I am a Walmart woman, and I vote

Post title taken from Joan Walsh’s comment today on CNN that Sarah Palin, “looks like a Walmart woman.” Well Joan, excuse us for living. But we’ll be sure to vote on November 4th before we slink back to our cheap houses and stop offending your refined sensibilities with our presence.

Join Riv and the gang from The Confluence on Sheri Tagg’s new Puma blog-radio station Puma United Radio (that’s right, PURrrrrrrrrrr). Listen live HERE at 10pm Eastern.

Gogandalf, with the help of Trish’s Crack Team of Political Researchers, is helping me put together the Puma PAC Slate for Each and Every State to help us all vote Nothing On Top for Obama in November at the same time that we protect the Democratic majority in Congress. Think of it as a one-two punch. We knock out Obama with one, and with the second we maintain our leverage in a Democratic Congress.

DWP, when she’s not making photoshop magic for our amusement and delectation, is busy uploading the ZILLIONS of new links and documents to our lovely ACTION Center. Thanks dwp, you can sleep on Thursday, don’t worry.

FreddieBrown, Asia4Hillary, and Trish are working on making our Puma PAC Party Templates a reality. AND, we are setting up our very first weekend of canvassing in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Virginia this weekend. Please stay tuned.

We DO need funds to keep our momentum. Our budget has always been lean and mean — no salaries, consultants, lobbyists, etc etc — but even the grassiest grass-roots effort needs help. Please consider a donation tonight. You can contribute HERE, and THANK you!

Ok Pumas , I am going to try this one more time before I throw in the towel on this idea to target LOCAL stations in SWING states … These are the local stations all across Pa. – kind of an important state right now . PLEASE take the time to send them an e-mail to either give them links to some hard FACTS they are not reporting on or just to tell them why you aren’t voting for Obama – or whatever you want . This idea doesn’t work if we don’t all do it , so please help me out here . Thanks

Obama: ‘Lipstick on a pig’

Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:

Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin’s new “change” mantra.

“You can put lipstick on a pig,” he said as the crowd cheered. “It’s still a pig.”

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

“We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”

The crowd apparently took the “lipstick” line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: “lipstic

Kelligesq: Lou Dobbs is hosting an Independent Convention all week during his regularly scheduled show. I watched last night and was impressed with his attack on the bias in the media.

His show also featured a piece on voter fraud in Ohio. I posted this last night, but apparently there wasn’t much interest about it on this blog.

ACORN submitted 51,000 new voter registrations to the state of Ohio. State election officials are working to validate them before the election. They have found some fraud, namely with duplicate names with different addresses.

The Dobbs show contacted ACORN, but they refused to comment.

#24 Asian4Hillary on 09.09.08 at 7:15 pm

Haven’t you all notice pictures of NObama posted by CNN, Drudge and other websites look scary? When he was darling of the media, all his pictures look sharp, a real hottie, wallstreet type you want to go out for a date. The pictures they’re using now all over the internet, he look like a thug in a third world country trying to convince people to listen to his bullsheit. Even pictures of Biden look depressing, its like he is talking to his self, the same with NObama.

His campaign donors are holding on to their money, I mean only a fool would donate their hard earn money to NObama, who is about to lose. The news coming out especially his financial problem makes NObama looks bad, real bad. His campaigners use of threats and intimidations including nutjob done by his supporters and paid bloggers is not working anymore; the people become immune to it.

By refusing to accept public funding like McCain, NObama is now force to spend MORE TIME raising money than campaigning while McCain with money from our national treasury is totally freewheeling, campaigning in every state of the Union and not worry about money. McCain and RNC has $300 million at their disposal while NObama and the DNC are twisting arms of their trailblazers to deliver the money!

TOPIC: Air America / Ed Schultz wants to talk to PUMAS!

PUMA’s, today at work I was on the road all day. And I tuned into Ed Schultz’s show. Guess what? He’s in a TIZZY, a total TIZZY, because he’s seen some poll somewhere says that “white women who voted for Hillary Clinton are now voting for McCain!”

He is beside himself trying to understand how that happened. And doing all the usual baloney about Roe v Wade. I tried to call in but didn’t have time to hold & didn’t get through, so I emailed him.

Here is a partial post of what I sent (note I forgot to tell him they can talk about Roe v Wade till their blue in the face, it won’t matter). (Maybe some of you can fill him in on that part, hee hee).

~ ~ ~

Dear Ed,
I was listening to you on the radio today & tried to call in but could not get anyone to answer the phone. I wanted to answer the question you asked several times about “who are these white women who were voting for Hillary Clinton and are now voting for McCain?” None of your viewers knew, but I know a LOT of people in that category. LOTS and LOTS, in fact. LOTS and LOTS and LOTS shall we say it again?

Well I’m a lifelong Democrat and I myself am not planning to vote for McCain at this time. Like many of these women I watched with dismay as America’s best hope for a Democratic President – Hillary Clinton – was bashed on shows like yours, Randi Rhodes and Keith Olbermann’s day after day after day. So first of all, let me just say that millions of women just like me were shocked and disturbed by the amounts of sexist commentary we observed coming from the very public figures we had come to know and trust.

Fast-forward to Hillary “suspending” her campaign. Many women just like me gathered online to discuss what had happened. The more we talked, the more we realized we’d been had. Not only had our Party Leaders – Dean and Pelosi – not stood up for Hillary against the mainstream media demonize-Hillary “Blitz” – but also, we now believe that they knew about the documented cases of Caucus Fraud that the Obama campaign engaged in to narrowly beat Hillary out of the nomination. States like Texas, Ohio, North Carolina and Iowa all have documented cases of Caucus Fraud, Ed. THAT is only ONE reason SO MANY of these women are voting for McCain!

I’m a member of PUMA (PEOPLE UNITED MEANS ACTION). Prior to the convention PUMA contacted all of the delegates, Superdelegates and Party leaders in every state to demand an Open Rollcall. We knew that many delegates were having second thoughts about Obama, and we wanted an honest rollcall not just for the first women candidate in the history of America, but because we knew the race was extremely tight – in spite of the CAUCUS FRAUD, Ed, and in spite of the fact Obama outspent Hillary Clinton by 3 to 1 in many states. (That right there should have been a Big Clue to the DNC which candidate of the 2 was actually more electable).

Still, they carried on with their plan. And they did not listen to these thousands and thousands of women and men who wanted an honest & open rollcall. Instead, they allowed the Obama camp to intimidate the delegates into voting for Obama – even if their constituencies voted for Hillary Clinton!

PUMA’s, including me, journeyed to Denver to watch a historical campaign unfold, what we got instead of an Open Rollcall was a travesty of justice in which the most qualified candidate was made to take a back seat to a lesser qualified and sexist candidate, Obama.

Ed, these are only SOME of the reasons all these women are voting for McCain! Ed, “even if” we could overlook the gender bias, the racist pastor(s), the shady Chicago ties and Rezko, the vote for FISA for crying out loud (Hillary did not vote for FISA), there is NO WAY, NO HOW, we will vote for a candidate who engaged in Caucus Fraud to win the nomination.

I’m pretty sure (if you are courteous) the head of PUMA, Darragh Murphy, might be willing to refer you to any number of women now voting McCain.

Obama Says McCain Is Offering Fake Change: ‘You Can Put Lipstick on a Pig, But It’s Still a Pig’
September 09, 2008 6:10 PM

LEBANON, Va. — “That’s not change,” Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering.

“You know, you can put lipstick on a pig,” Obama said, “but it’s still a pig.”

The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.”

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called ‘change,’” Obama continued, “it’s still gonna stink after eight years.

“We’ve had enough of the same old thing! It’s time to bring about real change to Washington. And that’s the choice you’ve got in this election.”

Obama added that “it is not going to be easy … John McCain has a compelling biography, you know Sarah Palin is an interesting story.”

The crowd booed.

“No, she’s new!” Obama said. “She hasn’t been on the scene, you know, she’s got five kids and my hat goes off to anybody who’s looking after five. I’ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out!”

– Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller

UPDATE: Obama senior adviser Robert Gibbs insists the senator was not referring to Palin. “That’s an old expression,” Gibbs says.

LILIBET – excellent letter on the last thread – still trying to find out which States BO has pulled his ads – I know Georgia and North Carolina – have seen nothing in Utah and Arizona – anyone have a clue – want to start a listing

on 09.09.08 at 6:06 pm Wow – did not know that would have to go through so much training to be a poll worker/observer – now you can call me eagle eyes – no one will get past me -

My little town has all drank the kool aide – except one new business – restaurant that just opened up – on the front of their door – they say no service – if you do not wear shoes – do not wear a shirt – or an Obama supporter – they will get all my business now LOL

——————————————————————-
Can anyone tell me for my list – besides Georgia and North Carolina has Obama pulled his ads because he feels he will not win there – I would assume he is not advertising in Arizona and Utah – Colorado and New Mexico are really close – those will be the areas that I will not send letters to the editors -

I got this in an e-mail that’s circulating – seems like a good description of Obama as a community organizer:

“I have noticed a glaring lack of understanding regarding the role of the modern day “community organizer”. After extensive research and analysis, I have found the definitive answer, which I now share in the interest of political harmony and good will.

Community organizers haven’t changed much since the days when “communities” were referred to as “villages”. The biggest change has been to apply the politically correct standards of today to the more descriptive functional terminology of years past so as not to denigrate the self esteem of those who served that role. While today’s community organizer is no different than yesterday’s village idiot, our kinder and gentler society precludes the use of the “i” word in polite discourse.

In modern society, there is a place for everyone. And just as no village was complete without its own idiot, no community these days can claim to be truly inclusive without its designated organizer.

I trust this clears things up a bit. “

SWING STATES

A top pollster recently said that OHIO might be the deciding state in Nov… But Rasmussen, on Hannity & Colmes last night, said that VA may be the OH of this election.

I think that the most crucial states (to put our energies into) are OHIO and then PA, Mich and FLand maybe also VA and CO because of their unusual drift to blue (BO!) lately.

*** According to the SF Chronicle (9-7-08), this year’s battleground states; the ones that will be the focus of the presidential campaign (for both Dems & Reps), are:
OH, PA, MI, FL, VA, CO, WI, MO, IN, OR, NM, NV, NC, MT, ND, SD, NH (the first 4 or 5 are the most crucial!)

>remember:
We’re brainstorming & gathering ideas on ways to defeat BO in key SWING STATES (& everywhere, for that matter!)

Clinton delegate: ‘Uncle Tom’ is what Senate president said

Posted by Rick Pearson at 5:07 p.m.

DENVER—An African-American woman who is an Illinois delegate for Sen. Hillary Clinton maintained Monday that Senate President Emil Jones, a mentor of Sen. Barack Obama, called her an “Uncle Tom” at the Illinois hotel for the Democratic National Convention.

Earlier today, Jones, a veteran African-American legislator who is resigning at the end of his term in January, denied using the racial slur and said he referred to Clinton delegate Delmarie Cobb as among the “Doubting Thomases” who should embrace Obama’s candidacy as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

“Clearly that’s not what he said,” Cobb said, adding that Jones shouted the slur to her across the lobby of the Marriott hotel the delegation is staying at on Saturday night.

“When I went back to him and asked what he said—I said, ‘Excuse me, what did you say?’—he grabbed me by the shoulders and laughed,” she said. “He didn’t say anything. I asked, ‘Did you call me an Uncle Tom?’ He never said anything. At that point, I proceeded to call him a few things. Then I walked away.”

Cobb said the comments from Jones reflect the pressures that have been placed on African-American women who backed Clinton’s candidacy against Obama in the extended Democratic primary season.

“There’s this feeling out here that we’ve somehow betrayed the race,” Cobb said. “The attitude (from Obama supporters) is that they’re going to beat you into submission and make you admit you were wrong for supporting Hillary.”

Cobb said that in 1988 she evaluated which candidate had the best record for advancing the causes of African Americans and supported the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

“I used the same litmus test and this time it happened to be Hillary Clinton. I feel confidant and have no shame whatsoever. It’s not like she was an insignificant candidate,” Cobb said.

Cobb, who intends to cast her nominating vote for Clinton, said a representative of Obama’s campaign has contacted her and wants to talk.

“When the question of why Hillary Clinton supporters aren’t coming over (to Obama) and jumping up to joy comes up, this is not an isolated incident. This has been going on for months now. Now, here we are. Be gracious in victory.”

Weatherman, known colloquially as the Weathermen and later the Weather Underground Organization, was an American radical left organization founded in 1969 by leaders and members who split from the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). The group organized a riot in Chicago in 1969 and bombed buildings in the 1970s.

OBAMA ON THE WAR

Just heard an interesting sound bite on NPR. Obama was talking about how Bush is just “tinkering around the edges” regarding troup withdrawal and “kicking the can down the road” for the next President to inherit. However, when BO started campaigning and touting troup withdrawal, etc, there was never any presumption that Bush would have started any significant withdrawal on his own. It was abundantly clear that the next President would inherit the mess in Iraq. But, me thinks Obama is now trying to position himself so that if he’s elected he’s set it up so that he can squirm his way out out out of his promise to withdraw our troops.

(new REVISED version… *UPDATED* w/latest suggestions)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
WAYS & STRATEGIES TO DEFEAT BO IN NOV.

>> * Points to consider:

– This is a close election, esp. in the critical swing states!
– If BO wins, Hillary’s future presidential hopes likely END.
A big BO loss will shake awake the DNC, forcing reform… AND will allow Hillary to run & win in 2012!
– A lot of the focus should now be on the crucial battleground SWING STATES that will decide this election!!!
– We have less than 2 months left!

———————
** POSSIBLE TACTICS & ACTION STEPS: **

• Make phone calls… organize phone-banks. –>* Talk to others –> * Canvass door-to-door. –->* Give talks to groups. –-> ** Organize Anti-BO parties or ‘get-togethers’ (to educate) –> * Help people who are voting against BO get to the polls (on Nov 4) or to get their absentee ballots in on time. –> * Volunteer to poll-watch (on 11-4)

• Distribute flyers, brochures, info-handouts, etc –> * Put up flyers/posters all over (esp. where they’ll do most good). –> * Also: bumper stickers, buttons, yard signs, etc (“Stop Obama Express”, “Dems for Mac”, etc) w/web addresses on them of PUMA/JSND/Anti-BO sites.

• Write Letters to the Editor & put ads in major newspapers and in local ‘free’ papers & mags. –> * Spread Viral Emails. –> * Forward persuasive articles & links. –> * Blog and post comments & links in all good Websites (like news-sites) that reach many people (Let’s list their addresses here!). –-> * Vote on polls –> * Start your own Blog or website or submit articles to existing ones

• Contact local & national media (TV, radio, newspapers) to encourage coverage of whatever can help our cause (esp contact those pundits & reporters NOT in the tank for BO) …pass along any good anti-BO, pro-PUMA info or news for them to report… –> * Talk to the press; — Give TV & radio interviews, etc (like Murphy & Will do). –> * Enlighten others about BO and our cause through any & all effective means & channels!

• Let’s find ways to reach out to key voting blocs that can make a big difference in Nov., such as Latinos, Seniors, young people, HRC-voters, etc… -> * Possible means to reach these groups: — Latino & Senior Centers (put/drop flyers, give talks), — publications geared to these groups (put ads, articles, Letters to Editors), — Hispanic radio & TV stations (ads, send newsworthy items), — Hispanic food markets (flyers), — College campuses (flyers, give talks, etc).

• Many here agree that the most effective ‘protest’-vote to defeat BO (esp. in swing states) is voting Mac/Palin (though ALL non-BO votes help!). –> * Inform others RE: effective options & to consider how close the race is in their state… and that writing-in Hillary is NOT advisable in some states, (etc.)

