We did it — we exceeded our goal of $10,000 dollars raised this weekend — by several thousand dollars! I will have an exact amount to report in the morning. Until then, I hereby decree this thread a money-free zone. We have a great PROWL planned for tomorrow and lots of final details to report. Our press release and final schedule will be available here tomorrow as well.
It is truly amazing to watch the work of so many talented and committed people coming together these past days to make something historic happen for all of us. Let’s not kid ourselves — 2 months ago, we were nobodies — just individual people around the country who were very unhappy and confused by what happened in the Democratic Party this year. We didn’t know what to do or where to turn. But in a few short weeks we have completely turned that around. TODAY, we have a mission, a movement, and a community. We are Puma PAC, People United Means Action, and as the Voice of the Voters, we WILL be heard!
As Paddy O’Bloggin would say, “Sláinte agus táinte!”

Obama Campaign Angry That McCain Won’t Disavow The Obama Nation?
Copied from http://politicallydrunk.blogspot.com/
I apologize, but isn’t there an whiff of arrogance in the air today. Yesterday the Obama Campaign attacked John McCain for refusing to discredit Jerome Corsi’s best seller The Obama Nation. Apparently the Obama campaign has not figured out that John McCain, not Jerome Corsi, is his opponent.
In a statement issued by Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan, he stated, “While the smears piled up and the lies were exposed, John McCain spent six days in silence and on the seventh day said we should have a sense of humor. “John McCain’s response to this discredited book speaks volumes — he is a George Bush candidate running a Karl Rove campaign with a Dick Cheney sense of humor.”
Corsi’s book which currently sits atop the NY Times best seller list is likely to remain in that slot for at least the next two week after the Obama campaign waited nearly 2 weeks to acknowledge the book. There attacks which almost two weeks after the release have only proven to fuel “buzz” around the book and increase The Obama Nation sales.
As far as the Obama Campaign’s attack upon McCain for his lack of condemnation, perhaps the McCain campaign should ask where Barry’s condemnation was over the past three months of hate-filled attacks by Obama Surrogates and Left-Wing websites like Huffpo and Daily Kos. But yet the arrogant nature of the Obama campaign once again proves their belief that they are somehow entitled to run their opponents campaigns.
The Obama Campaign needs to give up their futile attacks on The Obama Nation, after all the more they attack the book the more interest is spurned in the book. The campaign should have gone on the offensive before the book was released, but perplexedly waited until nearly two weeks after the books release. Perhaps the Obama campaign should consider addressing more serious issues than what lies atop the NYT & Bookscan’s bestseller lists.
So while the McCain campaign continues to talk about the Economy, Energy Prices, The War On Terror and Russia’s Invasion of Georgia; the Obama Campaign talks about The Obama Nation.

Ya know what bothers me the most is the RIOTS ,I feel will surely follow ,if by the grace of GOD Hillary gets the nomination.And even more disturbing is this leaves the door wide open for LOUIS FARRAKHAN. Ya know when my sister was in college she had to attend a class called the WHITE HISTORY MOVEMENT. She thought it was about History,but in fact turned out to be a class on Black Theology.The Professor was actually a Farrakhan follower.She said one day she actually brought in about 20 representatives and they scared the crap out of the whole class,when they started talking about their plans to rid the world of the white race. THIS IS REALLY SCARY STUFF.

Mars goes into Libra on the 20th of August. It will cause arguments at the DNC convention regarding contracts, fairness, law, Females…as if we already did not know that. There will be lawyer(s) involved at the convention who will argue these points…and maybe a judge.
On the positive side, there is the possibility of Dean conceding to the Demand that Hillary Clinton should have the right to hold her delegates and have her name placed in nomination.
Does this help?

TOPIC: Astrology & the Convention
someone was asking about this up top, this astrology was speaking back in April, here ya go:
Hillary’s April showers and The Democratic Convention
http://modernvedicastrology.blogspot.com/2008/04/hillarys-april-showers-and-democratic.html
This campaign is in trouble right now and she runs the risk of the nightmare scenario of losing Pennsylvania on Apr 22. While I still think it’s winnable for her, I have previously acknowledged there is a configuration in the Obama campaign chart. that may indicate that he wins on the 22nd. This is the transiting Mars hitting his unequal 4th house cusp while tr Jupiter moves over his unequal 10th house cusp. Mars (action, conflict) and Jupiter (politicians, ideals) oppose each other then, so its an appropriate pattern for this battle royal. It’s a very singular and powerful pattern in Obama’s chart which could coincide with a win. Hillary’s chart still shows strength on the 22nd however the presence of transiting dasha lord Venus on the equal 6th house cusp is cause for some concern. This generically means “conflict” which is appropriate for an election contest, but there is a sense of difficulty here too, as if it may be too much for her to handle. Bottom line, I still expect her to win here, but my confidence level is not what it was for TX and OH. I was more like 80% or more certain she would win there as the astrology of those wins looked far more clear cut. My sense of Pennsylvania is more like 60%.
The reason I’m revisiting this prediction is because I’m trying to make sense of the her declining fortunes in light of the charts.. I’ve got some things right so far like her winning Texas and Ohio, but I’ve been wrong too. I have to admit that I could be wrong about Pennsylvania as well, and indeed about her nomination. This election has been unusually challenging for astrologers because of lack of documented birth times for either candidate. This means that birth time-dependent placements like houses and rulerships have to be used with a grain a salt and this increases one’s margin of error. And just to state the obvious, no astrologer, especially me, is going to be correct all the time. It’s a probabilistic endeavour at best, where one can sometimes see things in the future that fall outside of normal perception. This is rarely a consistent ability of prediction in the conventional scientific sense of the word. And when you throw in personal preferences into the mix (yes, I like Hillary), staying objective is hard to do.
Somehow, Hillary needs to find a way to survive in April while her chart is under pressure. Her subperiod lord Saturn is retrograde in the 11th house of gains making progress slow if not impossible. When this changes direction and goes forward on May 2, her luck should improve. Until then, she is going to have a tough time, which may include losing Pennsylvania. I still think she has enough strength in her chart to win it, but I want to be up front about some second thoughts I’m having. The astrology is by no means clear. But if she does end up losing it, then the campaign is effectively over.
And even if she survives into May, Saturn will then aspect her natal Sun by 3rd house sextile aspect. This places a handicap on her husband (males are represented by the Sun) and her vitality which is also symbolized by the Sun. Therefore, she may be more prone to weakness and illness through May and June. More significantly, the Sun also represents authority so this may be the time when she tangles with the DNC in a more open way. Overall, it’s a difficult transit and not necessarily one that will boost her chances. My original prediction for Obama’s hard times in May was based on the assumption that the race would end then. Since this won’t happen, those negative influences in his chart will likely show setbacks and more intense conflicts that he will have with Hillary and perhaps the party as a whole. A possible indicator of his declining fortunes, however temporary, may be seen in the retrograde station of his dasha lord Jupiter on May 9. Also Uranus is applying to station in a close opposition to his natal Mars (29 Leo) in June suggesting too much energy or conflict that is out of control. I note that June 24 is particularly over-energized for Obama as Uranus stations that day and transiting Mars conjoins his natal Uranus. This signature of action, aggression and suddenness is not going to be helpful to Obama at all, and may extend beyond the realm of political conflict and into some kind of personal threat.
So while I am hedging a bit here in the face of a bleak reality, I still would favour Hillary winning in PA and then winning the nomination although I’m less confident about it than I was before. Another interesting dimension is how a potential fight with the DNC might play out. If Hillary wins PA as I think she might, the prospect of a legal challenge to seat the delegates from MI and FL grows. I think there is good reason to think there will be a very nasty fight in the party possibly right up to the convention as the chart of the Democratic Party (May 13 1792) is very afflicted. For example, the natal Mars (27 Leo) will be opposed by Uranus in the coming months suggesting a time of chaos and uncontrollable developments. The Democratic Party has roughly the same placement of Mars as Obama has hence the Uranus opposition shows up in both charts. A possible clue to what the convention might hold can be seen in the conjunction of transiting Mars to the natal Rahu. This strongly indicates an explosion of anger and actions that fall outside the boundaries of normal behaviour. At the same time, transiting Ketu conjoins the natal Uranus, which again indicates excitement that gets out of control, or perhaps sudden changes or developments.
DNC chair Howard Dean’s chart (Nov 17 1948) shows too much activity to suggest smooth sailing all the way to the convention. July and August look particularly stressed. He’s running Saturn-Rahu dasha at a time when transiting Saturn conjoins its natal position — a Saturn return. What’s worse, on July 11, tr. Mars and Saturn conjoin on his natal Saturn. This does not sound like a tea party, particularly as the tr Saturn will aspect his natal Ketu simultaneously. This looks like a time when rules are being cast aside and matters are in disarray.
To top it off, at the time of the convention in late August, tr Saturn will exactly square Dean’s natal 12th house Moon, indicating a time of loss and disappointment. This may reflect a disappointment that his preferred choice has lost, or it may indicate disappointment that has damaged its image. It’s not all bad, however, as tr Jupiter is close to his 7th house cusp symbolizing successful encounters with colleagues. So it’s possible that the party comes out of the convention intact. I’ll post more on this topic later.
pa dem – But apparently, per Sunny PA’s post earlier today, it only went up to Michigan. But, I can go back through my e-mails and see if that was because of something my husband did when he saved the spreadsheet as an excel file or if antifish sent me an incomplete list. I never noticed since I was focusing on California, which obviously comes up early on in an alphabetical list. I’m getting ready for bed and my husband is in bed, but we can check it out tomorrow. Somehow you’ll have to find a way to let me know who to forward it to, though and/or post a HELP WANTED heading, again, and antifish may be able to assist as well. I thought she and Sunny PA did link up today and I assumed antifish got the data base to her.
I’ll keep my computer on for a few more minutes to see if you post again, but either way, I can’t do anything about it tonight.
oops, I meant “astrologer,” but you knew that..

R U curious to know who’ll be Obama’s pick 4 VP?
By BRIAN STELTER, New York Times
Last update: August 17, 2008 – 9:12 PM
The names of vice-presidential candidates are typically announced at news conferences or political conventions.
But sometime before the opening gavel of the Democratic National Convention a week from today, Sen. Barack Obama plans to break the mold by doing it with a text message.
Last week, the Obama campaign said that anyone who sent a text message of “VP” to a dedicated phone number would be among the first to learn the identity of his running mate. The campaign is also running a television commercial that offers a campaign sticker to any person who texts “Barack” to the same number.
The efforts spotlight Obama’s push to harvest millions of cell phone numbers of potential voters through text messaging. And it could have a significant effect in November, when the campaign plans to use the technology to get out the vote.
The campaign is drawing on its technological know-how and its support among younger voters, who as teenagers and younger children embraced the technology — often surreptitiously in their classrooms.
The strategy stands in sharp contrast to that of the presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, who does not use text messaging and rarely uses the Internet.
Researchers are only beginning to study the effects of text messaging on get-out-the-vote efforts. A study of 4,000 people released last year found that those who received a reminder in a text message one day before an election were 4.2 percent more likely to vote, said a co-author of the study, Allison Dale, a graduate student at the University of Michigan.
Todd Rogers, the executive director of the Analyst Institute, said the findings were surprising because past research has shown that “the more personal a mode of contact, the more effective it is.” But, Rogers said, the impersonal nature of text messaging might be offset by the novelty of the medium.
Dale said Obama’s plan was clever. “They’re enticing people with a little bit of information,” like the vice-presidential pick, she said, “and once they have those numbers, they can use them again for mobilization.”
Though the campaign will not disclose how many people have sent text messages to its phone number, analysts say the number is under a million.
Jim Goldstein, 38, a Web strategist from San Francisco, said he signed up for the text messages because they offered a direct channel to the Obama campaign.
“It’s not often in this day and age that a voter is made to feel like they’re being put first versus the press, big donors and lobbyists,” he said.

