According to Politico, Hillary Clinton will NOT be the keynote speaker on August 26th at the Convention in Denver. She’ll be speaking, of course, but don’t call it a keynote. Barack Obama’s speech in 2004 on the second night of the Convention in Boston WAS billed as the keynote, so I’m not really sure what the difference is here. I mean what is it about Hillary Clinton that is different from any of the other past and present luminaries in the Party who have been invited to give key (er, I mean important) addresses to the delegates and viewers at home? Oh, wait — that’s right. So does this mean her speech will only be reported on in the Living Section of newspapers and will only be aired on Lifetime TV? (Apparently the DONC has someone even bigger and better and more important and more awesome and more amazing and more fabulous than Hillary to give the keynote. Oprah? George Clooney? Ludacris?)
Another story continuing to make the rounds is that the Obama Movement and the DONC are FRANTICALLY trying to hold the increasingly restive Clinton delegates in line. A delegate in Colorado was forced to seek legal representation when the Colorado state party started making moves to strip her of her status and replace her with an Obama loyalist. In Kentucky, delegates are being told to shut up, sit down, or lose your seats. And we all know about Ed Rendell’s machine-style message to the Pennsylvania delegation: Get on the Unity Bus and proceed directly to the seats in the back.
And best (worst?) of all, on Monday, according to sources, the DONC delivered this message directly to Hillary: RELEASE YOUR DELEGATES OR FACE A WELL-FUNDED PRIMARY OPPONENT AND THE PERMANENT ENMITY OF THE PARTY. She told them to take a long walk off a short pier, apparently. But just the same, wow. Primary Hillary Clinton? The landslide winner of her Senate reelection? The most popular Democrat in America? A phenomenally successful Senator? What in the wide, wide world of sports is going on here?
I don’t know about you, but I smell desperation. . .

Check out this New York Observer article by Jason Horowitz. It’s pretty good. I wish he hadn’t invented that I said the Democratic Party needed to be destroyed and Obama’s supporters “purged.” The vast majority of Obama’s supporters are regular every-day Democratic voters — we need to be united. Never in 10 million years would I ever use the word “purge.” That is a loaded, provocative, and menacing word. I don’t think like that and I don’t talk like that. However, the article overall, despite the snark undercurrent, paints a picture of pretty widespread dissatisfaction inside our Party with the Precious. Comments most definitely needed.

I have been trying to find an email sent to me by the Obama campaign that said on the 2nd? (maybe 3rd) night the new VP would be speaking..I was bummed about it at the time because Hilary was supposed to speak the night before and I was hoping then (dont kill me it was the kool aid) that she would be vp. I really hope now that is not the reason they changed her speech. The whole thing really makes me sick to my stomache.

Calif. lawsuit challenges McCain candidacy

SAN FRANCISCO (Legal Newsline)-A John McCain presidency would be illegal because the Arizona senator was not born in the United States, says a lawsuit filed this week by the American Independent Party.
The minor party says it wants McCain’s name removed from ballots in California because federal law would bar the former Vietnam War POW from taking office were he to be elected in November, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.
Article II of the U.S. Constitution disqualifies McCain from assuming office because he was born in the Commonwealth of Panama in 1936, while his father was stationed at Coco Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone, the lawsuit contends.
The American Independent Party claims it will be “irreparably harmed by Senator McCain’s illegal and illegitimate presence on the ballot.” The plaintiffs in the case want McCain enjoined from running for president.
Also named in the lawsuit are the Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party. The lawsuit argues the GOP is engaging in “unfair competition” by putting forth an “illegitimate” presidential nominee.
“The harm sustained by being forced to compete against-and potentially be defeated by-and illegal and illegitimate campaign cannot be monetarily remedied nor can it be remedied after the November general election in any manner,” the petition said.
The lawsuit was brought by Markham Robinson of Vacaville, Calif., chairman-elect of the American Independent Party. The AIP has nominated author Alan Keyes for president.
Keyes was appointed ambassador to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations under Republican U.S. President Ronald Reagan, and served as assistant secretary of state for international organization affairs from 1985 to 1987.
The plaintiffs are represented by Gregory Walston of the law firm of Walston Cross of San Francisco.

Once again, I will say this. Most of this rests with Hillary–all she has to do is call a press conference and it would all be over. I cannot reach her, but tomorrow I will work on it. PREVENTING STATE DELEGATE HARASSMENT
(about last night…)
Late last night or, more accurately, in the wee small hours of the morning, Taffy and I had a productive exchange about how PUMAs in individual states can help to support their HRC pledged delegates who are being pressured by the state party to switch their allegiance. Please re-read that exchange and see if there is anything you can do in your state to help those people. (Any questions, put them up here and I will answer.)

The DNC is missing a great opportunity. The nation is weary of scripted victory parties instead of real conventions. This year it would be completly appropriate to have an open convention with all of the floor fights and excitement. The nation would hang on every word, and the suspense would boost the eventual winner to the heights of popularity.
It is time to follow the rules and let the natural course of events take place. Hillary supporters like us are not going to give in. If Hillary is eventually completely forced out of the running, we will not vote for the agressors.
The only solution to this discord is an open convention with a real winner, fair and square, no shuck and jive, no behind the scenes puppet mastery.

For the sake of protecting this delegate from some of the abuse and threats other Clinton delegates have experienced, I won’t post his name or contact information. But I will post what we wrote.

I’ve read of your recent support for placing Senator Clinton’s name in nomination at the Denver convention. Your efforts are very much appreciated by millions of us who want Hillary as our next President and will never vote for Senator Obama under any circumstances.
I’m enclosing a copy of the letter I wrote to Hillary today so that you’ll understand why my friends and I will vote for John McCain if Hillary is not the Democratic nominee. I hope you will convey our feelings to other delegates who have yet to be convinced that Senator Obama is not fit to be our President.

