I’ll start.
The first story that comes to mind is Monday night after our long day of demonstrations and The Rise at Cheesman Park, Sheri, MP, and I were back at our tiny crash pad. Mama was asleep, Sheri and MP were snuggled up on the air mattress on the floor and I was trying to keep up with the blog. I thought they were going to sleep, but no way. Sheri and MP started chatting about the days’ events, the people the politics, the gossip and the fun. We ended up out on the balcony until 3 in the morning watching the skyline and the moon and talking about our plans for the future. After they went to sleep I felt so refreshed and rejuvenated that I blogged for another hour and a half. I think Dances was wide awake across town doing the same thing. Southjersey puma too.
Tomorrow is a new day and we have lots to do.

I wanted to repost this in response to PINK PUMA (whom I love) and FreddieBrown (whom I also love).
Also, Texas Tigress made an EXCELLENT point which I will take to heart which is if you post it cite it too. Excellent excellent and I read too quickly and my computers skills are secondary but I will from this point on only post facts with citations. i think that this will also improve our credibility….
If you research the feminist movement you will find many critiques that we FAILED because we tried to play nice (women are taught this)…we were too inclusive, tried to make everyone FEEL GOOD, tried to be friends….many of these critiques are spot on.
I do not want them to like us, I do not want EVERYONE to feel at home here, I do not want us to work slowly from within, I want us to attack like SPARTANS.
Their goal is to win. They DESTROYED the clinton family (and if you are still in denial GET YOUR EYES OPEN)…they stole MILLIONS of votes, and WE let them get away with it.
So, the end goal is POWER. POTUS. They want it, but they CAN’T GET IT WITHOUT US. So the last FLKKKKKING thing we do is VOTE FOR THE BASTARDS or VOTE IN A WAY THAT ALLOWS THEM TO WIN. I’m sorry, but this is a LOSER/VICTIM mentality and I will not be a party to it.

Here is my plan of action:
GOAL–DEFEAT BO and once the DONC is on its knees and infighting imploding it boom boom boom we go in, pick up the pieces, kick out the filth, and rebuild with PUMA IDEALS
HOW TO REACH GOAL–
1) DO NOT VOTE BO
2) DO NOT WASTE VOTE SUCH THAT BO IS ELECTED
3) DEFEAT DONC:
a. voter registration
b. MASS media awareness (we can write letters, do our prowls, but perhaps even work with others in town hall and school settings to get the word out)
c. MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL IN MY HUMBLE OPINION is to monitor voting fraud in the KEY SWING STATES. This means attorneys, video cameras and GUARDS at each voting site to prevent voter fraud or to record it so the votes can be THROWN OUT. I think this is key and I think we are going to have to work with people with MONEY to achieve this and without this we may be lost…

I respectfully request you get rid of that thread. I know you’ve been through a great deal, many of us have, but none of us needs to read that hatred and vileness.

One thing I did not like in Denver is a certain, nameless camerman…I think that person has too much ego!!!! I am not sure I can trust him/her.

Memories of Denver-
Total excitement to meet the people on the blog and build friendships I hope with continue long after this election is over.
How packed the HQ was, everyone talking a mile a minute and besides all the news reporters everywhere, protests, prowls and information as always a buzz.
The thin and hot air in Denver was terrible. The third day of Denver I was only able to wear flip flops with all the blisters I had from walking.
The city of Denver was flat, and had terrible smog but the people were wonderful. Always friendly except a few bots.
Finding and talking to delegates was easy, exciting and informative if not sad that they were falling in line from intimidation. I was able to bring tears to every one of their eyes when I ended each conversation saying, “Please, please stand up for Hillary. She is my JFK.”
I got very little sleep, woke up with a bloody nose each morning from the dry heat. Drank more water and Gatorade then I ever hope to again. Cried every time I saw Hillary on tv, cried every time the negative news came from the convention. Laughed daily with all my fellow PUMAs when ever we gathered.
I can walk away knowing I did my best and made some wonderful new friends. I am grateful to Greenfun for helping me get to Denver and letting me have this great experience.

She will continue to be a powerhouse in the Senate and the Democratic Party. I have been searching since the convention was over for a list of how the delegates voted in Denver and have not found any info. I don’t want just the numbers, I want the names of delegates that supported Obama.
Instead of voting for any woman on the list of Democratic candidates, I will place a vote next to all Hillary delegates even though they couldn’t find their voices to represent our votes through intimidation.

Yes, I think this would be a very useful resource and a guide for PUMAs who don’t want to reward turncoat Democrats. Many of these delegates may not be in high-profile positions, but they may be elected officials nevertheless. I mean, how many voters can name their State Assembly representative right off the bat? But if your state rep voted against Hillary even if your district carried her in the primary, do you want that person re-elected if there is someone else on the ballot that is acceptable?