• If you’re voting Mac/Palin, and are enthused enough for them, DO campaign for them; Sign up at their Website to volunteer… & DONATE !!! (they need $$$ to produce those great anti-BO ads, etc)… Help put BO well behind his opponent!!!

• DONATE to (& get active in) PUMApac… –> * and also DONATE to (& help out) any effective group (such as 527s) working to defeat BO through TV, radio & newspaper ADS, etc (and any JSND group working to defeat BO).

• Let’s compile a running LIST of “Reasons Why You Should NOT Vote For BO”, not only for use in flyers & handouts and to help us present our case talking to others, etc, but also for anyone to copy portions and email off (to friends, to undecided Dems, among key groups [translated to Spanish for Hispanics], AND for use in “Viral Emails”, etc)

• Visualize lots of RED in the electorate map on Nov. 4… esp. see the critical swing states go red! – Visualize the Mac/Palin win; the cheers, the confetti, etc. – *Then* *SEE* *2012*: Hillary elected president; thanking the cheering crowd, etc.

__________________________________________

>> PLEASE CONTINUE SUBMITTING YOUR THOUGHTS, OTHER IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS AND SPECIFIC *STEPS*.

** I periodically update, revise and re-post this list… So keep the suggestions coming!
** I’ll also compile more detailed lists for some of the strategies, with specific actions steps.

Obama was indeed referring to Palin and was going for the reaction he got.

He says, “you can put lipstock on a pig”, and then takes a long pause to let it sink in with the crowd, When the crowd starts laughing, he drives the point home, “but it’s still a pig”.

No way was this innocent or intended as other than a reference to Palin.

#138 Anna7000 on 09.09.08 at 8:32 pm

LandiPUMA – Though this isn’t a direct way to defeat BO, why not add “be a poll worker” to your list, since that will help us keep our eyes on the process. Let’s not get burned again as we did in caucus states and at the convention.

:idea: SUGGESTIONS for working with the “WAYS TO DEFEAT BO” ACTION LIST.
(see my post #136 “Ways & Strategies To Defeat BO” above)

:arrow: Take 3 or 4 of the strategies to defeat BO and see how you can develop them and apply them to a swing state.

:arrow: See which strategies appeal to you most and seem most ‘doable’ for you. Then pick one or two and put it into action as soon as you can. Then report here on your progress or experience with the strategy. Then try on another strategy, etc.

– Any other suggestions on how to work with the Action List?

The next part of the pig comment was “you can take an old piece of fish and wrap it in paper and call it change, it is still going to stink” So, a pig and stinky fish….sounds about right for a women hater.

Sarah used the joke, the difference between hockey moms and pit bulls is lipstick.

It went over so well that what the Obama/Biden duel is doing is xeroxing her joke, how utterly boring and mundane are these two characters. We should change their names to Coco and Wally the nut brothers
Obama said, “You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.”
Biden said, “There’s no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick.”

I think I have that one in the first set of items (toward the top)… Isn’t “Volunteer to poll-watch on 11-4″ the same as “Be a poll worker”? Should I word it differently?

#172 Anna7000 on 09.09.08 at 8:55 pm

LandiPUMA – Just scrolled up to see your original post. Yeah, I think there’s too much different stuff in that first paragraph. The rest is so clear, the way you start with the main idea and then elaborate. But the first is bunch up with stuff that I think needs teasing apart. Overall, I’d think about having the first few words of each bullet be the direct suggestion, followed by whatever details you want to provide. The logic will remain consisent and it will be easy to pull out the directions for anyone who doesn’t want to read any of the details.

THAT is truly despicable.

My 22 and 25 year old daughters view me as “protective” in a loving way. They joke that I am just like the DiNiro character in “Meet the Parents”. However, if some guy made a reference like that to one of my daughters, I would not take it lightly. And if I was within earshot of someone making that comment about any woman, I would not be silent, that’s for damn sure.

Obama and Biden are not only misognists, they’re hypocties as well. Hell, I would lay a bet that they both do know what it’s like to wear lipstick.

Even if for a minute I believe what comes of the Middle East / North Africa is true man this is just proof how the precious is loosing campaign money from the world fans. This video clip clearly puts BO as a non-Christian (consistent with this gaffe that he got away with).
On a lighter side, I would ask if he has a ham sandwich at all and if so the gaffe would prove true. I am kind of nasty now due the pig analogy and I now give him ham.
Mad Money guy Jim Cramer says in Wall Street “pigs get slaugthered” and I can agree with him in the this that in the Main Street and GE BO is going to get slaughtered. Ok, I thought I made my point and I go back to my lurk mode.
To Bots – Keep it coming, fools! The more the merrier for the other side.
PUMA – This You tube is birth certificate enough to pit against remaining kool-aid drinkers to flee to higher grounds and BO and JOE (the man in hiding even before becoming VP) are sinking from the quicksand high ground that they mistakenly promised.

A Democratic machine in Chicago? Don’t be naive
John Kass

4:40 PM CDT, September 6, 2008

ST. PAUL — A Tribune news bulletin of great importance flashed on my electronic slave collar (elitists would call it a BlackBerry) at the Republican National Convention:

There is no Chicago Democratic machine. Mayor Richard Daley says so.

If this is indeed true, and no sane man would ever doubt the mayor, then I might as well kill the stupid idea of writing a Barack O’Bama column.

“I don’t know where they get this, I mean, this idea that there is a big Democratic machine going on,” the mayor told reporters last week.

And he didn’t mean there was a little Democratic machine, either. Machine? What machine?

He was not purple with rage, hair askew, so he was not in his Mayor Chucky persona. And he was not haughtily invoking his Richard the Shortshanks persona, drawing upon his right as firstborn son of our great, late King Richard the Not-so-Longshanks.

Rather, the current mayor was applying reason. When Republicans dared suggest that Obama was not a mythic reformer riding on a unicorn named Change, but actually some sort of silky creature of the Daley machine (which does not exist), those foolish Republicans were so very wrong.

Daley does not want reporters from the Washington Beltway media establishment to get some stupid idea in their heads. That could ruin things, especially with the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin ready to play the political reform/machine card on Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Rezko).

The reporters might put on tinfoil hats to shield them from the channeling of Daley/Obama strategist David Axelrod, and such newfound clarity might cause the journalists to wonder, horrified, whether Obama’s gentle unicorn is actually named Cosmo and draws a paycheck from the Department of Streets and Sanitation.

Even though Obama probably has this election won—he leads in the critical Electoral College states of Michigan and Pennsylvania—things could change if the media doesn’t behave. It’s much better for Obama if reporters focus on whether Palin, the governor of Alaska, was truly evil for trying to fire her former brother-in-law, the cop who allegedly Tasered his own 11-year-old stepson.

The Taser story, which will most likely end up on Jerry Springer or Maury Povich, will first be developed by responsible journalists, perhaps with the following headline:

“Palin Nephew: Don’t Tase Me, Daddy!”

In the meantime, I know who started this Chicago machine nonsense. The blame belongs to a former federal prosecutor from New York who went after the New York mob and later became that city’s mayor: Rudolph Giuliani.

Giuliani gave a little talk before Palin walked out on the convention stage last week, when she became a media star even though she hates the media. Americans forgot Giuliani’s words of wisdom. He told several jokes about Obama, like a stand-up comic, before making the big machine reference.

“He [Obama] immersed himself in Chicago machine politics. Then he ran for the state legislature—where nearly 130 times he was unable to make a decision, yes or no,” Giuliani mocked. “He simply voted ‘present.’ As mayor of New York City, I never got a chance to vote ‘present.’ And you know, when you’re president of the United States, you can’t just vote ‘present.’ You must make decisions.”

And all the Republicans laughed and laughed, as if they know about decision-making The Chicago Way. How naive can they be?

