WELCOME NEW MEMBERS! JOIN PUMA PAC HERE!
Back to the blog — boy is it good to be back. The Rise was beautiful and inspiring. Riverdaughter, always brilliant on her feet had us all cheering, Betty from Pittsburgh PA told us a story about Hillary and why she drove straight to Denver in her red pickup truck decorated all over with HILLARY signs. Igor, Ladyboomer, Edwin, and Shtu brought us all to tears — and the candles were flickering in the wind.
I shamelessly STOLE the above picture from the ravishing Riverdaughter’s place. When Saharra introduced Riverdaughter she said, “You know she’s trouble — look at that red hair!” and Riv took the mic and said, “My red is hair is mine because I paid for it!” (have I mentioned that I love Riverdaughter?) That’s Puma PAC in front of the MSNBC tent at Union Station today. We STOLE the show!!
Denver is so damn QUIET. There are more police officers than reporters and there are no Obama supporters in sight (well, maybe a few — but honestly, we walk down the streets with our signs and t-shirts and people cheer! They ask us for Hillary stickers!)
So how was Michelle’s speech?

Welcome back, PUMAs. We’re proud of you!!!
I didn’t watch most of Michelles speech.
Glad ya’ll are paying tribute to Hillary tonight.
So nice to hear from Pumas from Denver!
Has Carly Fiorino or any of the Repub’s been in contact with ya’ll?
Basically she said she was in Denver to meet with Hillary’s disenfranchised supporters.
Michele’s speech was decently read, but Sounded like a cross between a bedtime fairytale and a preacher trying to use emotion to stir up a reaction. Something happened to the he video feed I was watching and I was spared the last few minutes.

I lit my candle at a quarter of the hour. Then I read the poem “Arise” [951] that today’s rally was named for. Then I sang “I Am PUMA” and “May the Circle Be Unbroken.” If you haven’t seen “Iron-Jawed Angels”, it is a treat. Helps us see how we follow in footsteps of Suffragists.
Hi murphy–just wanted to let you know those PUMAs who are still in their lairs lit candles at home in tribute to the RISE.
MO’s speech was sacchine sweet…
http://blogs.reuters.com/from-reuterscom/2008/08/26/in
It was scripted and boring me me me Barack, Barack, Barack.

It is after midnight in the East, and it is Aug. 26th. 88 years ago today, women were allowed to vote in the U.S. It took several generations of women and years of work to make it happen. They had to stop “being nice” and start confronting the Democrats for supporting them. If you have a chance to see “Iron Jawed Angels” today … you will cry … and be joyful at what women and men before us achieved. and now we carry on for the next generations …
oops== sb saxcharin sweet…artificial and overdone,

My candle is lit and in my window. I am teary-eyed feeling the unbroken circle with all of you bloggers, all our PUMAs in Denver, all of our yet-to-be identified PUMAs out there. and I feel I’m holding hands with those women 88 years ago who suffered beatings in jail to get the right to vote. They got that for us 88 years ago. Now it’s our turn to make sure that our votes count. and get counted.
Nothing new same ole same ole community organizer stuff would probably make a good student president, student council etc block club organizer.
too late–one last time–saccharin.
i didn’t have the stomach to watch
but others have been posting how the crowd didn’t get excited until she mentioned Hillary!!!!

just wanted to repost some links from downstairs on MO trash-talking and undermining Hillary

geeze, it’s unbelivable to me that at least 3 speakers got up and touted Obama not going to make money but instead to be a community organizer. You’d think they could have talked about some specific thing that he did as a community organizer if he was so great.
Happy Anniversary Suffragettes.
SAME OLE SOUTH SIDE CHI THING !!!!!!!
IF I HEAR THAT ONE MORE TIME OMG !!!!!!!
SCRIPTED FAKE AS WE KNEW IT WOULD BE !!!!
GET OUT THE SHOVELS FOR ALL THE @%IT
I thought MO was over reaching in her attempt to stir emotion. It did nothing for me.
Hi – I watched MO speech and was not too impressed. It seemed that when she smiled, it was a command on the telepromter!!! The Obama kids were cute, but they were obviously used to add to the “family atmosphere”. I really can’t remember a convention where members of the family were given a microphone to say anything after a speech!!! Then “Daddy” had to be reminded which city he was in by his daughter. No one from Ted Kennedy’s family said anything after his speech. They were just there!!!
As a very avid Hillary supporter, I am becoming increasingly disillusioned with her stance especially after viewing the tape of her speaking to the New York delegates. During the campaign, she said a lot of things and made a lot of promises. I really think that she is putting her career before her constituents and all of us who supported her. If she truly is the fighter that we thought she was, she would not cave into this party. It really breaks my heart.
MO did NOTHING FOR ME either. She came across as so over-rehearsed that she couldn’t personally connect with anything she was saying. They reherased her to be this soft lady but that is not who she is so she couldn’t connect to anything or anyone. It was unmoving, fake, and arrogant
NO FLIPPING WAY!

Thank YOU Elaine!!
Will you repost the link to your site so I can put it on the blogroll?

I saw a snippet of this rally on the news, and that voice does not sound like BO. I think the youtube video is doctored.
Murphy, MarylandPuma, BillieJo & Other Pumas
Great job representing Puma Pac. Keep up the good work!

Someone dubbed that- I saw it when it happened, he didn’t really do that.
What are the media saying about Michelle’s speech?
What are the news saying? I know we’ve spoken with tons of media out here but I have NO IDEA what they’re saying, if anything, about us?
Taffy, that video is a forgery.
Just in from the lighting held in Union Square here. It was really quite nice, with maybe a dozen PUMA’s there. Funny, Helene brought dozens of tea lights and spelt out Hillary’s name…we kept battling the wind to get them all lit!
It’s good to hear of news from you all in Denver. I look forward to pictures!
#28 murphy ,
I watched Kera. They praised Michele and didn’t mention anything about Pumas. They said that the Clinton supporters would be united with the party by the end of the convention. They also said that on Wednesday that Hillary would have a role call vote but after a few states she would stop the vote and give all her delegates to Obama.

I unfortunately am wondering the same thing about Hillary. She DID make promises to us. I still support her.
But if she does not fight for the nomination, then I have to wonder – just what on earth is going on. This is no typical election. This is what makes it so very easy for me to switch to McCain should that time come – and with NO reservations. I believe we are fighting for our country this time – there is no doubt of that in my mind.
Nice try Michelle Obama – the thing is though, our memory is still intact.
I’m not buying.
CCONNELL – yay! you got it Girl! LOL
ELAINE said “I feel I’m holding hands with those women 88 years ago who suffered beatings in jail to get the right to vote. They got that for us 88 years ago. Now it’s our turn to make sure that our votes count. and get counted…”
That is exactly why I’m here, and why I’ll be marching for Hillary in Denver tomorrow. I’m an independent conservative, and I’ll be voting McCain. But I have more admiration for Hillary than I can express, and more absolute disgust and fury than I can express for what they did to her in May, and since. It truly is about the validity of the political process, and about the rights of women to equal respect in politics.
I hope it’s okay with everybody I’m here. . . but if you all end up coming over to the dark side, we’ll welcome you with open arms. LOL Frankly, I hope that doesn’t happen, I’m holding out for a miracle for Hillary. (I’m wondering if Philip Berg might hand it to us…)
does anyone have a video they can put on youtube showing the PUMA protest at the NBC place. Please tell me you guys had recorded it please!!! if you did, put it on youtube.
Murphy…they know that we are the ones they were not expecting. Some idiot said Hillary has to somehow defang the Pumas! LOL
They’re all aware that no matter who does what, we’ll never support Obama. Of course, nasty Brazille continues to say how everyone’s going to be united coming out of Denver. :::rolling eyes:::
Fox reporters said MO’s speech was empty and the entire first night was a missed opportunity to reassure the voters.

my own little opinion?
if she could scratch our eyes out she would!

