Here is the first of our official announcements for Denver. We will be updating all evening. The following is a press release from Dr. Saharra’s group, The Rise 2008. Spread the word far and wide!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Ms. Genie Johndrow Email address: _therise2008@yahoo.com_ (mailto:therise2008@yahoo.com) Web Site: therise2008.com Candle Lights Set to Rise In Commemoration of Hillary Clinton’s Historic Presidential Campaign! THE RISE 2008, an event slated to honor Hillary Clinton’s Historic
Campaign will take place on the evening of August 25th from 6 until 10 p.m., in beautiful downtown Denver’s Cheesman Park. What makes this historical event special, isn’t just that its named after the Maya Angelou’s famous poem “Rise," but that it will also close with the lighting of candles to pay tribute to Hillary and all of her achievements, while also symbolically reigniting the flame to America’s great Democracy and Lady Liberty’s torch. Hundreds of participants are expected to attend, and candles are planned to Rise across the nation, community by community in one harmonious gesture of participation. The Rise 2008 is being hosted by Rise International, a group of women whose common bond in supporting Hillary Clinton drew them together over the internet. While they haven’t physically ever met, they have spent weeks on both the computer and over the phone in planning this entire event. What started out as a great idea was just that -a great idea- until PUMA PAC, (People United Means Action), the group noted for their commitment to Hillary Clinton, agreed to sponsor The Rise, and now there’s no looking back. Dr. Bledsoe has no doubt that this will be a marvelous occasion for everyone who has worked on behalf of Hillary Clinton, as well as all her supporters/fans who just believe and appreciate our Liberty and Democracy will all have an opportunity to come together and enjoy an evening of festivities. It's been a real journey to put this event together, but thanks to the tremendous support from The City of Denver and the real sense of neighborly care and concern from the various vendors, Dr. Bledsoe states that its seems like all we are really going to have to worry about is the weather. This is a free event and all Hillary supporters/fans are welcome. PumaPac activities in the park will begin at 2p.m. and run until 6 p.m. The Rise speakers and entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 10 p.m., with the national “Rise” candle salute to Hillary, Democracy and Lady Liberty to Kickoff in Cheesman Park at exactly 9:45 MDT.

Number two again thats twice
Snowtiger, do you have to hog up all the top spots?
I just received an email from Michael Moore (sicko). It’s all about who should be BO’s vp pick. He’s trying to convince Caroline Kennedy that, get this, she should put her name in for vp.
If he’s thinking that the Kennedy name can carry the ticket…NOT! The Kennedy dynasty is fading into the sunset.
Yes I am male. I eat all the pork chops, drink all the beer and get out in front of the pics.
Then I burp loudly and laugh about it.
gojoyknocks…where are you?
What conference call?
I think it is important that we all understand what supporting Senator Clinton means. That means that in good times and bad, we will support her. She has done so for us and will continue to do so for us. Please do not allow others to think that you just support her and not the Democratic Platform that I believe many of you were an intricate part of writing.
I think it is important that if Hillary chooses to be VP as a result of it being offered to her, that we support her in that measure. Do not place the conditions on her that you would place on a child, as she is not one. She is well aware of what saying “yes” will mean. She is a very smart woman.
However, saying “no” would mean that if the Republicans come out with something that completely damages Barack, and is a violation of the Charter, he can be dismissed. That is her in, do you want her to pass that up?
Please support HILLARY. NOT, HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT.
Does anyone else have trouble reading the large type printed on the top of the thread? Mine cuts off each line on the right side.
Murphy,
That is a beautiful post.

You would fit well with all the women in my family!
Another quick question: Several days ago when we all sent Geraldine Ferraro a thank you note I had the impression there was some agenda beyond just thanking her that would soon be revealed. Has it been revealed and I just missed it, or what? I’m rushing around today, so unable to read each post from downstairs, so sorry if I’m asking about something that’s already been addressed. If so, ignore.

Yes, we’re waiting.

Yes. I had to move the horizontal and vertical slide bars to get the entire text as I read.
all credit for poster to DWP — isnt it lovely?
I will fix the text now Anna 7000 — I was being lazy and trying to get away with not re-typing it
#14 Anna7000
If there was a hidden agenda, I missed it too.
What a wonderful poster, I love it…..and that email is just so heartwarming! I have the warm fuzzies.
And what Paul, will it mean when “O” loses? What will it mean when he goes down with Hillary on the ticket?
The hope that the DNC will finally vet “O” is a faint one at best. They have no intention of taking him off the top.
Imagine the response from his supporters. Take him of the top after receiving the coronation, place Hillary in her rightful place and you are guaranteed a loss in November.
We either get it done at the convention or not at all.
#10 PaulHillary,
OK, that makes sense. If she accepts VP, I will support her until election day. If she has not had to step in as the nominee by then, I will vote for McCain. I will never vote for Barack Obama. My feeling is, he is even more dangerous to this country than GWB, if that is possible.
Dances - Gorgeous gorgeous poster!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations, DWP, for creating such a sleek poster.
PUMA ALERT PUMA ALERT
I just want you to know that the impact of the Hardball show is still be heard.
Here is another new member who said
“Thank you so much for all that you are doing, all the time you are spending, and your stellar debating skills when dealing with thugs like David Shuster. It was that
interview that influenced me to join PUMA and make a donation. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don’t make much $, and gave every last cent ($250) to Clinton, but I will scrape more for you.
The poster is great and the color combo grabs your attention—especially the gold oval around the PUMA PAC Logo. Great job DWP!
5 minutes to ED Hale’s show where David Fredosso who wrote the case Against Obama is supposed to be on.

