I saw NObama’s mouthpiece, Bill Burton, on Fox this morning. My primary reaction was repulsion: This young man was arrogant, unprofessional and overtly aggressive in his attempts to prop up his empty suit candidate — Burton actually sneered at the Fox interviewer a number of times, while he stuck to his snotty talking points and refused to answer a legitimate question about the inherent unfairness about ridiculing McCain for his inability to use a computer, when his prisoner-of-war wounds preclude him from typing on a keyboard.

Why are we not doing a few “happy hops” and calling everyone’s attention to the fact that Philip Berg has been give the okay to pursue “discovery,” ie. gather information, documents, etc. Obama MUST produce evidence of citizenship, and of not lying about use of names, citizenship, etc. and he must produce it soon. Howard Dean must produce evidence that BO was properly vetted by the DNC. This is reason for HOPE and possible CHANGE we can believe in. Given that Obama and Dean have refused to answer these questions, this is a big win — even if BO is a citizen, he will have heard us ask him to prove it.

That was Bill Burton speaking for the Obama Campaign from Chicago. Bill Hemmer helped to prove how ridiculous Burton was when he said that Burton had sort of answered some questions. He just could not get a credible answer from Burton. It was my thought that that Bill Burton and Bob Beckel are two of the “best” supporters that FOX could have on to support Obama. You have to send Barack ALL of your personal information in order to proceed through the steps to register to vote and then at the end of the whole thing all they do is provide you with the Massachusetts form to register. Honestly, IT IS A SCAM. A total and complete SCAM.
The only purpose it serves it to increase their database of personal information of private citizens. Oh, and also making it much easier for people to cheat.

I was raised a Catholic and have always believed that we have a responsibility to look after the least fortunate amongst us.
Where I have grave concerns is whenever that impulse to do good work is co-opted, mandated and managed by the government as part of a class envy, wealth-redistribution program.
The amount of fraud and waste that long-distance, bureaucratic programs allow for is truly staggering. In my opinion, we don’t need MORE tax dollars underwriting a steady shift to socialism — we need a bottoms-up accounting of where the money is going, how effective our existing programs actually are and a once-and-for-all effort to eliminate fraud, waste and the influence of special interests.
We would be better served with a smaller federal government that does the few select jobs that it SHOULD do for us very well. Other than that, I would like to see any additional freed-up resources left in our own wallets to pursue those things that are in the best interests of ourselves, our families, our towns, our businesses and our local citizens who are in legitimate need of assistance.
Following up on comments from the thread below re: McCain’s health records, etc.
McCain released pages and pages of his health records to the media. Sanjay Gupta, from CNN, commented on them yesterday. Said he’d seen them and other than the melanoma McCain had 8 years ago, he’s in excellent health. Longevity in the family is one of the criteria doctors use to evaluate a person’s health prospects and McCain’s mother is 96 years old and in excellent health both physically and mentally. (Sanjay’s comments, not mine).
On the other hand, Sanjay said the Obama campaign released about one paragraph describing Obama’s health! That’s it. One paragraph! Hmm…. Sounds to me like if anyone should be releasing some REAL health records it’s OBAMA.
Once again with the Obama crowd, offense seems to be their best defense strategy. Whenever they accuse the McCain people of something, it’s like a red flag goes up in my head that this is probably something the Obama campaign is guilty of.
Also, re: Obama’s health. What’s HE hiding? Speaking of family history (since that seems to be all we really know about his health) – his MOTHER died of ovarian cancer at 52. His FATHER died in his late 40′s in a fatal car accident in which he was driving drunk. Not the first such accident the father had. He’d had numerous DUI’s and had even lost both his legs as a result of one….Some have even described the accident as a “car-assisted suicide.”
So, since a tendency to substance abuse and alcoholism are often hereditary, is Obama at risk, or is he abusing something NOW. If things don’t go BO’s way, can we expect some such wreckless and destructive behavior from Obama too? How ’bout a tox screen, Bamaboy? That’s one medical record I’d like to see.

I heard Biden speaking this morning. All I can say is thank goodness the Democrats are on our side. They have to be to send a McCain cheerleader like Joe out to court undecideds.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are using voter information gathered off of the voteforchange website in order to commit vote fraud. Absentee ballots are especially vulnerable to fraud.
I was surprised to see that the RNC has added this to their platform, is there anything similar on the DNC platform?

You have to send Barack ALL of your personal information in order to proceed through the steps to register to vote and then at the end of the whole thing all they do is provide you with the Massachusetts form to register. I believe she said that the Rep. HQ by her didn’t have any of the badges I bought. I will try to get more if people want them.
The thing is there is no way BO can be allowed to only talk about income taxes. If he raises taxes on businesses to pay for his programs then the businesses raise their prices to cover the added cost and all people including poor people pay the higher price. If you raise property taxes then even people who do not own a home pay them. That is because rent includes the landlords mortgage cost on the building, their property taxes and their liability and fire insurance. Raise property tax and rents increase for everyone including the poor. And the poor are the ones who have the hardest time with these higher costs. So it is cheap and a lie for BO to only be talking about income tax.

I’m getting OLD! I forgot to mention that when I went to the Rep. HQ yesterday one of the head people at HQ kept trying to give me tickets for tomorrow when McCain will be here in Vienna Ohio, 15 miles from me, but I can not go. As we were talking he was more interested in my being a proud Democrat but would vote for McCain so I asked him if he ever heard of PUMA. His reply was yes with a little laugh so I set him straight and said that we are PUMA – People United Means Action and not the PUMA that the media loves to say, then I wrote down the web address for him and the other workers to visit us. Don’t be surprised to see Republicans visit us to try to get to know and understand us without trying to get us to vote for McCain. I graduated from an Ivy and I don’t appreciate the frequent generalizations about Ivy graduates that I see on this blog. I have been a Puma from the beginning and I am NOT like that, nor are most of the people I know. Those kind of generalizations are no different than making generalizations based on race or gender. Just sayin’.
And now I’ll go back into lurking mode, as I am sure that I will be attacked for no longer keeping my mouth shut about this.

I don’t know what part of NYS icyblue lives in, however, north of New York city which is a heavy Democratic population and carries the state as Democratic as a result. I travel the state constantly and for work and review the maps on dem vs rep: although there are pockets of strong Democratic population the state has a strong Republican base north of the city. The influence towards Palin may just help to swing Dems in upstate to vote the JM top ticket. Hilarry supporters espescially.
I was having a conversation with two Republicans yesterday. They think the rep will own the WH for at least 12 years – OMG! We do need to think carefully how we vote down to keep our representation strong for the long term.

I think JM has a good chance in New York especially as more revelations about NoBama’s shady past surface. I have many relatives and friends, lifelong dems all who will not vote for OB. The big cities in NY are heavily dem, but upstate tends rep. If OB’s support in the cities wanes, he’s done.

