Some changes are not for the better. The Democratic National Committee should maintain all of its important offices in Washington D.C., the people’s city. The DNC should count every Democratic vote, every single time without exception. The DNC should NEVER allow racist, sexist, or any other kind of hateful, ad hominem attacks to affect the outcome of a national primary contest. It is as simple as that.

Polls from yesterday show that Obama has the magical power to turn even the bluest of the blue states red. My dear old Massachusetts, the last refuge of losers (Dukakis, Kerry, McGovern) isn’t even safe for him anymore. It was on June 5th that I published the post “Landslide 50-State Loss.” Looks like we might be right, after all. On November 5, when Obama is slinking back to Chicago with his tail between his legs and a mandate to for once in his life actually EARN some of the accomplishments he pretends to have already achieved, will we be so petty as to say “We told you so!”?
You bet your ass we will.

Re-post from downstairs:
I just phoned with Dean’s office to ask if Hillary’s name will be placed in nomination. The guy said, “If she wants it to be, and even if she doesn’t, her delegates can put her name in. There will be no changes to how we run the convention.”
Is this the same or different from what you all were told yesterday?
Shocking that i’m first!
I have noticed that the msm is picking and choosing what poll numbers they think matter now that BO isn’t up in all of them
Has anyone noticed that msm stopped referencing the poll numbers? (rhetorical question)
http://rasmussenreports.com/
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows the race for the White House is tied once again– Barack Obama and John McCain each attract 44% of the vote. However, when “leaners” are included, it’s McCain 47% and Obama 46%.
SunnyPA
On Hannity’s radio show last night he was talking polls with two democrat guests…the guests called the polls in which mccain leads to be crap and not to be trusted.

It is different, their answer went from No, to she will be on the ticket but Bo has won, to Bo has won so why bother, to the answer you have. There were other answers as well but those are the one’s I remember of the top of my my head.
Oh right one other answer “STOP THE HATE” lol
woohooooo we’re going to the floor, Hillary we got your back!
I’m starting to beleive if you say it often enough with will come true.
So my mantra from now til then is “Hillary for Pres in 2008!, Yes, She Can!”
Murphy . . Thank you to Garry Mauro . . Repost, or as part of a prowl today? Many probably didn’t see FOX this morning. It might get the ball rolling for others to follow suit.
I’m sending my postcard this morning.
Top 10 am I?
problems posting again
YES!
Hillary Clinton will be personally handed the results of the IOwnMyVote platform survey, along with a complete list of all of us who have completed the survey. This platform effort is deeply important to Hillary. Hillary is not the only key person who will personally receive a copy. Charlie Rangel and Sheila Jackson Lee will also receive copies, delivered directly into their hands. They will all lobby the Platform Committee on our behalf.
It is also vital that all of you who can get to Pittsburgh this weekend (August 9-10, 2008), do so. The Platform Committee will be meeting at Pittsburgh’s convention center.

Organizers are working on housing – some of the housers during the primary offered again and one of the downtown hotels will give HRC supporters the same discounted rate they extended during the primary too.
*******
We don’t want to disrupt the meeting, only show support for Hillary’s platform items.
There are several PUMAs who will be inside the meeting (open to the public), I will stay outside with signs and flyers.
interesting from David Brooks in the NYT this morning. He’s asking “Where’s the Landslide?”
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/05/opinion/05brooks.html?ex=1218600000&en=a53eb3b65d4b8b81&ei=5070&emc=eta1
Thank you, Zee. It shows alot of character to have the courage to stand openly for your convictions. Sometimes the results aren’t pleasant. Sometimes…….
Anyway, thank you for stepping away from your computer and taking it to the street.
Aloha suggested Obama’s ‘thugs’ may have been trained. In a way, they probably are.
For one thing, look at where Obama claims to be from—the Southside of chicago. Now if you’ve been to Chicago you know that place is not high on a tourist’s list of sites to visit. It’s a mean place, high in poverty. Driving by Cabrini Green gves you an idea.
Obama seems to attract either the yuppie types, or the ghetto folks. The yuppies are the ones who attack us and support Precious on MSM and the ghetto people will attack any way and place they think they can get away with it.
But, like I am fond of saying, Truth and Love are the only two things in life that never need defending. And in the end will conquer all.
Could you repost his contact information up here please(gary’s) for people just getting on who may want to join in , in what we are doing
I just got an email today from a superdelegate who is working behind the scenes, she has asked me to have everyone send at least one more mass email to the superdelegates AS THIS HAS BEEN WORKING and there have been meetings discussing the subject amongst themselves – even some of HIS are beginning to cave because there is so much attention going on – anyone that can – please send emails to all the superdelegates – his included.
margeneau asked an interesting question in the previous thread. I’m reposting it because I think it’s important.
Margenau: ”
I just phoned with Dean’s office to ask if Hillary’s name will be placed in nomination. The guy said, “If she wants it to be, and even if she doesn’t, her delegates can put her name in. There will be no changes to how we run the convention.”
Is this the same or different from what you all were told yesterday?
(I guess relocating to a football stadium doesn’t count as a “change.”)”
Me: “yes — that is a slightly different response. Yesterday the only thing the DNC would say is that there would be a roll call. A roll call vote without a formal nomination of Senator Clinton is merely symbolism. Without nomination, Clinton’s delegates’ votes for her in the roll call are recorded merely as “present”
THE MAGIC WORD IS NOMINATION.”
goalucard — gotcha — working on it now!
thank you!

Wow!!!
Rasmussen Reports is the most trusted and most accurate of the polls. I like the criteria used to do the polling and it’s based on a four day rolling scale. Rasmussen doesn’t feel voters change their minds as dramatic as other polls suggest.
Even during the primaries with Hillary they were fair in the numbers…just not how they reported or described the numbers (always a negative spin to Hillary’s numbers).
Oh well, that’s just my opinion. And on that note, I’ve got to get back to my job….the one that provides me with income.
#17 Murphy – ME TOO – I know for a fact that this superdelegate has gotten three people that were going to vote for Gollum to change their minds and go for Hillary at the convention – two of those had originally been for Hillary – but this superdelegate has a lot of pull and is pulling it together – and crossed over two States as well to do so – this person really does believe that she can be the nominee – and by the way – reads the posts here every day and is a complete backer of what Puma does – Yeah
Also in passing – got an email from lobbydelegates as well – they will keep up their site as long as we still use it – of course after three weeks it will mean nothing anyway as the superdelegates will have no importance to the General Election.
Where can I get the list to email the superdelegates?
I am just trying to get this straight.
Is Mauro saying that she will be on the roll call and everyone can vote for her, or will her name be in nomination?
Secondly, looks like he alluded to voting for her on first ballot, then for Obama because he is the “nominee”.
So is this just lip service and orchestrated to appease Hillary supporters? Does it mean anything?
Gotta go out, but could someone send me the email addies of the superdelegates to
PUMABMW60 at gmail dot com… Thanks alot… will be back and send those emails or letters… tThanks again!!
ZEE – YOU ROCK! I AM SO PROUD TO HAVE YOU AS A FELLOW PUMA.
YOU MADE US ALL VERY PROUD – I EVEN TEARED A BIT!
SHHHH – DON’T TELL ANYONE
HRC 2008!
bmw60 — until the PROWL arrives, use the lobbydelegates link on our ACTION CENTER
under Contacting Superdelegates
http://www.pumapac.org/action_center.html
BMW60 – I always use http://www.lobbydelegates.com – its easy – all you do is go by State and you can insert your letter and hit enter once and all those that are listed either under Hillary or BO or Uncommitted – I have it down to about an hour and a half and all the states are done – many of them will bounce back because of addys that have changed – but I would say out of almost 900 – 650 still get to the people you want – I have perfected it because I know the ones that have been changed
The last DNC meeting I attended, I was asked to leave (go to 3:58 – that’s me in the white jacket yelling “Denver”). Though, I’m not as courageous as Zee.

If writing superdelegates is working, then let’s do it from now until the convention. Just let us know Murphy.

Most of the poll takers seem to only ask if someone is supporting the Jester or McCain. Once in a while they throw in Nader as a third candidate. I wonder, if they were to ask how many would support Hillary if she got the nomination, what the numbers would look like? Someone ought to do that kind of poll. I think the numbers would be an eye opener.
Heneri
#22 mlhath– good questions— I think for any delegate to go on fox news and ask for roll call and not to change the process is an act of support. If it is only lip service , we can make it into a shout heard around the USA>
I have to leave shortly to actually earn a living. (I am a real estate appraiser). I have an appraisal to do at 2:30, I have to leave by 1:30 in order to get there on time, so I may miss the prowl. I will complete it as soon as it is possible in the event that I am late getting back.
All I got yesterday was voice mail, and I called at 3:45. I think they decided that we were all going to call so they put the machine on to screen calls. I may try to call them again before I leave.
Heneri
This is off topic but I wanted to share the e-mail response I got from Tom DeFrank, one of the reporters that ran the NY Daily News article about HRC not wanting her name in nomination:
Your last message shows that you’re not interested in dialogue, just insults. It also shows that you know nothing about how journalism works. I had to laugh out loud when you suggested an ulterior motive of damaging Hillary. Clearly you don’t read our paper and never have; if you did, you’d know that the owner is a friend of both Clintons and that the paper has endorsed her in every race she’s ever run, including the most recent primary campaign.
I wouldn’t hold your breath about a retraction since there’s no need for one.
Again, zealots like you have a certain point of view. Whenever you read or hear something you don’t like you leap into full frenzy, screaming bias as the only possible excuse. It’s tiresome and intellectually dishonest.
I must say, I am frankly shocked by this type of response, so hostile. I have seen other people’s responses that are of a similar tone and I guess I am just amazed at the state of American intercourse these days.
I understand banter and even out and out mud slinging on the blogs.
But when super delegates and reporters respond as such to voters and consumers, I have to ask, where has our commitment to public service and customer service gone? I am flummoxed.
MlHath,
Again thank you so very much, it means so much to me, you have no idea how much, thank you

First they called us racists. Then they called us idiots. Then they stole our candidate’s ideas. Then they stole the election. Then they told us we were just tasting sour grapes, to get over it, and to move on. Then they wanted our money. Then they wanted our support. Then they wanted us to campaign for them.
Now that we won’t campaign for them and send them money, they are back to calling us racists again………..
What’s wrong with these people????????????

#27 SunnyPA
Where was the meeting? Lots of anti BO people there.
Several people have commented that Obama ‘gave back’ the full vote to Florida and Michigan. Uh, excuse me? Didn’t we already have that right?
OBAMA does not have the RIGHT to give the voter the right to vote! He does not own our votes. Why then is he allowed to claim that he has given the voter this generous gift?
OHHHHHHHH that makes me sooooooo mad.

#37 Henrietta,
Oh they have only begun. Keep in mind that those accusation were thrown when it looked like PUMA was just a fringe group and could accomplish nothing.
Now that we have made gains , they will empty both barrels at PUMA.
I’ve been through this before on a another issue years ago. Media bias, outright lies, twisting your position into obscene realms of fantasy.
Wait till the entertainment media gets on board when the new t.v. series come out. You will see many many instances of insults and degradations leveled at PUMA on network shows. Not to mention pro Carpathia story lines.
I guarantee it.
Ya aint seen nothing yet.

I think we need to prepare for the networks game playing now. Maybe get a list of Carpathias supporters who are actors and more importantly producers. Find the shows they manage and who their major sponsors are.
Get ready for prowls.
I will start this week on a list.

Great to see you!
#35 gosuef- I just wanted to clarify in my above post, I did tell Tom DeFrank I thought there was an ulterior motive to his story but I did not say it was to damage HRC.. I did mention that I thought his paper was more about the bottom line than the truth.
Needless to say, I am not going to continue to engage him at that level. I offer no response to his insults.

Do you have an email address for Mr. DeFrank?

It’s called free publicity.
I really wonder if Obama really is getting all money he thinks he needs. Ben Smith Blog reports -McCain — seeking to keep his new buzz parity with Obama and using his successful fundraising — has placed an even bigger buy than Obama for Olympic television ads, Ad Age reports.
McCain will spend $6 million to Obama’s $5 million advertising during the Games.

My friend just called a few minutes ago, this is a bit sad. Her son lost his car today, pulled out from their driveway by repo man. Her boy is 20 years old; she found out this morning her son has not been paying his car payment for 4 months. The boy explained to his Mom, he made donations NONAME/NOBAMA campaign, money he can’t afford to spare due to peer pressure. My friend is not bailing out her son.
I wonder how many young people are in the same predicament as the son of my friend, due to peer pressure donated money to NOBAMA, money they can’t afford to spare , putting theirselves in debt?

Me too and I love it!! I think it is the beginning of a long road to nowhere. We can and will rejoice with Hillary in that football stadium
oh Asian that is so sad but I think not a one time story. Maybe this is what they need to see th ereal light???
my email response from Evan Bayh- It has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EMAIL I SENT REQUESTING HE NOT SUPPORT OR ACCEPT THE VP POSITION WITH OBLAHMA:
Dear XXXXXX:
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the 2008 election. Regardless of which candidate you support, it can only be good for our country that so many are engaged in this national discussion about our country’s future. We certainly can all agree that our next president will face many difficult challenges.
Our country now faces a slowing economy. High energy costs, the mortgage crisis, soaring health care bills and unfair trade practices continue to hurt Hoosier families every day. Among other measures, I will strongly recommend that the next president endorse my legislation to get tough on trade by ending illegal subsidies, foreign currency manipulation, and even the absolute theft of American ideas. It’s well past time that we stopped these illegal practices by countries like China to protect Hoosier jobs and ensure a level playing field in the global marketplace.
We must also return to the days of fiscal discipline in Washington , DC . For too long, the government has spent like there is no tomorrow, continually borrowing money from China , Japan and even Mexico to fund budgets beyond our means. In tough economic times, families must tighten their belts, Washington should too. Firm presidential leadership is essential in order to balance the budget and prudently prepare for the unavoidable retirement of the Baby Boom generation.
However, fiscal responsibility must not be achieved on the backs of an already burdened middle class. I have fought hard to keep middle class taxes low by championing legislation to make permanent tax cuts for families, including marriage penalty relief and tax credits for children, college tuition, adoption, and child care. Our new president must never forget that middle class families are the bedrock of our country.
The next president must also find a way to responsibly reduce our involvement in Iraq while protecting our national security interests in the region and across the world. We face many real threats and we must remain vigilant and prepared, but in order to be safe, we must have a military that is not overstretched and exhausted. Perhaps most importantly, we must fulfill our moral commitment to provide the best care available to those who have so honorably served our country in uniform.
No matter the outcome of the election, I will earnestly and respectfully work with the new president and members of all political persuasions, just as I always have. I will be forever humbled by the honor of serving as your Senator and will do my level best to solve the challenges facing Hoosier families and all Americans.

Prpl – Huh – just a canned speech from Bayh that did not even address your question – he would be a PERFECT running mate of Gollum – neither of them address the issues at hand LOL
Hey Murphy, someone posted this comment on the Ticker CNN where they are talking about McCain’s new add:
PUMA Leader a Fraud? August 5th, 2008 12:02 pm ET
Some interesting stuff out there about Darragh Murphy, the PUMA PAC treasurer:
notfallinginline.org
How does he get posted on CNN and we can’t – I have given up trying to post anything there – always in moderation until I fall asleep – take out my false teeth and put them in a glass for the night – just kidding about the false teeth
Beca4
Is that the same notfallinginline that posts here? Why would he/she say something like that, or am I reading it wrong?
#42 Henerieta
Man!!! I missed that. So, the delegates now have full vote at the convention? What a crook. Now he and Pelosi will do everything they can to block Hillary from having her name in the nomination. I can’t stand him any more.
#81 tree he told “his side of the story” I guess on his post and it wasn’t nice at all I guess that is what they are talking about.
Not his post his site sorry.
A couple of tidbits of information I wanted to post and share. First — the Republicans are scared that Hillary might be the nominee and Obama will go down before the convention — so McCain has been warned to go easy in his ads. Read about it here:
http://www.redstate.com/diaries/dave_in_fla/2008/aug/03/mccain-could-be-in-serious-trouble/
Also — I was catching up on listening to the NoWeWont PUMA radio station last night and did you know that Obama stole his logo from the Chicago Lake Shore Public Television station? You can see what their logo looks like at this link below:

notfallinginline.org is Brian of Knoxville. Murphy is not treasurer of PUMA PAC, she’s Executive Director. My goodness! That man couldn’t even get his facts straight. Our donation to PUMA PAC is heavily regulated, Murphy cannot use it for personal use, every expenditure must have a corresponding RECEIPTS for auditing purposes. When you donate to PUMA PAC it ask you where do you want your donation to be spent.
Don’t pay attention whatever that person say, it’s not worth it. Murphy has a lot of legal responsibility being Executive Director of PUMA PAC. She has to be extra cautious and always have paperworks for expenditures being paid and incurred and explain their purpose.

#26 Goulucard4Hill – thats for the list of delegates. Made it easy for me to call. Just made three calls. There were names on that list I recognized, people I had worked with, so I called them. I was cordial, friendly, and asked them to stick with Hillary in Denver.Hoipe that approach works.
Asian4Hillary,
I thought Brian was a friend in this PAC..who is he?
Well whatever he may say, we all know that Murphy is our Angel, but I cant believe how much it hurts, especially when its about our families or our Puma families, I cant stand such ugliness

#37Henrietta and Aloha and so many others who have over time here spoken of “someone must have trained these people”…
I like so many others have discerned, experienced, and been periodically mystified by the commonality of ridicule, lies, and other methods we have witnessed in every aspect of the Obama phenomenon since Jan, 2008.
Early this morning…I haven’t slept yet…I decided to do some research on an idea that came to me…REGARDING THE COMMONALITY OF METHODS,WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON THE OBAMA LET US SAY..”HIGHER LEVEL BLOGGERS HERE AND ELSEWHERE, I.E ONE PLACE AS WELL THE JOHN MCCAIN WEBSITE.
Here is my tentative thesis on the above: Barack Obama has and is applying to every aspect of his campaign a version of The Salinsky Method of so called communtiy organizing. In an interview last year, Obama stated he had learned more from his 4 years of working with that model than in all his years of undergraduate and graduate education .
I urge each of you when you can to pursue some research on this amoral, Machiavellian, boundryless, self-interest centered model for control of groups.
I assure you you will immediately see some very familar actions, one of which is the concept of Ridicule.
It is a stunning matter. The Internet has enough summary material to get you started and provide a template for your own insights garnered during our battles. Rules for Radicals, a book by Salinsky, published in 1971 o2 is the primary work from which the models will jump out at you immediate.
Obama’s campaign template is The Salinsky Method.
It is chilling, numbing, and needs to be revealed every where. I plan to continue to pusue this.
MURPHY; THIS MODEL TEMPLATES ALL OF WHAT WE HAVE SEEN,.