#13 Carrie,
Yeeehaw.
I am moving to Texas then.
I was an urban cowboy in the 80s so I can adjust real easy.
Btw did you see my last post to you about making a video for the boys?
The one using Princes of the Universe, by queen.
Would be cool if you had the time.
I get so frustrated with my posts because I press down on the Shift key for caps but my touch is so light that 70% of the time it does not register. Arggggggh
But to tell her not to do what the party asks is not in her best interest either. She is damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. I think people lose sight of the fact that Hillary is a Politician. Personal attacks of me are not going to help the situation. She is attempting to do what is best for the party, the platform, and the down ballot tickets. Do not assume that Hillary is the only one contemplating what is going to take place. Also, it is essential that everyone stop placing conditions on your support for her. She has to do what she has to do! I will support her no matter what she chooses to do, because I trust her judgement and that is why I vote, work for, and supported her bid for presidency. Further, I would not have voted for her if I did not trust her judgement, and it seems as though some are questioning that these days.
Murphy - Ugh. Wish you didn’t have to re-type the text. I posted a couple of times downstairs an offer to help in any way I’m able. If that was something I could have done, I would have done it for you. You could have just sent the text to me as an e-mail attachment. Sometimes it’s so easy to get running around so fast and furious it’s hard to stop and think of things you could delegate to others…feels like it’s quicker to just do yourself. But, seriously, think about it and if there are any tasks, large or small, that someone like myself can help with long distance, just say the word and I’ll do whatever I can. You all need to be as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as possible when you hit Denver. I hate to think of you all getting too drained in the days leading up to it. Please don’t hesitate to post a HELP WANTED sign!
That poster is gorgeous. Is it for sale anywhere? BTW, does Dr. Bledsoe hold a political office? Would she consider running for office? She’s acquired a ton of fans who would be glad to support her. This sounds like it is going to be a very peaceful and very powerful event.

jbjd is looking for you.
Please email her at: her name twice at g mail.
#21 antifish,
That would give “O’ a false bump in the polls. If he can get Hillarys supporters to to support him, even only temporarily, it could suppress voter turnout.
Hillary on the bottom is meaningless. He would never allow her any power.
KENTUCKY PUMAS
jbjd is looking for you.
Please email her at: her name twice at g mail.
I just heard from Sandipuma…she hopes to be on the blog later!
#29 Paul, I apologize if anything I wrote appeared to be a personal attack. I t wasn’t meant that way.
I just think it would be a very bad thing for Hillary to accept the VP slot. She needs to lead a clean up of the DNC.
Paul - I don’t think it’s as clear cut as people trusting or not trusting Senator Clinton’s judgement. I think there have been many junctures along this road we’re on where decisions were made that we all have/had different feelings about. Now that it’s coming down to the wire, the emotions are mounting and pressure is rising. I, for one, never feel a need to trust any polician in some kind of a blank check way. That’s part of what is so freaky about a lot of Obama’s supporters. I think a person can support a leader like Senator Clinton AND also take issue with some of the choices she’s made AND empathize with the situation she is in.
I am reposting this from downstairs, because it is very important for me that everybody might read my encouragements, and receive my best wishes for Denver :
My dear friends,
It is so exciting to watch you get ready for Denver…
I want to send you my best wishes from France and tell you good luck.
You must feel so impatient now that the great moment has almost arrived !
I would have liked so much to be with you and to live this historical moment with you …
But as I can’t be in Denver, I’m doing my best here to contribute to the cause, trying to continue to inform everybody in France of what is going on in your country…
I’ve also sent a message to the Friends of Hillary to tell her that we all want her to continue the fight at the convention…
My dear, dear PUMAS, Thank you so much for your great courage, your resilience, your enthusiasm, your fighting spirit. The way you have behaved during this summer will remain a lesson for everybody. Never losing hope, always in a good mood even when the news were not so good.
Thank you, thank you for everything ! I will never forget what you have done for Hillary ! You are so GREAT !
People in France are on your side !

LOL I am in Indiana my sister is in Texas! I got your email and would be more than happy to do one for the guys if anyone is interested. Anything I can do!
#37 Well said Anna.
Snowtiger, or shall I say, Mr. Tiger, How I wish Senator Clinton would lead a “clean up” of the DNC. In my view, she’s quite entrenched in the DNC. It’s a very very rare leader who breaks away from the fold and in so doing, essentially, risks everything, to start a new course. Likely their political demise, though it might be heroic. Wish it weren’t so, but that’s how I see it. But then, I’m a cynic.
The poster is gorgeous. Kudos to the artist.
If any of you watched Lou Dobbs tonight (I apologize if I am behind on the last thread) but there was some strong negative commentary about BO’s polling numbers edging downward and McCain’s rising. Can you hear the thunder in the distance, BO? It’s the sound of the paws of PUMAs…
————-
Again, I don’t have to obey Hillary. I don’t have to support a man who is so clearly unqualified, and who has distracted our Congress so much with his glory-seeking campaign that it has paralyzed them to the degree where they have produced the least legislation in 20 years (reference: Lou Dobbs) and now have an approval rating of 14-16%. That’s less than the prez.
They have been so busy avoiding any legislation that could be credited to the current administration, and to prevent embarrassing BO, that they have truly hurt America when it has needed intervention so profoundly. Shame on them all.

Just listening to that No Name MSM - and they think that on the shortest short list is Joe Biden for No Name - Joe Liberman (sp) for McCain -

It is hard I understand. The movements have gotten much bigger than her. But please keep your message in support of her as she is doing everything she can to support each one of us. She is an amazing woman and will keep fighting for the right things.
Ms. Gandalf - I think someone already posted downstairs that Biden is a “no”. But, don’t quote me. This is how rumors are perpetuated.
#40 Caracl Carrie. Indiana? . I have two ex girlfriends in Indiana. One is a charming lovely woman I would love to get back with the other is Mrs Right. First name always.
I’ll go to Texas.
Seriously, only if you have the time. I would do it myself but, I have not the skills.
Very nice poster, Dances. As usual. :8
For future reference and to give Murphy a rest when she needs it most, IF Murphy ever does something that was most likely a scan to the computer, the full text can be extracted by anyone with a simple copy and post to a word program.
Anna I was like ( what the….?) first time I saw something like this from her too.
Delphine, you are a PUMA, and you are with us. You have done an amazing job with your own website to reach out and convey the truth. In this world of cyberspace, we may not see our faces, but we see our souls, and yours is beautiful.