“I really think that she is putting her career before her constituents and all of us who supported her. If she truly is the fighter that we thought she was, she would not cave into this party. It really breaks my heart.”
~~~~~~
I agree. The sad thing is she is doing this to keep her standing in the party; but if they treat her this way now, just what does she think they will do in the future? I don’t even think the DNC will be a credible or viable party after this fiasco. Why should she worry about how they will treat her for standing up for her supporters?
I will also support McCain. For the first time in the 50 years that I have been voting, I will not be voting for a democrat.
Interesting article about Biden denying that existence of a war on terror.
It’s 2:02am here. Sheri and MP’s are cuddled up on the air mattress on the floor and Mama is trying to sleep in the bed (I’ll be joining her soon) . No one can sleep! MP and Sheri are gossiping and reliving the events of the day — this very LONG day. It is like summer camp here!
Some may say we are living high in the hog — but we are squished like happy little campers here in our Puma den.
Is his name James Carvell? Did I spell it right? If so… he was quoted as saying that if the Democrats had a message for the first convention night of speeches… then it was very well hidden.
murphy,
I was so angry after watching the convention. It was such a phoney display and full of lies. The only good thing was that the biggest applause was when Michele mentioned Hillary. Other than that it was depressing. I finished my wine so am going to bed. Keep up the good job in Denver. I hope that you can get something good out of all of your efforts there.
Murphy,
Many pundits says it was a waste of a night, disappointing overall.
Several bloggers was wondering about the mock roll call. Could you update with pictures of today’s events. Without you and Maryland, some run around like headless chooks. Needs updating blog for people who are not in Denver, thanks
Welcome MacAllen. If you are NOBO then you belong here. I am neither Dem nor Rep and I will be voting for McCain if BO is nominated.
I have no use for Obama. I think that his campaign totally played the race card (a disservice to all of America). I believe the Democratic Party mucky mucks conspired to make sure that Hillary could not win. I think the media is just now starting to slowly pull their heads out of Obama’s but……
Problem is I was marginally involved in Texas politics in the Ann Richards days and none of this surprises me. I think the fix is in.
I am most interested and how the PUMA’s will use their PAC power between now and the election.
I can never vote Obama. Actually it is because his record and experience and church are all indicators of the kind of president he would be. I don’t think he’s a bad guy….more of a media invention.
My Mom and most of my friends are voting McCain… Guess I’m just rambling.
It is great to see ya’ll in Denver. I think it does make a difference.
If Dems nominate BO, then the evidence that they like losing elections is no longer in doubt.
mzebest–it is carville. his take is much more realistic and animated than donna borgzille–we are the democrats–disunity is futile..prepare to be obamatized (apologies to all you star trek fans)…
Hi Sharpclaws, thanks! I am DEFINITELY NOBO! ha! No one is MORE NOBO than I am. Believe me. LOL That man scares the crap out of me. And conversely if our president ended up being Hillary, I’d feel quite safe with it.
GOOD NIGHT ALL
MURPY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!!
MURPHY ON GRETA WIRE BEFORE POLOSIE CAME ON SHE KEPT TALKING ABOUT ALL THE EMAIL SHE WAS GETTING FROM HILLARY SUPPORTERS,AND SHE KKEPT SAYING THEY DONT SOUND LIKE THERE READY TO FALL IN LINE. SHE ALSO SAID SHE HAD NEVER GOTTEN THAT MUCH MAIL BEFORE. AND ON EVERY NEWS CHANNEL THEY WERE READING THE PUMA MAIL.
FOX NEWS WAS REPORTING OUT OF A BAR.. THE REPORT FROM CONVENTION WAS BORING.
WHEN POLOSIE SPOKE NO ONE EVEN LISTENED TO HER,AND THEY PANNED THE AUDIENCE AND HAD TO TAKE CAMERAS OFF BECAUSE EVERY ONE WAS WALKING AROUND AND TALKING. WE SAW THE PUMAS BEHIND THE NEWS PEOPLE ON CHRISS MATTHEWS.
MURPHY . .MO’S SPEECH SEEMED VERY REHEARSED AND TRITE. I felt really uncomfortable watching BO’s daughters with microphones. Maybe my own bias . it just felt manipulative!
Will has convention floor access . .do any Pumas? What did he have to do to get it?
Hillary wants to make a difference in policy. She has to work with all these people at the convention to assure she will have a voice in the future.
She must do everything she can to support the nominee. She may hate it.
SHE WARNED THE PARTY THAT OBAMA MAY WELL BE UNELECTABLE….if it turns out she was right then McCain wins. Then she has a shot at 2012.
She has no choice. Hillary is Senator of NY…can’t stage a floor fight at the convention. She wants to keep the job she has so she can make a difference. Takes courage!
I believe she would be a big voice in a McCain administration….and shut out of an Obama administration.
I don’t believe Obama is evil although many of his supporters are thugs (note the TX fraud)..
I have read a few accounts over the internet of different posters..they all quote people as saying” they (meaning us) will get over it”..I will never vote for *61
I hope some Pumas who are in Denver have been posting today!
Can any of you get access to the convention, or are you feeling more effective OUTSIDE! 100,000 new hits today! WOW! ( Did I read that right? )
Murphy,
Some has to go to Riverdaughter for picture updates.
There has been a few posts but at times nobody knows what’s happening with the role call, or how you are travelling to the Unity protests and such. Several bloggers has to speculate as to what is going on, and some starts going off in different directions. Could you have someone regularly updates on blogs, thanks
I’m glad I missed Brazille’s assessment… don’t think I could handle it. I had a hard time hearing all those speeches in which Obama’s name was repeated over and over again.
The other question that reporters keep asking (that bothers me) is “What does Obama need to do to win over the Hillary supporters?” I’m Jewish… so hopefully it’s ok for me to say this… but I want to answer, “Would you ask the Jews in Germany — what can Hitler do to win you over?” The man is corrupt… there’s nothing he can do except step aside and let the real leader lead.
I can see the point you make. And normally I would agree with you and let it go. But her support for BO is at odds with what is good for the country. I wouldn’t feel the way I do (that Hillary should fight) if the primary process at least had the illusion of being fair or if her opponent had any character.
BO will destroy this country. He is wrong in every way imaginable. And this is why I want to see her take a stand. She cannot possibly believe that he is the right person for the job! As I said earlier, no one knows anything about what he stands for because he stands for absolutely everything. That’s not a candidate that represents the Dem Party.
well, I have had a long day and I am going to bed.Hope tomorrow will bring us better news.Keep the faith!
My time watching the MSM is limited . . I feel frustrated to see a lot of focus on the many divergent protesting groups, looking very hostile and scary! Perhaps I’m not timing it right!
does any one think they did this to keep repubs in white house or to keep the clintons out? personally i have never seen such a mockery as was displayed to night.
Hey guys..just came across this site. Says will update, shares all news pieces about PUMA’s in Denver.
Enjoy. Also, add it to new lists.
http://heroesforhillary.wordpress.com/2008/08/25/pumas-in-the-news/
:rolls: : rolls :
Murphy….you will get more publicity if you can somehow meet with Carly and the Repubs or if ya’ll can connect up with Greta on FOX. I am going to her site and tell her she should be covering PUMA’s
I am wondering if the RNC will bring anything up about Bo’S birth certificate or the suit that was filed in Philadelphia? In addition, I bet they use Larry Sinclair in some type of video. They probably are teething at the bit to start some of their attacks on BO.
ah ha! thanks mad logic!
I wouldn’t want to be in Hillary’s shoes right now. She has two choices: either she caves in to the DNC and gives Obama the nomination or she stands up for her supporters and fights for it. Either way, her career will probably be destroyed. If she goes with the DNC she risks alienating her supporters. If she fights and doesn’t win the DNC will destroy her. I have very mixed feelings about it. I don’t know if I will be able to support her in 2012 if she doesn’t take a stand for all of us now. Also, there’s the possibility that when Obama loses in Nov., she will be blamed and the DNC will destroy her career anyway. Like I said, I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes.
ok so how does one roll their eyes?
WE’RE ALL PROUD OF PUMAS IN DENVER. LOTS OF PRESS COVERAGE TODAY.
A very good Democratic friend feels that the Republican party”bankrolled” Obama during the primaries because they were afraid of Hillary winning, and the DNC was dumb enough to fall for it, because they were eager to have a “new look” for the party.
Interesting thought!
where did my post go?
Great news!!
“WE SAW THE PUMAS BEHIND THE NEWS PEOPLE ON CHRISS MATTHEWS.”
We had a great showing behind Mathews, even though others took positions in direct line to the cameras. We were off to stage left… we were LOUD and PROUD.
There was one loud obama supporter, and all he could say was “stop the hate”. Hate?? wtf…?
Is chanting “Let the delegates vote” a hateful statement? Maybe, but only to those who hate democratic prosesses.
68 mzebest–if that is your perception of the threat of Obama to our democracy–i support your observation.
i agree that the correct answer is to step aside and persuade his delegates to vote for senator clinton. sadly, we know this will never come to pass…
#76 coloconnect Great idea re. Greta . . She seems very supportive and open.
I tried to blog earlier, but it wouldn’t post. Does anybody know what Biden is doing in Iraq?
oh we are safe as can be — the police love us!
Hello Dances,
Lots of things happened today, and Pumas were talked about quite often
PS…Chris Mathews really is trying to run for office. He has an agenda behind the hit job he did.
I agree with you on all the points you made!
Four years is a long way off and I am not convinced that she will have another chance.
If she does not fight now I will consider that she let me down. I could give her a pass on that, but she did promise that she would fight for us.
I know – it’s not a right/wrong deal…
tennaseepuma hold your cursor over the face and it will show you how to do it..
Murphy, Dance,
Is it really that quiet in Denver, wasn’t threre meant to be a lot of people?
So how do I make the face?
that is my feeling , too..she will be a bit older then and if obama is president, she won’t go against him..NOW is her time OR NEVER.
I’m a little nervous – but it seems the security in Denver is amazing. Even people who live there can’t get anywhere! LOL We are going in as far as the metro and taking it to the venue.
I’m going to post about it tomorrow later. Chat with y’all then.
Keep up the great work, Murphy, and all the PUMAs in Denver!!
anyone uploading pics anywhere ???
Alright, I’m out. Hit up that link I posted. It’s great for PUMA coverage stories. Night.
there are so many rumors out there. I read one where they had already told her that she’s going to be out in the primaries in 2012. (She’ll have to re-run for her senate seat).
the dnc is NEVER going to let her win if she doesn’t do it now, she never will
Murphy,
Important info tonite. Pls let me know you are still there???
Sorry to be so slow answering you Murphy – took 10 attempts to log in – good to see you back in the den safe and sound
PUMA got a lot of coverage on FOX today always Party Unity My A$$ though – never People United Means Action – too bad. Discussions about the attempts by Obama and Clinton camps to tell everyone that the party is unified yet they are getting all these emails from unhappy Hillary supporters – organized as PUMAs – Heidi Li interviewed and Cynthia Riccia (don’t think that’s right). Both did a good job – coverage was on Shepard Smith and Neil Cavuto and tonight Greta van Susteren – always mentions the hundreds of emails she is getting.
Murphy, perhaps in the morning it would be a good idea for you to remind everyone that we are getting so many new hits on the site and should really be careful to present our true good natures and not slip into distasteful comments in the heat of the moment. You must be so tired – but exhilarated no doubt. You are so making a difference
#81 and #98
I thoroughly agree with you. If she truly is a candidate of change, then she should have the courage of her convictions. She still has 4 years left as a US Senator. Will she be reined in for the next 4 years? She has got to assert herself now!!!
Murphy, got stuff to tell you and others!! Pls still be here.
sharpclaws she is supporting her party…and her Senate district. SHe cannot win a floor fight. The super delegates are by and large politicians. They will choose party or lose their jobs…they want better jobs.
Hillary is brilliant. Support Obama. Maintain her position. This is a different kind of strategy. Many Obama people she will have to work with in the future.
Hillary is trying to stay viable for 2012. She cannot win a floor fight. Obama/Dean/Pelosi/and company have the place stacked totally against her. She knows the numbers and understands this.
MURPHY: Go downstairs and read 58States1 summary, play by play commentary/analysis of several speeches as they were occurring…Hilarious…I didn’t look or listen to any…58States1 was so good and funny, why should I?
We were robbed…but so was she. I respect her judgement enough to believe she is doing what she has to do.
all of this is true. However, she will be older and they don’t like her obviously and they will pick somebody younger and still leave her out in the cold..
Oh well, you know, it is what it is and she will do as she sees best and I will vote for a republican for the first time in my life as I mourn the death of a party that I haved loved and supported all of my votong life. But life goes on and we survive. have a great night everyone.
keep the faith!
Do you really think the DNC will support her in 2012? I really don’t think so. Those people will not admit that they were wrong in 2008, hence no support for her in 2012. They will say that she was divisive in this election and her supporters caused BO to lose and that she was not that emphatic enough or really convinced her supporters to vote for BO.
Murphy…..you are making an amazing difference.
There is more energy in PUMA’s than at convention.
There is power in your efforts…the possibility remains that if Hillary doesn’t make it in 2008 the PUMA movement can sway an election….That’s a lot of power!
NOBAMA
She will make it in 2012 unless Obama stands in her way. If he gets badly defeated he may go away.
I agree! I’m NOT changing party affiliation, but I will vote Republican if Obama wins the nomination . . from then on, it will be country and character BEFORE party. 40 year democrat here. Nite all.
Did you all know there are actually people out there who want Obama dead?!
I’m really…quite shocked!
CBS4 has now learned at least four people are under arrest in connection with a possible plot to kill Barack Obama at his Thursday night acceptance speech in Denver. All are being held on either drug or weapons charges.
CBS4 Investigator Brian Maass reported one of the suspects told authorities they were “going to shoot Obama from a high vantage point using a … rifle … sighted at 750 yards.”
Law enforcement sources tell Maass that one of the suspects “was directly asked if they had come to Denver to kill Obama. He responded in the affirmative.”
Good night pumas… I’m so proud of all of you. Every single one… tomorrow is another big day… Hillary will come into the scene and I guarantee — as long as she doesn’t make it all about Obama… she will electrify everyone.
The performances tonight from the Obama agenda line-up was certainly a disappointment… but then again.. we knew it would be.
A Question for Speaker Pelosi
In her speech to the Democratic National Convention tonight, Nancy Pelosi was at pains to underline that John McCain is “wrong” on the issue of energy.
Setting aside that it’s tough to argue that there’s anything “wrong” with advocating a comprehensive, all of the above energy policy, I’ve noted before that John McCain voted against the 2005 energy bill which he said contained “irresponsible” handouts, while Barack Obama voted for it—and that Democrats like Senator Clinton, John Kerry and Chuck Schumer also criticized that bill and voted against it. But here’s an additional point of interest, in view of Obama’s selection of Joe Biden as his running mate: Biden also voted against the bill.
That leaves me wondering, Madam Speaker, does that mean Joe Biden is also wrong on energy policy? Just wondering…
PDXOregon checking in late tonite. Appears we have some new names on our Puma blog tonite. After long day at work, am now watching vids, reading and trying to get a visual of what went on down there in the mile high city. Some insightful comments on the blog.
Marc Rubin from Tom in Paine (The Denver Group) had another good read on his site.
Won’t even try to watch any mainstream media—in fact my bitter but BRAVE well-educated husband actually did try but clicked it off after about 30 min and switched to CSPAN & FOX. Guess it’s just more and more of the same empty rhetoric to match the empty suit—pretty pathetic!
Murphy, Maryland Puma and all you PUMAs, keep up the great work. Please blog us some “tasty morsels” whenever you get the chance.
Tomorrow is another day.
Don’t forget to drink that H2O. Night all ! zzzzzzzzzzzz.
your URL doesn’t work. could you try again? would like to read before I zonk out. Or, guess I could just go to foxnews, right?
I can’t decide whether I like Ted Kennedy or not. On the one hand, he has accomplished so much for progressive causes in the Senate. On the other, he once let a girl drown and he attacked Hillary during the primaries.
What do you guys think?
hebrew.que — i love your name. welcome!
TajM, when did Ted Kennedy attacked Hillary?
He endorsed Obama. But he never said one bad thing about Hillary.
Go spewing your lies somewhere else.
I don’t like Ted Kennedy because he can’t get over his obsession with Kennedy power within the party. He backed Obama because he can control Obama as a puppet. He can’t control Hillary. His power inside the DEM party will be diminished with Hillary as the President.
#135 coloconnect
I can only hope that you are right. However, given the way things have gone during this year’s primary season, one can also argue that Hillary will never be given the chance to succeed. JMHO.
As I said before, this is not a right/wrong thing. There are many sides to the story and I know for sure that all of us here have opinions based on incomplete information. So as they say, garbage in, garbage out.
#139 texan4hillary: just found the article. the last paragraph pretty much sums up my take on it. I’ve cut/pasted it below:
“…The emerging consensus in Hillary’s camp is that Clinton can not be asked to solve Obama’s problem. They say it’s up to Obama to make the case for his economic policies and respond to persistent questions about his experience, toughness and vision.
According to Clinton allies, no speech from Clinton or anyone else can do for Obama what he most needs to do for himself.”
Amen to that.
On that note, I’m off zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Oh my goodness! I have this image of you falling asleep on the keyboard then awakening to continue -
sounds like good news – makes one wonder about all the talk about the BO camp contacting all the delegates-which state was the delegate from?
hope you are planning on retiring for the night soon.
TajM — not sure if we’ve met, but welcome!
I share your feelings. I have very mixed feelings about TedK.
I’m from Boston. I’ve always been proud to say Ted Kennedy is my senator. He has some pretty bad stuff in his past he’s responsible for I know that. But I do believe that his commitment to the vulnerable has been sincere and strong. And I feel pretty bad that he’s dying.
BUT — I can’t believe he backed Obama like he did. It MUST have been a deal in exchange for being named the leader of the health care thing.
I heard Caroline hasnt been as much of a big deal for Obama as they were saying she would.
#143 joeysky
Ted once said during the primaries that Hillary was “not in tune with the nobler aspirations of America.”
That’s a pretty harsh thing to say.
Murphy,
there has been constant mention all day in the media about “Hillary supporters” and PUMAs. They are almost obsessed with knowing what we will do.
You PUMAs in Denver have turned the corner on this movement, and there is no going back.
The press hears us, and wants to hear more. But they don’t have a clue that we’re talking about voting rights. They think its about catharsis about a candidate losing. [as Will keeps pointing out, she actually won.]
Here’s something Alice Paul said in 1916 when the Suffragists refused to support the Democrats, and Wilson, in the Presidential election:
Women need not be alarmed over the danger of antagonizing the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party ought to be very much more alarmed over the danger of antagonizing women.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, WOMEN VOTERS! Now the PUMAs will actually get those votes counted!
Also I wanted to say how proud I am of all the Pumas in Denver. I have been trying to check in during the day while at work.
93 MadLogic
Yeah… I try to check the blog regularly to find out what is going on in Denver!
Halligan’s overviews have been great… Love reading what you are reading and seeing regarding Denver!
The Beautiful Protest and Rise event in Cheesman Park was beautiful and inspiring.
The speeches were varied and moving, and Riverdaughter’s speech was amazing!
They had a large screen set up and showed The Audacity of Democracy… it just keeps getting better!
Dr Bledsoe was inspired and infused with a power greater than ourselves. I was mesmerized.
Dr Bledsoe also delivered a heartfelt thank you for PUMA PAC’s, our, support of this event. It was a gracious gesture on her part.
Our numbers keep swelling as PUMAs arrive in Denver and find their way to headquarters.
Looking forward to tomorrow and what our PUMA day will look like.
If any of you have had any doubts… let them go. PUMA PAC is the place you want to be… under the leadership of Murphy and MamaPuma.
tajm isnt spewing lies. Not sure that ted actually said literally bad about hillary. But here in massachusetts we know how loud the silence of someone like Ted Kennedy is.
