Blog Roundup: Saturday, September 13th Edition

Good morning/afternoon folks! Hope you are all well and working your prowls, or enjoying whatever it is you’re doing this lovely Saturday. I know all eyes are on Texas right now, where it is anything but lovely. Whatever goodwill you may offer, whether you pray or send good thoughts and hope for a better tomorrow, I’m sure it is much appreciated.

Today we’re offering a blog roundup for those interested in what’s being said in the quiet little corners of the Internet. This is where the coal of our discourse is being pressed into diamonds as we speak. There are a few diamonds in the rough, but most of these sparkling gems are already finished, they were just waiting for someone to dig them out. These are our foot soldiers in this war of rhetoric, so give ‘em some traffic and some comments, if you can. So without further ado, modified and re-posted from Peacocks and Lilies:

I don’t know about you, but I’m about outraged out. Of course, I haven’t turned the TV on yet, or listened to radio’s boarhounds yet. But I have found some pretty good stuff around the Internet.

We’ll start this blog roundup with Joseph over at Cannonfire. He’s documenting the atrocities coming from Democrats this year. Remember way back when documenting atrocities was Atrios’ job?

But back to Cannonfire. You really want to read that post. Here’s a teaser:

In decades to come, objective observers will look at today’s pseudo-”progressive” movement with unmitigated disgust.

Since silence equals complicity, I hold ALL Obots responsible for these smear campaigns. I have never seen a major post or editorial by a left-wing writer excoriating these lies. Instead, the Obots dare to accuse McCain of engaging in “swiftboat tactics,” even though the Obots themselves have manned the swiftboats since December.

You aren’t going to want to miss all the debunking going on over there, including the debunking of this shocking smear tactic right here, from Obama’s campaign itself. (Since updated)

Next up is Bud White, from Bud White’s World, in which Bud snarks on the 50-State strategy, which has become another casualty in this election-war. Then he analyzes why they had to kill it, and why they should have known it was just ear-candy for Progressive Dudes. A sliver to whet your appetite:

A narrative was developed in the blogosphere that Obama, unlike Hillary, would be able to touch the hearts of red state conservatives and turn them into Democrats. Hillary was too polarizing, it was argued, and she would be fighting for Kerry’s states plus 1.

It was mandatory at dailykos to believe that Obama was a map-changer. A diarist from North Dakota named Ab2kgj, in a post which would be funny if it weren’t so painful, suggested that Obama had a real shot at grabbing that state:

Yep, basically what I’ve been thinking about for a while now.

Clyde over at Clyde’s Place articulates perfectly the problem with Gloria Steinem’s LA Times hit piece. To wit:

Steinem compounds her problems by making the same mistake so many other so called defenders of women’s rights have made over the past few days. She discards all logic and states that because she (Palin) agrees with McCain, that somehow makes her unworthy of being a vice-presidential pick. In other words, if you aren’t Democrat, or if your views might stray a bit from what the Steinem viewpoint is, then instead of vying to become vice president you should be home baking an apple pie, putting on a negligee and taking care of your man.

That pretty much nails it for me. The Democratic Party is so sexist, even its so-called leading feminists will join the pile on, trying to keep conservative women tied to their children and their kitchen. Well, we did ask for more transparency in government, but I don’t this is exactly what we meant. Now we know. Democrats suck for women, and apparently the party turns them into some sort of twisted Stockholm Victim-mentality mannequins. No thanks, Gloria.

Don’t miss LadyBoomerNYC’s offering, a fantastic take on life post-anti-Convention. Here’s a slice of her wonderful and moving narrative:

I hesitated protectively, having lived undercover using my handle for so long that I had to consciously produce my real name in my head before saying it. “Actually, I’ve been doing a lot of writing most of the year, political writing. Do you know what blogs are? I have a blog and contribute to other sites and efforts.”

They continued the conversation as they scurried about their business, “Oh really, and who were you supporting for President?”

My personal self gulped inside my political self having been so underground and divided, “Actually, I was supporting Hillary Clinton, working to get her elected. I still support her and believe she would make the best President.”

They both jumped to attention and gravitated back to the counter to face me, “Really? We’re for her too!”

(See why I can’t stop?) “That’s great,” I cooed, as I came clean, telling them about my blog and links to others, our efforts prior to and during Denver, and our work to ensure a roll call, a floor vote, and a record of the truth about this election.

They pointed out to me, “It’s just like 2000, Gore and Bush!”

But go read the whole thing. It’s the kind of analysis-couched-in-personal-stories that has been driving the Creative Nonfiction genre for several years now. Wonderful stuff. LadyB, you so deserve to be published and paid for what you do.

For all you McKinney-supporting PUMAs out there, Tennessee Guerrilla Woman has a post up on McKinney speaking about election integrity. You remember elections integrity, don’t you? Lack of it is what we used to blame Republicans for in 2000, before the Dem guy did it too in 2008, and not even to the other side, but to one of his own.

This little gem from SugarNSpice must not be overlooked. This post comments on the meaning of and reaction to Palin’s use of the term “Community Organizer,” then takes a really close look at Obama’s accomplishments as a community organizer. Read it, know it, re-tell it. That’s how narrative-building works.

And finally, because this is the most satisfying jumble of words I’ve read in months:

The Democrats are in a panic. In a presidential race that is impossible to lose, they are

behind. Obama devotees are frantically giving advice. Tom Friedman tells him to “start  slamming down some phones.” Camille Paglia suggests, “be boring!”

Meanwhile, a posse of Democratic lawyers, mainstream reporters, lefty bloggers, and various other Obamaphiles are scouring the vast tundra of Alaska for something, anything, to bring down Sarah Palin: her daughter’s pregnancy, her ex-brother-in-law problem, her $60 per diem, and now her religion. (CNN reports — news flash! — that she apparently has never spoken in tongues.) Not since Henry II asked if no one would rid him of his turbulent priest, have so many so urgently volunteered for duty.

But Palin is not just a problem for Obama. She is also a symptom of what ails him. Before Palin, Obama was the ultimate celebrity candidate. For no presidential nominee in living memory had the gap between adulation and achievement been so great. Which is why McCain’s Paris Hilton ads struck such a nerve. Obama’s meteoric rise was based not on issues — there was not a dime’s worth of difference between him and Hillary on issues — but on narrative, on eloquence, on charisma.

The unease at the Denver convention, the feeling of buyer’s remorse, was the Democrats’ realization that the arc of Obama’s celebrity had peaked — and had now entered a period of its steepest decline. That Palin could so instantly steal the celebrity spotlight is a reflection of that decline.

It was inevitable. Obama had managed to stay aloft for four full years. But no one can levitate forever.

Much has been discussed about John McCain not being able to use a computer and in an ad from the Barack Obama campaign (shown above) it says, “Can’t send an email,” referencing McCain. An article in Boston.com from 2000, shows shows McCain cannot type on a keyboard.
It took a blogger from The Corner less than a day to find an article in Boston.com that references John McCain injuries from Vietnam, showing he cannot tie his shoes, comb his hair properly or “typing on a keyboard,” stating it was because of his severe war injuries, which limit his ability to do certain things with his hands.

McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan – Ted Williams is his hero – but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

One has to wonder if anyone at the Obama campaign knows how to use a search engine.

Here’s another blood pressure raiser for the morning.

Newsbusters got ahold of the entire ABC Palin interview transcript. To say that they edited the piece shown on TV to paint Palin in a negative light would be an understatement.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2008/09/13/abc-news-edited-out-key-parts-sarah-palin-interview

There was also a piece posted in yesterday’s thread from a feminist web site that provided an excellent comparison of the interview Gibson did with Obama versus the one he did with Palin.

The MSM isn’t even trying to pretend it is impartial anymore. Truly disgusting.

I’ve been a loyal viewer of the VIEW, but no more. They went to far yesterday. I do not agree with John McCain on most issues, but that’s no reason to show blatant disrespect for the man and Governor Palin.