This is the letter I sent to Hillary yesterday:
Dear Hillary,
I’m writing to ask that you allow your name to be placed in nomination at the Denver convention. And if you receive the most votes, I ask that you accept the nomination for President.
You’ve been a dutiful Democrat, publicly supporting the presumptive nominee. However, no matter what you say or do, you will not convince me or my friends to vote for Barack Obama. If you are not our nominee, we will vote for John McCain in November.
My friends and I gave Obama fair consideration in the beginning. There was a time we favored a Clinton-Obama ticket. There was a time we might have voted for Obama if you asked us to. All of that is gone. The more we see Obama and listen to Obama, the more we dislike and distrust him. Most of my friends and I describe him as “scary.”
We don’t want Obama anywhere near the White House, where he will undoubtedly bring ruin to the United States. We don’t want him anywhere near you either, where he would undoubtedly ruin your political career. Even if you were nominated on the condition that you take Obama as your Vice President, I wouldn’t be comfortable. You don’t need to be tarnished by Obama’s considerable baggage. And I would fear for your safety daily, knowing how desperate Obama is to become President no matter what it takes.
There are many reasons why I won’t vote for Obama … and why I will instead vote for John McCain in November if Obama is the nominee. For the sake of brevity, I’ll cite only my top four … the real deal-breakers, the ones that no one, not even you, can argue against.
First came the Reverend Wright story. It’s human nature to embrace the attitudes of others around us when we want to fit in, to belong, and to be liked. Thus there’s every reason to believe that Obama embraces the hateful teachings of Revered Wright, despite his insistence to the contrary.
I find Obama to be dismissive of everyone and everything that doesn’t serve his immediate interests. I first noticed this when he refused to do additional debates with you, even though voters in upcoming primaries wanted to hear more debates. But now I see it in all of his actions. It was the same trait I saw in George Bush in 2000. It’s that very same dismissive tendency that led us into this horrible Iraq war. Obama would be just as dangerous to America and the world as George Bush is.
Throughout the primary season, Obama kept saying, “I welcome that debate with John McCain.” Yet he has repeatedly refused to do the ten town hall debates that John McCain proposed and that many voters would like to see. This, more than anything, reveals to me Obama’s character. It tells me he’s not a man of his word, that he cannot and will not reach across the aisle to work with Republicans, and that he doesn’t believe in transparency in government. It tells me that he fears John McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his rhetoric. And it tells me that he’s afraid to speak without a teleprompter and the scripted words of the DNC puppet masters.
Finally, I think Obama as President would spell economic disaster for the United States. I began fearing his economic policies when I saw how he would often outspend you by two-, three-, or four-to-one, but you consistently got more votes per dollar spent. Much fuss has been made about your campaign debt, but you know how to “do more with less.” John McCain, too, knows how to do more with less. He was nearly counted out last summer, yet he came back to win his party’s nomination on a shoestring budget.
Meanwhile, I see Obama spending obscene amounts of money on things that do little more than feed his ego (e.g., repainting his airplane and creating a phony presidential seal he had to abandon because of so much negative publicity). Obama spends money recklessly, as do many people who suddenly come into unearned wealth. I fear that he would be extremely wasteful with taxpayer money, and that America and Americans alike would be plunged into far greater debt than we have ever seen if Obama were President.
Again, I pray that you will be our nominee after the Denver convention. I sincerely believe it’s the only chance of getting a Democrat in the White House this time.

What is going on in the DNC? For the first time in the history of this country, a radical socialist faction has finally taken over one of the two major political parties in this country. That is what is and has been going ON.
And, THAT IS WHY THEIR CANDIDATE MUST BE DEFEATED IN THE FALL. They have and will continue to register and try to register anything, anyone. I think something is going on, the youtube, Bill’s remarks, Wolfson taking his lasest remarks all over the place, the campaign emails. Not sure what but something is in play. I do worry the above mentioned is a message to the DNC that the Clintons will move forward IF they dont get what they want. But that goes back to “what does Hillary want”. I worry she wants VP. I hate to say it. The released ‘emails’ also make Hillary look like she took the higher road over recommendations of her campaign. Puts her in a better light when it comes to Bo. I know a number of Hillary supporters who turned BO after she went negative. Question is the numbers, of course. I for one cannot vote for Hillary as VP to BO.
Knowing that Bill and Hillary are much smarter than I, I am sure I’m sooooo off base and they have something much bigger going on. Besides I would hate for Dicky Morris to be right on this one!

There are pros and cons to having a “thread-categories” (or Forum-software) format here (like, it may dilute the energy of the ongoing free-form “chat”, etc). But as we have it now, navigating hundreds of posts for relevant info can be tough and frustrating sometimes, especially in our busier days (It can be overwhelming coming home from work to find over 1,000 posts to go through!).

HOW TO STOP STATE DELEGATE HARASSMENT IN STATES WHERE STATE LAW REQUIRES THEM TO VOTE FOR THEIR CANDIDATE
PUMAs from OR and GA,
State laws in both OR and GA require committed delegates to vote for ‘their’ candidate on at least the first vote at the party convention. (See yesterday’s postings from Taffy and me for references.) Contact the HRC delegates in those states to offer your support. Suggest they could walk right into court to get immediate injunctions (or restraining orders) telling the state party to stop encouraging them (read, extorting) to violate state law – and cite the law – by switching their votes before the convention. If they are not comfortable with that, they could write cease and desist letters to the head of the state party, with a copy to the S of S. And contact the S of S directly to complain about the conduct of the party. Follow up in writing, with a copy to the head of the state party. And alert the press.

Years ago I wrote a long letter to Hillary regarding her treatment in the press over the issues with her husband.
My friends told me it was too long and that she would not even get to read it.
Today, I cherish a letter received back from her in response to that letter. It addressed several things I said in my letter and she personally signed it.
I am not saying that she sits down and immediately reads every letter the day she gets them.
But, I beleive that what her supporters have to say is important to her and it is obvious that you took the time to express that you are more than an “admirer”. You are deeply invested in both the outcome of this election and her welfare.
I have heard that her staff has always put stacks of personal letters in her office and that she goes through the stacks and reads as many as she can.

She is an advocate of the same heretical so called theology as Wright and Cone. I hate to tell all these people but Liberation Theology emanated from within the Catholic Church . It was denounced by two popes and priests in Central America who advocated it were silenced. It was denounced as a Marxist based deconstruction of Scripture and a reduction of theological truth to political radical action. Calling liberation theology, black, green, or applying it to anyother groups does not in anyway change its heretical nature. If the Church from whence the very concept of this socalled theology emanated , has deemed it in total error, the fact that the so called theology has leaked out over other denominations and its spiritual pathology infected them makes them and it no less a disgrace before God and a danger as a social and political vehicle.