The Clintons did SO MUCH for ted kennedy in the 90’s. Hillary and Bill both came to MA several times for him when the very popular Bill Weld challenged him for his senate seat — one of the reasons they chose Martha’s Vineyard for their official vacation spot when Bill was prez was for the kennedy’s.
ted and john kerry have a LOT to answer for for their ridiculously early and betraying support of obama.
murphy
Yeah. This is the problem I’m having with all the Dem leaders who endorsed Obama this year. Most have great records of accomplishments, but treated HRC like crap.
I’m not one to condemn another’s conscience, but it makes me question them all the same…
Riverdaughter’s daily updates are incredible. Today she said that we’d be up all night, and I think she was right.
I had to see “Iron-Jawed Angels” again tonight. I needed the reminder that the Suffragists were ridiculed by the press, misunderstood, blamed for problems in Democratic Party, etc. But they kept at it. And they made it.
I think tomorrow [today] will be bitter-sweet. A great celebration of women’s suffrage and hearing hillary. yet, also seeing what the party is doing to the roll call vote and continuing to elevate The One.
It took the Suffragists many years to get the vote. It might take us years … but we WILL get fair elections where all the votes are counted! And, along the way, we might get another “President Clinton.”
157# IF NOT HILLARY 08 IT WILL BE 2012!
just got this in email — THANK YOU to the puma pac sender — it is SO good to hear how we are being portrayed. The ironic thing is that here in the white hot center of the action we are very isolated. We are out on the streets and directing the HQ etc so we cant see the TV or read the papers or the blogs. MP and Piper and Sheri and I (and bunches of others) have been talking nonstop to the press, but we have no idea what they;re saying. Please help keep us all informed about what’s happening in the outside world.
“Hello Murphy & Maryland,
I was going to put this on the blog, but I read some unkind remarks from
Obabots that we are doing this for our 15 minutes of fame.
Anyway, other Puma members provided links today to Denver stories about our
group. The following papers had articles about Pumas including the NY
HEY CHRIS, WE’RE SERIOUS! DAMN TINGLE UP YOUR LEG KINDA SERIOUS!!
AND STILL LMAO!!
PUMAs, let’s stay positive about our Hillary. 4 years in the political world is a lifetime. I think it’s totally possible that Obama will get nominated, and will lose. Then we have 4 years to see the party shatter and help it rebuild with leaders like Hillary. It could be a very different party soon. When a candidate loses the Presidency,the party tends to crumble apart w/o leadership for awhile. That is an opportunity to re-create it.
Who is following up on the Berg lawsuit? Lots of questions, help needed here? Directions? Let’s at least TRY and get Obama to step down.
I have researched this for almost a year. It has legs. Willing to help. Murphy – is this worthy of our time right now? Court documents have been handed to Dean as of Monday, TRO a no-go, but courts appear to be moving ahead on this – asking HI for Certified documents – What do you think?
I don’t want to interfere with your plans, but if there is anything to this Hillary could have a real chance right now.
WORKING ON UPLOAD TO SHUTTERBUG.COM FIRST~
Sorry I disappeared PUMAs we had a bad storm here and I am wilting so I don’t know how much longer I will be here. (I’ve been like the walking dead all day) Murphy and all of the Denver PUMAs you are doing such an AMAZING job! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. It’s people like you who show us that we CAN make a difference. I only wish I could be with you, but alas, circumstances prevent it.
For the PUMAs (New or otherwise) who are beginning to feel a loss of faith for Senator Clinton. Please bear in mind that Senator Clinton is operating now with a political gun to her back. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the DNC is somehow threatening her Senatorial (I totally botched that spelling…) seat. The DNC is desperate to boost BHO as high as they can (And are failing dismally I add with glee). What they fail to realize is that we know what is going on back stage and we are NOT GOING TO STOP! Injustice must be punished. And we are going to hurt the DNC and BHO in the worst possible place. The voting booth in November!
leelasavage, welcome!
Elaine – I agree completely 100%
Hi and goodbye Murphy! Yes it has been far too long adn I’m sorry I haven’t been able to be on as regularly as I used to. I’ve been really busy and am trying to budget my time accordingly. =/ But I will be on when I can! Hopefully earlier tomorrow if it rains more. No chores.
good morning pumas
thank you pumas, the ones in denver for all that tremendous work
enjoy denver, it would make history
and the ones at home that also working very hard
thank you too
I think it was sunday
when I sort of half sleep half awake
I was kind of dreaming that
biden was supporting HILLARY at the convention
Inu – I would like to know what’s in the political gun pointed at her back. This is the thread that I keep waiting for someone to pull on. Wondering how much it will unravel.
We are all operating without all of the facts – we all know that. Things go on behind closed doors. Murphy and the PUMAs in the inner circle know much more than us plebians. And they don’t know anything compared to the political insiders.
I like to remain optimistic and I am trying to do so. But these are trying times and the cheating, lies, and abuse is beyond blatant. Just wondering what’s going on – that’s all.
I still support Hillary. Just asking questions. Curious minds want to know.
Goodnight Muphy …I too will take a nap now…LOL….I have been taking short naps…..don’t want to miss anything. I am so PROUD of You and ALL Pumas!!!! Nite Nite.
BTW – THANK YOU to all PUMAs who had the audacity to protest in Denver. I wanted to be there with you!
Fantastic job.
Maybe I am naive, but if the DNC is threatening her senatorial seat or anything else, then she should come out and say it – or whatever is going on. We all know that the best defense is a good offense. She is a strong lady and can hold her own. If we really want change, then honesty and forthrightness have to be the passwords. Maybe that is the strategy that is being overlooked. I really think that more people would respect her and what she stands for. This is the problem with politics. The back room maneuvering has to be stopped. PUMAS have been fighting and revealing thoughts and what is being done. Secrets beget secrets and more secrets lead to unfortunate deals, misunderstandings, ill conceived notions, rumors and bad feelings. Just think of how many rumors have been circulating because no one is truly revealing what is going on. Everyone is assuming and “hearing things”, but does anyone really know!!! We are not dealing with other countries where sometimes diplomacy has to be accomplished behind the scenes. We are dealing with American politics, American lives and liberties. Therefore, we are entitled to know what is going on and what the truth is.
#175 sharpclaws
I really wish I had an answer for you sharpclaws but sadly I don’t know anymore than anyone else here. But I can say that I DO know how the Clintons think and what kind of politicians they both are and I can tell you that you should never count them out. Bill and Hillary are FURIOUS about this (Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned after all.). Of that there is no doubt. And the DNC has to have something hanging over her head to keep her in line. We can look at it this way, if we know she doesn’t have a future in the party, she knows it. Hillary Clinton is an incredibly smart and cunning woman, not to mention an amazing politician. Obviously I don’t have any solid facts to support what I say but I can say that I’m pretty darned sure if Hillary thought there was another means of getting herself into the Presidency, she would take it. It’s what she wants and she knows she’s one hell of a better candidate than BHO.
Urgent Letter campaign….
There is an urgent letter campaign on the state level. They are trying to get every state represented.They are notifying the Attorneys General and Secretaries of State that because of the dishonest handling of the primaries and convention by the Democratic Party they will work to revoke their special status that allows them to place a candidate on every state’s ballot without fees and petitions.They want letters sent to state AG and Sec of State to make appropriate charges for each state……
Perhaps Darragh or someone could contact C.Mendez to offer help…… There is more info in the e-mail
Good fortune Shane, Ireland
This is what always bothers me. ALL of these politicians have something hanging over their heads. Probably the only one who didn’t was Harry Truman!!! So, it would seem to me, that these things hanging over their heads could probably be cancelled out!
Inu – I understand what you are saying. I agree with your points. I also agree with Luckyseven. I am willing to wait and see how this all unfolds.
My point is that this year the politics seem to have crossed from politics as usual to just plain ugly and evil. I think that’s why PUMA is here. And I really think that Hillary was caught off guard. But I could be wrong.
Thank you guys for the discussion. I was in no way trying to be negative. I applaud this movement and everything it stands for. And I am privileged and humbled to have been aboard.
PUMAs, unfortunately, I am about to faint.
I’m so tired. I’m going to head onto bed. I will see you tomorrow hopefully earlier than tonight. (Here’s to hoping for rain! *Crosses fingers*) Keep up the great work Denver PUMAs! And to all of us PUMAs, you are all incredible! Keep up the amazing work and we can accomplish great things. Goodnight PUMAs!
“Poll: More than half of Clinton backers still not sold on Obama”
By Susan Page, USA TODAY
DENVER — Fewer than half of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s supporters in the presidential primaries say they definitely will vote for Barack Obama in November, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, evidence of a formidable challenge facing Democrats as their national convention opens here today.
In the survey, taken Thursday through Saturday, 47% of Clinton supporters say they are solidly behind Obama, and 23% say they support him but may change their minds before the election.
Thirty percent say they will vote for Republican John McCain, someone else or no one at all”.
All great PUMA people. Let the word go forth on the above please.
The above 30% represent a lot of voters that will be strengthened by your lawful demonstration there in Denver, and continuing after the convention. Also, you will see there another 23% who are “on the fence”.
Obama’s Misfire [Peter Wehner]
I want to echo what Yuval says, as well as Jennifer Rubin over at Contentions. Senator Obama’s new ad, trying to explain his association with the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers, may rank as among the worst tactical mistakes of the campaign. It puts into play an issue that has been largely ignored by the MSM. It will drive at least some responsible members of the press to cover the truth about Obama’s association with Ayers, which is certainly enough to seriously harm Obama. And it once again raises the problem of Obama’s other troubling associations over the years, including (but not exclusive to) the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
For weeks it has been clear that Obama is, for the first time in his national political career, on the defensive. He and his campaign look increasingly rattled. They seem unsure what strategy to pursue and what the new rationale for an Obama presidency ought to be. They seem to be shifting back and forth, from trying to recapture the old magic, now long gone, to using a two-by-four against Senator McCain. And now they have made what strikes me as a major misstep. Many people who never knew who Bill Ayers is, what he has done, and what Obama’s relationship with him has been, are about to find out. And for a presidential candidate who is still a mystery to many people, and about whom they persistent and growing questions, it cannot be a good thing to be linked to Ayers.
The Obama campaign, which was running an almost flawless campaign for months, had begun to crack under the pressure of a presidential campaign. That pressure has now created a break. It is one I suspect they will come to regret.
Angry Clinton backers targeted
Posted: 09:30 AM ET
From CNN Associate Political Editor Rebecca Sinderbrand
“A new McCain ad is targeting supporters of Hillary Clinton”.
“(CNN) – As the Republican campaign to take advantage of fresh reports of friction between the Clinton and Obama camps shifts into high gear, John McCain released his second ad in two days aimed at wooing the New York senator’s disappointed supporters.
Watch: McCain’s new ad targets Clinton supporters
The new spot stars the Democratic convention delegate who lost her slot two months ago when she said publicly she’d vote for McCain, not presumptive nominee Barack Obama. After the party’s decision, McCain asked Debra Bartoshevich to join him on the Straight Talk Express during a campaign visit to her home state of Wisconsin.
Watch: How is McCain’s new ad playing out?
“I’m a proud Hillary Clinton Democrat,” says Bartoshevich, a nurse, in the 30-second spot. “She had the experience and judgment to be president. Now, in a first for me, I’m supporting a Republican, John McCain.
“A lot of Democrats will vote McCain. It’s okay, really!”
The TV ads, and the campaign’s “Citizens for McCain” outreach initiative to former Clinton supporters, are being joined this week by efforts on the ground, as senior advisor Carly Fiorina and other top McCain officials head to Denver to recruit these disaffected Democrats. The Republican National Committee – which has opened a temporary war room in Denver – has made it clear the effort is a convention priority. “Typically when parties are split, the other one wins,” RNC Chairman Mike Duncan told reporters.
Bartoshevich is among a small group of self-described Clinton-turned-McCain voters who’ve traveled to Denver this week and organized a kind of parallel counter-convention, with daily press conferences, protests, and movie screenings.
Sunday evening, a few dozen gathered in a former garage-turned-café a few minutes and light-years away from downtown Denver for the premiere of a new anti-Obama documentary, “The Audacity of Democracy.” Participants included PUMA founder Will Bower – part of a pro-Clinton group that visited McCain headquarters shortly after she conceded in June – and Andy Martin, a conservative activist and author of an anti-Obama book who has been credited by supporters of the Democrat’s campaign as the original source of the false rumor that he is a Muslim.
Nearly all of those interviewed said they planned to vote for the Republican ticket in the fall. Some insisted Clinton might still stage a convention floor coup and win the nomination Wednesday; others said they believed McCain might tap her as VP of a unity ticket
Reports that Clinton was planning to ask her delegates to support Obama were greeted by some there with angry disbelief. “Have you heard it from her mouth? Have you? Have you? Did her campaign say it on the record?” demanded a woman in a black pro-Hillary t-shirt. “Yeah, I didn’t think so,” she said, and walked away.
Others expressed hope that McCain might tap her as his running mate on a new “unity ticket.” “We went to mass and prayed for it,” said Toni Leigh of Taos, New Mexico. “They would make a great team.”
Monday morning, Bartoshevich herself – along with a few other minor celebrities of the “PUMA” movement – is slated to hold an RNC-sponsored press conference plugging the Arizona senator’s presidential bid”.
Did anyone see Caroline Kennedy’s remarks after MO finished whining? She was asked by Wolf Blitzer why Hillary wasn’t on Barack’s short list. She smirked and said well Hillary would be on anyone’s short list. Wolf pushed her and said well clearly she wasn’t vetted like Biden, Kaine, etc….she got really uncomfortable and said she wasn’t going to discuss it anymore as it was a confidential process. BS!!!! It was a rigged process – not confidential…..these PEOPLE make me sick to my gut. I can’t wait to curl up with a pint of Ben and Jerrys come that special night in Nov and HAVE MY DESSERT.
Thank you BoombaPUMA from above Post of 5:32 AM. Great photos. Thanks.
Morning Pumas
Could not get the blog radio last night. Did not want to see or hear MO, so went to bed early.
Ready to go today.
MURPHY, WELCOME AND A BIG THANK YOU. You and our fellow Pumas make us proud to be Americans and for standing up against the evils of the corrupt DNC.
Good morning, Pumas, I, too, did not go to blog radio and I did not watch the Convention. It’s a sham. I have just spent the last half hour writing a long editorial to the Daytona Beach News Journal. I’m afraid to post it as it will be in moderation. I don’t know if they will print it but hope they do. I also intend to send that to other newspapers.
Haven’t read the posts so I don’t know what’s new.
What is most absurd about the media rhetoric around the convention is the idea that there are some magic words that BO can say that will make us fall in line so he can close his deal.
n.b.: the media is full of rumors of HRC ‘releasing’ her delegates. However, when she spoke to the NY delegation this morning, no mention of releasing her delegates!
Lots of talk about unity…but please call these and all delegates to remind them of the importance of voting for HRC on the first ballot – to celebrate her historic candidacy, honor the 18 million who voted for her, and recognize that Hillary is the electable Democrat – if the Democratic Party wants to bulldoze a selected not elected nominee, delegates need not be complicit. Their offices are still taking calls and counting opinions as they weigh their obligations and responsibilites. When did a state abandon their Favorite Daughter?
• NEW JERSEY: Please remind Pamela Hughes that she needs to cast her first ballot for Hillary – she is there as a Hillary delegate and according to the DNC standard, “All delegates to the National Convention pledged to a presidential candidate shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those who elected them.”
• ILLINOIS: Yes to first ballot vote – J.B. Pritzker, who was one of the former first lady’s national co chairmen, said he expected just about all of Clinton’s delegates to follow her request and — after casting their votes for her — fully support Obama.
• FLORIDA: A delegate writes to “please watch this video http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-65630. Mitch Mallett is the delegate who is speaking to the Hillary supporter-’s email. Please email mitch@itsyourgavel.com a quick note to say Hillary did NOT release her delegates to vote for Obama, they have a duty to vote for her on the first ballot. And this guy is from FLORDA. (How anyone from Florida or Michigan would back Obama at this point is BEYOND ME).”
• TEXAS, CALIFORNIA, COLORADO: Most Clinton delegates still plan to vote for her at the convention, even if she releases them. “This is much bigger than Hillary,” said Pam Durham, a Clinton delegate from Fort Worth, Texas. “I have a responsibility. I do not own my vote. I have to represent the voters who sent me.” Pat Bakalian, a Clinton delegate from Santa Cruz, Calif., agreed. She said she came to Denver to vote for Clinton, “and it’s what I’m going to do.”Both Durham and Bakalian said Obama has not yet won their support. They are waiting to see how Clinton is treated at the convention, and to make sure the nominating process is run fairly. Daniel Kagan, a Clinton delegate from Colorado, said, “I was sent to Denver to vote for Clinton. I would be letting my voters down if I voted for anyone else.”
“If Barack is the nominee, he is the nominee,” Diana Carpenter-Madoshi, 62, a retired nurse from Rocklin, Calif., and a Clinton delegate said. “I’m still pledged to Hillary because I was elected by my district to be her pledged delegate and I’m honoring the voters who voted for her.”
DAYTONA BEACH NEWS JOURNAL
BY FAX: (386)681-2533
Dear Editor:
The News Journal reported on 8/25 that the DNC Credentials Committee voted to award full voting rights at the national convention in Denver at the behest of Barak Obama. I find this disingenuous as Barak Obama was the candidate who refused to allow this to happen prior to his “selection” by the corrupt DNC as a nominee. Hillary Clinton was the candidate who was shouting out to be heard to have these delegates seated in full. Howard “Coward” Dean refused to be a leader and repeated over and over, “we have rules.” At the Rules Committee Hearing on May 31, the vote was not to seat the full delegations but punish them for going early although other states went out of turn and were not punished. Florida’s delegates were punished by being awarded ½ vote. Michigan was also punished and its voters were also only ½ of a person. Moreover, Obama was given uncommitted delegates which by DNC Rules are to go to the convention floor to vote. Four (4) of Clinton’s pledged delegates were given to him to keep him ahead. Furthermore, according to DNC Rules, no one was allowed to campaign in FL and Michigan although Obama ran campaign ads in Florida and deliberately took himself off of the ballot in Michigan and told everyone to vote uncommitted.
The massive fraud that took place in the caucus states, particularly Texas, is under investigation. Obama was awarded more delegates for fraudulent caucuses while Clinton’s were diminished although she won large states. Please look at this documentary about voter fraud in the Democratic primary: http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/video/index.htm
Now we hear from Clinton’s delegates in Florida and other states that they must vote for Obama. They are being intimidated and threatened. The death of Chairman Gwatney in AR is being investigated. He was a delegate who had agreed to sign the petition to allow Clinton’s name to be put in nomination. Some of FL’s delegates have reported that Howard Dean & the DNC are going to have secret ballots. DNC Rules state that “no secret ballot shall be permitted… . Voting shall be by voice vote, or when prescribed by these rules, by roll call vote.” Howard Dean had been in hiding and was taken to the convention under cover. Hillary Clinton, the woman who received 18 million votes will not have a fair roll call. The order of states which usually starts with A, B, C, etc. will go out of order and pass over the states Clinton won and begin with Obama’s states. When Obama has the required number of delegates, the roll call will stop. Doesn’t anybody question why Clinton was forced out of the race even as she was winning?