You sound very knowledgable and like you are on the inside. You make a very good case, but while we love Hillary, we do not want to vote for Obama. But, continue making your case and you may gain some converts.
Paul - Your passion and commitment are truly beautiful. But, in truth, I have no idea what Senator Clinton is doing in support of “us”. I assume she’s doing what any savy politician operating at her level of power would do, what they think is in the best interests of their political future. Whether her political future includes us or not remains to be seen. If we are, indeed, a small group and perceived as expendable, then….
And yes, she is amazing. That’s why we’re all here doing what we’re doing, at least in part.
As for fighting for the “right things”. Very very subjective notion.
But, I think we’re all unified in our belief that Clinton is the only choice for POTUS and that Obama is not.
#42 MS. Anna7000,
You are right. It would be a dangerous course for Hillary.
I can dream though.

MURPHY?
Hey everyone. Thanks for the tip on how to read the whole text. Will go do right now!
I want you all to understand I take what you say to our morning meetings. I tell the what you think, what you hear, and what you see. There are some with a direct line to Hillary sitting there. I find it important to blog with you because you all have feelings and they are getting hurt by what campaigns, people, and events are saying and doing. Do not fret, Hillary will not back down and continue to fight for you. She is not going to be pushed around my ANYONE. Least of all someone who cannot do anything to her, just remember that. She is a POWERFUL woman in New York, Nationally, and on the world stage!
#29 PaulHillary
I don’t think we are placing conditions on our support of her. I will support her entire career no matter what she does. She is one hell of a woman and the smartest politician I have ever paid attention to.
If she needs to make hard choices for her career- then I understand, and I understand that I might never know what the reasons behind her choices were, or what she was truly up against in private.
BUT—– this movement is about the democratic party- not JUST about her. I will not and cannot EVER vote for Obama, no matter who is running with him.
AND, I will not ever support the democratic party again if they don’t come clean and treat the convention fairly, and become the party that I could trust to count the votes and pay attention to their own people.
Hillary does what she needs to do, and we do what we need to do. We are all hoping that those two things end up being one and the same!

Dances,
That’s a very beautiful graphic you’ve created for PUMAs. EXCELLENT!!!!!
Here is an interesting article that dares to address the racial issue:
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=5598010&page=1
What strikes me most about the demographics of the parties cited in the article is that the Democrats have no strategy to maximize the benefits of their diversity. Voter registration is not a problem, it is voter participation.
The article does not address gender. I was given to understand that the Democrtic party was 54% female. It is just stupid of BO to believe he could win if he discounted females. But then, they are only 36% of the SD. No where is sexism more obvious than in the gender distribution of the SD vote (at campaign suspension):
Obama - Female 156, Male 327
Clinton - Female 125, Male 132
Undecided – Female 26, Male 55
The sexism is in the Democratic Party. So why should they stop the media?
Howard Dean is stupid.

Times/Bloomberg poll Obama loses 12% points
Experience a key John McCain advantage in new L.A. Times/Bloomberg poll
When last we had a L.A. Times/Bloomberg poll to peruse, the result that stood out (aside from Barack Obama’s 12-percentage point lead over John McCain in a head-to-head match-up) was what we termed the “passion gap” — a marked difference in enthusiasm levels that favored the Democrat in the June survey.
The new, just-released poll not only shows the race between the two dramatically tightening — into a virtual dead heat
http://countusout.wordpress.com/
Hi all, I don’t know if you are watching FOX or not, but some of the pictures of McCain returning from Hanoi Hilton - I have about 60 pics from Hanoi Hilton, the plane trip to Clarke AFB, while they were there and then some of when the POWs got to finally go home. They are “originals”!!! We were stationed there. I didn’t get to see the POWs though - family and military only!!
Paul: You mean the so-called Democratic Platform where they flat out ignored the notion of getting rid of caucuses? Where they put women almost dead last (on like pg 50 of 56)? I’m sorry, but the Democratic Party has left the voters behind.
I will support Senator Clinton if she chooses to stay in the Senate (voting for McCain of course), and I will support Senator Clinton if she chooses to go for the Presidency. But I will not support Senator Obama as President NO MATTER WHO the VP is, including Hillary Clinton.
It’s more than about Obama vs Hillary. It’s about my country and the democratic principle itself. I cannot support a candidate who cheated as flagrantly as he has in the caucuses, who flat out bribed Superdelegates for votes. If the Democratic Party doesn’t listen to our voices, they will hear our votes in November.
Some people on this site might support Hillary as VP, but I won’t. That would be saying women should take second place when they were virtually tied vote-wise.
Hillary will take whatever path she needs to politically, and if she chooses to go for VP, I will not hold it against her in the future, and that’s the best I can say.
Delphine welcome!
I was able to figure that much out
I tried sending you an email and it said I had an invalid address

I am making a PUMA video for Denver.
You can send me a pic, a message, some kind of graphic, or a combination of any of that. It is ok to send a personal pic, but it doesnt have to be one. It doesnt cost anything at all.
I will put them all together in a video to be played in Denver.
Send anything you want me to add to

Thank you !
Thank you for your very kind, comforting words…
I hope you are fine. I haven’t had the opportunity to speak to you recently…
PaulHillary,
Were you the “Paul” who called into No We Won’t Talk Radio a couple of weeks ago? In your post #60 you mentioned “morning meetings.” The caller I am referencing worked for or with “Friends of Hillary.”
Just curious.
Essentially what I am saying is that she will do what the people want her to do. With the letters and posts we received, I am sure it will be positive. Yes, you are a movement, but that movement needs to prove that you are doing something more than degrading a candidate by saying if she’s this then yes. If not, then no. I support Hillary and not what is taking place. But I saw it over a year ago. She tried to win despite all the odds. She has chosen NOT to expose them up until now. I hope that you all will do the same and support her it was a hard fought battle. She is fighting for soldiers and others now, do not deny what you have seen in the past from a true leader.
Snowtiger…another trick. know those tiny keychain flashlights? take out the batteries and they’re great for a small amount of cash
PaulHillary… you are an insider in the campaign??
LOL snow I dont care if they call me menopausal!!
They arent hot flashes they are Power surges!
Yep 1 and the same!
Oh help….just read on Yahoo that Nader said Obama will pick Clinton if he is smart. Just reading this makes me sick. Gotta go take care of mother in law now. Hope he is wrong …oh please be wrong!!!!
BigCatLover - We ARE supporting her. Lord, can you imagine having your e-mail box filled with letters saying how we want her to be our nominee, how she is the only qualified candidate, how passionately we support her, how hard we’ve worked for her and continue to advocate for her? But, we’re not robots. Many of us have drawn a line in the sand which we will not cross. And, we’ve let her know that too. I don’t think that takes away from supporting her. It simply reflects that we are independent, thoughtful beings who will not follow endlessly, anywhere without stopping where we feel we need to stop and say, “I can go no futher if this is the way things stand.”

