As noted below, today is Puma PAC’s first day of Protesting the Election. Our slogan for this PROTEST is “NOTHING ON TOP.” We are still Democrats. In fact we ARE the Democratic Party. We will vote for every good down-ticket democrat we can. If they were Bought Out Superdelegates we will choose VERY carefully whether to support them or not. We WILL vote on November 4th. By the millions. But we will NOT vote for Barack Obama for President. Each individual Puma PAC member will make her or his OWN decision in the voting booth about whether to vote for John McCain or to LEAVE IT BLANK (or to vote 3rd Party). That is up to you.
Yes, I know and you know that the strongest Protest vote against Obama and the DONC is to pull the lever for John McCain (counts as 1 for McCain and 1 against Obama), but there are MANY, MANY good Democrats who just cannot in good conscience vote for a Republican. That is absolutely fine. Please do not belabor the comment threads with the arithmetic lesson about how a vote for McCain is the best way to prevent an Obama win in November. We all know that.
We will vote for good Democratic representatives to Congress, for mayors and selectmen, judges, attorneys general, sheriffs, boards of health, and dog catchers. We will deliver a very SHARP rebuke of Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, the media, and the entire DONC by turning in our ballots with NOTHING ON TOP on the Democratic side.
NOTHING ON TOP!
- OUR MESSAGE IS TO DISAFFECTED DEMOCRATS — AS MANY AS 10 MILLION OF US.
- YOU ARE A DEMOCRAT
- A GOOD DEMOCRAT
- YOU DO NOT NEED TO VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT
- LEAVE THE TOP OF THE TICKET BLANK ON THE DEMOCRATIC SIDE
- VOTE, VOTE, VOTE IN NOVEMBER.
- VOTE FOR AS MANY DEMOCRATS AS YOU CAN
Oh, and I am so very proud of my state today. YAY Massachusetts!

Thanks for the best read I’ve had all week! I saw all of the “tiffs” the articles mentioned between Matthews, Olbermann, Scarsborough & Schuster. I loved it!
Hey, Murphy, great plan. And congrats to MA! Wow, I didn’ t know that , but that was a courageous and moral move on the part of the MA delegation.
Great job again Murphy!!! I think that sums up a lot of threads that were going yesterday
I think that’s what I’ll do! Leave the top blank. I’ll wait to listen to the debates to make sure about Mc but I won’t vote for BO.
Wooo! I am in Massachusetts too and this makes me proud!
REPOST from downstairs: I just called the Republican HQ here in my Florida county and told the nice lady I would be coming by to pick up bumper stickers. I plan to place those beside my Hillary sign in the yard. We talked about the speeches and she wondered why Hillary never mentioned “I’m a proud wife.” I noticed that and thought it was odd.
Also, they are not happy either with McCain, their internal polling showed Romney the choice of many Republicans and were told not to come out and endorse anyone. They played nice and two days later, Gov. Charlie Crist and Sen. Mel Martinez (FL) came out and endorsed McCain. They had no say either in their choice. Maybe the same thing happened with McCain, he was pushed by the Party. I hope he picks Romney as VP. Nasty politics.
Also, I’m going to take them about 50 of Fred’s NOBAMA posters!!
Nothing ON TOP
No WAY
No HOW
No BAMA
go Puma’s go
Speaking of flags. Were the flags at last nights gathering made in the USA?
My TV has pretty poor resolution but it looked like there were two different flags distributed to the crowd.
One, had the flag stapled to the stick. If the flag was cotton thats usually a clue that it was made in Philly.
The other though, looked as if the flag had a sleeve that went over the stick, usually a hallmark of a made in China flag
any one know?

I am soooo excited about Pumas plans for the future ! This is a cause that I support 10000000 % !!!!!
Nobama ever! Hey, what is going on PUMAS ? Only seven comments so far today. Cheer up, its not over yet .
reposting for LaureyHill from downstairs, re Hillary wearing orange:
LaureyPuma#793 — that was me on Tuesday night.
Orange is my absolute, most favorite of favoritest colors. It is my signature color — I love, love, love it.
It is also the color of Energy and Power — exactly like Hillary Clinton — I am CONVINCED that is why she wore it.

Welcome back
Thanks, Murphy. I didn’t know MA voted for our girl! Way to go, delegates with guts.
We should probably do a Prowl with a sham ballot like the one up above and put on the Dem side Nobama with no vote and below the other presumed candidates, check how we will vote and send them to the DNC!
I can’t believe it!
Obamacropolis is the new word for his famous stage! I am grateful, so VERY grateful for the wonderful work Murphy and the DENVER PUMAs did this week. None of it was in vain. I will remember you forever, you were my voice and presence as I watched you on the tube.
THANK YOU!
I am surprised at the extreme corruption and bullying of the democratic party-it pains me really.
But I am sticking to my promise…
My VOTE = PROTEST VOTE = McCain
Now, I met my colleagues/friends today and they drank so muck Kool-Aid they are drunken by it. They could not make a single argument for Obama other than to stick it the Republicans for 8 years of Bush and their corrupt election processes. I could not tell them about my protest vote because I feared retaliation. However, I did have some very valid points in voting for McCain and most of it comes from educationg myself this summer with The Obama Nation and The case against Barack.
I think I also need to see who the VP will be. Hope he’s smart enough to chose a women and take the thunder away from Messiah Barack by aanouncing it Fri AM!!
Another way of thinking of “nothing on top” is “hold the whipped cream”

In the days leading up to the Democratic convention, the Obama campaign and the DNC made it clear that having Senator Clinton’s name placed in nomination was not a done deal. Senator Obama engaged in negotiations with Senator Clinton regarding this issue and it appeared from several press reports (NEED REPORTS!!!) that Senator Obama had the ultimate power and final say so on this issue. With precious few days remaining until the convention, in order to ensure Senator Clinton’s name be placed in nomination, many pledged delegates began to collect the required number of signatures to be presented on the convention floor as an alternative avenue toward this goal. Some states (NEED DETAILS!!! ANY STATES OTHER THAN PA???) discouraging pledged delegates from collecting signatures, urging them to hold off until the results of these negotiations were known. At the same time, Senator Obama’s campaign began contacting delegates to inquire into how they planned to vote. (NEED EVIDENCE!!)

Thanks to Martha Coakley and Therese Murray for voting their conscience and responsibility to the voters of MA. Do we know how Nikki Tsongas voted? How can we get a list of their votes to send a proper thank-you?
MURPHY ~ some blog had the whole history of Orange as a protest color for a Euro country. Can’t find it again.
sorry. deletion police needed stat!
Has anyone posted or seen this article yet? Very nice portrayal of PUMA’s and Clinton’s message in her speech. I love what the article says at the end:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/political_commentary/commentary_by_froma_harrop/hillary_can_t_fix_what_her_party_broke
Hi all! Is it possible to get lists by state of those SDs that are running for the SEnate, House, etc. that voted for BHO (went against the will of the people in their districts)? I WILL NOT vote for those SDs that did this either.
# 20 Demcat – How do you know how these particular delegates voted?
Just want to say, once again, thank you, Murphy, for everything you have done. It is a lot of hard work. And even when it is a labor of love, it still takes its toll. You are one of my greatest heros and I will be telling your story to my family for generations. I am so proud to be a PUMA. So…..three cheers for you!
THANK YOU…THANK YOU…THANK YOU!!!

re: orange
I remember in 2000 – to protest the Florida theft – we were wearing orange ribbons.
TV SIGN ALERT for all PUMAs:
Tape this to your TV screen tonight while you watch Obama’s speech, … to help keep you focused rather than being lulled by what you may hear.
http://download.premiereradio.net/guest/rushlimb/daily/TV_SignObama.pdf
ROFL
I was able to tell a few co-workers about PUMA today. They were both in agreement the best person was not selected to run. People are still looking for help comming to terms with the DNC’s bad judgement. I think we’re going to continue growing since people want to fight this but are just unsure how.
GO PUMA!!!
How about “Top Protest”…?
Or “Protest the Top”
Or “Stop Top”
Or “Top Ticket Picket” (I like that…lol, but it wouldn’t exactly be a picket)
Or “Top Ticket Stick-It” (lol!)
Or….hmmm….
“nothing on top”…I think it leaves itself open to way too much…
Mzebest yes yes yes.. Thank you!!! Someone from downstairs was looking for it too. Laurey I believe. Very informative. Thank you so much
What did Massachusetts do today???
mzebest – froma harrop is excellent. she’s been one of the few op-ed writers to write with integrity. i’ve contacted rasumssen more than once to praise her work and thank them for having her on staff. susan estrich is another rasmussen writer who has backbone. yes, i think it’s so important to acknowledge those who are championing our cause (whether they refer to PUMA specifically, or not).
#16 Genevieve I would prefer that McCain not pick a woman because when McCain’s term is over, his VP would run against Hillary! I can’t go thru this again, first Hillary against a black and then Hillary against another woman.
Bye Pumas, am going to watch the US Open, Nadal and Serena Williams will be playing at 7pm. Love Nadal.

Great idea Murphy! I will definitely be voting Nothing On Top! McCain doesn’t deserve my vote either, especially because he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade AND is against equal pay for women. I choose Nothing! See you in 2012!!
anna7000
please add an acronym dictionary to my wish list. (i can hope, can’t i) lol lol

Glad I could help
I have a very efficient method for collecting all the links relating to this election cycle and can easily find them at a moments notice. But most of my collection is at home… so when I’m at work… I can only find the ones I’ve collected for that day (and send them home to go in my larger database).
hey blue blue gal and everyone else – feel free to save a few keystrokes and just call me anna!(remembernovember, you can throw in commas if you want!)
Murphy,
Does that mean we should vote for Nancy Pelosi? Voting indescriminately for EVERY OTHER DEMOCRAT DOWNTICKET IS PLAYING RIGHT INTO HOWARD DEAN, NANCY PELOSI, DEBBIE WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ, ETC. ETC. HANDS.
BY ADVOCATING THAT YOU ARE SQUANDERING EVERY BIT OF LEVERAGE YOU HAVE AND DEFANGING PUMA.
mzebest…thanks so much for the rasmussenreports link.
Great article..
EXCELLENT — Notyoursweetie — EXCELLENT.
Perfect.
http://www.robinwood.com/Democracy/Graphics/EGraphicsPages/OrangeRibbons.html
Orange is our color for sure. Let’s get ribbons!
well, on to step 2…
i have set up a new bank account, i’m putting in $5-$20 whenever I can…i am going to be using this money to help Hillary in 2012.
I may sign up to be on the republican mailing list, but this site will always be my home. I’m not going anywhere.
It was tough, but we survived Denver…now…we must really stick it to the ONC…on to NOvember!
this is just a suggestion, but maybe we should all start working on ways to imrpove on what we did for Hillary (in regards to phone calls, blogging, etc.) that way we’ll all be finely tuned by the time she announces another run.
well, i’m going to write a few posts for clintondems.com–we could all use some uplifting blogs for the next few days while we heal and plan our next moves
#35 Anna7000
I’ll try to remember to write a letter of praise myself (when I get home). I too — enjoyed reading that article on Clinton and PUMA’s. It made excellent points and the author definitely “gets it.”
btw, HELLO notyoursweetie — how are you??
Thanks for clueing me in!
14 ((((MadLogic )))) I said I’d be back today to see which direction we were going to take – I am just sooo happy with this amazing group of people ….
I can’t watch the speech tonight. Everytime I see that man I feel the same as I do about Bush. Plus I would love to see the stations ratings go down tonite. Just can’t watch. For those of you with the stomach to watch keep us informed. I guess Biden made a major mistake last night when talking about troops to Afganastan. Only heard part of it something about brigades. Anyone hear?
Murphy: I do not agree with your admonition in your thread and I will not vote every Democrat down. They rolled over as well. How is one going to change a party if one assures that every Democrat gets a vote?
Sorry. This traditional Dem will take the opposite action.
Got my ribbon on my desktop!!! Totally awesome!!!!
Thanks Murphy, I needed this post, glad to see it. I’m one of those Dem whose consciences cannot vote McCain (too close to BIG OIL) but believe in tough love and not rewarding bad behavior, so I can vote “present”:-).

Did PA go Hill—it better had!
#51 I agree. I live in California and these people that I put into office let me down big time!! Again, it goes back to your own personal feelings. I just want to make sure OB goes down hard.
#49 TexasTigress.
And other regulars, stop lurking and join in. I think many others are on their way back still, so this place will be busy again soon
No, BrooklynNY — I dont think you should vote for Nancy Pelosi if you dont want to.
Dont vote indiscriminately — of course not.
But we DO want to hold on to our majority in Congress for goodness’ sakes! Losing that would euthanize the Puma Movement.
Murphy et al…Thank you for your courage and hard work.
I have had a splitting headache all day.
I remain committed to Nobama. He will never earn my support.
I will re-affirm the democrats down-ticket although I was so annoyed last week I had given them all up. But you have brought me to my senses.
It will be easy to avoid the tv tonight, I am dreading the paper tomorrow, I don’t want to see is face with his padded crowd.
I am so glad to have all of you for support.
I’m sorry. I cannot vote down ticket Dem this year. Mark Warner is who I would have to vote for, and even though he will win, I already told him I would not vote for him if he supported HObo. I had a major discussion with his aide, and even though all was very nice, she was tunned, I need to keeepmy word.
Orange – especially the orange sherbert or ‘push up’ color is my all time favorite color ! I just got a sherbert colored sweat suit (nylon) AND a pair of white PUMAS at the Buckle with an ORANGE Puma stripe on the side ! Lets have a parade somewhere !!!! LOL
Nothing on top – I’m in.
My Avatar a HCF is now an orange ribbon, thank you notyoursweetie!

OMG! The DNC has Drugged Poor Bill Clinton!
Watch this video and see if you don’t agree. Check out video around Time 1:06 to 1:10, watch his dry mouth, slurred speech, swaggering hold on the podium, bleary eyes, hand positions – these are all pretty well-recognized signs in the medical community of mood-altering medications.
As a physician, I can’t swear to it, but Bill appears to bear all the hallmarks of being under the influence of mood-enhancing medication.
It makes one wonder if that’s the only way they could get him to go along with their charade.
BUT, BUT MURPHY
the DNC counted on that even if Obama didnt win, we would vote the downline dems in, the senators and congressmen.
How does that help us reform the Democratic party when they are the Superdelegates who override the people’s vote?
This is the congress we voted in in 2006, and Nancy Pelosi will still be their speaker, this is the congress which refused to impeach Bush=Cheney and that;s what we the people voted them in for, this is the dem congress that voted to cover up Bush;s illegal wiretapping of every one of us in this country and outside of it too by voting for immunity for ATT and the other phone companies who recorded everything we type and say.
Only a handful of this congress: Kucinich mainly, fought to do what we elected them to.
this is the same congress since 2006 that has kept the war going and our kids in Iraq by voting for a surge, when they won election on the premise they wouldnt fund the war and would stop it.
I know , the problem is there is no one else to vote for, cause we dont have a viable third party, but maybe there’s some independent running in everybody’s state who we could put in instead of the incumbent congress person.
Yes I’m angry at this congress, Pelosi, Reid, Dean -all of them for going along with the destruction of the Constitution and our civil rights.
I’m not going to vote these people back in. My senator
Nelson usually votes with Bush. Some democrat. And Martinez is a Cuban Bush. I’m leaving Senators blank.
Klein for Congress was bought off by Obama with an $11,000 contribution. I wont vote for him either.
Sorry Murph, I’m not voting the downline and I dont care who gets in as long as its not the same democrats and Super delegates who just screwed the democratic voters over.
There;s two years before the next election, and I hope some PUMAS will be on the ticket for congress. Those I could vote for.
Never vote indiscriminately — I am lucky to live in Massachusetts where so many reps stood up to the DONC. If your rep is one of the BIG BETRAYERS, then — BY ALL MEANS — vote AGAINST them.
Puma PAC will know be under ENORMOUS pressure to become Republicans for all intents and purposes. I reject that. I want OUR party back — and that’s the DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
I am in Mass also.
of course Kerry is running for election this time and will not get my vote. but I voted for kerry last time and for president but no more.
I also voted for Tsongas because I liked her husband so much.
Mass.- Niki Tsongas Clinton 68,631 Obama 46,811
Now she has thrown away my vote this November. I have to contact her. I dont want to vote against her. But she must be made aware of Democracy and the people holding the power. She is suppose to represent us not her own agenda.
Obama was using his huge cash in the bank to buy votes by giving to their campaigns. It should be illegal. Many delegates and super delegates got cash from obama for their votes. typical corrupt chicago politics.
I would not be surprised if Niki took a contribution from Obama. not as a corruption but as a need to get reelected.
I thought I might be able to watch the Packer game tonight and miss the Obama-sation but the networks are being slick and the games are on an hour early with the convention on right after the games…..

