Open Thread. Let us know who you are going to vote for in November. What about the down-ticket? What are YOU going to do? Tell us which district and precinct you are in.
p.s. Any brave Puma out there who can report on The Precious’ speech?
p.p.s. Britney Spears’ set designer put up the faux-Roman-folly stage-set. Nice!

Great picture. I will be watching. I am also voting down ticket.
Pres: McCain and I pray that Romney is not his running mate
Down ticket: any democrat who is honest and did not sell us out
I said in my local paper that I would vote present in honor of Barack Obama. That I would not be voting for him and I would be voting for Democrats down ballot. He did not earn my vote and he does not deserve my vote.
If you live in a state where there is a senatorial election and every congressional district in the country will be having congressional elections, we must have Democrats to carry our message and our values.
I believe Hillary is going to work harder than ever before to do this.
For everyone in the path of storms…PLEASE Stay safe.
There’s even a better picture that the mccain capaign is using that was on NEWSMAX of him as ceasar with the septer…..LOL
LOL…I thought that the Republican Convention started early when I tuned in there were all these speakers identifying themselves as Republicans at the podium..one after another…..LOL…LOL
how do we find out who sold us out?
Living Grace, I sure hope MSNBC doesn’t go down before November 4th! I am planning on watching those idiots report on BOs landslide loss! It’s going to be soooo satisfying!
Truthfully, there are a few Democrats here who are honest and fair. I will consider them.
OMG that’s hillaryarious
“p.s. Any brave Puma out there who can report on The Precious’ speech?”
I’m not a true PUMA but I’ll take one for the team.
Hello everyone..Is anyone watching the cornation??
Everything that Hillary wants to accomplish with us and for us and for the country she can do in the Senate. She must have a majority in the senate and I EXPECT THE DEMOCRATS OF THE SENATE TO ELECT HER AS SENATE MAJORITY LEADER AND THAT MEANS YOU JOHN SELL OUT KERRY
Not me Sunshine Im doin Law and Order again. LOL
4 mick ~~~ Greedy
-First of all, I will vote for McCain, I am even in the group “Citizens For McCain”. That is the way I will do protest.
I am watching the coronation, I think I may get sick gag!
I will be posting…
Now we can also suggest that Obama can be a fashion model. ha….ha…ha………..
Thanks 4hillinca.
#12 4hillinca on 08.28.08 at 9:56 pm For everyone in the path of storms…PLEASE Stay safe.
we are checking out HGTV..I have to get started back on finishing my stairs..
Love the pic..I can hear the mantra now obama, obama, toga, toga toga….
FOX is saying that McCain’s VP pick is Pawlenty. Has anyone else heard anything?
#19 nah… I can’t muster the energy anymore
I’m here to report on the coronation, like promised
I live in Tn,predominately republican. Not voting for McCain or Obama so I will proabally vote independent all the way………Gov Bredsen ran and worshiped at feet of obama, till our primary when some key people here were voted out. Dont know what he did after that too busy here…
Yaaaa!!!! All our troops are making it back in – report everyone as you get in so we know you are all safe.
If I was in charge I give you all medals – maybe even promote your ranks
Is Barack on? I can’t watch because I have football on CBS. Guys in black and yellow uniforms are playing guys in white and turquoise uniforms.
Just like his speech, this game is played in a stadium.
I’m watching it on Fox
I have been working on refinishing them..I finally got the bannisters done..they look great~
“O” is not on yet
Oh crapola…CBS switched to the speech…and the game was tied.
The sky is opening!!!!!!!! LOL
#19 Sunshinelvr
I am watching. Like it or not this is an important moment in American history. I hate that so many people are missing it. But I understand.
Well I’m flipping between the Packer game and the “collasium”(sp) and both are depressing and disappointing….LOL
Senator Durben speaking… Now “O” tape is playing…
Hillary represents my state in the senate. I will do everything to keep her there (as long as OBO stole her true calling)
But if my local not so super delegates turned there back on me. I will do everything I can to knock them off their podiums
I really think McCain would be crazy not to pick Meg Whitman of Ebay who has created millions of jobs with the company she ran. I hope it isn’t another man. I love men but I am sick of the male only power structure. Women are 52% of the population and we vote in higher numbers than men. There are many women qualified to be VP so choose one. If he doesn’t he misses a chance to make the Dems look even more Neanderthal and sexist. I mean how do you pass up an opportunity to impress half of the population?
I will vote McCain. I can’t have Hillary, I’ll do what I can to keep BO out.
I’m in Texas.
im watching it, too…
Here they go with new voters again! I am 30 years old. That makes me OFFICIALLY a YOUNG DEMOCRAT and I don’t stand with Obama and what is sad that since I have voted since I was 18, since I have worked for Democrats since I was 18, since I have donated over 5,000 hours and over 1,000 dollars to Democrats in the last 4 years that i do not count because I’m not a political democratic virgin. I had convictions and knew where I stood from the first time I entered into a voting booth. Therefore I DO NOT COUNT according to the Democratic Party. That is sad, Howard Dean. You threw me under the bus for unreliable people who are 5-10 years younger than me who have shown no allegiance to this party or its principles.
#39 GBPuma
I would go back to the Packer game!! At least it is real!!
Hey everyone!
True to my word I’m not watching the farce, ummm I mean speach. I’m watching the L Word with a smile on my face!
I will be voting for McCain in November. I want this to be a landslide of epic proportions…As for down ticket, i always vote Dem, of course as I live in SC all my reps are repubs so i will vote for the outsider Dems in the race.
and how remiss of me! WELCOME BACK PUMAS!!!!
Glad you made it back safe and sound!!
sorry TX there are probably a lot of important parts of history I’m glad I missed
I don’t particularly care who reports it, although it might be equally satisfying to hear it from MO.
Flip wilson should introduce him tonight:
“Heah come da King, heah come da King!”
#20 Dem4Hillary
That may have been the deal that was made with her team in order to get her on board…..it is a normal deal maker.
Queen…how’s the L replay going?
Tape is telling his life story… most of what we have heard before… compilation of pictures from commercials and news interviews
Voting MCain as a protest vote.
Will probably vote Mark Warner (D) in as Senator…he a good guy…did OK by Va when he was Gov.
But will vote Gov. Tim Kaine OUT when he is up for relection as he hasn’t done not much of anything……think that is why he and NOBO are such good friends. It irked me to no end to see Kaine come out and endorse NOBO even before the Iowa caucus. I was like what the H***.
42 Seattlegirl~~~ Yes, I said almost the exact same thing on the McCain blog this morning!!!!
#40 please do. i’ll read your blog. UNLESS the coloseum falls apart…
Oh yeah – StarDust here and voting for McCain since I can’t have my girl Hillary. I love Cindy knew I liked her as soon as I learned she was an animal lover. I would rather see her as first lady over Mo any day.
YIKES! I’m watching the pre-speech video. Oh, how awful!! If I didn’t know, I’d swear this is about the life of a Pope or saint — things about “his call” and “his special mission” , etc, etc.
I though he was going to be firm and talk substance.
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
I live in California and I will NOT VOTE PELOSI. I respect Senator Feinstein but Barbara Boxer sold me out.
Watching the Sprout channel for babies and toddlers. The story themes revolve around kindness, civility, honesty.
Dawn it’s going good, season 1 at that which means there’s Dana which I completely Loooooove!!
Yeah..and how many times are they chanting his name??
GOOD GOD EVEN HE IN HIS VIDEO CANNOT EVEN DESCRIBE OR IDENTIFY ONE GD THING THAT HE DID AS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER. They’re already on his legislative experience.
471 Anna7000 …………….hahahahahaaha . yep,she’s a good lady.
#45 4hillinca
Well without Brett it just doesn’t have the same fun and energy….oh well.
Now they’re onto his family. Can’t discuss one thing he did in the legislature. Just generalities. He’s NOTHING.
OMG, this guy is pathetic! Talking about respecting other people? He was lacking of respect for Senator Clinton during the campaing.
Dem4Hillary… Nah, again?…sheesh!
Video is still playing … no chanting yet…
474 TexasTigress………………. lmao…that is funny.
Bubba !!! you are great !!
I’m in TEXAS ( wooo hooo) 1st Cong. district
Top of the ticket I will not vote for XO ,
Down ticket I will vote Democrat unless someone is running that really screwed us then I will say f* ‘em .
I will do prowls against Pelosi , and whoever else running for re-election was responsible for this debachle – including donating to the campaigns of their opponents . Peace
His grandparents sound like good people.
I was unhappy that Jennifer Garner was there
Hmm she played a smart lady. She must be a good actress
talking about his Mom and being in a broken home… trying to make him see like a “everyman”
King Suck-up!!! Never been another candidate that sucked up like him. EWWWW How unbecoming!!!!
#65 GBPuma
Just use your imagination. Or watch OB who imagines he is going to be POTUS
MO, they never had a conversation about being a senator or president? I don’t believe her. He wrote a paper in kindergarden and everyone knows whay he moved to Chicago and engage with those friends!
The One has arrived.
He walked out on the stage………
Neo?
OMG–that is to funny, the King has arrived.
Video is over and “O” approaches the podium… the crowd roars…
PUMA ALERT
can anyone tell me if this means Colin Powell??????

70 KENDALBLUE – I’m thinking about calling Hillary and asking her if her Bubba farts and then turns to bark at his a** like mine does – wouldn’t that be something ?
I find nothing wrong of consequential worth that would make Mitt Romney an unwise choice.
If a faith called Mormon is all that one can object to about him then that’s not a reason. Mormons are fine people too.
McCain and the Mormon(?) get my vote. Pawlenty the VP is okay as well.
Am not watching television of any sort. My TV set is mainly a monitor for my DVDs.
silly puma
Ouhhhhh, ummmm, ahhhhh bama
I feel so tinginly….
#59 4hillinca
I agree… I don’t think I’ll get to vote Pelosi out because I’m not in her district… but I certainly would if I get the chance. And I will keep Feinstein since she seemed to heed my email warnings… but Boxer is out. I just hope we have someone decent offered as a replacement on the ballot for her. She is a total sell out. It’s funny because I saw signs of it before and the last time I had the option to vote for her — I actually asked myself, “Do I still trust Boxer enough to vote for her?” I didn’t know enough about the other candidates so I opted for voting for her simply because she was a Democrat. But that’s not gonna be enough this time around. For any of the candidates.
jerk is wearing a red tie. EVERY DEMOCRAT IS SUPPOSED TO WEAR BLUE, ESPECIALLY ON HIS ACCEPTANCE.
Here in PA there’s Gvnr Rendell who fell in the kool-aid lately but then flip-flopped back to Hillary. He is good as gvnr & did great by Philly as a mayor and left the cofferes filled with millions.
I’ll keep a closen eye on him. Now Patrick Murphy is up for re-election and he was in the TANK from the get go. I need to research his work first.
With great humility accepts the nomination….
OH…and all the PUMAS just back from Denver, WELCOME HOME….and awesome job you did out there!!
#59 4hillinca
Yes Diane is a great person…I know her in CA when she was mayor.
And YES PELOSI is #2 on the NO list….If it wasn’t for her and her jealousy we would be here in this situation today!!!!!!!!!!!
He keeps going on with this “Thank you…thank you” with out starting to speak to keep them going…..LOL
Well o-boi just walked out and the 75,000 are quieter in excitment then the 4000 were for Hillary.
#85 isn’t that like assuming someone didn’t vote for BO because of his color?
He accepted, I am puking!!!!!!!!!!
Murphy-
I will vote McCain-Rep down ticket because the people on it are not worth the trouble to split it.
Thanking Hillary … (LIAR)

humility my a**
ALERT, ALERT!! Chris Matthews has just passed out…the tingling has gone from his leg all the way up to his brain…Dr.s don’t think he will ever recover!!
Thanking Bill… Ted K… Biden…
He is thanking Hillary and Bill, brown nose!
Dawn that is colin powell name!
yes that’s it, she was an inspiration to poor people and his daughters. He f_ing sucks.
89 Dem4Hillary
Hmmm… Red tie does this means he’s secretly a Republican?
He’s trying to copy the whole “gain their respect through a history of me video” cause he saw Hillary do it and thinks it would work for him too… the problem is that Hillary’s history is interesting and filled with moral lessons… his video is empty and filled with lies.
What an IDIOT! Red tie…that’s CHANGE we can believe in!
MO just gave him 2 thumbs up for thanking her…. thanks his kids…

LMAO
This is a copy of my posts from downstaits . . . I began to wonder where everyone went.
Durbin is on now repeating the mantra ” yes we can”.
Makes him sound retarded. Now we have a sentimental video.
#480 turndownobama on 08.28.08 at 10:04 pm Guys, something just occurred to me.
If Obama sees he’s going to be defeated worse than McGovern, maybe he will resign and turn the nomination over to some real Democrat. Then we could have a Dem president this year after all.
So all we have to do is make sure Obama sees a really big defeat coming up….
#481 KENDALBLUE on 08.28.08 at 10:04 pm 471 Anna7000 …………….hahahahahaaha . yep,she’s a good lady.

Bubba !!! you are great !!
#483 mpdamon on 08.28.08 at 10:08 pm Video has turned into “my-life-as-I-want-you-to-believe” biography of Obama.
McCain will probably pick either Pawlenty or Romney.
Anyone ever have the impression that if BO was 5′2″ tall, with a soprano voice and an ugly face . . . no way would he be where he is now.
#484 mpdamon on 08.28.08 at 10:09 pm Now we’re hearing about his accomplishments ( the ones that he wants us to pretend he has ).
#485 Missy on 08.28.08 at 10:09 pm #410 TX Democrat
Missy: The tax money spent for the conventions is split equally between both parties. Costs above that are paid with contributions so it’s a waste of money on both sides.
**************
I agree that both parties are wasting money, but the extra security needed for Obama’s international jaunt and the “unexpected change of plans to use Invesco” prompted the Secret Service to request an additional $9.5 million. That’s a lot of gas, groceries and mortgage payments, IMHO.
My point was that the DNC wants to address the needs of those that are down and out — how can they waste this money, especially when the Invesco Field was over the top unnecessary…and then repeatedly ask their supporters to send more money? At least McCain is politicking in diners and whistlestops. I give him credit for that.
#486 mpdamon on 08.28.08 at 10:11 pm He’s trying to be a john kennedy reproduction.
#487 mpdamon on 08.28.08 at 10:12 pm He is such a liar.
#488 mpdamon on 08.28.08 at 10:13 pm Here he is . . . in his Greek Temple. Not wearing a toga though. Now they’re telling us that there are viewing parties all across the nation.
It’s rumored that McCain is going to choose Pawlenty. If it’s true, I couldn’t be happier if it’s true. I will support McCain 100 percent in November, but the deal is off if he chooses Romney or Giulani (I’d vote McKinney).
Texas
Now you know that is Aunt Carries Buh
and those farts scare him! Poor lil Bubba gum
Ill trade ya 3 danes and a mutt! LOL
Teleprompter must be off to his left.
Is it me or does he look like a Continental ticket agent in that suit?
It doesn’t mean he’s republican. it’s just more of this whole thing that he does where he doesn’t get “too partisian.” When it counts, when it really matters, our male leaders wear blue ties. I know it seems small, but it matters!
He is NOT a Democrat.
Sharpclaws – glad that you are not leaving – as you probably could tell from the past thread that many are confused with the direction right now – so you fit right in until a direction is set up — I think we will pull together as always and come up with a theme that we can all agree with –
GP Puma – I understand thoroughly what you were saying – prior to each Primary I did research myself to see where the highest delegate count was and where the most ground troops should have been placed to get the vote – it was all about the numbers – which is why he pulled it off and the caucus intimidation.
Thank you for your explanation though – just verified my thinking.
haha Beca4Hillary – yes, Chris Matthews is changing into a toga to run out on stage to bow down to this dope.
Calling us one american family…. 232 years ordinary folks… found the courage to stand up… (PUMA’s) now he’s talking about no more bush and the country has problems…
Now the self-ordained messiah is speaking. More BS . . . piled higher and deeper. There isn’t anything this conceited fraud could say that would make me want to vote for him.
He did flatter Hillary and Bill . . . knows he needs their votes.
carrie – 3 danes ?
Im crashin out..
Nite everyone
Call me tomorrow Texas
He has 2 teleprompters…
OK, now he is stealing Hillary’s 3 voter stories. What an original idea…
RED tie….Power…control!!
well remy is halfa dane
Chris Mathews has trouble getting into his toga . . . what with the tingling in his leg.
#84 Texas Tigress…you are too funny! Should that be our next Prowl???
Nitey Nite Carrie
The Barackopolis hasn’t helped with his talking points … some ole crap.
If Hillary is there….. Oh that poor woman. She is one strong lady if she sits through tonight. Of course we know she is strong but enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!
OH HERE we go with Democrats, repubs, independents, and this moment…
He is a racist preacher from a racist church!!
Ginger Gracie , remy , romy , and lucky ?
Saying no MCCain cause eight is enough (Bush)
Hey I’m not watching – but you guys are painting a beautiful picture
Yes, I see it Matthews with the wind blowing through his hair running across the stadium. Wait have to rest, ok running again, BO’ s arms outstretched, wait rest again…
can we talk about how he talks like a normal college professor in interviews but sounds like some southern preacher (FAKE) in his dumb speeches?!
some people on mccain’s site call mo saint shelly
His tie is striped large red/small blue.
That’s false. McCain voted with the republicans (not GWB because GWB is not a senator) 85% not 90%
125 zephyr – I’m IN !!!! LOL
yeah but Romy is in the country…Anderson has a 4 dog limit if you don’t have a kennel license…so I gots 4 and we go visit Rom
Anyone else think this sounds like one of his regular ol’ stump speaches?
goodnite gracie…
sleep well PUMA’s
Wow, not far into the speech but really sophomoric in tone and nature. Weak sound bites and no substance….just like the man.
did the messiah bring the fish and loaves for those pigs out there?
But the difference is McCain did vote rather than submitted present votes so that he wouldn’t be pinned down to anything.

