”, Lawrence Kudlow, Real Clear Politics.com, February 15, 2008

(5)“Obama and McCain Have Big Economic Differences”, Martin Crutsinger, AP, 9/8/2008

(6)“Obama’s Altitude Sickness”, Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post, September 12, 2008

I realize I am suggesting a lot of reading. I did it this weekend. For all the above reasons, and others, I am voting for the Senator John McCain/Governor Sarah Palin ticket at the top, and then for all Democratic Party candidates for Congress. I feel our Congress in Washington has been doing the absolutely best they could.

The problem has been the incompetent buffoon at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and now with our economy teetering, Mr. Bush still doesn’t get it. It was his self serving policies and programs including deceit that he forced down our throats that caused all this.

And you will see from above, Mr. Obama doesn’t get it either. He would only make things worse.

John McCain and Sarah Palin understand our country, know how to work across party lines, and I am convinced they are the best choice at the top of the ticket.

I urge all Americans to agree.

Thank you.

I am not in the habit of breaking promises to anyone, let alone my pride and my joy. And that world will not exist with Barak Obama in the Oval Office.

So let’s roll.

Thank you so much for this! I also have two daughters that I pretty much promised the same things to. As a woman, I have been denied jobs, bad mouthed for being politically active, and suffered many of the things that I see Hillary and Sarah suffering, just because I was a woman willing to run her own company in a male dominated profession.

If all the men and women of our generation adopt this attitude, the world will change for the better!

Again, thanks, and thanks for your contributions here.

In my opinion ONLY I say this….Hillary came off to me as saying that just because Palin is a woman it is no reason to vote for her….and I know plenty of women whom voted for Hillary because she is just that…a woman.

I’m sorry, but I felt the double edge sword here.

Good morning PUMAS -

Just saw something interesting on faux news – had a woman discussing Sarah Palin – said it was her opinion that all the hard core feminist groups were dead – includes NOW, NARAL, Emily’s List, MS, etc. – all because for all their trumpeting about how women can do it all and with their support, etc. – here comes Sarah and she did it on her own and is being blasted by all of the so-called women’s groups – I guess besides no longer being a member of the Democratic Party, I am also no longer considering myself a feminist either – I raised hell against the anti-Sarah sites but then I am a woman and I support other women – what does that make me?

These are very confusing times and I think this country is in for some very big changes – whether good or bad, don’t know – but there will be change………………..

The Neocons’ Palin Project
By Patrick J. Buchanan

Will the neocons who tutored George W. Bush in the ideology he pursued to the ruin of his presidency do the same for Sarah Palin?

Should they succeed, they will destroy her. Yet, they are moving even now to capture this princess of the right and hope of the party.

In St. Paul, Palin was told to cancel a meeting with Phyllis Schlafly and pro-life conservatives. McCain’s operatives said Palin had to rest for her Wednesday convention speech.

Yet, on Tuesday, Palin was behind closed doors with Joe Lieberman and officials of the Israeli lobby AIPAC. There, according to The Washington Post, Palin took and passed her oral exams.

“Palin assured the group of her strong support for Israel, of her desire to see the United States move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and of her opposition to Iran’s aspirations to become a
nuclear power, according to sources familiar with the meeting.”

AIPAC’s mission, like that of Likud, is to goad America into launching air and missile strikes on any and all Iranian nuclear facilities.

AIPAC went away happy. Purred spokesman Josh Block, “We were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep personal commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel.”

Heading home to Alaska to prepare for her interview with Charlie Gibson, Palin was escorted by Randy Scheunemann, McCain’s foreign policy guru and, until March, a hired agent of the Tbilisi regime.

Scheunemann’s lobbying assignment: Bring Georgia into NATO, so U.S. troops, like 19-year-old Track Palin, will be required to fight Russia to defend a Saakashvili regime that has paid Randy and his partner $730,000.

Reportedly, a phone conversation was held between Saakashvili and Palin, in which Palin committed herself to the territorial integrity of Georgia, though South Ossetia and Abkhazia have declared independence and been recognized by Moscow, which now has troops in both.

Also on Palin’s plane was Steve Biegun, formerly of Bush’s National Security Council, and Scheunemann’s choice to tutor her. Of Biegun, Steven Clemens of the New American Foundation says, “He will turn
her into an advocate of Cheneyism and Cheney’s view of national security issues.”

During her interview with Gibson, Palin often took a neocon line. Three times she said that, should Israel decide to attack Iran, the United States should not “second guess” Israel’s decision or interfere.

This contradicts U.S. policy. Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the joint chiefs, has warned Israel not to attack Iran, as the United States does not want a “third front.” And the Pentagon is withholding crucial weapons the Israelis want and need to carry out any such attack.

Palin also volunteered that the Russian invasion was “unprovoked,” though Georgia attacked South Ossetia first. She followed up by saying that Georgia and Ukraine should be brought into NATO.

Would that mean America would have to go to war with Russia on behalf of Georgia in any new conflict, asked Gibson.

“Perhaps so,” said Palin.

Scheunemann should get a fat severance check from Saakashvili for that one.

One ex-White House aide at American Enterprise Institute, asked by Tim Shipman of the Daily Telegraph if AEI sees Palin as a “project,” replied: “Your word, not mine. … But I wouldn’t disagree with the sentiment. … She’s bright, and she’s a blank page. She’s going places, and it’s worth going there with her.”

