N.O.T. (Nothing On Top) For Democrats 2008
Puma PAC, People United Means Action, is Protesting the 2008 Election. We are Democrats who will vote for President this year in Protest. We will not support the Selected presidential nominee. Millions of us will vote John McCain as a PROTEST against the DNC and the Obama Movement. Millions will vote 3rd Party or leave the top spot BLANK. Not because we are angry or bitter or sore losers. Not because we are shrieking holdouts. We are Protesting the 2008 Election because the DNC and the Obama Movement used dirty tricks and disenfranchisement to grab the nomination.
These are the Reasons for the Puma PAC Protest of the 2008 Election
- The DNC punished the VOTERS of Florida and Michigan with DISENFRANCHISEMENT. because of the actions of their elected officials. In Florida, Democratic VOTERS WERE DISENFRANCHISEDbecause of the shenanigans of a REPUBLICAN legislature.
- The DNC CHANGED THE VOTES of 600,000 Michiganders on May 31, 2008 when it stole 4 pledged delegates from one candidate and re-pledged them to another.
- The Obama Movement PAID THE SUPERDELEGATES who endorsed Senator Obama. Crucial Super Delegates pledged their support to Obama after the Obama Movement contributed tens of thousands of dollars to them. These were Super Delegates whose constituents had voted overwhelmingly for Senator Clinton in the the primaries.
- The DNC ALLOWED SEXIST BIAS TO HANDICAP THE ONLY WOMAN IN THE RACE. When Tucker Carlson said that Hillary Clinton was a CASTRATOR, the DNC WAS SILENT. When Chris Matthews said that Bill Clinton’s INFIDELITY was the ONLY REASON for Hillary Clinton’s achievements, the DNC WAS SILENT. When the MEDIA CIRCUS unleashed a sexist onslaught of criticism against Senator Clinton regarding: her laugh, her cleavage, her pants, her wrinkles, her earrings, her “bitchiness,” her emotional “instability” the DNC WAS SILENT.
- The DNC and the Obama Movement SUPPRESSED THE VOTES OF CLINTON DELEGATES at the National Convention in Denver. On August 27th, 2008 the DNC and the Obama Movement maneuvered an undemocratic and underhanded voting script to ensure that Hillary Clinton’s pledged delegates (and the 18 million votes they represented) HAD NO VOTE. Entire state delegations were brow-beaten into voting Present or Passing their votes to other states. August 27, 2008 is a day that will live in infamy for the Democratic National Committee.
If you are a Democrat and you are FED UP with the DNC and the Obama Movement’s tactics, JOIN US! We are Protesting the 2008 Election.
N.O.T. for Democrats this year. NOTHING ON TOP for the Democratic Ticket in 2008. Vote for John McCain; Vote for a 3rd Party Candidate; or LEAVE IT BLANK ON TOP.
CONTRIBUTE TODAY HERE IF YOU CAN, AND THANK YOU!
Please visit Riverdaughter’s NEW Act Blue page for Pumas to identify and support Progressive, Down-Ticket Democrats. These folks need ALL the help we can give them this year — their party leadership is in disarray and the funds are NOT flowing from the DONC down to these good Democrats, ESPECIALLY if they are challenging Democratic incumbents. I read early this morning, ACT BLUE is no longer supportng PUMA (the DENVER GROUP)
WHAT’S up wih This,??
I
WAHOOOO I GOT FIRST, FINALLY wow, now I feel like Obama, I’m an important person but don’t know why… I’m just first and important,
heheheheeh
Reposting from other side regarding how to Handle and Clinton for Obama rally
NewOrleansPuma:
Do you know what you do at that rally, you use it as a platform to get a question… You look Senator Hillary Rodham clinton in the face and you ask
“Senator Clinton, I have been a Democrat my whole life. After what we saw as a country in 2000, I have believed in counting every vote, truly representative democracy, not allowing the selections of our leaders to be made by supreme authority”
Senator Clinton, It is my opinion, that those principles which are the most sound to our democracy and have been at centerpiece of the Democratic party were completely violated during this primary to achieve a selection rather than an election of the nominee and I feel that my vote for that selection completely undermines my own philosophy and the Democratic principles of this party and this nation, why should I do what you are asking by voting for a selected nominee?”
If you are respectful and brief and allow her to finish it will accomplish many things:
1) she will KNOW you are a PUMA
2) everyone else will know you are a PUMA
3) it puts it back to process and violation of principles rather than “hillary we’re pissed that you didn’t win due to bias, sexism, and a flawed system. “Why in the hell would we vote for Obama now.”
5) it might just lead to a media interview. You want to go find the media after the speech and launch yourself into an interview.
6) it will give her a chance to answer the question of course in a politically correct way
This action at a HRC for Obama rally will take the spotlight off being angry. It will take the spotlight off being bitter but it will give a voice to us and will show our support for Senator Clinton without her having to publically disassociate herself from us. It will get the question out there, “does it matter how you got your nomination?”
If she comes to Tennessee, which i doubt she will, this would be my course of action. it keeps the whole question in the course of debate and keeps our movement and our voice from having to be marginalized by Senator Clinton because it is respectful and focused on the point of election, not selection, just like in 2000.
#4, still in top 5…
I just want to remind everyone that either all of Congress or the Senate will only be back in session and then off until January. My brother reminded me of this so I am trying to research which it is. But it could make a big difference if we are planning any prowls on them.
Is it just me, or is anyone else concerned about Hillary taking Obama up on his plea for her to “surrogate” for him?
If Obama loses this election, Hillary has a clear shot at 2012. And Obama will join the ranks of Kerry, Gore and Dean as guys that could not get it done. If she helps him and he is elected, chances are she’s going to be out of the running until 2016, and than will probably be facing an electorate that has had it with 8 years of Obama.
The other concern is that if she starts in on Palin, she risks losing the support of some of those 18 million people that voted for her. It might be perceived as “sour grapes” – if she can’t have it no other woman can. Or it might be perceived as Hillary selling out and surrendering to Howard Dean and Barak.
I just do not see an upside for her here in pimping for Obama. As far as I’m concerned, the Party trashed her while sending a message that sexism was OK in politics. If Obama had picked her as the VP, I truly believe that he could have skated into the Oval Office.
Anyone else concerned about this?
top ten?
okay, you guys are GREAT, I WANT to KNOW what’s going on with this ACT BLUE crap-I read at River daughter or Sweetie, or somwhere this morning, (i’ve been up for 30 hours and drinking wine)
ACT BLUE threw us under the BUS—what’s going on???
diva2:
All senators and representatives have fully staffed local offices in every state. Many senators have more than one office in their state. We can do prowls at their offices in their home states and IN FACT I believe it is better because when we send stuff to D.C. it can take up to a month or more longer than if we send it to local offices.

I agree with EVERYTHING you just said. I’m just taking it to the next level and suggesting that if she’s going to do this, we be there with her every step of the way.
We get in those rallies, we ask those questions. She needs to know we’re not going away.
The democratic party needs to know we’re not going away.
repost from downstairs. Please read:
mkp651 — how’s it going?
This is a confusing time. It’s very important that we be patient and understanding with each other. Our party is in disarray and the DONC and Obama Movement are in MELTDOWN.
Puma PAC is a Democratic political action committee. We welcome ALL democrats and independents who are outraged with the DONC and are working to GET OUR PARTY BACK.
We are NOT republicans. There are zillions of republican blogs and sites on the internet representing the views and agenda of the republican party. This is not one of them.
Puma PAC is NOT supporting McCain/Palin. We are Protesting the Election. We will NOT vote for Obama/Biden at the top of the ticket this year. But we WILL vote, and we WILL vote for good down-ticket dems.
Many Puma PAC members will Protest the Election by voting for McCain — that’s fine — it’s a POWERFUL Protest Vote. But it is not an ENDORSEMENT of the Republican Party OR the Republican agenda.
Today is the last day for any McCain/Palin lovin anyone needs to work out of their system. I know that McCain is not an evil man. I know he has experience to be president. I know Palin is a dynamo of a political figure. We fully intend to protest and express outrage at sexist treatment of her by the MSM and the Blogger Boiz. But we DO NOT politically support a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-creationism far-right politician.
I know that voting for McCain is THE MOST POWERFUL NOBAMA vote you can make. I also know that many, many Pumas are absolutely, positively NOT going to pull the lever for a Republican president. End of story. No more brow-beating these Pumas. They know the math. They understand the consequences.
No more campaigning for McCain. No more telling Pumas HOW to vote for President.
More action, less talk.
More talk about reforming the DONC, less talk about how great some Republicans may be.
The political landscape has changed. Puma PAC has not. It may turn out that for some of our long-time members, Puma PAC is not the best blog or politcal action forum. That is OKAY. We will miss you, and we wish you the best.
This is a very big country. Lots of true-blue Democrats are social conservatives. Lots are flaming liberals (like me!) We are ALL Democrats and we must stay united if we ever want to win the White House again.
Time to keep moving forward.
I just wish the Chicago Machine would leave Hillary alone. I cannot recall any election where a primary contender was forced to campaign for a (selected) nominee… I found it interesting the week of the DemCon that FOX was reporting the Bill Clinton referred to Obama as a Chicago Thug… I really wish Geraldine Ferraro would have stayed neutral. Hopefully this is all only grounded in them (Hillary, Bill, Geraldine) being loyal dems that HAVE TO BE Obama supporters…
History will look back on this time as a point where the country was reborn, or actually destroyed, by the acts of the Politicians.
I was over on act blue sight and they are supporting obama? what is our reason for using them? have they weeded out the bad guys?
GUYS, THERE is a WARNING on the DENVER GROUP, I didnt’ remember right away—
ACT BLUE is OUT—HE is OBAMA ALL THE WAY
GO TO THE SIGHT< it’s there
#6 Grizzly, Well said. Hillary is smart however and I doubt she will fall into this trap of working her bum off to be the whipping girl of the Democrat party. Because if she does go out and work for him she will be blamed when he loses. I think she should just lay low and maybe campaign for Senators who are up for reelection.
#3Dem4Hillary: Dem: I responded to this post on the previous thread. Please go read it. Thanks.
Repost from downstairs if anyone else is in a Saturday-afternoon-have-some-fun mood. Sorry if this is offensive to anyone. Just needed a break.
~~~~~~
This is just for fun because it’s Sat. afternoon and I’m tired of feeling weighed down by the threat of BO. I’m making a CD with theme songs to listen to until election day. Starting with:
Gonna wash that man right outta my hair
Nowhere Man
The Great Pretender
Songs that are hilarious (but oh so true) when you apply them to BO.
Anybody have more?
Sarah Palin as “Commander in Chief of Alaska’s National Guard” contrary to what other’s say about the “limited duties and powers of a Governor”
Minimizing her credentials while refusing to inform the American Public or even acknowledge his lack of Administrative experience for the highest office is such a disservice to the public – here and abroad.
Re: HRC rally for Obama:
What do you think is more likely? Do you think that HRC is going to really attract Obamites who have hated and despised Hillary. Just as we are not on the O-train, they do not have any sort of new found love for her.
I think it’s more likely that at least 1/2 of a crowd at an HRC rally will feel (even if they are voting for Obama) that Hillary and Bill got completely screwed by this party. You’re not going to be in hostile territory. Of course the Obamites will be there in shirts getting names, phone, etc but I don’t think that the average person is going to be in LOVE with Obama. I think they’re going to be more likely to be a supporter of Senator Clinton who wants to hear and see her again and may be curious what she’s going to say.
She’s not our enemy, even if she’s doing the enemy’s work.
#13 murphy: Well said also. I am an Independent and always will be, I see the corruption in both parties and vote for the one I perceive to have the least corruption at the moment I vote. I will not tolerate sexism even when spewed by women, it is my number one issue. I very much admire you guys but am not a Democrat. I will be interested to see how you evolve and I also think it is time. You are the most interesting thing on the TV or web so I won’t be able to stop myself from checking in. But I realize I may not be a good fit.