Did you also see the two links I posted earlier… you might enjoy them.

A very good article about PUMA’s and Hillary’s speech
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/political_commentary/commentary_by_froma_harrop/hillary_can_t_fix_what_her_party_broke
32 kat in your hat~~~ I agree. It seems kinda like handing someone a blank signed check. Plenty of room for manipulation and/or fraud.
Don’t forget , Pumas , a lot of the Bad guys and gals are up for re-election and we will have the opportunity to vote Democrat , just not for bad democrats ….
#24 FLGirl
I totally agree, those that voted for BHO that went against the will of the people in their districts should be one
Great article at Hillary is 44 don’t miss it will lift up your spirits.
http://www.hillaryis44.org/
You changed threads on me…and I don’t know how to get back to the last one. I tried that website about tracking my daughter across the country but it does not work for me. I guess you post it in the window but I get an error. Pls post it again. Maybe you could see if she had landed yet.
We are making a list and checking it twice for the Dems who did the right thing ..
Well. I just looked at who is running on the repub ticket against Warner..Gillmore. Oh gwad. No way can I vote for him. Maybe no vote this time on the down ticket
well here goes a new chapter of the protest
murphy we are in this for the long haul
i cant wait to see the crud that comes out about
the precious one now
does anyone know if he was served
with the papers from that laywer phil berg (i think )
? and does anyone think it will have any effect
Very proud to be born and rasised in Massachusetts.
GoHillaryGo — I believe niki was one of the BIGGEST bought-off Super Delegates. I think she took $10,000 from Obama for goodness’ sake.
I’ll be voting for Ed O’Reilly.
Each Puma voter must vote carefully — according to the particulars of their own distinct precinct and district.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS “NOTHING ON TOP” FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
ohh also from mass
did our delagates stick it to 61 ???
info pleaseeeeeee
Murphy
That is wonderful! I am so glad there is a plan that I can do!! Great Plan!
We should send flowers to the Mass delegation and to Harriet Christan.
Murphy: I want the Democratic Party back as well.
the Democratic Party is in the hands of those at the top and that is Obama. If I understand your thread correctly, you are urging people not to vote for either candidate for the Presidency.
The one thing any candidate in any election wants if you are not going to vote for him is TO NOT VOTE AT ALL.
Your thread is asking people to disenfranchise themselves at the top…That is untenable, Murphy , and with all respect the wrong move. Millions of people are supposed to, after 10 months, rejecting this fraud, now on election day show no vote for anyone? That is exactly what Obma would love to see. You are wrong in this move and I strongly oppose it here and elsewhere.
I look awful in orange. Have a couple of orange t-shirts, I’ll wear them anyway.
Skins on tv.
Nothing on Top for Dems in VA.

PUMAs…… WE’RE HERE !!!
… Gearing up for an exciting new phase!
I stayed up all night last night going through yesterday’s hundreds of posts (all that “catharsis”!) and writing some of my own… a few of which I’ll post now (hoping they’re not “old news”… I haven’t had time to go through all of today’s posts)
——————–
A little reminder:
– Without us, they can’t win!
– We are the ones no one was expecting
– We are the resistance
Press on, Dem comrades… we have an important election to loose!
(and also non-Dems and ex-Dems……)
_______________________________________
Though I think I have a lot of research to do… Indiana did not vote the way it should have. Hillary won 51% of Indiana and they only gave her 6 votes…
Murphy,
This is from your introduction above:
“We will vote for our Democratic representatives to Congress, our mayors and selectmen, our judges, attorneys general, our sheriffs, our boards of health, and our dog catchers. We will ensure a greater majority in the Congress and a very SHARP rebuke of Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, the media, and the entire DONC by turning in our ballots with NOTHING ON TOP.”
— Murphy.

I OBJECT STRONGLY TO THIS. If it’s not what you mean , please revise your statement. I cannotsupport that strategy at all and hope you will not use it an official PUMA stance. It destroys any leverage we have.

NewOrleans No vote for DEM on top. I hope you are going to be ok with the storm coming and all.
Sorry, I don’t like “nothing on top” because it’s what people say to call others brainless or flat chested.
We can figure out something that is self-explanatory and has more punch.
I STILL think we should create a “Stephanie’s List” ( in memory of STJ ) of all of the people up for election who stood by Sen. Clinton to make sure that we DO support them .
We have to make the ones that voted against the “will of the people” pay for what they have done to the democratic process and “We the People”!!
We have to make the ones that voted against the “will of the people” pay for what they have done to the democratic process and “We the People”!!
Sorry for this long post…here’s something I just wrote for clintondems.com:
I hope it lifts some spirits
Yesterday was the most painful day I have ever had to struggle through. A travesty within the “Democratic” party took place, and I witnessed the murder of my rights as a voter. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the greatest candidate for President I have ever seen, heard, believed in, released her delegates and the roll call was indeed a sham.
I didn’t watch Hillary’s speech on Tuesday, I knew what she would say…support obama. I knew she wouldn’t mean it, but I knew she had to say it. I decided to stay away from my television, I’m tired of feeling ill every time the Clintons, two people I respect more than anyone, voice their support for that counterfeit. If you didn’t know any better, you’d be confused, their voices say one thing while their body language says another. True Clinton supporters, true Democrats, know exactly what the Clintons mean every time they voice their support.
A friend of mine watched Hillary’s speech and told me what was said and how the crowd reacted. The response from the audience gave me hope, everyone seemed so happy to see her (except Michelle obama, but that doesn’t surprise me.) Upon reading the transcript, something caught my eye, in this request for support, another request had been intricately woven amidst the tangled web of empty praise…keep running. She may have ASKED us to support the ANNOINTED one, but she TOLD us to keep running.
I fought with the overwhelming loneliness once again and stayed in bed all day Wednesday. I awoke today with a new attitude, the resilient defiance I felt two days after she suspended her campaign. I will not fall in line like she ASKED me to, I will keep running, like she TOLD me to. If that means I have to run in the direction of McCain, I will keep a steady pace. Every time Hillary is disrespected, my momentum remains steady. Every time I am ridiculed for my repudiation to support obama, my speed refuses to falter. 2012 is my mental finish line, 2011 is when the real race begins. The prize is a President we can all be proud of…and this is why I will keep running.
kat in your hat – your’re killing me girl! but just think, “topless” could be worse!
Or bare-breasted…
62 Kelligesq~~~ I agree. If they sold us out, they don’t get my vote. Period. I’m all for forgiveness and compromise, and second chances and reconciliation, but not at the expense of the Constitution. Without that, we have no country, let alone party.
Until this year, I used to think that no vote WAS a vote. But not anymore. From now on there will be a name in the box that gets my vote, whether it’s worth anything or not.
crusader — mp’s flight leaves Charlotte from Gate E4 at 7:40pm and arrives in Salisbury at 9:27pm. It is 10 minutes early.
There is nothing to worry about — dont fret.
Anna! lol. I read your #95 after my #96 was posted…
Stop the top?
Well I went back up and read what Murphy said. It is okay to vote McCain if that is your choice..it is mine. However we are not here to tell people how to vote but if you can’t vote the other ticket just leave blank. Is this what you meant? I just have to put in a vote that will really be against Obama.
kat – that’s what i figured! made me laugh, again!
What does nothing on top mean?
i think murphy means if you cant vote for mcain then leave the top blank guys
thanks Murphy
You know I;ve given up on the dem party. I want us to
become a third independent new demoratic party or democratic populist party. A party that stands for what the dems used to stand for. And there would be two years to organize that and find and put up third party candidates. This country needs a third party so that we dont get stuck with THEIR choices as we are now.
This dem party and all its members who have been in there for 30, 40 , even 50 years is as corrupt as the republican party they’re all bought and sold. They dont represent the people… they represent their own wallets….put them in congress and they get their wife, their sons and daughters jobs as lobbyiests and line their own pockets.
IMHO there is no saving the dem party – its just too far gone into the swamp.
I knew Murphy would have an inspired prowl. For my part I am going to cafepress.com and pick out a “My Hillary vote goes to McCain” shirt and I think I will head on down to the bar where the McCain folks are going to watch his acceptance speech next week and see whats up.
I am going to sit back and watch what the Republicans have planned for BO for awhile. It should be entertaining as well as expert. I don’t think we need to worry about defeating BO so much, he and the DNC are alienating enough people on their own with their tin ear, thuggish politics and then I am sure the Republicans will step up to the challenge. I am with Murphy, our focus should be documenting the fraud in the Dems primary system, who was responsible for it and who allowed it by being silent. And we should work to purge and reform the party or form a new one. If Ohio or any other state goes with same day registration we will probably need to be out to prevent fraud by both parties. Where do these people get off making a mockery of free elections?
How about:
Two story house. Everyone just vote downstairs?
Lessons from the Orange Revolution: Except in our case, Hillary did not fight, she succumbed. 18million would have followed her in the streets demanding justice. We had her covered and she didn’t grab that gold ring.
tennis ready to begin
I could clean out the senate and house if I walked in there topless. Maybe I will!!!!
as I said before Texas I love the idea of a Stephanie’s List
I think Murphy means NOBAMA – period .

I’m willing to watch the “O” speech tonight. Closed captioned with the sound off of course. lol
“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” I want to keep an eye on NObama!
Murphy: Moreover, on this issue of not voting for anyone for President, I would like to see a vote of the members of this Pac. I feel very strongly about this.
If on the one hand, you do not wish people to express their views for various candidates, yet, tell people not to vote for any candidate at the top, then, tell me just where and how are we supposed to express our views relative to your admonition and on the blog?
Hey, yeah, (I’m obviously enjoying my own idea here, sorry!), you know how Murphy always says, take it upstairs. So, this time it can be, stay downstairs. The upstairs is haunted! (I think I need a little break…)
#111 You have guts!!! Keep us informed
NewOrleans — not at all — It is Nothing On Top for the DEMOCRATIC PARTY only.
The Puma PAC PROTEST OF THE 2008 ELECTION means that we will not be voting for the DEMOCRATIC candidate for president. Millions of us will vote for John McCain. Millions of us will leave it blank. Many will vote 3rd Party.
We are urging EVERYONE to vote however. Dont stay home. USE your vote in the most effective way you in good conscience can.
Thank you for helping me be more clear
Anna7000 on – ((((( ANNA)))) I like the vote downstairs thing
#112 neworleansPuma Murphy says to vote for whomever you wish, just don’t vote for Obama.
THANKS Queen 81 AND Murphy…………this waiting is taking its toll on me.
#104 I agree. It would be easier to form a new party because there are so many who need to be purged that it would take too much energy. Just leave them in the party to scheme and cheat and move on with an honest party for The People.
nobama /for me thats mcain now hillary 2012
Obama is representing the Democratic Party in this coming election. But what IS the platform. Everyone has changed their minds about so many things….
Obama can’t be nailed down to anything but hot-air promises…and the results of the primaries and convention lead me to believe there IS no Democratic Party anymore.
The only thing that vaguely resembles it anymore is PUMA. But leaving the top open seems like voting against myself.
Murphy,
Please, don’t say we should vote for whomever we want and then say in the next breath we should follow your instructions and vote for NO ONE at all in the GE, effectively disenfranchising ourselves.
No one is being pressured to become anything; We’re not being pressured to become Republicans. Most of us are Democrats from way back. But we put our country’s best interests BEFORE supporting a corrupt current Democratic Party.
The only way we have to fix the Democratic Party is to ensure it looses its power for NOW, not forever, for now, until it can be returned to what it was that we all believed in and loved.
If you leave it essentially exactly as it is now, and abdicate your obligation to make a choice by telling people to NOT follow their own conscience and instead abstain from voting completely you will give up any power you have to be taken seriously as a change agent.
Some may decide to abstain, but as a group, if that is our position, it is fatal for this movement and the future of a reformed Democratic Party.
GoHillary – Tsongas received funds from both Obama and Pelosi. I expressed my displeasure at her support of Obama when her district went heavily for Hillary. I also sent a contribution to Cindy Sheehan .
I want Kerry removed from the Senate. Bill O’Reilly is running against him in the MA Primary on Sept 16th. You may want to check him out.
Murphy, jennifer here…
I do NOT think we should vote for DEMOCRATS down ticket but rather we should vote the BEST PERSON down ticket. I am making a list of all democrats that BETRAYED US and I will NEVER VOTE FOR THEM AGAIN.
What do you think about using the word “best person” instead of democrat???
note: I am NOT a republican and never will be, but I cannot give my allegiance to Democrats just because EVER AGAIN….
HILLARY is my president, and even though she may have to wait until 2012 to sit in her office, she will be my leader from this day on….EXCEPT NO SOB!!
LivingGrace -Ok , Ok , if you insist , you may write me in .
I’m with you Murphy, The Democratic party belongs to the people. We will get it back. We will nurse the Party back to health & find a cure for Deanitis and the bugs that he nourishes. Whatever it takes, Pumas are strong,
Pumas are fierce and Pumas will be the force for change within our Party. Thank You Murphy and all those with you now for being my voice and for the cry of all Pumas across this great nation. Job well done in Denver.
Someday when our work is done, this nation will be in a better place to serve us all with justice and liberty assured. Thank You…

Now we’re accused of being Republicans. Guess it’s an improvement over being called Racist.
We’re going to have to watch out for antics from Camp Obama graduates in November. I have no doubt they’ve been well coached on tactics taken from the Carl Rove playbook.