Charlie Gibson, I’m very disappointed and will now be watching Katie Couric. There’s a line, and ABC crossed it.

64 Asian4Hillary Unfortunately, the people who think Obma’s tax cut sound good are all too often people with low education and no idea of the implications of those cuts. They onlt care about seeing him elected the first black POTUS.
The ONLY effective vote against Obama is a vote for McCain. As you said, it takes him 2 votes to make up for every one vote he loses to McCain. At this point, any other vote is only idealistic at best. And it’s down to the time now, for being practical.
That is, if you want your vote to count for something.

BARACK OBAMA AND WILLIAM AYERS: DID THEY MEET AT COLUMBIA?

WHY THE SECRECY ABOUT OBAMA’S COLLEGE RECORDS?

(NEW YORK, NY)(September 12, 2008) Barack Obama had the wrong calling. Instead of being a “community organizer” he should have joined the CIA. Obama knows how to cover his tracks. He could be called the “clandestine candidate.”

Obama spent two years at Columbia University yet left virtually no fingerprints of his presence there. Could that be because Columbia was where Mr. Obama first met “mad bomber” William Ayers?

Obama has also refused to release his Columbia University transcripts. What secrets lurk there? Likewise for Occidental College where he attended for two years. What is he trying to hide? I arrived in the Columbia area to study theology at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine shortly after Obama had left, so I know the neighborhood well. I have gone back to retrace were he might have been. No luck. No footprints, either.

What has Obama’s past behavior over the past four years taught me? When Obama is hiding something he is hiding something.

Is it just a coincidence that Obama and Ayers were on the Columbia campus together? Did they meet and make their initial contact at that time? Had Obama been turned on to Ayers by Frank Marshall Davis? Was there a Khalid Al-Mansour and William Ayers connection during this early period. Questions, questions. But no answers from Mr. Obama.

Did Ayers point Obama in the direction of Chicago as a place to hone Obama’s “organizing” skills?

Fox News also tried to search for Obama. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122108881386721289.html
They had no luck either.

The fact that Obama has crated a void concerning his college years, after claiming in his own book he went to New York to study in an urban environment, makes me queasy. Did he find what he was looking for in New York? What did he find? Who did he find? Blank.

What is Obama hiding?

No major party nominee for the presidency has led a life with, pardon the expression, black holes at crucial points in his life. Why was Obama invisible at Columbia? What would his college transcripts show? Why are the mainstream media tiptoeing away from any searching examination of Obama’s college years?

The Wall Street Journal speculated that Obama is concealing that he received racial preferences and obtained his degree through affirmative action. Why wouldn’t Obama want to put that theory to rest by releasing his college records?

While the Journal’s theory is as equally plausible as mine, I believe Obama is concealing that he had his first contacts with William Ayers while both were living in the Columbia neighborhood. Ayers had recently surfaced after having been “underground” for a decade.

No one has been able to nail down when Obama met Ayers. My 2.0 timeline leaves the matter open (see below). There is no hard evidence. The only concrete information we have is that Obama has blatantly and repeatedly lied about the timeline of his relationship with Ayers.

Deception of Obama’s sort is probative in and of itself. The fact that he lies, lies repeatedly and lies blatantly, is indicative of the sensitivity of the Obama-Ayers connection.

While Obama’s minions obviously want to vet Sarah Palin’s past, he has precluded any vetting of his own peculiar history. He claims in his own words that he went to Columbia to find a black experience, and then says virtually nothing about those experiences.

Eight years ago, I made a very controversial TV commercial that aired on Channel 9 in New Hampshire, questioning George Bush’s qualifications for the presidency. My words then resonate now. I said, “Don’t trust George Bush with your vote until he trusts you with the truth about his past.” The same words can be applied to Obama. Eight years later, my words have found a new target, and a new void.

In the meantime, did Barack Obama meet William Ayers in New York? It sure looks that way from all of the secrecy surrounding Obama’s Columbia years.

———————————————–

THE AYERS/OBAMA TIMELINE: (Version 2.0; a work in progress; dates are approximate)

1981-1983[William Ayers and Barack Obama meet at Columbia?]

1987 William Ayers links up with Barack Obama in Chicago

1988 Ayers solicits Khalid Al-Mansour to raise money for Obama’s Harvard law School education

1989 Tom Ayers and William Ayers get Obama a summer job at Sidley & Austin (where he meets Michelle Obama); Ayers’ wife Bernadine Dohrn also worked at Sidley at about the same time as Barack and Michelle.

1993 Ayers places Obama on Woods Foundation

1995 Ayers makes Obama Chairman of Annenberg Challenge

1995 Ayers hosts a coffee klatch for Obama’s political debut (Obama falsely claims this is when he met Ayers)

2007-2008 The structure of Obama’s presidential campaign increasingly comes to resemble an Ayers-designed national “community organizer matrix” straight out of Maoist theory. This is not merely a presidential “campaign.” Obama’s organization is the first installment of an ongoing movement being paid for with tax-exempt contributions to his campaign, approaching half a billion dollars.

2008Obama In response to ABC News, Obama tells a national TV audience he was “six years old” when Ayers bombed federal buildings, and they are only casual neighborhood acquaintances. A lie.

Even though we have finally started piecing the puzzle together, we continue to investigate. For example, where in Chicago did Barack Obama live in 1985-1988? Help if you have an address.

Because we are still assembling all of the pieces to the Ayers-Obama puzzle, feel free to submit suggestions, additions to the timeline or other information that you believe may be helpful. We will publish updated/corrected versions.

Don’t know if this has been posted before. I would put this in the “actions speak louder than words” department, From the Seattle PI:

“Based on these calculations, Obama’s 28 male staffers divided among themselves total payroll expenditures of $1,523,120. Thus, Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397.

Obama’s 30 female employees split $1,354,580 among themselves, or $45,152, on average….”

McCain’s 17 male staffers split $916,914, thus averaging $53,936. His 25 female employees divided $1,396,958 and averaged $55,878.”

Vote Cancellation
We need to improve the party and our Nation for the long term. We supported the Democrats because they seemed less corrupt than the Republicans. Now we see that they are equally corrupt. The Democratic party has committed treason against our principles, and we need to clean house to get our party back.

The most powerful tool to do that is vote-cancellation. Vote cancellation is where Democrats vote for McCain and cancel out Obama votes 2 for 1.

Can someone really cancel out another person’s vote for Obama?

Yes! Here’s an example of how it works.

Suppose you are one of the 50 Democrats voting for Obama, and there are 50 others voting for McCain. So right now, it’s 50 to 50. The vote difference is 0.

But if you switch your vote from Obama to McCain, the difference changes by 2.

Now it’s 49 for Obama and 51 for McCain. Your 1 vote switch created a 2 vote lead over Obama by McCain. You have multiplied your vote by 2!

Isn’t voting Independent or 3rd party just as good?

No, because it is only half as effective. Using our example above:

If you vote independent, the result would be 49 Obama, 50 McCain, and 1 independent. McCain would only have a 1 vote lead over Obama. Remember by voting for McCain, you would create a 2 vote lead over Obama.

#32 Bloomer on 09.13.08 at 11:55 am

Thought that I would share with you what I posted over at HRC.
Remember…..when you receive this kind of campaign mail you can cause them grief in your responses and the more they have to deal with opening negative mail the less time they have to open mail with actual donations in them. :)

Got a letter from the DNC today and then I had some fun.

——————————————————————————–

I wish my scanner was working. I have a new laptop and haven’t gotten all the kinks out yet. Printer works but scanner won’t go.
I will hit on some of the highlights since it’s way to long to retype.

Anyway……..Got a letter, asking for MONEYof course! Best part was that on the postage paid return envelope there is a little note in the place where you would put your return address and it says…..
“By using your own first-class stamp to return this envelope, you will save us much-needed funds.”