At this juncture, neither candidate has the required number of delegates without the Super Delegates who can change their minds. It is obvious the DNC will not allow Sen. Clinton to be recognized for what she has accomplished by thwarting the will of the voters. Why is Obama afraid to have a real roll call? Is he afraid she will win?
If we are a democracy, we should be allowed to cast our votes freely. I will not support a nominee who has been “selected” not “elected.”
well I HAVE TO GO
I see you pumas later
I hope the lawsuit cames up in the media
and something happens
before thursday
#203 SouthJerseyPuma I can’t see the pics, the password doesnt work either in caps or lower case.
On my local news they have a story about 3 young guys that were going to do in XO in Denver….have you heard anything yet?
#209: Heard some little story yesterday about Obama threatened. What about when the head of the Arkansas delegation gets killed? No info!
210 normapapuma – I haven’t even heard them say anything at the convention yet about Gwatney – have you? or Tubbs? Heartless!
Happy to be here this morning-I survived the MO ordeal with all the commentators crying…On Jay Leno last night John McCain was his disarming self. Can’t wait to vote for him.
I would think we could send out emails to the news medias and have them ask at the convention about this – you know – like a reminder of their callousness?
NO, I haven’t-I’m disgusted and scared for my country. I think I’m going to have to change my party affiliation.
Yes I heard last night they discovered an assasination plot against xo, they were going to “do him in on thursday” according to them.
Good Morning PUMAs,
I am so sick of hearing the delegates and the media say that Hillary has to unite the party. That is a lot of BS to put one person.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and good luck to our PUMAs in Denver. Keep up the great work everybody.
Please, if you can. I have to limit my computer time because of a broken arm that’s still healing so I’m frustrated too.
I wish it would be enough to scare him into resigning,but that won’t happen
I keep e-mailing the media to remind them that I am not joining the “unity” bandwagon. If they hear it often enough, maybe they will begin to believe it.
I hope they don’t rig the roll call like they were talking about yesterday.
I’m embarrassed for Bill and Hillary. The entire world is seeing how a former First Lady and former President is being treated by their own party.
Heard Wolfson say this morning on FOX they are still working on th roll call dilema-to vote or not to vote? Fox is making fun of the idea of derailing the vote!
I think the delegets should form a pact and all vote for Hillary ,then when she trys to acclaim for xo she won’t be able to because she will have all the votes or a majarity of them
excuse my spelling please
Good morning Puma’s
I was at the ER all night with Mom and missed everything that went on in Denver……boo hoo….lol
I am watching Fox and Friends now and have heard some pretty interesting stuff. Wolfson was just on….said Hillary and 61 are still trying to work out the details. They jumped all over that..lol, said “it’s the day before the roll call, shouldn’t it be worked out?” Wolfson said they are working on it. F&F also said Terry and others from HRC would not be staying for 61’s speech Thursday night.
Something smells in Denver….lol
They also arrested three men suspected of a plot to assassinate 61 Thursday Night.
One more thing…….McCain may announce his VP Thursday.
I’M sorry if all of this has been covered. I haven’t had a chance to read blog from last night.
My feeling on MO’s speech is it was a script, she probably was being prepared the whole time bo was away on his magical mystry tour.
If Hillary don’t get the nom she should join John Mccain!
225 redraz9 – good morning and that’s okay..I didn’t hear the part of anyone leaving the convention early
I didn’t listen to Michelle speech, but from what I read about the whole night, the re-writing of the history is furious.
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/party-like-is-1984/
#206 Ladyhawke, I want to thank you for your letter to the Editor. I have been asking about this overturn of the initial RBC ruling on the last two threads, but no one seemed to have been interested in responding to my questions about this blatant reversal and manipulation by the DNC. I really think this smacks of dirty politics and I think we all ought to do a PROWL today in notifying the media to investigate and highlight this clearly despotic tactic. I wrote to Lou Dobbs last night about it. I really do not understand how incidents such as this are going unanswered in the press. This ruling along with all of the other tactics practiced during the campaign and now at the convention seem facist to me and not democratic. Is this a preview of a presidency we would have with Obama? I will write to more of the news media today. I hope Murphy et al in Denver can raise this issue as well.
Michelle Obama’s Speech?B>
Was a study in sociology….you all know she studied sociology – it was designed to “utilize” psychology to get us to support her and to think of them as a family…
My mother had a psychology degree and I recognized the attempt to “sway America, in almost every sentence”
I could only take so much, trying to exploit her brother, mother, father, children, all in her speech called the
“BIG CON” When she brought her children into the mix, All I could think of was “Why did you bring your children to that hate-mongering church and let them sit there listening to trash about America?”
Like everyone else, I found it a sterile speech, not particularly genuine. It was a boring speech and the objective was obvious and quickly recognizable as another attempt at “MANIPULATION” using psychology and sociology.
I actually fell asleep in the middle of it and I’m not old that should tell you something!
What was the highlight of the speech? There was one revealing sentence for me where she speaks about her husband “thinking like she does” it slipped out, but I caught it….our first glimpse of Michelle admitting her influence on her husband. So what will she be doing in the whitehouse at 3AM?
I must have missed something.
Why is Barack Obama trying to tell our former President Bill Clinton what he should talk about in his own convention speech? I think President Clinton has a far better understanding than Mr. Obama has of where America has been, where it needs to go, what we need to do now, and the history and legacy of the Democratic Party.
I realize Mr. Obama and all his paid group of sycophants there in Denver are trying to control every last detail of this convention in which they want everything to be a thoroughly scripted event; but speaking for myself, and I believe another 15 – 20 million voters, I would like to hear what former President Bill Clinton has to say.
I hope that is all right with Mr. Obama and his organizers.
If they have a problem with that, then I say “No Problem”…. We’ll just reserve that Denver Stadium that holds some 90,000 people, and we’ll meet there the night following Mr. Obama’s speech to his swooning masses.
Thank you.
I just got my morning chores done, and there it is on our greeting: Betty in a red Hillary decorated pick-up truck drove all the way from Pittsburg PA! YEA BETTY! Remember the Redheaded Mother and Daughter from Bluffton, IN? And how we all took the county by 60+% in an area that was supposed to be 100% Obama?
Well, the two of us are PUMAS! I knew you would be too!
I know I’m late to the party- what a day for my netconnect to mess up. ANyway, I wanted to say I agree with the disappointment in Hillary NOT holding up for US. Hey, we’re still here for her and, if she could run in 12, I’d be thrilled to vote her in again.. But, a lot can happen ‘tween now and then and, yes, she will be older. We know how badly she was already treated– add 4 years to her and he media would be even more negative.
I have a great idea for McCain’s veep pick, tho– HE should beg Hillary to join HIM- certainly would be the winning ticket- esp against BO and the BOzo Boyz…
Okay, going to sleep- finally….
67 MadLogic
I have to add my plea for contact from Denver as well!
How I envy the support unit they have together in Denver. Trying to hold it together alone is rough and pictures or blogs from our PUMAs in Denver is like a bright spot in the day.
Think I am going to go across the bridge and stay with MP’s mom and baby for the rest of the week!!
****Just kidding!!
BTW – the speech was so well orchestrated that it was just another scene out of the playbook. Just as I expected. Didn’t move me to anything…except working harder to keep them out. Running this country is not a game!
Doesn’t it make you wonder why it was so easy to spot someone carrying guns into Pelosis hotel?
Then the next day those boys are swerving on the road in their truck in front of the police, and they make it into a plot to kill Nobama?
Either America doesn’t LOVE Obama as much as he proclaims or the headlines are being stolen one day at a time to distract from the “protests in the streets”.
Ladyhawkke
Did you hear Ed show last night….wont discuss it here…
I did not listen to MO speak last night. I did note that she has had a real makeover, including hair. They have tried to ‘civilize’ her enough to make her acceptable to the American people. Not so fast. She is still the woman who has disrespected the country that produced her. She is still the woman who sat cheering Rev. Wright on in his acid laced sermons. She is still the one who is mean spirited and disrespectful of the Clintons. No pretty make up and hair job is going to change that. No charm school cram course is going to make me like her one ounce better. No sad tale about her family or sweet fairy tale about her courtship with the Jester is going to make me any less unhappy with the situation.
So There!
Oh yeah ,,good morning Pumas
GOOD WORK PUMAS IN DENVER!
238 Henerietta
I couldn’t watch it either…the news media wasn’t so kind to her afterward…
Hillary is in a difficult impossible situation. If she does not support the party NOW then she will never get support from the party in the future. Her New York delegation is pressuring her terribly. She might not even get support for her next bid for the Senate.
Hillary must have the Democratic party on her side to have any power to help us in the future. She has no choice but to support Obama. But we must be understanding and maintain our position no matter what she says.
I will vote for McCain. That will off set one vote for Obama.
Hopefully the lawsuit will find Obama is not a citizen and will open up the election. But if Obama is removed and Hillary put in his place there is no assurance she will get support. The entire Democratic party looks like it might crumble under the corruption of the leadership. Especially if Obama is removed for not being a citizen.
I will not accept the corruption in the Democratic party by voting for their corrupt candidate. NO WAY. I would have even been torn if Hillary was on as VP to vote for the totally corrupt Obama. At least this way it is an easy choice for McCain.
I do like McCains energy policy. He wants to develop ALL forms of energy as fast as possible. I support this position. The basis of the strength of the country is based on energy. Energy performs useful work. The more work performed by energy the higher our standard of living. We do not want an economy based on human work like the chinese in the past using millions of people to accomplish a task. Using machines is the way to go.
4 years is not that long to wait. It is better than 8 years under Obama who will destroy the foundation of everything that America has stood for.
BTW has everyone really read about his Communism connections to his mentor as a child. Frank Marshall Davis. This guy is going to undermine all that America stands for. Putin is a Communist President of Russia. America does not need a Communist President.
I find it incredible that this guy is considered acceptable by people as a President. Just incredible.
#206 ladyhawke…..GREAT Letter!!
HELLO to all the PUMAS in Denver…you are doing a fantistic job in representing us!! You are probably not awake yet. Am with you in SPIRIT!!!
YUK…couldn’t watch MO’s speech or Kennedy’s for that matter. Loved the fact that FOX barely broadcast Pelousy’s speech! Looking forward to hearing what Hillay has to say tonight with mixed feelings.
MURPY et al….wonder if you might have a chance to talk with Carly Fiorina ( CEO of Hewlett-Packard) and one of McCain’s campaign financial advisers. She was on FOX yesterday and said they have a war room set up somewhere in Denver. She has been reaching out to us disaffected Hillary supporters and is highlighting women’s issues.
As they say in Texas ,,, you can bring a horse to water but you can’t make them drink…
I think a moment of silence for them would have been in order, but lack of respect for our traditions seems to be fading.
I just sent this email to Hannity and Greta at Fox News:
“Hello, I wanted to raise the question about the reversal of the DNC RBC regarding the seating of the FL and MI delegates. This reversal of the ruling on May 31, 2008 seems to be an undemocratic manipulation of the rules for the benefit of one candidate. At the time of the meeting on 5/31 there was vehement opposition to allowing FL and MI to be seated in full. At that time the delegations were given half of their votes. Also, 4 of the votes that were won by Sen. Clinton were “given” to Sen Obama who was not even on the ballot. Now, because it is the convention, the RBC, who adamantly said the rules have to be followed and enforced at the 5/31 meeting, are reversing this decision. This is unacceptable–this is blatant manipulation by one candidate and for one candidate. I believe the Declaration of Independence states “by the people and for the people”. These are facts and they need to be investigated. Furthermore, we understand, and this information is by first hand reports, that delegates are being coerced and even intimidated into voting for Obama even if their state or district was won by Sen. Clinton or they choose to support Sen Clinton. I am outraged that these events are being basically ignored and not being investigated thoroughly. This is a preview of the kind of president we would have if Obama were elected. This is not democracy and that is what I and others are fighting for–intimidation, coercion, and altering of the rules for the benefit of one person is not democracy. Please investigate!! Thank you!
They were interviewing Geraldine Ferraro and she finally got it…she said well they well never get the pumas vote..
Clinton Advisers Skipping Obama Speech
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/08/25/clinton_adviser_to_skip_town_b.html
So proud of PUMAs in Denver and everywhere. Thanks to you our message is being heard. The first night of convention looked more like a coronation than a nomination. Hoping Tuesday and Wednesday will be better. Thanks to all of you, maybe it will!
GM All…………….
I am furious thinking about this DNC SHAM; “The CON-vention”.
This has got to be one of the biggest cover ups in America’s election history. The DNC pawns off “The Empty Suit” as candidate who can fill the most important position in the world. If the Presumptuous One becomes the Nominee, I believe there will be more voters changing their Party affiliation. This Party Loyalty will become a theme of the past. We need a Candidate who is the most qualified and has the experience to lead this country in the right direction. As an employer, if McCain and Obama sat across the interview table from me; and I did back ground checks on these guys…I’d go with McCain!
GM to you PA Guy,
Today is a new day. Maybe it will turn out to be a good day.
#234 Annebecket “I have a great idea for McCain’s veep pick, tho– HE should beg Hillary to join HIM”
I know, I know…..have mentioned this several times. Some seem to think he wouldn’t ask her and she wouldn’t accept. But maybe if Hillary wakes up and realizes with all this possible roll call curtailment and the way she has been treated overall…like the ONC is putting her and Bill out to pasture…..that maybe, just maybe she would consider it.
That would be a coup for sure! Then we can start a PUMA Democratic party over the next 4 years and she can run for POTUS in 2012. Like others have said, am wondering if this “new” (un)democratic party would ever support her again, is she doesn’t stand up now.
247 redraz9 – you know – XO may only be giving a speech to half a convention floor – now wouldn’t that be something? Would be worth a picture!!
Good letter
What gets
me is that they know about the voter fraud and the are going to award someone for bad behavior… im going to post it again :
Pelosi is a terrible speaker. OMG she is like a robot. She kept saying the same old thing. O is right and McC is wrong. it was so phony.
Michelle seemed a little better as a speaker.
Kennedy was a dud. He is just an old fat fart. Never liked him.
I may have watched like 5 minutes total of all speakers. It was all terrible. I just could not watch. I watched from the computer. ABC news had live coverage on the computer. The software worked pretty well for live coverage. The best I have seen. It is some kind of new software that must be very fast.
I am so disgusted with the Democratic Party. So much corruption. I have voted Democratic all my life. I got into politics in 1952 with the stevenson convention. Now that was a convention to watch. It was so exciting and just great. My father was a life long Democrat. He always voted Democrat all his life. It is incredible that I should vote McCain but I am first an American and 2nd a Democrat. I will vote as I see what is best for the country. I will not accept all the corruption and abuse to the voters passed out this election on the public and then vote for those corruption and act like it did not matter. If we are to clean up politics then we the people must stand up to corruption.
When the DNC learns that power comes from the people and they act in an honest way then I will support who ever is the nominee. the DNC must be taught a lesson. They are trying to steal this election and I will never support that. Communist Russia steals elections. I will never support Communism.
Speaking of Bill giving his speech,Did any one here weather it was going to be HIS SPEECH or what the Obama Camp ordered him to say? Ya know it strikes me funny that Obama thinks he can tell Bill what to do!!
#230 Hillgirl hi, I also wondered (and I know Heidi Li looked into it, but didn’t get an answer) what happened to those Michigan delegates? because technically if they were going to restore them to full status then he should have had to lose his delegates that he took from Hillary at the RBC meeting? I am sure they looked into it but didn’t get any answers from the DNC or DNCC.
If you ask me that is against freedom of speech…. umm well some how not surpised !!
The talking heads are saying how much time is being wasted at this convention…that it is boring for them too.
I noticed that the people attending the convention, seem to be enjoying the music more than the speeches! Just lackluster.
Obama has an attack dog with a million dollar house as a Vice Presidential pick, to rip apart a war hero like McCain…pretty disgusting description.
Michelle was talking to the veterans a few weeks ago, bringing back her sociology report on them, and her pandering to them in her speech was making me sick.
HOPE AND CHANGE is just an election year “Gimmick” – marketing 101″.
A candidate comes into your town after studying you under a microscope…he talks to your issues…uses your phrases…speaks about change…your needs…your choices…and you just think he wants to “save the world and you too”
And as he slinks out of town…he smiles…”mission accomplished, suckers” my community organizing skills had you eating out of my hand – I agitated your discontents heightened your awareness of your disadvantages and positioned myself as the choice, to make it all go away.” Empty promises of hope and change, and it works like a charm, every time………. except with those PUMAS, they see through my rhetoric, even when I try to use the “issues” for leverage, they keep CLINGING ONTO DEMOCRACY AND AMERICAN VALUES and they see right through my meaningless words. I want CONTROL!!! Why can’t they just step in line and HAND OVER THIS COUNTRY TO ME??
#234 annebecket -
Hillary Clinton is here, now, for her country because she know this Country is in desperate need of a competent Democratic President and that BO is not it. The fact that she did not choose to continue a destructive, expensive battle for this nomination shows her wisdom. She just makes it clearer that she is the one we need for our President.
It is time for Americans to stand up.
Michelle’s speech was predictable, but well delivered. I asked my 86 year old PUMA mom if she ever remembers (her mind is still as sharp as ever) a potential first lady ever making a speech promoting her husband. She said, no because we never knew who the nominee was going to be. Tells ya a lot does it.
When MO mentioned Hillary, and threw us a bone, the crowd cheered. MO didn’t know enough to stop talking and let the crowd have their say. She just kept talking right threw the claps and cheers. It seemed desperate to me, and a direct attempt at damage control. I still want to know who exactly she was referring to when she said, “if you can’t run your house, you can’t run the White House?” Jackie Kennedy perhaps?
Darragh……. Please refer to entry 181 You may like to help C.Mendez, Puma Latinos Urgent Letter campaign
Further to my brief entry, Puma Latinos feels that by concerted letters and faxes to the DNC, that the DNC may feel that they could loose their special status with the states…it could force them to do what’s right and hold a legittimate roll call on Thursday….
Urgent, Urgent..please look into this e mail as soon as you are able.
Don’t forget it’s voting day in our wonderful state today!!! I don’t know about you, but I’m MAD and getting EVEN. Today I will vote againist my democratic party. (Wonder if my vote will even count today,huh?)
Stay beautiful!!
Puma power!!
I would love for the convention to be packed for Hillary and Bill then empty for bo except for his few followers
Must see;
http://notready08.com/
Also, another new John McCain ad is out. Link isn’t out yet but it is good!
I am in FL but changed to independent and this is a primary so staying home.
It wasn’t touching, hopey, dreamy, or changey- Honestly I felt more like I was watching her brother toast her and Obama at their wedding lol w/ the basketball game story etc not about who would make the best President- And I despise the way they act as if she’s already first lady etc– There’s something called an election in November for the people, by the people PEOPLE!!!!!!
