The Puma PAC Slate for Each and Every State
(Note: This is a work in progress. Thank you to Gogandalf and Trish and her Crack Team of Political Researchers. If you have any important objections or corrections to a slate, please let us know in comments.) We will be printing and mailing Puma PAC Slates to mail and hand out in Swing States starting in October.
These are the candidates Puma PAC recommends as deserving of your support on November 4th. We urge EACH AND EVERY Puma PAC member to go to the polls and VOTE on November 4th – PLEASE do NOT stay home.
Help us make sure the Obama Movement does not force its way into the White House and that the DONC hears our message LOUD AND CLEAR: There will be no unity in the Democratic Party until the voices of 18 million Democrats are respected and our votes COUNT each and EVERY TIME.
Use the slate for your state as a guide, but make up your own mind in the voting booth. We urge you to NOT vote for Barack Obama for president and to support as many congressional Democrats as you can. We also recommend that you NOT leave the top of the ticket BLANK. Write in Puma PAC or some other name or word, but don’t leave it blank. If all of our slates win in November, we maintain a healthy majority in Congress at the same time that we send Obama packing back to Chicago.
Notes: While we tried to withhold support for those elected officials who supported Obama against the wishes of the voters in their districts, that wasn’t possible or practical in every case. However, the most egregious instances of Super Delegate betrayal were duly noted, and those incumbents are NOT receiving our support.

Regarding delegates & accountability: we are on the same track, but maybe it takes a while to collect all the email addy’s? I’m not sure. I did email Murphy a while ago with a prowl suggestion for us to be contacting all of the Elections Officials, especially in the Caucus States, with our concerns about fraud.
That’s a little different than your idea of holding all of the delegates accountable who switched from Hillary to Obama even tho their constinuents voted for Hillary, but I think we’re on the same page.
Right on NVPuma, it’s all about holding them accountable.

She did well for her first major national media interview. Gibson’s being tough, but she’s giving it right back. I’ve a feeling that she’ll only improve with practice with more interviews and feeling more confident in her obvious abilities as a quick study. She’s got to be less political though and more direct in some of her answers though in my opinion, some hedging on foreign policy. I did like her answer that we should never lose site of the fact that energy is a base on which our national security rests and thus has significant foreign policy implications. Right on.

i am going to the first meeting to be held by my democratic precinct chair tonight. as chair it his responsibility to help turn our precinct blue. i just got off the phone with him – he thinks his responsibility is to get our precinct to vote for bo. i “gently” suggested that he needs to help the down ticket peeps – he says we will wait and see what the other guests think. when i go to my volunteer position tomorrow at headquarters i will be addressing his position with my field director if he does not change his stance !! anyway, i know i will be fuming and steaming all during this meeting, so i will thinking of all of you here thinking – blue, now hold your temper. and in addition, i have houston hurricane peeps showing up here, so i don’t know when i will be relate my experience.
Sly – I think he’s getting pissed that she keeps calling him “Charlie” – as far as the e-mails , there were only a couple of us doing them , and that’s not very effective . I never heard back from Murphy or anyone , so I just felt like I was wasting a whole lot of time . I keep re-sending the ones to Pa. and Ohio though . Maybe I will have a new one for you tomorrow

LOL … I didn’t make myself clear in that first post. (picture me embarassed here) I was just trying to say I was just joining for today to excuse the fact if I was being repetitious with the link.
#588 hillstheone – I actually voiced my concerns about the caucus cheating by Nobama here in Iowa quite firmly to a DNC rep. (who is/was also on the DNC executive committee) at our state convention. I also let her know how incredibly disappointed & angry I was with the DNC & Howard Dean for not speaking out against the sexism against Hillary during the primaries & asked her to specifically communicate that message to Mr. Dean. She said she would. At her precinct, they checked everyone’s ID because of issues they were having with people who didn’t live in the precinct trying to participate.
All of this is to say, I’ve tried to communicate on some of the caucus fraud & agree that it should be done in a more formal way to actual elections officials.
I guess I should add that I personally witnessed cheating in our precinct & heard several first hand stories at the after-caucus Hillary campaign gathering in Cedar Rapids of others who encounterd cheating in their precincts. I think we were all extremely surprised & had no idea we’d be up against such underhanded tactics.

Charlie Gibson was a lot harder on her than anyone’s been on BO. I like the fact that she never stutters or squirms ala BO and she never looks away. Some of the questions were inappropriate – what does taking a trip around the world have to do with being a foreign policy expert? I travelled around the world, and I don’t think I’m an expert, though I didn’t give a speech to a crowd of thousands. It that what makes you an expert?