McCain and the GOP must be laughing themselves simple.
Murphy, I appreciate your post – however, every Democratic Party member who drank the koolaid & jumped on the chariot is in trouble as far as I am concerned. I will not be voting for anyone who has supported precious – don’t care if they are male or female – don’t know who I will be voting for in November but I know who I will be voting against…….
When Democracy returns to the Democratic Party, so will we.
104 Kelligesq~~~ Yep, yep…what you said. I agree completely. We need a whole new party. Nothing is left of the Democratic Party I’ve known the last 50 years.
sigh…I dunno, I have too many rhymes running through my head now…
people she said if you cant vote for mcain due to personal beleifs then ok
just leave the top blank ! please lets stay united we have to defeat nobama at all costs
well not all costs but ,any respectable nonviolent ways of protest
Sorry I will not vote down ticket either – there are a few turn coats in Arizona that will not get anything from me and I will do my best to unseat them – maybe they all should have thought about that before being turncoats -
murphy, do i remember that there are appx 230 “just say no deal” communities? and if so, can you all have a BIG conference call and unite those of us who share the same end goal? now is the time to bring us together, so as to create the necessary numbers to really be effective.
kat – oh lordie, girl, i think you need a break, too!
Jenni — That is a marvelous idea, making a list of the worst offenders in the Dem Party (with Nancy P at the top of the list, imho) and then targeting them for un-election. In fact we already have the start of just that.
Our strategy for the 12 weeks will be to get the Nothing on Top message out to Democrats and to identify those states and districts that are MOST vulnerable for Obama AND states that he NEEDS to win (Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia anyone?) and focusing our GOTV, ground troops there …
But we have to remember that the vast majority of elected democratic officials are state-level folks who work hard for their districts.
Welcome home Murphy! We missed you.
I love McCains new add addressed to Senator Obama “congratulations – how perfect that your nomination should come on this historic day”
Press is interpreting it as a compliment. How PERFECT is the planning and execution……they just don’t get it
That’s what happened in 1864 It was all one party and then decention appeared and the party spit into dems (franklin) and Rebubs (adams). Learnt that here I did
Murphy: In additon, every single move of the Obama campaign in the states, in the caucuses, at the DNC at as its intended purpose to disenfranchise every voter who disagree with his candidacy. After 10 months, Democratics need to squash this candidate and his methods. Not to vote for either candidate is certainly no way to do that, especially in the swing states.,
I am stunned frankly by this admonition from you.
I urge everyone not to pursue this method, but to choose a candidate and to vote. That is our duty,
That is our responsibility as voters in this country.
Do you realize how many votes this would not show on the table? Millions.
There is no way I can support anyone who helped in this fraudulent process, down ticket or not!
Vote down ticket. That is a good idea. Not every one is an uncommitted like me.
That is a good idea. Fair play and all.
lol Anna.
Just heard from Maryland and she is at her next gate waiting to board US AIR 4648 which will leave at 7:40 and she will be home at 9:27. Thank God our airport is small and it only takes me five minutes to get there. If I stayed home I could probably see her plane fly over my house. All the planes do when they are landing or taking off.
She will probably post when she gets here. She sounds exhausted and ready to drop. It has been a loooooong day for her. Thanks Guys for everything!!!
I think that as long as you are making an educated vote of YOUR values downticket – it’s all good . We will not have a Democrat POTUS and therefore it is imperrative that we have control of the house and senate in order to prevent Justices from being appointed to the Supreme Court that may vote a certain way – or to protect and promote the platform of the Democratic party . If you feel that the issues that are important to Democrats are the issues that are important to you than you will really , really , really want to put a lot of thought into your decision ..
anyone who has the fortitude to watch the obamadramarama tonight is one tough person. i’m sticking close to my husand and my cat and burying the remote control so no one can accidentally step on it and turn on the tv. hey, maybe i should bury it with a note for future civilations to find. it could say: buried the day democracy died in the democratic party.
Murphy, as usual, has the BEST IDEAS….
Yes, let’s make a list and get THEM out and BO out and elect GOOD PEOPLE this year…..this is a goal that is positive in function and result.
ALL BAD democrats must be punished with BO, and all GOOD ELECTED OFFICIALS should be reward. Sounds simple huh……we best start working NOW
OMG!!!! The PUMA’s are going topless??????? Talk about ‘liberation’!!!!

Murphy,
Glad you are home safe and sound and thank you so very much for representing us with grace, intelligence and humility. You are the best!
Hopefully we can encourage the removal from office all those politicians who have subverted the process and denied Americans true representation. Together we’ll make difference, just as we have already! We’ll work through the semantics, we all know our goal is the same….NOBAMA, and NO elected officials who choose not to represent their voters.
#124, I am with you on that there are some down ticket dems I will vote against. I am not giving money to any Democrat this year but I will vote for WA states two Dem Senators.
LIVING GRACE SAID:
#97 LivingGrace on 08.28.08 at 7:15 pm 62 Kelligesq~~~ I agree. If they sold us out, they don’t get my vote. Period. I’m all for forgiveness and compromise, and second chances and reconciliation, but not at the expense of the Constitution. Without that, we have no country, let alone party.

They allowed the shredding of the Constitution and our rights.
No freedom of speech, no protection from illegal search and seizure – they are accomplices to turning the country that was the beacon of light for the world into a police state.
Murphy: I would like you to address my comments.
Thank you.
Virginia has Mark Warner running for John Warners slot. Now way to defeat him in Virginia. Just a fact. He is up by 40 some points over Repub Gillmore.
I want to sink Wasserman so bad I can taste it> Florida. But she is running unopposed. I was going to give money to her opponent.
I could check out Wexler, the rabid bumb. We may have a great chance of kicking his rear out cause he was found out to be living in MAryland but representing Florida. I’ll check out who his opponent is.
145 virginia.puma ~~~ The only problem with that is that Franklin and adams were not alive in 1864.
FAVOR IMPORTANT FAVOR!! My mother came home IN TEARS today because her bridge group (lots and lots of mostly jewish women) cannot SEE what is going on….
Can someone please give me a fact sheet or one page list that concisely states the issues for women in their 60’s….
PLEASE!!!

Happy to hear she is well and will make it home tonight!
Actually, I just had regret that I posted the MadLib.
I know that this is a significant historic moment. The hearts of many good people are soaring tonight. I do want to respect that.
Re: down ticket voting. Just make sure that whoever you vote for is good. Just cause someone’s different doesn’t mean they’re better. Could just be another jerk with a different name. It’s not simple, at least for me. Whoever I vote for has got to be a viable candidate, otherwise, I couldn’t feel good about voting for them. Just because they are the opposition to who I dislike in the party right now isn’t enough. These are the people who vote on major issues that impact our daily lives. The only candidate I can reduce down to a simple equation is Obama. All the rest, I’ll have to evaluate on a case-by-case basis.
Murphy,
What did happen at the convention? We heard rumors that the original balloting was very close and that Pelosi was doing “damage control”. Then the talking heads were saying that the Obama Campaign had declared that it was their convention and they would run the roll call the way they saw fit (on Fox).
Then that farce was rolled out.
O/T <A HREF=”http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Conventions/Story?id=5676191&page=3″Clinton Donors defecting to McCain
Murphy,
The “nothing on top” strategy is a big mistake. I understand what you are trying to do, but can you think of a different way to express your objection to this election? Please. I will NOT give up my vote. I don’t want that to be the official position of this group. IT goes against everything I believe in regarding a citizen’s obligation to participate in their democracy.
On the anniversary of Suffrage, you want to NOT VOTE?
That is the saddest thing I’ve heard in a long time…..
It is a very difficult decision for a lot of us, NOT voting is one option, and I fully respect those individuals who chose to take that route.
But I refuse to marginalize myself or promote the marginalization of anyone. Sitting on the sidelines is not what is going to fix the Democratic Party.
Living grace…Oh well,I flunked. Got the names wrong but it did happen.
hi guys and gals
I cried big time today.
I spent a couple of hours reading the posts from yesterday evening during the “roll call” especially after reading ASIAN4HILLARY’s letter to Hillary.
And guess what …I’ll probably cry again for the same reasons many others have.
We love our country.
We love democracy.
We loved our party.
We must work to abolish this farcical caucus system.
It is repeatedly causing so much harm to the election process and the people’s belief in the value of Democracy.
We are Americans, we yearn for Democracy.
We should stand as an example to other nations for We the People hold most dear.
For me, the Puma’s protest of the Democratic Primary was NOT about Black or White. I was a supporter of BO until I learned more about him. This protest was about Right and Wrong. It was about integrity and fairness. Values I cannot compromise. While I am compassionate about the joy many African Americans are feeling at this moment, I am of the belief that the nomination was FORCED upon the voters and I am outraged that the DNC did not have the wisdom to Ensure that the first nominee
of color happened without tampering, without coersion and with full authenticity. That would have been more to our honor than what has transpired this year! Thanks DNC for showing the dedicated members of this party how much you truly think of us… you have shown that you do NOT trust your own party and Our judgment to elect the most qualified man or woman regardless of race gender or age. I would have been proud to support the First AA Nominee when it happened of its own volition and I believed it would happen in my lifetime. But I never believed I would ever witness such outright blatant, shameless SEXISM and behind the scenes arm twisting in my Democratic Party as I have seen these past few months. I’ve read about all the threats to Hillary supporters, by whom the threats were made, I cannot say… but I DO know that I NEVER heard ONE PEEP from the DNC or the Obama Campaign condemning such threats.
I hold in highest regard those individuals who stood firm by their convictions in the face of such threats, both to their physical well being AND to their careers and political future (ie, NY Governor Patterson). I hold in the HIGHEST Regard those who stand by their convictions and stand firm in the face of ridicule and belittling by their peers because they demonstrate INTEGRITY.
That is why I for one will vote for a strong and honorable man JOHN MCCAIN in this Presidential Election. I am WITHOUT DOUBT that he truly loves his country. Just as I was without doubt that the Clintons truly love their country.
No, I don’t have alot of money. I am one of the Little People. I will never know Nancy Pelosi or any of the Democratic Powers That Be personally. I will never hold sway over the goings on in Washington. Their wealth and power will go unaffected by me as an individual, but I can assure you… there is Power in Numbers. There is POWER in the indignation and dissent they have created within this party.
God BLESS our diverse and beautiful country.
~NativeFlower
IMO
We are dealing with corruption. Leave the top space blank and by a “miracle”, Obama’s name will appear when the votes get counted.
jenni – what is it you want it to focus on? obama’s (lack of) credentials or what’s happened in the party re: maniulation?
oops, lets try that again
Clinton Donors Defecting To McCain
jenni – what is it you want it to focus on? obama’s (lack of) credentials or what’s happened in the party re: maniulation?
85 BrooklynNY – I agree with brooklyn on this point. As distasteful as it is for some to vote for McCain (or a republican) the logic is that if there are 2 candidates (major ones) and you want to defeat candidate A, the only way you do that is by making sure that candidate B gets more votes. There are some choices in life that are unpleasant.

NOTE: I wrote this when I was reading through the posts late last night before I saw Murphy’s AM blog, so some of this she & others here may have covered today enough already! Sorry, too that I haven’t had time to ‘edit’ this so that it’s more concise!
———————————–
RE: PEOPLE THAT MAKE THE CASE FOR VOTING FOR MCCAIN
(and people that feel others are trying to “push” them into it)
Some PUMAs here have been making a case for “voting Mac” (& even, in some cases, urging others to do so) and I’ve noticed that certain other pumas have gotten “upset,” presumably because they interpret this to mean that they are being cajoled or manipulated or “pushed” into doing something they don’t want to do. One or two even threatened to leave PUMA over this (yesterday).
As PUMAs we’ve all agreed to join in protesting the 2008 presidential elections by voting against (or not voting for) BO. So I see nothing wrong with discussing the best strategies to ensure that BO doesn’t win, and that includes the very effective strategy of voting for McCain.
Feeling pushed or cajoled or manipulated or controlled is optional… a choice we don’t have to make. Each of us is a free individual who chooses what seems best or most fitting based on the info and arguments we take in. We are free to evaluate all the info or arguments presented to us and make our own decisions.
I know that defeating BO is not our sole mission here. But I feel that if we all share that common goal, then what’s wrong with discussing effective ways of achieving that end?
I would have never even considered the possibility of voting Repub not too long ago… But, since I’m now committed to helping to bring about a BO electoral loss this November, I now welcome other people’s input on this.
In my case, I’ve now decided I’ll vote McCain, but I still cannot get myself to campaign for him. BUT… I’m open to hearing anyone presenting a case for that. It’s even OK if you try to persuade and convince me. Not that I’ll readily do what anyone tells me. But I like to keep an open mind to what different people have to say (and then make up my own mind).
I refuse to assume the victim-stance or attitude of “feeling pushed” into anything just because someone is presenting a case for something or trying to convince me of something.
If you’ve ever been a part of any political group or committee or have attended business meetings about anything, you know you have to learn to be open to people presenting ideas which they try to sell you or convince you about their benefits, etc. I try to keep an open-mind in such situations, examine the ideas, engage in discussion, etc.
I’m not encouraging anyone to overstate a point or try to pound it into us or “bash” anyone who feels different. But I don’t see anything wrong with making your case as strongly and fully as you like, even as many times as you like (to present different angles, or just so you can reach different people that come on at different times).
When people here present their case for “voting Mac,” they shouldn’t feel like they have to be “super-careful” or excuse themselves or qualify what they say (w/“I’m not trying to make anyone do what I believe”, etc).
There’s room for all views here! Different strategies (for defeating BO on Nov. 4) might be OK, depending on your state, how close the race is there, etc. etc.

I think you might have misread the thread . here is what Murphy said , “But we will NOT vote for Barack Obama for President. Each individual Puma PAC member will make her or his OWN decision in the voting booth about whether to vote for John McCain or to LEAVE IT BLANK (or to vote 3rd Party). That is up to you.”
She is not encouraging prople not to vote at all , just to leave the Democrat side blank on top .
Murphy, thank you for the scoop on orange – and not too mention everything else!
mzebest, thank you for the links!

Some guy on my space was saying how the Republicans smeared Obama right after. How they lie.
I was like, what the heck was that last night? PLEASE,
I want Hillary but there is a lot of video from that convention and the race. In 2012 the Repubs are going to hurt my feelings with it. I am not happy about that. How will I defend my choice then? For the party?
I am really angry right now.
Hey PUMAS -
Read this op-ed by Geraldine Ferraro:

carribeanpuma – wow, chilling post. worth re-thinking my “conscientious objector” plan. maybe at least writing in a 3rd party candidate so the space isn’t blank for any mischief-making. truly great point.