I don’t see Hillary anywhere. Obama has this crowd eating out of his hands . . . free kool aid for everyone
#141
Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#131 iammykittysmom ..I’m gagging…how corney!
In the beginning of the primaries I listened to BO and went to his website & tried to see what he actually DID and what his specific plans are. Never found it. Listening to his speech tonight. Still nothing but marketing.
Why would Obama define middle class define middle class as someone making under 250,000 dollars a year.
Now he’s pandering to the military . . . needs their votes also. Get ready for Chicago-style politics coming to Washington.
#148 Cuz he does not have a clue
There is nothing wrong with a person who feels fear. But there IS something wrong with a person who allows fear to to control their actions. To strive for peace is a basic law of human nature. but to not rise up against oppression is to deserve the yoke around the neck.
And it’s NOT how this country was founded. Today our brave warriors are forced to shed their blood in foreign lands. While their families suffer and they come home to neglect and Barack Obama is not going to change a G-ddamn thing!!!!! HE doesn’t get it and he makes me want to hug my toilet and…..!!!!!!!
I never did like kool-aid!!!
Oh Lord, he used the 5 million dollar line. If was a joke ya big Odumbo and McCain said you would use it.
Queen…by the way Dana *cries* *drool* *thud*
might have to do a season 1 replay this weekend *thud*
“O” is trying to define (spin) McCain. “He doens’t get it”
Hi guys,
I am very disappointed because Gallup shows BHO today at 48%.
Here’s a very funny video.
http://www.stop-him-now.com/?q=help
NoName is doing the head funny movement, you know when his head gets lower looking side to side, whatever!!
Update – Kit is struggling with a dance routine , and Bette is defending an exhibit – Jenny is going to dinner with Marina and Francesca . Not sure what XO is saying .
Hillary is not there…..is she?
oh no…he needs to step back from McCain voting with his party 90% of the time when Obama voted party line only 97% of the time….that doesn’t show independence and working with both sides to me.
#149 mp damon
Now he’s pandering to the military . . . needs their votes also. Get ready for Chicago-style politics coming to Washington.
you re soooooo correct on that one!!!
I sure do wish he would stop saying, “WE Democrats.”
now he like Bill Clinton presidency —- I am scared
Good speech . . . all BS.
Now he mentions how good the Clinton years were.
I was thinking the same thing. Hillary’s speech was MUCH better!!
#139 iammykittysmom on 08.28.08 at 10:24 pm Anyone else think this sounds like one of his regular ol’ stump speaches?
I think we should adopt “we have an election to lose” as our battlecry and focus every effort on that. The Republicans will have their hands full trying to win this election and the only way to beat BO is to help John McCain. I’m not campaigning for him, I’m campaigning against BO. To identify ourselves as democrats for McCain in not a bad thing. I see it as our only hope to lose this election. We only have two months, I, for one, will start tonight.
Can count on a blank Democratic ballot top. Will be empty just like his speeches and resume.
WARNING!!!!!
Do not look directly into THE ONE’S eyes 8-o . I think that’s how he got the “followers”. Hypno BO.
bahahaha, he said “we democrats” That will be the last and only time he says DEMOCRATS. Oh NOW he says something positive about Bill Clinton.
I thought he couldn’t see change under either party and that’s why he was running.
Is he done yet? I think the length of his speech should equal the list of his accomplishments. Oh, that means he wouldn’t speak.
MK…had it pointed out to me that whenever he talks about his accomplishments it’s in Illinois time. He’s done nothing in Washington (except put up that global tax bill that will be our ruination!!!!!)
#159 – that’s it? His people were talking about a 10 point bump from the convention and they aren’t even close. Once McCain announces tomorrow, whatever bump he got will be gone.
WARNING!!!!!
Do not look directly into THE ONE’S eyes 8-0 . I think that’s how he got the “followers”. Hypno BO.
He doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge how his Gramma and Grampa helping him… Oops spoke to soon he just did…
152 hillaryistheone
me either! never did still don’t
I can’t get the shock eyes to work
Is he talking about typical white grandma?
#162 LivingGrace
a lot of people here tore up their democratic registration papers/cards and have resolved to leave the party they felt left them.
he is talking to/for democrats. it’s your choice whether you can identify with that label.
enough to gag a magot.
The problem with leaving the top of the ballot vacant is that someone ( and we can’t imagine who ) might fill it in.
how long is this fools`speech supposed to last anyway?
I am not tingling!!!
I’m not watching the BO speech to the masses, so my comments are kind of random. Sorry.
I was reading previous posts from today and someone was talking about how we should vote for the candidate that expresses our own political views because voting was an “expression of our soul.” Why does BO keep wasting money on those darn paid bloggers? They are sneaky though. Instead of out and out insulting us now they are taking the back way. Although that “soul” comment was pretty blatant. At other times they just talk about how we shouldn’t let McCain manipulate us. He isn’t. I want BO out of the White House. If McCain is the way, then oh well. It would be disastrous to have such an inexperienced president as BO. Back to watching non-Bo T.V.. -Lara08
Wonderful speech. Too bad I can’t believe a word he says.
Here we go, “Treat each other with respect”, he lack a lot of that, looserrrrr…
Still talking generalities… no specific’s…
Thanks for the BO updates as I am in my cone of silence with the L word!
Enough. he’s just another Socieopath. ANYTHING is better than watching that.
I got a request in the mail today for a contribution to Obama. I will print out a bunch of fake money tomorrow at work and stuff the envelope. But I also wrote on the slip that asks for the contribution the following:
“I already gave the real stuff to the real POTUS Candidate: Senator Clinton”
In the last 3 days..I have to re-post about 5 times before my post goes through..Anyone else having that problem? It was never this bad before!
im didnt bring my barfbag so ill not watch this jokers speech
everyone hang on he’s going to spell out exactly what that change means.
Yes Sunshine . . . having same problem
Now Bo gets to specifics.
Now he’s talking about being his brother’s AND SISTER’S keeper.
He is completely bombing, and yes sunshine I have had the same problem
Yes Sunshinelvr….Sometimes 4 or 5 tries.
#188 Sunshinelvr
Yep
wait for it…
Well I’ll say one thing: He’s no JFK.
I think he’s lost his touch. The speech is mediocre at best.
Crowd even doesn’t sound all that enthusiastic. Keeps on flubbing his lines.
I read the speech. Keeps talking about how his single mother raised him. They were on food stamps for a time…(which is no shame). It’s just…he wasn’t raised by his mother and he attended one of the most exclusive high schools in the country.
I wonder if the BO supporters who had to volunteer for tickets think this is worth it…they probably thought they were getting a free concert!
Right, he’s not saying anything new. He really needs to stop demonizing McCain and the Republicans. He’s starting to stumble. What’s interesting is when he has a teleprompter he talks too fast and when he doesn’t he ahhhs, and ummms. He’s starting with the “listen now” line.
#155 iammykittysmom on 08.28.08 at 10:27 pm “O” is trying to define (spin) McCain. “He doens’t get it”
eliminate capital gains…. cut taxes.. 10 years no dependence on foreign oil…
But we are determined Sunshinelvr!!!!
does anyone get a message saying you’re posting too quickly? once every 5 mins is too fast??
Well yesterday I was sad and cried. Today I am fired up!! Anything we can do to make sure he loses with a landslide is fine with me. Thanks to all of you who are keeping us informed. Will follow your lead Murphy!!!
Is it over?
brooklyn whats your opinion?…. homer ..2nd base ..3rd base?
HOW I WILL VOTE in Nov… AND WHY
I live in a liberal region… the SF Bay Area in California.
Even though I’ve long considered myself a “liberal-leaning Democrat” and have always voted Dem, I plan to vote for McCain this November (even though voting Repub would have been unthinkable not too long ago!).
The reason I’m voting McCain is because I want to make sure BO looses by a big margin.
California will almost certainly go blue… so I could afford to vote Green or Nader (and have considered that). But I feel strongly that the bigger the margin that BO looses by, the stronger the message that we will send and the more worried the DNC will get (hopefully making them evaluate what went wrong, what doesn’t work and what needs to be changed!).
My feeling is that if you live in a swing state, it is more urgent to vote for McCain, than if you live in a state that is definitely going to go blue or red.
We have to make sure BO looses in the crucial swing states where the race is very close right now!
As far as ‘down ticket’, I will probably vote all Democrat, as I usually do.
BO can have his change…I’ll vote McCain and keep my dollar!
the tele-prompter is slower than him so he has unnatural pauses.
hillaryrules
yes, i do
Yeah ending dependence on oil from the middle east. He’s friends with that guy out there in Montana who wants to use coal to convert it into oil. That means blowing up of my mountains in East Tennessee.
Clean coal is an axymoron… SENATOR OBAMA YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BLOW UP MY MOUNTAINS IN EAST TENNESSEE!
Eliminate Capital Gains tax
Will cut taxes
End dependence on Middle Eastern oil in 10 years
Will invest 150 billion over next decade
Ridiculous,
The bush and McCain bashing is going to far, he is on a national stage, not talking to just his supporters. They will never see him as a uniter when he splits the divides the electorate on the “biggest night of his life”
His worst speech ever. Boring. Uninspirational. He’s lost it. No good. A laundry list of what he’s going do. Nothing new. Same old lines we’ve been hearing for years. Promises, but no specifics about how he’s going to do it. Just promises. Promises we’ve heard for years and years and years….
Boring. Uninspiration. Dull.
I was thinking the same thing….now he is all compliments for the Clinton’s……..
I still have not heard any real plans on any issues yet.
Just a lot of “I WILL”….but then there is nothing to back that up.
and did u see the mutli shot of Time-square and other places that are packed with his fools?…Uggghhhh
as a political speaker he really IS NOT that good….boring!!!
#205 pink puma, he struck out
#158 Texas Tigress…which season of L word is that?
Has there been a shot of Hillary? Is she there. I can’t bear to watch this myself.
Now they have to commit to service for college, his website site says the first year is free
sounds like his same old stump speach…gonna do lots but no info on HOW or What he will do to acheive the goals.
He still isn’t saying what “my plan” is…
#192 jrhed
“He is completely bombing…”
I agree… just hope it reflects immediately in tomorrows polls… that would be cool. To see a quick bump attributed to the Clintons… and an equally immediate dive as soon as he opens his mouth.
BIG promises but can he deliver?
I must be getting old. I don’t feel united.
Was Hillary shown? I considered watching so I could see her…but then I might catch a glimpse of him.
No chants of Obama yet…
Oh my god, “an army of new teachers” and if “you commit to serving your community or our country we will make sure you can afford a college education”
SENATOR OBAMA DID YOU ASK BILL CLINTON IF YOU COULD PLAGERIZE?
Invest in Early Childhood Education
Hire more new teachers
Promising College Education for those “committing to serve country”
Affordable Health care . . . same as Congress has ( yeah Right )
My concerns regarding a N.O.T. voting strategy are that there will be millions of Americans who do NOT get informed enough to know who all the different people are that are running under their local Democratic elections. Many of those are in BO’s pockets already. My state has a local state senator who is licking his lips for a governorship that will be supported by BO, who has become a friend of his.
It would take tremendous effort across all the states and regions to get the detailed info on all those dems running for election and get that message out clearly. (I know, some are saying…well, PUMAs can take that on.)
And there are always those who just get confused, depending on the look of the ballot. My state’s ballot is often intimidating.
The rejection of BO has to be profound. He’s the captain of this ship, but the ship has to go down too. Collateral damage–too bad–better luck next time.
I think any kind of compromise, while satisfying some, is a huge risk. How do we know that a N.O.T. strategy won’t backfire in some of these electronic machines and cast the vote for BO anyway????
BO is planning an all out blitz on voter registration. We need strong numbers to counter that.

Now i get it…I was wondering why Gvnr of Montana was drinking the kool-aid last night while Montana almost always goes red!
he
I will only vote for those people who have the courage of their convictions. Which might not be anybody.
What a flop this speech is. He’s just so all about himself and how wonderful he is.
We need to make sure that the Obamabots don’t steal the election.
He can’t even raise enough money to pay for the Invesco Field stage display… so can we trust his fiscal responsibility of this nation?
He is promising the world to the American people, I lost count!
dem4hillary — you are making excellent points — thank you for enlightening me — i did not know that about blue ties, and I agree — it may seem small but it’s not.
Hillary as Senate Majority Leader — i LIKE it!
How’s his delivery?
Calm down pink puma!
TEST
Boy he is going to take care of all our problems…..oh no he just stole a movie plug from american president…….
I feel so bad for my dad in Oregon. He loves Hillary and he just called and asked me what he should do to keep this b****** out of office. He even apologized to me for creating such a bad world (not sure what that meant). Poor guy!! He is so upset. He is 87 and said he just can’t vote for him. I promised to guide him with what the PUMA’s will be doing. He is fired up also and ready to write letters and anything else. He was really looking forward to Hillary. He is on a limited income and contributed to her campaign. I sent him Hillary stickers which he has all over his car and he even handed out Nobama flyers. What a guy!!
anyone know if Hee Haw is on tonight ??
living grace..
” flop”
love that word when it applies to frauds like O
What is it he’s running for? Ruler of the World?
Glad I didn’t wait all day in the hot sun for this….It’s painful to watch this. It’s so bad.
It’s terrible, Murphy.

If he’s up in the polls, it’s a tribute to the Clinton’s great speeches. He’ll drop after this boring speech tonight!
Just warning you…at some point in the speech he says…
“It’s not about me, it’s about you! ”
It would be so funny if he slipped and told the truth.
“It’s not about you, it’s about me!”
The would be a purrrfect sound bite.
Lin4hill
Great idea!!!
DawnE The McCain/Powell tshirt –
Read the fine print at the bottom of the red section. It says Democrats for McCain so it is not from his campaign.
Now he’s bashing McCain again.
His delivery sounds like he knows it’s all hype.
Now Obama is going to be the national social worker to make fathers more accountable.
O bla bla is bla blaing. $150 billion over next ten years for alternative energy, including biofuels who fuel his pocket. Laundry list bla bla. Promise them everything. He is going to do it by plugging corporate loopholes and eliminating government programs! Miracles.
Now he is going to get Bin Laden and company. He is more than miraculous. He is SuperBO!
Oh, he’s talking about debates … bring it on Obuddy!!

you’re dad sounds like an American hero, you sound very proud
kudos to you and your dad
#237 murphy
He’s got a very good balance between pointing out flaws with McCain’s proposals, and getting specific about his policies (without droning into dull details).
For a guy whose big talent is being an orator, it’s obvious he’s practiced and studied for this one. You get so used to watching politicians give boilerplate stump speeches that it’s fun to see them deviate or unveil new talking points — or refine them.
btw, is Bob Barr doing anything while the big conventions are happening? I question how many other PUMAs have interests better suited by voting third party. If the libertarians get 5% of the vote this year, they qualify for public financing and it helps third parties everywhere. Imagine a world with more choice between vanilla, and vanilla-lite.
whens this speech over?
He’s not making any sense….The speech is all disjointed.
#237 Murphy
“How’s his delivery?”
The same as all his other speeches… not that great but the crowd is cheering. Maybe it’s my imagination but it doesn’t seem like the crowd is as passionate as the one in the Pepsi Center for Hillary.
#242 Yeah it is on right now!!!!
Posting attempts are getting ridiculous. The error page over and over. I give up trying today.
Thanks to everyone doing speech updating. You all have more endurance than I.
Still no chants of Obama… most of speach is attacking McCain and no details of how he is going to keep his promises…
He’s telling us how wonderful he is and how he’s always been right.
Politics as usual…bashing, promising everything. He will unite the country all right.
Blah blah blah!In 5 minutes I won’t be able to remember anything he said.
Okay, for anyone not listening,here’s what he’s saying…..
Something about “hope” or “change”.
More of the same….so borrrrring!
” As president I will make time travel possible, and monkeys will fly out of my butt. Then we will have cars like they did on the Jetson’s, college and healthcare will be free for everyone, no new taxes, I’d leave Michelle for Murphy in a minute,unlike Senator McCain, I’ll follow Osama Bin Laden to the cave where he lives, I’ll make America safe, grasping at something……
Bill and Hillary were so good, he just puts me to sleep.
No, we don’t need a president who is all about the future. We need a president who is in the here and now, and who just does the best he can, doing the next right thing, one day at a time. IMHO
where do they get it that he is such a good rhetorical charismatic speaker….he is boring…monotone style….or just a repeating cadence….no energy and the same gestures being repeated constantly….it’s just a laundry list of “I Will’s”……..I’ve slept through more exciting speeches….JFK and MLK speech maker he is not…………YAWN!!!!
Me, me, me…but that’s enough about me…let’s hear you talk about me!
Hey, I’m back home in Ohio now and can validly blog since I’m back from vacation (Anna7000…you can pay attention to me now)…
Objectively speaking, is he really bombing or are we too biased in our view. I can’t bear to listen or watch him…it literally makes me nauseaus and I’ve had a bug anyway and just drove 12 hours from South Carolina.
So, is he really all flash and no substance?
On the anniversary of MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech?
“I have a Dream – it’s all about ME”…..lol
For someone who says he can “bring us all together”
he’s doing just the opposite.

does he think anyone believes he can or will do any of this?? that kool-aid would have to be extra strength.
Also, who wants to bet me that matthews and olberman are nodding furiously while sobbing, watching this nonsense.
This guy is offering the moon and the stars. The money that it is going to take for all these promises would be atronomical. He’s basically saying that he’s going to soak the rich to give to everyone else. But what does he consider rich? It’s probably lower income than you think. This guy is so far out in left field, oh thats right, he is in a field. Mccain needs to go after him with everything he has.
this speech really is terrible. John Kerry delivered a better speech in 2004.
Al Gore was great, tonight. (although I cannot believe that gore was there) This is really terrible.
i am glad he is bombing..I hope they all wake up and realize what they threw away!
Going to bed…will catch the rest of the toga party on reruns tomorrow!
OMG he is spitting out the same old stuff..promising everything to everybody. Same old politician…this is not an inspiring speech..don’t see Hillary or Chelsea in the crowd, I am sure if they were there the camera would have found them. I can’t listen to this…he is such a lying thug..he stole this nomination ..this should ahve been Hillarys night.

HIT HIM WITH THE “EEEEEEEEEE”!
I love the way he says that he didn’t vote for the war. That’s because he wasn’t even in the Senate yet to vote one way or the other.
He’s not bombing if you consider the intelligence level of the Obamabots. It’s going to be reported as a great speech . . . we just know it’s all lies.
“YOU COULDN’T LEAD THE BOY SCOUTS”
LOL KENDALBLUE!!
I have a friend that’s a debate speech coach and he is just ripping “O” speech…
Good evening. Welcome home all brave PUMAs from Denver. Splendid job! I watched a few minutes of the BO speech and I also am totally unmoved. The man is so disconnected from himself that it comes across as very phony. He has no genuine emotional expression. He reminds me of a robot. I have never understood what people saw in him. He leaves me completely cold. I agree with another poster here– he was ticking off a list of promises that he probably cannot keep. I think he stole Hillary’s platform because he has difficulty coming up with an original idea. God help us if he becomes the president. Sorry, if I am being too negative, but it just baffles me how he got to be our nominee. I suppose the young disconnected people relate to him. Go figure.
Back to a movie–I have had it with politics for now.
#272 Lorelai
I’m sure in HIS mind he’s doing great… but he’s bombing big time to me and I’m guessing the Fox pundits will reinforce this in their analysis afterwards.
There it is no party but his party,hence the red and blue tie!
ha! HA!…LOL
Okay, for anyone not listening,here’s what he’s saying…..
Something about “hope” or “change”.

This is great! Love watching BO’s speech on the PUMA blog. Much more interesting.
#263 mzebest, I agree.
Fox was showing people that weren’t even cheering for Obama.
Hillary’s speech was 1000% better than Obamas
(a repost from downstairs, revised and corrected)

When I talk to others about Protesting the Elections…
I feel that in talking to others (shall we say in “campaigning” for our cause), what works for one person may not work for another.
To my liberal friends who supported Hillary during the Primaries (and who now lean BO), I try to present our PUMA case and talking points… AND, I try to enthuse them with the idea that this election gives us a great opportunity to send out a strong message and not vote for the inadequate ‘selected one’, but instead vote for a candidate who reflects your deepest values and principles (who, in their case, is the Green Party candidate or Nader)… even though you know she or he won’t win!
With my more Centrist/moderate friends who supported Hillary, I try to show them how McCain is better than BO… how McCain is the better choice.
I will also start suggesting to some of them that they might also want to vote heavily Democrat ‘down ticket’, to make sure McCain has some checks and balances (to keep the administration from going Right in ways we wouldn’t like).

What’s He Haw??
Bo on his Show getting down on McCain over the war. Goofey SOB. Now he is going to defend our nation and restore the legacy the GOP squandered.
SuperBO! WonderBama! Leap that tall building, now!
It all just changed into the policies he is going to persue. Now he is Bipartisan and Patriotic.
me, me, me, me, it’s all about me.
geeze he’s talking about changing politics.
But, he allows his little talking surrogates to accuse people of being racists. Damn Hipocrit.
more of the same…. blah, blah, I, I etc. He says we have lost our sense of country first…
I do not plan on supporting any up or down ticket democratic candidates!!! None of them stood up against the disgraceful treatment of Senator Clinton this year!! I think its time ALL the Democratic candidates hear our voices…. silence is as bad as acceptance or worse in my book! Any true reprensentive of the PEOPLE would have been screaming their heads off, just like we, but it seems that not one democrat here in MO had the BALLZ to do so. I know some endorsed Senator Clinton, but none STOOD up against the corrupt DNC in her or our defense! Unfortunately, did I have to wait till 2012 to vote against that traitor, Claire McCaskill (if she’s still around)! Maybe they’ll learn that WE THE PEOPLE are their bosses and that our votes count here in the “sticks” just as much as those big city folks votes do.
I know it won’t make a difference that I vote against them, but it’ll give me a reason to smile if it does!!
BTW, I am in Pulaski county MO.. dunno what precint/district
OMG… he’s going in dangerous territory now. LMAO
He’s taking both sides of every issue again.
Nope. This is certainly not his crowning glory.Worst campaign acceptance speech I’ve ever heard.
Wants to debate John McCain but doesn’t want to have anything to do with character or patriotism come into the debates with McCain….
Same old Obama. Can’t fight on a level playing field. Always has to get an unfair advantage. The race-card has lost its punch. Now he wants to claim he’s just as much of a patriot of John McCain.
Which side is he turning his head to? Left or right? How many times? Right brained, left brained or no brain?
I agree. It’s hard to follow, it’s not flowing very well.
#262 BrooklynNY on 08.28.08 at 10:43 pm He’s not making any sense….The speech is all disjointed.
Notice that they filled the arena with ‘white people’….good camera work!
He is racist tonight…..all he keeps acknowledging is his white folks…
Poor Michelle…….
Poor Rev Wright……
are you kidding me. McCain has a clear idea on immigration. Obama was not EVEN there on the immigration debate.
To tell you the truth what he is saying is scary……..
Now he’s going to “bridge divides”. yeah, right!
Still out of the loop with you guys. I forgot to mention that Sean Penn was actually at the Nader/Gonzalez rally in Denver. I don’t know what he said, but at least doesn’t seem to be a BO follower yet, like the rest of Hollywood. Good to see. Alright. Night all. -Lara08

I agree…it’s unbelievable how he’s made it this far.
kick the bum off the stage! bring on the hook!

He lived with his grandparents from the age of 10 (or so). Before that with his mother and step father.
His mother was completely out of his life by 1975.
He had a very chaotic beginning, but describing his childhood as “being raised by a single mother” is just not true. As a single mother, I find that pandering particularly insulting.
He’s a true narcissist. His chaotic relationship with his mother is typical.

Is it me, or is the “Nothing On Top” proposal being met with mixed results?
is it set in stone, or will it be fine tuned?
RACE CARD play – “I don’t have the typical pedigree”
Rambling on meaningless drivel. He reminds me of a drunk in a bar…..
This is hillarious………………… I feel like I’m there, in person, laughing my head off.
Thanks for doing the hard duty and watching the speech and other DNC/ONC goings on and letting us know whats up tonight. I have had enough BS from this pack of weasels to last a life time. Now I can act informed without letting them waste any more of my time.
I think his brain has been fried!!
Someone in the past, looked into the future, and said, “Never send a boy to do a man’s job. Especially if a woman could have done it better!!!”
OH MY GOD HE IS WAVING RACISM IN THIS SPEECH.
HAHAHAHAHAAH WHAT THE NAYSAYERS DON’T UNDERSTAND IS THAT THIS ELECTIONS HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT ME.
What BSSSSSSSSS
Not about him?
The Real Narcissistic one!
He “gets it”. Not the “typical pedigree”.
I misunderstood; it’s not about him, it’s about us.
We are going to propel him into the presidency . . . he can’t mean US.

