I saw this on another website and think it would be an excellent read for Superdelegates. If any of you have email addresses or fax nos. for Supers, please send this along. I would post it as a BLOG on this site, but I can't figure out how to do it. :/

What The Media & Obama Campaign Will Never Understand About Clinton Supporters:

Let me start by stating that I am an Independent who believes, like the great leaders of the past, that our nation’s first and foremost priority is to protect our sovereignty, practice sound fiscal and economic policy built upon competition, and then address shifting social & cultural issues. My politics more closely resemble that of Teddy Roosevelt than any other President. You can imagine my surprise when I started this blog 3 months ago and found 70% of my early readership coming from Hillary Clinton supporters. I am not a Hillary supporter and if she were the nominee, I would most likely not vote for her. But, I have gained new respect for Hillary Clinton, and especially her supporters, who I have discovered over the past three months share views that are not that dissimilar than mine. Yes, we do disagree on many issues, but also agree on many of the most fundamental issues that should be most important in an election.

Over the 3 months, but especially within the past week, the media has failed to fairly portray Hillary Clinton’s supporters who have refused to fall in line behind Obama. The media, for their part, have painted these supporters as “bitter, middle-aged females” angered by Hillary not winning the nomination. The Obama campaign, his surrogates, supporters and media have this fantastic notion that by Hillary pledging her support to Obama that this group will unite and fall in line. Additionally, they have created a perception that the views of this group are reflected by Obama and their lack of support has little to do with politics and everything to do with spite.

In reality, what Clinton’s former supporters are fighting for is a return to the pre-1968 Democratic Party. The party that produced Presidential candidates that placed the interests of their country above their own pursuit of power. Presidents like FDR, Truman and Kennedy who addressed social issues, but understood that those were not the first priority of government.

It is true, that Clinton supporters want Hillary Clinton to win the nomination, but more importantly is that in the past few months their fight has shifted from one of electing Clinton, to a platform for reforming the Democratic Party. This election has been a wake up call for Clinton supporters, who have experienced first hand the grossly biased reporting by much of the media. While they and their candidate were subjected to numerous misogynistic attacks, the media turned a blind eye. When they raised objections as to Obama’s injection of race into the ‘race’, they were themselves accused of being racists. Only recently has the Obama campaign’s tactics had light shed on them.

More importantly however is that Clinton supporters realized that their party leadership that has consistently accused Republican of suppressing the vote, turned out to have manipulated their primary system so as to disenfranchise voters in nearly every state of the union. The have awoken to realize, what many of us have known for years, that today’s Democratic leadership is interested in one thing and one thing only: Power!

John McCain has been openly criticized and attacked by members of his own party, conservatives and moderates alike. Rush Limbaugh, the most well-known voice of conservatism has been relentless in his criticism of McCain. Yet, you don’t see McCain supporters turning against staunch conservatives and you don’t see a blatant effort to silence dissent within the Republican Party. On the other hand, millions of moderate Democrats who support Hillary Clinton have not experienced this level of welcome dissension and respect. The leadership of their own party helped by zealot Obama supporters have done everything in their power to silence any voice of dissension. Many Democrats overlooked this lack of respect for dissension when it happened to Joe Liebermann, but now notice when it has happened to them.

Clinton’s supporters are a far cry from the “bitter, middle aged female” picture that the media has painted. I can tell everyone first hand, that these Men and Women are among the most respectful and articulate individuals you could hope to have a conversation with. I have followed their posts since the beginning of the summer at many Puma Sites, and although they know I am not a Clinton supporter they have welcomed my comments and been respectful towards others. Their comments are typically well thought out and seldom do you see hateful or spiteful words or attacks come from their postings. Likewise, I wish I could say the same for vocal Obama supporters whose verbal attacks against this community have ranged from name calling to death threats. Supporters with the highest level of intelligence as to leave hundreds of comments on my blog amounting to: “Mcsame, Mshame… Mcdonald’s, McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut”. Ok… I threw those last three in myself (a song my daughter sang when she was three, and ironically about the same intelligence).

The media and more importantly the DNC and Obama campaign have failed and apparently will never understand that for most Hillary Supporters whom have not fallen in line, the issue is now beyond the nomination of Clinton; it is now an issue of Party Reform. Clinton supporters now realize what so few others know, that political parties are dangerous. By design, their purpose is to increase party power, not further the power of the people. Our founding fathers understood this and in a time of true statesmen, warned us of the dangers of this Party Power.

The Democratic Party, led by individuals like Obama, Dean, Pelosi and Reid have been forced to show their true colors. In every action they take, they demonstrate that they are intent only upon increasing their own power. I applaud Clinton Supporters who have not fallen in line, I applaud them not because we agree on every issue, but because we agree upon the foundation of ‘equal representation’ and unique ‘Americanism’ upon which this country was founded. I am not a citizen of the world and I certainly will not commit myself to the unachievable goal of ’saving the world’. I am a citizen of the United States of America; I am proud of my nation and its 230 year heritage; I am respectful and appreciative for those who fight and have fought for this nation; and I will not stand-by as politicians allow shreds of our sovereignty and freedom to be peeled away.

Someone sounds like a troll but I'll answer a couple of points anyway if anyone is still here.
Any ordinary person might give up in disgust at this point, but Hillary has already BEEN co-president with Bill and they went through much more in the impeachment. They were accused of crimes, their employees and friends were threatened with jail, one of their staff committed suicide because of the way he was treated by the GOP....
After all that, she still ran for president this year. So I doubt if the current mistreatment will deter her from wanting the job.
Whether she wants to try for a narrow victory THIS year, or will target 2012, is another question. 2012 might be wiser in many ways: McCain can make a start on cleaning up after Bush; if Obama=McGovern then she may have a united party in 2012, etc.
She does seem to be emphatic about staying in the Senate, which suggests that (as she's said all along) she doesn't want VP.

Don't know if anyone saw this on the CNN blog, but this is outrageous. Regarding the threat on Obama.

Did you hear that the Head PUMA has been embezzling from PUMA donations?

I need advice from you all. I run a PUMA Group, but some of my pumas do not see a point in canvasing our area with flyer and posters. No Name has his obots going out this weekend door to door. My area has 36 (places) neighborhoods the OBOTS are going too. I have tried to express how important action is. Talking and blogging are good but it will not keep No Name out of White House!

Dances W/Puma - Pls email me your flyer.
fred08puma@gmail
I would like to take a look and see if Murphy wants to have a bunch made up.
I know it is really useful to just put a bunch in my tote bag everywhere I go and post them where I want to or leave them at any place that someone will see.

Definately can make half sizes... but I think the biz card version is too small to catch attention.