A lot of the action-ideas in my ACTION LISTS I’ve just gathered from the discussions in these comments boards… and from what people have suggested when I’ve posted my previous lists.
I gather the ideas that seem to have aroused most enthusiasm… or that just seem good. I try to distill them… make them simple to understand and apply, etc. That’s just a project I’ve taken on, in here.
In PUMApac we all agree that we’re not voting for BO… and defeating him is just one aspect of what we’re about.

The disgusting anti- Palin propaganda has now filtered down to even smallish town America. Our local “independent” weekly, “Cascadia Weekly” has been publishing anti -Palin tripe for the past 2 weeks, culminating in a drawing of her in the famous Marilyn Monroe wind-up- the-skirt pose.
What’s particularly interesting about this “pile on Palin” jamboree is that she is the _only_ candidate that has recieved such treatment. Not Obama, not Biden, not McCain. Palin and Palin only has been reserved for rough treatment.
To me, this is a flashing red light and loud siren signal that this country is absolutely in need of a Woman at the Top.
I am very worried that, if people vote Independent this time, Obama could/*might* win, much as Gore lost to Bush with the Nadar voters in FLA. eight years ago.
I think it is absolutely crucial that McCain/Palin win this election. And fear a repeat of the 2000 upset if people vote other than McCain.

1. How can we see a break out of pledged delegate votes from the overall total? Since we know supers could vote however they wanted, but pledged were the votes that should reflect the will of the voters, I want to see the pledged numbers so I can compare it to the numbers immediately following the primaries.
2. I wonder just what exactly was it about the convention that Germond thought was so “historic”? Was it the fact that they stole the election from the first candidate in history, and a woman no less, to win more primaries than any other who had come before her?

it is possible to get the name address etc of the pledged delegates. every county’s democratic party has the pricinct info – in turn when the delegates moves up to state the state party will have the names of the delegates that were voted to go forrward to national. the national party ( which is where i believe you are being stonewalled)

However, I can see where some of Obama supporters are going to take bits and pieces of her responses and attack her. She’s a lady of class and I would be extremely dissapointed in her (again) if she attacked Sarah Palin… especially given the fact Palin has credited her with deep appreciation for breaking that glass ceiling for women.
Although I’m not a supporter of hers anymore I sure wouldn’t be displeased if Ms. Clinton is president someday ( it might make me feel better too for giving away all that money to her campaign). But I think her endorsment of Obama this year has really messed things up for her career. It’s almost as detrimental as associating the Bush name with McCain.
My apologies to the Hillary die hards. I really do like that gal in many respects and understand the hopes and dreams she represents for the women who love her no matter what.

I’ve been following the financial news for 2 years like a hawk.
So I’m really clear on what’s coming.
There is nothing government can do at this point to “fix it”. The whole mess has got to unwind. There’s way way too much bad credit out there.
All we have now is a choice between an inflationary or deflationary depression.
What Congress has been doing for the past year and a half, with all the bailouts and a$$ ki$$ing on Ben Bernanke, Paulson and the Investment Banks and Wall Street will lead us into an inflationary depression.
This inflation has only just started to feed through and already has thrown many on the bottom rungs of society into destitution. Many small businesses are gone. Truckers hurting, etc. etc.
Inflation is an absolute killer for the average person. But it’s been a nice, unexpected bonus for the Banks and Wall Street! They’ve got Congress on their side! Lucky Folks!
Witnessing the Democratic Congress go to bat for Wall Street and the Banks this year ,while throwing the rest of us under the bus with inflation, is what finally turned me against them after 40 years of voting Democrat.
Until I found this blog, I didn’t know they were flaming sexists on top of everything else. Sheesh.
As to the list of “people to vote for” on this post, if you are concerned about the financial mess and still want to support democrats, there are THREE (out of 231 Dem. votes) who voted against the Fannie/Freddie bailout. One of them is Marcie Kaptur (sp?) of Ohio. Another was from Oregon and I forget the last. The bill was HR3221 if anyone is interested.
I called Marcie Kaptur after the vote and thanked her profusely for standing up for the people and against her party. It took a lot of courage to do that.

Ya my dad became a city supervisor and just retired recently. Not just my family has benefited from ROTC. His leadership skills and college education helped to repair our run down infrastructure in this town. He also worked with Audubon to help save The Least Tern. He couldn’t afford college we are from the hills son. WE ARE THE HILL BILLYS. ROTC helped my family BIG time.

