Walking Eagle

It’s Saturday night. It’s late. Still feeling the adrenaline rush from the major SNAFU earlier on the RADIO SHOW (sorry Everyone!), SOOO, if bathroom humor is not your cup of tea (block that metaphor!) you should move on to this site for the remainder of the evening. (thanks much to dwp and mp)

Senator Barack Obama was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upstate NewYork . HE spoke for almost an hour on HIS future plans for increasing every Native American’s present standard of living, should HE one day become the President. He referred to his career as a Senator, how he had signed `YES` for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval. Although the Senator was vague on the details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his “red sisters and brothers.” At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented the Senator with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name – Walking Eagle. The proud Senator then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds. A news reporter later asked the group of chiefs of how they came to select the new name they had given to the Senator. They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of shit it can no longer fly.

UPDATE p.s. It has been brought to my attention that some people are under the impression that the preceding is a true story. Although explanation is an instant buzz-kill for jokes, let me be clear: the preceding story is a JOKE. There is no Native American group in this country that has presented a “Walking Eagle” plaque to Barack Obama or any other politician. J-O-K-E.

Seems Bo’s $2500.00 dnation to Matheson only paid for the endorsement. The actual vote costs more.

Bo better start raising funds he has a lot of votes to buy if he wants to win.

Obama to NYT: ‘A Week of Great Press’ but ‘We Don’t BUY Our Own Hype’

And I say neither do the American people.

Hype: Blatant or sensational promotion

Well at least Obama admits that the great press was nothing but blatant promotion.

In England, CNN has a picture of Obma all by himself in front of 10 Downing Street.

The British government only receive official foreign presidents, and prime-ministers at Downing Residence.

However, that did not stop Obama from embarrassing himself by posing in front of the door, as if, he were a foreign president..

MSM Mostly Ignores Surge of Anti-Obama PUMA Democrat Activity
By P.J. Gladnick (Bio | Archive)
July 26, 2008 – 13:06 ET

Imagine if a bunch of disgruntled Mitt Romney supporters were currently stalking John McCain or Republican events loudly demanding that their candidate be nominated. Think the national press would be featuring it bigtime as an example of Republican party disunity? Well, the same thing is happening except the people are disgruntled Democrats expressing their opposition of Barack Obama while loudly continuing to support Hillary Clinton. They are known as PUMA (”People United Means Action” or “Party Unity My A**”).

#30 DancesWithPumas on 07.27.08 at 12:44 am

“However, contrary to being just a desperate last gasp by Hillary’s supporters, PUMA activities seem to be surging lately despite the overseas trip by Obama which was widely heralded by the mainstream media. In fact, the official PUMA PAC website has today announced, in a message directed towards Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod, their view that the Obama trip was a “flop”:

So if you fancy yourself the Democrats’ Karl Rove — an unbeatable master of politics and strategy, how come the Grand Tour was such a flop for your guy? Sinking in blue swing states, tanking in red states. . . Most Americans believe the Ego Trip, I mean World Tour, hurts or doesn’t help his chances in November. Your guy can’t even make a dent against an old guy who hasn’t even begun to campaign against you in earnest. You’re losing during the warm-up? Oops. Groan.

Don’t think the online PUMA activities are restricted to mere online grumbling. They are actively protesting in public what they feel is unfair treatment of Hillary by the DNC. Here is what happened to Howard Dean while visiting North Carolina yesterday according to the Charlotte Observer:”

I am so excited right now about what Ray said about the petition and that Hillary knows what we are doing and the delegates are trying to get 300 delegates to put her in nomination too.
This is the best news I have heard since she laid down her sword.
Are you guys happy too????
We have got to pump out those letters to the delegates as Ray said, all the way though the convention.

Go German PUMAs!

http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/cgi-bin/blogs/voices.php/2008/07/26/p27257

In Berlin, supporters of one of these organizations, PUMA (Party Unity My A**), were distributing leaflets calling for such an open party convention. Obama’s security team confiscated the leaflets, not only from the PUMA organizers themselves, but also from any spectator who passed through the security gate, leaflet in hand. So much for Obama’s oft-cited “change.”

Re Debra Bartoshevich

Joe Wineke and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin decided yesterday to strip Debra Bartoshevich of her delegate status for the 2008 Democratic Party convention.

We must respond to this horrendous decision.

Please take a look at the two letters for that are posted at http://www.NotFallingInLine.org, make suggestions for their improvement, and send them!