They are really going to be stretching and scratching their heads to get 1 memorable line from this speech.
There are usually several from everyones acceptance speech….and I can’t find 1…….This speech is flat lining and he really needs to give it some life support because as a PR person he’s tanking in this speech…….
LOL….LOL….LOL….The speech that will be remembered from this convention will be Hillary’s.
Oh he really grimaced and had to force that out about Gay Rights to at least have hospital visitation rights…………ugggghhhhh

“#263 mzebest, I agree. Fox was showing people that weren’t even cheering for Obama.”
~~~~~~
My prediction is they will point out that he missed the opportunity to connect to the people by defining his policies. They’ve been needing to hear him say something other than changey hopey stuff and he once again failed to do so.
I think his signs should say “Change we can believe in,” but rather they should say “Change we refuse to define.”
The problem with the Change theme is that it’s vague and by not defining it — he’s praying on the ignorance of people to read into the word whatever they want to read into it (in order to win his votes).
Said to the audience: “This isn’t about me; it’s about you.” Got the biggest applause of the night. Now he’s gotten his fix of crowd reaction. He’s perking up. Narcissists Anoymous meeting happening tonight at Investo.
He’s prolly just trying to hide his Oedipus Complex.
when is this crappy speech going to be over?
I wonder if there will be fireworks. Perhaps the set will divide in half and water will shoot out as the stage raises accompanied by the music of “Thriller”.
He is all over the place… economy, terrorists, government, back and forth… I’m getting dizzy…
He just said if you dont agree with him your in trouble because you (we) dont have the right to question him in this day and age………
ok I’m caving in…I’m turning it on…too funny!
Hee Haaaaw – isn’t that Howie Dean’s line??
Love the commentary here. You are all hysterical! It is like calling a sporting event –the local color report. Me thinks the blush is off the rose–Obama was nothing but veneer and the veneer has now been scratched. What’s underneath? Nothing. We have all known this from the outset but the brilliant leaders of our party apparently never saw it! Its the old story of the Emperor’s new clothes. Forgive me for rambling, but I am still recovering from the stupidity and skulduggery of the DNC, and, yes, sadly , the American public. Remember the lunatics on the fringe are the visionaries–they see what everyone else wants to deny. Welcome to the lunatic fringe my visionary friends.
They’re clapping hard now. Probably hoping he’ll shut up soon.
a lesson in hypnotism……..mind control.
He is referencing MLK…
OK . . . now he’s talking about MLK.
I was there and it irritates me no end when people use that occasion for their own purposes.
I swear he is talking to the Clintons, old politics, the Democrat party of Roosvelt and Kennedy, he did not mentioned the Clintons @ss…
SO FUNNY alohapuma!!
This whole speech is him showing us how much McCain and his commercials have rattled Obama. Dear Diary, why is McCain so mean and accurate about me? I was just hoping to coast into the white house, unquestioned….
He was lousy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they clapped as I turned it on!!! Was that for me??
Awww.. it’s over!
If you are watching the BO Show, notice the audience. No kind of cheers like for Hillary or Bill Clinton. It is not there. Those people came for the bands and the party (not political).
We do not understand. He is going to change Washington. He is New.
Now he is getting milage out of MLK. He must be rolling over in his grave to have his memory used at BO’s Temple for his aggrandizement.
God Bless America.
Rock and Roll!
There was a banner flying over stadium this afternoon. Couldn’t read all of it from where i was. had a picture of bin laden and started “Osama says O…….com” couldn’t read rest of link
Is there anyway we can voice over his speech with PUMA phrases in it? What a video that would make!
I wonder if BO fired up some crack before the “coronation” His brain does seem fried!!
Well the biggest applause of the night was when he quit tallking!!!
He just stopped. The biggest applause of the night when he stopped.
It’s finally over
Hi sychoram!
Murphy – the tie is very important. I remember when our new president of OSU came to town and for the first press conference, she wore a blue suit(our rival U of Michigan colors) and people talked about that the WHOLE time she was here. (too bad, she really was a great president but it was a gaffe she never lived down)
If God was going to bless the United States of America, He’d get rid of that fool, FIRST!!!
The fireworks are woosy
ooooooh..fireworks!
well, that was STUPID !! Hillary kicked his ass last night.
that was all he could say ?? more Rhederic………..
Can I vote for his youngest daughter…cute…and at least she’s REAL.
It’s over I missed it? Damn I thought he was going to give the speech at sunrise with doves flying out of his…aspirations.
Holy mother… THIS MAN IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT MLK!!!! DON’T FORGET HE DIDN’T GO TO MEMPHIS. HE WENT TO INDIANA. He has ZERO connection to the real civil rights movement. He has not allowed ANY civil right leaders to speak at this convention.
Oh here we go… hang on for Obamagasim. Its cuming, it’s cuming.
OH MY GOD THAT SONG WAS BUSH’S SONG IN 2004
AGAIN THAT WAS BUSH’S SONG IN 2004. IT DOES MATTER WHAT MUSIC HE CHOOSES. IT DOES MATTER WHAT TIE HE WEARS. THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRAT!!!! HE’S USING PEOPLE WHO ENDORSED BUSH FOR MUSIC!!!!!
Hi Murphy .. glad you survived the Denver masacre…lol
#49 LivingGrace
God Bless You. You made m laugh when my heart is crying.
You are a true gift to us all,
Thank God . . . he finished. Fireworks, streamers . . .it’s a hollywood extravaganza.
Now for that drink.
Night all.
LOL. Rosemay57! We both were thinking the same thing at the same time.
Well the L Word was awesome as usual…i see I make the right choice!
Will be interesting to see McCain ads tomorrow. THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE THAT HAD THE GUTS TO WATCH and for reporting in.
Again…ALL OF YOU IN PATH OF STORMS BE SAFE!!!
“Let it be written, let it be done!”
Thank God it’s over.
Murphy, you really won’t approve my comment simply because I said I will probably end up voting for Obama? That’s despicable. Nothing in my post violated anything about the rules, and simply stated my opinion, just as you had asked for in the above post.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
They t p’d thier white house shrine
Denver will never be the same. The Messiah hath come.
As my friend’s nephew who hates to play soccer says in the middle of every game he has to play…
“Can we be done now?”
p.s. Has he parted the Red Sea yet?
WooooHoooo! It’s over!!!
Now bring on the Republican attack ads!!!
What a shame! A 143 days senator is nominated for the most important office in the nation, with no experience, just because the Democrat Party wants to make history by choosing the first AA, while Hillary has worked 35 years of her life for this country, he will loose in Nov, women will never forget this….
Y’all it is falling apart. I’m totally unmoved and after acknowledging OUR PRESIDENT, President Clinton, he then took a few back slaps at him.
I remember when John Kerry came out and said “I’m John kerry and I’m reporting for Duty”
it was awesome. there is nothing awesome about this.
Empty promises. Empty rhetoric and an “oh by the way, thanks to Hillary and Bill and Edward Kennedy.
#389 sandtraps – that is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read!
Fireworks!! Oh brother.
This is too much.
Action Plan: The 3 State Battle Ground State Plan
Ok the shock is over time to BATTLE. We need to target FL. OH and PA The most important battleground states in the election. We need to make phone calls to the voters in these states, Put out flyers, and get media attention in those states. Tools we need phones lists so we can get a phone bank going. set up calls base on time zones. We need to put out flyers informing voters of the real Obama and remind him of his statements about bitter, gun clingers, ect. We could share the the work load with many of the pro McCain anti Obama folks.
We have only 59 days and we can do this.
I turned it on for the fireworks but they’re pretty lame
Jesus Christ Super Star!!!
Wha’s with the DEPRESSING music????
I will vote straight republican for the “first time in my life!” District 15 PA Swing stat It don’t Mean a Thing if You Ain’t got that swing.
barnobo — I actually think Obama was brave to admit to drug use in his past. There is absolutely no evidence that he uses illegal drugs — he seems like a pretty sober guy. Though I have heard he smokes cigarettes (not that there’s anything wrong with that!)
Thanks Lorelai.
One time, in Denver, dances and I sneaked into a mcdonalds because we were STARVING to death, and she spilled a soda ALL OVER THE FLOOR!
I went over to a different table and pretended I didnt know her. It was SOO embarrassking!
WOW… nothing really new, same old song and dance. Frankly I am sick of him and his blah blah blah. I am sure they passed out the koolade before he got up there.
He was tough on McCain but we’ll see what next week brings. Sick of looking at Gorilla face,,, sorry MO. Now they have the cannons and fireworks going. Yeah, a celebrity.
I am voting McCain and repub straight down. If I voted for a democrate I would feel I was hooked on the hope dope.
McVoting for McCain. I’m not sure about the rest of the ticket in NC. I’ll have to research. I learned in my high school gov class voting for someone based on their party alone was not a good reason to vote for them.
Hmm…..and that was so long ago too….
I wonder if Oprah will invite him up to her box?
Bravo, PUMAs–You all made this bearable. We should save this dialogue–priceless. Thank you all for the comic relief. It was much needed on this end! Let’s keep the humor coming until November! This speech sealed the deal for me–Nobama, Noway.
To answer your question, I will be voting for John Mccain. I will only vote Down ticket dems who supported Hillary. Not sure what district I live I can find out. I’m in Los Angeles.
Didn’t watch the speech but Heidi Li’s blog said he gave Hillary’s stump speech almost line for line. I am not surprised, I actually had a feeling he was going to do that as he is trying to portray himself differently. What a slap in the face. I am disgusted beyond belief by this fraud.
Is that what ‘anti-climatic’ means?
I am in precinct SEA 46 in Washington state.
We have two great female Senators out here, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. I will vote for either of them anytime. But our female governor Gregoire can go to hell. She was on the BO bandwagon early and loud and he is doing radio commercials for her. Mayor Nickels has turned out to be a good mayor if he is up I will probably vote for him although he did support BO. If there is an equal Republican I will vote for the Rs. This party needs a deep purge and whom ever is left needs to sit through monthly education on blatant sexism. Oh! I mean alleged sexism.
I don’t know if he parted the red sea but , I bet the porcelain bus is active.
it just doesn’t stop………..
I don’t know if I can vote for McCain myself but I really want to vote for somebody. Maybe I should vote for Bob Bar or Ron Paul. I’m not sure who would be better though to hurt Obama and not hurt McCains chances.
Batman song, and the Olimpics are back!!!!!!!!
I have have not drank the kool-ade….however, I’m a realist… it was a really well-done speech. There was a very good balance of humility and confidence. obama practiced hard on this speech.
PUMAs there’s a lot of work to do if we are to win.
I heart the new orange ribbon and Dances photoshop skills!
#405 Interesting no coverage about Oprah being there. When she endorsed him she lost ratings. Probably does not want to lose anymore.
Some naughty PUMA posted Murphy’s BO Toga picture on Craigslist
OMG, the dresses of MObama and whats-her-name are horrible.
I bet Michelle is going to be pretty p’od tonight.
388 mick………………… LMAO !!!
REMEMBER THE TITANS MUSIC
I almost forgot to tell ya who I was voting for, “MC Cain” for me please…
well , my stupid best friend in Indian just called me BAWLING about how great this speech is and how historic it is , and why the F am I not having the girls watch it . I said if I wanted to watch a thug try to steal an election , I’d move to Venezuela . She hung up on me …
I truly think they should have had Nancy Pelosi hanging around the stage – in her toga – with a bunch of grapes. I’m sure the Chosen One got a bit munchie while being on stage so long.
McCain
I like Ron Paul better of those two.
#397 John, I think its a good idea to target a limited amount of states.
We need to send our small resources where they will do the most good.
I am laughing now the end was over the top—–I was worried for awhile -not so much now.
Has anyone seen these videos of when Tommy Christopher tried to infiltrate the PUMA Denver HQ’s looking for Darragh?
Voting McCain in NJ. Boycotting Lautenberg for taking money from the messiah before moving his support from Hillary. Lautenberg will still win but not on my vote.
It wil be interesting to see how the press reacts.
How much did thIs extravaganza cost? How far would it have gone to paying off Hillary’s debt? Or feeding hungry children??
even sipping grape kool – aid, he still sounds like a punk
Juan Williams on Fox just said speech was not motivating or inspiring or anything new….
Okay that was SO SO very anti-climactic…….Wooo fireworks…they didn’t do balloons because balloons aren’t green and the pollution from the fireworks is?
And that chamber music they are playing….where’s the get excited about this music and excitement.
That’s a wrap for Obama-siah…….how underwhelming.
Ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
409 Seattlegirl~~~”We have two great female Senators out here, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. I will vote for either of them anytime. But our female governor Gregoire can go to hell. ”
Amen and AMEN!!!!
Oh Shoot – Sunny PA – really?
#412 civilityforusa
A vote to a third party will take a vote away from both mcCain AND Obama (theyr would be tied)
BUT a vote from McCain WILL take a vote away from Obama. THAT is why I vote for McCain.
But only you can vote your conscience-this is FYI only.
The pundits are weighing in and Juan Williams is saying the specifics don’t match up with what he is saying.
around $400,000,000….thats 400 MILION….what a waste.
Fox saying useless speech-He said we wouldn’t be dependent on oil in 10 years-is he planning to change the Constitution to achieve that?
Being first to do something doesn’t always mean you will get a place in history. I’m skiping the blah blah too and going to bed!
Ah, yes. Jesus Christ Superstar. That’s what this reminded of!!!!
He’s already spent more than Clinton did on HIS coronation, 5 Balls and all!!~!!
429 4hillinca
Interesting but predictable I bet.
Not voting or writing in Hillary (can do that in my state). Just can’t vote for McCain. Republican party platform hasn’t been a friend of education “ever”. I see too many students that don’t have a chance when the Dept. of Education has been stripped to the bone every time there is a Republican in the White House and Congress. However, Ted Kennedy is no friend of education. He was the sponsor of NCLB. O doesn’t have a clue when he speaks of early childhood intervention. He’s reading what someone gave him to read. He wasn’t in the poorest school in town according to his biography overseas, Hawaii or the US. You can’t know what it is to be poor unless you have been. Murphy, I’m in Washington State, 3rd Congressional District, 19th District, Cowlitz Co., Kessler Precinct.
I must admit.. he’s a great orator… but, you know substance counts too… We need to know that he has high and mighty words, but he uses thuggery to get where he is….. WE KNOW HIS TACTICS…… WE KNOW HOW HE STOLE VOTES IN THE CAUCUSES… WE KNOW THAT HE THUGGED HIS WAY THROUGH THE CONVENTION… WE KNOW ABOUT HIS 90 LIES DURING THE PRIMARIES… WE KNOW ALL THIS…. WE ARE SO BLESSED NOT TO FALL UNDER THE SPELL!!!
The pundits are eating him alive on FoxNews … well, Juan Williams is but Kristol, not so much. He has drank the kool-aid.
Snow: there small but there the 3 battle grounf states that have decided the Last 3 election you lose 2 out of those 3 states and YOU LOSE….if each win 1 a piece the 1 remaining out of that 3 will decide the President. 3 State Battle Ground Plan
Murphy- that Dances – you can’t take her anywhere- not even McDonalds!
Hi SunnyPA!!
It will certainly be interesting to see what the media makes of the speech . . .
Wow, Juan Williams was not impressed, but cried after Michelle’s speach. Michelle got better ratings than BO. Interesting.
I once showed up at the OSU ticket office and stood in a long line for football tickets in a yellow and blue outfit (totally by accident) and boy did I get razzed!
It was a good speech but nothing more. He had expectations hyped up here. This was the speech that was supposed to fix everything. It was about everything but it fixed nothing.
Oh. And, I won’t be voting for Jim Marshall (district 8, GA), either. He wrote me back about one of our Hillary prowls (snail mail). Told me that he will “stay out of the Presidential campaign”.
Oh, okay, I’ll stay out of the House campaign – just for lilolehim!
HAVE THEY SHOT OFF THE FIREWORKS YET?
CAN I GET UP OFF OF THE FLOOR?
AM I SUPPOSED TO RUSH MYSELF TO THE HOSPITAL NOW?
SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR THE MARINE CORP, THE MISSION FIELDS, OR PRISON INMATE 12-STEP WORK?
WILL I BE ABLE TO WALK ON WATER, FLY TO THE MOON,
OR WIN 9 GOLD MEDALS AT THE WINTER OLYMPICS?
CAN I NOW MAKE SURE THAT OBAMA IS DEFEATED ON NOVEMBER 4, 2008?
I am not sure what he has convinced me of – I can’t stand to hear his voice!
#452 Big Cat
Do you mean Oregon State University? Orange and Black?
Was there something he didn’t promise ?
Sounds like a good strategy to me. Once everyone is through venting in a day or two, we can look at tactics.
I’m sure Murphy ,Maryland and Mama are already there.
I, for one, cannot wait to actually start doing something after this fiasco.
sorry, did I miss much. The whole time he was speaking I had a case of stomach ailment…figured what was coming from my heiney was pretty much what was coming from his mouth
Murphy, thanks for making me laugh on a night I never thought I could laugh. When I opened the site and saw the pictures I actually burst out laughing….
Oh, and I will be voting with the 1000’s of women who lost their lives fighting for the right to vote…STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET FOR ME….NO DEMS THIS YEAR NOT A ONE…I warned them all and said if you do NOT speak up for Hillary I will not be able to vote or help you this year and NOT A ONE DID….
McCain will do just fine while we wait for 2012 and HILLARY!!!
Also, THE ENTIRE TIME HE WAS SPEAKING all I heard was Rev. Pflegger making fun of Hillary and Rev. Wright saying GOD DAMN AMERICA…..
Remember Hitler..the BIG LIE is the easiest path to victory and the DONC and BO are the BIGGEST LIE SINCE so we better get to work!!!
CNN says he moved toward “that middle ground” another words he’s trying to reach the moderates.
Thing is, we all know he’s waaayyy out in leftist field.
Obama is a preacher….and not a good one. A good preacher doesn’t have to read a sermon!!!!
422 TexasTigress ~~~ OMF, ROFLMAO!!!! That was sweeeet!!!!!! TFF!!!!
I am in MD and I will be voting for McCain, UNLESS – they find enough stuff on BO that Hillary is put in the running.
After reading about Pawlenty, I think he would “look good” on the ticket. He has a nice looking family, wife very intelligent and well educated. And he has two dau’s that will offset BO’s dau’s on the campaign. He also has a lot of experience -which surprised me. The only bad thing I saw about him was a statement, in jest he made about his wife months ago, and it did not go over very well.
I use to say I would hold my nose and vote for McCain, but the smell is not near as bad as it was, and I may actually have a smile on my face in Nov when I vote.
Tonight was not about one person. It was put together by the entire party. I don’t agree with everything they have done but I am proud to be a Democrat.
There is no way I will vote Republican in this election.
HEY MURPHY HEY ANNA7000
Sorry, got into a political discussion with my daughter.
Lorelai – Welcome home. Glad you had a safe trip back. Sorry to hear you have a cold. Glad you can now blog legally again! And, yes, I agree that probably anything obama says or does at this point equates to something bad once it works its way through our somewhat biased filter! Such is being human, I guess. I hope that emotions triggered from tonight’s speech don’t set us back in terms of focus. I know I can’t go there anymore. I feel so much dislike for Obama and envy on some level because I wanted it to be Hillary up there. And I know those emotions can start to become toxic and fuel feelings and expressions that are utterly counterproductive and it then takes energy to get back on track. So for this next round, I’m just trying to stay focused on the essentials and try to block out stimuli that I know will only fuel nasty stuff inside that I needn’t revisit. I know I can’t stand Obama for a zillion reasons we’ve all stated and will never vote for him. I needn’t know anymore now other than where to go from here.
Ugh. Too many words. Too tired to proof read and edit.
481 jenniforhillary ~~~ Oh, heck, jenni~~~ur forgiven~~~ I’m certainly no one to judge anyone….cept for Odumba.
lorelai–born in cleveland myself..most of my family is in Ohio….
ANYONEBUTNOBAMA is good enough for me….
One of my republican friends told me that the Invesco field thing would have made her NOT vote for him even if she might have (not in a million years but you get her point). She said anyone who needs that much drama to say “elect me” is an EMPTY SHIRT….DUH!!
Call me bitter, call me angry, call me religious, call me hard working, call me gun owning, you can even call me RACIST but I am NEVER gonna FORGET!!! NOBAMA NOBIDEN NODONC NEVER NEVER NEVER….
That damn BOVIRUS is hitting us all over the country!!!!
Fox News – Charles Krauthammer loved it … says “he came off the mountain top”.
He thinks it was “a generic Dem. speech … was a very straight speech. Not soaring but it worked.”
Hi Sunny PA. Watcha’ apologizing for? Good to see you.
Was Hillary there?
Someone living close to Pelosi’s district needs to get a phone book and get us addresses in her district, both business and residence. Then we need to do a huge letter writing prowl. If all of us could do one book of stamps….we could make a serious dent in letting her constituents know what we think of her.
Mick
unfortunately for us…it did work
Everyone expected an over the top speech … it wasn’t. That’s what worked.
One more vote for McCain here in NJ. Too bad it won’t lead to any electoral votes.
PROUD to be a PUMA, PROUD to be a HILLICRAT….EMBARASSED AS HELL TO HAVE BEEN A DEMOCRAT….
BIGGEST SHAM BIGGEST FARCE BIGGEST UNCONSTITUTIONAL WASTE OF MONEY EVER!!
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR…never gonna vote nobama!!
Pelosi, Reed, Dean, Brazilla–watch out because when this ends so will your careers….
Fox News – Krauthammer says he may have “worked when appealing to Reagan Democrates.”
so eloquent and reached out to middle class. thunderous applause for him lots of specifics in speech very touching and emotional speech
hehehehehe just referred to his ss detail as his “handlers” line to get into speech stretched from invesco to pepsi center. those who went to denver can appreciate that in the heat!!!!!!!!
Voted Hillary in TX primary. Voted Hillary in caucus and was harrassed by Obots. I will be voting McCain in November. Not sure about down ticket yet.
That show was over the top embarassing. Same ol Nobama. All speech and no substance. I saw people get memorized by it. Sad. Still looked Hitler-esque to me.
Voting for McCain here in PA.
Will vote for Dems Down ticket -
EXCEPT supers like Jason Altmire, who took $10, 000 from Obama (AND $10, 000 from Nancy Pelosi, I believe) whose district voted Clinton, but he came out for Obama.
no point in trying to fool ourselves, this is going to be a harder fight than we had for Hillary.
McCain has so little personal appeal
Obama is good~~~~he makes me forget all about George Bush….and for that I’m grateful. But anyone there who shed tears had to be from Hollywood, or they were just laughing too hard.
#488Anna7000 – no need to proof or read. How eloquent and wise you are in your post. Thanks for the welcome back! I think I have the same bug as jennforhillary.
And you’re right. We have to quit fueling the toxicity and as someone said the other night- these idiots are not paying enough rent in our head to live there!
(I may have said that actually!)
Anyway, I can’t stand for Obama and really want to be positive but I can’t look at a headline or hear a newscast without wanting to hurl. Seriously. I dislike everything that man doesn’t stand for….and more!
Your wise words will begin my new day tomorrow – gratitude and serenity to change the things we can….
WE CAN DO IT PUMAS!
Karl Rove about to dissect it all on Fox News
#397 john – I think the 3 battlegrounds are Ohio, MI and PA – everyone seems to agree McCain has Florida wrapped up. Even Obama’s people yanked their commercials there. But I LOVE your idea. We have to mobilize to keep this loser out of the white house!!!
These pundits are INSANE…you cannot make people vote for you based on one speech…STUPID…
His ENTIRE history is one of racism, sexism, criminal activity, racist religious connections, money laundering, leaving poor people in the lurch, using affirmative action and then cursing this country….
ONE SPEECH that was written by the best head docs in the country…..BS!
I didnt listen but Fox even sounds like they are in the tank…Makes me nervous, but at least the worst is over and now the real campaign begins..I am afraid hes got the numbers tho.. All those cell phone numbers and email addresses. This is going to be a steep hill. Was Hillary there?
From what I read in the press, the Dems were getting some flack about the whole mile high stadium thing, so they made a decision that Obama needed to tone it down and come across as more intimate. Perhaps that’s why he didn’t go over the top.
