Well, folks — we did it yesterday. We exceeded our fundraising goal of $4,000 dollars. In one day Puma PAC raised $4,980 dollars for our Denver Headquarters and Beautiful Protest and Rise on August 25th.

Can I make a suggestion for all the PUMAs who are unable to be in Denver? How about if we all get a white candle like the PUMAs will have in Denver and light it at the same time we know they will have theirs lit. We can be a beacon of light all over the country and feel we are united together for this historical event.
Also I am very interested in someone holding a sign for me and also would like a postcard. Can you please resubmit on here the directions on what we need to do, I remember the cost is $5.00 for each just don’t remember how to go about getting it to who is taking care of it. I LOVE our Statue of Liberty. Collected ephemera of Her for years. Thought she was the Virgin Mary when I was 4 or 5. Grandparents, parents, and siblings took annual trips on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty to pay homage, and to recount my family’s passage from Greece and Italy to the United States.
My brother, an ironworker, was part of the group that refurbished the Statue in the late 1980s, almost all were first and second generation Americans.
Unfortunately, I am the soil upon which the native language of my ancestors died.
Sorry. When I haven’t seen the Statue in a while, I just well up with memories and tears.

I had thought NOT to go, because it’s so far away (I’m in NY, Long Island, you know) but…as time has progressed, and our cause and our determination, so have I. Last night, I felt tired after a day of politics and turned to watch the BET Award show. However, it was extremely upseting to see the fervor about electing the first ‘black’ president. No talk about issues facing our country, just all about ‘black’. I had to turn it off in total disgust when I saw america’s hero,Sean P. Diddy (Puff Daddy) all puffed up and hollering “Obama or Die” from the stage. And alicia Keyes…..one of my favorites….this morning I just threw all her CD’s in the trash. I could never listen to her sing again and not see her spewing her racial crap from the stage.
Apparently the reason Obama never really speaks to issues is because he’s convinced that just being ‘black’ is all it will take to get him elected.
Boy, is he in for a surprise!!!

#92, Wow, Vonay, thanks for posting that: regardless of what you think of McCain, it shows his determination to “reach across the aisle,” sometimes to his own political detriment, and Obama’s fake positioning for his own benefit. That is powerful.
Speaking of powerful, does anyone else have the same impression that all the McCain camp has to do is run ads of Obama reading excerpts from his own book — the drug use, his past associations, the assumption of inherent differences instead of shared goals as the basis of race relations should all raise doubts about him. BO’s hemming and hawing, disingenuous cocked-to-the-side head, and unwillingness to give straight answers last night was an incredible contrast to McCain’s straight talk. I especially liked the fact that McCain talked about being moved by the stories of those Americans who he knows are probably not going to vote for him — as opposed to BO, who thinks that once you see him in action, he’s got your vote wrapped up.

I had mostly written and recorded balads, folk and country.
Then, decided to try my hand at pop-rock. So I did a series of works and went into a studio and recorded them with some musicians. This was one of them.
It’s been around for a while, interestingly enough. I was undecided whether it had a current sound for today’s music.
Glad you like! I called a couple of the musicians that played keyboards and lead guitar on it and told them to take a bow!

