Clinton Delegates are pissed. The Clinton National Delegate Network, a grassroots movement of delegates is on the streets of Denver collecting signatures from Hillary delegates. This eleventh hour effort is being organized to ensure that delegates who were elected to represent the voters of each state can and will vote for the candidate they were pledged to.
The DNC and Nancy Pelosi, the Chairman of the Democratic Convention, are doing everything in their power to make sure that does not happen. With Obama’s flagging support, according to the polls, running neck and neck with McCain, they are very worried that Hillary will get the nomination if a roll call vote takes place on the convention floor. That is why they are making the delegates have a secret hotel vote, instead of the floor vote that’s been done since forever. The hotel vote will purportedly take place on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008.
However, there is a DNC rule that says if 20% of a candidate’s delegates sign a petition for a roll call vote, it must happen. This means that Hillary needs 826 of her delegates to sign this petition. I visited their headquarters along with BettyJean, Pagan, Hill08, and BrendaLynn. As we set out on our mission, we got three signatures in less than one block. They headed for the Pepsi Center to collect more, and got about 40 in an hour, and I came back to Puma Headquarters to blog. Last word I got was there were over 400 signatures gathered.
Pagan reports that he talked to a delegate who originally supported Hillary. The delegate declined to sign or divulge the delegation he was from. He said he would vote the way his state party told him to vote and that Terry McAuliffe had instructed them in how to vote. When Pagan asked if he’d mind sharing what that way of voting would be, he also declined, and then just turned his head and refused to engage in the conversation anymore.
Delegates have reported to us that Obama supporters are stationed outside of each delegation’s room with clipboards, ready to make sure that once again, despite their best efforts to represent their constituents (approximately 12,000 voters per delegate in the case of primaries, and 585 in the case of caucuses), that Hillary delegates and voters are ROBBED of their democratic rights.
As recently as this afternoon, we knew that the hotel vote would take place in each delegation on Wednesday morning, and that Hillary would have a special luncheon with her delegates at 1pm. Rumor had it that she might release her delegates then.
However, we have an unconfirmed report coming from someone inside the Pepsi Center that Hillary Clinton will make a special announcement tonight during her speech. Although I’m ever the optimist, call me paranoid: Will she try to pre-empt this grassroots effort by releasing her delegates tonight?
I can’t even imagine the pressure she is under by party leadership. We even heard that President Clinton’s speech would not be televised live in prime time.
Oh my, is the DNC running scared or what? We need divine intervention. If you’re a praying person, give it your all.

Hillary was brilliant as usual. She had to come out to support Obama, but she also demonstrated why she should be the nominee. I still think she is an amazing woman and and outstanding leader. She does show us how to be gracious in defeat and still remain committed to her message. They are trashing her on FOX, but I respect her for what she did. I will never vote for Obama–her speech just confirmed what we all know–he is an inferior candidate to her. So, I still love her, respect her, and admire her. So I say, Hillary 2012!

How many of my astute pumas caught on that Hillary repeated a line from her very infamous PA “Kitchen” TV ad (remember the one showing Katrina, bin Laden, etc)…
If you followed PA closely, you will recall that PA was huge, and that ad meant everything, and winning PA meant everything, and it was the LAST STAND TV ad.
Hillary repeated lines from THAT AD, and I would not have noticed except for the fact that her voice got a lot quieter, and she slowed her words as she repeated the lines. That’s why it stood out for me.

The speech was terrific. Only reinforced to me why I wanted her to be President.

Riverdaughter had a picture of someone holding up the different color pantsuits on her site to decide which one she should wear against the backdrop. I thought she should wear the orange one, and was so happy that she did.
To me, it is similar to when Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded, and she came out onto the stand in a long black robe. She removed the robe and had on a gown of blazing crimson red. It was defiant. It was proud, and it made a statement.

There was a black woman that followed the Hillary speech that was a delegate to the convention, and a Hillary supporter. PUMA’s need to find out who she is and get in touch with her. She was as eloquent as one could be when speaking about Hillary, and you can bet she has contact with others that feel the same way…additional delegates that would most likely sign the petition. I doubt even Obama supporters could sit back and not realize they also made a terrible mistake. PUMa’s, you have done one fantastic job at organizing this push, and I appreciate all your efforts.