Governor Rendell is one of the smartest politicians I have even seen. Long story short, when he was the Mayor of Philadelphia in the late ’90s, the Nation of Islam threatened to launch massive social protest after several incidents of what appeared to be race-based crime in the city. In order to stave off the prospect of creating even more civil unrest that could threaten the public safety, then Mayor Rendell arranged a conference with representatives of the Nation, including Min. Mohammad, son of the founder; and Louis Farrakhan. Leaders of the sizable Jewish community condemned him for negotiating with Farrakhan, whose vitriol against the Jews is well known. Anyway, Rendell managed to appear on stage with these men and, while never addressing Farrakhan directly or, even mentioning his name, he did laud the Nation’s attention to family. In the end, there was no massive demonstration; and peace prevailed.
I do not believe for a second his support of HRC has waned, any evidence of political pragmatism notwithstanding.

I am stewing over all the people I know and like who actually believe XO can do all the things he has promised.The way XO tries to gobble up everything in site like a gluttonous, spoiled little brat. Well, I usually have a couple of cups of coffee before I write my first outraged e-mail, but not today. I’ve already written an e-mail in response to the essay I cite below. I’m posting this opinion piece I was sent, as I am signed up to receive e-mails from “Women’s E-News.” Usually, they send out news items of interest to women. Today, they sent out this essay. The person who wrote this piece, Ms. Combs, is certainly allowed to have her opinions, but there should have been a counterpoint and there wasn’t. That’s the fault of the “Women’s E-News” editors.
Ms. Combs writes about the racism she faced when she grew up and I think it is awful and worth discussing. Where we diverge is when she states that the Clintons made racist comments and that Americans have shown themselves to be racists. This, despite of the fact that close to 18 million people voted for Sen. Obama. It also upsets me that she, in essence, calls the Clintons racists without citing an episode to substantiate that claim. To my knowledge, Sen. Obama also didn’t experience the poverty that she speaks of in this e-mail.
To comment on this message please write . In your comments to them and if you post comments here, please do so in a respectful way. I don’t agree with most of what Ms. Combs has to say, I know she has incorrect information, and I don’t appreciate that she tries to scare women into voting for BO, but everyone deserves respect.

“Sisters, This Is an Election We Can’t Sit Out”

Editor’s Note: The following is a commentary. The opinions expressed are those of the author and not necessarily the views of Women’s Enews.
(WOMENSENEWS)–Near the end of the primary season, some of Sen. Barack Obama’s black supporters circulated an e-mail about boycotting the general election if Obama was not the Democratic nominee.
I knew this would never happen. Black voters are in too much trouble to sit this one out. There’s high unemployment, sub-prime mortgages and a broken public education system to consider. Nonetheless, on a personal level, I knew I would be wounded deeply if Obama did not win.
Could I swallow my anger at what I considered to be racist jabs thrown by Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign? Could I overcome the pain of being confronted with the unequivocal fact that large numbers of primary voters were not ready for a black nominee?
And what about the mainstream media that gleefully repeated every rumor and nasty innuendo about Obama and his wife? Politics divide. That is a given. I would love to say I could put aside my bitterness and put on my big-girl panties. I hope I could have done it, but we’ll never know. My candidate won.
But we can all still be troubled by public rancor and downright ugliness. I saw it during the primary, but I must admit that I was so tuned in to the first viable African American candidate that I missed much of the sexism. I was so furious with Clinton by the close of the primary contest that I turned the volume down each time she came on TV.
Sound familiar?
Racism’s Deafening Pain
I watch three news networks, including Fox. I read political Internet sites and blogs. I spend lots of time talking politics. However, it was not until Clinton’s supporters began to express their grief and anger that I heard some of the egregious things both said and done. I wonder what made me so hard of hearing?
I’m still working that out. This political race has forced me to try and separate the ways I have experienced sexism and racism. A recent medical experience caused an epiphany.
I had a steroid injection in my back to help manage chronic pain. When I got home, I found that my shoulder hurt. When I called the nurse, she said this was common; that our brains can only process a certain level of pain. That the pain in my back was all my brain could bear, until that pain was relieved.
Is it possible the pain of racism makes it difficult to process someone else’s pain?
The visceral, gut-wrenching pain expressed by Clinton’s supporters is real, and at least in my case, has caused me to confront my own response, not just to the challenges of the primary campaign, but to sexism and racism.
I reject the notion that we should settle for racist or sexist remarks as acceptable political discourse. Each time I hear a talking head tell me about political races that have been nastier and bitterer, I am offended. Why should we accept that the lowest common denominator is the norm? Still, if we only feel the pain when it is our candidate (race, gender, religion . . .) we will never rise above our own stuff, and the promise of a fair and just society cannot be achieved.
Unspoken Agreement Among Women
Reflecting on the primary, I realize there was an unspoken agreement among the women in my circle that we could discuss politics in general, but not which side we were on.
It wasn’t until the primary was over that I knew my own sister supported Sen. Clinton!
Among my friends, particularly white women, we sensed that our unity was too tenuous to support the issues this campaign brings to the surface. As committed as we were, and are, to our respective candidates, we recognized that the work we do together for the benefit of all women is too important to jeopardize.
Clinton sisters, I feel you. I know how it feels to lose. I know how it feels to have a dream deferred. I know how it feels to believe that your time has come, only to have someone else take your place.
In third grade I was bigger and taller than most of my classmates, certainly blacker. I remember standing in line for recess when I heard my teacher call me a “big, dumb nigger.”
On more than one occasion I have walked into a courtroom in rural counties only to have the bailiff yell at me to get behind the rail, apparently unaware that lawyers look like me.
I recount these experiences not because I dwell on them, but because they shaped me. I could recite a litany of such experiences, but what I hope you understand is that I know how it feels when your dream gets kicked around.
Paying a Price to Sit Out
But if anger and disappointment cause some women to sit out this election, other women will pay the price.
Think of elderly women whose pension and Social Security checks can’t stretch enough to cover food, medication and rising utility bills. Obama’s plan eliminates income taxes for seniors making less than $50,000 and cuts the cost of prescription drugs by allowing imports. Sen. John McCain’s campaign senior adviser Taylor Griffin says, “Sen. McCain believes this is so important that we do not politicize this debate during an election season.”
Think of youngsters like my 16-year-old daughter and her friends who, with the hubris of youth, fall in and out of love and make poor life choices. Supreme Court justices nominated by McCain will certainly overturn Roe v. Wade.
In my congregation, several young mothers are raising families on their own. Neither they nor their children have health care. McCain voted against reauthorizing the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provides crucial coverage to children in many working families that really need it. Obama’s plan ensures medical coverage for these families.
Obama has experienced the pain of growing up in the home of a single mother on food stamps. His Blueprint for American Working Women and Families includes paid sick days for low-income women and flexible work arrangements for working moms.
Perhaps the outcome of this election will not change your life in any meaningful way.
Perhaps you are financially stable and can’t see how this election could impact your life. Maybe there’s no threat that your job could go overseas, or the value of your home could plummet. Could be your daughter or son will never need to rely on a Supreme Court ruling for life or liberty. If that is the case, I hope you know how blessed you are.
My prayer is that you will consider the rest of us. The women and girls who suffer the slings and arrows of this economy and who flinch each time they see that the price of a gallon of milk has increased since the last trip to the grocery store. Please come home for our sake. We need you.