And for those that didn’t see this link that I posted yesterday… I feel it’s a must read. Wish all the young Obamabots would read it too.

When he was posting here a few days ago, he had a disagreement with another PUMA member in this blog which I find quite troubling. Our purpose here is not to debate each other but to focus our thoughts and actions to achieve our objective. I don’t know what’s got into him, but I did not read the exchange thoroughly, I simply ignore it, it was totally senseless and out of line to begin with.
(reposted from yesterday)
PROWL – NASTY, NASTY, NASTY
Just completed today’s prowl. The woman answered the phone professionally enough – “Chairman Dean’s Office – but discovering the purpose of my call, interrupted. ‘Her name will be on the roll call, just like other conventions!’ I corrected her. ‘But I want her name allowed into nomination.’ She sounded nasty. ‘It’s the same thing.’ ‘No,’ I corrected her, politely. ‘I am a lawyer and I have read the DNC Call; I know that when a candidate whose name has not been accepted into nomination on the ballot, receives roll call votes, these votes are recorded as “Present.” Please tell people this.’ Then she said HRC would be on the ballot (whatever this means to her).
I have a new flip flop of the one-in 2004 he was pressed would he use the senate as a stepping stone for president. He said than he had no experience to be president . now I am the one. My question is what did he do I missed between 04 and now. I think he was right first time. I always learned stay with first pick when tested.
I found this on google- it is Alinsky, not Salinsky, his name is Saul Alinsky:
t is interesting, and EXTREMELY important to Americans, both as parents and as citizens, to clearly understand just HOW the “squeezing out” process takes place. It is a well defined, if not well perceived, process known as the “Alinsky Method” (which was derived from a procedure named as “The Delphi Technique.”) This method of manipulating people is based on the fact that people in groups tend to share a common knowledge base and display certain identifiable characteristics known as “group dynamics.”
In this process, one or more people known as “Change Agents” or “Facilitators” appear to be acting as organizers, “allowing” each person in the group to express their concerns about some program or policy under consideration. While this process is going on, people are urged to make lists or form into task forces. The Facilitator carefully notes which members of the group are leaders, which are “loud mouths” and which may be easily swayed to different viewpoints.
At a certain point, the previously friendly Change Agent begins to act as “devil’s advocate,” becoming an agitator. The process involves playing one part of the group against another, the “divide and conquer” technique. Anyone who is not clearly in accord with the Facilitator’s agenda is made to appear ridiculous, inarticulate, ignorant or dogmatic. The idea is to make these members of the group angry thus escalating tensions. The end object being to shut opposition voices out of the group.
The “targets” of such manipulation rarely, if ever, realize how they are being manipulated. If they do suspect, they generally have no idea how to defeat the process.
This method is being used at all levels of government to force meetings toward PRESET conclusions. There are three steps to defeating this process. They are simple to learn, if not always easy to put into practice since the Facilitators are well trained in agitation techniques.
The first rule is: Always be charming, pleasant and courteous. SMILE! Speak in a normal voice to avoid seeming to be belligerent or aggressive.
Rule No. 2 is to STAY FOCUSED! Write your question or statement down in advance to help you stay on track. These Change Agents are trained to twist the conversation around to make the questioner appear foolish or belligerent or aggressive. The idea being to put the questioner on the defensive. Be careful! As mentioned in Rule 1, always be charming, pleasant and courteous (if it kills you to do so!) Often an attempt will be made to change the subject, digress or distort your intent. Always bring them back to the question you asked! If they distort your question into what amounts to an accusation of them, simply state clearly and precisely: “That is NOT what I stated. What I asked was…”(here repeat your original question.) Do not be distracted or angered by their efforts to make you look bad.
Rule No. 3: BE PERSISTENT! When the Facilitator realizes that putting you on the defensive is not going to work, quite often he, or she, will go into some long drawn out discussion of some unrelated or only vaguely related subject. Such a discussion may drag on for a number of minutes. The intent being to have the crowd become bored and forget what the original question was. Let them run on, then very calmly, quietly but with determination drag them back to the subject by saying: “But you didn’t answer my question! My question was…”(again repeat your question.)
Never, NEVER allow yourself to become angry. Anger directed toward the Change Agent makes him or her the victim. Their object is to become liked by the crowd, to be seen as a friend by a majority of those present to convince that majority the ideas of the Facilitator are correct and acceptable.
With the increasing demand for education reform, increasing agitation among the public and more and more grassroots research exposing the defects in our current government indoctrination centers, also known as public schools, more and more people are being exposed to this Alinsky method of maneuvering public meetings toward preset goals. Somehow, people walk out of public meetings wondering just what happened – how were their ideas and objections so neatly derailed. This consistent pattern of manipulation of public meetings is causing concern about the corruption of the very process of government established by our Founding Fathers.
prplvette85 #76 — sure looks like you got boilerplate from Bayh. It sure would be good for all PUMAS to write him about not accepting the VP nod. MSM is giving him the best odds. I’ve completely lost respect for all of Hillary’s supporters who are rah-rah Obama. Bayh is right up there.

On Blogtalkradio the other night, I think it was Ray, the delegate said to keep writing and emailing speakers THROUGH the convention.
Keep up the great work! I think ONLY of Hillary winning in Denver and no other thoughts. Once she wins the nominee, hands down she will sail through the Presidency.
I hope she is vetting her VP choices.
And the nominee is…SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON!!!!
Clapping, confetti, cheers, YEAH
: )
Murphy – Thanks for the link to that David Brooks article. It’s fabulous. Brooks is a conservative op-ed columnist who I highly respect. Whether I agree or disagree with him – he makes his case with intelligence and thoughtfulness and he’s always a pleasure to listen to on the radio. Needless to say, with this op-ed piece, I agree with him completely and thought he provided a very interesting and fairly unique perspective.
Goalucard4hill – Thanks for your post about the sd’s. Much appreciated. I’m getting ready to send my 4th mass mailing to all of them this week and hope to cram one more in before the convention after that.
Lobbydelegates.com has been wonderful. Remember that they are a struggling non-profit (state democracy foundation) and they fax all of the letters, which is costly which is why they request a $5 donation after you try to send your first letter. If you contact them directly with any questionsn or problems they are incredbily suppportive and helpful. In my opinion (or as Mountain Song would say IMHO, which I finally figured out the other day!), they deserve a huge thank you, since they normally would have taken down the site and removed the service to contact sd’s months ago. I believe they are quite aware that at this point, it is primarily Clinton supporters who are using the service, but they are (at the very least) passionate about democracy and supporting democratic values being served.
By the way, “hi” eveyone. I feel like I slept through an entire 24 -hr cycle, seeing even a new thread squeezed in between last night’s and this morning’s. Just catching up on things…..
By the way (again), anyone heard from Gogandalf? Didn’t notice him around yesterday….
#90 Mary – Great – I have been doing the same thing with my States super delegates – I KNOW IT WORKS – once we all celebrate her nomination for the Democratic Party in three weeks.

Excellent!!! Excellent!!! I’ve had the urge to start my own blog to explore this aspect of the Obama phenomenon – that question, and his pathological narcissism. The outcomes are predictable if his campaign is viewed from this lens. Any thoughts?
Anna7000 – good job – I have never used lobbydelegates faxed letters – I being cheap that I am always use their free email service – although I did send them a check since I have been using them for months now – and will continue as long as Ken keeps the site up for us – I think a thank you to him would be appreciated as well.

I finished working on the letter!
My letter will be right below this post.
Here’s a link to your letter in the first post you wrote me (CTRL + click to open it in a new tab so you can switch back & forth between yours and mine):
http://blog.pumapac.org/2008/08/01/pink-martini-friday-night/#comment-75460
You might want to read my letter first, without reference to yours, to see how it sounds. Then compare yours to mine, paragraph by paragraph to see what changes I made.
——————–
So… just below this post is my final version of the Letter to Superdelegates… revised, edited and, well, revamped! (Some parts, especially the opening, are quite changed… not that yours was bad at all…)
It has about 50 words less than yours, Anna, and would have had even less if I would have NOT added two or three more points (& a whole paragraph).
I guess, professionally, I may have made it more concise, but I’m so passionate about this matter that I end up wanting to include as much as possible!
However, by creating shorter paragraphs, and more “white space” between them, I think it becomes more readable, friendlier and it also seems less wordy somehow.
Hi all – I don’t post a lot, but I read this blog everyday. Since I live in an Oblahma bastion, it is one of my sanity savers.
I went to Barnes and Noble this morning, and marched myself to the counter to inquire about “Obama Nation”. The salespeople were very helpful (I was a little surprised, given the other stories I’ve heard about people looking for the book) – the woman said they’ve been selling a lot of copies, but she wasn’t sure where it was located. The male salesperson told me he was back today after being out a week, and quickly looked the book up. He said, “Wow – I’ve been out a week and haven’t heard of this – it’s in bestsellers.” He walked me over to the display and told me it was “#1 in bestsellers, right out of the box.” I thanked him, but I kicked myself a bit because I had forgotten to bring any PUMA stuff to leave behind. Anyway, I considered the whole act a personal PUMA prowl, in that I made sure the book was visibly located. Just wanted to brag a little.
#99GOSUEFFORHILL: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CORRECTING THE NAME; CLEARLY THIS BRAIN WITH NO SLEEP IS NOW MORPHING FIRST AND LAST NAMES!!!
SO GLAD YOU POSTED THE CORRECTION AND SOME OF THE METHODS. NOW PERHAPS I SHOULD TRY TO GO TO SLEEP? PLEASE CONTINUE TO PURSUE AND ARTICULATE WHAT YOU FIND . ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ….

LETTER TO SUPERDELEGATES
——————
Dear (Superdelegates),
We are in quite a historic election this year!
As a Superdelegate, you will play a major role in the Democratic nomination process. I’m aware of the pressure you face from the Party as well as from supporters of both Obama and Clinton. Party leaders are currently pushing hard for the nomination of Obama. I know you want to do what is right for the Party and for our country.
But I hope that, as you read my letter, you will put aside the Party’s agenda and give some thought to what I will say.
If you are for Hillary Clinton, I plead you to courageously stick with her, and vote for her at the convention. If you are for Barack Obama, or if you are undecided, please consider the following points:
Obama’s Experience and Voting Record: Barack Obama was a US Senator only two years when he started running for president. He has very little international experience. He has not sponsored any meaningful legislation on his own nor through bipartisan efforts. He avoided controversial issues as a state senator by frequently voting “present.” He ignored the plight of impoverished families living in the rundown public housing that his friend Tony Rezko owned.
Obama’s Pattern of Disturbing Relationships, Flip-Flopping, and Deception: Barack Obama has a history of affiliations with controversial and shady characters and terrorists. His attempts to “explain away” or “dump” them cannot erase his past. Obama became a State Senator through the dirty politics of “eliminating” his opponents [and betraying Sen. Alice Palmer???].
He also frequently goes back on his word. In 2006 he stated he would not to run for President due to lack of experience, but then proceeded to run for President. Most recently, he has shifted positions on campaign finance reform, abortion, gun control, Iraq troop withdrawal, FISA and offshore drilling. He also embraced Bush’s faith based initiative! Obama’s political moves and voting record do not match his rhetoric.
Media and DNC Bias: The media has given Obama a free pass and has not vetted him enough. According to a late May poll, the public felt the media was much harder on Hillary than on Obama or McCain. The DNC “pushed” delegates to move toward Obama after the last state voted in the Primaries despite a close delegate race. This made it difficult for Hillary to continue running.
This year’s Democratic nomination should have been a no-brainer. We just don’t nominate candidates with so little experience and with the kind of history and ‘negatives’ that Barack Obama has. It will be a blunder, with grave consequences, if we nominate Obama instead of Hillary Clinton.
Senator Clinton has spent 35 years dedicating her life to public service. She has an impressive grasp of national and international policy. She has a Congressional track record of legislative achievement, and of reaching across party lines. She has a brilliant platform.
She also won the popular vote. She won the key states needed to win in the general election. She won them despite Obama outspending her many times over. And she won despite the media bias toward Obama, and the DNC not denouncing the sexism she faced.
She has been vetted and survived. We know her well. Yet we hardly know Barrack Obama…
And a lot of what we’re now learning about him is not pretty!
A recent poll showed that Hilary is still the strongest candidate against John McCain, beating him by a wider margin than Obama. At present, Obama is struggling to edge ahead of McCain. And this is supposed to be the year when many factors favor a big Democratic win!
I hope that, despite the pressure from the Party, you will do what is right and best for our country and ultimately for our Democratic Party. I urge you to vote for Hillary Clinton at the convention.
Sincerely,
********************************

I remember the term Delphi Technique from college days…hummm. Facinating!
What you are describing sounds like exactly what happen in the Texas caucus/conventions. There was a secruity tape of a community center lobby in Texas that recorded two Obama campaign workers as they entered the community center and began to incite this kind of discord. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it is textbook.
Murphy, would this be a good tip to pass on to Brad and Lori? Perhaps a couple of us can do some research for them?
Here is my response to PUMA Leader a Fraud? on the McCain’s page about new ad!!

Thanks much to dwp and mp for making it happen. Check it out here:

#114. IT’s called clinton supporters acting rudely…BUT it shows how they stood up for us and for Hillary.
There were Obambi supporters upstairs hollering also but They didn’t make them leave.
Once again with update:
1- Foe faux-puma is running around the blogosphere under various names, trying to drag people to his site and into his mix and mindset. Pfffft.
2-Truth be known, even if Murphy was spending my contributions on her mortgage, her children’s college education fund, vacations… whatever, it wouldn’t bother me in the least. What I have gained at puma pac and what we are doing as a group is priceless.
3-I’m fiercely loyal, although not blindly so, to people I perceive as altruistic, ethical, honest, responsible, and fun! Murphy meets those criteria… that’s all I have to know.
addendum: Why post his website and give him more self-serving publicity? Why even discuss him? He’s a non-entity as far as I’m concerned. He’s always tried to undermine Murphy. Obviously, he can’t use the truth against her, so he lies. I question how genuine one’s personal integrity, ethics, principles, and political positions, are thrown out the window just because they don’t care for a few people in a movement of hundreds of thousands? Then, to run around to anti-puma sites broadcasting his heavily edited, ego feeding versions of prior events… He reminds me of the candidate and campaign of he for whom we will not be voting.
Just ignore whatshisname.
WOW!!!! I thought so!!! Cool! Voluteer to research if needed.
Landipuma – I don’t know how to thank you for taking the time to help me in this way. I’ve printed out both letters and will now go and compare and make my final edit. You are truly a sweet heart to do this. I’ll get back to you after I finish looking at them both.
#104AlohaPuma: Please make sure you hav e read #99’s correction of the name of this guy…and the #99post text as well. Yes, I have some thoughts, but given the condition of no sleep- brain, and one result..the “transmogrification” of Saul Alinsky to Salinsky, this brain now is on tilt! Please also check out the Internet for research and analytical materials re Rules for Radicals, et al. I am numb brained now.

New Orleans thanks for your post a while ago when Hillary was in contest I was posting at first read (boycotting now)and 4 Obama people came on about same time talking about Clintons past pastor being jailed. Of course they were haveing a hay day with it . The pastor had been in court in town my daughter lived so I ask her about it . Clinton is th ename of a town nearby and a pastor from that town ,nothing to do with Hillary had been jailed. I brought it up on f/r and it of course got dropped.It shows though the unity they work in and from I think you nailed it.

I just posted my reply to our ex-puma. Let’s see how long CNN keeps me in moderation.
Whenever I see such attacks I shall call him on it..
Okay, low blows coming out of the democratic party emails. My response;
Dear Mike,
I have to be totally honest with you, something the democratic party has not been this election.
I will not support the “selection” of Barack Obama as the next leader of our wonderful country.
The destruction of the democratic party has been accomplished by Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi and others.
I am disgusted to be considered a democratic.
I don’t care who John McCain picks as VP. John McCain will get my vote along with millions of others in our country.
The democratic party made their bed, now let them lay in it.
Democrat going Republican in November, Independent after election.

Too many nuts around, not enough squirrels.

#122 Goalucard4Hill=, just the announcement of the moderators for the presidential debates this fall. Presidential debate moderators will be: Jim Leherer of PBS, Tom Brokaw of NBC, Gwen Ifill of PBS and Bob Scheiffer of CBS —Also I want Clinton vs McCain in the debates.
Hillary Clinton to campaign for Obama
Posted: 01:13 PM ET
From CNN Political Producer Alexander Marquardt
(CNN) – Hillary Clinton will campaign for Barack Obama on two dates in August, the Obama campaign announced Tuesday.
She will hold rallies and voter registration drives in the swing states of Nevada and Florida on August 8 and 21, respectively. Obama won’t attend Friday’s event since he is taking a planned vacation with his family — and it’s not yet clear whether he’ll be at the latter date, which falls just days before the Democratic convention in Denver.
**********************************
Latest news on Hillary, but maybe good news, those Pumas that live in Florida can get to Hillary and ask her to make sure she has her name in Nomination in the First Roll Call….
I really think that now, more than ever, during this final push to the convention, distraction is a waste of our very precious time, energy and resources. We cannot control what others do including those that would try to paint distorted pictures of what we’re about. It’s inevitable that would occur. If we all ran around trying to put out every fire that got started we’ll be run ragged in no time. We’ve got enough to focus on, big stuff, without dealing with that bs. We haven’t the time and why bother dignifying such things with responses. I say, forget it and let’s stay singularly focused.
I have not had time to read posts for a few days due to family concerns. Thank you Murphy for your email Update. It read like a Newsletter and made me feel connected.
That Dances does incredible work. Actually, Brilliant came to mind when I read today’s Poster. It is not the DNC but the ONC. I laughed because ONC sounds like a noise a swine would make. Point made on multiple levels. Congrats Dances!
There is a reason he is going to Hawaii. Why would any candidate doing as poorly as he is go on a vacation?
LANDIPUMA – The changes you made are really really really good!!!! I’m going to integrate them into my letter now and forward it to Ken over at Lobby Delegates. I wish I could see you, meet you and give you a little gift for the time you spent. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I love to write and believe in the power of the written word, so when someone steps in and can help me advance that goal with insightful suggestions, I am ever grateful.
THANK YOU!
How about this murphy OUTREACH / Deliver ….
MoveOn is giving away a million obama bumper stickers this week. We should order as many as possible and put a PUMA on them. They have an ad at TheObamaFile.com. Guess no one has been ordering them so they have to give them away.