Senator Obama’s main backer is as you saw last night, Kennedy and it’s political machine. How’s that for change. A man who has been in WA longer than I have been on this planet. It really made me angry to see a segment last night stating that Kennedy and Obama would lead the way in healthcare. Kennedy and Obama know nothing. There would be no healthcare reform in the democratic party had it not been for the efforts of the Clintons. And now these two are going to claim to be the leaders of that effort. O threw his plan together just to run for President. That alone makes it impossible for me to vote for him. I only hope Kennedy lives long enough to see how he has destroyed this party.
Good morning,
Okay, sometimes when I blog over here I ask questions and no one bother to answer, but on this one if someone knows what “Uncle Tom” means I would like to know.
Clinton supporter says she was called ‘Uncle Tom’ By Obama Mentor
August 25, 2008
A black delegate for Hillary Rodham Clinton says she was called an “Uncle Tom” by Illinois Senate President Emil Jones, one of Barack Obama’s political mentors.
Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb says Jones made the remarks Saturday night while discussing her support for Clinton. She called the remark “fighting words” and unacceptable.
Jones, who also is black, said Monday that he never uttered the slur. He says he referred to Cobb and other Clinton supporters as “doubting Thomases.”
I agree Prowlland.I for one cannot wait untill this convention is over.Went to bed early so I didn’t have to here MO.Now on fox is BoB Beckel spewing his crap.
WOW McCain is really hitting a nerve with the Obama Camp on his newest video with HILLARY called Hillary Clinton AD. WOOOOO its too good
Here’s a positive news article that is more truthful!!
re: new delegate count
Why can’t we insist on getting the new delegate count since FL and Mi were restored, before Hillary turns over her delegates? Perhaps the next puma in front of one of the media cameras can mention this?
Preston on Politics: PUMAs stalking Obama
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/23/preston.puma/
Frank Marshall Davis, alleged Communist, was early influence on Barack Obama
from British newspaper – The Telegraph.
Good Morning, PUMAs. I just heard on NPR this AM as I drove into work that Hillary has already released her Delegates. Any truth to this?
Beca4Hillary: Uncle Tom is a name which came out of the book, Uncle Tom’s cabin, written before the civil war, drawing attention to the injustices of the slave system. Uncle Tom has come to mean a black person who ingratiates himself to a White person. It is not a compliment but rather a put down to any Black who plays along with the Whites to remain on their “good” sign.
There is a long interview of Will Bowers in the article I just noted.
Very good article!
I hope this is easier to read without so much bolding.
And as he slinks out of town…he smiles…”mission accomplished, suckers” my community organizing skills had you eating out of my hand – I agitated your discontents heightened your awareness of your disadvantages and positioned myself as the choice, to make it all go away.” Empty promises of hope and change, and it works like a charm, every time………. except with those PUMAS, they see through my rhetoric, even when I try to use the “issues” for leverage, they keep CLINGING ONTO DEMOCRACY AND AMERICAN VALUES and they see right through my meaningless words. I want CONTROL!!! Why can’t they just step in line and HAND OVER THIS COUNTRY TO ME??
Well onto plan B, I’ll just have to steal the PUMA votes,
opps! I forgot, I already started plan B in the caucuses.
Why stop now?? It’s Chicago strong-arm Politics as usual.
Beca4Hillary: that doesn’t make any sense calling HIllary an Uncle Tom. What are they doing? Changing the meaning. It is an awful label to put on anyone.
#269 Beca4Hillary It is from the book Uncle Tom’s Cabin
Wiki
My take of the Democrats: They keep doing all this hokey stuff – presenting the Obamas like they’re the 21st century version of Father Knows Best, and presenting Obama like he’s the next Messiah, but also an ordinary guy. Then they turn to the people and say, ” Do you like us now?” Next they poll people and the people keep saying, “No, we really don’t like you yet.”
When are they going to get it?
Uncle Tom is a pejorative for a black person who is perceived by others as behaving in a subservient manner to White American authority figures, or as seeking ingratiation with them by way of unnecessary accommodation.
Michelle Obamas Speech”
In the whitehouse I’ll………..
Is the election “fixed”? What makes her think we want her in the whitehouse?? Being presumptive?
I heard Hillary was ASSIGNED the job of eulogizing the 2 deaths-Tubbs and Gawtney(sp?) because they were HER friends. Some “unity”.
I read many of the newspaper articles about PUMA – it seems that the most accurate and most positive reviews came from foreign presses – the Herald in London and a Canadian paper…wonder what that says…
“So how was Michelle’s speech?”
What was Michelle Obama’s speech missing?
1. True emotion, she almost got there but missed the mark.
2. Barrack’s childhood heros
3. People who inspired Barrack throughout his lifetime.
4. Military story
5. Colleges they graduated from
6. Church life as a family
7. Spiritual mentors
8. Experience in office
9. Barrack’s family stories
10. Barrack’s sisters or brothers
11. Barrack’s praise to his Grandparents who raised him
12. Barrack’s places he lived other than Hawaii
13. Barrack’s experience living in other countries
14. Barrack’s elementary or high school memories
15. Barrack’s love of his mother/father or step father
16. Barrack helping his poverty stricken family members
17. Barrack’s business associates, jobs he had and struggles he met becoming a Senator
18. Barrack’s lessons learned in life.
19. Barrack’s favorite teacher or any teacher that inspired him.
20. Barrack’s love of family other than her and his daughters.
21. Barrack’s relationship with her parents.
22. What her parents felt about Barrack.
23. Barrack’s childhood religious experiences.
24. Who and what molded Barrack to become the man he is today.
She was suppose to come out and tell us the life story of who Barrack Obama is. She was suppose to sell him to the middle class, middle American, Hillary suppporters and undecided voters and cross over Republicans. She was suppose to leave us with a connection that would make us consider the possibility of voting for him. She left me feeling, disconnected.
Yes the kids are cute, Michelle looked nice and she even managed to say, “That’s why I love this country.” But she could not stand still, she spoke too quickly for me, and she never once showed a tear of emotion with the story of her father’s struggle with MS. The one place I was connected to her is when she mentioned bringing their baby daughter home. Other than that her speech was talking points. If I had to grade her I would give her a C-.
I loved the Kennedy’s as usual they connect to people on an emotional level and on a Patriotic level. They make you want MORE families like them. Not perfect, not without sin, not the most beautiful looks, but they are all about loving their family and their country.
SHANE, do you have the e-mail addy to post. I didn’t read thru everything. I want to contact them and help. I’m in Florida and we have a heavy Hispanic population. This needs to be a PROWL.
I have received an E-mail from Puma Latinos…..
Urgent Letter campaign….
There is an urgent letter campaign on the state level. They are trying to get every state represented.They are notifying the Attorneys General and Secretaries of State that because of the dishonest handling of the primaries and convention by the Democratic Party they will work to revoke their special status that allows them to place a candidate on every state’s ballot without fees and petitions.They want letters sent to state AG and Sec of State to make appropriate charges for each state……
Perhaps Darragh or someone could contact C.Mendez to offer help…… There is more info in the e-mail
Good fortune Shane, Ireland
#21 Lucky Seven…I think it’s the opposite. She is not looking after her career here. She is going along with the party to put her in a position to continue to fight for her issues and maybe a future run for POTUS. She is not a Joe Lieberman, a man with out a home.
My overview of the DNC Convention last night.
I watched it online so I did not have commentators adding their hype to it. Which I was thankful for as it gave me an opportunity to view it without bias.
The first person who I listened to was Nancy Pelosi:
She referred often to how Bo was going to be change and how he offered an opportunity to change. Yet, she never mentioned what kind of change or how he was going to implement this change. Her words were empty, almost like have a pie crust but never adding the filling. Very unfortunate.
Claire McCaskill (I’m sure I spelt her name wrong):
Again talking about change but not identifying the type of change to expect. All we know from her is people are looking for change and Bo will bring it. Not very convincing. I was beginning to feel she was getting paid for the number of times she said Bo’s name. Like a childhood game of Simon says.
Caroline Kennedy served no purpose in her speech except to attempt to bolster Bo and Ted. She spent more time talking about Ted than Bo. She was obviously placed there to connect Bo to the Kennedy way of politics.
Ted Kennedy (I didn’t hear all of his), he was well received, but then whether that is because he is liked or whether its applause for the fact that he has been through a tremendous ordeal lately will be unknown. He was there obviously for the pity vote and because of his long standing in politics.
The Town Hall was a farce and a complete waste of time. The panel appeared to be very nervous and not wanting to be there. Body language spoke volumes from each of them. They kept their eyes away from the camera and the host of the panel kept looking to the floor. I wondered if they had a few too many cocktails before getting on stage. There was a nervousness about each of them. And surely it can’t be stage fright, I’m sure each of them have been on camera before. But I guess when you have to avoid answers and yet appear you are answering it could make anyone break into a sweat. I felt they were also looking to each other for confidence, unfortunately none were displaying the confidence one would expect. As for the questions, it was a farce, they chose questions that required no direct answer, making it easy to skirt any issues or provide definitive answers.
Overall I felt I was watching a pep rally and these were the cheerleaders. There was nothing in anyone’s speech to show the undecided voters why they should vote for Bo. The audience was lukewarm to say the least, the music which I’m sure was chosen to get them pumped didn’t even provide the effect they hoped for. It was a dead crowd in an arena that one would expect excitement, jubilation and conviction. Sadly, it wasn’t. It came off as a lame attempt at a last chance to promote a dying party and candidate. The beigest applause came when Michelle mentioned Hillary. Michelle’s face should her emotion at that time, she was surprised and I’ll admit she handled it well.
The DNC tried to show Bo and his family as a normal American family with the same focus and goals as everyone else. Reality is no person running for President is average. There’s no way around that. By the time they reach that point they’ve become an actor, gamer and an everyday conversation piece. Most normal families are not in that spotlight and hence those who are have moved away from being the average family.
As for the Obama kids making an appearance, this was not necessary and was definitely presumptive. They should have waited til after the nomination. It’s not like the public has not already seen them.
It was a fine display of praising Bo and an opportunity for some back patting for the DNc, but other than that, it lacked substance and was definitely meant for a tv sitcom not a political arena.
What the &%%^!!!!!!!
After watching the we will not be silenced documentary I am MAD MAD MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the Texas Primary was going on I remember calling down there at their headquaters to see how ell things were going and the woman I spoke with told me that at the CAUCASES, Obama supporters and Caucus leaders were locking out Hillary Supporters. She also told me that there was a specific incident of a group of older hispanics that waited in line for hours to vote for Hillary and were turned away because Obama people locked the doors!!!
I asked her if Hillary knew this and she said that this was being passed over to Hilary Clinton. I looked for media coverage soon after and there was nothing. That is when I concretely knew that this O man was a set-up to the American people. They have done it right in our faces! They have figured out the way to keep the voices that are shouting less loud and pushed the faces and voices of Democratic voters who don’t know what we know up front. It was all done with media media media! There has to be something that we are missing!
I will think very long and hard about this- but there is something that has never been done (in non-harmful protest of soemthing) that we need to tap into.
Resources _(PEOPLE, EACHOTHER) all all around you. Use them. This is the time if never before-THIS IS THE TIME.
PUMAS-I wanted to be down there with you, I planned on driving and this week was my vacation-I unfortunately had surgrey that prevented me from going-but I am strong in mind and there is plenty of Formless stuff out there that we havent grabbed yet!
#302 Prowland Yes, I did it too, but it was not a prowl from Murphy, we did it on our own. Murphy has the master e-mail list. Also, it needs to be posted on other pro-Clinton websites. I’m re-writing my AG again with more specificity. Also I want Ricki to contact the Hispanic Pumas as Ricki has a huge e-mail list also.
Regarding MOs speech. I don’t have anything against MO. I just don’t care who the first lady is. Clearly the MSM men want to believe that the First Lady is some sort of leader among women and this just is not the case. They seem to think that women who supported Hillary for President will not transfer their loyalty to a man and so all they need to do is to find a BO oriented woman and women will then transfer their allegiance and get in line.
Earlier they tried this same line of BS by coming out with some story about MO being a victim of sexism. They even got the National Org for Women (which is actually the ladies axillary for the DNC) on board with that load of crap. That time their thinking was that Hillary supporters just really want some victim of sexism to identify with and so if they throw out MO as that victim women will transfer their loyalty from Hillary to BO via MO. I don’t know how they come up with this crap! It looks like they are putting their best men on the problem and running whatever they come up with past a bunch of women who derive benefit from kissing their bums to gain a womans perspective. Probably too many men who could never get a date in High School talking to each other about how to influence women.
#307 Well remember women who serve the country in DC for 20 years are bitter and acquire baggage. Men who serve in DC are wise and acquire experience. I heard it on the MSM! Over and over and over, so hey it must be true!
9 Flowerchild2 on 08.26.08 at 8:35 am Beca4Hillary: that doesn’t make any sense calling HIllary an Uncle Tom. What are they doing? Changing the meaning. It is an awful label to put on anyone.
WOW! I did not write that article, I am not calling Hillary “Uncle Tom”. That article is posted in website “Against Barack Obama”, google it, I am a die hard Hillaty supporter, hispanic, and I do not come here to put people down, if you are going to start that with me I would never come here again.
Is anyone watching fox? some guy is talking about pumas and what they want from hillary. I was in the kitchen…his name is laney?
9 Flowerchild2, I apologized, I did not understood your message, I thought you were saying that I was calling Hillary “Uncle Tom”. Please forgive me!
I’m on FOX and Rendell’s comments are supposed to be next – re: Hillary’s supporters.
I felt Michelle’s body language was that of a person trying desperately to hold back the aggressive, I’m in control attitude. She was rocking, lunging, and haunching. She made it a point to let us know SHE was Barrack’s tutor and HE was late to show up. Immidately she is like his TEACHER instead of his endearing wife. SHE was HIS tutor, in control, teaching him the ropes, in control. Then she says at least 3 times he has this funny name. She said, “Who would name their child a name like that?” Well that would have been the perfect segway into his childhood, parents etc. NOPE can’t mention any of that.
She had her mother and brother there to sell you on her upbringing…..where was Barrack’s family members, not so much as a mention of him even having any except a single mother and grandparents who raised him. That’s it! And as for where he grew up, hmmm the only mention was something about the two of them living across the country her in Southside Chicago and him in Hawaii. That’s it folks….can’t elaborate.
As usual MUM is the word. Keep it all hidden, don’t speak about it because it will take you into areas HE does not want to go. Indonesia, Kenya, Trinity church, Rev. Wright, radical neighbors, slum lord Tony Rezko, unopposed running mates strong armed out, citizenship, Muslim religion, experience, family relationships, etc etc.
Its not what Michelle Obama DID say last night …it is what Michelle Obama Did NOT say last night that concerned me and left me feeling I did not learn anything new.
She gave us her story about her father struggling with MS but she couldn’t conjour up ONE tear, yet Caroline Kennedy and Maria Shriver couldn’t hold back their tears just watching Ted Kennedy walk on that stage.
Michelle and Barrack lack a sense of emotional connection. The beautiful little girls was a nice touch. Who can resist the voice and smiles of children? Is that enough to make ME want to vote for him? hmmmmmm
I think NOT.
Good Morning Puma’s!
I didn’t watch MO’s speech. I can’t stand to even look at her. I feel like I’m looking at a smiling snake.
Beca4Hillary: I wasn’t putting you down at all. I’m not sure why you think that. You said no one answers you and wanted to know what Uncle Tom meant.
Beca4Hillary: that’s okay. There’s so many posts that you don’t always catch them.
ladyhawke #207 — thank you so much for that post — extremely useful and concise information.
Morning!
Maybe I’m wrong for saying this, but if Hillary does not speak for herself tonight, then she is just as much part of this sham. I want a fighter…not candidate that will collapse and conform to everything we are against…A corrupt Party.
#326 PA Guy, I totally agree!!! If she fawns all over Obama tonight, I do believe her career will be over. She will not be fighting for “We the People”, she will be only standing and fighting for the Democratic Party.
I will be off the the Florida polls as well. Have looked up everything and ready to not vote for the democrats. This state should have stayed with Hillary. When Debbie W. Schultz wants to run and I am sure that is where she is heading….she can remember how she pulled back and went with the flow. Every female politician right now in my opinion is only hurting themselves. Do they actually think that they will be treated any better than Senator Clinton? They should have all stood behind her, stood up and said this can’t happen and should not. The party picked this candidate for the deliberate reason of preventing Senator Clinton of becoming president. She was the front-runner. The democrats were ready to vote for her and put her in the White House…until Kennedy and his political machine rigged it. It all starts with him.
right on sly puma, I say it often enough — I feel like a broken record.
I think the press likes to use the more risque phrase, non?
or — what prowlland said.
Thank you, I feel better now, have a wonderful day!
I plan on faxing Hillary’s office later to get the message out…We’re in it to win it…not back down to the DNC! Once she on that stage and the roars for her, how could she not fight for us?
OK I just got the lodown on this uncle tom thing.
Unrelated to this thread, this person had this to say on a You Tube Video:
kevinks69 has replied to your comment on PUMA (Party Unity My Ass) Exposed:
You guys just go ahead sabatoge this election so that Obama loses, it’s cool You guy’s will never see Hillary Clinton in the white house, just remember the Obama supporters have just as much power to fuck her out of an Election in 2012, and that is exactly what will happen, you guys will be crying like little babies once again, this is through your own actions. let’s see just how much you really love Hillary Clinton.Democrats will just be fucked for the next decade+ just like you want it.
What is so hard for them to understand? Nobama has no experience!!!!!!!! No amount of hate spewed by these people will change that! Of course there are more reasons than experience, but that is the MAIN topic. And I am afraid that had he had Experience, I may have been reticent not to “Fall in Line”.
Sitting here in my Hillary shirt and reflecting…I have a hard time being as optimistic as others here. If Hillary already has/or will be releasing her delegates, then I will just go back to my boring life and vote for McCain in November. I have health issues and the stress of this is just too draining. I only hope that someone will be on top of this voter fraud issue, so that we can have a FAIR election come November – if that is even possible anymore. This election certain has opened up my eyes to so much more (corruption) than I’ve ever known possible – and what a disappointment it has been! I hope to one day be proud to be a democrat once again.
Just a reminder…writing in Hillary’s name is actually a vote for Obama.
McCain/Clinton – now wouldn’t that be a slam dunk?
~~~~~~~~Rock on Pumas~~~~~~~~
I just joined you all after lurking for some time.
You have all inspired me with your dedication to the cause and making sure that OB does not get a free pass to the White House because he was chosen by the DNC. The DNC does NOT represent me and they will not earn my vote this election.
I am looking forward to helping in anyway I can.
Morning Murphy
You and others are doing such a great job.
Thanks to all who reply to me last night, I was so tired I snoozed away without realizing
Battle for the Hill: We have to check our state to see if they will take a write-in. If not, yes, the vote may go automatically to O. Remember what President Clinton said a couple of weeks ago when the press caught up to him. He said, he can’t talk about things now, but the truth will come out in January. Hold onto that because this isn’t over yet. When O is crowned….more and more will come out. And then we have January.

