I just checked Amazon (www.amazon.com) and they have it for almost half the cover price. The author is no fly-by-night wacko: he has a Ph.D in political science from Harvard and has written several books on the politics of politics and the politics of oil. And from the synopsis it seems as if this book is all about BO’s (bad) policies and the negative consequences they could have for all of us. So forget Maureen Dowd from today (she’s SO wrong about BO as Darcy: Darcy did good things without anybody knowing about them; BO does nothing and wants everybody to think his nothings are good things….) and make in a run on Amazon

With about 3 weeks to go till the convention I was trying to think of some ideas for prowls and what I think might be priorities. I thought I would put them out to see what others thought.
Based on the latest Hillary video we know she would like her name placed on the roll call vote but it will depend on the DNC and Obama’s camp. We also know Hillary needs 300 pledged delegates to draft and sign a petition to place Hillary’s name into nomination. We also know we need to change the minds of many super delegates so they will vote for Hillary at the convention. So my suggestions are based on the above:
Continued prowls to the DNC stressing Hillary should have a roll call vote (prowls like we have done in the past to the DNC).
I believe Murphy and others have mentioned this too: If you know any Hillary delegates or you know anyone that knows Hillary delegates, ask them if they would sign the Floor Nominating petition and contact:

I mentioned this before and wrote to the JSND coalition team about – I would suggest a concentrated effort that involves the entire coalition in a writing campaign to the super delegates of Obama and the uncommitted super delegates.
Aside from the above I really think a media prowl about these super delegates for sale thing would be really neat.
What is racism? I grew up in a household where there was NO racism. I detest the fact that these Obamanites claim that if we do not fall in line and follow them that we are RACISTS.
The Generation that I am a part of is more worried about the rights for gay marriage and the abortion laws than worrying about someone being slighted because of them being a different color.
These people must realize that not EVERYONE who does not support their golden boy Jester is a racist. Their argument that only 31% of white people support HIM, is false in its premise that the cause of that non support is racism, because they have eliminated any other possible factors being the root cause. If we take their argument at face value, then since 83% of black people support Obama, then the reason they are supporting him is because of his race. Isn’t that racist?

Is anyone else bothered that BO would not debate Senator Clinton one-on-one for the last months of the primary season, and now is refusing to subject himself to any serious questioning or discussion? Below is an item about a military group he flicked off. Three weeks to the convention in Denver and we still do not know who he is, what he stands for and what he will fight for. Who IS he?
With these unanswered questions, his arrogance and sense of entitlement on full display, and his drop in the polls, more than ever we need to remind the decision makers to select the electable candidate. Yes, it might be scary with 74,000 BO supporters in town thinking it’s a done deal, but, hey – it’s only the Presidency of the United States of America and leader of the free world. Important to get it right this time.
We all have busy lives, but please take 15-30 minutes a week to do the ELECTABILITY WATCH these next few weeks. Join the huge group of EWers who are contacting more than 600 SDs with many many thousands of thoughtful letters and calls. We are hearing back that SDs are promising to keep an open mind at the Convention and will take into account the reminder that we will hold them accountable for selecting the electable candidate to get the Democrats back into the White House. Let’s keep encouraging them.

Most people call use otaku (anime freaks) that is what I am. I would have to say that I am more involved with manga (Japanese comics) and anime.
I have tried to get into the Japanese written word by reading the Tales of Genji but got the abridge version and really couldn’t get into it.
My Favorite manga authors would be: Ai Yazawa, Kaori Yuki, Akmine Kamijyo, Nobuhiro Watsuki, Maki Murakami which are just a few of the manga kai (manga writers) that I love!
I am a musician and a writer. I can’t draw to save my life. I come up with lyrics, and music to go along with the manga that I am writing with a co-author who can draw.
I am way into Japanese Jpop/Jrock my favorite bands I have two at the moment: Malice Mizer and Nightmare. Even though there are many other artist that I love listening to that are from Japan.

The media has seen how it backfires (for their candidate) when they decide to MAKE the news, rather than report it.
The Obama campaign is learning that the strategy of hate- don’t worry they will have no choice but vote democratic in the end- DOES NOT win them votes.
The DNC is learning that democracy itself matters more than party loyalty. That HOW a candidate becomes the nominee IS important- so important that Democrats are willing to lose ONE election over it.

I go to anime conventions the recent one I was just at a couple of weeks ago I got into a conversation with many of the cosplayers/otaku and found that they do NOT support Obama and that they never will.