When Obama is president and the red phone rings at 3 a.m. and Cosmo says that the Russians have put planes in the air, don’t worry about it. He’ll make a decision. He’ll call White House chief of staff Bill Daley. Bill will call Rich. And Rich will call the boss of all the brothers, Michael Daley, the city’s top zoning lawyer who’ll be running the Justice Department, and a decision will be made. So don’t worry.

“I couldn’t understand. In 1979, I think I ran for state’s attorney as an independent,” Daley told reporters in Chicago. “I don’t know where we get this, I mean, this idea that there is a big machine going on. Chicago and the metropolitan area is very Democratic and the state is. There’s no, this machine, again. I thought it was laughable.”

By Daley’s reasoning, Obama’s first machine patron, state Sen. President Emil Jones (D-ComEd) wasn’t part of the machine either, even though for years Jones was double-dipping as a city sewer inspector. According to legend, Jones inspected sewers while wearing a luxurious camel’s hair coat and alligator shoes and never got a speck of dirt on his finery.

And all the Daley political hacks in federal prison now, convicted of illegally rigging city jobs to build a giant army of political workers who had to get out the vote to get promotions, they’re probably just dreaming. They’re not really in prison. They’re just having a nightmare. They’ll wake up on Nov. 5.

There is no machine. Get it? It’s laughable.

But, I had to take my hat off to you publically. And, add, that while all such comments are horrid no matter who speaks them, it’s unfortunate that Palin herself used a dog analogy at all, as far as I’m concerned. It might have seemed witty and all, but women have been referred to as dogs for many years and I found it regretable that she chose to use it as part of her way of communicating that she’s tough. Now, I’m back to lurking, scavenging ideas, and contributing concrete stuff……

#218 lilibet on 09.09.08 at 9:28 pm

This from the PRARIE PUNDIT AUGUST 20

FOX NEWS

OBAMA PULLING ADS IN RED STATES

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has put the brakes on ads that were running in seven states carried by the GOP in the 2004 presidential election, FOX News has learned.

Of the seven states — including Alaska, Georgia, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota — Florida and Virginia are considered key battlegrounds this year. Obama’s decision to stop advertising in those states is raising eyebrows.

Aides to Obama told FOX News that the changes are related to the convention next week but they wouldn’t discuss the specifics of their ad strategy.

When Obama’s campaign took over the Democratic Party earlier this year, it embraced Howard Dean’s 50-state strategy, which is aimed at courting Democrats nationwide. The strategy has generated controversy, though, because many Democrats say it wastes money in states where they have no chance of winning.

Even with his prodigious fund raising, Obama can’t really afford a 57 state strategy or even a 50 state one. It is also recognition that he is not effecting “change” in the voting patterns in those states. It probably is also in recognition that his totals are eroding in some blue states and he may need everything he has to hold on.

#219 LotusBoy on 09.09.08 at 9:29 pm

Well that is it, no woman should cast a vote for this man “lipstick on a pig” and “stink fish”. I don’t want to hear one word from Hillary or anyone else about Obama, after that line nothing anyone says can make me vote for that sicko, he has a serious problem with women he needs some kind of therapy and quick.

Obama pulling out of red states
posted at 9:00 am on August 23, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
Send to a Friend | printer-friendly

Barack Obama bragged that he would compete for votes in all 50 states against John McCain, and his fundraising numbers certainly gave the impression that he had the resources to do it. Yesterday, though, Obama’s campaign abruptly suspended their advertising in several red states, including Georgia, which Team Obama had specifically spotlighted earlier as a possible takeaway:

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has put the brakes on ads that were running in seven states carried by the GOP in the 2004 presidential election, FOX News has learned.

Of the seven states — including Alaska, Georgia, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota — Florida and Virginia are considered key battlegrounds this year. Obama’s decision to stop advertising in those states is raising eyebrows.

Aides to Obama told FOX News that the changes are related to the convention next week. They wouldn’t discuss the specifics of their ad strategy, but the Obama campaign insists that it has not pulled out of those states permanently, calling this a temporary suspension.

When Obama’s campaign took over the Democratic Party earlier this year, it embraced Howard Dean’s 50-state strategy, which is aimed at courting Democrats nationwide. The strategy has generated controversy, though, because many Democrats say it wastes money in states where they have no chance of winning.

The timing of the convention sounds like a convenient excuse. If anything, that would be the time to push advertising in marginal states, just to keep John McCain’s team off balance. They need all the exposure they can get to achieve a decent post-convention bounce and to halt the summer-long slide in Obama’s support.

Instead, this looks like a combination of financial and polling reality. Obama had hoped to make serious gains in red states by the time the conventions started, making further investments attractive. However, Obama has lost ground in these states despite spending millions in television spots, just as he has lost ground nationwide.

Obama also has a fundraising problem, which seems counterintuitive for a campaign that had two $50 million months in a row. Unfortunately, they’re burning through their cash a lot faster than McCain, and with a lot less impact. Also, the RNC is outraising the DNC at such a rate that it’s wiped out the Team Obama advantage, and now Obama has to work fundraisers instead of focusing entirely on his campaign. He can’t afford to blow cash now on efforts with no payoff.

Bill Clinton did not pardon Ayers and Dohrn. He commuted the sentences of two former Weather Underground members in Jan 2001.

Linda Sue Evans served 16 years, but her sentence was commuted by President Bill Clinton.

Susan Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years in prison. -President Bill Clinton commuted her sentence, freeing her, in an action widely covered at the time as a pardon.

No, I am not going to give credit to men here since they are always known to do the same thing over and over (but this is the right thing to do more so this election).
I heard and read men are more for the other side of the ticket (I am not saying the names but for the uninitiated it is the REPUBS) so guys go out and golf or watch your game (NFL, whatever) and don’t switch until Nov 4th .
Woe, proud to be a man. Now I can go an watch my Mavericks in Dallas train cause the other mavericks are at it. And this Cowboy is not averse to wearing lipstick either!

Obama is going to say this was innocent. BS!

He knew exactly the message he was sending. And with Biden’s lipstick remark today as well, this sure as hell looks like it was coordinated.

And if you are unsure as to whether this was a coordinated effort on the part of the Obama campaign against Palin, take a look at Bob Beckel’s comment yesterday on Fox:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chyoSHnSHGg

Beckel – lipstick on a rottweiler, er. a pitbull, or a pig for that matter…

He slips it in at the end of his comment about mid way through the video.

I think NObama now is crying and calling Bill & Hillary to help him, he’s tanking bad on state by state polls. McCain is +7 in Ohio, North Carolina McCain is +20. In Washington state, NObama lead is now down to +4, it was +7 two weeks ago.

I think his supporters are now checking state by state polls, making an important decision, should they send their money to NObama or spend it in Starbucks and drown their sorrow in Latte. Next we hear, his paid bloggers all over the internet are not paid!

What ill wind has cast this desease of Barack Obama upon us?

My very angry 22 year old niece called me to apologize for arguing with me last month about NObama. She heard about the lipstick and the fish.

Tomorrow she and I will go with my neighbor to sign up at the republican campaign office and we’ll work our butts off campaigning for McCain and Palin.

This is an insult to women and only the stupid and naive believe their excuses and attempts at explanation.

#271 Headclunker on 09.09.08 at 9:57 pm

I got a really disgusting letter from the BO campaign crying about lies and asking for donations.

His entire campaign has become disgusting and sorry and he is showing signs of desperation with comments about lipstick on pigs.

I got a letter from the Florida Women for Obama. I replied that I was a PUMA Democrat and this is what they replied:

Please consider that you are dishonoring Hillary Clinton’s legacy by supporting John McCain explicitly or implicitly. Please look at the attached comparison between Obama and McCain on women’s issues and consider what you will be doing to women in this country, and future generations of women. Everything Clinton worked for and stood for, from children’s health care to women’s reproductive rights will be destroyed. Are you prepared to cause this just because your candidate wasn’t nominated? I’m sure you are a wiser and bigger person than to do something like that.