Oh Boy! Now that was not the thing to say to me. SAVE you money……no fricking way!

As I read this letter my anger grew (naturally) and then I began to get bitter and clingy and took my pen in hand.

Here are a few examples of where I used the handy dandy highlighting pen and then my replys to their comments……

Them: I am writing as an historic Democratic Convention comes to a dramatic end.
Me: Oh! You mean the one with the styrofoam pillars they hauled away and the flags they left as garbage?

Them:With only 68 days remaining from the end of our convention to election day.
Me: 68???? You mean 56 don’t you? Is that kind of like the 57 states in America.

Them: As the Bush era finally comes to an end, you can count on us to be with you every step of the way. (That one about made me want to barf)
Me: REALLY!!!! That’s why you ignored all 18 million of our votes because WE can count on YOU?

Them: But, if we stick together……
ME; “WE” I’m already gone!!!!!!!!

Them: Your gift will provide the critical financial support we need to wage the most extensive and highly organized grassroots campaign in American history.
Me: Looks like your grass is getting a little brown to me. Where’s the hip waders…..it’s a gettin deep in here!

Them: This election will bring about real change
Me: Oh! You mean the kind of change like condoning sexism, not counting every vote, threatening Super Delegates, and voting in Hotel rooms, oh and before I forget most importantly using the race card every time it suited YOUR purpose.

Them:I’m also enclosing a “No Third Term, Time For Change, Vote Democrat bumper sticker that I hope you will proudly display.
ME: Yes! I see that and I’m regifting it back to you in 50 little pieces.
PROUDLY! So you may now promptly dispose of it in the garbage where it belongs.
My trash can spit it back out.

It was signed by good ole Howard of course so next to his crappy ass signature I wrote……..Howard, you need to go!

The P.S. again mentioned the 68 days to go and with that I reminded them again it was only 56 and that they were running out of time.

I signed it in very big letters.
P.U.M.A.

Wow! I sure do feel better now! And if I can only find some loose change to tape to it I’ll be all set.

FIRESIDE CHAT – UNDECIDED VOTER

Better off to pay $4,000 towards your own education and to dump the $1,000 tax credit ! You’ll be way out ahead in the long run!

Barack Obamas economic policies are troublesome. If you own a house and sell it, right now there’s no tax on the sale up to $500,000. But if senator Obama is elected, he will put a capital gains tax of 28% on our houses. He wants to give us a $1,000 energy credit (tax credit to 95% of the people), but that’s nothing compared to what I’ll lose if the energy prices stay high, or if I sell my house, $28,000 for every $100,000 of value? $4,000 is nothing for an education credit, considering the vast amounts he wants from me. I’d save a huge amount of money if I just paid the $4,000 for college myself.

I don’t know why he thinks that I would take $1000 just to have him implement this and his 40 cent gas tax increase. I could pay for my own kids education at a private school for the money I would save in capital gains by voting with John McCain.

It REALLY bothers me that all the information we’ve gathered about the truth about Obama is so EFFECTIVELY suppressed by the MSM. How is it possible that, for all these months leading to the election, none of it sees the light of day.

Why Democrats Lose Elections

http://thecrossedpond.com/?p=5016

They still think this is just about McCain and Obama. The Democrats have lost allot of elections for years.

I think the Dems grate big umbrella they say we can all stand under has holes in it. Some of us have ben in the cold for years!

Until they can see beyond there own noses they will make the same mistakes.

Just for fun.

For all of who posted about no longer tuning in to ‘Veiw’, ‘ABC’s Morning Show’ etc:

You may also want to post a note to their advertisers and let them know or your displeasure. Hit ABC in the pocketbook where it hurts. Remember the Rachel Ray head-scarf flap? Dunkin’ Donuts removed the ad in response to consumer sentiment! That’s one way to make our voices heard. Go straight to their $$$$$ train.

#59 nhforhillary on 09.13.08 at 12:28 pm

Obama will penalize big families that buy bigger houses to put them in.

Obama wants to tax houses over 2400 sq ft.

Tax your heating oil
Tax your water
Tax your electricity

Tax the sale of your house at retirement 28%
Tax increase for payroll taxes 2%
New 40 cent gas tax!

Tax inheritance – Remember family farms going out of business?

Tax capital gains and dividends, so if your 401k or IRA makes capital gains for the companies they invest in or dividend – YOU ARE THE LOSER, because you are being taxed because the profits for your retirement account will be lower!

The $500.00 single $1,000.00 married tax cut for 95% of the people he talks about is a tax credit. When your tax rate goes down, that’s considered a tax cut! This really isn’t anything more than another rebate, a carrot
in disguise to get your vote, while he takes a big stick and wacks you hard with taxes if elected!

The last time we did a windfall profits tax, the oil companies produced less to bring the price up to compensate for the tax….Obama wants to use this disproven “old” idea? Who’s the “pig with lipstick”
now?

College students-Alert!

Hey, Parents, if you were thinking of helping your kids pay for college, forget it, you’ll need whatever assets you have to pay for retirement with that 28% capital gains tax.

Your parents could afford to send you to a better college if you don’t vote for Obama!

Statistic – 40% of all people that make over $250,000 do not pay any taxes! So where is he getting his taxes? Probably from people that don’t have companies. The rich escape paying taxes again!!! It’s a joke plan not a tax plan.

REPOST – Please review and post comment. I will be on and off the blog throughout the day.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The DNC has posted the Convention Delegate Tally.
http://www.demconvention.com/securing-the-nomination
There was only one “official” vote. I received an email from Alice Germond and she is basically saying that we need to get the individual delegate votes from the state DNC’s. We not only need to compile this information for general accountability, but for assessment. The two main questions would be:
• Did each delegate vote as the record indicates?
• Were state binding laws violated by the delegates?
We still need a database of specified attributes for each of the 4,000+ delegates.
1. Name
2. State
3. Type (SuperDelegate/Bound)
4. Convention Ballot (Hotel Room/Breakfast)Vote
5. Convention Floor Vote
6. Tallied Vote
7. Verified by Delegate (Yes/No/Unknown)
8. Preconvention Vote (June Campaign Suspension)
What are the thoughts on how we could get this done? Anyone want to ask Alice? (First 6 Items)

Bill O’reilly interviewed Obama on his tax rates!

You want to tax people between 25%-28%

Obama said he might consider dropping it to 20% but like everything he says…you have to take his highest rate and go with that. Obama doesn’t deny the rate, try googling Obama capital gains tax and see if you can find the source, it used to be on his website, but I just can’t go there. When the bush tax cuts expire in 2010, the rates automatically go up anyways.

McCain wants to reduce government spending so we can keep the taxes that benefit the middle class low.

Why is everyone who writes against Obama in hiding or using coverted names?
Is it because of Stephanie Tubbs? There were 3 Dems for Hillary that dies recently…Tubbs did say that people not supporting Obama were having their lives threatening…soon after Tubbs was dead.
I suppose if Obama’s are selected they could go after us bloggers….there have been rumors to that effect that Obama is upset with Fox news and bloggers (against him only)

#77 nhforhillary on 09.13.08 at 12:44 pm

They talked on foxnews the other day that Obama’s tax cut is a fraud, because it doesn’t effect your tax rate!

It’s just a handout to get votes…if you ever get it!

Take $500 single $1,000married away from all the figures you see on TV when his plan is compared to McCains and you will see that McCains is better…and if McCain decides we need a stimulus package, we definitely would be way ahead.

Reposted from downstairs.

Very intresting information. Having just moved from California 2 years ago, I wonder if this is getting much play there. The market in california would be very inpacted by this tax. A 40 year old house of 3/2 could very easily sell for much more than 500k. when you add the 7% for the agent you are talking about a bundle. I wonder if people would be singing his prase there if they knew this info. Also whats the tax on a 2400 sq foot home about. Is that at time of purshase?