My daughter who is pro-Hillary is now on the fence … said that she will wait until after the convention. I was begging her to remember the primaries…to remember the roll call. She said that she’s tired and just wants to “hope” like the rest of the village idiots. lol.
She said “ignorance is bliss”. ROFL
I will vote for McCain but I will look real hard at all the down ticket dems.
FOX is nonstop commercials with 60 second news soundbites, I think.
#499 SunnyPA
But will it keep the Kool aide drinkers happy?
Was th rhetoric enough to “relive the glory days” of the primaries?
Remember he is all show and no substance. When the show gets boring people change channels.
Republicans are having trouble finding people to fill 10,000 seats.
…she will wait until after the RNC convention
Sunny
Maybe she was right I feel like I haven’t smiled since the texas caucus
Decent speech by BO but Hillary’s was better. My Obama-supporting friends were in tears during Hill’s speech. They loved hers. Said it was so presidential.
This one, good but not so memorable. So they said.
McCain for me.
TXDem – Where have you read that?
I am not proud of the party and I am not proud to be a Democrat. Oooops, guess that’s why I am an independent now.
This was a stage show tonight, put on by a very corrupt group of democrats. They stole this election by breaking every rule and law that got in there way. The Democratic Party is an embarrassment to America at this moment in time. Only we can fix it and it can’t be done if people make excuses for them.
#516 Thanks Livinggrace
A lot of the initial reactions I’m hearing is positive. Surprising to me — it seemed so inappropriate and outrageous to me. But, I remember his speech on race. It was hailed as history-making immediately, but by the next day commentators were really looking at what he had said, and became quite critical.
Hey TX
I have no intention of listening to anything mc C says.
Otherwise I will lose the nerve to pull the lever
Tx Puma,
I don’t think the Republican worry about filling seats…they worry about the vote in November. That is something we dems don’t think about.
I will vote for McCain…first time in my 58 years that I will be voting for a Republican.
Obama is an empty suit!!!
#524 redraz9
precisely!
I was bored. It was the same ole same ole. He stole bits from everybody as usual. He promised the universe. The setting was absolutely audacious. Everyone must watch the Rev. Manning report from this evening.
Oh come on TX, if the Republicans brought in Sheryl Crow and other rock stars and said come one, come all, for free we could pack the house too!!
#518 TX Democrat on 08.28.08 at 11:29 pm Republicans are having trouble finding people to fill 10,000 seats.
Obama DIDN’T attract 75,000 people tonight. It was Stevie Wonder!!!!
No Hillary – rain McCain for me
murphy…and all the denver pumas I met this week in denver…I just want to say THANK YOU! It was an honor to meet so many folks from all across the country willing to take a stand against the dnc charade. I didn’t know what to expect when I headed to denver, but was so glad to be there once I made it. I’m not giving up…hillary is still standing, still going strong and still fighting for another day. she got hoodwinked and bamboozled this year, but now we must focus on defeating bo in november.
please don’t give up. do what you need to do, write in her name, stay home, vote nader or vote mccain…but please don’t reward dean, pelosi and brazille with the white house. they do NOT deserve to win and must be held accountable.
me personally?….i committed many, many months ago – I’m voting without reservations for MCCAIN…and most likely straight republican ticket. the dnc MUST hear us loud and clear and voting mccain is the only way to ensure bo will lose.
I can’t believe people are going to forget what the DNC and Nobama thugs did during this rigged primary based on one speech. I guess the kool-aid is stronger than ever now…….b/c of one speech.
I will not forget how Hillary was treated and I will not forget about Nobama/Ayers, Nobama/Wright, Nobama/Pfleger, and MO’s racist angry rants. McCain 2008, Hillary 2012.
518 TX Democrat
I don’t know where you got that from, but it’s not true. My best friend lives in St. Paul and she can’t get in. It is full.
I think the commentators are just feeling that “group high”. It won’t last.
I live in San Francisco,CA. I will be voting for McCain to protest and i will vote against Pelosi and Boxer and whoever else went against Hillary. We should get a list of who sold out and screwed her over!
Guess it will have to be McCain
McCain will be in Pittsburgh soon. I plan on paying him a little visit (not pushing a repub vote).
I’m still passing out PUMA flyers and talking to the students. The students seem to take to the “yes we can…but we probably won’t” flyer. I’m working on the flyer to take some of the color out some it doesn’t use so much ink.
I’m in FL…voting McCain.
I’ll also vote against those DEMs who supported BHO.
Jenniforhillary #510 – you are a genius. said perfectly.
this obama bs won’t work, especially once the debates begin.
I feel like I have whiplash from all the opinions….I just want it to have been a terrible speech and for people to wake up! What’s wrong with everyone?
My 82 year old mother in Cleveland said to me by phone tonight – you know, Hillary showed such class the other night – it was incredible. It strikes me that that “class” as well as “integrity” is mostly what Obama lacks.
I’m reposting from this morning a big project I’m working on that, as of this writing, has no clear ultimate end point. At the very least, I need to establish solid facts. Then perhaps craft an op-ed piece and/or submit a hefty packet to some press person or donate it to Murphy to use as she sees fit or I don’t know what. Meanwhile, I’m looking for reliable sources (major press, video links other than u-tube, etc) to support the bullet points. Most are not yet substantiated, a few are. It’s a work in progress at the very beginning stage. If anyone would like to post links to places where I might find evidence to support my assertions, please share. Just post a heading to make it easy to find. Thanks. I know this is a long post, but since there’s a new group of folks here tonight, thought I’d ask one more time.
WHY WE PROTEST
In this historic election year, when the press has been interested, it has expressed confusion regarding why some Clinton supporters won’t get behind Obama and support the Democratic Party. Many commentators, news analysts, op-ed journalists and others have stated that it seems unfathomable that someone who supports Clinton’s values and platform would not support Obama and the Democratic Party. What they fail to realize, however, is that the issue goes far beyond candidate preference. The core of the issue lies in how the candidate came to be the Democratic Party’s nominee in the first place.
It is has often been stated that Obama won fair and square and Clinton’s supporters need to “get over it”. However, Obama did not win fair and square, and herein lies the rub and is central to what many of us take issue with.
· The media was calling upon Senator Clinton to drop out of the race after Senator Obama won the Iowa caucus and continued the pressure throughout the primaries. In a rare, refreshing and well researched piece, journalist Eric Boehlert (4/30/08, Media Matters for America) describes the media’s pressure placed upon Senator Clinton to drop out of the race as being “unprecedented”. He notes that, historically, there has been no example of the media intervening in the primary process by telling a candidate when they should end their campaign. Boehlert cites numerous examples in the press, ranging from small city newspapers to national publications such as The Washington Post providing example after example of the media’s relentless pressure for Clinton to drop out of the race.
· The DNC was calling on Senator Clinton to drop out of the race early on in the primaries.
· The very nature of a caucus system is undemocratic and disenfranchises voters.
· Voter fraud and intimidation was rampant in many states, particularly caucus states. Clinton supporters were not infrequently accosted, some were even physically attacked. Sign in sheets were stolen, rules were not followed, and votes from people who did not live in the county or who were not living at all were registered, among other offenses, all to the benefit of Senator Obama.
· The DNC, repeatedly referring to “rules”, initially “punished” Florida and Michigan for holding their primaries earlier than they had been allowed to do, depriving millions of voters from having their votes fully and honestly represented. Florida and Michigan were states where Senator Clinton won. Once Senator Obama’s nomination appeared secured well in advance of the convention, the Obama campaign and the DNC then decided to give Florida and Michigan full voting privileges. Their willingness to make a dramatic shift in their position regarding the rules leaves anything thinking person suspect as to their motives for their decisions and the timing of these choices.
· The media did not vet Senator Obama, and instead gave him a free pass on numerous very important issues that deserved scrutiny. Conversely, the media persistently painted Senator Clinton in a negative light.
· The DNC did not defend Senator Clinton when the media bombarded the American public with relentlessly biased coverage, coverage that often treated Senator Clinton in a disrespectful way due to her gender.
· Although Senator Clinton ultimately won more primaries than any candidate in history and won the popular vote, the DNC continued to press her to withdraw from the race throughout the primary season. In so doing, they sent the message that they already had the candidate in mind who they wanted to be their nominee, irrespective of the fact that millions and millions of Democrats continued to go to the polls to cast their vote for Senator Clinton.
· In the days leading up to the Democratic convention, the Obama campaign and the DNC made it clear that having Senator Clinton’s name placed in nomination was not a done deal. Senator Obama engaged in negotiations with Senator Clinton regarding this issue and it appeared from several press reports (NEED REPORTS!!!) that Senator Obama had the ultimate power and final say so on this issue. With precious few days remaining until the convention, in order to ensure Senator Clinton’s name be placed in nomination, many pledged delegates began to collect the required number of signatures to be presented on the convention floor as an alternative avenue toward this goal. Some states (NEED DETAILS!!! ANY STATES OTHER THAN PA???) discouraging pledged delegates from collecting signatures, urging them to hold off until the results of these negotiations were known. At the same time, Senator Obama’s campaign began contacting delegates to inquire into how they planned to vote. (NEED EVIDENCE!!)
· The Democratic Convention roll call vote was a sham. Per an August 27th, 2008 CNN report replete with video footage, pledged delegates were pressured before voting to avoid any “drama” on the convention floor. The subtext being quite obvious: Cast your vote for Senator Obama in order to reduce the number of votes for Senator Clinton during the roll call thereby skewing the results so as not to reveal how very close this election was. Ultimately, the roll call vote was a sham and did not even come close to reflecting Senator Clinton’s historic achievement. Unlike Jesse Jackson’s historic campaign for the Democratic nominee in 1984 when his name was placed in nomination and his 465 ½ delegate votes were accurately recorded for the history books, Senator Clinton’s delegate votes ultimately did not reflect the will of the voters. As a result, the fact that she won more primaries than any candidate in history and that she was a woman will forever remain obliterated from the official record.
This is what many of us are railing against. We cannot support a candidate or a party that selects a candidate in the face of so many egregious acts. It goes against the very fabric of our democracy.
This is why in past years many of us who had our preferred candidate lose the nomination but who still voted for the Democratic ticket cannot do so this year. Because this is about far more than the fact that our candidate “lost”. This is about the very nature of how Barack Obama came to be the nominee. The journey has been anything but fair and square, honest and open.
For many of us who are Democrats, it is unacceptable for our party to operate in this way. We will not tolerate it. It will not stand.
The fact that Barack Obama is so inexperienced and has a history of affiliating himself with highly questionable characters is bad enough. The fact that the Democratic Party selected him as they have and exhibited a tolerance for misogyny and fraud is even worse.
Yes, we do protest and will do so for as long as we see fit. This is America, after all, and we hold our right to dissent near and dear.
No Ohio State. Lorelai and I are from Ohio and U of Michigan are our bitter rivals. Their colors are maize (yellow) and blue in just the shades that I had on. OSU football is crazy popular in Ohio.
Good night my friends, this bitter old lady needs to go cling to my guns
Im in Minnesota and they are having filling the seats. There is very little mention of it here. Pawlenty is not my favorite but then I used to be a proud dem and he is a republican. Mccain better pick a good veep, he really does need some zip and one more time does anyone know if Hillary was there with chealsea and the Big Dawg?
Why would anyone say this?
Tonight was not about one person. It was put together by the entire party. I don’t agree with everything they have done but I am proud to be a Democrat.
There is no way I will vote Republican in this election.
It was Brian Williams citing an article in an Ohio newspaper. I think it was Cleveland or Dayton. Sorry, no specifics.
hmmm… now that I’m a democrat I guess I could vote straight Rep. ticket. I have to do research on who’s running-
You have never in the past and I expect that you will never in the future see me on this blog at this time of night.
I want you to note for prosperity so that when we are rich and famous instead of ragtag we can all say “Oh yeah, I remember that.”
It is so clear that Murphy is home. This thread is on target, looking forward and planning on our next action.
It is wonderful to see names of people that I met in Denver. Hello to all. Safe home and every blessing.
Be wonderful to each other.
Was Springsteen & Bon Jovi CANCELLED???
I’m sorry, but I cannot vote for a coward, and in my books any Democratic candidate that didn’t have the guts to stand up to the DNC is a coward.. I heard more repubs standing up for Senator Clinton then Dems …
I would rather be an honorable man standing for what’s right than a coward following others by falling in line!!
Peace PUMA’s its bedtime for this fat, bitter, gun toting, middle aged, middle class white guy!
Lorelai glad you made it home. Did you miss us ………. no, because you were blogging while on vacation. lol
Hi PUMAs!
I watched the speech. For those, who are not totally fed up with his empty promises, it was a moving, good speech.
On the part of facts it was full with holes.
Most people don’t get deeply involved in politics. Unless McCain proves him wrong on the points, he will have a hard time to win over those who are blinded by the visuals and the ‘eloquent’ speech.
I find it imperitive for me to vote for McCain. It is two votes lost for Obama: my vote that would go for the democratic nominee otherwise and the vote McCain just gained.
I understand party loyalty. Please consider, that this Democratic Party is not the Party we knew (to paraphrase our favorit Messiah)
Our problem has grown beyond Hillary. The current party leadership will stay and poison the party if Obama doesn’t lose with a landslide.
The Democratic Party has to be reclaimed by the true democrats! It will not happen if Obama wins the elections or loses it by a small margin.
Every vote counts.
BTW, I am in Ocala, Central Florida. It is a republican stronghold but many would have voted for Hillary.
Is Greta gonna replay the whole speech…Geez
I suppose it’s because I come from a family of Democrats and I have been voting Democratic since Clinton’s first term.
I don’t come from a wealthy family and the Republicans only look out for the wealthy.
Thanks TX Dem.
On TV it’s all been about the Democrats, clintons and obama. But out in the real world people are talking. Alot of people are scared to death of the idea of obama running this country. They would rather vote for Howdy Doody, or Alfred E Neuman, or The Lone Ranger no matter what party they came from.
Another problem for the Republicans is the hurricane. They are very worried about how to handle the convention if god forbid the hurricane hits
GD donna brazile on here.
oh my god, now they are saying the Iowa caucuses delivered the AA vote for him….
Thanks – I’ll check out Ron Paul some more
I am voting for McCain and, actually, not as a protest vote. McCain is simply the better choice between the 2 viable candidates. I wouldn’t think of third party, because that just seems like a wasted vote (but any vote is fine as long as it’s not for Obama).
Welcome home and thank you for everything
I am a Republican who wanted Hillary. I will vote for McCain and will vote against all incumbents. My congresswoman is Republican and will not lose, but as a former Republican committeeman, I know that candidates do consider what they are doing when their vote count goes down and I know it does bother the ones that I have been associated with. I am voting against Durbin(D) . IL will go to Obama, but maybe I can have some effect on other candidates.
Vote out the bums! Nobama, Pelosi, Dean, Reid, Brazille, Kerry. Get them out!
I am in Illinois and I will vote for MCcain
and since Obama, Durbin, Jackson jr.
I will vote a straight republican ticket
I voted for Hillary. I love the Clintons. The best years of my life (so far) happened when Bill was president. Last night reminded me how great things were with Bill in the office.
Did he really say Mccain has no record.. He has no record. They are predicting a 10point lead coming out of this..
Well well well CNN just talked about how Obama continued what Howard Dean campaign started 4 years ago. yes, thank you cNN we know that DFA and Howard Dean chose Nobama.
Unfortunately, my entire family, including my four kids are voting for Obama. We’re trying to get along, but it’s been hard lately. I’m trying to convince them and their listening some.
I live in St. Louis Missouri my state is a swing State. Right now Barry is ahead by a small margin. St. Louis city and Kansas City Missouri is where Barry has most of his support. (The cities is all so where he and McCaskil can commit voter fraud and steal this State). The rest of the State went for Hillary and is very conservative. We do have alot of Universities and colleges (sorry my spelling is very poor) in my State. For the first time they put voting machines on college campuses in the primary. The youth voted in big numbers they did not have to leave college to go vote. They made it easier for the youth to vote then for the seniors and disabled. Because we are a swing state and the fraud that happens every election I will have to vote for McCain in order to make sure Barry does not win this state. **** I am the puma leader in St. Louis and our group decided to go to McCains Campaighn office and introduce our selves. This was a group decision. We all so thought we might be able to use there resourses in some way to get out the word for other Hillary supporters to join our PUMA group etc. We do not have much money we are the Hillary voters under $5o thousand dollars (try $8000.00) and can not afford to print poster and fliers etc. Well they called Tuesday this week and asked us to come to the campaighn head quarters this Wednesday, that the media wanted to interview and film the Hillary voters for McCain. We went and when we got there they wanted us to work on the phone banks the media wasn’t there. Finally one news station showed up and he asked where are the Hillary supporters and the McCain people said thats your girl. They had a plant she new the questions before hand and they did not interview or mention or film us pumas. We were angry!! We felt like our own party betrayed us and on the day that Hillary stopped the roll call vote and gave the nomination to Barry herself, and then to have the Republicans decieve us was to much. With all that said we Missouri PUMAs know we must vote for McCain in order to keep this State out of Barrys hands. We also have several down ticket folks that must go if we are going to bring back the democratic party to its rightful owners and that is to the people. So Murphy I will resend my e-mail to you for the 3rd time after the holiday and let you get some rest to see about the posters we ordered and the t-shirt. So to sum it up we do not like what we are going to have to do to defeat Barry in Missouri it is killing us inside!! But we know we have to do it for our Country and for the future of the children and all those who come after us. So please allow each PUMA in each State to decide what they have to do in their State to keep Barry out of the WH. Each State is different and will call for different action. Trust me we do not like what we are having to do, but we have no choice not in Missouri! Pray for us we need all the help we can get!! St. Louis Missouri PUMAs
No truly great man ever begged for followers. They followed gladly, without persuasion. Crazy Horse NEVER looked back to see if anyone was behind him. And Jesus never asked for help carrying that heavy cross up the hill.
You make me sick, Obama!!!!
OMG comedy central is slamming Obama, Voter fraud,Messiah immage,clinton bashing,the exceptance speech and all its great!!!
i watched it and watched PBS coverage not as nauseating– they made some good pts about being outside being a bad idea– i also thought the set looked like the pres. seal or something w/ the blue carpet etc and columns representing white house– even though i know they said it was more of a greek or roman temple design- whatever it was, the windows were very distracting– it just seemed unnecessary that whole set—-
also there wasn’t the intimacy and excitement you feel in the “conventional” convention space- He was so far from the audience. you didn’t feel that sense of warmth either ( not that i ever did but just speaking from political communication standpt); he just doesn’t connect in his speeches imho- it boggles my mind that someone in the media was calling it “nothing short of a symphony” wtheck??? again it just baffles me the reaction some have to him. still i tried to be open minded in just listening to the quality of his speech, and i just don’t hear it….
and the video that was supposed to convince me of his humility just magnified his lack of experience for me ( more community organizing blah blah blah)
positives -the girls looked lovely
So you really believe tonight was not about one person? It was put together by the entire party? What is it about the actions of the dnc make you “proud” to be a democrat?
i come from a democratic family and they are all embarrassed by the dnc. My dear old dad, who worked for unions in the south in the fifties, worked for Jack and Bobby ( we are from mass.), supported every democratic candidate in his life time has said he would never vote for a democrat as long as he lives. Called the party a disgrace.
In fact every relative I have who is still a democrat feels the same way. These people made the democratic party and want nothing to with it.
Oh and I don’t think the PUMAs who are still democrats feel that this was for them.
Thank you it is good to be home. I sure hope that the airline finds my missing luggage.
Oh well!
Anna 7000 – I have an article by Mr Freddoso (author of The Case Against Barack Obama) that was excerpted in Wall Street Journal last week. My neighbor left it for me – she was bringing in my mail and cut it out for me-
“Mr. Obama writes that even if the voters were not impressed by this speech, “enough of them appreciated my earnestness and youthful swagger that I made it to the Illinois legislature”
In real life, it did not matter what Mr. Obama said on the stump or whether South Side voters were impressed. What mattered was that, beginning on January 2, 1996, his campaigners began challenging thousands of petition signataures the other candidates in the race had submited in order to appear on teh ballot. Thus would Mr. Obama win his state Senate seat, months before a single vote was cast.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Mr. Obama’s petition challengers reported to him nightly as they disqualified his opponts’ signataures on various tchnical grounds – all legitimate from the perspective of law……it goes on and on…..
“The most dramatic examples of Mr. Obama’s commitment to old-style plitics are his repeated endorsements of Chicago’s machine politicians, which came in opposition to what people of all ideological stripes viewed as the common good…..Mr. Obama is not the reformer he now claims to be. the real man is the one they know in Chicago- the one who won his first election by depriving the voters of a choice.”
Sound familiar?
Fox News – Greta asking if he can deliver on all the “dazzle”.
Frank Luntz predicts a 10 point bounce in the polls. No surprise there, but it won’t hold.
Greta says it will all come down to the debates … I agree.
Next up, McCain’s VP pick tomorrow.
Wow, Frank says McCain should do his speech “townhall” style … no teleprompter, get down with the crowd. That would blow Obama’s speech away cause McCain is really good at that!
Shouldn’t we all take our lead from Bill Clinton and Candidates X & Y?? Just because we agree with candidate X’s policies (Nobama) and only half of candidate Y’s (McCain) we can at least trust that McCain will be able to get those 50 % done because he has actually worked with all of us democrats over the years to the point that his own party wanted to disown him. I’m a lifelong democrat who is happily and proudly voting McCain!
I’m glad everyone made it home from Denver safe and sound and Lorelai made it back from vacation to join us on this auspicious night. Thanks for the commentary everyone, it was great. Goodnight.
It was not a bad speech,he just promised way too much. HE is going to fix every thing for every body.There were several veiled comments out of Wrights rhetoric. He also used a line out of the movie American President,the whole crowd got quiet for at least a 30 second pause,I mean really that is a favorite movie.