Democratic jitters about the US presidential race have spread to Capitol Hill, where some members of Congress are worried that Barack Obama’s faltering campaign could hurt their chances of re-election.
Party leaders have been hoping to strengthen Democratic control of the House and Senate in November, but John McCain’s jump in the polls has stoked fears of a Republican resurgence.
A Democratic fundraiser for Congressional candidates said some planned to distance themselves from Mr Obama and not attack Mr McCain.
“If people are voting for McCain it could help Republicans all the way down the ticket, even in a year when the Democrats should be sweeping all before us,” said the fundraiser, a former Hillary Clinton supporter.
“There is a growing sense of doom among Democrats I have spoken to . . . People are going crazy, telling the campaign ‘you’ve got to do something’.”
Concern was greatest among first-term representatives who won seats in traditionally Republican districts in the landslide of 2006. “Several of them face a real fight to hold on to those seats,” the fundraiser said.
Tony Podesta, a senior Democratic lobbyist, said members of Congress were “a little nervous” after Mr McCain shook up the race with his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate and intensified attacks on Mr Obama.
“Republicans have been on the offensive for the past two weeks . . . You don’t win elections on the defensive.”
The campaign manager for a first-term Democratic congressman from a blue-collar district in the north-east rejected suggestions that Mr Obama had become a liability. He said his candidate would reach out to Republicans and avoid attacks on Mr McCain.
I’ve said this a long time ago, if NObama is the nominee for the Democratic Party, there would be a domino effect down the the line for democrats running for office this November.

Thr Clintons are hardly campaigning for Obama at all. They are doing the least amount that they can do to still stay in the party. There is no viable third party, so in order for them to get anything accomplished, they have to play with the hand that was dealt them.
Hillary and Bill both did everything they possibly could to avoid this outcome, but the DNC ignored them like they ignored us.
And for now that means smiling while they are throwing up in their mouths’.
Hillary absolutely needs the help and support of the Dem party to be both re-elected to the Senate and elected to the Presidency.
They are both laying in the weeds until the time is right.
One of the cultural issues we have in America is that we are always looking for instant gratification. Like the commercial says, “I want it all, and I want it now.” Business are always at current and next quarter results.
In many other countries they look at 5, 10 or even 20 year plans.
We just need to be a little patient, and continue our path. I believe the Clintons have more than a two month plan.

Why I’m (Finally) Supporting Sarah Palin

Since John McCain announced Sara Palin as his running mate, like many of you I suspect, I’ve been constantly asked: “What do you think of Sarah Palin?”
The struggle that I’ve been going through in trying to answer that question honestly, is that all the things I find compelling about her:
that she’s attractive and charismatic, has a great personal narrative, is eloquent, a ‘breath of fresh air’–yes, even “tokenism” (for lack of a better word)
were also true of Obama. And, I, like many Clinton supporters, decided those were not sufficiently strong reasons to support him.
So, in one sense, I would feel like a hypocrite supporting Palin for any of those reasons.
Although I think she is more experienced than Obama—(She, has, after all, directed a budget of over $10 billion, supervised 24,000 employees and negotiated with foreign governments -Russia and China over fishing rights); she is lightly credentialed in terms of the possible field of socially progressive Republican women McCain could have chosen (Snowe, Whitman, Hutchinson etc.).
And, although I respect her integrity, there is virtually no social issue on which I share common ground with Sarah Palin. Unlike John McCain, who has never been ideological; Sarah Palin is, and unabashedly so.
However as I’ve struggled with these issues since her selection, I keep coming back to two points.
Of all the basic rights—human rights– that Democrats have stood for—there are two that seem to me to be the most important:
the right to vote (and have that vote counted fairly) and the right to free speech.
The right to vote, it seems to me, is not simply about exercising your franchise—but actually having that exercise tied to a result. Whether we look narrowly at Florida and Michigan, or broadly at caucus and convention intimidation and fraud—what becomes clear—crystal clear—is that the delegates—both in number and composition– did not accurately represent the ‘will of the people’ that voted for them. And, as a tribute to their organizational skill, if not their integrity, the Obama campaign did everything in their power to ensure that that would be the case.
Just as importantly, throughout the nomination process, the Obama campaign did everything possible to curtail the free speech of those who opposed him. Whether it was as simple as harassing supporters at the local metro, or as brazen as intimidating delegates at state conventions and threatening members of the Black Caucus—opposition to Barack Obama put people at risk—to be taunted, insulted and harassed in a way I’ve never before experienced in a political campaign.
So, I come down to this. Do we believe that the Obama campaign curtailed the freedom of speech of those who opposed him? Do we believe that Clinton’s supporter’s votes were not counted fairly? If we answer ‘yes; as I have answered, than it seems to me that the fact that we disagree with Sarah Palin on reproductive choice, or creationism, or even protecting the Polar Bears—is the human rights equivalent of small potatoes. There are two basic rights that make us a democracy; two essential rights that keep us free. If I have my voice—and my vote—I can work for all the other issues. Without them, I can do nothing.
So, this fall I will vote for John McCain and, yes, Sarah Palin. I will vote as a protest, and as a promise. A protest at what took place; a promise that it will never happen again. I will vote as a democrat.

A high percentage of people here are voting for McCain/Palin as a protest vote. Some will stay home, and some will vote 3rd party or write-in. I, for one, am doing the protest vote – the first time in my life I have been forced to vote for a Republican because of the DNC.