I am not sure either. It sounds as if one needs to go to their state democrat office in order to obtain copies of the tallies. I know that NYS publishes all of the names of the delegates and their ‘original’ pledge. However, it sisn’t seem to represent what resulted with thier vote at the convention (by individual).
Any time a company gives too much leeway to their employees and CEO due to lack of policies for check and balance, you’re tempting them to steal, that includes cooking up the books to make it come out the company is making a huge profit (fool investors and stockholders) when actually the company is losing money. This is what happen to Fanne Mae, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch.
The government doesn’t create jobs or revenues, they create policies eminating from Congress signed by President to make it into law that every trade regulators must follow to the letter.
What has the Banking Committee has been doing since this falls under their scope of responsibility? What Nancy Pelosi has been doing as Speaker of the House to tell her own party to do their job?
WE taxpayers bailed out Fannie Mae to the tune of $100 billion, prior to that we also bail out another company in Wallstreet but the US government warned Wallstreet taxpayers will not bail them out all the time. Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch expect the us taxpayers to bail them out too!
The Democratic Controlled Congress haven’t done a damn thing to avert this thru their banking committee. The Executive branch can’t just make laws and regulations on their own, that falls on the legislative branch (congress) to legislate it so the President can sign it.

RE: Superdelegates and how they voted
I don’t know if they even voted since nobo “was selected” by the pledged delegates.
I want to make a comment re: pledged delegates and this is how I felt from the time I got home from the convention.
1. The PLEDGED delegates are the ones who screwed up this election. They did NOT do their homework on both candidates (Hillary and nobo), their state rules for voting for the person to whom they are pledged and CHOSE to vote for nobo without standing up for the process and theri constituents (in manay cases).
2. I feel we should go after them. Send more letters to the AG’s, SOS’s, State Election officials re: breaking the law (in at least 13 states).
3. We need to let the PUBLIC, in their respective areas, know how they voted and whether or not they went against their constituents and/or broke the law, by using either press releases to local stations, newspapers and local tv. And/or write a letter to the papers.
The delegates hae NO choice but to confess to undue pressure, coercion and give ALL the details of what happened to their vote. This will be the best form of facts and with potential charges and/or lawsuits against them they will have no choice but to try and defend themselves.
These delegates ARE the ones are partialaly responsible for the Denver voting being handled the way it was. The public also needs to know who did the coercion (fellow Hillary delegates), whips, etc. And they need to be held accountable to review their vote and see if it was submitted properly or as a registered vote. Maybe we can track down the letter rom the DNC where they were told that they were breaking no laws by voting for someone they were not pledged to.

Hi. New member here. I am a repub (sorry guys) but am 1000% in agreement with the despicable way Hillary was MANhandled and how terrible it would be for America if Obama got in. I would be saying the same thing no matter what party BO belonged to. This is THE most dangerous time in world history. This is no time for someone to take charge of our country with his anti-american, terrorist, fraudulent backgroud. I hope even though I’m a repub you’ll let me in. They are generally links about BO or Palin. Does anybody have the latest poll numbers on the percentage of Hill supporters not voting for “The One”? Of course, any poll numbers are probably off-kilter there, but it would still be interesting to know how many of the 18 million are sharp enough to not put that crook in the white house like all of you are.
For anyone thinking that McCain is like Bush, you need to do your homework. He has been the most bi-partisan senator of all of them. I still think he will give Joe Lieberman a great position for his loyalty. My family also believe that he may reach out to Hillary since they are friends and she is a strong Senator. They have worked together supposedly. He really is a Maverick.

The number of NYC elite that vote Democrat is high. I live in NJ and work in NYC. Besides the elite, the number of obots I run into on a daily basis is stupifying. Outside of NYC, NY leans moderate to conservative. But the fact that NY gets closer is still a positive.

ANALYSIS:
Sen. John McCain’s record of working with Democrats easily outstrips Sen. Barack Obama’s efforts with Republicans, according to an analysis by The Washington Times of their legislative records.
Whether looking at bills they have led on or bills they have signed onto, Mr. McCain has reached across the aisle far more frequently and with more members than Mr. Obama since the latter came to the Senate in 2005.
In fact, by several measures, Mr. McCain has been more likely to team up with Democrats than with members of his own party. Democrats made up 55 percent of his political partners over the last two Congresses, including on the tough issues of campaign finance and global warming. For Mr. Obama, Republicans were only 13 percent of his co-sponsors during his time in the Senate, and he had his biggest bipartisan successes on noncontroversial measures, such as issuing a postage stamp in honor of civil rights icon Rosa Parks.
With calls for change in Washington dominating the campaign, both Mr. Obama, the Democrats’ presidential nominee, and Mr. McCain, his Republican opponent, have claimed the mantle of bipartisanship.
But since 2005, Mr. McCain has led as chief sponsor of 82 bills, on which he had 120 Democratic co-sponsors out of 220 total, for an average of 55 percent. He worked with Democrats on 50 of his bills, and of those, 37 times Democrats outnumber Republicans as co-sponsors.
Mr. Obama, meanwhile, sponsored 120 bills, of which Republicans co-sponsored just 26, and on only five bills did Republicans outnumber Democrats. Mr. Obama gained 522 total Democratic co-sponsors but only 75 Republicans, for an average of 13 percent of his co-sponsors.
An Obama campaign spokesman declined to comment on The Times analysis.
McCain campaign surrogate Sen. Lindsey Graham, though, said the numbers expose a difference between the two candidates.
“The number – 55 and 13 – probably shows that one has been more desirous to find common ground than the other. The legislative record of Senator Obama is very thin,” said Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, who has teamed up with Mr. McCain probably more than any other senator.
The Times study looked at the bills each man introduced as the chief sponsor, and at the bills sponsored by other senators that each man signed onto. The study excluded resolutions and amendments, focusing instead on measures that each man authored and put into the normal legislative process.
Former Sen. James Jeffords of Vermont, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, all independents, were grouped with Democrats because each caucused with Democrats during the time under study.
Bipartisanship is a frequent issue on the campaign trail, with the McCain camp and surrogates such as Mr. Graham arguing the standard is how often someone takes leadership on an issue in defiance of his own party – a measure by which Mr. Obama falls short and Mr. McCain clearly excels.
He even revels in his stances, telling the audience at a values forum at Saddleback Church in California last month his list is extensive: “Climate change, out-of-control spending, torture.” He could have added campaign-finance overhaul, immigration, a patients’ bill of rights, gun control and tax cuts as other areas on which he’s broken with the majority of his party.
At the same forum, Mr. Obama said his major break with Democrats came on congressional ethics, when he sponsored a bill to curb meals and gifts from lobbyists.
In a memo to reporters, his campaign points to bills he worked on that gained near-unanimous support from both parties, including a bill more than a third of the Senate signed onto, sponsored by Sen. Sam Brownback, Kansas Republican, pushing peace initiatives in Sudan, and a bill sponsored by Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican, on charitable contributions that passed by a voice vote in each chamber.
But foremost, his campaign cites his work teaming up in 2006 with Sen. Richard G. Lugar, Indiana Republican, on the Cooperative Proliferation Detection Act, a noncontroversial measure to secure weapons of mass destruction, and with Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, to force the administration to create a searchable database to track federal spending grants.
Speaking to reporters during the Republican National Convention earlier this month Obama aide Robert Gibbs said Mr. Lugar and Mr. Coburn would back up Mr. Obama’s bipartisanship claims.
Mr. Lugar’s spokesman said the senator is not doing interviews on the subject. Mr. Coburn, in an interview, said Mr. Obama is a good senator to work with, but said there’s no comparison to Mr. McCain’s long record.
“Barack is a great guy, a nice guy, he’s a good friend of mine. He has passed two pieces of legislation since he’s been in the Senate – had his name on two,” Mr. Coburn said. He praised Mr. Obama’s staff for the work they did on the spending grants bill, but he said Mr. Obama hasn’t gone head-to-head against his leadership when it mattered: “Where have you seen him challenge the status quo?”
Mr. McCain on the campaign trail cites his own frequent Democratic legislative allies such as Mr. Lieberman, with whom he’s worked on gun control and global warming; Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, who was his partner for immigration and patients’ rights; Sen. Russell D. Feingold of Wisconsin, who worked with him on campaign finance; and Sen. Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, who was the top Democrat on the Indian Affairs Committee when Mr. McCain was chairman.
Mr. Feingold, Mr. Dorgan and Mr. Kennedy didn’t respond or declined through spokesmen to talk about the issue. Mr. Lieberman, however, has gone in the opposite direction, endorsing Mr. McCain for office and hitting Mr. Obama for failing to live up to his bipartisan claims.
Mr. Graham said it was unfortunate people weren’t recognizing their work with Mr. McCain.
“What you’ve got now is, you’ve got some people who are afraid to recognize John’s bipartisanship because of the nature of the election,” Mr. Graham said.
Mr. Graham has teamed up with Mr. McCain on some of his most contentious bills, including the immigration and campaign-finance fights, and said they both have “the scars to prove” they were in the fights.
“I have experienced the price that’s been paid to help John do some difficult things since 2004,” he said.
Those fights are part of the reason Mr. McCain had trouble securing the Republican presidential nomination, including winning less than 50 percent of Republican primary voters’ support, despite clearing the field less than halfway through the primaries.
The Times analysis found Mr. McCain’s most frequent Democratic teammates are Mr. Dorgan, with whom he shared leadership of the Indian Affairs Committee and who co-sponsored 23 of Mr. McCain’s bills, and Mr. Lieberman, who signed onto 15 McCain bills.
Mr. Obama’s most frequent Republican partners were Mr. Lugar, who co-sponsored nine Obama bills, and Sen. Norm Coleman, Minnesota Republican, who signed on to eight of Mr. Obama’s measures.
The bill on which Mr. McCain attracted the most support in the past few years was his plan to combat greenhouse-gas emissions. That bill garnered 16 co-sponsors, 14 of whom were Democrats, including Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., Democrats’ vice-presidential nominee. Mr. Obama himself signed onto another of Mr. McCain’s global-warming bills.
Mr. Obama’s best successes in attracting co-sponsors came on a bill to boost the union’s bargaining power with the Federal Aviation Administration, on which all 38 co-sponsors were Democrats, and a bill to issue a postage stamp honoring Mrs. Parks, which garnered 24 Democrats and 14 Republicans.
The Times study didn’t look at voting, but Congressional Quarterly conducts annual studies of senators’ voting records.
Over his Senate career, Mr. McCain has voted with the majority of Senate Republicans about 85 percent of the time, while in his three years in the Senate Mr. Obama has voted with his party 97 percent of the time.