Just a few words about the trailer for THE AUDACITY OF DEMOCRACY. I feel a bit ridiculous saying this, but I’ll say it anyway for the sake of context. That teaser isn’t really a teaser at all. The great bulk of the time I’ve had since returning from Texas has taken up loading footage into my editing system. Because of the format I’m using, this has to be done in real time, which translates to many, many hours. Consequently, I had next to no time available for editing together a proper trailer. What I did manage to chop together was really only intended for Darragh’s fundraising event which, I believe, is to be held today. The reason it wound up on YouTube was due to the fact that I was experimenting with uploading high resolution video streams in preparation for the time that I would eventually be loading up a properly assembled trailer. As it happened, people began logging on and watching it almost instantly. The piece didn’t even appear on YouTube until around 2am and I was going to contact Darragh in the morning to let her know that it was there so that she could see what it looked like. I even told her I’d take it down the second she asked me to. Needless to say, by morning, there were hundreds of viewings and many comments.
So, I left it up.
I’m letting you all know this because there are some who are attacking the piece for being vague and formless. Well, it is vague and formless for the reasons I listed above. But because it seems to be having an impact on people, I’m going to let it stay for the time being.
Oh, and by the way, the rapper kid lives in Seattle but was visiting a friend of his in Princeton. He’s sixteen years old and a very nice guy. We had to have somebody representing Obama, right?

Hate brings more hate and what they are doing is showing hatred for no real reason. They believe that they are so righteous in what they speak of that they do not research the facts and just follow him with a blind eye.

I think that Hillary was in a corner and was pushed into there and tried to fight off Obama. I think what happened is that she had so much against her due to the DNC and the media being in support of the Jester Obama.
What I saw was that either way she turned she was not fully able to defend herself due to other people in the way of her efforts. The DNC did not want her to let lose and use her full abilities to fight Obama. It was already set in stone to start with that the DNC wanted the Jester in instead of Hillary. I am convinced of that.

At our local Barnes & Noble they didn’t have it out when my wife and I went yesterday… and they couldn’t give us a good answer regarding why all their copies of the book were in the back room. The clerk even seemed huffy when we asked her to go get us another copy!

In certain stores, Obama-supportive employees are apparently not stocking the shelves with the book in a clear attempt to place their political interests first. I myself visited my local Barnes & Noble yesterday; when I could not locate the book, I asked the employee at the counter and he conveniently stated that they had not had the time to stock the new release and handed me a copy from a box on the floor. I conveniently contacted B&N customer service to launch a complaint against the store.”
I saw comments here yesterday, as well as in PolicallyDrunk, of other people having similar experience in different stores.
We need to formally complain about this, as suggested above.

The DNC/RBC broke their own rules in favor of Obama.
When looking at the caucuses, surrounding areas reflected majority votes in favor of Senator Clinton,
with the exception of where caucuses were held. When this pattern is apparent in all caucuses relative to surrounding areas, they are highly suspect.
Suoer Delagtes received money from Obama, and switched their votes to him. Their switch does not reflect the will of the voters… In many cases, Senator Clinton beat Obama by wide margins. The SD votes should reflect the will of teh voters, as in Oregon, where delegates are bound by law to do that.

I agree… but not only complain… also make it known (as part of the complaint) that you will be taking your business to another store that does NOT practice censorship. Then encourage others to boycott the store and let them know the same books are cheaper (often half price) on amazon.com or on the used links on amazon.

Hillary was up against the lowest form of political maneuvering that most of us have ever seen. She was the favorite in the race, so the DNC threw their weight and might and political pull behind Obama so that the Democrats could not be accused of “neglecting the ‘black’ guy”. She had to dance a precarious line of pointing out Obama’s weaknesses in a media frenzy that labeled ANY use of the color “black” or “white” as racism, unless it came from Obama. He was free to speak of his own race – and I find it disgusting that every single reference he has made or alluded to in this process has made ‘being black’ sound like a bad thing.
While Obama took the lead immediately after super tuesday, his own past started to sink him. Hillary had the momentum and the votes at the end of the primaries in her favor with huge victories. Enter the DNC demanding that delegates/Superdelegates endorse prior to the convention or else. Fraud at the caucuses which gave him a huge amount of delegates was never investigated.
Don’t for a minute think that the delegates y were not threatened by the DNC. Don’t think the HRC wasn’t threatened by the DNC. The power brokers backed the wrong candidate and instead of moving swiftly to correct it, they are attempting to subvert wrongs with more wrongs in order to save face. He continues to fall flat on his face and yet they still support him.
I don’t think anyone is pointing the finger at anyone here – we are pointing our collective fingers, whichever digit deemed appropriate, at the DNC, the media, and the delegates and superdelegates for failing the voters.