And this is what I told her:

I prefer the Democratic Platforms and would like to elect Democrats to office. However, the inconsistent rules that have been in play this Presidential Primary have given me some doubts about what is going on in the Party. This is a critical election and I have made it a point to be an informed voter.

Obama has displayed nothing but contempt and disrespect for Florida Voters, for women voters and for Hillary Clinton. Obama’s position is whatever suites his needs at the moment. First it was Clinton’s and now it is looking more and more like McCain’s. He cannot be trusted. Look at FISA. How many votes did he get for a position he turned around and sold out?

How many complaints did the DNC get about the Obama Campaign for caucus fraud? What did they do about it? Obama poured tens of thousands of dollars per month into the media that poured misogyny all over Clinton, and what did Obama or the DNC do about it? Obama took a free ride on sexism and cried about racism. Look how the RNC defends Palin! SHAME ON THE DNC!

And agitating African Americans to gain black votes before he threw them under the bus! Get it, vote for him and go under the bus as it suites him. Obama is an Uncle Tom for the DNC Chapter of the Good ‘ol Boys.

He talks about his Law School but will not release his undergraduate transcripts. He did not graduate there with any honors. Then compares it to McCains undergraduate record. Deceit!

He lied about his religious upbringing. Why? He attended school as a registered Muslim and attended a mosque. Then he tried to lie about his relationship with Reverend Wright. And with other leftist extremists and worse.

Obama is an unqualified, corrupt empty suit, just like George W. Bush was for the Republicans. He is a total disgrace.

My PUMA group had people at the DNC to observe how the Presidential Nomination Roll Call Vote was conducted. The DNC and the Obama campaign had been informed that they would not get our votes unless they supported a totally fair and democratic roll call vote. What we were told is that it was Obama’s convention and he would conduct the roll call as he saw fit. And it was just more disgraceful, anti-democratic behavior with secret ballots, tallies and subsequent delegate intimidation. Obama made his choice about the votes of Clinton Supporters. I will do what ever I can to keep this fascist from being the President of the United States.

Now, we would like to see those ballots. The original ballots as well as the final vote registered for each delegate. Do you think we will ever see that information?

I am planning to vote for whatever other Democratic Candidates are on the ballot who did not participate in perpetrating the Obama fraud on the Party and the American People. Do not ask me to vote Obama. I am an American, first.

McPalin rattles Team Obama
The Democratic ticket finds itself trapped by a McCain-Palin double-team.
Jonah Goldberg
September 9, 2008

Barack Obama, a famous fan of pickup basketball, must recognize his plight: It’s two on one now. John McCain drafted Gov. Sarah Palin, the star point guard from the Wasilla Warriors, to double-team Obama.

(McCain’s team doesn’t care if no one covers Joe Biden, who seems to spend most of his time yelling to the media, “I’m open! I’m open!” But when he gets the ball, all he does is talk about what a great player he is and dribble in place.)

So after the halftime show of the political conventions, to strain the sports metaphor a bit further, it looks as if the change-up in strategy has Team Obama rattled and in danger of choking. Polls — the closest thing we have to a scoreboard — show that McCain, at least temporarily, has taken the lead. The Real Clear Politics average of national polls since Friday shows McCain ahead by a razor-thin (and statistically meaningless) 2.9 percentage points. The USA Today-Gallup poll has McCain leading by a whopping 10 points among likely voters (and four points among registered voters), though that’s almost surely an overstatement.

The McCain-Palin convention bounce also all but closed the ticket’s gender gap. According to Rasmussen, Obama had a 14-point lead among women; now it’s three. According to the latest ABC/Washington Post poll, McCain now has a 12-point lead among white women.

Still, there’s a lot of pressure on Sarah Barracuda. Called up from the political minors, she could yet wilt under the hot lights. But that’s looking less and less likely.

The outrageous attacks on Palin out of the block (She banned books! She opposed family planning education! She’s a creationist!) have missed the mark. And the eagerness of the mainstream media to go after her family life has backfired as well. For instance, the Washington Post’s Hanna Rosin wrote sneeringly in Slate magazine of Palin’s “wreck of a home life.” Would Slate say that Obama, conceived out of wedlock to a teen mom, comes from a “wreck” of a family? I somehow doubt it.

#270 bruce55555 – Great news about your 22 year old niece. Perhaps the best thing she can do (and do remind her “This election is about her, not about him) is to go to willing listeners her age and reason out without the presence of blog world, media etc as to what they think would be best for them. Even if they do this for a minute to think about issues and all that they would see better hope in the person they did not support at the beginning. Also reason out that like Wall Street choosing candidates is not a backward looking mechanism when there is still so much ahead. Just as good BO supporters like Warren Buffett would buy stocks on the cheap based on future prospects, your niece and tons of people her age can believe that the other alternative would not be as bad as they were misled by the bots and finally tell them that even if it goes awry HRC 2012 will be their true messiah

NEED HELP

I need some guidance in organizing all the email addresses to Editors, etc.

My problem is that I read a post requesting an email be sent, then I read the next post. Etc. and the next and then lose track of the post with the instructions for emailing. I seem to be spending too much time rereading/searching for the posts with the emails on them.

Don’t know if anyone has suggested this, but we need to consider a lipstick prowl. Maybe we can send Obooboo and Biden some to along with their flip flops (remember that one !)

All I know is that I will be hauling my ass to office tomorrow morning as I always do wearing my pantsuit and the brightest lipstick I have.

Just my two cents- I definitely think the lipstick on a pig is a reference to Palin…..it’s an old line —too old to be a natural in bo’s lexicon. Also, what’s with the gray hair? Is he afraid he has been looking too young and experienced so no more Grecian Forumula 44?

Also, Anna7000rocks with her coments and spends so much time helping others edit their remarks. A big shout out to her for that. good nite all.

#319 hillstheone on 09.09.08 at 10:26 pm

hillfan4mccain, “woot-woot!!”

MURPHY, you best put this on your list of things to do:

“Decide how to break it to the news media that many of my PUMA followers are breaking ranks with the Democratic Party and crossing over for McCain.”

Murphy, judging from my own experience today (even tho I didn’t get on the air), I think that you can stay super calm (even more than usual!) through all of the upcoming media requests because you aren’t voting for McCain yourself.

That allows you to remain very cool & collected and just report the facts. That will drive them all Stirrr Crrrazy, BBBBWWWWWWaaaaaaaaahahahaha!!!!!

On the BO wreck, the movie Forever Young comes to mind. Mel comes out the Cryo box and ages quickly enough. When this is all said and done, BO will perhaps develop wrinkles and the bots will stop insulting the senior citizens.

Asian4Hillary,
“I think NObama now is crying and calling Bill & Hillary to help him, he’s tanking bad on state by state polls.”
Totally!

But, Asian4Hillary, have we heard anything about O’s meeting w/Bill today? And also, a while back you mentioned a possible lawsuit against the DNC. That idea holds some appeal for me (no pun intended, haha), however, I think it best to put it on-hold until after Nov.4th & bring it up again then. Just a thought.

BBL, my teenager pumas need me right now…

hey everyone :)

miss you guys :(

thought i’d come in and share something a friend told me today.

we were discussing *61′s obvious reference to Sarah Palin (the pig comment) and she said:

“Read my lipstick! McCain/Palin 2008″

haha, i loved it so i thought i’d share it with my pumas :)

i know we’re not promoting who to vote for, but those of you who are going to vote for McCain (for whatever reason you choose) wouldn’t this be a great shirt slogan? ;)

This idea doesn’t work if we don’t all do it , so please help me out here . Thanks

That lipstick-pig stuff has convinced me that Obama has lost it over Palin because he is a woman hater. I wonder how the GOP new? I always believed it but now I think I underestimated how much he hates women.

#346 azpuma on 09.09.08 at 10:36 pm

I just need to share. A co-worker/Obot told me today that because I wasn’t planning on voting for BO I was misinformed, confused and I shouldn’t bother to vote.