I wasn’t trying to convince anybody to vote for McCain. I am NOT going to do that, ok? I just was comparing Obama so-called “change” with McCain’s. Actually, I dress like crap, LOL. I’m not a yuppie. I’m a single parent of a special needs child, I’ve become disabled and survive on Disabilty (sometimes I get a little bit of child support, but usually not.) I shop at WalMart. A few days ago I received an absentee voter application which I hadn’t requested. Coincidentally (not) I have changed my Party affilitation from Dem to Indy (only in my state it’s not valid until after the national election). I had been a life-long Dem and have lived in this same house for 42 yrs., have never requested an abentee ballot, nor have I ever been sent one. I absolutely intend to vote in person at my polling place. Given the reports we have heard of voter fraud of all types, I was suspicious to say the least. (When I mentioned the application to my husband, he said you are an absentee Dem. Har, har,)
Anyway, today I called my election board and asked about my voter status and she told me that everything is in order and I am not designated as an absentee voter. I asked her how could I go about making sure that nothing is changed on me before the election. I worry that someone will submit an application in my name and have my ballot sent to tim-buk-to, OH (or-PA). She said I was being paranoid, they have checks so that a person cannot vote twice and I said that’s what I’m afraid of, that my legitimate vote may not count.. It is my one and only vote this year, and I have reason to be paranoid this year. She suggested I call the Dem Party. Yeah sure (the fox and the chicken house deal), but I did take the number, also the # for the Republican party. I hesitated one second and decided to call the Repubs. Talked to a very nice lady who agreed with me that something might not be right. She took my name, address. etc and said she would have the co. chairman look into it and make sure that no absentee ballot is filed in my name. While he is at it, I hope he checks other defectors who might be targets for “irregularites” this year.
I see in the fine print that the absentee ballots will be sent out about 3 weeks before the election. Just about then, I will call my election board again and make sure my status hasn’t changed.

I think with the TWO choices that we have it’s pretty clear who “I” am going to vote for. (and probably most here to be honest). I don’t feel uneasy about my decision at all. It’s a fact that Hillary was robbed of it. The supers ripped it right away. Some here might have a PROBLEM saying they’re going to vote for McCain, but I doubt you’ll find many here (if any) that are voting for obama. Now those that choose to sit at home or not vote for cast their vote for someone else, or write in Hillary are simply giving obama another vote in my opinion. S’ok though. My vote goes to MCCAIN/PALIN! I’m not at all ashamed to say it. As for obama “change” message? He’s such a loser. Nobody can really believe anything he says anymore. Based on an earlier post here today, I will be heading to my local McCain/Palin headquarters to get signs, buttons, etc.
I have also found that the posters available on this site have been excellent conversation starters at my local Saturday morning Farmer’s Market.
I have yet to encounter anyone who is rude or aggressive — I am sensing that there are a large number of people who had an initial, superficial, knee-jerk positive reaction to the Hope and Change schtick who are now taking a closer, more discriminating look at The One.
We have so many facts at our hands, thanks to this site, that it is actually pretty easy to provide a bit of education to the folks who are willing to listen.

As for this bill about sex education…I agree that kindergartners should know about STRANGER DANGER and it’s ok to teach that part in school. HOWEVER at the age of 5 or 6 it’s NOT ok for schools to teach them about inappropriate touching! The parents should do that. All parents have that talk with their kids. It’s just TOO YOUNG to discuss with kids that age.