#14deadgirlsrise: Hillary, Bill, Geraldine are no more loyal Democrats than I and every other traditional Democrat in this country!They are politicians; that is the difference. And that difference, like it or not, has accounted for a roll over that affirms what in fact took place in this country. Like it or not, in this political cycle, all of them, by supporting fraud Obama, do me, this country, and this party no good. What good they do for themselves will yet to be seen.
Thought you Pumas could use some good news. This link is from Rasmussen published today:
#795 mkp651,
Not leaving, my friend. Just lurking.
My concluded stand is no longer a contributing factor to PUMA (see Murphy’s post #630) so I feel no further comment should be imposed by yours truly.
I respect Murphy so much. I must retreat to the sidelines and be a cheerleader. All I can be now is a distraction. I want you guys to be focused to Murphy and her call for more talk about the Democratic party, not McCain.
But I’ll be around. This PUMA thing is just to damn fascinating to ignore.
I have To go to bed, while you were sleeping, I was surfing,
I don’t know what’s going on with ACT BLUE, but THEY’RE OUT with PUMA
don’t go there for support for our Denver Group or ANYONE.
I still have concerns about leaving the top of the ballot empty, because of how easy it could be to count it as a vote for BO, or could be somehow be “filled in”.
I keep remembering the “hanging chads” and how the officials were saying that “this is how the person meant to vote”. If someone votes a straight dem ticket, but leaves the top blank, I wonder if a machine, or person, could think it was suppose to be for BO and count it as such.
Does this make sense?
Thank you for the post. I read the article and left this message.
mdaum: Although you have made some important and factual comments you are simply wrong about our membership. You along with Olbermann, Matthews Cafferty, Blitzer, King et al have been drinking the kool aid from Obama’s kitchen.
Our members are made up of Doctors, nurses, school teachers, blue collar workers, etc. We are male and female. We are black, white, Asian, Native American etc.We are NOT what you and the MSM try to portray us.We are not old, uneducated, disgruntled females.
Visit our PAC at http://blog.pumapac.org and see for yourself instead of making assumptions that are not based in reality. And while you are doing that, be cognizant of the fact that there many more “lurkers” than there are actual Bloggers.
Have fun while you are being educated
NewOrleansPuma:
I think your comment is fair. It is my opinion that an all out protest may not do much in terms of public opinion, but does that matter or not? I don’t know.
It would be MY strategy to get in that rally and get a platform to ask a question.
I think what actions you take at a rally depends on
- number of people who will be with you
- intended action/intended audience/intended goals
- personal choices
if say there are 50 people willing to go all out protest, that is one thing.
if there is one person who wants to make a public stand, it would be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to do direct action non-violent protest at such an event. Therefore, it would be more likely that I would be alone because I just often find that I am. So, unless there was direct organization and a threshold number of at least 15 – 20 people, I would go to the rally, not cause a scene but ask the question and then work the media afterwards to get an interview.
#21Dem4Hill: I respect your idealism. I support your good heart, but, politics at this level and time in a campaign has no idealism in it. It is all pragmatic. In this political cycle, as in life, “by their fruits ye shall know them.”..My conclusions to your post on previous thread remain the same. And to you, I send all of the best!
#22 Seattlegirl
I have no official party affiliation , neither leaning too far to the left or the right- I’m a live and let live kind of girl for the most part. (but I hail from a long line of staunch southern democrats whom I respect greatly).
I wasn’t pro-McCain until he became the strongest weapon available against BO. I felt welcome here because I HATED the way Hillary was treated and felt she was the most qualified candidate in the field. I will still lurk because this is an awesome group. I hope it’s OK to keep adding comments as long as I take my McCain/Palin sentiments elsewhere.
The cause is crucial. PUMA activity is crucial. We have a common goal.
******** OF COURSE IT MAKES SENSE – Obama’s followers will stop at nothing to make sure he wins. These are tenacious, fanatical followers. They are focused on their goal of making Black History. Obama UNFORTUNATELY the wrong person on the PEDESTAL
#28 Middle age female
That not only makes sense, it actually happens. I was a poll worker for years.
#13 Murphy,
A bazillion thank you’s.
I for one will work to get people registered to vote, and to help coordinate and provide transportation to the polls on Nov. 4 for those in my community who are in need of it.
Fantastic post Murphy, I would normally say “as always”, but this one defines our blog and goal. I think it should be on every page, even if it has to be made smaller for your new gem of the day.
It is so great I will take your exact words and make it into a poster when I am finish with my work project I have to finish by Monday.
You inspire me Murphy, Hillary inspires me and many others like Mama, Riverdaughter, Will, Sherri, and Diane and so many others on the blog. You all make me proud to be a woman and a PUMA. Thank you once again.
With regards to Act Blue and The Denver Group, Heidi Li Feldman had several writeups about it on her blog and The Denver Group also has writeups on it. They got thrown under the Obo bus because they were “promoting information going against Obo for POTUS”. I would expect that the same will happen to Riberdaighter and Confluence once ‘they’ connect the dots with that blogs messages over the course of this fraud selection.
Just more Obo scrubbing of any opposition. And yes it is FASCISM!! There, I said it – it is fascism plain and simple. To blatantly quash any opposition to push your won poltical agenda – What else can we call it? This is part of what we’re fighting here folks, do not ever forget that.
Murpy,
“NOTHING ON TOP” suggests I leave it blank. You are misleading people. I know you are angry, but pull this website and yourself together! WE ARE NOT ALL DEMOCRATS. Some of us happen to be INDEPENDENTS that vote DEMOCRAT, In my state we declare the party and vote, then switch back to Independent.
I SUPPORTED HILLARY AND FELT THE INJUSTICES THE SAME AS YOU!!! You are making people feel unwelcome.
I’M THRILLED SARAH PALIN IS RUNNING AND I CAN KNOCK DOWN THE INJUSTICES OF THE DNC BY NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA AND THE MISOGYNY BY VOTING FOR PALIN ALL AT ONE TIME. DON’T KILL IT. SO WHAT IF WE TALK ABOUT MCCAIN AND PALIN…WE HAVE A RIGHT TO, IT IS WHAT IS HOLDING SOME PEOPLE HERE. WE ARE SEEING WHAT IS HAPPENING TO HER AND IF WE TRUELY BELIEVE THAT HILLARY WAS DONE WRONG, WE WON’T LET ANOTHER WOMEN GO THROUGH IT.
freddiebrown:
I have been contemplating this very issue. I have concerns too.
Ok, “dirty tricks” means what? Dirty Politics? Sexism?
I swear its two steps forward and three steps back here. First you protest sexism, then it’s not an issue. Wobble, wobble, wobble. It’s sexism when it subtle and directed at Hillary Clinton, but not when it’s blatantly being heaped on Sarah Palin?
Eitehr it is or it isn’t. Consistency wins.
#24 CyberFerret52
Thank you for that piece of Heaven post. Haven’t seen you around much…welcome back.
Murphy,
How about a prowl on Senator Clinton. We need to ask her not to be Obama’s attack dog against Sarah Palin. Even though Hillary is probably too smart for that (it’s Joe Biden’s job let HIM do it!) our request may help strengthen her resolve when she is being pressured from all sides at the ONC.
Thanks
MURPHY – GREAT RE-POST.
EVERYONE – I know we all have the option of leaving the top of the ticket blank, but it you do, you leave yourself vulnerable to voter fraud via ballot tampering.
1. We all know we won’t vote for BO.
2. For those who won’t vote for McCain either, at least consider filling in by voting third party. No third party will ever get elected, so you don’t have to worry about that and at least your ballot will be filled in so no one can mess with it.
If you really want to read how Oprah’s “fans” feel about it, go to Oprah’s own blog… if she still has all of the 1500 + posts up in OPPOSITION TO HER “NEUTRAL POSITION”.
She is getting blasted, boycotted, called every name in the book over her “hypocracy”. If you can believe that the ones posting are actually her members, they are canceling everything “Oprah” they can think of over it.
——————————
I don’t believe in the “Democratic Party” anymore. They are the Bush-Cheney lack of democratic principles all piled on top of a jack-ass.
It all CAN get worse, if the democrats “WIN” the presidential election.
I don’t agree with everything on the other ticket, but I am hoping an influx of Democrats will, in the long run, have a positive influence on that party.
I can live with them four more years under their nominee – I cannot live with Obama for eight and there is a guarantee that, if he is successful at stealing this election, he will perfect his skills in the next.
It will be a lot harder to go after him – and the DNC – if they are firmly planted in the White House.
#30Dem4Hill: As I said….I support your good heart…I hope for your sake that you get the opportunity to do this In Tenn, or somewhere else. Clearly you will make the very best of that opportunity.
Votes will win or loose this election. Only votes and moving of voters to vote on election day matters now.
If Obama wins this election, this country will be transformed in negative ways one cannot even yet imagine. I somehow suspect that you will indeed engage in that effort as well..and for that I am most grateful.
I cant leave the top blank for my vote to be stolen or misrepresented,and I wont write Hillary in if she doesnt get that vote,because it goes to democratic xo because of my down ticket democratic votes. Leaving it blank just is not a safe option for me……..
#28 Middle age female, I agree, not voting at the top is not a smart Idea. If we truly want to defeat Obama and make the DNC take notice and clear their house…then the only way to vote is McCain/Palin.
MURPHY AND NHFORHILLARY
Oh, no. I fear we are about to go round and round again. Murphy, your yellow post on the blog seems very clear as does your message at the top of the thread. However, by headlining the thread with N.O.T. it is a bit contradictory to the more nuanced message you then lay out. You may want to consider rewording the heading as NO BO ON TOP, or something so people don’t get a mixed message and a long discourse starts all over again about voting choices, etc. Plus, per my previous post, I do believe it is not wise to leave the top of the ticket blank as it leaves the voter vulnerable to having their ballot tampered with. So, I think if you change the heading, you achieve two goals: Clarify for those reading the heading only that you are not saying don’t vote in any, way, shape, or form for President AND you avoid encouraging people to leave the top blank which leaves them open to ballot tampering.
My two cents on this extremely important issue.
Is anyone gathering up links or any other resources for the Action Center today? If not, I will hold off posting resources.
This is very interesting I had read somewhere around the beginning of May that some people believed that Bo was working for the terrorists and that they had proof. This being so farfetched and hard to believe, naturally this was taken as totally insane and it never got any where. The thing about being totally insane is that it can be used as a very good strategy for infiltrating and overpowering America.
The really scary thing about it is that they have used this strategy before and have been successful at it. They flew airplanes into skyscrapers, this even though being for warned the FBI considered too outlandish to ever happen. So because of this we were attacked.
People who study criminal behavior will tell you that criminals will stick to a pattern that has proven successful in the past. This becomes their signature behavior pattern and by studying this they can apprehend the criminal. So what has been the terrorists proven method of behavior? You tell me
As we get closer to Nov 4th we’ll be encouraging as many Pumas AS POSSIBLE to work on election day — driving seniors to the polls (with Puma flyers on hand, natch!) holding signs, monitoring polls — etc.
Registering people to vote is FABULOUS.
Just one more and then I’m gone for the day. Guess no one’s in the mood to play.
I agree with you 100%.
I am now an independent and also don’t agree with the Pro-life issue and also choice education.
I too believe that the McCain/Palin ticket is the ONLY way to ensure that MY vote will NOT be used fraudulently to further advance BO’s personal agenda.
After witnessing my party (Dem party) conduct itself during the primaries, I just can’t trust it to represent our county in the next 4 years. It leads me to think what else is it capable of?
Good morning fellow Pumas,
I sent emails late last night to NOW and Emily’s list. I did get replys from both organizations this morning.