I don’t get the whole kiss on the cheek gig. Should a woman in Sarah Palin’s position be shown more of a professional gesture – say a handshake, maybe a hug, but leave the cheek kiss out of it?
I’m asking because, from my male perspective, a hug is more than sufficient to recognize the woman as a person; s kiss seems to be overkill if not invasive.

I just read some of the vile comments from the previous thread. It just goes to show what type of person supports the democratic ticket. It just makes my decision to support another party all that much easier. The hatred in the Obama camp is almost frightening. I remember hearing on the radio last week; if you support Obama you care about the people of this country if you don’t you are a racist. Do these people realize that racism works both ways? Murphy you have nothing to be ashamed of. You gave 100 percent to us and we love you for it. I loved what I heard today. Who is this broad from Alaska and why would he pick her she has no experience to which my comment was and Obama does at least she’s the VP and can learn. at the begining looked like it came from cnn, I commented in their site, or from HILLARY´S blog, it was like 2 days after hillary was driven out the race, I am just supposing
I got the impression that HILLARY had the enemy(spy) at home
I was thinking that we, as a group could invade with e-mail,etc whatever institution is responsible to keep watch that voting goes on correctly,
I know each state has an ELECTION DIRECTOR, that directly depends on the governor and at the same time there is a natinal comission (I do not know the title)
What I did on my summer vacation in Denver:
I met some wonderful PUMA’s. Murphy, of course, GoAnderson, Antifish, Hillstheone, and NancyK.
A personal comment, Murphy: I was truly struck by how humble you were. Never once did I even see you in your “office”.
I also enjoyed all of us in visibility at the MSNBC stage when Chris Matthews appeared. And Antifish beginning the ” sexist pig” chant.
The two most distressing were how people screamed at us as we were marching and protesting on Wednesday before the vote, and the rollcall vote itself. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY NO ONE BUT US SEEMS TO BE UPSET THAT THEIR VOTE DIDN’T COUNT?
I feel blessed that I could get to Denver. And I feel blessed to be part of such a patriotic group of men and women who are fighting for our county against tremendous odds.

Like 18,000,000 others I was totally thrilled on Tuesday night when Hillary gave the “speech of her life.” You could feel the love of her supporters in their rousing reception and seeing the center mostly white with Hillary signs renewed my trust in the system. She looked so radiant and spoke so clearly, I felt surely the tide was turning for her. Even the scowls on Michelle’s face couldn’t diffuse what Hillary was building. It wasn’t just emotional, the TV cameras captured the trust and confidence the sign-wavers were demonstrating. I felt so peaceful thinking that the delegates would listen to the 18,000,000 voices that they knew were out there, and stand strong in the face of intimidation. But then, Wednesday morning I heard the first rumors of a secret vote being taken in the hotel rooms. It was so outrageous that I refused to believe it. Two hours before the roll call was scheduled to begin, I was surfing around the TV channels hoping to hear something positive about the procedure when I heard Donna Brazille say she had already voted. Her smug look gave it all away. When the delegates gathered, I thought the roll call was eerily quite and immediately realized that there were very few Hillary supporters there. And then as the states were called on for their votes, it was obvious that the deed was done, Hillary’s votes had been pirated, again. Hillary had to stop the bleeding by calling for a unamimous vote. The 2008 Democratic roll call will live in infamy.

I have mixed feelings about the Clinton delegates that voted for Obama too. I was very sad to find out Barbara Boxer ended up voting for Obama too. If I knock out all but about 400+ delegates that did vote for Hillary and all of the pretender’s delegates, no one is left.

Unfortunately because Hillary released her candidates they were not bound to vote for her. I cried so hard when she gave New York’s count and called for an end to the count. She looked so tired.
My husband and my one son think I’m nuts to even think about McCain that it goes against everything I believe in. But my other son is right there with me. We read these posts together some nights. My 84 year old father who has always voted Democratic is going to McCain this year. He says the Dems shot themselves in the foot and were too stupid to stop the train once it left the station.