346 MsMaVotes Hello and good morning.
Why do the trolls always post 4 letter words? That’s about the only words they actually know how to spell, and they can’t write a sentence, and they never once give a valid reason to vote for O. Now if O, with all his star appeal, hope and change, media attention, and kennedy political machine backing can’t win our votes, how do these trolls expect to help Obama. I can’t quite get the psychology here. They sound way angrier than we do, and it’s only because we will not vote for O. As far as the threat against Senator Clinton in the future….all these new O supporters signed up by O and his camp. How long will they stick around and vote for years like we have. There will be no more rock concerts, no change and hope, and they will just stay home. Fine with me. The heart and soul of the party will vote for their nominee.

I hate to say it but if Hillary has truly cratered to these charlatans, I’m afraid I’m done with her too. I understand all she’s gone through ( at least as much as we can with the information we’ve been given), but selling out after taking such a brave, storng stand for this country; for women; and for all American families is just too much to stomach. Maybe she’s just tired. Who can blame her. Maybe there are threats we know nothing about. Whatever it is, I can’t play the game anymore. Either she has the moxie to stand up and say “I’m in it to win it” one more time, or McCain can count on my vote.

Have to give Rendell credit for his taking on the media.
The media is out of control. These are not news reporters, they’re talk show hosts. Sickening.