So many emotions so many tears. So proud of Hillary, so devastated that she is not the nominee, so pleased to see Bill’s loving reactions, so angry with the DNC and so disgusted with Michelle’s attitude. What a tragic loss to our country.
If Hillary asked me to follow her as she walked off a cliff, I would. But vote for Obama, no way, ever.
Watched the speech, and although I was sad to see how stupid people could be not to elect her for president, it gave me strength to see how presidential her speech looked. MO looked so envious and I noticed her chest moving, I imagine her heart( if she has any) was going crazy to see Hillary so warmly welcomed by everybody in the room.
Did she have to do that? yes, nobody knows the pressure she must be under, but she intelligently gave us a speech in which she did not praise Obama, simply expressed her support, nothing else. She still believes what she always said about him. So let’s keep respecting her UNDERSTANDING her, she is not a quitter, she is a very intelligent woman. Let her intelligence guide her through these stormy times.

OMG!!! I got an email from a local news reporter this afternoon – contacted me through 18,000,000 Voices (meetups) – needed a Hillary supporter for her story on Hillary’s speech tonight! Within minutes of the speech beginning, she was on the phone with me, asking me to please come down to the station – because she’d only been able to reach one other “supporter”, and I was definitely the “stronger” of the two….so down I went. It was amazing!!! There should be a link up soon, and I’ll post that when I get it…Sheesh! I hope I did well!!! I definitely maintained my position that it was NOT HRC’s job to reunify the party – that this job belonged to the DNC leadership and their “selected” nominee. There will likely be increased discussion in the coming days if Obama is, indeed, coronated this week. But for anyone thinking voting for McCain instead of staying home or voting 3rd party, remember that he wants/needs our votes. Don’t give it away. He should have to give something to us. I had to laugh out-loud when prior to Chelsea’s video tonight, Fox News reporter Meghan Kelly, reported that there were lots of people on the streets outside marching around with Hillary signs while chanting “John McCain”. The guy she was talking to said with surprise, “Here??…in Denver??” Yep!!! That’s right!!!

I just finished watching the convention. Hillary gave a beautiful speech. The rest of the convention speeches were boring just like yesterday. Hillary really moved the crowd and I am sure that the majority of them are realizing they supported the wrong person by now. I was watching it on KERA and of course Obama’s supporters were saying that she wasn’t saying enough about Obama and that she should have said that she was wrong about him in the primary.
I am so pissed!!! She has done more than she should have ever done for him already but yet nothing is enough for them. I guess they want her to bow down and kiss his feet and start praying to him. As far as I am concerned they can all go straight to h***!! There is no party unity and there never will be as far as I am concerned. I will not vote for Obama period!!!
I know that some of you are reading between the lines again but the only thing that I heard was that she was giving up for now but hoping for another chance in the future. The only way that I see that she will get a chance this year is if the lawsuit goes through and he is knocked out of the race or something else happens that I don’t want to wish on anybody.
I’m sorry but I can’t fight anymore at this point. I am reading the book about Obama and continue to talk to people. I even had my first shout out with an Obama supporter today. I had to back down because he looked like he was ready to hit me. Anyway I will continue to lurk and keep informed but will no longer be active in the fight for Hillary unless I see something to give me hope. Also you can count on me to never vote for Obama and will continue to spread my influence to others.
You are all great and I am not trying to discourage you. Keep doing what you think is right and I may join you again in the future.

IMO, her speech tonight — even with the artificial and forced references to “President Obama” — was the best ad for the PUMA movement that anyone could have given to us! If ANYONE watching that speech did not realize afterwards that the DNC is selecting the WRONG nominee, then that person needs help!
Hillary was ablaze! I am so happy to be a New Yorker and one of her constituents! If she runs for the Senate again as she has said she will, I will work on her campaign. I watched most of it on Fox, then over to CNN and saw Suzanne Malveax interview the wonderful black woman who was crying. Also saw Pres. Clinton say I love you over and over again. I went out on the porch and cried, came back in and listened to Campbell Brown make the comment about why didn’t he choose Hillary….I wanted to slap her…I’ll tell you why because Campbell and her MSM cohorts helped the DNC steal this from Hillary. They have screwed up really badly and I hope they are beginning to see it!

I agree. I am not finding it easy to consider voting for McCain. I know if Hillary was our nominee I would be telling anyone who would listen why they should not vote for McCain. Obama is as bad or even worse but if McCain wants my vote I need some indication that at least some of his policies are similar to Hillary’s and coincide with my beliefs and that’s why I should consider supporting him.
This is a terrible dilemma, I can’t just base my vote on vengence. I don’t feel good about any of the candidates. (Other than Hillary, of course.)

pamawo – i agree. the choices come november are gonna suck. and i think the implications of how we vote (or not vote) will really vary depending on the state we live in. i live in ca which will surely go dem, so i have the luxury of being about to vote symbolically. not sure how i’d handle it if i lived in a swing state. would probably vote for mc cain, though it would be tough. staying home is always an option, but obviously, a vote for mc cain doubles the impact against obama. it’s a bitch. as you say, “a terrible dilemma”.