Oh and let me add that this Obots stated reason for not liking Sarah Palin is that she has guns. When I pointed out that Sarah Palin hunts she was sort of at a loss on how to respond.

I’m really getting sick of the Obots who think unless you are on the O train and falling into line, you should just stand back, not vote and let them have control…..reminds me of what happens in a cult.

I think that we shouldn’t let Obuma get off the hook so easily with this blunder. We should flood the MSM with e-mails with sentiments of outrage by this blatant comment. The DONC will try to downplay this and hope that it will go away, but I think it is imperative that we hit them now while the fire is still flaming, what do you pumas think?

#353 erickaAZ on 09.09.08 at 10:39 pm

#366 Sisterluck on 09.09.08 at 10:43 pm

Well, bozo has lost his damn mind now. He calls Palin a pig and McCain an old fish. He has his minions and “lawyers” in AK digging up anything they can distort on Palin’s family or record. The bots are everywhere talking about Palin’s former pastor church and her lack of experience.

Let’s see……bozo……..you further piss off women by your pig comment then you have your thugs attacking Palin’s family namely her down syndrome child, and now do you really want to start rehashing conversations about “former” pastors and lack of experience? DO YOU???

Bozo compares himself to Palin constantly. Did McCain disappear in this race? I’ve never seen a Presidential candidate spend so much time attacking a VP before.

Bozo……..you have gone beyond desperation into the pit of despair. You are sooooooooo over. Buh bye.

I forwarded your post to my niece, will ask her opinion on what you’re saying because as for myself, I’m not sure exactly what you’re trying to say.

She’s not into blogging or tv, she attends law school and works part time, no time for anything else.
She heard about those comments, verified them, and then called me.
Since we had an argument last month she’s been thinking about what I said and has been paying more attention, also watched both primaries, saw right through Obama’s arrogance and megalomania.

#373 TrishfromCanada ok you know I like ya so don’t get mad at me, but i never heard anything about Hillary supporters saying that so it must not have been to loud cuz we all know the media went have went nuts over that. I think it’s wrong they said that to her I agree there but they were not on the stump in front of a huge crowd with tv camera’s all around them and saying it. Plus put that with what he has said in the past about Hillary that is why everyone is mad, remember the giving her the middle finger then playing it off like he was scratching his face. He played 99 problems but the bitch ain’t one. I could go on and on so this is just one more thing he has done against a woman.

#397 bruce55555 on 09.09.08 at 10:56 pm

373 TrishfromCanada

Huge difference, I don’t think anyone called or even referred to Brazille as a pig.

Brazille was one of the masterminds behind the Hillary drowning.

Brazille is a woman and so is Hillary.

Not only did Brazille not come to Hillary’s defense or hand her a lifesaver, she was one of those that pushed her in the ocean.

Sarah Palin? Also a woman who made reference last week to using lipstick.

HAHAHA. Exactly.

I think bozo has flipped out due to a combination of issues regarding Palin. He can’t compare to McCain’s record or military service or life story. He’s more upset about the Palin phenomenon flooding the nation. He’s angry, bitter, and jealous that this “small town, non-ivy league grad, wal-mart going, WOMAN” has taken his “celebrity” spotlight from him and called him out for the bs fraud he is. He’s livid and guess what…….he’s going to keep losing it and saying all kinds of crap that is going to further tank him. As TO of my Dallas Cowboys would say….”Getcha popcorn ready!”

#375 bruce55555 – When I re-read my posts my head spins a little. From your response, I think she has already made an rational decision. I took her to be an average person supporting BO – one that would keep their emotion and personal reasoning to hold fort for him no matter what. I have a lot of young folks here and abroad that think he is ok no matter what given the 8 years and war and all that. Sometimes at a younger age, it is a fancy to go after a celebrity or a new IPOD or something.
If you seek clarification on Warren Buffett, Wall Street, forward looking and all that I can certain line the dots if required but here is my arguement on the Warren Buffett – he buys stocks when it is beaten down. Republican party was beaten down and hence I considered it akin to a beaten down stock. There is no way for the stock but to go up once key changes are made and this is what happened in the Repub primary. McCain emerged when not too many expected him to. The ticket in my opinion (like a stock) is still undervalued and has a lot of room upward. When I say forward looking – it means people will buy (vote) the ticket based on the 2 on the ticket (rather than the 8 years and so on – which I meant to be backward thinking).

POLL FOR COLORADO

September 08, 2008

John McCain gained a little ground nationally during the convention season this year, but in the state that hosted the Democratic National Convention Barack Obama inched ahead. The latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Colorado shows Obama attracting 49% of the vote while McCain earns 46% (Demographic crosstabs are available for Premium Members.)

Last month, it was McCain with a statistically insignificant lead in this critical swing state. Obama had not trailed in any of the six previous monthly polls conducted this election season in Colorado.

RE: the WAYS TO DEFEAT BO action list:

Hi Anna7000-

I was out for a while. Later tonight I’ll more carefully read & think about your suggestions and version of the list.

But yes… some of the items should be separated and “fleshed out”…

I thought before that it would be best to have this “Master List” touching on the various ‘action items’ not get too long and detailed… but then create separate lists with some of the items listed with more details given for each. The big “master list” would just briefly mention ALL the different action-items.

It would be great if this “Ways to Defeat BO” project had its own website or page (liked to PUMApac), with the “master list” on one page… and you could click on each category of items on the list and be taken to separate pages where each group of items is explained in more details (with suggestions on how they can be put into action, etc).

This might be something to look into.

Thanks again for the suggestions!

#423 bruce55555 – There are reasons to why I am vague in a lot of my posts and Murphy alone knows it.
For starters, I was not born here and did not go to school here but this is and will continue to be my home, hope and history.
I appreciate your response to my explanation.
I am not a stock market guy and I am a Warren Buffett admirer. I love him since he is close to Lebron but I disagree with him supporting BO. I would love to use Wall Street analogy in trying to draw a parallel so people can after Nov 4th go back to managing money and portfolios with enough passion and dedication cause I expect the market to rocket after the election results if current trend continues.

POLL FOR FLORIDA

Monday, September 08

The Presidential race in Florida is now tied. The latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the Sunshine State finds John McCain and Barack Obama each earning support from 48% of voters (crosstabs available for Premium Members).

The race in Florida has been tight since July, with neither candidate holding more than a three percentage-point advantage in the last two polls. Prior to July, McCain enjoyed more solid leads over the Democrat.

POLL FOR OHIO

Monday, September 08

The latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Ohio, finds John McCain out in front of Barack Obama 51% to 44% (crosstabs available for Premium Members).

The latest numbers, which are the first to be released since the conclusion of both parties’ conventions, mark an improvement for the Republican nominee. In August, McCain had a slightly more modest advantage over the Democrat. In fact, the GOP hopeful has held a modest lead since July in the swing state that finally decided the 2004 election.

Happy Anniversary, Murphy

Just stopped in for a moment to say hello. I peek in every now and again and it’s really great to see PUMA PAC getting back to it’s action-driven self.

Great job, everyone.

I have remained active in the nobama fight. Initially, I planned to volunteer for McCain to make a direct hit on obama. Then, I thought about volunteering for obama’s campaign…so, I could go door-to-door telling his targeted demographic group NOT to vote for him. I wasn’t sure I could stomache that.

Fortunately, the Pittsburgh group with whom I worked with during the primaries and later in protest to obama’s nomination; decided to stay together through the general election. I am so happy that I didn’t have to volunteer at either campaign.

Our group meets every week and continues actions such as blogging, writing letters/emails/faxes, and my favorite of things … passing out flyers. I still pass out PUMA flyers, in addition to flyers from other nobama groups.

My daughter who originally decided not to openly protest after the DNC convention, got mad with all the misogynistic Palin comments and went bullistic on Facebook. Now she’s mad and joined in open protests.

We are doing an ovarian cancer walk (in my daughter’s honor) on Sunday. I plan to use that opportunity to pass out flyers.