I tell ya for years I have been a fall in line democrat.
Big mistake the DNC has made, I’m really starting to look at thing differently.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I hear you loud and clear Patty, I was too. But now, as you start to dissect the democrats- do they really care about woment? Or has it all been lip service?

What really has me the most angry beyond belief was for April, May, June and July all the bigwig “leaders” kept saying we would fall in line. We were just angry and upset because our candidate didn’t win (well, she did, they just stole the nomination from her).

No one bothered to really listen and address the issues.

This is exactly why the democrats have been accused of being “elitist”. It is not about money or social strata, the are “elitist” because they think they know better than the voters, they don’t think they need to listen, they think if they tell us what is in our best interest, we will blindly follow them.

I see this year as the year things will undergo a major shift. Someone posted the electoral college map a few posts up- go look at it- McCain is now clearly ahead and two weeks ago he was still behind.

I know it is early and this is still anyone’s ballgame but I hope the democrats continue this posturing right up until November 4th, then maybe after a landslide McCain victory, we can start to rebuild our party and the principles on which it stands.

IF only the DNC, superdelegates and the Democratic Party listened to the WILL OF THE PEOPLE, its a sure win for the Whitehouse. Instead of following the voice of the people, election instead of selection, they’ve chosen to select the nominee, subverting the will of the people.

I read news from other countries to get a better perspective what’s going on, the change is so drastic; they’ve seen also arrogance of NObama. NObama’s campaign is all about his charisma, his speech, its all about him; a campaign about his two books, his own memoires and yet he can’t pass a major bill in the senate he wrote. Foreign medias are now questioning NObama’s credentials; people’s adulation towards NObama have faded, REALITY kicks in, fairytale is history!

Thanks for the comments back PUMAs. I can not believe that the McCain campaign would allow ABC to edit Sarah’s comments. I thought they would have an agreement on that. McCain needs to say something, or better yet, Sarah. I hope Hannity points out this problem Tuesday when he interviews her.

#105 GOSUEF4HIL on 09.13.08 at 1:05 pm

osaka puma- while the though of a permanent rift saddens me, I agree with you that a VIABLE third party is what we need.
I saw lillibet’s post up quite a way about voting 3rd party this year, which only gives Mc a 1 point lead, voting for Mc puts in 2 points ahead of Obie.

As much as I’d rather vote 3rd party this year, I am making sure my vote goes as far as it can in taking down Obie.

And an FYI for everyone thinking about leaving blank, I caution you to do that. Our local mayor race here is going to a re-vote but there were some advocating interpreting the blank votes or disregarding the blank votes all together. Our votes are too precious for some lackey to decide whom we meant to vote for.

I will stop pontificating now and go clean up from gardening.

While the polls today are encouraging, I am very worried about the electoral votes. BO is vey cunning (look at what he did to win prior elections) and I think already figuring out ways to duplicate the sham that Florida pulled in 2000. Not in Florida, but in states that would put him over the top regardless of the popular vote. I can’t get his onimous remark about how he hasn’t been eating all that hotel food to lose this election. So when he says he’s not worried about the polls, that’s for real, he’s looking at ways to get around the popular vote. I think poll watching has never been so important.

#123 Henerietta on 09.13.08 at 1:23 pm

After giving it some serious thought, I have this to say about Party Unity:

You folks who want all this PARTY UNITY need to wake up to what really caused the war in Iraq: UNITY behind a bad cause! The voices of dissent were drowned out, both in the republican party and the nation as a whole, in the name of UNITY! Hillary Clinton, other democrats, John McCain, and the whole republican led legislature voted with Bush in the name of national unity!

We just saw the most corrupt and convoluted primary election in our generation within the Democratic party, all in the name of Party Unity! The corruption in the name of unity was so bad that the winner (by more votes ever cast for an individual in a primary election in this country) was cast aside for a party insider who had the blessing of the inner circle. All in the name of (convoluted) Party Unity!

Can we at least learn something from this: When you unite behind a worthy cause it is good unity, but when you squelch dissent and the voices of those who disagree, you have destroyed the very essence of democracy! When you practice corrupt politics to force unity, you get just the opposite: Disunity (in a true democracy!)

Obama-Rezko (rhyms w/Invesco)

http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0804/S00295.htm

(People, note once again ABC News is / was covering this story, a credit to them. I still wonder when we’ll know the whole story about the ABC Reporter arrested in Denver just for trying to cover that breakfast mtg).
And also note the author undertaking something rare in America – detailed and factual reporting – is Evelyn Pringle, a woman:

“That statement intentionally leads readers to believe that Obama donated all campaign contributions from Rezko to charity, which is so far from the truth that it’s laughable.

On November 5, 2006, the Tribune reported that, Obama said Rezko raised as much as $60,000 for him during his political career. The next day, the Sun-Times quoted Obama as saying: “I did however donate campaign contributions from Rezko to charity.”

The Obama camp stuck with the $50,000 or $60,000 story for nearly a year until Obama’s March 14, 2008 interviews with the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune and the team of reporters pinned him down and the amount added up to $250,000.

For decades, the “pay-to-play” schemes exposed by the Board Games case have been standard conduct for politicians in Illinois, Republicans and Democrats alike, creating a vicious circle. Officials cannot get elected without the contributions of the corrupt influence peddlers and the crooks cannot fund the campaigns without the pay-offs.

In a January 11, 2006, report by Better Government Association, the groups Executive Director, Jay Stewart, stated: “Illinois is awash in scandal and corruption.”

The most alarming indication that the corruption in Illinois will never end is the fact that the schemes continued on at full-throttle at a time when the same team of Federal prosecutors, led by Patrick Fitzgerald, was arresting people left and right as a result of an eight year investigation of the last Governor, George Ryan.”

That’s my guy, Patrick!

TOPIC: Accountability or “Go Ask Alice.”

#187 Hi HEADCLUNKER,
here’s what I emailed to Alice.

Dear Ms. Germond,
I’m a lifelong Democrat now leaning towards McCain. As we ponder our voting decisions, my friends and are wondering if each delegate voted as the record indicates, and if state binding laws were followed or violated.

To help us decide Party Affiliation, we would greatly appreciate it if you could send us the following information about the 4,000 + delegates at this year’s Convention in Denver.

1. Name
2. State
3. Type (SuperDelegate/Bound)
4. Convention Ballot (Hotel Room/Breakfast)Vote
5. Convention Floor Vote
6. Tallied Vote
7. Verified by Delegate (Yes/No/Unknown)
8. Preconvention Vote (June Campaign Suspension)

I will be sure to share the information with my friends and political colleagues. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

There is something called a “FOIA” or Freedom of Information Act so she will need to comply, is my guess.

EXACTLY!!

I think “unity” for the sake of unity is a great disservice to us all. Which is why we need to take a stand and let our leaders know they do not vote for us, however we voted for them and I WANT MY VOTE BACK!!!!

Actually, I’m from CA, so my vote was not even counted. I guess if the DNC thinks they can take my vote for granted, at least McCain is trying to earn it. Rather, has earned it.

Perhaps someone who hasdone videos before, could do a video about her as a counter as well. What do you and others think?

#162 KR on 09.13.08 at 1:58 pm

The extreme sexism -from women!- in this campaign is making me sick. I suppose the good news is that, since it’s been there all along below the surface, it’s good that it’s finally surfacing now so that efforts can be made to deal with it .

To that end, I wrote my first letter to the editor today (to the Seattle Times). Here it is, who knows if they’ll print it, or if the message is effective. I’m so pissed it’s hard to think straight.

“In Joni Balters’ ‘Parsing the Palin Phenomena” editorial of Sept.11, she expresses alarm that Sarah Palin ‘has too much on her plate’.

Apparently, Joni, as a mother of two, cannot possibly imagine herself capable of what Palin- with five children!- may be called upon to do.

Here’s my message to you, Joni:

Relax. Nobody is going to ask you to be Mayor of Seattle. Or Ethics Commissioner for the State of Washington. Or Governor.