Thank you. Brian

I did use the address you had for Pelosi and sent her my own letter.. I just thought.. not that I’m more brilliant writer or anything.. but I had something from my heart I wanted to say to her…

Thanks for the help though:)

I mentioned in a previous posting that I put to good use those leftover school photographs of my beautiful black son by inserting a picture in the envelope on those occasions when I mail correspondence to SD’s. I will get out a note to Representative Waters, cum picture, just so that she knows not all PUMAs are middle-aged women – and white. (My son, who just turned 16, looks more like a man since these pictures were taken but, just so that she knows this young black man has a mind of his own, I will include this anecdote. Concerned his support of HRC might merely mimick what he observed in his mother, I asked him to sum up why he preferred her over BO. He said, “Because she doesn’t give people the finger.” )

I’ve been thinking… once selected as the party’s nominee… to be considered a true blue PARTY MEMBER it is expected that everyone fall in line. Hence the push to unity.

So that when anyone goes against what the DNC claims… in writing you/us off, then then say, well, then you must not be a democrat. You must be a republican, or, you were a Rush Limbaugh supporter all along… bla bla.

Well…. I’ve been thinking about that delegate the other day who was ousted or her delegate rights, because she used the term “democrat” instead of saying the DemocratIC party; because they said, she must be listening to Rush Limbaugh.

So,

When we send out flyers or mailers and sign it, A PUMA PAC democrat … we are being put into that mix of not being a true blue democrat. As if to say, to rebell is to automatically be excommunicated by the powers to be.

That means, that some delegates who might be thinking about switching back to Hillary, are NOT going to proclaim it outwardly.

They will wait for the August Convention vote.

Do you see what I am getting at here?

Sometimes silence is GOLDEN.

#68 cosmeta on 07.27.08 at 2:15 am

And for us…

If it doesnt happen in August,

We will cast our silent votes in November.

Hi cosmeta, your northern neighbor, goanderson, et al!

I’ve missed most of today’s posts as I’ve been getting ready for vacation w/my kids. And listening to goanderson’s good advice on getting my travel plans made for Denver. ;)

TOPIC: GOOGLE is now our friend

Kind of cool, if you go into Google & enter
democratic convention + denver + rollcall + agenda
(I was looking for an actual “agenda” as in, 10-12 speech by so and so, 3-5:00 breakout sessions, or whatever. I didn’t find one but guess what?

the first link when you enter those terms that comes up is a denvergroup video

& the second link is a PUMA link! Not bad?!! As these terms are most likely the search terms I would guess the Delegates are / will be using when looking for info online.

Also, from doing this search this link came up:

For those of you going to Denver PLEASE be careful. The Dean Team is beginning to really freak me out. He has police consider what equipment they will use against us. That means that if they see anybody wearing a PUMA t-shirt, Hillary t-shirt or sign or anything of that sort, they will attack us. That REALLY scares me.

Here’s a link to this article from FoxNews:

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/07/26/police-prepare-for-thousands-of-protesters-at-denver-convention/

I realize that they are just trying to scare us off, but this may not be the best way.

[[That means, that some delegates who might be thinking about switching back to Hillary, are NOT going to proclaim it outwardly.]]

*******************

If you were a delegate, what would you do?

Me, I’m outspoken enough that I might have done what Debra did and found myself under the bus. (It wouldn’t be the first bus I’ve been under.)

But I’ve accumulated enough battle scars that I’m beginning to learn the game. Plan B would be to keep my mouth shut … or talk only to those whom I could trust … and plan an August upset.

There may be plenty of delegates who are fiercely loyal to Hillary and are only pretending to play the unity game, because doing so is the safest strategy right now.

And there may be many other delegates who are watching Obama closely, evaluating who he really is, and watching to see what his chances of defeating McCain are. They may be still undecided. But even undecided is good for us at this point.

TOPIC: DENVER

OK now I am getting Excited! I have travel plans, and that feels sooo good!!

If you are going to Denver & have extra time to spend there do consider these factoids I discovered online:

_ There is a Willie Nelson concert in Denver I think it’s on Tuesday night

_ There is a band supposed to do a Beatles concert (supposed to sound just like them) which takes place Saturday night of the weekend before convention

_ there is also a Jazz/Blues festival taking place during the week of convention.

Enough to do??!! ;D

#76 sarapuma on 07.27.08 at 2:37 am

I came across this site where you can bet real money on who will be president.

It looks like they haven’t caught on to PUMA. The odds for Hillary winning are around 4%– like $1000 would earn $20000. It might be a way for PUMAs to make a lot of money

Do you know on the day after I first sent REIKI to Hillary, the next day was the day she cried when someone asked her “how do you do it?” And I’m not saying the REIKI made her cry (it helps w/all kinds of healing tho, including emotional), but I thought it was a weird coincidence. It also provides the receiver w/a lot of protection.

I need to go to bed now so nite-nite, all…!