If anyone wants to read their blah blah, I will be glad to post, otherwise I did not want to waste blog space.
I will share my response to their response, below.
I hope all of us can keep these emails going out to them as they state they are “working to organize 6 million women to vote for Barack Obama” and the usual ilk about our reproductive freedom.
My reply: Greetings,
If you support a candidate who is pro-woman, why are you supporting Barack Obama?
I sincerely want to know your rationale for this given the fact that I have seen nothing to validate this claim. Although I have seen plenty of misogyny and sexism on the part of his campaign and the Democratic Party.
Give me a break and quit using scare tactics to keep women in line.
Sincerely,
i really really really just want to write in Hillary. Now, I was told that any write in, will simply be recorded and that’s it. But, do you think there’s a chance that my write in will be changed? I don’t know…. I just don’t want to vote third party.
I want to vote “present” which is my official line to the media or I want to write her in and sometimes I think it’s stupid I’m giving that much thought to my personal vote because honestly, it isn’t going to change the complexion of the election in my county or state.
NOW should know better obama used sexism to win
OHIO VOTER REGISTRATION
Here is an article that says that new Ohio voters can register and vote by absentee ballot only between Sept. 30 and October 6. That should be enough time for the registrations to be checked for validity. They cannot register and vote on Nov. 4.
Am I reading this right?
I am working with a couple of friends here in southern California to put together a list of Democrats on the lower ticket to support. Is there anyone else in another part of the state who would like to help with this project?
What I read today is that Obama has signed up so many democratic votes in Ohio,that HE IS confident about the NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY, and his win Nov 4th.
Working on a research project. Does anyone have credible, reliable info re: SD’s being bribed or bought? If so, please post and point me to your source. Thanks.
Also, Blue Blue Gal posted the final numbers from the convention floor for Obama and Clinton. Does anyone know what the numbers were post primary (in other words, the REAL numbers)? If so, could you please post them and if you have a source for your info, please point me to it as well? Thanks.
Please type a heading that’s easy to find on the blog freeway!
there is a good article on RD about obie distancing himself from Kilpatrick from Detoroit, who resigned on Wednesday.
He was once collaborating with him, now he wants to distance himself, typical obama. Birds of a feather…..
I believe leaving a blank at the top of any ballot this year would be devastating, almost an endorsement for Obama actually. Being pissed off about how the dnc selected it’s candidate is one thing, letting that empty suit into office should be a crime. Obama’s camp is out their working hard to make this a landslide election, people better get their heads on straight. I have many doubts about where his true stances are on this country and it’s future, I have no doubts about McCain or Palin having this country’s best interest, none whatsoever.
As far as hillary is concerned, I think she will stick to obama’s policies and wont touch Palin, but if she does, then I will just be plain old wrong.
#49 Anna7000
I agree, every time I see the “N.O.T.” it is misleading because without explanations which get lost in the blog, it is interpreted as “Leave it Blank” on top. The way votes are counted (chads) if they can determine the intent of the voter, we lose those votes to Obama.
Not Obama on Top is much better, the N.O.T. is cute, but don’t keep it for that reason when it is easily misunderstood. And please stop telling people how to vote otherwise for the rest of the ticket, let us decide for ourselves. People might vote for the democrats like Kerry that helped get us into this mess.
#57 Dem4Hillary on 09.06.08 at 2:46 pm
i really really really just want to write in Hillary. Now, I was told that any write in, will simply be recorded and that’s it. But, do you think there’s a chance that my write in will be changed? I don’t know…
that is the problem u just don’t know what they will do someone on here said they worked polls a long time and Yes they do(change them) but I can’t find the post).
Been e-mailing: Steinem, Ferrara, Clinton, Emily’s list, NOW. . . expressing my anti-Obama sentiments and asking how otherwise intelligent women can support the lying, thieving, flip-flopping, misogynist, self-ordained messiah. Have been refering to Biden/Obama as “father and son”.
When is someone going to mention Biden’s sponcership of the bankruptcy bill? That alone ought to be enough to turn the voters against him. I’m looking forward to seeing Palin debate him.
it seems like the democratic leadership and obama feel like no one can stop them from running all over democracy,doesn’t it seem they are making a mockery of america by acting in such a manner?
Hi Pumas:
Glad we’re finally getting back to doing something – do have to add one thing – I am not a republican nor am I a democrat any longer – I am an independent.
That being said – sexism & misogyny whether against a female democrat, or female republican,or any female is beside the point – it is against a woman – if we don’t stand up for that we are no better than big “O” who supposedly stands for women, NOW which I guess only supports liberal left wing women, Emily’s List which I guess only supports Democratic women, MS which is also only for liberal women, I guess, etc………….. –
Now I have to tell you – this pisses me off big time – I’ve said before – we women are own worse enemy – don’t care what party you belong to or even if you belong to none – we need to push back against the treatment of women.
This may not be something to be done by this pac because we are a NOBAMA, protest the dONC selection, etc.
I don’t know where to go for direction on this issue but if anyone has a clue, please let me know. This needs to be something sent to everyone and I do mean everyone – every liberal, left wing whatever as well as the right wing whatevers – because it is no longer a matter of being kept barefoot & pregnant – it’s about our rights as human beings……………………..
Done – let me know if there is a site somewhere for above issue………
Now let’s get that empty suit piece of shit smacked down & Hillary better not be stomping for him after the way He & the DONC treated her………………………
nhforhillary#39 — that is simply not true.
There is no suggestion that you SHOULD leave the top spot blank — only that you DO NOT vote for Obama.
I am misleading no one.
I am not angry.
I have stated many times, including in comment #13, that Puma PAC welcomes ALL Democrats and Independents who want to reform the Democratic Party.
The fact of the matter is that some people ARE unwelcome here. Puma PAC is not and never has been an unmoderated free-for-all. Far from it.
As I said, Puma PAC will always speak out against misogyny and sexist bias toward Sarah Palin, as we have done on several occasions in the week since she was announced as the Rep VP choice.
Of course you have a right to talk about McCain/Palin politically.
Just not here.
Obots are everywhere. I went to the store and heard one of them badgering a woman about her preference (who clearly had not done internet research), and was able to step in and help her, as a PUMA.
I mentioned the Berg lawsuit, which the Obot scoffed at, but the woman came up to me later and sounded excited at it, mumbling about our voices not being heard.
Current line of attack is “it’s better than the alternative”. My answer, “I happen to like the alternative.”
‘Of course you have a right to talk about McCain/Palin politically.
Just not here.’
Ah, DEMOCRACY!
SCARLET
Others have also mentioned concern about this. You may want to consider writing a Letter to the Editor or an Op-Ed piece regarding your concerns. If you want to, here are some links that can help:
#59, I don’t know, its a good question.
I just think that it is unfair to promote someone just prior to their running and then to not give someone else the chance, because they entered the game late. She is saying after the election she’d like to have her on. But the fact remains that her audience got to see Obama at least 2 times and zero appearances for Sarah Palin.
Hey Murphy and fellow Pumas, I’ve got a good idea for a prowl,see what ya’ll think:: What if one of us writes a letter about all of Obamas Muslim ties with web addys for reference,and we take turns and all send a letter to each Pumas local paper,ya know, 1 paper a a time,with a lot of requests.I think that we make a much better statement in NUMBERS,what do ya’ll think?
murphy: you might want to check the top post b/c it does mention “leave the top spot blank” where it used to say “write hillary in”, and I thought that write ins were allowed as a PUMA option of protest.
Dear Oprah Winfrey:
I am writing as a woman who is stunned by your ambivalence towards inviting Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Governor Sara Palin onto your show. You have made a point of inviting prominent politicians and national leaders onto your show in the past. So, I fail to understand why you would fail to invite such a prominent woman onto your show now. As you are aware, your audience is comprised of majority women by the millions. It would serve both yourself and your audience well by inviting the newest and now highly prominent Governor Sara Palin onto your show….
Action Idea
I’d like to build a directory of sources where the DNC has made statements, etc of sexism towards any female candidate or representative (for example Ferraro). If you can provide me with the source i’ll do the rest. I’ll tackle the media later.
please send them to prowlngrowl @ gmail . com
thank you
I feel really energized by the postings on this board over the last day or two.
Like Susie1945, are we going to have orchestrated mailings – or growls en masse? I am sending out emails, etc. but I think we have so much power in our numbers. Or am I just confused?
Please advise, someone. Thanks.
Yikes! Looks like the Gulf – NOLA area is going to get hit AGAIN: Hurricane Ike
#47tennaseepuma: I concur with you. Frankly, I think this is not a safe option for anyone in this election.
No one should doubt that the Obama so called voter registration drive has already and will continue to submit fraudalent new voter registrations. This is well documented as having alreay occured. Having seen what was done in caucauses by these sleze, thief frauds, can anyone doubt these Alinsky any means to desired end people will not continue to do this up until the deadline for submissions? If you do, you are naive.
The greatest example of sleze politics, in the street level, is always at its pitch regarding registrations and getting people to the polls on election day by any means . I am also very gravely concerned that they also know how to circumvent cetain of the electeronic paperless and paper electronic voting machines.
EVERY VOTE IS NEEDED TO OFFSET THESE TACTICS.
LEAVING A VOTE FOR PRESIDENT EMPTY IS A VERY DANGEROUS ACT.and a write in with no aquiescence legally of the write in cadidate is equivalent to doing the same thing.On this point, clearly I do not agree with the position of the Pac, but I understand why the position has been taken in terms of a position of a group that seeks to do other things. And, I continue to support what those other things are: Reform of the Demcratic Party which has been usurped .
Trish – I think Elaine was working on this very project. You may want to contact her. I think she started the unbroken circles web site, but don’t quote me on any of it.
tennessee puma – thanks for that link. of course, the freaking dnc doesn’t provide totals, but at least the info is there and it looks like it’ll be a tedious just today to start counting.
tennessee puma – thanks for that link. of course, the freaking dnc doesn’t provide totals, but at least the info is there and it looks like it’ll be a tedious just today to start counting.
For all of you concerned about not voting for President, leaving it blank it may end up that that vote is given to the candidate you like least in the long run.
I think the reason Murphy has to include it in our Democratic declaration of the PUMA movement is because some Democrats do not feel in their hearts they can vote for the pretender nor a Republican.
People have posted until we are tired of hearing it…the pitfalls of this, but the vote is owned by the person in the booth.
Please let this discussion be done. You have beat it to death and people with this intention know what you have said and have until November to reconsider.
I do not have a problem voting in November. I will never support corruption.
#84 Anna7000
ok I’ll get in touch with her to see if she needs help
New Orleans and Tennessee Pumas, I too agree. This race is very, very close. Frankly I am afraid. I have no qualms whatsoever in voting for McCain/Palin and I am doing my very best to convince everyone I know to do the same.
TrishfromCanada
It’s so great to see you again. I have missed you.
What I see is that they no longer want or need us.They are going after the young (18-26) freethinking voters as well as the destitute and angry voters. I just found out last night that my younger brother has drunk the koolaid and he believes that we are all racist,thats why were fighting to keep bozo out. I am stunned…….really.
Billie Jo – Glad to “see” you! Are you still collecting links and other stuff for the Action Center, or have you passed the torch to someone else for today?
Anna,
Thanks I checked out the unbroken circles website, but that’s not the info I’m looking for. I’ll get in touch with Elaine though.
You are very right. I’ve heard many stories like that.
Thanks,
I’ve been busy with work and things, and discouraged by many comments here, but after seeing Murphy get things moving last night, I came back more eager than ever to help her and the Puma’s build the action centre.
#26 nhforhillary I mailed mine reply to them about Oprah.
TRISHFROMCANADA- Hi nice to see you again(well not see ya but) I miss reading your post
There are parallels HERE to the DNC as it is now. The only difference is WHO is calling the shots.