Yes, my friend. I am extremely bothered by it. So much so that I keep hitting the media, the DNC, and anyone I can think of with the following talking points.

How many times during the primary season did Obama say, “I welcome that debate with John McCain”? So why does he now do everything possible to avoid the weekly town hall meetings that McCain keeps asking for?
Here’s what Obama’s actions say to me:
• Obama is not a man of his word.
• Obama does not respect voters who very much want to hear both candidates discuss the issues. Nor does he respect leaders in other countries who also want to hear both candidates discuss the issues.
• Obama not a man who can or will reach across the aisle as he has repeatedly promised to do. If he intended to reach across the aisle, he’d be doing it now every chance he could.
• Obama is afraid that McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his empty rhetoric.
• Obama isn’t confident enough about the issues to speak without a teleprompter or the scripted words of his speechwriters.
• Obama doesn’t believe in transparency in government.
• If Obama were to become President, he would repeatedly shy away form difficult decisions and uncomfortable topics. So, too, would he avoid talking with other world leaders unless they bow to his every whim.
On policy issues, I’m more aligned with Democrats than I am with Republicans. But I can’t in good conscience vote for a man of such bad character.

MARUEEN DOWD is an arrogant smug self-congratulatory “writer”. I stopped reading her long ago, but not before sending a few little notes to her and the NYT. I think the last one I read and responded to was one where the title was something like: “She’s still HHEEERRREE” sarcastically referring to Senator Clinton during the days when Clinton was arranging for her speech in support of BO’s campaign. I wrote back to Dowd and said that for a moment I thought the title was referring to her (Dowd) and was so disappointed to discover that it was about someone else and that Dowd is “still here”, then blasted her for her horrid misinformed pieces. I think she’s in love with BO. No joke. She wrote a piece once that sounded like an adolescent girl giggling nervously in the presesence of some boy she has a secret crush on when talking about encountering Obama on his plane. It was pitiful.
GRAPHICS and DESIGN – I’m no visual artist, but have some skills in that area. Didn’t read every word of every post but it seems like Murphy’s looking for folks to help with a project and I’m open to learn more about it and how I can help.

I just got done listening to Murphy radio show last night. Murphy – you sure are becoming a real pro at this radio stuff. Seems like you have gotten very comfortable in the radio host role.
It was a very imformative show and I highly recommend everyone listen to it when they can.
I did the pledge actions today, that survey thing. I had thought I had done before but I decided to re-check this morning and it wasn’t the one I was thinking so I did it.
I forgot to mention yesterday my wife and I go on these 20 mile bike rides every weekend so yesterday I took some fliers in my pack and put them around as we were riding. I should be able to do that again next weekend.

First — let me say that I really did enjoy watching this film immensely, but did notice some weaknesses. The explanation that Lori posted explains why most of the weaknesses are visible since it’s still a work in progress. I totally understand and certainly don’t envy the work ahead to sort through the hours of film editing.
I do however have a suggestion regarding the Obama rapper. Lose him. He was awful. I’m sure if the intent is truly to show some side of an Obama supporter — it could be very easy to get footage that would make the film stronger rather than weaker.

Obama’s camp called on Hillary to “reject her racist voters” (that is anyone who voted for her) meanwhile the media is always saying “Obama has a good chance of winning North carolina because of large black population”, so that would mean they are voting for Obama because he is black. It is ok therefore for someone to vote for Obama because he is black, but NOT ok for someone to vote for Hillary because she is white. What planet are we on?

Barack Obama, moving to heal one of his party’s deepest wounds, called Sunday for a full seating of the disputed Florida and Michigan delegations at the Democratic National Convention.
The Democratic National Committee had cut the states’ delegations as punishment for scheduling early primaries. But Democrats recognize the importance of a motivated base in those classic battlegrounds.
The delegate count for the states was one of the most contentious issues between the Clinton and Obama campaigns as the nominating contests ground down.
Here is the text of Obama’s instruction to the party, which he now controls as presumptive nominee:

I knew this was coming. Sometime after the May 31st results and the end of the Primaries — there was an AP article about Dean giving control of the DNC over to Obama. Buried in that article was a brief paragraph on how Obama was planning to give back full vote to FL and MI at the convention. My immediate interpretation of that paragraph translated as follows:
After Obama no longer needs the delegates or super delegates… AFTER Obama has definitely SECURED the nomination… then only AFTER all that happens… he will gladly restore the full vote to the voters of FL and MI in order to make himself look wonderful and great to the voters. Also a cheap trick to get the FL and MI voters to vote for him in the GE since obviously — HE (“THE CHOSEN ONE”) is the sole person responsible for restoring their votes….