I am wiped out from my emotional roller coaster ride tonight. Waiting and waiting for her to speak. So tired of the media analysis. Crying during the video. Seeing her sparkle, and Bill’s pride in her and Chelsey’s love. Anger and dismay that she had to acknowledge BO…and said she supported him. Her speech was uplifting but I felt sadness that she was not giving an acceptance speech.

It is important that when people unite for a common purpose that they express their beliefs and hopes in a healthy manner. Too much hate just pollutes the soul. You may think that because Obama supporters are hateful that it gives you the right to be hateful right back, but would HRC want that? Does that make it right? One other thing, everyone should decide who to vote for with their own conscience. That being said, I will not vote for McCain either. Voting for a candidate just out of spite against another would be a complete slap in the face to our founding fathers who gave us our republic. I cannot support a man who still thinks the war in iraq was a good idea, who believes our economy is just fine, and believes that if you cannot afford health insurance then you just have to deal with it. Screw that. I am not voting for Obama because I believe the DNCs primary was flawed, but I am not going to vote for a man who claims to love America so much but has no regret for sending thousands of Americans to their death in Iraq for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. If that is the definition of patriotism, than I am not patriotic.

Hillary’s speech tonight has to give great pause to the DNC’s decision to coronate Obama. She did as was expected of her and she did a masterful job. She was clear, articulate, and most importantly, she was “presidential.” She has this talent for reaching people with simple words, not the cerebral mumbo-jumbo of Obama. There is a sincerity about her that is truly inspiring, and missing from Obama.
I agree with the FOX pundits who said that Hillary did not so much endorse Obama as she did democratic policy. That is a clear message to us that we can continue on our mission — after all, what good is policy if we sacrifice democratic principles?
I choose not to believe everything that is said or reported. Hillary was supposed to release her delegates tonight – that didn’t happen. Will she call for a nomination by acclamation for BO from the floor? Who knows?
I choose to spend a little time tonight reliving the speech and this historic campaign.

A list has been generated by diehard Obama supporters (*DailyKos, MoveOn, and HuffingtonPost) to go after PUMAs (Hillary supporters) and Republicans that speak out against Obama online, TV, radio, and print.
According to this person, information has already been gathered about these people: financial records, residential addresses, employer information, and a couple of the Obama supporters have even more personal information that is potentially damaging and obviously embarrassing.
Any videos on YouTube that is unflattering to Obama will have a complaint filed against it. As of yesterday, this person stated some 1200 have been flagged at YouTube for a mass complaint sometime next week.
Keep in mind, that none of this will go public as it is being done behind the scenes and none of these people want their name attached to it. Why? Some of this information is highly illegal and could be extremely damaging to the Obama campaign if they’re name is attached to it. If you believe that Obama’s people don’t know this is going on, think again.

Breaking news on Fox about files released that connects Bill Ayers and Obama something about school files from the library. They at first refused to let this guy in to see the records. They found the relationship was much more closer and they served on the board of directors. This is a small foundation Bill Ayers founded the foundation and Obama and Ayers were together in the core group. Questions about where the money went. He says Obama has NOT been truthful about the relationship. Ayers was on the board and gave Obama the position. JUST got the papers today and raises questions until he can go through the papers. He says the media just has not been paying attentio to this. He said it looks really bad and reinforces our worst fears.
This guy was talking to Greta. He said it looks really bad for Obama. He said the papers show Obama and Ayers had a very close relationship in beginning this board. The are questioning where the money went and if it helped Obama begin his first campaign.

JamesLF — I have grown weary of this debate that the Supreme Court appointment under McCain will be a uber-conservative that will forever change womens’ rights. McCain is a moderate, and it appears to be a foregone conclusion that the congress will be largely democratic. A democratic congress will never approve the appointment of an ultra-conservative justice. I actually think the system of checks and balances will be well served with McCain and a democratic congress. Tired argument with no basis.