If Barack Obama loses this election to John McCain – something which, for the first time, I regard as a real possibility – history will point to August 29 as the pivotal moment. That was when Mr McCain announced that Sarah Palin would be his running-mate, and when livid Democrats and their friends in the media voiced their feelings about her and much of the electorate, and gravely harmed their candidate’s prospects.
For Mr McCain to win the election against the odds that faced him pre-Palin – with the economy in the tank and the incumbent Republican president setting records for unpopularity – would be sensational enough. For this to happen because of his vice-presidential pick, a decision that is usually of next to no consequence, beggars belief. The Democrats had to bring all their resources to getting themselves into this fix. They proved equal to the task.
As I argued last week, Mr Obama’s own initial reaction to the Palin nomination was exactly right. All the party had to do was follow his lead. Mr Obama, in effect, would give her enough rope; her inadequacies would reveal themselves in due course; it cost nothing, in the meantime, to be courteous, and to keep pressing on the issues, where the Democrats still enjoy an advantage with most voters. Ms Palin’s first television interview last week, an adequate but far from stellar performance, affirmed the wisdom of that course.
But the Democratic talking-heads had to exult in their disdain for Ms Palin and all she represents – namely, a good part of the electorate whose support Mr Obama needs. In the space of a few days, they irreversibly damaged Mr Obama’s candidacy and transformed this election.
Subsequent developments reflect poorly on both parties, in my view. Are the Democrats learning, and trying to correct their error? No, for the most part, just the opposite. Are the Republicans pressing their advantage with a confident, principled campaign focused on the issues that matter? Again, no.
Certainly, the Democrats can see they are in a hole. Somehow, though, the word has gone out: “Keep digging.” Mr Obama is also urged to be less cool and lose his temper. Voters adore an angry candidate, you see. “Dig faster, and be more angry,” is the advice coming down from the political geniuses who decided it was a fine idea to laugh at Ms Palin in the first place. A recurring television image in the past few days has been the split-screen contrast between a serenely smiling Republican operative and a fulminating red-faced Democrat about to have a stroke.
Efforts to smear the governor proceed at a frantic pace. My guess would be that there are now more journalists on assignment in Alaska than bothered to turn up for the Republican convention in St Paul, sifting through dustbins, interrogating Palin family acquaintances (extra credit for those with a grievance) and subjecting Ms Palin’s expenses claims to a fanatical scrutiny which I dare say their own record-keeping, or that of most senators, might not withstand.
Of course, they will find things. They may even find something important. But the sheer swarming zeal for trivial malfeasance and family embarrassments is rapidly raising the bar for impropriety. I think that many voters – and not just committed Republicans – find this whole spectacle disgusting, so on top of everything else Ms Palin is now getting a sympathy vote.
Among seasoned Democratic politicians, the picture is more mixed. Joe Biden, the vice-presidential nominee, appears to get it. His stump speech has started to include obliging remarks about Ms Palin, which suggests he is approaching the forthcoming television debate in the correct frame of mind. If he can stay polite and respectful while laying bare the gaps in Ms Palin’s knowledge and experience, and by highlighting her positions on social issues, which are unappealing to many centrists, he can undo some of the damage of recent days.
But compare this with the comment of Carol Fowler, chairman of the South Carolina Democratic party, who said late last week that Ms Palin’s main qualification for office was that she has not had an abortion. Brilliant! Even now, with the polls giving their verdict, there is much more like that. And Democrats wonder why they cannot get the debate back on to their issues.
Republicans are not going to help them do it while things are going so well for them. This may be understandable, but let us be clear – this is not to their credit. If Mr McCain were the kind of leader he claims to be, he would want to be elected for his platform. His policy proposals, not his vapid commitment to “change Washington”, would be to the fore. More than this, he would also want to bind the country together, and restore its moral strength and sense of purpose. He would strive to be a unifier. Mr Obama makes that claim, with seeming sincerity, and it is the best thing about his candidacy.
Democrats will deny it, but they opened this new front in the culture war by their response to the Palin nomination. The mess they are in is their own fault. They still seem intent on driving significant numbers of women and moderates over to the other side and Mr McCain’s political instinct is doubtless to help this rift in the electorate widen further. It could be a winning strategy. But good politics is not the same thing as responsible leadership. I intend it as a compliment to Mr McCain when I say that if his means to victory in this election is to divide the country, it is a victory he should not want.

To be totally honest, I’m not sure how any sane person COULD be voting for BO! I mean… his friends, his church, his flip-flops.. just to say a few of the many things! I look at the polls and wonder how so many people can be so blind and dumb. Ok, I was almost blind. Literally. If I didn’t have two cornea transplants from people who donated their eyes I would be totally blind now. I was close to it at the time. I actually am co-owner of a Yahoo support group for the eye disease that almost blinded me and it has over 1200 members from around the world now. However, even though I was almost blind, I wasn’t too blind not to see how dangerous BO is to America! I don’t agree with McCain or Palin on a lot of things; but what difference do any of those things make if America has been bombed out of existence or if all our freedoms we cherish are taken away or if we are taxed into oblivion? What difference will any of those other things make? I watched while the dems STOLE… yes, STOLE… the primary from Hillary. I wonder to this day why she stayed with them after what they did to her. The day she conceded I wondered why she didn’t just chuck them and go independent. I watched while they put up on a pedastle this man who is… in my humble opinion… evil, and did all they could legally or illegally to get him into the white house. Party doesn’t matter. Some individual disagreements on things like abortion or pretty much anything else… don’t matter. This is a matter of life and death here in America. There has never been a time in world history before where a country with nuclear weapons has threatened to destroy America. This is a choice of either destroying America as we know it, and possibly our lives as well, or keeping the best country on earth along with our freedoms. COUNTRY FIRST! The rest is secondary to this. We need to SAVE AMERICA from the hands of BO and his cohorts.

Our economy actually is not bad, now the economy in Europe is very bad except in countries like Ireland, their economy is booming. Did you check the news with the world market today especially Europe? They’re down, all USA have to do is sneeze, the rest of the world end up with pneumonia. The US economy is solid, it is a self contained country, you can’t say the same thing about other countries. Collapse of Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae is actually good for this country in the long run. It will create new jobs, heavy investment within the US instead of investors going overseas. USA is the biggest economy in the world. This would push for opening our natural resources to move towards renewable energy, new design of engines for our vehicles which eventually put people back to work. But never expect this to happen overnight.
The only people who might feel a bit of panic are those who invested their money in one spot instead of diversifying it.

I lived all over the west coast and stayed in the most beautiful places, often living out of my backpack, in a tent somewhere, or on communes.It all seemed very fun and romantic then.
But now, I will soon turn 65 and the prospect isn’t quite so glamorous. Living just one check away from being homeless is very frightening. Especially knowing that resources are strapped to the limits and have been for 20 years. Every shelter in this town is filled to maximum capacity and they turn people away every night.

I assume you mean except for the people who have already lost their homes in foreclosure and whose towns are struggling since all of the jobs left to go over seas. Who also can not afford the gas to drive out of town to work everyday. Because I think these people (keep in mind I am one of them) might not see that they should have diversified.
There are many women learning to shoot at my local range. The majority learning are for protection!!! When our constitutional rights were in jeoparday, many women started going to the ranges. Gun sales are up! And the Concealed Weapons classes are full. Why you ask? Because I, for one, am scared!!! I have never believed before that I would need to protect myself until this year when BO was “selected”. I don’t hunt, and when we bass fish we use the “catch and release” method unless we plan on eating them!!

On game days it was difficult to get anywhere anytime during the day….. although on game days all the restaurants always had great specials going on! I know that it was not unusual for a cop to jump out in the middle of the street and stop traffic. Didn’t have a clue what it was until one day when I was at the front of the line and saw a PACKER was CROSSING THE STREET. During practice days the sidewalks by the practice field were always 10-12 people deep. The first time I saw that I wondered what had just happened that such a huge crowd was there… you couldn’t even tell there was a practice field on the other side of them because people were standing so thick. Yes, Brett is gone now. I wish he had stayed retired as a Packer so that he would always be known as a Packer. I think that (so far) Aaron is doing pretty good though.