Also… I would like to offer a suggestion for us to do in our spare time. I don’t want to take away from the important work regarding delegates and Denver — so by no means should this suggestion interfere with the more pressing items. But here’s a side thought I’ve been having:
I’m seeing some articles in which the Dems are putting pressure on the Obama camp to perform and do better in the polls. Obama is hemorrhaging voters as they become more and more familiar with what he’s about. He does seem to be floundering like a fish out of water. Desperately trying to get a handle on how to bounce back. In this context of poor poll ratings — I’ve also noticed an increase attack on McCain’s ads (in the news media — Fox included). So I’m guessing Obama isn’t blaming his own flaws as a candidate but prefers to blame McCain’s ads as successful in hurting his poll ratings. I think — again in our spare time — we ought to send some letters of appreciation to McCain for his excellent ads that nail the truth on the head. Maybe send some letters to the news media to lay off the McCain Ad attacks as well… the ads tell the truth… so what’s the problem with them? Is there suddenly a problem with truth in advertising? Or is this such a novelty that we don’t recognize true advertising when it occurs and is it the news media’s job to censor such ads?
I’m proud of McCain for not backing down and plan to let McCain and the MSM know it. But I expect the attacks on these ads from the Obama camp will heat up.

If, however, she does not become the nominee then I will do ANYTHING to stop Obama after what he has done even if it means voting republican (ouch). I think you need to understand that your words as well as Irish are spending an awful lot of effort in distracting the real issues. Similar to Obama’s campaigning tactics. Puma’s prefer not to be distracted by the divisive tactics and I applaud MP for her decision. My only question to MP would be why it took so long… but would conclude the answer to be that pumas like to play with their prey first.

I was once accused of being a troll at Hillary’s web site before I had fully made up my mind about Obama. Part of the problem was that so few of my posts got through that people didn’t get to know me. They made judgments based on a limited snapshot.
What I learned from that experience is that sometimes one has to do a better job of explaining one’s position. Being confrontational doesn’t help. But it is okay to express doubts and invite input. I was reticent to consider McCain until my questions and concerns were answered.
I haven’t followed the posts closely enough to understand the friction this morning. But I do know that Maryland Puma is a very good person who is doing a lot for our movement. Everyone here has made important contributions. I’m sure you do too.

I would like to second the thoughts of Trish and say that I too adore this PAC and am addicted. Like many I will need a 12 step withdrawal program if all this comes to pass.
But I would also like to warn that I suspect that as BO becomes more and more desperate and as the cards start to stack against him — that along with those factors in play — there will most likely be more and more attacks on this PUMA site. So let me say in advance — that I totally support MP, Murphy, and all those working hard behind the scenes to keep this site clean of Obamabots. I have your back just as I have Hillary’s back and I’m convinced that I’m not alone in that sentiment. My hat is off to you — I wouldn’t want to have to deal with all that you have on your plate but I totally appreciate every contribution. Thank you all.
This site has given me a voice in a time when I was terribly frustrated at what I was witnessing but didn’t know what to do about it. This site has given me the options… and the power to find what needs to be done. When the primaries ended, the Clinton supporters had two choices. We could curl up in a ball and “Fall in Line” with accepting what the DNC had thrown at us — or we could choice to get up and fight and build safety nets to prevent this atrocity in the future. This site is about building the safety nets. It’s what I wanted to choose all along but didn’t know how by myself. This site gave me power as well as a voice.

Thank you for sharing insight from Ireland. We enjoy hearing from people in other countries. It gives us a fresh perspective.
However, please don’t think that Hillary is a puppet for the DNC. She’s in a very awkward position where she can’t overtly fight for the Presidency anymore. Doing so would hurt her career and, more importantly, her ability to fight for the programs she wants to implement for us.
Hillary is smartly stepping back and flying under the radar. She has kept the door open by keeping her delegates. Meanwhile, Pumas and our allies are fighting the battle that she can’t.
It hurts to see Hillary handcuffed this way. But that is the script we’ve been handed. We must do what we can to turn the story around in our favor.

I was privileged to be on the video and I would like to thank both Lori and Brad for a very professional job, they filmed in less than perfect circumstances but never lost sight of the big picture.
I live in Dallas, Texas and went through all of the mess which the Texas Democratic Party referrers to as the Texas Two Step, I was a delegate to our state convention and in short, it is my conclusion that the O campaign thinks running for office is a blood sport and they treat it that way, this is definitely not for the faint of heart or those easily intimidated.
My concern is not only about Hillary and the upcoming election (I’m voting for McCain) but about what direction we are going to take after November, do we squander all of this wonderful talent and all of the resources Murphy and others have brought our way or do we organize, roll up our sleeves and work to get Hillary elected in 2012.