I miss the blog veterans and look forward to working with PUMA PAC again when organize in the western PA area.

Keep up the great work. Thanks Murphy for getting this show on the road.

these are my thoughts…

I have no doubt, HIllary wants to run again and she will win.
HOWEVER, we can’t give the Republicans control of the WH…
I’m angry but I don’t believe we need a Republican..I like McCain but we need someone who cares for the people…

I need help out here in trying to convince people to not vote for Obama. Obama supporters out here are extremely rude and hostile. Can we get some old video clips or articles of Ayers and make some type of video associating Obama with him…remind people what ayers did and tell them this is the type of friends obama has…is this the type of president you want?

thanks, they’re doing the same thing down here in florida – BUT 51,000 !!! new regs? of llving people?

the supervisor here said they wont have all the new regs here on the disc, so that we’ll be giving them “provisional ballots”. Then he said they wont really be checking whether they’re valid or not. I just looked at him. Lady Hawke just gave me an idea. I guess I’ll call up and ask if they need any help checking out if the provisionals are really registered.
Although I think the paid workers in govt. would probably not be happy to see volunteers taking work away from them..

#22 Laurey4Hill on 09.09.08 at 7:13 pm

Kelligesq: Lou Dobbs is hosting an Independent Convention all week during his regularly scheduled show. I watched last night and was impressed with his attack on the bias in the media.

His show also featured a piece on voter fraud in Ohio. I posted this last night, but apparently there wasn’t much interest about it on this blog.

ACORN submitted 51,000 new voter registrations to the state of Ohio. State election officials are working to validate them before the election. They have found some fraud, namely with duplicate names with different addresses.

The Dobbs show contacted ACORN, but they refused to comment.

#530 Hispanic4Hillary on 09.10.08 at 12:28 am

I know someone who is on the Obama side. she volunteers to help out and she said that the Obama training camp was pushing for people to vote in different states. I am not sure how cause she stopped talking about after I gave her a look…I should have recorded it…All I know is that the Obama camp is very corrupt and they have all these plans to do what ever it takes to win…

#531 Nijma on 09.10.08 at 12:32 am

The lipstick remark …and the OLD FISH REMARK I think was about McCain.. [the obamabots are doing a lot of the OLD and READY TO DIE meme lately]:

Obama made the remarks at a Virginia campaign stop late Tuesday afternoon. “John McCain says he’s about change too, and so I guess his whole angle is, ‘Watch out George Bush – except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics – we’re really gonna shake things up in Washington,’” Obama said.

“That’s not change. That’s just calling something the same thing something different. You know you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. You know you can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it’s still going to stink after eight years. We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”

Or is Bush supposed to be the OLD FISH?

Hey there and welcome. I am a pseudo Obama-Ayers expert.

There has been a 527 on Obama and Ayers recently: “Know Enough?”
http://www.youtube.com/user/AmericanIssueProject

(Perhaps you can email that to your friends.)

Also: Update: From The Real Barack Obama website “Obama’s Weathermen Ayers and Dorhn revisited” (a ton of information, many pages) http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2008/08/14/obamas-weathermen-ayers-and-dohrn-revisited/

Update: “The Obama-Ayers Top Ten: Highlights of the 20 year Obama-Ayers Connection” by Steve Diamond: http://globallabor.blogspot.com/2008/08/obama-ayers-top-ten-10-highlights-of-20.html

Update: “Chicago Annenberg Challenge Shutdown? A cover-up in the making? by Stanley Kurtz http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MTgwZTVmN2QyNzk2MmUxMzA5OTg0ODZlM2Y2OGI0NDM=&w=MA==

–The Weather Underground (some actual footage) Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxoiZdBSi-g

If it makes any sort of difference, journalist Stanley Kurtz is currently in Chicago studying the Ayers-Obama connection as far as the Chicago Annenberg Challenge papers, and he will write an expose on Obama shortly. Steve Diamond is the other Obama-Ayers expert who is deep digging.

The Obama-Ayers story will all be fully vetted soon, so have no worries.

The Daily Kooks think this is a “perfect” campaign strategy! Amazing!

LIPSTICK ON A PIG: Go with it and OWN IT
by leo gold [Subscribe]
Tue Sep 09, 2008 at 09:21:21 PM PDT
Wittingly or unwittlingly, Obama has found a response that perfectly (1) Describes the farce of McCain/Palin trying to appropriate the “change” mantel, and (2) Slams/shakes up Palin without expressly doing so, as it plays on her use of “lipstick” at the RNC convention. Obama clearly meant to refer to McCain’s proposals to date, not to Palin, but the Repubs are feigning outrage. Let them.

The response to Obama’s turn of phrase has been strong in both directions, negative and positive. That’s good, because right now he needs to regain momentum and attention. This phrase and the controversy that now surrounds it is exactly what he needs. While some women may be offended, most will understand his use.

leo gold’s diary :: ::
Obama and Biden should go with “Lipstick on a Pig” for the duration of the campaign. It should be their mantra, until it burns itself into the minds of everyone: Palin is (garish, bloody red) lipstick on McCain’s pig.

It’s perfect.

Wow, you guys are right. The dems say they are for “the middle class.” But when they see such a person at Walmart, or anyone who looks like they might shop at Walmart, they sneer. What’s up with that? Why isn’t it okay to be frugal and get a good deal?
What exactly IS the kind of middle class person that they do like?

#542 kat in your hat on 09.10.08 at 12:47 am

Well, I just saw on No Quarter that the New York Post has endorsed McCain.

Here’s my response:

I haven’t read the rest, only the title. First, off, this is BAD news for Obama. NY Post may be a rag, but it is hugely popular in NYC. It’s the cheapie newspaper, the one with the brightest and most outrageous headlines that one sees EVERY DAY going to work.

Look at the two NY Post stories from today alone:

O PASTOR IN SEX SCANDAL
REV. WRIGHT DONE ME WRONG: CHURCH LADY

http://www.nypost.com/seven/09092008/news/nationalnews/o_pastor_in_sex_scandal_128142.htm

And:

HOW OBAMA BLEW IT
PAYS PRICE IN POLLS FOR BUNGLED ATTACKS ON SARAH

http://www.nypost.com/seven/09092008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/how_obama_blew_it_128132.htm

(Personally, I have to say, the NY Post attacked Hillary, especially toward the end. I think some of those rumors/ conspiracies might be a little right: the media was to destroy Hillary, lift Obama…and then once Hillary was out of the picture: ATTACK Obama. Maybe that’s why Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann are getting pushed to the sidelines? They already ruined Hillary’s candidacy. No longer needed. I’m JUST saying.)

I have seen several people complain that their posts are not noticed. I and other people really do read them and so please don’t give up, your info and insight is valuable to everyone. I usually log on a few times a day. I work full time and still have kids at home. I am trying to get a house I inherited ready for sale before October. I start to type and get called by workmen, one kid has a broken foot and I told him to stop carrying liquid with his crutches because I am sick of mopping the floor 10 times a day but he is demanding a glass of milk. One kid is starving and has to go to work in 20 mins. Another kid wants help with calculus (sorry Not my thing kids)and on and on and on. I really do read you guys I just can’t type a response a lot of the time. I would bet everyone else here is in the same place. But really we do read your posts!

Did anybody watch it? I caught some of it and I was quite surprised at how easy he was on Obama, did it strike anyone else the same way?

Also, been thinkin’ about the Clinton / Obama meeting today. Wouldn’t it be great if some kind of deal was being worked out concerning Hillary. My pipedream: “Obama, if the polls show you losing by x margin, would you agree to do get out of the race & let Hillary take over? We’ve got proof of caucus fraud, ya know!”

Ed Schultz wants to talk to PUMAS!

#582 DancesWithPumas on 09.10.08 at 1:47 am

#562 hillstheone
yep! I remember you suggesting that, although I couldnt recall that you were the one. It occured to me when I was retrieving a link for someone else about something else (or, in English, when I was retrieving an unrelated link for someone)… so I put it out there again.