I’m at work and mentioned to a co-worker that I may be taking vacation to go to Denver. It’s known that I’m a Hillary supporter since I have a sign in my office (with no plans to take it down). Upon hearing that, another co-worker came up to me and said “what do you think you’re doing? You need to get over it and move on?”
I said, “excuse me!?!?!”
The co-worker then politely asked about Hillary’s name being on a ballot. While explaining the ‘democratic’ nomination process, the co-worker cut me off to say that Hillary and her supporters are tearing this party apart.
I said, “we aren’t the ones” and had to walk away because she was yelling.
If I was into betting, I would bet the Republicans pull out all the stops if XO wins nomination. One of the first things they will do is expose MO for the racist she is.

From a 63 yr old, black female supporter of Hillary, thanks. I knew I would not vote for Obama after the awful debacle in SC where while accusing the Clintons of racism, Obama himself used race-baiting tactics to win SC and further his campaign. Obama had won IA, lost NH, lost Nevada, he had to win SC or risk being out of the race if he didn’t win this overwhelmingly black participating democratic primary. At this point Hillary had a 65% black support in SC. Obama had to rip these voters from Hillary’s hands, thus he played the victim of race on comments that in no way could be consrued to be racist. He was helped in this effort by Donna Brazille and Jim Clyburn of SC. Because I am retired I was able to closely watch his effort unfold. I marched with Dr King. Obama dishonored all who helped in the civil rights struggle and dishonored King. For this I despise him and will never vote for him, ever. I grew up during the James Brown “I’m black and I’m proud” era. I can not be proud of him becomming the first “black affirmative action nominee” due to the actions of the DNC and the super delegates.

Sunday April 28th 2008 the Rev. Jeremiah Wright came to Detroit Michigan to address the Michigan NAACP. He gave a sermon with a very focused message, vote Barack Obama and I am not a racist. Well after listening to his sermon and taking time to absorb his oration, I am astounded at just how insulated Rev. Wright must be, ethnically, socially and culturally or is that just what he aspires for his followers?
Apparently the esteemed Rev. Wright has missed a large part of the world I live in. The world I live in is full of color and individual variances, we have blue, green, pink, red and any other color of hair we have people with a lot of cranial accessories (facial jewelry), we have heterosexuals working alongside homosexuals that do not experience discrimination and vice versa, we have white and black and brown and any color you can image that attend church together, work together, we live along side each other, we travel together, our children go to school together, we are involved in our community together, we dine together, we walk through the same doors, we drink from the same fountains. America has been changing, apparently Rev. Wright has not rather it would seem he has hidden from progress.
Rev. Wright was correct about one thing, “different is not defective”. Guess what Rev. Wright. Most of America already knows that and lives it everyday. Although it appears the esteemed Rev. Wright has segregated himself and his community to the point that this concept is new to him. I am going to go Rev. Wright one better, different is not defective different is delightful. Rev. Wright different is beautiful, colorful, and interesting and in this day and age it is not discouraged it is encouraged.
Despite his constant subliminal Vote for Barack Obama “Change is coming” messages, it was apparent rather than seeking unity and progress he was using the art of phraseology and the beautiful spirit filled exuberance of the black church to put emphasis on his underlying message of separatism.
My roots are not in Africa, my ancestors were, my neighbors roots are not in Europe, their ancestors where, my roots are in America. I am a person of color, but I am a American I am not an African and make no mistake my loyalties lie with America Rev. Wright. I do not wish to separate myself nor my family from America I do not wish to see a black America and white America and yellow America and brown America.
Rev. Wright I grew up on welfare in “the projects”. I am now a college graduate a wife and mother of 2 children. I will not teach my children to look for injustices because if they cant make it in this world and rise above the unfairness we all experience in life it is their own deficiencies not societies. If you teach children to look for injustices they will always find them and they will always see others of another color as out to hold them down, with an attitude like that they will never find successes.
I do not now nor have I ever nor will I ever tolerate Ebonics in my household, while we do not speak the English of England or Europe we do speak, in this house, the English of America, because Rev. Wright we are American’s in this house. I am personally sick and tired of hearing all about the mother land Africa, yes our history is beautiful and colorful and sad and frightening and bright and vibrant but my mother land is America my ancestors mother land was Africa. I will tell you what apparently other blacks don’t want to tell you or are afraid to tell you, if you feel so strongly that big bad whitey is out to get you and the mother land Africa needs so much help then you should leave you mansion in Illinois and go to Africa and do your nasty separatist work there.
If you read the above comments perhaps you ought to look at the videos below to learn about how the Convention is run so you are educated before you pretend to understand what WE women are talking about… It is not about disappointment!!!

Reasons I now support Mccain 1) I respect Mccain, Obama not so much, 2) Supporting McCain hits Dean and the corrupt DNC where it really hurts. Nothing else will hit them as hard. 3) I can always switch back to Hillary if somehow she is the nominee. In my state there are no obstacles to this 4) after Obama loses, Hillary can run in 2012. 5) if Obama does “win without us” as his zombie supporters claim, older whites will no longer be relevant in the Democratic party. Expect future nominees to be even further in left field than this one.

jbjd I am in Oregon and did contact my Oregon delegate who was listed as a traitor. She has assured me that we are correct, that it would be illegal to switch her vote and that she has no intention of doing that. She will be working for Obama after the convention however.

You are correct that it is contrary to party rules as well as being illegal for me to cast my pledged vote for Senator Clinton, unless otherwise legally released from my pledge.
As far as encouraging others to violate the rules or violate Oregon law would really be counter to any political or personal interest.