Way to go. Every bit helps.
BO is going to Hawaii ?
Hi Anna7000,
OK!
You know on the note in my post above the letter I said it was “the final version,” but actually, as will probably be obvious in the letter, I had a question about the Alice Palmer thing (which I put in brackets in the letter). I know she was one of the ones that he booted out (by challenging the petition signatures) so he could be the only one running for the state Senate, but I wasn’t sure in what way he “betrayed” her (heard something about that)… and didn’t have time to research it.
#138 or throw them in the trash.

Hi Go!
Good afternoon Pumas, don’t know whether I’m going to be able to post today. It was horrible yesterday and I believe it had something to do with the website as I blogged on other websites.
I’m shocked about Brian of Knoxville, I actually had gone to his website a couple of times but will never go there again. The nerve of him belittling our Murphy.
#110 LandiPuma & #135 Anna7000 Since I haven’t kept up with the posts, does this mean you will send your letter to lobbydelegates.com and we will be able to use that letter? Truthfully, I have been using the letter over at the no-name website we are ignoring.

I wrote my friend (Andrew Smith) who is a writer for The View. I know you get a ton of mail to sift through but I had Blind copied (to you and Will Bower) the email sent to Andrew. I asked Andrew if he’d be willing to consider giving PUMA’s air time on The View. I received a reply and forwarded what he wrote in an email to you. So please check your mail and email me if you have any thoughts you would like me to include in my reply to him.
Whew, I’m baaaack!!:(
Wrote to the California supers – told the Hillary supporters to show some guts and still back her. Told the Obama supporters – what the heck are they thinking with this empty suit. Told the uncommitted – show some patriotism and vote for the good of the nation. So far only the Pelosi email got a reply telling me I’m not in her district – duh!

Yeah… and my take on that article is that we’ll have to work extra hard to get BO to dive before the convention because it’s possible that McCain will back off for a while which doesn’t help our cause. I heard on the news this morning that McCain was launching a new ad that will discuss his positions more and stay away from attacking Obama. I wonder if the Republican strategy is already in play.
Lady stay away from that hole there
A quote:

ok tcb4n
Don’t forget, tonight at hcsfjm.com, Rev. Manning will be back and also Ed is interviewing Larry Sinclair! Don’t know if anyone posted this but Rev. Manning claims to have damaging evidence against BO but is not coming out with it at this time. We encouraged him to get the evidence out before the convention so Hillary can become our nominee!! There is great pressure on him to back the empty suit.
does anyone have yesterdays e-mail address for the super delegates ? If so please post it again
ok I’m gone out to post flyers

ladyhawkke – landipuma was helping me with a letter i wrote, trying to edit it so it wasn’t quite so crammed onto the single page. it’s not necessarily a form letter for folks to use, but you’re certainly free to use it as a starting point and make your own changes so it has your own voice behind it.
landipuma – yes, obama did indeed “betray” palmer. i have researched it. essentially what happened was that palmer wanted to run for another office and she and obama made a deal that if she couldn’t collect enough signatures to make that run, that he’d back out of the race so she could at least hold onto the seat she had. she didn’t get enough signatures to run for the other office and obama hit her with a double wammy: 1) he didn’t back out as he had promised, and 2) he nit-picked every signature she gathered to run for her original seat such that she wound up just short of the number required and, therefore, never made it onto the ballot!
Quick question landi – you’ve referred to polls twice in your letter. I think it’d add to the credibility if I could identify which poll. Were they gallop polls, cause I thought the data you provided were what I was reading in gallop. Can you let me know? Thanks. (Meanwhile, the letter still has no more white space than it did before, but I still think your changes are more direct and pointed.)

Just remember, when a book is called a “bestseller,” all it means is that the publisher has sold a bunch of the books to bookstores. It does NOT mean that the book has actually been purchased by READERS any more than any other book.

Please post details if you can, I can’t use that website because of the plugins. Thanks.
MURPHY – Can the link to lobby delegates be posted somewhere obvious on the web site? Folks keep asking about it and it has to keep getting reposted. Maybe it could be included in the sd action listed at the top. I don’t know, but it seems like a central bit of into these days.
Sorry, fellow Pumas, this is a long post, it is updated from when I tried to post yesterday. It’s from Ricki Lieberman at Electibility Watch (EW):
1. (REDUX) YES! A PETITION BY HILLARY’S DELEGATES TO PUT HER NAME INTO NOMINATION
By right, the DNC should place into nomination the name of any candidate who brings delegates to the Democratic National Convention. However, we have come to realize that the DNC has taken on an anti-democratic identity, to its disgrace, so supporters of Senator Clinton are forced to become supplicants.
OK. If that’s how ‘they’ want it…they’ll get it, along with the resolve of the Clinton delegates to see her nominated as the only electable Democrat. For many this is no pro forma.
And we are reminding the Super Delegates that we are holding them responsible for nominating the only electable Democrat, Hillary Clinton.
If you are a HRC delegate, or if you know HRC delegates, please contact hrc300delegates@yahoo.com, ASAP! For more information, please contact Sue Castner 503-203-1027 womenvote2008@gmail.com, or John West 312-399-4458 jwlandscapesllc@gmail.com
2. POLLING FOR CLINTON: Shirley Yonce of Kansas write to the polling companies, “Please include Senator Clinton in your presidential polling. I think that it is extremely important for the super delegates to see if she is still the stronger candidate to help them in their decision to nominate the most electable candidate and not the candidate that donated the most money to their individual campaigns.”
3. Palestinians donate $29,500 to Obama Gazan brothers’ illegal contributions listed in government election filings Aaron Klein WorldNetDaily JERUSALEM – Palestinian brothers inside the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip are listed in government election filings as having donated $29,521.54 to Sen.Obama’s campaign. Donations of this nature would violate election laws, including prohibitions on receiving contributions from foreigners and guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election, Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission, told WND in response to a query.
The contributions also raise numerous questions about the Obama campaign’s lax online donation form, which apparently allows for the possibility of foreign contributions.
In an online form on Obama’s campaign site, the Edwans listed their street as “Tal Esaltan,” which they wrote was located in “Rafah, GA.” Rafah is not a city in Georgia.
The Edwans’ donations are listed in both FEC filings and other election filing sites, such as CampaignMoney and donordata.org.
Monir made 20 donations ranging from $717 to $2017.50 from October through November 2007. His donations totaled $24321.41. Hosam made seven donations ranging from $508.63 to $1725.96, totaling $5,200.13, all in October 2007.
A WND investigation tracked down the Edwans, who are brothers living in the Tal Esaltan neighborhood of Rafah, a large refugee camp in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. The Edwans are a large clan that include top Hamas supporters.
Speaking to WND, the two brothers praised Obama and admitted giving the money online to his campaign. They said they are not U.S. citizens or green cardholders but are citizens of “Palestine.”
4. Obama’s convention crowd: Biggest phone bank ever NEDRA PICKLER and RON FOURNIER, AP DENVER – Those 75,000 Democrats who will pack a football stadium for Barack Obama’s convention speech won’t be there just to whoop and holler on television. They’ll form the world’s largest phone bank to boost voter registration — fired-up supporters using computer targeting the campaign has spent months putting together.The move to the Invesco Field at Mile High stadium for the convention’s final night next month — at an additional cost of $5 million — will capture a huge crowd the Obama campaign plans to put to work. They’ll be armed with data gleaned through “microtargeting” unregistered voters the campaign believes are ripe to back Obama if pressed to get on board. “If we do this right, we’ll be unbeatable,” said Steve Hildebrand, the Obama adviser overseeing the effort….
5. Hey, Barack, Hillary Only Suspended Her Campaign Frank Salvato … Should Barack Obama continue his slide into ego’s abyss, his campaign of arrogance, naively buying his own marketing scheme, should he continue to alienate the loose association of factions that make up the total of his base, he risks fiddling as his Rome burns; he risks facilitating the migration of superdelegates from his candidacy to Hillary Clinton’s. Remember, she suspended her campaign, she didn’t end it.
Should this scenario occur it would not only usurp “Dewey Defeats Truman” as the biggest media failure in American history, it would create a solid field of Leftist support for Hillary Clinton. Liberal and Progressive-Left feminists will be drunk with determination. Those who defected from her camp originally will work twice as hard to make amends and prove their loyalty (come on, who is stupid enough to cross a Clinton in power?). Those who backed Obama will work twice as hard for Hillary to cleanse themselves of their political naivety. And Democrats in general will still have their “history making” event in the nomination of the first female nominee to head a national party ticket.
To put it succinctly, if Obama folds because of his arrogance, because of his ego, it will be twice as hard to stop Hillary Clinton from attaining the White House. http://www.therealitycheck.org/2008/08/02/hey-barack-hillary-only-suspended-her-campaign/
6. SD RESPONSES: Mary Ann Ciazza from Rochester reports: “I have had good communication with the SD’s contacts I contacted last week. I usually call. I noticed that just being myself and my reasons for not supporting Barraak Obama, and I tried after Hillary told her supporters to . I usually tell them that I have always been for Hillary and I’m upset because my only boy is serving in Afghanistan and the snub that Obama did in Germany did it for me. When I’m honest and approach the staff or even sometimes the SD him or herself they seen to respond nice. I approach them truthfully on an emotional level that they can relate to . I try not to go in to depth but just let them know why I now in good conscience could never support Obama… They seem to have more patience when you tell of your own personal reasons like my only young son and then I have noticed compassion from the staff and they usually thank me and tell me they will ceretainly give the messege to the SD. That has worked for me… I think if you have a child fighting and you appeal on an emotional level they listen better. Hillary would have visited that hospital in Germany. We need her; this is serious. I worry about my kid every day.”
7. Anti-Obama Bloggers Say They Were Silenced ANNA PHILLIPS, Special to the Sun | August 5, 2008
Web loggers who are campaigning against Senator Obama’s presidential run are accusing Google and Obama supporters of silencing them after their Web logs were marked as spam and their accounts temporarily frozen…
8. MORE INTERNET THUGGERY? Blog Shutdowns: Spam Attack from IPs Assigned to barackobama.com
“The other day Sitemeter attacked Internet Explorer and shut down quite a few sites. Today, there is another report on Blog Shutdowns from Death By A 1000 Papercuts. Here is what they had to say: At least one of the attacks in the latest wave of blog shutdowns this past week came from IPs assigned to barackobama.com.”…
“On July 22-25 Macsmind was DOS’d (Denial of Service) that originated from three IP addresses that are assigned to Barack Obama’s website. This isn’t a theory but was confirmed via law enforcement through an inspection of the site logs from those dates. The IP address in question; 66.39.4.254 66.39.143.229 216.146.206.181, are all registered via “Go Daddy” under the name barackobama.com.
On those dates, beginning at At 5:48PM Central on the 22nd, the hosted server that contained our site was hit by a 1.6 gigabyte flood of illegitimate traffic. The attacks never abated and only stopped when our host provider took us off line.
Spam traffic originating from three IPs assigned to the barackobama.com would seem to be compelling evidence to the disinterested reader.
Speculation is one thing, but facts are another. This time however we’ve taken protective measures to prevent this from happening again. Additionally the investigation will continue and appropriate interstate authorities have been notified.
Texas Hill Country “Translation: People using computers at the Barack Obama Campaign are using them to systematically hack, attack and shut down websites that don’t agree with him. This is so messed up. It’s some Orewellian type business and it’s stuff like this that makes Obama scary as hell…”
9. CHECK OUT THE SYMBOL: http://www.lakeshoreptv.com/

http://www.volunteersolutions.org/uwpc/org/opp/10248090285.html,
AND FINALLY,
Nata Koerber reminds us: “In 2000, Donna Brazile was in charge of Gore when his campaign decided he should “distance himself from Clinton.” Gore went on to lose Arkansas AND Tennessee. Winning either state would would have made the Florida vote count irrelevant.
In 2008 Team Obama says Barack should pass over Hillary for VP, and distance himself from the Clintons.
Deja`Vu? When we refuse to learn from the mistakes of the past, we are bound to repeat them.”
[Hey, Hillary will win both if she is the nominee and go on to get Democrats back to the White House, winning a strong coalition all across the country, just as she did when running for Senate in New York.]

Thanks for the link,

Take some to the convention too. I defaced 4 that were given to me at work and never received the ONE I ordered on the MoveOn website.
I had 3 prowls at my yahoo account and 4 at my gmail. So I copied the 4th into my yahoo. I thought that one was forgotten at yahoo when I got a 4th at gmail For some reason, I get the prowl at two different addresses.
Sorry about that miniProwl, turns out it is MoveOns website that didn’t send me one sticker over 2 weeks ago.

It strikes me as potentially counter-productive to highlight NObama having embraced and employed the Alinsky Method as a strong negative when the internet is rife with references to both Bill and Hillary having been students of Alinsky, as well.
NOTE: 4th paragraph below:
“Saul Alinsky urged the active and deliberate “conscious-raising” of people through the technique of “popular education.” Popular education is a method by which an organizer leads people to a class-based interpretation of their grievances, and to accept the organizer’s systemic solutions to address those grievances.
“Through the People’s Organization these groups [of citizens] discover that what they considered primarily their individual problem is also the problem of others, and furthermore the only hope for solving an issue of titanic proportions is by pooling all their efforts and strengths. That appreciation and conclusion is an educational process.”
“Rules for Radicals (Alinsky’s book) stresses organizational power-collecting: “The ego of the organizer is stronger and more monumental than the ego of the leader. The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for which a man can reach — to create, to be a ‘great creator’, to play God.”
“Alinsky considered Hillary a terrific “organizer” and wanted her to become his protege. She declined. She had bigger fish to fry. She learned her lessons well. She and Bill have employed Alinsky’s tactics probably better than anyone else.”
My belief is that the Clinton’s employed the strategy with purer hearts than NObama, who seems to be solely serving his own selfish pursuit of power.

OBAMA TO VACATION IN HAWAII
#134 hillinCA
Here is the answer to your question, in the form of a riddle.
Q: Why would Barack Hussein Obama, after campaigning all these months to become the Democratic nominee for POTUS, choose now to take a vacation in Hawaii, the place where he said he was born, in the midst of his poor performance in the primary race?
A: Because he needs to re-invent himself. See

Great to hear, do we know which Super Delegates are the best to contact. I went on another site were we could email all Hillary’s then all *61 super delegates…is that good enough. I am SO HAPPY WITH OUR PROWLS and what more can we do with the SD?

Obama links energy troubles to Cheney
Critical of McCain, Democratic candidate quiet on his own energy vote
Associated Press:
updated 25 minutes ago (Aug 5 2008)
“In stumping Tuesday in this key battleground state, Obama sought to link the troubled economy with Republican policies and offer his own energy plan in contrast. He has tried to cast McCain as more concerned about oil company profits and drilling than an overall energy strategy.
However, Obama himself voted for a 2005 energy bill backed by Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production, a measure Cheney played a major role in developing. McCain opposed the bill on grounds it included billions in unnecessary tax breaks for the oil industry. ”

I did the prowl and also emailed every superdelegate from my state California – tailored the emails for the Hillary declared, the Obama declared and the uncommitted on the list. If we each do it for our own state – we can keep the pressure up.

Billie Jo – Yes, I’ve used the lobby delegates service a lot. They have an e-mail address on their web site if you want to contact them with specific questions or needs. They are very supportive, sympathetic and helpful.
monap – that’s so great that you took the time to tailor your letters a bit. i think that’s helpful and enables us to make them even more targeted.
Did my e-mails but i can’t do the phone calls from work, which is ok, I’m just very happy to do the e-mails.

Do you mean the http://www.lobbydelegates.com/ Yes, I do it all the time – send e-mails to other states. In fact I just got done doing it for my 4th time. I used every single state and check boxes for: Obama’s S.D., the Uncommitted S.D. and this I also did Hillary’s S.D.
It takes a lot of time and I did again this week because I will be going out of town mid next week and won’t be able to do. The more the better as far as I am concerned
.

Guess what, we can send free emails to the supers that are in every state. (Each state at a time, both for Hillary delegates and *61 or uncommitted)
This is great, now I can send emails out from now until the convention when ever I wish there were something more I could do. Just sent them to Michigan and am from Calif. I put MURPHYs prowl as the content with my contact info.
I just wanted to mention I did the four prowls, nice to see them. As I just mentioned above I also just got done using the lobby delegate site and used every state and every box I could check
.
It has been a busy day but I am happy
.
anonymous – i wouldn’t get too distracted by any polls. polls will change every day between now and the election. there are so many elements beyond our control. who knows where we’re getting. we just have to keep doing the right thing. how it all will unfold is anybody’s guess. trust your instincts and keep making sure your voice is raised. that’s all you can do. if people involved in movements all around the world all through time got discouraged because they felt their “cause” (for lack of a better word) wasn’t getting where, their cause would indeed get nowhere because people would throw in the towel out of discouragement. the process of change is often long and slow. of course we wish it would be short and fast! but, it rarely is. hang in there. take heart in knowing you’re on the right team!

“Q: Will Senator Clinton’s name be placed in nomination?
A: Yes.”
And she would know this, how? Have enough notarized nomination petition signatures been collected? Has Senator Clinton signed off on the nomination?
yes dances.
dances – your questions should be placed somewhere prominent to help callers know how to press for reliable information. they are right on the money! (as usual)

I just wanted to mention I did the four prowls, nice to see them. As I just mentioned above I also just got done using the lobby delegate site and used every state and every box I could check
.
It has been a busy day but I am happy
.
Every state, wow, I am impressed!
Great job.
Prowls complete.