He and Michelle used the same phrase almost every time they have spoken, This phrase was used in her speech as well as when they showed the pre movie of him tonight,if any one was paying attention it was the phrase that attracted her to him at an underground political meeting….Maybe someone here will be able to repeat the phrase.
In the meantime I am going to check on Youtube to see if I can find it.
Or study Alinsky, or befriend Ayers, or go to Wright’s church for 20 years or worship Malcolm X, just to be a ‘good ole boy’.if he is elected it’s because we fell asleep on our watch. Period!!!
PA is a key state and Pittsburgh is a very key city. John Kerry won PA by 2 or 3 points………only because he won Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, lost everything in between.
I’m giving obama Philly, but he will have to pry Pittsburgh out of my cold, dead hands.
“p.s. Any brave Puma out there who can report on The Precious’ speech?
——————————————————–
I enjoyed a fabulous homecooked gourmet meal, with great company, and obama’s acceptance speech blaring from a 4″ tv set on the dining table.
His speech was a snooze… same (same ol’, same ol’) standard applause points that every candidate makes.
Everyone is promised a rose garden. His speech was reminiscent of gwb’s speech. Hit all the points, include god and scripture, how he’s going to fix broken politics,
how everyone deserves respect. Basically he promised and encouraged all the things he has flip-flopped on, and the promised the opposite of all the rude behaviors, that he himself exhibited during the primaries. Just your typical hypocritical obama bs.
speech
That ten point bump they are predicting won’t last until the first debate.
Then when people finally get to see them side by side, and see how badly Obama will perform one on one, he will go down in a hurry.
The GOP has not even begun their attack on Obama, now that he IS the nominee, it will be “Katie Bar the Doors”.
Welcome back, Pumas. While you were working hard in Denver, I marched for women’s equality day and rise Hillary rise events held in Sacramento, CA on the 23rd and in S.F. on the 26th. Toward the end of the program in S.F. an Obama or Larouche group person gave me an education on filthy language 101. Wow, what hatred! He insisted I was voting for McCain (more filthy expressions) because HRC was not going to get the nomination. Next day the S.F. Chron (after HRC’s speech in Denver)carried a horrible sexist cartoon (pg.8 Opinion pg) showing Obama (looks ok) on a
donkey(looks ok) and Hillary(looking like a JA) riding backwards on the donkey behind O. IMHO this is exactly what we did not speak out against when we saw it being done. Tom Meyer’s name is on the right-hand side of the cartoon. I’m writing to him tomorrow!
Again, welcome back and a big thank you, Pumas.
It was a flat speech delivered by NObama, I don’t know where he’s going. To sum it all, it was very much Hollywood Convention, all the of frills and bows but no substance.
Damn Straight SunnyPa!!
SunnyPA – I did miss you because I was invisible on the blog…….thanks for the warm welcome back! Ready to get my claws out!
Welcome Mick.
Has anyone told you about the game we play? Whomever is first on the new blog Murphy posts has the honor of making a donation to PUMA PAC.
you know what’s really weird. This looks like ESPN gameday. It totally undercuts this presidential candidate. CNN commentators are out there and the Obamites are behind them with signs and screaming O-BAMA. It’s exactly like ESPN gameday. It’s bizarre.
I was brave: I figure you have to look the enemy in the face and KNOW them to defeat them.
The Speech: I am trying to be fair (I am registered Independent since leaving Democrats in 2000; I will be voting McCain.)
It was very moving to see the huge crowd, in particular faces of the AAs. I couldn’t help thinking that the set, sound, over-the-top staging of an image, was a bit too. . . Hitleresque. I found it extremely creepy.
The speech was uplifting, well crafted and well delivered. All charisma. It scared me, because Obama has such a gift for working up a crowd to an emotional high, that I think they don’t really HEAR what is and isn’t said. As Greta says, the “Words are dazzling. . . but you still have to deliver” . . . and as often is the problem with Obama, there was a lot of emptiness.
Obama talked a lot about what “I” will do (I find this interesting, most candidates talk about what “we” will do. But for this man it’s always “I” this and that.) He explained little about HOW he will do these things. The one instance he tried, was when he addressed how he will PAY for all these promises. He will examine the federal budget item by item and take out programs that don’t work, and cut those that do to be more economically efficient. (OH. WELL. It’s pretty simple then!)
So in summary, his promises show a lot of flash and stir emotion, but really hold no substance, and show a lot of political naivete.
He also made a point of talking about how we need to be more civil in politics, and speak differently about those on the other side, then – as pundits on FOX pointed out – he proceeded to whine about McCain, by name, for 20 minutes. (As Fred Barnes said, for someone committed to civility and “new politics”, he was sure using a lot of ugly attacks and old politics!)
So it was the usual glitz – extremely rabble rousing, extremely emotional crowd – - and didn’t say anything new.
Don’t worry PUMAs – after everyone comes down from the high tomorrow and the Repubs start chipping away at it, this speech will lose considerable sparkle. The inconsistencies and lack of logic will be examined.
MEMO from McCAin camp to media just now: The McCain VP will NOT be leaked tonight, as they feel that tonight is Senator Obama’s night, and they will leave the Dems to enjoy it, as they hope the Dems will do the same for them next week. Also McCAin released a video congratulating Sen Obama unconditionally on his nomination. (WOW.) Did you all see this?????
I would give anything for mccain to pull ahead in the polls – a complete rejection of that ego-stroke of a speech. they would have to call it the obama dip, not bounce.
I’ll be voting for McCain. Rep is a strong Hillary supporter so I’ll vote for her. Will research others before deciding. Senators Schumer & ((Hillary)) are not up this year. I’m in NY 18th. No longer registered dem. Left party after 44 yrs because of Nobama’s illegal selecting. Cannot stand anything about Nobama. Country first. Party distant second. Still think something will derail BO before Nov. 4th.
Lorelai~~Then we need to set up committees to challenge EVERY vote cast for Obama.
I’m hitting the hay too! I’m beat from all the driving….
The last two nights remind me what life is like when the president cares about the middle class, which is where I am.
I am not backing out of my support for the Clintons but honestly, I don’t like what has happened the last 8 years and McCain of 2008 is not the McCain of 2000.
If McCain would get up next week and go back to his 2000 positions on issues then I could vote for him. But I think he has sold out to the party.
Mccain is doing what he can to get his base behind him. I do not think that is what will happen when he gets in. He is a maverick and will continue that way. He doesn’t have the same opportunity as Nobama has.. Lie and decieve about one of the best presidents we ever had and then parade them out in front of the world to get the nomination, he has W.
I saw the McCain ad today. It showed John McCain has class.
Yes, Philly will definately be Obama but also in some suburbs. I was shocked at the breakdown in the primaries. So nothing in between…not convinced, unless the GOP expose/do damage
Hi all. I’ve never blogged before, but I wanted to thank all of you for the inspiration and support you gave me with knowing. I have read this blog almost everyday beginning with HRC’s campaign suspension speech. I am an AA woman that migrated to this country as a permanent residentfrom the caribbean 21 years ago. I became a citizen in June 2008 because I wanted to cast my vote for Hilary. I contributed about $2,000 to her campaign. I held my hopes out until the roll call yesterday, and like so many of you, I could not sleep last night. I did not watch the coronation tonight and I do not want to hear it. I’ve asked my husband, who is a BO fan to lock himself in the room so I can’t even hear it. He also became a citizen in June and I was hoping we could vote for Hilary together. I will vote for McCain and encourage everyone I know to do the same. Murphy and the rest of the leadership gang… thank you!!!
I didn’t see Hillary in the crowd. I was watching fox
O.K. So the attendance was 75K, then I heard 80K, now Greta states it was 85K. Tomorrow it will be 500,000 screaming adoring fans stacked up in piles packed into Invesco field.
61 is being picked apart on Larry King
Larry King Live has some good GOP critique of the speech. But what about the lights, fireworks, columns, etc. ? I feel like the “emperor had no clothes” on, and I wonder when the press will point that out. I thought it was OUTRAGEOUS and INAPPROPRIATE for a Presidential speech. Like it was to help hide his lack of content.
Obama pick Joe Biden because he’s from Hillary’s home town of straton. Obama knows he in trouble in those rural area’s, he couls win Philly but if he loses the rual area that Clinton won he loses PA. That was one of the reason Biden flew to PA yalking about his PA roots.
No president republican or democrat can lose 2 of these 3 states and become president….FL, OH, And PA
Hello Pumas,
I watched all the speech coverage on Fox. Obama’s current plan is to now paint himself as a conventional / traditional democrat, and he is attempting to woo Clinton voters and Reagan democrats.
His speech was safe, generic, and every topic was likely poll tested.
I didn’t like the crowd numbers; I just do not like that sort of scene for politicians in America. Crowds like that do remind me of places like China and olden days in Germany. It was smart to not use his usual soaring rhetoric because it would have been down right terrifying if he had.
I do care about a lot of issues Obama brought up, but what is sad is that I know so much about him and cannot trust him. I already know who he really is and that does suck. It sucks that Obama sucks.
There is something else I find rather unfortunate: Obama keeps allowing folks like Pelosi and Dean to flit in and out every time he has major presence. Does he not know that a great deal of Hillary supporters nearly abhor these people?? I saw Pelosi speak after his speech, telling the crowd to get to work. I can’t even stand to look at her.
Obama’s stance on “change” as far as old politics as usual, and all that…is horsecrap. He attacked John McCain and he lied in his speech. McCain’s camp released a statement claiming Obama’s speech was msleading. Ohhh, get ready republicans, Obama is consistently misleading. Furthermore, what sort of change is there by electing one of the most senior senators in Biden? Hasn’t he been in the Senate longer than McCain? It’s just silly. Meanwhile, Biden voted for the war, like McCain. So, where’s the “change”…?
I wish Obama was an All-American good guy who was experienced and ready. It’s just not the case.
Ok I found it the phrase is”The world as it and the world as it should be.”
I’ve got to admit, when ‘the one’ talked about the Clinton years, it made me nastolgic. We had money in the bank and two incomes.
go to cnn and vote
I’m going to cry. I am so afraid that Obama will win. I feel ill. Why? I think America is doomed. What is the point anymore? Everyone loved Obama’s crappy speech; his poll numbers are going to skyrocket; a hurricane is going to screw up the Republican Convention, a convention that won’t even be covered. I have a hard time functioning. To know that your country is this gullible is disheartening, discouraging, dismal, and depressing.
those are your target states FL, OH, and PA
Andy Kerry, and Gore was suppose to won also, don’t fret
win
I have confidence in our ability to make people aware of the dangers of electing 61.
It is scary, but my fear is what motivates me to take him down. We just have to work very hard to defeat him.
Good night PUMAs…Thanks for the laughs!
have a great evening!
Registered to support McCain , donated, bought the t-shirt (and the bumper stickers).
No regrets.
ALL OTHER ISSUES ASIDE; I want integrity returned to the American election system and BO is destroying it. Without this we have no future. Preventing a dictatorship is FAR easier than bringing one down once it’s established!
McCain ‘08
I did not watch the speech – thank goodness for tivo I could just fast forward it so I could hear the talking heads. It sounds like the people who are in love with BO, will continue to follow him, while many are still basically in a “show us the money” stage.
I agree that McCain has his work cut out for him, but I feel he can do it. I also feel a lot is going to depend on what comes out about BO, and how much the 527’s go after him.
If McCain wins by one vote though – it will be mine.
I feel it would be great, if the hurricane does hit NO next wk, if all the Republican delegates would just pack up and go there and help.
I’ve sooo had enough of all of this. I’m going back to living under Grace, where being happy is just something I decide to be when I get up each morning, and do my best to do the next right thing~~~which is to try to help all the women who come to me because they are struggling with life. What will be, will be, because it is the will of theCreator. Not mine, not Obama’s, not McCains or Bush’s. I have nothing to fear because angels are watching over me~~every minute of every day. If there is anything I can do to help PUMA I am always ready. Until then….I’ve had enough of all this. I go now. May the Creator bless you all with all good things.
Is Rezko Working With the Feds?
Now, sources tell the Chicago Sun-Times that Rezko has been seen at the federal courthouse as many as a dozen times since his June conviction. He’s been held since then at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Chicago.
MacAllen – Thanks for your offer to help. Won’t e-mail you, though. But, if you have helpful links or places to point me in terms of direction, please post. When you do, please be sure to type a heading that’s easy to find in this fast-paced blog. Thanks again for offering to help! Much appreciated. Whatever you can find that will help whenever you can find it is great.
larry king from cnn has a poll on his site asking if you are going to vote for OB. anyone interested should go vote and make thier voices heard on the ob network!
I had forgotten about the Catholic church’s involvement in the election now since Pelosi made her brilliant comment. That will not help Biden.
andy85719 – man have i been there. but, there are a lot of days between now and november and a lot will happen during that time. i tend to be an anxiety-ridden pessimist, so i tend to brace myself for the worst, hence, i could relate to the disasterous scenario you posted. however, try to have a little faith (as i tell that to myself!). and there’s only so much each of us can do. then, it will be out of our hands. the country, the world, has lived through every imaginable strife. we’ll get through this too, no matter what happens.
I copied your post and will go through it tomorrow. I would like to assist with the thought it will become a point of reference for all Puma’s…for inspiration, perspective, and back-up.
I don’t think we have to worry that much – there is already a vicious William Ayers 527 ad that has BO so scared he’s trying to sue through the department of justice! Buckle up, this fall it will be fun for the first time to enjoy the Republican slime machine
alohapuma – thank you so much. any help you can offer will be so appreciated and much respected by me, you can be sure.
No, Obama won’t win. No, not everyone likes his speech. His polls numbers are supposed to go up. Historically, there is always a big bounce after conventions, and usually the first party to hold convention gets the higher bump, which is normal. Obama’s poll numbers won’t stay the same for long. The hurricane won’t screw up the republican convention because… the republicans will likely (for good or bad) play on it, and use it to show that they can handle disaster and they can lead. In the meantime, I pray the hurricane does not hurt our country because Katrina was such a nightmare. If it does hit us hard, Bush et al will handle it a million times better than before.
Don’t despair in thinking that all of of America is gullible. It’s just not true. Americans, for the most part, are sharp folks. Obama’s crowds are gullible, but in reality, 70,000 plus and the media’s talking heads just do not account for the entire U.S. population.
Tomorrow, there will be a whole new news cycle. McCain will announce his VP, and there will likely be a massive response to Obama’s speech, flying in from all directions and many different people.
The general election only just started. I wouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating the republicans.
You know who I feel bad for – Juan Williams. You can tell that the nomimation of BO is so historic for him, and he is so proud of the fact an AA has been able to accomplish this. He got really emotional several times. I like Juan.
the one thing I found pretty sad was that the only mention of MLK was at the very end of his speech and I felt it was a half a mention of man how was one of the leaders that made his speech possible tonight, that and the fact he stole it from Hillary and her supporters.
I love Juan Williams too. he’s one of the smartest, most fair & even-handed pundits on tv. I never knew that infamous fox news really was fair & balanced until Hillary started running in the primaries. I had bought into the DNC b.s. until my eyes were opened this year.
I am also discouraged that half of the electorate is for this candidate. We will lose our freedom of speech. I was listening to the a Chicago radio station interviewing the researcher who is looking at the Ayers connection documents and they have been bombarded by obots declaring that he should not be on the show. The host invited the Ogre people to come on but they did not. These people are scary. Even if we disagree with someone’s stand, we respect their right to speak. It seems that his followers do not understand the precious rights that we have. Imagine what will happen if he is in the white house, everyone who disagrees with him will be squelched or blackmailed. I now believe that he is dangerous. Using a stadium to give his acceptance speach is reminisent of the Third Reich. They have a quick response team which attempts to silence those in opposition. Yesterday they suppressed elected delegates in a phony show of unity. He tries to destroy his opponents. I didn’t watch but he said that he will change Washington, he hasn’t even developed the negotiating skills required in a democratic society. How far will he go to get his way? What has happened to the Democratic Party? McCain is our only hope.
So grateful for the male Pumas here, and want to remind all of us what it took for women to get the right to vote.
****************
The Night of Terror
This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago.
Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.
The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote.
And by the end of the night, they were barely alive.
Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of ‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’
(Lucy Burns)
They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night,bleeding and gasping for air.
(Dora Lewis)
They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her
head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.
Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917,
when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right
to vote.
For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food–all of it colorless slop–was infested with worms.
(Alice Paul)
When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.
Oh yes, I can imagine that there is definitely a tug of war for blacks…for sure, simply due to the historical nature of it all.
Juan seems affected on TV sometimes, but then he writes scathing articles on Obama. Probably, he is more upset that there isn’t a good black candidate who shares his values. Also, I am not sure that he even likes Obama as an individual, but there is a pull, no doubt. I understand that. Reason is something we should lean on.
Remember Pumas…at no other time has OUR votes been needed so badly by BOTH parties. I’ve certainly always been taken for granted to vote democratic. Stay strong, because from here on out, it’s all about getting those Clinton voter types: Us.
Juan was emotional when Michelle spoke, but he was actually a little critical of BO’s speech.
I thought BO was trying to milk his ovation. At one point he kept saying “thank you, thank you” when the applause started quieting. He could have started, but he kept acting like the audience was still out of control. I think he was hoping to break Bill Clinton’s record for the longest applause recorded.
Finally — someone on Larry king Live says that his choice to be presented as a rock star really raises questions about his judgement!!!
649 safron
Yes. And they have awakened a sleeping dragon. Americans are deeply averse to taxation and tyranny. Global media has changed the perspective of the 20 somethings, but I believe (in the end) the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
There is a Universal Law that says, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”. I believe Obama is about oppression, but at some critical point he will be unveiled and Americans will turn on him en masse.
safron #649 you are so right. Bill O’Reilly is all over this story and he is going after BO about trying to silence free speech. BO is terrifying and his followers are scary, militant and cult-like in person. BUT if we democrats are scared think of what all of the Republicans in charge are feeling?! I’m confident they won’t let him win, they will do whatever it takes to defeat him and look at the last 40 years, they have a good track record of winning the white house.
We are having a heat wave in CA — I didn’t watch the chosen one — too much hot air as it is. I won’t even watch the commentary because they flashback on these speeches. I actually miss Sean tonight, but I bet he will be on a roll tomorrow! (Still cannot believe I am watching FOX…but very happy that MSNBC is coming under fire.)
Count me in on the PUMA “pact” — I’m voting for McCain.
I’m not in Pelosi’s district, but I’m on board for giving Boxer the boot. She is only in office because the Republicans have thus far be unable to find a viable candidate. CA actually has a large republican base outside of San Francisco. It is the Bay Area that is so liberal. The Central Valley and Southern CA are big time republicans. Unfortunately, she is not up for re-election until 2010 and is presently gearing up for a contest with “Ahh-nold.”
McCain should pick Dick Van Patten for VP.
I am in Texas…and I will vote Republican all the way down. I cannot support anyone who did not support Clinton. I will vote for Democrats on the next election if they behave…We need a new party….
PS Writing this knowing it won’t get much attention anad therefore won’t bring down too much wrath upon me from PUMAs: The photo at the top of the thread is silly. I can’t stand Obama. But it’s abundantly clear despite whatever some overseas press might have written, that the set/background they were trying to create was a replica of much of DC government building architecture, not a greek temple. I know the photo’s a joke, but, again, it diminishes credibility. Says we think this is trying to be a Greek temple set. Come on. It’s not. (It’s still absurd, but let’s call it for what it is. This is how DC looks.)
You know, I care about as much that an AA poser has been nominated for president for the first time as the rest of the DNC cares about the most qualified candidate who is also the first woman to get this far being forced out of the race by “alleged” sexist behavior such as being repeatedly told to sit down and shut up by her own party.
Ok, what happened about those of us who saved our recindication (is that any sort of word) for until this moment? I know there are a lot of us. Can we get a prowl to see how many we can get to change their registration over the weekend? I, for one, will happily register as an Independent and hope that one day the democratic party represents uhm..well, democracy again.
Prowl please!!
the site is a fake
http://www.johnmccainvp.com/
it has been rotating the veep short list candidates for a while.
alohapuma – i was also involved with boxer’s initial campaign. i can still remember sitting in the house of the person who hosted the small fundraising event. she had a video that the boxer campaign had provided and we all watched and were so excited. i’ve voted with such pride for boxer in every election. her behavior around this presidential nomination has disappointed me enormously and i’ve told her so more than once. that said, she’s an example of a complex situation, whereby, the reality is that she votes in ways that reflect my values. and, much as i’d like to send her a message with my vote that i distained her behavior and alliance this primary season, i doubt there’d be another candidate who i could vote for who would would represent me in congress well. at least i see no one on the horizon at this time. not so simple this thing of “punishing” some down ticket. in “punishing” them we may well punish ourselves. a conondrum.
Though we may fall into the pit that is depression, we must never resign ourselves to that which we can foresee, that which we can forewarn, that which we can forbid from ever transpiring. It is of most patriotic importance to stand by our convictions in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds so that we may chart our own future, our own destiny. Destiny is not a predetermined path, carved in stone, but a moist clay which we can mold into a work of art beyond our wildest dreams. When a man stands by his convictions, he can move the world-we can move the world. We can change this destructive path created by the villainous enemies of democracy. We can cast a masterpiece. I hope that together we can keep the dark forces of Obama from casting their own destiny, a destiny of darkness and distress. We must shatter it before it may carry the seeds of our destruction.