As far as the meat packing jail cells they have set up in Denver , if the historical (during the primaries and more recently ) actions of the xo supporters holds up , THEY will be the ones filling the cages . THEY are the ones who threaten , harrass , intimidate , and physically assult people . NOT Pumas . Speaking as someone who has been involved in many protests , including some that have gone very wrong ( Detroit Free press ) I can tell my fellow pumas the best thing to do is DO NOT ENGAGE . Many of the larger protest groups often have ‘security’ type members who wear an armband and place themselves between the members of their group and counter protesters . The armband folks are people who are trained to deescalate violence and to keep thier members from getting overly zealous and emotionally charged . I am sure that the organizers of the events have made arrangements for all aspects of this demonstration . Just remember , Pumas if all else fails , SIT DOWN .
This just keeps getting worse. I’m hoping and praying that Obama picks Hagel for VP. Think of it. He’s not supportive of womens rights, gay rights and is skeptical of “global warming”. Barbara Jordan was someone I respected. She was an articulate spokesperson for the Constitution. I wrote and posted the following on another blog in early June and would like to include it here.
Barbara Charline Jordan was a member of the House of Representatives (Texas) from 1973 to 1979. She was bright, articulate and saw many key issues very clearly. She gave a speech in support of the Articles of Impeachment against Richard Nixon. Part of what she said was:
“Earlier today, we heard the beginning of the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States: “We, the people.” It’s a very eloquent beginning. But when that document was completed on the seventeenth of September in 1787, I was not included in that “We, the people.” I felt somehow for many years that George Washington and Alexander Hamilton just left me out by mistake. However, I think after all the rantings lets focus on one thing: Obama doesn’t get elected. Hillary needs to be put in nomination as is tradition.

Freddiebrown, your ruminations are right on target, the way I see this is that the first objective is to get Senator Clinton’s name placed in Nomination in the First Roll Call.
If that is not or will not be possible, then the second objective is to make sure Obama does not get elected, that will tell the DNC, the RBC,Pelosi, Dean, Reed, Brazile et al., that is the rights of the citizens of America to vote for a leader and it is not their job to select (CROWN) a leader.
However, if Senator Clinton does have her name put in Nomination and she loses then each Puma has to search their heart and vote according to their personal convictions. Then the question may be is it Country over Party or visa versa?

I Potter – perhaps Murphy is busy but I think you are right. We need to put our heads together. We need to send the same nice heartfelt hand written letter to all the delegates.
1) the ones that supported Hillary – tell them Thank you from the bottom of our private citizen hearts and not to give up. Our country is too good to give up on
2) the ones that DID NOT support Hillary – tell them what this election means to you. Tell them that you understand they voted Obama but you as a private concerned citizen wanted him or her to know that
you cannot vote for him. The reasons are too many but the one and only important one is that you feel that he is not right for the country. Have California delegates been pressured, as far as you know? Does CA law require delegates to vote at the convention for candidates to whom they are pledged? Has the CA state party adopted the DNC model delegate selection rules? (Probably they did; these are the rules I posted yesterday that say according to the party, committed delegates should (not must) follow the candidate at least through the first vote at convention.) I’ll get back to you after your answer.

In Kentucky, delegates are being told to shut up, sit down, or lose your seats. ny puma – unfortunately, i think she runs just as much risk of being toast in the future if she signs. i don’t envy her right now. the pressures from all sides must be unbearable. the way i see it, if she doesn’t have her name placed in nomination, she risks alienating her most ardent supporters and the 18 million who voted for her (though i think it’s fair to assume that lots of those have shifted to obama and feel little investment in hillary’s name being placed in nomination at this point). if she has her name placed in nomination it sends a mixed message as far as why she’s been bothering to support bo by campaigning for him and appears as if she’s trying to keep the party divided. as such, she runs the risk of losing power within the party and in congress, hence, once again, toast. i see no easy way out for her. i would assume that at this point, being a politician, she’s trying to figure out which is the less risky bet. my gut tells me she’s going to go with the party line, but i hope to god i’m wrong.

Why would Puma become meaningless, PumaPac has a mandate and we are currently trying to fulfill those instructions.
If Puma decides to explore another challenge, ie, Restore proper Rules and Bylaws appropriate for a Democratic Party, then it will attract those that believe in that new mandate.
Nothing anyone does is ever meaningless, it effect everything, just like the PumaPac et al, they will leave their huge impression on the political scene. Hopefully it will be for the betterment of all.

mountain song – his campaign uses every possible juncture to maximize building their base and getting work and/or money out of people. even this whole thing of joining with them to be on the list of those who will presumably be the first to know via e-mail who his vp pick is wants something from you. when i got that solicitation/announcement in the mail yesterday, i was so exhausted but just typed back to them: “How childish.” As someone posted here several days ago about this whole way he will PRESUMABLY announce his vp, it’s like the guy just can’t do anything in a normal way.
that said, I think it’s reasonable to assume, at least in speaking for myself, that some of what he’s doing in terms of campaign strategy is clever and we likely wouldn’t mind if it were hillary doing it, such as texting people to vote on election day. But, you know? when you really really really dislike someone, after a while, anything and everything they do is painted in a negative light. I know it’s gotten like this for me with BO and I know some of the things I can’t stand wouldn’t faze me if it were only hillary instead of him doing them.

Thanks for clarifying HRC’s speaking role at the convention. I’ve been trying to point out that I don’t ever remember a primary rival making the keynote speech at a convention so I didn’t think she was ever planned to be the keynote speaker, especially since the convention theme is susposed to be all about MLK and the AA movement.

That’s why I wanted to share.
For those worried that Hillary won’t agree to sign the petition, I say we shouldn’t worry. She stands firm in her belief that delegates and her supporters deserve to have their voices heard. The rest is up to the delegates. If she gets the votes, it proves us right. If not, Hillary will graciously support Obama. Not what we want to see, of course. But it will placate Obama and his ilk.
For those upset about what’s happening regarding the acceptance speech at Invesco Field, I think it’s great. Obama is pissing off more people by insisting that people volunteer for him if they want tickets. That increases the potential for him to lose support. Keep it up, Obama.

hillaryistheone – i don’t interpret her actions as asking her supporters to do anything, though i can certainly understand someone interpretting it that way. ambiguous to me. as far as her pledged delegates go, i wouldn’t expect she would release them since there was a lot of time between when she suspended and the convention and i think any politician in her position would have to be out of their mind to go so far as to release her delegates. she has to have known that any number of things could happen in the interim and she wouldn’t have wanted to paint herself completely into a corner.