More excerpts from reports about how the caucus delegate count has been distorted in BO’s favor by the caucuses and the DNC. We are depending on Super Delegates to take this into account when they identify and vote for the electable Democrat.
The 2008 Democratic Party nomination for the presidency was stolen from Hillary Clinton and given to Barack Obama by certain members of the party leadership.
Five states (NH, NV, SC, MI and FL) broke the DNC’s primary timing rules, but only two—big states that Hillary was sure to win, Michigan and Florida—were penalized. The holding back of those two states allowed Obama to claim he was ahead in the race, even when he wasn’t. Unfortunately, a lot of people fell for that nonsense and started to consider him the frontrunner. That had an impact on media coverage and likely influenced the vote in later primaries. Paul Lukasiak documented this problem on several blogs, including InsightAnalytical, and found other evidence of what he calls “‘stop Hillary’ corruption” among the party leadership.
There was manipulation, if not outright fraud, in the caucuses. A group is making a film about it, and Lynette Long offers a detailed report. Pacific John, writing at MyDD, gave us a taste of what went on in Texas, but it wasn’t the only state with serious problems reported. Dr. Long has started a new website, Caucus Fraud, to document as much as possible of what happened.
Peniel Cronin’s final report, “Primary versus Caucus: How millions of voters were systemically disenfranchised and election results were skewed” has just been published at TalkLeft (pdf). The most significant findings:
Though voters in all 13 caucus states cast only 2.9% of the total 35.9 million votes, those caucus votes control 14.6% of the pledged delegates and 15.5% of the Super delegates sent to the DNC Convention…
39 Primaries with 34.8 million voters gave Clinton a lead in both votes and delegates. Caucuses with 1.1 million voters gave Obama 300,000 more votes and 206 more delegates.
Rather than being penalized for the tactical move of removing his name from the Michigan ballot, on May 31 Obama was rewarded instead, by the Rules & Bylaws Committee of the DNC. He was given delegates who did not vote for him, and was even given four of HILLARY’s delegates. There is no precedent for that kind of theft.
Had the RBC not halved the votes from Florida and Michigan and given to Obama delegates who didn’t vote for him, Hillary would also be ahead in pledged delegates. From Riverdaughter:
[N]ow we know why the RBC did what [they] did. She had over 100 delegates from Florida and 73 from Michigan. If he got zero from Michigan and both states had been able to seat with full strength, she could have added over 86 delegates and he would have lost 59. Hmm, that brings her total to 1725 and Obama’s to 1707.
If that’s not a stolen nomination, I don’t know what is.
Super Delegates – you can cure this and get us back to the White House – Hillary Clinton is the only electable Democrat!

As you know, the Majority Leader has asked Chairman Collins to hold hearings and mark up a bill for floor consideration in early March. I fully support such timely action and I am confident that, together with Senator Lieberman, the Committee on Governmental Affairs will report out a meaningful, bipartisan bill.
You commented in your letter about my “interest in creating a task force to further study” this issue, as if to suggest I support delaying the consideration of much-needed reforms rather than allowing the committees of jurisdiction to hold hearings on the matter. Nothing could be further from the truth. The timely findings of a bipartisan working group could be very helpful to the committee in formulating legislation that will be reported to the full Senate. Since you are new to the Senate, you may not be aware of the fact that I have always supported fully the regular committee and legislative process in the Senate, and routinely urge Committee Chairmen to hold hearings on important issues. In fact, I urged Senator Collins to schedule a hearing upon the Senate’s return in January.
Furthermore, I have consistently maintained that any lobbying reform proposal be bipartisan. The bill Senators Joe Lieberman and Bill Nelson and I have introduced is evidence of that commitment as is my insistence that members of both parties be included in meetings to develop the legislation that will ultimately be considered on the Senate floor. As I explained in a recent letter to Senator Reid, and have publicly said many times, the American people do not see this as just a Republican problem or just a Democratic problem. They see it as yet another run-of-the-mill Washington scandal, and they expect it will generate just another round of partisan gamesmanship and posturing. Senator Lieberman and I, and many other members of this body, hope to exceed the public’s low expectations. We view this as an opportunity to bring transparency and accountability to the Congress, and, most importantly, to show the public that both parties will work together to address our failings.

He has truly done NOTHING worthy of a presidential position.

Kerri, when i wrote to gotodenver and requested assistance, they asked for the same information. The information is used to disburse funds. They also asked me to provide an estimate as to the amount of the assistance I required in order to go to Denver.
We were informed, very early on, that gotodenver would not be arranging lodging, or planning our individual trips for us. This seems reasonable to me.
Aside from financial assistance, what is it that you require, that you can’t seem to get on your own?

I mean, the thought of her trying to discourage a true and honest roll call is so insane. A fiction writer is supposed to keep raising the stakes at every turn. And the heroine must constantly be beset with increasingly insurmountable odds until it finally appears that all may be lost. Only then can the author provide his or her audience with a truly satisfying ending.

When I was 19, we elected someone who we thought was honorable and would make the world a better place. Today’s leading candidate has made ‘race’ his platform, eschewing world progress overtly, and preaching hatred covertly, encouraging his supporters to vengeance.
What is good and beautiful in America today?

Have you tried locating accommodations outside of Denver? Boulder is 30 minutes away. Check a map for the names of local towns. RV parks often have stationary rentals, some even have small cabins. If you have a tent and asleeping bag, you could probably stay at a state of federal park for a nominal fee (18-25/night) and drive into denver for the uhh…festivities.
Just some things to think about.
There are also maps and other resources posted at the action center, under Denver, with maps of Denver, light rail and bus schedules, etc. There are also motel listings.
By the way, antifish and I researched and accumulated those resources.