Thank you Anna7000 - They did show Sen Biden in his car driving out of his driveway making that statement to the reporters - however - later on in the piece was when they “spread that rumor” that I mentioned above.
Please understand that delegates are calling all day every day trying to get her to change course. WE all want her to as well, I hope she does. If not we must fight to change caucuses to primaries and not deny ANYONE in the future.
I think we need some of the top part made to carry in the march!
#84 Anna7000
No need to get upset with me. I was just trying to alert everyone that Paul is with the campaign which he has now confirmed. That’s all.
Gotta go. Last comment for now:
Paul, not sure who you are. The internet is a strange place. Many personas. Many claims to anything. No disrespect meant at all. But, in truth, few of us have any clue who the other really is. This is the nature of this sort of context of communication and relationship. Not much different if someone calls into a show and says they are so and so. In any case, I doubt Hillary Clinton makes major decisions based on what she may or may not read on a blog.
Well friends of…not really the campaign…he he
Paul: I want to apologize. My vitriol is toward the Democratic Party, not towards you.
Senator Clinton has done a world of good for us in the Senate, I know that she will continue to do so even if she remains a Senator.
I think a lot of the “degrading” comes from the fact that we are faced everyday with media worship and being called horrible names when we voiced our support for Senator Clinton.
snowtiger were you/are you a cop? You talk like one. (:
37 Anna7000 ~~~ Thank you…I think that’s a very healthy attitude.
PaulHillary. Thank you for all you’ve done for Senator Clinton. I for one will stand with her whatever she decides to do going forward. I have written her a number of times to advise her of that fact. BUT, I cannot in all good conscience, and will not support BO for the presidency. My country comes before any Party interests or political agendas. That’s my bottom line and not even Senator Clinton could sway me from it.
#82 PaulHillary,
So you work with “Friends for Hillary?” Many of us that listened to your comments that night on Blog Radio wondered what happened after you called in. I did not catch the show live, but heard the re-broadcast. You garnered a lot of attention that night.
b>PaulHillary
You have a very persuasive reverse psychological mannerism. One of our senior Pumas said recently that our posts are read and that it isn’t always what is “said”, but what “isn’t” said. You obviously approach the situation about why “we” should vote differently. Don’t you think that maybe “you” are the one that needs to change opinions? We’d more than happy to provide assistance. IMHO
PAULHILLARY
Please don’t mistake our passion for attack. We respect everyone’s opinion in here and their right to choose.
If you are the Paul we heard on blogradio, please know that what you conveyed that evening made a huge dent in my despair. I respect that you take the time to be involved with us and this long hard mission.
I guess we could be likened to parents wanting only the best for our kids and communicating that to the best of our ability.
It is very very frustrating to not be able to do that with Hillary. We see her (because no one tells us differently) jumping off a cliff and we want to spare her. I personally think she is the best thing to come along in politics in what seems like forever and I want to support her…. unfortunately, it can’t be unconditionally where this man is concerned.
That is my choice because I just see doom. She deserves the best……….but so do we
BigCatLover - Not made at you. Words on the page without the benefit of seeing the other’s face and body language can come of differently than intended. Sorry. As for Paul confirming who he is, I don’t consider anyone stating anything in a context like this to be a confirmation of much, and I mean no disrespect. But, I gotta be a discerning consumer of information and a context like this doesn’t meet my own standard for assurance about anyone. (P.S. Still not mad at you! Though you may be feeling a bit mad at me!)
First and foremost she doesnt read a blog. WE have a whole delegate team that listens (just as a constituent service team does). We meet every morning that lets everyone else know what the “pulse” is. Do not be fooled everyone is listening.
#93 PaulHillary
Those of us who listened to the radio show know who you are with. I’ll let you choose whether or not to say, but I was afraid the next day after the show that you might lose your job. Apparently, you are ok. Good to know.

Paul, I respect your point of view. We are all in this because we support Hillary Clinton. That being said, I for one cannot support an Obama presidency - even if Ms. Clinton is the VP. I hope she passes that cup by, it is a losing ticket. It’s either the top for 08 or 12.
I got my black shirt in the mail today. Going to wear it to nursing home to visit Mother in law. All I can say is I
would do anything for Hillary except vote for Obama. He is not the person I want in the White House. I do not trust him or believe him. This all makes me so upset. I will say my prayers and wait for Hillary to make her move. I really want to watch her accept the nomination.
#78 Paulhillary,
I will continue to support HRC and her agenda. I see her as one of the few people in public life who could assume control of the executive branch and lead our country in these troubling times.
I realize that she is a politician and must act within the political structure. However, I find her lifelong integrity to overshadow that.
My objection to her being vp is more than opposition to “O”. I believe Hillary would be shuttled off to the background.
No one votes the bottom of the ticket. Remember Dan Quayle?
We need Hillary to be active. If not as president then as a senator.
I will support Hillary irregardless of her decision on the vp issue. However I will be voting for a president come November. Not a vice president.