In fairness to Palin, on issues like NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia, her answers reflect the views of the man who chose her. She has no option at present but to follow the line laid down by Scheunemann.

But make no mistake. Sarah Palin is no neocon. She did not come by her beliefs by studying Leo Strauss. She is a traditionalist whose values are those of family, faith, community and country, not some utopian ideology.

Wasilla, Alaska, is not a natural habitat of neoconservatives.

And her unrehearsed answers to Gibson’s questions reveal her natural conservatism. Asked if she agrees with the Bush Doctrine, Palin asked for clarification. “In what respect, Charlie?”

Gibson: “Do we have the right of an anticipatory self-defense?”

Yes, said Palin, “if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against (the) American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.”

Exactly. The intelligence must be legit and the threat “imminent.”

Interviewed by Alaska Business Monthly in March 2007 on the surge, Palin said, “I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place.”

That is not the language of empire or “benevolent global hegemony.”

Palin may disappoint many conservatives in the next seven weeks by having to parrot the McCain-neocon line on NATO expansion, NAFTA and a “path to citizenship” for illegal aliens. But the battle for
Sarah’s soul is not over.

For, again, the lady is no neocon. Nor is the husband Todd, First Dude of Alaska and former member of the “Alaska First” Independence Party.

#309 NewOrleansPuma on 09.16.08 at 10:22 am

#308ladyhawke: I have read Buchanan for years and note that he always jumps ship from whatever version of Republican power groups are on the downswing Prior to downswings, he supports them… In that very real sense, Buchanan who touts himself as a high minded moralist of truth, unchanging principles has little problem with becoming a relatavist until the next upswing of the next Republican power group within that party.I am glad he notes Palin is no neo-con, but he, himself, was up their you know whats with support when they were running this country for almost the total 8 years of Bush. ..and certainly during the Reagan years, where most of the neo con birds came from, with some coming as well from the radical right edge under the Nixon years. B. is as much a political prostitute as many other commentators ; he is simply much better at covering his moves than most.

#310 Silence Dogood on 09.16.08 at 10:45 am

Just want you all to know I’m working hard to flip NJ Red. I wanna see Obama get crushed. When first I saw him four years ago, I thought smooth talker… no substance.

I’m an independent, but I admire the way PUMA’s are working hard for honesty in politics. Most of you may be Democrats, but I think you are also having a big impact on the Republicans. I look to a future of better, more capable, more honest politicians on both sides. Politicians that actually listen to those that they serve. PUMA’s are helping make that possible.

#234 ladyhawkke,

To keep things balanced, here’s some opposing viewpoints on the ANWR issue.

“Given the phenomenal national press coverage focused on the Gwich’in Indian ANWR position, the uninformed can only assume they live at ground zero on ANWR’s coastal plain and that their lives and cultures would be destroyed by any development there. To the contrary, the coastal plain is home only to the Inupiat Eskimos of the City of Kaktovik, population 260, who support development.

George Tagarook, Kaktovik’s vice-mayor since October 2001, eloquently explains how this issue has been misrepresented in his article entitled ANWR Reality Lies Far North of Gwich’in. In Kaktovik, a community survey (January 2000) showed 78% of residents supported ANWR development. For background, a history of the coastal plain is given in Alaskan Natives Support Development, and Tara MacLean Sweeney explains how the Inupiats’ views have been ignored in the ANWR debate.”

Read here for more …

http://www.anwr.org/features/kaktovik.htm

#234 ladyhawkke on 09.16.08 at 7:17 am

“also not to drill in ANWR. Please take a look at the website to see for yourself.”

#310 Silence Dogood….reading your post put really put things in perspective for me, especially when you said PUMAS are having a big impact on Republicans as well. I can honestly say that since coming over here the “haze” has been removed from my eyes and for the first time in my life I am EXCITED about seeing members from all parties working together. I feel like I have shed my Republican skin, almost as if I have been reborn…reborn into an American, not a member of a political party. I have the grandest admiration for this group of people who call themselves PUMA for I think they are leading the way and setting an example that bipartisanship IS possible and there is great hope that regardless of what we may disagree with each other , they are far greater things we all agree on. I never thought I would be excited at the possibility of having Republicans, Democrats and Independents serving in one administration together…THIS is what gives me HOPE.

#312 Girlsrule: Meant to welcome you to this site the other day. I like your name and your attitude. I’m a center to left Dem and have no qualms in crossing party lines for a good, moderate candidate when faced with a candidate that is further left than I’d EVER be. I think partisanship is ridiculous and a threat to our country. Sure, we can have differences, but keep it real!

My first post on here is still in moderation. I live in Norwich, CT and have been a PUMA since June. My teenage daughter registered me so that tells you how great my computer skills are. I was a Democrat and and switched to Independent in July. It was nice to see that there are some CT PUMAS. I hope we can work as a group to change this state red. I feel like I’m in OBville here. My family will be voting McCain/Palin. We vote country first. Obama is an insult to all Americans who care for this country and he is too dangerous and scarey to be anywhere near the White House. His remarks about asthmatic children made me see red since my daughter has asthma and doesn’t his older daughter have asthma and was hospitalized when she was little. His dislike of regular folk, small-town, hard-working, women, men children, babies: take your pick, we’re all under the bus. Anyway, glad to finally be posting. I have done some prowls and written on other blogs.