BOOK STORE MINI PROWL REPORT:
In search of “Obama Nation”, went to my local Borders and B&N. Had interesting experiences at both locales:
At Borders, no sign of the book anywhere. Asked to speak with the store manager. She said the book was in the back in stock and proceeded to spent a LOT of time trying to look it up on the computer re: the status. I commented that it seemed awfully complicated trying to find the status of a widely publicized book that’s already been out. She kept aplogizing that it was taking so long while flipping from screen to screen. She finally found some page that said the book couldn’t be released until Aug. 5th. I told her I had several friends all across the country that had already purchased it. She said whatever bookstore they bought it from would be fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for breaking some agreement that she tried to point out on the computer screen that presumably binds booksellers not to release a book until that date. She then went to the amazon web site and said, “You see. They can’t release it until the 5th either.” I pointed out that what she was showing me on the amazon site was the date you could receive the book if you purchased it today and pointed out the prominently displayed release date of August 1st on the page she had opened. Then a salesperson came over and told her she was wrong, the release date was August 1st and that he saw a couple of copies over on the shelf and then went to fetch one for me. He returned with a copy. I asked why there were only 2 books buried over in the non-fiction when it was a new book that should be featured in a display in the front of the store. The manager said with a gleeful expression and tone, “Well, from checking the stats here on the computer it looks like the book just isn’t selling.” I said, “But how could it be selling if you haven’t put it out for sale?” She reitterated that it just doesn’t seem to be selling. I told her that there were already published reports that employees in bookstores who are very supportive of Obama have been manipulating how and when the book is displayed and she stopped me midstream and said she would never do anything like that, that it was all about sales, period. (By the way, at Borders, the book had a 30% off sticker on it.)
At Barnes & Noble, the book was out on a table with other new releases. There was a woman flipping through it. I walked up to her and said it was good and that she should buy it. She said, “Is it scarey?” I said that it certainly raised questions of serious concern. Then she said, “Is this our future?” I said, “It doesn’t have to be.” Unfortunately I didn’t have any fliers since I was en route to get the xeroxed, but I wrote down this web site and the denver group’s web site on a piece of paper and she appeared very appreciative.
If others have funky experiences trying to buy the book, I’d be happy to accumulate everyone’s stories and then send a letter to the CEO of either or both book stores about it. However, I don’t want to give out my e-mail address (invites too many wierdos who can visit this site), so you’d have to make an upper case, bolded heading for me to see your post.
I was so bummed I didn’t have fliers with me. Now I can understand why there are postcards and I think, even business cards, in the Action Center. After the interchange at B&N I’ve got to have something on me at all times to hand out.
Sorry for the looooooooooong post.
PS I think fliers are a real priority now, in addition to sd contacts because, working backwards in time from the convention, this is a crucial time to get the word out to others so they might join and strengthen our efforts before the convention. Just a little strategic thought….

I just had a scary thought. Besides the obvious reasons why Obama is doing this — does anyone remember reports some months back where Obama’s camp was making calls to Florida delegates to see who was a follower? And the implication of the article was that if the delegate was a Clinton supporter — they were making plans to replace them with Obama delegates?
Does anyone else remember that story or is my memory failing me? If I’m remembering correctly — could it also be possible that he’s restoring the full vote to these states not only to make himself look good — but also because he’s lined up all the delegates in those states to vote for him at the Convention? Nothing to prove this… just theory… and posing the question.

I finally concluded having MO in the white house pretending to be seen as inportant and Pelosi’s warped sense of “helping” the country is almost more motivation than *61′s corruption and ignorance for me to make sure Senator Clinton wins the nomination and election. These are not negative statements but the truth and seeing Pelosi try to squirm out of why they didn’t vote on an energy bill before going on vacation just made me sick.

Given the fact that documentary films have a high shoot ratio of 100:1–compared to fiction’s mere (3:1), everyone should know that’s 100-HRS OF RAW FOOTAGE for EVERY 1- HR of FINAL digital ‘FILM’ for documentaries. Doc editing is literally a time- and day-eater! Hat’s off to Murphy and all the post production crew for the hrs you’re spending for this cause.
RE: mzebest’s critique on the rapper…I have to agree. Although, you may already have the better footage, just not re-discovered it yet while in the edit process. If not, it’s definitely out there on the streets. Find it. Since it does reflect a strong segment of *61s followers, keep the rap in, but with a truer representation and frame edit where it does the most good in the storyline thru out. Like it or not, it’s been their beat and mantra.