DNC headquarters and the poor woman who answered sounds like she’s been trampled by wild felines.
I think Dean’s workers have been instructed to agree to the placed-in-nomination question in order to appease us and make us stop calling. However, I will be calling every day, asking for more details.
#242 Billie Jo – I have been using lobbydelegates for 3 months now and I know it gets to the people that need to get my message – at latest count have had over 55 responses back – a couple of HIS that wanted to be agressive – but guess what – one of them will be secretly switching over to her – I felt like I had won the nomination with that one – there is one from Oregon – a Mr. Kinney with the DNC – that is what you would typically get from a Gollum supporter – lots of rough talk and could care less about my ONE VOTE – and don’t I ever read the newspapers and listen to the biased MSM – so yes I would say use it over and over and over again – it is making a difference.
I have to apologize to anyone else that might be sending me a message here – my worthless internet provider is shutting down again in another ten minutes and might last for a couple of days – makes doing my emailing very difficult with those conditions – been going on for two weeks now -
So with that – I wish all you good Pumas a good day -
Drac
By the way, for whatever it’s worth, when I called the DNC today and asked about Clinton’s name being placed in nomination a rather tired sounding woman said: “Ma’am. I don’t know. Let me transfer you.” (I knew that was the kiss of death since I’d get……voice mail). So there you go. We all probably got the whole range of possible answers today because, as per my previous post:
“they’re misinformed, rude and manipulative.”
Making calls like this, for me, isn’t about gathering accurate info, cause I simply don’t expect that from the DNC. (Sad but true.) It’s more about being part of a chorus of voices saying the same thing.
Prowling to supers done from Ohio!
All 4 prowls done. My claws are extra sharp today!
margenau – i like your idea of calling them every day. i think i’ll add that to my “to do” list. thanks for the idea. i think it’s a good one. (might leave them scrambling for a new phone number!)
Finished all my prowls. Called got voice mail.
Obama supporters are praying for us.
Pray for HRC and her supporters (Community Service)
From 6/1-9/1 Watching the spectical on Sat. at the rules meeting breaks my heart. We can’t wait for HRC to see the light on her own, we need to begin praying for her and her supporters now. Please commit to praying for them daily to 1) stop trying to hurt the Obama’s and the Democratic party. 2) Pray God will speak to them all and change their hearts so their only pursuit will be party unity and whole heartedly backing Sen. Obama.

I made my call , got caught off in middle of first sentence, said they knew why I was calling, got put on hold for awhile then got disconnected , called back and said I believe we got disconnected she said “oh sorry about that put me on hold again and got put to a voice mail.
slyt2 – sounds like a press release to me. the dnc is blatantly cutting out our voices.
The Obama supporters are praying for us? That explains why PUMA is kicking butt!
Anna7000 I think this woman was about the rudest person I have ever talked to so far, I almost called back to say I thought I was going to talk to a person but I didn’t want to do anything that might go against the puma pac (meaning make things worse for us).Plus she kind of scared me… I get nervous easy…lol
I’ve sent all my emails and then some but I could only leave a voicemail.

Ick. Ick. ick.
I don’t mind, I even appreciate it, when someone includes me in their prayers or meta-prayers, but,
I find it repugnant when someone prayers for me to change my heart’s desire, or so that their “team” wins a competition, or prayers for me to redirect my path, or any specifically selfish reason,. Can prayer be any more superficial? The lackwitted arrogance of such a prayer in beyond my comprehension.
Note: If anyone wants to pray for me, then pray for God’s will to be done, for the greatest good for all concerned. Thanks.

Thanks Goalcard for the info. I just got an email back saying I wouldn’t get a responce because I didn’t live in her district and could go to her website and fill out a form, I just did a reply to her email address and pasted in our prowl of the day…so she got the message twice on the same dime. slyt2 – i, for one, appreciate your sensitivity to how you conduct yourself ie how it reflects on all of us in this movement. the woman i got wasn’t rude, just weary. but i’ve talked to lots of rude folks at the dnc these past many weeks.
now i’m trying to register to blog on the dnc web site, but they’re having technical difficulties and i can’t complete the registration process. will check back later. if i am able to send in a post and find that they are never printed (despite them being well written and not rude or using bad language) i’m going to write a letter (could be a letter to the editor and/or something murphy could use as a press release if she wanted) about how the dnc is blocking democratic voices, while touting an “open” convention. i can site the way our phone calls are being treated AND how any blog that is at all questioning or critical of them/obama is not printed. but first i need to determine if the latter is true.

I keep thinking that if you order the BO stickers — that will send a strong message to moveon.org that there’s an interest in Obama.
Personally — while it might be fun to put PUMA paw marks on the stickers… I think it’s in the better interest of what we’re trying to accomplish to let interest in anything associated with BO die out. IOW — it’s better if there’s NO interest in obtaining the stickers than some interest (since moveon.org won’t know what your intent with the stickers will be).

Hillary Clinton to campaign for Obama

Sen. Clinton will campaign for her former rival in two states this month, according to the Obama campaign.

Lifetime poll: 1 in 5 Clinton voters supporting McCain; Obama leading with women voters, but neither has majority.
By Lynn Sweet on August 5, 2008 12:18 PM
Lifetime Network unveils a new “Every Woman Counts” poll on Tuesday…..showing at least 10 percent of the female vote is up for grabs…..
According to the survey, neither presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama nor Republican presidential nominee John McCain has secured a clear majority of women, who have decided every presidential election since 1968. Obama garnered 49% to McCain’s 38%, and 6% of these women said they were only leaning toward a candidate. With 90 days to go until Election Day, 10% of women are firmly undecided, indicating either candidate has a shot at becoming the next president.

I am not worried about what precious, DNC nor Moveon thinks, I never donated to them, supported them nor have I received on skinny@ssed sticker to deface. But I get emails from them all the time and no matter how much I write back and tell them to buzz off, they send one of their spamCanned emails thanking me for all my support. This woman at work had a pile of them and if I could have gotten a pile to re-focus voters, they sick to things really well, for a very long time…so it would have been worth it. One tiny sicker will only use up a few pennies of their funds.

Any way we can get one of these faux press credentials and get into the convention?

Hey Pumas — GREAT Prowling today.
Keep sending those letters.
This is our week for ACTION!
Following up on Billie Jo’s idea:
Two people go into a room: Marueen Dowd and a PUMA. Only the PUMA comes out (with Dowd’s press credentials of course)!
Don’t worry, Murphy. I think we’re all on a roll. For me, right now, PUMA stands for “Particularly Urgent Meaninful Action”!
dang……. HI everyone….. did my prowls … then stupid me……
oh I hope you will forgive me Murphy!!!…
Delegates available at the convention if Florida and Michigan get full votes. Shouldn’t we send many emails to these delegates ASAP?
FL there would be 210
MI there would be 128
Do we have a couple of PUMAs that can give us some fake address on a real street, in a real town with a real zip code,
so we can write Michigan and Florida Super delegates and possibly have them read?
Billie Jo – Damn. You’re on fire! Another great idea! I hope Murphy will organize your suggestions into something for everyone to focus on. Meanwhile, I’m taking them in for my own use as I am able to integrate them into my efforts. Thanks!

There has got to be a way! There are thousands of regular people in the convention, dang golly, (:-P) I have seen them on tv. We need to get some PUMAs into the convention.
Oh. Hold on. I got confused. You’re talking about pledged delegates not super delegates. Sorry.
#325 Anna7000 on 08.05.08 at 5:03 pm
Billie Jo – Per your most recent post: Why not use lobbydelegates just select those states?
Because some of them bounce back if you are not in their state, some want their district but some get though. I was hoping to narrow down the bounce backs.
Ugh. Our posts keep crossing. I think your original strategy has to do with pledged delegates. You can’t contact them using lobby delegates.
#323 BillyJo – COMPUTER IS BACK UP FOR AN HOUR YEAH -
This is how you get to all those superdelegates who will not give you the time of day unless you are in their district – go to google – type in their name and state – example – John Doe – Florida – bring up their website – look at their offices in that state – write down their zip code and telephone number – when filling out their form – use Main Street – 1144 Main Street as an address their office city and State – and zip code – works like a charm every time – have done at least 350 like that – and you even get back answers – this takes time but it sure does work

Hey BillieJo — Regarding the article you posted:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/08/05/hillary-clinton-to-campaign-for-obama/
I wouldn’t worry too much about this. First the source is CNN. So my take on that piece of information alone is that since they are totally in the tank for BO — they’ll believe anything BO camp feeds them and they tend to publish without questioning details. Speaking of details… also notice the article is vague on many of the details. Also typical of CNN articles when they’re trying to put that happy BO face on any morsel of “Clinton campaigning for BO info.”
I also picture the third factor here is BO’s heavy need for damage control marketing. He needs to make it appear that everything is moving smoothly for his campaign into the convention. So again — anyone reading that article should take the information with a grain of salt.
#327 Anna7000 on 08.05.08 at 5:04 pm

Hey BillieJo — Regarding the article you posted:
Just because it’s posted on CNN doesn’t necessarily mean it is untrue that Hillary will be out campaigning again. She will be alone at least for the first one, Obama is going to be on vacation in Hawaii, maybe trying to get a more realistic copy of his BC…and possibly the second event too. The Honorable Rod R. Blagojevich
Office of the Governor
207 State House
Springfield, IL 62706
Dear Governor Blagojevich:
This is an inquiry as to why Dan White’s Board of Elections has failed to investigate the eligibility of Senator Barack Obama to hold the office of Senator for the State of Illinois. Under the Constitution, a Senator must be a US citizen for nine years prior to becoming Senator. Proof of citizenship is an authentic birth certificate. But in recent weeks Mr. Obama’s supporters have posted a fraudulent birth certificate on a Web site, and Mr. Obama has failed to respond to my and others’ requests for a copy of his birth certificate. The issue of whether Mr. Obama was actually born in the State of Hawaii is heightened by his birth’s having been recorded in two unrelated hospitals, both in Honolulu, and by persistent questions about his mother’s whereabouts at the time of birth. Because of its culture of secrecy, the State of Hawaii has refused to make the presidential candidate’s birth information public.
Some observers have suggested that, like Hawaii, Illinois’s famously corrupt and secretive political culture ensures that Mr. White will fail to do his job and investigate the propriety of Mr. Obama’s holding the office of Senator. I urge you to oversee a thorough and open investigation of Mr. Obama’s place of birth.
Sincerely,
Mitchell Langbert, Ph.D.

Billie Jo – I also worked on tht data base. I think that it’s very tricky how Murphy uses it because we wouldn’t want to make it so readily available so that Obama’s supporters could just come over here and use all of that data that we worked so hard to compile.
Also, the fact is that sd’s are NOT obligated to vote the way their state or district voted. The truth is the Clinton campaign was making that argument a long time ago. SD’s are supposed to be independent in the way they vote. Their role is to help make sure the party has the best strategy for wining the GE. So, while I’m sure many of us do use the argument when contacting them about how their district or state voted, truly, that’s not their obligation. That’s one of the really crazy things that’s going on now: Originally (back in the day) all the SD’s were saying how they didn’t want to go against the will of the people. So they were essentially saying that the voter majority should guide their vote (even though that’s not, technically, what they’re obligated to follow). Then, suddenly, when Clinton wins the popular vote and lots of states, and wins lots of states, big, allakazam, no more talk of not wanting to go against the will of the voters.
Madness, what can I say?

Yes, the zip code website works but first you have to know the right zip code. The database we made should have the contact info already.
john – i LOVE you letter. some one who claimed to work in public records posted over at hillarygrassrootscampaign a while back that birth certificates are never made public (unless the person releases it themselves). i know nothing about that, but they seemed credible. if they are correct, then it would be impossible to have that info released….wonder how we could confirm whether that poster was correct.

I absolutely agree. Not saying that HRC won’t be out on those dates… just saying I’m not so sure it will be completely a pro-Obama agenda. And I also agree with your thought that I’d love to be there to support her with pro-Clinton signs myself. I just wanted to post my comments so others wouldn’t be upset by the information. I know how upsetting it is at just the thought of Hillary having to answer to BO at all — so I was merely trying to make the point to consider the source (which was CNN) and that it might not be so bad as it seems.
Excellent letter, John regarding the birth certificate – did I read somewhere on this blog some place – some time – that in the terrible event that Precious is the Democratic Nominee that he has to petition every state to put him on the ballet – could we not use the same kind of letter from all of us in the states that we reside – making it impossible for him to be placed on ballot in each state without that birth certificate?? Maybe I have misquoted but think that is what I read

So they were essentially saying that the voter majority should guide their vote (even though that’s not, technically, what they’re obligated to follow).
I am just going to use the prowl that Murphy sent out, make it to delegate or super delegate. It didn’t say they had to vote the way their state did, just who is most electable and qualified.

I agree, personally I would love to see Hillary, anywhere no matter if she pretended to support Donna B. I would ignore Donna, and hold up my huge Hillary sign.
Billie Jo -
1. My post about best to ignore some posts was not directed at you at all. (It was about another post that was provoking and I was hoping folks wouldn’t get distracted.)
2. Yeah, I think the best argument is always who’s most qualified and most electable. (That said, sometimes if Clinton won by a HUGE margin, I do throw that fact in for good measure if I’m tailoring my letters in any way!)
Hi everyone,
I have been away for a few days, just sent the emails and now trying to catch up here.
Regarding precious going to Hawaii, I hope his real reason is not trying to “obtain” a live-birth certificate.
Any updates on the 300 delegate signatures? I think we must make sure Hillary’s name will be placed in nomination in one way or another.
I also think that it is a very smart idea for Hillary to “campaign” for Barack on two dates in August because it is time now for her to prepare the Obama supporters – if you know what I mean.
I am going to make a bold prediction here:
If we can help to place Hillary’s name in Denver for the nomination successfully, she will be the next president of the United States.
Well, I am back from my afternoon excursion. Only saw one Obama sign on my journey.
Got my prowl done, and feel good about it.
FDP Chair Thurman Hails Sen. Obama’s Decision to Restore Full Delegation Vote
NEWS FROM THE FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTY
For Immediate Release: August 3, 2008
Tallahassee, FL – Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Karen Thurman today released the following statement in reaction to Sen. Barack Obama urging the DNC credentials committee to restore the Florida delegations full vote at the convention.
“Today is a proud day for all of us who fought so hard to ensure Floridians votes are fully counted.
“Just minutes ago, Sen. Barack Obama sent a letter to the DNC credentials committee urging them to restore the full vote of the Michigan and Florida Delegations, proving his commitment to uniting the party and ending the uncertainty surrounding the process.
“With Florida’s economy in recession for the first time in 16 years, our state leading the nation in job loss, and we are number two in foreclosures, Floridians in every corner of our state are excited to elect Barack Obama and other Democrats this fall to bring change to Washington and Florida. The people of Florida know
I just went to the FLA Democratic website to find delegates and this almost made me toss my cookies.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
“I want to thank Barack Obama, the Florida Congressional Delegation, the Democrats in our Legislature, and voters across Florida for fighting to have our votes count. This is a proud day for all of us.”
I love the energy here, PUMAs. There is always something going on here that is moving us forward, with just the right amount of “puuuuuurrrrrrrrrr” and the right amount of “gggrrrrrrrrrrrrr”.
Eyes on the Prize, PUMAs
I have done alot today. I had a nerve test done on my legs [OUCH] I have done all 4 prowls via email. I feel good!
Rats, I didn’t try to post that long thing above…just the part were *61 is given credit!
Is there a *61bot hacking this site? Heheh.
scathcart,
i think you are reading the response differently than others are. i know what you mean but i think others take it as he wants us to support BO.
ABinNY – LOVE you comment about how we’re balancing “puuuuuuuuuuuur” with “ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”! You got me smiling broadly!
I need to go prowl about with my really fancy fliers (I love ‘em! Almost hate to give ‘em up, but I gotta’!)

That’s what I do all the time.
Some days more than others.
Today is a good day.
“Dick” is on Fox talking about Bill….UUUGGGGHHHHH, he is insuferable.
He says there is a significant chance that McCain can win. And Hillary can win in 2012.
I just sent in a donation. Come on Pumas, join me to help finance all that is going on here. We will not look the other way while the new party leaders redefine Democracy.
I wish Hillary would start a new party.
Am I here alone? Did everyone go upstairs?
YOUR NORTHERN NEIGHBOR – I SECOND THAT MOTION
Thought I would pop in down here and let everyone know I have done all four prowls for the day… Cheers!
Back in for a short time, had time to call and send e-mails, so prowls done.
Left flyers at Costco, Target and Barnes & Noble, right next to “The Obama Nation”, also at the bowling alley, stuffed a few in the menus scattered on the high top tables!
Heading down to the art museum, where all the restrooms will be adorned w/ flyers and then off to the most famous pizza in Phoenix, that’s right, more flyers.
See you all tomorrow, the kool-aide drinker will be with me for the rest of the evening (my husband)
did you hear the spoksman for BO say that he (BO) wanted the gas prices to go up to 6 or 7 dollars…i didnt hear all of it so i don’t know why…omg is he nuts ???
Fox news had a news clip on just now Bill Clinton was talking , he is backing Nobama but he can’t say that Nobama is ready to lead so they asked Dick Morris and he said he can’t say it because he know’s he is not ready to lead so they are saying Bill will get a lot of flack from that.

Totally on the same page. I get so envious of the ones that do get to attend these events. Unfortunately — like many these days — I work two jobs to make ends meet. I have a day 8 to 5 job during the weekdays (which I’m not supposed to — but I keep an eye on the blog while at work). And in the evenings and weekends I do Tech Editing work out of my home. So very little free time (or money) for traveling.
But I do try to do whatever possible by sending out emails in the evenings and keeping up with information from the posts.
Also — this may be off topic — but speaking of information. Since The View tends to make news a lot (and often with Obama related information) — maybe some of you would find this tidbit interesting (from an AOL site):
“Barbara Walters wants Sherri Shepherd off ‘The View’ because she’s a “loose cannon,” claims Celebitchy . The veteran newswoman thinks the controversial co-host is even more difficult than Star Jones or Rosie O’Donnell. More difficult than Rosie? Is that even possible? (Aug. 5)”
Bombshell: Stanley Kurtz Discovers Obama’s “Lost” Papers
Race
Any rounded treatment of Obama’s early political career has got to give prominence to the issue of race. Obama has recently made efforts to preemptively blunt discussion of the race issue, warning that his critics will highlight the fact that he is African American. Yet the question of race plays so large a role in Obama’s own thought and action that it is all but impossible to discuss his political trajectory without acknowledging the extent to which it engrosses him. [snip]
In 2004, a U.S. District Court disallowed the ordinance under which Chicago required the use of at least 25 percent minority business enterprises and 5 percent women’s business enterprises on city-funded projects. In the immediate aftermath of the ruling, Obama and Jesse Jackson were among the prominent voices calling for a black leadership summit to plot strategy for a restoration of Chicago’s construction quotas. Obama and his allies succeeded in bringing back race-based contracting.
No Hispanics Encroaching in Black Areas
When the 2000 census revealed dramatic growth in Chicago’s Hispanic and Asian populations alongside a decline in the number of African Americans, the Illinois black caucus was alarmed at the prospect that the number of blacks in the Illinois General Assembly might decline. At that point, Obama stepped to the forefront of the effort to preserve as many black seats as possible. The Defender quotes Obama as saying that, “while everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.”