I actually forced myself to listen to most of what Obama said — but it ain’t easy cause I can’t stand the sight of that man… but I wanted to be able to contrast his performance with McCain’s. I try to be objective and don’t believe it’s just my prejudice speaking when I say that McCain clearly demonstrates clear knowledge and command of any situation when contrasted with Obama.

I belive that you are supposed to research all of the costs of your trip. airline, food, lodging. figure out all of that stuff and let puma know your arrangements and how much you are lacking to meet your needs for your trip.

I am sure that everyone would love to see you in Denver and appreciates your support to all we are doing.

HOTEL ROOM AVAILABLE
I posted this late last night, but will try again.
I’ve got a hotel room available for at least 4-5 people in the Brighton area, which is 22 miles NE of Denver. Two people from my board were interested, but still don’t have transportation to Colorado.
I’ve found other lodging for myself, and no longer need the reservation. If there’s no takers soon, I’ll have to turn it back to the hotel.
It’s reserved for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night, (it might be available longer if you contact the hotel). For the 3 nights, the total comes to just over $500 with tax. There’s two queen beds, and a rollaway can be added for a 5th person. Whoever books would be responsible for getting themselves into Denver for the events, as light rail doesn’t go there.

Google a map of Denver and surrounding areas.
Google the name of the towns, they usually have ads for accommodations, or
google “motels”+ name of town.
Then start working the telephone for vacancies.
You mentioned that you’ll be driving. So, you’ll be able to commute from any outlying town into Denver.
Also, I posted a couple of ideas… camping in state and federal parks for one, also rv parks sometimes have stationery RVs for rent, and some campgrounds have cabins to rent.
There’s no need to, so forget about defending your circumstances and reasons for going to Denver. You don’t have to justify yourself.
You just have to try to come up with reasonable accommodations for youself and your dog.

Gosh PUMA, you need to step up and do some research on lodging for you and your dog.
PUMAs are helping in offering places on their floors and as much as they can. First you have to take control of your situation.
We would all love for there to be lots of money for buses to Denver, but the truth is most PUMAs are having enough trouble just paying their rent.
You will find more help when the blog is busy, it is pretty slow right now, and if you have a more positive attitude.
I can understand why you want to bring your dog, but that will make it difficult for you to share with someone in a motel or sleep on their floor.
Please don’t take your frustrations out on other PUMAs, I know you just want to go, but you need to step outside yourself and see if you can ask to share a space with a more positive attitude.
I don’t mean to make you more frustrated by this post but am trying to help you make this happen.

Kerri, I like you too, but please do not mischaracterize what I wrote. I asked if you expected Puma PAC to make your travel and lodging arrangements. I never asked if you expected your trip to be completely subsidized.
I am not a rich person and I have a lot of bills. I’m also trying to help my son get through college to become a lawyer. He is only two years into that endeavor so we have many more ahead. That said, I dug into my savings to finance my flight to Denver and I am sharing a motel room with one of our members.
I realize that there are many out there not so fortunate as I. That is why I have contributed to the Denver fund at least 4 times. So, yes, it does affect me. I just got a little incensed at your posts suggesting that all your planning should be done for you.
I don’t control the purse strings at Puma PAC but we were told early on that we should make our own arrangements for travel and lodging and Puma PAC would help subsidize some of the costs for members that needed assistance.
If you saw where some Pumas were willing to pay for your expenses, maybe you should go back through the posts and find out who they are. I don’t remember ever seeing such.

I’m troubled by rumors that you will release your delegates to Obama at the convention before the roll call vote. I’m equally disturbed by numerous reports of delegates being paid, pressured, or threatened to vote for Obama rather than vote their conscience or vote in accordance with the popular vote in their districts, as they are supposed to do.
I know that you are doing and saying what you must for now. And I pray that you will accept the nomination if you get enough votes, because we truly need you in the White House. And yet, we can’t afford to stand by and do nothing.