I have spent some time in Galveston. It is a neat city. I used to love the outside beach bars. They had a bad hurricane, years ago that wiped the place out. It killed alot of people because they did not have the kind of information that we have these days and they did not expect it.

I gathered information from DemconWatch and LobbyDelegates on who originally endorsed BO and HRC – then I went into a website that showed every State the individual that was up for re-election – I then took each of these people and made notes which one was for BO and which one was for HRC – (this was before the big switch over of so many delegates from HRC to BO) I then made note of the ones that had received money from BO and Pelosi especially those where HRC won big in their districts or State —
Hope that I explained what I did on the research – I really do have all the 50 States – been feeding them a few at a time as I just did above.

The idea is that you dont leave the top of the ticket literally blank. There IS the fear of vote tampering. So be sure to write something in. I like Puma PAC because it’s unambiguous and it’s like we’re “leaving our mark.”
Here’s the strategy on voting McCain/Palin: In the crucial swing states (PA, OH, FL, CO, VA, MI, MO, IN and maybe more as we go along), Puma PAC is recommending that members exercise the Full Throttle Protest Vote and pull the lever for McCain/Palin. If you really, really, really cannot bring yourself to vote for a republican ticket, that is OKAY. Just DONT vote for Obama.
In the safe red states it’s either McCain/Palin or Puma PAC — doesnt make much difference. If McCain/Palin have it sewn up, your Protest Vote can be cast a bit less drastically. In the safest blue states, same thing.

It was a great show, I was really getting into the story about how NOW had changed to being totally about abortion issues–I remember it was so much more back in the 70′s. But work comes early in the morning so I couldn’t listen to it all. Wish there was a transcript.
I saw the line on the liberal blog I used to hang out at–they’ve gone totally koolaid, print the BO talking points verbatim, and delete any comments about primary vote totals. Riverdaughter and others have the identical story about being captivated by a political blog then becoming estranged. It’s not just a national Democratic party fracture– that’s just a mirror of the smaller fractures that have happened on a personal level many times over that affect who people are willing to drink their morning coffee with..

I was not sure what the Bush Doctrine was, so I just looked it up on the Wikipedia. (I know how it is put together … but it is a place to start.) According to the entry, the “Bush Doctrine” is a series of foreign policies related to one another. It is not just one policy. It would seem that Palin’s clarification question was reasonable and Gibson was unreasonable in his response. The media hits bottom and keeps on digging.

He is running for re-election to the US House and has been the representative for the 5th most rural district in the U.S. for many years. He was a light supporter of Senator Clinton but made a statement to the media where he basically refused to endorse BO.

Congressman Tanner signed a letter to all Democratic Congressional superdelegates endorsing Senator Clinton and strongly urging their vote for Senator Clinton. er, No, I am NOT 100% certain of the voting regulations in every state wrt to writing in a candidate or a bogus name, like Puma PAC.
Though I find it extremely difficult to imagine that a write-in for an entity not on the ballot would revert to the candidate of the party of the voter. That makes no sense. How on earth would they do that?
No one knows how I vote. There is no name on my ballot. There is only a record that I showed up at the polls and a record of my party affiliation. They cant even know for sure that I even did vote. I check in at the door and then I could just turn around and walk out.
I think what you are referencing is the law in many states, or so I have heard, that if you write-in Hillary Clinton, your vote goes to Obama because HE is in the same party as Hillary, not because YOU are in the same party as Obama.

I think that we should take into account information people are providing. I’m a bit confused about the reasoning for not voting McCain/Palin in MA. and CA., considering they are very Blue States.
I suppose the reasoning is that they are so Blue they would never tip towards Republican?

1. I am a Democrat
2. That I checked in to vote on Nov 4th as a Democrat (that’s how they figure out the “likely” voters from the merely “registered” voters.
3. How many votes were cast for the Democratic candidate in my polling place.
When I go to the polls to vote, the party knows that I am a registered Democrat and that I voted on November 4th (although they can’t REALLY know that since maybe I sneaked out of the polling place after checking in)
Put it this way, If 100 people show up to vote, say 60 Democrats and 40 Republicans, and the vote count shows 60 votes for the Dem candidate and 40 votes for the Repub candidate, then the Democratic Party can feel pretty safe in assuming I voted for the Democratic candidate. And the Repub Party can feel pretty safe that each of their 40 party members voted for the Republican. But they cant actually know for certain that each party member voted the party line. Perhaps 2 dems voted repub and 2 repubs voted dem.
If, on the other hand 60 Dems and 40 Repubs show up to vote and the Dem candidate receives 20 votes while the Repub gets 80, then the parties know for sure that many Democrats crossed over and voted for the Repub.
But they dont know exactly which ones.
That’s what a “secret” ballot means.