Obama, McCain tied in Ohio
Raleigh, N.C. – John McCain has pulled even with Barack Obama in Ohio, according to the newest survey from Public Policy Polling. Obama had led in PPP’s June and July polls of the state. It’s 45-45 with 10% undecided.
One factor causing Obama problems is that he’s not doing as good a job as McCain of getting folks in his party to vote for him. While McCain leads 89-7 among Republicans, Obama’s lead is a narrower 75-17 among Democrats. Obama has the 45-28 edge with
independent voters.
The Democrats neglecting to choose Obama are disproportionately white, female, and middle aged, an indication that it could be former supporters of Hillary Clinton who are holding out. (PUMA!!!!!!)

The most important planet right now is Pluto. Pluto rules Scorpio, and there are two very prominent Scorps at the DNC…Hillary and Dean. There will be quite a battle of wills and Scorpios are very strong.
But, what I find very interesting is that Pluto is in Sagittarius for the next several weeks and the placement of Pluto is close to the 26 degrees which is the Galactic Center. The GC is the center point of the Milky Way, and Pluto has been transiting the exact point of the GC for a few years now.
The Energy of the Earth is speeding up and changes are a-comin’. Big time.
Sagittarius is the sign of Truth and Honesty, and the Whole World will be watching what goes on at this convention. As I said earlier in a previous post here is a Grand Square (stress) which involves Pluto, which will increase the tension and anger if Dean/DNC tries to stifle everyone.
Actually, I equate Pluto’s position with Barry. He is playing Dean against Hillary. He is quite adept at manipulating people and the World…look at his trips overseas…Pluto rules the Ninth House of Long Distance Travels…and other nationalities….
I anticipate a battle royal if Dean continues on with his dictatorial attitude. Hillary is not one to cave in, and the results of the convention will either make the party stronger or split it in two with a third party emerging…the PUMA party so to speak.

Hi Firebelle Puma,
How are you doing tonight & what little kernals of info did you unearth for us this weekend? I always enjoy reading what you post…
nite-nite, invalid response!
#119 Flasunshiner
“Scorpios are very strong. ” You got that right.
I think HRC is waaaaaaaay stronger than Dean.
hi goanderson, what’s new & how was your weekend?
Have you had a chance to look at that new book, “ObamaNation,” yet?
#82 antifish, The Democrats neglecting to choose Obama are disproportionately white, female, and middle aged, an indication that it could be former supporters of Hillary Clinton who are holding out. (PUMA!!!!!!)

Thank you for giving us this information. Believe it or not, animals (horses) tend to have foals relatively close to full moons. There is also a time to “castrate” the colts (sorry guys). My horses also know when there is a major weather change. It’s all so amazing. They are also affected by high and low pressure. Mother nature at work.
jashery: I let her know in chat. Kerri is a little more awake now that she took a nap.

Congratulations on such an incredible two days…you see, it can be done!!! As murphy says “we are the ones , no one expected.!!
goanderson: good job. I simply could not believe my eyes looking at that book “ObamaNation” as it is very well-written and clearly points out all of the problems w/this candidate us PUMA’s have been saying all along..
Prancing PUMAs, Batman. We did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just came back from dinner thinking I would have to tally until the cows came home and saw the great news!
Congratulations PUMAs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No (I don’t think he even has a place in O’s brain), I was just thinking how absurd it would be if he chose Richardson. Richardson does have the foreign diplomatic experience (that he got from Bill Clinton). Is Richardson speaking at the convention? How could he possibily be at the same place as the Clinton? Of course, he isn’t the only one that turned tail on the Clinton’s. The liberal wing of the party was really, really upset when Clinton and his friends started the Democratic Leadership Council in the late 80s and early 90s. The DLC kind of tramped all over the liberals. The country had so many years of Reagan and Bush Sr. that the Dems thought it wise at the time to become more moderate or even a bit more conservative. So in walks Bill and his buddies. It really upset the likes of Kennedy and his following. So this whole “progressive” movement has been an outgrowth of the early bickering of the Demos over the last twenty years. I even saw the Dems in our state legislature really become more conservative. Most of them are now turning more liberal to keep their positions.
MaryBeth, it’s going to be great meeting everyone in Denver! Let’s take a lot of pictures & try to have fun along with our work. And blog on this site so we can talk to our fellow PUMAs.
127 goanderson.
Yes, and Hillary is a Superior Scorpio. She does not yell, scream and try to control everyone around her like Dean.

Topic: Convention & astrology
Hi Flasunshiner! Re: Sagittarius is the sign of Truth and Honesty – now _that’s_ something to give us ALL heart & courage these next weeks!
I’m finding it interesting my predictions coinciding with astrology, I need to learn more about astrology I think. I guess what that other astrologer is basically saying is the same stuff I have been predicting will happen all along, things will not go as people predict they will at the convention, there will be some pretty strong emotions all ’round, the Michigan and Florida delegates are being fully seated.
Hillary’s a strong candidate and working behind the scenes, she’s going to give one of the greatest speeches of her life and it will be a very convincing one to the delegates at the convention..
But will she get the nomination that very day…? I’m still not sure, I only know for sure she’s going to be the next Prez!
#125 hillstheone
You like my stuff? Aw shucks.
Well then, here’s what I wrote to Hillary today. I both faxed it and emailed it. Plus now I’m stuffing copies into envelopes with a flyer I’m sending to California delegates (thanks to the list Antifish provided). If you want to see the flyer, email me at firebellepuma at gmail. It’s a PDF file.
****************
Dear Hillary,
I’m troubled by rumors that you will release your delegates to Obama at the convention before the roll call vote. I’m equally disturbed by numerous reports of delegates being paid, pressured, or threatened to vote for Obama rather than vote their conscience or vote in accordance with the popular vote in their districts, as they are supposed to do.
I know that you are doing and saying what you must for now. And I pray that you will accept the nomination if you get enough votes, because we truly need you in the White House. Many of us are working very hard behind the scenes to encourage delegates and superdelegates to vote for you. We’re all donating more time, energy, and money than we can afford. And yet, we cannot afford to stand by and do nothing.
Please understand that millions of your supporters will never vote for Obama in November, no matter how much you might encourage us to do so. It has nothing to do with Democrat versus Republican. It’s about electing the best and most qualified person for the job. We aren’t swayed by individual issues, like Roe v. Wade. There are enough checks and balances in the system to protect us. We don’t feel we’re compromising vital goals, like universal healthcare. You could still achieve that working in the Senate, especially with your friend John McCain in the White House.
Your supporters are watching the candidates closely. Over the last few months, we’ve seen more and more to dislike and distrust about Obama. Conversely, in the short time since you suspended your campaign, we’re seeing more and more to like and admire in McCain.
Democratic party leaders would like to believe that we will eventually fall in line and vote for Obama in November. But it’s not going to happen. Every day, a growing number of people recognize that Obama is not right for our country. The Democratic Party cannot win the election with Obama as the nominee. Party leaders need to wake up and acknowledge that they made a mistake before it’s too late.
You are welcome to forward my letter to delegates and superdelegates. My time and money is limited, so I can’t reach as many as I’d like to. Together, we can reach a bigger audience.
Thank you for your consideration.
Hey andersen. I haven’t said “hey” in a while. Did you read, Obama: The Postmodern Coup? I highly recommend. It is a view from the left on the far left.
#139 Flasunshiner
Do you happen to know what else is in her chart and where?

Will you be in Denver??
92 hillstheone
Totally agree, I was very impressed at how well McCain did last night.
I think he is going to be the type of candidate that feigns weakness and when you approach with confidence he wells up and knocks you on your a##. LOL
I think citizens who will watch and listen to McCain, especially against Obama, they will certainly feel more secure and confident that McCain will make a better President.
Of course, I always say if Clinton is in the mix all odds change in her favor.
Has Rancho checked in yet? I was not able to make he meeting because i had a prior commitment, but wanted to hear if she did.
#150 halligan
you owe me a coke!
goanderson: if you go online & look under “astrology” and “Democratic Convention” quite a few links come up. I’ve done this twice now & both times I notice the astrologers say there is some confusion there as the exact birth times of both Hillary & Obama are not known. However I did see someone post that they were able to use a birth time based on something Hillary’s mother was quoted as saying so perhaps her info is better-known..
This has probably been discussed, http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/08/17/richardson-i-was-a-little-uneasy-about-a-clinton-roll-call/
So all Hillary will get is a symbolic rollcall?? Do they really think this sham will bring unity? This gets more outrageous day by day. What a slap in the face.
I think Denver will be smoking.. Have fun all of you who go!

Blush on! You deserve the praise. By the way, an overheated motorhome pulled off I-5 north of Portland the other day and set off a fire in the median, jumped the all six lanes either way and took the districts in the area, 3 hours to get under control. They had traffic backed up for 2 hours all the way back to Portland (20 miles) and southbound back up to Longview (40 miles to Portland). It was a mess. WSP (state patrol) was a bit behind on the traffic control. Egg on their race. Me thinks the interagency thing didn’t work very well (duh).

gypsey: “after the convention” – that’s a good question, I’ll need to ponder that. Betting FlaSunshiner will have some answers based on the planets, tho!
About the only things I know about astrology are:
* there’s 12 signs in the zodiac
* Saturn makes everyone miserable
* Moon in Libra is always a lover-ly nice time for parties
* Mercury retrograde means you better not start any new projects, make any important decisions but just finalize old projects, and back up your computer right-quick!
I just know that Hill’s going to be getting sworn in in Jan.
#161 Hillstheone,
It does get frustrating trying to sift throught the MSM stuff. I have several friends who are CNN junkies and believe everything as gospel. Just seeing Judas bringing it up made me a little nauseous. Funny thing just happened when I checked my spelling of nauseous on Dictionary.com , Obama’s ad came up. HeHe!
Firebelle: You totally deserve the praise, especially since I found out you are responsible for the lovely letterhead I am using with my prowls.

Lightening again in Portland tonight? We had the worst storm last night that I’ve seen in years. Course we’re about forty miles down the Columbia River and got the ocean air about 4 pm today. You folks probably are still getting the heat out of the gorge. Are you a firefighter?