PaulHillary - Even our love and loyalty to our family members is conditional–everyone should be honest in their hearts about that. At some point in every relationship there is a fracture point, no matter how deep the commitment. Hillary is a politician, and one of the most brilliant and devoted we’ve ever seen. We want to believe she is still fighting the good fight for America (and specifically her supporters), but to align herself in this political orbit with such an obvious glory-seeker creates that fracture for many of us. A crack of concern appears. It rings of insincerity, and that bothers the HECK out of a lot of us. I’d rather she blow them all out of the water and tell them to do something unmentionable to themselves, but she has too much class.
But no one can dictate to another how to have faith in a system that has behaved so horribly to her and to women everywhere. It’s personal.
Hi #74Taffy !
Well, I don’t understand. You’re supposed to have my e-mail address, as we exchanged mails recently ! I wonder what went wrong…
But I’m happy that you are here tonight, because, I want to tell you I am preparing an article which will include some suggestions you sent me a few days ago.
If you are interested, I’ve just finished writing an article which deals with Obama’s visible ignorance on Georgia : it was one of IndyPuma’s suggestions : she advised me to include the video which makes him look so stupid when he speaks about Georgia and Ossetia. I’m sure a lot of French Internauts will be amazed when they discover these images…
If you are want to have a look at my article :
http://hillary.meilleur.choix.qu-obama.over-blog.com/
You can also read yesterday’s post : this was about you, Pumas… Just to remind everybody that 18 million voices cannot be only “symbolic” !
Paul, Obama is wrong for our country in every conceivable way. Putting Hillary on the ticket can’t change that.
I did a lot of soul searching regarding a Obama-Clinton ticket. At first I thought maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Hillary would be in the White House. If something happened to Obama, Hillary would inherit the Presidency. Maybe it made sense.
Finally I realized that Obama would hurt Hillary too badly. He has too much baggage. His behavior and judgment are beyond despicable. He would contaminate Hillary like the most toxic and corrosive substance on the planet. And frankly, I would fear for her safety every day, because Obama is so ruthless and nasty.
If Obama is the nominee, I will vote for McCain. Hillary can run again in 2012. I’ll support her then.

…If not we must fight to change caucuses to primaries and not deny ANYONE in the future.
—————————————-
Absolutely! That’s a big part of the reason many of us are here and continue to fight this fight (in addition to keeping the faith for Hillary to be POTUS). Clean up the nominating process, major overhaul needed! We will accept nothing less from the Democratic Party going forward.
Further, I do not get mad about what a group or constituent says to me. I have had many of Baracks people call me and tell me to go home. If you should doubt who I am, please believe that you can reach out to me when I come to your booth at the convention. I will also be meeting Will (with the hopes that we get out of here early enough tomorrow) for drinks after work with the rest of the office. I just wonder if I will be blogging with any of you after the convention if she is not involved. I will have to go back to fighting the people of New York for money…. :o)

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it at least 7 times:
Senator Clinton as VP to Obama’s Presidency
would be the equivalent of
Edgar Bergen as VP to Charlie McCarthy’s Presidency.
Dummies should never lead the brilliant.
PaulHillary,
If you can get one thing across to Hillary, I hope that you can convey to her all the love and support that we have for her! WE LOVE YOU HILLARY!! We want to hear that THE BITCH IS BACK!! LOL
Just heard that Lieberman is believed to be McCain’s top pic for VP. On news right now. CNN PDT. Since the news has been saying all day that O is announcing his VP tonight or tomorrow by cell phone (supposedly), the McCain campaign is stealing the thunder (my opinion). This is very laughable. The Democratic Party (progressives) hit Lieberman pretty bad last Fall so there’s no love loss there. Interesting combo if its true.
Delphine, I have been adjusting to the different time zones between France and America. Only been back about a week and had to start teaching last week, deep in the heart of Obamaland. Been holding my precious first petit fille in Arras and helping my daughter recover from her C-section. Gosh! I miss the cheese and yogurt aisles of the markets there…..but mostly my family.
Best to you—I always enjoy your comments.

I want to say Everything that you just said (with exclamation marks)
Lisa and Snowtiger - Maybe a great distraction for those of us not going to Denver but without the emotional strength to watch the convention can start a game:
Are you a __________? Then, of course, there’s the true answer and the blog persona answer, which leads to the next response from the one who asked:
I do / do not believe you!
#10 PaulHillary: Yeah I was thinking the same thing. And I will support Hillary if she takes VP because it could make it possible for her to step into the Presidential space, right up until the point where I am forced to vote for BO and then I will mark my ballot for McCain. Can you imagine how a pollster would ever get that sort of information using their carefully worded questions! “Yes I would support Hillary as Dem VP however I will not vote for her for VP”.
I have no doubt people are listening to Puma. For months I have been reading on this blog - Obama can not speak without a teleprompter– Today on two different networks on TV I heard McCain supporters ribbing Obama supporters about O not being able to speak without his teleprompter- NO DOUBT PEOPLE ARE LISTENING.
Murphy and all
Beautiful poster and your daily thank you from me.
The calendar for the Rise event in Denver is great. I’m sending it to friends in the Colorado area.
I will not lose my job!!!! I gather info here and take it into the office and tell people. They often listen and take notes. You guys are constituents, not just PUMA’s. We have to listen you vote! Thanks for the legs up on stuff….He he you make me look good
Paul: I will be here after the convention.
Scenario #1: Hillary wins the nomination. I will be working hard to ensure her Presidency.
Scenario #2: Nobama wins the nomination. I will be working hard to ensure he doesn’t win the Presidency.
I LOVE reading these posts! You guys are great…really.
I’m tired, again. Been up playing at getting lodging, once again, of Denver. But I’m around and working still.
In so far as supporting HRC: I thnk that it goes back to the original diversity of this blog. Everyone has their own opinion and are entitled to them. Our common thread is thinking she was cheated out of the proper nomination as mandated by the people and corrupted by the DNC. That has lead us to declaring we will not support Obama as the best candidate. So far as I know, other than these and working to bring about change in the corrupt DNC by toppling their new king, I think we all are accepting of the diverse opinions in regards to every other aspect to this election held by each PUMA, as we should be, in that variety we represent the truth of America.
Personally, I was staunchly against Senator Clinton as VP. Said I’d never vote for Obama even if…then I thought about it recently. If she were selected it would be, obviously in direct opposition to what Obama wants. I think that would denote a real victory for PUMAs, even though that was never our goal. I also think I’d not be able to NOT support Hillary. I think if Obama failed with her on his ticket she woulddefinitely be made the scape-goat. So, I am not hoping he names her, but I think I may have come around in my thinking. I will support this woman. ALSO, you KNOW Hill and Bill are NOT going to be silent if this idiot starts proposing things that are dangerous.
That’s just my opinion and I am not trying to persuade anyone to it. Just sharing my thought-process.
I also said I’d never vote for Mccain…again, I find that the progress of the situation makes me have to re-think. It’s one thing to stick to our guns, but in the need to actually cast an effective vote choice, I find myself seriously considering what I may be called on to do in the best interest of my country.
I still hope, of course, that our lady gets the brass ring. Then everything would be easy, consciense wise.