George Stephanopolos immediately got a call from a well-known republican for comment that said: “There is no question that the Democrats picked the wrong candidate”.
ABC Nightline: They interviewed delegates before and after. One Hillary delegate that she was waiting to “hear Hillary tell them to move on”. She was the only one found again after the speech and she said: “It was the best speech I have ever heard her give and I am more convinced than ever that we are trying to nominate the wrong candidate.”
Many of her delegates were out on the floor before and after the speeches getting signatures for her role-call nomination.
No word yet if they have gotten the required number.
FINALLY: If Hillary were throwing in the towel, she would have released her delegates on National television.
She was so very slow, drab, and methodical at the beginning of her speech. When she got to the part about women’s struggle to VOTE, not giving up, put in jail, etc., she began to get passionate again!
There were leaks that she was going to make a “special announcement tonight”. I think she did:

That speech was all about the platform SHE ran on! BO NEVER ran on or defined and of those issues!

It is up to the Delegates now and I believe everyone is waiting to see if the Delegates sign off on forcing the floor role-call vote.

For those of you who believe that the Hillary Clinton Uprising is a fairy tale concocted by a press in search of convention controversy, think again.
Hillary Clinton’s seductive charms lay heavy over Denver. Defiant supporters can be seen citywide, sporting Hillary pins and T-shirts in direct defiance of Unity.
Nearly every event in Denver includes some unruly joker who injects her name into a perfectly pleasant discussion. Why didn’t Barack Obama pick Hillary as his running mate? Will her supporters defect to John McCain?
So dreaded is the thought of disunity, it has been reported, that teams will be dispatched to quell any unauthorized outbreaks of irrational exuberance from Clinton supporters.
Apparently, Hillary loyalist and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell missed the memo when he accused the media of an irrational exuberance for Obama during the primaries, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, the coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing. It was embarrassing.”
One senior Obama supporter, according to Politico, claimed Clinton associates act like “Japanese soldiers in the South Pacific still fighting after the war is over.” And as every good Democrat knows, war is never the answer.
A new USA Today/Gallup poll finds that only half of Clinton’s primary supporters say they will “definitely” vote for Obama. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll put the number at 52 percent. More alarmingly for Obama is the 30 percent of those polled who claim they will vote for John McCain, someone else or just stay home.
The McCain camp has picked up the theme, running a television ad featuring Hillary’s primary attacks against Obama. Another ad introduces us to a cheery former Hillary supporter who tells Democrats it’s OK to defect.
One of the first press releases of Monday morning alerted convention-goers to the “Happy Hour for Hillary,” an event hosted by the Republican National Committee where GOPers, “independents” and “open-minded Democrats” can come together to cheer on “the most qualified candidate to lead our country as Commander in Chief.”
One wonders if any of these distraught Happy Hour revelers could coherently point out the policy differences between the two. If not, it must be the experience. Right? The personality? Well, vice presidential nominee Joe Biden has definitely got a personality and he’s been plying his trade on the Senate floor forever.
Then again, wasn’t it Obama who claimed that judgment, rather than experience, was the key to astute leadership? What, then, does Biden bring to the ticket that Clinton doesn’t? Mickey Kaus of Slate posited, Biden “doesn’t have gravitas. He has seniority.”
And there is a noteworthy difference between Biden and Clinton: The loquacious Biden entertained the press corps for a handful of primary debates before dropping out. Hillary convinced 18 million primary voters to support her.
So, then, why not Clinton? If you erode your theme of “change” by choosing a longtime Washington insider, why not pick the one who can unite your party?
Perhaps a clue can be found in the words of Nancy Pelosi, who said Democrats need to “begin anew.” At a convention that features Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, John Kerry, Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy (in order of most annoying), who can argue?
Most observers say Biden is the “safe” pick. Maybe. But there is one thing for certain: Picking Biden over Clinton helps a presidential candidate. And that candidate is not here in Denver.