I get a little tired of journalistic wannabes trying to make a name for themselve by slamming us but here is the letter I wrote to this little nat!
It is hard to know where to begin discussing your article. Perhaps it is because it is so full of tunnel vision, misquotes, less than factual accounts, and misrepresentations.
Clearly, you are just another journalist (for lack of a better word) who just doesn’t get it. This movement is not about getting Hillary Clinton elected. It is about protecting the country we love from the internal force (Obama) who will destroy America as we know it. The perfect example of this is his involvement with the DNC (renamed ONC) where they substituted their 30 votes for 600,000 American votes and selected Obama as the Democratic nominee. I assume you are an America and somewhat literate, why are you not concerned about what Obama and the DNC did? It is a sign of what Obama will bring to this country if elected.

You are correct, I posted the rules laid out by the DNC for the votes at Convention a few days ago. These came directly from the DNC website, all the information is there under ask Dr. Phil. Delegates are not bound to vote for either candidate, they can chose their own vote. While it is normal that they vote for the candidate they were assigned (for lack of a better word), legally they are not required. These DNC rules void all state rules. This includes the 1st vote.
I can repost this information when I get home from work if anyone is interested.

Dear Governor Rendell,
I’m writing as a Democrat and a Hillary Clinton supporter to let you know that I was both appalled and dismayed by the memo sent out of your office regarding your attempt to coerce pledged delegates to cease collecting the signatures necessary to place Senator Clinton in nomination at the convention.
Governor, during the primaries, I watched you campaign with Senator Clinton and watched your appearances on television, fully convinced that you were a man of strong principles and a loyal friend. Though I was not familiar with you prior to that, my respect and admiration for you grew daily. You seemed different, a man who stood up for his people and what was right. I’m sad to say, all that is now lost and you’ve been relegated, in my mind, back to the pile of self-serving politicians which are so typical in this country.
Of course, Governor, this isn’t about you or my illusions, it’s about what is happening daily in the ever-more corrupt and undemocratic Democratic Party. This primary was an eye-opening experience for me. From the unfair treatment of MI and FL, to the disproportional delegate allocation in traditional Red states and those with high African American populations, to the flawed and undemocratic caucus system, to the superdelegates who were paid-off to thumb their noses at the will of their constituents, to the downright scandalous actions of the Rules and Bylaws Committee, one can only surmise that the deck was always stacked in Senator Obama’s favor.
But even that wasn’t enough. No, I watched party leaders turn their heads and remain silent as a chorus of race-baiting, sexism and misogyny flowed from the media and Obama operatives. I saw Senator Obama repeatedly get key endorsements on the backs of devastating losses. Many of those endorsements were from elected officials in states he had lost. I heard a constant cacophony of cries from senior leaders for Senator Clinton to get out despite the fact that she had the momentum, was winning more and polling better than Senator Obama. Please tell me, Governor, as a Democrat, what part of all this is supposed to sit well with me?
No, I take that back, Governor, don’t bother. I’ll tell you. None of it.
You see, I have a very deep suspicion that most Democratic voters aren’t as informed as I am. Most of them just dutifully go to the polls without asking questions and cast their vote for whoever is on the ballot. They won’t do the research I’ve done about Senator Obama and realize that he is too inexperienced, unqualified, unprincipled and questionable to be president. You are counting on them aren’t you, Governor? Those “loyal” Democrats who will just lap up whatever is dished out and never ask what’s in the recipe? Well, I consider myself a loyal democrat too. Not loyal to whoever rakes in the most cash or who has the most influence with the nation’s wealthy, but loyal to the principles on which this party and this country were founded. You know, those principles set forth by our founding fathers? Do you remember those?
Anyhow, as a loyal democrat, I feel it is my duty, prior to the November election, to do all I can to educate the general public about the machinations of party insiders who pre-ordained the selection of Senator Obama. I am not alone. As a member of Puma PAC, and the broader Just Say No Deal coalition, I have many allies who will work hard to let America know how corrupt the Democratic Party has become; how it is no better than the Republican Party which it has excoriated for so long.
In closing, Governor, I hope you will put your self-interest aside and represent the people of your state as you were elected to do. They voted overwhelmingly for Senator Clinton. For that reason alone, you should support any effort to have their preferences respected by fighting for Senator Clinton to be placed in nomination at the convention. It’s the right and decent thing to do. Maybe if those of us who cherish country and democratic principles over party begin to see signs of fair-play, justice and equal treatment from our leaders, coupled with some much-needed apologies, this fractured party can begin the healing process. If not, we are all on a certain path to a devastating loss in November.

The DNC has proposed model rules for delegate selection, which they distributed to the state parties. Adoption of these model rules is not mandatory but, state parties are required to submit delegate selection plans for approval by the DNC. Not surprisingly, every state I have looked at so far has merely adopted the national’s proposed model rules. It is in these rules we find the provision that delegates should (not must) try to follow their candidates, at least on the first vote. (Reference in previous post.)
However, some state laws require pledged delegates to follow their candidates, at least on the first vote (and in some cases, through the second vote). (We’re checking now to see whether this requirement for delegates to follow their candidates is sometimes couched in language that includes the word “binding.”)
In other words, in states whose laws require pledged delegates to follow their candidates at the convention, state parties who ‘encourage’ pledged delegates to desert their candidates can be said to coercing these delegates to break those state laws. See past posts for what to do in those situations.
In cases without these laws, there is other recourse to stop state parties from harassing HRC pledged delegates to support BO, before convention. See past posts for this information, too.
I have already posted information for a few states. If you cannot find the appropriate information for your state, post your questions here and I will try to answer them when I return.

Little Rock police are on the scene of a shooting on West Capitol Street at the state Democratic party headquarters. The Arkansas Democratic Party says the chairman, Bill Gwatney, is hospitalized after incident. At least three shots were fired after a man walked into the building during the noon hour.
The 1300 block West Capitol was shut down after the shooting, just blocks from the state capitol in downtown Little Rock.
Witnesses said one person was apparently seriously wounded and taken from the scene by ambulance.
Officers said they were pursuing a white man in his 40′s that fled the scene in a blue Dogge pickup truck. Little Rock police say officers are pursuing a suspect into Saline County off I-530, south of Little Rock.