I would like to offer a different perspective on ABC. Frankly, in my opinion they are one of the lesser-biased news outlets. For instance, their Tom Abrahams wrote several fairly objective pieces about PUMA on his website.
I have also observed they have been less strident in their support for Obama than other networks. Lastly, recall it was an ABC news reporter got ARRESTED by the police for trying to cover a (corrupt, no doubt) Democrats breakfast meeting Democrats in Denver. I still wonder to this day if that was the meeting they discussed what to do about Rollcall.
CNN, msnbc are much more in need of a good smackdown, as goanderson would say.

Like some of the posts I have read, I too am confused. Why is it that McCain is not recommended as the choice for all the states referenced above? While I can appreciate that there are some PUMAs unwilling to pull the switch for Republicans, and I respect their positions, doesn’t a vote for McCain mean that Obama needsTWO votes to compete? To me, that is reason alone to vote McCain. Isn’t it our goal to ensure that Obama is not elected?
Most people outside of CA think of San Francisco and the Bay Area as being representative of the state (liberal). But, there is a huge republican constituency in our Central Valley and in Southern CA. (We didn’t get Aaah-nold for nothing!)

I’ve got some hope about this situation. The ones who are die-hard Jim Jones koolaid drinkers get upset at the mere notion. But there’s a huge faction out there of people who are “just used to” voting Dem. They are the ones who can be swayed pretty easily I think, especially after the debates.
I guess the question is: how many Obama supporters are off the beam “in love with their master” types and how many have simply never voted Republican, as a matter of habit?
Our impressions of just how many TRUE Obama supporters there are out there may be skewed due to the barrage of rampant and extreme anti -Palin acting out that we’ve witnessed in the past couple weeks.
It could be there is a huge faction of “silent Democrats” who will change their vote along the way.
That’s what I’m betting on.

Murphy..just my 2 cents worth. In Colorado I WILL NOT be voting for Ed Perlmutter even though he is the incumbent. He came out strongly in favor of bo in Feb. I wrote asking why. His letter back to me says “although I will fight for whoever is the Democratic nominee, it is my belief that our most promising presidential candidate is Barack Obama. Senator Obama has captured my imagination and represents the promise of hope and change for our country.” He has even changed his signs to read Perlmutter for change. (I hope we really change him!) He was rude to Hillary delegates throughout the caucus system. (I went as far as state and campaigned for national but knew I could never back bo so my heart wasn’t in it.) He is also considered an extremely liberal member of Congress, and if the figures are correct has voted with Pelosi 96.3% of the time. Although the Republican candidate (John Lerew) is new to the political scene, having only interned in Washington, he will have my vote.

I am in the Bay Area so my experience has been mixed. To tell you the truth, I’ve talked to many who are afraid to show their preference for McCain, who are reluctant to post signs in their yards, who won’t risk bumper stickers — for fear of retaliation– this is a very diverse area. My husband tells me that he is hearing the same thing at work. People are just reluctant to say anything anti-Obama.
In our area, we know of a family who hosted a fund raiser for Bill Clinton years ago — a prominent (obviously) family, very pro-Dem. They have no signs, no indication at all. We all think that the *absence* of McCain signs in our area is indicative that not all have had the kool-aid. But, that is merely a guess based on what we have witnessed over the many years we have lived in this area. There are Obama signs, but even those are scarce.
On the other hand, I know people in the valley and in the south of CA who are NOT voting for Obama, and who are not afraid to say so. I think there is a large “no-Bama” coalition in Los Angeles.
I really think CA could be a closer race than is being reported, but that is just a gut feeling.

I’ve been reading the list. Gabrielle Giffords in AZ got $9,000 from the Obama campaign as a superdelegate, acccording to Lynette Long’s Info. I am a constituent and Hillary won in her district. I know she’s not voting as a Congressional Rep, but then again that shows she’s not listening to her constituency. I have a problem voting for her, but if we look at too many superdelegates will we end up not electing a Democratic Congress? I’m struggling with that.
The buying off of delegates is just a symptom of how undemocratic the system has become, IMHO. It needs an overhaul, and it looks like PUMA PAC will be the shop that does it!

okay, that was one creepy little post up there re. authoritariansm, Marxism, etc. in the Obama campaign. Here’s why:
I noticed a couple days ago, for the first time, in a clip from his acceptance speech at the convention a startling thing:
Everybody in the “audience” was sitting straight forward, holding their sea of “OBAMA” signs at the SAME LEVEL and in the SAME direction. They ALL had the exact same signs.
And I thought, my god, I have never ever seen such an image of “group think” in the United States. Ever. Mussolinis’ Italy, yes. Hitlers’ Germany, yes. Maos’ China, yes.
But never. ever. in the USA.
It made me re-think some of the chatter I’d heard here about Obama being kind of Fascist.
And then I contrasted that to the Republican Convention (the _first_ one_ I’ve ever watched in my life!) and how the people in the audience were jumpin’ around, wearing silly hats, waving signs in all directions, some of them hand made!- a kind of joyful ode to individualism.
That image from the Dem Convention really rattled me and I cannot for the life of me think how I missed it the first time around.