Same here in my part of Texas. Lots of die-hard lifelong dems voting red this year, and proud of it . Whatever it takes to spare us the Obamanation. I think it’s this uncounted and un-polled group that will make the ’08 election a republican red landslide if BO is the candidate.
goanderson: you’re on.
Rancho: Yes I’m in Oregon, but am well-familiar with So Cal as I have family there. Haven’t been in a while though and also have friends in Santa Barbara, one of my favorite home-away-from-home places! LA has awesome restaurants…

You are probably psychic if you pick up on things that are similar to astrological predictions. You might want to explore that. I like to write down my gut feelings and “predict” from the gut. I make certain I notate the time and date also.
Astrology can predict the future, but we are in a powerful time right now. Pluto is the planet of generational energy. That is why this is so interesting…Pluto in Sagittarius is the Energy of the World and how the World wants to use Power. Very deep stuff.
I know Barry does not have a good chance at winning the presidency. If Dean would back off, Hillary can win the nomination.
139 goanderson
Hillary has a lot of energy as shown by the many squares involving Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Pluto. Her Venus in Scorpio square Mars in Leo indicates trouble with Men especially her Father. Barry is a Leo and is combative with her. Hillary is a strong Woman and some Men find strong Women intimidating.
During the debates between Hillary and Barry, I could see that he had to control his anger with her as he moved toward her in a threatening manner.
Hillary is used to a good fight, and she always comes out on top no matter what. Hillary is psychic as well.
187 hillstheone
I just know that Hill’s going to be getting sworn in in Jan.

I keep seeing Barry referred to as *61. What does *61 mean, anyway?
#185 Firebelle
Right! The poor guy in the motorhome was riding the shoulder and trying to get away from the fire. He didn’t realize that he was just igniting the median as he rolled.
Hills,
I say “holy smokes batman” all the time at work!!!
I THOUGHT BY GOING TO THE MEETING IT WOULD TAKE THE STING OFF OF NOT BEING ABLE TO GO TO DENVER, HOWEVER, AFTER HEARING ABT. SOME OF THE PLANNED EVENTS, I KNOW I WILL STILL FEEL SOOO LEFT OUT1

OK, thanks for telling me.
I suspect if Barry saw that he was being called *61, he’d get the “61″ right off the bat and then think that the “*” meant “Star in the East”
Flasunshiner,
Thanks for your post. You’re a very insightful person.
Do you think (based on their charts) we could get through to Dean thru Pelosi?
That’s been my thinking…

We’re not that far away from each other. Good work on the fire stuff and helping out with fire incidents. They need all the help they can get.
**** COULDN’T SLEEP *******
So Here I am posting this… we have got to use the power of the Universe and stop this negativity… I just know that when I consistently think about what I want from the Universe stuff starts happening.. from the book “The Secret”. If we consistently think and talk about what we don’t want we will get more of the same.
We have all been working so hard to change things and kept a positive attitude with our challenges and emails to Supers. And the Convention changed. Now we have to keep upt the positive work we are doing and not do wishful thinking, but knw that the Universe will supply what we need. We have to work at it though!
So let’s resolve to do the actions… keep positive in our comments and get it DONE.. for our country and for ourselves.
Enough said.
PattyR
I was in error. It was Roger Maris that hit the 61.

Firebelle, it was so funny. A magazine interview asked them “If you could be any superhero, who would you be?”
Well of course, our Mr. McCain being the forthright & usually candid guy he is, says right out “Superman.”
Obama? Well, of course, he can’t decide. And he’s always trying to please everyone (AsianforHillary called him a chamelon last nite, which cracked me up).
So Obama answered “Superman. And Spiderman.”
Too funny!

Well…Pelosi is a Cancer and they like security, money food and family. Pelosi is very insecure and she will gravitate to the strongest person…if she senses weakness in Dean or if she sees the tide going away from him she will have no problem telling Dean to shut up, and accept Hillary as the nominee.

That is the funniest thing I have heard all week! I will practice all the faces tomorrow. Thank you all so much. And thank you for the codex.

Thank you !
Night all! Meet you all in Denver in spirit or presence!!!
Even though you surpassed the weekend goal, I just gave a little gift, because if my (Irish) mom were still alive, she definitely would have. And, because Hillary is far more than ‘likeable enough.’ Here’s to the 19th Amendment! Hillary ’08! Darragh ’16! Give them ‘paws’ in Denver!
Shoot! I was almost #1 !!
anyway… this is about the most insightful and funniest line I’ve ever read during an election campaign:
“One factor causing Obama problems is that he’s not doing as good a job as McCain of getting folks in his party to vote for him. ”
LOLOLOLOL well, du-uh.
Goodnight all! Great job fundraising yesterday and today!!
I was just contacted to get the following article published, I modified a PUMA posting and gave it a catchy title. A political newspaper wants to publish it.
Did Obama fail Georgia?
The current Russo-Georgian conflict is serving as a critical test for the Presidential candidates. While John McCain has been releasing multiple statements on the conflict–calling on Russia to cease fire and seek reconciliation in the region, Barack Obama was largely silent on the issue, releasing a statement only after the White House announced new diplomatic and humanitarian efforts in the region, to call for the U.S. to “join our European partners in direct, high-level diplomact with both Georgia and Russia.”
While Senator Obama is sitting in Hawaii with a map trying to figure out where in the heck Georgia is, someone should remind Obama that he’s the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s subcommittee on European Affairs. This issue would clearly fail under the jurisdiction of Obama’s committee, especially since Georgia’s desire to join NATO and play an active role in the European community exacerbated the problem. In fact, the tension has been boiling for quite some time and Obama should have already taken action in his capacity as chairman.
The SUBCOMMITTEE ON EUROPEAN AFFAIRS deals with all matters concerning U.S. relations with the countries on the continent of Europe (except the states of Central Asia), with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the European Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
In 2002, Did Hillary Clinton have the foresight that Senator Obama appears to lack regarding Georgia? She gave a speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate, detailing her opposition to a pre-emptive attack on Iraq by citing some consequences:
“If we were to attack Iraq now, alone or with few allies, it would set a precedent that could come back to haunt us. In recent days, Russia has talked of an invasion of Georgia to attack Chechen rebels. India has mentioned the possibility of a pre-emptive strike on Pakistan. And what if China were to perceive a threat from Taiwan? So Mr. President, for all its appeal, a unilateral attack, while it cannot be ruled out, on the present facts is not a good option.”
Realizing the potential of such a significant foreign policy event is critical when serving as President of the United States. The fact that Senator Clinton was able to see this coming six years ago is remarkable and demonstrates the superior judgement needed to be President.
Meanwhile, even though the intelligence was available and the tension had been brewing, Obama didn’t bother holding any committee hearings on this issue. Is it because he was “too busy campaigning” or because he didn’t see it coming? Either way, it doesn’t build much confidence for how he would actually handle the most difficult job in the world.
Another article that is getting published. Key sometimes is thinking up a title with a hook to draw readers in.
Democratic Delegates worried about voting trends -
Money can’t buy them love
Democratic delegates and superdelegates are hearing from the American people loud and clear, our votes will count or else! Many people feel that the primaries were not fair to voters and are reminding delegates that they have an obligation to the American people to reconsider who their nominee will be at the Convention. Both candidates must be put into nomination so the delegates can vote the will of the people who voted in their states.
The American people are not stupid. We know that Obama came to the senate bearing monetary gifts to fellow democrats. We are aware that Obama gave large sums of money to super delegates to “buy” their support. We are aware that as the democratic convention nears, the Obama campaign is intimidating delegates and superdelegates to prematurely “secure” their votes for Obama and that they are also threatening Hillary Clinton with a highly funded opponent in the future. This is becoming public knowledge and Obama is dropping in the polls.
This is not the America that we want for our future, where our votes are for sale to the highest bidder. An America where delegates and superdelegates are “pressured” to declare who they will vote for before the convention votes are cast and where party leaders advise them not to sign the petition some delegates are circulating to have Hillary Clintons name put into nomination at the democratic convention.
Many Americans are prepared to take action against electing these same politicians that are enabling party leaders to put their will over the will and votes of the American people. Contributions from all over the country have helped to fund a signature drive for a candidate to run against Nancy Pelosi. This should be a signal to ALL democratic politicians that in the future, rhetoric and money will not “buy” your success when the will of the people is to defeat your election. Expect to be challenged, expect voters to be immune to rhetoric, and learn that money alone will not “buy” your success.
The Democratic primaries have opened up the eyes of many Americans. It has exposed the bias of cable news networks and the pundits to the point that Americans distrust them and are becoming immune to their rhetoric and spin. The American people are ready for a “change”, but just not the change that the democrats and Obama had envisioned. In the process of exposing those within the party that are gaming the system and the American people, Obama has exposed himself as the one of the most “bought and paid for” politicians of our time, who is scratching everyone’s back to “buy” his way into the whitehouse.

Hi PUMAs, sorry I have missed all the happenings tonight and will go to bed soon.
I have had this strange thought for days, what is the probability that Obama is being pushed into the election as a puppet President. His bandwagon certainly doesn’t want him for his experience, so if he is a puppet, who is pulling the strings? Don’t tell me Howie, his isn’t that intelligent.
Any thoughts?

I think local papers elsewhere might publish it, because Georgia is still in the news. Anyone motivated, give it a try. Let’s get whatever we can published. This is the kind of article local newspapers like to publish. Check the word count. Most newpapers take articles via email.

I think we’d have to credit the author to submit it somewhere. At any rate, I’m jammed up on a critical project right now and still have to get my delegate letters out tomorrow. So I’m going to pass for now.

Where did you get this article? Is it from a PUMA blogger or from the media? I would like to fax this to Hillary Clinton tomorrow and plead with her to not give up her delegates at the convention under any conditions.

**** COULDN’T SLEEP *******
I heard you on the radio the other night, good to connect the voice with the PUMA name.
The blog helps me cope when I can’t sleep and as the convention nears and the sliver of hope we have for Hillary gets pounded by the news, I get more fearful I am headed for a real bummer again like on June 7th. I am still hopeful but I don’t want to cry like I did that day.
I guess everyone is gone to the den and is asleep.
Sweet dreams.
Definitely yes billiejo. I’ve thought that from the beginning, the same as I think GB was a puppet set up to bring us to this point and get certain legislation passed. bo has some VERY wealthy backers behind him who don’t particularly owe loyalty to the US. Check out George Soros, Nadhmi Auchi, and there is one other I’ve spaced out. (senior moment
) George Soros is also behind most of the media supporting bo.
Hate to break it to you Billie but I went in DNC shop today and EVERYTHING has bo’s name on it. Ts, buttons, water bottles, even playing cards! A lot of money has been put into this in advance!!!!
Just had an epiphany as to a motive for why Richardson is so pro-Obama. I was just reading that due to term limits… he won’t be able to serve past 2010. That’s not too far away.
BO not only dangled the enticing promise of possible VP candidate in front of Richardson (which we are aware of) — but I bet Obama also dangled the promise of plans to eliminate term limits. I’m sure he’s already working on a plan to destroy the two term limit on the Presidential Office candidates (if he were to get in).
Forgive me if this thought has already been put out there… it’s something that just occurred to me for the first time… so I wanted to vent or throw it out there.
Billie Jo, I’m looking for the comment
Meanwhile, the information in this article about the web of people donating to the same delegates to change their support…..was part of the discussion on blog radio tonight.