Murphy, your guidence and leadership is what we need after you recoup! Be good to you! same for Maryland, Dances and the entire Denver Puma group.
Love you all……
A BOGUS THREE DOLLAR BILL HAS SURFACED AT THE EVERGREEN STATE FAIR’S REPUBLICAN PARTY BOOTH IN WASHINGTON STATE. THE BILL FEATURES BARACK OBAMA WEARING A HEADDRESS, PROPELLING A WIDESPREAD MYTH THAT HE IS MUSLIM. SOME CALL IT A JOKE, BUT NOT EVERYONE IS LAUGHING.
REPUBLICAN COUNTY CHAIR GERI MODRELL SAYS SHE NEVER APPROVED THE BILL AND HAS ASKED VOLUNTEERS TO PUT THEM AWAY.
THEY ARE NO LONGER BEING SOLD AT THE FAIR, BUT THEY ARE WIDLEY AVAILABLE VIA THE INTERNET.
MODRELL SAYS SHE IS WORKING TO TRACK DOWN THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE
susie1945 – good piece. unfortunately ferraro’s last comment is a bit of a disappointment, as if there’s something obama could say tonight that would carry weight for voters still on the fence. i was surprised to hear her give his words that kind of weight and credibility.
I can see some people see “nothing on top” as meaning don’t vote for any president at all. Ya, I can see it is not self-explanatory enough…
“Top Ticket Stick It”………?
(Covers those voting for McCain, writing Hillary in, Not voting for BO, voting third party, etc) Need something universal maybe.
Welcome home Murph
Thank You for all your hard work.
I dunno, I’ll be back later on. I am starving for dinner…
Brooklyn — I believe we agree pretty much 100% — I will work on refining what I’m saying to avoid further confusion.
It is true however that we are under pressure to now “Get Behind McCain.” My inbox is FULL of requests from Republican campaign people asking me to use this blog to push McCain’s message, and to ACTIVELY campaign for him.
Let me be clear about that:
NOT
GOING
TO
HAPPEN
Additionally, I have no objection to Republican voters being members of Puma PAC — we welcome every single voter in the USA. However, we ARE the Democratic Party (the voters) with some Independents as well.
Our platform is the Democratic Platform — you know, the REAL one, that Hillary Clinton would have put into effect:
Healthcare for Every American
Equal Rights
Good Public Schools
Workers’ Protections
Fair Immigration Policy
Civil Rights
Responsible foreign policy
Reproductive rights
and other things I probably forgot
Have we looked at the Convention itself? Would it be worth looking into complaints to the State Attorney Generals about the delegate vote roll calls? Do we have grounds? Are they not bound by state law? I know we had contacted them to try to leverage some influence, but shouldn’t they be the ones pissed off about this?
Get some of those Republican AG’s going.
Anyone but Obama on top.
Voter’s rights
Counting every vote every time
End to unfair caucuses
Murphy – Amen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Healthcare for Every American
Equal Rights
Good Public Schools
Workers’ Protections
Fair Immigration Policy
Civil Rights
Responsible foreign policy
Reproductive rights
and other things I probably forgot
169 BrooklynNY – The only thing that’s going to fix the democratic party is a big whopping defeat in this election with this particular candidate. It’s miserable for a lot of people that the choice isn’t better, but the only way to defeat BO is to get McCain elected. Sorry, but sometimes the choices we have in life suck.
Murphy this last post makes one wonder if the Puma movement was and isn’t completely just about Hillary and not the DNC and the corruption??? Because to vote for anyone that did not stand up for the citizen vote is a party to the Corruption of the Democratic Party.
Now with this “VOTE FOR AS MANY DEMOCRATS AS YOU CAN” idea that you are promoting does not accomplish the purposes of punishing the corrupt party….I do say we want a Republican Congress, but then the Democratic Congress didn’t do anything anyway so that’s a toss up.
This is so much bigger than Hillary.
I would suggest a very educated and discretionary voting for those that supported us and Hillary……and any Democrat that wants our vote must sign a written contract of commitment to citizen election reform, loyalty to the citizen population over Party loyalty. The main purpose for this is then you have a contract paper trail to go to when they go back on it. This is not an uncommon thing for any candidate to sign that is a candidate of integrity and sincerity. It is just another form of getting a gaurantee of constituent accountability.

Texas Tigress: Leaving the Presidential slot blank means no vote there. We must vote for a candidate in this election. I also disagree with not voting for a candidate for President. The very essence of our freedom is about making a choice through a vote for somebody. A no vote in any slot on a ballot puts that voter off the table in the choice. Ideological, and theoretical protests and actions are great and necessary before election day. On this election day, especially with the outrageous fraudulent voter registration drives by Obama, not voting is equivalent to registering a vote for the opposition.. I have asked Murphy to address her comments. If in fact what you , Texas, is accurate then I would hope she would clarify, and if in fact it is not, then I continue the position I hold.
And frankly, I do not care who thinks I am a Republican or not…I am not. This Pac is not and that is not the issue, certainly at this point. The issue is to assure a vote against Obama and one does not do that by not voting at all.
Sorry…that is supposed to be ” I don’t say we want a Republican Congress”

My interpretation is that the McC camp is stressing the fact that BO was selected, and not elected, and that his crowning would occur on this historic day. Planned at least 2 years ago.
I feel that PUMA is about our failing democratic process and that Hillary Clinton best represents the people being shortchanged – US IN THE MIDDLE!

HOW TO MAKE SURE “THEY” DON’T THINK YOU’RE A REPUB
…when you post/discuss the strategy of “voting Mac”
(feel free to take some of this with a grain of humor)
*Use a code word for JM (What’s his birth year?) >MENTION: you’re a Dem or Indie * you’ve always voted Dem *you voted/campaigned for HRC * It’s a protest vote * “I’ll plug my nose” “my heart will bleed” “I’ll imagine Hillary when I vote JM (or see her name in place of his) * “It’s ‘just’ a strategy (to defeat BO & for HRC to run in 4 yrs)” * It’s “what works” “an effective means” “a means to a different end” “I’m doing this w/a long-term vision (beyond 4 years)” “it’s for a better future, in the long-run” * “He’s the lesser of 2 evils” or “the better choice” * It’s to wake up the DNC (& spur some “house cleaning” or “reform”) * “I’m part of the new resistance movement” * “If we made it through 8 Bush years, we can live w/a centrist/moderate Repub for 4!” * “I’m going to defy all expectations… [or] do something very different… this November” * “A little cognitive dissonance is good for you” ** “Get in the booth, feel your anger well-up, and then pull the lever for JM!” * “We’re Dems working to loose this election (so we can win in the future!)””

This newbie PUMA is signing off for now. BBL to report on “O”’s speech.
Wish me luck on that….
Hello Pumas,
This is my second try!
I just got home from work and my phone rang. It was a person from Emily’s List asking for matiching donations for the great DP. Needless to say, I could hardly wait to speak.
I explained that I have been a lifelong Democrat since 18 and will be voting a straight Republican ticket except for one Senator and Congresswoman. She said, please don’t do that.
Next, I identified myself as a Puma Pac member describing the caucus fraud, buying off of super delegates and BO’s directing public and private funds to his bundlers. She must have said “please don’t do that” four times.
Everytime that she tried to defend the DP, I would have none of it, stating that the American voters are not blind to the corruption and it was our own party that cheated their voters.
She was gracious enough to thank me and we hung up.
What a way to start a Puma afternoon. I’m going to spend some time reading your posts.
susie – oh, god, i hope i’m not heading toward the “bitter old hags” group!!!
Reply to post from Mick on previous thread. If you want some ways BO is like Bush, here is an email I sent to a friend today who is a BO supporter (I apologize for the length in this format):
I watched all candidates closely, did my homework on the final two and was appalled by what I learned about your guy and what I saw perpretrated against the other candidate. I checked Waffles voting record, went to the Chicago newspapers and scoured their archives for stories on him back to 2004 and watched him operate on the Senate floor on C-Span. Scary stuff. Extreme arrogance, lack of any firm core beliefs and worst of all IMO, too many style and personality matches with George W. Bush:
* GWB – Made nominee because of his Name, BHO – Made nominee because he’s black and this is the anniversary of MLK’s I have a dream speech.
* GWB – No real experience to call on for the job – BHO (143 days in the Senate is not good enough background for me)
* GWB – Was called his father’s enforcer when Sr was in office,
BHO – Known for strong arming political opponents to clear the field for him and give the mistaken impression that no one even opposes him (long alarming history there in Chicago).
* GWB – Empty suit, BHO – empty suit
* GWB – Small militant group of hard core supporters who chant his slogans and don’t ask for any substance, BHO – same
* GWB – Ran on Hope, Change and reaching across the aisle (no substance), BHO – same.
* GWB – Coddled and completely scripted campaign, BHO – my god yes.
* GWB – Bought and paid for by corporate interests, BHO – bought and paid for by corporate interests and criminal entities.
* GWB – Heavy lobbyists support, BHO – heavy lobbyist support despite what his campaign says (that info is out there for anyone not too lazy to look it up).
* GWB – Changes positions whenever it benefits him to do so, BHO – flip on FISA, campaign financing, Off shore drilling, saying in 2004 he would not run for pres in 2008, etc. and a long record of rewarding those who support him with big money from his govt. positions.
* GWB – History of drug and alcohol abuse, BHO – history of hard core drugs as recently as 1999.
* GWB – History of ambivalent feelings about his father, BHO – did not even attend his mother’s funeral.
* GWB – Talking points that his followers repeat ad nauseum, BHO – slogans, slogans, slogans everywhere on his podiums, on the wall behind him in interviews, everytime a camera is on him. His personal Presidential seal, his Ologo on his plane, his website, everywhere they can paste it. Dyeing his hair black for the primary to make him seem young to young people, then letting it go grey for the general election.
* GWB – People in his admin said they were ordered to put his name multiple times on every page in every report they issued and every speech they made (inflating his importance), BHO – all his spokepeople on tv charging that HRC did not mention his name enough times in her speech at the convention. I think it was only 16 times.
GWB – complete disregard for the dignity of his opponents, BHO – giving HRC the finger at a rally and brushing her off his should while his minions cheered. Calling the Clintons racist, give me a break.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DygBj4Zw6No&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKeW1TLjMrs&feature=related
* GWB – Lopping off the heads of anyone he did not think was loyal enough, BHO – refusing to allow Charlie Rangle, Jessie Jackson and other AA’s who supported HRC in the beginning have any role in “his” convention.
All these and more are why I can never put this country in the hands of another George W. Bush. I call BHO a Chicago thug and everything I’ve found about about him reaffirms that, even if you discount some of the more outrageous charges. It’s gonna rain McCain in November and that’s who I’m voting for. And after watching this convention, I’m voting Repub all down the ticket, for the first time in my 30 years of voting straight Democrat. I watched the Republican platform committee hearing this morning and the moderates are trying to take back the party. I can support that. I can’t support 4 more years of Geroge W. Bush.

See you at the polls in November.
#206 Your username….it’s something that we have heard over and over again.
Why can’t it be “Remember in November”???
It seems to cover everything I can think of.
Did someone already take that saying?
It’s to be expected that the republicans are going to court us. McCain is doing it himself. We have to decide whether or not we really want to defeat BO. As far as I can see – maybe I’m being simplistic here – the only way to do that is to make sure the other guy wins. It doesn’t mean your a republican. It means your a pissed off Democrat. Maybe we shouldn’t get too hung up on labels.
NewOrleansPuma – I totally agree with you on not voting at all – Murphy said she was going to clarify – just remember -there is a top to the Democrat side of the ticket and a top to the repub. side – and possibly a third party top position . The top of the D. side is the one that should be left empty ..
Peace to you , lets go get some mudbugs now
New Orleans – head up here if it starts getting to bad – I’m abouot 3-4 hours north .
Rabblerouser I agree I have no loyality to a corrupt party that soul me out for their own greed
LEELASAVAGE
I noticed that Bill had his mouth open to brreathe allthe time, typical of a heart patient, or someone not gettting enough oxygen in their blood , ?
and why wouldnt a heart patient be on tranquilizers after what the DNC and obot dogs did to him through this election?
You know what they were playing when he came on and went off the stage? “Addicted to Love”
You know what they played when Hillary gave her concession speech – a song with the words “One less bitch to worry about:
I’m not kidding you. I dont listen to those songs, but someone younger posted the words -soemthing about 99 bitches, one less bitch to worry about”
He’s a sunuvabitch.

Going to bed. Nite
Murphy – great plan! Also, can you tell me a great place to move to in Massachusetts? I could sell my home in California and have more money to give to PUMApac. Love what your state did at the convention.
It started…the BO Show. John McCain’s congradulations ad came on (those GOP members must be busting out laughing everytime they see it).
They are getting some milage out of MLK. He must be rolling over in his grave over the farce and the Temple.

Take it easy.
(((wontbackdown )))))YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU !!!! LOL
Does anyone know if we have a Puma who is a constitutional attorney, or knows one? I don’t think just voting against delegates who betrayed their constituents will be sufficient. What is needed is to legally prohibit delegates from taking contributions from candidates. Without the “contributions” I think many more delegates would not have been swayed. There needs to be legislation to prevent candidates from basically bribing the delegates.
Another thing:
Both The Democratic Party and The republican Party are receiving millions of dollars from people and corporations that are going to get a “pay-back”. Those donors usually give money to both parties and that’s “politics as usual”.
My suggestion is that we donate to PUMA and the other groups that are fighting our war, instead of the political parties.
Our vote is the most important thing right now. They must earn it.
Lets fight to make sure that : EVERY VOTE IS COUNTED.

–> WHAT BILL SAID WEDNESDAY NIGHT:
”We all have to get behind Obama, blah, blah, blah……”
–> WHAT BILL SAID TUESDAY NIGHT (which is how he really feels):
“Suppose for example you’re a voter. And you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that person can deliver on anything. Candidate Y disagrees with you on half the issues, but you believe that on the other half, the candidate will be able to deliver. For whom would you vote?”
==> SINCE CANDIDATE X LACKS THE EXPERIENCE & PREPAREDNESS TO EFFECTIVELY DELIVER ON HIS PROMISES…
I’ll take candidate Y… even if I don’t agree with everything!

I think that grooming BO and “selecting” him was an act of desperation by the DP…being that they have won so few Presidential elections in the past years. I guess their mottos now are: “Do anything to get a Dem elected even if you stretch the rules or make up new rules as you go along” and “It’s if you win not how you play the game that counts”…I no longer can claim that I am a democrat..ugh!!
GOOD EVENING EVERYONE…… ******** LEFT THIS COMMENT AT THIS SITE *****
http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/28/the-media-created-myth-of-disunity-among-the-democrats/
It is not a myth!!!
There is great disunity among democrats (I no long capitalize it)… the members of the Just Say No Deal coalition are as adamant as ever in their distrust and disgust with the democratic party!
We will remember… we will not be forgetful of the primary season. Call me bitter, but to me bitter means Brave these days. With the thugs that support Obama not reaching out, but continuing to badger and berate non-Obama supporters, I am forced to believe that Obama is the same way.
He has not reached out to the 18 million voters of Hillary Clinton… He has not defined himself… He has not unified the party.
The Clinton’s did all they could. They were more than gracious to a man who called Bill Clinton a racist and Hillary who was given the “finger” (YOU know which one I mean) after the Pennsylvania debate. His supporters knew what he was saying when he scratched his cheek with his middle finger while talking about Hillary and demeaning all women. In the process he demeaned all women. I can only think that he has no respect for women with that gesture……. so yes, the party is disunited and I lay the blame solely on Obama’s , Pelosi’s, Reid’s and Howard Dean’s shoulders.
With his “coronation” the story is complete and with the end of the convention nearing, we see that he still continues his dissing of the voters who voted during the primaries.
Thank You Main Stream media. Thank You democratic party. Thank You Obama for the eye-opening sexist, mysogenist and undemocratic way you do things!
TexasTigress: thank you! As far as the mudbugs, I assure you if Gustaf comes here, all anyone will have to do is wade across anyhighway and scoop them up because theywill migrate, as they do in heat or high waters, across roads! Thanks for the invitation…Onceagain the Texas show why they are the sweetest souls…We spent our time lasttime in Clute, never saw so many wonderful peopl in one place in my life, except here! I got every kind of Texas barbecue imaginable and sweet Texas compassion and great Texas hospitality….But Texas…dawlin…We must vote for a candiate for President, MCCain, Nader, or someother third party. We can not not vote. I have already said I will vote MCCain, and if this daughter of a trade unionist can swallow that, I urge others to do the same!
((((((((((((((((((((TexasTigress))))))))))))))))))))))))
You just made my night! LOL!
If you are saying to vote Democratic down the ticket but oh with the exception of Barack Obama doesn’t that contradict your whole “plan”?
You need to reconsider your “strategy”, maybe put it up to a vote to the PUMA’s on how they want this to go
(example)
Where do you want P.U.M.A. Pac to go from here?
1. vote John McCain
2. vote 3rd party
3. stay home
4. write Hillary in
etc.
If this group will stick you can’t have everyone fighting over what they would like the blog to be like because then you will offend someone all the time if you post something. So I say either you rethink this whole “plan” of yours or put it up to a vote for the PUMA’s of the blog.