Ya know… on the subject of having 3 cats… when my daughter dirst dumped our recent youngest cat on me… the new cat made a total of 3 at the time. One of those cats had passed away 6 months back of old age. But when I first got the the kitten — I immediately took it to the vet for a checkup, shots, and said to the vet, “Ya know… I now have 3 cats and I think that officially qualifies me for the label of “CAT LADY.” The Vet laughed and said, “No — I think 7 cats qualify you as a “Cat Lady” — although 6 might be pushing it.” I exclaimed, “I think 3 is pushing it.” He laughed.

There is one and only on reason that Obama would agree to restore the vote in FL and MI: Because he has to.
I do not know where they are getting those polls that show he has any support in Fl. They have to be totally biased. No one hear likes him. Any support he has is because he is the Democratic Candidate. I have been so mad about the Fl votes, I could spit. And I know the Florida Democratic Party knows the rules and how unfair the deal was. Obama will simply lose the this state if he does not restore the vote. He will probably lose it even if he does.
Listen, the DNC already know that BO has lost the election. McCain is behind him by just a few percentage points and Obama is running flat out while the GOP has not yet started. My guess is that the July fundraising did not go so well and BO spent nearly whatever he brought in. How much did the Egotrip cost?
I percieve the vote restoration as an act of desperation. It is too little, too late to get him a significant bounce. That is what he is looking for.
Keep doing what you are doing. BO has always been unelectable. We always knew that. The party wanted to try to get him elected. It is not working. If the party wants to have a winning candidate they have to do something else.

This is a good preview of what our economy would look like if Obama were ever elected. He’d spend massive amounts of money to feed his ego, doing very little that actually benefits Americans.
Then he’d raise our taxes under the guise that candidate-Obama was able to do so much with small-dollar donations from millions. Why shouldn’t millions more be willing to keep giving small donations (e.g., higher fees and taxes) for all the things this snake oil salesman promises us?

how any of you can type, read and listen is beyond me! i tuned into blog radio and then registered so i could jump into the running blog, but, geez, it was going a mile a minute and i couldn’t make sense of it cause it was going so fast. all-the-while, i’m trying to listen to the guy on his cell phone at dunkin’ donuts and my computer speakers are so old that the sound isn’t great anyway and my head was exploding trying to concentrate. meanwhile, the dishwasher was running in the background, the cat was meowing and pawing at me to prepare her dinner and my husband was outside with the wet vac cleaning the landlady’s property.

Tom Brokaw Angrily Denies NBC Racism Charge
NBC’s “Meet the Press” interim moderator Tom Brokaw has responded sharply to a charge that the network is racist for hiring only white males to host the show.
The charge came from Scott Pellegrino in an article carried by CounterPunch, a mostly left-wing newsletter and Web site.
Pellegrino, a veteran talk-radio producer, pointed out that there have been nine permanent hosts of “Meet the Press” since 1953 — “all of them white and all of them male, as though the civil rights and women’s movements never happened.”
He then initiated an e-mail exchange with Brokaw, asking in his first e-mail to Brokaw’s assistant if the veteran newsman thought it would be “appropriate” for NBC to hire a person of color as the next “Meet the Press” host.
Brokaw responded in an e-mail disclosed by Pellegrino that he is “not in charge” of selecting the next permanent host following the death of Tim Russert. But he stated that there are many men and women “of all colors and backgrounds who are on the long list of possibilities.”
Pellegrino, president and CEO of PopDebate and CollegiateDebates — which tout themselves as “the Web’s premier portal for stimulating intellectual exchange among the globe’s sharpest minds” — replied the same day. He said that while Brokaw is not in charge of picking the next host, he more than anyone else at NBC has the “gravitas” to influence the choice.
When Brokaw did not respond for six days, Pellegrino ratcheted up the vitriol in an e-mail with the subject line “Mr. Brokaw, very disappointed in your cowardly silence,” asking: “Where is your conscience? Is your life nothing more than an exclusive white-male country club?”
Brokaw angrily responded: “What kind of self-aggrandizing stunt is this?” He went out to document his long career reporting on issues of race and “advocating racial fairness and justice,” citing among other works a “prize-winning documentary called ‘Separate and Unequal’ about the economic and social consequences of the continuing racism in America.”
He called Pellegrino a “cheap shot columnist looking for an easy headline.”
In a later e-mail Brokaw wrote: “If I say publicly that NBC must choose an African-American as the new host and then NBC management decides on an African-American man or woman based entirely on merit, what do you think the reaction will be? Oh, he/she got the job simply because they’re black.”
In his next e-mail Pellegrino called NBC a “racist” media company, along with several other media entities he named.
At that point Steve Capus, president of NBC News, sent an e-mail to Pellegrino stating that “Tom has finishing communicating with you,” adding that Pellegrino is “more intent on pathetic cheap shots and deranged rants.”
I guess I really don’t need to be listening to all that anyway. It sounds like a sorority in crowd tea party where everyone says nothing but just pats each other on the back. JMHO but it seems like way more of substance gets said and done right here.