[see also “Money Changes Everything” http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=pLPoV4diMjk
As Americans sat glued to their television sets watching the most hotly contested presidential primary in American history, pundits counted pledged delegates won in caucuses and primaries and discussed the highly prized superdelegates’ endorsements. Eventually it would be these superdelegates, Democratic officials, governors, and members of congress, who would determine the nominee, since neither contestant won enough pledged delegates in the 52 primary contests. What the pundits forgot to tell the American public was that these superdelegates were doing some counting of their own. They weren’t counting how many of their constituents had voted for Senator Clinton or Senator Obama, but rather how much money was being put into their war chests by the Obama campaign and the Democratic hierarchy. This money, moved from one candidate to another via PAC’s, would determine their endorsements and ultimately the nomination.
Since 1987, Nancy Pelosi has represented California’s eighth district– including most of San Francisco. An Italian American, Pelosi was raised on politics. Her father was a Congressman from Maryland and the Mayor of Baltimore. Pelosi was elected as Democratic Speaker of the House 2002. Pelosi shattered the glass ceiling in the House of Representatives when she was elected the first female speaker in 2007. A shrewd politician, Madame Speaker exercises a lot of influence over the members of congress. She determines Committee assignments and in conjunction with the DNC and Howard Dean decides how much money and support the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee gives to each member of congress in their bid for re-election.
In addition, Pelosi also contributes money directly to the congressional campaigns of certain candidates through her Political Action Committee “PAC to the FUTURE.” Her PAC receives money from other PAC’ s such as Service Employees International Union $10,000, American Bankers Assn $10,000, Sheet Metal Workers Union $10,000, International Association of Fire Fighters, $10,000, and Goldman Sachs 10,000. It also receives money from individuals. In the 2008 election cycle, the Center for Responsive Politics (www.opensecrets.org) reports that Nancy Pelosi’s PAC received 585,400 and contributed more than $445,000 of this to 59 congressional candidates. PAC to the FUTURE gave money to 38 incumbents and 21 challengers. Of the 435 members in the house, Pelosi gave money to 8.5% of them. Of the members who received money from Pelosi, 71% were men; only 29% were women. Only eleven percent of the female members of congress received support from Pelosi’s PAC. It’s disappointing that a female speaker did not symbolically make some contribution to all Democratic women in the house.
But even more important than the gender implications of Pelosi’s behavior was her impact on the Presidential election. Publically Madame Speaker did not endorse either Obama or Clinton in the Democratic Primary, but was she was anything but neutral. & nbsp;Pelosi gave money to the campaigns of thirty-eight members of congress, twenty-eight of these endorsed Obama; ten endorsed Clinton. Pelosi contributed to the campaigns of Obama endorsers almost three to one. Pelosi not only gave to a greater number of Obama supporters, she collectively gave them more money. Pelosi gave 250,000 to the campaigns of superdelegates that endorsed Obama and only 80,000 to the campaigns of superdelegates that endorsed Clinton. Money talks and Pelosi and her PAC spoke volumes….in shorthand. She may not have publicly endorsed a candidate, but the members of the House of Representatives knew she supported Obama.
Of the thirty-eight Members of Congress Pelosi gave money to, sixteen went against the grain for Obama. This means, their state voted for Hillary, their district voted for Hillary, yet they endorsed Obama. Why? Follow the money.
JOHN ALDER NJ $2500 from PELOSI ALDER endorses OBAMA
JASON ALTMIRE PA $10k FROM PELOSI ALTMIRE endorses OBAMA

GABRIELLE GIFFORDS AZ $10k FROM PELOSI GIFFORDS endorses OBAMA
BARON HILL IN $10k FROM PELOSI HILL endorses OBAMA
RON KLEIN FL $10k FROM PELOSI KLEIN endorses OBAMA
NICK LAMPSON TX $7500 FROM PELOSI LAMPSON endorses OBAMA
TIM MAHONEY FL $10k FROM PELOSI MAHONEY endorses OBAMA
JERRY MCNERNEY CA $10 FROM PELOSI MCNERNEY endorses OBAMA
HARRY MITCHELL AZ $10k FROM PELOSI MITCHELL endorses OBAMA
PATRICK MURPHY PA $10k FROM PELOSI MURPHY endorses OBAMA
JOE SESTAK PA $10k FROM PELOSI SESTAK endorses OBAMA
CAROL SHEA PORTER NH $10k FROM PELOSI SHEA PORTER endorses OBAMA
ZACHARY SPACE OH $10k FROM PELOSI SPACE endorses OBAMA
NIKI TSONGAS MA $10k FROM PELOSI TSONGAS endorses OBAMA
By endorsing Obama, all of these Members of Congress went against the will of their constituents, twice, at the state level and at the district level. Only two members who received money from Pelosi’s PAC went against the grain and endorsed Hillary. Is sixteen against the grain for Hillary and two against the grain for Obama a coincidence? Pelosi’s contributions to the campaigns of state representatives followed a similar pattern. Sixty-three percent of the state representatives to whom Pelosi gave money, endorsed Obama in a state won by Clinton.
Ten thousand dollars, PAC to the FUTURE’s typical contribution, doesn’t seem like a lot of money but besides getting money from PAC TO THE FUTURE, most of these members got contributions from other PACs. These contributions were most likely orchestrated by Pelosi and company since the overlap is too startling. Congressman James Clyburn from South Carolina has BRIDGE PAC. BRIDGE PAC gave money to all but two of these same members of congress. Steny Hoyer from Maryland has AMERIPAC. AMERIPAC gave money to almost every single one of these same members of congress. Typical donations from both of these PAC’S were $10,000. And then there is the NATIONAL LEADERSHIP PAC and the NEW DEMOCRAT COALITION, and of course there is the HOPE FUND owned by Barack Obama. All of these PAC’s donated an average of $10,000 to most of their campaigns. These young representatives got a lot of pressure to endorse Obama no matter which way their district or state voted. The voices of their constituents were irrelevant.
It seems Obama was just posing as a Washington outsider. But in reality—all the real Washington insiders Pelosi, Dean, Kennedy, Clyburn, Hoyer, and Kerry were on his team all along. Pelosi’s Pac might be named PAC to the Future, but it took direct action to purposely undermine the first significant female candidate for the presidency in history. In so doing, she pushed women back decades. Call Pelosi’s office at 415-556-4862 and let her know how you feel.

I couldn’t sleep either. I also believe he’s a puppet!! The article about Hawaii is scarey too. I think he has backers that would scare the heck out of!!
mzebest…with the law bush got passed, the president can declare martial law, shut down the supreme court, cease all elections, so term limits is moot if we can’t trust the person in the office. The president can also order national guard from one state to go into another state and enforce martial law. We can even have foreign troops come to help. All the governors opposed this law but it passed. Plus internment camps are being built and are under military control. If a person gets placed in one of them they are military prisoners and not subject to the bill of rights or other laws on the books. Can you sleep happy now????? I can’t!!!!! bo has to go!!!!

I am glad you post this about “The secret” . I have in my chart Hillary in the oval office.
The most we mention BO we are giving him power.
So we have to focus and visualize Hillary at the White House.

That is scarey as heck also. Bo “wants” to organize a national guard (army). Lord he scares me!!

The President has long been able to facilitate (or order) moving the National Guard from one state to another to deal with emergencies of various kinds.
The following is text from one of my books …
The National Guard (which is comprised of units from the Army and the Air Force) has both federal and state roles. At a federal level, National Guard units may be mobilized for war or to provide assistance during national emergencies (such as national disasters or civil disturbances).
When not mobilized or under federal control, National Guard units report to the governors of their respective state or territory (Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands) or to the commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard. At this level, National Guard units may be called into action during a variety of local or state emergencies, including fires, floods, storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, civil disturbances, hazmat incidents, and terrorist events.
I cant sleep either..
I subscribe to the puppet theory.. I think it goes all the way back to becoming a senator.
You may have already ready this, but he was handed his position by Emil Jones.. When I read what he said about it I thought to myself…this came from other people than just him..
Anyway here is the article
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/03/the_man_who_made_obama.html
Carrie, if you don’t wish to answer this, it’s okay. What made you uncomfortable that you began to question his policies?
Everyone has really enjoyed you coming onboard and you have been super with all the work you’ve been doing with YouTubes, etc.
I was a huuugeeee Obama supporter.
From day one.
But as soon as Hillary suspended her campaing. There was a whole other guy standing there.
Every single reason I backed him, he flip flopped on ..Faith based initiatives, IRAQ, then his FISA vote was the straw that broke my back!
But as soon as I came here I saw all of the things I should have been seeing all along, but whenever I would hear my sister Texas crumbling about them I would blow her off as someone who was buying into the stories put out to tear apart the candidate.
Now I know way better.
#300 Caracal Carrie
Interesting, Carrie. Thank you for sharing.
I gave Obama fair consideration in the beginning. There was a time I favored a Clinton-Obama ticket. There was a time I might have voted for him if Hillary asked us to.
Then came the Reverend Wright story. Human behavior is such that people tend to embrace the attitudes of others when they want to fit in, to belong, or to be liked. So I do believe that Obama embraces the hateful rhetoric of Reverend Wright.
But the real point of no return for me was when I realized how dismissive Obama is of everyone and everything that doesn’t serve his immediate interests. It’s exactly what I saw in Bush in 2000 and the reason I was so dead-set against him. The moment I saw the resemblance between Bush and Obama, it was over. There was no way I would give him any further consideration.
Carrie, that’s sweet. I think everyone appreciates that. This group is just super. I’ve learned so much about politics that it scares me (lol).
Keep up the good work!!
Honestly I didn’t even see the stuff that I do now until he had me so mad I stopped listening to the pretty words..
That whole Hope thing seriously got to me every time.
We’re Independents here. We really try to look at the candidates themselves and what they want for the American People. Hillary grabbed us. BO’s disrespect of Hillary turned us off pretty quickly. This was on nationalized TV!! When he gave Hillary the “finger”, I almost came off my couch. That was a “low-life” reaction.
People do want change…And people like Pumas are going to make it happen. Have always believed that since day 1. The change is going to go down in history about the American Pumas taking their country back!!
See if I would have seen that I would have gone crazy!
I can’t stand that stuff, but I used to get most of my news from the internet after it already happened.
Seeing how slanted the media is about Barack I missed everything!
I should try and get some sleep. Work comes very early.
I hope you get some rest!
See ya in the AM
Carrie, I’m out of here also. Sleep well. good nite.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMMENT I HAVE EVER WRITTEN OR WILL EVER WRITE ON THIS BLOG… PLEASE REFER OTHERS TO THIS COMMENT THROUGHOUT THE DAY, IN SUBSEQUENT COMMENTS… I AM BUSY WRITING YOUR STATE-SPECIFIC LETTERS TO THE ATTORNEYS GENERAL, TO BE COPIED TO OUR DEAR STATE DELEGATES PLEDGED TO HRC, TO LET THEM KNOW, WE HAVE THEIR BACKS…
***************************************************************************
DECONSTRUCTING DEMOCRACY AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
My Dear Fellow PUMAs,
If you are going crazy trying to figure out what’s happening with the Democratic Party, join the club. I’m not kidding. Join the club. Because it just hit me, the way to understand this Democratic nominating process is to think of The Democratic Party as what it is – a club. And the only thing that makes this club so special is that it was able to get permission from each of the 50 states to collect campaign contributions and put the names of the candidates it wants to hold office onto the state’s election ballot. That’s it. That’s all there is. Let me explain.
According to Party – or rather, club rules, presidential candidates are chosen at the club’s nominating convention. Afterward, the club submits the name of its candidate for POTUS to the appropriate state official in each state – usually the Secretary of State – as part of an application to get onto the state’s general election ballot, in compliance with that state’s laws. In fact, states only allow the candidate for POTUS chosen by a “major political party” to submit ballot papers so late in the game because club rules and by-laws require their candidates to be chosen at a “nominating convention.”
The club determines who will be its candidate for POTUS on the general election ballot through a vote at the convention by people it calls “delegates,” which delegates obtained that status through an allocation process set by the club. That is, the club places the names of its proposed candidates on state ballots in the primary and caucus elections and then, in exchange for receiving a specific number of votes in that process, the candidates are assigned a delegate to vote for them at the convention. Most state delegates are given a special status, called “pledged.” According to club rules, when these pledged delegates cast their votes at the convention, they should use their best judgment to represent the wishes of the voters based on whose votes they were elected. Historically, by counting these delegates pledged to each candidate, the club has usually been able to predict which of its candidates will end up with the nomination at the end of the primary and caucus process, since one candidate usually garners enough pledged delegates to surpass the number the club set as the requirement at the convention. But not this year. Neither club candidate – BO or HRC – was assigned enough delegates through the primary and caucus process to secure the nomination at the convention. Luckily, the club had in place rules whereby this deficit in delegates could be made up by special delegates commonly referred to as super delegates who get to cast their votes for either candidate at the convention.
The Democratic Party set up volumes of rules and by-laws that govern all these operations, with auspicious sounding titles like “Charter,” “Constitution,” “Model Rules to Delegate Selection Process,” and “Call to the Convention.” But here’s the thing about all these club rules: they can be changed at any time. According to club rules. So, if like me, you have read club rules and believe, as I do, that members of the club have not played fair throughout this presidential nominating process, am I saying there is nothing you can do about it? Hardly.
Remember what I said in the beginning: the state only lets the club get onto official state ballots as long as they follow state rules. And unlike club rules, when states make rules, they’re called laws. (TO BE CONTINUED…)