Good morning Pumas: Ohio voters, before you write in Hillary’s name in November please be aware that unless Hillary files a “Declaration of Intent” by Sept. 3rd your write-in will NOT count nor will it go to Obama. As of today Hillary has NOT filed the Intent with the Ohio Secretary of State. A vote for McCain Will be a vote against Obama.

Thank you bytheLake!! I needed a Hug. It is bad enough that we fight against the corruption of the DNC. And idiots out there like this say such things. And now I am worried that he is right. That they will try to mess up the elections should Hillary A: get the nomination this time, or B: Mess it up for her in 2012!! AGGGHHH!! All the Hard work PUMA’s, Murphy & others to get a FAIR election and these idiots will try to undo it all!!! AGGGHGH!!
I feel much better, I have done my prowls. Hopefully Murphy will have time to e-mail the rest of our Puma pac
I have to comment. I don’t think its right to Bash Hillary for backing Obama. I can’t stand the man either. But Hillary doesn’t have a choice. The DNC will ruin her career if she doesn’t back the nominee. Its not fair to expect her to throw everything she has worked for all her life down the drain. We all have a pretty good idea how she really feels. Its just a side show like the rest of this election process. The only thing we can do at this point is vote for McCain. Write in votes won’t work. There are not enough states to allow write ins. All you will be doing is taking votes away from McCain. If you truly want Obama to go down you have to vote for McCain its the only answer. You can’t take away votes from McCain and expect Obama to lose. I know some people want to write in Hillary’s name as a simbol. But your biting off your nose to spite your face. If you really want to take the power back from the DNC, the only power we have at this point is our vote. Its up to you whether you want to waiste it, or make it count.