If any of you are nervous about the emails from KnoxvilleBrian accusing Murphy of fraud — keep in mind what she shared in post #179.
WE ARE A FEDERAL PAC — POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
If anyone wanted to set up a web site to defraud people of money, the LAST thing they would do is start up a legal entity with the federal government that has strict disclosure laws. And would not hesitate to prosecute and jail anyone who broke the laws.
We all know that our Murphy is VERY bright! She would know it is CRAZY to start a federal PAC in order to cheat people! Her choice to set us up in such a respectable way is evidence of her dedication to this cause.
It also makes no sense for someone to send around false accusations about a PAC. Anyone seriously concerned would just make a report to the feds. Of course, that requires evidence, which is why it can be easier to send false emails.
so we don’t need to know and personally trust Murphy to realize the accusations are ridiculous. We know that at her own expense, she registered us a PAC which must adhere to strict federal laws. All income and expenditures are reported to the federal government and available for public inspection. No secrets here!
I used to be part of social work committee that did political action work, so we were a PAC. I remember how nervous any of us were to be a treasurer, because we signed our names to a federal document. We were very careful to be absolutely accurate to the penny in our reporting. We knew we could be prosecuted for mistakes!
Anyway, I just donated $100 to PUMAPAC. Money I was supposed to give my local “community sustainable agriculture” program to keep getting fresh, organic veggies the rest of the summer. Heck, I’ll eat frozen veggies while I watch PUMA’s making history in Denver!

There are PUMAs who are willing to “sponsor” trips to Denver. I actually saw one or two posted on this blog. You probably weren’t present at the time.
I sold my beloved pristine 1987 VW Westfalia camper in order to finance my trip to Denver. So, I have little tolerance for someone who is being fully subsidized, yet can’t google resources, and pick up the phone to make reservations.
Not to mention the simple act of acknowledging those on this blog who have offered suggestions, encouragment, and links.

He has a website but I forgot what it was called. Anyway, he predicts #61 will win by 5 electoral votes. I hope he is wrong. We need to really work hard for McCain, I will really be depressed if XO gets in. I keep telling myself people will wake up and see the light. I e-mailed a friend of mine and she is still enthused about the empty suit. I can’t hardly talk to her anymore, don’t understand how someone educated could take the kool aid.

A lot of us will NEVER understand it, to us it is plain and simple; but to Hillary it isn’t. In politics you have to learn how to maneuver yourself to survive. Never underestimate her, that woman has testicular fortitude. Hillary is not worried about John McCain, this two people have a LOT of respect for each other and work together in the US senate supporting each other’s legislation or co-sponsoring each other’s legislation that’s why extreme leftwingnuts of the democratic party accuse her of being Republican, she is not a GOP, she’s a MODERATE DEMOCRAT. With each obstacle, Clinton undoubtedly reassesses her options and makes choices based on how she feels she can best maintain, if not increase, her political power. This is politics, made all-the-more difficult if you’re female, apparently.
The Democratic Party is divided. There appear to be those who want to move it farther to the left at any cost and those who want to keep it more moderate. It’s also the younger generation against the older. There’s a lot of jockeying for power and influence. Senator Clinton, I can only assume, continues to make choices that are in her best interests in order to gain power. Most of us dislike the choices she appeared to be left with, but such is what it has been. She could have thrown in the towel before every state voted, but she didn’t. However, soon thereafter, she made what must have been an incredibly hard decision not to push any further against party pressure.
Now, here we are at this juncture, and it won’t be the last. And each of us are making the best decisions we can in the face of all of this. No one is right and no one is wrong, from those who want to fight to the end and those who feel prepared to register as Republicans.