Tomorrow is another day & I am headed to WA & Canada & will try to check on line during the next week.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to put my fake politician hat on and I very much agree with Cosmeta that silence is golden at this time.
Listening to Ray on the radio tonight, one can gain some insight as to how most of the delegates might be thinking. Being politicians, they would by nature want to wait to see which way the wind is blowing before they show their hands. This is why it is so important for us to make as much noise as possible.
I dare to say it is impossible for anyone to predict how this whole process will turn out right now, therefore I truly believe Hillary has a good chance to be nominated, much better than what these people would want us to believe.
I myself sense a very quiet undercurrent is going on out there, and I think it is time we push hard to force the deal.

I’m guessing it’s fake, as it very much sounds like something you would read in a forward or something. I’m sure the press (At least people like Sean Hannity) would be all over it if true.

PUMAs have not condoned or encouraged anything that should harbor that kind of response. They should be ashamed of themselves, but it’s certainly not even close to the worst things they have done to us.

#85 sandipuma on 07.27.08 at 3:29 am

Also there will be tons more than what they are saying. 20 to 50 thousand. No thats just a drop in the bucket to what will be showing up this time.

Letter to Hillary at Hillpac………
I am one of 18 million who believes this election was fixed…..you were and are Americas
best hope. Please allow your name on roll call and nomination ballot at Denver Convention.
IN answer to what issues are affecting us in a real bad way……gas, food, health care are all major forces against us.
My daughter in law lost her sight last year 3 days before her signup date for health insurance, she has state aid now but often has to go without her meds because she is alotted only 5 perscriptions a month. Her husband had to change jobs because he took over the care of their 2 daughters (age 1 and 3),couldnt find work accept driving for pizza…..gas eats up any tip income, there are days when they run out of food and milk and diapers. I worry and hurt for them and fear for their future and my grandchildren. We need someone who hears our voices and then responds with help and hope for a better tomorrow…. Mrs Clinton I believe you are that someone and I hope you will consider all 18 Million voices.

Respectfully,
Denise Aubrey/TennaseePuma

I know. We are PUMAs–the best, the smartest, and the most caring people. I thought it last night–PUMAs stand for:
-Truth
-Honesty
-Justice

I am just very upset that Dean and the gang are preparing police to attack us. I am just really scared about what police or Obamabots will try to do to us. Dean is just a really bad guy. He seems to do anything to get BHO to win. Obamabots said in one of the interviews about a month ago that if BHO doesn’t get official nomination in Denver then “we will take it to the streets”.

Reading about these “preparations” brings back haunting images and memories of the events which took place in Moscow on Red Square on August 19, 1991. Gorbochev was kidnapped. Huge fighting broke out. It lasted for three days and a lot of people died. The police were beating people up. They had plastic shield and were just beating people up with sticks. Some of them did one of the most famous things in those days–grabbed somebody, pulled them towards a truck and started hitting their head against the truck. The person would get severely injured and probably die. Brr. VERY SCARY MEMORIES.

Please be very careful. Hide the signs and t-shirts underneath your shirt and in the back of your pants so that you could get into the building safely. I am pretty sure that the police won’t strip search you. They might make you go through the metal detector, but home made signs and t-shirts won’t set the alarm off. Please be careful and stay safe.

I am sorry. I am just really paranoid. My family and I have always been. My grandfather witnessed “pogroms”–massive killings of Jews. People would just break into their houses and apartments and kill them. His whole family was killed in Holocaust. My uncle was born in Siberia because his parents refused to give up their apartment to one of the people in city Government (this was when Stalin was in power), so they could declare anybody they wanted as “traders” and send them to Siberia. That’s why my uncle was born in Siberia. Police came to their apartment in the middle of the night, told them to pack their stuff, put them on the train, and that was it.

The guy who was in the city Government came to their apartment (they were on the waiting list, and they just moved into the apartment), and told them that they had to move out of the apartment because his daughter got married and he wanted her to live there. They refused, so he found that my uncle’s grandfather owned a business long time ago. They declared that he didn’t pay taxes and named him a thief. Put everybody on the train and shipped them off to Siberia. That’s how people were treated. :(

Based on these “preparation” descriptions it was just my thought that they might attack us if they see anything related to PUMAs or Hillary. Just be careful. ;)

Anonymous: I do not find your posts depressing. We have seen in this campaign use of fascist methods at every level (fascist and socialist tactics are the same: if one is not of the”collective mind”,then one is shut up in one manner or another.) While Obama’s agenda is socialist, his campaign’s and surrogates’ methods regarding dissent are brutal if their suppression of any dissent from “the agenda.” Your counsel to pay attention is appropriate.