Hey Trish!
Thanks BillieJo — wise words.
The ACTION Center is going to be FABULOUS — that was really great work last night.
Hey TrishfromCanada,
I’m so glad your back,I don’t say much,mostly read and give out info but you were missed.
ChristineRI — that is simply not true.
This site is not and never has never been a forum for debate.
It is a forum for political activism, resource gathering and sharing, support, encouragement, and inspiration.
Our goals and agenda were set on Day One — they have not changed.
Political debate forums are rampant on the web. I urge everyone who likes to DEBATE politics to find one of the hundreds of thousands that suits them best.
Or, start your own.
We don’t DEBATE politics at Puma PAC, we DO politics.
Hey Anna, glad to see you too and many thanks for all the resources you provided to the list for the action center. I have a big project for my job that I need to finish by Monday so I passed the links on a Word file to Murphy yesterday and posted at that time I could not be on the blog to continue collecting links.
Once again, thanks for all the tricks up your sleeves.
I’m a literal person and when I first saw it in the blogs, and still see it, it leads me to believe that we leave it blank. I stand by my statement that N.O.T. loses its explanation in the translation by people on the blog, they assume we know what it means…maybe we could say it another way so that precious time doesn’t get wasted discussing it. I’m not the only one, look at the number of times its been discussed. I feel I have a legitimate point. I think we are wasting time.
And my perception is that there has been an undertone of anger or frustration in your postings since Denver, but thats understandable, don’t shoot me because I’m the messager, just letting you know I’ve noticed it. We need to move forward. Did you see the change in last nights thread when people thought we were going to do something? Organize and execute, okay? Be inclusive.
Those are my recommendations for the good of everyone and this blog.
If Nobama wins, good luck reforming the DNC, it will be totally corrupt by the time he is done with it. The reality is that 60 days is precious time and we have to put on our work hats, and get the job done. Get me back a nice puma cat picture or cats drinking margaritas – they were fun and inspiring.
We need to stick together. Let’s move on, but don’t feel you have to defend yourself all the time. That was not my goal.
There are three kinds of people in this world
Those that Talk
Those that Do.
And those that say “what happened?”
I don’t want to be in the last group.
Lets keep adding to the link downstairs.
I will now step out and sit in the sidelines. Keep going PUMA. Welcome, Trish.
Though I will not post anything henceforth, I will certainly read all that you write and expect to turn key points mentioned here into an article I am going to call ‘America – legacy restored or another fallen superpower’ or something similar. I pray for continued well being of the world and particularly where it is needed the most, USA.
Keep going strong, and achieve your objectives.
Amen!
51 StarDust The Islamist terrorist’s proven method of behavior is still subterfuge, subversion and patience. Mohammed Attla and the others who piloted planes on 9/11 culminated YEARS of planning. Some of them actually had to come to the United States, go to school, learn more English, go to Flight school to learn to fly the big planes and God only knows what all else. Is it so inconceivable to think that Barack Obama’s campaign for the POTUS is anything less planned and patiently awaited as it was implemented one little piece at a time?
#64 Anna7000
All I got from the Utah State Dems for the breakfast roll call count was 9 for Hillary, 19 for Obama which coincides with what the voter count was.
ALSO, HERE’S A NEWS TIP FOR UTAHNS. I just discovered that our Salt Lake County Mayor, Peter Corroon (who voted for Obama) is Howard Dean’s cousin. Boy, if that doesn’t make you sick!
Did anyone see about the flags on Foxnews my husband turned on college football in the room I was in and i may have missed it anymore about that????
#111 I heard it has been planned for twenty years…….the ultimate suicide bomber!
#96 Missed posting too.
By the time I read the posts. Bought school clothes, did prowls and calls, and blogs, I had little time to post.
Voices for Hillary/Nothing on Top:
http://blog.hillary-clintons-voice.com/nothing-on-top-1763
I believe in what we are trying to do. But there is a part of me that understands as long as BO has this much control over the DNC nothing will change.
What are our goals? What would we like to see happen within the DNC.
Most of us are protesting the election in way or another.
Some are voting for McCain; some are voting another party; some are staying home and some are writing in Hillary.
What happens after Nov.? Are we still going to push back and demand that the DNC get with the program?
Plan A did not work out so well so what is plan B and C?
I didn’t say anything about debate. ‘Doing’ politics should not mean stifling freedom of speech. As soon as you dictate what can and can not be voiced, you are doing just that.
utahpuma:
I was informed by a delegate from TN who shall remain nameless that the TN delegation got called back after voting because the spread between Obama and Clinton wasn’t large enough. Basically, they were there, until a large enough spread for obama was achieved.
I don’t know any more specifics than that I don’t want to release people’s names. I’m sorry but I am a Democrat and I’m not ratting out people who had to stand their ground in Denver to corruption for them to confide in me and then get some reprucssions for releasing their names on the internet.
So, maybe you can find someone else to talk about what happened with TN delegation.
If I were the delegate, I would say everything, but I’m not. So, I’m going to respect my friends who stood up for me and all voters in Tennessee.
HRC carried this state 53% to 40%
Write in votes are not counted
Unless the race is really close, they don’t bother counting write in votes…yeah, I think C-span had someone on that reavealed this.
MY TWO CENTS ON GOALS AND TACTICS
ASSUMING OUR NEXT SHORT-TERM GOAL IS THE GE AND NO OBAMA
1. Precious few days left before the GE.
2. Bucking against enormous machine.
3. If interested in taking action despite challenges and odds, seems crucial to inform the public.
4. Media best way to inform the public.
5. Media has not seemed to care, but keep trying.
6. Talking with people and distributing fliers also a more person by person, block by block approach.
7. Eliminate all extraneous expressions of anger and frustration that don’t directly relate to how it impacts the GE.
Again, just my 2 cents.
Demforhillary may I add that she got 40 delegates and xo got 18,Before Denver.
Today I noticed something for the very first time, perhaps because I am more aware of this now than ever in my life, PUMApac has made me aware of it. On the Canadian 50 dollar bill there is a picture of a book and its called “Women are People” and a image of the famous five. I think that is so cool. Here’s an explanation and a link to see it:
“Depicted on the $50 note is a representation of the statue of the Famous Five that can be seen on the Olympic Plaza in Calgary, Alberta, and on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. These statues and the new $50 note commemorate the collective achievement of the women known as the Famous Five—Emily Murphy, Nellie McClung, Irene Parlby, Henrietta Muir Edwards, and Louise McKinney—who triumphed in the ‘Persons’ Case, one of the most famous cases in Canadian legal history.
The Famous Five asked the Supreme Court of Canada to declare that women were persons under the British North America Act and, therefore, eligible to be appointed to the Senate. This request was denied. After consultation, and with the full backing of the Government of Alberta and of Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, the five women petitioned the British Privy Council, then Canada’s highest court of appeal. On 18 October 1929, the Privy Council declared that women are, indeed, persons, thus making them eligible to be appointed to the Senate of Canada.”
Dem4Hillary – I have the impression that Ricki Lieberman is collecting stories of what happened at the convention. And I believe many delegates have asked to remain annonymous. Perhaps your delegate friend should contact Ricki who is compiling the stories.
Please let this discussion be done. You have beat it to death and people with this intention know what you have said and have until November to reconsider.
Disagree. There are people in here everyday who are confused/concerned about “leave the top blank”. I don’t see anything wromg with Anna posting a comment about it every 6 hours or so.
Sarah Palin should appear on Tyra Banks or Ellen Degeneras show since both of these women have bypassed Oprah in rating.
Oprah is not so hot anymore, I have boycotted her since June and I will never return to that show.
You are SO RIGHT. I have a gut feeling this is exactly what’s going on. Look at all the corruption surrounding him. There’s too much in question, there’s too much we don’t know.
I have been (not so visible) here since almost the beginning and it has finally sunk in. Murphy is not going to tell anyone how to vote. Of all possibilities – N.O.T. – exists – only not to deny you every opportunity. No one is saying “do it” and no one is saying “don’t”. You know, free will.
Murphy,
One powerful tool used in the sixty’s is the power of boycott. Even today it is regularly mentioned in national finance reports that the American consumer is 2/3 of our economy. This could be used to excellent effect in many ways. Please put it on the back burner if you don’t have time right now to decide how to best use it. It is the one thing we have that can hit the big boys HARD and get some concessions for the American people.
#39,54,67,107 NH I agree with you.
Dances, I wasn’t talking about Anna’s posts. I was talking about the misdirection of the blog in general with that issue being too repetitive.
Got this from HillBuzz blog comment section, no citation, but it relieves me if this is actually a Hillary Camp statement.
“Advisers to Clinton, who has been on vacation this week, said that she stands ready to help the Obama-Biden ticket, but they urged not to overestimate the effect she could have, noting that she had other commitments this fall, like campaigning and raising money for Senate candidates.”
I think it’s like, ya, I’ll help, but chill out.
Murphy, I love and respect you-Thanks for all you do for a bunch of VERY upset people. This is your baby and I think those that give you suggestions realize that. I have decided how to vote this election and it is with a heavy heart that I will not vote for a Dem for Pres. Thanks for that post Trish, I never noticed that image of the Five Women on our Fifty dollar bill, probably because it never lasts long enough in my purse to examine it…..
Imagine we needed the high court in 1929, to declare that women are indeed persons…
Women must never become complacent with their advances, we must be constantly vigilant.
Hopefully the younger female generation will become more aware of the blatant misogynist and become more combative for women’s rights in all aspect of society.
Thanks, kat
What is going to have to guide me through these next few weeks before the general election is an old saying from my Zen exploration days:
If you are going to sit, then sit.
If you are going to stand, then stand.
If you are going to walk, then walk.
Whatever you do—don’t wobble.
If our feelings are true and deeply convinced that BO is absolutely the wrong man at the wrong time, then we must not wobble.
My belief is that an N.O.T. action is of high-risk. It gives the corrupt who may have access to those forms (in some places) an excellent opportunity to pencil in a vote for BO. I won’t take that chance. My vote for Hillary was given away at the convention, and I’m mad as hell.
I will not wobble–I will do my part to take down the BO’s machine, and if innocents suffer along with the fall, it’s the lesson that needs to be learned.
PUMAs, I will continue to support you with my little checks. I will do the prowls I feel I can handle. I will read you every day, but I won’t take a chance EVER again with what I want my vote to say.
#132 Terry-OprahObama lost sooo much viewership when she started campaigning for BO. I never even watched her when she was “hot”. I like Ellen more, but I wonder if Palin would be open to her as a Gay person. I know Conservatives might cause problems for her. That’s an interesting question though it wouldn’t change my opinion of her.
#73 Christine RI
This may be a poor analogy, and goodness knows I would rather be part of the solution than part of the problem but . . .
I run a neighborhood website. I began it about ten years ago as a resource for our neighborhood, which is rather set apart from the town. I maintain links and files regarding zoning policies, etc. We discuss wildlife sightings or problems, internet/cable connections, events of interest, yard sales – basically anything that has to do with our neighborhood. On a couple of occasions over the years, things got out of control with bickering over certain issues. When someone got really offensive, I deleted their posts. If it got really bad, I blocked the person. It’s not an easy thing to do, because these are people I actually see every day. If they complained to me, I explained that they were absolutely free to begin a website that reflected their own vision of the neighborhood.
So far, it has been very successful and most of my neighbors are happy to have the resource available to them. I don’t think it’s about freedom of speech, because we all have that.
But a website is just not the same thing as society in general. Any website basically belongs to someone who has a vision of what it should be, and has the right of ownership to guide it in that direction.
Most of the time it seems to work pretty well.
#136
Thanks, I don’t feel so bad for being the messenger. Now I’m rolling up my sleeves and getting ready to contribute some ideas! PUMAS do you care to help me?
I hope so.