And we certainly will not be asking or demanding that you run in the V.P. slot.

So just relax. And quit judging all women by your own personal handicaps.”

PUMAs, I would appreciate some feedback on this letter. The reason being, yesterday as I was out and about on my one woman crusade to Take it the People (LOL), I was shocked how prevalent this attitude is among women- that just because they PERSONALLY cannot do it, therefore no other woman can.

And this sentiment of “have children, cannot govern” (apply to women only) is a constant refrain in the media.

So I want to chip away at this belief. Help? If we could come up with a good template for a letter, we could flood the editorial pages of newspapers. Peole DO read Letters to the Editor.

I don’t want to sound ballistically pissed off, just get to the meat of the matter in a way people can understand on a gut level.

Thanks.

My husband and I watched the 20/20 interview last night. He isn’t as politically interested as I am in this election. He mentioned to me that he didn’t know who this Charlie Gibson was, but he absolutely did not like him. He felt that his mission was to undo Palin, find a “gotcha” moment, and that Gibson was confrontational, dismissive and condescending. That is alot for my hubby to say! I’m hoping that the general consensus is the same!

BTW, for those who are writing ABC about The View, and 20/20, here is a list I found that you might like to see–the many holdings Disney has. Like I have said in earlier posts, our letters can have a far and reaching effect!

DISNEY / ABC / CAP (donated 640 thousand to GW’s 2000 campaign)
Television Holdings:
* ABC: includes 10 stations, 24% of US households.
* ABC Network News: Prime Time Live, Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America.
* ESPN, Lifetime Television (50%), as well as minority holdings in A&E, History Channel and E!
* Disney Channel/Disney Television, Touchtone Television.
Media Holdings:
* Miramax, Touchtone Pictures.
* Magazines: Jane, Los Angeles Magazine, W, Discover.
* 3 music labels, 11 major local newspapers.
* Hyperion book publishers.
* Infoseek Internet search engine (43%).
Other Holdings:
* Sid R. Bass (major shares) crude oil and gas.
* All Disney Theme Parks, Walt Disney Cruise Lines.

TOPIC: Accountability or “Go Ask Alice.”

#187 Hi HEADCLUNKER,
here’s what I emailed to Alice.

Dear Ms. Germond,
I’m a lifelong Democrat now leaning towards McCain. As we ponder our voting decisions, my friends and are wondering if each delegate voted as the record indicates, and if state binding laws were followed or violated.

To help us decide Party Affiliation, we would greatly appreciate it if you could send us the following information about the 4,000 + delegates at this year’s Convention in Denver.

1. Name
2. State
3. Type (SuperDelegate/Bound)
4. Convention Ballot (Hotel Room/Breakfast)Vote
5. Convention Floor Vote
6. Tallied Vote
7. Verified by Delegate (Yes/No/Unknown)
8. Preconvention Vote (June Campaign Suspension)

I will be sure to share the information with my friends and political colleagues. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Writing the sponsors will work if we all start doing it. If they only receive one or two emails… it won’t have an effect.

I collected all the links provided two threads down and composed a letter to the proctor & gamble sponsor (which I will send to others today and adjust as needed). If anyone is interested — I will post below what I wrote and you can use the general idea but I think it will be more effective if it isn’t copied exactly from everyone. I will also post the response I received from p&g below my letter.

My Letter

I would like to take the time to inform your company as well as others who were sponsoring advertisement during The View today (Sept. 12, 2008) in which an interview with Senator McCain was the main focus.

I have never witnessed such disrespect of a Presidential candidate in my life. A candidate, mind you, who is a hero in the eyes of many and gave many years of his life to suffer torture as a POW out of love for his country and his fellow countrymen (who were sharing the POW experience along side him). I have a great deal of respect for this candidate.

What I don’t have respect for is the way the women on this show conduct themselves. I also find it difficult to have respect for a candidate such as Senator Obama (who has received a free pass from the women on The View). Senator Obama fails as a candidate to earn my respect due to the numerous fraud committed against the voters of this country (demonstrated in the videos at this site:) http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/video/index.htm

Senator Obama is not a man that deserves a free ride from the press anymore. I have witnessed reports from Denver (at the Denver Convention) of help to offer support to delegates who came to our PUMA headquarters to seek a safe haven. These delegates told stories of Obama thugs locking the delegates in their hotel room while they made threats to their lives, their livelihood, and to the funds that would be made available to their districts (unless they vote for Obama at the Roll Call). The Roll Call was a sham and orchestrated to appear like it was part of a democratic process, but the same intimidation shown in the video links (in previous paragraph) also occurred in the nomination process at the convention. Why do you think this Clinton delegate is this upset in an interview after Clinton’s speech (see link below)… Answer: Because she wasn’t allowed to vote for the candidate that she wanted to vote for in what should be a democratic process.
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmdhhW-zSeU) This candidate is the man that the women on The View should aim their anger towards (not Senator McCain).

Until I get assurances that your company will withdraw advertisements during The View air time — I will be participating in a boycott of all your products starting now. Fortunately, your website conveniently supplies me with a list of all of these products, but I believe Charmin was the one specifically advertised on The View today.

I can assure you this boycott will be across the board for all air time products during this show and I can also assure you that the PUMA organization has millions of members — all of whom will be participating (as well as encouraging friends and neighbors to do the same). We want a public assurance (backed up with credible actions) that The View will no longer be supported. PUMA’s will also be boycotted the show itself.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXX
PUMA Democrat

I’ve been trying to complain about the fact that they pulled McCain’s ad but they allowed an ad to still be up in which an Obama supporter stole McCain’s ad and then turned it around to use the same information against McCain. RE: VOTING PARAMETERS

If I vote for everything except President and leave the President slot empty, will it be counted toward the candidate of the party of which I am a member anyway?

If I am not a member of either major party, how would leaving the President slot blank be counted?

If I write in a name in the President slot that is permitted under CA law, will it be counted toward the person who I write it?

If I write in a name in the President slot that is NOT permitted under CA law, will it be counted anyway, be ignore, or will it go toward another Presidential candidate? If the latter, how is that determined?

Is there any other scenario other than what I’ve described whereby if I don’t vote for one of the Presidential candidates on the ticket, my vote may still be counted toward one of them in some way? If so, please describe.

If I don’t vote for President, but vote for down ticket candidates, is it possible for my ballot to be discounted because it wasn’t complete?

Randi Roach is now on Nova M Radio..website and satelitte as well as some affiliates.. Go to website and review the whole thing. I think some of her sponsors are fronts..so called “progressive groups”. There is a list of affiliates by city. There is a list of sponsors, most of which sound as crazy as she is…but there are one or two for “general stuff.” Nova M radio Ceo is a guy who supposedly was affilitated with original Air American. You might want to go over there , look through it all and see what thoughts you might come up with. Bambi’s Tax Plan, and his plans for Iraq and Afghanistan would be detrimental to our foreign policies in the Middle East.

The Al-Aaida and Taliban allicance is growing with the allegiance and emergence of “Pakistani militant groups that have banded together with the Taliban Movement of Pakistan (TTP)”. “The insurgency stretches from Afhanistan’s border with Iran through the souther half of the country”. Al-Qaida has established new bases in Pakistan. “The TTP has routed Pakistani security forces, imposed strict Islamic law across the tribal region and extended its reach deep into the country through a campaign of intimidation and violence that has claimed thousands of lives, including that of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in December”.

“CO-EP Kissenger 2008″: “The inherent contradictions of the proposed withdrawal schedule compound the difficulties. Under the fixed withdrawal scheme, combat troops are to be withdrawn, but sufficient forces would remain to protect the U.S. Embassy, fight a resumption of al-Qaeda and contribute to defense against outside intervention. But such tasks require combat, not support, forces, and the foreseeable controversy about the elusive distinction will distract from the overall diplomatic goal. Nor is withdrawal from Iraq necessary to free forces for operations in Afghanistan. There is no need to risk the effort in Iraq to send two or three additional brigades to Afghanistan; those troops will become available even in the absence of a deadline.”