Before the first vote was cast in primary, I’ve been telling all my friends Hillary is a formidable opponent against ANY Republican nominee, she will defeat them without a problem; but if she is not the nominee of the party, the democrats will lose BIG TIME in November in spite of the fact everything is in their favor. The American people are not blind, this is a dangerous time, our economy is in bad shape, we are not yet out of Iraq, now here comes Georgia and Russia; we don’t want ON THE JOB TRAINING for a President. DECONSTRUCTING DEMOCRACY AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
My Dear Fellow PUMAs,
If you are going crazy trying to figure out what’s happening with the Democratic Party, join the club. I’m not kidding. Join the club. Because it just hit me, the way to understand this Democratic nominating process is to think of The Democratic Party as what it is – a club. And the only thing that makes this club so special is that it was able to get permission from each of the 50 states to collect campaign contributions and put the names of the candidates it wants to hold office onto the state’s election ballot. That’s it. That’s all there is. Let me explain.
According to Party – or rather, club rules, presidential candidates are chosen at the club’s nominating convention. Afterward, the club submits the name of its candidate for POTUS to the appropriate state official in each state – usually the Secretary of State – as part of an application to get onto the state’s general election ballot, in compliance with that state’s laws. In fact, states only allow the candidate for POTUS chosen by a “major political party” to submit ballot papers so late in the game because club rules and by-laws require their candidates to be chosen at a “nominating convention.”
The club determines who will be its candidate for POTUS on the general election ballot through a vote at the convention by people it calls “delegates,” which delegates obtained that status through an allocation process set by the club. That is, the club places the names of its proposed candidates on state ballots in the primary and caucus elections and then, in exchange for receiving a specific number of votes in that process, the candidates are assigned a delegate to vote for them at the convention. Most state delegates are given a special status, called “pledged.” According to club rules, when these pledged delegates cast their votes at the convention, they should use their best judgment to represent the wishes of the voters based on whose votes they were elected. Historically, by counting these delegates pledged to each candidate, the club has usually been able to predict which of its candidates will end up with the nomination at the end of the primary and caucus process, since one candidate usually garners enough pledged delegates to surpass the number the club set as the requirement at the convention. But not this year. Neither club candidate – BO or HRC – was assigned enough delegates through the primary and caucus process to secure the nomination at the convention. Luckily, the club had in place rules whereby this deficit in delegates could be made up by special delegates commonly referred to as super delegates who get to cast their votes for either candidate at the convention.
The Democratic Party set up volumes of rules and by-laws that govern all these operations, with auspicious sounding titles like “Charter,” “Constitution,” “Model Rules to Delegate Selection Process,” and “Call to the Convention.” But here’s the thing about all these club rules: they can be changed at any time. According to club rules. So, if like me, you have read club rules and believe, as I do, that members of the club have not played fair throughout this presidential nominating process, am I saying there is nothing you can do about it? Hardly.
Remember what I said in the beginning: the state only lets the club get onto official state ballots as long as they follow state rules. And unlike club rules, when states make rules, they’re called laws. (TO BE CONTINUED…)

Our job is to VOTE THE BUMS OUT OFFICE, like Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid and others who are extreme leftwingnuts. Not so. I got my first snail mail letter from the empty one yesterday.
I was delighted! I went digging in my Mardi Gras stuff, i.e. my stash for creating my MG costumes and found 4 6 inch by 3 inches wide 100 dollar bill “PLay money of America” bills that I had used this past Mardi Gras (Love play money..for MG great for satirizing crooked politicians, etc.) with siver glitter all over them, beat up, of course from a hard day of play…and wrote little notes all over them..like go buy some more Alinsky lessons, BS BArok, etc…New OrleansPuma stuff, folded them along with comments I made on the letter and put them in the POSTAGE paid return envelope to send to the creeps. Given that they are still sending to someone like me, I think things are bad..Had so much fun!

I never was motivated either to take a stand. I had the attitude that it didn’t matter what I thought. Tried to research and learn all I could about nominees but was raised to follow the Democrats and pretty much did that.

Please don’t lose faith in Hillary. I believe she has resolved to do what she can in the Senate for the next four years and position herself for 2012. If she forces her hand NOW and LOSES, she is finished in politics forever. I think we need to believe what she said: I am in it to win it. When she saw that it was not a winnable situation, she backed out with dignity. But that does not mean that she is defeated. Like the PUMA, she will retire to a safe distance, lick her wounds and come back wiser and stronger to finish the job.

You are all such great people. Did anyone catch the few clips of Senator Clinton in NM stumping for O with the Latino Americans? Judas was on stage. Senator Clinton wears her heart on her sleeve, I think. I’m sure it’s a girl thing to notice that. The room cheered, stood up and clapped for her; when the Judas was announced, the room was almost silent. When Judas reached out to hug her and she had to face the crowd, she was not smiling. She said she would do what she could when asked, sooo…she’s been asked by O and is keeping her word. We also need for the primaries to all be on the same day. No one state should be more important than another. All votes from all states should be counted even in the primary.
Every election we watch numerous candidates debate the issues prior to the primary but yet most of the time we have no say in who the nominee is. This was also the first year that I have voted in a primary because usually the nominee is selected before it ever gets to our state.
I don’t want someone like Howard Dean telling me who is the best candidate. I also think that we should vote for who we want to run the DNC. I didn’t pick Dean, Pelosi, Brazille, Reid, etc. This is supposed to be a democracy but yet the voters don’t seem to get any say in it. This is BS for sure.