(REVISED new version… *UPDATED* w/latest suggestions)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
WAYS & STRATEGIES TO DEFEAT BO IN NOV.
>> * Points to consider:
– This is (at least now) a very close election, esp. in the critical swing states!
– If BO wins, Hillary’s future presidential hopes likely END.
– A big BO loss will shake awake the DNC, forcing reform… AND will allow Hillary to run & win in 2012!
– A lot of the focus should be on the crucial battleground SWING STATES that will decide this election!!!
– We only have 2 months left!
———————
** POSSIBLE TACTICS & ACTION STEPS: **
• Make phone calls, esp. in swing states… organize phone-banks. – Talk to others (even door-to-door). – Give talks to critical groups. — Help people who are voting against BO get to the polls (on Nov 4) or get their absentee ballots in on time. — Volunteer to poll-watch (on 11-4)
• Distribute flyers, brochures, info-handouts, etc. — Put up flyers/posters all over (esp. where they’ll do most good). — Also: bumper stickers, buttons, yard signs, etc.
• Write Letters to the Editor (newspapers). — Spread Viral Emails. — Forward persuasive articles or links. — Blog and post comments & links in all good Websites (like news-sites) that reach many people (we should list their addresses in the Action Center). – Vote on polls — Start your own Blog or website or submit articles to existing ones — Talk to the press; give TV & radio interviews, etc (like Murphy & Will do). – Contact local media (TV, radio, newspapers) to encourage coverage of whatever can help our cause (& also pass along note-worthy items to them) — Enlighten others about BO and our cause through any effective means & channels!
• Let’s find ways to reach out to key voting blocs that can make a big difference in Nov., such as Latinos, Seniors, young people, HRC-voters, etc… >> Possible means to reach these groups: -Latino & Senior Centers (put/drop flyers, give talks), -publications geared to these groups (put ads, articles, Letters to Editors), -Hispanic radio & TV stations (ads, send newsworthy items), Hispanic food markets (flyers), -College campuses (flyers, give talks, etc).
• Many here agree that the most effective ‘protest’-vote to defeat BO (esp. in swing states) is voting Mac/Palin (though ALL non-BO votes help!). — Inform others RE: effective options & to consider how close the race is in their state… and that writing-in Hillary is NOT advisable in some states, (etc.)
• If you’re voting Mac/Palin, and are enthused enough for them, DO campaign for them; Sign up at their Website to volunteer… & DONATE !!! (they need $$$ to produce those great anti-BO ads, etc)… Help put BO well behind his opponent!!!
• DONATE to (& get active in) PUMApac… — and also DONATE to (& help out) any effective group (such as 527s) working to defeat BO through TV, radio & newspaper ADS, etc (and any JSND group working to defeat BO).
• Let’s compile a running LIST of “Reasons Why You Should NOT Vote For BO”, not only for flyers & handouts, but for anyone to copy & email off (to friends, to undecided Dems, among key groups [translated to Spanish for Hispanics], for “Viral Emails”, etc)
• Visualize lots of RED in the electorate map on Nov. 4… esp. see the critical swing states go red! – Visualize the Mac/Palin win; the cheers, the confetti, etc. – *Then* *SEE* *2012*: Hillary elected president; thanking the cheering crowd, etc.
• We can model a lot of our efforts on effective campaign strategies, except we’re not officially campaigning for someone; we’re campaigning against BO.!!!
>> PLEASE CONTINUE SUBMITTING YOUR THOUGHTS, OTHER IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS AND SPECIFIC *STEPS*. I am compiling another list with more details and actions steps for some of the strategies listed.
** I periodically update, add-to, revise, re-organize and re-post this list… So keep the suggestions coming!
NOTE: I’m still going through suggestions from the last 2 or 3 days, so I will update with those soon… & maybe change the lay-out of list.
I’ve been on vacation and haven’t been here for over a week. I have been watching Fox. After the beating that Palin took over her “good mother” credentials, I believe it is essential that she be elected. I could not believe the sexism rampant in this country. Why can’t a woman run for national office without sneering, belittling comments – attacking her motherhood!
A woman needs to win – NOW!
I would think this blog would appreciate that overriding need. None of us thinks Obama should be President – why then should anyone consider withholding support for a ticket which could finally elevate a woman to the top.
Totally, beats me!
Wonder if Anna read my post about gathering her info?
well my fellow PUMAS,
it is with a heavy heart that i must leave this blog. i am headed for the Repub blogs.
i am all for taking back the Dem. party, but i find myself truly excited about McCain & Palin. After the election i will return. i’ve been a PUMA this long, i will be back to lend a hand when it comes time for us to clean up this mess.
good luck PUMAS, lets win one for America
Hi Pumas… Happy Saturday!! I’m in lurker mode but wanted to add to #138 kat in your hat.
Hillary stated that she would not be an attack cat (actually she said dog) against Gov. Palin.
WHICH BLOGS ARE BEST?
I certainly don’t know which blogs are the better ones to enter comments on…where should we be blogging?
List your suggestions, I bet we all have different ones we go to to thwart the Obots. Share your favorite spots here, even instructions on how to find, enter, and start blogging. We can be effective, if we poll to find the best spots to blog or chatrooms?
Well , this is interesting.
Hey Murphy and fellow Pumas, I’ve got a good idea for a prowl,see what ya’ll think:: What if one of us writes a letter about all of Obamas Muslim ties with web addys for reference,and we take turns and all send a letter to each Pumas local paper,ya know, 1 paper a a time,with a lot of requests.I think that we make a much better statement in NUMBERS,what do ya’ll think?
#154 ClintonRules well my fellow PUMAS,
it is with a heavy heart that i must leave this blog. i am headed for the Repub blogs.
After the election i will return.
———
Good bye ClintonRules – I know you will work hard over there to bring down obie, and we will be working hard to do the same over here. If you are so inclined, please pass on some of the voting fraud info so maybe some of the Republican news media will expose the fraud in this election. If you ever need our help in that area, just ask. Fight on RepubPUMA!
If you see the Dogs, keep going!
I left the blog at one time for an entire hour and cried like a baby, I know it is difficult.
{{{Hugs}}}
I read this in our local paper. Too bad Hillary wasn’t defended as quickly:
“The women of the GOP have been galvanied by the media’s responses to their candidate. “We’re not going to have this foolishness,” said Pennsylvania Republican Deputy Chairwoman Rene Amore. “No we are not.”
‘The Republican Party will not stand by while Sarah Palin is subjected to sexist attacks,’ National Chairwoman Carly Fiorina said Wednesday, singling out particularly the description of Palin as a ‘cheerleader’ by NY Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
The offical party line among Republicans even invokes Hillary Clinton and allegations that Democrats stood by while Clinton was demeaned for being a woman. ‘Let’s just keep it to the issues,’ Fiorina said.”
Trish!!! So happy to see you! I was about to get my mountie uniform and get my horse!
I really dont think we can take back the Democratic Party, I think it is too polluted and too corrupt to change…that it has to be demolished to it can be rebuilt, and demolishing doesn’t come by votig out a couple of senators and congressman, If you add clean water to dirty water, the clean becomes dirty.
It needs a new party for the untainted people to move to.
Just my opinion.
# 158 There are so many to list.
You must have a strong constitution to blog at Huffington Post. I’ve nearly been eaten alive over there on a few occasions, but it’s well read, and at least you’re not wasting your time preaching to the choir.
I have a file of offensive posts directed at me there – not a pretty read!
This is very important, could you please gather the url links and possibly make up a potential prowl and send it to Murphy?
I remember seeing somewhere that Obie also worked at one time in voter registration drives, so he has a background of loopholes, and has proven it in this election.
#158 nhforhillary
I’m not sure it is in our best interest to chase maniacal obots around the blogosphere, although we have and will on ocassion, when a PUMA mentions particularly vile commentary. As far as the anti-puma sites, most of us just ignore /boycott them… including NOT posting their URLs.
I think our time, especially since it is only weeks from the election, is better spent targeting our email to those who we can effect. Ref: Last night’s “work party” blog.
Thanks Kat. I’m gathering up resources posted on this blog and will forward to Murphy.
MURPHY — Let me know what you think of my latest LIST (on “Ways to Defeat BO”, #151 above), and how to make it effective in PumaPac (perhaps integrate it or aspects of it into the Action Center?)… I’ll keep revising & re-posting it as I gather more suggestions.
(Email me if you want.)
To all PUMAs: When offering suggestions, ideas and action steps, please put a topic line on your post (like “RE: WAYS TO DEFEAT BO”) or put my username (LandiPUMA) on it, to help me in my searches. [I can still catch a lot of related posts, even without subject headings or directing them to me… I’m just making a suggestion that would help this project]
#165 Kelligesq, I agree, it seems there were alot more against Hillary then for her at that convention, and they did not mind shoving their cheating in our face. The real question is can they be stopped if they are cheating right in our faces? And why didn’t Hillary and Bill fight back,we would have supported them with everything we have and I believe honest men and women democrats would have as well(gov)?
# 168:
Well, it’s your list and also Murphy’s list at the top.
Other reasons (for me) include: Obama’s inexperience; his poor record; his connections to corrupt politicians; and also anti-American organizations (and alllll those horrible associations); the fact that Obama has still not been truly vetted or tested; how Obama used the media (not vet him, protect and promote him, attacking Hillary, hiding the truth); Obama’s negative campaign: making personal attacks / character attacks on Hillary et al; pulling the race card; accusations of racism toward Geraldine Ferraro, Hillary and Bill, and ALL their supporters; the fact that the Obama camp succeeded due to constant sexism and disrespect toward Hillary; moving the DNC headquarters to Chicago–even way before the convention; Michelle’s comments (can’t take care of her own house, how can she take care of the White–she just can’t do it, and I’ll have to think about voting for Hillary if she wins, etc etc); Obama voting for FISA and Cheney’s Energy Bill; Obama’s PATHOLOGICAL LYING and COVER UPS about every single aspect of his life!!!
I could really go on and on.
Obama will NEVER be an option for me.
Dances – Sorry. Not ignoring you. Thanks for offering to scoop up stuff. A crisis just fell into my life. You may want to go back to yesterday’s thread and start checking for links and other helpful stuff after post #175. I beleive that’s where Billie Jo left off. I also sent Murphy a few documents yesterday. Not sure what, if anything, she intends to do with them. I’ll reconnect when I can. Life, in another form, just happened. Gotta go.
((((((((((((((((((((MURPHY))))))))))))))))))))))
I admire your Call to Action and attempt to get the PAC back on track.
I am CONFUSED however as to which is the case:
A) Are we now re focusing to continue to REFORM the “old” (un) democratic party???
OR as stated in a recent blog of your’s
B) Are we starting the NEW democratic party??? And if so have we named it, defined it, discussed and set the platform, discussed how to recruit people,short term and long term goals….????
***********************************
I think this makes a HUGE difference in what we put our attention and energies to in prowls etc.
Maybe you can help me with my confusion.
I have forwarded this email message to HRC:
Dear Sen. Clinton,
As an ardent admirer and supporter I respectfully beg that you do not comply with the request of Barack Obama’s campaign to confront Sarah Palin in political or any other form of debate. It would diminish your stature and that of women in general while raising Sarah’s, as I’m sure you already understand. Sarah’s candidacy moves women’s political influence forward and in no way diminishes love and support for you, in my opinion. Please enjoy her achievements as I have enjoyed yours. I look forward to joining with you in your future endeavors,
“Real Democrats” is a website that’s interesting, their goal is to distribute opposition research on Obama in all 50 states. They have a join up form for groups.
I checked out some links on their site and found these flyers:
Just my opinion, but Black Liberation Theology (BLT) is where Obama is weakest. Look at the other Democrats – in DNC leadership roles – who also promote it, e.g. Rev. Daughtry. BLT is linked directly to Marxists and radical Muslims…
Just joined, so I am finding my way around the site.