Not that I know of – I figured it was too long already!
It has an added meaning for me, having grown up in England.
“Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot”.
Guy Fawkes was caught trying to blow up Parliament. He was NOT successful. So too, on November 5th 2008, we may rejoice that BO was not successful either.

Do the voters of that far, far, far, far away universal mental spheresee what they have in this guy? His supporters are all so forward thinkingand rocket science savvy, I’m surprised they were still so earthened for the speech. Philip Berg has agreed to look into bringing a lawsuit against the DNC for interferring with our choice of nominee in this years election. He has asked that anyone who has anything they feel he has done to break the rules or unlawfully interfere with our vote send it to him or email it to me and I will forward it to him. He also asked if anyone felt they could help by sending as little as a quarter or a dollar to help with expenses he would appreciate it. The DNC should not get away with stealing our election, they are already starting to mess with the general in Ohio. They must be stopped.

Hi Pumas,
I just went and watched Bill Clinton’s speech at the Convention. One word…satire.
The old race card is out again. Hillary Clinton forum has this on their site, its from an email from the DNC, (hold your breath, this one is a doozy)
“And we are up against the enduring emotional power of racism, which will stop at nothing to keep an African-American family out of the Master Bedroom in the All-White House. ”
THAT is how they are going to defeat John McCain, by painting the entire country as racists? Lordy, what levels they have stooped to this time.
with the frau tha went on in the primaries
that actually, we, americans do not know if obimbo is a qualified citizen to become president
we all this precedents
I would think that camp obama militia is already on the way to have people voting that are not american citizen
PS: they song I heard when Clinton left the stage was Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow, which was his campaigns theme song. I’m thinking that the rumors of Addicted to Love is a new urban myth and is not true. CNN also says it was Dont’ stop thinking about tomorrow. Lets check this out please, before we perpetuate another false rumor.
May I add – Yes. RememberNovember is looooooong. My little fingers get so tired. Kat, don’t encourage her to add MORE to the name! Plus, she’s already trending on dangerous ground by considering playing around with extra commas. I’ve thought of just typing RN, but don’t want to disrespect you name (which, by the way, is terrific, but did I also say, loooooooooooong!).

the DNC and the corruption….. to vote for anyone that did not stand up for the citizen vote is a party to the Corruption of the Democratic Party.
……accomplish the purposes of punishing the corrupt party….
________________________-
WOW I NEVER HEARD OF THAT CONTRACT BUT I LIKE IT. CAN YOU POST A COPY OF IT? would they really sign it?

It was Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow, I actually watch tv and don’t rely on other people to tell me what happened.
#234 – I thought that if we stayed home, voted 3rd party or wrote in Hillary, that this was a vote for Obie. I also thought the only way to beat obama is for Mccain to get more votes than Obama. My goal is to beat Obama so I will cast a protest vote for McCain.
#126 jenniforhillary
I agree with you 100%. I will not vote for the Democrats that betrayed Hillary! If we do so, then they’ll do this crap again. I want them out of office. I personally plan on voting for McCain. For me it’s the only way to make sure obama loses the General Election. My husband is a Republican and I have always been a Democrat at heart. I finally took the plunge and voted this year…for Hillary! My kids know that my husband and I support different parties. When they ask why, I usually pounce and say that the Democratic Party stands up for the poor and middle class…that they care more about the issues. Boy was I wrong or what? I am now a PROUD INDEPENDENT and will only become a Democrat again when the leadership changes. In my opinion, if McCain wins…then Hillary has a great shot in 2012. My dream is to see Hillary as President!
Love the stand, love the message – thank you Murphy – I am 100% there! Everyone needs to carefully consider their vote – it’s yours! And I am with the platform even as I left the party on May 31
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC;”
Didn’t they just violate this oath statement by themselves, the DNC/Democrats, being enemies to the constitution, with every corruption they did this year???
#237 TexasTigress…
uh huh… We’ll see. I learned from the best “E” slinger in the West! I can sling my “E” with the best of em’ now!
VOTING FOR DEMS
Murphy, I understand your recommendation to vote down-ticket Dem. I do, however, want to point out that when the Suffragists boycotted the Democratic Party in 1914 and 1916, they boycotted everyone on the ticket. “In deciding to boycott all Democrats, including those who supported suffrage, Paul was holding the party in power responsbile for the failure to give women the vote.” p. 141 of Adams/Keen book
In the past, non-violent resisters have differentiated between boycotting a PARTY vs. an INDIVIDUAL. They held the party itself responsible. I’m not advocating for either right now, but just pointing out how Alice Paul and the Suffragists in her movement made that decision.
I think Murphy’s message is quite clear – Vote for anybody but Obama. Not voting is a vote. Leaving the presidential part blank is also a vote.
I am either going to vote McCain or I am going to leave the Presidential part blank. Either way, it hurts Obama because a Democrat usually can count on my vote.
Let’s stop the micromanaging and get to work. We have a charlatan who is the Democratic nominee who needs to be defeated.
correction: treading, not trending
and
kat, i’ve shortened your name w/o your permission. i love your name too. it always makes me smile. but my little fingers get so tired…..ah, you’ve heard it already.
I read the top posts and the lead in to the thread. I have to say that swing state voters such as me, Virginia, must vote for McCain to ensure that Obama does not win. Allowing the party that disenfranchised us to win is unacceptable! Please consider the effect of withholding your vote in a swing state.

I agree but as a blog I would like there to be a vote on where to go from here, this blog weill not stay united because everyone will have a different interpretation of what this whole thing is about and we’ll never have a clear message, so I’m asking Murphy to set up a poll where we can all vote on what to do.
Jdona,
I think they played dot stop thinking about tomorrow when he came on, or was it the other way,,,,? tired so remember hearing the song dont stop thinking…..but there was a different song too –
Obama is big on these little nuances…like scratching his face with his middle finger while Hillary is talking in the debates…like a jr. high kid, so that all his little kool aid drinkers could get it.
Elaine–I will be voting STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN this year in protest of the DONC’s behavior….GO HILLARY!!
Texas
Got to speak with both of my chitlins today and they both send their love down there!
RADIO BLOG SITE LINK PLEASE
Murphy,
Thank you so much for responding to my concerns and clarifying things. I almost had a coronary here. My blood pressure must be through the ceiling at the moment.
I understand how you feel about Republicans trying to get this to be a McCain campaign site. But at this point the Republicans are our allies not our enemies. Strange times make strange bedfellows….
As you stated, your primary allegiance is to reforming the Democratic Party. I understand that and I share that position. So, perhaps make that a priority on the blog.
Some of us will be actively supporting McCain and voting for him. That DOES NOT MAKE US Republicans. It simply means: given the choices we have this election cycle we chose what we consider to be the best option for our country. NOW. In 2008. That can change drastically in 2012, as we all hope it will.
You don’t have to align with the McCain campaign, but please do not worry that we will become a “Republican” site if individuals express positive reactions to him or his policies. I thoroughly doubt that could happen. What’s unique about PUMA is that we all share a loyalty to democracy, (small “d”) and many, though not all, are disenfrangized, betrayed Democrats or Hillary Clinton supporters.
Returning the Democratic Party to democratic principles benefits us all, every single American, even ones who aren’t registered Democrats and won’t ever vote Democratic.
Whether you want to allow Republicans to help us achieve our goals or not is completely up to you, but at this point they have been much kinder and much more sympathetic to what has happened to us. At least John McCain has and many of his supporters that I have met. He has treated Hillary with the respect and appreciation she deserves. And I do believe it is completely sincere. Sadly, the Democrats, have done the complete opposite. That’s my personal view. I don’t expect anyone to share it, but it’s how I see the current situation.
We need to keep all our options open and stick to the ultimate goal of bringing back democracy to the Democratic Party however we can and making sure Barack Obama does not get elected.
Again, Murphy, I thank you for being open to my concerns and for acting on them. It is appreciated very much.
Murphy and others: For the record, I in no way, nor would I ever advocate that this Pac to come out in official support of McCain. I advocate that we do what we have been doing, figuring out how to defeat Barack Obama at the voting booth in each state, especially the swing states. This demands that people vote for a presidential candidate…not stay home.
In some states, like my own, MCCain is well ahead, and I if I wanted to could stay home…or vote third party, but Iwon’t because this fraud of a candidate Obama and the DNC needs a down your throat vote against him, similaer to that of the MCGovern era. If anything moves so called leaders to a nonleadership position it is loosing at that level. You want DonnaGotDeals to figure out something else to come up with? Give her a defeat she cannot blame on anything other than her and others strategy. Vote for a presidential candidate on election day…Push a lever for someone….Have your vote count…for once in this election cycle.
#237 TexasTigress…
In fact… I even had my eyes closed on that last one!
# 253 droc – i agree with your post. but i can also see there are people here who really need to have this issue more clearly resolved in order to feel comfortable and i respect that, as well. wouldn’t want to be murphy right now.
by the way, murphy, i, for one, concur with your priorities.
From Anonymous at clintondems.com
Open Letter to Barack Obama
If it’s the presidency you seek
You’re hardly asked to be humble or meek,
But only that in the election you won
The voting was lawfully done.
But if you send out a goon, or a thug
Opposing voters to harrass and to mug
Legitimate you will never be called
Howbeit that your cult is enthralled.
Increasing numbers think this was the case
In caucuses of the quadrennial race,
Some held the front door, others the rear,
For your voters the access was clear.
Opposing votes your men moved to restrict
And the balloting box interdict.
The wrong sort of ballots to your men were passed
And into the dumpster were cast.
If victory in this manner was won,
And by your own agents all of it done,
Triumph of this sort no man may laud
The honest call it naught but a fraud
Give back, at long last, this voter implores,
Give back what is not rightfully yours.
Give back what was not rightfully won
And now let the misdeed be undone.

Wow BigCatLover, you have been busy with your research!
Well, this time, regardless of how we got there, we’re on the same team!
Btw, I have 5 cats so maybe I was destined to be amoung a gang of PUMAs. Lol
234 Lets Get It Started – I’m not sure PUMAs as a group should endorse any one action – all of us will choose 1 of those 4 options. Perhaps we should stick with our original plan of presenting ourselves as against Obama and trying to expose the fraud and the corrupt way this primary and nomination was conducted.
We should break down the tasks that need to be done in order to accomplish our goals. If we do that, then we can form subgroups or “committees”, each committee doing one or a few tasks. But our ultimate goal should be to ultimately reform the democratic party (long term goal) and give them the defeat of their lives (short term goal). JMHO
I’ve been a democrat my entire life and I WILL NOT vote for the SD who went against Hillary. I will also vote for MCCain as a protest vote. Remember we own our votes.
Ahhhh geeeee – just turned on my TV and unfortunately CSPAN was on and the KING was on preaching – would not look at the TV screen looking for the towers or flowing urns – all I could hear was his usual voice tone of SCREAMING – he never can talk normally without screaming – I can understand doing that if you are in a crowd that is loud and you have to talk over them – I don’t like listening to him -
Goodnight everyone.

What are our goals? Do we have any?
Voteing nothing on top or “leaving it blank” but saying to vote democratic down the ticket does not make sense and contradicts the whole statement.
A organization can’t have a clear message or idea of even what to do if the members of the group all have a different idea of what to do or what this blog even stands for. How are we gonna go against Obama if we don’t even have someone or something to fall back on. We had Hillary, but shes not in the race anymore so now what. That’s why I’m saying why not VOTE on where to go from here.

Hi Pumas!
I am home from work and ready to protest the election!
Actualy I have been doing that all day.
leelasavage – OMG!!! I typing with tears rolling down my face I’ve been laughing so hysterically from The Onion post you shared. I LOVE The Onion! I literally could not stop laughing. Read it outloud to my husband and we were both laughing so hard. Thank you! Thank you! I would encourage you to keep reposting it every now and again. Just too freaking funny!!!
I’m watching FOX and they are discussing the unfair news that has been going on. MSNBC is the worst in reporting and infighting….surprise!
this goes beyond HILLARY
HILLARY is what they would do to anyone that confronts them
that is why I start to believe some of the things that I read here and there, that 2 month ago I though that it was pure hot imagery
I feel that in talking to others (shall we say in “campaigning” for our cause), what works for one person may not work for another.
To my liberal friends who supported Hillary during the Primaries (and who now lean BO), I trying to present our PUMA case and talking points. AND, I try to enthuse them with the idea that this election gives us a great opportunity to send out a strong message and not vote for the inadequate ‘selected one’, but instead vote for a candidate who reflects your deepest values and principles (who, in their case, is the Green Party candidate or Nader)… even though you know she or he won’t win!
With my more centrist/moderate friends who supported Hillary, I try to show them how McCain is better than BO… how McCain is the better choice.
I also will take your suggestion, Murphy, and suggest that they can also vote heavily Democrat in the rest of the ballot, to make sure McCain has some checks and balances (to keep the administration from going Right in ways we wouldn’t like).
Everyone: I am happy to report that I will have something far more interesting to look at and more relevant than Nero fiddling his fiddle for the plebians in the Coliseum…I will be looking at the Saints beat Miami and in between figure out how long it will be before we are all out of here…
Lets Get It Started – from the very begining , all Pumas have come together from different view points , backgrounds , religious beliefs , and geographic locations . We have all shared common goals – to defeat XO and to reform the Democratic party . We all have ideas about how to do that , and we all have worked together to accomplish amazing things in a very short time . The results of the convention haven’t changed anything other than completely removing Hillary from the ticket . The Democratic party is still undercontrol of hijackers and XO is still running for POTUS . there are so many things we can do together without drawing a line in the sand . Many of my best Puma friends will be voting MCCain – that is their protest , and their right and I support them 100% – but they are here because they are Puma Democrats , and they share the same democratic ideals that led them to support Sen. Clinton in the first place . I disagree that we have to unite behind any specific candidate for POTUS . There are several other sites for McCain and others out there that focus on their candidate , but there is only one that is committed to fixing the Democratic party , and that is right here …… peace
What I personally would like to see is if each of us came up with things that we will not let happen or do for 2012 when she is elected President -
I think if caucuses are still in – hopefully not – then a better feel for them and more representation.
Look at where the biggest delegate count is located – remember that HC won so much of the rural votes almost all the counties in fact the whole State was lit up in her color – and yet he won more delegates with the bigger cities and areas that had THE MOST delegate count – thats the area to put your attention -
These are all the political things that was done –
I want to start a list and I will keep it going for everyone if you send it to my attention of what to look out for -
l. Dead people voting – how do we stop this
2. People being bused into other States by bribery – how do we stop this.
Those kinds of things – I have a few – couple above – but I am sure with this talented group I will be composing all night -
If anyone wants to participate just put my name and I will start it – have to go to school right now – but will be back in about three hours .
I will compile and post what everyone said at a later time.
Who is paying for the ‘coronation’ tonight?
I am in Florida and I will not vote for wexler.
Just got this from O group:
Diane —
When Barack takes the stage tonight, he’ll look out at delegates from every corner of the country and tens of thousands of ordinary people who are here to be part of this historic moment.
But in the very first row he’ll see a group of people who are there because they took ownership of the political process. Some gave just five dollars.
They’re folks just like you, and they represent more than two million Americans who own a piece of this campaign. Our success would not have been possible without so many people answering the call by giving whatever they can afford.
On this final day before Barack formally accepts the Democratic nomination, please celebrate the moment and lay the foundation for our victory in November by making a donation of $5 or more now:
https://donate.barackobama.com/frontrow
Barack is ready. The crowd filling this stadium at this very moment is ready. And America is ready for the change we need.
It’s within your grasp to make that happen.
Thank you,

P.S. — Be sure to tune in to watch Barack accept the Democratic nomination tonight.