You need to put your energies now into getting Democrats– including Sen. Obama elected. She has taken another path– she will soon be a most powerful Senator ever!!! Sen. Kennedy’s retirement leaves a great opening— (If we get a few new Democratic Senators ( Colorado- New Mexico and Alaska) She could even get a spot on the Supreme Court— but what ever she wants it is not to be living in the Navel Observatory as a minor player.
Her life is not over–she ran a wonderful race– she represented women in a wonderful way– she has moved on we have to move on too.
Time to move on—

State Democrats high on Obama’s chances in Indiana
By MIKE SMITH | AP Political Writer
1:01 AM CDT, August 4, 2008
INDIANAPOLIS – It’s been years since top state Democrats have expressed high hopes that their party’s presidential nominee could win Indiana’s electoral votes.
Not since Lyndon Johnson in 1964 has their candidate carried the state, a statistic that has earned Indiana a reputation as one of the nation’s most solid Republican strongholds on the presidential level.
But with three months to go before the November election, state Democrats say they’re genuinely jazzed about the chances of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama breaking the GOP streak — with or without Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh as his running mate.
“On the one hand, they have the issues, and on the other end they have the organization, and the combination of those things makes their campaign very potent and winnable,” said former state Democratic Chairman Robin Winston.
State GOP Chairman Murray Clark and the campaign of GOP presidential nominee John McCain say they are confident McCain will keep Indiana in the red column come November. But they say they are taking nothing for granted — and they might have good reasons not to.
“I think it sounds like Sen. Obama really wants to win Indiana and is willing to commit significant resources to do that,” Clark said. “He will outspend Sen. McCain here significantly, we know that. We understand that, but nevertheless we will work very hard to counter that and I’m confident the he (McCain) can carry Indiana.”
Obama has been retrenching in the state since narrowly losing the May 6 primary to Hillary Rodham Clinton. That race — the first meaningful presidential primary in Indiana in 40 years — drew so many voters that some precincts ran out of Democratic ballots.
Obama’s campaign had opened 15 offices in Indiana as of late last week and planned to open more. Obama assigned Emily Parcell, his political director in Iowa when he won that state’s caucus, to be his Indiana director.
The campaign has 120 full-time volunteer organizers working on grassroots efforts, said Jonathan Swain, Obama’s Indiana communications director. Dozens of campaign events have been held, including house parties and panel discussions where supporters promote his policy stances and call for change.
When Exxon Mobil Corp. announced last Thursday that its second-quarter profit reached nearly $12 billion, the Obama campaign started a voter registration effort at several gas stations around Indiana.
The campaign and its Indiana supporters say high gasoline prices and the sluggish economy have many residents demanding change, and Obama is the one who can deliver it.
Swain and others also say that the Democratic presidential primary in Indiana is still paying off because it energized so many voters and allowed Obama to establish a base of operations and support.
“I think the fact that Sen. Obama spent so much time here, he’s been able to build up a great infrastructure and foundation to take advantage of issues going our way,” said state Democratic Chairman Dan Parker.
Former Democratic state House Speaker John Gregg said he couldn’t remember a time when a Democratic presidential nominee had a headquarters in Indiana, let alone numerous other offices around the state. It will still be tough for Obama to win, he said, “But I think it can happen.”
Clark said the state Republican Party will work closely with the McCain campaign to get his message out. At the presidential level, he said, Hoosiers want good, strong, conservative leadership.
“I think John McCain will do quite well in this state,” he said.
Leah Yoon, McCain’s communications director for Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan, said Obama’s liberal views do not match Hoosier values.
“Hoosiers will always know exactly where John McCain stands,” she said. “Whether it is providing real solutions to our current economic struggles or creating a comprehensive plan to break our dependence on foreign oil, John McCain has plans that resonate with Hoosiers, and his proven leadership will continue to garner support.”
McCain may dash the hopes of state Democrats come November, but the fact that they have hope of their nominee winning the state at all is definitely out of the norm.

~~~~~~~
Not surprising — some weeks back BO actually wasn’t disappointed that the gas prices went up to $4 a gallon… he was just disappointed that it went up so quickly… he said he would have preferred a more gradual increase. If anyone has a YouTube link to that sound bite… I’d love to know about it. Fox often mentions that statement though.
Just thinking back from Nightline when Kate Snow was making comment about Chelsea being in Africa with her Father – just like a first lady – wouldn’t it be great if both President Clintons were on the campaign trail for their daughter also running for President in a few years……she certainly will have had the experience.
Hey… went shopping, and found Obamanation at Costco’s… only 16.00… and at the check out station the lady said to me, “I think that Obama would make a great president.” Imagine my shock and response PUMA’s..LOL… My answer (said nicely with a smile on my face):
Then You haven’t been doing your homework… He hasn’t even shown us his real birth certificate and flip-flops all over the place.
She then asked: Well better than McCain or HIllary… I smiled and said
“Hillary still has a chance..” I smiled, she said to have a great day……anyway… got home and did my prowls and put away the grocs and started reading the book.
I love this guys credentials!!!
This TNR article is my favorite — it even has a quote from NARAL exclaiming that they are hurting from PUMA’s:
I believe Bo wants gas price hikes cause that’s possibly what he promised all the oil companies who’s employee forked over their hard earned cash to him through donations. choke choke As if those donations weren’t bonus given by the owners for that exact purpose. I know few oil company employees who can afford to give the max in donations so quickly
she doesn’t get to have her name removed. She is a SuperD and answers to the voters! These “whining” superDs are getting on my nerves. We don’t have to “move on.” Time enough for that if the convention leads to Obama officially getting the nomination.
We had a huge team, I have never worked on a project with so many people from so many different locations before. And not one single glitch. Everyone was just happy to find the slightest detail. lol after the database has served its purpose I’d love to compile a journal of those responses, it would make everyone smile.
Seriously, it was fast and pretty accurate, I’m still blown away by it. Especially considering some of the people who helped have never researched on the internet before.
I can say with 100% conviction, I am more than proud of them. And I will forever remember how much work they did and we did not get one single complaint.
I tell you when I open my own company (my goal is in 5 years) I’m going to be looking for them to work for me
And that’s a promise.
Turn around, Obama, Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 17:18 EDT
Anyway, there’s a new Zogby poll out. Despite the fact that results from Zogby polls have been questionable in the past, usually Zogby results are dismissed as too favorable to Democrats, so the latest results showing Obama tanking with key groups (women, young voters) should cause some alarm — with major emphasis here on “some.” It is still only August: In the next three months we still have veep picks, conventions, presidential debates, dozens more ads, hundreds more candidate appearances, and what will seem like millions of spin and counterspin points from both campaigns.
#414 TLCPUMA I agree, BO’s trip to Hawaii at this time is suspicious. I believe he is going over there to get this birth certificate mess straightened out. What I’m worried about is that he is so crooked that he will pay someone off. Will talk to you at Ed Hale’s site tonight. Should be interesting, Rev Manning is also going to be on as well as Larry Sinclair.
#420 Alice Rodham Puma That is a fabulous video, I’m saving it, that’s one of my favorite Kenny Rogers’ songs. Aren’t Pumas clever?
Prowls Done!
I have been reading Corsi’s book – Obama Nation. I’m not sure until it’s completely read if he ever addresses the dual citizenship issue. However on page 52 beginning with the last paragraph (while discussing issues on studies in Indonesia government school if it included Muslim):
“The Laotze blog, run by an American expatriate in Southeast Asia, documents that Obama, registered under the name “Barry Soetoro,” with serial number 203, entered the Catholic Franciscan Assisi Primary School on January 1, 1968, as was enrolled in Class 1B. Scholl documents listed Barry Soetoro as an Indonesian citizen born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.”
I would just go out of my mind if vetting by all 50 states does not address this issue (after all we can’t count on the DNC to do this, can we?).
#254 Anonymous-DON’T SWEAT THE POLLS
My spelling is not the best but I know numbers. Some of the polls are biased. The more reliable ones are manipulated. In other words, the tail is wagging the dog. This is how it is done:
The GOP wants to minimize expenses now to build resources for later.
They use only enough resources to maintain their candidate slightly behind.
If they get too far behind, it gets too hard to recover and they risk winning the election.
If they get too far ahead, they are wasting resources and Clinton reemerges as a threat.
As far as I can tell, they have been keeping McCain 3% behind Obama, based on Gallup results. However, they can only contol the variations so well. McCain averages 3% different, but that can range from 0-7% as typical. The 9% the other day was unusual, but it was not sustained.
It is all average and standard deviation analysis. The Gallop Daily is a moving average of 3 days of results. If you want more information research: Statistical Process Control.
#427 Alice Rodham Puma No my dorky husband had the volume on mute…so I got it now..lol
TRISH – How much more gracious could a person be than you have just been.
BUT,
you did so much work on that data base and continue to do mounds of work on behalf of this movement. You, and so many are working tirelessly behind the scenes for the benefit of us all.
Thank you for your generous and gracious spirit, but you must accept a standing ovation:
THANK YOU TRISH!!!!
For the puma’s that are worried about Hillary campaigning for Obama I look at it this way.
By Hillary campaigning again, it will bring out that shine again – For people who might have forgotten just how good Hillary is it will help bring those people out again.
For people who are having serious doubts about Obama now, it will bring them around to seeing what a difference the two are and hopefully get them onboard the puma train
. I just look at it in a positive way myself.
Of course there are the very clear reasons why Hillary has to campaign for Obama, they all have been said before. I still say the more the DNC calls on Hillary the better we are doing and the worse Obama is doing. Just my thoughts…
Prowl done.
powling powerfully
they are getting testy…very very testy…I think this means that we are getting to them!!
Trish –
Thank you for the untold hours you have selflessly given.
I was finally able to register at the DNC web site in order to blog. I went to the top thread about McCain’s VP choices and typed:
“Glad to see the DNC is doing such a top knotch job in vetting McCain’s VP prospects. Too bad you didn’t do such a thorough job with our own presumptive Presidential nominee.”
When I clicked to post it I got a notice that said I was not allowed to post. (Made me paranoid and proud in a wierd way!)
???
Has anyone else been able to blog over there?
Bill K – Love your thinking. Really appreciate that post. Couldn’t have said it better. You nailed it. Right on and very inspiring persective.
PS I went back to the DNC blog and did a little experiment by posting something that wasn’t critical, but it didn’t work either. (I didn’t think it had to do with the content because the message that I couldn’t post pops up immediately after I click on the button to post.)
Couple requests:
Can anyone give me a link for the station that Manning will be speaking on?
Also — does anyone have links to the media appearances by Cristi Adkins on July 28th… and Will Bower around the same date or later. And I think someone mentioned another PUMA related media appearance that took place today… any info or links?
Well, the Rurouni has returned to the blog! But that is not the announcement that I have.
I was just watching the CBS News and they had a segment saying that not of Hillary supporters are willing to join the Jester’s side…
so we are finally being noticed I suppose…even though they did not name groups or anything but it is a start ne?
also have you noticed that the Jester symbol looks like an eyeball being halfway covered??? Hmmm a little hidden meaning perhaps?
#438 Anna7000
Anna7000 — I think I read somewhere that the Obama site (which may include the DNC site as well) has blocked anyone from blogging that isn’t a proven pro-Obama blogger. I could be wrong… but I’m pretty sure I saw an article or a posting here to that affect.
#439 Anna7000 – thanks, glad I might have brought a different view point, a brighter one perhaps
.
Prowls Done.
I also put a Hillary Clinton bumper sticker on my car. That car just turned 20 years old and has never has a bumper sticker on it before.
~~~~~~
Did you know that BO stole his logo idea from Chicago’s Lake Shore Public TV logo?
Check out their logo:
http://www.lakeshoreptv.com/
mzebest – yeah, i heard that, too, which is what inspired me to try my little experiment. how would they know who is a “proven bo supporter, though”? i mean, the registration process involved providing an e-mail address, but it’s hard to imagine that they have some way of checking that against past messages from that address that weren’t friendly. plus, what about new folks with no history? you’d think they would want them to be able to sit down to the little cool aid party. so, it’s still a bit murky to me….
Ah thanks sorry! I didn’t know it just to me looked like an eyeball being halfway covered by a blind fold…well isn’t he just a thieving little Jester?
Anna – do you want me to try and paste it on to their site? I just joined it – dnc – so that i can test it and post your post.

you can go and read the blogs–they have been writing about it for 2-3 days…
very totalitarian, very fascist, very BO, very depressing
jenniforhillary – this is why i wanted to try to blog. i was/am trying to aquire evidence of the ways the dnc is literally blocking democratic voices.
#455 Well that is not very Democratic of them is it?
In the quest for a little lift, I am sending this out:
Hey Murphy and Dances – I finally finished the apron I was working on the other night. Wondering how your ironing and crocheting is going.
Anna–they simply deactivated accounts of bloggers who they considered ‘bad’ (i.e. pro Hillary). You can go on and ask any of the remaining bloggers who are complaining about it….

Thanks for the info… and I emailed myself the link cjv so I won’t forget to listen when I get home from work. 8 pm ET is just about the time I get home for dinner PT.
Getting the word out on *61’s questionable residency and concerns about his access to these records while he is in Hawaii.
#422 Ladyhawke
#441 Mzebest
This needs to be pushed with Pastor Manning so if he happens to know anything about his birth/residency issue and that if it doesn’t come out soon, then he could have records altered or created before anyone else gets to them. It has to come out now.
The McCain campaign, needs to be aware of the situation and there is concern about what may happen to the legitimacy of residency documents, during his visit to Hawaii.
Senator Clinton’s camp also needs to be made aware of his residency issue and maybe even all of her delegates by just giving them what information we have so far? What do you think?
I keep thinking we need a Private Investigator like that one Dr. Phil always uses. I think he used to work for the FBI or something and he gets results pretty fast. I know Dr. Phil and Oprah are all in the tank together but I would think the PI would have a client confidentiality agreement or something.
Sorry, just feeling frustrated and like our back are against the wall on this.
#454 They probably have some BOcode. I think the DNC and Obama are getting a bit worried. I find it hard to believe that he is going on a vacation now. He is down in the polls and leaves Hillary to cover for him. Very Arrogant
I just have to say this….I’m getting tired of seeing the aids for the support of the Jester on Facebook…I get on there to take care of some things and I see so many aids for him on it…I’m getting tired of it…(just a little rant from me…)
mzebest–go to the dnc blog site and find retired army. He will tell you everything. There have been weeks of anti-semitic anti-gay bashing and they get rid of PUMA and pro-hillary and leave the pro-BO anti-semites and anti-gays. His name is jack, and he will tell you what you want to know.

I know as soon as I post this, that Murphy will start a new thread upstairs. I’ve been trying to read everything, but there is so much……..
One question – what is the “red state” comment or link or something?
I also bought both Pretender’s books today: Obama Nation and The Case against Barack Obama. I purchased them at Border’s Book Store here in San Antonio. The “young” sales clerk was very helpful. I can hardly start reading it.
I’ll be in and out ’cause I have to “enter” my day’s work on the net.

Hello, all,
I haven’t posted for awhile, but I have been trying to keep up with all of the posts and prowls. Just wanted to report that I completed the PROWL for today–at least sending the emails to supers. Also, watched a movie the other night called The Contender. I was made in 2000 and it addressed the sexism in the process of nominating a woman vice president. Very enlightening and prophetic. However in this movie the President, played by Jeff Bridges, stood up for the female candidate while the confirmation committee was trying to smear her and undermine her nomination. Oh, that we had such a hero amongst our Democratic leaders!
blue blue gal – that’s exactly what happened to me. geez. thanks for trying. welcome to the club (at least we’re in the right one.)

Thanks — I was just about to ask where specifically to find those blogs… I’ll go investigate.

Also — Hopefully, the people at the department know they are not allowed to alter any COLB… so don’t know if he’d be able to bribe them to do so or not. Wouldn’t put it past him to try this though… But as far as the information coming out… the lady that is doing the investigative work said (on the PUMA radio station) that we have to wait until after the convention to see if he’s the official nominee. Then once he petitions to be on all the state ballots — this would be the time when we can challenge his petitions. So that’s why something hasn’t been done about it now. The timing needs to be just right.
Here’s a draft of a letter I’m writing to send to the press. Murphy if you want to work on it as a press release, feel free. It’s the first draft, not edited or anything (as I joke to my husband about first drafts I feel shy about because they’re so unfinished, I say, but remember, it’s very drafty, then I close the window!):

To all interested parties:
While the Democratic Party is calling for an “open” convention they are taking steps to deliberately and actively silence the voices of many party members who dare to disagree, challenge or question their decisions or motives. They are doing this by not accepting phone calls at party headquarters from Democrats who have certain questions to ask and by disallowing thousands of Democrats from participating on the DNC web site blog. They are doing this through rude and insulting communications from Superdelegates in response to Democratic voters communications with them regarding concerns about the upcoming convention. And they are doing this by stigmatizing those who dare to hold a different point of view.
Is it democratic for a party to define which members are allowed to participate? Is it democratic to only allow those into the club who embrace each and every decision while blocking others who may have a different point of view from being able to participate in the process?
In essence, the Democratic Party is silencing dissent and in so doing has become disturbingly fascist in tone. It appears they’ve hung out a sign that reads: “No Democrats who embrace democratic values need apply.”
Hi everyone, home from work all prowls completed! What a long day, no sleep last night
I don’t know why but everyday in the afternoon, I cannot seem to post here, don’t know what the problem is. And I could not send the prowls from work, even using my home email. Anyway, I’m done now. Whew!
Got the 4 daily prowls done for today and instead of calling the DNC I am sending out a letter everyday this week. I’m not really good on the phone.
I think that McCain has been whooping No Names A** for the last couple of weeks. Warms ones heart doesn’t it?