I can recommend Newslink http://newslink.org has a good comprehensive site for contacts on all media.
I am glad to be here.
karmi..why hasn’t this important information been reported to the public???
Murphy #13:
No more campaigning for McCain. No more telling Pumas HOW to vote for President.
and Murphy # 71:
Of course you have a right to talk about McCain/Palin politically-Just not here.
O.K., I get what you said and that today is the last day to speak about it.
We all agree that we must do whatever we can to ensure BOs defeat.
The most effective way to do so is with our vote.
In my opinion the Democratic Party is so hell-bound to get their candidate elected that they will continue on course despite our actions.
The leadership of the DNC is destined to self-implode after defeat on Nov. 4th. That is when we may see our actions bring about a true Democratic Party.
Again, IMO.
TRISH:
My heart skipped a beat when I saw your name. I was considering leaving, except for the prowls, because the people who always acknowledge and were kind to me had left. That being Trish, Anderson and Alucard who was especially kind to me. Now that I see you are back being yourself I wont leave, perhaps just not spending hours upon hours reading all the posts. I left a message for you a number of threads back asking you to please come back and that if you had left because of comments made by others, you should remember that agents of change always open themselves up to hateful and unwarranted criticism.
Also, I appreciated your story of the brave and courageous five. It was interesting and informative.
I really like this strategy.
Thanks for the read, Rosalind.
I don’t know about other Pumas, but my number one goal is to make sure that Obie does not get into the White House. If that means emails, faxes, letters to the editors, handing out flyers to seniors, vets, single moms, etc., then that’s what I intend to do on a daily basis with the time I have for this.
Not sure; however, so far, MSM doesn’t like to report negative news about Obama. BLT is clearly a racist doctrine, and yet they are quick to call anyone who ‘threatens’ Obama’s candidacy a “racist”…perhaps MSM fears being labeled “racist”?
#219 Rosalind – I just read that and it’s an excellent strategy. Just before i read that, i read an AP article about how the Democrats are registering huge numbers of new voters, which is very concerning. In some areas in PA, they are going door-to-door signing people up. These people are serious about getting every vote they can and they are doing it. We need to combat this and it’s not enough to say we won’t vote for BO. We need more of what we will do, preferably in a united action.
#219 That is the best explanation I’ve read. You should post that straight up so everyone can read it. I just don’ t know if that’s permissable or not.
Anyway…thanks!
“Reasons why you should not vote for Obama”
Caucus Fraud committed by Obama supporters
-Intimidation
-Voting multiple times
-Busing people into other towns to vote
-Votes exceeding the number of registered voters
-Paying for votes
Lack of Experience
Poor Record
Breaking his promises to voters
-Fisa (fourth amendment rights)
Connections to corrupt politicians and anti-American organizations
-William Ayers – Terrorist, bombed NY police dept, Pentagon, Capital building. (Admits he did it, got off on technicality)
Hi Trish – Noticed you were not around after I published my bit on the judge training I took on Thursday – I did post on the thursday thread but don’t remember which one it was. The 2008 Election Judge Guide is 68 frickin’ pages – I will be on judging duty Tuesday, Sept 9 for the beauty contest primary for Minnesota – I expect the turnout will be very low – it’s mostly to eliminate (vote down to a single candidate from each party) for senator, representatives, judges, etc. Primary is strictly partisan. However, the General Election is open so I will be able to write in Hillary or whomever I want – Murphy? You or any other PUMA? vote will be against cupcake………………………..
Any info you would like – let me know – glad you’re back…..
#219 Rosalind – good post
Murphy – maybe we should make that post a thread note – it does a good explanation of what we’re trying to accomplish………………….
#57 – Write in ……
I’m in Connecticut. I thought I would write Hillary in on my ballot, but have learned that doing so (in CT), my vote would go to the IMPOSTER – because I am still registered as Democrat.
Please be careful about ‘writing in’ Hillary. Not all states have the same rules. It would be better (safer) to vote Third Party, if either of the other two is not palitable! DO NOT LEAVE THE TOP BLANK!!!!
Just MHO…….
KEEP THE FAITH
Alrighty then!!
Snagged all the links and boycotts, and and from last night’s blog.
Susie — yes — that’s why I asked Rosalind.
I need to get in touch with the author of Practical Democrat to get permission for cross-posting.
Hi Murphy,
I copied all the links and other Action Center oriented stuff from comment #150 on, from last’s night’s work partyy blog.
I’ll have to organize it somewhat before forwarding to you via email.
There are people not able to get in. I couldn’t and don’t ask me how i did this time. The red link to click on for the last one talking has not been working
I used to have that problem too. I discovered that you have to open the actual blog before clicking on a commenter’s name, etc.
Hi ((((Trish ))) good to see you girl. We have missed you
I did and so did Blue Blus Gal and we were talking to ourselves lol
I wonder if there is any way to eliminate the word ‘racist’ from our vocabulary. It’s such a hate-filled word and it’s getting to where it seems like it’s ok for anyone who is a member of the Human Race to use it on everyone else. And it’s totally defeating to any concept of Unity.
Practical Democrat gives great expalnation of the “weighted” voting strategy that Cynthia Rucci has been talking about for months now.
GO PUMAS!!
I just scrolled up and the only name you can click on is Murphy’s so it is still not working
Hi Pumas
Looking forward to the new Action Center. Thanks to everyone that have been working on it.
As long as we live in a racist world, I think the term is necessary. I’d rather eliminate racism than its descriptor. It’s only when the likes of obama, and the ignorant ones of his minions, toss it around haphazardly and manipulatively, that it becomes cheapened and non-effective. The damage that obama has rendered is a real shame. A crying shame, even.
I lived in Arizona for 18 years, and voted across party lines for McCain each election, because he was honest and did what he said he would. I was ready to vote for him against Obama (because I WON’T vote for Obama NO WAY, NO HOW). But over the past two days, I am reconsidering voting for McCain.
I was watching John Stewart last night, and they showed a clip of McCain’s acceptance speech and then would splice in a segment from Bush’s 2000 acceptance speech. On education, changing Washington, reducing taxes, and including Democrats and Independents in their cabinets- the two candidates said the SAME THING almost word-for-word. Also, they showed statements by McCain from 2000 to 2008. On one issue, Roe v. Wade, in 2000 McCain stated something to the effect that personally he was against abortion, but that Roe v. Wade should be upheld. In 2006, he stated that Roe v. Wade was wrong and needed to be overturned.
With this irrefutable information from this unlikely source, and with the information that Sarah Palin has extreme religious views and belongs to the Pentacostal church, is a Creationist, and is unashamedly for drilling oil in the Alaskan protected preserves (Drill, baby, drill), and anti-choice for women’s reproductive rights. Therefore, I cannot vote for the McCain/Palin ticket either.
I cannot write-in Hillary Clinton for President in New Mexico, so I am going to vote for Ralph Nader. Some think he was a spoiler in 2000 (hurting Al Gore), so maybe he will be a spoiler this election also. I cannot cast a protest vote for someone who I think could be just as dangerous as Obama, or even more so. So this is my decision. If you do not feel comfortable voting for McCain, I agree with going for third-parties. Cynthia McKinney is running on the Green Party ticket. Not only did she NOT vote for the Iraq war, she actually WAS a senator and able to vote when it occurred..
I agree with you on this one. We can’t stay home and pray to eliminate BO opportunity to be President. McCain is the only solution to beat BO and have our votes counted.
Sorry, Puma, I am not with you on this one, but I do support your other actions.
Thank you for poting the information, I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions but what do you mean by vote down people? Is that like voting them off the island?
Someone should remind him there is always a third place
#231 nhforhillary
What about the number of times he voted “present”
(don’t recall the number, maybe someone else does);
What about being head of the committee on Afghanistan and never holding a meeting;
What about getting federal funding for housing, then left the tenants with rats and no electricity
What about saying he voted against the war in Iraq,
but wasn’t even in office at the time to even vote for or against it
Can’t think of anymore right now.
Information for the Action Center
Since Michigan is a swing state in the election and it
was victimized by the DONC’s delegate punishment policy, we may want to write letters to the editor of Michigan newspapers.
His association
One of Puma friend I met in Denver told me he signed a legislature to build a nuclear plant in Washington on an earthquake zone. McCain, Hillary and John Edward didn’t sign it. I am looking on the internet for more detail.
He mismanaged and corrupted in his district in IL.
Someone should remind him that there is no second place.
You win or YOU LOSE!
James Cone (basically the founder of BLT):
“It is important to make a further distinction here among black hatred, black racism, and Black Power. Black hatred is the black man’s strong aversion to white society. No black man living in white America can escape it…But the charge of black racism cannot be reconciled with the facts. While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism. Racism, according to Webster, is ‘the assumption that psychocultural traits and capacities are determined by biological race and that races differ decisively from one another…”
It’s almost like Whoopi and the n-word, i.e. blacks can use it but not whites. BLT is powerful…powerful enough to let/make Rev. Wright and TUCC take the fall for Obama.
Anyone think it would be useful to point out that Obama has never won a dair election?
He was stuggling to get in, and when Alice Palmer? decided to run for higher office, he agreed to take her place and promised he would vacate it if Alice lost or changed her mind. Alice changed her mind, and Obama went back on his word.
In the election, he was running against Alice and a few other candidates, and got them all disqualified right before the election (so they had no time to make corrections) on a technicality that they did not have enough signatures on their nominating petitions. Obama ran unopposed.
When he ran for Senate, his Primary opponent I think was Blair Hull. Hull would have killed him in the primary. Right before the election, Hull’s sealed divorce files started secretly leaking to the press (Chicago Tribune). Hull was smeared to the point where his stock dropped like a rock. Obama’s campaign guru was David Axelrod. Axelrod worked 8 years for the Tribune before he became Daley’s political guy.
In the general Senate election, Obama was up against Jack Ryan. Ryan had a ton of money, and was about to spend Obama into the ground. Again. a little before the election, the Chicago Trubune got Ryan’s divorce papers in California unsealed (the sex club allegations). Ryan was toast, and the Republicans made him withdraw. Obama won in a cakewalk against I think Alan Keyes.
Then there is the 2008 election. There is an article I read a while ago (American Thinker?) about Obama’s tactics against Hillary in South Carolina. Obama was pressuring delegates by threatening them that his team would run someone against them in their next primary. Of course, there was all the payoffs that were reported here alast week to the superdelegates.
The guy has cheated his way into office at every step of the way. What he did to Hillary was despicable, and what he did to Alice Hastings shows he will never keep his word.
If anyone thinks this is useful, I’ll go and see if I can find those links and post them here.
Let me know.
I just reread what was written at the top of this blog and for me not once but three times it is stated to leave it blank,I believe when they count the votes,by leaving it blank,they will look down the ticket and say look they voted dem here so they meant to vote dem on top,it will then become a vote for obama,imo it should just be stated no one here is voting for obama,pretty simple………I WANT MY VOTE TO COUNT,BUT NOT FOR HIM!
Hello all new here
ACTION ALERT — EMAIL HILLARY AND ASK HER NOT TO ATTACK GOV. PALIN
I just got this email today from Clinton Dems http://www.clintondems.com
They must have read my mind — Last night I posted a request here for a prowl doing exactly this:
ACTION ITEM
Please contact Hillary Clinton and let her know that you do not want to see her jump into a media mud-wrestling contest with Sarah Palin as has been suggested by so many Obama loyalists.
This would be offensive on so many levels and will add nothing positive to the debate. A backlash against her would certainly ensue. Please encourage Hillary to keep comments relevant to McCain’s policies only. After all, he is the one running for President.
To all reporters of the American news media,
I am outraged that during this 2008 election our media has become so bias in their reporting, only following the directive goals of the corporations they work for, that they no longer report nor investigate the news for the American people.