Hi everybody !
Hi mzebest : glad to see your name today !

Here in France all the newspapers and Tv channels are speaking about a “Palinmania” replacing the “Obamania”.
Although I am happy to see that the Obamania is fading, I think it must be terrible for Hillary to see Palin becoming the star…
Hillary has worked seriously and hard for so many years, thinking she would be the first woman to make history, preparing herself, and now another woman is going to become vice-president…
I am glad because I think Sarah Palin is smart and she is a prommising female politician, but I cannot help feeling sad for Hillary…

Subject: Objections to Special Status Granted to the Democratic Party on FL
State Ballots

Dear Sir:

I am writing to you to protest the state of Florida allowing the Democratic Party access to our state election ballots.

I understand that state officials cannot intervene in the internal operations of any political party. I want to make clear that this is not what I am asking you to do. Rather, I am putting you on notice, that if the DNC refuses to hold a bona fide floor vote on the nomination, I will work diligently to revoke the special status that our state laws grant to candidates from the Democratic Party to get on the ballot.

We spend taxpayer money for elections that are fair and honest, and support the will of the people. The DNC has shown through its nomination of a candidate by fiat, that they are not abiding by our state’s principles. Barack Obama was given the nomination without reaching the proper number of delegates needed to secure it. The super delegates do not officially vote until the convention. We now understand that the super delegates will not be voting at all and that a secret ballot will be held, all against Party rules.

Furthermore, there are widespread reports and investigations of fraudulent voting irregularities in several states. In the Texas caucuses there was massive voter fraud and voter intimidation. In Oregon there were dead people voting. In Los Angeles, gang members were hired to walk neighborhoods and threaten people to vote for Obama. In some southern states there is an investigation of votes being sold for $20.00, or in some cases, for drugs. These problems affect the results of voting in all states, Florida included., i.e. see website http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/nevada.html

I protest the spending of our state tax dollars to allow a private club such as the DNC to pick their own candidate in violation of even their own rules, and run that candidate on our state ballots. I assure you, I intend to work to amend our state laws so that from now on DNC will not be allowed access to our state ballots without the requisite fees and petitions that the other political parties such as the Green Party or the Libertarian Party must pay and supply, unless they return to holding fair elections based upon votes of citizens. You can count on it.

I suggest that you notify the DNC of my intention, backed by the intention of a very large network of protestors under the aegis of justsaynodeal/puma. I have warned the Democratic Party of my intentions, all to no avail.

Sincerely yours,

#204 BillieJo on 09.13.08 at 2:38 pm

#206 {{{{{{{{{{hillstheone }}}}}}}}}}}}}}

BillieJo,
Talk to me, BillieJo, I need a PUMA hug right now.
————
Big hugs to you hills………you are not alone in your quest, believe me. I have lost real friends over this election because I do not support their choice. I have also sent out the caucus fraud website to all people I care about, no matter what I do or say they will not even read it. They are too afraid to vote for anyone other than a Demo at the top of the ticket. I actually had to stop talking to them because the vibes got so bad that I would be left with only my virtual PUMA friends if I didn’t. It is sad but so goes the election. If we keep trying to get the caucus fraud website to as many main stream media sources as possible…others that do not feel comfortable with BO may read it. That is why I keep posting Will’s article on HuffPo and insert the caucus fraud website in as often as I can to support my view.
We can only do so much and we have done a great job so far. We are finally a force that can’t be hidden any longer. We have to rely on the Republican’s to step up and do their job of investigating BOs dirty business. We can tell them but if they look the other way too, it is their fault if they don’t win. Just do what you can, try not to freak out………..my latest anger is at the Clinton delegates. I am trying to think of writing them to get out of their closets and defend the reason they threw our votes in the trash at the convention. If they can’t speak up, they will be on my personal shit list.

((((((((((((((((Hugs again)))))))))))))))

#206 ladyhawkke on 09.13.08 at 2:42 pm

#194 Anna7000 I had called my local election office a month or so ago and asked if I could write Hillary in. The woman told me the candidate had to request to be a write-in and had to sign. She said Hillary did not. For all of those who plan on writing in Hillary, I think it is a bad idea. She probably did not request to be a write-in knowing she wouldn’t get enough votes. Personally, I do think writing her in is a throw-away vote. The only way to defeat XO is to vote McCain/Palin. I know some can’t do it but if you want to vote third party, it will mess things up. Some of the states right now are too close to call. I do not agree with most of Palin’s views but will gladly vote for her to keep the empty suit out.

#211 Anna7000 on 09.13.08 at 2:44 pm

ladyhawkke – probabaly best to call the SoS instead of the local election’s office, since the SoS is the official person/place that establishes voting rules and regulations. but, it sounds as if you know how you plan to vote and the questions are mute for you, as a result.

#212 ladyhawkke on 09.13.08 at 2:47 pm

#211 Anna7000 But the local election office is the one printing the ballots for each county. I suppose you could check with them but I was told Hillary did not request to be a write-in.

#213 Anna7000 on 09.13.08 at 2:47 pm

delphine – unfortunately, the version of “hillarymania” that occured was of a negative sort. in any case, i, personally, deplore a “mania” of any sort for any candidate. it simplifies and glorifies them in ways that are utterly irrelevant and distract from the very serious business at hand of addressing domestic and international issues in a substanative way. this is what politics has become, at least in america. ugh. (not sure what the french translation for “ugh” would be! merde?!*)

Nice post. Thanks. One of the links above shows how the obots and even the Obama campaign are behind smears of McCain, PUMAPAC, and others. They have planted false information that Suzanne Hendrix (they claim she is a Republican, but who knows if she really exists) is behind PUMAPAC and also behind many of the Republican smear sites, if I’m reading correctly. Geeze, it’s hard to believe anyone would be gullible enough to believe that crap… guess if you drink enough kool-aid, you’ll believe anything.

Now I understand why my spouse has accused me of falling for Republican rhetoric by becoming involved with PUMAPAC. Of course, we all know that isn’t true, and I couldn’t understand why he refuses to see it. What a guy that bo is… what a uniter!!!!!! No way in hell he will ever have my vote.

Patty and Others – If you or others want to hold off till early next week, if Murphy wants to do this as a prowl, we can collect the names of the CEO’s of these corporations. If Murphy doesn’t want to do a prowl, then you and others who want to express your voice may want to consider calling 800 numbers to get the name and contact info for the CEO. THAT is the person I would ultimately aim to contact.

OK – Where did Grissly go? Say, you need to get back here!! I appreciated your posts – very intelligent and you look very deeply into subjects. You posted several things for me when I was searching out that Ulen site.

By the way, I don’t go into many of the Darkside’s sites because I don’t wish to give them any creditability either. But, it does help to know your opponent(s) – even though they keep popping up when you least expect them to – here also.

This is one of the most productive and active sites on the web in my humble opinion!!

Want to see you back Grizzly so you can help explain some of the weird things I find!!

Write to the Atlantic magazine for their cover-photo of McCain, where a strobe light was used under his chin to make him look like a monster. His face looks like a pound of ground beef. The photographer is Jill Greenberg, “a committed Democrat.”

“Warned that the image is just the kind of thing that will stir up the anti-media vitriol in the conservative blogosphere, Greenberg said, “Good. I want to stir stuff up, but not to the point where I get audited if he becomes president.”

That said, she goes on to explain that she’s thought about replacing McCain’s mouth with bloody shark teeth and displaying the image on a billboard with the message that the candidate is a bloodthirsty war monger.”

Here is the article on the photo-shoot:
http://www.pdnpulse.com/2008/09/how-jill-greenb.html

I wonder what they will try to do to Palin. Unfortunately for these manipulators, it is near impossible to get a bad photo of the gorgeous Alaska Governor. But I remember what they did to beautiful Hillary, over and over.