Are you a teacher?
Paul if you’re still on…this has gone way beyond Hillary and the DNC. This has become a matter of National Trust. Some laws have been passed which never should have been. Our Constitution and our country are now at risk. We stand a very good chance of going the way of the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, etc. if the wrong person is in power. At this point I DO NOT feel comfortable having Barack Obama in the position of power to move this country along. He has admitted in articles he can’t stand a slow pace…he wants to keep moving. We need a true and steady course to get back on track. Outside of the unanswered questions, I don’t feel he has the patience necessary to rebuild our country!

So now they are trying to find a way that women can’t vote against them. Dream on old men! Your going DOWN!

I don’t post very often but I watch and listen–to what is said and not said, by all. You said before to support Hillary. I did not see you say “Vote for Obama.” Am I correct?
Fox’s report on McCain they are doing right now does not show him in a very good light. I wonder why they did a better one on BO?
PAUL -
Perhaps you should copy our responses and take them into your meeting tomorrow.
Lots of passion, love, committment, loyalty, and GOOD explanation of where we all stand.

If you are indeed gathering information here and passing it on, you’re welcome to copy the following two letters I’ve already faxed to Hillary at Friends of Hillary. I’m not sure they were received. But if you hand-deliver them, I know they’ll get attention.
Thank you for representing us.
*******************
My August 14 letter to Hillary
Dear Hillary,
I’m thrilled to learn this morning that your name will be placed in nomination at the convention. That’s the best news I’ve heard since you suspended your campaign.
My letter today is largely a repeat of what I sent you two days ago. Today I’m writing with a special request that you forward copies of my letter to as many delegates and superdelegates as possible. I, too, will be contacting delegates and superdelegates, but I can’t reach them as quickly or effectively as you can. By working together, we can get the word out to as many people as possible.
Delegates and superdelegates need our encouragement and support against the overwhelming pressure they must be under to vote to Obama. You are by far the best candidate for President. If you are not our nominee, my friends and I will have to vote for John McCain in November. There’s nothing anyone can say or do that would convince us to vote for Obama.
My friends and I gave Obama fair consideration in the beginning. There was a time we favored a Clinton-Obama ticket. There was a time we might have voted for Obama if you asked us to. All of that is gone. The more we see Obama and listen to Obama, the more we dislike and distrust him. Most of my friends and I describe him as “scary.”
We don’t want Obama anywhere near the White House, where he will undoubtedly bring ruin to the United States. We don’t want him anywhere near you either, where he would undoubtedly ruin your political career. Even if you were nominated on the condition that you take Obama as your Vice President, I wouldn’t be comfortable. You don’t need to be tarnished by Obama’s considerable baggage. And I would fear for your safety daily, knowing how desperate Obama is to become President no matter what it takes.
There are many reasons why I won’t vote for Obama … and why I will instead vote for John McCain in November if Obama is the nominee. For the sake of brevity, I’ll cite only my top four … the real deal-breakers, the ones that no one, not even you, can argue against.
First came the Reverend Wright story. It’s human nature to embrace the attitudes of others around us when we want to fit in, to belong, and to be liked. Thus there’s every reason to believe that Obama embraces the hateful teachings of Revered Wright, despite his insistence to the contrary.
I find Obama to be dismissive of everyone and everything that doesn’t serve his immediate interests. I first noticed this when he refused to do additional debates with you, even though voters in upcoming primaries wanted to hear more debates. But now I see it in all of his actions. It was the same trait I saw in George Bush in 2000. It’s that very same dismissive tendency that led us into this horrible Iraq war. Obama would be just as dangerous to America and the world as George Bush is.
Throughout the primary season, Obama kept saying, “I welcome that debate with John McCain.” Yet he has repeatedly refused to do the ten town hall debates that John McCain proposed and that many voters would like to see. This, more than anything, reveals to me Obama’s character. It tells me he’s not a man of his word, that he cannot and will not reach across the aisle to work with Republicans, and that he doesn’t believe in transparency in government. It tells me that he fears John McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his rhetoric. And it tells me that he’s afraid to speak without a teleprompter and the scripted words of the DNC puppet masters.
Finally, I think Obama as President would spell economic disaster for the United States. I began fearing his economic policies when I saw how he would often outspend you by two-, three-, or four-to-one, but you consistently got more votes per dollar spent. Much fuss has been made about your campaign debt, but you know how to “do more with less.” John McCain, too, knows how to do more with less. He was nearly counted out last summer, yet he came back to win his party’s nomination on a shoestring budget.
Meanwhile, I see Obama spending obscene amounts of money on things that do little more than feed his ego (e.g., repainting his airplane and creating a phony presidential seal he had to abandon because of so much negative publicity). Obama spends money recklessly, as do many people who suddenly come into unearned wealth. I fear that he would be extremely wasteful with taxpayer money, and that America and Americans alike would be plunged into far greater debt than we have ever seen if Obama were President.
I understand the party line about how McCain’s position on many issues is different from yours and perhaps not what Democrats want. However, I see John McCain as a reasonable man of good character who can work across party lines for win-win solutions. I see Obama as a man of very bad character who cannot be trusted on any issue and who strictly plays win-lose. A McCain presidency would be far better than an Obama presidency in every conceivable way.
Again, please forward my letter to as many delegates and superdelegates as you can. That will help me reach a bigger audience than I can on my own.
Thank you for your consideration.
*******************
My August 17 letter to Hillary
Dear Hillary,
I’m troubled by rumors that you will release your delegates to Obama at the convention before the roll call vote. I’m equally disturbed by numerous reports of delegates being paid, pressured, or threatened to vote for Obama rather than vote their conscience or vote in accordance with the popular vote in their districts, as they are supposed to do.
I know that you are doing and saying what you must for now. And I pray that you will accept the nomination if you get enough votes, because we truly need you in the White House. Many of us are working very hard behind the scenes to encourage delegates and superdelegates to vote for you. We’re all donating more time, energy, and money than we can afford. And yet, we cannot afford to stand by and do nothing.
Please understand that millions of your supporters will never vote for Obama in November, no matter how much you might encourage us to do so. It has nothing to do with Democrat versus Republican. It’s about electing the best and most qualified person for the job. We aren’t swayed by individual issues, like Roe v. Wade. There are enough checks and balances in the system to protect us. We don’t feel we’re compromising vital goals, like universal healthcare. You could still achieve that working in the Senate, especially with your friend John McCain in the White House.
Your supporters are watching the candidates closely. Over the last few months, we’ve seen more and more to dislike and distrust about Obama. Conversely, in the short time since you suspended your campaign, we’re seeing more and more to like and admire in McCain.
Democratic party leaders would like to believe that we will eventually fall in line and vote for Obama in November. But it’s not going to happen. Every day, a growing number of people recognize that Obama is not right for our country. The Democratic Party cannot win the election with Obama as the nominee. Party leaders need to wake up and acknowledge that they made a mistake before it’s too late.
You are welcome to forward my letter to delegates and superdelegates. My time and money is limited, so I can’t reach as many as I’d like to. Together, we can reach a bigger audience.
Thank you for your consideration.