I don’t think Americans would have a stampede going to Mexico right now especially KIDNAPPING is a growing business for criminals. They have a strict laws in Mexico, foreigners are not allowed to work there if you don’t have a permit. When I spent 4 months vacation in Mexico, I was surprise to see poverty at different level, selling of cocaine right out in the open. What makes crime in Mexico hard to combat, cops themselves are involve with criminals.

The whole right side of my body has been momentarily afflicted by SPS, Sudden Paralysis Syndrome.
As I’ve said before, I started understanding the brutal truth about the Dems about and a year and a half ago as they came out screaming about the Housing “Crisis”.
The high cost of homes had driven many people into taking on designed-to-fail toxic mortgages. From ’97-late 2005, TPTB were able to keep the housing/lending bubble going by progressively DECIMATING lending standards.
Many many people went into foreclosure pre- 2005. However, since the banks were still able, from the late 90′s- 2005, to keep lowering lending standards more and more, they were able to keep home price inflation going.
In other words, a foreclosure pre-2005 meant you lost your home, the bank took it back and RESOLD the property for an even greater profit.
Your situation: You lost your home
Banks’ situation: Sell the home for even more profit than they could have last year.
Politicians’ response: YAY!!!
Silly me, as a koolaid- drinking, Republican -hating, Democrat for three decades, I naturally assumed that the Dems would come out on the side of working Americans and point out, when the Bubble started bursting, that this was a Housing CORRECTION (not crisis) that would, after 10 plus years of a housing/credit bubble, FINALLY bring home prices back to what people could actually AFFORD.
The “American Dream” is to OWN your home. If you are paying interest to the bank, make no mistake about it, the BANK owns your home, you are a glorified renter.
The drop in home prices , which the Dems insisted on framing as a “Crisis” was/is in fact the the SOLUTION to the average Americans’ economic woes.
HOWEVER, the drop in home prices was a MAJOR problem for the Banks and Wall Street, the very entities that CAUSED home prices to inflate to Never_Before_ Seen multiples of income.
When lenders had finally reached the point where they could go no lower on “standards”, that is there _were_ no “standards” anymore, the Housing Bubble burst.
Your situation: You lose your home
Banks situation: They have to take back a home that, no matter what they do, they cannot raise the price higher for greater profits. Banks begin to take losses. Steep losses for their absolute recklessness and, I believe, criminal behavior.
Politicians’ Response:
There were two: The important one was Private and led to all subsequent ACTIONS taken by the Dems in Congress.The second was the Public and led to their RHETORIC.
Private Political ACTION response: Holy Sh*t, it’s not just homeowners taking the hit anymore, now the banks are taking it on the chin too! WE MUST DO SOMETHING!ANYTHING! to help the Banks!
Public RHETORICAL response: “Oh, You poor hardworking Americans who are going into foreclosure. We must do something to help you STAY in Your (overpriced) home!!!We Feel Your Pain!
Note: the Banks no longer wanted your home back now that they could not unload it for more money than last year. In fact, the banks were becoming innundated by losses on foreclosed homes.
So the Dems, instead of advising you to save yourself and screw the bank, by getting out of that home you could not possibly afford, advised you to stay and try to work out a different payment plan. Tighten the noose around your neck a bit tighter.
Because, God Forbid, the Dems Banking masters should suffer the consequences of their own business decisions or their own piggish greed.
No, the Dems wanted YOU, the American People, to pay for the Banks and Wall Streets crimes.
When I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears Barack Obama in a CNBC interview shortly after his nomination say this: “The US Government needs to put a FLOOR under home prices” , I knew I could never vote for that ass. He is Wall Streets’ whore.
And when I watched the Fannie/Freddie Bailout proceedings on C-span in July, the whole frickin’ three brutal hours of of it, and saw so many Republicans come out and speak, very eloquently, on the immorality of asking the American People to pay for the crimes of Wall Street, I noticed that, lo and behold, the Dems , despite their lying rhetoric, are in fact, ANTI – American People.
And when I saw the final vote tally for the Fannie/Freddie Bailout:
Dems: Yea…229/Nay…3
Repubs: Yea:…45/Nay…149
I knew we had 149 Republican Representatives who, when the going gets rough and push comes to shove, will choose the American People over Wall Street. And only 3- THREE!- Dems who would do the same.
I then called one of the three Dems (Marcy Kaptur, D.OH) who had voted against Wall Street and for the people, thanked her profusely for her courage and suggested that she, along with the other 2 Dems and the 149 Republicans quit both parties and form a brand new party. A party that was squarely on the side of the people against all these big moneyed interests.
Barack has two strikes against him as far as the economy goes:
1) he’ll screw you silly every time your interests collide with those of Wall Street.
2) he’ll try to force more and more of the population into that low low rung of “Powerless and on the government dole”. The more unproductive, dependent people a country has, the easier it is for Big Money to enslave the population.
If you are a member of the tippy-top of the economic ladder (and I mean way way more than 500k household), Obamanomics will be great for you. In fact, within a few short years, you’ll probably own everything from sea to shining sea.
For the rest of us- 95% of the population, Obamanomics is death.

I don’t know if it is true or not, but I have spoken to people about this before. We think the Democratic leadership knows that the poll numbers are worse than the ones that are being reported. In other words, they have the real polls. That’s why they are in panic mode.

Over the last 8 years I’ve watched the social services and environmental recovery programs in our state become nearly bankrupt because the Monies have been TAKEN & used for Iraq – a big VACUUM cleaner in the SKY is the way I visualize our state’s (& other states) budget getting cleaned out by the Feds.
I helped a nonprofit group apply for a grant to improve fish habitat for salmon & the grant was approved only to be TAKEN AWAY because “money was taken for Iraq.”
For what? For an unnecessary war, while Cheney et al soak up the profits from an unspeakably WRONG war chest.
“Spend spend spend” became the war cry of the Republican Party for the last 8 years in a way none of us ever IMAGINED in our worst NIGHTMARES could take place. And still no matter how much money they SQUANDERED on an unnecessary & immoral war they sent our SOLDIERS unequipped right into the line of fire.
In summary:

The Dems have _already_pushed MANY small business owners out of business in the past year.

Banking investment is very shaky. My family is in banking business in Asia, our family founded the bank in the 60′s, it goes up and down like a yoyo, it will shake your nerves 24/7. Alhtough I have a little investment there (family loyalty) I kissed my money goodbye years ago. When loans are not paid on time and you foreclose the property, the bank loses money. If you’re a borrower you would think the bank is making a profit if they foreclose your property; the only way they make a profit out of it if they can sell it for profit. If the property stays stagnant for a long time that is negative for the bank.
In addition, for example foreclosed homes, when there’s no occupant, the value of the house goes down due to deterioration of unkept property.

Regulators here did not regulate and the Banking Committe, as well as Financial Services Committes did not do a damn thing about that for years either. Who headed those committees and still do…Dodd, Kerry on it and Barney Frank..Where have these committees been all of these years? Comments from the Berg lawsuit. An answer is simply the opposing party’s reply to a complaint. They will go line by line down the complaint and say that they agree or contest the allegations. This is a civil suit so the judge is not going to grant any discovery requests until they have a hearing with all the parties present. My guess is that that may not occur before the election.
The orders that are online are simply the orders that Berg drafted. The court may dismiss the lawsuit before they even order any discovery. Both the DNC and Obama could tell the court they are too busy to even deal with the lawsuit until after November.
Since Obama is a public figure, the standard for showing defammation is very high. In short, I really don’t think anyone should expect anything from this lawsuit before the election. I’m sorry to dampen anyone’s hopes about this lawsuit but I have practiced law for quite some time.