MountainSong, I will talk to you.
Lorelai, you understand that, the Democratic Party allocated these skewed delegate votes through the primary and caucus process. Do you understand now, this was the point all along? Remember, this is just a club that wants to get its candidate name printed on the state ballots to run for President. When is the film coming out? Before the convention?
Pamawo and Oneof18millioncracks, I cannot hold HRC accountable until after the convention.
nhforhillary, even though I had already read an article about her speech, reading your post, I still got the chills. HRC is clearly a great legislator; as to whether she is a great leader, I reserve judgment until after the convention. Because everything before that time could be pragmatism; but it comes down to principle after that.
Is anyone still awake?
yep…
OMG…
President Musharraf of Pakistan is resigning! He was staunch U.S. ally. Evidently, the party of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was threatening to impeach him. DID YOU HEAR THAT, BO? NOW YOU NEED TO LEARN A NEW NAME!

Hi, I’m from AUS, it’s evening in my time. I hope the McCain will come out with good statements as he always does, and BO uumm errrrr again.
Actually now that Musharraf is gone, BO probably says now US can go in Pakistan and attack the rebel head on.
Fox News – on the little ticker tape – BO brought in 51M in July……….does that sound right to you?
This is CRAZY!!

I think a good portion of that is from big donars.

Well, if you believe in astrology, there are some interesting speculations concerning the convention – re: Hillary
Sorry, on this thread…
#315 1gypsy4mc
The reality is in the details. I had a post yesterday with the analysis that cannot be complete until the FEC report comes out with the total debts involved.
But what is significant is that BO’s total cash on hand that went down from 71.7 to 65.8 million. So if he brought in 51 million, he spent 57 million. That must be a record of some kind. The numbers can also be padded by transfers from the BO “Victory” Fund.
324 Headclunker – I did read your post, but I guess I didn’t pick up on the $$. Shouldn’t the FEC already have the figures?
The July closing is due Aug 20
Thanks for the info…Let us know, ok?
I am watching

This link synthesized information critical to understanding – in part – why we insist BO is stealing the nomination. (Acquiescence is commission.) Please distribute this to everyone, everywhere. If people knew the truth about this campaign, they could no longer hate HRC for being a sore loser. (Of course, they would probably still hate her for being the legitimate winner.)
***** FROM “NOTES FROM THE UNIVERSE” ******
Just yesterday, I was taking some time off, soaring through the sky, spread-eagle style, flying between some mammoth cumulus clouds, when —BAM— I flew into a stork on a delivery run. Always loved storks, so simple, so accepting.
Felt bad for the poor fellow, so we flew together awhile and I chatted him up. I didn’t tell
I was the Universe.
You know what he told me?
He said there are no accidents.
“None?” I asked, feigning surprise.
“None.”
“Well, then, it sure was nice coincidence running into you like this.” And after sputtering a bit, he said there were none of those either.
“None?”
“Nope.”
I asked him how he knew so much about life, being a stork and all. And he said there was a little bit of the divine in all of us; focusing on any problem or question, the answer is drawn to you.
“Get out of here,” I told him.
“No, really. Take today. I was wondering where all these babies came from, when –BAM–suddenly, from nowhere, I just knew.”
MY COMMENT: It is no accident that we all have met for the purpose of helping each other focus on the the solution to … and to ma ke a difference in the world and each other’s lives.
This is just tooooo funny :

Hi All
What’s up?
Nobody is up yet
Well, we had a busy weekend so there allowed to be tired.
What I’m most concerned about is that the general election process will be corrupted; if the operation of the Primaries is any indication. The Democrats have taken Karl Rove’s playbook.
#339 mpdamon.
I think the RNC will have tricks of their own.
Ladyhawke , thanks for the link – I left my 2 cents
I wrote a much longer response , but ended with : “You can not trust the protection of our oceans , forrests , and air to someone whose positions change with the tides !”
Prowlland , I hope we do a prowl on that info . Hopefully we will get it to the media !!!! Can you include the link to where you got those records ?
Good responce Texas.
Mad – I’m almost hoping they do. But I’m afraid that everyone is in the tank. The RNC wouldn’t want to be accused of denying the Presidency to the 1st AA.
#343 mpdamon.
Most Republicans are voting for McCain so nothing to do with AA, I’m sure they would have voted for Rice had she run.
It’s the Democrats who are split.

Thanks , prowlland , sorry I didn’t look further up thread . Have you sent this to mama , maryland , and murphy and asked for a prowl ? I am going to do it anyway when I get back from cross country practice , but I hope everyone does it …

I think they will have something about DCC…not sure, something was said last night in the blog talk radio about a prowl. They where going to ask everyone to help with it,,,i hope Murphy gets the message.
#351 PROWLLAND
I noted as much as I could but missed a lot.
They said to send “polite” letters to DNCC/ Phil McNamara , but I missed the content of exactly what was to be said.
Have a good day everyone. I have a lot of road and desk work to get done this week so I can stay close to computer next week. Or should I say “glued”.
Need all the strength of this group I can muster to get through.
Will run in and out to stay ready for prowls! STAY STRONG
good morning Puma’s
Good Morning Everyone.
I dropped my letters to the pledged delegates off the post office to complete the weekend prowl.
I want to thank:
-Firebelle for the great ‘vote Hillary’ letterhead.
-Antifish for the delegates addresses…I used the spreadsheet to merge and make mailing labels.
- Anna7000 for a great letter to use as a template.
- PA Dem for helping me get it together.
And, all the other PUMAs for their motivation and support.
This letter is posted today on THE VILLAGE site.

An Open Letter to the Superdelegate
Dear Superdelegate:
As the Democratic convention approaches, there is growing evidence that massive fraud at caucuses has led to a distortion of the delegate count which produced the small lead in pledged delegates for Barack Obama. Well known is the DNC’s bizarre decision to hand uncommitted votes to Barack Obama in Michigan and then steal 4 additional delegates for him. Rumored and less well established is a pattern of fraud starting in Iowa and peaking in Texas but touching every caucus during the primary season. Much of this is documented in a report from Dr. Lynette Long : http://www.lynettelong.com/CAUCUSFRAUD/
Please look at her discussion about Maine: On February 10, 2008 Obama won the Maine caucus 59%-40%, a nineteen point victory. Yet, on January 8, 2008 Clinton won the neighboring state of New Hampshire by two points. In an October 2007 poll by Critical Insights, four months before the Primary, Clinton led 46% to 10%.
The fact that Clinton lost the Maine caucus is a mystery. No extra exit polls were taken to help determine what happened. Few reports exist about the Maine caucus. All data suggests Clinton should have won Maine easily. How does Clinton go from a 36 point lead in the polls to a 19% point loss in the caucus?
Dr. Long’s site contains many examples of intimidation, chicanery and outright foolishness that the DNC should have already investigated and invalidated caucus delegates selected in ways that contravened the Party rules.
That the DNC “is allowing” Senator Clinton’s name to be in nomination with a roll call vote, in reality it took thousands and thousands of letters to the DNC to get them to agree to something that is traditional and should not have required enormous pressure from concerned voters. Along with this has been a growing concern for fairness and continuing despair among the electorate about reports of uninvestigated fraud and deception. There are now films in production which confirm the patterns and document the abuses in the voices of the voters who witnessed fraud and corruption they never expected to find in this country. As they surface in the days before the convention, they will provide additional ammunition for superdelegates who must carry out their responsibility to elect the most qualified, electable Democrat. That electable Democrat is Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Voter

I added the comment that it just occurred to me that Obama’s acceptance of the fraudulent caucus results can be likened to an athlete “doping” in a sports event.