It’s obvious the GOP put up their most qualified, moderate, strongest candidate while the corrupt DNC leadership selected their least experienced, most liberal, highly questionable judgment candidate. I wanted to remind you of how trolls operate. For those of you who are new to the blog, a “troll” is a blogger who is secretly an Obama supporter or is a paid Obama blogger who comes here to create problems.
Here are some of the things trolls do:
1.) Trolls make racist or especially nasty comments so people who are visiting will be turned off and will leave. I usually report these people to the moderators (Murphy, MarylandPuma, MamaPuma) or point out that their comment is inappropriate on the blog. I do not support any kind of racism, elitism, or misogynistic talk against women of any political party. By the way, trolls sometimes also accuse us of being racist or mean with no evidence to support this claim.
2.) Trolls oftentimes leave in a huff after claiming that they are insulted by a comment or because people are not paying attention to them. They do this to support their claim that we are mean. I oftentimes leave comments and people don’t respond. That’s just the way it goes. In addition, if I chose to leave the blog permanently I wouldn’t make a big announcement and call attention to myself.
3.) Trolls are a little too enthusiastic for McCain so that people think we are closet Republicans and leave the blog. Some people on the blog support McCain and some don’t. Our goal is to protest the 2008 election, work against the corruption that is promoted by Obama and work to reform the Democratic Party. I will be protesting the 2008 Democratic primaries by either not voting in November or voting for a third party candidate.
4.) Trolls like to attack Murphy in an underhanded way by continuing to refer to her supposed support of John McCain. Murphy has already explained this on multiple occasions. These attacks on Murphy are irrelevant to me. By the way, Murphy is the person who created this blog.
The ultimate goal of a troll is to kill our discussion so we will not continue our work. Do understand that if you behave in any of the above ways you may be accused of being a troll. That’s because we have to deal with these kinds of people on a daily basis.

Did you see the article in the Knoxille paper about the delegate fight during the Hillary delegate meeting? It demonstrates the HUGE pressure the delegates were under. I also am not sure that they don’t still have a legal right, in some states, to vote to who they were pledged on the first vote, even thought Hillary released them. They were their representing the people who SENT them and I believe they could be sued or brought up on charges.
Any PUMAS out there remember where the documentation was on this?? We actually had a copy of the law from at least one state but don’t know where to track it down.

With regard to Denver, I was glued to my TV for every moment and every sighting of PUMAs! You were all magnificent. Murphy, Harriet and Diane gave dynamite interviews.
On another topic, I need to express my absolute astonishment at recent comments by BO. I cannot believe what I just heard on Fox news regarding BO and the impending hurricane. First, he blasted McCain for being in the area claiming that he would be taking necessary resources away from the people on the ground(whatever that means). Secondly, he said he could mobilize his supporters to help out–send an email to a couple of million. What is he the king? Do they jump at his command? Does he only think HIS supporters would help out? This man is so pompous and narcissistic . I am more convinced than ever, hearing these words, that this man is who I originally thought he was–a superficial, arrogant, and unsubstantive person. Sorry for the rant, but if this is a preview of a presidency–be very afraid.

There was a Democrat senator that went to Anwr a few years ago to do a study. It was on a CNN interview. They showed a vast area and according to the senator, is largely wasteland. It is not the pristine alaska with lakes and pine trees and glaciers that you and I know.

Academic stuff – Pardon me – In management, they say it makes sense to look at threats and make it an opportunity to face it and handle the threat adequately to reduce the effects. This is exactly what is being done with Gustav – people with common sense are playing it right and proving that they care. The other side, in a few days after Gustav, will say that the common sense guys used it to their advantage. I would not buy it, nor would all PUMA’s. When a person sends a letter to any State or Government Agency, it is always best that they sign their letters. Notarizing your signature is entirely up to you as it is not a requirement on any letter you may send The procedures of the Secretary of State and the laws surrounding them vary State to State. Whether you choose to send the letter via certified mail would be up to you. I, myself, would send the letter with a signature and return address and I would send it certified mail so I know the letter was received by the Agency and the exact date they received it. It would take a considerable amount of time to check and verify the laws for each State. As you can imagine, my office is extremely busy and this would take time to research the laws of other States. The Secretary of State in each state has a website, which will give the procedures for the individual who wishes to object to a candidate or request investigations. Have you checked the SOS website for Florida? When you ask for the laws governing Agencies, I cannot give a fast response, I must research the law for that particular State. Again, my office is extremely busy and we are working pretty much 7 days a week. Florida has a Division of Elections, that site is http://election.dos.state.fl.us/division/director.shtml When you pull the website, look to the left there is a pull down menu entitled “Opinions/Rules/Laws” If you click there, you will find a wealth of information for your State. In Utah, the Lt. Governor is responsible for the elections. I imagine each state is a little different. I am sending my letter certified and also sending a copy certified to the state attorney general.

I agree that those hateful email are way over the top. I’m also pissed off at the DNC and believe that we’ve got to take back the party.
However, I’m tired of reading all of the knocks about how nasty the Obama people are. My whole family votes Democratic. Some will write-in HRC, some will vote third party, and yes, some will vote for Obama.
But none of my family is nasty or has ever been nasty. Saying that ‘Obama supporters are mean’ is a false generalization. Its just not true.

I do not think any of them heard a word he said as they were horrified that the four of us dared to appear and commit heresy at the coronation. Some tried to have us thrown out, but the police stood firmly on our side.