Good morning people, Here goes. I Have e-mailed Murphy the name of my source for this info. I bit the bullit yesterday and asked , “Will Hillary’s name be placed in nomination?” After a sigh of resignation the answer was “No”When I asked why not, that any joe schmo with 20 delegates usually gets that courtesy the response was,”Not this year.” I wish I could write better to give you context and nuance. I asked if HRC wanted her name placed in nomination they were hesitant to speak for her. Got the she is doing great work in the senate will be like Ted Kennedy blah blah. When I asked about VP , “well it’s possible.” but I think they were throwing me a bone seeing that I was devastated. The birth certificate a red herring. When I said that I couldn’t find anybody that wants to vote for this guy I got a look that made me say ,”yes I know that I’m a low working class, uneducated, typical white person.”[I'm actually a diamond roughing it] The conversation lasted about 30 minutes. By the way this was a Hillary supporter. Must go to work. Take it for what it’s worth. One person’s opinion. Fight harder!

Thank you for understanding.

I think that our background and actions make us who we are as individual characters.

This is how different people in my family are:

My oldest sister is 12 years older than me. She is very independent. Having friends and social life is very important to her. Her son and daughter are both wonderful kids. They are very independent, but they don’t share any activities. Each of them has their “own” friends. IF they are alone at home, then my nephew will watch my niece. They are 3 years apart.

My oldest cousin who is 6 years older than me also has 2 kids. They are also 3 years apart, but the difference is that neither of them goes anywhere or does anything without another. Each of them demand the same type and color items. When one of their friends come over to play they both play with them. The difference in age probably makes a big difference. My youngest nephew is 5 years older than my son, and my youngest niece is 1 year older. When they are here with us, they never make a single step anywhere without my son.

This was 3 or 4 years ago–my nephew went AGAINST his mom to protect me.

They came from NY to stay with us in CA before they went to Hawaii for the summer. My dad died when I was 10.5 years old in 1991, and my mom died in 2004. So, my cousin was yelling at me a lot. My nephew got so upset that he couldn’t take it anymore. His Russian teacher came over and when she was leaving she looked very upset. So, my cousin asked her what happened. The teacher said that my nephew said to her during the lesson:

“My aunt doesn’t have anybody. Both of her parents died and my mom always yells at her”.

He was 5 or 6 years old at that time. He worked up enough courage to go against his MOM ;)

I have a couple of internet friends who have started to bully me. Actually, we all belong to a yahoogroup that discusses politics. When I started openly supporting Hillary, they ‘ganged up’ on me. One other member, a man from New Zealand joined them. Both women are Jews, both athiests, but they were born Jews. I, on the other hand, am a convert, though my roots are Jewish several generations ago. These two women have even gotten ugly because I am a convert. They have called me everything nasty in the book, both on and off list.

All of my local Jewish friends are very strongly Anti-Obama. Amone these people are a number of college professors, a couple in History and Political Science.

My daughter (MakawashiNatusko on PUMA) is a college senior with a History Major and a music minor. I have met some of these anti-Obama people through her. My friends on ‘the list’ are always telling me that I am lying when I say academics do not support him. But they don’t. Many of my daughter’s teachers and political science friends are horrified by him.

#140 prplvette85 on 07.27.08 at 8:41 am

Good morning Pumas. I have been up since the wee hours of the morning. you know, one of those nights where you just cant sleep cuz things keep popping up in your head and wont let you sleep. I am just so worried about our futures, yours, mine, my kids and grand kids.
I moved here to Indiana to help out with in laws, had to cash in 401k to have moving money. I have a job with no benefits, no retirement no nothing. I still help my daughter out who lives in Colorado, she is in remission for uterine cancer (Thank God) but worked during the whole ordeal, she also was uninsured, with 3 kids. I am very proud of her, she is a very strong, independent woman. Her oldest just go a scholarship, athletic, and achedemic 4.1 grade point avg! to go to Harvard. He is the first AA from Colorado to ever be recruited to Harvard. He is actually Afro/Italian lol…but that is besides the point. I am very proud of his hard work to get to this point in his life. He wants to be a pediatrician. His younger sister was a premie, with a lot of medical problems, and he helped take care of her when she was born and for the last 6 years.
My point in telling you all this is, We take care of our kids, our parents, and sacrifice what we have just to make it in life. What is going to happen with things like Social Security, Health Care. I have not heard any policy from either of the candidates. We so need Hillary back. We have got to keep fighting and writing the SD’S.
our very lives depend on it. I do not see any other way….For some of the bots…this is just about getting him in because of his race and his hopey changey message….but to me it is about real life and real futures…to some this may be our last chance.