Oh no- don’t want her to be VP. This will not unite the party…what are they thinking?
From our paper this morning…The Columbus Dispatch
VIEWS OF OHIO DELEGATES
Unified party? Clinton as VP might do it
By Jack Torry
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
WASHINGTON — To the disappointed Ohio delegates pledged to Democrat Hillary Clinton, the decision by Barack Obama to allow a vote on her nomination at the party’s nation al convention next week in Denver is a good start.
But those interviewed by The Dispatch in the past few days say if Obama really wants to unify the party and win the key states of Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania, he should do what most concede he won’t: choose Clinton as his vice presidential running mate.
“It’s hard for me to understand why Obama would fear that,” said Billie Brandon, 59, a Clinton delegate from Mansfield. “Why not take advantage of her knowledge and experience?” Terry Carson, 57, a Clinton delegate from Bainbridge Township in Geauga County, said Obama “would have a much easier time capturing the presidency if he had Hillary Clinton
on the ticket. Her supporters would re-energize his campaign. It would be a pretty dramatic team.”
But with Clinton delegates acknowledging that Obama almost certainly will choose another Democrat, they head to the Democratic National Convention ready to switch their allegiance to Obama — some with enthusiasm, others with reluctance. And at least one who is not ready to back Obama.
“I don’t like Obama, to tell you the truth,” said Sandra Cleary, 58, a delegate from Wooster. “He doesn’t have any experience, and I just don’t think he knows what he’s doing. I don’t like the way she was treated, and I don’t like the way Bill Clinton was treated. They tried to make him out as a racist, and he’s not like that.”
But most of the Clinton delegates are ready to line up behind Obama.
Melanie Falls, 57, from Walton Hills in suburban Cleveland, admits Clinton’s defeat “was disappointing to all of us who supported her. However, I think we must have a unified party in order to take back the White House.”
Erin Sullivan Lally, 42, from Cleveland, acknowledged she has doubts about Obama, saying she has “strong feelings about his experience and his ability to win in November.” But she said he “can count on my vote.”
By contrast, Caroline Gross, 30, of Columbus, has had no difficulty making the move to back Obama. She said “they were both really great candidates. It wasn’t a huge disappointment to transfer my loyalties from Clinton to Obama.”
Obama and Clinton announced Thursday that her name will be placed in nomination during the convention. That will allow her delegates to call out her name in a symbolic gesture, even though Obama still will have enough delegates for the nomination.
“I think this is going to go a long way to clean up the ill will some of the delegates are feeling,’” said Kevin Malecek, 28, a Willoughby Hills city councilman.
Sandra Anderson, 57, a lawyer from Dublin, said that “placing her name in nomination is a terrific decision, and it will help those of us who worked their hearts out for Hillary Clinton to at least have that historic moment recognized.”
Peggy Tanksley, 51, from New Philadelphia, said that after a roll-call vote, “everyone can walk out of the hall and say it’s done and let’s get the work done.”
Ruby Gilliam, 85, from Minerva in northeast Ohio, predicted that the emotion of the Clinton delegates will sweep the convention hall during the roll-call vote, predicting that if Obama hasn’t already picked his vice presidential candidate, “I think Hillary will be his running mate.”
Even that symbolic move may not be enough. Brandon warned that if Democrats “don’t work this out, it will hurt us in the fall.” She pointed to a close Democratic friend of hers who has said she will not back Obama.
“Unless they can figure out a way to pull that together, I am worried about Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Florida.”
Others sound an even more pessimistic note. Tanksley, who works for the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association, acknowledged that “it will be a tough sell” for Obama in Ohio. “We might just pull it off. I think with enough work we can do it.”
But then she added, “I wouldn’t put my paycheck on it right now.”
Dispatch Public Affairs Editor Darrel Rowland contributed to this story.

Many Hillary Clinton supporters are worried that Obama can’t win key states without her.

Messin’ with the details is like trying to play tennis with a golf club, like trying to cook with yesterday’s hot stove, or trying to find meaningful new friends at the mall wearing a chicken suit.

I’m a tad skeptical about this poll. McCain should have gotten a boost from Saturday’s forum. When it was Hillary vs. obama, the margin of error was
-/+ 5% … now they have it at -/+2%. IMO, McCain is probably leading by a couple of points.

Obama: ‘I will win’
A confident Barack Obama raised an extraordinary $7.8 million Sunday at three California fundraisers, most if it in large checks to a Democratic Party committee.
“I will win. Don’t worry about that,” he said to the crowd of about 1,300 at his third event of the evening, according to the pool report.
He was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him “a leader that God has blessed us with at this time.”
Obama echoed some of the themes he discussed when he described Pennsylvanians as “bitter” and stoked controversy three months ago, but did so much more adroitly.
“Now, you want to win. And saying it doesn’t make it so,” he told the crowd. “It would be nice to think that after eight years of economic disaster, after eight years of bungled foreign policy, of being engaged in a war that should never have been authorized and should never have been waged, that cost us a trillion dollars and thousands of lives, that people would say, let’s toss the bums out. Toss the bums out, we’re starting from scratch, we’re starting over. This is not working.”
“So I understand why a lot of folks are saying, this should just happen. Why are we having to run all these television commercials? Why do we have to raise all this money? Just read the papers. These are the knuckleheads who have been in charge. Throw ‘em out. But American politics aren’t that simple,” he said.
“The fact of the matter is, at a certain point, when government has not been serving the people for this long, people get cynical. They tune out. And they start saying to themselves, a plague on both your houses. They are willing to consume negative information more frequently than positive information, for good reason. They’ve seen how promises haven’t been kept,” he said.

What a crock of bull … what we see is a lot of flip-flopping on obama’s part.
More bad news for the One:
McCain reopens the national security gap
By DAVID PAUL KUHN | 8/17/08
July’s NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll found that three in four Americans believe McCain can “handle” the role of commander in chief, while only 19 percent said he “cannot,” compared to a 50 percent to 42 percent split for Obama.
Less than two years after Democrats finally bridged the decades-long gap between the parties on national security issues, Republicans have opened it right back up — a shift likely tied to the party’s new standard-bearer John McCain and the perception of improvements in Iraq.
The reemergence of the national security gap comes amid the first headline-grabbing world conflict of the 2008 campaign — the Russian invasion of Georgia that highlights the potential for a dramatic military event to upend the political landscape, and likely aid McCain.
July’s NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll found that three in four Americans believe McCain can “handle” the role of commander in chief, while only 19 percent said he “cannot,” compared to a 50 percent to 42 percent split for Obama.
When asked which party is more capable of “dealing with the war on terrorism,” 40 percent of respondents to the latest NBC/WSJ poll said Republican while 29 percent said Democrat. The parties had been effectively tied as recently as January of this year, and the 11-percentage-point gap is the largest since 2004, the last year these numbers shifted so dramatically and, not coincidentally, the last presidential election year.

Rep.: Half of House Dems may vote Hillary at DNC
By: Amie Parnes and Ben Smith
August 18, 2008 06:28 AM EST
Rep. Loretta Sanchez says she’s happy for the chance to vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Democratic National Convention — and she predicts that as many as half of the Democrats in the House could join her.
Just how many former Clinton supporters will vote for the former first lady during the symbolic first ballot is anybody’s guess, but each of them will be called upon to do so — whether they want to or not.
On Friday, the Obama campaign confirmed that the floor vote in Denver, intended to assuage Clinton supporters still stewing over her narrow loss, will be conducted as a state-by-state roll call. Under proposed convention bylaws, delegates would be forced to register their votes on a tally sheet with the convention secretary — the rules could be altered or suspended before the start of the convention.
“By putting her name in nomination, you’re putting people on the spot,” said former delegate counter Matt Seyfang, adding a second potential drawback: “Having a roll call … just chews into your broadcast time.”
Lower-key options were available. For example, Clinton’s name could have been entered into nomination, followed by laudatory speeches, ending with her release of delegates to Obama and proposal that he be nomination by acclamation, Seyfang said.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the “mechanics” of the roll call vote are still being worked out, but he conceded that Clinton probably will garner many votes on the first ballot.
For Obama’s camp, the roll call is a ritual that will defuse any potential tension with Clinton or her supporters without affecting the outcome or the theater of Obama’s dramatic nomination.
Said Sanchez: “I believe there are a lot of supporters for Hillary among the superdelegates, especially now that they’ve agreed to place her name in nomination. I think half the House Democrats would probably be Hillary supporters, especially women. … I felt she was the most experienced and the best candidate and I still feel that way.”
Clinton herself has said she plans to vote for Obama.
A longtime Clinton adviser said it was “crazy” to guess at numbers but estimated that the former first lady would garner between 600 and 1,200 delegates — considerably short of the approximately 1,800 she had collected at the time of her departure from the race in early June.
“It’s a bizarre strategy,” said one Democratic strategist of the roll call. “It could backfire and show that her influence is waning. Chances are, she’s not going to have as many delegates vote for her on the floor as she had in the primary.”
Indeed, many Hillary diehards, including at least one member of the New York delegation, are reluctant to vote for Clinton after switching over to Obama.
“I think that most superdelegates, including myself, are going for Obama,” said New York Rep. Anthony Weiner, who campaigned with Clinton around the country. “I made my decision for Obama, and I’m not switching again.”
Other onetime Clinton backers are reluctant to reverse course for fear of angering their black constituents.
“My boss is totally conflicted about it — and pissed Hillary is putting us in this position,” said a congressional staffer for another New York House member. “We still haven’t made up our mind and I don’t know when we are going to.”
Another New York delegate, speaking on condition of anonymity, predicted that as much as 30 percent to 40 percent of the New York delegation would pick Clinton over Obama during the symbolic vote.
Obama’s decision to accept a roll call vote, which came after weeks of talks with the Clinton camp, doesn’t mean he’ll let the process get out of hand, observers say.
“The convention is about nominating Barack, so his people want to speed through the vote as fast as possible so it won’t take too much TV time,” said a Democratic delegate who plans to vote for Clinton. “They also want to avoid a scenario where she’s leading at any point.”

Good morning PUMA Family
There’s a talk going around Biden will be his VP. I remember what Biden said, “if they want an expert in Foreign Policy they have to vote for me as their President.” Is this another FOOT and MOUTH moment for Biden if he’s chosen as VP?
The problem with inexperience, you have to choose someone who has all the experience you lack to make you attractive to the voters. But we don’t vote for Vice President ONLY for President. The DNC have selected their own DEFEAT.

Plagiarism and Politics
Nobama and Biden have at least ONE critical thing in common:
In politics, accusations of plagiarism and in-authenticity are common. Many politicians do not even write their own speeches, preferring instead to delegate this responsibility to their speechwriters who come up with the pithy phrases, the three point rhetorical structures, and the punchy perorations which characterize discourse in the political realm. So effective are the rhetorical components of political discourse, that politicians–and/or their speech writers–are all too frequently tempted to borrow a phrase or even an entire discourse template.
A proven accusation of plagiarism can have serious repercussions for a candidate’s political ambitions. Just ask Joe Biden. His borrowing of a British politician’s campaign speech is perhaps the most famous instance of political plagiarism, illustrating both the dangers of unacknowledged language lifting as well as the extent to which one’s enemies will go to torpedo their opponents’ chances for success.

“The convention is about nominating Barack, so his people want to speed through the vote as fast as possible so it won’t take too much TV time****,” said a Democratic delegate who plans to vote for Clinton. “They also want to avoid a scenario where she’s leading at any point.” *****
*Since when is following the rules symbolic?
** Mighty gracious of the great BO for agreeing to follow the rules ONLY WHEN FORCED TOO!!
*** Can you say DICTATOR?!?
**** Yes, the world just can’t get enough of The Chosen One! Why spend precious air time on something so insignificant as DEMOCRACY !?!
***** Because they know it’s a real possibility that she will become the next DNC candidate if they play by the rules; They’re very afraid the Axelrod smoke and mirrors show has fallen apart. They are too aware that American voters have finally and very obviously caught on to the game they are playing.

Richardson and Edwards are both poor buggers, used and now not needed by anyone anymore. And Gore has disappeared too.
The Clinton Coup
The Obama campaign was in full spin mode this week touting its decision to allow Hillary Clinton to have a roll call vote at the convention so her delegates can register their support of her.

I really think the DNC is in for a shock once the vote hits the floor. LOL I’m gonna be dancing that night!
The article this past weekend where 15 SD’s expressed their views of support for Hilalry being in the nomination, I wonder if these are the 15 Will wrote about.