CALLING RADIO STATIONS ON SEPT 11 WAS HILLSTHEONE’S IDEA. GOOD IDEA, TOO!!!!!

#583 hillstheone on 09.10.08 at 1:47 am

Hi New Orleans Puma, how are you doing tonight? I thought I was all alone on here & remembered you like to post around this time.

Did you think about Bill meeting w/Obama today? Is this verified? I wondered about it a few times! Also listening to Ed Schultz rant & rave was a hoot, I rather enjoyed it.

Dances, I guess “great minds think alike!” -

#291 hillstheone on 09.06.08 at 11:21 pm

NewOrleans,

Some of us have been talking about doing call-in’s to our local radio stations. I think that’s a good start, and also a good assignment for a PROWL one day.

HEY! “ding-ding!”

* * * MURPHY * * * MURPHY * * * MURPHY

Since 9-11 is coming up, why don’t we do a PROWL on 9-11, ALL PUMA’s CALL their local radio stations & talk about their fears about Obama?

Give everyone “talking points” in the prowl, too.

#584 freddiebrown on 09.10.08 at 1:48 am

127 LandiPUMA – Could you repost your list ?
I try to go through all the posts but if I am gone for several hours, it is to difficult to catch up.

I agree with someone up post… a tri fold is an additional expense. I have to try to keep costs down because printing and mailing these all across the country can be expensive.
Its a bit slow coming along..

Dem4Hillary:

I understand the anger.

The thing is though, that so many people don’t see Obama as black or white; he’s just ass****.

Truly, I look at him and listen and I don’t think “black guy,” I think: YOU SUCK.

Now, as far as anything racial, it has totally crossed my mind that he might have white woman issues for numerous reasons, but really, thepolitical race has only dealt with white women….so…is it white woman hate/ woman hate/ or…mainly politics…? (I have noticed gender attack in any case.)

But I am telling you, his remarks make a racial statement to me: I think he underestimates white woman rage.

Maybe just out of touch, I don’t know, but he seems not to know how far is too far, and I do wonder, every once in a while if it is cultural, like maybe he just doesn’t know.

Don’t mess with women. That’s all I have to say.

#586 hillstheone on 09.10.08 at 1:49 am

Hi gina,
What did you say to our dear Mr. Ed?? ;D

#587 annabelle on 09.10.08 at 1:49 am

New post upstairs…

#588 freddiebrown on 09.10.08 at 1:51 am

I think since Obama and his minions say we are all racists for not voting for him,, that we should just do right by him…

We should all make stickers or post its that say “Yes, we’re RACISTS. So sue us !! ” That should really give them something to talk about.

#589 hillstheone on 09.10.08 at 1:51 am

katinyourhat,
re: “I think he underestimates white woman rage,” understatement of the year, lol.

That reminds me, did anyone ever see that “skit” by Chris Rock ridiculing & minimizing gender bias..? Wow it was pretty low, it came out probably 4-5 months ago.

On a lighter note, I liked NewJersey’s idea of sending in the pig cartoons, yes we do need to keep our sense of humor here…

#590 hillstheone on 09.10.08 at 1:52 am

#581:

Ya, you can call radio stations on 9/11, and remind them that Bill Ayers said, about bombs: “I don’t regret setting bombs, I feel we didn’t do enough.”

Of course, that was published in the NYT on 9/11/01. On THE day.

Here’s the 9/11/01 NYT article: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F02E1DE1438F932A2575AC0A9679C8B63

Ok, I am going to bed, but I want to leave one BIG thought for you all to really absorb and promulgate:

**Obama is NOT presidential.**

You can list 100 reasons why, of course. Do so. All over the net. Just remember: “Obama is NOT presidential.”

K, gnight pumas.

:)

#594 freddiebrown on 09.10.08 at 1:59 am

I am trying to find the link for the pig that South Jersey did…I don’t remember the post #

I agree – anyone who thought the “lipstick” and the
“fish” Joke from Obama was not about women, they must live in Fairy land. Let him continue to focus on fighting the “little woman”. I think whoever is handling Palin is brilliant for keeping her out of the media… you have to keep them wanting for more.. by giving them Palin in small doses.. You don’t want to OD like the people are over dosing on Obama. I love how he dead pans when he delivers his ridicule lines.. he thinks he’s so smooth.

#595 NewOrleansPuma on 09.10.08 at 2:00 am

Hillsthe one: Hi…I am doingfine tonight, although I am very tired as I have been on computer all day and I will need to check out…I think your idea about the call ins on 9/11 is a great idea! Truly do…
And as far as Bill meeting with the liar, fraud, I do not know what to think…I would not meet with this sleze , Obama,if he were the last garbage collector on earth and the garbage men had been on strike in the city for a year….He is a vile, amoral, empty self- serving total and absolute fraud. I pray every day that the Spirit of Truth fills the minds of the voters to enlighten them re this dangerous man. And I think that will or is happening. Good night, dear Hill….Sleep well all!
Tonight on here was so funny…it felt like an ole time slumber party…the comments hilarious…Thanks all you great, grand, charming PUMAS. See you later in the day…

373 TrishfromCanada

“Can someone explain why its so bad when Bo says lipstick on a pig but its forgiven when hillary supporters say it.

Because both are rude and sexist no matter who says it, yet I don’t recall any on you yelping when it was directed at Brazile who regardless of who she is, is a woman”

~~~~~~~~~~~
There is a huge difference Trish. First — the Hillary supporters never shouted that out at Brazile. It was Harriet Christian who shouted it out after a vote to return full voting rights to Floridians were denied and the argument was being made that the votes for half the people was better than getting nothing and we should be happy with that compromise. Harriet shouted out “It’s still lipstick on a pig.”
The difference Trish is that it was never aimed at a specific person… it was aimed at the policies that were being painted as fair when they were anything but fair.
That’s why it was ok when the Hillary people shouted it.
The difference is Obama has a history of using ambiguous comments to attack a person. Biden stated the same day that no amount of lipstick could make Palin’s record look good… so you know that Obama’s directives and narratives was to turn the lipstick remark around as a personal attack on Palin. Probably because her pitbull with lipstick bothered him and his male ego and he can never resist bringing women down to the level of a pig.
That’s why it’s ok for the Hillary people and not ok for Obama. I just stopped in to look over the site for link information but couldn’t resist giving my 2¢ on that question cause the misinformation pissed me off.
I’m done.
DON’T TELL ME WORDS DON’T MATTER!
I’m so angry.
He thinks he’s sooo cute. Period jokes, lipstick,pigs, smelly fish, oh, sweetie, you’ve gone too far.
Where the hell is N.O.W., Emily’s list, Gloria Steinem.
Is Hillary STILL going to campaign for him??
I can’t for the life of understand why the Obama-Ayres connection isn’t getting HUGE media play.
Also why was LisaNova’s “Palin vs Obama” video deleted from Youtube.com?
#602 Nijma on 09.10.08 at 10:14 am
I am not a WalMart democrat.
The employment practices of Walmart are part of what is very much wrong with America these days.
Start with sweatshop labor from Bagladesh and China. Add in beating children , making them work double shifts and sleep on the floor, no proper toilets, and certainly no union organization.
How can you make a t-shirt in Asia, spend all kinds of gas shipping it halfway around the world, then still sell it at a price that beats out even non-union American workers? Inhuman labor practices.
And what about Walmart’s own employees? They tell their employees how to apply for Medicaid instead of providing proper health insurance.
Ten years ago everyone in my neighborhood had health insurance. Now everyone is battling health problems without insurance while making half the wage they were ten years ago.
That’s why the middle class is disappearing–we don’t just have to shop at Walmart, we have to work there too. How long do the wealthy in this country think they can last without the middle class to buy goods that is the economic engine of this country? Oh, I forgot… that economic engine is now driving India and China.
It would be very easy to pass legislation requiring all imports to be made in humane conditions. Oh, I forgot, China holds all of our war debt.