#141 Henerietta on 07.27.08 at 8:41 am

I had a conversation with my dad a few days ago. He will be 79 on Aug. 12. He is adamant that he will not vote for Obama. He says we all need to support Hillary in Denver, and after that, should we fail, with a write in. He also said that we should all make sure Nader is on the ballot in all 50 states. Even if we don’t vote for him in the general election, that gives everyone a choice should we fail to get Hillary on the ballot in Denver.

I think Dad is right. If Nader is on the ballot in all fifty states, that does give everyone a choice. It is a fact that when Nader is on the ballot, the democratic candidate loses votes to him. This would be additional insurance that Obama would have less votes.

What do you all think?

This PUMA is hungry, hungry for REAL meat! The day is nearing, let’s eat “Walking Eagle!” Scatter its feathers on the ground and stump on them. Get the PUMA word out. Yesterday my wife and I walked the open mall and I was wearing my PUMA t-shirt just to get the word out.
Good morning PUMA’s, another day of spreading the WORD, the PUMA WORD!

#159 NewOrleansPuma on 07.27.08 at 9:02 am

#141 Henrietta: I think that in states where the election looks close, a vote for Nader might not be the correct strategy. Remember the DNC has several groups, including Voting is Power going around the country signing up any and all matter of so called new registrants, including dead people, and others. (News article in local Times-Picayune here and in several other newspapers interviewing Registrars re reviews of so called new registrations reveal that.) I conclude that given the 6-10% who voted for Nader in last elections, the DNC has factored in an increase goal in their registrations beyond that and then some. I would not, therefore, conclude that this cycle will be like the last ones…tactics of DNC and Obama campaign and strategy of both as we continue to witness has no precedent in this country.
If Hillary is not the candidate, this time around, I think we will need to vote for the other main opposition candidate. I don’t trust one thing about the Obama crew, including having already figured out how to alter totals in electronic voting machines. That worries me the most.

#160 prplvette85 on 07.27.08 at 9:02 am

First I have to get the real Word, the truth and the light….then I will go spread the PUMA word……

With the Word, I know that I am more than a conqueror,
I am blessed and cannot be cursed!
It will give me the Wisdom, and the patience to deal with the obots that surround me.

#161 Henerietta on 07.27.08 at 9:03 am

prplvette85: Congrats on the grandson going to Harvard! I hope he goes far with his efforts.

Yes, this country needs people who live in the real world running it. Evan Byah and Hillary would do an awesome job. He is very low key, but a hard worker with a great mind. He was a good governor here in Indiana, and would make a good president.

We have a great woman running for Governor, Jill Long Thompson. If Byah is the VP and she is the governor, she would get to pick his interim replacment. By the way, Jill would make a good president to follow Hillary.

#162 Henerietta on 07.27.08 at 9:07 am

I think Nader on the ticket is a good thing. The Democratic party has turned out to be very corrupt. Any opposition against it is a good thing. Some people who would not vote for a republican would vote for Nader, taking that vote away from Obama for those who would vote for him by default. I know several people who would vote for Nader if he were on the ballot, but for Obama if he isn’t. I would hate to see those votes go to Obama.

How can he change totals of the electronic machines? These are computers, it should be impossible. Do you mean that they can enter the names of the dead people and vote for them? That would be a disaster. I can’t believe that I am hearing this.

Also, if you think about it, BHO can register as many people as he wants, but it doesn’t mean that they will vote for him. If we do everything correctly, Nader might get more votes in the past two elections.

#164 cjv on 07.27.08 at 9:10 am

There’s no dought we need to be ever so diligent on following and reviewing every aspect of the media, the 50 state converage by Beanbag (Dean), etc and ready to pounce at a moments notice. It seems that there is some awareness beginning to start by the media to look at the other side and provide coverage. Some of it is biased and inaccurate, however, persistence can help change that. I guess I need to say this as to not loose hope.

#165 stoney42 on 07.27.08 at 9:11 am

The way I see it. Our job is to continue to write to the delegates. We must implore them to designate their vote for Senator Clinton NOW. We must let them know that we know they are under pressure to “go with the flow”. We must ask them to have the courage to do what they know is right. I sincerely feel that deep down they know that Obama is the wrong choice.

I know these delegates are adults, but I liken them to the teen-agers that are pressured by the “in crowd” to do drugs and drink. What do we tell or kids? Just say no. Delegates – Just say NoBama.

There are 323 sites on the NoBama network. Some how we have to get them to join us in this effort to contact delegates.

#161 Henri- Thank you. I agree on Senator Byah. Also, Jill Long. She came to our campaign headquarters, the night of the Ohio primary and watched it with all of us. We had reporters there, and did phone banking for Hillary before the results started coming in. We had a big pot luck dinner, it was a fun night!