Speaking of MO’s speech : “Opening up, it says, ‘We will be your first family, and this is what we represent,’ ”

Oh Heaven forbid she should have a little humility, if MO open up her speech with “We will be your first family…” instead of,
We would love to be your first family….
It seems to me that the Obama’s must have studied that book “The Secret” very well..
In essence it states, you are what you think you are, thus act as if you already are….
And that is where MO’s opening line comes from…. acting as if you alread are….
We will be your first family…LOL way way to funny!

arrogance is going to be his down fall…
FOX did say that Hillary’s supporters demanded she have her nomination and roll call!! So yes, I’m sure it was the PUMAs and other Hillary Supporters that have made a difference.
In April, at another fundraiser in this prosperous, liberal city in Northern California, Obama made his infamous remarks about bitter small town voters who “cling” to guns and religion. Rivals used those comments to brand him as elistist.
Obama avoided any such characterizations this time but did say many voters are angry and confused. “The fact of the matter is, at a certain point, when government has not been serving the people for this long, people get cynical,” he said.
ANGRY maybe CONFUSED not one little bit this guy just is so STUPID

What is the role of the DNC? To just sit back and turn it completely over to him? More proof of their incompetence and biased behavior. And, is anybody besides me tired of Obama’s whining about Corsi’s book? I’m reading it, and a lot of it is quoted from the book that Obama wrote “Dreams of My Father.” If this book is so full of lies, why doesn’t he just sue for libel? It has to be because the facts are there. And, last, does anybody besides me think that BO’s new hair coloring is just simply hilarious?

RESPONSE I RECEIVED TO ONE OF OUR EMAILS FROM TOM BLACKWELL TEXAS DELEGATE:
My fellow members of the Texas Delegation to the 2008 Democratic
National Convention have received a number of messages from people who
have signed up with the PUMA organization. We understand PUMA PAC is
registered as a 527 Organization with the IRS. It has a web page at
http://www.pumapac.org, and is also described here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_United_Means_Action
We have been asked to continue our support for Senator Clinton.
I met with Senator Clinton months before the campaign started, and told
her that when it was her turn to run for President that I wanted to do
the same things for her that I did for the Gore and Kerry campaigns.
Since then she has not disappointed us, and has offered policy
initiatives so many Americans are hungry to see. I think Senator
Clinton could not only be our President, but a beloved President. It’s
something the country has not had in a very long time. I’ve carried out
my part of the bargain, and will continue to do so.
We have been asked to “treat her historic address to the Convention on
August 26th with the full honor and respect it deserves.” I agree to do
that. I look forward to the address and know that fellow Clinton
supporters with me at the convention and at home will listen carefully,
and will do the things she says. At the same time I want to know that
everyone who signed up with PUMA will listen to her message, and do the
same.
As I write this the nomination proceedings are not legally concluded for
the offices of President and Vice President. Nominations for other
important offices, including those in the United States Senate, have
been decided.
We are impressed with the time and attention and care for Texas that has
been demonstrated by those involved with the PUMA organization from
other states. We have heard from a number of people we have never met
before.
Our nominee for the United States Senate is State Representative Rick
Noriega. He has received our nomination, and that matter is settled. I
want to direct those who care about Texas to become involved with his
campaign, and donate to his campaign. He has a web page here:
http://www.ricknoriega.com
Noriega’s opponent, Republican Senator John Cornyn, has been campaigning
for re-election along with his principal supporter Dr. Wendy Gramm. She
is a former member of the corporate board of ENRON. John McCain has
appeared on the same stage with them in their campaign. McCain, Cornyn
and Gramm bring a vision for America that is the same kind of vision
offered by Enron. Those kind of policies have caused residential
electric rates in Texas to increase to 2 and 3 times the amounts paid a
few miles North of us in Oklahoma. This is even though the people of
Oklahoma are complaining about high electric rates, and there is no
question that electric utilities are making money there. Political
insiders with this kind of vision have other plans in the works to
double residential water bills.
Cornyn and McCain are about redistributing wealth from the mainstream
economy, to people who act like they are on the board of ENRON.
Noriega is a Harvard graduate who went on to Army service in
Afghanistan. A recent poll shows him running just 2 points behind John
Cornyn. Now it’s up to us to give Rick Noriega’s campaign the resources
he’ll need to reach every voter in the 254 counties of Texas.
Clicking here and making a contribution will impress those of us who
have spent many hours working for Senator Clinton in Texas, including
those who will be voting on the nomination of the next President and
Vice President of the United States:

It sounds like Tom Blackwell is acknowleging Pumas and also continuing his support of Hillary Clinton. He is also pushing support of Texas state senator Rick Noriega. This was a response to one of the mass emailings we did. He included the copy of my email.
#446 Prowland – I don’t know what he did, but when he went to Hawaii he didn’t have any gray in his hair, but when he came back, it was stylishly gray at the temples. I heard somone say his advisors wanted him to look more mature at the Saddleback forum. Whether he’s naturally gray and covered it up to look younger, and decided that wasn’t working, and started coloring the gray and then flip-flopped and decided to start adding gray, and that’s not working either — I don’t know, either way, I think it’s too funny.

“Clicking here and making a contribution will impress those of us who have spent many hours working for Senator Clinton in Texas . . .”
What do you make of that? Is there an “official” PUMA stance on this?
I’m happy to help if it’s a “pumaprudent” thing to do.
#460 texassherry
Yes, I agree.
I think he’s politing saying he’s behind Hillary and lets see what happens on the floor. But then it seems he is saying do whatever Hillary asks at the convention, as then it really matters. I’m reading into it that whatever we hear between then and now doesn’t matter. He’s saying what she says at the convention is really what matters.

He wants Texans (me included) to support Noriega. Have already done numerous calls to his office and left my telephone number – no response. He does not have my vote! If Blackwell really supported Hillary, then what is he doing about the voter fraud in Texas? What is he doing about the Delegates that were stolen from Hillary? What is he doing for the fact that Hillary won Texas, but lost it to BO??
Tom Blackwell is a delegate. I’ve met him. Nice guy.
I, personally, am making no financial or verbal endorsements of ANY delegate / SDelegate until after the convention.
It is my intention to secure a list of the official vote and then go after the election/reelection of those who went against their constituents, broke the law, or flipped when it was important.
IMHO, those delegates are responsible to the people, not HRC. They were elected based on the votes of their people and should have stuck to the choice of their people. I have no sympathy or tolerance for those who bite the carrot dangled in front of their donkey noses and are led around.
I’m posting this without having read all the posts above yet (but I will read them), so if I’m duplicating what someone else has reported, please excuse me. I wanted to report that I received a very nice, civil reply to my email to a Texas delegate (Tom Blackwell) acknowledging that he knew of us and was impressed by what we are doing. He also got in a plug for Rick Noriega who is running against John Cornyn for the Senate. I wrote him a very nice reply. It was a pleasant way to start my puma day.

Showdown at Saddleback
Obama made no big mistakes. But his tendency to somewhat windy generalities meant he wasn’t particularly compelling. McCain, who went second, was crisp by contrast, and his anecdotes colorful.
….But it was confirmed the next morning. NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reported on “Meet the Press” that “the Obama people must feel that he didn’t do quite as well as they might have wanted to in that context. … What they’re putting out privately is that McCain … may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama.”
There’s no evidence that McCain had any such advantage. But the fact that Obama’s people made this suggestion means they know McCain outperformed him.
Spoke to God this morning.
I asked: Do I now need to be listening to Nancy Pelosi’s message that Obama was sent by YOU to become our President?
I was told: “Forgive them for they know not what they do.”

#465 TrishfromCanada ,
My thoughts exactly. I think that the delegates that support her will do whatever she tells them to do at the convention. What we don’t know for sure is what happens next. If she wins the nomination will she accept it? Will she give all of her delegates to BO? Will delegates or supporters get mad and walk out? Will Bill Clinton tell them to kiss his a**? I don’t think anyone knows for sure what will happen but I do think that there will be some kind of disruption. I know for sure that there will not be complete party unity.
#469 MountainSong…I agree about MO…Here is an interesting article about Cindy M.
McCain’s Better Half
By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Thursday, May 01, 2008 4:20 PM PT
Election 2008: Cindy Hensley McCain has been disparaged as a trophy wife, a Barbie, an heiress with fancy purses, even the Paris Hilton of politics. But there’s more to the picture than meets the eye.
——————————————————————————–
Yes, Mrs. McCain is the perfectly coifed blonde standing dutifully behind the senator during his speeches. And yes, she wears stylish clothing and carries a Prada purse. And it’s true she doesn’t say much. But feminist critics who write her off as a ‘stand-by-your-man’ shrinking violet are selling her short. In many ways, Cindy McCain stacks up sturdier than Hillary Clinton (I personally don’t agree with this) or Michelle Obama. And she’d make a more impressive first lady.
Mrs. McCain: More than meets the eye.
While Obama’s wife has been hating America, complaining about the war and undermining our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, McCain’s wife has been worrying about her sons who actually are fighting or planning to fight in the war on terror. One, in fact, was until a few months ago deployed in Iraq during some of the worst violence.
You don’t hear the McCains talk about it, but their 19-year-old Marine, Jimmy, is preparing for his second tour of duty. Their 21-year-old son, Jack, is poised to graduate from Annapolis and also could join the Marines as a second lieutenant. The couple made the decision not to draw attention to their sons out of respect for other families with sons and daughters in harm’s way.
Cindy also says she doesn’t want to risk falling apart on the campaign trail talking about Jimmy — who was so young when he enlisted she had to sign consent forms for his medical tests before he could report for duty — and potentially upsetting parents of soldiers who are serving or have been killed.
The McCains want to make sure their boys get no special treatment. Same goes for their five other children, including a daughter they adopted from Bangladesh. During a visit to Mother Teresa’s orphanage there, Cindy noticed a dying baby. The orphanage could not provide the medical care needed to save her life. So she brought the child home to America for the surgery she desperately needed. The baby is now their healthy, 16-year-old daughter, Bridget.
Though all seven McCain children — including two Sen. McCain adopted from his first marriage — are supportive of their father, they prefer their privacy to the glare of the campaign trail. Another daughter, Meghan, 23, helps him behind the scenes.
Cindy McCain not only cherishes her children, but also her country, which in an election year filled with America-bashing, is a refreshing novelty. She s eethed when she heard Michelle Obama’s unpatriotic remarks that she only recently grew proud of America. ‘I am very proud of my country,’ Mrs. McCain asserted.
She also may be tougher than the other women in the race. While Hillary thinks she’s come under sniper fire on mission trips abroad, Cindy has actually seen violence. She witnessed a boy get blown up by a mine in Kuwait during a trip with an international group that removes land mines from war-torn countries.
Mrs. McCain also is a hands-on philanthropist. She sits on the board of Operation Smile, which arranges for plastic surgeons to fix cleft palates and other birth defects. She also has helped organize relief missions to Micronesia.
During a scuba-diving vacation to the islands, Mrs. McCain took a friend to a local hospital to have a cut treated. She was shocked, and saddened, by what she saw.
‘They opened the door to the OR, where the supplies were, and there were two cats and a whole bunch of rats climbing o ut of the sterile supplies,’ she recalled. ‘They had no X-ray machine, no beds. To me, it was devastating because it was a U.S. trust territory.’
As soon as she returned home, she arranged for medical equipment and teams of doctors to be sent to treat the island children.
Michelle Obama may contribute to CARE, which fights global poverty and works to empower poor women. Cindy sits on its board.
While the Democrat women talk about helping the poor and needy, Cindy McCain actually rolls up her sleeves and does it. Who’s the out-of-touch elitist?