Let me first start off by saying this is not Texaspony but rather his boyfriend of 5 years, Texasturtle. Pony has allowed me to blog under him as he and I both have tired very hard to get me on here but somehow the register either hasn’t worked or Murphy has been so busy I haven’t gotten my pass code yet.
Thus that being said I will now continue.
I will publicy admit that I have for most of my life been and voted Republican. However even before half of GW Bush’s 1st term had passed I saw him for what he was. I was screaming before anyone he needed impeached and removed from office.
I voted for Kerry the second time around. We all sadly know what happened, however I did not go back to the Republicans. It only got worse again as we all know under Bush.
Now I must pause and explain a little about myself to make this all make sense. Even though I voted for Bush and had been Republican all my life I did like Bill Clinton and believe he has been one of our greatest Presidents. I have great respect for him. I have served (military), GOD and Country. I was in the First Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
I have done some pretty ugly things for “King” and Country, things that kept my country safe but will forever haunt my soul. Thus I know find myself making a choice in another election. I was very excited, I have loved Hillary Clinton since the time she came on the since way back when. I noticed back then she was a firebrand, a real force of nature. So there was no doubt who I was going to vote for.
I could not believe what I saw happening during this whole process up to and then at the Convention. I a former Navy Seal sat there watching that farce on that fateful Wed night during the Roll Call. I hung my in shame at my party, my country, and my fellow Democrats.
I have given blood, sweat, and tears for the service of this Country and to see Democracy so trampled on made my eyes mist and my already tortured soul scream in agony. There wasn’t a curse word that didn’t come from my mouth. Everything that this Party supposedly stands for or stood for was ground under goose stepping jack boot wearing Nazis.
I will not fall into line, nor drink the Kool-Aid. They assassinated and humiliated my candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. I will vote for John McCain, I can not in good conscious vote for a man who is so vile and filthy.
I am a very well educated person in the subject of History. I know so much I could probably bore any of you with it. However when I saw what happened that night I was reminded of another time in history and in my opinion much the same. I have a deep respect for another Democratic President; FDR. I have thus taken his most famous speech and one of the most famous in our history and changed it’s wording in places to fit Hillary Clinton and her supporters during this time.

No, you can bring in new voters, no principles needed!

As far as posting problems… I think we all experience the same frustration and as this blog becomes more popular — the problem becomes exponentially worse.
But here’s my suggestion. Three keyboard shortcuts. Before clicking the Submit button I use the first two shortcuts of:
Ctrl + A (to select all the text)
Ctrl + C (to copy the selected text)
Then if the post fails to submit… I hit the back button to get back to the page — click in the comment box and apply the third keyboard shortcut:
Ctrl + V (to paste the copied text).
Only suggestion I have but it has helped to reduce my frustration since I don’t have to retype the message.

All of the O supporters that I have seen on blogs are not the kindest people. I also find that O supporters are diligent in trying to obtain your support for their candidate this is well noted in my immediate family and they become very defensive if your opinion of his campaign platform is diferent. Not saying that all of his supporters have this mind set but the ones I have encountered handle themselves in this manner. You can only judge situations by the perceptions that have been provided to you.

Then yesterday I saw a Bill Clinton ad for Obama, where he never says to vote for him, but instead, speaks cryptically to a crowd, and has John Kerry’s profile looming over the crowd on the left, like a craggy tree. I read these signs as follows: Edwards = cheater. Kerry = loser. Advertisers know all about subliminal messages. The Clintons are sending them.

Answer: I do not “legally” know. However, the way jbjd was stating it (I think) was that the delegates were elected to represent and vote for their state’s voters. (That’s why they created the state laws – was to protect the voters’ votes)

McCain appears to be turning lemons into lemon-aid over Gustav. The RNC Convention was probably just a bunch of boring speeches anyway.
I have some involvement in some of the emergency response/cleanup activities and few people know how really bad it was in New Orleans after Katrina. There were more missing than confirmed dead and it was difficult to determine how many actually died because the flooding brought up burried bodies from the graveyards.
The whole Katrina thing gave me the same sence of helplessness that the 2004 election of George W. Bush gave me. I watched the storm comming in, knowing about the levees. Not only did the Bush Administration fail, but the media failed, also. Then the Bush Administration continued to fail in the follow-up and the area is still suffering. Infrastructure. We are so failing.
It is time for redemption. If McCain can handle this and get some relief for the area he will win America’s Heart. If he ever was a Maverick, now is the time for it. Let’s see what he and Palin can do.