DENVER, CO- There was a noticeable hush in the arena as she took the stage Tuesday night, a make or break moment for the Clinton legacy. Faced with the daunting task of reuniting the party in the wake of her heartbreaking loss in the primaries, former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton came through with a speech of unbridled passive-aggression that brought her small but vocal band of diehard supporters to their feet.
“In case you’re curious, I’m fine,” said Clinton, her mascara running down her cheeks in dark rivulets. “Really, I’m just fine. You go out there and campaign for Barack Obama. He’s the one you want, right? I mean, you guys were committed to me ten months ago, but whatever. That’s OK. You changed your minds. People change. I understand.
I won’t beg you to come back because that’s beneath me. But just to be completely sure, you’re not coming back, right? OK. Cool.
I almost forgot the part Howard wanted me to say- congratulations Barack Obama. Hurray. You proved that sexism trumps racism. Super job.
So, in conclusion, I’m fine. In fact I’ve got a fun night planned. I’ll be at the hotel bar drunk dialing former supporters. Don’t worry about me. Go have fun this week. I’ll be alright. Seriously.”
Sadly, Clinton’s inspirational oratory was not enough to satisfy her most ardent fans, particularly the ones who arrived on the so-called PUMA Mobile. These intrepid messengers left their jobs, back massagers, and cats behind them and bravely traveled across the country aboard their hand-decorated vehicle in order to have their voices heard and their faces seen.
Some mainstream Democrats at the convention have dismissed these protesters as “a bunch of bitter old hags who can’t stand to see anyone get what they want” but these ladies bristle at this characterization, insisting that they are not that old.
According to PUMA, the real problem comes down to voters. They say they love you, but sooner or later they’re going to leave you for another candidate- younger, prettier and with better tits.
“All of my cats are furious over the way Senator Clinton has been treated,” said diehard Hillary supporter Anita Baath. “A typical under-appreciative male, Obama showed her absolutely no respect during the VP selection process. Sure, I have no knowledge of that process at all, but I know for a fact that it was quite disrespectful to Senator Clinton because she wasn’t selected. It’s the same way that we know that the primary process wasn’t fair because she did not win.”
Underlying the seething anger of Clinton supporters is a sense of fairness. The Democratic party had treated their candidate, and by extension them, unfairly and now the only fair way to redress this slight is to disrupt the convention and potentially cost the Democrats the White House and their majorities in both houses of Congress. Late Tuesday night, word spread through the convention that the remaining Hillary hold-outs might be willing settle for a blanket apology or, failing that, Clay Aiken tickets.
“I’m still so outraged that the person with the second-most votes wasn’t allowed to win that I’m going to vote Republican,” said Baath. “Sure, that will probably mean an end to reproductive rights and civil liberties as we know them, but so what. I wasn’t using them much, anyway.”

The convention had been pretty dull, I’m told, till Hillary showed up. I’ll bet Michelle wishes she could have gotten cheers like that.
However, there is a DNC rule that says if 20% of a candidate’s delegates sign a petition for a roll call vote, it must happen. This means that Hillary needs 826 of her delegates to sign this petition
I’m puzzled about this – 826 is about 20% of the TOTAL # of delegates; 20% of Hillary’s delegates would be more like half that number – is there a typo in there somewhere?

After Hillary’s speech i kept having a hard time getting a word in edgewise here, so I just shut down my computer and tried to shut down emotionally but I couldn’t. Instead, I broke down and cried my eyes out and let it all out. My mentor is a tribal elder and spiritual leader who came over and we talked until i could see peace and purpose and order of the universe again.
Then, as usual, my ‘delayed reaction syndrome’ kicked in and I was rmembering things that stuck in my subconscience.
Now I know that clintons have political power . It occurred to me that perhaps it was Bill Clinton’s orders controlling the camera during her speech. Pictures of him, pictures of MO seemed to reveal unspoken truths.
Her delegates were not released.
MO was not happy and the look on Bill’s face was kind of a ‘just wait’ look.
Did anyone else have these feelings or is it just me?

More importantly I think what I’m witnessing — is an undercurrent sense that you all feel beaten down by this as if you’re trying to come to grips with the fact that Obama won. He hasn’t won. He lost (even if he was to get the nomination — he’s already lost). But I just want to remind everyone that he hasn’t gotten the nomination yet. IT AIN’T OVER UNTIL THE LADY IN THE PANTSUIT SINGS.
I realize that Clinton said to support Obama — but her support was so incredibly tepid… but yet her speech was incredibly strong on the points that if we’re being attacked… we need to fight… we need to keep going. And ya never know… tomorrow when we wake up… there just could be some miracle waiting for us. So get some rest. Rejuvinate your strength… and let’s listen to this wise woman and keep fighting.

I assure you that FOX is the least biased channel out there, contrary to propoganda on the far left. Greta, you got it right – we are FURIOUS and what none of the tv pundits seem to realize is that we (Hillary voters) are unifying to use our votes, now for McCain, as PROTEST votes against what the DNC did (ignoring all the media sexism and making superdelegates terrified of being called racist if they voted for Hillary) and how Obama CHEATED the caucus system. Your producers can find any Hillary voter from a caucus state to tell you about the fraud and horrors of what went on there.
Why is Obama tied/losing to McCain in the polls? Because he won REPUBLICAN CAUCUS STATES ONLY. Can anyone on tv point this out please. Name one blue state in which he beat Hillary!!!!