I agree. Please post that list when you get it. I want to make sure that my vote in November reflects what has happened in the primary.
Does anyone know where I can find a complete list of PUMA activities in Denver?

WTF? That article is infuriating!
“The convention is about nominating Barack, so his people want to speed through the vote as fast as possible so it won’t take too much TV time,” said a Democratic delegate who plans to vote for Clinton. “They also want to avoid a scenario where she’s leading at any point.”
TV TIME? You have GOT to be kidding me.
“I think that most superdelegates, including myself, are going for Obama,” said New York Rep. Anthony Weiner, who campaigned with Clinton around the country. “I made my decision for Obama, and I’m not switching again.”
Oh, I gotta take a walk, go shopping for school stuff, get away from this BEEEEEE-SSSSSSSS for a while.
I mourn our democracy when it’s all about saving face and not ‘angering the black constituency’. What about the REST of us?
#462 texassherry on 08.18.08 at 11:33 am
I just noticed that, Texas.
———
Reason I asked is because not being from TX I don’t know T Blackwell’s backstory, but here’s my interpretation, (for what it’s worth):
I think he’s trying to flatter PUMA (get our attention, make us receptive to his message), feign love, loyalty, support for Hillary (to get our trust), but there’s a hidden subtext in his email, I believe….
He says:
“We have been asked to “treat her historic address to the Convention on August 26th with the full honor and respect it deserves.” I agree to do that. I look forward to the address and know that fellow Clinton supporters with me at the convention and at home will listen carefully, and will do the things she says. At the same time I want to know that everyone who signed up with PUMA will listen to her message, and do the same.
Sounds like what he’s really saying is: He’s going with the DNC Hillary Clinton Supporter Appeasement Program (thinks it will be enough to make us happy) but he expects Hillary to tell her supporters to go for BO, unify the party, elect a Dem POTUS and he is reminding us to do that.
Clues:
“I met with Senator Clinton months before the campaign started, and told her that when it was her turn to run for President that I wanted to do the same things for her that I did for the Gore and Kerry campaigns.”
He’s saying: “I will support Hillary, but NOT NOW; I will do it when it’s HER TURN!”
He’s afraid that Dem downticket candidate Noriega is in danger or losing election agst Repub Cornyn, so he’s trying to pack a double whammy and get you to associate Cornyn with Enron (don’t know enough about Cornyn’s involvement with Enron, so I can’t comment on the legitimacy of this claim)…..and to then associate McCain with Cornyn, Enron, the “rich stealing from the poor/middle class to give to the rich,” etc.
May be true of Cornyn, but McCain has fought hard to bring ethics back into govt, get rid of corruption in govt and in corporate America.
In any event, it sounds like they’re very afraid Clinton supporters aren’t going to fall in line behind Obama, even if Hillary asks them to, so:
1. He’s trying to weaken any support for McCain, by creating doubt in former HRC supporters (so maybe they’ll stay home, not vote – thus at least NOT HURT Obama’s chances.
2.He’s afraid DNC stance IS ENDANGERING DOWNTICKET DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES! So he’s trying to do damage control.
Read his subliminal text carefully….these guys are trickly little snakes.

Please please, whoever hasn’t read this post, please take a couple of minutes, you won’t be sorry.
nhforHillary, I’ll stop typing and start applauding you, now…
Morning all, I also received an e-mail letter from Tom Blackwell. I will wait and see what happens.

Your looooong post is stuck in moderation. Can I delete it since it appears it’s already been posted and discussed?

Sounds like more Obama-style blackmail to me. I wouldn’t do it. Tell him you’ll see how the convention goes and if Hillary is nominated, you’ll consider contributing to Noriega in the future!

We are working on getting a draft schedule out as we speak. Will post when it is ready.

That koolaid must be like that new, more humane rodent bait – gives them a sense of euphoria – just before they “die”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Still laughing five minutes later!
#488 BrooklynNY,
You could be right. I think we will all know for sure after the convention what is going on. We will then know what the next step will be. I am sure that this next week we will hear all sorts of things and be getting a lot of pressure to do what Hillary says at the convention. These people just don’t seem to understand that we are not blind followers like the Obamabots but have minds of our own. This will be a long week… sigh…
Just words
Thanks!!!
If anyone didnt get to see it..
DITTO on this one, please all read, 270 and 271 require media attention.
Please, someone do it, I don’t have the time.
(please forgive me if someone is working on it, I’m catching up on reading posts and have only gone so far as 271.)
I can’t believe they are letting that woman out of jail before the little girl is found. But alot of things have been unbelievable this year.
I agree. There is no limit to the possible outcome scenarios…. Whatever it is I have no doubt it is going to be one hell of an historical convention! There is just NO WAY to predict what will happen. Talk about a cliff-hanger!
Prowl done! That was a lot of fun! Ha!!!
The chosen one, Senator Obama, has decided that noone outside of his crew has the right to express their right to free speach! Anytime someone atempts to criticize or clarify the chosen one, they are labeled a liar or racist! Its funny that the chosen one’s camp would complain about media not doing their jobs, maybe that’s because he thinks your job is to spread his agenda to the world! He thinks its your job to support him and fall in line! I know its laughable, but what can you expect. I, as a PUMA PAC member, will not fall in line, I cannot support an empty suit or the DNC that pushed him on us! I applaud any news outlet that can and will cover the negatives of this candidate or any candidate for that matter! Anyone who plans to lead the greatest country in the free world is going to have to stand up to intense and sometimes extreme criticism and scrutiny! The chosen one cannot handle this because under intense scrutiny one finds just an empty suit!
Thank You,
James
prowl done…peace
Prowl accomplished….
It seems one cannot do anything for the DNC without them asking for a donation…. They should go and ask George Soros and Oprah for more money. They know how to filter their millions through the masses in their churches and corporations.
I just saw on fox news that Denver police have a shit load of detention cells for protesters of the convention. They must be expecting trouble by the number of make shift cells. Everyone who is going to Denver please be safe.
Here is an article that was posted on AOL blogged this morning and I thought I would share it with you. Please read it, it may answer a lot of your questions.
LOOK what Russia thinks about OBAMA.
LOL~~ I have no doubt it would prolly be free room and board for me if I was in Denver. Sometimes standing on our beliefs isn’t so comfortable.
Hey all — that prowl sneaked up on you didn’t it?
Sorry I’ve been bean counting this morning — and I’ve posted WONDERFUL news upstairs.
Please keep PROWLING and calling and bragging today.
Showdown at Saddleback
*******************
It is apparent that whenever Obama does not do well, which is more often these days, they try to accuse others of cheating.
They have a very bad case of pointing fingers. You know when you point your finger accusingly at someone, three fingers are pointing right back at you accusing you of projection.
ie., we do that (cheat), he must be doing the same thing.
Amendments to the Constitution of the United States
Amendment 1
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Murphy,
I hope I read the prowl right. This is the letter that I submitted to that website. I forgot to sign it puma…sorry.
Dear Editor:
There has been a lot of talk about the book Obama Nation by Jerome Corsi that contains information about Barack Obama.
The Obama campaign claims that the author is fabricating lies in his book. Although I have not yet purchased the book I have read exerpts that have been printed on the internet. From what I have read I know that at least some of the information is factually true because I have done my own research.
I would recommend the book to anyone wanting to research the candidate because it gives a lot of information and it’s sources for people to look into.
The Obama campaign has already been caught in lies such as the phoney birth certificate that was posted on his site (now removed)so it is our responsibility as voters to find the truth on our own.
Aye, Aye, mon Capatain, I forgot that those DONC’s also have a new Birth Certificate. Just like their selected precious.(smile)
A 2007 Associated Press photograph taken by Tatan Syuflana, an Indonesian AP reporter and photographer, surfaced last week on the Daylife.com photographic website showing an image of Obama’s registration card at Indonesia’s Fransiskus Assisi school, a Catholic institution.
In the picture, Obama is registered under the name Barry Soetoro by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The school card lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His religion is listed as Muslim.
Jack Stokes, manager of media relations for the AP, confirmed to WND the picture is indeed an AP photo.
After attending the Assisi Primary School, Obama was later enrolled at SDN Menteng 1, an Indonesian public school.
Obama’s campaign did not return repeated WND phone calls and e-mail queries the past week asking for a clarification regarding the school documentation listing the presidential candidate’s citizenship as Indonesian.
507 TEXS4HILLARY ~~~Jesus!!!! No wonder guns have been selling like hotcakes this year.
Barack says he ‘will win’. I really don’t think so.
McCain Campaign Officially Complains to MSNBC on Media Bias after Saddleback (specially against Andrea Mitchell’s coverage).
Don’t know if anyone heard this, but FOX just reported a little while ago that the McCain campaign officially lodged a complaint against NBC/Andrea Mitchell for media bias.
Mitchell reported that McCain was late to arrive the Saddleback debate site and that he “cheated.” He was late so he could hear what Obama was saying before it was his turn.
(Thank you John McCain! It’s about time someone called that ugly duck a duck!
If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, it’s a….”
I think the two books written about Obama may be far more effective than guns in November.
I really liked what someone posted earlier—that we own our own votes, and are not ‘bots’ like Obama followers. If Hillary says she wants us to support Obama, I’m afraid I would no longer support Hillary.
Voted not to endorse BO and told them why (untrustworthy and cannot win).
330 bmw60 ~~~ I don’t know where you are getting them, but you are coming up with some absolute gems in your postst!! Thank you so much.
Today’s prowl. I don’t know enough about Corsi’s book to make informed comments. I have been mostly away from our site for a week for family obligations. Now I need to catch up.
Is there a site that discusses Corsi’s book, perhaps highlighting the salient points?
Must the prowl provide comments referring to the book?
309 jbjd ~~~ I look forward to talking with you.
Today’s Prowl Entry:
I am reassured that someone has FINALLY taken the time to summarize all of the concerning items in Barack Obama’s background.
Clearly, the mainstream media was predisposed to develop their “school-girl’s crush” on this charismatic, yet unqualified candidate. Once smitten, reporters failed to ask any of the questions that we, as voters, needed to make an accurate assessment of Barack’s curriculum vitae.
Senator Obama is a product of corrupt, rough-and-tumble Chicago politics. His association with numerous unsavory, anti-American individuals brings his judgement into serious question and his experience is glaringly lacking.
Thank you, Jerome Corsi, for having the guts to expose this unvetted, unqualified pawn of the radical Left.
Murphy,
I got this link in my email this morning. I think we should do one prowl and only to the superdelegates that are in this video.
Sounds to me like Obama and Pelosi bought the nomination.
I knew I liked Cindy I have liked her ever since I found out she was an animal lover. I even had jokingly put out on the blog one day that I would like to see her as Hillary’s vice president when people were sometimes throwing out there a team up of Hillary and John McCain as being better than Hillary and Obama.
The Obama camp and Andrea Mitchell are accusing McCain of cheating and listening to the questions. It is killing the that McCain and figure out what a question is by just the first part of the question. Obama tanked and the only way they can side step that is to lie about McCain.
#466 TRISH – Reference Tom Blackwell – I, too, got that email and I agree with your thoughts – however – I got even deeper – he infers that HE will do what Hillary requests and us Pumas should fall in line as well – methinks he is thinking that she is going to support Gollum and we should as well – I think its a trick – and what a double whammy if we went along and supported his man. IMHO