Kerri – My husband and I switched a few months ago after Obama was anointed. Kind of wished I’d waiting until now, but it felt like a statement to make then.
Hi, I saw your post and then looked up Pawlenty to learn more. I found this on youtube:
Pawlenty slams Obama’s ‘life oratory’
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8JfK67X-bM&feature=related
(and @# 664 Anna. Thanks!
#672: TX Democrat:
Yeah, I know. I was thinking though..I really do not know a whole lot about the VP choices for McCain. Not enough at all…and I am very curious now.
i think pawlenty will be the pick. lieberman is too old and romney wears magic underwear.
seattle…right on girl..
I wish American women would burn down cities…instead of getting breast implants and new diets…
I have never felt such hate in my life EXCEPT for pornographers and rapists and child abusers and animals abusers. I am not bitter, I am DAMN MAD. Democratic Party is an embarassment, and this charade is so OVER THE TOP Monty Python I cannot believe it is real. I still think I am having a bad nightmare…
I cannot WAIT for the Rovian Attack machine…and the ads..and the town hall meetings and the polls. THE ONLY THING I AM SCARED OF is the cheating. In Texas there was MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD (MASSIVE) and it was thug lead. I am a STRONG woman and they pushed and shoved and had numbers and it was SCARY AS HELL….
I will work harder than ever in the next 2 months to see BO LOSE, and with his loss perhaps from the fires I spoke of in our HEARTS democracy, freedom, and the right for ALL Americans EVEN GIRLS to be President will rise. If not, I will leave this country like Democracy will have left her….with sorrow but not willing to live the lie that BO and the DONC will most assuredly bring with them.
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR, NEVER GONNA VOTE NOBAMA!!
HILLARY IS MY PRESIDENT!!!
I don’t think Pawlenty is a done deal. Just as the press gave the impression Obama’s picks were narrowed to Bayh or Kaine, McCain’s campaign has been trying to steal some thunder from Obama today without crossing a line and receiving backlash for it. So, what I’ve read is that they “leaked” a few names to the press. The press loves this. It’s news. It sells. The McCain campaign loves it. They get some coverage. But the McCain campaign has said they are considering a handful of folks and won’t announce officially until tomorrow.
I agree that Lieberman is too old. McCain’s got to have someone with some relative youth and vigor to their image. I’m betting on Romney based on electronic markets predictions. We shall find out soon enough!
‘Night all.
Kerri, ya I was going to tell everyone to drop the party, but then I was wondering if many need to stay democrat to vote against certain democrats (Pelosi, Kerry). Also, I think I might stay democrat so that I can slap them in the face harder when they see democrats voting republican in November.
Then I will drop the dem party, and likely re-register to vote for Hillary in 2012 (whether it’s for the Senate or the White House). My bet is on the White House.
Anna
I hear you. I’m not in Boxer’s district anymore, but do know a few of the people who backed her and understand the depth of her relationships there and what’s she’s accomplished.
Really irks me that Hillary was so supportive of Bay Area Democrats, making numerous appearances there as First Lady. They all owe her a tremendous debt. I’m actually glad California passed. I didn’t want to know.
G’night pumas! I’m off to bed.
it’s pawlenty….neutral…that’s all we need someone not too many will hate…
he cancelled all his appointments tomorrow and ss arrived at his house today…
jennifer – can you post your caucus experience on here in detail so i might be able to incorporate it into what i’m working on. only if you want. i didn’t realize you lived in a caucus state and had a personal experience. if you do decide to take the time and feel ok sharing your story, please post a heading that will be easy to find. thanks.
good night…
To Hillary’s press release at Greatwire:
Sorry Hillary, you can talk till you’re RED…This Dems voting McCain instead.
Did not watch speech. Watched Redskins get killed again. Oh hum…..The Resevoir Dogs, a quick check in and now to bed. See ya’ll tomorrow.
President: Undecided but leaning towards McCain. I will wait until after the debates but won’t vote for Obama. Actually, would love to see a list of PUMA recommendations for Congress, Senate, etc.
jenniforhillary #680 – great points! I have never hated a stranger like I hate BO and NEVER thought I would wait with anticipation for the Rovian attack machine.
My mom is in Texas and one of the slimey BO men was so mean/scary to her at the delegate selection that he was forcibly removed from the place. These people are HORRIFYING. They are scary, angry, weirdly bitter men.
aloha puma and anna — I guess we have all contributed in some way to Boxer. I agree with Anna that she has up to this point best represented my values. That being said however, she ceased representing my values yesterday. If the election is a fraud and she helped it along, then basic democratic principle has been compromised. I personally cannot accept any democrat that participated in this faux nomination.
This election was in the tank from the beginning. Howard Dean set this all up! Was it just a coincidence that the DNC scheduled the convention to end on the anniversary of MLK’s famous speach? Gee, you think Dean had a plan? We need to remove Dean. That’s my goal.
Dean,Pelosi, Reed,Brazilla,and every single DEM who either conspired OR failed to speak up….
GET RID OF THEM>>>>>out with the garbage!!
694 kasota
Removing Dean is critical to getting our party back. Who would remove him at this point? I would have to be Obama right? Asking whoever knows…
TOPIC: Home Sweet Home / Home from Denver
“What I did on my summer vacation,” LOL.
Denver was a great city, the locals there are very friendly and there are MANY Hillary supporters among them.
A good example was yesterday when a group of us were making our way from the train station to the Convention Center carrying our signs and chanting along the way. We stopped in a restaurant to cool off and the restaurant manager came over real friendly and talked to us and wanted to know more about PUMA. I gave him a PUMA sticker & the URL and a big PUMA hug.
When I went outside to see what happened to antifish and goanderson, there they were on the sidewalk w/a couple other PUMA’s talking with people who had been walking by and giving them the lowdown.
On the other hand those who were visiting Denver by and large were Obama bots and not ready to listen to much of anything. They were having an Obama High, getting ready to smoke the Obama Hope Bong in Mile High Stadium.
Anyway sorry to ramble, maybe only getting 3 hrs sleep last night has something to do w/it??
I did MISS everyone on the BLOG, and missed Blogging a lot! How is everybody doing, snowtiger, headclunker, 007girl, Anna7000, firechief, et al??
LASTLY.
MURPHY!!!
YOU did an outstanding job organizing and herding all of the PUMA’s. PUMA headquarters turned out to be THE hub for all of the pro-Hillary groups in town who came to us for food, shelter, conversation and refuge.
p.s. Would have been here sooner blogging tonight, but sadly just spent one hour replying to “friends” criticizing me for my decision to be a PUMA and go to Denver.
Sigh.
p.s. RE: Invesco Stadium,
“Invesco” rhymes with “Rezko,” LOL…
Hillary Rules…I CANNOT WAIT…I am going to tape them and play them over and over….
And before anyone gets politically correct on me I DO HATE THEM. HATE HATE HATE. We need to react and then get proactive. I do not dislike them, I HATE THEM.
I live in HOUSTON texas and what I saw has changed my entire life. I thought I had a handle on reality, but I was NAIVE. No longer though….
As a jew and a white woman who is over 30 I can tell you that I am taking this election as a matter of life and death. There is principle involved, but there is also the issue of day to day life involved. What BO and his machine represents is EVERYTHING horrid and if he gets in it will be the end of this country. It will be the end of America, and to those of you who cannot see it all I can say is that ignorance is bliss but we need you in this fight.
I had a friend who stayed in Denver to read the crowds, and she said the majority of people who were in the stands were ill informed black people. She wore her HILLARY button and was attacked as a racist. NO MATTER WHAT these people are going to be furious because if he wins, they lose, and if he loses, they assume they have lost.
The race war, the big lie, the fascism, the selling of America has started and the ONLY question is can we stop it.
Even as I type these words I realize that I may come across as radical but in the last year I have read almost every SINGLE thing written and I am very sure of what I sense is happening.
I hope that there are still enough intelligent Americans, Racists (yes, I said it) and Hillicrats out there to defeat the BO machine…this time. Who knows if we will win next time…
GO PUMA…freedom fighters of the 21st Century and beyond!!
GO HERE!
Hi all, I’m a little cross-eyed from reading all the posts -
Murphy, thank you for all you do.
The two I’m sure about electiontime is NObama, probably McCain, see how that goes,
and NOWexler.
The others I have to study carefully to pick out any traitors.
And NO to known traitors.
alohapuma,
That is a good question about Dean. Today at the airport we were talking about “next steps” for PUMA.
I said I thought we should focus on gender bias in media reporting, continue discussions for forming a third party, and continue support for Hillary Clinton.
goanderson (are you home yet, go?) said that she thought we should also work hard for the good people out there like Cindy Sheehan.
Comments on any of the above??
p.s. still can’t believe I actually shouted “Sexist Pig!”
It felt good. But it’s funny the media chose that chant only. Heck we chanted probably 8 or 10 other great things, including “Caucus Fraud, Caucus Fraud!” and “Let the Delegates Vote!” and “We are Change! We are Change!”
I want all PUMAs to wake up tomorrow morning, see
this, and celebrate.
I have a thought that …it is always the case that poll numbers jump after an acceptance speech.. no need to worry, for with our help they will come down!!!
I thought of a thief with a gun in his hand and an eloquent speaking ability when I watched Obama tonight. He is trying to encourage everyone to give their freedom away because he has a gun in his hand.
He and his followers used thuggery on Hillary, on the DONC and on the American public. He stole everything he ever had put his hands on. He stole money from his supporters for the big extravaganza tonight… He stole money from his supporters to take his world tour… He steals money for the increased security around his acceptance speech from the American Public’s taxes… He stole the election in Chicago from his mentor…
He is a thief and one who steals the hearts of people… unsuspectedly is still a thief.
We must continue our business here… We must continue our prowls… We must continue to expose this fraud… We must continue with all of our fervor to make this known to the American people who love this country.
We must, for we are the ones who are fighting for the America WE love, our freedoms and our country.
Do not get discouraged …we have only been at this for 2 months now and look how much we’ve already accomplished. We must stay active… People on the news and around the world are watching us already.
Remember, we are Americans first… we are not whiners like “precious”… We will be heard, we are being heard… and we will make a difference…
I know in my heart of hearts that you all are as brave as anyone facing the gun of a thug…
JUST SAY NO DEAL… PEOPLE UNITED MEANS ACTION… HIREHEELS.COM….. DONEDEMS.COM….. ALL OF OUR COALITION WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!!
Hi Firebelle!!! XXX (can’t make the hearts!)
Oh, it’s good to be “home”!!
#696 Alohapuma:
the chairman is chosen by important Democrats. I think it’s the elected Democratic governors, senators, and Congress. But we “technically” do not have a direct say.
That being said: I was an active member of Democracy for America (formally Dean for America). through them i was involved in writing letters to get howard Dean elected. We threatened with removing people during primaries if they didn’t vote for Dean. We threatened with voting for repubs if they didn’t vote for Dean… etc.
The election of a new party chairman takes place I believe after the inaguration in January and is a 4 year term unless the next Democratic nominee in 2012 removes them earlier.
I have a slight suspicion that HRC would have removed Dean had she gotten the nomination.
I found out a little while back that the election of Dean occured in 2005 when HRC was out of the country on buisness (I believe in Afgahnistan but not sure) and that she did not actually vote in the election of the chair. I’ll see if I can find that information again.
Anyway, now that I have resigned from all of my positions in my local party and now that I am out of DFA, I don’t know who is looking to run the party. But I believe that 2004 proved that we, the members of the Democratic Party, can have influence over the nomination of the chair. HD will be completely out of favor if Nobama loses this election. They will ALL have egg on their face and I’ve been told by some higher up friends that there is NOTHING as lonely and as bad as having your as- on the line in the party for the presidential election and loosing it. Now, of course that begs the question how in the hell Gore’s campaign chairwoman Brazilla got back into any kind of power at all. But, Dean will not be able to show his face in this party for (at least 8 years) if the precious loses.
You all were awesome in Denver. Thank you for being there.
I’m a bit blurry-eyed to give the comment your post deserves.
I feel strongly that a media boycott of some kind (not long-term) would get attention.
Exposing caucus fraud is important.
Removing the culprits Dean, Pelosi, and NObama!!
G’night Pumas
699 jenniforhillary
isn’t it so pathetic the way he uses the race card?
After much anger, disgust and crying that Hillary and Bill gave those speeches, I’ve concluded that it’s better that they did.
This way people will be able to maybe judge for themselves.
I sure hope we get somewhere with the Berg lawsuit.
GOOD NIGHT ALL…….GOOD NIGHT ALL YOU BRAVE.. PUMAS
Good night bmw60, good night wonderful Pumas,
I love you all!!!
bruce 55555 and jenniforhillary: I saw all of Hillary’s surrogates on the shows after her speech saying, “now if obama loses she cannot be blamed in any way for it, she went above and beyond” and all the pundits seemed to agree! smart though that her people are out there making sure that line is in everyone’s heads.
Thank you! I feel the removal of Dean is important, but from what you are saying, it time better spent AFTER the election. Would you agree?
TOPIC: Caucus Fraud
Will someone please REPOST this comment every day for the next 7 days. That way newcomers can see it is REAL.
~~~
Testimony: At our hotel yesterday a black woman delegate from Texas told us that she observed Caucus Fraud. She very matter-of-factly stated that at the request of the Obama campaign workers, the Obama votes and Hillary votes were separated into two lists. And very matter-of-factly added that this was done so that the Hillary votes could be thrown into the garbage.
goanderson, antifish, and I were all there and heard these words from the mouth of a Delegate. A delegate, I might add, who seemed not the least worried about it; Obama was just about to be crowned, after all…
~~~
Will someone please REPOST this comment every day for the next 7 days. That way the media & any newcomers can see it is REAL.
Not that the media will do anything about it, they slept while we invaded Iraq, after all… _but_, we can always HOPE, right Obama?? We _do_ have the audacity to hope…
WILL BOWER IS BRILLIANT! LOOK WHAT HE JUST STARTED! A candidates’ PLEDGE to support HIllary for Senate Majority Leader!
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=72075850013
Hillary Clinton for Senate Majority Leader in 2009
The DNC may have undermined 18,000,000 voters…
…but we can do our best to make sure that the DSCC and the Senate don’t do the same.
Let those Senatorial candidates up for election in November know that, if they want our votes, that they will pledge to elect Hillary Clinton our next Senate Majority Leader.
Like LBJ in the late 1950s, Hillary Clinton can lead this country from that seat of power… and we 18,000,000 will have our voices better served and respected.
[[ Imo this is a great idea! It gives HIllary power, it shows Pelosi and Reid they can't bully her. Also seeing which candidates sign the pledge, shows us which downticket Dems to vote for in November! ]]
Aha! It does require the semi-colon..
Anyway, another thing.
TOPIC: MSNBC
You guys would not BELIEVE how AMAZING it was to arrive at Central Station in Denver on Monday afternoon (hot as blazes out) with roughly 80-100 PUMA’s (I’m not sure), all carrying signs, wearing Hillary or PUMA t-shirts, and chanting. Only to realize the stage there belonged to MSNBC, who was doing a live broadcast.
Then Chris Matthews walks out & as if on cue, all the PUMA’s begin chanting “sexist pig! sexist pig!”
It is so damn funny to think of it in hindsight.
My one regret is that Keith Olbermann was not doing his show when we arrived…
Also, ABC news is the msm network who has the video footage of us and they used it on Monday night on the TV show dateline (is it dateline or nightline, who knows)… Anyway ABC news seems to like PUMA.
Recall last month that nice guy Abrahams was w/ABC…
Hi Ely!
Hillary for Senate Majority Leader – BRILLIANT!
PUMA mini-prowl
You guys feel like posting tonight? Here’s a few links w/Matthews interviewing a woman about Obama, feel free to post comments about the PUMA movement and/or Chris Matthews at any of these:
To all of you who chanted “Sexist Pig” at Chris Matthews – that has been the topic of conversation here in Los Angeles ever since and every woman I know felt proud about that one. thank you
I actually managed to squeeze a laugh tonight reading the posts on this thread at a rapid pace – some people were gagging, others talking about redoing their steps, other people offering support and plans to unravel the BO machine, and all of this was interspersed with Iammykittysmom’s war correspondent blow by blow.
Murphy you weren’t drinking anything fruit flavored tonight were you?
Go vote:
Halligan, I voted. Everyone should do this. Can you repost in the am?
I was just reading about Bill Gwatney’s wife and that he had signed a document before he was shot to deliver Arkansas delegates for Hillary.
That his wife just really looked scared and intimidated when she delivered every SINGLE delegate from ark for Obama.
Along those same lines, I was just wondering, Did anyone notice that Bill was shaking last night. It was when he went to get a drink of water. I saw his hand trembling, honestly I was concerned.
The race card is going to blow up in his face. He will live to see the day he wishes he had never done so. There are way to many who are keeping silent while they plot the defense. It’s not going to be pretty. Buit it WILL be as the people have created it. And then..it will be over, as all conflicts end. Then we can rebuild. But only then.
While they take over the inner cities, we are taking over the food production. Weapons come in many forms. so does wisdom.
Namaste~~~
hillaryrules:
You have NO IDEA how much your post means to me. I was just sitting here thinking ‘are people wishing we hadn’t done that.”
It wasn’t planned, it was spontaneous & just happened. As were the other chants!
My personal 2 favorites:
“What do you want?” “Open Rollcall!” “When do you want it?” “Now!”
and
“Tell me what Democracy looks like?” “THIS is what Democracy looks like.”
Thanks for posting, hillaryrules.
halligan: I posted, Thanks for the link! ;D
hillstheone – you’re so welcome!! I think that clip of you all yelling sexist pig might’ve made it onto nightline the other night, which is huge. It really has brought so many desperately needed laughs to everyone I know for chris matthews to have his bubble burst and realize we all see him for what he is.
I only wish I could’ve gone to denver to join in all of that fun.
To PUMAs:
I’m new to this blog – just found it two days ago – but I don’t know what I would’ve done tonight during that speech if I didn’t have this outlet to vent and laugh at all the hysterical comments about the BO speech.
Thank you all
Maybe I missed it, but have any of the PUMAs that were in Denver informed us on how the “Audacity of Democracy” viewing went over with the Media ?
#743 hillaryrules
Welcome. Nice to have you with us.
The blog has its ups and downs. And we sometimes have our differences here, like any family or any relationship. But we all passionately support Hillary and want to see Obama defeated. We appreciate all the newcomers we’ve had recently.
And on that note, I’m calling it a night. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends preparing for a big conference next week, and I’m ready to crash.
My emotions were too raw and I could not watch the speech as it was taking place. It was not worth the pain of more stress. However, I have listened to the replay, but I did not watch it because I did not want to see him.
I have been mulling over what I heard, remembering my college days. I have come to a conclusion.
If I did not know how Barack came to be the nominee, if I did not realize he is all ego, if I did not understand he is making promises it is impossible to keep…if I didn’t know what I do at the age of 56…I would think his speech was glorious and his persona magnificent. He appeals to the idealist that is at the core of the reasons I became a Democrat. If I read his words without knowing anything about him, I would be cheering his goals…and flying in the clouds, being uplifted by hope.
Of course, over the years my idealism has been tempered by the realism that comes with experience. Yet, most of my ideals are intact and I do want the premises of the Democratic Party, as I understand them, to be realized. So I continue with my allegiance and work for Puma PAC.
I see what Barack has done to gain the nomination as a Great Sin. I will not vote for him and reward such Sin.
#746 – unfortunately, a lot of folks that don’t know are out there, heard it and feel that way.
I just got off the phone with one of them.
Can’t deal with it. Just can’t deal.
Nite firebelle,
tomorrow is a work day, I need to hit the hay too!
sweet dreams…
gina:
Your question reminds me. Another item (to add the the list, above) that PUMA needs to continue to keep on the agenda is exposing caucus fraud.
Ok that makes the list include:
* addressing sexism in msm
* discuss forming a 3rd party
* discuss ways to reform the Dem Party
* continue to support Hillary
* support people like Sheehan
* expose Caucus Fraud
some of us also talked about becoming delegates before the next convention…
Hi hillaryrules
I was furiously posting tonight and had to repost many many times. I just read everything and am laughing my behind off.
It was funny.
ah, I guess everyone has gone to bed. It has been difficult for me to go to bed during all of this, but i guess I should
liloleme…I didn’t know how people could vote for Bush, especially the second time. I do not want to disrespect people because they believed in what they did.
Now people are again going to vote for Barack with motives that they believe are right.
I will help Puma PAC to inform people and to correct wrongs.
Goodnight Pumas. Thanks for all the work done by the people who were in Denver.
{Ms. White: I am responding on behalf of Attorney General McKenna to your message, which is copied below.
As you acknowledge in your message, the State of Washington plays no role within the internal processes of each political party. I understand from your message that you are not satisfied with the procedures used within one of those parties to select their presidential nominee. Those procedures, however, are not related to any Washington laws regarding access to the ballot in this state.
In Washington, any candidate can file for office simply by filing a declaration of candidacy and paying a filing fee (or submitting petitions in lieu of the filing fee). While candidates may, if they choose, express their own personal preference for a political party, political parties as such do not have any special access to the ballot. The Presidential primary works a little differently than other offices, but at root in this state it is candidates, and not parties, that qualify to appear on the ballot.
I trust that this information will be helpful.
Jeff Even}
I thought it was their job to investigate reports of voter fraud. Anyone know how to write a petition to repeal caucuses in a State. I’d like to start one, any WA Puma’s interested? Anyhoo….MY email is going to cyberhell again, I do not want to have to do a restore, can’t get a complete list of cookies. I can delete in sections, ie temp files, cookies, passwords and forms. Any suggestions? I am so tired, but will never quit fighting to restore our democracy! Couldn’t bear to watch precious tonight, makes me want to curse loud and long. Bye for now bbl. BTW… i won’t be voting for him either, I do not believe it is in his destiny to become POTUS, not now, not ever.
Hi all I am New to this site just found it lastnight. I am in one of the major BATTLE GROUND STATES (OHIO). I guess you can say I am one of those people Obama said that holds on to our guns and Religion. His speech tonight was an Eliteist speaking not a real person like us and the whole Rome theme was BAD. WE AREN’T Romans. I am holding out to see the Rep. Convention next week but as it stand right at the present moment I am Voting for McCain. I have been a diehard Dem since I was able to vote and I got to meet Bill Clinton in person he came to my High School. I have never heard of the PUMA’s until this year and it seems to be an awsome group I wish there were people like this group here in Southern Ohio to make sue this State goes to the right person. I just keep thinking when Bush added Cheney to the ticket it was because Bush was inexperience and see where we are at and Now Obama is doing the same thing. I don’t want that again at least McCain has experience.