When “Hardball” host Chris Matthews began floating the idea that he might seek Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter’s seat in 2010, observers suspected he was trying to bolster his position in contract talks with MSNBC.
But Matthews is “still serious” about running for office, Paul Bedard reports in his Washington Whispers column in U.S. News & World Report.
Sources close to Matthews “now tell us that he’s eager to reach out to important Pennsylvania voting groups and leaders and has even won the backing of his wife,” according to Bedard. “One big concern: his nasty hit on Sen. Hillary Clinton as a ‘she devil,’ for which he was slammed as sexist.”
On the NBC-syndicated “Chris Matthews Show” last Nov. 18, Matthews teased a discussion by asking, “‘She Devil?’ Republicans are absolutely demonizing Hillary Clinton.”
While he spoke, an image of Clinton appeared on screen with the words “She Devil?” below it. Later, an image of Clinton with devil horns appeared on screen.
An associate told Bedard, “He is concerned he ruined it with the women vote.”
Matthews’s contract expires next year, and New York Times reporter Mark Leibovich wrote in April that NBC officials would like to renew it for considerably less than the $5 million a year he is making now.

I read further down and it appears that Gov. Kaine is saying that GOP is registering underage voters, but the Del. Fredericks said that people should not register when somebody comes to their door. So, he is telling voters not to register when Obamabots come.
I messed up because I thought that Obamabots were arrested, but unfortunatelly it’s the GOP guys who got arrested.
About 3 weeks ago, I didn’t hear correctly that the newspaper wrote letter asking Pelousy to step down, so I thought that she said that she will resign. I am sorry for misleading you.

Anon – Unfortunately – I believe that Gollum(thank you for that name Gandalf) got more endorsements from Michigan and Florida than our Hillary – thanks to the four given to him in Michigan over her – I think the main thing about this is that if they get full vote rather than half vote then they figure that either Gollum or Hillary have more delegates that they have to obtain instead of what it is now – not sure about all that – but believe I read that at Demcon watch, I do not want to spread any rumors on this – will research further and advise.
In my humble opinion, if we want to have credbility in our Electability Watch, when we write super delegates, we need to have numbers to back up our claims.
Therefore, it has been suggeted that we write Rasumussen, Gallop and Quinnepac and have them start incuding Hillary’s name in the questioning.

Too late for Hillary, I say. Just another slap to her face.
Why that woman continues to take things on the chin and support a phony is frustrating to me. Her credibility as a leader is being irreparibly damaged. She should have fought for those delegates when it mattered most for her candidacy, not take that s*** the DNC threw at her.
The Bible says that woman is from the rib of man. In Hillary’s case I wish she were from the spine of a Lieberman or McCain. Those two will go against their own parties in favor of principle without regard to their political careers. I LIKE THAT IN A POLITICAIN. VERY MUCH SO! Not only is it refreshing , but rare. Britain’s Margaret Thatcher was the same way, I do believe.
Not to worry anymore, however. I have moved on from that disappointment of a candidate.
You know, I think I was really for Ms. Clinton in the beginning because of the possibility of returning Bill to the White House. I didn’t want to believe that way for the longest of time. She really showed spunk in the later stages of her campaign and held a distinct advantage in the command of issues. A very well read and innovative politician. In her own right she was the leader I was looking for. My favorite Hillary Clinton side was when she appeared on the O’Reilly Factor. She shone best in front of that character’s manner. I have never seen her come close to that magnificent performance. So I know she’s capable. Like iI said though… it sure would have been a nicer country with Bill once again help making it so.
Now Obama gets to call the shots. And of course, those DNC hypocritical wussies will let him restore those FL and MI delegates even though that will mean, afterall, the rules were broken with impunity.
The article noted: Granting full voting rights to the delegates raises questions about whether the party will be able to control its own nominating process in the future.
Hopefully, there will not be any future left for the DNC to even ponder such questions of control over anything after the election.
If it means anything to all the Hillary Clinton fans on this site I am waiting for the return of that “O’Reilly Factor” spirit in her to return and miraculously take the nomination away from Obama. I know she has it in her.