Welcome to politics. Hillary will do what she has to do. Politics is her life. I have no ill feeling toward her or about her decisions to support O if she must. I don’t think she will be VP. She’s too smart and O doesn’t like that. He’d be overshadowed all the time by her. Hillary will find her place. Let her play the game and move on to something bigger and better for her (2012). There are many ways in the world that one can have an impact. And Hillary will find that way.
Paulhillary,
I will be here. If we pull off the hail mary, then it it will be to support HRC.
If not then to oppose “O” and push for health care reform with the republicans.
If you will be looking for donations to help Hillary maintain her senate seat I will help.
However. I will never vote for an “O’ presidency.
Delphine…thank you. I thought maybe you were upset. You should go to foxnews.com and pull up the videos of the Saddleback Forum. It’s divided into about 4 or 5 videos. BO failed miserably and your viewers could see even from a snippet how he can’t speak as well without preparation and teleprompters!
RE:conference call …I (somehow) was able to get into the call. My take? She’s in it to win it. she did not release her delegates.
Welcome to politics?!?!?! Its been a long time for me! I know how it works, and I will always work for the REAL change person. Don’t ever forget that!
Paul I still wonder if mac is looking at her. Wouldn’t be the first time a cross party ticket and even Kerry considered him! Our country was founded by winner was pres, loser was vp

Biden replied, “Here” and pointed down to his driveway.
As he pulled out of the driveway in the driver’s seat of his car he then said to the press gathered near his gate, “You guys have better things to do. I’m not the guy.”

Nader predicts Obama to pick Clinton
“I don’t think he’s that dumb,” said Nader, commenting on widespread speculation that Obama’s choices are down to Sens. Joe Biden, Evan Bayh, or Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.
The smart pick, according to Nader, is Hillary Rodham Clinton. Nader phoned into Politico Tuesday afternoon to offer his prediction that a surprise nod to Clinton is actually what Obama has in store—never mind the talk of mistrust between the Clintons and Obama.

Thank you for your input. I am about the most unpolitical person I know and Hillary Clinton is amongst the best, so what you say makes sence.
First comes my country and concerns about our political process, in general. I think that most here would consider many options except actually voting for Obama.
I have always admired Hillary Clinton but what I saw in her as she emerged from this primary campaign has impressed me to the point that I feel she has earned loyalty and more.

She’s not giving them up! She’s in it to win it!! Oh so so so happy!!

I can not believe how bad FOX is making McCain look on the Fox special. This looks like it was done by the BO camp.

A lot of “news” being presented here during the past 60 minutes or so, hey PUMAS?
Paul,
I hadn’t read the earlier blogs. So, I agree with you. If I was sitting in the same rooms as you, I’d be thinking the same things you’ve said upstairs. I’m so committed to Hillary that I’m writing her name in on my ballot come Nov. I left the Demcratic Party in March, but I didn’t leave Hillary. At no time have I said I would vote for McCain and that still holds. But I can’t and will not vote for O. He’s wrong for this country and I’m true to my country first. Thanks for your support of Hillary.
I am still thinking about the great poster.
I am usually not an envious gal. However, this time I am at tears because I cannot be with you in Denver.

I’m retired now (at last). They rehired me last year -middle school. But district had to make $2.4 millions in cuts, so the position went to a continuing contracted person (rightly so). Put in 23 yrs with state, but taught other things (college, private lessons, preschool, etc) for many years. Rewarding career. I’m really bummed about the cuts, but things happen for reasons. Have to help my daughter out in Oct. Saw your posts above.
I loved teaching, but the stress was really too much, more with less. Good luck for the coming year. Re: Storms. We’ve had T-storms for 3 days running until today. Very unusual. Love the rain and cooling off today.