Voters do not learn the facts from our reporters; they pick a side and get the sound bites that are fed to them.
Meanwhile, the United States is facing another election of corruption that boggles the mind to most of the insiders that have seen it for themselves. Delegates are afraid to speak out for fear of exposing the truth and loosing their position in the Democratic Party. Votes have been stolen, caucuses have been manipulated
http://www.lynettelong.com/CAUCUSFRAUD/
rules have been changed by the DNC to install the least qualified candidate and this has been accomplished by a few people in the name of Democracy.
Does our country have any real reporters still on the job or have they been replaced by actors that pretend to report the news? Are the American voters being led like lemmings to the edge of the Democratic cliff and will there be retribution from the rest of the world for us not standing up against corruption before it is too late?
Is there a real reporter like Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein who is willing to risk their reputation and do the real research to make sure ‘Democracy’ in this election is just not a politically correct word for political corruption? How can the voters trust that their ONE vote has any real meaning when it is possible that the election can be manipulated by few that have the money to buy their way into the Whitehouse?
I challenge you as a reporter to read this article that is posted on the internet, possibly download it before it is scrubbed off of the internet, and check this person’s facts, there are many news article links to back up their article. I did not write this, I only wish I had a news reporter I could trust to find out and expose the truth of the information in this article.
This could be the smoking gun of this election.
Please stand up for the American voters and investigate the facts of this article for us!
http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html
I also have a digital copy of the original of this in .pdf format if it gets removed off of the internet, given to me by a concerned voter that did not write the article.
The American public will thank you and I will thank you for being an honest reporter and not a political puppet. Just remember, if you choose not to take the time to read this, or report on it, YOUR vote in our elections will be as worthless as my vote and you may let corruption replace Democracy because you were too afraid to do your job.
Thank you for your time.
xxxx
Here is the last line of my message to Hillary asking her not to take on Gov. Palin directly:
“There has been enough mud slinging in this election — most notably against YOU — and we who still support you do not want to see women being pitted against each other in order to get men elected.”
Hi TRISH –
It warms my heart to see you back. I was so disheartened in reading that you and several other of my favorite posters had left. I had been away from time to time recently and had not been keeping up with the posts —- I did not have a clue what was going on – so many left within a short period of time!
I have noted, however, a lot of ego and posturing going on, and knew that was not YOUR issue! You see, I’ve been a follower/admirerer of yours from the BEGINNING. I had to find out, so I went back to read the posts for the last week or so.
I read and immediately understood what you had to say about being angry with the Repubs – they took away the best thing this country had and desperately needs – Hillary. Who cares what they do to the IMPOSTER now? We do, but……… Of all the reasonings posted here of who and what, I think you make a LOT of sense. We’ve come such a long way in such a short period of time – that’s because there are so many smart, wonderful, feeling people who have built the foundation to this site.
I think the problem (if I may) was, that people are sometimes so full of themselves, they don’t know, or care, to REALLY LISTEN (and understand) what others have to say. IMHO!!!!
I was one of the first to join PUMA PAC – it saved my sanity. I am so grateful to all of you and MURPHY – your contributions have been invaluable. They still are, as MOST of my friends have drunk the kool aid. THANK YOU!
Again, I just wanted to let you know that it’s good to see you back – please don’t leave again. If there’s a way, and you have any influence, tell the others to COME ON BACK, TOO. Their contributions are sorely missed.
KEEP THE FAITH
#276 NYCgirl first I heard on here and the TV she is not going to attack her but go after McCain , second why , she doesn’t listen to anything we say anyways,or else she would be Democrat nominee had she listened to us she would not have went out on the stump for him for the Unity tour. I don’t know don’t listen to me I’m just fed up with not knowing what to do anymore and where I should go and not knowing what i can and can’t say. Sorry.
I was just posting that alert which I received from the ClintonDems. And I had also requested last night that PUMA Pac should do a prowl along those lines.
I can understand your frustration in thinking that Hillary’s not hearing us. I happen to think that she DOES hear us, and that is why I believe it is still worth it to voice our opinions to her. But I do understand that you are “fed up” with the whole “unity” joke. We ALL are. That’s why we are PUMAs!
Keep the faith, slyt2. We are with you.
MSM is just totally out of control—even Fox. None of them are worth the time it takes to turn them on and off. And to think how much money these people make just sitting there talking and trying to influence how we think—as if we are incapable of doing it for ourselves.
Thank you, I hope they return as well, I think they will after they’ve had a break and rest a bit. I’m delighted that Murphy, Mama and Maryland has put it back on track, I truly admire the work they do and their calmness. I know I definitely don’t have as much patience as they do.
Ref. 155 LandiPuma…..
I am pleased to see your latest suggestions.Time is of the
essence to gather in all the hurt and disenfranchised supporters, who are perhaps waiting to do something against all the dishonesty and treachery that has been perpetrated against them.
You mention Hispanics and the very important group of students and young people, two others you might consider for inclusion…Native Americans against Obama and the Jewish sector against Obama.There are probably others, that I might not be aware of…
One final comment, because of the history of the leadership/Nominee it would be foolhardy to leave the top of the ballot blank…Sad to say it would be completed in absentia on your behalf.
For those who cannot support Senator McCain, it would be better and more prudent to “spoil” the vote by submitting any name on the top of the form like
“Mr G.Bush “or an alternative …accidentally of course.
I look forward to your next update…
Good fortune, Shane, Ireland
PRO-CHOICE
CHOICE means CHOICE. Roe v Wade will remain and women should not be critized for WHATEVER choice they make. Today I got an Obama mailer ad about the need to vote for him to protect women’s rights… I am Pro-choice but I am frustrated with the Dems pulling out the ABORTION card. Desperation and Hypocrisy. I threw the thing away.
I blog over there and they’re great. Also, the blog and Action Alerts from Clintondems.com are terrific. We have plenty of company.
Great ideas and suggestions Everyone — thank you thank you for all the cooperative work since last night.
I’ll be spending tomorrow collecting all of the links for the ACTION Center and the Ideas for PROWLS.
Also, as per several Pumas’ suggestion, I’ve changed the name of our Protest effort from Nothing on Top for Democrats to
NOTHING ON TOP FOR OBAMA, or
N.O.T. for OBAMA 2008
Much better and more clear that way. also funnier.
New post up — feel free to repost comments.
Take it upstairs!
Oh, WOW, Murphy, Gloria is going to be an AWESOME guest on the radio show.
Now I am excited! I can’t wait to hear what she has to say.
Here is a piece of info for people considering leaving the top of the ticket blank-
In my town (Scottsdale) there was just a rather heated and contentious primary for mayor. It appears as if the incumbent did not quite make it but she is insisting on a run-off. They were looking at ballots where the choice for mayor was left blank and then interpreting how the voter would have voted based on that! (and this is a freaking primary!)
And we all remember Florida.
No way am I leaving my ballot blank and risking some idiot interpreting whom I “should” have selected.
Please carefully consider if that is what you want to do…
I will not state the name of the candidate for whom I am going to vote in light of Murphy’s request…
I have a friend who lives in Colorado and she attended the Bonanza charade in Denver with the other 84,000. I asked her why she went, her answer surprised me. She said it’s a once in a lifetime event so why not go. She’s not supporting him, now I wonder how many others went there with the same thought.
Btw, she laughs at me because i can name the members of the DNC, lol see being a Puma has taught me something.
is right.
It’s like having a business plan – there isnt one here for short term and long term – it’s kind of flying by seat of pants,..If there’s a long term goal – and you;re not successful in the short term goal, you still know what your next step is to take on your road to the long term goal.
So what that means is, both the short term goals and long term goals have to be defined.
Otherwise everybody falls apart when the first short term goal fails – they dont know what to move on to.
Billie Jo,
About the law bobo supposedly authored with Schumer,
about how to defeat intimidation at the polls (HAHHAH)
I dont know how we’d make that into a prowl cause it’s extensive information, would have to take research to make it into bullet points – you know that that ACORN he was associated with is supposedly all over the country and registered 400,000 voters for an election. So there is more than one place to research.
He just used that Acorn in this election and I remember reading in the last 2 days (I dont know where) that he changed its use to suit himself……(the frauds) I’ll have to try to find it again.
HEY,
INSTEAD OF PUTTING ALL THE WASHINGTON DC 202 NUMBERS , I LISTED AT LEAST 5 800 NUMBERS TO CALL THE CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD AND ASK FOR THE CRITTER’S OFFICE.
WHY SHOULD WE PAY TWICE BY CALLING A 202 NUMBER?
Bessides its more likely people will participate if they dont have to pay for the call – dont you agree ?
I have two more comments and then I have to go to rest –
1) I dont see why people who are voting for McCain have to leave. This blog encouraged them to do that to keep
the slithering beast from gaining the WH – and now we tell them they’re not welcome cause they’re voting for McCain? – that doesn’t mean they’re not PUMAS. They’re doing it for PUMAS
AND you know I have been a big promoter of WriteHillaryIn.com which I started out with – and still go there as well as Clinton dems – but after the investigating PROWLLAND and I have done and found out about Obama – I’d vote for that guy who was caught in the bathroom in Minneapolis (with a wide stance-llololo) to keep bobo out of the WH.
I’m now voting for McCain and Pallin and I’m not going anywhere either. thwap!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
2)Just had very interesting conversation with the black man who helps me with shutters and stuff occasionally.
He’s in Real Estate and is known in the black community. Nice man. He worked with me on Kerry-Edwards and we worked like heck – even though we didnt like Kerry. That’s when we were both good democrats. He says nobody is down at the office working for bobo. Tsk
He doesn’t understand where bobo came from and what has happened. Nobody he talks to understands. The black community here, he says, wanted Hillary, even for
veep. He also says nobody in his community is voting for
bobo. Except the kids , (the newly registered kids). He wont vote for McCain – he’s in Real Estate and blames the downturn on GWB – and is afraid Mc is another like Bush. Couldnt convince him. He’s going to stay home and not vote.
That doesnt help us counteract the kids American Idol voting if all the black mature people stay home. The kids are known to stay home even though they say they’ll vote. I think 20% of them do vote is the statistic. If our 30% falls below , it’s going to be an awful close race.
We have to get our 50-% or more of Hillary voters back –
That has to be a major undertaking. GET OUR HILLARY VOTERS BACK AGAINST BOBO.
did you get my email ?
Hello my fellow PUMAs:
I’ve been reading for the past several days, and see good things and bad things; and is understandable.
We all are trying to figure out -after the Demockery in Denver, where do we go from here -introspective process. Ant it may takes a little longer for several reasons.
1. We can not ignore that we women, all over the world and through history -regardless of race, faith and status; have always been oppresed, represed and abused.
Remeber HRC words in Bejing: Women’s rights are Human rights.
2. We can not ignore that the two party system is failing us due to the corruption that has become systemic.
3. We can not ignore that since 2000, one person-one vote has been dragged down the toilet.
This is just for starters. Before, we had a very clear common goal. We wanted and still want HRC as our President, and that kept us focus and united.
I saw couple of days ago, a goal for NOBAMA and I thought it was sound. To go on the attack of his persona and so-call accomplishments is easy…
Then, I saw a positive response for Gov. Palin and I was very happy that -as a gender, we were supportive and non-partisan.
When it comes to Protesting the Election and how to go about it, has presented subjectivity and potential backfire. Due to the practicality of overseeing the voting process when we actually don’t want to vote for OBAMA and leaving blank ballots.
Register voters. but don’t want them to vote the Top.
????
It’s been Murphy’s movement and I respect whatever she feels this place ought to be.
Just my 5 cents, let’s keep working on the next steps. We want to bring unity to our cause, no dissent.
I usually come to this blog to check on how I can help in the efforts to keep Obama from getting into the White House. My main reasons are the DNC’s egregious acts , mysogyny, blatant vote stealing, caucus fraud, Obama’s inexperience and my belief he is seeking the Presidency for self ambition.