I just watched “the speech”. That man is so fake anyone who doesn’t see it has blinders on or is not very astute. He took Hillary’s talking points and made them his own. He was uncomfortable uttering the words because he has no idea what they mean. His delivery was choppy and his words were empty. One thing I can spot is a fake and let me tell you, that man is a fake. He is not seeking office for the better good of our country, he is seeking office for his own selfish gain. He does not have love for our country in his heart.
I have no doubt he will undermine this country. I would never vote for him and no amount of money would ever get me to sell my country out unlike much of the Dem leadership has done.
totally agree
Hi PUMAs, just a short post tonight…just got home from Denver and am pretty wiped out. Denver air sucks, besides the smog the thin air has done a number on my body. So great to breath the moist air of the Bay Area and be home. After the faux vote on the convention floor last night, myself and all the PUMAs I saw wanted to get the h@ll out of Dodge. Today Goandersen, Antifish, GreenFun, SouthJerseyPUMA and I all flew home. Going to Denver was quite an experience, the best part was meeting other PUMAs, seeing how really kind and nice Denver locals are and what a piece of crud the farce of this election was. Meeting delegates was easy, I never had any of them snub me and I talked at length to about a dozen of them. You could spot them really easily, they were the people that were dressed up.
I was never in the right place at the right time to see Hillary, that was the one thing that would have made up of all the drama that went on there. PUMAs worked their paws to the bone. Walking for miles in the heat with the worst possible air to breath.
I hope you have all been good PUMAs and believe me, I couldn’t wait to leave Denver and this Democratic disaster in the dust.
thank you BillieJo for your work in Denver. It was awesome. Hope to maybe meet all of you in the future. It just didn’t work out for me to go.
I was happy to ‘represent’ for you Dem4Hillary and all the PUMAs, just seems like no matter what the delegates and PUMAs did, the deck was stacked.
I am headed to my own bed, sleep well and talk to you all tomorrow.
Hi Puma’s, I’m wondering if anybody knows if Puma’s will be attending the GOP convention. I would love to see those Hillary signs with McCain stickers plastered all over them. This would look great on national TV, providing the networks give McCain equal time. Obama was on ABC, CBS, NBC, Public TV, Spanish Channel, C-SPAN, MSNBC, CNN and even FOX covered it. I didn’t watch but I noticed when I surfed through the channels trying to find something interesting to watch.
hey i didn’t think anyone was still here. I’m still up reading and stuff. It’s hard to let it go…
Great idea! And I bet the GOP wouldn’t try to hide us, either!
hi turndownobama
Going to the GOP Convention just might get us some great attention and people who will pay attention. I see only posiives in going to the GOP convention.
I am sick from the last day of the Dems convention. All the TV people are just praising Obama. He got away with it all. No one is talking about the corruption of the nomination process. I feel like his corruption won.
I watched less than 5 minutes of his speach. He sure does keep his nose pointed up in the air. He does have an aloof elitist air about him.
I am sick also because I wanted all of us up there cheering for Hillary as she gave her acceptance speech. This politics is tougher than I thought. It is really hard to be on the losing side.
I am voting for McCain and against everyone whos district voted for Hillary but the representative sold out to Obama. I am in Mass and will vote against the following Dems.
Kennedy
Kerry
Niki Tsongas my Representative
Niki apparently took some $10,000 from Obama and her district. my district went for Hillary strongly.
Massachusetts went for Hillary by 15% if my memory is correct.
No need to mention Kennedy and Kerry as traitors. I know Kerry is up for election this fall. Kennedy will probably die before his next election.
Yesterday I joined the daily emails from the Rasmussen polls which track daily polling for the race. The next day or two will show if there was a bounce. there probably will be from yesterday. the poll comes out at 9:30 am every day. you can find it with a google search and read the daily numbers or just subscribe. So far I will receive my first email later today.
Stand firm PUMA. We must stay united now. It is easier to stand up for what is right when I know there are others standing at my side. Being a group really helps big time.
Thank You Murphy and everyone working so hard.
Go Hillary Go
Sorry did not watch the speech,rated it poor any way!
I am getting ready for work, had to put on cartoons cause if I hear his name one more time this morning I am going to scream!!
I will be voting for Mccain,I am in oldsmar Fl, Pinellas county precent 630.
And as tom petty sings, I WONT BACK DOWN!
Well have to go groom dogs, be back tonight ,have a good day Pumas.
good morning pumas
I did not dare to wash his coronation, it worst than watching a snaff movie
EVERYONE — Please accept my respect and admiration for you all.
I just discovered PUMA a month or so ago, and I’m glad I did.
You all (now we all) have firm beliefs…. and I know they are right! We just have to stick with our beliefs and principles…. and keep working the problem.
In response to a question at the top of this thread as to what am I going to do now…
I spoke of my plans on a thread on a recent Blog here called “Peace, and a Plan” on 8/28 7:44AM, 8/28 5:48AM, and I think one more on 8/28.
I will start writing aggressively on major blog sites pushing Senator John McCain into the center of the road, and yes “common sense” for the economy, such as letting the Bush tax cuts expire, getting universal health care underway, bringing sense to our national budget, hurry up and move our troops to where there are needed such as in Afghanistan, and rotate some home,
examine our national education condition, infrastructure, energy supply, etc.
This is going to be a tough fought election battle, but I believe we can be “tougher” legally, and work the system, and bring John McCain back from far right field, and get him elected on 11/4/2008.
And then my plan is to start at some time pushing Senator Clinton for 2012.
That is where I am today.
Thank you for asking.
Common Sense 12 or Common Sense Bruce.
Oh. As I write stuff, I will post it here also on the PUMA site… which I hope is still going forward.
Comment… I am not a money person, but maybe all PUMA people should consider donating say $25 to help pay for this excellent site work.
In Answer to your question, I am voting for McCain, seems weird all these years democrat down the line!
I wish sorry Harry Reid, was running this year I am going to campaign against him, he has forgotten we the people elect him. I am voting for Dina Titus, the rest supported OB, I will vote against them!!
I have given to Sheehan’s Campaign, to get Pelosi, out!! I couldn’t watch *61 make the acceptance speech, I knew he would steal someone else’s speech.
Thanks to all who went to Denver, and thanks dem4Hillary, you made this bearable.
Good Morning Pumas! I didn’t watch the speech either but am listening to the commentary about it. From I’ve been hearing on Fox, they thought it was good. I’m afraid we are going to have to take out all the stops and vote for McCain. Those of you who plan to vote for 3rd party candidates are, of course, free to do as you wish. However, that will not take Obama down. I spoke with someone at the Republican HQ here in FL yesterday and they said they were going to have to work very hard to beat him. And as I posted yesterday, she also stated McCain was not their first pick, they wanted Romney to be the nominee but were told to hold back their endorsement. A day or two later, Gov Charlie Christ & Sen. Mel Martinez came out and endorsed McCain and that started the ball rolling. They are miffed that their candidate was also chosen. I’m hoping he doesn’t get a big bounce and, if he does, hope it diminishes as the campaign goes on.
Can someone post a list of all Obama’s flip flops and positions?
Best of…..I have picked for several blogs & forums some of the PUMA reviews of the speech. You don’t need to go to the MSM:
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/29/i-am-living-in-mortal-fear-that-this-speech-will-endpuma-toga-party/
Good Moring All,
I am voting for McCain.
I did not watch “the great one” give his speech. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
I think most of the media has lost their minds over this guy. It is kinda scary.
775 storytellers I have to agree with you. He’s already started his “youth” camps, he’s mobilizing his followers on cell phones, he has “many” foreign activist anti-American associates, he has paid media, he is in the process of legal attacks against “free speech, etc….It goes on and on………
Everyone Vote, This is done by MSNBC, so no chance it’s fair it’s already at 65%, I don’t think so:
Thanks Aloha Puma!!
such as letting the Bush tax cuts expire, getting universal health care underway, bringing sense to our national budget, hurry up and move our troops to where there are needed such as in Afghanistan, and rotate some home,
************************************
I believe any war in Afghanistan is worst than the war in Iraq. War only bankrupts us. We do not have the money for war. We should end all wars and take care of ourself. We need to get our economy going. We need a solid energy policy.
One super reason that war is stupid is the huge amount of gasoline the war machine uses every day. It is enormous. We pay for all the oil used by our machinery. It goes against the oil we use here in America. As far as the Saudi are concerned they get paid the same for oil used in America or used in Iraq.
There is nothing to win in Afghanistan. Russia went broke on the mountain top. We will go broke on the mountain top. Afghanistan is a mountain top. nothing there.
Stop the wars. All of them including the war on drugs. Send mentally ill drug addicts to a hospital for help not to jail. Jail is not the solution to the drug problem. Love is the solution. Give them hospital care which is more loving then jail. Teach them to live life without drugs.
Give people good jobs and an education. Make American strong again.
Just my opinion.
Post and Vote – speech
http://news.aol.com/elections/conventions/democrats
My Post:
The “beef” was chicken. Nice speech but it paled in comparison to the grandious setting and build-up. And he is going to finance this by closing tax loopholes and cutting wasteful government programs. It all reminds me of the song, “Bye Bye, Miss American Pie”
He should have just honored MLK and not tried to imply that he was the MLK’s Dream. He is still just a presumptuous nominee.
Oh yes, let me add please…. I will also be writing aggressively… pushing for a veto proof Democratic Party majority in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. We must remember this is supposed to be OUR Congress, and much of their work, particularly the last four years has been stymied by this self centered “me first” Bush administration, who has continually acted illegally on many many issues. We, as a Democratic Party must get control of Congress to the point of a veto proof majority.
Thank you.
What is happening with “Audacity of Democracy” ?
Good morning everybody,
I could not watch Obama’s coronation speech last night, like most of you, apparently, from what I can read on this blog.
But I would like to send you once again this message of encouragement and gratitude. Thank you to all of you, to the courageous Pumas who have been to Denver, and to all the others who continue the fight in spite of the grotesque show we had to endure for four days.
I know some of you feel a little discouraged : I can perceive a lot of disappointment and disarray sometimes in your posts, but let me tell you one thing :
YOU MUST CONTINUE YOUR FIGHT : YOU HAVE NOW A NEW MISSION TO FULFILL : prevent Obama from ruining your country and endangering the whole world. Please, please don’t feel discouraged. You know the Clintons HAD TO act as they did.
I know some of you have been hurt because of Bill and Hillary’s speeches. But bear in mind that if Hillary wants to win in 2012 she will need Obama’s supporters. So she had no other choice : here is an extract from the Belfast Telegraph this morning :
“In her heart of hearts, Clinton no doubt still believes she would’ve been a better candidate against McCain. She may even be secretly hoping that Obama loses so that she can claim vindication and position herself for a stronger run in 2012.
But she, and probably Bill as well, will walk-the-walk as good troopers for Obama up to November’s election.
Because, if he were to lose a tight race to McCain and Hillary was later deemed to have undermined him with lukewarm support, the enmity she’d earn from Obama’s faithful would be enormous. Then she’d have virtually no chance of winning the Democratic nomination in 2012. As such, Barack Obama can expect the Clintons to be highly visible fixtures on the campaign this fall — whether he really wants them there or not. ”
So now, please, stop blaming the Clintons and do your best to help them in their new mission : defeat this horrible man !
Good Morning PUMA’s (just to let you know MO stands for Missouri not the other MO)!!!
I have not been a real Pat Buchanan fan, but during this election I have grown to like him, this is worth reading.
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=28277
Let me give you one precision :
the figures are revealing : think about that :
18 million people voted for Hillary during the campaign. So far, only 47% say they are ready to vote for Obama. So if the other half continues to reject him until November, it means almost 10 million people won’t vote for him. If they vote McCain, although they are Democrats, Obama is bound to lose, because 10 millions represent a big percent of the people who actually go to the polls in any American election…
Isn’t that rather encouraging ?
i will be voting mccain….unless he chooses romney…then im gonna sit this election out.
I was happy to see the orange ribbon gracing this entry. here’s why
Who is McCain picking today?
Good morning LibertyPuma – It’s a new day, right?
liberty…the word is the gov of alaska
hi Gypsy. it is a new day. I partied last night and did not give his speech one second of my time. I feel better today because of it.
gov from Alaska is a woman? right?
Will be voting for McCain and “No” to any Democrat for *61!
Thanks for all the comments on the speech last night, I was reading and laughing so hard I could not reply last night!
798 LibertyPuma – I watched a movie!! Gov Palin is a woman. She knew she was going to have a baby with problems – down-syndrome (sp) but continued with the pregnancy. She is also a strong “fighter” for Alaska and I think her constituents like her.
Bush’s third term is Obama
http://pumaalliance.wordpress.com/2008/08/29/obush-in-his-own-words/
Good moring all…
Funny thing yesterday I bought orange ribbon to make the bows on the top of the post for our meetup group for Central Jersey Pums next week!!! So glad that farce of a convention is over. Goin to watch Fox and see wht they say about the body language and see what Hillary wore.
Is she strong enough to hit back at Biden. Biden is a bulldog.
803 LibertyPuma – she’s more like a puma – lol – and am sure she watched Hillary and knows what she would be up against. She will immediately have the sympathy from the public, but I feel she can stand on her own. I don’t know if McCain would choose a woman. I haven’t looked at her records, but I believe she is one of the ones in the top 6 pick.
I will be voting MCCain my husband will vote MCCain and I will encourage my 2 daughters to vote McCain!!!
My husband said from the start of the primary there was a plan. Hillary didn’t see it coming!!!
hi all,
Here is an Interesting clip on Denver and Puma
sorry, this is the link to the Russian press on Denver
hey maybe I am still a little tipsy…. LOL I feel kinda excited that McCain may pick a woman!!! This would rock!
813 LibertyPuma – me too – it’s about time someone has the, uh, you know, uh, …………… to see the picture!!
Yeah, Fox says it will not be Romney!!!!
fox just announced it is not romney for vp…maybe a WOMAN…..sara palin!!
I sent an email this morning. Indiana is supposed to have a binding law. One that means even if they are released by the nominee they have to vote to reflect the primary results.
I had received an email from the Indian State chair before the votes and he received my reply today.
His email stated:
Carrie,
Thank you for your e-mail. Unlike in other states, there as been no coordinated effort to get pledged Clinton delegates to switch their vote. Last week, Senator Obama and Senator Clinton made an announcement that will allow the historic participation in the primary season to be shown at the Denver convention. The achievements of both candidates and the number of people who supported both candidates will be on full display in Denver. I fully expect that pledged Clinton delegates from Indiana will vote for Senator Clinton, but will also, like Senator Clinton herself, support Senator Obama to be the next President of the United States.
Daniel J. Parker
State Chair
Indiana Democratic Party
So this morning my reply was:
Mr. Parker,
I was so happy to have received your email and learned that Indiana was going to stand strong by the laws of the state. After the “roll cal” I found myself wondering, how is it that a 51% win by Hillary Clinton in Indiana translates into only 6 votes?
The votes of the state of Indiana are not owned by Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton, they are owned by the voters, as it should be. No amount of being “released” or being coerced should have changed the way the votes in Indiana were cast. I am ashamed that my state was a shining example of all that is wrong with the DNC.
Myself and others will be working tirelessly to not only bring this corruption to light, but to oust any of the ‘elected’ officials who were party to it, as well as seeking justice in the states where the laws were broken by the sham of the votes.
Respectfully,
Carrie *******
Indiana voter
Wish I could have emailed him a good solid smack.
Me? I’m voting McCain for President, and probably voting Republican down-ticket. I’m going to have to hit the research and see who deserted us and who stuck with Hillary.
If the Dems won’t count my vote, the Repub’s will. I’ve already got several people coming with me, and I’m bringing more. I’m preaching about the injustice daily, and telling anyone who will listen.
I’m even got a couple friends who support the ‘waste of space’ but I’m working on them. We have friendly debate every day or two and talk about what’s going on in the world, and they’re starting to see the truth about BO. If I can get these guys to vote for McCain, then I can get anyone to vote McCain. They WORSHIP BO, and it’s sickening…..
I live in Wells County, Indiana. Indiana usually goes republican. This time it is likely to be more so than usual. I have decided to vote for McCain if he is ahead by a substantial margin. With the electorial college, it is likely that he will be ahead enough to insure our 10 electorial votes without my participation. If McCain is ahead, I will vote Nader, if that margin is less than 10 points at election time polling, I will vote McCain.
I called my friend, Mr. Holloway, a life long republican, and asked him to come and place a McCain sign in my yard. I will put my Hoosiers for Hillary sign right beside it to show everyone that I had a first choice that I was prevented from voting for. I hope it will be a powerful message.
I caught a part of his speech last night. My honest impression was that I thought that this entire Convention week was a dud after so much “hype” about how amazing it would be.
I guess it was amazing if you wre there, but I am basing this on what I saw all week on T.V.
I think his daughters are so cute and all the people in that stadium made the night look decent, but the speech was more of the same B.S.
Also, for the good 1/2 hour I wattched him speak, he messed up plenty. How about when he said DR..Drive with a major stutter. A few times I think the teleprompter let him down> LOL!That’s funy to watch.
iF i DIDN’T KNOW BETTER-I would think that this guy is exactly what America needs. But “I” do and I am not easily BRAINWASHED. My mind is too strong and powerful to break for a bunch of feel good talk.
I will vote McCain. Again, I want to sleep well at night, I want a President that may not be all that I want but at least will not lie to me or put this Country at the mercy of Terrorists. B.O. has too many terrorist connections, has lied way too many times, put out a fraudulant Birth Certificate and sat in a Racist Church!
PA De. politicians that endorsed B. will find themselves losing their seats. I will be happy to help kick them out!
Romney is very unliked here in New England. I worked in Ma and the taxes are awful.
Romney also to my knowledge removed all funds from a lot of agencies. he pulled all of the budeget for the rap chrisis center. gave them ZERO.
Good luck Mike! Id offer to help you, but Im not voting McCain. NOT voting BO..repeat NOBO but no McCain for me. But I hope you swing em all your way!
I am voting for McCain. I will not vote as a democrat again until the the corrupted mbrs of todays dnc is history.
First thing I’m doing is voting for Ed O’Reilly on Sept. 16 in MA, then on the 17th switching my registration to Independent, on November 4th I am leaning strongly to McCain because of the maturity factor, Nader second choice, and if Kerry is on the ticket will vote for the Republican. All you MA Pumas,- Martha Coakley is looking like a strong candidate for the future. That’s something to look into- ‘Keep on running.’
http://www.stoptheaclu.com/archives/2008/08/28/obama-ayers-failed-chicago-schools-under-ethnic-identity-agenda/
fox is already knocking Palin as not enough experience. BOY, wish all of the media had done that to Bambi. JEEEEEZE
Again, no matter how noisy it was, it could not hide the emptiness. It is not black or white, it is not old or young, it is not man or woman, it is not the look or style, it is the empty slogans, no depth knowledge on issues indicate a BUSH 3rd.
I am voting democratic down ticket. Indiana has a rotten republican governor, and Jill Long Thompson is a long time friend. I have campaigned for her a number of times, and have done housing studies for her when she was in the house and as undersecretary in the Ag department under Bill Clinton.
However: The next time our mayor runs for office, I will not allow him to put his sign in the yard, he has been in the tank for Obama all along. And I always thought he was smart?
Good Morning Everyone we have to stop this nonsense
This Guy its a dictator
Obama Campaign Tries to Shut Down Chicago Radio Show
By Warner Todd Huston (08/29/08)
Members of Barack Obama’s campaign HQ in Chicago tried to shut down a local radio show on the City’s most powerful radio signal, WGN 720, because they didn’t like a conservative guest that was on going on the air to discuss Senator Barack Obama’s ties to local terrorist William Ayers. This is a shocking attempt at stifling political free speech and a bald attempt to quash debate by the office of the Democratic Party’s nominee. The funny thing is, WGN is the most liberal station in the City with every host but one slavishly supporting the junior Senator from Illinois.
Show host Milt Rosenberg, the station’s only conservative leaning host (probably to be considered more libertarian than Republican), had on short notice asked conservative writer Stanley Kurtz to come on the air to discuss his work on uncovering Obama’s ties to terrorist Wiliam Ayres and the Annenberg Challenge project. Kurtz was just in Chicago for his investigation and Rosenberg contacted Kurtz only that morning to appear. At the same time, Rosenberg’s producer contacted the Obama campaign’s HQ — which is but blocks from the radio station in downtown Chicago — to offer some time on the air with Kurtz to debate Kurtz’ claims about Obama and Ayres. The campaign, however, flatly refused the offer of the equal air time and instead tried to drum up via email a protest of the show, trying to get it stopped.
After the refusal of host Rosenberg’s offer to appear on the air with Kurtz, the Obama campaign issued an extensive email (The Chicago Tribune has the full text) to drum up protests of the radio station, which said in part…
In the next few hours, we have a crucial opportunity to fight one of the most cynical and offensive smears ever launched against Barack.
Tonight, WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears. He’s currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.
Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.
The email gave the Rosenberg show contact info and told people to call and protest Kurtz’ appearance. The email also lied to its supporters by acting as if the Obama campaign was not offered fair rebuttal time.
It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves. At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz’s lies.
I happen to live in Chicago and by chance was listening to the Milt Rosenberg show and heard for myself the host assure listeners that he offered the air time to the Obama campaign, an offer that was refused. Rosenberg even went so far as to offer any other show date for the Obama campaign’s rebuttal to Kurtz’ work.
Then, in compliance with the Obama campaign’s email instructions, a parade of callers was aired all telling Rosenberg to shut down the Kurtz interview. Each caller was quite insensible to the unAmerican reaction in which they were indulging and each one was entirely unreasonable and uninformed on the facts. Sadly, this anti-American attitude seems typical of Obama supporters nation wide.
Now, Dr. Rosenberg’s show is one of the most intelligent, even high brow, shows on the radio, so schmaltzy, exploitation radio is as far from his style as one can get. Rosenberg interviews authors of the highest standing and show topics range from philosophy, to Opera, to physics and political science. He even does a delightful yearly show on the misuse of the English language as well as one on the year’s best literary offerings. Like I said, exploitation radio he ain’t.
So, for the Obama campaign to act as if this particular show is an affront to reasoned debate is an outrageous charge. Just as outrageous is the Obama campaign’s obvious desire to destroy free political speech. It makes one quake to wonder what sort of oppressive climate an Obama presidency would impose on the country?