#167 Henerietta on 07.27.08 at 9:12 am

Personally, I long for a new party. A party that is centrist, rational, and not bought and paid for by the powerful.

The corruption we are seeing laid out in the naked light of day has always existed in both major parties. They have been in control, and between them, they have made it almost impossible for any dissenting voices to be heard. I think all voices need to be heard. Just getting a third party candidate on the ballot in all fifty states would be a start in breaking up some of that power hold.

#168 prplvette85 on 07.27.08 at 9:13 am

Trish, I sure hope you can make Denver, If you can get there, don’t worry about a place to stay.

#169 prplvette85 on 07.27.08 at 9:16 am

#165 Stoney,
I totally agree. We need to give them step by step instructions, it is very easy. Sign your name to the petition, have it notarized, seal the envelope. All it takes is COURAGE ……DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE….

#170 gostrumcat on 07.27.08 at 9:16 am

I’m with you on the new party. It’s time for more than 2 major parties. I voted Nader in 2000, when Gore got robbed. My state still went Gore, but it still made me feel partly responsible for his “loss”. If a new party could get going on the Congressional level and get some people elected, there would be support that would grow from that. Maybe this election cycle will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and gets the party started.

#171 anonymous on 07.27.08 at 9:17 am

PUMAs, PLEASE use the opportunity to tell Dean why you won’t vote for BHO.

Dean is hosting a contest to tell him: “why you are a Democrat in 2008″? The deadline: August 1.

Link: http://www.youtube.com/demconvention

It’s a golden opportunity. Please.

#172 cjv on 07.27.08 at 9:18 am

#169 Based on last night’s show with Murphy, and I think she can verify when the chance allows it, that lists for petition copies will become available for us to forward to our state’s delegates to help promote them to sign. That would be a gret tool to have.

#173 Henerietta on 07.27.08 at 9:21 am

How they steal the election electronically:

First is that they vote several thousand votes for their candidate (in the machines) before the election starts. Then the totals are off by several thousand voters. The common practice is to extrapolate by % and then deduct the excess to make it agree with the voter sign in record for number of voters. This happened in Ohio in 2004, and in the Gary Indiana area during this year’s primary.

Another way is to have the voting machine set so that every so many (maybe one in five) votes for candidate A goes to candidate B. That can be set up through corrupted mother boards in the machines. I saw a demonstration of the technique on a news program once. It is pre-programed to skew the results in one direction or the other by the electronics. Another way is vote dumping. That means if the polls are really busy, the machines only ‘hold’ so many votes at a time. If the machine is not ‘read’ and the votes saved periodically, the machine ‘dumps’ them and starts over. Those dumped votes may be counted all for one candidate, that is also pre-programable.

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! Here, in America? This is impossible. This is the country of freedom. How can they do this to us!

I’ll ask my mom’s aunt to pray for BHO to loose.

My grandfather told me that during communism in Russia when elections were held workers at polls sat down after polls closed and changed people’s ballots and then declared that the candidate got such a high voter turn out.

This is unbelievable. Then I hope that McCain will do the same thing.

The republicans have control of the manufacture of the voting machinery. The company that makes them is run by a man who is a rabid republican. This is why they keep winning when the public wants them out.

Nothing beats the paper ballot that one marks with an X. or maybe a paper trail where a real recount can be done?

Found this to be very interesting, does anyone know if John Coale is a delegate?

An active supporter of the Democratic Party and its causes, John worked closely with the Clinton administration on the issues of tobacco control and reformation of gun laws. John is also a staunch supporter of women’s rights and equality, something that has earned him a position on the editorial board for Ms. Magazine; John is the only male ever to have served in this capacity.

John is married to his former law partner, Greta Van Susteren, who is the host of the Fox News program On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.

Obama has either threatened or promised his way to the position he now holds. Richardson really thought he was ‘it’ for the VP spot or maybe Sec of State.

When Edwards bailed out so early, I KNEW they had something on him. Then when he endorsed BO, I was sure they had forced him to do it, based on the expression on his face.

Recent news tells us WHAT they had on Edwards. Richardson is still the traitor, and always will be. Obama will not pick him for dog catcher, much less VP.