The Democrats met with Ben Bernanke – current head of the Federal Reserve, (and the new Allan Greenspan, architecht of the housing bubble).
Everyone (at the top) knew that the whole financial system would collapse if Americans were ever able to buy homes that they could really afford to buy again.
So the Dems sat across from Bernanke and asked “Mr. Bernanke, how can we help?”
Bernanke, with a straight face said, “Raise the Fannie/Freddie limits to one million dollars”.
The Dems did not flinch. The next thing we Americans knew, Fannie/Freddie, an organization that was invented to support homeownership for LOWER INCOME Americans, had lifted its’ limits from 425K (already absurdly high) to 725K.
The list of sins goes on and on and on. That is one sick group of people. But the Dems have had an excellent PR /indoctrination program going for years to actually make otherwise smart people believe that THEY care about us more than the Republicans.
And to be fair, they’ve had an awful lot of help from the Chimperor the past 8 years. It’s damn hard for anybody to look bad when contrasted with Bush.

Are you saying that if the judge does not grant the discovery before the election then for all practical purposes it is dead? I think Berg will pursue it even after the election if the judge grants discovery on the issues. What do you think? Have you read his suit and are you making your judgement based on your experience and/or the suit and experience? I am simply curious re your thoughts here.

If these investment bankers and brokers are not so greedy they could have averted it. They could have lower the borrowers payment into half, at least the person can still pay their monthly mortgage but instead of shortening the years for them to pay off their mortgage it would be longer. It is downright greed what happen to collapse of our housing. These investment house are selling notes left and right, all after of making more profit from the same property while tightening the noose around a borrower’s neck. The borrower can’t afford anymore to pay their mortgage as the interest rate keep on rising, they have no choice but to give up their home. The goose that used to lay a golden eggs quit laying eggs, housing market collapsed. Now they’re stuck with freaking notes due to lack of regulation from banking committee in Congress who sits down and fiddle with their fingers not minding the store.

Clinton mentioned Palin just twice in speeches here and in Akron, in one instance repeating an earlier line: “No way, no how, no McCain and no Palin.”
Since the Republican convention, Clinton has pointedly avoided directly criticizing Palin as she campaigns for Obama (D-Ill.), a strategy endorsed by the Obama campaign. The goal, Obama campaign strategists said, is to refocus the race on Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and to avoid a clash between the two women. Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.), who has been overshadowed since Palin’s selection, is expected to add to that effort with sharper attacks against McCain this week.
Palin remained in the headlines on Sunday even as she spent the day in Denver without any public events. The Alaska governor has been spending her down time with McCain staffers and former aides to President Bush preparing for her next interview — with conservative radio host Sean Hannity on Tuesday — and for the vice presidential debate on Oct. 2.
McCain attended a NASCAR event in New Hampshire, where he met with drivers before the race. “Thank you for your support for the men and women in the military,” McCain told the drivers. “When I’m in Iraq and Afghanistan, they’re watching you. You are their role model.”
Obama did not have any public events Sunday, but his campaign continued its recent effort to discredit both members of the Republican ticket. Obama aides mocked the McCain campaign after Palin on Friday misstated how much Alaska contributes to the national energy supply, a day after McCain said she “knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America.”
Palin said Alaska provides 20 percent of the national supply, but the Obama campaign circulated an assessment by the nonpartisan FactCheck.org saying that that assertion is “not true, not even close,” with Alaska providing 3.5 percent.
Both Obama and Palin will spend part of this week in a handful of Western battlegrounds. Obama will campaign in Grand Junction and Pueblo, Colo., on Monday and then has stops in New Mexico and Nevada, where Palin held a rally Saturday night. Obama plans to target Latino voters and women on his swing, while Palin has been emphasizing her kinship with the Western ethos.
At a campaign stop in Carson City, Nev., on Saturday night, Palin played up the lifestyle similarities between her state and Nevada. She mentioned that her husband, Todd, is a pilot, and that they named their third daughter Piper after his plane. She praised Chuck Yeager as the first pilot to break the sound barrier, adding that maybe now a woman can break another glass ceiling — ascending to the second-highest office in the country. She noted that the event site was, at other times, a roller hockey rink.
“I think I’m looking at a whole lot of hockey moms for McCain here!” Palin said.
Campaigning on her own, Palin drew thousands to her appearance, though the crowd appeared to be well smaller than the 10,000 that Nevada Lt. Gov. Brian K. Krolicki declared were there. (A McCain campaign aide had said about 3,500 were expected.)
In Ohio, more than 1,000 supporters waited in line for hours to cram into the stuffy atrium of a community college to listen to Clinton, with hundreds more ushered into an overflow auditorium.
While supporters were mixed about whether Clinton should directly assail Palin’s views on issues that affect women, they were adamant that no Clinton supporter would back Palin.
“They couldn’t be more different,” Barbara Price said. “It’s important everyone know the facts, because the facts have to win out–and Hillary stands for working people and so does Obama.”
Of course, Price added, Obama “would have had a better go of it had he picked Hillary for his running mate.”

I am a real estate appraiser. I have worked somewhere in the housing industry continually since 1975. Housing goes in cycles just like everything else. Housing booms usually occur during a large growth cycle, and following one for a time. Then there is always a decline when the market gets saturated.
This last housing boom was created by the financial markets, not the need for housing. That is, it was artifically created by manipulation of the markets by governmental stimulus in the form of incentives offered to banks, the influx of foreign investment, and the loosening of lender regulations. The underlying economy fed off of the housing markets, not the other way around. It should have been the other way around.
I started tracking this upside down mess in 2001. By 2003, I was certain we were headed for trouble. In 2004, I saw the first big wave of foreclosures. The industry and the Bush Administration ignored it. Then came 2005, with more foreclosures, more lost jobs, etc, and still the Bushes and the Bankers ignored it. They kept pouring more and more money into the market trying to prop it up. They should have tightened money and regulations right there. They should have reigned in Freddy and Fanny and forced them to comply with reasonable regulations and not to rely so much on foreign investors.
By the end of 2006, the housing market in virtually the whole country was sliding down into depressed status. Since housing is one of the stalwarts of the economy, the banks that wrote all that bad paper have to fail. If the foreign investors had stayed, they might have salvaged it, had they acted soon enough, but the foreigners have pulled their money out and put it elswhere, probably in oil.
At any rate, the housing boom followed by a bust is what the unfettered market place does. All the predatory lending, the displaced homeowners, and the failed banks was predictable.
Have we reached the bottom? I don’t know. I see some local markets stabilizing, but now with this news, they may slide further.
When this thing does stabalize, it will lead to a long recovery with more solid value. This market will likely reset at 20+% below what it is now. So, if you bought a house in 2006, at the peak of the madness, you probably owe more on it than it is worth unless you put a substantial amount down.