I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER THESE THOUGHTS ABOUT WHAT HILLARY IS DOING:
If you have ever studied martial arts, you will understand this:
If you block your opponent’s attack with another hard block, you may stop the attack, but you are liable to break whatever part of your body you were blocking with.
HOWEVER — if your opponent attacks, and you YIELD or STEP ASIDE or DUCK, you will avoid the attack, and your opponent will be off-balance from hitting at thin air. You can then attack them without injuring yourself, and finish them off.
A brittle branch will break, a flexible branch will withstand the strongest wind.
Can you see what I am getting at here? Hillary is not BLOCKING — she is YIELDING. That means she will be in a better position to ATTACK when the timing is right.

Normally, on a night like tonight, we here at First Read would have been liveblogging every moment of Rick Warren’s presidential forum. But with the Olympics and the fact this is THE Saturday Michael Phelps will be making history, we kept our liveblogging in check.
It turns out, actually, we should have been because this was a pretty good scrimmage and there’s a lot to learn from these back-to-back appearances by John McCain and Barack Obama.
Quick first impressions: Obama spent more time trying to impress Warren (or to put another away) not offend Warren while McCain seemingly ignored Warren and decided he was talking to folks watching on TV. The McCain way of handling this forum is usually the winning way. Obama may have had more authentic moments but McCain was impressively on message.
This was a mistake Obama made a few times during the primary season. On one hand, it can make a moderator feel good when their subject actually tries to answer every question and take into account their opinions on a particular topic. And Obama’s supporters will email me tonight and say this is what they love about him.
And yet, this reminded me of the many comparisons we made between Obama and Hillary Clinton. She was much more effective at answering questions in 90 seconds and always staying on message while Obama too easily allowed himself to get knocked off his talking points. Remember, Obama doesn’t need to win over his supporters, he needs folks who are just now tuning in.
Take the VERY first question Warren posed to both candidates: who are three people you’ll depend on for wisdom in the presidency. Obama seemed to answer this in a very personal way, talking about his wife and grandmother. McCain went right to this message, checking boxes on Iraq (Patraeus) and the economy (Whitman) for instance. Now, I’m betting Obama’s answer came across as more authentic but McCain’s was probably more effective with undecided swing voters.
The two answered the Supreme Court justice question VERY differently, with Obama seemingly trying to say a nice thing or two about justices he disagreed with, while McCain went right to pander mode in his answer. And yet, McCain’s straightforward answer easily penetrated while Obama’s did not.
Every Obama answer was certainly thoughtful enough but he seemed to want to explain himself too much and went out of his way not to offend folks who disagree with him.
Don’t get me wrong, this will play well with some but McCain’s directness and snappy answers that were on message allowed him to look commanding on that stage.
Warren may come away from this experience liking Obama more and respecting the fact that he seemed to take pains to not offend him and respect their disagreements. But I’m betting that if a focus group of undecided voters were watching this, they’d come away having a clearer understanding of McCain’s beliefs.
Overall, this was a fascinating event because the contrast between the two candidates was so clear. The quesitons were made to order of McCain in the early going and that allowed him to get comfortable quickly. This was always going to be a tough venue for any Democrat, including one who is as comfortable talking about his faith as Obama is.
Obama better be thankful for the timing of this; he seemed a little rusty and clearly has some work to do before he meets McCain face-to-face on Sept. 26, the night of the first presidential debate in Oxford, MS.

The only way I can reconcile my frustration at the way the Democrats are polishing their crowned one is to turn away from them and vote with my guts. This phony must not become president, and my participation with PUMA and a vote in November is my best shot at stopping him.
We aren’t Hillary. I would hate to think she has sold out–if she is a true Scorpio, then I know she is just waiting for the right moment to sting. McCain has suggested that he might only be a one-term president deliberately, as did George Washington, and if that’s so–he would give it his all to do the best for this country, rather than spend half of it trying to be reelected. Given that possibility, Hillary would be primed and ready for 2012.
She’s playing the game. She’s waiting for the right moment. That’s my hope.

Clinton is in a difficult position. If she doesn’t obey the Party call and rally around the empty suit she could be accused of “costing him the election”.
Even today whenever Nader’s name is mentioned people think of him as costing Gore the 2000 election.