Officials with Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama’s campaign released Biden’s Selective Service records at the request of The Associated Press. Less detailed records were available from a National Archives facility in Philadelphia.
According to the documents, Biden, 65, received several deferments while he was an undergraduate at the University of Delaware and later as a law student at Syracuse University. A month after undergoing a physical exam in April 1968, Biden received a Selective Service classification of 1-Y, meaning he was available for service only in the event of national emergency.
“As a result of a physical exam on April 5, 1968, Joe Biden was classified 1-Y and disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager,” said David Wade, a campaign spokesman.
In “Promises to Keep,” a memoir that was published last year and became an instant best-seller after he was tapped as Obama’s running mate, Biden never mentions his asthma, recounting an active childhood, work as a lifeguard and football exploits in high school.

Here’s something that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans, but after the roll call fiasco I was so disheartened that I was looking for anything to get back on track. Then we had to endure the media fawning over BO’s extravaganza at Invesco and the “magic of it all.” (I took my granddaughter to see Hannah Montana and she did the same thing, of course, it was cute for her because she’s a bona fide rockstar.) I was further sickened by his pretentiousness. Then, Fridday morning the breaking news came in that Sen. McCain was going to announce his VP choice. I don’t know what kind of facility the crowd was in, it looked like a big gym, and what i thought was so different and cute were those cheerleaders entertaining the crowd and leading the wave before the announcement. Such a wholesome setting! That lifted my spirits!
I cried also and still crying when I saw Hillary and Bill paying tribute to STJ.

Over the last week this race has been transformed (into a travesty for the democrats).
Barack (Nobama) named (the drunken and slurring) Joe Biden as his running mate, and they accepted (stole) the Democratic nomination (from Hillary Clinton) at our (embarrassing) historic open convention in Denver (to the tune of $50 million dollars).
Our team is complete (Brazile, Pelosi, Dean, MSNBC news, Rev. Wright, Rezko), and our (bowel) movement is growing rapidly. But now we (same group as above) are facing our first major challenge together (not enough crap wrap to go around).
The August financial reporting deadline is tomorrow at midnight (actually tonight, they can’t even send emails on time), and we have an opportunity to show that a campaign funded by ordinary people (koolaid drinkers) can go (tip)toe(through the tulips)-to-toe with the Washington lobbyists and special interests lined up behind John McCain (next POTUS) and the Republican Party. (Yea-ha Howard Dean…eat my shorts….loser)!

As I listened to Diddy trying to make a complete sentence, I wondered what elementary school level did he leave school at, I came to the conclusion it probably was the 5th grade.
You would think that with all of his money, he would have thought through his commentary.
His rants were incoherent and laughable.

First, I want to be very clear, I will not under any circumstances vote for Obama, ever.
Second, I fervently wanted and want a woman in the White House, but only a women who supports and fights for the core values so important to me. I wanted and want Hillary as president. She is the most qualified candidate in my voting lifetime. (Quite long!)
So here goes. I have read the posts carefully about Palin. I will not criticize her or subject her to a different standard because she is a woman. I also will not support her just because she is a woman-any more than I could support Senators Kay Hutchinson or Elizabeth Dole as VPs just because they are women.
Before I can support a candidate, male or female, I have to know that they will support the core values that were once so important to most democrats and remain important to me. Admitedly, if I found a man and a woman with equal qualities, I would vote for the woman. I want to vote for women!
What I am trying to say in my awkward way is, I cannot
support just any woman. If I support a woman she must be a woman who supports the issues that I value.
I will not overlook a woman’s stand on important issues anymore than I would a man’s stand on the issues.
I will say as I have previously, McCain’s choice was brilliant politically. I do not believe it was done for the right reasons, it was strictly political. That bothers me.
That does not help women.

I believe it is still illegal in 13 states to Vote other than who you are pledged to on the first roll call. The earlier blog shows all the states that have these laws. We had one letter awhile back, that an AG had sent to the SOS in the state letting the dlegates know this is the law. The delegates STILL had a responsibility to those that sent them. It may hae been invalidated at the acclimation during the actual roll call but up until then I think those states were still binded for their first vote earlier in the day.
WE need to find copies of the laws in those 13 states

CNSNews.com) – Sen. Barack Obama did not mention Martin Luther King’s name as he accepted the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night on the 45th anniversary of Dr. King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.
Obama referred only to “a young preacher from Georgia,” who “45 years ago today brought Americans from every corner of this land to stand together on a Mall in Washington” where he spoke of his dream.
“’We cannot walk alone,’ the preacher cried. ‘And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back,’” Obama later quoted “the preacher” as saying.
The omission of King’s name offended some African-Americans. “It looks like he’s running from history,” the Associated Press quoted Dr. Cornel West, a professor of African-American studies and religion at Princeton University, as saying after the speech.
“He couldn’t mention Martin, he couldn’t mention the civil rights movement, he couldn’t mention those who sacrificed and gave so much,” West said. “It’s very, very difficult to actually create a new world if you don’t acknowledge the world from which you are emerging.”
The Rev. Jesse Jackson told the Associated Press that King’s most famous speech was being “reduced to a sound bite.”