Violence, weapons, intimidation is never a solutions and it kills the spirit and destroys lives. Hillary Clinton is a former First Lady and a current United States Senator. You report the threat against her by contacting the Secret Service.
Also, personal threats, although useful for blogging, should also be reported to authorities. When you do not report these incidents, you are guilty of enabling the miscreants who express them. Taking matters into ones own hands is not only dangerous, but it is ineffective.

As long as the protest is peaceful, it is doubtful the Denver police would do anything. They do have to be prepared.
Some people get arrested because they are disrespectful to the police. The police can “inconvenience” you by taking you downtown, but probably not charge you with anything.
Be peaceful. Respect the police. Be aware of your surroundings. Don’t engage Obama supporters (try to resist calling them stupid, even though they are). A few people could end up in jail for a night but they can’t arrest everybody.

What makes you think that Hillary has given up or given in? She is one of the smartest people on this planet, and I guarantee she knows *exactly* what she is doing, every step of the way.
Our job now is to back her to the hilt and not second-guess her strategy. There are forces at work here that are beyond our knowledge, politically and otherwise.
We have no reason to be disappointed in Hillary. Without her tenacity, PUMA would not exist. She created us by her example of ferocity and valiance. We just have to be patient and to trust that she will not do something that goes against her own best interests, and therefore against ours. She cannot telegraph every move in advance. Like an expert general, she will not let the enemy know which way her fighting forces are going or from where they are coming.
Hillary has to know that we have her back. And we have to watch and wait. She doesn’t have to “take it to Denver” — that’s OUR job as PUMAs.
As Murphy has said:

The forms are usually available in the hospital and usually your obstetrician signs them also and then they are mailed to the correct department.
I truly believe if he was not born in Hawaii, then his mother probably went to Kenya for the summer with Obama Sr. and he was born there.

Because of some info on vaccines, they are having a hard time finding that he was born in Kenya. But a pregnant woman would not have had been required to get the vaccines (I guess for the kid) so she could have left Kenya, pregnant. Theory is easiest place to get to was Canada and apparently she was trying to get him a citizenship in a British or French colony.
So far, no hospital in Hawaii shows his birth during, before or after the alleged birthdate of *61. Asource of Ed Hale’s, in Hawaii, said all public records/ books for 1961 have been removed and no one at those offices know where they are. An invesitgation into his citizenship has been requested.

If she had intentions of going to Denver, she would have had to make her wishes known then and not endorse Obama. When she endorsed him, most, if not all of her backers also endorsed him. When you called the various senate and representative’s offices, they would tell you Obama is the nominee and Hillary endorsed him. We keep talking about 18m who voted for her but a lot of those have moved on. She may not have the pledged delegates that she started out with. Aren’t we now trying to collect 300 to sign on? Don’t know if someone answered your question or not yet… but if you look at the email address list very carefully, you will see some addresses have a period after them instead of a comma, and some will have a space between the end of an email address and the comma. Just look over the list of addresses very closely and correct to make sure that each address is separated by a comma and then a space before next address begins (in that order). After you make corrections — the email should go through just fine.
I always make this visual check with all the emails… since I’ve run into this problem before.

I’m reading the book, “Obama Nation” and it addresses a bit about his birth. The author quotes a lot from Obama’s own book, “Dreams…” According to the book Obama Sr. was still married to his wife in Kenya when he married Junior’s mother. Apparently, Obama’s book notes that it is quite a mess trying to straighten everything out. Supposedly there are divorce papers for Junior’s mother and Obama Sr. even though they weren’t legally married since Senior already had a wife. The “Obama Nation” is quite an enlightening book.

I haven’t had time to post since last Friday. I’ve been trying to catch up on my reading. First of all, I want to pass along my sympathies to the family and friends of Wizard. Even though I never had contact with him, I am so grateful for all of the work that he did for us. What the hell is going on here? I don’t understand why our superdelegates are being threatened inregards to the vote that they have their own freewill to give. I have not ever seen anything like this. This is only pissing me off that much more to firght against *61 and the DNC. Oh excuse me, I meant the ONC. Apparently, the vocie of the people was thrown under the bus along with Hillary. I really wish that I could come to Denver, but money is low and I have sick pets to tend to.
I went to my local Sams Club this morning and I got to read a little bit of the book “Obama Nation”. Quite interesting! I plan to purchase after payday. It will really help to inform the people that have no clue of what *61 really is.
Also, just a thought about putting up the flyers. I live right off of Interstate 64. I was out recently and had to get off of the Interstate at a rest stop close to home. I noticed that flyers could be placed on the telephones and would be quite visible to people traveling. During the time that I was there, I counted seven different state plates. Do you all think that it would be a good idea to post the flyers at the rest stops on the Interstate??

I will admit at first I just thought the pro Hillary people were really grasping at straws on the BC issue. In fact this issue almost had me leaving any of these sites such as Noquarter, Clintons for McCain and etc.
When I saw the BC I immediately went to mine and realized how very different it was. Also I talked to a couple of friends of mine and we realized how weird the BC was. It wasnt just the lack of information on it, it was the way some of the information was posted.
The one part that had me confused the most was African for race. Prior to about the 70s or maybe later African Americans’ race was catergorized as Negro on official documents.
People have been asking about this for months. Yet Obama has not brought a crediable BC forward to stop the questions. However McCain’s BC was brought forward and shown to all who had questions.

OK – here’s what I heard about “tapes” on Hannity’s radio show. There are tapes taken of BO when legislatures were being presented in the house and how he voted, etc. They will be compared to tapes of his campaign where he says he advocates the opposite. They will be presented either right before the convention or something to that affect. I “thought” Hannity said next week.
Could these be different tapes? XO voted to de-legalize the use marijuana (does that sound right?)….stuff like that. They are tapes at the actual presentations in the House. Hopefully I got this info kinda close. If it’s wrong, I apologize – I was trying to drive and listen at the same time.

But unfortunately, that is where your point of view is weak because he did not ‘win’ because he had more supporters (yes, he has many supporters) but because the democratic rules and bylaws committer after relentless pressure on HRC to drop out, realized that the had to give the impression that he had enough elected delegates to win (when neither he nor Clinton had enough. So they went into a closed door meeting and took 4 delegates that Clinton won and gave them to BO, then took all the uncommitted delegates voted in Mich and gave those to him, when Uncommitted delegates go to the convention UNCOMMITTED. Then they claimed that the superdelegates endorsing BO made him the winner, when in actuality superdelegate endorsement mean nothing until the convention when they vote.