I don’t have time to read every blog so I am confused to what sort of bickering or personality clashes are going on. I am also confused on whether or not we can mention McCain or Palin’s name. It would be hard not to and continue this fight. I have never voted Republican, but I am willing to do so this year out of protest. I know there are a lot of people willing to vote for McCain and a lot that feel better for voting for a third Party. I ,too feel like leaving a ballot blank may lead to fraud, but I thought everyone here sort of accepted the three options on the table and each of us was working with that frame work.
I guess what I am asking is it ok to refer to McCain as long as were not advocating his policies or campaigning for votes for him? Can we express how which one of the three ways we are approaching the vote as long as we are not asking others to do the same?
I see a lot of people out here in Oakland, CA working for the Obama Campaign. Mostly kids on street corners with flyers. Not to worry some, since it’s a given that California will go to Obama, anyway.
determinedinNM, I am sorry you feel that way. This is the last day I can say this on this site, but I will say it once again, then leave. Your vote will not count very much except in your own mind if you vote for a third party candidate, no matter who that person is or what party. I guess you know that.
I understand the fears, and the issues with conscious. Really, I’ve experienced the same.
I don’t agree with a lot of things with McCain and Palin, but I think they are trust worthy. I think they can listen and learn. I think they will work well with others in government to bring about good changes. I think they care more about the overall good for America than they do for their own issues.
With BO, I don’t see any of those possibilities. He has an agenda, he has been groomed for this by the leadership and money of people who do not have the best interests of the U.S. or it’s citizens, and he is bought and paid for, without the personal responsibility to do anything other than push the agenda he has been working for these past 20+ years.
My vote has to count.
Best wishes to all of you. I’ll turn to the other forums. Good luck in all of your efforts.
“Reasons why you should not vote for Obama”
Caucus Fraud committed by Obama supporters (primaries)
• Intimidation
• Voting multiple times
• Busing people into other towns and states to vote
• Votes exceeding the number of registered voters
• Paying for votes
Lack of Experience
• 143 days in the United States Senate
• Foreign policy experience
• No Executive experience (hasn’t run a business, town, or state, nothing, nada)
• Community organizing (going door to door to register voters for ACORN)
Has NEVER stood his ground when it wasn’t politically expedient.
• Obama gave an Anti-war speech to gain the support of the big money people in Chicago
Poor Record
• Voted “present” 129 times in the State Senate on controversial issues. (indecisive)
• Worked to remove asbestos with limited success, still remains uncompleted to this day.
• Claims credit for welfare reform in Chicago that helped to put steel workers back to work, but it was a Republican bill that President Bill Clinton signed into law and that Obama voted against!
• Asked for a million dollar earmark for his wife’s employer (she received a $200,000 raise)
• Secured 100’s of millions of dollars earmarks for private developers like Rezko resulting in failed housing projects that were rat infested, no electricity, sewerage and crime ridden, and uninhabitable forcing the government to take them over. (boston globe grim beginnings link)
• Voted in the state senate for gun control and refused to crack down on gangs. Obama helped create the situations where crime in 2008 escalated to about 30 shootings in a week.
• Chairman of the Foreign Relations subcommittee on European affairs, which he has neglected, not having once held a meeting. Countries like Georgia were his responsibility.
Broken campaign promise
• Fisa (fourth amendment rights)
Highly questionable religious connections
• Former pastor Rev. Wright “God D*mn America! America caused 9/11 and AIDs.
• Black Liberation Theology (black supremacy)
Connections to corrupt politicians, and Anti-American Organizations
• William Ayers – Terrorist – Bombed NY police station, Pentagon, Capital building in 70,71,72. People died. (He got off on technicality caused by FBI procedural mistake)
• Tony Rezko – Arab developer convicted in Chicago for money laundering and other crimes. Helped Obama find his Chicago Mansion and bought a piece of the property through his wife, whom subsequently sold a piece back to Obama.
!!!! Lt. Columbo on the missing documents !!!!
Excuse me Mr. Obama, I mean Senator Obama, sir. Um . . . know you are busy and important and stuff. I mean running for president is very important and . . . ah . . . I hate to bother you. I will only take a minute ok, sir?
See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out. You know, no big deal, just some loose ends and things.
Hey, you have a nice place here! The wife sees houses like this on TV all the time and says boy she wishes she had digs like this you know? Is that painting real? Really? Wow. I saw something like that in a museum once!
Oh, sorry sir. I didn’t mean to get off the track. So if you could just help me out a minute and give me some details, I will get right out of your way. I want to close this case and maybe take the wife to Coney Island or something. Ever been to Coney Island ? No, I didn’t think so. . .
Well, listen, anyways, I can’t seem to get some information I need to wrap this up. These things seem to either be ‘locked’ or ‘not available’. I’m sure it’s just some oversight or glitch or something, so if you could you tell me where these things are . I . . . have them written down here somewhere . . . oh wait. Sorry about the smears. It was raining out. I’ll just read it to you.
Could you help me please find these things, sir?
#158..I agree with u totally, but u should not leave this blog we need everyone to stay with the puma’s. I am black american and voting for the republican party for the first time in my life and my families. We realize it is about country not party and to vote for a candidate you know is a fraud and not qualified is being brain dead. After what the party did to Hillary, women in general and that joke of a roll-call at the converntion my family would abstain from voting before helping the crooked leaders of the DNC. Even though it is the republican party, we believe that McCain is a moderate and we know that he always respected Hillary. Also, age mellow people and we believe McCain really wants to do right by all people. Another issue is total control breeds corruption. We need checks and balances in the whitehouse. We had a republican president and a republican congress, and there were no checks and balances. So, so this is an important issue and for that reason we have several reasons to keep Obama out of the whitehouse. Plus he scares us, not vetted, no paper trail of his past responsiblities and is disrespect to Hillary until he feels he needs her. But everyone owns their own vote
Dear fellow PUMA members…
I just crafted the following, and it will run INTACT within the next 14 days in PRINT MEDIA in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maine, and New Jersey for starters. By print media, I am referring to established well known regional daily newspapers.
As I said last week on some material I wrote, and posted here on PUMApac.org, all PUMA folks are welcome to take this, put your name on, and send it in to your local regional papers. I am referring to getting this into papers from Seattle to Key West, from San Diego to Caribou Maine. Get this out there.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
A PLAN THAT I CAN BELIEVE IN. Read on please.
On November 4th, Election Day, I will join millions of fellow Americans in “splitting” my vote. For President and Vice President, I will be voting for John McCain, and Sarah Palin. For congressional contests, both at the national level, and the state level, I will be voting for the Democratic Party nominee.
I am a strong supporter of the principals of the Democratic Party. We must continue to build up the strength of the Democratic majority in both the U.S. Senate, and House of Representatives.
Through this entire Presidential primary campaign journey, I was an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton. I felt she was the best qualified to be our next President. I was writing excellent material (as a volunteer) with excellent specifics in support of her candidacy for both on-line media, and print media all over the country, in whatever state was next to vote.
We came “close”. But, there was a flaw in the election process in that the voters who voted in Florida and Michigan did not have their votes counted, at the time of their vote. This allowed the non-elected “super-delegates” to come out of the woodwork, and follow the swooning masses in pledging their some 350-400 votes to Barack Obama. It was a close race to begin with, and the Hillary Clinton team couldn’t overcome that.
Also this primary election season should not have been race, but the Obama campaign brought that up. First, was early on in South Carolina, and then just recently when Mr. Obama reminded all Americans he didn’t look like all the other presidents on the dollar bills.
In my opinion, Mr. Obama can be a likable person, probably in the same way he once referred to Hillary Clinton in public, as “she’s likable enough”.
To my immediate subject, I have excerpted the flowing specific quotes from Mr. Obama’s recent acceptance speech on August 28th before 80,000 people in the Mile High Stadium in Denver, and that included an estimated 38 million viewers on TV, as he spoke between these two large grey styrofoam columns that came from “central staging” someplace.
From the speech: (A) “I will eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and the start-ups that will create the high-wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow”. (B) “I will cut taxes for 95 percent of all working families”. (C) “I will set a clear goal as president: in 10 years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East”. (D) “I will tap our natural gas reserves, invest in clean coal technology, and find ways to safely harness nuclear power”. (E) “I’ll help our auto companies retool, so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here in America. I’ll make it easier for the American people to afford these new cars”. (F) “And I’ll invest $150 billion over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy — wind power and solar power and the next generation of biofuels; an investment that will lead to new industries and 5 million new jobs that pay well and can’t ever be outsourced”. (G) “I’ll recruit an army of new teachers, and pay them higher salaries and give them more support”. (H) “Now is the time to help families with paid sick days and better family leave”. (I) “Now is the time to finally keep the promise of affordable, accessible health care for every single American. If you have health care, my plan will lower your premiums. If you don’t, you’ll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves”. (J) “Many of these plans will cost money, which is why I’ve laid out how I’ll pay for every dime — by closing corporate loopholes and tax havens that don’t help America grow”.
Does anyone believe that any President can do all this. I don’t.
John McCain and Sarah Palin have real plans for real people, plans and specifics that I can believe in. They are all detailed on their website of JohnMcCain.com. On the site, start with the headings of “The Economy”, “Health Care”, “Education”, and keep going.
An apology please. I just discovered a one word omission in my above posting of 6:09 AM.
I read my piece over at least six times, but I missed the following:
Please add the word “about” in paragraph five… the first sentence should read: Also this primary election season should not have been about race, …….
Thank you everybody.
Now get to work sending this out, please.
If anyone wants advice or has questions…. please post your thoughts, questions, or whatever on the most recent Murphy thread and I will check that during today, Sunday.
This can be fun, everyone. Newspapers will run this — for FREE.
Thank you.
Common Sense Bruce
Here is a list of Presidents since 1973, the year roe vs. wade was put into place, oddly enough, it happened on a republican president’s watch, richard nixons
richard nixon
gerald ford
jimmy carter
ronald reagan
george h w bush
bill clinton
george w bush
While I understand concerns about pro-life and anti-prolife…it just seems to me this is a futile attempt on obama’s camp to use any little thing they can to scare voters of the female gender, if Hillary had not run and it had just been Obama, his own camp probably wouldnt even pay that much attention to it at all.
We better be more concerned that Iran, the Hama, and other terrorist sponsored nations like Barry…that is what you better be paying more attention to.
Honestly ask yourselves, how could Obama’s camp scare women any more than by keeping their minds on their uterus…think about it, isnt that a blantant slap in all female’s faces to think that is all they vote for…what a bunch of bs….period
Dear PUMA folks…
This is a continuation of my posts on this thread at 6:09 AM and correction at 7:14 AM, both today.
I am exhorting all fellow PUMAS to help disseminate my posting around the country — and under your name. Just take my material, and put your name on it.
As you note in my 6:09 AM posting, I already know this will be running in print media within the next 14 days or so, well known regional newspapers in certain newspapers in Ohio, PA, NJ, and Maine.
I will also get into well known on-line media as fast as I can.
BUT, I can use help on both.
SO… Hello great PUMA people, this is where you come in !!
The on-line media is endless. Every major newspaper in the country has a blogging site, and/or where they invite reader comments…. I offer all PUMA people … use mine under your name. NO PROBLEM.
The purpose is to win on 11/4.
Some comments: My piece has 686 words in it. Most on-line sites will accept that. For the print media, 686 words may be too long. But look into it. If there could be a problem…. Submit the 686 word version as is, and then an alternate at less words.
Any questions or comments, anyone has… post them here or on the Murphy & Friends site. I’ll try to catch them and respond.
Best to you all. I’m feeling good about this. I think we can win…. But WE ALL have to keep “fighting” and spreading the word.
More later.
Thank you,