I know she used Union help to get illegal votes in the last election. The union bus around people who then vote multiple times at different places. The union does the work and later gets all the contracts. there is more to the story but I will save that for another time.
The problem is no one has to show an id to vote. apparently the union has the names on the register lists. they do this in the big towns like Lowell where it is so easy to cover it up. they use people who can hardly speak English. Yes they are illegal aliens. Very dependent on the union to cover for them.
They use these people to shop lift and if they get caught they are returned to Mexico. Otherwise they pay them half price for the items. These poor people hardly have a choice to earn money.
I wonder if Mass would be so democratic in an honest election.
pamawo #223 — Dorchester MA is the BEST place to move to — it’s Boston’s biggest neighborhood (and my hometown!). It’s diverse, affordable, very close to downtown — on the Red Line.

Have you guys seen McCAin ad? I just saw it on CNN. He is congratulating BHO in a very sarcastic way, like have fun today in your special day, but tomorrow we will get back to work again, something likw that. I love it!
I think the tide has turned and ‘they’ (the GOP and any other Obama ememies) are going after him. FOX reporting MSNBC is going down for their biased coverage, the others so-so~~~~also reporting Obama wants criminal charges brought against the ones who have exposed his connections with Ayers…..
It’s going to get interesting how Obama deals with the heat in the kitchen. LOL

When Democracy returns to the Democratic Party, so will we. In the meantime, any democratic party member that drank the koolaid and jumped on the chariot doesn’t deserve my vote or the votes of the 18 million who voted for Hillary Clinton. This is about more than Hillary now – this is about the fight to regain the Democratic Party and it continues on………………….
Comment by SusiePuma August 29, 2008 @ 12:30 am
What happened today in Massachusetts that is making you guys proud. We are not hearing about it out in Seattle.
I am really mad because it looks to me like Washington didn’t even get to vote in the token corrupt roll call vote. Geez! So people in states that are in the alphabet before NY have a voice and to hell with us? That is so arrogant east coast centric (as usual) and what are WA Dems doing about it? Groveling no doubt and acting thankful.
I change the subject line on any dnc e-mail to read No Way, No how obama, that way they see that even if they don’t open the e-mail!
Obamanot in 2008. I know that Hillary has the ability to clean up the shambles that McCain will leave us with. She’ll probably be able to replace at least one or two conservative supreme court justices too. The Democrat party run by the DNC will lose now, but we’ll all win in the end.
Anna and Kat
You can call me RN – absolutely fine! Goodness, I don’t want to discourage people from talking to me. I won’t change it as my username though – it took me long enough to get registered here in the first place and change my WordPress info to PumaPac. Also, I want to keep ‘Remember in November’ out there, lest you forget! Take care of your little fingers all and call me RN if you like.
Let’s Get it Started – I hear where you’re coming from. At the same time, this is Murphy’s vision and she sets the parameters, goals and tactics. Within that, I’ve found her to be quite tolerant of a lot of diversity (I know I, for one, have probably been a bit of a challenge). Also, taking a vote seems potentially problematic because, 1) again, it’s Murphy’s blog not the manifestation of a group of folks who decided on what it should be, 2) people visit the blog at varying degrees of frequency, so hard to really capture everyone, 3) a lot of folks may not want to feel like they want to or need to reveal how they plan to vote to anyone.

The democratic party at this point and time repulses me, especially the women that took part in this fraudulent scheming to nominate such a weak and insanely inexperienced candidate. I don’t know how I could stomach voting for any of them and I sure as hell am not voting for the baby Christ…….

“And we are up against the enduring emotional power of racism, which will stop at nothing to keep an African-American family out of the Master Bedroom in the All-White House. ”
—————————————————
If this is something the DNC is actually starting to put out there, this will do more damage to our future Democratic prospects than anything else I can think of. There is absolutely nothing to gain by calling half of the country racist, but there IS plenty to lose. Whether or not BO wins, the DNC seems to want to bring on another “Contract With America” Republican tidal wave two years from now. Real smart Dean.
Murphy:
What’s happening with the documentary? Can it be finished before November?
Would be much more effective in defeating precious if we can get nationwide coverage of it. If Michael Moore can do it, why can’t we????
I am a democrat. From the top of my head..to the tips of my toes.
I will not EVER support BO as my nominee, HOWEVER, I do not feel as though I should not be able to vote for the democrats who I think will help to bring about the change within the democratic party.
Those changes are why we are here in the first place. I don’t want to cast my vote in protest. I want to vote, and speak up, and be a watch dog, for the party that I represent and that represents me.
That’s why, in my humble opinion, Murphys posting about nothing on top is perfect. I can vote without completely throwing away my voice in the democratic party.
#303 Thanks for that idea! lov it

How can we reform the democratic party if we vote “democratic down the ticket”?
From the start of this site we all cam here because of the unbalanced coverage of Hillary and because we were all still fighting for her. Thats the reason why we had PUMA Prowls to contact delegates and everything else. We were working for Hillary all up until now.
And now we don’t have anyone to support or do anything so now what. Who are we gonna mass flood their mailbox with if we don’t have a clear message from every PUMA?
jenni – the project i posted earlier is trying to get at those very issues you listed. unfortunately, proof has been hard to come by, especially in sound bites. i’d like to hear in sound bite form what you tell them, if you don’t mind sharing.
meanwhile, deletion police, please do your job. sorry for my double posts…
Fixing the Democratic Party is going to take years. It is going to take some of you younger Pumas running for positions in your city, county, and state Democratic Committees. Are you ready to do that? I hope so.l
The first step to fix the party is defeat resoundlingly the radical usurper who now controls the party. If he wins,
no one can imagine what the party and this country will look like or become before 2012.
Did Maryland PUMA get home?
This is just a suggestion. I would like to see a state by state abortion information page or link put up on this site. I am fed up with the DNC using Roe v Wade and reproductive rights as a threat to keep women in line. All this time they should have been fighting to put appropriate state laws on the books but hey, why do that when you can use the lack of state laws to intimidate your female voters.
Wahoo

Well then it would be nice if Murphy would respond on how she wants this to go. It is her blog there for she needs to decide if she wants a vote or if shes gonna just decide on something and stick with it.
A responce from her is needed.
abortion rights, roe v wade is a non-issue.
Chief Justice Roberts says ther is precedence set, and he is not going to revisit that law.
They’ll have to wait until he kicks the bucket in 50 years or so.
Love It Murphy………That I can Support…..Go Pumas!

I am so sick of received these emails from the Dem Party. I’ve unsubcribed three times already, but their stupid system does not seem to be ‘working’ so I never get the code they are supposed to send. Gaaaaah! Let me out!! LOL
Lets Get It Started – If I were only working for Hillary , I would be no better than the bots . I have been working for the ideals and the positions that Hillary stood for . I have been working against corruption in the party , against a failed caucus system , and against an inexperienced candidate that has no business being POTUS . This movement has always been about much more than Hillary . As far as filling up mailboxes – the MSM loves to hear from us , and there are still many things Pumas have been working on to keep XO off the ballot in November . We have many state officials we need to prowl to get them to change the state laws – like binding pledged delegates , and eliminating caucuses . We can prowl in boxes of SOSs and AGs and Senators and Congressmen/women . The work is really just begining , and THIS is the hard part . Peace
JENNI -
1) caucus fraud
How about showing them the video or extracting highlights you can type out that Clinton Dems was circulating about caucus fraud?
2) threatening of Delegates
Last night on CNN, there was a short segment that included video footage of democratic officials visiting the pledged delegates as they were casting their votes encouraging them not to cause any “drama”. The subtext is quite obvious: We don’t want the show of votes for Clinton to reveal how close this race actually was. At least that’s how I interrupted their admonition of avoiding drama.
3) Illegal or STRANGE practices at this years convention
Illegal is hard to pin down since no one truly seems to grasp, or even have full access to the rules. I believe even Heidi Li has talked about his frustrating on The Denver Group website. However, surely, there have been practices that have been out of step with prior convention practice, whereby candidates had their names placed in nomination without having to jump through a zillion hoops as well as candidates who received all of their pledged delegates votes on the floor during the roll call. You could also refer to the thread Murphy had posted with the memo from the PA official urging delegates to refrain from collecting signatures to ensure Clinton’s name got on the ballot before we knew the result so the “negotiations”. Then there the whole FL and MI problem. DND punishing them for breaking the rules. Obama very vocal about them not having full votes. Then, all of a sudden once it seems he’s got it in the bag, full votes are reinstated (of course since he needs those states and can’t afford to alienate those voters).
That’s a few thoughts off the top of my head. You may want to visit The Denver Group site as well as Heidi’s potpourri site as well.

Murphy and others: Voting a straight down Democratic ticket is also, frankly, not necessarily a way to go,either. There are local politicians here whom I would never vote to put back in office prior to this presidnetial campaign. Local candidates represent local issues. I do not understand why this Pac cannot simply proceed with what it has been doing…assure the defeat of Obama in the fall. Why cannot this Pac analyze the states where votes will be close, the swing states and others, why cannot this pack proceed with grassroots actions against this man? in each state? There are some Democrats running in local camapaigns against some standing Dems that need to be supported, some need to be defeated. Getting into local races is beyond the capapcity and focus of the Pac as this Pac has articulated its purpose. heretofore.
293 Kelligesq – Thank you
There must be a strategy. Allowing this fradulent process to succeed is a non starter. Obama cannot win for alot of reasons. I do not believe he is competent and his nomination is the result of a non democratic process which ignored the will of the people. Feeling bad about casting a vote for a Republican is a small price to pay for ensuring that an unqualified candidate, placed in postion to be the next President of the United States, by an authoritarian leadership is defeated.
Swing State Voters – we need you to vote for McCain!
318 Seattlegirl
try wikipedia – and you’ll find the info on the state by state laws that you seek -
if we all pitch in to answer our own questions and post the question and answer we will be helping anna7000 and the rest of those who have offered to do research
Yes, kelligesq – I think the strategy is going to have to vary from state to state. For those states that always go solid blue, voters will have the “luxury” to vote symbolically. But, in those states that are battleground states, I do believe voting for McCain would have to be considered very seriously by those who might otherwise prefer to not vote.
Remember that little kid that kept tugging on your shirt, asking you to listen (possibly your own child)? You were so pissed off at something at that moment and the last thing you wanted to do was pay attention to some distraction?
Remember?
Well, I’m that obnoxious little kid. As a physician, I work with kids all day who have very serious problems and I’ve learned, through them, that sometimes laughter IS the best medicine.
You can tell me where I can take my merry little interruptions to this very serious conversation (I’m serious about that!), but this is the last posting of The Onion’s very funny article, so there! (wink)….

Obama Modifies ‘Yes We Can’ Message To Exclude Area Loser
‘Yes We Can, Except Nate Walsh,’ Obama Says
“People of America, not Nate, we have the ability to heal this nation,” Obama said. “Yes we can, Nate excluded, seize our future. Yes we can, with the exception of Nate and his stupid cargo shorts that he never washes, turn the page to a new tomorrow. I am confident that where we—and by ‘we’ I mean everyone but Nate—are met with cynicism and doubt and fear and those who tell us that we can’t, we—again, not Nate—will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of the American people in six simple words: Yes we can, except Nate Walsh.”
Added Obama: “God bless the people of South Carolina, God bless America, and fuck you, Nate.”
THE COLOR ORANGE
The Sacral Chakra is associated with the color orange or red-orange. I usually visualize the Sunkist orange that has been dyed to attract the produce buyer, or the orange red of an evening sunset when I’m focusing on spinning my second chakra. This chakra often offers us the opportunity to lessen our “control issues” and find a balance in our lives, teaching us to recognize that acceptance and rejection are not the only options in our relationships. The process of making changes in our life stream through our personal choices is a product of second chakra energy. A well-functioning second chakra helps one to maintain a healthy yin-yang existence.
GO HILLARY!
I like doing ‘research’, but it’s very hard to base ‘proof’ on the written word , sometimes. After all, people still argue whther the Bible is true to this day. Before getting very involved in any research, I would like some basic definition of what constitutes ‘proof’. It’s similar to asking what determines ‘credible sources of information’. Like in ‘peer review’ research, etc. Some of these things we hope to uncover and expose may require the services of a detective.
I am still willing to talk about how I can be of service and help achieve a definitive goal.
leelasavage – i used to work in peds med, but not as an MD. yes, indeed, laughter is powerful stuff!
As a Political Activists and Political Public Relations Director for many campaigns in CA through out the ’80’s and ’90’s I do have to say this now to all PUMAS….we are starting to look and sound frazzled and in complete disarray. What I would like to say to all is to focus….focus on this question…..
Who is it that has personally “damaged/harmed” you in this political year? Be very specific. From there decide what actions are personally needed to rectify the damages done, and then share them with the rest of us so that we can see the different things and maybe coordinate specific efforts.
There is no one absolute action for everyone because everyone is an individual with individual situations and needs to decide what might be best for the personal package…..
I could say just don’t vote for any Democrat…But would that fit your personal package of needs?
I would like to say that, yes the voting booth is important, but there are so so so many things beyond that booth that can be done with even more impact.
So let us all just take a breathe and calm ourselves and meditate on what is best for YOU. Then together we can work to accomplish what needs to be done from now to Nov. 4th, and then the years to come……this a long-term commitment and we will be here for each other for that long haul.

Obama want criminal charges brought against the one that exposed his criminal action!

Now that is funny if he gets away with that one everyone in prison is gonna try it
Republican war room here in Denver has signs saying “A mile high and an inch deep”
Also a great poll on this site. Asks if you could receive a free ticket to Invesco for the speech, would you go? So far 70% no to 26% yes.

Also they were cracking jokes during the news that Oprah had a hard time getting her firends into the stadium so she just bought it and the DNC too. Pretty sick joke! Said she had no trouble going through secret service and is up in a private suite.

Jeez. Sharpclaws. Don’t go!
Living Grace – Once again, as was earlier, your post is right on. I do believe what we’re trying to do truly does require detectives and the media, who have money and staff to send around the world to investigate. We are at a HUGE disadvantage, which is why I posted earlier that I fear what I’m doing may simply be naive. But, I gotta try, even if just for myself. It is very hard though. Keep hanging in with it. I get the feeling you have a spark about research and trying to ferret out fact from fiction.
How dare they pre-empt football games to listen to some politician’s speech?
Well, I’m in Washington State and its about as Democrat as they come other than Oregon. My hope and beacons of lights are Senator Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. They are women who have steered a straight course through all the “mud”. They will always be my source of Democratic values. Neither one of them is on the November ticket thank heavens. My congressman, Brian Baird, has Republican competition. I’ll have to look closely at that race as I’m not a Baird fan for several reasons. His decline started long before O came into the picture. The House of Representative has 239 Democrats and 200 Republican (I think). So loosing one Democrat isn’t going to make a difference if the Republican is someone that will do the job for our district.
Living Grace – Yeah, the written word is particularly challenging. I tend to assume video footage is best. But then look what happened during the Rodney King trial. Perception, interpretation, subjectivity, personal filters, bias. Don’t want to get too philosophical here, but, truly, what is “real” and what is “true”?
#325 sharpclaws on 08.28.08 at 8:43 pm
Hope you don’t leave. I’m not a Democrat anymore, either. I agree with others’ statements, they left me – I didn’t leave them.
This about more than Hillary Clinton, now. This is about bring back honor and justice to American politics. I won’t stop fighting for democracy.
And, yes, holding my nose all the while, I WILL vote for McCain. Like I said, I asked my Republican friends in 2004 to do the same and vote for Kerry – how can I now refuse to put my actions where my mouth is?
Obama is going down, folks!!!