In other words, at the time of his birth, Barack Obama Jr. was both a U.S. citizen (by virtue of being born in Hawaii) and a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies (or the UKC) by virtue of being born to a father who was a citizen of the UKC.
Obama’s British citizenship was short-lived. On Dec. 12, 1963, Kenya formally gained its independence from the United Kingdom. Chapter VI, Section 87 of the Kenyan Constitution specifies that:
1. Every person who, having been born in Kenya, is on 11th December, 1963 a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies or a British protected person shall become a citizen of Kenya on 12th December, 1963…
2. Every person who, having been born outside Kenya, is on 11th December, 1963 a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies or a British protected person shall, if his father becomes, or would but for his death have become, a citizen of Kenya by virtue of subsection (1), become a citizen of Kenya on 12th December, 1963.
As a citizen of the UKC who was born in Kenya, Obama’s father automatically received Kenyan citizenship via subsection (1). So given that Obama qualified for citizen of the UKC status at birth and given that Obama’s father became a Kenyan citizen via subsection (1), it follows that Obama did in fact have Kenyan citizenship after 1963. So The Rocky Mountain News was at least partially correct.
But the paper failed to note that the Kenyan Constitution prohibits dual citizenship for adults. Kenya recognizes dual citizenship for children, but Kenya’s Constitution specifies that at age 21, Kenyan citizens who possesses citizenship in more than one country automatically lose their Kenyan citizenship unless they formally renounce any non-Kenyan citizenship and swear an oath of allegiance to Kenya.
Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982. “

I saw some people who are VERY concerned about McCain getting elected. I said, well I’m either writing her in, voting third party, or voting “present” but Obama and the DNC LOST my vote, my time, my money… Nobama 08.
It’s really really amazing how scared these people get, well we just can’t have McCain. My response is well if it is this big of a concern about people like me and the 4 other congressmen from Tennessee who are not embrasing Obama, then maybe they should have thought about that before they insulted, demeaned, alienated, and ostricized the Clinton family, and Hillary Clinton’s voters.

I haven’t read the original posts yet… but I wanted to say (if it hadn’t been mentioned yet) that I saw an analysis on FOX on Bill Clinton’s body language during his speech. It was fascinating. The lady said that over all his body language showed he was powerful and in command. She did make note that there were at least two times when Clinton literally put his tongue in his cheek to indicate that he wasn’t serious (joking). The first time was when he said he hated to have to follow Hillary’s speech from the night before. The other time he literally put his tongue in his cheek was when he said he supports Barack Obama for President.

I guess the first thing I should do is take a deep breath and look at the situation with Sarah Palin as an opportunity for more people to gain a better understanding of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge . . .
I’ve heard several people say things like . . . “Oh . . . it’s only a tiny area of the refuge that they want to drill. That doesn’t sound too bad.” I’ve spent the better part of the past ten years studying this issue, and trying to rally support for the continued protection of the refuge. It’s not complicated, but it does take a bit of effort to come to an understanding. The Refuge itself is roughly the size of South Carolina. It’s akin to saying . . . “Don’t worry, we’ll leave almost all of South Carolina alone. We just need to take over the coastline.” Clearly, this would have an enormous impact to the state, even though most of the acreage would be left untouched.
Most of the refuge is protected, with the exception of the northern coastal plain, known to the US government as the “1002″ (ten-o-two) lands. This small area is the most environmentally critical spot of the entire region.
The Gwich’in are the northernmost of Alaska’s indigenous people, living in villages scattered along the migratory path of the Porcupine caribou herd. For literally thousands of years, they have relied upon this herd as their primary source of sustenance. Each spring, the herd makes its way northward in a massive migration to their SOLE birthing grounds along the northern coastal plain – the 1002 lands. The Gwich’in people call this place, “Iizhik Gwats’an Gwandaii Goodlit,” or “the sacred place where life begins.” Nature, in her infinite wisdom, has helped to make this the most ideal place for the caribou to give birth. The insects, which torture the caribou in other areas, and can actually devour a newborn, are mercifully at their lowest concentration in this northern coastal plain, mainly because of the thin band of coastal winds. Wolves, another threat to the newborn herd, are located in a more southerly region during the birthing time. The Gwich’in people consider these birthing lands to be sacred, and it is said that they would not enter them even during times of great famine.
Unfortunately for the indigenous people, the caribou birthing grounds fall within the area we often hear described as the small “footprint” for Arctic Drilling. This action could quite literally drive a stake into what the Gwich’in people call “the biological heart” of their homeland. Forcing the caribou away from this ideal spot would clearly upset the environmental factors which have taken centuries to evolve in their favor. And if the caribou are forced along a different path, or to a different region, the people who have depended upon them for millennia will also be forced to leave.
Geologists feel that there is a limited amount of oil there. It would take many years to build the infrastructure to even begin to get at the oil on the coastal plain, so this is far from a quick fix for our high gas prices. Most, if not all oil extracted there would be shipped to Asia. “Big Oil” – - Shell and Exxon in particular, have been pushing to drill there for decades. They would do what they do best — make a few more bucks for themselves, and so what if the Gwich’in lose there homeland.

