A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Tuesday, for instance, shows that McCain is now winning among white women 52% to 41% after having been statistically tied with Obama in that crucial category just a month ago.

the other thing I wanted to know that in his book Obama claims that he and his mom were so poor that they had to live on foodstamps but then how did his mom afford the air tickets to indonesia, the private schools there, + the air ticket to hawaii, + the private schools in hawaii. It makes me so mad when OB tries to smooth things over about his past, saying people don’t want to hear about that. They want to hear about what’s going to be done about jobs, health care, high gas prices and so on. He acts like he can tell people what to think.
The Obama camp is just mean. The people he has hired (Bill Burton and David Axelrod, etc) are mean people. I think Obama is mean. I think his wife is mean. I think Obama’s associates, and ex pastor are mean, and I even think the congregation at Trinity Church is mean, considering their responses to hateful people (glee).

The more I ponder on Obama’s defense of his remarks this morning, the more I am convinced this was no slip of the tongue.
All of us have said things that were taken the wrong way at one time or another. If we truly did not mean it to be taken the way it was taken, we come right out and say that. “Hey, that’s not what I was trying to say, what I was trying to say was….I did not mean it to be taken that way and I am sorry if it came out that way”.
The way Obama handled it reveals that he has zero remorse for offending anyone. He is perfect. The rest of us are just too stupid or “sensitive” to keep up with his superior intellectual capabilities. He is above apology, and is above submitting an explanation to those too feeble minded to understand.
And he went further. He attacked those who did not go along with his charade.
Can you imagine a guy like that treating the head of state for another country in the same manner?
I keep hearing how politically savy the guy is. If he is that savy, he certainly had no doubt in his mind what kind of reaction his comments would get. I have not seen many politicians that would abandon a voting block so quickly as he has done here. the “screw you, I’ll win without you” approach. Pretty amazing.
You can out lipstick on a pig, and it’s still a pig. Guess you can also give Ivy league degrees to a misogynist, but it’s still a misogynist.

There’s a mini controversy swirling about McCain’s ad/ and Obama’s response to it, and sex ed starting in kindergarten.
The McCain ad brings up Obama co-sponsoring a bill to push through sex education starting in kindergarten.
Obama says McCain is “perverse” because Obama is a father of two girls and the bill is to stop pedophiles–to teach “bad touch” and all of that to kindergarteners.
(I’m sure that is included in the sex ed to K-class students, but it’s not just that lesson.)
McCain’s ad is accurate! Obama does want sex ed to START in kindergarten, even if the lessons are “age appropriate,” it is STILL “comprehensive” sex education starting from kindergarten.

Gallup shows McCain still at a 5% advantage (48/43). But that would not reflect the reaction to the lipstick business. I would be suprised if McCain does not bust 50% within a week. Three weeks at the outside.

Clinton’s office just released her weekend schedule, which takes her to Akron and Lorain, a critical sliver of northeastern Ohio where Obama has shown weakness and Clinton demonstrated major strength during the primary season.

I am hoping to get some good quotes on stickers from overseas – so we can hand them out – Free . The ones online are so expensive (about $4 each!) and no one seems to be giving out any freebie Anti Obama anything. We have to do it ourselves… I am so sick of seeing bumper stickers touting HIMSELF.

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has put the brakes on ads that were running in seven states carried by the GOP in the 2004 presidential election, FOX News has learned.
Of the seven states — including Alaska, Georgia, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota — Florida and Virginia are considered key battlegrounds this year. Obama’s decision to stop advertising in those states is raising eyebrows.

“Among Democratic women and even among independent women, I don’t think it helped him,” she said.
Told of McCain’s boost in the new ABC/Washington Post among white women following the Palin pick, Fowler said: “Just anecdotally, I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway.”
I think this ‘lipstick’ thing will go away fairly quickly. Any campaign’s effectiveness is in reaching the greatest sudience numbers. And it seems all of MSM is for Obama, even Fox.
Seems like our only line of defense is in boycotting the products of the advertisers on MSM.
If the Republicans are so rich and capable of great influence, they better get started on MSM PDQ.

#172 Alice1943 firstly one of the major problems apparently is granting credit to people who cannot pay it back like with the housing crisis in the USA was a direct result of this. the average american citizen according to world stats has 10 credit cards and they all maxed out…. a solution would be to pass a national credit act like they have in some nations where all industries that lend any sort of money are required to only lend to people that do not have bad debt already and to make sure that they only lending to people who have already paid off the majority of their debts…and make sure that money is not loaned or furniture shops do not give out credit lets say for a big screen t.v. when the person in question does not need the extra t.v and is already in debt. also transparency in goverment budgets since money is wasted palin put the alaskan budget on the internet so that everybody could see exactly where money was going and this would help to expose certain people in the government who are promoting certain interest groups. to the medical insurance problem one of the solutions posed is to train more doctors since one of the problems is that because one doesn’t have that many doctors there is not that much competition in the industry since those people that are there have a monopoly on the industry – if they are not there no one else can do it thats why they can set their prices so high if lets say 100000 doctors were trained a year prices would go down because there would be so many doctors that the industry would become competitive

They were showing this on the news and let me tell you I have never seen so many brand new cars owned by POOR people, Oh and they were beating the hell out of each other to get them. You can not expect people to work when all they have to do is wait in a line and get it for free. I am a democrat, but the entitlements have gotten so out of hand that until somebody can step up to the plate and address this, I fear it will continue to get worse. It’s simply good, hard ,work ethic that we need to be doling out, until then China will continue to own us!

I think his mother got some food stamps after Obama was no longer living with her. She wasn’t impoverished most of the time. His grandparents who raised him and sent him to private school were well off; his grandmother was a bank executive.
Most of his claims seem to be lies.
Although I am a long time independent when it comes to national politics, this incident was clearly meant to be offensive. It is not possible for two people (BO/Biden), who profess to be international diplomacy experts, to expect these remarks be considered innocent.
BO and the crowd both know he is referring to Palin. Proving it through concrete facts is difficult to impossible. However, anyone with ‘worldly’ experience knows the crowds and BO are laughing at Palin.
The fact Legacy Media is trying to quash this discussion to get on “topic” and discuss “issues” demonstrates their understanding of this video too. The BO campaign is in danger and the Media is desperate to save him.
As a side note, I have heard this phrase many times in farm areas and rural locations. It is usually stated in response to a physical object being changed via only superficial means. (i.e. a rusted pickup being given new rims, a termite infested barn get fresh paint on its doors, etc.)
BTW: Be sure to catch BO on Letterman tonight where he attempts to explain this comment further.

The prowl today was a fun one. Instead of copying the lip graphic, I just went ahead and created some lips of my own with my big fat marker. I almost got real creative and was going to leave a little space between the lips uttering something like,” YOU PIG”. But I was a good girl and I didn’t say one thing. My lips are sealed. But I did use every fax number you gave us and faxed all those different numbers of Obama’s – LOL Yes, this wasn’t too difficult and it was fun. I’m just turning into one lively bit!!-lol and getting very devious especially in the wee hours of morn.