Hillary is the reason you and me and everyone else are talking here.
The PUMA Prowls and every single other thing here was because we were fighting for her. Thats the reason why about every topic started it mentioned either her 18 Million Voters or when anytime she spoke it would be mentioned here. We WERE fighting for her and until now we are not.
When the prowls went out to the Super D’s it mentioned our support for Hillary.
Now answer this, when Murphy sets up PUMA Prowls again how in the world is she going to get EVERYONE to do them if everyone disagrees with the “strategy” that is put up. Before today we were unified saying we were behind Hillary. But now we are not, shes not in the race. And if this organization can’t fall behind something or someone then almost no one will do PUMA Prowls.
If the PUMA Prowls for example say something like supporting a 3rd party but majority are for McCain or if they consist of things saying voteing democratic down the ticket, but og with the exception of Barack then how in the world will this blog get together.
We have no one to back up anymore as an organization. It used to be Hillary but after today not anymore. And our message will not be heard clearly if we can’t even decide on who to support
Taffy, What happened to the idea of the average Joe and volunteer getting tickets? Did that really work?
The only thing that will satisfy me is….
Obama to get a big spanking by a little guy with short arms!!!!!!
A huge spanking!!!!!
They just showed a bunch of Hollywood stars sitting down in the front rows.
I think we need to focus on the fact that we are trying to defeat Obama and other democratic party leaders, not on who we choose to vote for. No need to officially proclaim a candidate or a party here. Just share information and strategies to defeat the one we decide to try to defeat.
Hey Pumas – I’m flipping back & forth between the Food Network and HGTV – my stomach is still upset from yesterday and I really don’t care to watch any mainsgtream TV tonite………………………………….
Signing off for now – see ya in the morning………..
345 Anna7000~~~ Yes, it’s a bit like separating innuendo, humor, cynicism and opinions from pertinent facts and information directly related to our stated goals and/or mission.
Let’s Get it Started – I think we’re facing a much harder challenge right now. It may take Murphy and all the other grassroots orgs a chance to regroup. I think you hit upon something very crucial, which is that we were primarily focused on Clinton, though that also meant we were dealing with shadey DNC practices as well. Nonetheless, we had something concrete to hang our hat on, so to speak. Now the door is wide open, the issues are many and huge, and the concepts are more abstract. No way around the fact this will be harder to define and structure. Seems fair to give Murphy a bit of breathing room. And, trust me, I’m not a bandwagon kind of a person and I believe Murphy knows that about me. I never profess my “love” for Murphy nor have I done every prowl she sent out. I’ve sent her e-mail with serious issues to take up and so forth. But I feel strongly that she deserves some space to sort out how to structure and prioritize.

What makes you certain about Roe v. Wade not being challenged? I ask because it worries me.
Murphy and all – Thanks
I think a lot was accomplished today and this evening.
the plan of action is beginning to gel.
Battleground states – you know who you are. And if you can find it in yourself to do it, McCain must be voted in your state.
Vote against those in downline who actively
supported Obama from the git go and jumped Hillary ship immediately upon orders from Dean, Pelosi, Obama.
Vote for those who stuck with her til the end or until
they were threatened by DNC and Obama.
Enough for today – thanks all and g’nite,
K.

Apparently volunteers had to turn in paperwork by a certain time. Several didn’t get it in on time and are mad they didn’t get tickets. Others got tickets doing no work at all. So not all happy campers there!
re#350lets..
thats a good evaluation of the situation..
I have been posing a few questions which no one so far has answered or not wanted to..
its a rather simple question:
1.how bad does PUMA want to stop Obama in in November and 2.who else besides mccain can stop him?
Nobama Dem
I called the DNC in Washington and believe it or not, they told me that it would be fixed on Tuesday WHEN EVERYONE COMES BACK FROM DENVER. I posted downstairs that I thought this is the way an Obama White House would work. When something happens in the world, one calls the White House and is told that it will be fixed when he comes back in a week………
Not going! Will just lurk for a while and choose the things I think I want to do. Only thing I will commit to though is voting for McCain in November. I am in NV which is a swing state, so maybe my vote might count for something this time – assuming that they have not rigged the voting machines.
Watch the documentaries on this if you really want to get scared. There was one on the other night. They can be rigged and tampered with. If the polls are close in November, it is trivial to rig the outcome.
I think one prowl we could all get behind is writing to all our Democratic representatives about the sham of a “roll call” at the Convention.
At the moment I’m advocating abolishing the Democratic Primary completely, if it’s going to be nothing but an exercise in futility! Why waste our time and taxpayer money paying for primaries, if they mean NOTHING?
Why should the Democratic automatically get to put its candidate on the ballot if the people have no say in the choice?
Hey, PUMAs. I don’t lgoin here much, but do read everyday and spread the PUMA word as much as I can. I just want to say today that I applaud all of your incredible work on behalf of the REAL party, on behalf of our beloved Hillary, and in the interest of democracy and justice. You are all my heroes. Like Hillary says, we must keep running. Go PUMAs, Go!! nObama in nOvember and Hillary in 2012.
(Of course, I’m still hoping that Obama’s chickens come home to roost before November and he get squashed by a lawsuit or some unseemly information.)

Good information, the second chakra is also where our creativity lies, where we store excess energy and were we draw energy from when we need it. I believe that is what Hillary was trying to tell us by wearing it – Don’t give up, be creative, resource your own inner strengths.
Lets Get It Started -I have great admiration for your opinion and the way you state your points in a non- threatening and very polite way . Thank you for that . Obama will stop himself with continued arrogance and insensitivity. Yes, he will step in it. It’s just a matter of time. The mighty falleth.
#361 pink puma,
I really want to stop Obambi. I know who I am voting for in Nov.
Tho’ some may not be able to vote the way I am going to,
It’s ok. We all have to do what we feel is best.

Don’t leave us. The only solidifying point that we are here for is, No Obama. Please stay with us and help us find our way to clean up the DNC mess. We need everyone. Please stay.
You gotta go vote in this poll

Someone in my political live “stepped in it.” But it took about 12 years for it to happen. Patience is a virtue. In the meantime, we just have to hope that O’s timetable is a little sooner.
I love the plan. Be sure to let us know what we can do along the way to help promote this new initiative. I appreciate very much that Murphy (& whoever had input in planning) have come up with a plan that recognizes the diversity of opinion within the PUMA group. I like that this plan permits us to choose the option that works best for each individual. There is a common goal & I think the message is simple but clear – no vote for Obama or selected others who do not deserve our support based on their actions during the primaries/convention. I have a feeling that many more people will be joining PUMA as the weeks move ahead.
I don’t need to focus my attention on Hillary specifically any more as my issues have always also been very directed at the DNC, Pelosi & Dean. What the Dems want are our votes – and I think that our refusing to give them that vote sends a pretty strong message.
354 BigCatLover~~”Just share information and strategies to defeat the one we decide to try to defeat.”
Exactly. We need to maintain a sense of humor, but maintain focus, focus, focus. In order to achieve our goals it’s imperative to direct all our energies toward that end.
Goodnight, Susie1945. Sweet dreams.
My name says it all; I will be in the booth on November 4 “voting topless”.
I have been around since June supporting Puma activiites but had a devil of a time figuring out how to sign on. I finally got straightened out so here I am at long last; no longer lurking.
OK, I missed ‘Let’s Get It Started’s post. Number please?
#341 GBPuma on 08.28.08 at 8:55 pm
Yes, I agree. I think you’ve got the right idea on what we need to do.
Havent posted in a while but I have been kept updated
Was wondering if we are going to be able to purchase any leftover items in Denver? In one of the pictures it looks like an orange shirt possibly w/ a PUMA logo??
Orange is my favorite color as well. I was drooling over Hillary’s orange pant suit; that rocked in my book!!
Hey you guys we’re Pumas. They knock us down – we get up, regroup, and come back stronger. Now why’d they want to go and mess with us?
We need lawyers – Plan B, and we don’t quit until we win
#361
Exactly!
I want to know a clear plan or “goals” for this. Is this blog just for venting and spreading rumors or Stoping OBama from being president or just focusing on democratic ideals?
I don’t see how I can continue being part of an organization that doesn’t have claer goals for what they are to do.
If you want to defeat Obama then vote McCain. Voteing 3rd aprty will never work. Neither will writing Hillary’s name in. Ofcoarse it is up to the individual.
But an Organization needs to decide. Clintons4McCain, well you know what they think about it. The Write-Hillary-In website you know what they are doing.
But I don’t know what PUMA Pac stands for anymore. The clear choice if this is only focused on deafeting Obama then PUMA should focus on voting McCain. If you just want to care about democratic ideals then do something else.
Until something is decided I won’t visit the site anymore. I’ll go to a site with a clear choice on what they are doing. (for example Clintons4McCain, WriteHillaryIN) This blog needs a clear message and it doesn’t have one.
If I were a candidate running for president and was asked my view on this pro choice vs. pro life issue and the right of a woman to control her body I’d advocate that the emphasis of control be placed on the part of the woman’s body where the mind is located.
Forced against her will then fetus should be brought to term and given up to adaption if child is not wanted by the woman.
Name that Blame:

I think the democrats have selected a “Sybil” — he is such a wannabe — Lincoln, Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Reagan, American Idol…this guy doesn’t even know who he is and we are supposed to trust and vote for him?
What a vulgar display of money wasted at the Invesco Field. The very people that Obama and the DNC profess to want to help are still struggling with the high price of groceries, gas, utilities, are worried about their mortgages — and how much money was spent to create this ostentatious display? How much of our tax dollars was spent on secret service? And they are still asking for donations…to fund this?
I’m ticked.
Nobody has posted anything about the MSNBC meltdown
read this article in politico.com, Bill O’Reilly was talking about it tonight
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12900.html
381 Lets Get It Started ~~~ Thank you. I pretty much agree with you. We spend alot, ALOT of time here. It would be so nice to believe it counts for something.
Great story aboutr Mass., my son will be attending college there so I should be there often. This just makes it sweeter.
Estimate for Invesco was 5-5 1/2 million bucks.
They’re talking on the radio blog chat that leaving the Presidential spot blank on your ballot is an open invitation to vote tampering, expecially in swing states like Ohio.
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/NO-WE-WONT
Thanks everyone – not leaving. But since I am not a Dem it is not high on my list to fix the DNC. That’s all I am saying. That’s why I will lurk and pick/choose things I think I want to do.
It was obvious to me as a Hillary supporter how to contribute until the travesty of a roll call vote.
You guys are great.
Murphy…the cherry on top will be twofold — Obama loses the election and Hillary can say “I told you so!”
We all feel like we have a few pieces of baggage that got lost on the last flight. The important thing is that we got to the destination even if the baggage didn’t. So we regroup and go on, baggage or no baggage. Giving up and leaving doesn’t help the reason for the going to the destination. So, chin up and move on. We don’t really want to be told to “get over it.” Not in my lifetime.
I’m signing off. It’s been a good day for the most part. Wish there wasn’t so much discord about the voting issue. Seems like a person’s vote is a very personal thing. Murphy can’t tell any of us to do any more than anyone can. She’s laying out new strategies for this next phase. I say, give her some freaking space to do it. She’s been going non-stop for months, just go back frm Denver which must have been beyond exhausting, and it’s not even the offical end of the convention.
Good night all.
Hope your cold starts to improve, Living Grace.

#279…. I WROTE ON THE ARTICLE..
“When one wins a nomination by fraud, then it is an empty nomination. Just like the empty suit he is… he cannot mobilize the 18 million disinfranchised voters that were ignored at the convention. The Clinton’s do not own my vote nor yours. They did all they could to unite this party… now it is Obama’s turn.
Change we can believe in.. He has divided our precious America more than I can ever remember it. Life is tough here, but the division now has widened and his thugs of supporters are just following HIS “lead”. He lost my respect when he gave Hillary Clinton the finger during a speech following the PA debates in which he failed so greatly.
He has blamed everyone but himself for the divide in the party. He needs to look inward to see his own failings.
As a result I will not be considering myself a democrat (note small “d”) for this election.
Thank you for allowing me to use my freedom of speech and express my views.”
Comment by BMW60 August 29, 2008 @ 1:19 am
In all fairness, though, I think Murphy, Mama, Maryland, & Co need and deserve a bit of time to rest , regain their strength, and redirect their energies. We owe them that.
Murphy
Another “playground”? Yeah for New Jersey.
Missy: The tax money spent for the conventions is split equally between both parties. Costs above that are paid with contributions so it’s a waste of money on both sides.
BigCatLover – Someone up thread made that very point, which was sobering. Made me realize no way should I be a conscientious objector. If nothing else, better vote 3rd party or write in or something. Got time to decide, but glad that poster noted it. (Sorry, I forgot who it was.) Likely Murphy will re-think her strategy and incorporate this bit of info. Wouldn’t want any no votes/blank spaces to be filled in by someone else.

Here are the latest poll results, looks like we’re not alone in this, Siblings:
Will you tune in for Obama’s speech?
No 56%
Yes 44%
Total Votes: 2,258
How has the convention affected your vote?
I’m less likely to vote for Obama 43%
It hasn’t affected me 32%
I’m more likely to vote for Obama 25%
Total Votes: 2,167
Oh, yeah, he’s going down!
Go to cnn.com Quick poll on right asks if you’re going to watch speech. right now 52-48 no
I agree with #86. I have to vote out everyone that took my vote away. I have to wait until 2012 to vote out Clair McCaskil, but I can vote against Lacy Clay and Jay Nixion etc. We can not take back our party or country and our votes unless we throw out those in power now. If we don’t they will do the same thing to Hillary in 2012!!

rest up and regroup – you, too, have been running hard.
I don’t mean to insult anyone, but these posts today sound like a bunch of followers, not activists. Insisting that the way forward be spelled out in detail or you’ll leave strikes me as lemming like. The site is No Obama. How you decide to accomplish that for yourself is a personal decision. Why is that so controversial?
I honestly think that the Democratic Party owes me money for Mental Abuse, my emotions are like a roller coaster and for written proof all they have to do is look at my comments on this site. I just about hit every single emotion, every single night.
#289 Rodham in Flag
There are many factors involved in the accumilation of the most delegates.
One is the fact that a person can win the most by concentrating on 3-4 major metro centers because of the population concentrations there.Fact there is a national Black population of 12.5% of the whole population, and 85-90% of that as well as all under 30 age group are centered in these areas, and that on a national level the Black vote is not critical it can take a candidate over the top. But in the Democratic Party it is very important that 30-35% of the Democratic Party is Black and then add the 10-12% of the under 30 makes these City Centers very important.I know it doesn’t seem fair and makes us country/rural folks really feel pushed aside and not important. But unfortunately you have to hit the high population areas to get the high popular vote counts for that congressional district.
The campaign demographics are very complex and we use many computer programs to determine where to send a candidate and who to speak with . But this is the simplest prospective I can give you.
I don’t know if you understand what I’m saying but you can always contact me to discuss much more and in much greater detail.