Re the mortgage crisis. To be honest, I think the consruction companies have a lot to do with it too. Time was when they didn’t build a house until someone put in an order for one. The past year or so I’m seeing whole new streets, and whole new almost- CITIES, that didn’t exist before with all new houses that are built by construction companies with for sale signs in front being sold by the contractor. In my small city (pop 11,000) we must have over 1,000 of these new houses empty that nobody ever ordered. I was worried what would happen with all these houses being built that nobody ordered. That even MORE SO encouraged people to move to all these new houses!

I skimmed over the suit. My comments are based on my knowledge of civil cases. I don’t think that it will matter that Berg says it is time sensitive. My guess is that the judge will say that it was up to the party to vet Obama. Courts do not like time pressures. In addition, it is not in the interests of this judge to stick his head out and order anything before the election. Most judges are thinking about what they can do to get promoted to a higher court. A Republican president will not promote him for decertifying Obama because it would like like a reward. A Democratic president would definitely not promote him.
Even forgetting about the position that the judge is in, the biggest problem is that the courts are so backed up in this country, the civil cases take years to make it through the courts. So most of my comments are based on my knowledge of court dockets and the typical timing of civil cases.

She did not want to stop to refuel the smaller jet and she needed the Boeing 757 that could fly from Washington DC to San Francisco non stop. The 757 takes takes about 11,489 gallons of gas. I do not know how many gallons are used each way but if it is a total of 11,489 at a $4 a gallon that means every trip from DC to San Francisco costs around $90,000. That does not include the cost of the flight crew.

It’s just so sad to see too many people believe OB will change the economy. What economic experences does he have? All his so called plans(the format) were from Hillary’s. He is a pure NADA. All he knows is how to use the mafia way to destroy the Clintons. Right now, people are desperate because of the broken economy, and OB takes advantages of his big words. I just can’t imagine how the country is going to be totally bankrupt if this big NAND wins, because he has no ideas how the economy runs. I just hope McCain will show more detailed economic plans, so more people will be confident.

Most of you know Soros is the one who sold nobo that expensie piece of property at a VERY low price. The property was next to nobo’s house and nobo wanted to expasnd his yard. Soros price paid a very high price for a secondary property also next to nobo’s but she paid about 5x or 6x more than nobo and they closed on the same day. Go figure….

A single judge, standing alone, will not want to stick his/her neck out. If some major non-profit law group had signed on to this lawsuit rather than or in addition to a single lawyer, a judge might have taken the risk and acted. But typically, judges would not intervene before an election. A single judge would not want to overturn the will of the people-whatever that will is. This is just my opinion and others may have a different opinion. I have hesitated to comment on this suit before but I am doing so now because I think people are getting their hopes up too high thinking this lawsuit is going to cause a court to remove Obama from the race.

A white male was interviewed and was asked would he vote for a candidate who wants change. His response was that the only change he could see is a black man holding a cup.

Wrote a quick draft for a letter to the editor a few days ago and posted it on the blog. In light of the latest news regarding Lehman Bros, etc, I’m reposting it in case anyone wants to add, edit, embellish and use as they see fit. Since I drafted the letter, things have changed and I see scrolling through the posts that there are some hard numbers folks can plug into the letter if they choose:

To whom it may concern:
Senator Obama has a track record of talking about the need to get big money out of politics. Not so very long ago, he was in support of accepting only public financing for his campaign. He boasts of having a “grassroots” organization.
But the facts reveal something quite different from the lofty words. The senator from Illinois declined John McCain’s invitation to agree to accept public financing. And, it appears that the Obama campaign is funded by some of the largest, most powerful multinational corporations in America. He does not raise tens of millions of dollars a month from the little people of his presumably grassroots organization. No. Instead, he is funded by the likes of Lehman Bros, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan Chase among countless others.
In this, and so many other ways, Senator Obama appears to speak out of two sides of his mouth, saying one thing, but doing quite another.
How can any thinking person trust this individual? How can anyone truly say what it is that he stands for?
I grew up knowing that actions spoke louder than words and Senator Obama’s actions speak volumes.
Let there be no mistake lest anyone have any doubt, Senator Obama is not fit for the most awesome job of President of the Untied States and Commander in Chief. He simply can’t be trusted.

Boycotting Oprah and cancelling subscriptions to Oprah is good as a gesture. However, as Oprah’s people say, it has not done anything to their bottom line. It is the revenue that they get from advertising dollars – advertising from their show and their magazines.. Those are where the big dollars make the big differences in their finances.
If we target their advertisers and state real clearly our reasons why and we tell them that we are going with their competitors brand, this would hurt the corporations. They would stop advertising in Oprah. Thats when their revenue will see a drop- quickly.

We are going to lose this election if Barack does not change his strategy. I live here in Clearwater, Florida and all I see is McCain/Palin signs. Where is Barack’s presence? If he continues to associate McCain with Bush, and McCain runs as a reformer, people are going to vote for McCain! Then he has to relate to older Americans with old adages or cliches they can relate to, like, “Voting for McCain to reform the economic policies, is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.” I pray he starts thinking outside the box soon, or we will have four more years of the same.

Lots of PUMAs are individually boycotting Oprah(cancelling subscriptions, etc.) No one, that I have seen on blog, has taken it upon themselves to organize an Oprah boycott… that is find out who her sponsors are, organize the list and submit it for addition to the Action Center.
Mary Gallegos, would you like to get the ball rolling? I don’t watch Oprah (any more), but I’d happily boycott the products of her sponsors, and write letters to the CEOs of the parent companies.

I received a response from the AG of Florida in response to my letter questioning BO’s citizenship. I was advised to contact the Florida EC in Tallahassee and also the FEC in DC. Also, was advised I might want to hire an attorney.
Sent my senators a letter regarding the same thing, Sen. Mica (R) answered that he doesn’t know of any reason he is not a citizen and that Hillary’s campaign would have brought it up. That’s not an answer, I asked for specific info and didn’t get it. As far as Bill Nelson, I had to refax the letter again today. But I must say, the woman asked my name and when I gave it to her, she had a whole file of letters on me!