Since the Obama campaign was successful in stealing the Democratic nomination, does it not follow that they’d do anything to steal the election as well? If you leave the top of the ballot blank, can some election thief put in Obama’s name. I am under the impression that if you are a registered Democrat, your vote will be counted for the Democratic candidate whether or not you write his name on the ballot. Wouldn’t marking xxxx (if not writing in McCain/Palin or some third party) work better instead of leaving the top blank. If that is allowed, that should make it more difficult for ballot thieves to insert Nobama’s name on it. Just wondering.

will admit that this particular candidate has instilled a fear in us. Whether directly or indirectly caused by him, we feel that if we displayed any sign of preference towards anyone other than him, we have this fear of RETRIBUTION AND RETALIATION. Whether we care to admit it or not… it was the same with Hillary and now it is the same with McCain. We are somehow afraid to put our yard sign out or a sticker on our car.

I’m in the Bay Area and Hillary won our state. Obama is the new Moonies of our area too and most Hillary supporters are back in the closet except for me.
I get daily negative feedback but at least many can’t deny that I am more informed then they are and talk circles around them thanks to all my PUMA friends here that pass so much info my eyes almost bleed at night.
I live in Walnut Creek, and see very few political signs at all…not sure what that means.

freddie…very easy to answer. started at our precinct caucus (can’t speak for other precincts because by time it was over we just wanted out of there!) in Colorado when we walked in and entire place was plastered with bo signs and people were trying to put stickers on everyone. really stood out who didn’t have them! Then bo people were registered first, edwards second, and Hillary people last. When it came time to talk bo people were allowed to go first. Then it waas interesting to find out some “Hillary” supporters were actually bo supporters and joined Hillary group because it was smaller and they wanted to get on to the county convention. Never knew after that who you could trust! And we only have one yard sign in our neighborhood. For bo. Usually there are 8-10 on our block.

so, Ive been playing with math tonight, because it helps to focus after dealing with self-annointed people who are political virgins who put themselves in charge of Obama’s campaign in East Tennessee because even obama knows he can’t win here. So, these women declare themselves the know it all go to people for this campaign.
They talked tonight about how what we’re going to see in East Tennessee is going to be unprecedented. God, I could go on and on, but I’m going to just talk about numbers because even though they want to preach about a new kind of politics, it still comes down to numbers and these red necks in East Tennessee aint gonna vote themselves a Democrat, no matter what and I’ve looked back since 2000 and it has gotten worse. I couldn’t find data for 1996 for my specific county other to find out that my county, Knox county, tn, did NOT VOTE FOR BILL CLINTON in either 1992 or 1996.
But, what I did find since 2000 is astounding and it cracks me up that this woman tonight truly believes she is going to change the electorial map single handedly by switching East Tennessee… Okay.
Anyway:
Gore lost this county by 25,882 votes in 2000 and the spread was 57.6% Bush to 40.49% Gore
Now, from 2000-2004 Knox County saw a population increase of approximately 18,142 people
In 2004 Kerry lost this county by 44,790 votes and the spread was 62.10% to 37.00%. Now get this, from 2000-2004 the Republicans picked up 23,952 voters that means the republicans gained more votes than the net population gain in the county and showed a 27.5% increase in voters from the 2000 election.
The 2004 Democratic performance had Kerry with 37% of the vote and an overall voter increase of 5,044 votes or an 8.27% increase in total number of Democratic voters from 2000. That means for every single voter the Democrats gained in this county from 2000-2004 the Republicans gained approximately 5 voters.
Now here comes the real shocker that its like, if this self-annointed Queen Obamite really thinks about this and thinks about the fact that she has done NOTHING yet to GOTV for obama here, she is going to get her face smashed on election day… hahaha here it comes
2004-2006 we had a major senatorial race in 2006 so i wanted to see how we did in voter turnout. The Democrats had a 19% decrease in voter turnout from 2004-2006 and the Republicans had a 37% decrease in this county from 2004-2006 and the Republican STILL carried the county by 13 percentage points. That means that 17% less Republicans turned out from 2004 to 2006 than Democrats and the Republicans STILL won the race in this county….
DOES THIS WOMAN seriously think that “new politics” is going to win it here? McCain is polling overall in this state by 24 points (according to the last poll taken just after the DNC) I mean seriously.
I won’t even get started on how they legally have to form a PAC in order to raise money for a headquarters, phones, gear, etc if they don’t have national money, which trust me, they don’t.
WTF do they think is going to happen here? hahahahaha, Hillary would not have carried this county. She COULD have carried the state but she would not have carried this county and I would have worked my heart and as- off for her here.
NOW, I just want to go to the headquarters and go in and sit down and prop my feet up and bring a bag of popcorn, pop it, and eat it. Why did Obama get hired as a “summer associate” in 1989 at the law firm which had hired Ayers’ wife, and where Ayers’ father was a prominent friend of the managing partner at Sidley & Austin? The answer is obvious. Ayers was grooming Obama as his future “front.”
Where did Obama get his first and only legal job after Harvard? At a law firm where Tony Rezko was a prominent client and where name partner Judson Miner was a law school classmate of Bernadine Dohrn-Ayers. Yes, the pieces are starting to come together.
Was Obama telling ABC the truth when he said met the Ayers’ at a coffee klatch at the Ayers home in 1995? Ayers had already been working with Obama for seven years; Ayers had appointed Obama to head a $50 million foundation. Did Ayers appoint a stranger? Or a front man? The answer is obvious.
Obama has relentlessly tried to conceal the Ayers/Obama time line, and the ongoing connections between the men. I am reading each post above and I can’t believe it. I can, but I keep thinking that it is not right. Is there a certain demographics out there that we think will cause this kind of threat ? I mean, I have spoken to some serious Obama followers in their 50′s and above.. regular folks – I don’t think they will do anything. hell we’ve got the technology, now to look at a database and find precincts with high turnout in areas that vote Democratic. you find the HOUSES in those precincts with NO political activity and you register THOSE people. Then you call them, you make sure they get to the polls. That’s targeted registration and I know they are not that refined because they don’t even have a legal means to collect money.
She’s so stupid or ignorant that she doesn’t know that a PAC is required to collect and spend money because she says that since Obama is NOT accepting PAC money, then there will be no PACs. Well in order for her to legally set up a campaign here and accept money, she HAS to set up a PAC and I have every intention of calling to find out if it has been set up. Which I doubt.
There is no way to open an account and have purchasing power or to have power to even sign for a headquarters if she is NOT a PAC. Geeze and it could be as simple as Knoxville for obama.