Red State should have been capitalized in my post and it referred to a website (a republican website) that was referred to in the post I replied to. It laid out how Hillary could win the nomination at the convention and what repubs needed to do to avoid this.
Dear Pumas,
The following is the letter I sent the DNC regarding why my account was deactivated and I am no longer allowed to blog.
My account was deactivated and I was not told why. Please advise. I find it scary and sad; I also find it ridulous in the extreme that you are writing me telling me to be scared of Cheney Jr. when Barack Obama makes Cheney and Bush look like my best friends. The DNC is making mistakes such that good Democrats will be forced to vote Republican and then go Independent. The fact that your OFFICE is now part of Obamaland is chillingly heartstoppingly par for the course. WAKE up, because there will be no Democratic Unity, and instead there will be a mass exodus of Democratics united with Republicans. WAKE UP, apologize, make it right, and beg Mrs. Clinton’s forgiveness and ask her if she would be willing to be the Democratic nominated candidate for President in 2008. Exit stage left Obama, Nancy, Howard, Harry, etc., etc.
Hello there:
I’m trying to send my e-mails to SD, but it keeps telling me to enter a valid e-mail…
any ideas?

Alright, I’ll try that…and if all else fails I can use another one of my e-mail addresses lord knows I have about five e-mail addresses…
Thanks. Well Mauro (correct name ? – Fox News), at least let everyone know that Hillary will be put on the ballot, etc. He was pretty positive I thought.
I know that everyone doesn’t want her to be campaigning for BO, but strategically she may be doing this to reach out to you. Can you think of a better way?
All this stuff swirling around Obama – Birth Certificates , lies, cheating, intimidation. The(DNC) has presented us with a fraud (Obama) and it is quickly becoming a house of cards in quick sand (growl, hiss, swipe). Get the popcorn Pumas the rest of this show is probably going to be good.
Sheila7, I agree with you, he is for Obama. I kept trying to get that posted and was having problems each time and my response somehow ran into his. Sorry if it was taken wrong. Yes he definitally states that he wants us to elect Obama.
*gets pop corn, pocky, and root beer out* LET THE SHOW START!

# 420 Great Video – loved it.
Just finished prowls . . . and my usual newspaper comments.
Are the Super Delegates waking up to being swindled? Are they seeing how weak their candidate is? McCain want to keep Obama just where he is now. If Hillary steps in, they know – they lose. It’s confusing when both sides want a loser as a DP candidate.

Darn! <> I didn’t get one. Guess I’ll have to send another one… or 2… tomorrow.
The DNC just don’t want people who have a different view point then what they have. Or who go against their Jester so they have started to block other people’s thoughts and ideas….
sad isn’t it when we can’t speak our minds to those who are suppose to listen to us….what has happened to this world?

do we have a radio show tonight?

For the radio show tonight
Written by Taylor Marsh, saw it on Huffington Post. Sorry, it is a little long:
As one of the most ardent HRC supporters, which continues forward, though I now back Obama, all this hand wringing by former HRC supporters now turned anti Obama zealots, people who can’t move on with grace, has now succeeded in nothing, except getting them a very bad name, while making themselves politically toxic, even to Hillary.
That these same people won’t listen to reason isn’t because it hasn’t been offered and given in good faith. All that’s needed for a new energy burst is a phrase or video to send them screaming outrage again. The denial they court is too seductive in an echo chamber that promises hope, but only delivers deceit by offering claims of something that will not come. Their political naiveté, turned to desperation, now brings only embarrassment since they’re putting their own petty personal grievances before everything else, even Senator Clinton, while posturing that their anti-Obama zealotry is something it’s not, which is obvious to see. They have also managed to take their cause and turn it into something that gets snorts of disrespect that resembles disgust from most Democrats, while Republicans smack their chops with anticipation, using them whenever the chance arises, which is whenever they’re asked.
The other thing that’s happened is that most of these rogue HRC supporters have become what they hated most. They are as bad or worse as the Obama supporters during the primaries who bombarded sites, especially this one, comment sections, hitting bloggers with vitriol and hate screed emails, including posts written by the unhinged comprised of such nonsensical gibberish that the vast majority of Democrats trying to turn the Republicans out have come to disrespect them completely.
Effectiveness dies when no one is listening and instead, what once might have been a mission has been made into a punch line or worse. A traffic driver at a time when summertime laziness slows everything down and people simply take advantage of the latest political train wreck in a season that stars Britney, Paris, and McCain campaign ads channeling Charlton Heston as Moses.

#464 diva2 I really think it’s too late, I have a feeling that during the campaign with Clinton and his passport info was breached and they blamed Hillary, that it was Obama’s thugs that were doing this to scrub anything damaging. IMO.
On Fox, Ballantine, the big fat black commentator, is ticking me off. He said Big Dawg is tarnishing his image by not embracing Obambi. Excuse me, after what he did to the Clintons, I would hate them forever.
Got to run, getting ready for Ed Hale, Sinclair & Manning!
Just went to the website, says it starts at 9pm EST. It started at 8pm last time.:(
Hello all,
You know the Dem Convention is getting closer because yahoo has started up its pro-Obama spin again (see “article” below). I know there are many different polls and that BO and McCain are in a dead heat (and that McCain leads in some), but I’m guessing that BO’s propaganda machine will be working overtime to try to create the image that he is walking into the convention with great numbers, so that people begin to doubt their gut feeling’s against him. We all know BO’s numbers are pretty bad (if compared to John Kerry’s four years ago, for example).
So, what do we do? Should we just ignore the media onslaught that we know is coming? Best, Lara08

I don’t know. Maybe that’s all we need to say about that.

#518 Jeremy
Yes, that’s what I mean. I haven’t forgotten what yahoo and other media outlets did to HC during the last stages of the Dem primaries and their effort to emphasize BO’s marginal lead in that one poll seems like an attempt to create positive spin for him. I guess the best we can do is hope that people have smartened up. Thanks.
#512 Lara08
I think the McCain people will not let precious to get ahead of them too far.
With the convention being so close now,I believe we need to totally focus on the delegates and supers, making sure they are well informed, and to make sure we have the 300 signatures to put Hillary on the ballot in Denver.
So far, I would love for Larry’s allegations to be provable -
#522 Lara08–Your welcome.
“Smartened up” with eyes more clear and ears actually looking for meaning behind all the words.

O.K., did my prowl for the day. Be back later. Best, Lara08
Good evening PUMAs.
I completed the growls todays and have just a few comments.
In an earlier post (can’t find it right now), someone suggested that we all get the free MoveOn obama stickers to deface. I think that’s a really good idea. We use their own money against them.
I noticed the bogus polls are starting as well. We have keep doing what we have been; and, let the media know we’re not buying their crap anymore….neither is 53% of the people.
#526 Pookie
What happened…was he talking to Pelosi or what?
#523 I read your e-mail. Yes, we should concentrate on writing superdelegates. Bye now.

*********Press Release
F.Y.I. — Here’s something different. TheCityEdition.com has just published an “Election ‘08 Rogues Gallery of American Journalism”, a Who’s Who of bad boys and bad girls at the top (and bottom) of the
media food chain.
The gallery features mug shots and cheap shots from some of the country’s top newscasters, along with a series of thumbnail sketches that suggest evidence of a conspiracy to sabotage Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
According to the Gallery introduction, “The journalists helped to perpetrate a fraud, betraying the public trust and depriving the nation of one of its most competent leaders since F.D.R. Here’s a list of some you can thank for keeping her name off the November ballot.”
Not surprisingly, NBC/MSNBC dominates the list of Rogues Gallery inductees. Chris Matthews and David Shuster are cited for making controversial, at times misogynist remarks about Clinton. (Matthews
referred to her as a “she-devil”.) Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams is accused of faking a “spiritual epiphany” in his coverage of the Obama campaign on the eve before the New Hampshire primary. During
the same broadcast, reporter Andrea Mitchell claimed that Clinton’s campaign was collapsing. She repeated the allegation on the eve of several subsequent primaries. Yet Clinton won New Hampshire by three
points and went on to compete in all the subsequent contests, winning big on Super Tuesday and carrying 9 of the last 13 primaries.
Other networks honored with inclusion in the gallery are CBS (Katie Couric, Steve Kroft), ABC (Jake Tapper, Barbara Walters and the other ladies of The View) CNN (Anderson Cooper, Jack Cafferty, John King and
Jessica Yellin) and Fox (Bill O’Reilly and Major Garrett). Print reporters represented are the New York Times editorial board, Time Magazine’s Mark Halperin, and Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift and Joe Klein. According to the website, Klein remarked to CNN’s Campbell Brown last spring that the only way Clinton would drop out of the race would be if someone “exploded an IED under her car”.
Even Ms. Magazine failed the fair and balanced test,
TheCityEdition.com alleges. The feminist publication did not a run a single story about Clinton’s historic candidacy for president, although it did find room for two articles by Donna Brazile, the Democratic Party official accused of manipulating the primary schedule
to deprive Clinton of delegates in Florida and Michigan.

TheCityEdition.com is based in San Francisco. In April, it launched a public pressure campaign to get the Senate Commerce Committee to investigate major broadcast and print media outlets for violations of

Poll finds few state voters for Obama
By RANDY KREHBIEL World Staff Writer
8/3/2008
Last Modified: 8/3/2008 3:51 AM
Oklahomans may not be excited about this year’s presidential campaign, but most of them know who they’re going to vote for.
And it’s not Barack Obama.
The latest Oklahoma Poll, a statewide survey of 750 likely voters conducted July 19-23, found little support — and some outright hostility — for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.
Republican John McCain, meanwhile, attracted broad, if sometimes tepid, support to lead Obama by 32 percentage points, 56 percent to 24 percent.
Seventy-one percent said they are firm in their decisions.
“Oklahomans have their minds made up and they aren’t going to change come hell or high water, no matter what,” said poll consultant Al Soltow, vice president for research at the University of Tulsa.
A trend, noted in national polls, of a substantial core of dedicated supporters for Obama is not evident in the Oklahoma Poll.
“The enthusiasm that Obama has generated in other parts of the country is certainly not evident here,” Soltow said.
In fact, enthusiasm for the campaign in general seems to be quite low.
Overall, 38 percent of those surveyed said they were more enthusiastic than usual about
this year’s elections. About 32 percent said this year’s elections will make an important difference in the lives of themselves and their families.
Only those describing themselves as liberals indicated much excitement about this year’s elections.
“That goes a long way to explaining the low turnout in the primary,” Soltow said, referring to elections last week in which fewer than 20 percent of Oklahoma’s registered voters participated.
“I would rather have had somebody different than John McCain on the Republican side, but I can’t even believe who the Democrats picked,” said poll respondent Billy Garrison, a registered Democrat who often votes Republican.
“I know our country will be in bad shape if Barack Obama is elected president,” said Garrison of Tulsa.

I think the “silent majority” is starting to speak out and the opinion is being taken seriously.
LOL! That’s right Dances!
Danceswithpumas and goandersen,
thank you! That is so nice of you. I have been so worried because I haven’t been able to reach any of my room mates and I don’t know how I will get from the airport to the college…I have two weeks to figure it out…I hope one of my room mates tell me.

Goandersen,
Thank you! that helps a lot so I just take the airport shuttle to get to the college. That’s great information for me to know! I hope I am able to find away or get some kind of bus service to use to get food, and other small shopping done when I get there.

Those articles full of obama media hype make me send out more emails to the superdelegates. I call as much as possible as well.
FLYERS, FLYERS, FLYERS … let’s start hitting the college campuses as the students are returning to school.
Well, have to run. Do not forget:
Hillary Clinton will be personally handed the results of the IOwnMyVote platform survey, along with a complete list of all of us who have completed the survey. This platform effort is deeply important to Hillary. Hillary is not the only key person who will personally receive a copy. Charlie Rangel and Sheila Jackson Lee will also receive copies, delivered directly into their hands. They will all lobby the Platform Committee on our behalf.

TRISH – Thanks for contacting the DNC about the blog issue. You’re great about teasing apart fact from fiction from rumor from assumption from…… One of MANY things I adore, respect and appreciate about you.
DANCES – Is there any way to get a black and white version of the flier you most recently designed? I’ve discovered that having that one printed (even self serve at Kinkos) is getting expensive because it’s a color photo. I realize that color is more striking than black and white, so if there was something designed that was black and white, I think it would need to be high contrast. Color is 50 cents for one side, whereas black and white photo is 10 cents. But, I really love that flier. Let me know. Thanks.
Hey Puma’s it is almost 9ET watch Glenn Beck on CNNH he starts out talking about ‘nancy’
#555 SunnyPA
Right. I have UCSF and SF State near me.
I thought this was kind of interesting;
Man Heckles Obama About Pledge Of Allegiance;
BEREA, Ohio — A man who wore press credentials and took photographs from a platform interrupted Barack Obama’s town-hall meeting in Berea Tuesday.
The man shouted complaints that the Democratic presidential candidate had not called for the audience to say the Pledge of Allegiance.
Obama invited the heckler to lead the audience in the pledge, which he did. Attendees at the gathering at Baldwin Wallace College in suburban Cleveland rose to their feet and recited the pledge.
Campaign officials said they did not know who the man was. They made no effort to remove him and he continued taking photographs throughout Obama’s appearance.
Speaking with reporters afterward, he identified himself only as “John Q. Public.” He declined to say which news organization he represented.

Thanks, goandersen this has helped me out a lot by just talking to you and Dances.
See, I decided that I would do the program after walking a mile back from a 9 am class in -20 degree weather and deciding that I would go to csun this year. I was going to wait for my masters degree to do this but after being in the cold winter weather I decided (on top of other things) that I would go to csun this year.
Oh, one more thing…
For anyone going out to buy the anti-obama books (or any book)… look for online coupons. Borders has one for 40% off that expires today…but there is always a new one.
In fact, I’m on my way to Borders now to use mine… any recommendations?

LITTLE EXCHANGE AT MY LOCAL DNC STOREFRONT:
Just noticed there’s a Democratic office in my little town. Saw it cause the windows are platered with Obama signs. (ugh)
I knew I shouldn’t do this, but couldn’t resist. I was on my way home from Kinkos having more fliers printed. Before I knew it, my car had pulled into the parking space right in front of the storefront and my feet were walking in (fliers in hand).
I encountered a young man sitting behind the desk. He smiled as I walked in.
I said I was a Democrat and wanted to know if they were working to make sure Hillary Clinton’s name got placed in nomination.
He said, (AND I QUOTE) “No, we’re not involved with any of the VP stuff.”
I said, “No, I’m not talking about VP. I want to know if all of you in this office are putting forth any efforts to ensure that Clinton’s name is placed in nomination at the convention at the end of this month.”
He said, (AND I QUOTE): “We’re just working for Democratic candidates.”
!!!????***
I said: “The last I checked, Clinton was a Democrat….I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m asking.”
He said, looking a bit shy and embarressed and uninformed: “I’m sorry. Maybe I’m not understanding what you’re asking.”
I said, “No I don’t think you do and I can’t stand here and explain it to you, but here, take this and perhaps you might want to do a bit more homework regarding how conventions work as well as what our options are as Democrats.”
sheesh

Mega Kudos to Katiebird for catching this on FOX this morning. Diane Mantouvalos sent this clip through the JSND network this afternoon of Gary Mauro, former head of Hillary’s campaign in Texas. He’s saying it’s not over until he gets a chance to vote for Hillary for nomination. This just proves how viral the movement is. We had no idea this was coming. As far as I know, Mauro did this without any prompting from us.
Check it out. This is Quicktime (for a change) but we’ll see if we can get a Youtube later.

No problems! You all are going to hear me either complain, or tell you great stories of what has happened, who I meet and what is going on. I’m sure I will be fine I’ve already gone through 3 years of college as it is…it will just be a new place where I will have to adjust. I’m certain I can do it ^_^

#505 KarlaforHillary~~~That letter quite accurately reflects the genral attitude of almost every person I’ve talked with about Obama, PUMA, etc. I am so sick of people I like and respect telling me” Geez, Ashleigh, I thought you were more intelligent than that. Aren’t you a democrat? Aren’t you going to support and vote for the Party’s candidate? Then they give me this look like I’m a leper or something and most have been real chilly toward me ever since. Today, a college law professor I do landscaping for, asked me if I would rather vote for McCain or Obama. I replied that I’d rather face 4 years of McCain than 8 years of Obama. He said he thought that was ridiculous. And I am most definitely NOT used to being talked to or treated in such a way.
It’s one thing to send letters or covertly place posters where somebody may or may not read them, but when it comes to talking face to face with people who think everything I say is just media spin or radical lack of acceptance of the ‘way things are’….well, I’m feeling really sad and depressed tonight. 100% of them have said they don’t believe Hillary will be nominated, and say her time has come and gone and that the people in authority within the Party and the electoral process are so entrenched and well-off they couldn’t care less what we think or do.
I’m so sick of encountering this attitude.
BillieJo, I believe you have to know someone. I am only getting them through people very close to the campaign, that I met and worked with, they came here from Hillary herself to help with Lake County, Gary in particular. It was a very close race, and we were having problems getting our credentials, and having problems with obots etc. These people have known the Clintons for years.