FROM NN to these SDs: We know exactly how much money you received from The Hope Fund and Pac to the Future, as well as by what margin your constituents supported Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton over Barack Obama. The people that elected you are also aware that they live in a state in which HillaryClinton won by big margins and they expect their voices and votes to be counted properly by elected representatives such as yourself. Against the will of these people who elected you, you endorsed Barack Obama.
Your constituents, and the American public, will hold you accountable for the choice you make in Denver. You have a duty and a responsibility to represent your constituents. Will you give voice to your constituents by voting for Hillary in Denver?
Please have courage and do what is right at the Convention in Denver by voting for Senator Hillary Clinton. The people of your district and state are depending on you, as is the rest of the country. Nancy Pelosi tells people in Congress to vote based on three C’s: Constituents, Constitution, and Conscience. When you cast your vote as a superdelegate, remember these three C’s, and especially your constituents, without whom you would not hold the awesome position you do today.
This is the most important election we have seen in decades. Please make the right choice.
Bye, Lisa. 6 PM here.
Bill Maher is trying to dig his way out of the whole he put himself in by being such a slime with Hillary. Hmph…..watching Larry King.
Paul….I have given to Hillary til it hurts. My credit cards keep going up but I figure hopefully I will have time to pay them off and it will pay off! I will not support the DNC and I am carefully monitoring who I will vote for in the fall. Some will be Republicans. I happen to be in Colorado and right after the caucus I started writing the SDs. I was NOT impressed with reasons for not committing, and one committed to BO because he liked his talk. That was the most I could get from him. Needless to say, since he is up for reelection I have called his office and let him know he lost my vote since his answer had no substance. I was a Hillary delegate through the state convention and tried for national but my heart wasn’t in it. I knew if they wanted unanimous acclimation I couldn’t do it. I will continue to help Hillary on a personal level because I believe totally in her but I will not generically ever again support the DNC. It will be a candidate by candidate decision, regardless of party! If Hillary manages to pull off the nomination, I will have to dig even deeper to support her. That is the trust I have that my giving will have a return.

CNN poll of polls: Obama lead cut in half
Posted: 07:35 PM ET
From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
A new CNN poll of polls shows Obama’s lead is dwindling.
(CNN) — In what could be an ominous sign for Barack Obama just days before he is formally named the Democratic presidential nominee, a new CNN poll of polls out Tuesday shows the Illinois senator’s lead over John McCain has been cut in half in recent days.
According to CNN’s average of several recent national surveys, Obama’s lead is now a slim 3 points over the Arizona senator, 46-43 percent — half of his advantage in a CNN poll of polls one week ago, and down from a high of 8 points in mid-July.
Election Center: Check out CNN’s electoral map
The latest poll results come amid increased attacks from McCain on Obama’s readiness to be commander-in-chief and the re-emergence of national security worries among voters in the wake of the Georgia crisis.
“Over the last week, we’ve seen Sen. Obama’s lead in the poll of polls cut in half,” noted CNN Senior Political Researcher Alan Silverleib. “This change was likely driven by a renewed focus on foreign policy after Russia’s invasion of Georgia, as well as by Sen. McCain’s willingness to launch more aggressive attacks against Obama on issues such as off-shore drilling.”
A Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll out Tuesday evening was the latest national survey to indicate Obama’s lead is dwindling, putting the Illinois senator ahead of McCain by only 2 points, well within the poll’s margin of error. The CNN Poll of polls also includes new surveys from Quinnipiac and Gallup.
But the recent downturn in the polls for Obama may not last — the Democratic White House hopeful is headed for a week of what is likely to be overwhelmingly postive coverage as he names his running mate and officially accepts his party’s presidential nomination.
“The big question now is whether Obama can successfully regain control of the campaign agenda as we head into the Democratic convention,” Silverleib also said.

Re: Lieberman
Lieberman Remains In McCain’s VP Mix
By MARK PAZNIOKAS | The Hartford Courant

Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut remains “very much in the mix” of potential running mates for Republican presidential candidate John McCain, the Politico, a top political website, reported today.
Quoting senior McCain advisers, the website described McCain as considering two abortion-rights advocates, Lieberman and Republican Tom Ridge, despite the opposition of conservatives.
Lieberman, who departed today for a three-day trip to Poland, Ukraine and the former Soviet republic of Georgia, was unavailable for comment. His staff declined all comment on the vice-presidential selection process.
But Lieberman has repeatedly insisted that he would not reprise his 2000 role as Al Gore’s running mate, though he would do whatever else asked of him by the McCain campaign.
Aside from his Democratic pedigree, Lieberman is a supporter of abortion rights, gun control and gay rights, meaning his selection would invite a revolt from the Republican right at the Republican National Convention.
The Politico also quoted an unnamed Republican as speculating that a non-Republican would have trouble appearing on the GOP line of the ballot in some states.
Lieberman endorsed McCain in December at a press conference also attended by Ridge, the former Pennsylvania governor and homeland security chief. Both men are personally close to McCain.

[I just wonder if I will be blogging with any of you after the convention if she is not involved. I will have to go back to fighting the people of New York for money…. :o)]
If it ends up that way, I will be looking you up and asking how I can help in her Senate campaign, as I am from NYS…… However, right now, I will only imagine, hope and think about her winning the nomination!
Kaine and Romney. NOT Biden and Pawlenty.
Kaine and Romney. NOT Bayh and Lieberman.
Kaine and Romney. NOT Clinton and Powell.

I agree..I will support Hillary in every way that does not open the possibility of Obama being President.
“Just heard that Lieberman is believed to be McCain’s top pic for VP.”

Oh geez… could he pick a worse VP ??
It’s as if both the Dems and the Reps do not want to win this election. Can’t blame them considering the mess the current lackwit is leaving the next Presidnet with.
Hello #184 mzebest !
Yes, I saw your post last week and I wanted to thank you too, but each time I came to this blog, you were not here, so I couldn’t tell you thank you for your very kind words… But it’s normal we don’t “meet” much, as I am generally here quite earlier (it is 3 am in france…).
That was a lot of people but faxes sent!
#10 PaulHillary - I cannot deny that I believe that Senator Clinton could do a lot with the VP spot for the democratic party. It would not be my first choice, because I believe in my soul that she is the stronger, more competent candidate to run for POTUS. I must admit I would have to give it serious consideration, if he did indeed offer her the position.
I joined PUMA because I, like all other PUMAs felt disenfranchised during the primaries and it gave me a place to voice my outrage with like-minded voters. Further, it gave me a place to ACTIVELY work to ensure that our voices and concerns are heard loud and clear.
Thank you for listening to our voices and all of our concerns and bringing them to people who can listen and make a real difference.
Re : Sen. Clinton as VP
There have been many great women through out our history who have made great saccrifices and suffered relentlessly in order to to give the women of the world a voice .
They were ostracized , imprisoned , and even murdered for taking a stand and refusing to accept the pittances offered to them by those in power .
When I reflect on these courageous women ; Susan B Anthony , Alice Paul , Soujourner Truth , and even Benazir Bhutto to name just a