But then reality sets in and there is no resistance since all institutions for independent organization have been destroyed. Dem4 – I remember when my father would take our ’41 plymouth, that had no heater/ac and we would freeze in the winter and sweat like bullets in the summer. He would put $2 worth of gas in it and that practically filled it up!!!

I got my license late, I was afraid to drive. I had a friend killed in a car wreck and I was just afraid. So, I didn’t get a license until about 22 or 23. I took the car back to college with me and i remember in December of my junior year well my 5th year ( I was a 6-year student), I had to fill it up from about 1/4 of a tank and literally between 10 and 15 filled it up and that was like, 2001.

WHY THE SECRECY ABOUT OBAMA’S COLLEGE RECORDS?
(NEW YORK, NY)(September 12, 2008) Barack Obama had the wrong calling. Instead of being a “community organizer” he should have joined the CIA. Obama knows how to cover his tracks. He could be called the “clandestine candidate.”
Obama spent two years at Columbia University yet left virtually no fingerprints of his presence there. Could that be because Columbia was where Mr. Obama first met “mad bomber” William Ayers?
Obama has also refused to release his Columbia University transcripts. What secrets lurk there? Likewise for Occidental College where he attended for two years. What is he trying to hide? I arrived in the Columbia area to study theology at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine shortly after Obama had left, so I know the neighborhood well. I have gone back to retrace were he might have been. No luck. No footprints, either.
What has Obama’s past behavior over the past four years taught me? When Obama is hiding something he is hiding something.
Is it just a coincidence that Obama and Ayers were on the Columbia campus together? Did they meet and make their initial contact at that time? Had Obama been turned on to Ayers by Frank Marshall Davis? Was there a Khalid Al-Mansour and William Ayers connection during this early period. Questions, questions. But no answers from Mr. Obama.
Did Ayers point Obama in the direction of Chicago as a place to hone Obama’s “organizing” skills?