I am going to surround myself with white light. I don’t want their bad Ju Ju.
I’ve been a busy PUMA today, prowling to the PaganPower blogsite, where two articles are listed from the NY Times that are reporting the cracks (could it be 18 million?) in Obama’s facade. This motivated me to contact the SD in the states that Clinton won, particularly those who are/were designated as her delegates on ClintonDems.com. I also emailed the uncommitted delegates. The letter I sent is below, please feel free to amend and send to SD or pledged delegates that you think might need a nudge in the right direction. Happy prowling!!
“Please take the time to read these two articles from the NY Times and evaluate who has the best chance of beating McCain in November:
John Harwood discusses McCain following the strategy of Senator Clinton, and his success- he is staying in the Presidential race with Senator Obama in a virtual tie. How is this possible in this Year of the Democrat?
http://www.nytimes.McCainTakingPageOutOfClintonPlaybook
David Brooks, in an editorial titled “Where’s the landslide?” discusses Senator Obama’s fading and descending star, and what is responsible for this phenomenon.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/05/BrooksWhere’sTheLandslide
I have been a democratic voter for 30+ years, and like many other Clinton supporters when I examine my options, I cannot vote for Senator Obama. I have no confidence in knowing where he stands on the issues, he is inexperienced and, in my opinion, dangerous. (He reminds me a lot of our current President in this regard.) Therefore, Senator Clinton is the wisest and best candidate to lead us into a Democratic victory in the fall. Please take the time, also, to reflect on the fact that Hillary Clinton won your state by a strong majority, and I think you will come to an affirmative conclusion about who you should support,- as a Representative of the voters of your state and the country- at the DNC in Denver. Thank you for your consideration and attention to this matter. “

Mountain Song – I hear every word you’re saying. I live in heavy Obama territory and usually just don’t bother engaging people because I know they are as entrenched as I am. I just focus my energies on the SD’s and other actions. But, it’s definitely a drag. It’s kind of like being in the closet, though people do know where I stand. I just don’t go out of my way to have conversations about it because I need to live next door to them, or have some friends left when this is all over, etc. Hang in there, girl. Remember, you can always come over hear and have a conversation and not get treated like you’re on another planet.

Hey PUMAs don’t let them get you down just because they either supported Obama in the first place and don’t care what happens to other candidates as long as they go away, or they once supported Hillary and don’t realize there is still some hope for her in Denver. Granted not a lot of hope that delegates will step up to the plate for her and put their careers on the line, but hopefully we underestimate them in the next three weeks or so.
I get the same bs at UC Berkeley were I work. Even the people that voted for Hillary with Ph. D.s don’t realize anything can be done. Just, ah shucks…dang it. And put on their goose-stepping suits. They think I am really out there in internet voodoo land of make believe. I even send them some of our links, videos and they shake their heads. Maybe some people have more of a problem of questioning authority or the media. If everyone says it’s so, it must be so. Obama has really done a job of marketing himself and they have bought the farm, hook line and sinker. (I love mixing metaphors because I am a philosopher not an English major…hehe)
Chin up PUMAs, don’t listen to the kool-aid drinkers no matter what degree they hold. We are fighting for Hillary not for an illusion.
Blue Blue Gal,
I was just thinking about going to their webpage to see what is close by. But thanks for helping me. All of you are so nice!
I got home and did the email prowls. I couldn’t resist in rewriting the email to fit my own personality. I wrote the following:
Dear Super Delegate,
As a Democratic voter and member of Puma PAC, People United Means Action (www.pumapac.org), I will take great measures to reject the selection of Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee. I have voted faithfully for Democratic candidates in the past, but I cannot in good conscious vote for a Democratic candidate if Senator Obama is my candidate choice. The short answer is because he represents everything that is against democracy (small d).
Furthermore, I will be looking very closely at all Democratic candidates running for offices across this great country in upcoming elections (for years to come) and will actively campaign against any candidates that support the corrupt measures I’ve witnessed in this election season in ignoring the voice of the people.
If you want to know the basis for why I use the word “corrupt” — and why I feel so strongly that Senator Obama is not an appropriate candidate for this party (or this country), then the reasons can be easily summed up in the information contained in this article link below titled “October Surprise” — which should be required reading for all. The information contained in this article is only a very miniscule sample of many problems I find in Senator Obama’s character.
http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/OctoberSurprise.html
To say that Barack Obama is simply the weaker of the two final candidates for nomination is a major understatement. And why there would be such a strong resistance to having Senator Clinton as a viable candidate in nomination at the convention is beyond comprehension. I can only conclude that forces such as bribery, or other selfish goals are at play here since Senator Clinton is the ONLY candidate that makes sense on every level. In case you haven’t seen the news flash — she DID WIN THE POPULAR VOTE.
For anyone who attempts to block a fair democratic process at the convention — I would like to ask these questions: What makes any of these people feel that their judgement is more important than 18 million voter voices? What makes you feel that any attempts to override the people’s voice (and offering any semblance of an unfair democratic process) will go unnoticed and without consequences? And if you do not stand up for democracy — who will?
PLEASE do your job and support Senator Clinton for nomination in Denver.
Sincerely,
XXXXX
Puma PAC democrat – California
Doing some reading on the ebay discussion boards. Found this post quite interesting.
Barack Obama is not legally a U.S. natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the
time of his birth, which falls between December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986. Presidential office
requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. citizen parents. US Law very clearly
stipulates: ‘If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have
resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.
Barack Obama’s father was not a U.S. citizen and Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was
born, which means though she had been a U.S. citizen for 10 years, (or citizen perhaps because
of Hawaii being a territory) the mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years ‘{prior to’
Barack Obama’s birth, but after age 16. It doesn’t matter after. In essence, she was not old enough
to qualify her son for automatic U.S. citizenship. At most, there were only 2 years elapsed since his
mother turned 16 at the time of Barack Obama’s birth when she was 18 in Hawaii. His mother would
have needed to have been 16+5 = 21 years old, at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have
been a natural-born citizen. As aforementioned, she was a young college student at the time and
was not. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at that time his mother would have needed to have
waited to have him as the only U.S. citizen parent. Obama instead should have been naturalized,
but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office.
Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President. Though Barack Obama was sent
back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other info does not matter because his mother is the one who
needed to have been a U.S. citizen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those
years being after age 16. Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the country for some
time to protect any citizenship he would have had, rather than living in Indonesia. Now you can see
why Obama’s aides stopped his speech about how we technically have more than 50 states,
because it would have led to this discovery. This is very clear cut and a blaring violation of U.S.
election law. I think the Gov. of California would be very interested in knowing this if Obama were
elected President without being a natural-born U.S. citizen, and it would set precedence.
APA … American Planning Association (whatever that is).

Subject: Re: Senator Clinton in Nomination
The NY Daily News is reporting that Senator Clinton will NOT file the paperwork necessary to place her name in nomination at the Democratic National Convention later this month in Denver, CO.
Despite pleas from supporters and petition and email drives to get delegates and supers to retain or change their assumed votes, unless Clinton formally files, this effort will be in vain:
A source close to the New York senator confirmed she won’t file a formal request to the convention asking to be nominated along with Barack Obama, who eked out the victory in their fierce primary slugfest.
“She is not going to submit the signed request,” the insider told the Daily News. “People are still circulating petitions on her behalf, but this is a done deal.”
Party rules stipulate that Clinton must ask in writing to be nominated herself and also submit a petition signed by 300 to 600 delegates. Without her signed request, petitions of support are meaningless.
Clinton is also assumed to release her delegates when she speaks at the convention on August 26th, however delegates can still vote for whomever they wish.
This move will take any potential embarrassment to the party or to Senators Obama and Clinton out of the mix. Clinton could be embarrassed by a roll call vote that shows she has less delegates than she had at the end of the primary as some delegates have already signaled their intention to vote Obama.

Oh man that was a great show tonight,
DWP – this was what I wrote to another PUMA who sent me this woman’s response, which was verbatim what you posted:
I think Senator Clinton would be more mortified by the way HER delegate has treated a voter who is standing up for Democracy.
I would also recommend that the lovely, polite delegate refrain from believing ANYTHING the MSM releases.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to know who to trust, so I don’t believe ANYTHING unless it comes from Senator Clinton’s mouth…….
and it does in this video. Feel free to forward to her for her persual. My guess is she’ll claim it’s a look-a-like.

As slyt2 said, Larry has not changed his story. He went over pretty much the whole thing tonight. Only thing is, Ed Hale had invited producers from CNN and Fox to listen in and they did. Let’s hope that goes somewhere
Logging in to say HELLO! Sorry I can not stay for long. I will read some of your blogs, then I have to sign off. It saddens me that I do not have the time to stay, but I pray your numbers are growing (PUMA members).
See you in Denver!
Can any of you Puma poll wizards explain to me how the AOL straw poll consistently has McCain ahead by nearly 2-1 each week. There are nearly 300,000 votes cast. Only one vote per computer ( I tried to vote again with my husband’s e-mail and couldn’t).
Well, everyone this Rurouni (wondering Samurai) PUMA is going to call it a night. I have to get ready to go to bed so I can get up to go to work. Everyone have a good night! ^_~
#675 doria,
I think the AOL poll shows how Obama is really doing. The major pollsters are manipulating the results to make Obama look viable when he really isn’t. If you ever checked it when Hillary was still in the race, she blew both Obama and McCain away every week.
I don’t think McCain will hammer Obama until after the convention. McCain doesn’t want to go against Hillary.

I agree. The Republicans never wanted to go against Hillary. They helped select Obama in the red states.

Or he’s waiting for the official candidate.
I agree antifish!!
You have to admit that McCain would rather have Obama than Hillary Dances!!

If you are still around…
I have observed that the way these so called “journalists or spokesperson” put out disinformation is always to quote from an unnamed person or from an unverifiable source, therefore please watch out for it.
I am not aware Hillary has authorized anyone to speak for her at this point.
On a different note, I find it a little peculiar that Lanny Davis would push so hard for Hillary to be the VP.
went to Eds site and heard the show one thing that I learned was that there has been 3 unexplained deaths at Obamas church.Couldn’t here the show but read the chats.If this is true,whats going on there?
I don’t understand that either Your northern neighbor!! Why would Lanny push for that??? I don’t get it!!

This is the response to those folks. Seanator Clinton’s own words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh0gEf7WhZ0
I think Lanny pushed for Senator Clinton as VP because he knows Obama is, and has been, slipping in the polls,
and Senator Clinton gives him the best chance of winning.

Dear Andy –
I appreciate your respectful reply — but I will also have to respectfully disagree. I have a mind, I’ve done my homework. And if you truly read the information in the link I sent, then you will see many errors in judgement not only for this candidate but for your efforts to promote him as my only option. I do have choices and I plan to exercise that right to a choice. The grandest of all goals would not be to “move forward” (as you’ve expressed it) — but rather to move back to the framework of our founding fathers and to protect this fragile democracy that Senator Obama threatens. What could be more threatening to democracy than to deny the people a choice at the convention and only offer ONE candidate. History has proven that candidates with far less votes and delegates from the primaries were still offered a nomination at the convention.
Your response to me tells me volumes. It tells me that not only will you be an official that cannot be trusted (to the voters of the future) to uphold the democratic principles of this country, but that you are also afraid to have a fair process. As Thomas Jefferson once warned, all it takes for tyranny to take control is for men of good conscious to remain silent. Either you are a man of good conscious that chooses to remain silent, or you are not a man of good conscious (plain and simple). I fear the latter is the case rather than the former.
I choose to move back and regain this democracy, if moving forward means to accept tyranny.
I choose McCain if Senator Obama is my only choice at the Democratic Convention. Good luck in any upcoming elections you may have as well Andy.
Sincerely,
PUMA Democrat

Top Introduction Post over at Taylor Marsh. Whoa!

Surprised that John McCain urges his wife to be a Buffalo Chip gal?
Guest post by Christina Celdano
Don’t be.
It’s striking (and telling) that PUMAs give McCain yet ANOTHER pass for his latest “misspeak”.. No really. They do. From the PUMAS over at Hillary Clinton Forum:
This will just strengthen the women support for McCain. Before we know, McCain will lead BO in women voters.
Those pigs never learn a lesson.
Weird because I thought that volunteering your wife to compete in a contest that becomes some kind of topless sex dance would LOSE women votes- not GAIN you women votes. But when you’re stuck in delusion, you’re stuck in delusion.
Yes, Sturgis, a wonderful place full of sexual provocateur, gluttony, big fake breasts, and John McCain avowing, “drill here, drill now!” Yes Sturgis, a wonderful place to bring your wife for a festive day of ogling women and wet t-shirt contests.
According to an email Ben Smith received:
“Miss Buffalo Chip has ‘been known to feature topless women’ in the same way that Guns and Ammo magazine has been known to feature firearms.” Indeed, an ESPN.com columnist describes it as “occasionally bottomless.”
And as Taylor already posted today, John McCain thinks that with a little luck Cindy could be the next Buffalo Chip gal!
What luck? You think your wife needs LUCK to beat some scantily clad woman in a leather bikini? What a compliment Johnny.
It shouldn’t be surprising that John McCain would go roll around in SMUT at the expense of women with campaign dollars:
*********************************************
(I left this part out. If you want to read the 10 reasons, go to the source)
*********************************************
So, don’t even pretend like this is some revelation that John McCain would take pleasure in the denigration of women, but please, by all means express your indignation.
But none of that matters! Obama said, “claws come out!”
oops let me try that again… since most of his email was missing due to carrot marks:

“Factually Correct, Not
Politically Correct”
AMERICA’S #1 POLITICAL
BLOG ON THE 2008 CAMPAIGN
Right-wing author embarrass Sean Hannity with Obama errors
Rupture on the right; why the right wing rift in Obamaland?
Andy Martin comments on the copycat right-wing writers who have been using his research to publish books on Barack Obama
Competing authors, who track his research and commentary, though not always accurately, vindicate Andy’s research and conclusions
Is David Freddoso a joke, or what?
Sean Hannity should screen his authors better
(NEW YORK)(August 6, 2008) First, a little mameh-loshen. Let me be honest. Authors compete, just like car dealers, athletes and-egads-politicians. So when I heard two right-wing writers were planning books on Barack Obama after my own book was already announced, I was curious to see if they would come up with something new. Had I missed something? Did my own loyal readers and contributors overlooked some crucial facts or episode?
My second question, for which I do not have the answer, is why the rupture on the right? Four years ago, John O’Neill and Jerome Corsi “wrote” a book together, “Unfit for Command,” an attack on John Kerry. Four years later, O’Neil and Corsi are no longer a twosome, and O’Neil is promoting a book by right-wing wannabe David Freddoso. There’s a rift there, but who knows why?
Third, it is no secret I am a Republican. But it is also equally clear that when I write my column, ContrarianCommentary.com, I do not write as a partisan. I attempt to be scrupulously accurate. I cover Democrats as well as Republicans, and I cover all of them fairly. My columns over the past four years about Barack Obama have achieved great credibility and notoriety precisely because they were accurate. My opinions may be adversarial, but my research is not.
And so, Monday evening, August 4th I was watching when one of my competitors, the hapless Mr. Freddoso, appeared on the Hannity and Colmes program (yes, I watch the competition; it’s mortification of the flesh). Hannity introduced Freddoso with great fanfare, as the author of a new expose on Obama. The only thing Freddoso exposed was his own incompetence.
The selling point to my book, Obama: The Man Behind the Mask, is that I write with forty years of experience in Chicago and Illinois politics. I have seen the sewers of the Daley Machine, and I have watched Obama’s swift boat sail happily in Daley’s political septic tank.
You can imagine my shock when Hannity/Freddoso led off their interview by falsely attributing the quotation “Don’t Make No Waves-Don’t Back No Losers” to Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass. Wrong. The “Don’t Make No Waves” comment came from Professor Milton Rakove’s book: http://www.popula.com/st/no_392/2609990.htm; http://www.lib.niu.edu/1980/ii800122.html
Freddoso obviously parachuted into Chicago, briefly, checked a few clip files, and declared himself an author. It’s embarrassing when you make the kind of blunder Freddoso did on Mr. Hannity’s program. If Freddoso had done even minimal research he would have known his claims about John Kass were laughably wrong.
“Dr. Corsi” is just as insecure, and possibly as insincere, as Freddoso. Corsi bragged that he had over 700 footnotes in his book. Was he writing a book for ordinary voters to read, or a high school term paper? You don’t have to call yourself “Doctor” (PhD.) to know that footnotes are part of scholarly writing or, at their most primitive, high school term papers. You use footnotes to establish trust, because either your high school teacher, or college professor, remains to be convinced of your scholarship.
But when you are writing a popular book-in my case a basic handbook for the anti-Obama movement-you don’t need to use footnotes to establish your credibility. You have cred before you start. Or you don’t. My credibility was already recognized, by friend and foe alike. I didn’t need to prove my experience and knowledge in writing my book.
Now, I am not saying Corsi did anything wrong. But when my own mother saw him on TV, Corsi was using the images and language of my book, as his own. Corsi, of course, has been charged with political plagiarism in the past. So where do we end up?
My competing authors did not find anything new. There is nothing in their books that either is not in mine or was not available to me.
Freddoso probably came to Chicago on a day trip. He didn’t do much research. While Corsi claims to have been “researching” his book for two years, no one ever heard of his valiant efforts until he started using my words and images (yes, my mother watches Fox News on occasion; she started watching Hannity & Colmes when I was an occasional guest on that program in its early years).
The bottom line: over the past four years I have meticulously documented all of Obama’s fallacies and failures, his fantasies and fabrications. I did the original research, and led the way through the unknown forest, to Obamaland. I am flattered that not one but two copycat authors have now used my work as their template. The cut-and-past right wing hatchet men who have dropped in to grab a few dollars offer nothing new, and have an embarrassing lack of knowledge about Chicago politics.
Maybe “Dr. Corsi” and Mr. Freddoso should read another one of Professor Rakove’s books: “We don’t want nobody nobody sent.” http://www.chipublib.org/search/details/cn/518712?branch=62
Who sent Corsi and Freddoso? You be the judge.
If these men really want to learn about Chicago politics, and to understand Obama in his milieu, I would be happy to teach them.
In the meantime, readers of my book, Obama: The Man Behind The Mask, can rest assured my work is still the only gold standard and practical handbook on Barack Obama’s unfitness for the presidency. I’d be happy to have any of my readers comment.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I have decided to oppose Obama’s election and have become Executive Director of The Stop Obama Coalition, http://StopObamaCoalition.com. By default, I have become the national leader of the anti-Obama movement. I am not acting as either a Democrat or Republican. I have had no contact whatsoever with the McCain Campaign. I am acting as an independent American citizen who sincerely believes Obama is not the man we need in the Oval Office. We are going to run a very dynamic and aggressive campaign against Obama. I will continue to write my columns for ContrarianCommentary.com.

hillaryistheone @@@@@ In my opinion, and what worries me most, is that the vast majority of middle class citizens, do not take the time to get informed.
They do not dig deeper than the surface. Do not question authority. And in a lot of cases, just vote on issues they think will effect them personally without looking at the bigger picture. Having said that, it goes to the core of what we are ultimately trying to do here each and everday. And no matter what happens at the convention, our work in this movement is making a difference. And I am proud to be a part of it. We must keep working long after the election is over.
mzebest #619……..I think that is the best letter I have read so far.