“Factually Correct, Not
Politically Correct”

AMERICA’S #1 POLITICAL
BLOG ON THE 2008 CAMPAIGN
(NEW YORK)(July 23, 2008) This week an Iraqi snake bit President Bush. Noor Al-Maliki sought to promote the presidential candidacy of Senator Barack Obama. Maybe Saddam Hussein was right all along about Iraqis. Bush was certainly wrong.
First, a brief history for our new readers: I probably became the first name on President Bush’s enemies list when I predicted–in December, 1999–he would bomb Iraq (video coming on YouTube). I knew Bush better than he knew himself.
Having spent over thirty years in the Middle East, I was a strong opponent of the Iraq invasion in 2002-2003 and predicted it would backfire. I spent most of 2003 in Baghdad, predicting the tranquility would evaporate and the chaos would return. In 2007 I surprisingly predicted President Bush’s “surge” might work. Finally, I have always recognized that no nation and no people enjoy or welcome the presence of foreign troops.
Nevertheless, Al-Maliki’s “endorsement” of Obama was the act of a snake, not a statesman.
President Bush is going to be regarded as a tragic figure by history. Everyone close to him betrayed him. His civilian defense officials betrayed him by endorsing the folly of an Iraq invasion. Vice president Cheney betrayed him by proffering the same advice. The entire enterprise was doomed from its inception. Saddam Hussein was a colossal nuisance in the Middle East. But he was no threat to the United States. And he played an extremely useful role in containing Iran’s regional ambitions.
Bush was a “believer” who thought removing Saddam would make Iraq a fertile field for democracy. At the time of Saddam’s removal, Shiite leaders such as Al-Maliki were either imprisoned and tortured, or in exile, or silenced. Goaded on by his blinded and arrogant advisers, Bush pursued his dream beyond reason. At each juncture when he could have walked away and written off his misadventure in Iraq, Bush “stayed the course.”
When the Iraq mission was again failing in 2006, and the new government’s enemies were creating chaos, Bush went forward with the “surge.” Now that Iraqis are again enjoying relative peace in 2008, their leader Al-Maliki has bitten the hand that fed them, George Bush. Al-Maliki chose to support the one individual whose failed policies would have left Iraq either under the brutal dictatorship of Saddam in 2003, or exposed to perpetual chaos and sectarian violence in 2007–Barack Obama.
Practically speaking, Bush is stuck and the American people are stuck with the need to continue a U. S. presence in Iraq. Even opponents of the war such as myself are forced to argue for maintaining a military force to maintain order. The P owell/Pottery Barn doctrine that Bush ignored, has trapped him. We broke it. We have to fix it. We “own it.”
I wish we could all leave Iraq tomorrow. I wish we had never gone in. Obama supporter Governor Bill Richardson wants Americans to throw down their weapons and flee Iraq in panic, thereby creating a new round of mayhem, murder and instability throughout the region. I cannot endorse such an irrational policy today, any more than I could endorse the irrational invasion in 2003.
The Iraqis, of course have deeply conflicted attitudes. On one hand, American men and women enforce relative peace. They know we destroyed the existing social and military structures in 2003; we have not yet built robust and solid replacements. Military and paramilitary organizations such as local police cannot be created overnight. It takes years. The New York Police are 150 years old, and they still have to struggle every day to maintain order and discipline both internally in the police force itself and out among the people. Maintaining public safety is not an easy task under the best of conditions.
Some Am ericans, moreover, are crass and impractical. The Democratic Congress created a surge-related list of goals for the Iraqi government in 2007. Obama has relentlessly criticized the lack of “political progress” in Iraq. Oh? Here in the United States we have over 200 years of experience with freedom and democracy, and we still do not have everything just right and perfect. We fight over health care, labor policies, financial regulation and other matters of national importance.
“Politics” does not germinate overnight either. It takes years for people to learn to negotiate, bargain, accept defeat, compromise. The Democrats’ demand that Iraq become a fully functional democracy in a year was always sheer nonsense.
Sadly, the Middle East and Arab nations have not developed deep democratic foundations since the end of the colonial era. I vividly remember the day the Iraqi king was overthrown in 1958. Decades of chaos followed. Dictators and kleptocracies predominate throughout the region. Bush was always unrealistic to believe he could force feed democracy into this cauldron of instability.
No one likes to have f oreign forces on their soil. Iraqis are no different I know from “my year in Baghdad” that even the best of Iraqis would like us gone—as long as we did not leave a new blood bath and renewed disintegration in our wake.
Nevertheless, when the history of this era is written, Bush will be seen as a leader who was betrayed by his closest associates, and who launched a forlorn war. He sacrificed the goodwill of his family’s dynasty on the alter of Iraqi “democracy.” He sacrificed tens of thousands of American lives in wounded and dead, to “free” Iraq.
Al-Maliki would not be a leader today if Bush had not removed Saddam Hussein. Al-Maliki would be in jail or exile, or possibly even dead. So the current Shiite-dominated ruling class of Iraq owes President George Bush a great debt of gratitude. However wrongfully, however mistakenly, however foolishly, Bush freed Iraq from Saddam.
Al-Maliki’s “thank you” to Bush? He endorsed Obama and endorsed the senator’s asinine plan to withdraw on a rigid fixed schedule. No dou bt Bush’s White house was shocked to learn Al-Maliki had given a German magazine an interview in which A-M endorsed Obama’s plans. Bush must have been even more shocked when A-M’s spokesman repeated the endorsement this week after Obama was given a royal welcome by Al-Maliki. Al-Maliki, of course, was pandering to the emotions of Iraqi citizens. Maybe they are learning politics after all; the snakes are biting their benefactor.
Here’s a lessen Mr. Al-Maliki should learn from American politics: “you have to dance with the one that brung you.” http://www.barrypopik.com/index.php/texas/entry/dance_with_the_one_who_brung_you_darrell_royal/ Dumping Bush and backing Barack may backfire.
Bush and his partisans feel history well treat them better than today’s news media. I am doubtful. It is very possible the worst is yet to come. In 2003, I predicted the two big losers from the invasion would be the United States and Israel. Sadly, my prediction was accurate. In my opinion, history will judge Bush even more harshly than his contemporaries have.
“Mookie” Al-Sadr is no friend of Bush or America. He wants us out of Iraq “yesterday.” Al-Maliki and his “party” at least have been working with Bush, apparently on a two-faced basis. But, with the loyalty of snakes, Al-Maliki & Co. betrayed Bush this week by endorsing Obama’s puerile and facile plan for a fixed American withdrawal. Ironically, a premature American departure may doom Al-Maliki’s own government. Talk about biting your nose to spite your face.
President Bush: welcome to the Middle East. Enjoy your stay.
Saddam Hussein, anyone?