FAXING THIS LETTER TO MY ATTORNEY GENERAL…. EMAILED IT TO ALL THE NEWS AGENCIES!!!
Office of the Attorney General
Mr. Tom Corbett

Harrisburg, PA 19120
Mr. Tom Corbett,
Subject: Objections to Special Status Granted to the Democratic Party on PA State Ballots
I am writing to you to protest the state of Pennsylvania allowing the Democratic party access to our state election ballots.
I understand that state officials cannot intervene in the internal operations of any political party. I want to make clear that this is not what I am asking you to do. Rather, I am putting you on notice, that if the DNC refuses to hold a bona fide floor vote on the nomination, I will work diligently to revoke the special status that our state laws grant to candidates from the Democratic Party to get on the ballot.
We spend taxpayer money for elections that are fair and honest, and support the will of the people. The DNC has shown through it’s nomination of a candidate by fiat, that they are not abiding by our state’s principles. Barack Obama was given the nomination without reaching the proper number of delegates needed to secure it. The super delegates do not officially vote until the convention. Now we see that the super delegates will not be voting at all.
Furthermore, there are widespread reports and investigations of fraudulent voting irregularities in several states. In the Texas caucuses there was massive voter fraud and voter intimidation. In Oregon there were dead people voting. In Los Angeles, gang members were hired to walk neighborhoods and threaten people to vote for Obama. In some southern states there are instances being investigated of votes being sold for $20.00, or in some cases, for drugs. These problems affect the results of voting in all states, Nevada included. (i.e. see website http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/nevada.html )
I protest the spending of our state tax dollars to allow a private club such as the DNC to pick their own candidate in violation of even their own rules, and run that candidate on our state ballots. I assure you, I intend to work to amend our state laws so that from now on DNC will not be allowed access to our state ballots without the requisite fees and petitions that the other political parties such as the Green Party or the Libertarian Party must pay and supply, unless they return to holding fair elections based upon votes of citizens. You can count on it.
I suggest that you notify the DNC of my intention, backed by the intention of a very large network of protestors under the aegis of justsaynodeal/puma. I have tried to warn the Democratic Party myself, but the party is not hearing me.

James Carville is definitly sending a message. He is a savy guy and knows what is going on. Likes a good joke too.
We all have different opinions and agendas and that’s ok and I agree this is not just about Hillary anymore, there are many battles to be fought but at the end of the day, we all have a great stake in helping Hillary become our president.
Keep in mind that Hillary is the consummate politician and in the face of current conditions, most of us would have folded long ago, she remains still front and center, after all, after obama, who is the media talking about? Our Hillary, that’s right, Hillary, do you really think that’s a mistake? She knows which fights to pick and which to avoid. Hillary is walking a tight rope right now and it is a shame that some PUMA’s are disrespecting her.
There is no way she can win this time and four years will give PUMA’s and many others a great opportunity to do some real grass roots organizing and run a completely different campaign—we now know how to run a campaign—what a first that will be, first Woman President and first viable grass roots campaign.
Hillary has a staff of 60 in Denver, does that sound like someone who is just going to disappear after the election?
Please, keep the faith, she is still working for and supporting us and it is up to us to let her know we are still solidly with her no matter how long it takes.

IF YOU GO AND USE AN ONLINE FORM IT WILL BE STUCK IN AN OFFICE LIST FOR WEEKS BEFORE ANYONE SEES IT. WEE NEED THESE TO BE SEEN TODAY. Call the Direct Secretary for these people and ask for an email or fax where this can reach them in Denver. Ask if you can send it directly to their personal Secretary and what her fax number and name are.
My understanding is that to make this have the desired effect- we have to get a good portion of these letters to the intended recipients like TODAY. The response we want is for these officials to groan and go “oh no… these dang PUMAS are going to wreak havoc on my office for the next 3 months if Hillary doesn’t get her roll call vote”, and they are going to march right over to Coward Dean and say “look, we don’t want to deal with this. this is YOUR fault, now GIVE HER HER VOTE”.
Here is the letter to send to your state’s Attorney General and Secretary of State. You can google their addresses and phone numbers online. I suggest calling their office EARLY in the morning, and finding out if there is an email or fax number that will actually reach them in Denver and send it straight there.

Hey all, I just checked out the weather in Denver for today, and I saw that it will be stormy. Thursday night looks like it will be sunny but aparrently Denver weather is unpredictable.
Good Morning PUMAS in Denver and everywhere!! No comments on MO, what for? But I just wanted to say that if the worst happens, and Hillary does not get elected, PUMA will serve as a strong movement to stop Obama from being the next president. It is important that people know about us, even after the convention, because it will mean that our fight will continue beyond this show called DNC. I have to admit that sometimes I am sad because of what is happening with Hillary, but we have to transform our sadness into strength to help our country from this catastrophe.
I still have hope, but my hope is stonger when I see that PUMA is growing, and that we can all help stop electing Obama.
It is imperative that people see him as what he really is, no matter if Hillary was forced to play politically correct.
To all of you in Denver, keep up the great work, our country awaits, we can’t deceive this great country of ours, that is the task of the DNC.

Isn’t that the whole point of having a roll call? Why stop is it looks like she could win the nomination? I am just so disgusted about this whole sham of an election. I also can’t believe Hillary would allow this.

392 lisa ~~~ Yesterday, I sent the letter to the Washington State Attorney General and the Secretary of State. I received a receipt/reply this morning from the AG, saying the letter would be processed within 10 days.
I still have not been able to reach anyone to get email addys in Denver.
Hello Denver Pumas and Pumas everywhere
My business has picked up a little so my limited time is even less now but my business is PEOPLE and I do have a big mouth and I think of myself as a frustrated investigative reporter and I tell you Pumas,
NObama has no chance of winning the general election!
I get the same thing from all races and genders, middle class, They just don’t trust him.
Most do like him, especially his little girls, but they just don’t trust him.
The younger ones want to be different and hip, most of them support NOBO.
But they’re not re reliable voters!!!
And from now till November when the excitement wears off they’ll lose interest, most won’t bother voting.
The worst that this fiasco will boil down to?
Hillary may go down with the sinking NOBO ship.
:rolls:
: rolls :
Is anyone moderating today? Some really questionable conduct here this am. Not very PUMA-like.
Bruce555: well the DNC, Obama supporters and the trash media will do their best to pull her down with him, but…when the truth comes out, she will be back on top. The democrats were poised and ready to nominate her. Republicans were scared of her. She can come back. A recent poll was just done. 49% of Americans want Hillary to run in 2012.
Anyone that’s pushing the line that Obama isn’t bad (twice here, at least) is selling something we don’t want to buy. We know he’s bad, or otherwise we wouldn’t be opposing him! Did you research Barack Obama? Did you hear about him attending an anti-American church for 20 years? What about his “God Damn American” moral compass, Jeremiah Wright? Did you know Barack Obama launched his state senate campaign from a known unrepentant terrorist’s (Bill Ayers) house? Flipping Hillary off? Voting “present” 130 times? Dirty dealings with Tony Rezko? Etc., etc., etc.
I would expect that the person or persons pushing this meme is an Obamabot, acting like we’re stupid. The only stupid ones are those that would come to this blog thinking we couldn’t see through you.
I was listening to callers on CSPAN, it is great to hear all of the Hillary supporters calling in. The media is really trying to silence them.
Trish and clintonista – beautiful videos at top of thread – thank you
Neil Cavuto on FOX is being incredibly overbearing in interview with Aaron Paz – a delegate trying to collect signatures for petition in Denver
FOX playing video from May 31st RBC – Harriet Christian she is on now on FOX
She’s waiting for Obama to ask Hillary to clean his windows
I must be missing something very important – where are you all?
This is spooky……
McCain is ahead in the polls by 2 pts now and Obama is running scared…
Obama and DNC are trying for no Roll Call vote…..
What I cant figure out is why they are calling it Obama Party and Obama’s Convention
Hello Fellow PUMAs
It’s de ja vu, 1968, all over again!
Howard Wolfson on Fox a few minuese ago, said that there will be no more negotiations – it’s Obama’s election and he will be calling the shots from now on. He refused to answer any questions directly – just danced around them – except to say that the negotiations are over (not exactly in those words).
The Bully is picking up his marbles and going home – sore loser!
They have no clue what they are asking for – and, boy, are they going to get it.
Hold on to your hats – looks like a rough ride is ahead!
KEEP THE FAITH

Poll: More than half of Clinton backers still not sold on Obama
By Susan Page, USA TODAY
DENVER — Fewer than half of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s supporters in the presidential primaries say they definitely will vote for Barack Obama in November, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, evidence of a formidable challenge facing Democrats as their national convention opens here today.
In the survey, taken Thursday through Saturday, 47% of Clinton supporters say they are solidly behind Obama, and 23% say they support him but may change their minds before the election.
Thirty percent say they will vote for Republican John McCain, someone else or no one at all”.
——————–
The SF Chronicle yesterday reports that a CNN poll released Sunday shows 27% of Hillary supporters are inclined to vote for McCain.
Hillary can “release” her delegates but they are free agents and can vote however they want.
Apparently, BO is “in charge” of what happens… this is his convention; he calls the shots, he’s the choreographer…
He can try to sway the delegates; however they are free agents and will vote however they see fit.
(Unless, of course, the roll-call is aborted or called off!)
220 fineartistinoil
10 pm eastern standard time…
And with this I hit the road (on business)… hope to make it to the hotel in time for Hillary’s speech (CA time)… though I’m a little queasy about it…
Will catch up on the posts and latest news tonight.
You can’t make this up. Michelle Obama spoke to the Convention last night, and there was an immediate change in the polls. The Obama numbers went down, and the approval numbers for John McCain went up.
I repeat that please: The Obama numbers went down, and the approval numbers for John McCain went up right after Mrs. Obama spoke at the convention.
I don’t think that was the intended direction.
Today’s Gallup Tracking number for McCain over Obama is now +2. One to two days ago, it was tied even.
Continuing with the “you can’t make this up” news, Rasmussen Tracking is now showing a Tie, and CNN is also showing a Tie. This just happened.
My advice to Mr. and Mrs. Obama …… It is too early for measuring drapes for the White House.
From the way I see things right now, it could be John and Cindy McCain doing the measuring for drapes on January 20, 2009, the date of the Inauguration.
Reference: Go to RealClearPolitics.com, and punch in Polls. For further analysis, hit GallupTracking, and it will take you to the fine poll analysis pages of Gallup.com.
Dear all great PUMA people …. Get the word out please, and that includes the fine folks there at PUMA Hq. there now in Denver.
Thank you.