677-I think if you look around the internet you will find lots of facts to back up our views about Obama. To list them woud take quite a bit of time. Just look at Obama’s many references to his youth in his book and how the timelines dont add up. Even in many of his recent speeches that refer back to his childhood and family have time line and historical problems. Once or twice would not be a problem but it has occured quite frequetly.
These misspeaks are not just about his personal self either. Lately I have been trying to figure out where Obama stands on a large majority of the election issues. What he claimed during the primary is no where close to what he now claims on elecion issues now.
Change is good if it is good for the country and most honest politicians will admit they have changed and why. But with Obama we are supposed to believe that he supported prior views that are on video and were on his website.

We need to have the backs of the state delegates so they can back HRC. These are ordinary people, like us. Many of them probably are here for the first time, and have been blindsided by all of this. All I want to do is empower them to stay the course. Otherwise, they will be replaced (in states where this is possible).
Unless we protect our delegates, both pledged and unpledged, that is, super, they cannot protect HRC. And if the national party wasn’t afraid she could still be the nominee, they wouldn’t be advising the state parties – I am certain this is coming from the top – to reign in HRC’s pledged delegates in their states.
The information I am providing for you is actually a step-by-step self-help manual. These are incidents of first impression. That is, nothing like this has ever happened before. So, I figured out a way to address the issue.
First, check to see whether you live in a state where state laws require pledged delegates to follow their candidates, at least through the first round of voting at the convention. (So far, we know that both GA and OR law require this.)
Then, call your state delegates pledged to HRC. These are ordinary people, just like us. Some of them are first-time office holders. They probably feel as blindsided as we do. After all, they are party members, too. The woman in CO hired a lawyer; but no one should have to hire a lawyer to protect herself from attacks by her own party.
Explain you are concerned as a Democrat, as a puma (generic), or as a citizen of the U.S.A. about what is happening to the Democratic party. If they have been pressured, take notes. Tell them you’ll get back to them. Then, come back here, and I will guide you where to go next.
(Please, keep your eyes on the prize.We don’t need a savior. Somebody mentioned Gloria Allred or Alan Dershowitz. These headline grabbers would do more to attract attention to themselves then they could ever provide help to us. Anyway, they cannot do anything for us that we cannot do for ourselves.)

Intimidation, threats, lies, retribution? Sounds like Chicago politics writ large. If you think talk of intimidating delegates is a fairy tale, or an exaggeration, think again.
Please see items # 1 and 2 below for two of the most egregious. The first might be dismissed as over-reaching by a petty party official: “Dear Ms. Millstone: A complaint has been filed with the Colorado Democratic Party, by a fellow Democratic National Convention delegate, regarding your position as a Delegate to the National Convention in light of the disparaging public remarks you have made and continue to make regarding our Party’s presumptive nominee for President, Sen. Obama. Therefore, you are hereby directed to come in to the Party Headquarters and explain your comments and why you should remain a national delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in light of these comments. I can be reached at 303-623-4762. Your immediate attention to this urgent matter is requested.”
The second is overt and outrageous by a public official who has real power over most of his state’s delegates.
In light of the all the outrages, and the need to elect a Democrat to the White House, I encourage every person and every group to be doing whatever is possible to get Hillary nominated as the sole focus in the coming 14 days. In addition to doing the EW, here are some grassroots actions which can be done in the weeks before the convention:
Please target and support the decision and opinion makers:
a. Organize small groups to go visit every HRC delegate in your area to be sure they understand that they are expected to go to the convention representing the candidate for whom they stood, and that they are signing the historic nominating petition. Please remind them that they go to the convention to represent votes of millions of HRC supporters, not to coronate an underqualified teleprompter-orator who has been dismissive of Senator Clinton and her supporters.
b. Organize small groups to visit every SD to make the case for HRC as the electable Democrat as their only responsibility and for which we will hold them accountable. They should also be signing the historic nominating petition. They need to know that it is important to you that they hold firm and exert leadership.
c. Organize small groups to go visit the editors of local newspapers to explain what an open convention means and why HRC is the electable Democrat.
d. Organize small groups to go visit local TV and radio stations to explain what an open convention means and why HRC is the electable Democrat. You can offer me and others to do radio interviews.

There’s something you are not understanding about Canadian birth certificates, and I’ve said this before but was told by people here that I was wrong.
1. I’m Canadian, I know what our birth certificates look like and how to get one.
2. Some provinces have different rules regarding birth certificates. Newfoundland and Quebec being the two with different rules. In both these provinces a baptismal certificate counts as equivalent to a birth certificate
3. Birth certificates can be generated at any time. You are all thinking of the birth certificate given to his family at the time of his birth. I needed my birth certificate a few years ago, went to the Dept of Vital Statistics, paid the fee, the woman printed me a new birth certificate, stamped the seal and off I went. Yes, I said printed on a laser printer.
4. If Bo was born in Canada most likely it was in British Columbia as there was an influx of immigrants into that province in the early 60′s due to an increase in employment and industrialization, and shipping routes for passenger boats. I’d even guess Vancouver due to better hospitals there at the time.
5. If he was born in Canada it could be easily searched in any city library that contains periodicals on births and deaths. Or any law library.
Hopes this helps you understand the Canadian birth certificate.

I went to the UPS store and printed up 30 flyers of DancingWithPumas masterpiece on the ONC, and the FDR flyer by The Denver Group on Dean & Pelosi allowing FDR in Nomination~
I handed them out in my bright red PUMA POWER shirt in front of Shop-Rite food store here~ I had some interesting chats~ most positive and a few very ignorant!! One guy, that i saw looking at me staring me down, as I watched behind my sunglasses, looked at me and spit on the ground towards me as he stared me down~ I gave him a smerky smile back~ he then continued to say that #61 will rule this country and puma’s cant do a f#@*ing thing about it! I just ignored him and keep handing out flyers to those leaving that wanted them~
I gave out all 60 in pair~ I hope to do more later in the week!

In talking about the cages I was remembering a friend I worked with in LA during the heavy duty gay demostrations. He was never actually involved in the demonstartions, for he was the contact man on the outside.
For all the groups going to Denver you might just think about sitting someone to be the contact person. The contract person would always be on the outside so they could get help for anyone that might need some type of help.