#229 lilibet on 09.13.08 at 3:06 pm

Mary Gallegos, thank you for pointing out Patrick’s post om Noquarter. I’m posting an excerpt here to make sure no one misses it.

Flash forward, the One ascends from the heavens to the acropolis, and the world watches in awe as the most derivative, pedantic and pedestrian missive ever read to a groveling public is greeted with an orgiastic burst of adulation.

“He is risen, he is here, we are no longer sinners and racists and war fighting heathens. We are enlightened, evolved and progressive. We are the Id. We are the One. We can now like ourselves.”

The Puma was filled with the hunger of indignation. But John McCain remembered and he heard and he knew.

“America is NOT broken. We are NOT the problem.”

“Washington is broken,” he said. And he took the one great leap, the one great step, the one great move towards real hope and real change and chose Destiny.

“World, meet Destiny. Destiny, meet world.”

She was stunning, Destiny, she was nothing that the nation had ever seen. Riding out of the mountains of the last, great frontier, Destiny burst onto the national stage with the steely grace and resolve that has defined this country from its inception.

And with one speech, one simple and authentic life story, Destiny eclipsed the One and now we watch, we watch as the Id flails in insane mockery of everything America stands for. Tears of real and honest joy fell from my eyes as she spoke because she was me. She was my wife, she was my kids…she was America. She slips blithely through life, dealing with every adversity evenly, with the resolve and grace of every man, every woman and every child that ever put its nation in front of itself.

And the Id continues to scream. “Pig! Liar! Cheat! Novice! Whore!…. WOMAN!!” It screams these terms with derision, feeding the lost souls who are forever attached to it, not realizing that those with the ability to reason, those who think for themselves but are nonetheless attracted to the glossy hum of the One, are repulsed. We are all, at once point or another, all of the things he screams, and that fact does not lessen us. We are all Americans…We are all Destiny.

She is America. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT monolithic. She is NOT with you on every issue. You are NOT with her on every issue. But America she is and John McCain had the resolve, when faced with HIS first major decision, to put country first, to put country on the ticket, and to give the middle a place to call home.

“Thank you,” I say to you all. “I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. Your anger, your hunger for something outside what you were offered did an amazing thing. It gave me my party back, and maybe, just maybe, John McCain will win this thing and help you get your party back.”

Issues count, but character counts more. Policy matters, but courage matters more. Who do you want to face the dark, wailing mass of insanity when the walls of reality start closing in? We know the answer, and America is waking up. Waking up to the Maverick, waking up to Destiny and waking up to the real hope, the real change, the real chance we have

TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK.

I just watched the Towers fall again.

And I am hopeful because somehow, some way, the Hungry Cat, the War-Ravaged Maverick and Destiny’s Icy Grace have become a force, and my country may one day heal.

Take care,
Patrick

#65 Osaka “Obama stands for hope and change…he wants us all to be poor!” LOL

Truthfully, after (finally) taking a hard look at the Dems this past year, I believe that that IS a main focus their ideology:

Impoverish enough of the population so that
1) they are dependent on you
2) then you can yak yak yak about how “compassionate you are as you
3) inflate the sh*t out of the economy because you need to
4) pay for the paltry gov. checks that you send out to the poor that keep them barely alive to make them
5) totally dependent on you so you can
6) disempower them and cause them to fight amongst themselves over the gravity and hopelessness of their situation.

If you want proof of the above, just go visit any practically any US city or town that’s suffered under a few decades of Democratic governance.

Creating and maintaining an underclass that “needs” you and so will give you its’ vote is a perfect ploy for maintaining power.

I believe that is why the Dems. are so pro illegal immigration. It’s their new slave class. God Forbid those poor workers be here legally, with rights to decent wages and free mobilty. Much better to keep them here with the status of “illegal” stamped on their foreheads, keep them in below living wage jobs, living multi-families to a 2 bed. apt and then go on and on and on about how “compassionate” you are.

Ugh.

Here the media now speaks about Sarah Palin all the time. Obama is being criticized for his outrageous remark about “the pig with lipstick”. The press says that he is losing his self-control. That he does not know how to react now that Sarah palin is the vice-presidential nominee… Here on the Internet, the bloggers are saying that Obama will probably never become president, and that finally, America is not ready to have a Black president…

My wonderful husband—closeted PUMA working in leftist tilted academia somewhere in the flyoverland—reports that he has been hearing the beginnings of academician Obamots’ burgeoning disenchantment with all of the promises of social programs. It’s just too much when the empiricists do the math and then realize that no matter how hard they try, the numbers only reflect spending more money to expand projects that have not been shown to be cost-effective over time; and that at the end of the day, the empiricists are not really willing to have their earnings taxed to the degree that Obacon’s/DNC’s promises will most certainly do.

Facts = votes.

If Sarah was going to be with him, I would drive the 80 miles to go to Jax.

Dear McCain Supporter,

Due to an overwhelming response, the venue for John McCain’s visit to Jacksonville has been moved to accomodate as many voters as possible that wish to come hear Senator McCain’s message of reform, prosperity, and peace. The event will now be held at the Jacksonville Memorial Arena, which is just across the street from the original event location.

With such a large show of support since initially announcing Senator McCain’s visit to Jacksonville, the scope of the event has grown dramatically. Instead of having a pancake breakfast, we are now billing the event as a Road to Victory Rally. Those that have already RSVP’d should follow the link below and re-register for the event. After registering, you will be able to print off tickets that will gain you access to the Monday event.

Attendees are reminded to wear a red shirt to symbolize the importance of keeping Florida a red state this fall.

We look forward to a great event Monday!

#245 PumaPal on 09.13.08 at 3:25 pm

I have come across an interesting article in of all places THE WEEKLY STANDARD which is very convervative. The article concerns Gov. Palin, but the core idea that I think Pumas will find interesting is whether or not we have come to believe that the highest levels of government are reserved for an elite class of citizens.

This is interesting because (up to recently), I would have assumed that such a concern would come from a member of the Democratic Party … not the Republican Party. (I am assuming the author of this article is a Republican; I think that it is a safe assumption because of where it is published.) Like many Pumas, I am being forced to look at a more complex political world. I am not changing my core values … far from it … I am considering how those values might be achieved.

Anyway, the article by Steven F. Hayward (I have no idea who he is) can be found at the http://www.weeklystandard.com and is in the latest issue. The article is “Give’em Hell, Sarah”.

When was the last time (or the first time) John Kerry attended the Leominster Stroll or visited a firehouse or a ham and bean supper in the Berkshires? We will say what so many people in Massachusetts have whispered for so very long: John Kerry needs to pay far more attention to the people who have sent him to Washington year after year than he has in the past. Wrong. We don’t need to file a complaint. Don’t turn on your radio, and don’t listen to her. Granted, she is an idiot, but we can’t do the same thing the left does when they file complaints against conservative radio talk show hosts.
Look, she is obviously insane and disgusting, but she should have the right to say what she says, and we as consumers should be able to turn her off, and vote against her candidate.

I’m just wondering – have you ever checked the “double-click” speed of your mouse? Maybe it’s set too fast. If you want to check it, click on your ‘start’ menu, then ‘control panel,’ and then ‘mouse.’ You could try slowing down the double-click speed on the slider to see if it would help with the double posts.

Maybe it has nothing to do with it, but I was just wondering if it would help. :)

PHEW! That is great news about thinking people finally starting to think about this problem of Gov. handouts.

The only way to pay for them is too inflate -which devalues the currency. Once the currency is devalued, the things that people need become more expensive (ie. food, housing, oil) which naturally results in MORE POVERTY. As inflation gets worse, more and more people are thrown off the bus, and under the I-5 Bridge.

It’s a disgusting policy for any Government to undertake. And Obam-nomics is highly inflationary. In fact, many think it is HYPERinflationary.