You gave a fabulous, eloquent, and dynamic speech at the Democratic Convention. It brought tears to the eyes of the millions of women who worked so hard for you. One phrase in your powerhouse delivery rings on in my ears. In your call for us to back Obama you asked: “Were you in this campaign just for me or were you in it for all the people in this country who feel invisible?”
For some people your question was a turning point. I was one of those people. And I need to answer you, not just because you are my wonderful Senator from New York, but because I want to give you the answer I know many are thinking, but lack the forum to express. You see, my dear Senator, I too sometimes have the occasion to speak for the invisible. In my capacity as President of New York State National Organization for Women, I often speak for the millions of women who are denied reproductive healthcare. I speak for the women who are beaten and abused by their partners, and whom no one believes. I speak for the women who lose their children when corrupt judges award custody to the abusers. I also sometimes speak for the millions of women who feel discrimination in the workplace, and for victims of rape and trafficking.
Then, on a micro scale, I even campaigned for and won a contentious race, backed by supporters who believe I’m a person who speaks truth without fear. I was the person they trusted would work for justice in the lives of women and all oppressed people.
So I know what you wanted to hear, Senator. You wanted to hear people in loud unison declare: “No, we were not just in it for you, Hillary; we were in it for the invisible.”But for me, the only answer can be: “Yes, Senator, I was in it for YOU, precisely because YOU were in it for those people who feel invisible, and because YOU were the candidate who saw clearly that over fifty percent of the population was being ignored.”
Who are those people? Why they are the poor, the hungry, the underinsured, i.e. women and their children. YOU are the person who addressed the issues of that fifty-plus percent. YOU are the person who worked her entire life for that fifty-plus percent. YOU are the person who, in the face of rife opposition and ridicule, stood firm in favor of health care for the invisible. YOU are the person with a proven record on Emergency Contraception for all women, because YOU understand that without reproductive freedom, women are held hostage to unwanted pregnancies. And it is YOU who has proven, over and over, that you can deliver for the invisible.
YOU were the candidate whose followers felt they knew so well, they could call her by her first name. Little girls yelled “Hillary” because they knew their future was in your hands. I would like to sincerely apologize to all of you ladies out there for any and all transgressions I may have made in the past.
The biggest “change” to come out of this election may be unintentional. I believe a lot more men are going to start taking a stand (once again) for the honor of women. I’m sure you all don’t need to be protected and all, but it can’t hurt to have a return to civility.

First we want to see how the vote count went…we have that right. If it is hidden, that is one huge red flag!
Second, although many delegates were threatened not to vote for Hillary and support their voters, we would like to know which ones stood up for us and which delegates made a strong case to lead others to get on board the love train and abandon Hillary and the voters.

Well, today I went on an adventure. I am in Missouri and McCain/Palin had a rally here. I got VIP tickets from someone and I went. it was interesting. There was a group of PUMAS there from Chicago and they gave them reserved seating behind the stage and acknowledged them. They let them hold Hillary signs. Now, while I know this is pandering it is nice for someone to feel your vote is important.
I ended up in the 4th row from the stage and had a great view and spot to be. I will say this, I liked Sarah Palin in person. She seems a little different when you can observe her through a rally. I don’t know how to explain it but more like your everyday woman and down to earth. It is just my take on it but I did have fun and like I said, it is nice to be appreciated and the way I figure it is, they can use me for the white house in 08 because I in turn am waiting for 2012.

If you are open to changing our system, then you have to be open to listening to what the other side is saying. If you truly read what I said, then you would understand why I posted it. I said “This has got to be stopped before it really mushrooms.
Maybe, there is some way that we can help to put an end to this.” I really believe that it is important that we are fully aware of all aspects of this fight. You cannot fight a good offensive fight without knowing what the opposition is spewing. That was my objective and I feel that not printing some of this hatred serves no purpose. We are not advocating it. We are attempting to right all the wrongs. You cannot fight smear tactics by not recognizing that they are out there. It is obvious that you do not read my posts in their entirety.
In addition, I guess I was not the only PUMA who posted this – Sisterluck did and now Headclunker just mentioned that this was on the Huffington Post and Craig’s List.