The fact that Obama has crated a void concerning his college years, after claiming in his own book he went to New York to study in an urban environment, makes me queasy. Did he find what he was looking for in New York? What did he find? Who did he find? Blank.
What is Obama hiding?
No major party nominee for the presidency has led a life with, pardon the expression, black holes at crucial points in his life. Why was Obama invisible at Columbia? What would his college transcripts show? Why are the mainstream media tiptoeing away from any searching examination of Obama’s college years?
The Wall Street Journal speculated that Obama is concealing that he received racial preferences and obtained his degree through affirmative action. Why wouldn’t Obama want to put that theory to rest by releasing his college records?
While the Journal’s theory is as equally plausible as mine, I believe Obama is concealing that he had his first contacts with William Ayers while both were living in the Columbia neighborhood. Ayers had recently surfaced after having been “underground” for a decade.
No one has been able to nail down when Obama met Ayers. My 2.0 timeline leaves the matter open (see below). There is no hard evidence. The only concrete information we have is that Obama has blatantly and repeatedly lied about the timeline of his relationship with Ayers.
Deception of Obama’s sort is probative in and of itself. The fact that he lies, lies repeatedly and lies blatantly, is indicative of the sensitivity of the Obama-Ayers connection.
While Obama’s minions obviously want to vet Sarah Palin’s past, he has precluded any vetting of his own peculiar history. He claims in his own words that he went to Columbia to find a black experience, and then says virtually nothing about those experiences.
Eight years ago, I made a very controversial TV commercial that aired on Channel 9 in New Hampshire, questioning George Bush’s qualifications for the presidency. My words then resonate now. I said, “Don’t trust George Bush with your vote until he trusts you with the truth about his past.” The same words can be applied to Obama. Eight years later, my words have found a new target, and a new void.
In the meantime, did Barack Obama meet William Ayers in New York? It sure looks that way from all of the secrecy surrounding Obama’s Columbia years.

I mean honestly, it’s not a valid argument to vote for a ticket no matter how you slice it, if you knock off your VP nominee, bring in the heavy hitter as VP, and try to run the ticket as though obama has control, vision, prepardness, ect?

But seriously get her the hell out of the country for some time to take a step back and figure out for themselves what THEY want to do. But, the irony is, I didn’t see obama’s speech. i didn’t care. The next day everyone had already been drinking kool-aid the night before and were on cloud-nine. It was really really weird.
I would say that since HFJ was a leader of the Democratic leadership council that he was removed because of that.
What I don’t understand was, how much influence did Terry McAuliffe have over that convention? He was party chair. I was NEVER impressed. The more I heard people goo goo and gaa gaa over him, the less comfortable I was with it.
I know there is nothing we can do. It’s very very difficult. I’ve been working for so long. For four years non-stop and 8 years overall and really 12 if you consider, I did my first political action for President Clinton. It’s hard to stop. it’s hard because I don’t know what to do now. I don’t know who these people are who have infiltrated MY party and can’t stop themselves from talking in such a deragatory way about President Clinton and Hillary Clinton. they didn’t do ANYTHING to these people.
I kind of feel like these people are just backlashing against “establishment” because of Bush and they don’t have a clue. It’s like, they in some way feel responsible for Bush being in because maybe they feel they didin’t do enough so now, it’s like, I’m here so now that I’m here, to hell with everyone else whose ever done anything from a local level to a former president.
Dem4hillary – I didn’t have a problem, but poor Larry Sinclair was thrown off of his sites and had to change about 8 times. Have you seen his site? I guess the msm will discuss this once bo loses! This guy has really been raked over the coals. Actually, I do believe him and so do quite a few other people.

haha, this came off a Dem meetup group tonight. They are upset by the turnout tonight. They are really scared. it must be panick time in Chicago. I mean if the newly inspired are this panicked, what about the longtime crook? This is just WILD. i have never seen stuff like this coming from people. Not in 2002, 2004, or 2006. Its falling apart.

Regarding politicians “having ” to support Obama:
Nobody has to support anybody. It is the repercussions of not supporting that many will not risk.
Not very many St Thomas Mores around….in this country and day and age…. Not much integrity in any of them, from bottom to top.
The governor of Illinois, Rob Blogoyavich (sp?) stuck up for Palin, saying that she has enough experience to be a vp. He said she is the executive of a State, that it is more experience than being a Senator, that a Senator’s decision making is part of a team. A Governor has to make the decisions themselves, and is responsible for every person in that state. Pissed off a lot of the obots!
ARIZONA…..Gabrielle Giffords should NOT be endorsed. She not only went early to Obama, she did so against her district and her state. AND she’s a member of Arizona List…which works for women candidates – HA!
I had high hopes for her, but not after that “boneheaded” move.
And I have called her office and told her so.
Correction on Delaware. John Carney, who was endorsed by the Delaware Democratic Party, lost his bit for to run on the democratic ticket for governor to Jack Markell, current StateTreasurer. The primary was held Tuesday. Jack is a progressive and should prove to be a good governor. He acutally has a health care plan to assure all Delaware citizens have health coverage.
Please add to Michigan the name of Mark Schauer for the 7th congressional district. Mark is the Democrat opposing the ONLY Freshman Republican from the 2006 campaign, Tim Whalberg. Whalberg is so far to the right that he makes McCain/Palin look like flaming liberals!! Whalberg has received a lot of support from Dick Cheney – who has held fund raisers for him. Mark Schauer is the first serious candidate the Democrats have put up in this area in more than 20 years. We need all the support we can get.