See Weimar Germany (which ushered in Hitler) and Zimbabwe, where everyone is currently an impoverished millionare, soon to be billionares all. Their money is absolutely WORTHLESS.

I am so happy that profs at Colleges are FINALLY taking a look at this. Thank Goodness.

#281 Asian4Hillary on 09.13.08 at 3:57 pm

Real slavery is when a government makes you DEPENDENT for your own existence with the powerful (your government). That’s what NObama is espousing wherever he goes with his campaign. NObama believes by enslaving the people thru new spending he has in mind, is a move towards progress; it isn’t – it is a move towards poverty and control of the masses. When you make people dependent, it retards progress, it retards innovation and creativity, it kills ambition. Why should you work hard when the government will take care all your needs?

What NObama is doing right now with the support of the Democratic party is to enslave the American people. We all know, it was Abraham Lincoln who freed the slaves of this country; the Democrats were against it, they started the KKK (Ku Klux Klan).

When I visited Gettysburg many years ago, I fully understood the fight of the north to free the slaves. Lately I’ve been questioning my affiliation with the Democratic Party for so many years. Will I go back again to my party after November? I don’t think I will. This primary have turned me sour towards my party, but like the rest of you I will continue to support reformation of the Democratic Party.

Heard from Nancy yesterday; she wants more money for O.O.F. – Obama Opportunity Fund. That must be the money he promised to pay Superdelegates for voting against their constituents’ wishes….

What is priceless, however, is the message on back of envelope Nance used to send the stuff. It says: the fate of this election is now in your hands.

NOW???? Nance, that’s the whole point. We think it should have been in our hands from the get go. PUMA!

#278ladyhawke: As I indicated, priority of Prowls is definitely an issue here..always! I personally would judge the Attorney General, Sec of State items of much more importance now and for the record down the line, as documentation of further action of reform and against the Democratic Party. I think this issue should be brought up again during the week and ask Murphyfor a formal Prowl..it underliines a very important technical issue that is of great use.

#285 CyberFerret52 on 09.13.08 at 4:10 pm

#93 Grizzly…don’t you dare stop posting!!! You have every right to contribute what you feel is important to this cause and I personally feel we need to know this kind of slime is being used by our OWN party. The democrats are going to lose because the so called party elites have no respect. The only comments you need to be concerned about is what the moderators or Murphy have to say about something. Post on Puma.

#284 NewOrleansPuma Prior to doing those prowls, I mailed, Murphy, Maryland & Mama, twice, and asked and asked for the prowls to be done and never heard from anyone. That’s when I decided to post it and lots of Pumas took action; however, I believe we would have reached more Pumas with a prowl from Murphy as she has all the e-mail addys. As it was, it was like pulling teeth having to post and repost day after day. I’m not going to do that again.

I am starting to get letters back from CVS,Proctor and Gamble,Charman, and Schering Corp. They said that they would take my letter in to consideration and I would be getting a Response in a couple of days.
C,mon Guys tell me what we need to do next.I’m not very good at leading(kinda Shy) but, I’m darn good at following.
Let’s get it started!!!

#297 New Orleans Puma No, I just love everything Native American. I have Gregory Perillo lithographs hanging all through my house, Crazy Horse, etc. I have several native american books written by Ed McGaa (Eagle Man) and actually tracked him down in South Dakota. I spoke to him over 1/2 hour about his upbringing, the whites forcing Christianity upon them. He for one never stood for it and told them he didn’t believe in the devil. He still practices a lot of the ceremonies such as the sweat lodge ceremony. One of the best books you can read is Black Elk Speaks by John Neihardt, and others by Ed McGaa, like Native Wisdom, Mother Earth Spirituality and Rainbow Tribe. I believe Native Americans are the true Americans and this land was stolen from them only to be plundered and raped by the white man, all in the name of greed.

#250shampoovita: Site has posted my comment about Randi Roach and adds more of the same…Ok…now we know…Excellent!

#307 Anna7000 on 09.13.08 at 4:34 pm

tillerylakelady – i think the best plan is:

1. wait to see if murphy organizes this into a group prowl.

2. either way, wait till next week when we can gather the names of the ceo’s.

just my 2 cents.

#308 tillerylakelady on 09.13.08 at 4:35 pm

LadyHawkke,
I fully agree with you,and when this is all over with Obama,Maybe we can do something to help the True Americans of this Great Country.

#309 NewOrleansPuma on 09.13.08 at 4:38 pm

#305ladyhawke: I also feel similarly and once, having done some work with Houmas in Louisiana, had one unofficially call me “Straight Eyes”…meaning I tell the truth…(True, I do!) I also once had a Winnebago women tell me that in their tradition if one feels one is Native then they believe one is…That I also love to think about! I also once went to a Tribal Employment Rights National Convention for work and one Apache man asked me what tribe I belonged to…I told him I belonged to the lost tribe of New Orleans and was searching for my tribe..He loved it and told me to keep looking…I will find it! We both laughed heartily!

A word about Lou Dobbs…He tells the TRUTH and has been known to apologize if proven wrong. (Refreshing already ain’t it.) I don’t agree with Dobbs on everything but, the man puts this country first whether it is popular or not and is EXTREMELY intelligent. He has won nearly every journalistic award there is and is a credentialed economist. Oh, he also has one rare gift that many of the very intelligent lack…he will listen. He, Bill and Hillary and McCain are the very few that have that rare ability that I can think of offhand.

#314 ladyhawkke on 09.13.08 at 5:10 pm

#308 NewOrleansPuma Then indeed you are in line with native american thinking. We have native america festivals here once a year and I meet lots of the tribe leaders. Of course, it’s all commercial, but I love it, the little children all dressed up in their native gear. I really want to get a drum as drumming is very relaxing. I’m going to go online and see what I can find.

#315 ladyhawkke on 09.13.08 at 5:17 pm

I love Lou Dobbs, especially his stance on illegal immigration. I am so tired of the pundits calling him anti-immigrant which is a flat out lie. I’m sick of paying for illegals when we have Americans who don’t get the same services. I must admit I do not follow party line even though I’m a registered Dem. I cross over lots and even voted for Pat Buchanan because he wanted to put a moratorium on immigration in general for 5 years. That got my vote! I recently signed up for newsletters with Pat Buchanan’s Brigade!

Thanks for the feedback to #162 letter to the editor. I wanted to make sure I got the point across without being an absolute nutcase snot.

My initial reaction was to write “there there, Joni, just be a good girl and stick with writing your little editorials for the newspaper. You can leave the heavy lifting to the women who can HANDLE it”.

#233 delphinefromfrance ,

Hello. It is good to see you. I am so sad that France thinks that America is not ready to elect a black president. If the black candidate would have had the moral character of Bill Cosby they would have won by a landslide. For Obama to get as far as he has shows that America IS ready….but just not ready for the most unqualified, unmoral, and unpatriotic candidate to run in history.

That is my point — we cannot let the hurricane bury Obama’s dissing McCain because of his handicap. There was outrage, but it did get buried by the hurricane and Palin’s interview.
We cannot let it go any more than we can let go the sexism exhibited during the primaries, the bias of the media or the corrupt caucuses — they are all part of a jigsaw puzzle and the more pieces we put together the better our goal is reached. Just my opinion.

#321 thecandypoem on 09.13.08 at 6:47 pm

I cancelled my subscription to the New Yorker because they–in spite of all their supposed fact checking–wrote in an introductory article about Palin that she had banned some books.

How long until the magazines will turn against Obama? They have helped him all along, but ultimately, the media are bootlickers, and when Obama sinks, will they sink with him? I don’t think so.

In fact, the media may soon be quite ready to accept stories about the fraud and DNC manipulation during the primaries and the convention. So, great writers, start submitting articles. I sense the wind shifting.

Obama clearly hates strong women, and the who charade of Obama and the Clintons now being the best of buddies is clearly a spin of Axelrod and the others, we all can see with our own eyes that there is way too much water under that bridge! What a joke!