This is the letter I send my congressmen. I did not write it and don’t know where I got it. It may have come from NoQuarter but it was online and everyone was asked to send it to their congressmen.
I would like to request your help to ascertain the qualifications of one of the presidential candidates for the office of president of the United States under the Constitution of the United States. Significant questions have been raised about the authenticity of the birth certificate for Barack Obama by document experts, for the image posted by his campaign as his official birth certificate on his website and on Daily Kos. The image errors are discussed at http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/07/atlas-exclusive.html. On the Obama campaign website, the campaign blacked out the certificate number with no explanation.
These questions have raised doubt in my mind, and that of many other U.S. citizens, on two points:
A) Is Barack Obama qualified for the candidacy under Article Two, Section 1 of the Constitution with regards to being a natural born citizen, i.e. is there a valid birth certificate?
B) Has Barack Obama misrepresented his birth certificate to the American public on his website, apart from the veracity of the original document?
The first question is a legal question on Obama’s qualification to become president, apart from politics, and must be resolved before the election. The second is a subjective issue, but is so directly tied to the first that it should be included in the inquiries requested below.
The first question above applies to all candidates, and I would welcome extension of the inquiries requested below to all candidates registered with the Federal Election Commission should you or the recipients decide.
As your constituent and a registered voter, I am requesting you to take the following actions immediately:
Your investigation of these questions:
1) Send an official letter to Barack Obama transmitting your constituent’s concern, and requesting a review of an original, stamped and certified copy of the birth certificate.
2) Send an official request to the Hawaii Secretary of State to produce, verify, and provide for review an independent official copy of the birth certificate, stamped and certified as per normal state procedure. Please note you can request Mr. Obama’s birth certificate directly, as qualifying under Hawaii Revised Statutes § 338-18 has having “a direct and tangible interest” in the record, and as a super delegate to the Democratic National Convention this month, you have a clear legal interest in knowing if he is a valid candidate.
3) Introduce legislation requiring candidates in the future to present evidence to the Federal Election Commission proving they meet the requirements of the Constitution for the federal office they are seeking, upon initial registration and that all candidates for federal office must present valid identification including a brith certificate and that they be fingerprinted and that the identification information be publicly available. They should also sign an oath that they meet the requirements, as we do in many parts of our daily lives. This would apply to presidential candidates, senators, and representatives. The citizens of the United States should not have to pursue these questions in a partisan atmosphere, on an ad hoc basis, when they are required by the Constitution.
An investigation by the Federal Elections Commission:
3) Send a letter to the Federal Election Commissions requesting they investigate the first question (A): is Barack Obama a citizen. If the FEC responds they do not have jurisdiction, please require them to indicate who, in their official view, has jurisdiction to enforce that section of the Constitution for candidates.
An investigation by the Committee on House Administration:
4) Send a letter to the committee of U.S. House of Representatives with oversight responsibility for U.S. election integrity, the Committee on House Administration, presenting these concerns in the Appendix and requesting a formal investigation and oversight hearings to determine the truth about this presidential candidate’s qualifications. Again, these questions may be asked of all registered candidates.
Resolving this question is of the utmost importance to the government of our country, and is extremely time-sensitive since the Democratic National Convention is this month, and the national election is 2 weeks away, I understand this is a major request, but it may determine who is the next president of the United States, so I ask your utmost urgency and attention to this letter. This will help the elections in the future as well.
7. Forward all info to Action Center.

I just bought for only about $15.00 from Amazon.com the following book. It came yesterday. “The Case Against Barack Obama” by David Freddoso. It’s an excellent current report of some 290 pages.
Among other things on page 163 we have the following: “Michelle Obama’s employer, University of Chicago Hospitals, raised her pay from $121,910 in 2004 to $316,962 in 2005, two months after her husband became a U.S. Senator. Barack Obama would later request a $1 million federal earmark for the hospital.” Her job is public relations. There’s a lot more in this book.

It seems that sexism is popping out its ugly head everywhere, and in almost everything I am involved with. Help! A film I am getting ready to shoot (my first speaking role) is suddenly filled with sexist remarks from everyone and I stand alone. Could you or some other talented Puma make a new flyer for the action center that is geared towards women voters? Anti BO. Promoting Puma.
Here is what I had in mind to do with it. I am going to a Pro football game in a couple of weeks. If I could print out some flyers, I would take them, a hundred or so, and tape them to the inside door of the bathroom stalls. Each stall probably gets used 10 or 20 times each during the game, maybe more. With 100 flyers we could reach 1,000 or 2,000 women in a matter of hours. I feel the flyer should not be too “busy”. Just a few key points. After all they are in the “john”. What do you think?

Well, here’s the thing about boycotting. Part of it is contacting these sponsors and threatening you will boycott.
It’s the threat that clues them in, sometimes more than the boycott. If you can threaten big enough (many people) and also warn that you will publish your thoughts and share your thoughts with your family and friends…it bothers them.
Also, never ever speak to a lowly person on the phone, or write to any bottom workers. Always contact the top three-five and cc your message to all of the five.

I think what he was saying was spot on. McCain IS coming out with a few dumb ads … like the “Lipstick on a Pig” one. There’s way more issue based topics that he can use for his ads … I think Rove was just trying to make that point.

3. Click on “contact us” (sometimes in small print at the bottoms) and/or search around on the site to see if it notes who the President or CEO is (usually they don’t say that on the web site).
4. Write down all the contact info you can find.
5. During normal business hours, call the toll free number and ask for the name and contact info for the President or CEO. Ask if there is an e-mail address for them. (Usually there won’t be.) If not, confirm snail mail and/or fax info.

Guilt and fear mongering seems to be the staple of the current DNC and Democrats. I am tired of both Roe Wade and the race card. First let’s address Roe & Wade. Ask that they post the info with a heading that’s easy to find. Someone needs to be responsible for gathering the info and storing it in a word doc. Also, need to decide who’s calling 800 numbers to get names of CEO’s.
Need to decide who’s drafting a letter, or if everyone will just write their own.

Ok, I’m a republican. I said that when I joined. I want to say, though, that I think the country (as a whole) is sick and tired of both democrat AND republican and want compromises and concessions to get something accomplished. The democrats… yes, AND the republicans… lately have just sat and spunked when the proposal (or candidate such as a judge) isn’t completely “up to snuff” for THEIR requirements. What that accomplishes is nothing but deadlock and bad feelings. What this country is starving for… and NEEDS DESPERATELY…. is both sides make a little compromise either way and actually doing something for the good of the nation. What we need is COUNTRY FIRST and PARTY SECOND. I say this at the risk of getting kicked out of here. I hope not, though.

I agree. I am a democrat, I guess. After this year I’m NOT so sure. I happen to lean left on social issues but lean right on fiscal issues. I have voted for Repubs in the distant past. My guess is that the vast majority of the country still falls into the center somewhere – hence the true need for some viable third party to step out ofthe shadows and actually speak to us here in the middle.
Actually I would right now consider myself an independant unless and until that viable third party comes along.

MLK wasn’t trying to change a political party, he was trying to change the NATION. That is, in fact, what the main idea of my 756 post was. COUNTRY FIRST. I know, this is a democrat group. My point, I guess, is to perhaps be aware that extreme dem., just like extreme repub, isn’t getting anything done. It’s only when they meet in the middle that things can get done that will get this country back on track.

I so agree with you about deflation. Deflation is the ONLY thing that will help American people get back on their feet again eventually.
Deflation will bring the cost of higher ed down to where you do not need a loan. In the 70′s and much of the 80′s, a student could work summers and pay for a whole year of tuition and board! No such thing as graduating already underwater on a loan.
Deflation will bring the cost of homes back to 2X income, which is where they need to be for solid, stable neighborhoods and communities.
Deflation will bring the costs of starting a small business down.
Deflation will bring the cost of food and fuel down.
Deflation means prices are low enough so that people can afford to buy what they need to live with MONEY. They do not need loans. Thus the banks do not make a killing from your interest payments.
And this is what terrifies me about Obamanomics: Every single thing that he has said about the economy tells me that he is going to fight deflation tooth and nail. Just like the Dems in Congress have done for the past year.
And what did that get for us? Climbing food and fuel prices! Inflation. It worked!
I feel safer with McCain because, so far, he has said NOTHING to indicate that he agrees with the inflationary path to get us out of this mess. Which is probably why he wasn’t invited to Bilderberg.
Also, I heard on CNN that Palin voted for Ron Paul in the Primaries. He was the ONLY candidate, from any party, who had any clear understanding of how dangerous inflation is for those on the lower rungs of society. Or the dangers of the Federal Reserve and banking system to the average American, etc. Which makes me think she probably understands what the real problem is.