I really wish she’d have taken it to the floor…. The night of her final primary (victory) she was a freaking warrior and I believe with all my heart that she was ready to go to the floor. That night, I swear she was amazing and it was like she was totally surrounded by the people, her champions, ready to do battle ready to go with her.
The NY congressional delegation called her the next day stunned and upset because they said they were with her til the end but they thought the night of the last primary was the end.
I wish they would have started investigating the money and why these superdelegates were falling all over themselves for “the nominee”

I know what you mean. i was looking at cards tonight in walgreens and they had Obama cards that were either joking about him being a democrat or were just those cards that say something like “happy birthday from Barack Obama”
All of the sort of whimsical stuff about Hillary is really so degrading, so it’s not really whimsical. They had a card with her crying on the front and then you open it and it said if you feel bad about getting another year older this just should make you feel better
Another card on the front said something about happy birthday from the most powerful woman in the world and then you open it and it says something about isn’t that scary.
Another just had her speaking and then you turn this little thing and bill pops out from behind her.
Now, its one thing to have whimsical cards about politicians. But they were ALL so degrading and sexist. It’s ridiculous.

As you know they are both extremely intelligent, enough so that many are jealous and seek any way to even the score. They have many enemies because they can’t be pushed around by special interests (and corporate power knew Hillary would affect their bottom line with her policies). It isn’t a conspiracy theory if there really is a conspiracy. Hillary was taken down systematically, on purpose. She wasn’t expecting that kind of organized opposition. I truly believe Soles Doyle was planted to take her campaign down from within. If what I suspect is true, and the Clinton’s life being politics…anything at all they may have done to fight back would have been used to destroy them. It is common knowledge that the Clinton’s have been under attack for years. This way they live to fight another day.

I just wanted to say that inspite of the nasty emails and comments. I still believe in PUMA. Hillary may not be on the ticket, but I still feel very strong about making the DNC make changes. “O” is not the change I had in mind. While McCain is not my first choice. I can’t sit home and not vote.

Let me first start off by saying this is not Texaspony but rather his boyfriend of 5 years, Texasturtle. Pony has allowed me to blog under him as he and I both have tired very hard to get me on here but somehow the register either hasn’t worked or Murphy has been so busy I haven’t gotten my pass code yet.
Thus that being said I will now continue.
I will publicy admit that I have for most of my life been and voted Republican. However even before half of GW Bush’s 1st term had passed I saw him for what he was. I was screaming before anyone he needed impeached and removed from office.
I voted for Kerry the second time around. We all sadly know what happened, however I did not go back to the Republicans. It only got worse again as we all know under Bush.
Now I must pause and explain a little about myself to make this all make sense. Even though I voted for Bush and had been Republican all my life I did like Bill Clinton and believe he has been one of our greatest Presidents. I have great respect for him. I have served (military), GOD and Country. I was in the First Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
I have done some pretty ugly things for “King” and Country, things that kept my country safe but will forever haunt my soul. Thus I know find myself making a choice in another election. I was very excited, I have loved Hillary Clinton since the time she came on the since way back when. I noticed back then she was a firebrand, a real force of nature. So there was no doubt who I was going to vote for.
I could not believe what I saw happening during this whole process up to and then at the Convention. I a former Navy Seal sat there watching that farce on that fateful Wed night during the Roll Call. I hung my in shame at my party, my country, and my fellow Democrats.
I have given blood, sweat, and tears for the service of this Country and to see Democracy so trampled on made my eyes mist and my already tortured soul scream in agony. There wasn’t a curse word that didn’t come from my mouth. Everything that this Party supposedly stands for or stood for was ground under goose stepping jack boot wearing Nazis.
I will not fall into line, nor drink the Kool-Aid. They assassinated and humiliated my candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. I will vote for John McCain, I can not in good conscious vote for a man who is so vile and filthy.
I am a very well educated person in the subject of History. I know so much I could probably bore any of you with it. However when I saw what happened that night I was reminded of another time in history and in my opinion much the same. I have a deep respect for another Democratic President; FDR. I have thus taken his most famous speech and one of the most famous in our history and changed it’s wording in places to fit Hillary Clinton and her supporters during this time.

Finally, I posted above about how Obama responded to the impending natural disaster, Gustav. It is essential that we all take heed of the less than inclusive language in his comments. While McCain was inclusive of Dems and Republicans in his call for awareness and help in this impending crisis–asking all Americans to participate, Obama was only interested in flexing his imperial muscles stating that HE could get HIS supporters to help out. This is highly significant in that it speaks to his overall arrogance, narcissism, and lack of leadership by excluding those who do not support him. As I keep saying, this is a PREVIEW of a presidency which will also be EX-clusive–meaning that if you don’t support him you will be EX-cluded. Casual comments such as this are more indicative of the character of an individual than a scripted speech. Buyer beware!