Is Biden getting a redo on his speech?
BigCatLover – Right on! Lord I wish you or someone had said that sooner. Get’s right to the heart of things as far as I’m concerned.
Meanwhile, who’s Janet and why is her word taken as fact?
Fox just interviewed an Obama Supporter. This guy had GLAZED eyes and spouted rhetoric. Scairy cult stuff. Bad news!
Biden is spouting from the Temple , now.
The BO Show is on. Biden just called him Baracknin.
#330 LetsGetIt Started…..thanks for your concerns. I agree with some of what you said…but I also think to some degree it STILL is about Hillary. Maybe not about getting her nominated for ‘08 but looking forward to 2012.
It’s also about protesting how she was treated during the primary, how the ONC strong armed the delegates and stole them right out from under her nose, how the media bias needs to be dealt with so it never happens again in an election and so on.
We need to stay together in a focused way to deal with voter supression and intimidation and caucus fraud. We must never allow misogyny and sexism to rule the day. If the party didn’t/doesn’t speak up…then WE MUST!!
WE HAVE LOTS TO DO other than just pull the lever in a protest vote in November…or abstain from voting the Dem’s presidential ticket. That’s how I see it.
It may take a while to regroup but we need to stay UNITED!!!!
I think there must be something wrong with me, because I do not feel anything for the Democratic party anymore. I will have no problem voting for Republicans. Maybe it is all the FOX news, or stress and exhaustion.

do we have a “janet” here, or ?
I was listening to NPR today and this Obamite stated she couldn’t wait until Obama explained his plans tonight. She added she of course being a supporter knew his plans, but he had to explain it to the people
She must be the only lifeform on the planet who has the honor of knowing what this guy is up to
Hey Brooklyn, how do we find out who sold us out in NY
Anna7000 #402 — Janet is a Puma from New Jersey. I met her at the DC Conference. She doesnt blog much — MP still needs to give her a tutorial
Janet’s a good guy, no worries.
And we all know that Riv is a good guy — the best in fact.
I agree as well. Vote as we may, without retribution or controversy…as long as it’s not for HIM
Nothing on Top
NO WAY
NO HOW
NO BAMA
Unless alot of people are being less than truthful, the networks tonight should record a noticeable discrepancy in the numbers between viewers of BC speech, HC’s speech and NOBO’s speech.
to say that PUMA Pac has no goals is not accurate in my opinion …I think the goal is pretty clear…we are NOT voting for Obama PERIOD. However you choose to express that by voting otherwise or not at all. I am not sure the issue is so much that we despise Obama its that we have been robbed and violated in the PROCESS of him being selected and not truly elected by the people. My issue is with the DNC …although I have my reasons as well that I do not approve of Obama and his policies too. I find myself leaning towards not voting at all for the top ….as Hillary and Bill said we do not need another four years of the same; agreed …although, I cannot and will not vote for Barack Obama …no way.. no how.. no Obama… no DNC telling me how my vote will be counted because they wont be counting mine at all !!!
Murphy…any goodies leftover we can purchase? would love to buy my baby an orange shirt!!!
You know, as a student of history, that this entire thing and especially this “rally” at the stadium is so very reminiscent of Hitler in Munich in 1929 and 1933….That is what is the most frightening to me…this lemming mass hypnotic syndrome. When this all started it sent chills up my spine and it does even more every day.
I’m trying to remember the Senator who is sponsoring the bill for one voice, one vote and rotating primaries by areas of the country. Maybe this is something we need to check into.
Also as a candidate for the presidency I’d advocate we drill for oil. Why? BECAUSE IT’S THERE!
Murphy, I just read Joan Venocchi’s piece on the MA delegates. After all this time, it really seemed like she just didn’t get it.

Yes it has been compared to Cuba and Castro too. It’s not good – we know that
Matthews saying BO was not given this nomination, he won it! He was chosen, not a showcase! Is he for real.
He says this isn’t funny…does he think that we are laughing? I really think that MSNBC has lost it. They have shot the kool-aid into their veins.

#57 Murphy Sorry, but I can’t do as you ask. I don’t want to be part of either party anymore. The Democratic Party is so corrupt that it has to be taken down..
I was sure that this Democratic Congress would do great things; they did nothing. They were as bad as the Republican Congress.
The only way to ensure that our Country is not placed into the hands of a man we know so little about (except his long association with the terrorist Bill Ayers, his 20 year friendship with the Rev. Wright, a man who hates “white America” and how convicted felon Rezko helped him buy his million dollar mansion) is to vote for McCain.
All I need to do is look at the two men. One is a patriot, a man who risked his life for his Country and loves his Country, and a man who has a shady past, a wife who does not love America, and who used his position as a U.S. senator to save the corrupt Cook County Political
Machine when reformers of both parties tried to challenge the entrenched political bosses.
It is a simple answer for me. I want bo to lose by the largest vote count there could be.
I am simply not a proud Democrat. I feel deceived and
disrespected by this party. That feeling is not going to change in the next week, month or year.
BCL – you tell those little kittens they have a ROCKIN GRANNIE !

What Hillary Clinton’s women want
BY GERALDINE FERRARO
[ Says there are 3 groups of Hillary supporters; needs a little correction on PUMAS ]
……..
The first are the PUMAs – which, as everyone now knows, stands for
“Party Unity My A–.” For them – and over the last two weeks I have
received hundreds of letters from women who consider themselves PUMAs
- nothing Hillary could say or do would move them. They are livid at
the sexist way that Hillary was treated by the media, and even angrier
at the Obama people, the Democratic National Committee and Howard Dean
as chairman, for not speaking up against it.
They believe that sexism is larger than this presidential race, that
it seeps into the fiber of our country and must be stopped. They are
convinced that if the media had been racist against Obama, Howard Dean
would have been shouting from the hilltops – and so would have
Hillary. They feel the party accepted a double standard, and many have
indicated that they will either vote for McCain, write in Hillary’s
name or just not vote for President.
#426 TAFFY
Sen. Diane Feinstein ans Russ Feingold have both proposed such legislature and several others…..and these mostly have never even been allowed out of community to get to the floor for a vote…..Diane also has a plan for the restructuring of the Electoral College System.

Now THAT’S funny! Almost flew over my head but I caught it in time.
BlueBlueGal – Sorry. I was referring to a post that someone named Janet was on blogtalkradio saying that NJ was a battleground state now. I wanted to know who she was, how we know who she is, and how she came to have this info. I’m very leary of something being taken as fact because someone we don’t even know said it. It’s hard, cause on a call in show or on a blog, discerning someone’s credentials is very hard. This is the world we now live in. But, from where I sit, you gotta try, otherwise you risk basing some thought process or action on what amounts to a hill of beans.
Tony Rezko?
Tony Rezko was co-chair on a committee that raised hundreds of millions of dollars for Bush, McCain, and the republicans.
Tony Rezko was so successful that George W. Bush invited Rezko to the White House Holiday Party in 2003.
There are pictures of Rezko and Bush from that party.
catsrlove’
I feel that same way. It is like there is nothing in my heart any longer for the Democratic party. I think that they should all suffer for their complicity. Then they can thank B O when they have to find real work, as most of them have never carried a real job. I have to let go of this anger, it is so not healthy.
These Obama Supporters are getting more air time on Fox and America is now getting to see what we have been experiencing on the blogs. Rhetoric and hype. if you challenge them they become very agitated and frustrated. Some raise their voice or start talking real fast. They cannot sustain any real arguement.

Health care?
If we can pay taxes for war we can pay taxes for heath care.
Everybody wants to live pain-free lives. And most are very fortunate to have nice health and wouldn’t want to be sick for anything. That is why universal health care would be very affordable to the taxpayers of this nation. It wouldn’t cost an individual that much. Everybody having access to top care in a timely manner is a good idea and very doable.
Yes to a national health care system.
Pumas was watching a move a while ago and at the end was this statement:

Maybe I’m just sickened by the BO lovefest convention and Hillary’s “playing” the game, she’s lost a few feathers…I just lost faith in the Dem. Party and I’m not sure about 2012.
I need time to heal & collect my thoughts for 2012.
But ‘08 is DEFINITELY for McCain, because a McCain vote is a BO vote taken away.
Besides, it’s more than that, it’s protesting the MSM, Keith Olbermann, mysogyny etc…

Not fair to ask you to reitterate any of what was said, including how Janet comes to have this perspective on NJ. I said in my local paper that I would vote present in honor of Barack Obama. That I would not be voting for him and I would be voting for Democrats down ballot. If you live in a state where there is a senatorial election and every congressional district in the country will be having congressional elections, we must have Democrats to carry our message and our values.

Durbin is on now repeating the mantra ” yes we can”.

Guys, something just occurred to me.
If Obama sees he’s going to be defeated worse than McGovern, maybe he will resign and turn the nomination over to some real Democrat. Then we could have a Dem president this year after all.
So all we have to do is make sure Obama sees a really big defeat coming up….

#410 TX Democrat
Missy: The tax money spent for the conventions is split equally between both parties. Costs above that are paid with contributions so it’s a waste of money on both sides.
**************
I agree that both parties are wasting money, but the extra security needed for Obama’s international jaunt and the “unexpected change of plans to use Invesco” prompted the Secret Service to request an additional $9.5 million. That’s a lot of gas, groceries and mortgage payments, IMHO.
My point was that the DNC wants to address the needs of those that are down and out — how can they waste this money, especially when the Invesco Field was over the top unnecessary…and then repeatedly ask their supporters to send more money? At least McCain is politicking in diners and whistlestops. I give him credit for that.
He’s trying to be a john kennedy reproduction.
He is such a liar.
Here he is . . . in his Greek Temple. Not wearing a toga though. Now they’re telling us that there are viewing parties all across the nation.
#206 NewOrleans…Murphy said to leave the democrat selection for president blank and either vote for McCain or if you simply can’t do that, then vote your conscience.
I bought a few bracelets today made by No Boundaries, and just noticed the big logo on it is “NOBO”
Just took them out of bag when his speech started, I think it’s a sign….
My concerns regarding a N.O.T. voting strategy are that there will be millions of Americans who do NOT get informed enough to know who all the different people are that are running under their local Democratic elections. Many of those are in BO’s pockets already. My state has a local state senator who is licking his lips for a governorship that will be supported by BO, who has become a friend of his.
It would take tremendous effort across all the states and regions to get the detailed info on all those dems running for election and get that message out clearly. (I know, some are saying…well, PUMAs can take that on.)
And there are always those who just get confused, depending on the look of the ballot. My state’s ballot is often intimidating.
The rejection of BO has to be profound. He’s the captain of this ship, but the ship has to go down too. Collateral damage–too bad–better luck next time.
I think any kind of compromise, while satisfying some, is a huge risk. How do we know that a N.O.T. strategy won’t backfire in some of these electronic machines and cast the vote for BO anyway????
BO is planning an all out blitz on voter registration. We need strong numbers to counter that.
I don’t know if I can vote for McCain myself but I really want to vote for somebody. Maybe I should vote for Bob Bar or Ron Paul. I’m not sure who would be better though to hurt Obama and not hurt McCains chances.
If you can’t vote for McCain, how about Ralph Nader?
Lin4Hill,
I agree that the safest thing is to vote McCain on top. However voting selectively down ticket has many advantages, and state PUMAs and others can give us that information when the time comes. Or, each downticket Dem herself can tell us where she stands!
Really, we DON’T have to angst about this now! See what the polls in your own state say in November.
PUMA hugs to all!
(I think we should make the polls so strong for McCain that Obama will flee in panic and resign the nomination to a REAL Democrat.)
#433
And the Packers?
Let’s not forget that superdelegates (who are Democratic politicians) accepted bribe money from Obama in exchange for their votes.
Obama and the DNC decided to “punish” voters here in Florida and in Michigan. Well now it’s time for voters to “punish” the corrupt politicians!
Let’s clean house!
McCain ‘08!
I think there are lots of mix ill feelings right now to even discuss the other options. Get some rest folks there are plenty of time to think about this. We still have a GOP convention to keep an eye next week. I’m pretty certain things will come in perspective in time.
Hollywood Florida here , I would vote for McCain and so its my family we have 2 households and 7 Votes all for McCain and yes we are Hillary Supporters
{Ms. White: I am responding on behalf of Attorney General McKenna to your message, which is copied below.
As you acknowledge in your message, the State of Washington plays no role within the internal processes of each political party. I understand from your message that you are not satisfied with the procedures used within one of those parties to select their presidential nominee. Those procedures, however, are not related to any Washington laws regarding access to the ballot in this state.
In Washington, any candidate can file for office simply by filing a declaration of candidacy and paying a filing fee (or submitting petitions in lieu of the filing fee). While candidates may, if they choose, express their own personal preference for a political party, political parties as such do not have any special access to the ballot. The Presidential primary works a little differently than other offices, but at root in this state it is candidates, and not parties, that qualify to appear on the ballot.
I trust that this information will be helpful.

Personally, I have ‘no’ problem voting for a REPUBLICAN (though I thought I’d never say that). It all comes down to the ELECTORAL votes people. IF you absolutely are against obama then I STRONGLY urge you to vote for McCain. I can’t stress that enough. ELECTORAL VOTES is what they actually COUNT. Check this out. http://hillraiser08.blogspot.com/2008/08/electoral-map.html
you can see for yourself how it ‘really’ works. Just step back and take a few minutes to really THINK about it.
I will vote straight Republican. I don’t care who they are. One of my favorite Democrats is running for office but he won’t get my vote. Sorry, it’s the only way to put a complete stop to corruption in the Democratic party. In my humble opinion, it’s the only way to get the old party back. To me, like the apple that destroyed the bushel, all need to go. My thanks to all the good PUMA people that tried so hard to even the playing field. Hard love is all that is left to fight with and that is to vote against all Democrats. The rotten corrupt people that ran this show will do it again and again if they see it works.

A vote FOR McCain versus FOR Obama means a greater percentage in battleground states which is where the ability to win lies, now.

I can’t keep up with everything. The hate in our society is overwhelming. We have a many black community leaders, mayors, city managers, councilmen, fire chiefs, etc. I don’t know why race is even considered an issue anymore. We have bad white dudes as well as black dudes, we have great black and white church leaders and good citizens. I am white and have voted against many white candidates because they weren’t honest, weren’t smart enough on the issues etc. so why is it when I want to vote against a black candidate because he is not honest and inexperienced, I am called a racist???? I don’t get it. I also don’t get it why those inthe black community feel they HAVE to vote for Obama even though he is becoming an embarrassment to the world with his plagerized comments in many of his speeches some even from movies for crying out loud. Why are people glossing over his problem areas and worst of all his fraudulent campaign (*DNC) included? WHY???? I don’t understand the thinking process of people who look the other way rather than confront it. Go PUMA.

I got back a few nasty bo supporter emails BUT by far one of the most mean-spirited and nasty came from Donna Brazile. Because I did not and could not support bo, she repeatedly called me a racist and a sexist. Her rationale for this was, apparently, that I wasn;t as ga-ga over him as she is. Basically, she loves that race card. If you don;t want bo to perform your open heart surgery, you must be a racist. Won’t let him manage your retirement fund or do the electric in your home? You are a racist.
That women has some tiny mnd and LOTS of issues.