Bought the “Obama Nation” at Barnes and Noble. One of the managers walked by right after I picked it up and went, “Oh nuts!” when he saw the empty spot. I showed him I had taken the last one (the two pro-Obama books were still just sitting there). I got the impression he had been busy re-stocking the pile today
They had the book on two display tables.
Was wandering around a bit in the bargain area and saw they had Obama’s “Hopes and Dreams” book in that area. There was a really large stack of them and they were noted “updated edition.” And they are priced at less than $10.

I ran over here as fast as I could to get the real scoop and saw on a post way above (sorry can’t remember who) that BO had planned it all along to look like the good guy. I totally agree. However, we are a strong group and this is a great chance for us to get these delegates to do the right thing!

He feels he must hide them behind a veneer of charisma. Instead, Barack Obama only believes that which is popular to the masses. His opinions change only when the masses opinions change, not out of conviction but because of polling data provided by Axelrod and Co. From this perspective, Obama’s ego is quite small. It could fit within the palm of your hands or be carried within a small purse. No, Barack Obama is a broken man for he has no identity both literally and figuratively. He is made up of what is popular, what is hip, what is now. Obama’s quest for more and more power is just a symptom of his selflessness. He isn’t seeking the power to exercise or even contemplate. He seeks it merely because of his need to impress others, to feed off other’s desires. His life story is neatly crafted to pull at the heart strings of Americans; his message to evoke hope in a time seemingly bereft of it. Obama has no identity because he has no beliefs. His changing positions are like changing fashions, one day they’re in, the next your out. He cares when others care, he doesn’t when others don’t. He feeds off the desires of others and presents himself as such. Yet, America doesn’t necessarily need what the masses want. A man without conviction is a man incapable of deciding. Many have compared Obama to Bush, a comparison I find faulty. Bush may have been many things, but selfless is not one of them. He acted because he believed what he was doing was right, he didn’t care what others thought. His beliefs never wavered even as his public opinion plummeted. Obama is the anti-Bush, the person that agrees with whatever you say and will only do what everyone wants him to do. To elect Obama is to elect no one.

I definitely made it clear that I felt Obama was corrupt and I would never vote for him in a choice between him and McCain. I also was asked how I’ve voted in the past. I told them mostly Democratic but I won’t be doing that this year.
They asked how I would be voting for California representatives? I explained that I would be doing careful research on my choices. I felt that there was a lot of corruption in the DNC this year and I would be voting against anyone that shows evidence of participating in the corrupt practices.
They asked how likely is it that I will vote in November… I told them EXTREMELY LIKELY. It wasn’t a question, but I added and let the questionaire person know that if the DNC gets it’s act together and does the right thing by allowing a fair nomination of Hillary Clinton at the convention, then I will definitely be voting for Clinton in November.

I figured out Obama by reading this book Fountainhead. In it they have this character named Howard Roark who refuses to bend to the will of the majority, even at the expense of his own architectural career. He laments people who try to get ahead by emulating others, what he calls second-handers, people who achieve so-called greatness only on the backs of others.
Some of the things these second-handers do reminded me of Obama:
They steal and claim things as their own (Change you can Xerox.)
They claim to enjoy something (i.e. rap music, waffles, etc.) because the masses enjoy it.
They live by following others (Rev. Wright).
Their opinions change when the opinions of others change (flip flops: Iraq, Public financing, FISA, drilling, etc.).

No… if they did identify themselves… I didn’t hear it… but they knew my name and asked if I or any member of my house are political representatives or work for media, newspapers, or TV stations. I said “NO” to this question. Then they asked me the year I was born and I said, “I prefer not to give out personal information if that’s ok.” She said it was ok… but maybe they already had my profile information. Not sure… then she proceeded with the questions about voting. Asked some questions pertaining to California district issues too.

He is doing, it in my opinion so he can take all the credit for being the Party uniter and great savior.
And this after dissing the people of Florida and Michigan by not allowing a revote. Not to mention stealing delegates from Hillary on May 31st so he could win the nomination. Add that to Howard Deans’s mistep at the beginning by not allowing Hillary’s win to count and you have all the earmarkings of a corrupted primary election.
I hope the Michigan and Florida delegation zing it to him come the roll call vote and vote ALL their votes to Hillary.

i never answer questions when i get calls asking for info about anything cause i can never really know who the hell is calling and what their agenda is. i never know how much info they have about me to begin with and don’t want to add to it.
Anna7000, We knew BO would eventually seat the whole delegation (as long as he has the delegates he thinks he needs). That was imperative to do before the General Election. Otherwise, the GOP would use ads in FL and MI saying they were dissed by BO. I think they still might.