Don’t worry about Lanny Davis, Pumas. Our girl is very smart. She knew BO would not choose her. But she is on the record as being interested…and Lanny started VoteBoth in order to give the party the best (only) chance of winning. It’s called CYA. One less thing the DNC can blame her for when it all comes crashing down.
KendalBlue -agreed – our preferred vision for this country does not include the kind of undemocratic hijacking shennanigans that we have all witnessed for the past year – or more? I’m exhausted from the emotion,- the ups and downs of the primaries, of seeing Hillary surge, only to have her torn to shreds the day after a major win by her, by a machine that had much more of a deliberate and well-thought out agenda than any of us could have imagined.
Every day I wondered if this was the day I could watch the news, or pick up a newspaper, or would I be assaulted with more of the people I thought I respected exclaiming their love for the “Chosen One”?
No one could understand my “over the top” emotional investment and I finally stopped talking about it because it led to disagreements and even more emotionally charged conversations that dampened my spirit, deadened my appetite and interferred with my sleep patterns.
I still fight on but wonder about the bigger vision and the true changes we can ultimately make in big picture terms.
I suppose I will remember in November, that this is the year we really hit bottom, and had mobilize ourselves in order to save ourselves. I just wish we could have elevated our bottom, and still wish for this, so that Hillaray can be in the White House in 09 and we don’t have to start from scratch.
I need the letter everyone is sending to the Super D’s. Something is going on with my email and I have lost all of my saved PUMA emails.
I have changed my password everyday for the last week and I still keep losing stuff. It’s getting very frustrating!!!!

4hillinca – just saw your post as i was about to shut down. here’s my take for what it’s worth: of course clinton could be embarassed since she is human. and, she is a super smart woman so, if she thinks she would be at risk for getting a small number of votes she could decide that, strategically, it makes sense to set things up to minimize risk of seeming to have lost even further ground. bottom line, she’s going to want to be increasing her power and that means positioning herself in all that she does in ways that won’t put that goal at risk.
so, yes, she could be embaressed because 1) she’s a human being, and/or 2) she determines it’s too risky re: calculation of how the votes could go.
that doesn’t mean i think she will get a pitifully small number of votes cause i have no idea what to expect. but i would imagine that behind the scenes she’s got a very good sense of how things are going to go down and she will make choices accordingly that are in her best interest in the short term and the long term.

I am with you, they’re pulling some stuff to stop Hillary’s supporters from demanding OPEN NOMINATION. Roll Call is not enough, she must have her name for OPEN NOMINATION. All of us MUST keep on bugging DNC until they have ear infection, WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND OPEN NOMINATION with Hillary’s name included in the nomination NO MORE NO LESS.
I love how we’re all so supportive of one another
It really does make a difference, I doubt *61’s followers would stand up for one of their own.
I’d like to share something I wrote this afternoon. I was bored and had a choice between writing something or cleaning something…so I wrote this lol, hope you like it
Despite his record breaking spending this primary season, Nobama is still trying to gain that which he hasn’t been able to buy…Clinton supporters. Are we asking for too much? Are our demands too much for him to afford? YES! But we’re not interested in the monetary value…he has to EARN our votes. Unfortunately (for him) he’ll never be able to win us over.
Several Democratic leaders claim Nobama is a strong candidate, that he has a great shot at winning the Presidency…I’m here to tell you that just like every word he utters, this too, is a lie. He’s not a strong opponent for McCain. Americans are livid, a vast majority of us honestly loathe the Republicans, this should be the year the Democrats take back the White House…but their PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE can’t get away from McCain in the polls. He’s hemorrhaging votes left and right, he can’t mention Senator Clinton without evoking an eruption of cheers and applause…at his own rallies! In other words, I think he has a bit of a likeability problem…and it’s going to cost him dearly.
Clinton supporters aren’t for sale, we never were. Hillary EARNED our respect, our love, our votes. She doesn’t see us as a stepping stone she must appease in order to achieve the ultimate goal. To her, we’re not cattle to be herded and sent of to the slaughterhouse once she’s “done with us.” Instead, she sees us for what we really are…Americans. INDIVIDUALS, with our own thoughts, dreams, and opinions. We have been exercising our freedom of speech, demanding fairness for the debacle caused by the DNC in the year that should have belonged to the Democrats. We are speaking out, and Hillary not only RESPECTS this, she EXPECTS it. We’re living in America, land of the free, where we can express ourselves without fear of being killed by those we disagree with (for the most part.) Hillary would NEVER tell us to fall in line and dash our dreams.
We are unique, and we’re not going to settle for less. We’ve been supporting the best possible choice and we’re not going to saddle up on the already decrepit pony that is unity. We’re taking this to Denver and we’re pushing forward to November, and we will be there when Hillary Rodham Clinton becomes the 44th President of the United States of America!
Not for sale, not for trade, NOT for NOBO!
This will make you laugh from bitterpoliticz:
http://camille424.wordpress.com/
G’night.
this is so hard because we’re all pressing for something that clinton may not, ultimately do or want. but, until she says so directly, i’m with everyone to keep working towards it. that said, i’m also preparing myself for the possibility that she knows far more than we and may reveal a choice at the convention (or just prior to it) that we may not like but that we must trust is one she’s made in the best interests of her political future.
this is so hard.
Got the next round of standard reply from Andy Tobias. He wrote the following:
Do you *really* prefer McCain? How can Hillary (and Al Gore and Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi and Teddy Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy and so many others)
be so wrong about this?
I speak to a lot of 2000 Nader voters — including some of the 97,488 from Florida — who claim they are completely at peace with their 2000 vote.
But can they really be? If they had voted for Gore, there would have been no war in Iraq, we’d lead the world in stem cell research, the Supreme Court would be skewed toward the moderate, progressive center, Roe v Wade would not be in jeopardy, FEMA would have been the same crack professional organization it had been, we would not have borrowed a trillion dollars from our kids to cut taxes on the mega-wealthy . . . and on and on.
Some voted for Nader because they were so angry he was excluded from the later debates. That’ll show THEM, they figured. But was it really worth the war
in Iraq and eight years of delay on global climate change?
Anyway, thanks for considering my point of view. I have absolutely no say in any of this. I was scrupulously neutral up until the time Hillary implored us all to support Barack. And have subsequently sent $2,300 to help pay down Hillary’s debt (the maximum the law allows). If Hillary wants to resume her campaign and call for a vote at the Convention — and there is ZERO indication that she does or will — then I would go back to being neutral.
Best wishes,
Andy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I responded with the following (and used quotes from his response to signal my talking points):
“Do you *really* prefer McCain?”
Yes. Absolutely. McCain is infinitely more qualified than Senator Obama.
“How can Hillary (and Al Gore and Howard Dean
and Nancy Pelosi and Teddy Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy and so many others) be so wrong about this?”
You don’t even want to go there. Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, and many others are on my list of officials that need to be voted out of their current positions for their role in this atrocity that they’ve put upon the American people (to further their own selfish ambitions). I do my homework. I’m well aware of Dean’s associations with George Seoros, who’s corrupt money fuels both Dean and Obama. I’m aware of Pelosi’s goal for her own selfish desires for power to push her personal agenda at the expense of what the American people truly long for.
“If they had voted for Gore, there would have been no
war in Iraq, we’d lead the world in stem cell research, the Supreme Court would be skewed toward the moderate, progressive center, Roe v Wade would not be
in jeopardy, FEMA would have been the same crack professional organization it had been, we would not have borrowed a trillion dollars from our kids to cut taxes on the mega-wealthy . . . and on and on.”
I will not be held hostage with threats of the Supreme Court of the war in Iraq. The truth is that Senator Obama has supported more of Bush’s agendas than McCain. He voted Yes on FISA along with supporting many of Bush’s initiatives. Senator Obama has taken the corruption demonstrated by Bush and expanded on it to a new and higher level. It is not McCain that offers a third term of Bush — but rather Obama is the third term Bush if not worse.
Yes — I am truly comfortable with my choice for McCain. OR — call me crazy — but you could still offer Senator Clinton as a nominee and choice. What are you really afraid of by this suggestion? Why do you fear a simple request for a mere nomination and fair vote? What is it about the democratic process that scares you?
LOL! Thanks… I just keep thinking that they keep trying to throw distractions… kind of like the Wizard of Oz in which they don’t want us to pay attention to the man behind the curtain.
So I keep bringing my response back to the original premise in the letters… of “What’s wrong with a fair process?” I’m trying to stay focused and to keep them from moving off target.
OK……I am going to ask again. Does anyone have a copy of the letter, or a letter that is being sent to Super Delegates?
No one could understand my “over the top” emotional investment and I finally stopped talking about it because it led to disagreements and even more emotionally charged conversations that dampened my spirit, deadened my appetite and interferred with my sleep patterns. @@@@@
I completely understand. I felt the same way. Almost afraid to listen to the news or pick up the paper in fear of feeling pushed down even further. Each time Hill would win a primary, the media and the superidiots would promptly come out and deflate my spirit. It is still hard to imagine the atrocious behavior that swept the nation. I was moved so deeply by witnessing this unfold and feeling that no one was hearing me. This has been extremely exhausting. And I haven’t really slept well since Janurary. Lost a BUNCH of weight, and feel forever changed by this process that pushed me to my knee’s. But being here each day, and making a difference keeps me strong. Thank God for Murphy and all the others here that gave us a place to land, heal, and rise up stronger than ever. The bigger picture is worth fighting for. And there is nowhere I would rather be right now than in this very important movement.
Strength in numbers will prevail !!
I guess I am invisible tonight. If anyone has a letter they would like to share, please send it to me at redraz9@hotmail.com.
Has Murphy been on tonight I send her a email of something a little interesting.
mzebest – great point. i think i’m going to incorporate the spirit of that in my last letter to the sd’s. it gets right to the heart of the matter, like, why is this question unreasonable? why is it perceived as a crazy notion? why has the idea of prospect of a fair process become so threatening? (of course, we know the answer: they know there’s enough support for clinton that the party will publically appear as split as it is in reality and that’s the last thing they want revealed in their drive to create this aura of unity.)
ok, now i’m off to bed. ‘night all.
IF the DNC has a little SENSE OF DECENCY left in their bones and believe in DEMOCRACY they MUST give what AMERICAN VOTERS are asking them to do. I’ve been calling them every day, AT LEAST three times a day. I’ve ruffled some feathers, but I don’t give a damn to be honest. I’ve had it with their antics, treating us voters like we’re nothing.
WE all MUST stand FIRM, this is a test of will; how strong, solid, unyielding we are PUMAs. When it comes to stubbornness, I am stubborn as hell and unyielding when I know I’m right. I am in it for the LONG HAUL until hell freezes over. If it take years, SO BE IT; been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. When you’re fighting for what’s right, fair, justice, it will never come easy. All kinds of obstacles will be thrown in your direction; literally trying to break you down.
STAY FOCUS PUMA FAMILY, WE’RE IN FOR ONE HELL OF A RIDE, BUT WHAT A RIDE! THIS COUNTRY IS WORTH IT! Our fight is not for us, its for future Americans; your children, granchildren; fighting back the powerful with millions of dollars laying at their feet while all we have is our number, WE THE PEOPLE and US CONSTITUTION we respect second only to the HOLY BIBLE.
You’re welcome… and I mean it… your words hit home for me too. We all make calls or write letters or both… but what makes this PAC so special is that it gives us the comfort to know that our voice is being heard because we know we are all doing it together as a chorus. We’re doing it in massive numbers. This alone gives us the confidence we need to express our indignation and the comfort to know we are being heard. It’s awesome.
I felt I was a part of history watching Clinton’s campaign unfold. Now I feel I’m a part of history in rectifying the resistance she had to endure. And that we’ve all endured through the course of our lives in some manner or other.
Hi Sunshinelvr…
thought of you the other day when Riverdaughter posted Obama’s astrological chart!
okay kendalblue
I didn’t know ..just trying to help
I tried to take the survey, but apparently I already had! lol
Zogby W released his poll numbers in XM Potus Radio this morning, as you know McCain 42% – *61 41%, but what truly stroked me is that he could no longer sustained his bias as we well have known; he said that *61’s numbers dropped because his base is leaving him and that the gap he had among women dissipated to a 4%, the early boomer’s numbers were very closed too. Zogby said that it is now obvious that O’s has lost support because there is consistency with this numbers in the other polls.
lol..why? did I resemble it?? lol
I got a few response back today saying they were undelivable–do I need to notify anyone of who they were?
Sunshinelvr @@@@@@ absolutely. no problem. Hope I wasn’t sounding bossy.. didn’t mean to.
undeliverable* ..hmm..I hate it when I mis-spell words!
I wondered if you would have agreed with the results.
no offense taken here..takes a bit of doing to hurt my feelings!
Whenever I feel like I am not getting anywhere … like when I think I am not making a difference I remember that I am in my boat moving forward so I must be making a difference
When we get bogged down in life:
Think of yourself in a motorboat. While you are in the boat it is moving forward just like your life is.
The future is ahead of you as you move forward. While in the boat ask yourself three questions:
1. What powers the boat? Answer: The motor.
2. What is behind the boat? Answer: The wake of the boat.
3. Are you moving forward if you are living in the wake? Answer: No.
You must stay in the boat letting the motor of your life move you forward. If you are living in the wake (the past) then you cannot have a future.
Moral of the story: Stay in your boat and move forward along with the boat and don’t look back. The wake does not have any power to get you to the future.
mzebest @@@@@ thank so much for your kind words. And yes, it is comforting to come here to be with these wonderful people that are fighting for our country. Standing up and SHOUTING that we are here, we are many, and we will not allow you to take away our voices. And we will not allow the atrocities of our democratic party to continue. Thanks again, and lets stay strong !!
Yes, take away Madison and Milwaukee and it’d be a landslide state Red. Youth in Madison, high % of blacks in Milwaukee. Not sure if we can change that, but we’re trying. Calling a lot on behalf.
Sunshinelvr…….good.thanks….gosh, I’m having a hard time posting tonight.
I went to the virtual platform site and started the survey. Is it saying there should be a draft? Anyway, I went to the dictionary to look up the word aclimation, thinking it has legal meaning, and when I went back to the survey, it said I already did it. Odd.
Just had on news dems supposed to give out details on how to claim tickets to Invesco probably tomorrow. On a first come first serve basis. Said if haven’t applied better do it tonight. Party members getting antsy cause they passing out all over country and some people have to make arrangements to get here. Gonna be a catch cause BO doesn’t want any empty seats. Only wants to give to people guaranteed to show up. Wonder what the catch is going to be?????? Colorado dem party asked for 10,000 of the 75,000.
Terry’s interview with Jason Furman… I just copied this from the site over there because it caught my eye..and it is hilarious! We just had a big write-up in the local paper on Jason Furman–son of the local Police Cheif-he was involved in a car chase because he was being arrested for alleged child porn! rflmao :0 Guess everyone needs to stay away from Jason Furman’s..they seem to be bad news.
thanks Grandpa Puma — checking now.
I signed the petition a few days ago..hmmm.
in the post about Jason..I left off the part about him being *61’s chief economic strategist.. that is why it was so funny..
anyway, All….. nighty night… hope you like my comment on that article about pumas
bmw60: Thank you for talking about the PUMA movement. I was a Democrat and changed to an Independent after I saw the fiasco of the Democratic primary and the way the MSM called for Hillary to drop out before all the votes were counted. Hillary was the only one who was concerned about the voters, you know, THE PEOPLE. The people who work, live and make this country the America that I grew up in. The media does not own this country (esp., Jack Cafferty and CNN… I have stopped watching the news there and only watch Lou Dobbs on that station because of him.)
I am voting country before party. Believe me and many others… maybe all don’t speak out, but you can believe they exist and WE AREN’T GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! The Sexism, the mysogeny, the outright lies by the MSM, the lack of pride by the DNC, the distortions of truth by pundits and the DNC, etc.
How can 18 million Hillary Supporters be wrong???”
Absolutely.
But I will say this: When writing to the superdelegates… I like to shy away from that phrase because for one — it might have been said so many times that the delegates might be rolling their eyes when they hear it. I prefer to make this about the democratic process and get them to not focus on Hillary in case they have an anti-Hillary bias. And on that thought — I’m confident of where I stand on Hillary but I don’t know where the delegates stand. I absolutely adore Hillary and for me — it IS ABOUT HILLARY. But when communicating to delegates — I don’t know what their bias might be so I want to make it about the democratic process. It’s kind of analogous to saying the civil rights movement is about Rosa Parks. I want these idiots to stay focused on preserving the democratic process regardless of their personal feelings for Hillary.
I adore Hillary, hold her in the highest regard, have known her for more than
20 years.
And she says:
I have.
Will you?
We really *need* you, for all the reasons Hillary could elaborate on much
better than I.
GALLUP COMMUNICATIONS
I made an inquiry at the Gallup and got an interesting reply. The following is my latest response and earlier inquiry:
Jim,
Thank you for the informative reply. However, I do not know of any formal statement from Clinton about not seeking the nomination. There is alot of innuendo about that, but she is being sought by her supporters to step up for nomination. According to the DNC, she is going to be on the ballot for nomination as the presidential candidate at the DNC Convention this August. I called Howard Dean’s office myself and asked. There is alot of support insisting she get a fair vote.
Gallup Polls are highly regarded and monitored at my favorite PUMA blog (www.blog.pumapac.org). We sure would like to see some stats on Clinton versus Obama and McCain.
Thanks,
XXX
XXX,
Senator Clinton suspended her campaign and has declared she is no longer a candidate for the Democratic nomination. In fact, she has encouraged her supporters to support Senator Obama and is actively campaigning for him. Unless and until she indicates she is a candidate again, we are not including her in our polls. Senator Clinton, like all major candidates, conducted her own internal polling to make campaign decisions. I’m sure she’ll continue to do that if she is interested in resuming her campaign.
Thank you,
Jim
Message: I would like to find out about what kind of polling you are doing on Hillary Clinton vs Barack Obama. The primary is not over for another 3 weeks and Clinton is reemerging as a contender.
Looks like there is a full mailbox—I wonder if it is because of us–Delegate.H.Mizeur has a full mailbox.
I didnt realize that INVESco was the name of the stadium so I looked up what was with Obama and INVESTO. Take a look at the ad I found. Its looks like some type of ad for a big rock concert,
I am glad that lately many have been realizing that Obama’s head is getting way too big.