OMG, I heard that an unmarked airplane left Alaska lastnight with kids and everything, I do believe McCAin will pick the governor from Alaska..
I am from California. Does anyone know why they skipped California in the vote?
I made 2 yard signs! on cafe press it was fun!! One says Hillary Dem 4 McCain, and the other says Obama, you created an elephant and elephants never forget!
You should go on cafe press and make one!
So many good people in America are so naive. I try to talk to them about what we PUMA people know to be true and they simply say it can not be true. They are so naive I just want to hug them and say I love you and protect them.
This election is in the hands of our maker. He does want me to work for truth and love but like Jesus he was not really so successful. The battle for Good against Evil just keeps going on and on. It it so good to have all PUMA people working for Truth knowing we are ONE together.
I toss in the night. I get up and come back to the computer and keep frustrated. I turn to PUMA and get energy to keep on running. I can hear the barking and see the torches in the distance but I keep on running knowing we are UNITED here with PUMA. I know deep in her heart that Hillay loves us all and wants us to keep running, to keep going, to never give up.
God Bless all of you. I am so grateful for PUMA.
Go Hillary Go
What a great thing. That is Palin isn’t it”? I will support that ticket. In fact I will not be voting for any democrat that has supported this farce. I will vote straight independent or republican. I am so mad. I can’t believe I am even saying this. My mind won’t be changed. McCain is nothing like bush and I will be proud to call him president.
Good Morning Pumas!
Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely Friday morning. I missed BO’s speech last night – not that I haven’t seen it before (if you’ve seen one – you’ve seen all of his speeches). I was doing a lot of thinking last night about these last few months, our movement, this whole process all together and of course, and most importantly the future. While many of us PUMAs will vote for McCain, a third party, write Hillary in (where it makes a difference) or simply not vote at all, I wonder if a protest is enough to send the message to our leaders. We already know (thanks to the in the tank media) that any BO loss in November will be blamed on Hillary – which could damage her chances of running in 2012 (which I don’t believe we can let happen). SO000 – here is my proposal to PUMA. Could/should we change our mission/strategy to working the various states and national DNC processes to ensure that what happened in 2008 to our candidate and our voices, never happens again. Could we outline a map of every single fraudulent, unfair and undemocratic crime that took place on the democratic process we so cherish and rely on? From there, start organized (by state?) committees that work to voice our concerns to local goverment and the DNC – grow our grassroots movement. SURE – we can still protest the election (doing one of the three things I said above), but not make that the focus. I just feel like we can accomplish so much more and draw so much more support from other PUMAs (even if those people do vote for BO by the fact that they just can bring themselves to see a Repulican in the White House). I just think we can gain so many more allies and affect real change if we use our voice to change these corrupt processes. As you know, I am a loyal PUMA and have been with and donated to Murphy from day one. I want to see our movement grow and make more REAL differences like we did in Denver (I honestly believe if we hadn’t been there – there would have not even been the short roll call there was). I can’t stress enough that I am not saying we shouldn’t each protest the election if that is our individual choice – but maybe our time, resources, voices would be better served in tackling our concerns directly with our officials and rallying support that way by asking voters to look at what happened – not because we don’t want BO or that we do want HRC – but that we want to preserve the integrity of our democratic system. I’m sorry for the lengthy ramblnig of a post and I hope I made sense so early in the AM…lord knows I have only had two cups of coffee…but it makes sense in my head. Let me know what you think?? Especially curious to know what Murphy, Mama and Maryland think.
Hey, Pumas
Good Morning – I’m up and this is way too early for this Puma. I need to look to see who voted for Oh-No here. I think I received an email from Governor Jenifer Granholm that said she was for the peasant king. She has not been too popular here, anyways.
I’m awaiting further troop movement orders here, from our Pumas Leaders
I am going to go check out some info on Palin. I hope I am not gettign excited for nothing!
We are going to make a strong statement. Candidates have been protested before, but this is going to be HUGE and they will hear us. Too bad they were too stupid to listen to us and still will not listen to us. They’ll hear a huge Roar on election day, and they’ll walk away from conceding to their opponents with claw marks on thier a$$es. LMAO.
The problem with having a good manipulator on the ticket is that many people will believe the rhetoric and won’t look underneath for the truth. Obama has co-opted every good idea any of his opponents have ever had and tries to make it look like his own. McCain will not let him away with that.
Knowing what I know about Obama, I either mute, switch channels, or turn the TV off when his commercials are on. I tear up his literature when it comes in the mail. I delete his e-mails. I am not going to let myself be deluded by his pretty words. That is all they are: Words.
I have to contact Gov Lynch in New Hampshire. I heped elect him when he assumed all was lost to sitting Gov benson. I am ashamed that he gave every last delegate vote to Bambi. I have to have a come to jesus meeting with him.
I will be back. Have some coffee Puma’s.
working on that one Liberty!
#836 FLGayGuyForHill…I have always through PUMA Pac as being far bigger than the current election. The elction will come and go, but change will be needed going forward to ensure that our democracy gets back its integrity. Great Post and I think your ideas need to be taken under serious consideration.
McCain’s VP? If she is the one, I have to say Experience speaks loud.
Sarah Heath Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the current Governor of Alaska, and a member of the Republican Party. She is the first female governor of Alaska, its youngest, and is the first governor born after Alaska achieved statehood.
YES, McCain 08, Hill 12!!!
Good morning, Pumas,
Well, it looks like Obamamania is alive and well in the media. I still don’t get it. To me it is all hype and very little substance. But, what do I know. I guess I am out of the mainstream. We have our work cut out for us–maybe we need to rent a stadium? Have a great day everyone.
I am having trouble finding the right place to go.
I went into the signs section. http://signs.cafepress.com/
And have gone through a dozen pages without finding your signs. I suspect I am in the wrong place. this seems more about bumper stickers.
It looks like McCain is going to chose Gov. Palin from Alaska: female, governor, reformer, non ideological: HOME RUN!
Check out FOX.
I think we women are going to decide this election. We have clout!
#836 FLgayGuy4Hill
I agree with you. They always blame Hillary for everything. That won’t change. They should look into the mirror on November 5th, and see who is to blame.
We need major reform. The word reform means to make over. To redo. We need to make the Democratic party over into what it is supposed to be, not what it is. I am not sure that is doable in this instance. I am willing to try. First we need them to see the error of their ways, not to blame the one who would have done the better job. If we can get them beyond that, we might make progress. If not, we need to form a new party.
All of this is hard work. But look how far we have come just since June 3! We can do it. The one thing (forming a new party) we could control, the other (reforming the old party) we cannot. We need to keep that in mind.
here ya go
Lastnight when Obama gave his speech and said that McCain did not follow Bin Laden to his cave it made me so mad. How can he disrespect our troops like that. Our boy is an officer in the Marines – in Iraq for the 3rd time. I will not ever vote for Obama. Don’t even aske me too.
Sorry posting downstairs by mistake-kinda excited..
Palin for VP?
Good morning PUMAs-
How was the speech from the Greek farce last night? I didn’t watch it – watched guy from Baltimore make cakes instead – pretty cool cakes.
Did I miss anything important? The world looks the same today and I see that all the Fox people are now here in St. Paul and that my little ole governor – Timmy Pawlenty – won’t be movin’ on up in the neighborhood -
Fill me in………………………………..
No matter what, woman on the ticket will be a sign of progress, and will make next woman in the high office easier next time.
For McCain to win, he does not have much choice other than pick up a woman. Do not you think so?
I will be pissed if they are hyping us women.
Lieberman….. not a good choice. will piss the Rep base off.
Good morning PUMAS, a new day has arrived. I sure hope McCain’s VP is a woman. I will support the McCain team 100%. NO OBAMA!
Caracal Carrie–Great signs and t-shirts! Let’s make one with an orange ribbon! Do we have PUMA t-shirts that say “We are the ones no one was expecting”?
Watched the Coronation last night. Speech was ok, nothing great-can’t for the life of me see what the press is so gaga about.
Thought Hillary and Bill were much better the night before. My husband said the pics of him with the colliseum framing him reminded of previous dictators-scary.
I’m voting for McCain and then democrat all the way. down.
GM Pumas
My political biological clock shut me down exactly when Obama’s speech began…..lol
I was out cold!
I have a thought that …it is always the case that poll numbers jump after an acceptance speech.. no need to worry, for with our help they will come down!!!
I thought of a thief with a gun in his hand and an eloquent speaking ability when I watched Obama tonight. He is trying to encourage everyone to give their freedom away because he has a gun in his hand.
He and his followers used thuggery on Hillary, on the DONC and on the American public. He stole everything he ever had put his hands on. He stole money from his supporters for the big extravaganza tonight… He stole money from his supporters to take his world tour… He steals money for the increased security around his acceptance speech from the American Public’s taxes… He stole the election in Chicago from his mentor…
He is a thief and one who steals the hearts of people… unsuspectedly is still a thief.
We must continue our business here… We must continue our prowls… We must continue to expose this fraud… We must continue with all of our fervor to make this known to the American people who love this country.
We must, for we are the ones who are fighting for the America WE love, our freedoms and our country.
Do not get discouraged …we have only been at this for 2 months now and look how much we’ve already accomplished. We must stay active… People on the news and around the world are watching us already.
Remember, we are Americans first… we are not whiners like “precious”… We will be heard, we are being heard… and we will make a difference…
I know in my heart of hearts that you all are as brave as anyone facing the gun of a thug…
JUST SAY NO DEAL… PEOPLE UNITED MEANS ACTION… HIREHEELS.COM….. DONEDEMS.COM….. ALL OF OUR COALITION WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!!
Gotta start my canning, catch you all later, I’m really excited again waiting for McCain’s VP pick.
NO OBAMA!
My husband and I are both voting for McCain here in northeastern PA (sorry Joe) in protest.
Downticket – I will be very selective – I will NOT vote for any Democrat (or Republican) who supported O; I will vote for their opponent or leave my selection blank in protest.
I will remember this November, and in every election from this day forward until our democracy is restored.
Yes, it would certainly pave the way for more women in politics!! I feel it would be a very strong message. It would also aid Hillary for 2012.
Palin has a 80 to 90 % favorable rating in Alaska.
This could get interesting if Mccain does pick Palin. Oh let the games begin!!!
Heard pundits on Faux news talking about governor of alaska – young woman – sounds pretty smart – if McCain picks a woman – he’s gonna gets lots of female votes & when he wins – the Democratic Party is gonna sit back and whine about how Hillary made them lose & the stupids asses will not understand that Hillary would have made them win –
Nobama
November
When democracy returns to the Democratic Party, so will we.
Why? I don’t think Carl would have said that about the plane, do you? – he has never been off very much.
I am in District 2 in South Jersey. I have decided to vote straight Repub as soon as Corzine announced that all state delegates would unit behind Obama, despite Clinton’s win. I not only have a right to protest the rigging of the dem primary, I believe I have an obligation to protest it.
Palin admiteed to smoking pot when it was legal in Alaska. I guess she inhaled as well. LOL
unit=unite
ALSO – this would be a HUGE play for McCain as 80% of the country thinks we need to tap our own resources for oil (which BO is against). Palin, being Gov of Alaska has been VERY vocal about tapping Alaska’s oils reserves.
873 LibertyPuma – you did do some research, didn’t you? I’m trying not to get hyped – what did you have to drink last nite – I need some of it!!
You can go to cafe press and make any kind of anything you want and get a biiiggg discount. Ill be glad to help anyone with any questions on how to make em. Or I can make it for you and put it in mine. Or if Murphy or anyone wants to open an official Puma cafe press for fund raising Ill be more than happy to help with that too!
Gayguy… sounds like she wants to be Green about tapping the oil as well.
From what I see on News, it looked like a lot of Bells and Whistles…celebs, rock stars, music, special effects, fireworks…Everything Barrack needs to replace the simple thing he needs,…EXPERIENCE!
The Street Hustler went big time to hustle America….
Yes, I am trying to find out what her stance on women’s issues is…..
She is not for same sex mariage… she does support partner benefits. ” she has gay friends “
Gypsy… I drank crown royal last night. Got warm and fuzzy then ate well. Wanted to keep my mind off the bambi speech. worked well!! LOL
Sarah Heath Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the current Governor of Alaska, and a member of the Republican Party. She is the first female governor of Alaska, its youngest, and is the first governor born after Alaska achieved statehood. Brought to statewide attention because of her whistleblowing on ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders,[1] she won election in 2006 by first defeating the incumbent governor in the Republican primary, then a former Democratic Alaskan governor in the general election.
I doubt it will be Palin. She has less politcal experience than Obama. And since Obama’s biggest problems is lack of experience, putting Palin on the ticket would make that problem a non-issue.
She’s a former sports anchor with a bachelors degree. I will be very surprised if she is the pick.
884 LibertyPuma – I lived in Alaska for 3 years. When I was there the State owned the majority of land. Every year (when I was there) the state had land lotteries where it would help the next developments. It also used to have land lotteries with more acreage, but you had to fulfill certain stipulations – living there for 3 out of 5 years – and cost the winners little or nothing. But it’s a harsh land for pioneers.
I believe Fox said that she was “moderately pro-choice”. I’d like someone to confirm that.
Good mourning PUMAS!
TOGA, TOGA, TOGA!
I didn’t even watch that junk last night.
Who ever did, I will prey for you.
LOL.
Palin is fresh….. might balance out the McCain ticket.
k – been reading the paper – sounds like his speech followed the same track as the debates – “what she said” – dirty rotten ratbastard – never, never, never
I don’t really care who McCain picks as a running mate, anyone I vote for in November will be a protest vote against precious – so who cares what the issues are – I could care less about about RvW – it’s been around for 34 years young women so it’s likely to stay & if not, states rights will prevail – read the dam thing – it’s never been about abortion –
don’t care what his issues are – 4 yrs can’t be a whole lot worse than Shrub and will certainly be better than precious…………………………
Become a feminist and a suffragist – I’ve been there done that and didn’t get my female president…………..I fought the battle
TX DEm….. how could they attack her experience with out it back firing on Precious?
“Governor Palin would (in my estimation) make an excellent VP candidate for McCain. Thomas Cheplick at The American Spectator makes the case that she’s probably the only VP candidate who can balance the ticket against Obama. She’s also a potential magnet for disaffected Hillary Clinton voters, many of whom are just looking for a reason not to vote for Obama.”
http://wizbangblog.com/content/2008/05/29/alaska-gov-sarah-palin-to-meet-with-mccain-vp-search-team.php
If McCain puts a pro-choice person on the ticket he is done. That makes Lieberman and Tom Ridge a tough choice for McCain.
There is a site http://www.mccainpalin.com
Could be fake, who knows these days? That ticket would get my support, the only problem she would have is the sexists with their “beauty queen” thing. I am sure they would get over it! Much easier on the eye than Biden!!
McCain would be wise to pick a female; very smart, IMO.
Says she is a member of: Feminists for Life
Feminists for Life of America (FFL) is the largest and most visible pro-life feminist organization. Established in 1972 and now based in Alexandria, Virginia, the organization describes itself as “shaped by the core feminist values of justice, nondiscrimination, and nonviolence.”[2] FFL asserts they continue the tradition of early American feminists such as Susan B. Anthony, who opposed abortion.[3] FFL is a non-profit dedicated to “systematically eliminating the root causes that drive women to abortion — primarily lack of practical resources and support — through holistic, woman-centered solutions.”[4]
Feminists for Life maintains that being pro-life is compatible with feminism, and, further, that it is the natural conclusion of feminist values. Members and supporters of the organization claim that being a pro-life feminist is not an oxymoron, it’s redundant.
I don’t think they will attack her on it. Instead they will use her as a response to the Republican attacks on Obama’s lack of experience.
Palin:
Even though does not have much experience she is a Gov., thats a big deal. Gov’s are better than senators for presidental positions. That will be a plus. She is running a state. Can we say Bush……..that was huge for both him and Clinton while running for office.
She hunts and fishes… like for real… I like that
She “is” for the U.S. to become less foreign oil dependent, but Alaska is noted for conservation also.
Alaska is always in danger from Russia and needs to be kept safe.
They have the most beautiful state parks and the schools have year round swimming pools in them, smaller courts for tennis, etc. When I was there, the educational policies were very good! I don’t know how it is now.
“There’s a lot there to recommend the admittedly attractive Governor. Her youth is a nice contrast to McCain’s age and her opposition to government corruption is a definite plus. Being strongly pro-life helps too.”
Go morning pumas Looks like McCain may be picking a women! Have to check her out. I’m voting for McCain but know nothing about her.
ok…….. I need to go shower and do my chores. I have to stop getting excited!!! If McCain picks a woman you will hear me hooping all the way from here. Screw obama.
Apparently her approval rating by Alaskan’s is in the 90’s…
910 LibertyPuma – I’ll be waiting to hear the whoop!!
Sarah Palin sounds okay to me. McCain could do worse, IMHO.
Morning All,
New post up — feel free to repost your comments in the new thread.
Today is a new day,
Take it upstairs!
Somewhere on this blog in the past, someone looking at the stars stated that the candidate with the female VP will win…I held my breath and prayed that it would not be Hillary!
NO WAY NO HOW NOBAMA…NOW OR EVER!
896 emme – I just saw your post…It is beautiful there – I spent almost every weekend either at Kenai or other lakes. Loved it – I would have still been there if I could have made it happen!
#869–Thanks for the pep talk and reminder. BO also stole Hillary’s platform –last night he said that healthcare would be the same as Congress. I suppose they collaborated on the platform for the DNC, but I knew that he would take all of her ideas and that is why I did not want her to be VP.
I do hope we can do something to stop Obama, but I must say this is a new mob, cult mentality that is supported by power and money. It is going to be tough. We just need to stand strong and do what we believe is best! I think at this point being true to ourselves, our core beliefs, and our mission, which mirror those of our founders, is what will keep us both focused and sane. So stay focused, fellow PUMAs! Think Orange!
#916 1gypsy4mc – my dad wanted me to go to college there – I regret not taking him up on it – could’ve gone for free – drat. Saw the northern lights that summer at Big Lake – THAT was amazing…
Morning everyone,
Glad Dem convention is over. I only watched Hillary’s speech and read blog commentaries though. I read on another blog that about 25% of the people in the convention hall left after Bill Clinton gave his speech. Was that reported?
Also, was it my imagination or was this convention not very diverse? I didn’t watch it, so please correct me. You had BO and MO and I guess Bill Richardson gave a speech (although I didn’t know he was Hispanic until I found out from T.V.). If this is the case, that’s not good. The U.S. is no longer just Black/White. Where were Asian Americans, Latinos, and so forth? Just wondering.
Have a good day,
Lara08
Going upstairs now…
Good morning all
I am so happy this morning. John McCain has pulled off the uni maginable. All the media is talking about his VP choice instead of Obamas speech. If he chooses Gov. Palin I think it’s the most courageous and politically saavy move I’ve ever seen.
Not only would he be sticking it in the eye of the Democratic party, but also the Republican party. As far as Obama’s speech, it was boring. He stole line from everyone especially Hillary. Tell you the truth I was embarrassed to be a Democrat. The party of the downtrodden being seen in such an audacious and expensive setting was just over the top.
It is an article that appeared in Newsweek, and as such is unexpected, coming from a msm outlet. But it is AWESOME, the writer totally gets it! Please come and check it out!
Got this from another site I belong to. Really worth the read!!!!!!!!!! Especially the last half about BO!!
he chose palin!
Sara Palin!
and Geraldine Ferraro spoke on Fox saying about Hillary,
in a nutshell, how she was treated by the media, the DNC, NObama and his minions, and Dean not speaking out against it,
POW!
@832
They were afraid it would put Hillary ahead
Obama campaign told politico they were avoiding “any scenario that would put Hillary ahead”
WOW,WOW!!!! McCain sure trumped Nobama and got the WOW factor. I think it is Nobama who doesn’t get it.
Didja hear??? Larry Sinclair WON his case in D.E.! His fraudulent, illegal WARRANTLESS case was DIMISSED. He just announced it on his radio show last night. Now, guess what? Other “gay lovers” of BO are coming forth and lawyers are asking to SUE the ba***rds Biden and the state of D.E.! Now we’ll get some action!! Donate now to help get BO to justice!
With respect to President, my choice is Cynthia McKinney. I invite all readers to the Green Party home page: http://www.gp.org/. McKinney is definitely left-of-center and may not be a comfortable fit for all PUMAs. However, if you are thinking strategically…
The McKinney/Clemente ticket is going directly after the alleged Obama base. The Republicans have plenty of money. Help the smaller parties with your donations and ballot-access petition signatures. Demand they be included in the debates. For those of you who know the FACTS about McKinney (not the crazy rumors–she has been a lower-profile target of outright fabrications and distortions than HRC, but a target nonetheless), admit it: you would LOVE to see McKinney on the stage next to Obama, calling him out and calling him, in so many words, a fool.
Hillary Supports for McCain signs! Everywhere! I am singling with excitement!!!! Happy, Happy Birthday Mr. John McCain! Our next President of the United States of America!!
I’m personally conflicted on part of last nights speech so I need other people’s opinion. Do you think it’s good or bad for BO to use Hillary’s good ideas?
It’s really interesting to see you guys talk about the speech. I knew the Puma’s would pounce on his ‘humble acceptance’ *cough*.
Perhaps the only thing that I liked was that he said “God bless the United States of America.” It really bugs me when they accidentally bless two continents. I wonder if anybody ever did that after talking about a threat in South America…
On an unrelated note, I had a dream that a giant spider crushed BO’s house, and a giant squid pulled him and Michelle into a lake.
I’ve been skulking around here for weeks, but after I saw this article I decided I had to speak up:
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/30/palin-vp-pick-not-guaranteed-to-earn-mccain-female-voters/
Here’s my response to the article. Did I get it right?
Why are you people against obama?!
Isn’t he promising to make us all rich, wealthy, healthy, happy, beautiful, and briliant? Isn’t he promising to make every day is sunny and clear? Isn’t he is going to cure my cancer, straighten my teeth, and make my love life better?
He went a bit overboard when he promised that there would be no accidents–but, not to worry, he promises that any accidents will NEVER result in any injuries.
C’mon people! Aren’t you glad to be living for the second coming . . . lol