I had a curious observation coming back from my brother’s this afternoon. I passed a local Legion Hall with political yard signs surrounding the parking lot. The there was one larger than the others that said “DEMOCRATIC FUNDRAISING EVENT HERE TODAY.” Half of the signs were touting Nick Lampson who is up for re-election to our District in Nov. The others were state officials, county judges, etc. One name/sign was mysteriously not among the rest—and if it was, it was overshadowed or hidden by the others. I wasn’t able to go back and get another look. But that “O” sign sticks out like an orange pepper when you do see it. Peculiar and interesting. A democratic fundraiser that seemed absent of Obama touting. I asked the friend I was with if he noticed something weird about it? That was the first thing he noticed, too. mmmm.
I want to see an Obama/Pelosi ticket. Wouldn’t that be a howl!

I agree and have always thought of it that way.
The way things are now with the DNC if she or Bill is to say or do anything that seems like they are trying to take it away from Obama or make him lose then they will probably take the roll call away or do something to her that will damage her.
I don’t really care how many “unity events” she does, for example. In Las Vegas, she praised the votes that her and Obama brought in but when I showed her the 18 Million picture it brought light to her eyes. Deep down we know she doesn’t like doing this and in the end she still cares for everyone of her 18 million.
But for the time being she has to remain doing this. When Obama loses…you just watch, there’s gonna be everyone in congress trying to kiss up to Hillary for supporting the other guy. All the more reason to vote for McCain over Obama if Hillary doesn’t pull it off in Denver.
I feel VERY strongly about the fact that UNLESS Hillary is planning a coup in Denver, I cannot excuse or condone her soliciting voters for BO. I feel it is unethical in the extreme and beneath her.
If she is not planning a coup in denver, then I may have to throw her under the bus IF she persists in supporting that man. This is MORE important than her, and we have all spoken about this at great length.
BO is VERY dangerous and we cannot ASSume that four years of him at the helm could be undone. He MUST be stopped, and if she helps him to help herself she may become too tainted to be my girl.
This has caused me much heart ache, and I cannot watch or listen to any of it. I pray for the coup. More than most of you will know. I pray.

What do we know about her? I know everyone’s saying that the VP choice is going to matter for once in this election, but do you really think that’s true? Somehow I can’t imagine that any VP would sway voters, even Independents, given the clear differences between the candidates. Kathleen Sebelious is the daughter of former Governor of Ohio John Gilligan – at least I think he was Governor.
I am not down about Hillary helping Obama. She has to do this so that she can run again in 2012. I’m sure she believes strongly that Obama will lose and McCain will only be a one term President. PUMA will be sitting pretty after the election when Obama loses. The media can say whatever they want about PUMA…but we never drank the koolaid.

Yeah… I didn’t know her name (and remembering names are generally a weakness of mine anyway)… but I came to hate her during the primaries when she was always the moderator of the “supposedly” balanced analysis team of Donna Brazile, Jamal (don’t know his last name), and Gerkin (don’t care if I spelled his name incorrectly). I would always be screaming at the TV set thinking “What part of this group is going to give a fair report for HRC’s side?” And Gloria was the worst because of how she would phrase the questions. I hope CNN ratings are heading in the same direction as BO’s polls.

When I went to the polls to vote for you, I did so with the expectation that my vote would be represented on the convention floor by a pledged delegate. Anything less renders my vote and my voice as a Democrat mute.
I have looked to you as a stellar symbol of what a woman can achieve when she dedicates her life to public service. However, should you urge your delegates to vote for Senator Obama on the first vote, I, for one, will find this a crushing set back for what you accomplished during the primaries and for all that you have come to symbolize for women and men across America and around the world. You are, indeed, the only candidate qualified to be the President of the United States.

He said that people died for our vote. Does anyone have his phone number, e-mail address? Kelley Girl, my mixed terrier, lived to be 20 (and I was devasted when I had to let her go two years ago) and now Murphy is 18. She’s still hanging in but I’m trying to prepare myself. Mozart, my puma, is two years old and Audrey, my Spiegal (part beagle, part spaniel) is 2 as well.

If you did then maybe you remember the episode where Tony Sopranos mother died and his sister had a wake and she wanted everyone to say a remembrance but no one could think of anything good about her. Tony’s nephew Chris was sitting on the sofa so out of it because he did a line of coke and other drugs before he got there well anyway he started up with all this rambling that totally made no sense . well this is where I am going with this : last evening when we were watching Nobama I reminded my husband of this and I said doesn’t he remind you of Chris on that episode and we started laughing because he was making no sense and finally the minister finished his sentence for him. He was rambling kind of like me in this post LOL