Just got a response from Superdelegate Saxe, to my letter requesting her pledge to Senator Clinton. My letter was sent out on the delegate contact website, where you click the supers do be contacted for that state, and they all get the same letter. I don’t know what State, but she is an Obama supporter. I know because of my last paragraph asking them to change rathen than to continue. She reponded by saying, “HOW ABOUT PAYING OFF THE SENATOR’S DEBT”

Since she e-mailed me to my personal e-mail, I e-mailed her back to her personal e-mail which I did not have. I told her that we are collectively contibuting to paying off her debt.

Sooo…what is she saying here. If Senator Clinton’s debt is not repaid, she can’t be a nominee? Well, not everyone can buy their way into the White House like Senator Cover Boy.

What the delegate is saying is that as long as Clinton has a debt to pay, they can’t shortcircuit her before the convention. Once her debt is paid off, she’ll have no reason to keep her campaign suspended, Right?

“Fox News wants everyone to send in a name for “women” between ages of 50-60 yrs old”

Oh great, yet another categorization of women, and an ageist one at that! Let them keep their categorizations and generalizations to themselves.

I won’t do it here, but compare all the names/categorizations they have for women compared to the ones they have for themselves:
( b****, c***, lady, girl, chic, ho, woman, “hot”, trash, floozy, trollop, whore, princess, ballbreaker, etc.)

If you’re beyond the age of puberty, you are a woman.

“For those of you going to Denver PLEASE be careful.
Take good care of yourselves, we need every puma alive and being well.”

Sorry, but, based on your source, I don’t get where Dean has any control over the police strategies or their tactics. And, their is nothing in the article you posted that suggests otherwise.

Also, I cannot for the life of me “get” where you conclude that if PUMAs wear anything to identify themselves, they will be attacked.

Yesterday, I pasted a brief from the City of Denver website that explained the security system they will have in place. Here it is again, there is no reason for anyone to get all freaked out,

I am a Wisconsin Democrat. I just mailed my letter to Joe Wineke protesting the party’s decision to strip Debra Bartoschevich of her status as a convention delegate.

Obama plans to duck debates, run clockout
Obama making Dean Smith proud on town halls

His answer in the last minutes of “Meet the Press” on whether he’ll do any of the town halls John McCain has proposed seems to make clear that he intends to run out the clock, Four Corners-style, on the matter:

As a Native American I can tell you that Obama’s patronizing is insulting. It’s arrogance really. He assumes so much yet I doubt he knows a thing about Native American culture, outlooks, or standards of living. The “red bothers and sisters” comment infuriates me. Not that I mind being called red at all, but it’s an attempt to draw parallels to the history of blacks in America and a shameless effort to make it look like he is in a sense Native American.

I chalk all of this up to arrogance. In my opinion this character flaw, err…trait may be his Achilles heal. One PBS columnist says it better than I do so I’ll let you read it for yourself here:

P.S. Although I’ve never heard the joke about the walking eagle I’m probably going to start telling that one!

Hmm, maybe I should have read a little further and realized the “red brothers and sisters” line was fictional. Oh well, everything else I said stands.
